Angelo Coluccia was an amazing host by providing the best accommodations (apt) transportation to and from Bari airport and daily tours which included visits up to three towns each day. Some highlights were visiting churches and Basilica's, a store where cheese was made, wine tasking at a local vineyard, making pasta at a local farm house.
Obviously the food was amazing, Angelo found us local restaurants with strong ties to their communities and took time to explain each wine for that particular meal. Great surprise was when he did some family history for my wife and planned a visit to her Grandparents town of Gravina.

Our week-long tour with Angelo (from Experience Puglia Tours) in Puglia was magical! I had never before used a tour guide for an entire trip, and could not have been more happily surprised! Every detail was arranged for, from the apartment stay in our small town, to the daily transportation. The trip was seamless. Angelo is wonderfully warm and knowledgeable, and shared the history of the region and each town, including the production of delicious regional specialties- olive oil, breads, wine and more! Our group of six were driven comfortably from town to town, where we wandered historic streets, gazed at ancient churches and learned about the rich cultural history of the region. The leisurely lunchtime meals were a highlight, with appetizers, pastas and wines all presented with local flavor and hospitality. Meals were slow and delightful, each dish that was presented was tastier than the last. Grotta del Trullo, located just outside of Putignano in Italy, is a fascinating cave system that was discovered by chance around 80 years ago. The entrance to the cave is through a trullo and visitors can explore the different caves using a deep metallic staircase. This cave was once used as a temple to honor Athena, the goddess. Visitors can enjoy guided tours with knowledgeable guides who provide clear explanations in both English and Italian.
We found this hidden gem by chance. What we experienced during our visit to the cave was incredible. Only about 2 meters deep, the ground splits into a wonderful, amazing cave.
Our guide, Davide, walked us through the cave giving us all the details with complete professionalism.
I will leave some photos but, I assure you, what you will see when visiting this cave, is beyond imagination. We strongly recommend you to stop and dive into the cave and you will have the impression that you are in a story.

Very beautiful. I would recommend it instead of the bigger Castellana Grotte, as the cave is richer in stalagmites . I can’t remember the guide’s name, but he explained everything with calm and professionalism! Would recommend everybody to visit
This was an excellent place to visit while in Putignsno! It’s a guided tour of the caves and it’s not a deep cave ( 20 meters to so) so the cave is very close to the above ground! It’s a beautiful cave system and the tour lasts 30 minutes or so and has stunning formations!
We had a fantastic visit! The cave itself is absolutely wonderful — beautiful formations and a really unique atmosphere. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and super nice, making the tour fun and interesting even for our 7-year-old.
I loved that we were allowed to take pictures (always a plus!), and the guide even gave us time to stop for photos along the way. The group was small, so it felt very personal and attentive. Highly recommended for families or anyone who enjoys exploring nature and learning something new!
Is a breathtaking experience 20m under ground, there is a wine cellar (you can't drink though), amazing rock formations, rock sales and tree roots, I recommend spending 30mins down there, or pay for a specialist and do an even deeper (40m) trip.

Davida, the tour guide was so knowledgeable. The cave is cool at 16 degrees so take a sweater if you’re visiting in summer. €7 entry fee for adults but honestly would have paid more. Puglia’s first public cave!
grotta del trullo is a really special and impressive limestone cave with beautiful stone formations. we had a very informative 30 minute tour in english with a lovely guide. recommend to everyone in the area!

Alberobello is amazing. The whole city. It is something you see in pictures and in videos, and you say to yourself: This can’t be real. And when you are there you can’t move because you realise it was real all along.
The house was very interesting. Amazingly built and was informative of how the people have lived in a trullo. It is well preserved and kept clean. The staff were nice and friendly.
I think that if you visit the town, you should visit this place as well. It gives you another perspective than by just walking in the town.
I specifically bought a ticket in advance on Booking called “Skip the Line: Trullo Sovrano Admission Ticket”, so I wouldn’t have to wait in line under the scorching sun at the Trullo Museum. The very name of the ticket says “Skip the Line.”
However, when I arrived, it turned out that pre-purchased tickets weren't being accepted at all. I was forced to stand in a half-hour queue under the blazing sun together with people who hadn’t bought any tickets in advance. The line moved very slowly because there was only one person selling and checking tickets at the entrance.
I tried twice to enter without waiting in line, showing my pre-booked ticket, but was firmly refused both times. So keep in mind: even if you buy the Skip the Line: Trullo Sovrano Admission Ticket, you will still have to queue with everyone else.
There’s nothing particularly special inside. I only waited in line because I had come all the way from Bari to see an authentic trullo. Considering such terrible service, this visit isn't worth even 2€. When I complained at the entrance, the staff member simply told me, “You shouldn’t buy tickets on Booking.” That’s their whole attitude toward visitors.

