Carlingford Adventure Centre, located in the Adventure Capital of Ireland, offers a wide range of thrilling activities across three adventure sites: LAND, SEA & SKYPARK. I went here with my school this past Tuesday, and I have to say, it was amazing. We did laser tag, paddle-boarding, and pier jumping. We were with Bree and Stephen for most of the tour and they were brilliant! So kind, patient with everybody, explained everything and were very funny! <3 I think it could have been a bit more organised but overall i would definitely recommend.

Overall amazing experience. We were nervous about just going as a family of four but we couldn't have been made felt more welcome. Laura was there every step of the way and the kids loved her, we made rockets, done archery and the netted adventure. We had such a brilliant day at Carlingford Adventure Centre, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, active, and memorable team outing! We were warmly greeted by Andrew at reception, who got us off to a great start. We chose the water activities and went kayaking with Steve, who was absolutely fantastic! He made everything easy and enjoyable, shared some local history along the way, and kept the energy high with fun games on the water. An amazing experience from start to finish—perfect for team bonding!
We went on our Mystery Tour to Carlingford Adventure Centre, and honestly, they looked after us so well from start to finish!
Andrew and Charm handled our booking and couldn’t have been more helpful — every detail was spot on. The activities were brilliant fun (and a great laugh!) with instructors who were full of energy, great craic, and really knew their stuff.
We stayed in Slieve Foy accommodation, which was lovely and perfectly located. The centre also recommended and booked PJ O’Hare’s for our first evening and Ma Bakers for our second night — both were fantastic choices!
We loved every minute of our stay and can’t thank the Carlingford Adventure Centre team enough for making it such a memorable weekend. We’ll definitely be back!
We were here for Corporate Team Bonding over two days. Day one was kayaking and it was absolutely beautiful. The scenery was good and the kayaking was for all difficulties. Loved it. Tristan was a blast, so helpful and encouraging. We had him for both days. And we did the Crystal Maze Challenge on Day two, and we have never laughed so hard. We had a blast. Team well bonded. And a great few days was had by all 🙏👏👍
I had an absolutely diabolical time at carlingford adventure center. This was mainly due to one of the workers that I believe to be called Rob. He discriminated against me and a couple of my friends due to our own personal beliefs. We also happen to be a different colour to Rob. The food was also crap and I have an upset tummy now because of it. I truly do hope that rob gets treated by his manager like he treated me. I hope he loses his job because it would have been a decent experience if Carlingford took the time to hire better workers
It's a very pleasant place for young people. My son attended the five-day camp for the second time and is very happy with it. Next year, he'll be going for the third time and is already looking forward to it. The only downside is the lack of refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, and to use the money paid, he has to change the date.
I did a team building for 9 people on high ropes for half a day. Highly enjoyed our time. Our guide for the day couldn't have been nicer and more patient with 9 women terrified of heights! Will definately be back!

Emerald Park in Ashbourne is the largest amusement park in Ireland, offering a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to a zoo with interactive petting areas, there's something for everyone. The park also features historical sites such as Kells and Mellifont Abbey, as well as the Battle of the Boyne Site.
I visited Emerald Park on a weekday while school tours were taking place. It was a sunny and beautiful day, and aside from the students, the park felt almost empty. It wasn't as crowded as I expected. Even the most popular attractions had a waiting time of just 15 to 25 minutes.
The park is genuinely impressive — it's not just for children; there’s plenty for adults to enjoy too. From the outside, some rides may seem short, but once you're on them, the adrenaline makes the experience feel much longer and more intense.
The food and drink services, seating areas, and toilets were all very well thought out and clean. The staff were also extremely helpful. I really enjoyed the zoo and playground areas. It’s great that they’ve designed separate zones: the Junior Zone for younger children and the Thrill Zone for older kids and adults.
I recommend wearing comfortable clothes with zippered pockets. If you bring a change of clothes, you can enjoy the water rides too, especially on a warm day.
The price might seem a bit high at first, but if you're not planning to skip the major attractions, it’s absolutely worth it.

