Don’t let the simple exterior fool you, this charming church hides breathtaking beauty inside. A true hidden gem, it’s well worth a stop, especially if you’re on a road trip. Conveniently, there’s a car park nearby, making it easy to visit. Step inside and prepare to be amazed by its stunning interior!

The outside of this church could easily fool you into thinking it is just like any other church. But step inside and you will be amazed at the gold and colourful artwork on the ceiling. It reminds me of the Sistine Chapel in a way, with the incredible drawings of scenes from important religious events. You can pay €1 to light a candle inside, or €1.50 to buy a decorated candle (obtained near the entrance), although this is only for you to light at home. You can write your prayer on a pice of paper and leave it near the altar, along with other people’s prayers. Entry to the church is free, parking is paid for. The car park is large enough to accommodate motorhomes.

The Wieskirche, a stunning Rococo church and UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands peacefully in the middle of a meadow. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior dazzles with gorgeous decorations. It’s an absolute must-visit along the Romantische Straße (Romantic Road), and we can’t wait to return.

If you are in the area, this is a must see. It is free entry. Though donations are advised. The views on the way and the views outside the church are also spectacular. This is a fantastic piece of rococo architecture.

Spectacular beyond anything you would imagine if you see it from the outside. A pure gem worth the trip. The christ depictions the altar is like stepping through the looking glass. It sits with nothing but farms and greenery. It's right in the middle of the most amazing meadow just like someone imagined it in a dream, and it appeared.

One of the most memorable places I visited while in Germany. Absolutely beautiful church intricately painted in pastel tones. What a lovely spot, even the nature surrounding the church is picturesque and peaceful, with adorable farm animals included.

Every year in October the lake is drained and the water from Lake Forggensee is back by June 1st at the latest. The lake reaches its full water level around June 15th, so that you can only see, enjoy and experience it as a full reservoir for four to five months of the year.

An amazing place for a day trip with your family or friends. The color of the water, mountains and sky makes it close to heaven. Easy to reach, not very far from Munich. It’s actually close to the boarder of Austria. If you go there, hopfensee and Lechfall is also recommended to visit. Hopfensee: specially for the sunset. Overall, it’s one of the most beautiful view I have ever seen in Bavaria till now.

The historic area around Füssen is home to the impressive Hochschloss, also known as the Hohes Schloss, which towers above the charming town center and offers a remarkable glimpse into late Gothic architecture and Bavarian history. The castle complex originally dates back to Roman times, but the current form was built and extensively renovated between the 13th and 15th centuries, later serving as a summer residence for the prince bishops of Augsburg. One of the most striking features is the illusionistic architectural paintings in the inner courtyard, which still enchant visitors today with their artistry and detail. During our visit, we enjoyed a leisurely afternoon exploring not just the castle’s exterior and courtyards but also ventured up to the Hochreservoir, which provided a unique perspective over Füssen and the surrounding landscape. The castle complex houses the State Gallery with regional art from the 15th and 16th centuries, as well as the Städtische Gemäldegalerie showcasing 19th-century works. Wandering through the battlements and climbing the towers rewarded us with panoramic views, and the peaceful, historic ambiance made for a memorable experience. It’s a wonderful destination for anyone interested in architecture, history, or simply looking for a beautiful spot to spend a quiet afternoon. The mix of art galleries, historic towers, and stunning views creates an inspiring setting well worth the visit. The Hochschloss and the Hochreservoir together made for a great day—highly recommended for a cultural and scenic outing in Füssen.

Very nice castle to visit while in Fussen. It was built in iterations starting with an “illegal” fortification in the 12th C. It houses art installations and it is also interesting to climb to the battlements and up the tower. There are great views of the cit and surrounding area that shout it be missed. Next to this impressive castle is a beautiful park with benches and views of the river far below. 45 minutes is all you need in the castle before you continue your exploration of the city. Have Fun!

A calm and nice castle on the hill in the town. It is now an art museum. I could walk to the square of the castle but not inside of the building itself. It seems the castle is only open for a limited time in a day, so check the information before you visit the place. The walkway between the castle and the river and the one behind the castle were also great spots to take a rest.

Very nice time we had. A lot of nature, close to Tirol. After we reach at the lake it will show a sign to go right up 15 min to see all from above. Enjoy 👌🏼

Alatsee is an absolutely wonderful place to get in contact with nature. Walking or jogging around the lake is such a pleasure activity. The whole environment is very clean and idyllic, it is the perfect place to disconnect off all technology for a bit and just enjoy the beauty of being alive.

Small lake with nice views. The round trip is around 30-40 minutes but the walk from Fussen can take around 1 and a half hours.

