I have really enjoyed. Beautiful views around, from view terrace. About clouds, and few degrees less as down. Absolutely worth it 👌

Absolutely stunning. Make sure you have enough points on your ticket for going back down. At the top it’s just a viewpoint and a ski area. It’s very basic. The middle area has food and gifts. The food is also basic. It has more of a diner feel. Still leave enough time to go slow and enjoy the view.

Awesome views! Dolomites are amazing scenery, never disappoint. From the highest reachable point in the range (without rock climbing), you can see more that you can take in! The 360-degree observation deck is spectacular! The cable car ride up is interesting and intriguing. Great stop if anywhere near the area. The café/bar has good food (service was really slow when our group stopped in) at the 2nd stop, also the bathrooms, museum, and access to some trails with WWI tunnels. Top has the 360 deck where you are right there with Punta Rocca, plus the glacier and all the glory of the Dolomites spreading out all around you.
Richard — Google review
The most beautiful peak in the Dolomites The highest Full comfort Three cable cars with breathtaking views Amazing souvenir shop Many options for photo spots Option to climb on foot or by cable car (at the second station) Suitable for everyone It is possible to take the elevator from the top floor to the 4th and take photos on the snow surface There is a charming and well-kept museum about the First World War on the territory Very clean area. Marmolada, known as the "Queen of the Dolomites", is the highest mountain group in the Eastern Alps. Its highest peak, Ponte Peña, rises to a height of 3,343 meters above sea level and is surrounded by an impressive perennial glacier. The Marmolada area, which extends over more than 2,200 square kilometers, is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to its unique landscapes. Highly recommend The trip is recommended for a few good hours, starting at 9 am

I did the West ridge via ferrata. It was beautiful but cloudy. It's not a particularly challenging ferrata but there is a bit of snow below the forcella della Marmolada and on the ridge. I highly recommend the strudel in Punta penia hut. Keep in mind that it can get quite crowded.
Varpu V — Google review
We visited here with my family in August, we arrived in the morning, but the parking lot was already full, so parking was difficult, we had to wait in a line for about 30 minutes to get to the cable car, which is relatively expensive, but it's worth it because it takes you up to 3300 meters very quickly. At the highest point there is a lookout and there is a possibility to go on a covered glacier, but there is no restaurant or toilet, only at the middle station. The view of the Dolomites is beautiful from the top, it wasn't that cold up there, about 12 degrees Celsius.

Fantastic view ! Came from the 🇺🇸, Michigan, to ski in Italy 🇮🇹. Beautiful scenery. Snow ❄️ conditions when we went were not the best . So some days were icy 🥶. And we also went during Christmas/new Years. A few days the lines were massive!
Huzefa K — Google review
Winter in the Summer Came here some time in June when it was almost summer. Temperature was about 26-27C on the ground. But it was close to zero C at the peak. Was kinda cool to feel the change happening within a half hour. The trip up is by a 3 stage cable car service taking us to intermediate points where we switch to the next stage. At the 2nd switch point there is a nice cafe with a wonderful view of the area. I recommend at least to have coffee or a meal here. There are souvenir shops on the level as well. At each change point, one can take pictures of the surrounding area. The view from the top is breath taking and beautiful. Clouds do sometimes block the view and all we have to do is wait for it to move away. Definitely something for your itinerary.

MOMENTANEAMENTE CHIUSI - Serrai di Sottoguda is an impressive canyon with vertical walls, bridges, and a small church that make the entry fee worth it. The beautiful nature is interrupted by a paved road, but this makes it easy to walk with young children. Visitors can take a lovely day trip to the next village and even go on a cable car up to Marmolada mountain.
Nice walk , very easy, suitable for kids. 2 km going up the trail and then the same way back. It took us 1 hour. You have one hour free parking.

If you want to take a hike from Malga Ciapel through the canyon to Sottoguda, forget about it quickly. The canyon is still impassable and you can only find out about it on their website. They are probably taking their time with repairs... You can only get to the canyon there and back from Sottoguda and definitely take your own helmet if you have one. You can only get from Malga Ciapel to Sottoguda along an unmarked route on the left side of the road and on the way you will come across a relatively dilapidated bridge, so be careful, it is not in the best condition. Pragser Wildsee, also known as Lake Braies, is a stunning alpine lake nestled in the South Tyrol region of Italy. Surrounded by majestic mountains, its turquoise-green waters create a picturesque reflection. The area offers climbing opportunities and is famous for its appearance in the Italian TV series 'Un passo dal Cielo.' Visitors can enjoy the historic hotel nearby and indulge in dining experiences while taking in the breathtaking views.
Lovely place to visit, beautiful water. Winter time is great to go to avoid large crowds, summer the lake is packed, you can best most of the crowd in the spring/summer months by going very early but shops will not be open.
Alex B — Google review
In my opinion, this is one of the top 3 landscapes to see in Italy. My partner and I walked around the lake, which is 3.8 km long. At times there were quite a lot of people, even forming small queues, but for most of the route we could walk at our own pace. Tip: if the mountain views at the starting point don’t seem that impressive, it’s better to walk around the lake clockwise rather than counterclockwise. This way, the most beautiful part of the scenery will be towards the end of the walk, and your photos will turn out better.
KOTKALLE O — Google review
Nice small lake and good views of the surrounding moutains. But in my opinion nothing out of the ordinary - its just a mountain lake and a very commercialised one. You can rent boats for 45min which will cost 55€ and parking is also 15€. The path around the lake is very crowded as well. I think there are more beautiful and especially more calm lakes in the dolomites that would be worth your time and money.
Joran B — Google review
Lago di Braies is absolutely breathtaking! The crystal-clear turquoise water surrounded by majestic mountains looks like something out of a postcard. It’s the perfect place for a peaceful walk, a boat ride, or just relaxing and taking in the view. Every angle is stunning, especially in the early morning or at sunset. The air feels so fresh and calm—it’s pure magic. A must-see spot in the Dolomites that you’ll never forget!
Patrick T — Google review
Best lake in the Dolomites in Italy and a MUST visit. It is also referred to as 'The pearl of the Dolomites'. Circular route around this magical mountain lake is a great experience for young and old because the entire hiking trail is safe and well marked. Walking distance from bus stop and car parking.

Gloomy day for us but still breathtaking views. Rented a row boat and bopped around the lake for a bit before grabbing a bite and heading out. Plan your trip accordingly, it can be crazy during the busy months. Do your research!

Taken last 11th of November 2025, very worth it. Inlove with the view, hopefully to see this beauty as well on Summer and Spring. ❤️ 💙 💜

Gorgeous turquoise lake that reminds me of lake Louise in banff Canada. Rented a row boat for 55€ that includes 2 magnets and 45 minutes of row time. It was pretty windy with a slight drizzle when we arrived at 5:30pm. Last boat is at 7pm. There was a slight wait but we didn’t wait too long to get on the lake

When I say WOW, it means a lot 😍we Passed by here 3x, and I knew it this Lake has a lot to offer. So decided to stop for a break and go for a circular loop and the views never failed me.
Floreme J — Google review
Amazing lake ... I am never tired of such beauty, as evidenced by our return to the magical Lago di Dobbiaco, or Toblacher See, in winter conditions after having visited and dined by its shores in June during the "summer" season ... the last two images in this post, video and photo, are from our June visit for comparison ! Indeed, even in winter, when the lake take its snowy, crystal-clear mantle, the 360° alpine scenery is simply enchanting. And in every season, this Dolomite lake offers different faces and always a spectacle for our astonished eyes. Indeed, this breathtakingly beautiful natural site, with its magnificent emerald reflections, Lake Dobbiaco captivates you every time you visit, and is among the most stunning landscapes to visit in the Dolomites, a picture-postcard setting you'll want to keep all to yourself, one of the five most beautiful places in this unique German-speaking region. From Cortina d'Ampezzo, this superb Dolomite lake is located on the road leading to the ultra-famous "Lago di Braies" or "Pragser Wildsee," so there's no need to make a detour. Formed by a landslide, this magnificent Dolomite lake lies within the Tre Cime Natural Park and is fed by the Rienza River, which flows below. And what's truly fabulous is enjoying this small Italian alpine lake in complete privacy, without anyone around. Far from the crowds, this Dolomite lake is incredibly peaceful and inspiring. You can even walk around it via a fun discovery trail; it's easy and accessible to everyone. And in the summer, you can even go pedal boating or boating...

Stunning winter ❄️ scenery. Very easy walk around the lake. We visited on December 27.

