(Translated by Google) As of August 2024, restoration work is underway in the monastery. But you can walk around the territory. The temple is open and services are held. For 100 rubles you can go up to the observation deck of one of the towers. And admire Lake Nero. There is also a chapel with a spring. But the water tasted strange, like mineral water without gas. Overall a very pleasant experience (Original) Even the museum is only Russian Language, but we use Google translate to help the staffs. A woman as guide was told an exciting tale about Vanalisa Frog Princess and Price Ivan. This is a good place for children who come to Rostov for holidays. The visitors will get a coupon for a pot of tea with some garnish at Restaurant Ivan Tsarevich.

(Translated by Google) Museum "Frog Princess" This was the second trip to Rostov, which had just officially become Great. We have already visited the Rostov Kremlin, the enamel factory, and much more. Therefore, I went to the Museum of the Frog Princess not only without interest, but definitely with a certain skepticism. And it was such a surprise! An ordinary Enthusiast restored a destroyed architectural monument and placed a real frog kingdom there. It’s simply amazing, but at the time of our excursion, more than 6,500 princesses were already sitting there, croaking, singing and dancing! And the guide was interesting, the exposition was cool. You can shoot at the beauty’s heart with a bow and crush Koshchei. And eat a bagel with a fortune. A special treat for all photo and video lovers. Guys can do anything. And it's free. Pay only for the ticket for the excursion. Therefore, feel free to include a visit to this amazing kingdom in your trip.

According to Google maps, I arrived in Rostov very accurately and on time for the start of the excursion, which starts every hour. The museum opens at 10-00. The merchant's house was very beautifully restored. Bright, green in color, even on a rainy day this house can be seen from afar. The excursion is interesting for both children and adults. The duration of the tour is about 35 minutes. Payment for an adult is 150 rubles. After the excursion you can buy souvenirs, but pay in cash (this must be taken into account). Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Cathedral

Churches & Cathedrals
The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a remarkable temple with a rich historical background spanning many centuries. Its exterior exudes grandeur and magnificence, and it is hoped that the surrounding area will remain in its original state, devoid of modern additions like flower beds, in order to preserve its authenticity. However, ongoing reconstruction work within the cathedral has caused some confusion as to why it is taking so long, particularly considering its significance as part of the Golden Ring.
(Translated by Google) The Assumption Cathedral is the oldest building in the city. The temple was built in 1508-1512. on the site of its white stone predecessors of the 12th - 13th centuries. The majestic volume of the cathedral, covered with keel-shaped roofs, is crowned by a powerful five-domed dome. The internal six-pillar structure of the building on the facades is revealed by pilasters of rather large extension. Numerous decorative elements - arcature-columnar belts, horizontal panel rods, etc. — give the appearance of the temple a special plastic expressiveness. Admission is free. Here you can pay for the entrance to the belfry.

(Translated by Google) Previously, there was a wooden church on this site, which burned down in 1160. In 1161, by order of Andrei Bogolyubsky, Grand Prince of Vladimir, construction began on a white-stone building. Its vaults, due to the "incompetence of the German Kufir," collapsed in 1204. The new construction took 17 years. Another major fire occurred in 1408, destroying the vaults and dome of the cathedral. It was subsequently rebuilt in white stone. The current brick church was built between 1508 and 1512. In the 17th century, during the construction of the bishop's palace, it was rebuilt, adding a new ceremonial porch. Several more minor alterations followed. The diocese was then moved to Yaroslavl, and after the revolution, the church was closed altogether. Fortunately, however, it was not destroyed; instead, it was given to a museum. In 1991 it was returned to the believers...

The cathedral is made of brick, and the base and strongly protruding blades are made of white stone. Numerous decorative elements: arcature-columnar belts, horizontal panel rods, etc. give the appearance of the temple a special plastic expressiveness, beauty and stability to this day. The apses of the temple are decorated with columns, giving them an upward direction. The cathedral is crowned with five powerful domes on light drums. Initially the chapters were somewhat different (possibly helmet-shaped), and in the 18th century. they were replaced with the current bulbous ones, covered with a ploughshare. Gostevoy Dom "Dom Remosel" is a great place to discover and support local artisans. The handmade souvenirs offered are truly unique, avoiding the mass-produced items commonly found from overseas. Though payment can only be made in cash, the lower floor offers engaging master classes for both children and adults. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, readily sharing insights about the products and techniques used. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, making these authentic crafts accessible to all visitors.