UNESCO world heritage Park that is top notch in size, beauty and features. It's free, never locked and has the most flowers, herbs, trees and walking trails imaginable. Kneipp baths (multiple leg stations, arm stations for adults, kids and disabled people), educational herb garden with smell stations, frog pond, huge bird aviaries, fountains, lakes with duck islands, exercise and mobility stations ("the five Esslingers"), agility and balancing trails, barefoot trails, labyrinth, mud station to walk through and so much more. All based on Kneipp's natural healing therapies. You can't ever see it all, but you can try...

Amazing location if you are looking for for a calm therapeutic nature walk. There are trailed walks pathways where you can walk barefoot and experience different senses. Though I have visited here before but yesterday the rose garden was not well maintained, I think this years constant rain was not good. Highly recommended as well if you are coming here with elderly parents

Great destination for a calm therapeutic nature walk. One gets both peaceful and meditative encounter. The area is touristic also. I like the spacing and varieties of things to explore. It makes one appreciate the things we often take for granted. It's inspirational the history of the place and those that made it really happen. Fully recommend and worth your time if you're anywhere close to Bavaria.

Amazing park to visit in the middle of the forest. Beautiful rose garden and lovely lake. A bit disappointed as they don't keep the very famous umbrellas for longer time in the summer. Would be nicer if they stay there for the full summer time. Free parking for 2h. And Toilet facilities. There could be more take away coffee places and refreshments.

The barefoot trail is a lot of fun for the whole family. My only complaint is that some sections could be better marked since the paved road interrupts the trail. The trail is pretty rough on your feet but it is worth it for the experience. Some of the stations along the trail are mud pits, balance bridges, and various walking textures. Parking is a little difficult especially on weekends when the weather is nice. There are also limited lockers on site to store shoes. They require a 1 or 2 euro coin that is returned at the end of use.

We was at the first time in Skyline Park near Bad Wörrishöfen. Not really crowded as used from other parks. Fair prices for food and beverages. Some attractions seemed a little bit older. Employees were helpful but not friendly. Overall it’s worth to visit Skyline Park especially with smaller children.

This is an excellent park to visit if you all about the rides! The rides are great. Including some that I had never seen before in other parks. Many of the rides are not for kids under 1.40cm and they are worth it! We visited the park middle of the week. Off season and with some small rain. And we had the feeling that we have the whole park to ourselves!! Stuff is friendly and all rides are operational even if you are the only one there!! It has less of the fairytale park but for hardcode riders!!! Loved it!

Wonderful experience for the whole family - or you can just go crazy with your friends! The entry fee is a bit expensive for the first look, but you got value for your money. The food and drinks are at reasonable prices - not double takedown, and I really appreciate it. The park is clean, the staff is really kind and helpful. Grab a map at the entrance and you can spend the whole day there. Highly recommended for everyone!

Nice choice of rollercoasters, roundabouts, and other rides. Plenty of opportunities to dine, quite some at reasonable prices. The experience very much depends on the length of the waiting queues and thus on the number of people visiting the park. We went on a Friday in August, where many Bavarians are on vacation, so it was great. Kids with a birthday +- 5 days of the visit are free. Reduced fees for all under 1.50m. Most really heavy rides are free from 1.50m and 14 years of age.

We went here on 3 November during kids autumn break, knowing it was the last week before Skyline closes for winter break: we paid the full price as it would of been summer season, a lot of amusements did not work as well as small huts with snacks were also closed. The staff for the rides were extremely RUDE and moody. We started to question if that was after Halloween mood or what has happened but everyone working there was super grumpy. It was quite disappointing experience and not worth of the money we spent.

If you want to use the train you have to walk 10-15 minutes from the station Rammingen bay to arrive the parking space and from there enter the park. If you are alone walking through empty fields might feel a bit uneasy. At least for me as a solo visitor arriving there early Sunday. You are provided with a useful map at the ticket booth. Adrenaline seekers should pick red-marked-equipments. There are beautiful sites for nature lovers as well. You need at least 5-6 hours to walk around and stay in line for your favourite games. The price and distance worth the adventure.

Perfect place, worth a visit

It is a good shopping center, not very big but you can take a short walk, it has specific stores where you can get certain things, you can also choose between some food places if you are in a hurry or you can also eat there, there are many people usually so That gives the impression of always being full. It can be easily accessed by vehicles and walking.

This is the centrepiece of Kempten! An unmissable landmark in the Hildegardplatz with double tower facade and majestic steps. The interior awes you with baroque architecture, numerous frescos of Andreas Asper, and even one featuring Hildegard herself (which I couldn't spot it, my mistake). The foundation stone was laid in 1652 after the old church was ruined during The Thirty Years' War. Opened in 1670 as a monastery and a parish church, it now acts as a Roman Catholic parish church for the Diocese of Augsburg. It's the place to visit in this city and becomes livelier during the weekend market on Saturdays.