This place is truly a hidden gem! The photos online don’t do it justice—it’s even more stunning in person. We almost skipped it, but I’m so glad we decided to add it to our itinerary. It’s a photographer’s haven, with breathtaking views and plenty of picturesque spots. What made it even better was that it wasn’t overly crowded, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty in peace. Definitely an underrated spot that deserves more attention!
G. G — Google review
I recently stayed at this camping site and I have mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the bathrooms were impeccable, with some even having their own sink, hot water, and always stocked with toilet paper. The campsite also offered a beautiful view and is conveniently located for quick access to various areas. A supermarket is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and quiet hours were respected. I was able to find a spot without a reservation around 4-5 pm, but I would recommend arriving by 11 am for easier setup. On the downside, the tent area was overcrowded with minimal space between tents, leading to a lack of privacy. The reception staff, particularly one of the girls, had an extremely arrogant attitude. Despite paying for the car, there was a chance you may not find a spot inside to park it. It was disappointing not to have a fridge for the price of 50€ per day, including all fees. The ground was also uneven, making it challenging to set up tents properly. The showers were poorly ventilated, leading to a presence of mold and difficulty breathing with the door closed. In conclusion, while the camping site has its strengths such as excellent bathrooms and a good location, the overcrowded tent area, lack of parking, absence of a fridge, uneven ground, and poorly ventilated showers with mold make it difficult to fully recommend.

Nestled in the breathtaking Dolomites, Lake Sorapis is a hidden gem that beckons adventurers with its stunning turquoise waters and serene surroundings. This secluded lake offers various hiking trails that promise picturesque views of the surrounding peaks. A friend of mine hiked here in June 2022 and declared it her favorite trek in the region, highlighting its challenging nature that rewards hikers with unforgettable vistas. To embark on this adventure, you'll need to park along the roadside before following route 215.
Stunning looking blue lake. We did a loop trail that was a total of 10km hiking up the past and down to the lake. This pace is absolutely stunning with a Refugio nearby. There were so many people on this trail.
Vu N — Google review
Beautiful lake, it takes a couple of hours to get here, but the destination is worth it. I really recommend to go early in the morning, because during the season it is busy even on weekdays. Walking through the narrow paths with crowds of people is not pleasant. Ideally, you should start first thing in the morning around 8:00 or earlier 🤷‍♂️
Michal V — Google review
Incredibly beautiful lake! The hike is worth it so much, be wary however that there will be a lot of tourists who come about and the paths leading up to the lake are small and really not spacious, often times there are tourists clogging up the paths. Still worth the hike and the views!
Itay M — Google review
The hike is quite challenging. It took us about two and a half hours to reach the lake and the same amount of time to return. Be aware — don’t make the same mistake we did! We started our hike at 4:00 p.m., and on the way back we had to use a flashlight because it was pitch-black on the trail. The lake was mostly frozen when we got there, but that didn’t take away from its beauty — it was still absolutely stunning.
Max — Google review
Here you go — a fresh (26 August 2025) and useful review! First of all, I read a lot of reviews here and they were helpful, but to get the full picture you need to combine them. Parking: it’s going to be a nightmare if you’re planning to go in the morning. There aren’t that many spots in general. So, we decided to go at 13:30, as that’s about the time when the first hikers start coming back. And bingo — there were 3 parking spots available right away! The trail: the second problem with this hike is that it’s quite narrow and often overcrowded. But if you go around 2 pm, you’ll be much more pleased. At that time, there aren’t that many hikers heading up to the lake. You’ll only meet people on their way back, which is much easier — no one is pushing you. The last stretch: about 2 km before the lake you’ll need to brace yourself for a steep elevation. More importantly, there are a few stressful sections that can feel a bit dangerous. In my opinion, it’s manageable, but if you’re afraid of heights you might find both the way up and the way down really stressful. Weather warning: this is the most important tip — check the forecast for the day of your hike! When we started our way back, it began to rain and didn’t stop until morning. In a matter of seconds, it became very unpleasant and much more dangerous. The rocks get extremely slippery when wet. Take it slow — you’ll get down eventually, cold and soaked, but safe. P.S. The views are absolutely stunning along the way and especially at the lake. And here’s a bonus: if you start around 2 pm, there will be almost no people, so you’ll be able to take amazing pictures without anyone in the background!
Max R — Google review
We hiked the trail there and back yesterday – in total we were on the way for about 5 hours. The route is quite challenging and definitely not suitable for beginners. There are several long and steep ascents that are physically demanding. We also had our little dog with us – a Spitz – and for a dog this trail is very tough. You should carefully consider your pet’s strength and be prepared to carry them in some sections, as the path is really demanding. With a larger dog it can be just as difficult: there are very narrow passages where dogs can easily get scared of the height and start pulling from side to side, which makes it hard to manage. You might need to carry your dog for certain stretches and take breaks. Additionally, some parts of the trail are covered with sharp rocks, so it’s important to make sure your dog doesn’t hurt its paws. At the end of the tour, there is a lake in a beautiful location – definitely a nice destination, but you should realistically assess your own fitness before setting off. At the top, there is a hut where you can get something to eat. However, hot meals are only served between 12:00 and 2:30 p.m., so it’s worth starting earlier. Otherwise, you’ll only find Ritter Sport and protein bars there… Another note: We arrived at the parking lot at 12 p.m., and it was already completely full. So if you’re coming by car, you should try to get there as early as possible to secure a spot.

fab! gorgeous views and a great hike! just make sure to come back the same way you went up as we took a different route thinking it would be a circle but ended up about two hours walk from our car!
Inayah X — Google review
Amazing to see!! The lake colour is due to the finest rock particles which are suspended by the glacier waters. They go into the lake where the sunlight reflects in a specific way, causing this beautiful milky-turquoise colour. Please DO NOT touch or bathe in the water (as some people do) in order to obtain the natural ecosystem! Simply admire.. 🩵 Several options for the hike, some circuit. The trail is a combination of rocky and forest areas. Parts of it are steep, there are ladders and metal ropes at spots. Was crowded when we went, the later afternoon there was barely anyone on the way back. The rifugio (hut) lunch is from 11:30h-14:30h, cash payments only!

Amazing experience. Recommended to those who want to make the hike to arrive early in the morning (summer days) to avoid the heat... Great views... The level of difficulty depends on your goal... I've reached the cave, and for sure, it's *not* a family hike...

Beautiful scenery and insane views! One of the greatest hikes in the Dolomites. Some tips; book a parking slot the day before! We took the bus from the main parking (10 euro pr person both ways) and parking for a van was additional 20 euro for the full day. Parking for a van from the starting point is 60 euro, but needs to be booked in advance. The trails are easy and durable for most people, kids and olders. Depending on the route it’s very accessible. We took a round trip wich was around 4 hours but spent the full day there in the sun ☀️

I finally made it! Hiking here was absolutely incredible. I came in early October 2025, and the snow had already started, which made the trek quite challenging in some spots. But the view I saw was truly superb and stunningly beautiful.
Tongz N — Google review
My experience was good. The views were incredible — the road going up was steep, tricky for a Fiat hybrid. The top of the mountain looked at like the end of a stage of the Tour de France.
Matt W — Google review
I’ve heard that the hike is incredible if you have the stamina to go all the way to the end. However, if you only plan to walk a kilometer or two and then turn back, it’s not worth it. Instead, I recommend taking the hike from the restaurant’s lower yard to trail 117. It’s stunning and only about a 30-minute walk to the destination, where you can take photos, and about 25 minutes back.
KOTKALLE O — Google review
A great walk that is so easy you can enjoy it even with smaller children. There are huts with refreshments along the way, so you don't have to carry so much in your backpack 💪 The views are spectacular and the great thing is that the trek is a circuit around Tre Cime, so you don't go the same way 😉 I recommend booking parking in advance. This way you can take your car to the start of the hiking trail 🤞
Michal V — Google review
Absolutely crowded, but absolutely beautiful. I did the 101/105 circuit, some sections are very steep, but nothing was technically challenging. No climbing, no ropes. Paths are wide enough so 2-4 people can walk next to each other. No issues with 2-sided traffic

Dams
Vajont Dam, located in the Friulian Dolomite National Park, is a haunting reminder of the tragic events that unfolded in 1963. The dam offers visits to its crown and features a visitor center with exhibits detailing the Mount Toc landslide disaster. Adjacent to the dam is a famous climbing wall that was established in 1978, providing an opportunity to witness Mauro Corona, one of the pioneering climbers who explored these cliffs.
I have visited Vajont 3 times and have told many many people about this very sad place and what happened there. I still can't believe the tragedy that occurred and so many people losing their lives, it's incomprehensible that so much earth was displaced and now sits there towering above the dam wall.
Joseph A — Google review
One of those places you must visit but then make you sad to think of the magnitude of the tragedy that occurred. Guided tours are arranged within reasonable intervals. We visited on a Saturday so parking was hard as expected but we got a spot not far away.
Aileen K — Google review
Interesting to see what has happened here, only downside is that it's only accessible with a paid guided tour.
Nick D — Google review
The Vajont Dam is an impressive feat of engineering, but it is also infamous for the disaster that occurred here in 1963. It is definitely worth a visit, as the atmosphere will certainly affect you, and it is clear that the locals still bear the memory of this event with them. To go directly to the top of the dam, you need to purchase a ticket for a guided tour. Unfortunately, most of the tour takes place outside the dam, at a viewpoint in the shadow of a small church. The adjacent paid car park is not very large, but there are other car parks within walking distance a little further into the mountains. There are no toilets here.
Ondřej P — Google review
Our visit to the Vajont Dam in Italy was a mixed experience. While we were unable to walk on the dam itself, as it seemed to be reserved for pre-announced visits only, we did find access to the bottom of the dam. Taking a walk in this area offered a unique perspective and allowed us to appreciate the grandeur of the structure. However, it's impossible to separate the Vajont Dam from its tragic history. The dam is forever linked to the devastating landslide and subsequent flooding in 1963, which resulted in significant loss of life and property. This somber history casts a shadow over the site, serving as a reminder of the profound impact of that tragic event. Our visit was a mix of awe at the engineering feat and a reflection on the profound sorrow associated with this place.
Wioleta D — Google review
A lesser-known landmark in a fairly remote valley, but well worth the visit. The dam was built in the 60s and caused a major catastrophe, but it still stands. You can walk right up to the dam from the rear side, and you can walk on top of it, but only if you join a guided tour. Though the tour is nice, it's only available in Italian, but even if you don't speak the language, you can still enjoy the stroll over the dam and the amazing views from it
Luka Z — Google review
A reminder of the respect needed for the power and sometimes cruel beauty of nature. Definitely worth a visit if travelling through the Dolomites. This was the site of a terrible tragedy in 1963 when a massive landslide in the night from the slopes of Monte Toc above displaced millions of litres of water over the dam, drowning 1910 people (Including any children) in the village below. The dam is now disused and the site of a number of moving monuments and memorials to those who lost their lives.

