Excellent lake to have a good time, it’s not too small and not too big either, it’s good for big family or couples. you can have a walk around the lake or you can enjoy the view from the main restaurant, or you can rent a paddle boats.
Fahad A — Google review
We enjoyed our visit, the other visitors were very nice to us. Paying for bathrooms after paying an entrance fee was a negative. The campsite is dirty but we liked our site and the view. The walk around the lake was nice at sunset. There were only like 5 other camping groups so we had a lot of privacy. Also not as many picnic groups as the weekend so no problems except old trash.
Robert Q — Google review
It was an excellent experience walking bare food around the lake.
Matt T — Google review
A mountain like with a breathtaking view. The water is cold and clean. There is a affordable restaurant at the lake. You can also rent your own bungalows there. Currently the rates are around 2000 TL per night. You can also bring your own tent and just camp.

Pontic Kings Rock Tombs

Ancient Ruins
The Pontic Kings Rock Tombs in Amasya are an ancient marvel perched atop a mountain, offering breathtaking views of the city. These historical structures date back to the Pontus Kingdom period and were carved into rocks, reflecting Hellenistic architectural features. Although only a few of the 21 tombs have survived, they remain a symbolic and popular tourist attraction in Amasya. Visiting these tombs involves a rewarding adventure with stunning panoramic views of the surroundings.
Came here in September with a tour group. Only a short climb up the stairs to the entrance. There is a small entry fee, 25TL. There is not much to see of the tombs. But that the tombs are carved into the hillside is historic. Also a great view of the city from up there
Google L — Google review
We walked up to the tombs. Its a lot of money for a badly taken care of path. There are people working on buildings, but around the tombs is a lot of dirt, thrash… The view is gorgeous though!
Selin Ç — Google review
King Rock Tombs – Impressive and Majestic The King Rock Tombs are very impressive and full of history. They are carved into the mountain and offer a fantastic view of the whole city. You have to walk a little uphill, but it’s not too hard and it’s really worth it. The tombs are big and mysterious, and you can take great pictures there. The ticket price is 100TL, and children can go in for free. The people at the entrance are very friendly and give you useful information. It’s one of the most important places to visit in Amasya. I really loved it.
Gihan R — Google review
An acient and well preserved crypts that are carved into rocks of mountain. A must see place for Amasya. You may also fancy the traditional wooden houses and a peaceful evening near greenriver (Yeşilırmak). This place is also the homeland of an old fable called "Ferhat and Şirin". The lover Ferhat singlehandedly carve through mountains to bring water to city and get Şirin's hand for marriage...
A B — Google review
We had issue with the ticket person who has been working there because university students cannot benefit from student discounts. Ticket person showed us “entering rules” of the Amasya municipality's and these rules are not allowing over 18 years old. After that, they took the normal entering fee from us.
Tulga Ö — Google review
Very attractive for those who are interested in history and mysterious sites. It is a historical tombs of pontic kings which are now available for visitors. The only way to reach them is by walking a long strairs which definitely needs to be immensely fit. The beautiful view of the city of Amasya from up will let you forget the long stairs journey.
N A — Google review
A nice monument, it's clean, very very good organised to bad that the original was destroyed by the Roman empire more than 2000 years ago. Very nice view of the city.
Εμμανουήλ Ζ — Google review
You'll see these tombs from wherever you are on Amasya. So why not pay the 15TL per person (Apr 23) and then climb the 600 or so steps to go and see them? You'll get very close and be able to see how they were carved, but you won't be able to go in or walk around the back. There are some good views from the top and the information boards are mostly in Turkish and English.

Perched atop Mt. Harşena, the Amasya Castle stands as a testament to the city's rich history and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley. Accessible by car, this ancient fortress is a must-visit in Amasya, known as the 'City of Princes.' While exploring this charming city, visitors can also marvel at well-preserved Ottoman-era houses and ancient rock tombs.
Fantastic views - beautiful old castle. Build in 3200bc. There is 2 parts one lover level and second you have to climb 325 steps - we counted !!