PRICES ARE FIRE!!! We arrived in the evening, drank tea and pies (you can discuss your preferences, whether you want sweet or not, you want different ones for every taste). Then there was a short excursion about Rostov crafts and crafts in general. Very short, but interesting. Worth a listen. Then a master class. Painting of a whistle BLACK POLISHED CERAMICS. There are figurines for every taste and traditional ones in the shape of a bird and figurines of various animals (frog, seals, owls). The master is a very nice girl - attentive, polite, knows how to get along with children, she will help and advise everything, she does not rush. And then we bought souvenirs here. I read the reviews in advance, so we knew that we needed to buy souvenirs and gifts here. THE SELECTION IS HUGE, PRICES ARE MUCH LOWER THAN IN THE CITY. LITERALLY 200 METERS INTO THE CENTER AND THE PRICE SOARS UP. SO I RECOMMEND BUYING HERE. We bought magnets, vases, bells, tiles, tea, a wooden spoon, I even bought a Rostov Finift brooch here. Although we were at the Rostov Finift museum in the morning, the prices in the store there are higher!!! RESULT - A MUST VISIT!!! GUESTS ARE WELCOME HERE AND APPRECIATED!!! GREAT ATTITUDE!!! First of all, for purchasing souvenirs - there are a great variety of them here, ranging from trivial refrigerator magnets to traditional Russian clothing. Particularly valuable are the almost forgotten Russian crafts, which are supported and revived here, for example, black-polished ceramics. The owners are engaged in production themselves, and conduct excursions for visitors themselves. When visiting as part of an excursion, you will also be fed cakes and given tea. (Translated by Google) The most important aftertaste that I had after visiting was that it is incredibly calm, quiet and cozy here. A kind of leisurely pace and solidity of the Russian province described in Russian literature. There are no crowds of pilgrims, heaps of traders, bustling noise of tour guides and other attributes of "pretentious" monasteries, in which it is very difficult to find anything other than architecture in this bustle. But here it is just the opposite - everything is clear with the architecture: the current buildings are new buildings. The monastery itself was destroyed in the thirties of the twentieth century and recreated at the turn of the millennium based on surviving photographs and drawings, but, of course, without an ideal match with the original. And the main shrine of the monastery - the parents of St. Sergius - are not buried here. But paradoxically, the atmosphere of the place only benefits from this. It is amazingly beautiful here and it is easier to breathe. These feelings are difficult to convey in words, but it is worth coming here for the sake of this leisurely bright joy. Most of the religious events are held with the participation of the students of the Varnitskaya Gymnasium located here. There is a large car park. All the times I was here, there was more than enough space. I did not find a separate parking for bicycles, and in general, there may be problems with mooring a bike somewhere. On the territory of the monastery there is a bookstore with a fairly wide range of products, a small cafe with a veranda (they will not spoil you with the assortment, but the pies and pastries are quite tolerable). You cannot pay by card (you understand - legally - for quite obvious reasons - all this is formalized as donations), so prepare cash or transfers to the card. There is a free toilet. Quite clean and tidy. There are no problems with the accessible environment on the territory itself, but you will not be able to get into the temple or any building without outside help: no ramps or special paths are provided. Alas, as in the overwhelming majority of religious sites.