Such a gorgeous Church. I am so speechless as I enter inside. So far the most beautiful church I have ever seen in Germany.

Was completely blown away by the beauty of this church. Photos does not do it justice. A must for anybody visiting the town of Kempten. Entrance is free so you literally have no excuse not to go. The church is currently undergoing maintenance and may look a little unwelcoming, but it is open (just walk to the door and open it). I will return one more time before my trip is over. I would give it five stars, but because of the limited tourist information available, I can't. I understand however, that the church is not a commercialised attraction, and that it may be costly for the church to provide pamphlets and marketing materials if entrance is free of charge. Still, this is an amazing place. Go, enjoy the artwork, or sit down and say a prayer. This building is an absolute masterpiece. Appreciate it.

Stop by around noon for a break. It was a Sunday they had a mass on walked inside it was spectacular! Quite dreamy. Next to the church food market with a few food trucks around the fountain. Tried a few it was great! Had truffle gnocchi with generous shaving of truffle it was a highlight of the foodie experience. Spoke to one of the truffle specialist they offer truffle hunting tours but we are on. Schedule maybe for next time.

What an awesome place to spend time with your family. They make it easy to get up the mountain using the ski lift. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online all at the same price. Family discounts are offered and you can purchase packages for all the attractions. The Llama park was a treat and they even have three different places to eat once you summit. The toboggan karts are clean and very safe going down for like what it seemed as an eternity. I would highly recommend it as a must visit if you're in this area.

It's a great place for nature lovers. You can try a combination ticket for ascending and descending by cable car, or ascending and descending by coaster. Alternatively, you can walk up and down. The upper section consists of three sections: a children's park with an entrance fee, a climbing experience trail, and a free common area open to everyone. Spending time at an altitude of 1100 metres is enjoyable. I recommend bringing tick and insect repellent. Restaurant prices are reasonable and not touristy.

We reached the place at 9.40 am on a sunday, took the chairlift and reached the coaster right at the opening time. So we did not have to wait at all ! We had the best time with the coaster ride.

It is a nice, small ski area for families to introduce their kids to skiing. Being very small you can always keep an eye on your little ones, during their ski class or after (if they are old enough, to ski alone). The reason for only three stars is, it’s mainly having old T-bar lifts and this is in my opinion something to change, at least for one or two of the old T-bars. Nevertheless i will return with my family as i like the area.

Loved the view and especially the lunch at Imberghaus, located at top of cable car ride. Since it was late summer, we hiked through the fields where cows grazed. We enjoyed the medley of their bells.

okay 50€ for 4 Hours which is a better deal as 40€ for 2 Hours ; ) but yeah very mixed crowd of people from children to very grumpy Germans… mixed saunas from 60 degrees to 95, steam room with free salt scrub swimming pool , outdoor pools I believe it can be magical when the snow is around but yeah nice experience … like I’ve always said it’s not the place it’s the crowd that make a place shine or not.

Unfortunately this place has aged and not worth the ridiculous prices they charge for entry, food and parking. My son cut his toe on a sun lounger but all the staff could offer was a non-waterproof plaster and no apology. €6 for just over 2 hours parking is the cherry on top - we will not return.

Love this place! Huge swimming pool, indoor and outdoor, a variety of different saunas and rooms for relaxation. They also accept clients with wellpass.

Great complex with an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and many sauna options. Not a fan of all the completely naked people in the saunas but that's the culture in Germany.

Meh. Went there with my partners family on a weekday and it was super crowded and loud. Parking was really hard and there was a long line at the entrance. The pools looked clean, gotta say that and they had a 3m and 5m tower. There also were outside pools. Entrance for a day was 29 euros and I do not recommend staying there for more than two hours, it gets boring quickly because it's not incredibly big. One hour swimming would be 14 euros (sauna included) plus 1 Euro per hour for parking and very expensive food. All in all if the weather sucks and you wanna go for a short swim with your kids it's fine. Be aware that it is overpriced and crowded and not crazily exciting. The Therme Erding is worth its price more than this one in my opinion

Kids had a blast, they remodeled the outside from last time we were there and it's nicer. Pools were warm and not crowded, friendly service. Validate parking ticket at front desk for discount

By far one of the most stunning looking churches i ever visited. The sheer scale of the inside is breathtaking. A lot of the inside is gilded and catches your eyes. Would totally recommend a visit when youre in the area 👌🏻

A trip to Ottobeuren Abbey isn't just a visit to a church—it's an experience. This insane beautiful church is a full-on masterpiece. The moment you step inside, you’re hit with a wave of awe that's hard to describe. The entire interior is a sensory feast. The paintings on the ceiling and walls are so vibrant, and the stories they tell through color and intricate detail are absolutely mesmerizing. Then there are the sculptures—each one feels alive, a testament to the incredible skill of the artists who created them. It’s like every surface, every corner, has a story to tell. This isn't just a place of worship; it's a "Gesamtkunstwerk," a total work of art, where painting, sculpture, and architecture merge into one breathtaking vision. If you're ever in the area, you have to see it for yourself. Pictures don’t do it justice.