Pretty but...
I can't help feel that Polignano is a victim of its own "beauty". Certainly worth a visit, but I felt I kept on waiting for it to deliver, and it never did.
It does have an impressive setting, built above and into the shallow cliffs, and it had the typical bars and restaurants to enjoy, with a "new" viaduct where an old Roman one used to be, above THE beach - pebble and crowded, so for viewing from a distance rather than enjoying as a beach.
You also run out of things to experience pretty quickly, so give it an hour for a coffee, beer or glass of wine, and move on!
Free parking up by the station.
A special place to visit! The tall narrow houses clinging to the cliffs with the crashing waves below. Let your eyes soak up the beautiful clear Adriatic sea. Walk the narrow passages in centro storico. Experience the poetry of the little village. Dive back to Roma times.
What a charming place to stay for a long weekend. Polignano a Mare looks like it is straight out of a movie set. This part of Italy (the heel) does not suffer over-tourism so I found it peaceful. The small town is very eye catching, as it's perched precariously on steep sea cliffs. The houses have flower laden balconies and are separated by tight alleyways. You really feel like you are stepping back in time by decades. Your standard run of the mill restaurant here, would be a top class Italian restaurant at home, and the prices are great. There is a statue here dedicated to their favourite son - the famous Italian singer, composer, and actor Domenico Modugno. There is not much English spoken here, so you are better off making the effort to learn some Italian words. If you are in the Bari area, I would advise coming here for a day trip at least, it's that special here.
A very nice small city with narrow streets and fresh sea air. If you dare, you can try swimming down at the rocks because this area is always full of visitors and tourists. While walking at the streets don't miss the beautiful sea view!
I had the pleasure of visiting the historic center of Polignano a Mare at night, and it was truly breathtaking. The area was bustling with tourists, yet it maintained a charming, intimate atmosphere. The streets were lined with numerous eateries, offering delicious gelato and pizza, perfect for a late-night snack.
The art on the walls and light installations added a magical touch, making every corner a visual delight. The small churches scattered throughout the area were adorned with stunning religious art, a testament to the town’s rich cultural heritage. Walking through the narrow alleys, I discovered hidden gems like the Vicolo della Poesia, where poetry adorns the walls, and the picturesque Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.
Polignano a Mare’s historic center is a must-visit, especially at night when it transforms into a vibrant yet serene haven. Whether you’re interested in history, art, or simply enjoying local cuisine, this place has something for everyone. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore its beauty and charm!

It’s something to do, but if you do not read Italian it is a real waste of 6 euro. All the museum placards are in Italian and no options for other languages. Pretty ceramics, but without the history it was like walking a ceramics store. Walk to the front door, marvel at the spectacular view and then save yourself some money.
A quick and easy tour of the ceramic museum. It’s inexpensive and situated right inside the castle walls.
There is a good overview of the ceramic expansion during the centuries, how the shapes, the uses and the decorations changed. What is completely missing is the modern part, what the ceramics became today, the artistic part, the futuristic choice of paintings, subjects and decorations. They are all around the museum in the closeby quarter, they just have to add to the rest. Let's hope for the future!

So lovely. We met a 93 year old artist and a studio that makes huge jars bigger than my husband. Very pleasant stop at the purgatory bar after.
If you go to Grottaglie this is the place you MUST visit. A street of artisan botteghe producing handmade ceramic masterpieces. You can find beautiful pieces for everyone taste. From classic ceramic to astonishing modern pieces. A couple of bar can offer you a drink and a snack in the hottest hour of the day or just to sit and admire the beauty of what you have around.

Tourist trap with multiple shops. Did purchase two small ornamennts. A couple places had staff painting the partially dry base prior to kilning. Most shops asked that no pictures or videos be taken. Not sure why???
Some pieces looked very interesting but too big to transport back home.
Definitely a quality difference between shops. Be careful, shop several stores first then go back after you have noticed the variances.