We took a tour of the monastery, and it was already late in the evening, but they didn’t refuse us, which was very pleasant. An educational and interesting excursion that both we and the children enjoyed. The views around the monastery, especially before sunset, are mesmerizing; inside the monastery territory is landscaped, everything around is perfectly clean and well-groomed, there are benches where you can enjoy the silence of the area. I was glad that there was no TV in the room, we finally took a break from this “box”, the Internet is weak, but when you go to such places, you need to understand why and what you want, and it was useful for the children, more live communication. On the territory of the monastery there is a cafe and a shop where you can have a snack (pies, buns, coffee, tea, kvass and mead - they all make it themselves), and also buy souvenirs. We got to the Rostov Kremlin by private transport, about 5 minutes. In general, a wonderful holiday, we will definitely come back here again for the baptism of a child (Original) Замечательное место! Nestled within the Rostovsky Hotel complex, Lukova Sloboda is a charming café that doubles as a museum-like attic filled with intriguing artifacts and delightful knick-knacks. A place where you can find many interesting and useful things, as well as all sorts of rubbish that is not needed and would be a pity to throw away. Now imagine: you will be invited to drink aromatic tea with onion buns in the attic, and they will also tell you an interesting story. A bow tied in a bun is hung on a hook. How onions appeared in Rostov the Great will be interesting for both adults and children. For those who have never been, I recommend it.

Russian Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
The Tserkov' Ioanna Predtechi, a Russian Orthodox church in Yaroslavl, Russia, is renowned for its unique architecture and is prominently featured on the 1,000-ruble note. It is recommended to take public transportation or a shared taxi to visit this beautiful monument by the Volga River. However, paying to see the interior may not be necessary as there are other old churches in Russia worth exploring.
It is one of the most beautiful monuments in town, right by the river.

(Translated by Google) A temple of rare beauty, in the style of Yaroslavl architecture of the 17th century. Its image is located on the back of the 1000 ruble banknote. 15 domes - this is the only such temple in Russia. Molded figured bricks, tiles that do not repeat each other, frescoes. The height of the temple in the central part is 45 meters, as is the height of the bell tower. Silence, splendor and grace. I highly recommend seeing this masterpiece. (Translated by Google) One of the most famous monuments of Russian architecture of the 17th century, the Yaroslavl school of architecture during its peak period. The only fifteen-domed 😮 temple in Russia, located in the southern part of the city, in the village of Tolchkovo on the banks of the Kotorosl. The history of such a majestic structure is typical of the Middle Ages - a small wooden church on a place of worship burned down and a stone temple was erected in its place The new small stone church that was built did not satisfy the high demands of the Tolchkov artisans who had become very rich at that time, and they set out to create a temple that had never been seen before in Yaroslavl, both in size and in the beauty of the internal and external decoration (Original)

(Translated by Google) Bad luck: we saved our visit to this church for last, the day we left Yaroslavl. And that's precisely when it started raining: sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier, but constantly... Naturally, in such weather, the temple was closed. The only thing left to do was stroll around, which is what we did. But you look at the photos of the temple: once again, people are waving their 1,000-ruble bills with a picture of this church... Unoriginal. Unwise. Unethical. "Pisa Syndrome" all over again...

At first, some people all over the world collected crumbs for the most beautiful and rich temple, then other people came and ruined it. And then they did everything so that the temple building began to die. Thank God the temple is alive. Restoration is underway inside. But the temple is truly unrealistically beautiful. Molded bricks, tiles. He's great! A must visit. For those interested, this particular temple is depicted on the 1000 ruble banknote. The Cultural and Educational Centre named after Valentina Tereshkova is a fascinating destination for those interested in space exploration and education. Located near Yaroslavl, this center features a planetarium where visitors can enjoy immersive sessions under a stunning dome that showcases the wonders of the solar system. The experience is particularly engaging for both adults and children, with 5D videos capturing young imaginations.
It's not as big as I thought initially, but it's pretty interesting! There's a constant exhibition with some rocket replicas and stuff astronauts use in space, and also there's an art exhibition with some neat works. The place has a small theater for watching documentaries on space, and the dome of the ceiling is used as a screen - fascinating experience. Also there's a cafeteria and a fun attraction for kids. The planetarium sets up so-called "watching nights" when it offers visitors a chance to peek at the night sky through their telescope. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!

