Scuola Italiana Sci e Snowboard Folgarida Dimaro

Ski school
Classes & Workshops
If you're looking for an exceptional skiing and snowboarding experience in the heart of the Dolomites, look no further than Scuola Italiana Sci e Snowboard Folgarida Dimaro. This school has garnered a loyal following over the years, with families returning year after year to take advantage of their top-notch instructors. Parents rave about the personalized attention their children receive from dedicated teachers like Diego and Chiara, who make learning fun and engaging.
Little one was at the ski school for 6 days with Angela and Lorenco. They both are amazing to manage non-english or Italian speaking 4.5 years old and teach him skiing. I took snowboard lessons with Roland - very kind and professional!!! Best ski & snowboard school around!
Iva I — Google review
A large school with many instructors. Unfortunately, despite prior assurances, the instructor leading the children's group did not speak English, only Italian. As a result, we had to transfer our daughter to private lessons, for which we received a discount. Pros: The school manager’s professional approach and willingness to solve the problem. Cons: Misleading information and an incredibly argumentative staff member on-site, who kept repeating that nothing could be done—even calling the manager was supposedly not an option. In the end, it turned out that contacting the manager was possible, and private lessons could be arranged at reasonable hours.
Michał — Google review
Had a snowboard lesson with Cecilia and it was excellent! She's a great teacher and her English was perfect. We did a lot in the hour we had, she got me to try many new things. And most important, we had fun the whole time (especially when I fell into a tree). Thanks again Cecilia, I used many of your tips throughout the rest of my stay and worked on my jumps :)

Great instructors - very patient, knowledgeable and can explain things in a simple way, really recommend!

(Translated by Google) It has been ten years since 2014 that I have been coming to the Folgarida area every year. I started with Alessandro for the first time, a mutual sympathy was immediately born as well as the competence and professionalism of teaching. From then until now I always book the lessons of the week with him, the school is top, it has 1 office down in Folgarida and 1 right on the slopes where we start. Super advice for everyone, both for those who are just starting out and for those who already know how to ski, but need to start again and improve. The secretarial staff is also always very kind and helpful.

(Translated by Google) From 31 to 5 January 2018 I was able to personally meet and see how the instructor Stafano Baia works due to the need to follow my daughter due to health problems and I can assure you that she is an excellent instructor of this ski school, very competent, prepared, but above all very patient with children. It prepares them for every need and condition of the slopes to the point that after skiing with my daughter alone she was more confident than me in tackling every ski slope condition, from off-piste with deep snow to jumps and ice. An exceptional ski instructor Stefano Baia for me!!!! I recommend it. The next time I return to Folgarida, if possible, I will ask for him for private and group lessons for both me and my daughter. Thanks again for everything you taught my daughter Federica, Stefano.

It's already the second year that my 8 year old son has taken a snowboard lesson with Diego and he enjoys it so much that he already asks me to book him for the winter in September. This year I also took lessons with Chiara, a young and capable teacher from Romagna like me, so the Trentino-Romagna mix is not wrong, a very nice person, helpful and professional...see you soon!!! (Original) La migliore Scuola a Folgarida. Amazing experience for beginners. The river is super clean and water is cold (perfect for hot summers). Our guide Lupa was extremely cordial and friendly, we had a lot of fun with her. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They even helped us plan our next hikes in the mountains after the rafting. Definitely recommended.

We had a great rafting experience. It was less extreme than I expected. We don’t speak Italian, but Louis gave us a good explanation.

We had an great experience with Trentino Wild!! We practiced in an training raft and they explained the steps very clearly. Had great interactions with all of the guides while we raced down the river. But our guide "carlo" was definitely the best, we made an great team. It was so much fun, some adrenaline and wet shoes. Cascate di Saent

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Hiking under tall pines & across suspension bridges to a dramatic waterfall fringed by wildflowers.
Amazing hike which is not too heavy but offers beautiful scenery. When you’re lucky you can see some cows. We took approximately 2 hours to complete the hike. Parking was free but we visited in low-season.
許櫻花Sakura — Google review
The waterfall located in the heart of a lush forest is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable and peaceful places you can visit. The soothing sound of the nearby stream, the chirping of the birds, and the fresh breeze that blows through the trees create an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. This place makes visiting the forest feel like a true escape to a peaceful paradise.

Nice places for hiking! Round course is up to 3 hours. If you want to use the busses there have a look for the timetable online. You can safe 1 hour with busses if you want. Trail is medium. Not recommend if it rains.

Beautiful country side and waterfall worth a visit. Its quite a walk and even though today was hot (36° c) it was nice and fresh/chilly close to the falls.

Cascata di Parcines

Thundering, 97m-high cascade strongest during snowmelt of early summer, accessed via bus or hike.
Breathtaking view and trip up (pun intended). Certainly a point of interest that highly recommended to visit. Bonus point - there was a stray goat just relaxing on the observation trail 🤣
Pinter H — Google review
Cant say that hiking since we drove until the entrance of the path and from there takes 10 mins walking to the waterfall. It was so relaxing to be in this nature with the sound of the waterfall and view of the Alps. Totally recommended!
Merve A — Google review
Worth a visit if you're in the area. You could park in Parcines Town and then you can take the local bus to the waterfall. Or you can drive up the road and then you have a steep walk uphill for 15-20minutes. And there's a viewing point where you can get closer and take photos over the view. If you like, you can choose to take the road instead of the path.
Linda B — Google review
Steep steep steep up hill with a car, be aware that your clutch will suffer 😂 But it was worth it, nice nature, waterfall, and trails for hike.
Marko L — Google review
It's a beautiful view point. Easily got there with the bus

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is a winter paradise with its high-altitude runs reaching up to 3,000 meters, offering excellent snow conditions even in the lower areas. The resort features expansive and well-groomed slopes suitable for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. With modern lift systems and a well-connected network of slopes, visitors can easily navigate between different areas. Additionally, the resort provides night skiing opportunities and a snow park for added excitement.
Great high ski resort. Minimal queues. Good, wide blue runs although there are some blues from the top of the mountain that should not be blues, too narrow with shear side drop offs. Will definitely visit again.
Kay M — Google review
Obergurgl is a stunning alpine village offering excellent skiing, breathtaking views, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Great snow reliability, modern lifts, and charming hotels make it a top winter getaway in the Austrian Alps. Near the end of season a lot of the bars and restaurants shut but it still has a nice feel about it.
Graham W — Google review
Had a great experience here! Outstanding views, very good quality of slopes and overall infrastructure. I highly recommend it!
Roman ( — Google review
Awesome enormous ski area with breathtaking Tyrolean views. Great grooming. Although there were lots of people the last week in February when we were there, the lifts handle the crowds and the slopes were decently uncongested. Just gorgeous.
Monika S — Google review

Chris F — Google review
Beautiful, awesome ski runs, great early season snow conditions with amazing views
D J — Google review
If you're looking for the ultimate winter escape, look no further than Obergurgl! This ski resort in March is nothing short of perfection—think powdery snow, crisp mountain air, and sunshine that makes you want to ski all day long. The snow quality? Top-notch. It's like skiing on marshmallows (but way cooler!). The slopes are impeccably maintained, offering something for everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros. Not to mention, the après-ski vibes are just as good as the skiing—delicious food on the slopes and cozy accommodations that make you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can’t help but smile with every turn. If you're not here yet, what are you waiting for? Get ready to make your friends jealous with your epic photos and unforgettable memories!

Gaislachkogel is a stunning mountain peak that can be accessed by gondolas, offering breathtaking views of over 20 mountains at over 3000 meters. Visitors can enjoy the glass-walled restaurant with terraces and friendly service, making it a great spot for epic Instagram photos. Additionally, the peak features an interesting James Bond museum, as scenes from the blockbuster film "Spectre" were filmed here.
Amazing view, together with an amazing restaurant.