It is a beautiful place to see, but with sad history. Even though it is a good example of how unpredictable nature can be. Let's these kind of place only learn us!

Fontana Delle Tette

Fountain
Sights & Landmarks
Fontana Delle Tette is a famous stone fountain featuring water spouting from a statue of a bare female torso. Originally dating back to 1559, the fountain was known for pouring white wine from one breast and red wine from the other during the Venetian rule, allowing citizens to drink free of charge for three days on the occasion of each new Podesta designation. Today, a reconstruction can be found in a hidden courtyard inside Palazzo Zignoli.
The Fontana delle Tette, located in Treviso, is an ancient sculpted fountain that has a curious history. During the domination of the Republic of Venice, this fountain poured white and red wine on the occasion of particular celebrations. Its name, translated into English, means “The Fountain of Tits”. The fountain was built in 1559 on the orders of Alvise Da Ponte, mayor of Treviso, following a severe drought that hit the city and the surrounding countryside. In honor of each new Podestà ( a chief magistrate of a medieval Italian town) the fountain gushed red wine from one breast and white wine from the other. All citizens could drink for free for three days during these celebrations. The original fountain was located inside the Palazzo Pretorio, in via Calmaggiore. Today, a copy of the original sculpture is placed in the courtyard of Palazzo Zignoli, while the original is preserved under the portico of Palazzo dei Trecento. The Fountain of Tits represents a curious and fascinating piece of history, testimony to past times and unique traditions. 🍷🍇 Visited February 2024

A quiet, warm feeling spread through my chest when I looked at her, but it was almost instantly followed by a subtle prickle of shame that made me look away. The warmth was pleasant, a soft pull, but the shame was a fleeting, bitter taste, a silent reprimand for having the feeling at all. It was a brief and private tug-of-war, hidden beneath a calm exterior.

Great place to visit. You can calm down here and cool.off from the City. The water that comes from the Woman s breasts ist also drinkable.

Charming and humorous, this little corner with this iconic statue represents well how I see my beloved Italy.

Well worth a visit, as a distraction from the more conservative sights of Treviso Centro Storico. There are two benches and a plaque explaining the fountain. The plaque is only written in Italian and is quite poetic. If you use Google Lens you can get a translation. On the opposite wall from the Pinko store window is another plaque with a poem about Treviso. This is also only in Italian.

The Grand Canal in Venice is a must-see attraction, offering a unique perspective of the city. Instead of opting for an expensive gondola ride, taking the Vaporetto 1 waterbus from P.le Roma to St. Mark's Square provides an affordable and scenic alternative. The journey offers stunning views of Venice's palazzos, iconic landmarks like the Rialto Bridge and Salute church, as well as glimpses of luxurious hotels along the canal.
Mesmerising Grand Canal of Venice (Venezia) is dream land with exceptional breathtaking views. Highly recommended to take a Vaporetto ride or Gondola ride in Grand Canale. Heart line of Venice main canal splashes beauty on both shores with great restaurants and buildings.

The Grand Canal is the heart of Venice—beautiful palaces lining both sides, gondolas gliding by, and vaporettos buzzing through. Whether you take a boat ride or just admire it from the bridges, the views are absolutely unforgettable.

This waterway runs the entire length of the Lagoon of Venice! There is much traffic on the waterway: water buses, water taxis, gondolas and private boats and amazing to see how they navigate it all. I purchased a 3-Day Water Bus pass and it allowed me to enjoy the beautiful views, massive buildings, Rialto Bridge and exquisite architecture of all the other buildings along the waterway.

It was amazinggg, We loved it.We took the gondola and it was a great experience. We paid 90€ in total for three people. The price does not change depending on the number of people. It is the same whether there are five people. The 30 minute gondola ride is priced at 90€.Definitely take a walk around the back streets, this is essential to understand the spirit of Venice. And definitely eat at more local establishments, it's cheaper and more original.

Obviously a world famous place to go, wonderful, must go there, loved it. Enjoyed a lot, an outstanding experience.

Line 1 of the vaporetto is Venice’s best show. If you’re lucky enough to get the seats beside the pilot cabin, you feel the city open up: the thrum of the engines, the vibration of the deck plates, the water slapping the hull, and palazzi lit like stage sets as you glide past. Rialto was once the world’s trading floor, where goods from East and West were landed — and you sense that weight of history even now, slipping under its arch by night. A vaporetto ride is Venice’s greatest souvenir: not bought, but lived.

Ponte di Rialto, also known as the Rialto Bridge, is a stunning 16th-century stone footbridge that spans the Grand Canal in Venice. It is the oldest of the four bridges crossing the canal and was once the only way to cross from one bank to the other. Designed by architect Antonio da Ponte, it features a single arch to minimize interference with shipping traffic.
I’ve been to Venice twice. It’s best to go early in the morning when the crowds are still light – you’ll have more space and the scenery is perfect for photos. The canal water can be clear in some areas and less so in others, but the buildings and bridges built along the waterways are absolutely stunning

This bridge is really beautiful. It offers a nice view around, being quite high and is amazing both day and night. On the downside, it’s crazy crowded and you may need to wait your turn just to take a picture.

The Ponte di Rialto in Venice is one of the most beautiful bridges I’ve ever seen. The combination of the gondolas gliding along the Grand Canal and the bridge’s elegant architecture creates one of the most breathtaking views in all of Venice. It truly feels magical. I highly recommend visiting it!
Murillo P — Google review
Fantastic views from either side of the bridge make this bridge well worth a visit. The earlier in the day you can manage the better as it is still crowded in the winter months. However the views are worthwhile and the photo opportunities are excellent.

Visited the Rialto Bridge while in Venice, very easy to get to and visible from different places and also from the water. Lots of shops on each side of the bridge, and lots of gift stalls at each end. A beautiful structure that is equally beautiful in daylight as it is after dark. A must see if in venice
George F — Google review
It’s a bridge — but a very beautiful one! The Ponte di Rialto is a great spot to take pictures and enjoy views of the Grand Canal. It’s usually busy, but the atmosphere is amazing. Definitely worth a quick stop when exploring Venice.
Dennis D — Google review
Loved staying nearby this beautiful bridge. Definitely a highlight to see it at all times of day, with the shops, the joy of everyone else experiencing the iconic moment and even the tension of all the boats and ferries doing the everyday life and business in the canal around it. There is a great local grocery store just down the canal. We didn’t end up eating in any of the restaurants right there as we found wonderful trattoria away from the crowds. Loved finding new views of it and from it.
Randy H — Google review
An amazing experience. The Rialto bridge is definitely a must-see bridge while in Venice. It gets busy during the day as all tourists know this is a must-visit destination. We came here in October 2025 and there was still a lot of visitors but it is at the end of the season. There are restaurants where you can sit and enjoy cocktails and people-watch. The waterways are very busy so there's always something going on.