(Translated by Google) Immediately the script. Come to the opening and there will be parking and tickets. It's better to make a reservation though. Then to the museum. And for one more session. When you go to the planetarium, you know exactly what to expect, a beautiful dome of the starry sky with a billion billion billion stars. The cafe is not very good. Shuttle 5D - DO NOT Suck! Better buy magnets. You're visiting a planetarium, so it's better to have a couple of sessions there. Luckily they are short. Sight! A must visit many times. And the museum is worthy of a separate text. Come and look, there’s a good collection there, but I didn’t see any stamps.

(Translated by Google) A very overrated place. The museum is boring and uninformative. To listen to a tour, you need a Q-code, but there's no internet connection in the building. The interactive exhibition is a disgrace to the city, the complex's director, and V. Tereshkova personally. The models are broken, outdated, and uninteresting. The staff is frankly indifferent, lazy, and lacking initiative. They even push tickets, not caring about the visitors' experience of the history and the exhibition. Perhaps when the Tereshkova Educational Center opened, it was something new, important, and motivating, but now it's a backward institution, with a children's level of education, cheap equipment, and negligent staff. Such a shame... At least fix the basic models and install an audio recording. St. Petersburg. September 21, 2025. This scientific and entertainment establishment surprises with its scale and allows visitors to learn about the many secrets of our universe, touch the origins of the existence of the world and lift the veil of a number of mysteries on a planetary scale. The planetarium building stands out for its large-scale dome, with an area of 300 square meters. m, projecting images of more than 7.5 thousand stars. Externally, the structure somewhat resembles an alien object that landed on the territory of an ancient Russian city. The planetarium got its name in honor of Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, who became the world's first female astronaut to conquer the vastness of space and the only woman to do it alone. Its main advantage is the ultra-modern Skymaster ZKP4 device, equipped in the Star Hall of the planetarium and representing the latest model equipped with the Spasegate full-dome projection system. Thanks to him, the most realistic illusion of real travel in outer space is created here. The Museum of the History of Cosmonautics, located in the planetarium building, displays exhibits dedicated to stellar and space themes. Special attention is paid to the first artificial satellites of the Earth, as well as modern spacecraft and stations. The main theme here is the exhibition dedicated to Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova and her first flight into space. In addition to visual acquaintance with space objects, planetarium guests have the opportunity to try out the role of an astronaut in the interactive Shuttle attraction, look at the sky using a telescope with 600x magnification and sit in a cafe. A special interactive planetarium classroom hosts exciting educational activities for schoolchildren. The Valentina Tereshkova Planetarium is very popular in Yaroslavl, and among visitors you can often see families with children, which indicates significant interest in the institution from different age categories. The planetarium is undoubtedly worth visiting and expanding your knowledge about the world around us, as well as getting a lot of pleasant impressions.

Great museum overall, of not for one detail. They have a live bear that they keep in a cage to "entertain" visitors. Quite barbaric. This bear apparently serves as a symbol of the city, so it should be to no surprise that the city isn't in a great condition either. If their symbol is treated in this way, not much good can come out of it.

Visitors can explore the pleasant grounds and amazing exhibits, although most explanations are not in English.
Incredible pleasant visit. If you've only time for one thing in Yaroslavl, this is the place. Pleasant grounds, amazing exhibits, although almost no explanations are in English. However, with even rudimentary understanding of Cyrillic, the non-Russian speakers can get the gist by visuals and reading dates. We visited on a winter day with lovely snow. Exhibit rooms are very warm. We spent a perhaps three hours.

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Churches & Cathedrals
Constructed in 2010 as a replication of the previous church, this cathedral presents an extravagant artistry and features a bell tower. Although not personally visited, it was spotted while strolling along the Volga and Kotorosl River, offering a delightful elevated walkway. The Church is a recent construction, replacing an older one that was demolished by the Soviets in the 1930s. The view from below reveals an immensely stunning roof design, characterized by its impeccable symmetry and magnificence.
Didn’t actually go inside, just walked past as we strolled along the Volga and Kotorosl River, which is a lovely walk high above the rivers. The Church is actually new construction, replacing an earlier church (destroyed by Soviets in 1930s).

