I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Hall Place in SE London. It’s a beautiful spot to relax, with plenty of space to picnic along the river. The Queen’s Beasts topiary are a real highlight – quirky and impressive at the same time – and the historic house and gardens give the place a lovely character. There’s free parking which makes it easy to get to, and the café is decent for a bite to eat or a coffee. I also enjoyed seeing the owls and the butterfly house, which added something a bit different to the visit. Overall, a great mix of history, nature, and open space – well worth a visit.

I have been going to Hall Place since I was a child. It’s a beautifully kept set of green spaces from formal to more relaxed. The cafe which overlooks the water caters well for families. The mini train that is run by the local train society on Sundays from Spring to Autumn makes my child’s day each time we see it. The greenhouse current houses a butterfly feature which is magical. All well worth the visit.

I spent a sunny day at Hall Place & Gardens, and honestly, it’s such a relaxing spot. The open green space is huge — perfect for a walk, a picnic, or just lying back and watching the clouds drift by. The gardens are really well kept, with different areas to explore, from the walled gardens and old trees to the riverside walk along the Cray.

We had such a lovely day at Hall Place and Gardens! The butterfly garden was absolutely magical, and the apple orchard along with the many other fruit trees made exploring so much fun. The gardens are beautifully maintained, full of vibrant flowers, and perfect for a peaceful stroll. My kids loved exploring the grounds and discovering all the little nooks and play areas. The art gallery was a lovely addition, adding a creative touch to the visit. The atmosphere is calm and family-friendly, making it a great spot for a picnic or a day out in nature. A truly charming place to spend quality time outdoors! 🌸🌿☀️

Lovely, well maintained gardens. We visited the Butterfly House and it was amazing. It was so relaxing to see all the beautiful butterflies fluttering around. Will definitely return.

Hall Place is not far from me so I go there often. Parking is free, thus far. The gardens are free. The cafè can be a bit slow when busy, but the staff are always friendly. The topiary is a main feature in the grounds behind the house, and it's kept in excellent condition. Well worth a visit.

Brief flying visit. Loved the butterflies but didn't have time to enjoy the river walks. Cream tea was good value though.

Love it! Great fun. Great night out. Easy to make bets once you understand how to do it (the pamphlet you get on entry has a brilliant how to!). The only downside is that there aren’t enough people on the desks on busy race days (Friday and Saturday nights) so the queues to place or settle bets could take a long time. You don’t have to bet though and just enjoy the festivities!

Visited with my son's. We hadn't been for years. Parked easily in there free car park. There is free entry on a Wednesday, but they offered a pack online for £10 each (Only for 18+) which includes a racecard, drink & quick bites meal (Cheeseburger / Hotdog & Fries) Plus re-entry with a racecard on a Friday/Saturday in the next 3months. It's a really good deal, (burger on it's own was £4). It's a shame they don't offer a deal for under 18's without the racecard though. The 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed it, despite it being very quiet and very wet later on. We had a few small bets, won a few but lost more🤣 Very enjoyable night. We will look forward to coming again. For those that live outside of the M25 as we are, remember that Romford is in the ULEZ.

Did afternoon meal with a group, had a great time with great staff who looked after our group. Only had 1 problem with four people who sat on one of our tables and refused to move. Not the venue or staffs fault, just a group of selfish people who hopefully didn't get any winners.

Had a work night out here at the Paddock restaurant. Was a brilliant night. The staff were attentive the food was really good. Could have 3 courses. Our tables were just above the finish line too. Was helpful with the guy coming round to take our bets. First time going to the dog races and would certainly do it again. Parking is limited but we knew that going.

Free parking for customers if you get there before gates open. Smooth entrance and God seating areas. Bar prices are excellent, less than £30 for 6 drinks. Good service at the tote desks Well recommended for a great night of entertainment

The 125 acres of gardens are stunning and a massive part of the attraction. They are meticulously maintained and offer something different in every season. Picnic is a good idea: While there are on-site cafes and restaurants, they can be a bit pricey. The grounds offer numerous scenic spots for a picnic. ​Wear comfortable shoes: The gardens and lake walk cover a significant amount of ground. ​Time it right: If you are a history fanatic, plan for half a day in the castle/formal gardens. If you have children, plan for the whole day to enjoy the mazes and playgrounds.

Such a beautiful place to visit and plenty of history... looking around the castle it self is very interesting, I would recommend taking the audio guide when offered to you as has plenty of information, as if it busy its hard to get to the information signs which are dotted about. The gardens are well looked after and beautiful to wander around on a sunny day. They have cafes and shops to look around to. The grounds are fine for wheel chairs and a buggy but the castle isn't suitable

In November, they also have a great membership promotion, which makes it an even better time to join and come back again. A perfect mix of heritage and natural beauty.

Beautiful castle and grounds with a lot of history. Be prepared to spend quite a few hours here. The water maze was fun, and not just for children, be warned, you may get wet, but not if you are careful 😉. Autumn was a great time to visit for the leaf colour but I would imagine it is stunning anytime of year. Definitely recommended.

My wife and and I only got to see castle and gardens because we over 6 hours of time to kill before our flight from Gatwick Airport.It was was one of the best decisions we have ever made, we were lucky with the weather, it was a lovely sunny and warm day and the castle and gardens looked superb, but the garden were outstanding, ! The castle itself is worth seeing being the home of Anne Boleyn and her family, but we found the gardens magnificent and well worth coming to visit alone.

Definitely recommend to visit. Please allow between 4 hours min to visit the castle and enjoy the gardens if you love Nature. Perfect for solo, family days out. Preferably try to avoid to visit on rainy days. Otherwise a lovely experience 👌

We visit a lot of NT, English Heritage and other Historical properties and I have to say that this place is at the top of the pile. Superb gardens and lake, fantastically maintained. Beautiful house steeped in Tudor history (Anne Boleyn). Also Falconry displays, Pedalo hire and more. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Driving back from Hever we found the entrance to this place and decided to stop off. Really glad we did as we’ll definitely come back for a proper visit. The National Trust staff were very inviting and helpful. There are lots of different garden areas to explore and because it’s on a hill, the views are great. There is a cafe there for drinks and cakes at the Old Stables. It’s dog friendly too.

A brilliant place to visit to see lots of types of mushrooms including amanitas and devils fingers! You can have a good walk round the garden and see all the different types of trees too. A really good outdoor play area for the kids in the woods and a quaint little cafe serving good food. Well worth a visit and dog friendly too.

Beautiful Garden, which I am sure we did not see all of. As we found it a smaller garden. We did the autumn trail which was really fun. I was very excited to see a toadstool. There appeared to be only one female toilet? Or that is what I was told waiting at the back at a very long queue. I did not wait and left the queue. I had a delious flap jack and my husband had a brownie, which we enjoyed whilst we waited for our children to finish the graffiti workshop. This workshop started half an hour late, as the tutor had not turned up, but the staff kept us informed of this and it was not a problem.

What a tremendous place to spend an afternoon! A late April visit enabled us to see the bluebells, tulips and cherry blossom in their full glory - but there was plenty else to enjoy besides, including some breathtaking views of the countryside for miles around and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. On a sunny mid-week afternoon we found plenty of parking with toilets, shop and garden entrance nearby. Picnic benches were located past the entrance with a pretty view and games available to keep kids entertained. Across the other side of the garden from the entrance is the tea room with indoor and outdoor seating (though the indoor seating area isn't vast and could be hard to get on wetter/colder days), and more toilets. A golf buggy was ferrying less able visitors from entrance to tea room and back. Definitely worth a return visit to see what's here at other times of year.

Routes through the forest are well sign posted and vary in length. The gardens are well maintained and pretty. The park looked fun for the kids and there's a cafe too! Several benches are avaliable for rests when coming back up the hill 🙂

Wonderfully peaceful place to enjoy nature and bring your blood pressure down a few notches. This was our second ever visit here and it didn't disappoint. Great display of flowers of different kinds and guaranteed you'll have more than a passing interest in trees when you wander down the pathways and check out the different species that range from saplings to enormous mature specimens. A great way to spend a relaxing few hours.