Amazing experience! We took the train from Bari and a bus from the train station + a 30 min walk from Fasano, as there was no shuttle bus during weekdays, but was totally worth it.
We did not have a car, and were planning to take the bus, but we were given a spare car, which made the experience unforgettable.
Amazing experience! One literally feeds giraffes amd zebras out of the car window. Animals are so near that it cannot be compared with any other zoo. Bring 3-5 kg Carrots and buy peanuts for the monkeys! Totally worth it for any age.
The safari tour was great but the rest more la la.. Rest is the second part of walking tour including a funny train and many closed attractions.
Also they forced me to pay extra parking 4 EUR although I paid a family ticket 140 EUR and they know the tour ends with parking and proceeding by foot once through the safari with the car🤣 . Pretty low and embarrassing 👎

Loved it! Safari from the car was definitely the best part! Bring carrots with you, animals will love it. It can get slow and crowded in the season, so have patience and enjoy the ride. Bring water with you cause it can take 2 hours to just go through the first part in car. You don’t have to buy tickets in advance, you can do it at the gate from your car when you arrive.
Great time spent with the family in the Safari and the park! The park is huge, you can see the animals very close, pet them! The animals are well looked after, there is no bad smell at all! Their territory is large, it looks like the animals are happy in the park! I highly recommend it!
Me and my family had a great time! Every penny was worth it :). The animals seemed happy and freely ran around the park. After our family went through the safari we left without knowing how much is left there,so make sure you don’t make the same mistake! But even if you do,you can come back the same day with the same tickets and you can make sure you don’t miss any more fun! 5 stars❤️
It's well managed and unique (for Europe) place to see lots of exotic animals considerably free in a wide space from the close but safe approach of your car. There are many areas that you are allowed to touch and feed the animals (please don't give them junk or human food, you can buy carrots, peanuts etc. specially for them at the entrance) and areas where you need to stay in your car at all times but it's all worth it. The animals looks like the staff take good care of them which is very important for me considering other similar places or zoo parks in Europe. It's really family/kids friendly place. In the pedestrian area you can find other animals and different zones like reptiles and insects, lake with birds and monkeys where you can have a paid boat ride, there is a rail car (zoo metro) which you can take from one zone to another, a special monkey zone which you can visit with a caged safari style truck and feed peanuts to the animals through a special holes. There is an amusement park in the pedestrian area where you can find food and drinks and have some fun before you take off. Overall a great place for kids and families, we had amazing time there.

Great wines and a great winery mentality. We had a nice guided visit today by the museum where we learned a bit about the Primitivo history and also how the Produtori di Manduria was able to bring together several vineyard’s to create great labels. A big shout and thank you to Roberta, which was amazing guiding us today and is very knowledgeable about the wines and the region.
It is underground where the old vats for making wine were located, made from stone. Old wine equipment and farm tools. Gives you a view of what rural life was in Puglia many years ago.
As a visiting American it was the highlight of our Italian trip. The wine, the tour and the staff were all exceptional. This is a must see on any visit to Puglia
And special thanks to Santa Valentina who was charming, gracious and simply beautiful.

One of the few baroque church that has actual style. It is located on the plaza in the very picturesque village. The fassade is quite detailed and so is the very subtle but also quite elegantly built interior. A highlight is the mummy crypt below, which was sadly closed during our visit.
After long renovation is the Cathedrale of Oria open again. Which us this year at 2022. Very nicely done, just look closer.. you will realize that all the walls are paintings which gives you the idear of marbel. If you would join at Sunday the church than is this one option to be. Beautiful small historical place. Underneath are mummy's which got a special place of the hold of belive. Discover more and move around ! Enjoy the castel as well and drink afterwards one good Italian Caffè at Despeto.

We did the farm and olive grove tour and tasting. It was very good and informative. Our guide spoke excellent english and was able to answer any questions. The grove is fairly level and seeing olive trees planted by the Romans, and earlier people, was amazing. A portion of the tour goes underground to the ancient crypt where the olives were pressed. This portion of the tour would be impossible for anyone with mobility issues. The blind olive oil tasting was very fun and educational. Well worth the price. There was no sales pressure to purchase the product but there was a small store.

Masseria Brancati is a wonderful place, a beautiful main building surrounded by very old fantastic olive trees. The masseria tour that ended with olive oil tasting was a unique experience. The passion of the masseria owner and the guide was true and evident.
We took a tour with Luigi. Wonderful experience learning about olive oil production from Roman times to today.
The ancient olive trees are amazing to behold. The underground press room was full of historical artifacts. The tasting at the end was fun.
Highly recommend to learn about olive oil and it's role in Italian agriculture over the centuries.
We spent 2 nights as B&B guests at the property and also joined a farm tour/oil tasting. For those seeking a rustic/authentic masseria experience at a real, working farm - look no further. The owners Corrado and Antonella are wonderful hosts, and treated us like family. The property is a slice of heaven. The tour itself, which is a major tourist magnet, is very informative and interesting with passionate guides. Very high quality olive oils- a reflection of the love and dedication that has gone into running the farm while respecting traditions since Roman times.