Amasya Castle – A Beautiful View of the city from the Top The castle is on top of the city and offers an amazing panoramic view. You can see the river, the houses, and the mountains all around. The castle ruins are interesting and it’s a good place to walk and enjoy nature. It’s also a great spot for taking photos. The ticket is cheap for adults (100TL) and free for children. The staff are really polite and happy to guide you or answer questions. I think this is a perfect place for families and tourists who enjoy history and beautiful landscapes. Don’t miss it!
Gihan R — Google review
One of the best places to see 360 degrees of the city from above. The entrance fee is 25 lira per person. It is not difficult to reach and it is a good place to relax.
Reyhane M — Google review
Well it is a historical site but dont forget you dont see much. It is writtem that there was a hammam here long ago, you cannot see any sight or picture. But the view from the top is fantastic. And the entry fee is 50TL per person.
Amin P — Google review
There’s nothing inside — it’s not a museum, just some ancient stones left. The entrance fee is 100 TL, and it’s not worth going in. If you’re just looking for a good view of the city, I think seeing it from the outside is more than enough.

Amasya, a charming city nestled in the heart of Turkey, is a true gem that enchants visitors with its rich history, architectural beauty, and picturesque landscapes. Known as the "City of Princes," Amasya offers a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved Ottoman-era houses, ancient rock tombs, and historical sites such as the majestic Amasya Castle. Archaeology and Mummy Museum – Fascinating and Surprising This museum was one of the highlights of my trip. You can see real mummies and many interesting archaeological items. It’s very well displayed and organized. The information is easy to read and the objects are fascinating. It’s perfect for both adults and kids. The ticket 3€ (145TL) and it’s free for children. The staff are very knowledgeable and polite. They answer all your questions with a smile. If you like history and something a bit different, this museum is a must-see!

In Amasya? Then spend an hour visiting this museum. With information boards in English and Turkish, you will learn all about the city over the years. There are some really good displays, and I especially liked the mosaics and learning about the Storm God! Free with museum cards, parking limited.

The interesting thing is the mummifi3d bodies of 13-14th century bodies in the first floor area. Unique style of museum ti visit if you are in Amasya
Chaudhry Z — Google review
There are a lot of nice things to see, both archeological and anthropological, but some of the English translations are terrible or missing. They are making a new museum so hopefully they'll fix the problems. Don't miss the mum's upstairs. Unfortunately there is no way for a handicap person to access the upstairs.

Çorum Müzesi

Local history museum
Museums
Archaeological museum featuring artifacts like ceramics, weapons & coins from various civilizations.
A great museum in Çorum that is worth visiting. My Turkish is not that great and I was pleasantly surprised that all information is also written in English. The museum contains many archaeological findings, especially from the Hitites, Assyrians, ancient Greeks and the Romans. The museum contains so many time periods from the bronze age untill the Ottoman period, and it even has a ethnographic hall where you can see how life was in the Çorum province. The museum is informative, clean, staff is helpful and friendly. When I visit Çorum next time I will come back to the museum.

Wonderful local museum, well worth a visit.

Small but high quality museum owing its richness to the incredible amount of Hittite, Phrygian, and Byzantine history in the area. We'll worth a visit to get a better understanding of the overall history of the region.
Jash R — Google review
Really impressed by this regional museum that holds artefacts from the Chalcolithic to the Ottoman periods. Of particular note are the Phrygian, Hittite, and Roman exhibits. The museum is well organized and provides information in Turkish and English. Well worth visiting if in Çorum and especially if you have visited Hattusa and Alacahoyuk.

Eski Safranbolu Çarşısı, also known as the Old Safranbolu Bazaar, is a historical marketplace located in the dreamy town of Safranbolu, which holds UNESCO World Heritage status. The bazaar offers a wide array of local delights and souvenirs at affordable prices. Visitors can indulge in unique treats like double roasted Turkish delight and saffron Turkish delight, exclusive to Safranbolu.
Unexpectedly great. The old winding streets are beautiful in themselves. Lots of amazing crafts, jewelry and foodstuffs. Very nice people and excellent cafes to hangout in.
Robert Q — Google review
Beautiful place! Step back in time and walk through the old streets. It’s not easy. You need to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. The streets are uneven stones. It’s not good for strollers, wheelchairs, or anyone with mobility problems. And it’s hilly.
Richard K — Google review
The Old Bazaar (Çarşı) in Safranbolu is a wonderful place to experience the charm and history of this UNESCO World Heritage town. Walking through the narrow cobblestone streets feels like stepping back in time. The architecture of the traditional Ottoman houses, shops, and workshops is beautifully preserved, giving the whole area a unique and authentic atmosphere. The bazaar is full of local shops, handicrafts, spice sellers, saffron products, copperware, and souvenirs. It’s a great place to buy handmade items and support local artisans. Many shop owners are friendly and happy to explain the story behind their products without pressuring you to buy. There are also cafés and restaurants scattered throughout the bazaar where you can sit, enjoy Turkish tea or coffee, and take in the peaceful surroundings. Don't miss trying some local foods or sweets like Safranbolu lokum (Turkish delight). Prices vary depending on the shop, but in general, you can find both affordable and higher-end items depending on what you're looking for. It’s a must-visit spot if you’re in Safranbolu — not just for shopping, but for the experience itself. Full of culture, history, and character. I highly recommend spending a few hours exploring and enjoying the old town.