Stunning church and monastery, unfortunately there is a lot of construction going on around it at the moment so it doesn't shine in all its glory. But I definitely recommend a visit, whether you're a religious person or architecture afficionado.

Stayed there for a family trip, we got 4 cabins next to each other easily. The cabins are great, lots of room and the kitchen is equipped, we did clean everything before we used them, but everything in the kitchen seemed clean. The pool park is so fun, we returned every day and even at night the place lights up. The games for the children and the other adventurers are great! Bike rental was so easy and they recommended many trails. However, we felt that the bedrooms were not so clean, we asked for new sheets as we got which was no problem and non charge, but if you open the window keep in mind that bugs will come in, I came back home with many stings.. also about the service in the water park, I felt like more supervision was needed, in some slides people were all over each other and it took out from the fun. All and all, I would recommend this for families, you can spend days in the park w/o the need to leave, but you should, because the area is lovely.

Great place for families. We were with two kids (4 years and 8 months). A lot of activities for kids, inside and outside. Great for taking a walk, riding a bike, there are a lot of playgrounds outside. When the weather is bad there is a lot of fun stuff to do inside also. Great indoor playground, bowling, mini golf etc. Some activities can have a long queue since a lot of them must be booked at the same place. The aqua mundo is very big and offers a lot of pools and slides for different ages. We had a difficulty finding a chair and place to sit, but you don't actually need it. We made a break only to eat and at that time we could find a table. Our cottage was clean and we liked it. The kitchen is nicely equipped, every meal can be made there if you want to safe some money. The restaurants are very basic, offering pizza, pasta, burgers, but we didn't need more. We will come again for sure.

The park is nice but seems that its facilities are not built for rhe amount of people they let in (we visited in September). The farm is small and all the animals were trying to hide from children trying to pet them. Same in Aqua Mundo - we had difficulty to find a chair. Our cabin was new and clean. The park is not so big so there is no need to rent a golf cart

Cleanliness is to be desired. When we arrived the bed linen was wet. That was replaced immediately. The cleaning issues that we encountered was said to us will be taken care of the following day. After the „cleaning“ the following day we found the property in exactly the same condition. The shower we did not use at all as you can see how it was in the picture. We actually showered after a day at the aqua mundo in the showers there. We could have enjoyed our week long stay a lot more if our home was clean. On the positive side, it’s a great place to be with kids. Lots of things to do, activities etc. We will give Center Parcs another chance.

The place is not flexible with families that comes for a vacation to enjoy. If you booked activity and there is extreme cold or you sick they won't late you make changes. Service people, not smiling or give you the feeling of being welcomed. I find myself working hard in the vacation rather the vacation works for me. The kids enjoyed the attractions, but i wouldn't recommend this place, there are better options for family vacations that makes you feel pleasant.

Here is an objective review of our stay (first time) in center parcs Allgäu. We’re a family and had a premium cottage. Cottage - basic, relatively clean and has everything you need for day to day living. It’s not luxury but it’s enough to enjoy your time. Parc - it has all amenities for kids, no mater the weather. Very good entertainment options with lots of activities available. The parc is relatively big, depending on where your cottage is located you might walk 20 minutes to the center where all activities are. To keep in mind. Food / restaurant - an absolute disgrace. No other words. Literally 0 healthy options. I think I haven’t seen a single vegetable in our plates during the whole trip. There are of course salads (1 or 2) in some restaurants but the quality is below par and has not nutrients, blunt and fade. It is one thing to offer fast food style in a kids oriented resort but another one to offer fast food style that isn’t even good and make you sick. I genuinely got sick due to the food. Food is 0 out of 5. To sum up: Centerparcs is similar to a low cost airline. Cottage prices are relatively reasonable (depending on when you book, the size, etc. of course) but then you pay extra for anything you do (except indoor playground and pools). This is fine but also to keep in mind. We would come again but better prepared for cooking in the cottage, which is a bit disappointing as your holidays are the time you don’t necessarily want to cook / clean the dishes but far better than eating junk food all day long.

A very successful experience for children aged 4-12. A large place with lots of options that are very difficult to complete in one day due to the long lines for most of the facilities. You have to arrive with a lot of patience. Overall, this is a park where the attractions themselves are not crazy, but the "wrapping" of Lego does its job. The place is very neat and clean and easy to navigate. Overall, this is a recommended day out for the family.