Visited in summer. We are not fans of James Bond so did not fancy paying the entrance fee for the showcase part. For us (hikers) it was just a time-filler on a rest day and we only went because the cable car was free of charge with the Oetztal card. It is just a summit full of people in jeans chasing instagram photos....there are much nicer views from other summits in Ötztal, but these you have to hike to.

Great place for sledding....but newbies take all the necessary precautions and proper clothing. The sledding tracks offer some challenges.....you might fall off few times due to steep hair pin bends. Always tie the sledge to your wrist, else it might slip and go in the valley below. For Young children , parents should first access the risks and helmets should be mandatory

Bridge
Sightseeing Tours
Highline179 is an exhilarating pedestrian suspension bridge that spans 406 meters over a river gorge, connecting the castle ruins of Ehrenberg with Fort Claudia in Reutte. Adjacent to the Burg, this thrilling bridge offers visitors the sensation of floating as they walk across its narrow and open construction. The bridge stands at a height of 114 meters above the ground and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The landscape is breathtaking, surrounded by mountains, and crossing the Highline bridge was truly thrilling. It took us about 10–15 minutes to walk across, and on the other side you’ll find small benches where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the scenic views. There’s also a little playground for kids and a short 10-minute movie, though it might feel a bit scary for some children. The view from the castle is equally beautiful—definitely worth a visit!
Sukhada K — Google review
Bloody incredible!!! You need to not be too scared of heights but its such a rush when you make it to the other side. Views are incredible! For €72 for my husband & I, we got a ride up to the 1st station, a walk across the suspension bridge & back, a walk around the fort & a ride down on the zip line. Such a thrill for two Aussies to see and experience all of this. Highly recommend this!
Noelle J — Google review
Very nice experience overall. Worth it! We were skeptic at first but eventually it turned out good. There are actually 3-4 things to do. 1. The highline bridge itself. Hanging and very long....people get there cross it and go to other side. Go to the viewpoint next to the end and click nice views of the valley. 2. Come back and do the ruins. 12-14th century. For historians ig would be great. For others some history and some good views. 3. You could go further up by another cable car...separately charged. ( you could buy all the tickets at the start @bottom). Astounding views. Ruins of the fort and small store for drinks etc. 4. Come down to original level and you can do the zip line (20 euros) or come down back through cable car. 5. Kids playing areas as well at both the levels. Overall great. Posting some pics. See the views yourself. Toilets at all levels. Car park entry both sides of the road. Leave a thumbs up if you like the review and the photos.
Nand J — Google review
When one is in the neighbourhood as in our case just over the border from Germany, this is a drill seeking adventure not only walking the bridge, but the option to visit a number of castles, all ruins, but with so much of history, to the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In our case we took the Ehrenberg Liner via an inclined elevator, Europe largest. We transit to TopLiner to enjoy Fortress Schlosskopf, with all the views around. Return to the middle station highline 172, 400 meters above ground with the occasional winds and movements, a real moment, one for the bucket list. We ended up at Castle Ehrenberg. Plenty of payable car park available.
Eswiss64 — Google review
Bridge 179, a tourist attraction. The largest iron bridge in Europe connecting 2 points (fortresses). There is a large parking lot a few minutes walk from the start of the route. Parking costs 5 euros for a regular car. There are 2 routes to choose: 1) on foot, about a 20-minute walk up the mountain to the bridge. 2) go up by funicular (31 euros for a family of 2 + 2). The cost of the bridge per family is 36 euros. if you want to go up to the higher part (1740 meters) another 31 euros (really not cheap) you can do the first part on foot up + down. The bridge is crazy, really long above the entire area - the bridge sways but very safe. In addition, there is a small museum on site. A very nice experience, very special but not cheap.
Sharon F — Google review
Very nice experience! It actually turned out to be a great exercise for me since I’m a bit afraid of heights. You can hold the sides to feel safer, and although it moves slightly when others walk, it feels stable overall. The view is amazing, especially on a clear day. If you’re scared of heights, I recommend visiting during quieter hours — it’s totally worth it!
Rochella J — Google review
What an unexpected day here, stunning landscape and worth every euro to enter. The high line is super safe but sways enough to give you some thrills. Wasn’t a part of our original journey but if you are thinking about it, just do it. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke English (Danke). Parking and entry were available via credit card but bathrooms (WC) were cash pay by coin and with a change machine available.
Jacob S — Google review
We visited Highline179 today with friends and it was a stunning experience! The suspension bridge itself is absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views over the valley and surrounding mountains. The short walk up to the entrance took us about 10–15 minutes on one side, and it was well worth it once we stepped onto the bridge. Crossing it together was exciting, a little thrilling, and gave us amazing photo opportunities. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!

Nice place, good atmosphere. Can only be visited with the guided tour (we got one in French). The guided tour is short and not very interesting, I would prefer just to have a nice walk around.

Fantastic Baroque Cistercian Abbey. Beautifully kept. There is a gift shop and restaurant here. Entrance only via a guided tour, currently €12.50

Great experience to visit the abbey..if you manage align with the guided tour that will be perfect...would recommend it only with the tour...

most beautiful in the world. A must visit.

Even on a sunny day, this abbey defeats all expectations you could have before or after reading this review. There were flowers on all the right places. There were green mountains as a backdrop for the yellow walls. Inside, wrought iron roses and other motifs did not really obstruct the glory of gold on everything remotely related to liturgy in the paid area we did not enter. We, and our three little children, effortlessly spent two hours there, perusing the parts that were free, and doing a spontaneous family photo session on the sloping lawns.

I stayed here for a week in summer 2022. And I share the enthusiasm of other reviewers. A must see on a visit to Tirol. The Church with its early Baroque elements and other features is particularly stunning and unique.

Hotel Füssen is a cozy property located on a charming street in the old town. The rooms, although small, are clean and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. While there's no air conditioning, the central location allows for easy exploration of the area's colorful houses and proximity to attractions like the High Castle of Füssen. The friendly staff and convenient parking add to the overall positive experience.
Perfect stay! Starting with the room, which was brand new in the new wing of the hotel, very spacious with 2 queen size beds (this room was for 3 people), under floor heating and a large tv. Even though the hotel is positioned in the center and main pedestrian alley, it is not noisy at all. Very nice staff, good food (breakfast), there were options for everybody. Will definitely be back, totally worth it (the prices are good for what they offer)!

We had a perfect stay at Hotel Fussen. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The included buffet breakfast was very good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We really liked the location of the hotel. It's just a few minutes walk from the train and bus stations, where you can take transport to do hikes in the nearby areas and the Neuschewanstein and Hohenschwanghau castles.
Debbie L — Google review
My bottom line on any property is: would I recommend it to family and friends. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Too many negatives. Our room, for instance, was extremely hot with no way to cool it down. At least 80F/27C at night. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet jammed into a corner. You had to sit on it at a 45-degree angle. The shower was like trying to rinse w an eye dropper the water pressure was so bad on the second floor. It had a waterfall faucet in the shower, but the water pressure wasn't strong enough to keep it on. The sheets were like sleeping on burlap. The worst, though, is the confusion they had on my stay. They put me in one room, then claimed I was in that room plus another. They called multiple times and sent 'urgent' emails wanting to know why I was in two rooms and told me I needed to move my belongings ... Only to find out that they had screwed up. I didn't appreciate the implications that I had done something wrong and really didn't appreciate the multiple interruptions while I was trying to vacation. Travelling can be stressful enough ... I didn't need extra when I wasn't at fault. And on the day I was checking out, they sent emails to check in online. What? Why? Location was great. The restaurant is very nice. But there must be better hotels in Fussen that solve their own problems without being so eager to foist them onto a guest.
Fletcher D — Google review
Finding the parking was a little challenging. You have to drive through pedestrian walkways yo the back. But once you know, it's the best place to stay and enjoy the old village. Fabulous all around!