Very beautiful garden. Apparently, it’s especially lovely in autumn. We went on a weekday before noon, and it was very quiet. We had a very peaceful and enjoyable time.

We went to Chartwell on an October weekday over the autumn half term. It proved to be a popular destination and the car parks were very full. There are toilets a fairly large, modern cafe and a gift shop close to the reception area. If you wish to see the house then it is necessary to book a time slot in order to control number of visitors inside. The house has beautiful views from the windows and is fascinating, being packed with family furniture, photos and pictures. It also contains many souvenirs and gifts received over Churchill's long and distinguished life and career as well as a collection of his many uniforms. There are helpful and knowledgeable guides in each room The gardens and grounds are extensive and were lovely even on a rather dull autumn day. In summer they must be ablaze with colour. Churchill's large studio is situated a little distance from the house and the walls are lined with many of his paintings. There is an interactive guide which gives information on each of them. The gardens are reasonably accessible but may cause a problem for the less mobile as there are quite a few steps and not all have handrails. There is a shuttle bus for those who would find the steepish journey from reception to the house too much or are tired after walking the grounds.

Excellent. The warm and convivial atmosphere of the house is palpable. This was a home, and that sense has been beautifully kept. And what a home! The walled garden is stunning in the summer months. The large estate and woods are perfect for exploring or just admiring the views. Absolutely worth repeated visits. Do book in advance, especially in the summer. It gets busy and entrance to the house is timed.

This was a very special, since Sir Churchill was someone I have been admitted and studied about. If anyone likes a history, appreciate a true beauty of British culture and their heritage as myself I would truly recommend this place. There is so much to see. The house itself has lots of room, then you got a big landscaping and trails around to hike, besides the main House there is art house - where all Sir Churchill painting are placed, cafe shop, local shop. However, my day made people who works there. Each room have a person who are very happy to answer any questions you have, full of passion and knowledge while telling the story. I was very fascinated and felt part of it. Each person was amazing, I didn't catch all names but I would love to Thank you all, especially Paul "Sir Churchill work room', two gents in art room (where I was amazed and like hypnotised listing) - indeed, everyone who I had a pleasure to meet - Thank you for your time. Highly recommend. Besides, I have met very helpful and kind people in town. Thank You - you restored my hope for kindness. For anyone who use public transport, please ensure about the bus who runs only 3x a day.

As Churchill used to say, “A day without Chartwell is a day wasted.” I understood what he meant after visiting this historical place for the first time. The estate is vast and beautifully organized. The rooms are fascinating, filled with countless items from Churchill’s life. There are also many paintings - not only by Churchill himself, but also works by artists like Claude Monet and Townsend. The house has retained its old charm; walking through it feels like stepping into a time capsule. You’ll find numerous artefacts from the Second World War - Churchill’s uniforms, documents, photographs, and gifts he received from world leaders. My favorites were his cigar boxes, Napoleon’s tea set, and the glittering gifts from Josef Stalin - silver, glass, and gem-studded fruit bowls among them. There are many other treasures from the most prominent figures of his era like General de Gaulle, King Abdul Aziz or Franklin D. Roosevelt to name few. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with scenic paths, gardens, and ponds all around. If the weather is good, don’t miss a stroll through the woods beyond the ponds - the tree house there is a highlight, and yes, even adults can fit inside! ;) There’s also plenty of practical convenience: a large car park, a spacious National Trust café, and well-run facilities. I’ve been visiting Chartwell for many years, and it always has something new to offer. Their current Halloween-themed activities are great fun for children. I’ll definitely be back - a truly inspiring place, steeped in history and nature.

What a history and what a well looked after home of great politician Winston Churchill. In fact, this looks like a very well presented exhibition how the great man lived and did. The grounds and gardens are equally beautiful. The facilities provided, like parking, cafeteria, restaurant etc are more than adequate. However, considering all the above the entry fee still seems a bit steep as compared to other similar properties of National Trust.

Visited Chartwell House on the 5th Nov. Sadly the house was closed for decorating for Christmas. However the gardens were stunning and well worth a visit in of themselves. The views were stunning and serene. A nice place to decompress. It would have been nice to see Winston Churchills home. But give me an excuse to visit again. Also sampled their spicy bean soup and had to have some apple crumble cake, made from apples from the grounds, delicious.

Absolutely fascinating glimpse into Churchill's private home life. The house is beautifully maintained, staffed by informative volunteers. The grounds are stunning. There's a great café too. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend as a day out.

I visited here for the first time ever, and I was very impressed with the service at the first point of contact - at reception, where we made a payment for three of us and then we were given a number in the queue and then we waited a short while while we had ordered something from the bar to eat, and by the time we finished the food, it was our assigned time to play golf. On the way upstairs, we were greeted by Leona, who was smiling and greeted us very nicely and told us the many rules that we had to abide by. She was very helpful and very courteous while delivering this important information and my feedback today - is just as gratitude to her, to thank her for her warm greetings and a smiling face as she welcomed, us to the area where you collect the balls from and advised, us to go upstairs to our assigned bay. I would however recommend one thing despite having had a great experience playing golf and the whole evening was amazing. Could I recommend that Leona be provided with a tall chair, so that she can sit up high, while welcoming the clients, as the poor lady was standing and I don’t even know when her shift started but I can imagine it would be very hard for her stand there for the duration of her whole shift. I did ask for her managers name which she told me was Bailey and I thought I would write this review and provide a constructive suggestion, which I would be very grateful if you could action. Despite this constructive suggestion, I have to say, my overall very first experience was great. So, please, Keep up the good work, you have a great team of people, even the security guards were smiling, helpful and happy and they were definitely not the normal run of the mill, serious looking intimidating security guards. We took my sister to Top Golf for her birthday and it was the best decision! The staff were incredible. They were all polite, kind and so attentive. They offered to bring out cake and sing for the celebrants birthday. One of the staff even stated that she’d only worked there a few days yet she represented the brand like someone who’s worked the years long. Will definitely be back

I was really looking forward to a fun outing at Top Golf Chigwell, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The place was overcrowded and noisy, making it hard to enjoy the games. The equipment was in poor condition—some clubs were broken or damaged, and the balls were worn out. The food and drinks were overpriced and poorly prepared. Our order took forever to arrive, and when it did, it was cold and clearly not fresh. On top of that, the staff seemed completely disorganized and uninterested in helping us, which added to the frustration. For the amount of money you pay, I expected a much higher level of service and quality. Unfortunately, this visit was stressful rather than enjoyable, and I won’t be coming back.

I visited Top Golf Chigwell for my friend’s birthday, and the experience was completely ruined from the start. From the moment we entered, we felt harassed by the staff, who were watching us like we were criminals. They even checked my license as if it might be fake, despite it being completely valid. Once we got to our bay, the staff continued following us around, making the atmosphere incredibly uncomfortable. To make matters worse, they completely messed up our beverage order—putting carbonated water in our cognac shots—which ruined the drinks and our day. Overall, the staff’s attitude and incompetence turned what should have been a fun birthday celebration into a stressful and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this location.

Absolutely awful! Staggeringly rude and disinterested staff. Managers were argumentative. We waited over 100 minutes for poor quality, dry food and were told that our complaint was, 'just like everyone else'! I cannot adequately articulate just how little every single member of staff made us feel for a 3 hour visit that was an hour longer than it should have been and cost me nearly £200. Do not waste your money on this place. It's expensive, poor quality, poorer service and proactively confrontational. Everything is paid up front and they will not refund any monies paid. If you're lucky, you'll get the complimentary offer to come back and be treated poorly on another night! And before they regurgitate their copy and paste reply to this review from the customer (don't)care department encourgaing me to submit my feedback using the email link... I HAVE! I ALWAYS DO AND I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT EITHER! JUST LIKE I KNOW YOU WON'T RESPOND TO MY MOST RECENT FEEDBACK!