We stayed two days in ostuni, and we really wanted to visit the catherdral . We checked the opening time, it should be open. But each time we go there, the door was closed, and there is no any information about why it’s closed. I asked a lady she lived nearby, she told me Saturday should always open, I waited outside Saturday morning till almost 11:00am, it’s still not open. The catherdral should be very impressive, but we couldn’t give 2 stars. The service is too bad!

There’s a small spiaggia attrezzata with chairs and umbrellas if you prefer some comfort, but most of the beach is spiaggia libera, so you can pick your own spot and enjoy the natural setting. The area is also mostly disabled-friendly, so it’s accessible for everyone, which is a huge plus.
Overall, Torre Guaceto is perfect for anyone looking for a clean, relaxing beach with beautiful scenery, easy access, and a touch of solitude if you explore a bit. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the region!

Beautiful beaches. During the off season we were almost the only ones as you basically need a bike to get to the ones more east.
Unfortunately there is a lot of plastic everywhere but you cannot blame the national park for that...

This is a fine example of a conservation area and yet very accessible to the public . A shuttle bus service is provided from the main parking area. There are different zones of protection , no fishing , sailing and water sport areas and swimming is not encouraged in some areas . The areas are clearly designated and the public seem to be cooperating. There is a turtle hospital not open to the public due to stress that this would cause the animals. There are long scenic , tranquil paths to walk but beware of the erosions and danger in some of the cliff tops. The beaches and bays are a haven for wildlife and the public alike this place deserves more publicity but maybe its better left to the public to discover how wonderful it is?
Sorry but calling Torre Guaceto a natural reserve is a joke... The beach is dirty, with microplastics and other waste, and due to the shallow water the dirt remains in the water almost up to the buoys. Beach is overcrowded in August as could be expected, yet it has only two toilets and not even a shower. Booking online or not makes no difference: the parking is huge and accepts anyone who pays the 5€ at the entrance, and then everyone queues up for the shuttle. But the small „train“ doesn’t bring you to the beach, instead it drops you off some 700m away... and even in peak periods there is only one "train". Queues under the scorching sun are very long for both journeys (wait at least 20 minutes). The sea is ok, but neither better nor worse than the other coves along the coast. Don‘t waste your time & money here!
Just beautiful, a bit of everything white beachside, grotto's, ruins. Love that so much of this area from Bari on down the coast isn't the over devolved beaches of Spain and France.
- It's a wonderful place for a good walk along the seaside, the sea is simply amazing, only downside the rubbish coming from the sea get stuck on the beaches and doesn't get removed because "it's a reserve".

To rent a bed cost 50 euros, even though you're eating and drinking there, it takes them more than 40 minutes for a simple order even though it was not busy at all... The view is beautiful but we will not be coming here again. Many other places to choose from that are much nicer!😊
Great beach club with umbrella and lounger areas on both sand and lawn. Nice little bar with good coffee, choice alcoholic drinks and some decent lunch options. Sea here is blue and shallow for a fair way out. Worth a visit. We paid €25 for umbrella and two loungers for the day (Aug '25).
This is the best beach in this region, the staff tries, not always everything goes without comments, but... clean (we were in many places in this area), normal distance between sunbeds, good bar, nice restaurant, tasty food, good beach line with sand. The only comment, a lot of staff, need to work for beter coordination and communication.
Really nice beach bar.The sea is amazing and the grass area is very comfortable.Drinks and food was ok the only problem would be the prices🤣€60 for 2 sun-beds and an umbrella is a bit extreme for Brindisi. If i was at Amalfi beach i would be expecting these prices.Generally one of the best beaches around Brindisi.
The location is great and well taken care off. But the staff is 100% not interested in taking care of the guests. So much staff but such a low level of service and passion. Also food was disappointing. It’s a shame that the staff has such a low interest in hospitality. Better go to long beach club which is at least authentic.
Shabby chic beach club with a vast area on golf like green. Good food which is served to your spot or at the restaurant, staff is friendly and helpful. great access to the sea & some water sport offerings. Book ahead. The trees instead of an umbrella might be small.