Historical town where one can enjoy traditional style Turkish house architecture. Has markets, cute little shops that sell handcrafted items, enjoy yummy Turkish delight and its the place where majority of Turkiye’s Saffron is produced. UNESCO heritage site since 1994.
Tour K — Google review
Stopped here on a whim, so glad we did. Highest quality handmade Turkish goods and art that we have seen. We brought several pieces of art and proudly display them on our wall.
Noah V — Google review
Beautiful çarsi. No wonder it's on the UNESCO list. When we got here, it was still very early in the morning. So there are still many shops closed. Should have been here after 11 o'clock, local time in Türkiye. Maybe I will go crazy shopping seeing nice items for souvenirs 🤭😃 The local people here are friendlier than in Istanbul. There are also many mosques here. So we can immediately perform prayers when we hear the call to prayer. Alhamdulillah😍 we do love Safran Bolu
Maya M — Google review
This area is really unique and charming. Just a heads-up though, if you have trouble walking or are older, the streets can be quite steep and rocky.

Nice place. A fantastic view on the glass terrace. Parking is next to the place for cheap. Zipline is next to fly above the canyon. The entrance price is cheap. Real good place to visit and maybe buy some small souvenirs. cu

We take a taxi from Safranbolu town 160TL , and asked the driver to pick us up at 4pm. The return fare will be double at 320 TL using meter as the driver turned on the meter while heading to pick us up. Another option is to pay 400 TL for agree return fare at the taxi stand near the main square at Cici Han. Don't worry, taxi drivers are normally reasonable in this town.

Mencilis Cave

Caverns & Caves
Mencilis Cave, nestled in the picturesque Safranbolu district, is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The journey to the cave is quite accessible by car, with free parking available nearby. However, be prepared for a workout as you ascend numerous stairs to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll be greeted by an impressive 400-meter expanse filled with fascinating rock formations and structures that invite exploration.
This cave is worth a visit! Entrance was 4TL (1€). You reach the location by car (8km from the safranbolu center). It has a free parking. Once you reach the location and parkes, then you walk a verry steep stairway made from rocks. The cave is wonderfull. Its in total more then 6km long but only the first 400m is open, whoch is enough. It has steel walkpaths and stairs. Inside is cold!!! 15'C. So be aware when going there in the summer (hot sweat outside can make you ill after the visite to the cave)

(Translated by Google) It is the experience of 26.08.2024. The entrance of the cave, located in the Safranbolu district, is easy to reach by car and can be reached by following a short path, which can be called a path, and there is free parking. To get to the cave, you have to climb a lot of stairs and it gets tiring. You can buy tickets from the box office at the entrance. Under 6 years old is free. There are full and student tariffs, if I'm not mistaken, 60 TL for full and 40 TL for student. Some people say it's too cold inside, but we didn't think it was cold at all :) Considering that the formations inside are the work of nature, the images look magnificent, but the interior lighting is generally chosen as yellow and orange, and in my opinion, there is not enough lighting. The length of the cave is said to be 6 km, but the part open to visitors is 400 meters. If you visit Safranbolu, I can say that it is one of the few places worth seeing. (Original) 26.08.2024 deneyimidir.

(Translated by Google) I went in the second week of July. Entrance fee is 75 TL. Credit card is not accepted. Cash only. Don't come from Karabük. Navigation brings you through absurdly deserted roads that even an off-road vehicle would have difficulty with. You should definitely come from Safranbolu. The roads are rough in places, but at least they are asphalted until the Cave. The roads are single lane and very winding. It will be busy on the weekend. It is better to go early. It's very cool inside and the atmosphere is amazing. (Original) Temmuz ayının ikinci haftasında gitmiştim. Giriş ücreti 75 tl. Kredi kartı geçerli değil. Sadece nakit.