Piazza San Marco, also known as St. Mark's Square, is a historic and iconic gathering place in Venice that dates back to the 12th century. It is dominated by the impressive St. Mark's Basilica and surrounded by significant landmarks such as the Doge's Palace and the National Library of St Mark's. The square has been at the heart of religious belief and political authority in Venice throughout history.
Visiting the tower is truly an immersive experience for the entire family, offering both excitement and wonder from the moment you arrive. As you step onto the grounds, you are greeted by the charm and history of Venice, which immediately sets the tone for an unforgettable adventure. The architectural details of the tower are fascinating to observe up close, from the intricate stonework to the weathered textures that tell stories of centuries past. Exploring the area around the tower allows families to soak in the atmosphere and appreciate the cultural significance of the site, making it much more than just a tourist stop. The highlight of the visit, however, is unquestionably the breathtaking view from the top of the tower. Once you ascend, whether by stairs or elevator, you are rewarded with a panoramic spectacle that stretches across the entire city of Venice. The red-tiled rooftops shimmer in the sunlight, and the winding canals create a mesmerizing pattern that seems to weave the city together like a delicate piece of art. Looking out toward the harbor, you can see ships and gondolas gliding through the water, adding energy and life to the serene horizon. On a clear day, the distant islands and the sparkling Adriatic Sea come into view, providing a scene that feels almost dreamlike. What makes this experience particularly special for families is the way it blends learning and leisure. Children and adults alike can marvel at the geography of the city, while also appreciating the beauty of the Venetian skyline. It is an opportunity to create lasting memories, capture stunning photographs, and gain a new perspective on one of the world’s most enchanting destinations. The visit leaves a lasting impression, making it a must-see highlight in Venice for travelers of all ages.

Beautiful location. Choose the time of year you go as it can become very busy indeed. The streets of Venice are many and varied with many bridges and not a car to be seen. The waterways are busy too, bustling with boats which is entertaining to watch. Easy access by foot straight from the train station. Most definitely worth a visit but go armed with 'maps' on your phone so you don't get lost.

Such a lovely place to visit, the buildings are stunning. Very busy with a great feel and atmosphere. Very easy to get too, with lots of gift shops and stalls very close by, and also ferrry rides and gondola rides on the waterfont. A wonderfully beautiful place to be. Very hapy to have visited here

In my opinion, Piazza San Marco is one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The entire place feels almost magical — the canals, the buildings, the bell tower, the palace, and the clock all add a unique touch of grandeur and splendor. This square was one of the main reasons I visited Venice, and it truly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend experiencing its charm in person.

Piazza San Marco is absolutely stunning — truly the heart of Venice! The architecture is breathtaking, with St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and the Campanile all surrounding the square. There’s something magical about just standing there, listening to the music from the cafés, and watching the world go by. It can get crowded, but it’s 100% worth visiting. Try coming early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s quieter — the atmosphere is unforgettable. A must-see for anyone visiting Venice

St Mark's Campanile is an impressive 16th-century cathedral tower located in Piazza San Marco, Venice. It offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding area. Visitors can take an elevator to the top and enjoy panoramic vistas of Piazza San Marco, the Doges Palace, St. Mark's Basilica, and the Venetian Lagoon. The tower provides a convenient way to experience stunning aerial views without having to climb stairs.
It’s €15 per person, but it’s really WORTH IT!! You have an over view of the whole city and islands of Venice. You choose every half hour for the climb up time, but it’s not that strict. You can come up during sunset hours - personally I think it’s very beautiful. It’s elevator only so you don’t need to climb up the bell tower. Also, during sometime the bells will ring very loudly - be aware.
Erdun A — Google review
A visit here is €15, somehow steeper than visiting the actual basilica over the square, but I think it was worth it. You get a quick lift ride to the top of the tower and then obviously the views across the city. It was a bit rainy when we went but this didn’t ruin the experience. We did expect some kind of joined up ticket system for St. Mark’s Square; I think it would be good to be able to buy a linked ticket for the basilica, campanile and palace. Similar to the Doge’s Palace, the online ticket system was hard to navigate but it worked in the end.
Ollie F — Google review
It’s really nice being able to see so much of Venice from the top of the bell tower— the views are definitely a highlight and really beautiful. We paid €40 to go up, which felt a bit pricey, but overall the experience was still worth it. It was raining the day we visited, yet we still enjoyed the panoramic views over the city. A memorable stop in Venice!
Dennis D — Google review
You can now only purchase tickets for the bell tower online. There is a QR code to scan by the main entrance or visit their official website in advance. There is only one official ticket office for bell tower tickets and so you want the website with basilicasanmarco.skiperformance in the web address. I also highly recommend you do this in advance as it took us 45 minutes trying to do this there and then & the website kept crashing or took an age to buffer on account of the number of people trying to do the same thing in the same location. When we moved away from the area the website loaded more easily. They are the best views of Venice for sure and cost €15 per adult with cheaper prices for children.
Mark W — Google review
The ticket system can be a little overwhelming, but once you get them, you will wait some time in queue for the lift. We had tickets for 18:00 - 18:30, the sunset was at 18:08 and we entered queue around 17:57 and got up after 18:14, the sun was already set but still was beautiful. The views you get up There is like nothing else provided in Venezia. You can see almost all of it, if you are here i definitely recomend giving these views a go.
Jiri S — Google review
Definitely worth to visit the tower. Great view from the top for every side of Venice. The lift takes you up and then down again. Recommend to buy tickets in advance as it might be busy. Also entrance might be flooded during high tide so be prepared with shoes covers.
Elghato E — Google review
The Campanile is the main landmark in Piazza San Marco and a must-do visit in Venice! The ascent is super easy, done entirely by elevator, and you only pay the entrance ticket (no extra fees for the elevator). The experience is a pure lookout point: there are no rooms or exhibitions up there, but the reward is the most spectacular 360-degree view of the city. *** Tip: Go up in the afternoon! Often, the morning fog covers the tower and can hinder the view. In the afternoon, visibility is usually perfect, offering the best perspective.
Bia&Pedro — Google review
This allows you to have a look around Venice from above. You reach the top of the Campanile with an elevator and once on the top you can move around (literally) the balcony (closed with a metal net for security reasons. You are able to spot the points of interest all around and there’s a map in front of every “window” to help you understand what you’re looking at. The visit can really take 30 minutes if you’re not wishing to spend much time looking at the view. You will likely need to queue for the elevator both up and down, even if you have a timed ticket. Talking of which, it would be much better to buy that in advance to select the slot which suits you best. You can do so directly on the official website, where you have to create an account. You will receive digital tickets, no need to print. You don’t need a guide for this tour, as it is literally just a sightseeing.

Sights & Landmarks
Saint Mark's Basilica, also known as Basilica di San Marco, is a renowned cathedral in Venice and one of the most recognizable churches globally. Originally the Doge's private chapel, it boasts Byzantine art treasures brought back by Venetian ships after the fall of Constantinople. The facade features gold-backed mosaic pictures hinting at the stunning mosaic artistry inside, covering 4,240 square meters of domes and walls.
Not to be missed place to visit in Venice. Beautiful interior with mosaics showing Jesus and saints in the Byzantine style. If you want to visit to pray or be quiet, go to the side entrance and go in there. Otherwise, you can buy a time slot ticket in advance so you go straight in at the designated time. You can also buy an additional tickets for the museum with the bronze horses and to see the golden jewelled altarpiece, both I would recommend doing. Allow at least 2 hours to go round and see it all and take it in and not rush.

St. Mark’s Basilica is one of the most breathtaking and iconic landmarks in Venice truly a masterpiece of architecture and history. The moment you step into Piazza San Marco and see the golden domes and intricate mosaics shining in the sunlight, it feels absolutely magical. Inside, the basilica is stunning beyond words. The golden mosaics that cover the ceilings and walls are extraordinary, telling biblical stories in incredible detail and color. The marble floors, arches, and artwork all reflect centuries of Venetian glory and devotion. Every corner feels sacred and timeless. The view from the terrace is also unforgettable you can see the whole square, the Doge’s Palace, and the sparkling lagoon beyond. It’s one of the best spots to take photos and admire the beauty of Venice from above. Visiting St. Mark’s Basilica is a must for anyone coming to Venice. It’s not just a church it’s a living piece of art and history that leaves you amazed and inspired.

Wow. First look was across the square - what a magnificent place. Loved listening to Rick Steeves podcast about the square and outside of the church. So many intricacies and unique bits. Then we were a part of a mass in the side chapel- so lovely. Came back later that day for the whole tour (again with RS!) amazing history, architecture, heaving floor & art! Did the whole deal with Pala d’oro and Loggia and glad I did. So cool to get up close to the horses, the mosaics, the view from up top. I bought tickets the same day but that saved me some waiting time.

The Saint Mark’s Basilica is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches I have ever visited. The basilica blends perfectly with the surrounding Saint Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace, creating a breathtaking historical setting. The main altar is truly a jewel—absolutely astonishing in its detail and craftsmanship. On the second floor, the four Greek horses are remarkable pieces of art and history. I highly recommend visiting this magnificent church with a guided tour to fully appreciate its rich background and hidden details.