Fantastic Experience at Topgolf Chigwell! I recently visited Topgolf Chigwell and had an amazing time from start to finish. The venue is modern, clean, and well-organized, with a great atmosphere that's perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit.

Charles Darwin’s home of 40 years, now an English Heritage property with a great exhibition, few lived in rooms, and extensive gardens. Allow at least an hour, plus additional time if wanting to read signs more extensively, go on a longer garden walk, or enjoy the cafe. We spent about 40-45 minutes upstairs in the five rooms - three exhibition rooms covering his life, expedition in his 20s to the southern hemisphere (HMS Beagle), and learning more about his family life and how he came to write On the Origin of Species. These rooms had nice signage, notebooks and objects from his journeys, a nice wall map of his five-year travel with quotes, and other details from his life. The remaining two rooms were his bedroom and info about the Darwin Family in the former nursery or schoolroom. Downstairs includes the dining room, billiards room, office, and lounge/seating area. It can be seen quickly, or take a few minutes with the provided audio guide from the front. Gardens are extensive. My favourite part was the gardening shed, as had a live beehive could look into plus some additional information about the plants. (Don’t worry the beehive is safe- they just used glass rather than wood for the outside of the hive, so you can see the thousands of bees at work. Truly unique!) There are also extensive plants and flowers within the garden - it was bigger than expected, and abuts a longer walk outside the property if interested. Free parking available, though can be a little tight during busy times. Shop has a nice selection of items for sale. Used bookstore is upstairs in the house (final room). Cafe a bit small, but hot drinks, a few pastries, and other cold drinks/snacks available. Toilets clean and outside near the cafe.

Down House, the home of Charles Darwin is a fantastic place to visit. The place oozes with history and explains how he came to write one of the most important theories - On the Origin of Species. The displays are very easy to follow and engaging, containing beautiful and intriguing extracts from his diaries. Be sure to explore the beautiful grounds and do some light thinking as you walk the famous Sandwalk. Car parking is limited considering the size of the property, so be prepared to find alternative spaces nearby.

Highly recommend a visit to the picturesque Down House, the countryside-home of the great naturalist Mr. Charles Darwin. He lived there for 40 years and is where he wrote his famous revolutionary book the Origin of Species. Took my son on a homeschooling excursion today and he was fascinated to learn about the carnivorous plant species that Mr. Darwin studied. You can sense the great honorary scientist's spirit still roaming his fragrantly beautiful English garden. It was a pleasure to visit Mr. Darwin's home, greenhouse laboratory, grounds and tea room. Enjoy

This was a really interesting place to visit. The upstairs of Down House focuses on Darwin's work and expeditions. The ground floor of Down House has been carefully recreated and dressed as it would have been when the family lived there. As well as giving a good overview of his career and family life, English Heritage doesn't shy away from the facts that Darwin was born into a life of wealth & privilege and never had to worry about where the funds for his work came from. The surrounding grounds are extensive and mostly comprise meadow and woodland. 1 area was closed (the fungi meadow). Plenty of space for kids to burn off excess energy. There's a large kitchen garden growing heritage varieties, a small floral garden and a hot/greenhouse. There's a café on site serving light snacks and refreshments with veggie options. Loads of seating inside and outside on the patio in good weather. Toilets are modern and everything works. Staff were universally friendly and welcoming. Top tips: Plenty of parking (overflow parking available if necessary). Buy your tickets online up to midnight the day before for a good saving. No saving if tickets booked on the day of your visit. GW 2:1 is accepted and offers tremendous value. Check opening days if visiting outside peak season as it won't be open every day. Picnic area by the tennis court. No photography allowed within any part of the house. Loads of accessibility info on the website. Accessibility dogs only allowed so you'll need to leave Rover at home. A great visit. Well done English Heritage.

My favourite place in London, it was a good experience and all the people there are lovely 🌳👏🏻 (and a delicious tea ☕) I didn't imagine to make a new friend over there. It's a place full of magic ✨ It's a basic of the history of the UK and science.

It was here that Darwin conceived his theory of evolution by natural selection, conducted extensive scientific experiments, and wrote On the Origin of Species. He conducted experiments with plants in the greenhouse and grew experimental beds in the kitchen garden. He also used the lawn to study earthworms and the adjacent woods for observation. Absolutely amazing, the audio tour is a must, one of English Heritages best sites.

If you are lucky to find Kim the volunteer (the chap in the photo) make sure to take one of his guided tours! He knows every secret of Darwin! For example, I didn't know that two of the most famous pics of Darwin where taken in the little patio just outside the house (in front of the sundial), the flooring remains the same! Also, Kim's tour is free. If you come by bus to Downe (the bus stop of Downe Church), don't make the same mistake we did in which we walked to Darwin's house via the street alongside the cars (there's no sidewalk). Instead follow the signs of the footpath to reach the house (its also a nicer walk). Oh and make sure to eat one of the apples in Darwin's orchard, who knows, maybe you'll ingest his knowledge! And finally, take a picture

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Fantastic facility, make time for coffee or food on the terrace because it's lovely. As described on the website, great fun white water rafting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a thrill!

Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

I went white water rafting with 7 mates for a birthday. An excellent experience, we loved it. Ask for Sean as your instructor he made it a 5/5 experience. We did 6 runs on the Olympic course and Sean upped the ante each time. Would highly recommend it!

Lee Valley White Water Centre delivered a brilliant day out. The staff were welcoming and made the whole experience feel easy, even for first-timers. The course has the perfect mix of fun and challenge, and everything is run smoothly from start to finish. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for something memorable.

A stunning wild botanical garden. Really awe inspiring and thoughtfully planted. Fun for children and adults, my daughter enjoyed the mud kitchen and having fun amongst the trees. Cafe was quite expensive so will bear that in mind for our next visit. Plenty of spaces to have a picnic.

Gorgeous site, especially in autumn. Lovely for walks, they have a nice gift shop too. Cafe serves delicious vegetarian and vegan options. The mud kitchen is fantastic for kids.

My daughter & I hadn't been to Wakehurst for quite a long time. I had forgotten just how beautiful it is here. We walked farther than usual and got to enjoy some of the most beautiful parts. Although be warned, when the map says it's a steep hill, it's truly steep 🤣 We certainly got out workout in!! The staff are lovely too, very helpful. It was reasonably busy for a Sunday but not overcrowded at all. We'll definitely return soon no doubt.

Great botanical garden with a variety of views. I would highly recommend visiting the Himalayan glade and pond. Probably the most amazing gardens I have ever been to! It was very impressive and large and every single part was beautiful. We spent hours looking around in the sunshine and had a great day! So much to see!

This sister to Kew Gardens is a fine place to spend a few hours wandering around the wooded estate and the attractive small mansion house. Notwithstanding the importance of the scientific and conservation carried out by the Millenium Seedbank, for many visitors the main attractions are the walking trails through the over 500 acre wooded countryside, featuring some of the world's most magnificent trees. These include a substantial number of the world's most massive tree, the giant Californian Redwood, which, despite their relative youth, have already ready reached an impressive 36 meters, and, not to be missed, are the weirdly drooping freaks of the same species. Children up to 16yoa have free entry, adults are £18.50 and young people are 50% of the adult rate. Car parking additional. Hot and cold food at the Stables Kitchen Restaurant and cafes. It is not cheap, but it is a great day out for the whole family.

Borde Hill Garden is a beautiful and peaceful place to wander — not huge, but thoughtfully designed with a lovely variety of themed areas, flower beds, and open lawns. Each section feels different, and there’s plenty of charm to take in if you enjoy a relaxed stroll surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great during my visit, which made it harder to appreciate the views fully, but it’s easy to imagine how stunning it must be on a sunny day. The grounds are well kept, and there’s a café and plant shop nearby to round off the visit.

Spent an enjoyable two hours. Had a cider in the garden cafe, wandered through the diverse gardens and woodland, and found a couple of interesting books at the secondhand cabin. Cycled here and there are plenty of stands at the end of the car park close to the entrance. Note that the only route is along Borde Hill Lane, which might be a challenge for less confident cyclists.