National park
Nature & Parks
Wooded nature spot that's home to wild bears, wolves & vultures, with hiking paths & mountaineering.
I would recommend this place to be visited to everyone one comes to Ankara, it’s almost 60 mins from the center of Ankara. There are many shops and Thermal hotels at that area. You can spend two days at one of the hotel there and visit this park in day or night. Do not forget to go to the summit of the mountain located at the same road this park. Nice atmosphere especially if you have a family☺️

Relax and breathe away from the city, during the cold weather make sure to wear enough thermal clothes. There is area for BBQ 🍖, avoid late visits after sunset. Family friendly and Access pass with 10 TL

Beautiful park. Unfortunately the tails are closed currently due to fire restrictions. Would have been nice to see on their website before we drove 1.5 hours. But, we will return when it’s open again for hiking.

A great place in the middle of the woods, surrounded by mountains and amazing landscapes. It's perfect for hiking, almost 10k steps, I really recommend to wear extra layers of clothes to avoid the cold weather during autumn and winter.

If you like walking and trekking in a beautiful and safe forest area, this is the ideal place to go.The forest park, situated at an altitude of 975 m (3,200 ft), has picnic places and well-marked hiking trails, and offers a relaxing retreat from the city. The region’s many natural hot mineral springs have been developed to create spa resorts. One of the best of these is Kızılcahamam. Of all the thermal spas scattered around Ankara, it is also the most suited to tourists. There are comfortable hotels and other facilities for visitors who want to stay for a few days. Some treatments involve not only bathing in, but also drinking, the mineral-rich waters, which contain bicarbonate, chloride, sodium and carbon dioxide

Yedigöller National Park

National reserve
Nature & Parks
Yedigöller National Park, located about 42 kilometers north of Bolu, is a breathtaking nature retreat known for its seven interconnected lakes, lush forests, and diverse wildlife. The park offers visitors the chance to explore small waterfalls, scenic trails, and even hot springs. Despite the road leading to the park being in need of repair, it's a must-visit destination for those seeking a romantic and tranquil forest experience.
Highly recommend going to see the Büyükgöl during the fall. It has been one of the best places we have visited in Türkiye. I read a review that said people must be using filters, but I didn’t put filters on any of my photos, the Yedigöller is just that impressive. Additionally, the time of year you visit is important. We went in November when the leaves were changing and it was absolutely picturesque.
ES K — Google review
A very beautiful and wonderful place, especially in autumn. It gets crowded on weekends, and the road requires attention, but it’s definitely worth it
Hamit Y — Google review
We visited Yedigöller at the weekend. The weather was great. Along the way, I recommend stopping at Kapankaya seyir terasi... It's an inconspicuous stop, so I recommend following the GPS. There is a narrow road leading to yedigöller and it is forbidden to stand on the side of the road. But the park was full of people and everyone stopped. That is why there was a ban on the way back, for the way back you had to go in the direction of Mengen. Which is a longer and, as they said, worse way. The road from Bolu was good, in places it was completely new. There were a lot of people in the park. The leaves were yellow in places, but mostly still green. Don't believe the photos on social networks, they use a filter. But it's a nice place and everyone should visit it at least once. The lakes have a beautiful turquoise color.

15/11/2025 : Instagram tarafından öldürüldü :( 50k people, almost 10k cars...1.5hr drive on an unmaintained local road to reach a place that is no bigger than 2 acres and where there is no natural light after 3-4pm... + with such huge crowds in such a tiny place expect the usual crazy littering (dozens of water and ayran bottles scattered everywhere, even saw a whiskey bottle floating) and general ridiculous behaviours (constant honking, loud music playing, wannabe instagramers shooting nonstop, cigarette packs and cigs everywhere...). The place itself might be ok when alone tho fairly secluded, but is really not worth the hype in those conditions. Avoid this place!

Amazing experience! I went there from Istanbul, i took a bus to Bolu and then hitchhiked to the national park ! It was 7 in the morning, the first driver left me in the middle of the road And I was a bit worried not to find another driver! But after 9 you will find plenty, The park is amazing, worth visiting

I just love this lake, anyone who comes to Bolu should visit and enjoy this beauty ♥️ We visited it almost everyday during our stay and enjoyed it every time differently Once at sunset, another time during the morning with some fog and so on it keeps changing and giving you another side of it's beauty The place is full of benches for picnics and also a walking path around the lake, and the trees there are just magnificently tall big and just magical ✨

Cehennemağzı Caves

Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
Ancient caves with an underground lake, said to be where Hercules fought the hound of Hades.
We visited mid week in late April. Really cool place! Information boards in English and Turkish so no need to do a load of research ahead of time. Good amount of parking. Free with Museum card (or 40TL per person if you do not have a museum card). There is a restaurant near to the caves if you need food or drink (we did not). All caves are great, but I really loved the Cave of Cerberos (all pictures attached are from there), but the other two caves are good too. I would say that the other two caves are suitable for young children but Cerberus's is nitas stairs very steep and slippy. Wear trainers. Take your camera!