Wonderful service and perfect location! Rooms were spacious and clean! Breakfast was extensive and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.
Lindsey H — Google review
Location is great but was expensive for one night stay. Can always look for better cheaper options nearby. Didn’t provide tea/coffee. Provided with hot water kettle only after request. Parking is behind the hotel as the front entrance is pedestrian only street
Priti K — Google review
Right in the heart of Füssen. Great breakfast and spacious rooms. Feels a bit like an Airbnb because of how check-in and check-out works. Reception is not open 24/7 so take that into consideration.
Daniel V — Google review
The location in the old town is perfect. The hotel is recently renovated in a modern style. Very clean rooms are big with high ceiling. You will enjoy your stay. The breakfast is sufficient although croissants finished 30 minutes before the service ended. Tea and coffee facilities could be added to each room.

Hohenschwangau Castle

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Hohenschwangau Castle, a stunning Gothic-style summer residence of King Ludwig II, is located near the Pollat Gorge. The castle is being rebuilt in the authentic style of old German knights' castles and will feature habitable guest rooms with splendid views of the Sauling and the Tyrolean mountains. Nestled in a breathtaking landscape alongside Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau offers insight into the royal upbringing of King Ludwig II.
The castle is truly beautiful, offering picturesque views from a distance that allow you to capture its full grandeur. I recommend purchasing tickets online to save time. While photography is not permitted inside the castle, I believe the tour could be enhanced with more detailed information and exhibits about its history. In my opinion, the exterior of the castle is even more captivating than the interior tour. Overall, it was a good place to visit.
Hiwi — Google review
Definitely a must see castle. The grounds and the views are amazing. Unfortunately you cannot take photos of the interior. But nonetheless the interior doesn't disappoint either. I recommend that you get your ticket and tour time set up online. It definitely makes things easier. There are a few restaurants around the castle that have great food. Plus souvenir shoppes too.
Timothy T — Google review
Just a short 30-minute walk from the world-famous Neuschwanstein lies Schloss Hohenschwangau, and we can genuinely recommend adding it to your visit. While Neuschwanstein often gets most of the attention, Hohenschwangau has a charm and authenticity all of its own. Set against rolling hills, peaceful forests, and a beautiful lake, the castle feels more intimate and lived-in, offering a fascinating contrast to King Ludwig II’s fairytale creation. Tickets can be bought in advance—something we recommend, especially during busier months—and guided tours are offered in several languages. The tour provides wonderful insight into the history of the Bavarian royal family and the important role this castle played in Ludwig’s childhood. Many rooms remain furnished just as they were, which makes the visit feel historically rich and surprisingly personal. Even if you decide not to join a tour, the area around Schloss Hohenschwangau is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The paths are easy to navigate, and the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are incredibly beautiful. It’s a calm and charming place to unwind, especially after the more intense and crowded experience of Neuschwanstein. Overall, we found Schloss Hohenschwangau to be a beautiful and worthwhile addition to the day—less crowded, full of history, and surrounded by stunning scenery. If you’re already in the area, it’s absolutely worth visiting both castles to get the full experience of this remarkable region.
Cheyenne B — Google review
Nice hike up, but not too difficult. The audio guide was really informative and the castle was beautiful. Such a great place to visit!
Markie K — Google review
I visited a lot of Ludwig’s castles and this one isn’t the most spectacular per se but it is a must see specially if you’re interested in his history. This is where he grew up and where his parents lived. The castle has a lot of history that you can learn during your visit. The visit is made with a guide but you have an audio guide in your own language during the tour. It is activated in each room by the guide and lasts a few minutes. Our tour guide was young lady with dark hair. I don’t remember her name but she was one of the best guides I’ve encountered in a museum. She was lovely, smiling, added additional informations during our visit and was gentle. We had a great time visiting the castle thanks to her. You can also visit the gardens for free if you want but you have to book a ticket to see the inside. Also up here you get a nice view over the Neuschwanstein.
Melanie M — Google review
Overall, visiting Hohenschwangau Castle is one of the must do things for any tourist in the area. Personally my visit was both meaningful and enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful, the history fascinating and the atmosphere peaceful. It offered a valuable look into the roots of Ludwig II’s life and imagination, making it a visit worth remembering. On a side note, it’s recommended to book in advance, park your car in parking number 4 and keep in mind that only guided tours are offered inside as well as that picture and videos aren’t allowed.
A. K — Google review
Even tough it's not probably as nice as Neuschwanstein I really enjoyed being inside and especially a look through the window at the end of the tour. Around the castle there are food stands where you can enjoy a hot chilly and some sausage with drinks.
Pavle R — Google review
I visited the yellow castle since the smaller white one was sold out. I was blown away by how amazing the artwork is within. It's unfortunate that pictures aren't allowed inside considering how inspiring the story was. I'd suggest that more people book the yellow castle to see and learn about the old rulers.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th-century hilltop fortress commissioned by King Ludwig II, is a must-see attraction nestled in the Bavarian Alps near the Austrian border. It's one of Germany's most visited sites and offers tours of its lavishly furnished rooms. While it's a popular tourist spot, some travelers recommend exploring other day trips from Munich for a more rewarding experience.
🇩🇪 A Must-Visit in Germany: Neuschwanstein Castle If you’re planning a trip to Germany, Neuschwanstein Castle is an absolute must-see. Perched on a hill in Bavaria, it looks like something straight out of a fairytale — and it’s no wonder it inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle! There are two main options to reach the castle from the ticket center: 🚌 By shuttle bus 🐎 By horse-drawn carriage For the return journey, you can use the same options or do what we did — walk back down. It’s about a 15–20 minute walk, and totally worth it for the scenic route and peaceful forest atmosphere. One of the highlights of our visit was Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge). From here, you get a stunning panoramic view of the entire castle — definitely postcard-perfect! We chose not to go inside the castle and instead spent our time enjoying the breathtaking views and the fairytale ambiance from the outside. It was still a truly magical experience. 🛍️ There’s a souvenir shop on site with some nice mementos. ☕ Unfortunately, the café was closed during our visit. 🚗 Parking is available, though a bit pricey if you’re only staying for a short time. Overall: A memorable and highly recommended experience!
Virgiele C — Google review
The castle location is so beautiful. It is a treat for the sight just to hike towards the castle that is surrounded by bavarian alps. The guided tour, on the other hand is rather short (only 30min). The rooms are accessible only by lots of stairs and no photography is allowed. Only 14 castle rooms were furnished. Furthermore during our visit the cafe was also closed. This was a bummer since the ticket is so expensive for 23euros per person. Furthermore even though young kids are allowed inside the castle for free they need their own ticket and it can't be booked online. The ticket we got got our toddler from the information booth did not have a scan code and my daughter could not get inside so i had to run to fund security to let her inside. The security guide solved the issue quickly though. The point is that the ticket handling system must be more organized and improved upon. On the other hand, the cave room, singers room and the balcony were breath taking so the hassle was kind of worth it. The ticket price should be reduced though. I would say overall it was a very pleasant experience.
Rabia R — Google review
A real-life Disney castle — but truly so much more than that! ✨ I still couldn’t get enough of this place. Every corner feels like stepping into a fairytale. The guided tour is a must — make sure to book it early, as tickets sell out fast. No photos are allowed inside, but it’s absolutely worth it. Each room reflects incredible richness, elegance, and the artistic soul of King Ludwig II — his passion for theatre, music, and beauty shines through every detail. It’s about a 20-minute walk uphill from the ticket area, but they also offer bus services (check the timings!) and horse-drawn carriage rides for a more scenic way up. The path is a bit steep, but once you reach the top, the view and the castle itself make every step worth it. King Ludwig II was truly a dreamer — and walking through his creation feels like walking inside his imagination. Go see it — it’s magical, surreal, and simply unforgettable. 🌄💙
Amrtha R — Google review
The castle is located in a beautiful setting. Tickets may be bought online or in person (reservation recommended for peak season). There’s free shuttle from downtown Füssen to the ticket center. There’s plenty of paid parking. To get up to the castle you may hire a chariot or walk up for 30-40 minutes. The scenery is beautiful and it is worth the walk. During summer the path is shaded by the threes. Inside the castle there’s plenty of stairs to go up. I advise looking up if it is wheelchair accessible.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5-Star Review – Neuschwanstein Castle Parking at Platz 4 is very spacious and costs €12 for 6 hours, conveniently located right next to where you catch the bus up to the castle. The bus fare is €5 per adult round trip, and it’s a smooth ride with beautiful scenery along the way. At the top, the area is clear and open, perfect for walking or biking with stunning views all around. The trails are beautiful, offering several photo spots and breathtaking panoramas of the castle and the valley below. There’s also a small snack and souvenir shop at the top with plenty of space and clean bathrooms, making it an easy and comfortable stop before or after exploring. Overall, Neuschwanstein Castle is a magical experience — well worth the visit and the walk. The scenery alone makes it unforgettable!