Beautiful garden to explore. Easier than you think to get there by foot. Cafe had delicious scones and the shop was excellent with good value plants.

A garden of rooms, many of which embrace the landscape beyond which is lovely. There is a fantastic woodland walk and I imagine lots of flowers in the summer. It’s not what I would call a destination garden more one to revisit during different months if you live near by. The Halloween decorations felt very intrusive but I imagine it’s a money spinner. The cafe is pretty but very limited food options. We had a 15 minute wait to get in as someone was buying a membership. They were having to loudly annunciate all their personal details which took ages and a problem easily resolved by filling in a form.

Lovely visit today!!! Weather was just right. We had lovely coffee to take away and enjoyed a walk and used the map we were given. Helpful staff and gardens so beautiful and suggest a visit to anyone who hasn't yet visited. Child friendly so good for families.

Lunch was delicious. Staff really friendly. Save room for cake! We had crustless quiche with salad, that was dressed sublimely. Plus a mix of the potato salad and the spelt salad. The charred vegetables were delicious. Tea, coffee and plum and custard cake to follow. Ate it too quickly for a photo.

A great visit to Borde Hill Garden near Haywards Heath, East Sussex. We spent about 3 hours wandering around looking at the beautiful plants and flowers. The house is not open to the public as the owners live there.

Thoroughly enjoyed talking the self guided tour. The glass floor gives a unique view of the Thames, but can be slightly unnerving. The engine room has the two steam engines, used to power the bascules, on display. Over all, it's very good venue for money.

One of the most important attractions in this wonderful city! Especially, if you visit it at night is way more beautiful! This bridge brings its own unique touch of beauty in London! You have to visit it with no hesitation! 🌉✨

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in London and visiting it was a fantastic experience. The views from the bridge are stunning, both of the Thames and the city. Taking the Tower Bridge Exhibition tour made the visit even better, as it gave detailed insights into how the bridge was built and the fascinating mechanism behind its operation. Walking across the glass floor was a unique highlight too, giving a completely different perspective of the bridge and the river below. The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to wait in a queue for entry, and on a sunny day this can feel a bit frustrating. Still, it’s not just a landmark to admire from outside, but also an educational and memorable experience to explore from within. Definitely worth visiting.

Walking near Tower Bridge is honestly one of the nicest things to do in London, especially if you’re trying to escape the busy streets without leaving the city. The view is unreal – you’ve got the bridge itself, which looks straight out of a postcard, the river Thames calmly flowing, and plenty of spots to just sit and chill. There’s something peaceful about hearing the water and watching the boats go by, even when there are tourists around. At sunset, the whole area lights up in warm colours and it feels kinda magical. It’s also surprisingly clean and safe, even in the evening. Loads of nice little cafes and street food stalls around if you fancy a bite, and the walk towards the south bank or down to St Katharine Docks is worth it too. You get a mix of old-school charm and modern city vibes. Would definitely recommend it for a date, a solo unwind walk, or just to take some beautiful photos. 10/10 – calming, scenic, and very London.

The Tower Bridge is a great stop if you're in the nearby area, and provides about 30min to 1 hour diversion. Combined with the free audio tour, great views complete with partial glass floor in one section, historic awe of the building process, and gift shop at the end - I would highly recommend if you're in the area. There are lifts for the tower, but I suggest/recommend you take the stairs getting some insight, facts and touch of history on the way up and down. There are benches to rest, toilets but no Air Con for most of it, however fans throughout provide plenty of relief - 84 degrees and it never felt sweltering inside. Learn how the bridge was designed, constructed and changes over the years - in particular the engine room videos and presentation on divers were really great. And whenever you're done walk along the Thames River path near the wharf and grab a bite to eat.

Good view from the top from a perspective you won't see otherwise. Short video of old footage of London was good. Information boards everywhere to enlighten visitors. On the London Pass so that makes it better value.

Gorgeous day at the Tulip Fest in April. Got there very early whilst it was quiet and we were shocked by how massive it was and how much there was to do! The tulips were gorgeous and so impressive. Great food and information everywhere, friendly staff and lots to do and see!

Amazing Autumn Atmosphere! This pumpkin farm offers an absolutely amazing experience that goes far beyond simple pumpkin picking. The overall environment is welcoming, festive, and truly captures the spirit of the season. What truly elevates this spot is the phenomenal attention to detail in the spooky decoration. It's clear a huge effort was made to create a fun, slightly eerie atmosphere, providing fantastic photo opportunities at every turn. From hay bales to haunted props, the decor makes this the ultimate autumnal destination. The selection of gourds was plentiful, and the staff were wonderful. Highly recommended for a memorable, festive, and wonderfully creepy fall It was amazing 👏 I like the environment and spooky decoration!

I went pumpkin picking, and it turned out to be the perfect autumn activity. The atmosphere was festive and full of Halloween spirit, making it a wonderful place to visit during the season. It was such a fun and memorable experience!

Pleasant few hours spent picking pumpkins and toasting marshmallows with the kids. Most of the 'growing' pumpkins had already gone, but plenty more had been shipped in and were dotted around the field to select from. Lots of different varieties also available from the stores if you don't fancy pushing a wheelbarrow around the field! Didn't fancy the Ferris wheel, but probably provides great views if you don't mind heights.

Decided to relive my teenage nostalgia and return to Shocktober for the first time in seven years. Previously it was the place to go and made for a tremendous experience. This time round, it's sadly lost its touch. Massively oversold and overcrowded, it's clear profit is put before experience whereas it once was the other way round. Thankfully I’d purchased some fast track in advance as queue times were obscene. Even still, I had to queue for 10/15 mins in fast track lanes at times. Pros -Purgatory was quality and my favourite of all time. "Free Roaming" actors like the Skinfluencers were very funny and entertaining. Set design was absolutely fantastic as always. Cons - Far too many people allowed into haunts at a time/with too little time between groups. You'd either be caught up by the group behind or catchup the one infront. This KILLED the immersion and enjoyment massively. The flouting of their own rules was not enforced? There are clear rules that say no smoking/vaping, no face masks etc yet I saw people lighting up in the queues and a fair few road men in their finest bin bag attire (to impress their underage girlfriend) walking round ballied up like they've just robbed a bank. I know it's close proximity to Crawley but come on now... Better still was “security” where only those with a bag would be searched. If you hadn’t a bag, you were free to walk in with whatever you fancied! Knife? Acid in a lucozade bottle? Drugs? Must be part of your costume eh lad. Maybe that’s a critique due to my line of work but it did feel a bit pointless. All in all a shadow of its former self. I still had fun however and glad I returned, but think this'll be the last trip full stop. Kudos to the actors and event staff, they all work hard and probably for minimum wage. Sadly I don’t think the experience will be salvageable unless they actually cap ticket numbers drastically.

We had such a fantastic afternoon at Tulleys Farm. From the beautiful fall decor, the very large pumpkin patch, the roaming singers and cast in costume to the marshmellow roast stations (or smores station as they sell a kit too), pumpkin spice latte and ferris wheel we could only have a great time. We got to pick our own pumpkins straight from the patch and carry them in a wheelbarrow made available by the team who was nothing but welcoming. Can't carry big pumpkins home ? Fear not their collection of pumpkin plush toys will definitely call your name. If coming from London, you can either take the bus or more easily take a taxi as there are some available there just waiting to get you home safe. We will definitely make it a yearly tradition !

Shocktoberfest was excellent. Live bands, loads of scary things to do. The sacare mazes were great. Loads of different food stands and bars. The ste is absolutely huge, with a great atmosphere. We will definitely be going again.

Wonderful experience. We travelled to Waterloo by train and hopped on boat to London Bridge for the Tower which was easy and entertaining. The Tower was fascinating, such history. The poppy installation was fantastic. A really good day.....but you need comfy walking shoes!

Great day out. Went on a weekend and not too busy outside of peak season. Crown Jewels clearly the highlight, and didn’t disappoint - displays nicely spaced out, not too much content to overload younger ones and up to date, but there’s also so much more to see. Poppy display was superb, exotic animals, Yeoman tour and White Tower also worth the time, with the latter having interactive area for children. Nice day out and good to take a picnic (though not lots of spaces to sit and eat).