St. Mark’s Basilica – Venice We had tickets for the basilica but mixed up the date due to the time difference coming from the U.S.—we were supposed to visit on the 3rd at 3:00 PM, and only realized that day that our reservation was actually for the 4th which is the following day. We arrived very early in the morning of the 4th when it opened. There was an event in the piazza so there was no line at all, and we explained that we had to catch a train later that afternoon. Despite the empty entryway and our situation, we were denied entry and told to return at the exact reservation time. We respect that there are rules and timed tickets exist for crowd control, but it was disappointing that there was zero flexibility, especially when the basilica was not crowded and accommodating two visitors would not have impacted operations. The basilica itself is extraordinary, and MAYBE we’ll try again next time—but travelers should know that the staff take reservation times very strictly, even when the site is relatively quiet.
David S — Google review
The Basilica di San Marco is really impressive. It offers incredible details and beautiful art. It is usually sold out for the next 2 days, so I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. On the official website you can buy it with an entry time, so you don’t have to queue outside. Once inside, you can also buy tickets for some additional areas of the Basilica, directly through a QR code that is placed right in front of the area you want to visit. If you wish to get an audio guide, you can rent one once inside, just after the access, but you will need your own earphones (which currently need a mini jack to be connected to the device), if you don’t have it, you can still hear it placing the device on your ear. This is available in several languages and it will be necessary if you want to know what you’re looking at in the Basilica. Depending on how long you want to stay inside, you may be able to see it all in 30-60 minutes, differently from the Palazzo Ducale which takes much longer. Have fun!
Giovanni F — Google review
There are no words that do justice to describing this Basilica. It dazzles you with something spectacular, then trumps itself with the next tings. From the greatest marble floors in the world to arguably the greatest golden Byzantine wall and ceiling mosaics in the world. The gold glimmers in the light and tells the story of the bible in the vivid detail that the height of Byzantine art manages better than anyone else. Do not miss the Pala d’oro, a golden altarpiece that is worth every penny. Do not miss the museum, whose collection is better than most national collections. Not least because the famous four horses from the Hippdrome in Constantinople are there. The greatest piece of ancient art in the world still with us. They mesmerise. They look and feel real. Then there is the views of the square from the balcony…
Michael O — Google review
St. Mark’s Basilica is regarded as the most important landmark in Venice. It is located at the heart of Piazza San Marco, adjacent to the Doge’s Palace, and serves as one of the finest examples of medieval ecclesiastical architecture in Europe. The first church on this site was constructed between 829 and 836 AD to house the relics of St. Mark the Evangelist, whose remains were taken from Alexandria, Egypt, and brought to Venice in the 9th century. The present structure, replacing the earlier church, was built between 1063 and 1094. The basilica reflects a fascinating blend of Byzantine, Romanesque, and Gothic architectural styles. Its domes, mosaics, marble decorations, and opulent interior are strongly reminiscent of Hagia Sophia and other Byzantine churches, underlining the cultural and artistic exchange between East and West. In addition to its religious role as a reliquary for St. Mark’s remains, the basilica also became a repository for treasures acquired during the Crusades. Following the Fourth Crusade and the Latin sack of Constantinople in 1204, numerous artworks and relics were brought to Venice and placed in St. Mark’s Basilica. Among the most famous of these are the four bronze horses originally from the Hippodrome of Constantinople, the Portrait of the Four Tetrarchs, and fragments such as the head of a statue of Emperor Justinian. These artifacts highlight the basilica’s historical role not only as a religious center but also as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power. The Crusades themselves were military campaigns organized initially to defend Byzantine territories and reclaim the Holy Land following the advance of Turkish and Islamic powers. The Seljuk Empire, the Ottoman beyliks that later formed the Ottoman Empire, and the Ayyubid Sultanate were among the key states against which the Crusades were directed. On the Christian side, the Byzantine Empire, the Papal States, the Republic of Venice, the Republic of Genoa, the Kingdom of Naples, as well as monarchies such as France and England, played significant roles in these campaigns.

The Doge's Palace, also known as Palazzo Ducale, is a stunning Gothic building located in Venice on St. Mark's Square. It served as the residence of the rulers and housed the parliament, secret affairs of the Inquisition, and even imprisoned criminals. The palace boasts chiseled colonnades, Gothic arches, and crenellated walls that give it an exquisite and sophisticated appearance in this city on water.
This place was extremely extraordinary and was a pleasure exploring the palace. I would really recommend that you buy tickets beforehand and the earlier the better. You will definitely need 2+ hours to explore this palace especially if your into art and history. I loved every bit of it. The cafe was also nice and the prices were reasonable. It’s definitely a must go if you’re in Venice!

This palace is beautiful and full of history and artwork. I recommend buying tickets ahead of time and giving yourself at least two hours to explore. I recommend getting a tour guide to learn more about the history of the palace. The café was also nice and not too expensive. It’s a must see when in Venice.

The Doge’s Palace in Venice is one of the city’s true highlights. The architecture is stunning, and the frescoes that adorn the walls are absolutely breathtaking — a masterpiece of art that can only be rivaled by those in the Vatican. The entire building exudes history and power, making it easy to imagine the grandeur of Venice’s past. I highly recommend visiting this remarkable landmark.

You have to get tickets online so you'll save time, not waiting to buy tickets. This palace is gorgeous, you will need more than an hour to see everything. This place is huge, there is a lot of photos opportunity. They have a impressive selection of fancy rooms. The ceiling is full of art, with golden details. Take time to learn about the history of this place. They have tour guides here as well, in case you want to learn more in detail. Give yourself about 2 hours here.

A must-see in Venice! The Doge’s Palace is absolutely breathtaking — filled with history, incredible art, and ornate architecture that captures the essence of Venice’s power and beauty. We visited around 5 PM, and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it even more enjoyable to explore at our own pace. Highly recommend booking tickets in advance to skip any lines and ensure your preferred time. Walking across the Bridge of Sighs and seeing the view from both sides was unforgettable. Truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Book ahead of time and the queue isn't TOTALLY awful. Impressive selection of fancy rooms with big paintings in them. Have fun spotting which doge looks the most like Santa! Surprised the gift shop doesn't do Doge Top Trumps, this would sell (if palazzo ducale are listening). Also top tip: at some point in the tour you get to the prison cells and you have the option to take the short route or the 'complete tour'. The complete tour is just LOTS MORE PRISON CELLS. Only take if you really enjoy empty stone rooms and stairs!
Ian G — Google review
We booked a tour via get your guide (crown tours). The tour guide we had was passionate and her English was really easy to understand. We learnt so much. We chose the balcony tour and that was excellent and not too crowded. Got so much more out of your than I expected. Be warned plan to get there earlier than your time slot, I saw a couple who were late and missed there toyr and as other tours were full could not join the next one.
Jo B — Google review
Oh my gracious what an incredible palace!! 686 years old. Do a tour! We did with skip the line passes. Hearing the history is needed to understand the meaning of so much of this palace. It is ginormous. I could walk around and stare at all the artwork and art, the exhibits, the prisons! Crazy to think prisoners as recently as 1920 were still being held here. The sheer wealth ugh

SEA LIFE Lido di Jesolo is a delightful destination for families looking to explore the wonders of marine life. Nestled in a vibrant tourist town near Venice, this modern aquarium features an array of fascinating sea creatures and interactive exhibits that are sure to captivate visitors of all ages. While it may be smaller than some other aquariums, its charm lies in the intimate experience it offers. Families can enjoy play areas and group packages, making it an ideal spot for kids to learn while having fun.
Great for visiting with family. But don't take trolley/pushchair, you will have to leave it outside unattended. Also, another lifehack, buy tickets from bus station, thy are cheaper there.

Nice place. beautiful aquarium, but small and small fishes. Good for kids. After pay you can go away and return back in one day. Free parking in front of sea life and underground.
Milan P — Google review
First problem was parking as it was after the rain and the shopping place was overcrowded. Took about 30 minutes. Se spend another 30 mins in queue cause you need to print online tickets. On site, they provide family tickets which you cannot buy online. The place inside is nice, but not with tons of people so you cannot even move. Add another star if you are here (almost) alone.
Štěpán C — Google review
I do not really recommend the aquarium for an adult couple. In my opinion it isn't worth the money because it is quite small and you will be at the end after 20 minutes if you don't sit down and take some time to watch the fishes or read the boards. The space for the audience during the feeding show is not big enough. Anyway you get some interesting information and with kids you can probably spent a great time in here.
Desirée N — Google review
Good place to see with kids. Not very big, so could be cheaper. Our kids enjoyed the visit a lot, especially the quiz.
Anna C — Google review
Really nice place to spend an hour or two. There’s a good variety of fish and a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and I even saw some of them explaining different exhibits to other visitors. It has free parking if you’re traveling by car but it’s also conveniently located if you’re staying in the area. Everyone really enjoyed our time there. The main drawback was not being able to use a stroller inside. I understand why but it’s a bit of an inconvenience for families. They offered us a sling but my daughter was just over the weight limit. Just something to keep in mind for families with young children. It’s also a bit on the pricey side (unless you find a deal online) when you compare it to other Sealife aquariums (or other aquariums for that matter) for what’s there. However, it’s kinda to be expected and I wasn’t disappointed on our visit.

Nice place to change atmosphere on the holidays. Sharks, fish, meduze sea horses are good to see close to you. It is a bit smaller than in Budapest.