This is in my opinion the best of the 3 Legoland parks in Europe. Everything is good value here, especially the food and the quality of said food is fantastic. I went into the pizza restaurant and paid around €16 for a fresh out of the oven pizza and amazing chocolate tart. They both felt like they came from an expensive restaurant, very tasty and beautiful presentation. You have the best selection of rides here from small to thrilling. A really good variety - the best being Maximus. An absolutely thrilling b&m coaster which despite the short ride time, offers some incredible moments of weightlessness. The park is kept tidy and clean - the bathrooms are cleaned very regularly. Queues are managed well and have the bonus of single rider if you're a lone traveller like me. Saves a lot of time. Theres a few little themed shops dotted around and although a couple were closed on my trip due to the time of year possibly, there's still a lot on offer. More than any other Lego park in Europe like I said. I had the best 2 days here and I can't wait to come back again.

We took the kids to Germany and our first stop before traditional castles and museums was Legoland Germany! We LOVED it. Drove straight from airport to the hotel (we stayed at the Pirate Hotel), checked in, then did a full afternoon and evening till close. We ate at the steak restaurant near hotels and onsite for snacks, lunch, etc. We prepaid for breakfast at Pirate hotel. Because of birthdays, we did the birthday package (they decorated the room and more) and because tip mattered we did the VIP package. THIS was worth every penny! We skipped the line at every ride, got extra swag & mini figures, and store discounts [don’t forget to ask for tax refund forms at the store (typically 100 or more spent)]. The staff are awesome and most are bilingual if you are rusty. If you are a LEGO fan or traveling Germany with kids, this place is worth every penny! For the super fans, they had themes we found no where else (e.g. adventure series at the log ride); and rides that are not found at the US Legolands. Augsburg and Ulm are nearby if you need a culture/ museum break.

We spent lovely 2days here, great experience for us, adults and our kids. We had lovely weather, so a lot of people arrived, and some attractions were crowded, and we had to wait. Luckily it was just occasionally. Plus was Halloween decorations and products that can bring home🎃🎃 Thank you, will come again.

Great place for young kids . We spent one day there , 2 would have been better as we didn’t see everything. Very reasonable as once you pay all the rides are free . Ideal kids age 5-12.

An absolute dream holiday location for my family and I. My son and daughter loved it, the rides were great, food was good and queues were decent. Staff were very friendly, parking wasn't an issue and having Peppa Pig Park right next door made it ideal for my 2 year old daughter too! It was also great fun for my wife and I. Unforgettable memories were made and we cannot wait to visit once again!

If you or your kids like LEGO then you must visit, the place is huge and there are a lot of activities for all ages. To really cover it you need at least 2 days to get on most of the rides. The only downside is the large ques that form so you don't like to wait a lot then maybe pay more for the express pass. You can also get tickets online for both the park and the parking which I recommend to save some time.

It's a nice place to visit, especially for those who love motorhomes. Unfortunately, the museum was very hot with a lack of ventilation, so we left earlier than we wanted. The restaurant was even warmer, so we didn't stay in. Also, there is no translation, so all the descriptions and information are for German speakers only. Shortly speaking, not international.

It is an amazing experience in a place where one can find a lot of information about the history of caravans and campers in Germany and even more. There you can see the newest Hymer camper that is very impressive. The exhibits are interesting and enchanting. You can get an iPod with explanations in English. I enjoyed every minute and we spent there more than two hours. Price is 11 euros per person but there are discounts and for journalists is free of charge. There are also very nice souvenirs at shop.

Very interesting place to visit if you are near Munich and are into leisure vehicles and their evolution. You cannot bring dogs inside but they would mind them for you at the reception if well behaved. The food was also very nice (try the lemonade)

We had so much fun here :) We came to Heidenheim City for 3 days trip and came to here for half day visit. It was really sweet for both kids and adults. It’s nice to read the history and also very good presented. We have talked to the lady who is working in -Hand made - area, she is very kind and friendly, explained some aspects very nicely to us. And I was happy to read all those instructions in Japanese especially :)

Small but really amazing museum showcasing the toys made by Steiff. The first part of the museum tour is really beautiful and we could hear the story of how it all began. The last part has a lot of big toy animal structures. A must if you are in this town with kids.

A great place to spend the afternoon with children. Such a fun, interactive experience for both young children and adults. Some places were a little overcrowded and we had a few rude families who pushed in front of our children instead of waiting their turn for certain experiences. But overall, it was great to learn about the history of the teddy bear and the gift shop was great. Definitely worth a visit.

The Ulmer Rathaus is a beautiful and historic building right in the heart of Ulm. Its colorful façade, covered in detailed paintings and decorations, really stands out and gives you a glimpse into the city’s rich past. It’s one of those places you can’t help but stop to admire when walking through the old town. The mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture makes it even more interesting. It’s definitely worth seeing, especially if you enjoy history or old European buildings.