Absolutely awesome place, went when the poppy display was on for the memorial. Got to see everything, crown jewels, the tower of London and other surrounding buildings. Was a brilliant day out. Highly recommended A+++

Enjoyed all the history The Ravens were alot bigger than I imagined. The crown Jewels were amazing and loads of gold pieces of various objects the punch bowl was massive. All the beefeaters were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely a wonderful time. As a tourist from the US, I cannot believe the amount of history in one place. You could spend an entire vacation at this site alone. Seeing highlights from the coronation amd seeing them in real life was fantastic. The displays in the White Tower were worth it alone

The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.

Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.

A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend

Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.

A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

Very nice and bright spacious many top brands stores under one roof as well as food court with various varieties of food. They managed it very well. I would really like to mention the toilets very clean. Perfect location very next to Brighton beach and 5min walk from train station.

Churchill Square is one of the largest and most popular retail destinations in Brighton and across the Sussex coast. The mall is spacious and packed with a wide variety of shops – from fashion and beauty to tech and home goods. It’s definitely a go-to spot for a proper retail therapy session. There’s a solid mix of big-name department stores and smaller retailers, plus a food court on the top floor with a good selection of places to eat. The toilets are located on the first floor, and lifts are available, making it accessible for all. It’s usually very busy on weekends, so if you prefer quieter shopping, weekdays might be better. Parking is available, which is convenient, though navigating the centre can be a bit tricky at times – the directory signage could definitely be improved, and I can see why some visitors get frustrated. A recent highlight is the opening of an IKEA shop – a great addition that gives you even more variety under one roof.

Great ambience and place to shop for new clothing and food - particularly interested in the Italian food at the top floor 😀 Justpark is close to the area for parking and cost £5.50 for up to 2 hours. It's a lovely place to visit.

Very rude interaction with the ginger security guard! I never really make reviews, but after having normally very lovely and helpful interactions with other security guards over the years in the shopping centre I was shocked to have such rude service from this one man! He shouldn’t be in a customer service role if he can’t produce one ounce of customer service! Was rather short with me when asking for directions and huffed as if he was too good to help me out! Not very good customer service at all!

Left the ikea store (also the new owners of Churchill sq) having paid £5.50 for parking (free at Southampton and Croydon stores), went through the barrier and ended up with 3 screws in my tyre. Had to have a new one fitted by a mobile fitter at the cost of £120. Ikea seem to take no responsibility to keep the Churchill so car park clean and free of such debris. They are also unwilling despite admitting the debris was there (or rather have ignored subsequent emails) to pay for the damage to my vehicle. If things change then I will alter this review.

I’m becoming far less impressed with shopping centres these days with a multitude of stores selling very bland fashion. No stylish clothes this year at all. Not sure where there’s big outlets get their design ideas from. It seems they all go to the same school of thought. Drab baggy fabric stitched together which hangs off the shoulder as an after thought to skin! Come on you big outlets let’s see some design for goodness sake!!! The only outlet worth visiting was Flannels. Having said that there were a good range of stores in this building. The place was clean and tidy and the loos clean too but not a place I would be a frequent visitor to unless the stores started to actually design clothes we all want to wear on a night out.

Fantastic place to bring the children nice long walks and just across the road there's a rock garden that the little ones can have an adventure going up and down the rock path. There's a sandy area with swings and slides and a few cafes on site what more do you need for a great day out

Preston Park, although not near the centre of Brighton, is worth a visit for the wide open space, peaceful setting and other surrounding attractions such as Preston Manor and the Rock Gardens. Various facilities including tennis courts and basketball courts, plus a choice of two cafes, the Rotunda (south end, beside the rose garden) or the Chalet Cafe (right in the middle and now open seven days a week). Sometimes also hosts a travelling circus (check online) as well as other events, including Pride On The Park which this year saw a headline performance by Mariah Carey.

The queue was big yes. Over priced? Yes. Everybody and there mother pushing past you to gain 0.01mm space? Yes. Paid 38 pounds for a bottle of wine. But it was fun

This charming park is conveniently located near Preston Park Station, or if you're up for it, you can enjoy a delightful 40-minute stroll to the beautiful Brighton beachfront.

Nice park. Great to chill with the family. Table tennis table at the back which is always fun if you remember to bring your bat and balls. It's a nice place to be on a good old English summers day. Can't speak for what it might be like for winter, so I will have to update this in a few months time

A fantastic experience and absolutely worth it! The views from the top are incredible — you can see all of London’s major landmarks so clearly. The ride is smooth, relaxing and perfect for both kids and adults. The staff are friendly and organised, making the whole process easy from start to finish. It’s a great family activity, amazing for photos, and something everyone should try at least once. Highly recommended!

The ride is smooth and lasts long enough to really enjoy the scenery. Queues can get a bit long during peak hours, but they move quickly and are well-organized. Staff were friendly and the capsules were clean and comfortable. Definitely worth it, especially around sunset!

I’ve been wanting to take the kids on The London Eye for a while but I’m glad I waited until they were older otherwise I think they would have got bored after a while! We came during the summer holidays so the weather was nice and the views were beautiful. I pre booked for the best ticket prices and to take advantage of the £20 per adult and £18 per child special offers. We enjoyed it and the kids were able to spot famous buildings which was fun 😁 The only let down was that there were alot of us in our cabin as we were grouped up with a large family with limited seating so after a while of standing i had to sit on the poles due to issues with my knee and the kids sat on the floor. It was a busy day and I think the staff filled the cubicle to capacity This is something to bear in mind for those that may have ailments or disabilities where they need to sit down. Other than that it is worth the visit, we didn’t wait long in the queue and they also take pictures and give you a card with a QR code which can be scanned so you can purchase the pictures after your ride which is nice 😊

The London Eye is an interesting experience that I was glad that I went on, but I am not sure if I would recommend. It offers great views of the city but I understand that The Shard and Sky Garden also can do this. Heck, the coffee shop at Tate Modern also has great views and it is free to go up. We had booked a time and were waiting for our slot, when we arrived 15 minutes early to join an extremely long queue. I was very surprised how quickly the line went and we actually boarded the ride at our allocated time. I suspect if we arrived early (within reason), we could have got on sooner rather than waiting around. Getting on and off was easy, even though the ride didn't stop. The entire trip lasted about 30 minutes and was very relaxing. Obviously the views were great, but I `think that I would have spent less time if I had gone up the Shard or Sky Garden, as the ride seemed to trudge along. The are definitely opportunities to get discounted tickets: book online or in the visitor centre or with the London Pass. Since the line went quick, I wouldn't pay extra for a fast path.

Absolutely love London. And Big Ben is a must see / visit. It has been beautifully restored and looks grand as it should. Right next to the houses of Parliament and across from Westminster Abbey just down the road from Buckingham Palace. And then there is number 10. Definitely make time to go to this iconic land Mark.

It was really cool getting off the Westminster stop on the Tube and walking straight up to see Big Ben towering above it’s such an iconic sight. Even if London isn’t your favorite city, this landmark will definitely impress you.

The surrounding area — including the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey — makes it a must-visit spot for first-time visitors to London. Even though you can’t go inside the tower, just standing nearby and admiring its grandeur is worth the visit. A classic London experience!

We didn't get to do the tour but coming off the tube and Big Ben being right there outside the station was pretty awesome. Its even bigger in person than I thought it would be. Really good angles from the station and out on the bridge.

Visited Big Ben while in London. Did you know its official name is the Elizabeth Tower, renamed in 2012 in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee — but everyone still calls it Big Ben. The site was impressive, with plenty of onlookers taking in the views. We spent about 30 minutes exploring and enjoying the surroundings. Fun fact: the minute hand is roughly the same length as a single-decker bus! Overall, it’s worth a quick stop and was one of the highlights of our trip. Saluti

Big Ben is an incredible and historic landmark, truly one of the most famous symbols of London. The architecture is beautiful, and seeing it up close is a memorable experience. It’s a place full of history and charm, and it represents the classic elegance of the city. However, it’s a bit disappointing to see that some areas around it could be better maintained and cared for. Such an iconic site deserves more attention and preservation to keep its beauty shining for future generations. Despite that, Big Ben remains a must-see attraction and one of the most remarkable places to visit in London.