When near Fussen and Schwangau Neuschwanstein Castle is a must. A beautiful 40 minute uphill walk will bring you there. You can take a shuttle or horse and buggy but the walk is doable if you like and are used to walking/hiking. We did not pay to go in but got good photos from many vantage points outside.
Leila S — Google review
You won't regret visiting here. It's beautiful on the outside but absolutely gorgeous on the inside. If you have trouble walking, definitely take the horse carriage up and/or down (costs money). The walk down is much easier. They have the cutest store after the tour and don't forget to check out the view outside near the bathrooms before leaving. You will not regret it!!
Casey — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking and immersive. The hike up is beautiful and you can take your time just enjoying the scenery. Plenty of photo opportunities outside of the castle, but no pictures inside until you get to the cafe.

It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a picturesque hiking loop and opportunities for boating. The area surrounding Eibsee is rich in natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Alps, with easy access to Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak. Visitors can also enjoy modern amenities such as restaurants and hotels while experiencing Bavarian traditions and craftsmanship.
Without a doubt, the best and cleanest lake in Germany! The water is a bit cold due to the fact that it is next to the peak of Germany🇩🇪🗻. Definitely go for a round tour around the lake, you will see variety of amazing views🌅 It might be overcrowded over the weekend.

Beautiful, I recommend to go very early since the lake gets incredibly crowded from 9 a.m. The walk doesn't have lots of climbing, mainly a flat trail with amazing views. A relaxing walk and dogs enjoy it.

Eibsee: Bavaria's Emerald Jewel Eibsee is, quite simply, an out-of-this-world natural spectacle. Located at the base of the mighty Zugspitze, it offers a visual experience that feels less like a hike and more like stepping into a postcard. The water is a startling shade of turquoise and emerald, perfectly reflecting the dramatic mountain backdrop, creating a truly picturesque and unforgettable scene. The main attraction is the well-maintained circular path that traces the shoreline. This gentle, family-friendly walk is a pure joy, leading you through quiet forests and over small inlets. The trail's highlight is easily the small, charming wooden bridge that crosses one of the narrower points, providing stunning views across the water toward the tiny islands dotting the lake. Beyond the immediate loop, a network of excellent, quiet trails branch off, inviting hikers to explore the surrounding dense Bavarian woods. Eibsee is the perfect blend of accessibility, tranquil lakeside beauty, and high-alpine majesty.

Very beautiful. The water was warm on a chilly day. The walk around the lake is 9km. Very pure water, beautiful sights. Nice place to relax and take photos
Jagoda M — Google review
A god‘s marvel. The best view is when you are coming down from the Zugspitze with the cable car. The beauty and the serenity takes you in, just leaves you in awe of what nature can give to you. Eibsee is heaven on earth, just visiting once or twice is simply not enough.
Advait S — Google review
One of the most beautiful places in europe. Row/ paddle boat are available directly offline. However, tour (guide) boat needs to booked online in advance. Mobile toilets are available on the hike. There's a restuaraunt near the hoatung spot and that's the only place for food. Hiking takes around 3 hours with normal pace and few breaks. Row boat costs are around 15 euros for 4 people. Parking is available as well
Dhruva E — Google review
【This place is really suitable for hiking and water play】 Next time I come here, I will definitely bring swimsuit, beach shoes, a waterproof phone case and a mat. The most comfortable thing I can think of is to take a one-and-a-half-hour walk around the lake first, because of the shade of trees, it won't get sunburned at all. Then lie down by the lake to rest and play paddle boarding or kayaking for a while. It's a bit of a pity that I couldn't watch the sunset in order to catch the bus. I'll come again!

We just wanted to see how beautiful these crystals display. We did not buy anything from them, too bad for them. But the way they arranged their display, even on the way to exit, they enticed visitors with various pricing range to make sure that they would get something from them. Nevertheless, it's still worth a visit to see various crystals, such ones in marvel movies, Donald Duck etc. The display at ground floor (first enter) is €€€ above but the ones at 2nd floor is more affordable and attractive.

The staff were so nice! I bought a ring yesterday but realised it was too big once i cut off the rubber that tied it to the packaging. So i headed in to exchange my ring today. The exchange process was really easy and the staff were happy to help. I went in with my ring in M size, the original packaging and the receipt. And i tried on the S size ring with the help of a staff. Then i just brought the S size ring to the cashier and explained the need for a change in size. The exchange was super quick, took less than 10 mins altogether! Really thankful for the experienced staff and the helpful service!

The Golden Roof is a renowned Gothic oriel in Innsbruck, adorned with 2657 fire-gilt copper tiles that give it its name. Originally built for Emperor Maximilian and his wife to observe events below, it now houses a museum chronicling Innsbruck's history. The exterior is particularly impressive, featuring murals and intricate designs, while the museum offers an insightful look into the city's past.
The Goldenes Dachl or Golden Roof is a landmark structure located in the Old Town part of Innsbruck, Austria. It is a famous plaza of the city. This was completed in 1500 century. It was decorated with 2,000 plus copper tiles for the Emperor at that time. The Emperor and his wife used the balcony to observe festivals, tournaments, dancing, and other events that took place in the plaza below. Up to this day, the plaza is being used for basking, dancing, and events. It's us a nice walk around the plaza with the varieties of shops.

The Golden Roof is Innsbruck’s most famous landmark, a late Gothic balcony built in 1500 for Emperor Maximilian I and decorated with 2,657 gilded copper tiles. It’s an impressive piece of history and a symbol of the city, though the small size can feel a bit underwhelming compared to its fame. Worth a look while wandering the Old Town, especially for the historical significance, but don’t expect a grand spectacle.

The Golden Roof is a landmark located in the old town. It is the most famous symbol of the city. The roof, completed in 1500, was decorated with 2,657 gilded copper tiles for Emperor Maximilian I to commemorate his marriage to Bianca Maria Sforza. The emperor and his wife watched various events from the balcony. Unfortunately, due to the height, it is not possible to see the details more clearly.
Bogdan M — Google review
The entry to the museum is free with the Innsbruck card. So I went in to take a look... It wasn't much. But provided some relief from the scorching sun. You have to go upstairs.
JY T — Google review
Each building on the street is so defined and colorful that you can almost miss this one with the golden roof built for the Emperor so he could view the street and tournaments. Nevertheless it’s gorgeous. There’s a small museum inside but I didn’t go in. There is so much to see on the street across from this Goldenes Dachl that you become distracted with the sheer art that these two streets are.