Three wonderful historical caves near the center of Ereğli, imbued with mythological significance. As with everything in the Zonguldak province, it has so much potential if only more resources and care were to be invested in it.

Lake Abant is a freshwater lake in Turkey's Bolu Province in northwest Anatolia, formed as a result of a great landslide. The lake lies at an altitude of 1,328 m at a distance of 32 km from the provincial seat of Bolu. It is a vacation and excursion spot for both Turkish and foreign travellers due to the natural environment, forests, and accessibility by car. It is served by a 21 km road. It is three hours' drive from İstanbul and Ankara. Lake Abant is a natural park. The lake covers an area of 1.28 km2 and its deepest spot is 18 m. The lake area has two large hotels in the immediate vicinity of the shores, as well as other amenities and services for visitors, who sometimes alternatively opt for the family guesthouses available in the nearby town of Mudurnu, 18 km to the south. European black pine, Scots pine, oaks, ashes, hornbeams, willows, junipers, tamarisks, hazels, common medlar, and strawberry trees are among the tree species that make up the lake's woodlands, and there are wild boars, fallow deer, roe deer , red deer, brown bears, wolves, red foxes, jackals, and rabbits in the surrounding forests, which makes the lake a prized location for hunters during the season. The lake is inhabited by the Abant trout Salmo abanticus, a (sub)species of trout which is strictly endemic to this lake only.

Genoese Castle

Beaches
the view is very pretty, the castle is not much but the scenery is lovely. if you go on foot from Akcakoca city center, it's 4-5km (but very uphill downhill all the time!!). There's a little cafè at the castle.
Valentina V — Google review
I was expecting more to be honest. It is just a stop by the beach and little is to see about the castle.
Rawan A — Google review
A bit off the beaten track, but I think this could be quite an attraction in years to come. But having made the effort to locate the site, it was disappointing to arrive at what is effectively a building site that is not currently open to visitors. There is clearly a lot of work in progress to preserve these ruins for future generations, so will need to revisit once the works are completed.

Akçakoca Fortress is located near Akçakoca city within the boundaries of province of Düzce. Akçakoca Fortress was built on a cliff which has 100 meters height. There are semicircle eaves on the west wall of the fortress. There is a bastion on the south wall and a cistern in the courtyard. The walls of the fortress were built by using ruble stone and brick. Genoeses put their coat of arms on the wall of Yoros Fortress in İstanbul and Amasra Fortress to illustrate their contribution to building. Results of some chemical analyses on brick and plaster used in Akçakoca Fortress show that it was built in the same period with Yoros Fortress and Amasra Fortress. This supports the idea that this building was used by the Genoeses. Güzeldere Falls Nature Park

Nature & Parks
Forested recreational area with a high waterfall, plus camping, cabins & a picnic space.
Guzeldere Falls Nature Park is surrounded by lush forests and vibrant greenery. The park offers multiple viewpoints to admire the waterfall's beauty from different angles. Walk to waterfall about 15 minutes from the car park.

As far as I saw there is wc inside the park and a buffet. There is picnic sites too. You should walk 300 meters stair road if you want to see fall.
M. S — Google review
One of the best places you may visit. Welcoming and friendly people. Excellent for family camping.
Rashad Q — Google review
The park itself is quite lovely, though it's worth noting that there's a car entrance fee. Once inside, you'll find it to be quite expansive, offering numerous seating areas. Additionally, there's a supermarket on the premises, although it happened to be closed during our visit. One of the notable features is the generously sized play area, perfect for families. However, the standout feature is the Güzeldere waterfall, which holds the distinction of being the largest waterfall in Düzce. To reach this impressive cascade, you'll need to descend a total of 375 steps. The descent is relatively manageable, but the ascent can be a bit tiring. Despite the effort, the experience is truly rewarding, making the fatigue well worth it. This location truly embodies a mix of natural beauty and recreational opportunities, making it an awesome destination to explore.
Nooor H — Google review
A beautiful place to visit. It takes 375 steps to go down to see the waterfalls. It's worth it. If you go there with an organised tour there isn't much time to sit , relax and perhaps have a meal. We could only have coffee. I'd you go there privately, recommend to have breakfast and walk around.