What a place to visit. The world meets in London and I hope it continues that way. Everything is well organized, spaced and placed. It’s my second time in there and am keen to go back more times. This is not a one day visit you need few times to cover the whole Musuem. Recommend to come with comfortable shoes

Went on a Thursday in half term time, it was incredibly busy, loads of children! It was still a nice experience for my kids, they loved it. You need a couple of days to visit the whole museum, especially if you are looking to study anything in particular. Limited choices on thw food in the food court area and expect London prices but there is also a high end restaurant at the top. Own food and drinks are permitted only in the designated area. We will definitely come again to see and study other areas.

A Must-see Museum! You can literally feel the history of the world here. It’s free to visit; however, when you think about all the pieces taken away from their motherlands, it does feel a bit bittersweet. :) Make sure to book your tickets in advance — it gets busy! As a Chinese visitor, I felt proud yet emotional seeing so many treasures from my homeland. The collections are stunning, though the crowds can be intense. Visiting The National Gallery was truly a magical experience. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the atmosphere and every room tells a different story through its paintings. The layout makes it easy to explore, and the colors, details, and emotions in each artwork are breathtaking. It’s not just a museum but it’s a journey through art and history that leaves you inspired and full of wonder.

It was a wonderful experience. The museum has a good collection of Monet and Van Gogh paintings, which I really enjoyed. For just an afternoon, it’s possible to see everything without getting too tired, though you could easily spend a whole day if you want to study the works in detail. We visited on November 17, and there was also a Christmas market outside the museum, which added a very festive atmosphere.

A very spacious series of galleries housing some of the best known images in the international art world. With a restaurant and toilets and plenty of friendly guides you can easily spend a day here, or just pop in and revisit your favourites. It may look daunting from the outside but the new entrance makes the whole place accessible for anyone. Children of any age will find something to look at and many school trips visit and no they don't disturb the 'grown ups'! A teashop, restaurant, bookshop and well stocked shop make this a day, or two to remember.

I can say that I love this museum. Seeing such a collection of paintings for free is just amazing nowadays. There are beautiful paintings in every room. I could spend a day to visit it. Just do not forged taking a map at the entrance as this is a pretty large museum. French, Spanish, Italian, English, Deutsche… painters from middle age to impressionists. A pretty large collection of Impressionists paintings that can rival with that of Musée d’Orsay in France. Only the Louvre in France is more impressive (but far from being free) among all painting museums that I visited all other the world (with a special notice for Grenoble and Poitier’s painting museum that are great place to visit too).

The National Gallery, a one place to see history through paintings. As usual this gallery is free for entery and quite big so plan ahead. You can book free online ticket or walkin. Tube connectivity is there. Plan to enjoy and take photos from outside squar also. There is a paid washroom available outside. You get chance to see a lot of historical paintings and know about the artist. Due to limited time I was not able to complete it. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water if possible.

I visited the National Gallery today and absolutely loved it. It’s an absolute must visit place when in London, and you can spend hours wandering from room to room, never running out of things to look at. One of the highlights for me was seeing some of Monet’s pieces in person, a moment I’ve been looking forward to for so long. Standing in front of his work felt surreal, and it was worth the entire trip on its own. I highly recommend paying the galley a visit, especially because it’s free entry!

If you’re in London, you must visit this place. I stopped by during an 8 hour layover, and even though I couldn’t take my time the way I wanted to, it was absolutely worth it. The collection is stunning, wall after wall of masterpieces you could spend hours admiring. I barely scratched the surface and already felt amazed. I’ll definitely be coming back on a proper trip so I can truly enjoy and appreciate everything this museum has to offer.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield. The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better. As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.

As a visitor, you can’t ask for a better system to get about to major museums, etc. You get to ride with both the working class and executives alike. Iconic London ! Takes a little getting used to, if you need to travel in the City, it’s the way to go. As a visitor, we purchased a Visitor Oyster Card online, it’s a fantastic deal. Recommended.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.

These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point? Many but the main one is: Thanks to Bid Rigging the same people keep getting rich fulfilling contracts that do nothing but cosmetic change. I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one. Sure, they Spent £16 Billion over budget and late) on a new Elizabeth Line. It's a nice reflection on what we have - - tourists are in central London for the sights, not off to Abby Wood (the other one) and to have them riding the clittering, clanking, clattering collection of caligenous junk - - (think Wizard of Oz to the Tin Man) is a disgrace.

Coming from Manchester we need this in the city.... Yes its a bit dim, dark and dirty.... But what a brilliant, cheap and quick way to get around....

Interesting to be and see inside this storied place. The State Rooms are interesting and the chance to see the royal art collection is a real treat. I also enjoyed the special exhibition of art produced on the King Charles’s travel over the years as well as the throne room. It’s crowded but manageable. I also visited the mews with the carriages and would recommend. My disappointment was the limited access to the garden. The website lists the Royal Gardens as one of the highlights and includes pictures of the rose garden and other select spots. Once on-site I learned that much of the garden, including the roses I hoped to see, is off-limits unless you book a special tour, which were all booked. This is not made clear on the website when booking. Also note that the amount of time they indicate for the palace tour is far too long unless you’re planning to eat in the cafe and do a lot of shopping in the gift shop. I listened to the entire tour and spent time in all of the rooms and it took me 45 minutes or so—they indicate 2 to 2.5 hours. This can be an issue if you are booking multiple timed elements at the palace or tickets elsewhere.

Tickets are not necessary for the changing of the guard. But I recommend standing on the fountain if you cannot get near the fence. You will need tickets for the States room tour. It's well worth with it.

Highly recommend the palace tour as the palace is quite stunning on the inside. Do buy the tickets in advance and show up right in time for your entry because there’s no wait then! The gift shop also has some quality souvenirs so I highly recommend it. Also, the palace gardens were my favourite gardens in London ✨✨✨✨

The palace is absolutely beautiful inside, but no photography. We really enjoyed our visit there. It's is a good bit of walking around but benches to rest on. There is a 20 minutes walk one you get outside to get back out to the main street but once again plenty of benches to rest.

Visited during the changing of the guard I really didn’t know what I was in for. The crowds and fences were ridiculous and the event was not that impressive to me. I could’ve skipped it and been fine. Because of the event I really didn’t get to see the palace exterior and gates very well due to large crowds and barricades. Unless the changing of the guard is a bucket list thing you really want to see I would recommend not going during that event if you’re wanting to get a good view of the palace.

Strolling by Buckingham Palace with a friend in the afternoon was unforgettable. A lively crowd gathered out front, and to our surprise, the King himself exited! The grand palace looked stunning in the sunlight, and the nearby fountain added to the royal charm. Truly a special moment! If you are in the vicinity give it a go.

I've been visiting Tilgate Park for many years and always have an enjoyable walk, whatever the weather. The walled garden is well kept and always worth a visit. Bought a cake from the cafe to takeaway which was yummy and homemade; although it's not always open so best to check before visiting/ relying on it being open for lunch/ snacks. There are features to see around the park and there are activities if you want to do them. Generally a lovely place to explore

My family and I had a wonderful experience with dinosaurs in the park, and my children love it! Their playground was a nice to play and lovely view of Tilgate Park. Stall foods were there and ride as well. It is good and fun for the May half term bank holiday weekend. 🦕☀️😍

For every age groups there this park has a place for them . Whether you enjoy a dog walk or sit and view birds or ducks on the lake or play with kids . Cafe shops are good .

Massive grounds with something for everybody; lakeside and woodland walks, a zoo, children's play atea and a couple of cafes - we visited the walled garden cafe. The grounds are dog-friendly and there is plenty of space for families and picnics.