Altstadt Innsbruck, also known as the Old Town, is a charming area nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Alps. Strolling through this medieval quarter offers a comprehensive overview of Innsbruck's famous landmarks such as the iconic Golden Roof, Imperial Palace, Triumphal Arch, and Maria-Theresien Street. The area is rich in history with some buildings dating back over 500 years and meticulous efforts to preserve its medieval details.
Charming and Timeless – A Walk Through Altstadt Innsbruck My visit to Altstadt Innsbruck (Old Town Innsbruck) was like stepping into a storybook. Nestled between majestic Alpine peaks, this historic heart of the city effortlessly blends medieval charm with vibrant modern life. As I wandered through its narrow, cobbled streets, I was surrounded by colorful façades, intricate architecture, and the kind of Old World ambiance that’s hard to find elsewhere. The highlight, of course, was the iconic Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), glimmering in the sunlight and drawing in history lovers and photographers alike. The nearby buildings, adorned with frescoes and Gothic windows, added to the enchanting atmosphere. Every corner had a hidden gem—from quaint cafés and boutique shops to local markets and street performers that made the experience feel authentic and alive. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or just soaking in a picturesque European setting, Altstadt Innsbruck doesn’t disappoint. It’s walkable, welcoming, and rich in culture. I only wish I had more time to explore its museums and enjoy a few more Austrian pastries at one of its charming bakeries. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tyrol—this place is not just a stop; it’s a highlight.

The medieval heart of the city, where the urban layout from the 15th–16th-century Habsburg era remains well preserved. Centered around the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), the area extends along Herzog-Friedrich-Straße, with traces of old fortifications and narrow historic alleys. Against the dramatic backdrop of the Nordkette mountain range, it forms the iconic scene often described as the "Old Town in the Alps."

Partnachklamm, located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is a narrow and picturesque gorge featuring waterfalls and a walkway, making it a popular destination for hikers. During winter, torch hiking tours are available in the area, offering an exciting way to experience the beauty of the gorge. The 703m long and 80m high Alpine wonder provides breathtaking views of spraying waterfalls, rapids, and calm basins.
A Must-Visit for Nature Lovers! 💚🏞️ Partnachklamm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited — truly a wonder created by nature. If you ever get the chance, this place is an absolute must-visit! I wish I could go there again. The whole experience feels magical. The stunning gorge, the flowing river, and the natural ambience — it’s honestly hard to describe in words. You’ll be walking along the riverbanks, and much of the path runs through tunnels where it feels like it’s raining inside. It’s such a unique and refreshing feeling. A quick tip: If you can handle the cold, it’s better to wear shorts or something you can easily fold up. The pathway can get wet, and your clothes might get dirty by the time you exit the gorge. But if you’re sensitive to cold, make sure to carry a jacket with you. If you love nature, adventure, and breathtaking views, you’re definitely going to love this place!

A must visit for all people who like walking though nature. This place is amazing and so beautiful. U walk through it and wonder how nature works and see that if u leave nature to itself it does amazing things. People with wheelchair, strollers and people with walking handicap will have a hard time walking though here. Also when u go through the gorge is good to have a flash light, waterproof clothing and hiking booth.

Beautiful experience! The Partnachklamm is very well maintained and easy to follow, with clear paths and a nicely mapped route through the gorge. It’s a relatively easy hike. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but the scenery more than makes up for it. After exiting the gorge, there are plenty of hiking trails to choose from if you’d like to continue exploring. Highly recommended!

Amazing place, gorgeous. Nature is impressive and the power of water is very obvious here. Some parts are rather dark though, so maybe bring a torch or just use your mobile phone for lighting. The paths are narrow in some parts but seeing that there wasn't too much going on, it was not a problem. I can imagine that it might be bothersome on busy day.
Caughtbyfantasy — Google review
Visiting Partnachklamm – Beautiful, But Overpriced Partnachklamm (Partnach Gorge) is undeniably a natural wonder and a must-see if you're in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. The gorge is stunning, with its narrow passageways, towering limestone walls, and the sound of rushing water echoing through the canyon. It's an impressive display of raw natural beauty that photographers and nature-lovers will absolutely appreciate. However, the experience does come with a downside: the entrance fee. At €10 per adult (as of 2025), it feels steep for what is essentially a short, 700-meter walk through the gorge. While the path is well-maintained and safety measures are clearly in place, the high price doesn’t quite match the duration or complexity of the attraction. There's no guided experience included, and facilities are fairly basic. If you're traveling with a family or on a budget, the cost can add up quickly. It would be more reasonable if the ticket included access to nearby trails or some additional interpretive content about the geology and history of the gorge. In short: Pros: Stunning scenery, unique experience, easily accessible. Cons: Short walk, crowded during peak hours, and overpriced for what you get. Worth visiting once, especially if you've never seen a gorge like this before — but be prepared to pay more than you'd expect for a brief nature walk.
Virgiele C — Google review
It’s a beauty. Observing the gorge and the surrounding was a very nice adventure. Obviously it might get a bit crowded especially on the weekends but the beauty wouldn’t allow anything to interfere. There is also a very nice hike route right after the gorge. Totally recommend.
Ali — Google review
Amazing experience walking along the catwalk and carved path through this glacial slot canyon! The water is clear and tinted ice-blue, rushing, and slicing through space that seems only a few feet wide, while you walk through cavernous tunnels and under overhangs. And then, coming out the other side, you get to walk back above and over it all! What a fun hike!! Just be prepared for some steep walking with good shoes, water, and a flashlight for those dark sections!
Brian B — Google review
Very beautiful gorge. Absolutely worth the entry price. Expect to get some drops of water as you go. It was pretty busy on a Friday morning. The walk above the gorge on the way back is really picturesque too.

Mountain cable car
Transportation
Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen Betriebs GmbH (Nordkette) is a modern transportation system connecting Innsbruck with Hungerburg, designed by Zaha Hadid. The cable car ride offers a scenic 20-minute journey to the Nordkette, showcasing breathtaking views of Innsbruck and its surrounding mountain landscapes.
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! The Nordkette Cable Car is like riding straight into a postcard. 🚡 You start right in the heart of Innsbruck, glide up on the Hungerburg funicular, hop on the Seegrubenbahn, and before you know it you’re soaring over alpine meadows and jagged peaks. The final stretch to Hafelekar feels like you’re being lifted to the edge of the sky — and the views at the top? Absolutely jaw-dropping. 🌍✨ The ride itself is smooth, the cabins are clean, and the staff are friendly. Pro tip: go on a clear day — you’ll see the whole city spread out below and snow-capped peaks stretching forever. Bring a camera and a jacket, because even in summer it’s chilly at the top! Whether you want to hike, snap a million photos, or just sip a drink with the most epic backdrop imaginable, this is a must-do in Innsbruck. Worth every cent and then some.
Ashley C — Google review
Value for money if you go during happy hours. Even if you don’t find tickets online, just go there and they will apply the discount of 20% during happy hours. We went around 4 PM and I think it is perfect timing. Very little rush in funicular, cable cars (there are 2) , view point and also in the cafe/restaurant.
Jaydeep T — Google review
Great visit. A total of two sets is cable car takes you to the top location. The views are splendid. Allow approx. 3 hours for the complete trip.
Hash K — Google review
Amazing thing to do when you want to escape the heat in the city on a hot cloudless day! Cable car and gondola can be packed. Getting tickets online is a good idea. It’s not cheap but the views totally worth it!
W. H — Google review
I came here in March 2025 I had a brilliant time going to The Top Of Innsbruck. Exciting travel up the mountain. Short but sweet walks. Brilliant views. Food and drink options. A very fun climb to the top. wait time for cable cars is usually not too bad.
Joe S — Google review
Cost is slightly high but the experience is the best, must to do activity. Don’t miss to go to the top where there is a cross, it is a small treck but the view from apex is heavenly.
Siddharth V — Google review
An excellent way to see the top of Innsbruck! The station is clean and well maintained, and the ticketing system was clear. This is the first station for the rail car, then there are two more cable cars to reach the top station. The entire journey takes maybe 30 minutes if you time it correctly.
Madeline K — Google review
This is worth an experience. The views are just stunning and you can see whole of Innsbruck scattered and beautiful. This is one of the must go places in Innsbruck. It takes you to the highest point where you can go for a small hike.