The food is delicious, the service is fast. Very high quality black beer is served inside. The outside is full of handmade figures. Hz. Ibrahim Sacrifice incident is depicted. Very special building with colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past.Especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit.

No visitor misses the 3 most important hotspots of Ulm - the Münster, the "Schiefe Haus" and the very special "Rathaus" with its colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past - if you have the time, join one of the guided tours. The active townhall interior is nice, but renovated - the storytelling outside and especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit on the way down to the Danube or Fischerviertel.

We visited Ulm and the Rathaus stood up nicely as we got to the town from the car park. It’s really impressive with nice paintings and a very unique architecture. An old building that seems new and different. You should really see it if you visit Ulm

Ulm as a whole was so charming, and every time we come back in the future, we will definitely be staying at Schiefes Haus.

I spent a night in Ulm on my road trip back to Switzerland from Copenhagen and had chosen this unique hotel, that must be one of the most photographed in the world. Although the house in itself is far from horizontal, floors inside appear to be. Beware if you are really tall because it may be difficult to reach your bed through the low passages. Owner and staff are great and beds, shower and breakfast are up to the standards of the start rating. If you are lucky, you can enjoy a violin concert while sipping a beer in the shade on their veranda overlooking the little stream running parallel to the Danube river.

Schiefes Haus, or “The Crooked House,” is one of the main attractions in the city of Ulm, Germany. This unique hotel is famous for its tilted shape and long history. Built in 1406, the building originally served as a merchant’s house before being converted into a hotel.

This place is special. The floors are angled crazily. Apparently it was in the Guinness book of records back in the 90s when it was renovated into a hotel. For the convenience of the location and its special unique character you do have to sacrifice a bit of comfort. We stayed in the room on the very top floor. It took 4 steep flights of stairs to get to our beds. The shower over the bath was a bit awkward. But for us it was well worth it. Beds were comfortable. The decor is a bit dated (90s chique all the way) but everything is in very good condition. Special mention of the excellent breakfast. The service was also fantastic. Thanks!

This was the second time I stayed here. It Is an absolute stunning, cosy and romantic place. But also the staff is fantastic. They are very polite and do everything possible to make ones stay as pleasant as possible. The room and bathroom was spotless clean. The breakfast buffet (included) was freshly prepared with a variety of bread and buns, jams, honey, cold meat, cheese, eggs to your liking, salmon. Can't ask for more. A stay is definitely value for money. Thank you Ms Wolf and team for all your efforts and hospitality. Merry Christmas .

Every nice church. This church has the tallest tower in the world. You can pay 7 Euros and walk all the way to the top. Please ensure that you are semi fit....it is a long and winding staircase of over 750 steps. But the view is worth it. They are currently doing some restorations to the church so please bear with the noise.

The Gothic architecture is incredibly detailed, and the interior is full of history — especially the 15th-century choir stalls with their intricate wood carvings. The highlight, of course, is climbing the tallest church spire in the world. It’s 768 steps up a narrow staircase, but the panoramic view over the city and, on clear days, even the Alps, makes it worth every step. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and bright, with beautiful stained-glass windows and an impressive organ. The Münsterplatz around the church is also lively, with cafés and markets (the Christmas market here is fantastic). Be prepared: the tower climb is steep and not for everyone, but if you can manage it, it’s unforgettable. Overall, Ulm Minster is one of Germany’s greatest landmarks. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful experience visiting this Therme. The layout of the facility is easy to navigate, with designated areas for both children and adults to enjoy. I particularly loved the hot jacuzzi located near the bar area. However, I found the sauna area to be a bit small and somewhat pricey. The entire place was impeccably clean, and privacy was well-maintained throughout. It would be great if they offered daily packages that include access to all areas, as some currently require additional payments. The wristband system and lockers were user-friendly. Additionally, I appreciated that they accept credit cards, which makes it more convenient to leave the facilities without having to carry extra items. I visited on a weekday and had the place almost entirely to myself.

It's a very beautiful big place, canteen inside, bar in pool, saunas, nice personal, massage, jacuzzi, cocktails.. We will come again!!!

Very nice 20.9 meter tower. Great view of Aalen and surroundings. At the base of the tower there is a playground for children, lots of benches and tables, and a restaurant, but it was closed (July Saturday afternoon).

The place is about 200m above city level and may take around 40-50 by foot from the city centre. At top there is a restaurant and a observation deck. From the observation tower one can see complete city of Aalen.

If you love trekking on a hill and campfires at night this is the place to be. The scenic view of Aalen from that observation tower is absolutely breathtaking.