We stayed with family and they took us to this park. Beautiful park to visit and see. They had a dinosaur theme and fair, great for the kids. Definitely worth it if you’re in that area.

Gorgeous open spaces. Their playground is huge. Boats to go on the lake are severely over priced so avoided those. Lovely day out.

Had a good time with family, spent around 2hrs at the venue.kudos to the entire team for excellent crowd control. Around 80% of the wax statue look stunning and fantastic, rest felt like a dummy one. The special attraction was "Spirit of London" ride, which is a themed taxi ride through the city's history, and not a conventional train ride. The ride uses iconic black cabs to take visitors on a 5-minute journey through London's history and cultural events which also includes wax figures, immersive exhibits, and a 4D cinema.

Had a great time! There’s quite a collection to explore, with some truly fascinating stories, science section and even a few spooky horror rooms. The organisation and presentation were excellent, and the cable ride through centuries of history was absolutely epic! I didn’t see many staff around, but I didn’t really need any help. I had an amazing experience at the Madame Tuassads London. I have already been to other places but this one was different. In addition to various wax statues there was a ride which was very beautiful. Also there was 3D show which was star of the whole lot. Would highly recommend even if you have visited other wax museums. Its clean and wait time is not much.

Madame Tussauds was such a fun experience! The wax figures look unbelievably real ,it’s like walking through a celebrity world. The Marvel and Royal Family sections were my favourites. It does get busy, but totally worth it for the photos and the atmosphere.

I was a bit hesitant about going here, if it's really worth the money... And it is! We enjoyed this interactive experience very much! It's fun and I very much appreciated it is not just the wax figures (which are impressive by themselves), but I was excited about the Marvel 3D experience, the little "taxi" drive through the history of London or the scary horror cellar :) What was dissapointing was the price of the photos they take for you (25 pounds?!). But otherwise perfect way to spend a memorable afternoon (at least 3 hours recommended!), totally recommended. PS: pleasant surprise at the end of our visit was the London Eye tickets for 10£ offer.

The gardens are always lovely and such a pleasure to walk in at any time of year. The house was interesting with rooms open to see and lots of exhibits with information about the last owners and guests who had visited. The volunteer staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. A lovely day out.

It's a very beautiful garden and a small house. There's often exhibitions in the house but on this occasion's visit they were getting ready for Christmas. We've been several times before so this time we did a garden tour at 11 am. That made us slow down and notice details, which was really lovely. I thoroughly recommend Nymans. It's beautiful.

Beautiful National Trust house and gardens. The trails are all pushchair/wheelchair friendly and there is so much to do and see. The wildflower garden is amazing and the café and facilities are all very good. I recommend going early as the car park filled up quickly.

Beautiful walk we took the orange route which took 2 hours with the 7 year old in toe but was an easy stroll . All dog owners were respectable and put their dogs on leads before crossing our path. My cane corso is very anxious and still in training it was a very stress free walk . Parking was free and plenty to see . I let my boy take the photos . So this what was seen by a 7 year old

Easy parking, great buggy tour with history talk for those in our party less able to walk. Beautiful gardens, romantic, wild feel to it all. Went for a walk in the woods down to a lake, just remember to take the code from reception so you can get through the gate and back into Nymans

A recent first for us to visit Nymans, and we've been twice in as many weeks..! Fantastic grounds, gardens, and the house too is a spectacular place, in it's semi-ruined state... Autumn also added to the feast of colour for the eyes as well... Will return again, that's for sure... 👍👍👍

lovely garden to wander around. all the NT staff was lovely. went on the free guided walk and learnt a lot. the two cafés are quite busy but remain cozy and the food is delicious. loved the shop as well with a wonderful selection of trinkets, festive souvenirs and national trust items.

I recently visited the V&A with a friend to see the Cartier Exhibition. It was great, even though it was a bit crowded, which meant no hanging about. However, there were opportunities to return to an exhibit if you wished. I visited on a lovely autumn afternoon and the colourful trees outside added to my enjoyment. There's also a beautiful cafe for a wide selection of food and drinks. It's one of my favourite museums to visit as they put on great exhibitions on a wide variety of subjects. I recommend it highly as a wonderful place to visit anytime.

If you’re anywhere near South Kensington, the Victoria & Albert Museum is one of those places you absolutely must pop into. As someone who’s lived in England for years, I can honestly say the V&A never gets old. What surprised me the most on my recent visit was just how incredible the ceramics collection is. If you’re even slightly into pottery, porcelain, glazes, or anything to do with craft and kiln work, you’ll be blown away. There are shelves and walls filled—and I mean filled—with pieces from all over the world, from tiny delicate bowls to massive vases taller than a child. You could easily spend half a day in the ceramics section alone. And it’s not just ceramics. The museum has an impressive range of sculptures as well—scrubbs, marble carvings, classical statues, and pieces that make you wonder how on earth someone carved something so smooth out of stone. You walk through a hall and suddenly you’re surrounded by history in 360 degrees. The jewellery gallery is another highlight. It’s not just “oh that’s pretty”—it’s genuinely fascinating. Seeing them filled me with immense pride for my heritage. The staff at the museum were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Each section was well-explained and thoughtfully organised. For anyone interested in Punjab, Sikh history, or Indian heritage, the V&A Museum is truly a treasure. I highly recommend this museum to every traveller visiting London. Such an Amazing Museum. Amazing exhibitions and gallery and displays to view your mind. Make sure to have 4 hours spare to take in all the displays. World class. Take well organised. Great food in the cafe at a reasonable price. Make sure to dine in the Victorian cafe.

A Truly Remarkable Day! I simply can't recommend the membership strongly enough! My visit to the Marie Antoinette exhibition today was truly remarkable. Not only was the collection breathtaking, but the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout the day. My daughter and I wore period-style Marie Antoinette costumes, and it was lovely to feel welcomed and celebrated. Every single person we encountered was charming and pleasant. What a fantastic museum experience!

Free to enter for their main exhibits, except for special exhibitions. But there's plenty to see and explore in the different courts, organised by theme, geographical area and time period. Wheelchair accessible Look out for the giant statue of David in the Cast Courts, as well as the rather large pillar of Trajan. Also, the collection of sculptures donated by Auguste Rodin. If you like Jewellery, head up to 2F.

You can book a time slot ticket for free online before hand. This ensures you dont have to queue if it gets too busy. Truly a must visit Museum in London. There are so many different exhibitions that you can easily spend 3 hours here. Of course the main attraction is the Blue whale skeleton, called hope. It weighs 4.5tonnes and measures 25.2m long. This is a real blue whale skeleton and not a model! Can you imagine! There is a dinosaur exhibition and for your info, most of the bones on display are actual dinosaur bones! If you see its dated, then its real dinosaur bones. Other than that there are other paid exhibitions available throughout the museum.

The museum is well-maintained and full of interesting collections. Natural History Museum in London and was truly impressed. The building itself is stunning with its grand architecture and detailed interior. The dinosaur and gemstone exhibits were fascinating and well-organized. I especially enjoyed the interactive sections that make learning fun for both kids and adults. Spending few hours here may not enough. I recommend booking paid tickets for elderly visitors.

Always love going to museums where ever I go to take in the local perspective. It is free entry with donation recommended, which is easy once you see what this place has to offer. This would have been one of the larger sites I have visited in my travels. It has a large variety of collections spanning several floors. I really enjoyed most of the galleries I saw, with their interactive displays that complement the static representations. We literally spent all afternoon their until close and still didn't get a chance to see the whole building. Missing out on the Darwin, and some of the green sector. From what we did see the rest of the place would be just as amazing. Since it's free entry it can definitely be a 2 day walk about. The place is large and requires a bit of sauntering. There are lots of benches and presentations that you can sit while you watch. Which is nice for those who have mobility challenges. Overall, a great visit but if you really like to hit every inch, it's a whole day visit so keep that in mind.