Villa Manin is a grand 17th-century estate that once served as a military headquarters for Napoleon and now welcomes visitors for guided tours. Located near Codroipo in the plains bordering Pordenone province, it is Friuli's largest palazzo. The nearby Aquileia, an ancient Roman city with a basilica adorned with intricate mosaics, adds to the historical richness of the area.
Villa Manin is an absolutely stunning place to visit! The architecture is breathtaking, and the park surrounding it is especially beautiful in spring, with vibrant flowers and colors everywhere. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll. During my visit, there was a fantastic exhibition showcasing Vespa and Lambretta motors, which was a great touch for vintage scooter enthusiasts. But for me, the highlight was the VR experience that took me back in time to see how the gardens looked in the 1700s—it was truly incredible! If you visit, make sure to try it. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful palace hidden in local area. Visit after lunch in San Daniele for world famous prosciutto. Restore nicely and taking very good care of. Beautiful ceilings and wood doors. The only down side is almost everything in Italian although I tried with audio scripts in English there is much less information than my husband gets in Italian and also some of them are no description as well even in Italian. I was very curious to an object in church, which contain looks like born or something. My husband is from local and he said he never see inside when he was small. So hope to get more attention from people and they can keep it for future. All the staff are very nice and helpful.

A gem worth visiting when in FVG. Villa is “empty” of any original furniture, but hosta many exhibitions. It is free to visit the outside premises and the park behind the villa, where you can find serenity.

I already been here for two concerts. It is amazing, very intimate vibe. Entering a concert here is as easy as it gets. Before you know it, you are already in front of the stage. Be aware, parking can be a bit chaotic, so if you are not from around, I recommend you paying for parking (15 eur approx). I recommend booking parking 5, as getting to it is a lot less chaotic than 3 and 4. Still be there on time, you never know. From any parking, you will have a good 15/20 mins walk to the venue, so allow yourself time. From parking 5, the walk is very nice. Locals place small bier gardens on their gardens so you can have a stop before or after the concert You walk in slowly into the villa and right before you know it, you are there with you fav artist. Enjoy it

After a presentation of the property which seemed to us without too much interest (yes or no 15') we asked for a couple of minutes to talk to each other, just in time to see another couple arrive and there we were dismissed with a " in case we talk, I have to go and welcome the other couple." Not even 20 minutes had passed since our arrival. He didn't ask if we wanted to make the offer (even though he knew it), he didn't ask if we had any other properties to sell (which we both do), he didn't even ask if we needed the mortgage. Terrible experience, 0 customer attention, 0 professionalism. Agency not recommended. (Original) Io ed il mio compagno abbiamo prenotato la visita di una villetta singola. This zoo impressed me so, so much. There are a wide variety of animals to see with information posted about each one. The animals are well taken care of. I loved being able to feed the goats for €0.50. They have animal stamps posted up throughout the zoo as well. The gift shop was cute and I loved the bags they had for sale. Overall, this was an incredible experience and I can’t wait to come back.

This zoo is a great place to spend the day and offers a wide variety of animals to see, including capybaras, giraffes, tigers, pumas, and lions. The enclosures are nicely designed, and it’s clear that the animals are well cared for. The layout is easy to follow, so walking around is simple and enjoyable. One of the nice touches is the small bar where you can grab a cold drink or a snack like a sandwich perfect if you need a break. You can also bring your own food and enjoy it at one of the picnic tables, which is really convenient. Overall, it’s a fun and relaxing place to visit, whether you're going with friends, family, or just looking to enjoy a few hours surrounded by animals and nature. Highly recommended if you're looking for a well-kept zoo with a good atmosphere.

Very clean, beautiful zoo. We were in the park for 5 hours. The only downside is no free water fountains (or at least not that we're aware), we paid 80 cent for a liter at a refill station. Other than that animals were out and about and we saw 90% of them very clearly, even the famous snow leopard.
Iva J — Google review
Small but nice zoo with quite many spieces on small territory. Some animals were hidden. Clean toilets, many opportunities to have a rest a many places for children. Nice time to spend when weather doesnt allow visiting the beach.

Well organised park, easy to get around, clean. It's accessible also for strollers and for people in wheelchair. It was thought through. Lots of trees that offer shade and 2 pretty big playgrounds for kids. Animals are well taken care of. The bathrooms are all clean, changing table for babies is also available. The parking is free 100m from the entrance. We enjoyed our day,it was during the week so we were almost alone. The only negative thing is the entrance fee. I believe it really is too expensive. We will come back because it's a great experience and well spent day..

Spanning an impressive 35,000 square meters, this aquatic paradise features a diverse array of attractions including pools of various shapes and sizes, thrilling slides like the black hole and kamikaze, as well as relaxing whirlpools and artificial wave pools.
Fantastic variety of different slides. U do have to b patient and queue up for slides in high season but we went in early July and hardly had to queue at all. A gr8 day out.

I gave it 3 stars as the kids enjoyed it. But I wouldn’t leave more than one star. The place is pricey, for the offering, rude employees and I suggest to come prepared with picnic blankets, snacks and water. What annoyed me very much is that the Wave Pool is turned on only once a day at 4 pm, which is very strange, everywhere we’ve been it was on every 15 to 30 min. Anyway, I wouldn’t go back there.
Alexa — Google review
In comparison with other aqua parks in other countries this one is not good enough. 30 euro a day, but there is nothing to do in 2 hours. Boring, overcrowded, overpriced.

Very important. After 14.00 it's 24 euro instead 30, which is not up to the mark.. but 4 o'clock there was pool party, that was the best part.
Sam L — Google review
Very bad Customer Service. We (7 people) went in the afternoon at 2:45 pm as 4 hrs are more than enough to go in all attractions. However, they closed the park due to rain at 3:30 pm. We could hardly enjoy the park. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly when l asked her for a solution, perhaps giving us 3-4 passes to go on another afternoon. She simply say NO, she didn’t feel empathy nor gave us a solution. I believe she could have warned us about the closing of the park when we arrived at 2:45 pm. We go every year but we will think twice to go again.
Angela R — Google review
Fun place, lots of slides & attractions, enough to stay all day. Good choice of stuff to do from 6-7yr old up. Bit pricey though (€108 for a family), and could do with a few more trees for shade & a bigger central pool area. Well-organised & run. Didn't get food there as it looked like standard overpriced themepark-type fare.
Christopher T — Google review

What an incredible learning experience! When most people back home think of World War 1 or 2, you hardly ever think of the impact on Slovenia or Croatia. Even if you are not a historian or history buff, it's definitely worth visiting to get a humbling perspective on war and its devastation on people and cultures.

Fascinating and well-presented museum. Also, the lady on the desk gave us a brilliant, impromptu history of Kobarid, its people and the rest of Slovenia through the 20th century, incorporating details from her own family. We're really glad we went and highly recommend it.

One of the most beautiful museums dedicated to World War I. Every part of the museum is translated into 4 languages, Italian English German and Slovenian. There are also guides explaining all the different sections of the museum. It is really worth a visit.

Nestled in a moss-covered limestone chamber, the Kozjak Waterfall is a stunning 15-meter cascade that flows into a turquoise pool. The surrounding area offers a rich historical and natural experience, with attractions like military cemeteries, chapels, and the fortress Kluze. Visitors can explore the Walk of Peace, which showcases cultural heritage and natural beauty through marked trails and information boards.
It's about a 30 to 45-minute walk from the parking area to the waterfall. Along the way, you'll also pass a wooden suspension bridge over the river — a scenic highlight of the route.
Yogesh B — Google review
Incredible natural beauty! The bridge over the water was breathtaking. Hike was fairly easy to do with kids. We also enjoyed the little drink station you can donate money and take a cold beverage. They also had bee boxes which were fun since I have kept bees in the past. So that was exciting.

Very beautiful with lots of places to stop and touch the water. You can go down to the river itself but it is not an easy descent. The whole path is not accessible and it is not a very easy walk but it is very peaceful and beautiful. Entrance fee is only at the last leg of the walk.

It’s a must if you are in Slovenia! There is a huge parking lot - you have to pay via app the parking. Then you have an easy 20min walk to the waterfall that seems to be like out of this world! Truly worth the walk and drive there.
Sara S — Google review
In Kobarid there is a paid car park (the first hour is free and the rest is reasonable) you have 15 minutes to Napoleon Bridge. In pick times, you should go in early (we arrived at 10 and had no problem). Otherwise there is a huge car park (Kobarid Fall). Make sure you download the app Easy Park in advance or bring cash. The route is very nice and the waterfall costs 5e per adult. There is a family fare. The river is absolutely beautiful but the waterfall is out of this world. You can continue the route and do the long historical trail but it's a bit steep and in total 7km long. In the route you can also see the trenches and a wooden bridge. If you are coming from Ljubljana we recommend getting the highway to Nova Gorica and then the 103 and 102. This path is less curvy than other roads.
Emma G — Google review
Absolutely beautiful place and well worth the hike to it. We went to see Slovenia’s largest waterfall the day before (Slap Boka) but it’s such a disappointment (when there isn’t much water) compared to the Slap Kozjak. The final view point is from a wooden area, all well done. Some steps might be a bit wet but there’s usually a metal line to hold onto. There’s an entrance fee of 5 Euro which is well spent.
Andreas W — Google review
Nice experience. The official parking is about 20 min away. But the trail to waterfall reveals beautiful Soča river so no boring moments. As per May 2025, the wooden bridge was closed. But new wooden beams were already stacked near by which make me conclude that it will be reopen soon. The entrance fee is decent 5 EUR. The walk from entrance to waterfall is 5-10 min. The one issue is end of trail because the visitors need to come back the same way. The platform near the waterfall is quite small and the passage is very narrow and only 1 person can go through. In our case, a lady stopped in the passage and took pics for a long time. Would suggest to management to put signs in that spot. Other than that, great place!