Turan K — Google review
For the most part this place is very pretty although not well mapped out, it’s difficult to find out where you can actually go, but I think it will benefit from a site map. If you come in the winter, roads are rough, and everywhere is closed. But the river is beautiful. There is no access to the waterfall from here, you had to drive 35 minutes around the hills and even then it’s hard to get as roads are very bad. There is a lot of potential here but needs improvement, however, very beautiful area.

A beautiful way to spend the day. Entrance fee is 15TL, Tent Camping is 30TL, Vehicle Camping is 35TL per day (August 2018). There's a picnic area by the main entrance. We chose to drive the somewhat dangerous road closer to the falls. Please be advised, the only road (from inside the park's main entrance) is not for inexperienced drivers. Once you've successfully passed the park's harrowing road, you'll see a small building on your right with rooms for rent and an attached restaurant. Directly to your left is where you'll find the "upper hike" which takes you through the cliff side and offers a view of the falls from above. If you drive down the short slope, you'll have to choose between left and right. There's picnic tables set by the stream. These tables cost 10TL per day. The WC in this area is 1TL. Also to your left, is where you'll trek through water, rocks, and "natural" walkways to get to the falls. If you're in the area, this park really is a must see - at least once. FYI: Wear a good pair of sneakers or hiking boots, bring a change of clothes, small children must be carried most/all the way to and from the falls. Easiest path with small kids is from below and through the water. Charcoal, for bbq, is usually cheapest at Şok in Karasu.

Very nice place, the river water is cold and I enjoyed walking in it. Also it’s a good place for camping. Note: before you go there you need to be prepared and wear suitable shoes and clothes because you will not enjoy it if you don’t walk inside the river.

The restaurant is affordable. As always, plastic bottles are in the river. Other than that, it's amazing. (Original) Longoz a yillar önce gelmiştik..milli parklara bağlanmış.Giris ücretli 15Tl idi . We visited during November, and it was still beautiful. Maybe in the summer you can enjoy it more and swim inside. It's a large lake and there's many restaurants and shops around the whole area. We want to visit again soon. We stayed in a bungalow nearby with a view of this lake.

Pink Rocks, also known as Kefken Pink Rocks, is an ancient quarry featuring pink stone along a rocky waterfront path. It's a popular spot for swimming and photography, offering stunning views of the pink surroundings. Visitors can also enjoy local cuisine at the Pink Mansion nearby. The area is best explored during low tide when more rocks are visible and accessible for walking. Many recommend catching the breathtaking sunset at this picturesque location, despite occasional crowds and slippery surfaces.
Went to this place right before my departure from Turkey. Really enjoyed the view from this place. Sea seems limitless, and the rocks provide some kind of a spirit to the whole picture. Very beautiful place.

Nice view of Blacksea, with big waves hitting to the cliffs. Rocks with interesting colours. Easy to arrive at the destination. But it's very sad to see that garbages around thrown carelessly.

Wonderful place to visit. The rock is actually pink. I was there when very few people were around so it was easy to take good photos. I'm sure it will look lovely at sunset time. I think it is best to go at low tide; you can see more rocks and walk on them.

Crazy waves on stormy days, so amazing to stand by the water and get splashed completely by the salty sea. Don't fall in!

The environment is very wasted. The roads are horrible. There is no pink rock's any more. But the sea view and passing 🐬 dolphins are wonderful.

50 eur for two portions of french fries, two sucuk sandwiches and four salep drinks. And the both toilets were closed because “the water froze”. At +5C. See the picture what your outfit may look like after using their 15 eur cable car. No, this hasn’t washed off in the washing machine or with a wet wipe. PS Dry cleaning didn't work.

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Mountain & waterfall views from a burial complex for a founding figure of the early Ottoman Empire.
Osman Ghazi's wife and father in law lie here in their graves. This place is more crowded than the graves of Ertugrul and Osman & Orhan. If you're around definitely visit and make dua. There's a nice park and several cafes around so this place offers bit of everything.

This was a really Nice place to visit if you want to learn about some historic places and people. Mountain views Beautiful place to visit. Food and drink or snacks is also available here. A very detailed history from Osman Gazi onwards. A few stalls to buy your Kayi Tribe souvenirs etc.