Well kept clean and spacious. Wheel chair acess though out and entering with no steps . Its extremely hot inside even in November. Could do with air conditioning. Lots of history with lots of animals. Great for kids all ages and adults. Toilets and disabled toilets on site with a cafe which is rather expensive so I would recommend brining yours own lunch in if you are a family. 2 coffees and a cookie was approximately £15 . Over all a great experience and very educational. If you home educate your children its worth a day trip in to London to visit the museum. Hot peanuts with honey out side are delicious 😋 pre book tickets for free on line to avoid quing. Pre booked Tickets walk straight in and que jump !

Today, I took a group of elderly visitors with dementia to the London History Museum. Our group varied in mobility — some were able to walk independently, one used a walker, and two were in wheelchairs. We had a brilliant time exploring the different rooms, and the earthquake experience was truly amazing and impactful for everyone. The museum was quite busy with several school groups, which did raise some concerns. One of my members was bumped into twice by a school group, causing them to become unsteady on their feet. While the school group was apologetic, the situation was a little disappointing. The only drawbacks were that the toilets are quite spread out across the museum, and the lifts were sometimes difficult to use due to limited capacity and unclear floor labels. Despite this, we managed to navigate successfully. It was nice to see seating areas scattered around the rooms, providing opportunities for rest. Booking disability parking was straightforward and very helpful, with friendly staff assisting us both on arrival and when we left. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I’d love to return with my family next time for a more flexible visit

For a free entry this museum was absolutely incredible. A very wide variety of exhibits from a multitude of scientific fields. Definitely take your time and explore the entire building. Enjoyed looking at all the different animal exhibits. The dinosaur section of the museum was very fascinating to go through 🦖. I also enjoyed the geological sections. It really does seem that the museum is promoting education at no price! 👨‍🔬 A must visit if you're in the area.

What a wonderful place this is your visit, especially if you're a history lover or architecture enthusiast! I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman. We would definitely visit again!!

Visited the gardens only. Some of the most beautifully curated public gardens in SE England. Very lucky to be able to visit the East Garden which is only open to the public on certain Wednesdays. Some nice woodland walks as well although I would have to say that these aren't fantastically signposted.

It was very lovely place to visit. Free parking and only short walk to the house and gardens. Very brilliant, smiley and pleasant people work there, it was not a problem for them to help us use the lift a few times,so thank you.! It makes the visit so much easier and nicer. It's not easy to get around everywhere if you have a buggy or especially the walker.. Very recommend this place to visit!

What a gorgeous hidden gem just north of London crammed full of history. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides in each room. Check out their website as they put on ‘festival’ type events. The grounds are well kept. Only downside for me was you have to pay extra to go into the palace (£8 I believe). The ‘marmite’ fountain at the back of the house is interesting. I loved it. I will definitely be back.

I don't even know where to start to describe this fantastic place! We spent about five hours there and loved every single minute of it. There is just so much to see! We first visited the Gardens, which are stunning. Then we spontaneously opted for a guided tour of the Old Palace, which absolutely blew us away. I must admit that when we had decided to visit Hatfield House, we weren't even aware of the Old Palace and its significant history, so it felt like an extra bonus. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but also extremely engaging - a pure joy to listen to and get lost in the stories from days gone by. And then the house itself, which is absolutely marvellous in every respect. The staff in each of the rooms were genuinely eager to tell their story and engage with the visitors, so we were able to have long chats, which we thoroughly enjoyed! A long walk to the Oak Tree and back completed our visit, which exceeded our expectations by far. It didn't go unnoticed that unlike most historic houses in Britain, the gift shop was mostly stocked with local produce, rather than the usual souvenirs. But although we couldn't find anything to buy, we didn't even mind that. I got the feeling that despite all its fascinating history and splendour, Hatfield House doesn't seem nearly as commercialised as many similar places (we were surprised about the small number of visitors in the middle of summer), and that would actually seem a good thing. As a result, our visit had a very intimate touch, and we felt individually valued, rather than being a part of big masses of tourists passing through. Our visit turned out to be the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the UK!

Huge gardens & park with multiple routes for avid walkers / dog walking & a fantastic set up for a lovely morning / family day out. Easy parking, we visited their shops and cafe in their entry area, headed to the loo, got ice cream and made our way around their grounds in a beautiful sunny day! Might feel expensive for a walk but a worthy day out for family / friends and a great adventure location with food, facilities, and beautiful nature! Head here for a great day out when the sun is up!

You can feel the history at Hatfield house. You have the spectacular house, built by Robert Cecil, along with the old palace, where Elizabeth 1st and Edward would have been bought up. You can almost imagine them playing in the wonderful West Gardens as you walk around. The staff are full of information and love to share their wealth of knowledge, just ask. After the house, we went for a walk through the woods, down to the picturesque river. My mother is in a wheelchair, but we had no problems getting around. Everywhere is accessible. Just be prepared for some inclines in the woodland walks.

Great event - shame was spoiled by the weather but thats the UK for you. Thats the 3rd and final big event I've been to this year Cheltenham and aintree being the other 2. The difference being on the hill is free entry that nobody knows about

A day of thrilling races at Epsom Racecourse, followed by a peaceful escape into the breathtaking beauty of Langley Vale Wood's 641 acres of diverse trees and plants. A perfect blend of adrenaline and tranquility.

Had a lovely evening, with good food and drinks. Even won on the 7pm

Only had one winner,but we had a great time,atmosphere was brilliant,good friendly staff,overall fantastic day out!

Another great days racing at Epsom Downs, Derby day always a great meeting and some fantastic winners. Tickets purchased well In advance but for some reason not posted out, we had to collect on arrival which is never great when you have a disabled member in the party. We booked the Views restaurant, plenty of space and great service from the waitresses, drinks flowing all day. Food was interesting, sampler menu and then lamb main course, unfortunately the main wasn’t hot, warm at best, afternoon tea was plentiful and the cakes full of flavours.

Having grown up here, it has long held a significant space in my heart. It is honestly such a beautiful and peaceful place outside of race weekends... often with people exercising their horse along the gallops. Perfect spot for a walk, a picnic, or even just having some time to think.

The perfect location to view and savour the setting 🌅sun all year round, whilst enjoying 😊 the panoramic views of the North Downs along with increasing the ‘step tally’ on the iPhone Health App! lol. This is indeed a treasured location and 1️⃣ to be enjoyed, especially 1️⃣0️⃣ to 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes leading up to sunset 🌅

The current baleful retail complement includes some nation-wide names and brands but more so, clearance outlets. Many stores here project transience. Lately more so accentuating the amusement, entertainment presence with a large indoor children’s play area projecting a vertiginous thrust into the cavernous contour. In fact, the expansive glass+girdered roof a pointless aesthetic folly, emphasising an enervated B I G and spacious top gallery, devoid of customers and meaningful footfall Completed in 1991, straddling the A1 motorway, the design inspiration an aircraft hangar as homage to the local aircraft industry heritage. On a Friday afternoon, a dearth of customers, it struck me : I’m looking at history right here.

Fantastic Cinema Odeon and many restaurants, fast foods, few shops with outdoors items., M&S. Nice atmosphere.

Galleria is a nice place to shop and spend some time. It has a good mix of stores, restaurants, and cafés, with plenty of parking available. The place is generally clean and well-kept, and the atmosphere feels relaxed. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but overall it’s a great spot for shopping, food, and a casual day out.

Very big shopping centre, reasonably priced, well maintained and managed

We stopped by for a visit and decided to grab something to eat. The food was nice, and there were activities for kids, especially the new Thomas train track, which was a big hit. It wasn’t very crowded, which made it a really relaxed and enjoyable day out.

It’s good shopping centre with a few outlets and some of them have a good stuff for a good price. And they have a kids playing area in the shopping centre which is good for kids to spend some time but should be cheaper. And they have some restaurants there to eat and drink. They should make it free parking as I think would attract more people to go there as I think it’s very quiet shopping centre.

Last week I visited the galleria everything was just perfect the cleaning level, the atmosphere and the people. I had a coffee from Costa but the coffee was not good ,it was cold and just a sweet water. Costa is a big brand but they are not serving quality in the galleria.