The limes museum in Aalen is a great place to visit. You can look through the indoor exhibition on two floors which tells the story of the Romans in and around Aalen as wells as the development and fall of the limes. Besides original and replicat exponats there are lots of modern information displays and interactive visuals. Outdoors your can walk around the remains of the former Roman camp and take a look at a reconstructed barrack. The indoor part is open till 17:00 on most days and you are allowed to stay in the outdoor section even after closing time.

Wonderful display of the Roman Frontier fort, and the tin figurine collection explains Roman days. The artifacts and recreations are well worth the visit as well! Handicap friendly!

Absolutely recommendable visit. The museum offers a vivid and varied insight into Roman-Germanic history. I especially like the two thousand tin figures diorama. Impressive work. I wasn't aware until now how far south the Limes wall extended. With numerous and some extremely well conserved exponats and lots of illustrations and models the life of Roman soldiers is well documented. I especially like the focus on the various touching points where Roman and Germanic culture meet and somehow combine without giving up their own identities. The Roman eagle and the Germanic bear - a data collection of a precarious and cautious history full of wars, battles and countless skirmishes. But phases and local spots of a calmer and cautious coexistence were possible, too. It seems.

It was nice although the main museum was closed. Liked it! Roman outfits could be tried, was fun!!

Surprisingly fascinating. For Americans, the name is somewhat confusing. I thought it was going to be some sort of geology or cave or limestone exhibition. But "Limes" is a Latin word roughly meaning "limits." It seems Aalen was near the limits of the Roman empire and the Romans had built a wall just north of the city. The museum itself is built on site of an ancient Roman outpost and is filled with artifacts that have been found in the area. There are the remains of buildings partially unearthed on the grounds outside of the museum building. While you can travel to Rome and see better preserved evidence of the Roman empire, I learned more in this museum about the daily life of the Romans and their conquered lands than I had anywhere else. And if you are a thinking person, the "end" of the exhibit upstairs should give you pause and food for thought for quite some time to come. This is definitely worth a stop if you are live nearby or are simply driving anywhere near Aalen on your way to somewhere else.

Very nice, modern and spacious museum about the Romans in the area of Aalen and the Limes in general. We were lucky because we happened to arrive at the right time on a Sunday afternoon where a free guided tour had just started (3 pm I think). The tour guide (in Roman outfit) was excellent and brought the exhibits to life for us with additional stories, facts and anecdotes. I can highly recommend this museum and tour. We didn't walk around the outside area much because we ran out of time and it was very hot but it looked very interesting. There is an area where children can try out clothes and helmets. We also found a small play area for young children (we were there with a 6 year old). I wasn't sure if this area was meant to be used or only as part of larger groups (it was a bit separate) but our daughter enjoyed playing there with the building blocks and setting up forts and castles. Unfortunately, the museum does not have a café area attached to it, so if you get hungry you need to go somewhere else. Perhaps it's too expensive for museums to run coffee places along the side. Maybe just a vending machine would do the trick. Thank you to the nice staff at this museum!

Helfenstein Castle The ruins of the 12th century Helfenstein Castle on the 'Valley Town of the Fifth' Geislingen an der Steige. It can be reached via a footpath of moderate difficulty (sturdy shoes recommended) or by car on Weilerstraße to the nearby car park. This provides space for about 20 vehicles and is free. You really have to enjoy the valley view. The ruins are beautiful and from the tower you have a good view of Geislingen. The hiking trails are well signposted and easy to follow. Perfect for a short family trip or the curious adventurer in between. There is a convenience store and enough picnic benches for a snack. Sufficient parking spaces are also available. And a very nice hike from Geislingen train station. Park at the train station, walk across the railway tracks and the climb will start at about 900 metres. It's a bit uphill, but the view at the top makes up for everything. In Burgschänke (which is always open when the flag is raised) we ate and drank something in nice weather. The department was more relaxed. Definitely go.

You have to climb to get there, it is lovely path into the forest for the climbers. But the castle was a dissappointment for us as there were so many rubbish all around the castle and it was disturbing in such a beautiful place.

Lovely old castle and worth a visit for the views alone! Google maps sends you the ' stairs ' way! This is a steep climb up about 300 stairs? ( We meant to go back for a picture of them but forgot! ) Otherwise you can go up the roads to it. Like I said the views are spectacular and it's free! There's a restaurant up there too but I'm guessing you might need to book?

Great view of Esslingen. As people have mentioned, it requires a great deal of steps to clib. I recommend taking the bus 110 from the station up to the castle. After experiencing the wonderful view, you can take the stairs back down into the town.