Basilica
Sights & Landmarks
The Basilica of Santa Eufemia, located in the historical town of Grado, is an ancient Catholic church renowned for its ornate art. This beautiful example of Byzantine architecture dates back to the 6th century and houses valuable artworks such as mosaics, frescoes, and altarpieces. Adjacent to the Basilica is the Santa Maria delle Grazie church, both featuring impressive mosaics and frescoes.
Beautiful church, open during the day on weekdays and weekends (free admission).
Gábor B — Google review
"A visit to the basilica is an absolute must when you are in the city. Its rich history, dating back to the [e.g., 12th century], offers a profound glimpse into the region's past. The view of the basilica itself is truly impressive; its [e.g., soaring Gothic architecture/grand Baroque facade] dominates the cityscape and is breathtaking from every angle. Inside, you'll be captivated by the shimmering, intricate mosaics that adorn the entire floor, depicting [e.g., stunning biblical narratives/complex geometric patterns]. Furthermore, the collection of beautifully carved statues of saints inside adds to the profound spiritual atmosphere of the church. Allow yourself at least an hour to fully immerse yourself in its beauty and history."

I was impressed by this Basilica. By first look it doesn't looks so important and noble, but than you discover, that it has great mosaics on the whole tloris. That there are no frescoes, but you can still sees remainings of its frescoes on the walls. That there is an amazing octagonal baptisterium separated from church building. There is also a free museum with antique marble stone collection. The basilica has also treasure with in the vault. There is also famous golden altar. But at the end you can feel small and just sit down on the bench and pray with gratitude to God.

A very old church, in the historical town Grado. I recommend visiting it, if you spend some time in this beautiful town. When you attend the holy mass on sunday you can hear the wonderful chore during the mass, mainly consisting of elder Grado citizens. A pleasant experience.

Ancient church in the heart of "Old Grado". The whole area is extremely worthy of a tour. There is a "labirinth" of narrow alleys and streets that open - almost suddenly - in small squares ("Calli"). Often there are restaurants, almost hidden but valuable.

Military Memorial Redipuglia

Military cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
Military Memorial Redipuglia is a significant site in Italy, dedicated to honoring the soldiers who perished during World War I. It stands as one of the largest military memorial cemeteries, specifically commemorating those who lost their lives in the Isonzo front. The monument's monumental staircase is a poignant tribute to these fallen heroes. Visiting this somber yet impressive location offers an opportunity for reflection on the horrors of war and the immense sacrifices made by countless individuals.
A lot of blood was shed by that hero, who gave their life for a free homeland, by that anonymous hero, whose name was never known, who fought day and night, whose only reward was the freedom of their country, who knew that a medal did not make them a hero, but their dignity as a soldier and representative of their country, no matter the cost, even their own life. Thanks to the person who kindly took the time to tell us the story of those great heroes who could speak English, but if they could speak Spanish, thank you because you are another hero who represents them.

Huge and impressive memorial for all the brave men and soldiers who fought for the freedom of Italy. It’s 22 sections with stairs up to the catholic church. Each section is filled with the name of the soldiers. There’s also a museum on top, as well as restrooms. Small parking on top. A larger parking on the opposite of the the road. No entrance fee to the memorial.

Stop by and honour the boys who built the world for us. One of the saddest corners in Italy. It is one of the largest military memorial cemetery in honour of the soldiers who died in Isonzo front during the first world war. While you visit the place, I invite you to kindly imagine the horror of a war, the pain and suffering of the boys and the suffering of the family back in their homes. Do we need another war ? ... Anywhere??? Near the cemetery and on the other side of the hill, one may observe trenches and the guns and shells used during the war. Ample parking. Highly recommended. Please bring young kids and show them the horror.

The scale of this monument is highly impressive and, without using a drone, I don't think photos really do it justice. So many names listed is moving. Interesting to see that Mussolini's role in creating the monument has not been removed from history in the plaque at the top of the monument. Perhaps there could be a little more information for visitors to learn about the reasons for this monument's existence.
Edward A — Google review
Like most Americans, I'd grown up knowing little of the history of WWI on the "Italian front." My son married a woman from this area of Italy, so I've learned more about it. This memorial concerns the casualties of the WWI battles along the Isonzo River, the last of which was the almost complete destruction of the Italian army at Caporetto. Giant steps have placards with names of the dead, and at the top are tombs memorializing the 60K unknowns. For an American, imagine something at least 10x the size of the Vietnam memorial; the scale is hard to grasp. A small chapel is at the top. Nearby are exhibits, mostly pictures contributed by families of their dead sons. The pictures are haunting... faces of young men (boys really), that died more than 100 years ago. Nearby are remnants of trenches cut into the rocky soil. Hard to imagine what they endured here. Well worth a stop if you're in the area.

Duino Castle, also known as Devinski Grad, is a 14th-century clifftop castle with grand halls and well-maintained gardens offering cascades of colorful flowers. The site provides breathtaking views of the upper Mediterranean Sea, the Karst, Trieste, and Castle Miramar. Visitors can explore the castle's lavishly decorated rooms and stroll through its manicured gardens while enjoying panoramic viewpoints. Additionally, there is an opportunity to visit a World War II bunker on-site.
Beautiful castle. Amazing views of the ruins of the older castle. Amazing views from the balcony. Approx. 1.30 hour visit The ticket was 11 euros

Beautiful view on the sea, a charming location (the castle was built on cliffs) and pretty surroundings. It's not too big, we finished going through the entire thing in about 1,5h, it's worth it though! Very pretty and interesting to see for someone like me, who lives far from sea.
Vayne A — Google review
I usually don’t visit many castles because I often find them a bit boring, but Duino Castle is definitely worth it. The exterior is beautiful, with well-kept gardens and an amazing view of the sea, including the ruins of another old castle nearby. The inside is also really interesting, with a mix of classic and slightly kitschy décor that makes it fun to look at and also great for photos. Overall, a visit that feels both scenic and entertaining. (You can skip the bunker, nothing to see and a bit scary in my opinion)
Jessica P — Google review
A lovely small castle in a beautiful location. It’s not as crowded with tourists as, for example, Miramare Castle, but it’s still worth arriving at opening time if you’re looking for a calmer experience. The nearby Rilke trail is also very scenic and definitely worth a walk. On the downside, there weren’t many rooms furnished with historical artefacts, and the information boards in English were quite limited. There are also no benches in the park, which could be inconvenient for older visitors, a few resting spots would make the experience more comfortable.
Hajnalka B — Google review
Spectacular gardens and the position of the castle overlooking the sea is to die for. The castle museum collection is not fantastic, but nevertheless, it is also worth visiting. You can also visit an old ruin, which necessitates a short walk.

Tartinijev trg, also known as Tartini Square, is a charming and bustling square located in the heart of the town. The central monument is dedicated to Giuseppe Tartini, a renowned composer and violinist from the area. Surrounding the square are historic buildings such as the Church of St Peter and Tartini House, where the composer was born. Visitors can explore narrow streets typical of Istrian towns and enjoy stunning views from the nearby Church of St. George.
Absolutely loved this place. It was the cleanest town I've been to not a piece of litter anywhere, lots of history, lots of bars and places to eat. It has a lovely harbour which leads onto a square where you can sit and just watch the world go by. There is a place where you can see 3 countries from, Italy, Croatia and of course Slovenia. Highly recommend a visit

Tartini Square (Slovene: Tartinijev trg) is the largest and main town square in Piran, Slovenia. It is named after the famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini, who was born in Piran. The square is a vibrant pedestrian area, surrounded by historic buildings. It serves as a social and cultural hub of Piran, hosting concerts and events, with cafes, restaurants, and shops around its perimeter. Walls of Piran

Sights & Landmarks
The Walls of Piran are an ancient and fortified stone town wall with several notable gates, which have been renovated since the 7th century. The walls have undergone changes over time due to the city's expansion, resulting in the preservation of three different walls and seven city gates. While some areas have deteriorated, much of the original construction from between the 7th and 15th centuries remains intact.
Even though the path to the walls is a bit more challenging, the view is definitely worth it. Mostly narrow / steep stairs, not good for people with physical handicap. Good value for money. You can pay with card.
Janali X — Google review
Amazing views over the sea and the town. Cheap entry, only costs €3 per person. It is well worth the walk and the visit. There are a lot of steep steps to climb the towers but the view is great and it is a unique experience.
Viktória É — Google review
The tickets were so cheap, we had a great view of the city from the tower, a bit small for tall people such as myself but nevertheless it was great
Bálint K — Google review
Best 3 Euros spent. Not only is it interesting to explore the walls of the former fortress that protected Piran from enemies approaching it from the landslide, it also has the very best views of Piran to offer. For an obstructed view it’s best to go to almost the end of the wall and be careful on the ladders and stairs, it’s easy to hit your head !