We took a bus to explore the city, and the first stop was the local Kremlin. From a distance, you can see the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This was once the oldest church in the city, founded in 1215 by Prince Konstantin Vsevolodovich of Rostov on the territory of the Yaroslavl Kremlin (the Rubleny Gorod) and consecrated in 1219 in honor of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, becoming the main church of Yaroslavl. The first stone cathedral, built of brick with white stone carvings and majolica floors, was destroyed by fire in 1501. In 1516, a new cathedral was erected, resembling the Annunciation Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin, but it became dilapidated by the 17th century, and in 1646, a five-domed cathedral with a 55-meter-high bell tower was built, which was repeatedly damaged by fires. It was restored again, retaining its Byzantine features. In 1612, it was here that Metropolitan Kirill blessed Minin and Pozharsky on their campaign to liberate Moscow. In 1613, the young Tsar Mikhail Romanov was welcomed here. Since 1788, the cathedral has been the seat of the bishop. It is adorned with a five-tiered iconostasis and frescoes, including the miraculous Yaroslavl Icon of the Mother of God. In 1918, the church was damaged by shelling, and in 1937, it was blown up and replaced by a park. The church was restored in 2004-2010 using funds from philanthropists, and it became an exceptionally large structure: 50 meters high, 2,000 square meters in size, and capable of accommodating 4,000 people. The interior of the cathedral is still being decorated. The uniqueness of the cathedral lies in its role as a spiritual center, its connection to key historical events (the Time of Troubles and the Romanov dynasty), and the ongoing debates (and controversies) surrounding its modern appearance, which has been criticized for deviating from its original architecture. Overall, the cathedral is very impressive, as is the surrounding area. It is beautifully, solemnly, and harmoniously designed. Afterward, we explored the sculptural composition "Three Angels," followed by a large stone that is said to be 2 million years old, where you can make wishes by touching it. Temple and stone

Incredible! A festival was happening during the Christmas holidays; live performances and happy people, enjoying a beautiful winter night in Sovetskaya Plosad, with the backdrop of the Khram Il’i Proroka (Church of Elijah the Prophet) built 1647-1650. Yaroslavl, in general, is so good for walking.

The Church of St. Elijah the Prophet in Yaroslavl is an outstanding monument of 17th-century Russian architecture and painting. It was built in 1647-1650 with the funds of the wealthy merchants, the brothers Vonifatiy and Ioannikiy Skripin, descendants of Novgorodian settlers who became rich through the trade of furs and precious stones. The church was erected on the site of two wooden churches, the cold Ilyinskaya Church and the warm Pokrovskaya Church, which were mentioned in 1612 in connection with the miracle of the healing of a blind man during the procession of the icon of the Savior. The name of the church is associated with the legend of Yaroslav the Wise, who defeated a bear, the symbol of the local pagan tribes, on Elijah's Day, and founded the first Christian church in the city on this site. The church's uniqueness lies in its almost unchanged appearance since the 17th century: a five-domed quadrangle with a tent-shaped side chapel and a bell tower, surrounded by asymmetrical galleries and porches with carved white stone inserts. In 1658, the church miraculously survived a terrible city fire thanks to the metal lining of the doors and windows, which prevented the flames from entering. The church's main treasure is its fully preserved frescoes from 1680, which were created in three months by a team of 15 artists led by the Kostroma painters Guriy Nikitin and Sila Savin. The murals include 970 subject labels, including the famous "Harvest" and the cycle of the deeds of the prophet Elijah, as well as rare images inspired by Dürer's engravings.