Nestled on the mountainside, Alpenzoo Innsbruck - Tirol is a conservation-focused zoo showcasing rare Alpine birds and animals, including wolves and golden eagles. Situated over 700 meters above sea level, it boasts a diverse collection of over 2,000 species such as bears, bison, otters, and more. Visitors can reach the zoo by climbing the hill or taking a trip on the Hungerburgbahn train.
A nice visit with kids when you are in town. The zoo has a good size for various animals in the region. You can simply finish the entire zoo in a couple of hours. There are actually plenty of interesting animals. All the descriptions are just written in German. So if you can't read German, get your Google Translate ready!
Preeyakorn P — Google review
Nice small zoo up lower area of the mountain. The crowd was less in the afternoon and my kid enjoy the playground in the zoo. There are mixture of birds and animals so it is easy to navigate around and visit this zoo. Only thing is reaching the zoo, either by driving or like us as tourists which we took the train instead.
Kenneth K — Google review
Great attraction up the mountain in Innsbruck. The animals were clearly very hot during a scorching August day, but the zoo did not disappoint. We brought our stroller which is recommended given a lot of walking required. Included in the Innsbruck card.
Madeline C — Google review
Some animals were cooped up in too small cages… on the other hand, some animals would already be extinct if it hadn’t been for zoos’ breeding programs.. So it’s a bit double. We enjoyed the visit but it would be a good thing if the cages of some of the bigger animals would be extended!
Hans S — Google review
Bigger than expected but a lot of empty cages. Built on a steep hill so be prepared to walk up and down hills. Having said that, there are some highlights; the brown bear, the alpine ibex, vultures, bison and wild boars. Add the zoo to your cable car trip for an extra €5. Recommend a walk to the the top of the foxes area where you can have an ice cream, swing on a wooden hammock and take in the views of Innsbruck.
John L — Google review
Great little zoo up in the hills. Nice to get up close with some of the animals. Brought the toddler there who wanted to nap so I had more fun. Love that the Moose stopped, looked at me, squat and pee’d whilst making eye contact with me 😂 Took the W bus from the town. Quick and efficient, easy to plan return trip as it came to the zoo every 30 mins.
J D — Google review
Great zoo with interesting ways of presenting the animals like open cages-you can actually have an eagle flying over your head. It seems that there was a lot of thinking in celreating each animal with the space that will suit it best

Get ready for a hike! Lovely place to spend half a day or more but like most people out here would have already posted, it has an uphill to downhill configuration, so you're in for a hike. Don't forget to visit the small museum they have as well.

Ettal Abbey, located just a few minutes away from Oberammergau, is a renowned Benedictine monastery with a Baroque church featuring a frescoed dome. The abbey has been brewing beer for over 400 years and offers its famous Weissbrau. Visitors can explore the chapel, browse unique items in the monastery shop, and visit the cheese factory/store behind the monastery. The abbey also houses a boarding school, hotel, distillery, and bookshop.
Ettal Abbey – A Beautiful and Peaceful Stop Worth Visiting Ettal Abbey is a stunning historic site that was just a short distance from where I was staying during a work trip. The architecture and grounds are absolutely beautiful, and it has a peaceful, serene atmosphere that makes it a great spot to explore or just take in the scenery. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just looking for a scenic place to stop, I highly recommend visiting. It’s definitely worth the detour if you’re in the area.
Brandon B — Google review
The abbey is free to enter, and though beautiful there is not a lot to see around the December holidays other than spending a few minutes in the (cold) chapel and wandering through the large gift shop. Facilities: In busier times there is a cafe. Small/mid-sized car parks are available for a few euros, and just a few minute walk from the chapel.
Becky T — Google review
Incredible house of God. Beautiful stunning architecture and painting. It took my breath away🥹 The colours and grounds are looked after so beautifully. Located in a stunning little town with so much history. The shop there is wonderful full of craftsmanship from the local people and people who live and work at the Abbey. Will be coming again!

A BEAUTIFUL monastery and basilica! Construction started in 1330, finish a century or so later…. This Benedictine monastery has been known throughout the centuries for its brewed and distilled libations and its cheese. The church is amazing… not big in size, but a knockout in stature! We heard someone practicing singing for Mass, the acoustics are great! A must see if you’re in the Ettal, DE area!

The place is a must to visit if you stay in Ettal or traveling through, the beer especially the dark beer very good! Their liquor nice too and the view amazing! Guide os possible but you can enter freely too and look around. Definitely recommend!!!

The highlight is the excellent cheese they make, purchase at the cheese house (see pic, free views), and the beer they brew. I was told by a local hiker I met on Mount Wank that the beer was unique, and it really is: dark but no bitterness with a creamy finish.

Kristall Therme trimini Kochel am See

Fun & Games
Set amid a scenic, alpine lake, this popular site boasts indoor & outdoor thermal pools & a sauna.
Really nice place. Best termal I've ever been. The staff at the reception was so nice too
Juan A — Google review
Pros: great view to the lake; food surprisingly good and big portion, I had the goulash only. Family friendly for family with children. For people don't want to be nude they can go on family days. Staff was friendly enough for German standard. Con: Not very high-end if you compare with Vabali. The facilities, lockers chairs, sauna rooms scream 70s but pricing is not too much difference if you compare them with the high end therme such as Vabali and the ones in black forest.
Isolde L — Google review
Unlike many reviews I found the Therme well kept and clean with lots of character. Specially liked the Hubertus Sauna that is in a repurposed mountain hut and the sauna ceremony. The access to the lake makes the experience even better. The steam bath could have been warmer but overall nothing to complain about. We had a free 4 hour access with the Konings card and it was the perfect place for a rainy day.
Anita B — Google review
Had a great experience at Kristall, the sauna Welt is a top class facility… but what really allowed me to feel really relaxed and at ease was a really amazing vibrations/sport massage I received. Adriana the massage therapist is extremely talented and professional.
Brent J — Google review
very good thermas, beautiful view, good saunas, not expensive. would recommend visiting. suitable for all ages, we were afraid it's mostly for elderly people, but it's not
Emil Z — Google review
Most of all I liked the view from the pool on the lake and Mountains. There are several pools indoor with warm water and outdoor, high water slide for both children and adults. If you go downstairs You can also swim in the lake or rent a sup board ( 15 euro per hour). Unfortunately we were with children on Thursday and we could not use saunas. Family days are Tuesdays and Sunday’s.
Olesia Z — Google review
Amazing Aufguss, especially the wellness Aufguss with honey scrub. The Sauna Meisters were on point, excellent service and hard workers that made a big impact on my time at the spa. Incredible views Kochelsee from all both levels of the sauna area. I really enjoyed the 12% salt bath on the balcony outside. The swim up pool bar is really cool and the bartenders are friendly. Overall an amazing and relaxing experience. My strongest recommendation to visit this spa if you are in Bavaria, you’ll walk out feeling heavenly!