This beautiful place is full of spirituality and peace. Every corner of it brings a lot of history to your imagination. The only thing that I wish it were better was the road leading to it. Unfortunately the road, in my opinion, is not suitable to the public use, it was bumpy and the road works are left unfinished. Other than that this place should be put in every traveler's must-see list in Türkiye.

I don't know if I should recommend as it is meant to be visited if you are interested to know the history of Osman Gazi. This place was so serene, peaceful and calm. The view is nice too. There's Orhan Gazi mosque nearby, Bala Hatun's tomb was located at the same place there. I went to this place after opting for the tour from Old Istanbul tour agent. I am glad to learn about Osman Gazi history.

Hiking Trails
View talks.. Good spot for hiking. Recommended in October or November.
Khadija A — Google review
Such a beautiful spot!! We went in October during the week and weren’t charged any entrance fee. It’s true there is litter on the grounds (so sad) but it doesn’t really take away from the experience. Especially if you’re only visiting on a day trip. I wouldn’t call the hike difficult but the trail has overgrown shrubs in some areas that are thorny so I recommend long sleeves and pants. There were also goats with accompanying dogs and the dogs can be aggressive, but if you show dominance and wave your arms and yell, they’ll run back. Don’t let them scare you. It’s a fairly easy trail to follow but I had a lot of trouble finding a map online beforehand. When we got there, the restaurant owner at Kilimli Restaurant had maps so if you’re worried you could ask him for one. It took us about 2.5 hours to complete the loop and end up at the restaurant again. Please remember to clean up after yourself, there isn’t maintenance on the trail and it’s such a shame to see this beautiful spot tarnished by people’s lack of care for the environment. We need to do better.

Beautiful mosque with wide yard and nice scenery. There is a place outside for wudhu too. The mosque is close to a souvenir and Uludag Mountain as well
Rodiah W — Google review
"It is a beautiful mosque that has become famous as the Green Mosque. Evliya Çelebi The construction of the mosque, which was started by Çandarlı Halil Hayreddin Pasha in 1378-1379, was completed by his son Ali Pasha in 1391-1392 after the death of the pasha. The construction of the mosque took 14 years and according to the information in its inscription, its architect was Musaoğlu Hacı. During the War of Independence, the Greek forces that occupied the city stole its plaques, carpets and rugs; they tried to burn the columns and altars by pouring oil on them. The damaged building underwent serious repairs between 1956-1969 and the minaret, which was damaged in the earthquake, was restored with its tiles and gained its current appearance. The single-domed mosque, consisting of a harim and a narthex, has a rectangular plan. There is an inverted tulip motif under the columns at its two corners. The top row is decorated with an oyster motif. The minaret, a masterpiece that gave its name to the mosque, left its mark on its era with its tile decorations. The tiles on the minaret alone form a zigzag motif in turquoise, green and purple. The marble mihrab has strong stonework and is the first marble mihrab of the Ottoman Empire. The mosque's last restoration was carried out in 2015.

Peaceful place to be. The mosque is beautifully crafted with green and blue black-lined tile decoration inside. Which dates back to 15th century.

The Iznik Green Mosque (Yeşil Cami) is a historic Ottoman mosque located in the town of Iznik, Turkey. Built between 1378 and 1391 during the reign of Sultan Murad I. It was commissioned by Sadrazam (Grand Vezier) Çandarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha. The mosque is one of the earliest examples of Ottoman architecture, showcasing the transition from Seljuk to classical Ottoman style. Its name comes from the green tiles that once adorned its minaret, though much of the original tilework has been lost or faded over time. The mosque features a single dome over the prayer hall, a portico with elegant arches, a slender minaret decorated with glazed green and turquoise tiles which remains its most distinctive feature. Today, the Green Mosque stands as an important cultural and architectural landmark in Iznik, attracting visitors interested in early Ottoman design and history.

Wooden square-shaped mansion owned by Atatürk with a columned terrace overlooking the Marmara Sea.
One of the residential houses that was used by the greatest leader of all times, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. At the first decade of Turkish Republic, important meetings held in the place. There is a guided tour every 20mins and there is a cafeteria near by the building in which you can have hot/cold drink options.

Nice location. We parked our car near the court complex and walked. Vehicles cannot reach close to the house — you need to walk or use the cycle track. We saw buggy cars near the monument; they might have come from the entry on the other side. You can view the complex from outside without an entrance fee. The garden is nice.