Yaroslavskiy Khudozhestvennyy Muzey

Specialty Museums
The Yaroslavskiy Khudozhestvennyy Muzey is a satisfactory museum with an average foreign art section but an impressive selection of Russian art spanning from the 18th century to the present day. Housed in a historic building, it boasts a substantial collection of contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a pleasant sculpture garden. However, one downside is that the museum lacks accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs.
We chose a tour that includes a visit to the Art Museum. The guide, Ekaterina, is well-versed in the museum and shares interesting facts about the paintings and artists. She has the appearance of a renowned international actress and knows how to capture the attention of museum visitors. The Yaroslavl Art Museum was established in 1919 on the initiative of local artists and antique enthusiasts. Today, its collection includes over 80,000 works, including 13th-century icons, paintings, graphics, sculptures, and decorative arts. The museum is located in the UNESCO zone and includes several historical buildings, the main of which is the Governor's House, built in 1821-1823 as an imperial travel palace and the residence of the Yaroslavl governors. It features works by D. Levitsky, I. Repin, I. Aivazovsky, A. Savrasov, I. Levitan, K. Korovin, as well as works of Russian avant-garde and contemporary art. The Metropolitan Chambers, built in the 17th century, houses a collection of ancient Russian art, including unique icons from the Yaroslavl school. Every year, the museum hosts more than 20 exhibitions, classical music concerts, festivals in the Governor's Garden, and scientific conferences. In 2016, it was nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award, and in 2021, it was included in the top 50 museums worldwide.

The Museum "Music and Time" in Yaroslavl is a unique attraction featuring a diverse collection of antique musical instruments, clocks, gramophones, and more. Visitors can enjoy hands-on exhibits showcasing the impressive assortment of items curated by the late magician John Mostoslavsky. Knowledgeable guides, some fluent in English, bring the museum to life by playing many of these preserved items during tours, creating an immersive concert experience for visitors.
We've walked there by chance and never regret it! Very nice, although small, museum with a lot of bells and antique mechanical musical instruments. Excursion is a must and included into the ticket price
Vladimir B — Google review
The Music and Time Museum in Yaroslavl is a unique cultural site that combines a private collection of antiques, musical instruments, and household items. The museum was opened on November 27, 1993, and it was probably one of the first private museums in post-Soviet Russia. Its founder, John Mostoslavsky, was a renowned illusionist and collector who had been collecting exhibits for over 50 years.... Now, his family is carrying on his legacy. And this is remarkable. The exhibition includes musical instruments: gramophones, gramophones, organ grinders, harmonies, records and clocks. There is also a collection of bells - from bells to church, arranged in a chromatic scale to create melodies. Among the exhibits are antique clocks by European masters and many other interesting items. The museum is interactive: visitors can listen to the old instruments during the tour. True, the pleasure is short-lived, somewhere up to a minute on the instrument. But it gives an idea of the instrument. The girl conducts tours with knowledge, energy, interestingly, and informatively. The museum is located in the former estate of the merchant Vakhromeev on the Volga embankment, which adds to its historical flavor.

(Translated by Google) Cool interactive museum! A museum where you not only CAN touch the exhibits with your hands, but you absolutely NEED to do it! Interesting for both adults and children! We came across a wonderful, charming guide, Gleb. He explained everything in detail and in a fascinating way, involving us in the process and giving our gray matter something to think about. Attention, payment is only in cash! Maybe after the museum moved they began to accept non-cash payments, but it’s better to have cash with you. After the end of the tour, you can wander around the museum rooms as much as you like (within reason) and try to solve the puzzles. There are various science shows for children, such as the Tesla show.

My daughter is 6 years old and my son is 3 years old, both were so involved in the process of "playing" and studying the exhibits and experiments, we barely left))) There are a lot of different locations with unusual physical experiments, at first the guide tells and shows everything quite interestingly and in detail, and then comes "free" and most importantly unlimited time to touch, press, twist and do everything)) The place is very interactive, cool and fun, I definitely recommend visiting with children! Adults will be no less interested) (Original) (Translated by Google) Overall, the museum is interesting, but the tour guide... Firstly, personally, it is unpleasant for me to look at a girl with pumped-up lips, secondly, she talks very quickly and "jumps" from exhibit to exhibit, the children do not have time to listen and look. Of course, after the tour you can look at everything again yourself, but you can somehow involve the children in the process of the guide's story and interest them. We were with two children aged 6, one liked everything, the other just wandered around the hall, since the level of explanation was not at a child's level. And, it seemed to me that the children irritated the guide, like rattling off a memorized text and that's it. Personally, I would come again, look and listen more, but if the guide was different, trying to interest visitors with a story and captivate the children with physics.