Franz Marc Museum

Art museum
Museums
Paintings by a leading 20th-century artist at his former home, plus work by peers like Paul Klee.
Beautiful building in an exceptionally astonishing nature surroundings, worth a visit even just for a great view of Kochelsee. Admission 9 EUR with some reduced offers, for example for students it’s 6 EUR. Beautiful (although limited) collection of Franz Marc, Blaue Reiter and Bridge group artworks.
V Y — Google review
elegant art museum with blauereiter and contemporary exhibit. plus the nice lake view
Nathan G — Google review
A very elegant museum, not much in the museum itself just the artwork. But I think it beautifully portrayed the expressionist ideas of Franz Marc and the ideas off 20th century painters, there is also a beautiful room with four chairs in it where you have a splendid view of the lake and mountains. The whole thing is just very nice it's remote and minimalistic with only the painting being a pop of color in the establishment. But now the negatives, I would've really liked a larger exhibit, as the flors didn't have many paintings, which even though it looked nice, at the end of the day there weren't many paintings in there. Also the name is kinda misleading, it says Franz Marc museum but most of the art is from other blue rider and expressionist Painters. But overall a nice experience and I would totally recommend.
Theo K — Google review
I walked around 15 mins to the museum from Kochel Train station. Directions are marked on the way. The place was really peaceful and beautiful. The lake and car parking is very close from this place. It was very difficult to find a place to eat. I had to walk back in the direction of the train station to find a restaurant. There is a restaurant of the museum that is not so cheap and opens in specific times.
Priyanka M — Google review
Normally I do not expect much of art galleries and museum in small towns but I was very pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Very well designed building and surroundings. Also the possibility to watch the evolution of Franz Marc's ouevre under influences from French painters is an interesting journey. The temporary exhibition of Elfriede Lohse-Waechtler was a very good experience. Highly recommended!
Maria P — Google review
Very nice for art lovers, a beautiful collection of works done by Franz Marc. Elizabeth Macke, Heinrich Campendonk a must-see, and Kandinsky. Go early spend the day have some wine enjoy another side of Garmish that you may not have seen.
Johnie W — Google review
A delightful Franz Marc experience. What would make this museum a 5 star place would be translations. German is the only language in the exhibition, which makes it not so accessible for international visitors and art lovers.

Achen Lake is a stunning alpine destination with glistening turquoise waters, ideal for sailing, boating, and hiking. The 23 km trail around the lake offers breathtaking views of the crystal-clear water that shimmers in various shades of green and turquoise when hit by sunlight. The surrounding area is well-maintained with free access and no enclosures. Boating across the lake is a popular way to explore its expanse.
The size of the lake was huge ! One side was surrounded by snow moutains and the other was green, fresh mountains. Near the lake, there's a place you can sit or take a rest. Also, there's some children's activities every 500m, so kids will never get bored. 👍🏼👍🏼

Clear water, amazing people, great pubs nearby, place for kids, pets, for everything. As a fellow enjoyer of mountains i rate this. Pictures cant express how good it is. The lil swiss bear enjoyed it aswell.

Achen Lake is where the mountains lean in to kiss the water, and the sky drapes its light like silk across the waves. As I stood by the shore, the emerald waters mirrored not only the peaks above but the stillness within me. Each ripple felt like a whisper from nature — a reminder to breathe deeper, live slower, and let beauty seep into the soul. Here, time doesn’t pass; it pauses, so you can remember who you truly are.

Beautifull place. You can bath in the lake, but not for everyone cause it is very cold, the upside is that it is very healthy doing cold baths. There is a boat service to take you around the lake, also you can rent electric boats to go on the lake, 30€ 1 hour. You can also walk or bike. Strongly recommend.

A very beautiful lake with its views, you must take a boat ride and stop at the village of Pertisau, and also the steam train ride is not to be missed.

Super nice lake. Should visit with family and kids. They really love this place. Lot of option for hiking for both kids and adults. Some hiking are difficult for kids . You can see lot of water falls while hiking here. Boating is another good option . It’s really worth to boating. Sunny day will be the best time for hiking. There many restaurants. Parking place. Unfortunately toilet f Are bad even with paying. Many option for kids playing. Sunny day will be crowded. But hiking path are not crowded. So you can enjoy a lot. A very charming restaurant on the lakefront. Even though it was quite busy, the staff managed well and service was quick. The food was good — a mix of local and international dishes. You can pay by card in the restaurant, but unfortunately not at the small kiosk next door (selling ice creams and drinks by the children’s playground) — there it’s cash only.

It was such a lovely experience, though it was quite hot inside, but that’s to be expected with 30°C outside. On hot days, it’s a good idea to bring some water with you. 😊 The panorama was beautiful, and the cashier lady was very nice and helpful.

An amazing ride up to the wonderful Wallberg with breathtaking views of the Tegernsee. The weather can change quickly, but the gondolas, though small, offer a beautiful view if you're riding alone. 🌲 You glide over the treetops, sometimes feeling like you can almost touch them, like flying over nature. Some windows can even be opened. Truly an unforgettable experience! 🚡✨ The €27 for a round trip is absolutely reasonable.

Great place to hike. The cable car costs 11.5€/pers one way. One can walk then until the base in about 2.5 h. The parking lot is quite huge and FREE and one can find a place even in the crowded weekends. The upper views are amazing and there is also a restaurant above. There are some hike ways possible from above as well.

Decent price of 25€ per person. Best part is we don't have to wait for cable car. It is small cars which can accomodate a group of 4 max and runs continuously. Visitors can enjoy wellness activities, picturesque landscapes, and a variety of dining options. The area includes resorts such as Tegernsee, Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund, and Rottach-Egern.
Very calm lake, especially in this Autumn season. Great location and plenty to explore around. The fun would sure have been doubled with a bicycle. If you have one, then definitely bring one. Several places around to disembark on a journey of your own. Many peaks to climb around as well!

We took the BRB train from Munich to Tegernsee Lake, which was an easy and comfortable trip that took about an hour. We went just for sightseeing without swimming or taking a boat. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The lake and mountains create a stunning view that feels relaxing and refreshing. It’s a great place to walk around, sit by the water, and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Even without any activities, it was worth the visit. A Perfect Day Trip to Tegernsee – Nature, Adventure & Peace in One Place Taking the train from Munich to Tegernsee (RB 57) is an experience in itself. The journey is about an hour, but it feels like a scenic film , rolling green hills, charming Bavarian houses, and that magical moment when you first spot the shimmering blue lake from high above. Once you arrive, Tegernsee greets you with postcard-perfect views. The lakeshore is lined with elegant yachts gently swaying in the breeze, cozy cafes with outdoor seating where you can sip coffee while watching the sailboats, and peaceful beaches where the clear water sparkles under the sun. On a sunny day, the lake almost glows, making it perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply lying on the shore with a book. For those seeking a bit more excitement, Tegernsee offers plenty of water sports like kayaking, sailing, and stand-up paddling. And if you’re feeling adventurous, paragliding from the nearby mountains gives you a bird’s-eye view of the lake surrounded by the Alps. The whole area has a peaceful, rejuvenating atmosphere. It’s a blend of nature, clean alpine air, and just enough activity to keep you engaged. Whether you’re strolling along the promenade, exploring small shops, or enjoying the mountain backdrop from a sunny cafe terrace, there’s always something beautiful to take in. Bonus Tips for a Perfect Trip: 🕗 Go early morning, especially on weekends, to get a good seat for yoir friends/family. 🚆 Sit on the right side when heading towards Tegernsee for the best view of the lake from above; on the return journey, choose the left side for a repeat of the scenery. 🚌 There’s a bus service from Tegernsee Bahnhof that takes you to different spots around the lake. Divide your time wisely to see as many points as possible. Each corner of the lake has its own charm. Tegernsee is one of those places where time slows down, and you feel refreshed just by being there. Whether you come for sports, sightseeing, or simply peace and nature, it’s hard to leave without planning your next visit.