Osama W — Google review
Yuruyen Kosk is known to locals as "the walking house". This is because Ataturk decided the building was too close to a large tree. Instead of removing the tree, he had the mansion moved. Ataturk first visited Yalova in 1927. He had specifically chosen this as his destination as he wanted to make use of the local thermal facilities. Whilst he was staying in this area he stayed in Baltaci Farm which was a wooden pavilion next to the thermal bath. Ataturk commissioned the construction of a mansion for himself in Millet Farm and this was finally completed in 1929. The originally house made from wood was renovated later. The two-story building has three lounges and eleven rooms and is well equipped with furniture that has been taken from the Dolmabahce Palace.

Greek Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
Aya Yorgi Church, also known as the Church of St. George, is a reconstructed Greek Orthodox cathedral located on Buyukada, the largest of the Princes Islands. The church boasts a modest exterior and a lavish interior with exceptional Greek-style icons, including the famous icon of Saint George. While reaching the church involves a challenging trek up a steep hill, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking views from the top.
I’m in good shape and healthy, but it still took me about 20 minutes of walking uphill, with a couple of stops along the way to catch my breath. If you’re not in great shape or need mobility assistance, this climb could be really tough. That being said, the hike is absolutely worth it! The view from the top is stunning, and the cute little church is a must-see. Plus, it’s free, which makes it even better. Highly recommended when you’re on the island! P.S. The church closes at 16:00, so make sure to get there before it closes. Also, if you’re taking the island buses, keep in mind that each way costs about 65TL. On the way back to the island center, there aren’t any ticket machines to recharge your transport card, so make sure you’ve got enough money on it for both directions. And don’t forget to bring water, sunscreen, and a hat for the road!

The Aya Yorgi Church is located on Büyükada Island in Istanbul, Turkey. It is a notable landmark that offers a glimpse into the region's history and culture The church provides a serene atmosphere, making it a place for reflection and appreciation of historical significance. Visitors can learn about its history. Understand the church's role in the local community and its cultural significance. The church's architecture reflects its rich history, with elements that showcase its importance in the region. Although specific details about its design might be limited, its presence on the island adds to the area's cultural heritage. Tips Respect the site: Be mindful of any rules or restrictions when visiting. Take photos: Although a photo graph is not allowed at some parts, you can capture the church's architecture and the surrounding scenery.
Ms A — Google review
The church is on a summit in the big island “buyukadad” , which is a bit hard to reach specially in summer weather as the road goes uphill and there’s no way other than walking. But it also provides you so many beautiful scenes and when you go up high enough you can see parts of Istanbul across the sea which is breathtaking. Inside the church is so quiet, relaxing and charming. The building is not that big. In the end it is worth experiencing this whole combination of nature, history and religion.
Ava H — Google review
Beautiful place worth all the effort to get there. You will experience a fantastic view of the Marmara sea. The monastery is also very beautiful, well decorated inside!

Amazing place to visit for those who enjoys a long walk up in the hill with super picturesque views. Church was already closed when we reached ( closing 4pm) but the view was worth it all the way! Definitely place to explore while being in Princess Islands. On the was back we took mini bus and it was quick ride to reach back to port. Left with loads of beautiful pics and few thousands of steps tracked by the phone 😅 Leaving few pics here to give you a motivation for a climb 😁🙌
XENIA T — Google review
Ayayorgi Monastery – A Heavenly Climb Above the Sea Reaching Ayayorgi Manastırı on Büyükada is a journey in itself — one that begins with the gentle waves of the Bosphorus. From Kabataş, the ferry glides across the sparkling sea, your İstanbulkart opening the way to another world. When you arrive at the island, a local bus (again with your trusty İstanbulkart) takes you up towards Lunapark — the last stop before the climb. From there, the real adventure begins: a 20-minute walk uphill, where every step feels like a pilgrimage. The path is steep but sacred — after all, God’s path is always uphill. The air grows quieter, the sounds of the city fade, and all that remains is the whisper of the wind through the pine trees and the distant shimmer of the Marmara Sea. When you finally reach the top, the fatigue melts away. The view is breathtaking — the sea stretching endlessly, the sun dipping low and painting the sky in shades of gold and rose. Nature here feels untouched, almost divine. The monastery stands peacefully, watching over the island like an old guardian, while below, the waves gently embrace Büyükada’s shores. It’s not just a place — it’s a feeling. The beauty, the silence, the climb — all remind you that the most beautiful views always come after the hardest paths.