Today, on January 7th, I visited the Tolga Monastery to celebrate the Nativity of Christ. This remarkable place is adorned with stunning architecture and is surrounded by a well-maintained and spacious compound filled with beautiful flora. The weather was delightful - sunny with a hint of frost in the air. One notable feature was the Cedar Grove, which was accessible for visitors to explore. The monastery holds great historical significance and houses precious icons that reflect its rich heritage.

White swans 🦢 and peacocks 🦚 live on the territory of the monastery. There is a gorgeous cedar grove where the ancient icon of the Tolga Mother of God is located. Delicious local cuisine. You can have a hearty and inexpensive lunch at the local refectory, and also buy various pastries, jam, and dairy products with you. I really liked the drink made from birch sap with orange and lemon. It refreshes and tones well, especially in the summer heat. Tolgsky Monastery is the place where you want to come again and again!

(Translated by Google) The first wall, the outer one. It turns out that this is not quite a Monastery yet... A small, cramped, but free parking lot. We parked about 200 meters from the checkpoint gates. I paid the nun sitting there, according to the posted tariff, 200 rubles for the right to take pictures on the territory, although, as it turned out, it was not necessary to do this. Immediately behind the checkpoint is the first trading area, including gardening and vegetable planting material. And a long path, about a kilometer slightly downhill through the monastery fields to the Monastery itself, which opens up very beautifully from this road. At the end of this path, a small climb to the complex of pilgrimage buildings, a passage through it; again a small trading area and... ...the second wall, the main one and the Spassky Gates, through which the bulk of pilgrims and visitors enter the Monastery (today is Sunday, there are many of both). Another one - the Holy Gates - opens to the Volga and works for tourists arriving by water. The territory is small, but very well-kept. Work on its arrangement and the temples continues. There are many people both in the temples and on the territory, but the nuns have not caught my eye the whole time. Taking photos in the temples is strictly prohibited, on the territory - as much as you like. Calls for visitors to dress appropriately for the place do not work on everyone, but no one is driven out. The third wall, the inner one, opposite the Spassky Gate. It has a gate leading to a cedar grove. The territory of the Monastery, adjacent to the Volga, is also very beautifully landscaped, however, especially the passage from the pier to the Holy Gates is squeezed on the left by the existing estate development with a blank fence along the entire path. A beautiful place. A beautiful Monastery. Must sees. Must sees.

Nestled in the picturesque Yaroslavl Oblast of Russia, Vyatskoe is a charming village steeped in history, first documented back in 1502. This quaint locale underwent a remarkable transformation in the early 2000s thanks to businessman Oleg Zharov, who revitalized it into a vibrant destination boasting ten fascinating museums. In 2014 alone, Vyatskoe attracted over 80,000 visitors eager to explore its rich cultural heritage.

(Translated by Google) A very interesting museum, like the rest of the museums in the village, but this is the main one, here are historical events and facts about this place. If you travel around the Yaroslavl region, be sure to visit Vyatskoye!

To be able to understand enything here you need a guide. There is no single translation in the meseum. It's basically cabinet of curiosities as my friend defined it. But it's nice initiative!

(Translated by Google) An interesting museum, as well as the “Music of Time” museum located on the ground floor of the same building. The exhibits in the collection provide an opportunity to admire the original thinking and enterprise of the local residents, thanks to whom the village grew and became richer. This museum is worth a visit, like all Vyatsky museums.

(Translated by Google) An interesting place, on the ground floor is the Museum of Music of Time. Very interesting, be sure to take a tour - most of the musical instruments are working. On the second floor is a museum of household items.

(Translated by Google) A very unusual museum. And probably the only one of its kind. Here, most of the exhibits work; there is a huge collection for Edison’s phonograph, as well as for the organola and many music boxes. Many thanks to Oleg Alekseevich Zharov for these museums.

(Translated by Google) This is much steeper than one would expect from a small regional center in the Yaroslavl region. It’s just a pity that my great-grandmother’s homeland, neighboring Lyubim, is in a much more deplorable state. And here is a real art gallery, great!!!