The Walls of Piran are the defensive walls surrounding the coastal town of Piran, built in the 7th century. Some walls and towers can be accessed for a small entrance fee. It also offers the beautiful panoramic views of the coastal town and Adriatic sea.
Kevin A — Google review
The wall of the city of Piran, known as the “Piransko obzidje”, is one of the most famous symbols of this picturesque historic town on the Slovenian coast. Its history dates back from the 7th century to the early 16th century, serving as protection for the town against invasions, especially during the Ottoman incursions and the period of Venetian rule. Historical Facts and Interesting Details The first phase of fortification was built as early as the 7th century and originally enclosed only the oldest core of the town. As the city grew, the wall was extended several times – the second phase was added during the Venetian rule (late 13th century), and the third and largest in the 15th and 16th centuries due to the threat of the Ottoman Empire. The fortification included three separate sections of walls and seven town gates, most of which are still preserved today. The best-preserved part, with towers, is located on Morgoron Hill southeast of the center, offering a stunning panoramic view of the entire town of Piran, the Adriatic Sea, the Bay of Trieste, and on clear days, even Croatia and Italy. The wall is characterized by Venetian Gothic architecture, later with elements of the Renaissance style. Visiting the Piran Town Wall Today The wall is open to the public daily, usually from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (summer schedule), with last entry shortly before sunset. The view of the sunset over the sea from here is spectacular. Admission is €3 for adults, less for students, and children under 12 enter for free. Dogs are not allowed. Visitors can climb several towers, but should be prepared for narrow, sometimes uneven and steep stairs. Not suitable for individuals with significant mobility issues. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Legend of Piran and Experience There’s a local legend about the “Witch of Piran,” who was said to protect the town from enemies by conjuring up storms over the sea. Walking along the wall offers not only a journey through history but also unforgettable views and the perfect spot to photograph iconic red rooftops and the turquoise sea. Piran is considered one of the most beautiful examples of a Mediterranean historic fortified town, and its wall is among the most visited places in Slovenia – a must-see for lovers of history and photography. Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Istria, Aquapark Istralandia is a vibrant waterpark that promises endless fun for visitors of all ages. With its impressive array of attractions, including towering slides and a lively wave pool, it’s an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy quality time with family or friends. This award-winning park features six swimming pools and an extensive 1.6 kilometers of thrilling water slides, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
A big space for everyone! Quite big and interesting, my teenagers loved it. You can take your food and drinks with you, or order in fast food cafe.

I brought five kids over two different weekdays: one a textbook perfect hot summer day, and the other cloudy, moody, and sprinkled with morning rain - the kind that scares off more than half of the bookings. And let me tell you, my dear friends: that rainy, "don’t go" day was the best one. Fewer crowds, zero lines, no elbow fights for floaties - just pure water-slide bliss. If you’re reading this trying to decide when to go, here's your tip: go when the clouds show up. Trust me. A little drizzle never hurt anyone (you’re wet anyway), and it might just give you the best day of your vacation. Now, spoiler alert: as an overgrown, oversized, and fully aged-up kid, I may have caused a few joyful physics experiments on the slides - the kind involving mass, acceleration, viscosity, and splash radius. You don’t need a science degree to understand it, but a little imagination helps. And no, I wasn’t the only adult re-living childhood at 40 km/h in a double tube. It was glorious. The place is stacked with attractions: high-speed slides, gentle splash zones, float rivers, inflatable madness, and "non-sliding" water features for lazy retirees. There’s something for everyone - whether you're five or fifty-five. You won’t need many words once you scroll through the photos and videos here. The smiles say it all. But something else deserves the five stars: the staff and management. Even though many of them are young, seasonal, probably not trained at hospitality schools, they are genuinely kind, helpful, present, and make everything feel smooth and safe. No forced smiles. Just good people making your day better. That counts. Now - kids don’t write reviews. And if they did, they wouldn’t care about the next bit. But if you’re still reading, wondering "Is it worth it?" - stop. It absolutely is. Book it. Pray for light rain A few gentle tips for the management (from the adult who pays for the tickets): Even though the food is decent, it feels like it’s not. A little love in presentation, a friendlier ordering process, and some signage showing where other food options are (without a scavenger hunt) would go a long way. And while the kids are here for splashing, I’m here for flavor. Give us something a little special too - maybe a grill corner, a salad bar with real forks, or just one item that says: Hey adult, we see you! Still - bravo. You’ve built something joyful. We’ll be back. Possibly wetter, possibly louder, definitely happier.

We visited Istralandija on a Tuesday in September during the off season and had a wonderful time. The park is very clean and offers a wide variety of water slides. Since it was a cloudy day and not peak season, there were very few people which made the experience even better. The slides include popular types such as rocket, free fall, and the more intense ones often called back breakers, along with fun rides that use float

We visited Istralandia with our two small children (4 years old and 4 months old). Unfortunately, a neighboring sun umbrella—left unattended—was blown over by the wind and hit my wife. One of its exposed metal rods broke loose and left a mark on her leg. Immediately after it happened, we called a nearby staff member for help, but he reacted angrily and pushed the umbrella about 20 cm aside with visible frustration on his face before walking away. Because of this, we asked to speak with the manager, Danijel Lucic. Unfortunately, his response was arrogant and dismissive. He said that “he can’t control the weather” and refused to replace the dangerous umbrella. Additionally, some umbrella bases appear to be too small, making the umbrellas unstable even in light wind. We noticed this happening with several other guests’ umbrellas as well. This kind of attitude and lack of preventive safety measures is unacceptable in a family-friendly water park. Safety should always come first—especially with so many small children around. We expected more responsibility and care from the management. Sadly, we’re disappointed with how the situation was handled.

I visited a year later and I am changing to 5 stars. The food is still water park food, but new items and better quality. The park is really clean. The new grassed area is fantastic also. Bring towels and remember no cash. Excellent place to visit …………….. The water slides are great. The seating is average, lots of umbrellas that don’t work and generally not that well kept. The food is edible but best avoided. Bring a credit card as no cash can be used inside.

Jama - Grotta Baredine, located in Istria, Croatia, has been open to visitors since 1995. This karst cave offers guided tours through its 132-meter deep stalactite formations and five impressive halls. The cave is home to the human fish, a unique species endemic to the area. Visitors can also enjoy vintage tractor and pottery exhibits as well as an eatery surrounded by olive trees and a vineyard.
Nice cave to visit with all the family. The guides are really gentle and they provide a lot of interesting information about the site, also in a funny way for children too. We spent there about 2 hours. Next to the entrance there is also a good bar that serves coffee, drinks in general and sandwiches. The parking is for free, so you have to pay only for the guided tour.

Very interesting cave that goes down 60 meters. Lots of stalagmites, stalactites, columns and other mineral formed cave features. The guide was very easy to understand and funny. The highlight was the human fish (Olm/aquatic salamander) at the bottom. I was able to get some great pictures of it. There is plenty of free parking and it was easy to get to from Rovinj by car. There is also a cave museum as part of the entry and a café for food and drinks. Highly recommend.

Small, but beautiful. If you're in the area, great opportunity to take some very nice photos and see proteus in person. The girl at the cash register was wonderful, going above and beyond to orchestrate our visit (2 adults with a big dog that couldn't enter) and the formation of groups so that we can go one after the other with no waiting time nor overlap, so one person was with the dog while the other was in the cave, and neither had to wait for too long. My guide (Ana) was embodiment of patience and calm, effortlessly switching between languages and answering all the extra questions. Lighting showcases the best of mineral formations (a lamp strategically placed behind one of "elephant's ears", for example, shows a streak of red pigment within the otherwise milky white mineral). Steep and wet, not good for people on wobbly legs. Temperature inside the first 3 or 4 rooms actually a bit higher than the advertised 14°C; on a hot day it felt refreshing rather than cold. Plenty of parking under the shade of trees and large covered sitting area. Bar right next to the cave entrance, serves good coffee and real homemade lemonade.

Grotto Baredine is a cave full of stagmites and stalactites. To enter the cave you need to join a guided tour, so probably worth checking in advance for the times of tours in your preferred language. There are approximately 270 steps down into the cave as you move through each of the five chambers with your guide. The cave is pretty wide, but some of the steps/staircases are steep and wet so care should be taken. At the bottom of the cave live two olm salamanders. Worth visiting.

Great and funny guided tour, not too heavy, not exausting, especially in combination with old tractor exibition and other one, geological exibition at the same place. Super food and drink and souveneer offers, not expensive at all. Nice nature all around and some qnimals for kids too.

Nice cave. Not the biggest one but worth visiting. The queue for the tickets can be 30 mins long and then you can wait 2h before you go inside, but they give you exact time. You can visit tractor museum in the mean time.

Nice but nothing special. There should be a age restriction as small children aren't really capable of walking all the stairs up and down