Beautiful setting for photos and views above Esslingen. The stairs are tough but make for a good workout before heading to the farmers market in town. One note, it doesn't appear you can actually go inside the main tower

This is nice church located on the south side of Marktplatz that I enjoyed seeing during a recent visit to Esslingen. Historically, it seems there have been church buildings at this site since the 8th century. However, what you see today is a Romanesque and Gothic building constructed between 1220-1315. The exterior is architecturally attractive, highlighted by twin towers with a connecting bridge. The interior is modest with a centre nave and side aisles. The choir, rod screen, main altarpiece and stained glass windows are quite decorative and nice to see. There is an impressive organ in back as well.

Stadtkirche St. Dionys was founded in the 8th century, with the current structure built in the 13th century primarily in the Gothic style. Its asymmetric twin towers are connected by a bridge, added to stabilize the leaning southern tower. The interior is austere, with rib‑vaulted ceilings and octagonal sandstone piers featuring richly carved capitals depicting figures such as dragons and Adam and Eve. Furnishings include a late Gothic choir screen (lettner) from 1486, a 1604 altarpiece by Peter Riedlinger, a 1609 Renaissance pulpit, and one of Württemberg’s largest organs, from the Late Baroque.

A very beautiful church. Now there is an organ hall. It is said to be one of the best organs in southern Germany. I heard quite a bit. The wedding began in the temple and we only looked a little at the interior. I hope to come here again.

We actually visited Stadtkirche St. Dionys twice — that’s how much this place pulls you in. The first time was a Sunday morning, and the doors were open but a mass was in session, so we just stood quietly near the entrance. The sound of the choir and the organ filled the space, echoing through the ancient stone arches — it gave us chills. It felt reverent, intimate, and deeply rooted in the rhythm of local life. When we came back later that afternoon, the church was empty, and that’s when you really start to see its character. Inside, St. Dionys is breathtaking — tall Gothic columns rising like a forest of stone, stained-glass windows glowing in shades of deep red, blue, and gold, and shafts of sunlight cutting across the pews. The whole place feels serene but not cold — there’s warmth in the worn wooden benches, in the faint scent of candle wax, and in the quiet footsteps that seem to echo softly no matter where you walk. Look up, and the ceiling is a masterpiece — intricate ribbed vaulting that draws your eye toward the altar. The altar area itself is simple yet elegant, framed by soaring arches and illuminated by colored light filtering through the glass. There’s also a beautiful crypt below, where you can sense the age of the structure — parts of the foundation date back nearly a thousand years.

Esslingen am Neckar: Easily the most beautiful town closest to stuttgart! Easiest thing is to leave the car in one of the many underground parkings (1h = 1.50€) The two main gothic/medieval churches are beautiful, the old town and the main square are equally pretty with the typical traditional houses/buildings loads of places to eat and drink and the sunset views from the castle are stunning.

Such a beautiful church

Esslingen Market Square is surrounded by stunning half-timbered houses and historic buildings, it offers a perfect blend of medieval charm and modern vibrancy. The market square is home to cozy cafés, local shops, and seasonal events that bring the town to life.

A very nice walk thru and old city any time of year. We went on a warm October day and had a good time. Lots of cafes, shops, and bakeries with good coffee and food.

If you stand in the middle and spin slowly, you’ll see centuries of history in one 360° view — it’s that kind of place. And when the sun’s out, the light hits the buildings just right, creating this warm, honey-colored glow that’s pure cinematic gold. Photographers love it, and honestly, it’s hard to take a bad shot here.

i loved the medieval theme Christmas Market! with all the detailed decorations, people wear beautiful medieval costumes. making you feel you are back to the past. my very first Christmas Market experience, it really doesn't disappoint me. it was eye opening.

Stopped by for an afternoon during the recent Estival, Jazz and Weiss Beer in the sunshine. Knew nothing about the Estival before seeing the advertising at Tram stations in Stuttgart the night before. Hopefully visit again for the Christmas market.

I was here for the Christmas Market and it îs a beautiful medieval market with very good vibe and food. The only suggestion is to go durring the day cause at night it is overcrowded and the lights are not worth it.Awesome place, much nicer than the Stuttgart one.

built as a memorial for the sudden death of the young princess as a love last gift from Kaiser. the surrounding is amazing with grape field and old houses. you can see Stuttgart till the Tv tower. the entrance is cheap and you can see the chapel which looks like the Roman Pantheon.

I went there with some colleagues after work. It was an amazing place to go. I think I do have like a wine tour or something like that somewhere nearby but I’m not 100% sure. I saw some people drinking at the top and they were part of a wine tour.

Simple, silent and lovely place. You can relax and at the same time get impressed by work performed by a great artist. Overall, great scenic view of Stuttgart

Best place to see Sunset and cityscape from top. There are lots of sitting places surrounding the area. You will also find a coffee shop close to top. The area is open to the public. Only the chapel has an entrance ticket. Good spot to have a drink or some snacks or food with friends and family. You can bring your own food and drinks. You can also enjoy the night lights of the city of Stuttgart.