Stunning alpine lake, crystal-clear water, and epic mountain views. Easy 1-hour train from Munich. Perfect day trip for nature and relaxation. Go mid-week to avoid crowds!

Located in the beautiful countryside of Upper Bavaria. The area offered a gorgeous setting, where it was tranquil and peaceful. You can just sit back and enjoy the scenery by embarking on a ferry ride during the Summer.

This is the most amazing place I have visited so far. Want to visit this mesmerizing deramy place again. I felt like, I was walking in a fairy tale movie set. Although camera can not do justice to the breathtaking beauty of this place, still tried to capture a bit.

Tegernsee is one of the most beautiful lakes and even places, I have ever seen and been to!! Small lake and town near to Munich, less than 2 hours by car and also you can get there with train very comfortably, during pandamic all the shops in a small town are close but there are many small local shops for dining and decorative stuffs. But we enjoy sightseeing, hiking, relaxing and we were lucky because it was sunny that day and it helped us to enjoy more. Definitely I will come back and stay there for couple of days in hotel, one fay was not enough for me !!

The Tegernsee is a Zungenbecken lake in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. The lake is the centre of a popular recreation area 50 kilometres (31 mi) south-east of Munich. Resorts on the lake include the eponymous Tegernsee, as well as Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund, and Rottach-Egern.

Hellabrunn Zoo, located on the banks of the river Isar, is a nature reserve-style zoo that houses over 750 species from around the world. The zoo covers 89 acres and was the first to group animals based on their place of origin. With more than 1,900 animals living in large open spaces that replicate their native habitats, Hellabrunn Zoo provides a humane environment for its inhabitants.
One of the most beautiful zoos I’ve ever visited. Plenty of trees and shades. Variety of animals grouping together while it is quite close and open to see them. They have pretty good restaurants with quality food. Also have a few playgrounds that are super nice! I came here during summer time and it is perfect weather.

Absolutely amazing! The park is really big and has so many different animals, all in large and very well-kept spaces. It’s perfect for kids—my son had so much fun and we really enjoyed the day.

Absolutely must go if you have more than 3 days in Munich! One of the best zoos in terms of animal husbandry. Most of the exhibits were massive allowing a lot of room for the animals to roam. Most animals were lively and playful. The Biergarten was a plus and a delicious break from the hike.

Had a wonderful time visiting Hellabrunn Zoo. The zoo is spacious, well designed, and has a great variety of animals in naturalistic enclosures. My favorite parts were seeing the polar bear, which was really impressive up close, and the lynx, which I had never seen before in person. The giraffes were also a highlight, beautiful and elegant. The whole place feels very clean and well cared for, and you can tell the animals are looked after properly although for sure you can feel their loneliness 🥲. It’s a great place to spend a few hours exploring. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Munich, especially families with children.

Massive zoo! Loving it here. You can follow the tour path by following the orange signs. If you have kids, lots of playground to enjoy. For adults, I saw at least 3 Bier gardens and 2 other beer vendors.

The Zoo itself seemed very nice. I was super excited to see the Tiger. The Rino was very not energetic. He definitely was not hapoy. It was a hot day so he was probably just not wanting visitors. Hopefully they can get him some more room to get away when he wants to. Overall the zoo was great. Great staff and plenty of things to see. If I had one suggestion it would be to have more signage on the walkways. Not a lot more, but using the map and trying to get around on streets needed a bit more help.

The facilities are perfect for adventurous families who want to try something new. There's also a climbing playground for small children, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon with the family. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the area is well-maintained.
I went there with a friend and it was awesome! We did one course of indoor surfing and the sensation was really nice. I took debutant 1 lesson and I could start stand alone on the board and getting good feeling in the water, the 2 coach was reallly nice and patient. The. I also tried the flight Indoor and again the sensation is crazy! It’s only 2 minutes but your are flying!! The instructor was really nice and I have to recommande to ask for a taxi extra!

Very fun. This is for beginners and very skilled surfers. The wave was very controlled and it made it safe and fun. Fully recommend. It was safe and the staff were very helpful and even spoke English. This place is not only surfing but it also is skydiving, a zip line climb where you can climb up, and a really good restaurant with decently prices. Everything was a great experience and if you are ever in Germany you have to try this.

Jochen Schweizer Arena is an excellent location and venue for hosting corporate events. In addition to spacious meeting facilities, the food served for snacks and meals is good quality and portions are generous. And to top it off, there are activities such as indoor sky diving and virtual reality racing and more. It is easy to access by bicycle or car - parking available for both. Highly recommend.

I did the advanced class indoor surfing session and I loved it. The wave is way more powerful and way more fun than the Flosslande. The staff are super knowledgable about surfing. And the session itself offered a lot more surf opportunity than I expected. I surfed 14 times in 30 minutes.

Flying with Martin as the instructor was truly amazing. He took the care to learn everyones' names, was a definite expert at bodyflying and could teach us what to expect and do before going in, and more critically during our "flights". Very enjoyable experience

Really cool! A great way to get a feeling for free-fall without the scary step of jumping out of an airplane. The highly skilled instructors work hard supporting participants as needed to keep the experience safe and avoid injuries.

Great experience with flying but less impressive as we thought about

Room Escape Games
The escape room center, One Hour Left | Next Level Escape Game, offers an incredible and enjoyable experience with a welcoming staff. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a complimentary beverage and have the opportunity to solve desk puzzles. The focus at One Hour Left is not only on the puzzles but also on storytelling, as they provide a clear introduction to the background of each room. The rooms themselves are challenging yet fun, with plenty of scares and intriguing storylines to uncover as tasks are completed.
We absolutely loved it! So much, that we did 2 escape rooms within a couple of days over the Christmas period. Highly recommend “Psycho” and “Out of control” for 2 players - so so much fun! We have done quite a few rooms (30+) and these ones are definitely different to your usual rooms. So much fun, great story telling, amazing technology, great riddles and brilliant that the rooms can be played in German or English. We really have to highlight Roman - he is the best!! :) We will be back with more players for the last room - no doubt. Roman, please stick around, we want to come back to see you :) PS: for experienced players/escape room fans, really well done here as Roman has tailored his “hints” and we were able to go through it without being given help when we didn’t want it. He managed this brilliantly - can’t recommend enough

Very nice staff, interesting and challenging rooms. The quality of the room design and puzzles is great. I also love the diverse offer, including VR escape rooms. I have already visited two rooms and played one VR game. I will definitely try more!

GREAT escape room place! Wonderful staff, super friendly. The room we booked was very well playable in English as well as German. The plot was a very creative own invention, in a high-quality furnished setting. We had a really great time.

I had an absolut blast!! We played the virtual reality ninja escape room and it was amazing! Xaver is so enthusiastic and has created an experience that is truly out of this world. The game was super fun and I was so immersed in the world. At the equipment was super comfortable as well. If you have the chance, do one of the VR rooms. You'll want to come back for more - I for sure will visit again! Thank you for the awesome experience and for brining so much joy and passion into it!

Challenging, fun, and great storyline. Roman is the best game master, he truly plays his role well and invites you to become a part of the story. Come and test your teams skills or just have a good time.

Awesome escape room experience! Super friendly staff. No language barrier whether you are local or international. Support in both English and German. I enjoyed a lot. Thanks!
Azizul S — Google review
Awesome experience and awesome staff. We were welcomed with a small drink and were able to solve some desk puzzles upfront. Before going into our room, we received a quick and clear introduction into the story background, as One Hour Left puts emphasis on the story and not just puzzles. The room itself was surprisingly tricky but incredible fun. I would recommend going there over and over again.

We completed the Psychose room and it was very entertaining. Plenty of scares and it was very interesting to discover and unveil the story as you completed the tasks. We got stuck once or twice but the supervisors Vivien and Xavier were able to help out without spoiling anything! Would recommend to anyone!