We visited two weeks ago and it was definitely worth it! The staff were friendly and welcoming. There are rides for both kids and adults, which made it fun for the whole family. We also enjoyed the zoo - a nice bonus to the day.
The only downside was the long waiting time for every ride. Other than that, we had a great time and would recommend visiting.
Generally good, I'd give it 4.5 stars in fairness. October turned out to be a good time to visit, still a bit of atmosphere but fewer crowds and less queuing. Good variety of rides, and the staff were very pleasant - friendly, and helpful.
The zoo/ raptor area and petting zoo were fun and well worth the visit. Again, lovely staff.
Otherwise the rides were fun, value for money, thrilling enough and well run / maintained.
Worth a special mention - a really decent amount of Blue Badge parking in the car park well above average. More places should follow suit.
On the down side, the 5 D cinema was very disappointing. The movement of the seats was out of sync with the movie, the 3D element was all but non existent. It was the only attraction we all thought wasn't up to par.
Overall though, very good value for money including the gift shop.
Our 3 year old had the best day at Emerald park. We went on a Sunday and there wasn't any wait for the junior zone rides. Even the adult rides were only about 10-15 minutes wait.
Plenty to do and see. Great experience walking into the Lemur enclosure. Food in the restaurant was amazing, massive portions and great value.
Brilliant day out. Went with a 5 and a 2 year old, the youngest is 96cm tall and he could go on almost all of the rides in the junior zone, which has a minimum limit of 95cm. There were about 10 rides they could go on (that we found, anyway), so they were thrilled. There's also really big playgrounds for them to run around in and expend energy. We didn't really have to queue, and we could easily leave the buggy by every ride whilst we went on with the kids. There were lots of benches available to sit.down and rest when needed. The best part of the day was the Tricky Trail, there for the Halloween season - it was amazing! Lots of interaction with the staff who.couldnt have been friendlier. We'd like to go back in the summer and when they're a little older too. One thing is that the online interactive map kept freezing, so get a paper map if you can.
The park is not in county Dublin and there is not Public transport from Dublin City centre. The day that we went they were not many people as It was raining quiet a lot in the morning. So, we didn't have to wait long.
The park is divided in two main sections: zoo and attractions. The attraction area could be also divided between adults and children. There is enough attractions to spend the day.
In the zoo area, for me the star was the secretary bird. The first time I see one so close. There is a show where they showed you three raptors: secretary bird, bold eagle and falcon. It was really impressive to see these majestic birds.
Really incredible place to visit. The quality and amenities there are fantastic. It was a great day out, plenty of toilets and snack locations (important for the kids), and the food was excellent and very reasonable priced. The rides there are very good, something for everyone! Would really recommend!
I liked tayto park since I was a child, so here are some things that I love and dont love:
>The bigger rides are amazing. My personal favourites are the Endeavour and the Cú Chulainn. They make your stomachs tingle and adrenaline flow. The Cú has THE drop that me and my body will never forget, but the tracks are so loud.
>The smaller ones are mighty, eg. Flight school and Air race. They're good for the family but bring the same joy as the others.
>I miss when Tayto owned the park as they would give you free crisps after you went. But what I do appreciate about the new ownership is the addition of Tír na nÓg. I liked the Quest, the Celtic Dreamer was average at best, but Na Fianna Force was so good I went twice, even with a torn ACL. My leg felt stable even though it is a suspended coaster.
>It seems the junior zone is fun for little kids, as it was for me when I was small. At my grown age, I still like the Pony Monorail.
>The food is exquisite. I loved them swirly chips around a stick, and dont even get me started on The Lodge. It's a big wooden carvery that serves great dishes for a large volume of people. Their chips are amazing, and I like their breaded chicken, especially the Parmigiana. Love, love, love.
>The staff are lovely. They are usually young people who initiate a bit of friendly talk before the ride starts. I think they are very chill. One thing is, the rides take a good 5-10 minutes to let people in and secure.
>The one star taken away from my review is just from personal interactions. The clientele can be really shabby, as the teenagers are cheeky and just some strange people around the park.
Overall, I really like the one and only theme park in Ireland.

The parking is very good, there is lots of space. The shops are also very nice. The offers are okay if you are coming from a different county to shop. The only thing is that there is not a lot of options for food.

What shall I say. I love the place but it can get crazy busy. I wouldn't go near it during public holidays as I don't enjoy crowds of people. Watch out for car or bike shows and Markets. There are lovely shops there, easy access and plenty of parking.
Plenty of shops, plenty to do, games for the kids on the walk, you can easily spend whole day here. Also starting point if you plan to do Game of Thrones tour. Shuttle bus starts here (bout 20min drive to actual Studio). You can buy tickets in the office.
Has really improved since it first opened years ago. Plenty of parking and good variety of shops. Next and Nike are excellent here, I always end up buying something in both. I would also recommend visiting The Range across the road, it’s probably the best one I have been to!
Checked online and the item was in stock in The Range When I got there I couldn't find it. I asked 2 members of staff for help. First shrugged and said I don't know, second said probably in diy showed him web page that said it was in stock, he said you don't want to go by that. Thank goodness I didn't do click and collect or I'd have bought something that didn't exist.

We were here last Friday for my partners birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Laura was my main contact when booking the package. She was fantastic with ideas and help. She was so patient with all my questions and made everything so easy.
The View Restaurant is a real treat, the food was excellent, as was the service. There was no delay ordering food or drinks as there was plenty lovely staff to help. We both want to give Ciara a special mention and thank you. She couldn't do enough for us, and everyone around.

Me and my Family had an absolutely fantastic experience at Dundalk Racing Stadium! From start to finish, everything was handled with professionalism and genuine care. A special mention has to go to Laura—her communication in the lead-up to the event was second to none. She made the whole process smooth and stress-free, and her attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed.
On the night, the floor staff were outstanding. They couldn’t do enough for us—always on hand, friendly, and going out of their way to make sure everyone had a brilliant time. It really made the experience even more enjoyable.
The stadium itself is a great venue, and when it’s matched with this level of service, it makes for a truly memorable night out. Highly recommend for a night at the races!
Visited Dundalk Stadium for the first time for dog racing and had a great evening! The atmosphere is amazing — lively, exciting, and full of energy. There’s plenty of free car parking, which is a big plus.
On the ground floor, there’s a takeaway café — handy for a quick bite, but the food was quite plain, with no seasoning or much flavour. Upstairs there’s a full restaurant with panoramic views of the track; we didn’t try it this time, but it’s definitely on the list for our next visit.
The stadium is clean, well-organised, and offers both greyhound and horse racing events. Great facilities, bars, and plenty of seating. I hope that next time we’ll have a bit more knowledge about dog racing itself — for now, we just enjoyed the spectacle!
Dundalk provides a key outlet for Irish racing, so that I am sure is important, and I think it would be a good place for a company outing. The greyhound racing just with horses instead of greyhounds felling is just not for me.
A few of us went here for a night out. Had the carvery(very tasty) on arrival and then a few pints and bets. Lots of tote facilities and also the traditional bookmakers available.Thankfully came out ahead on the betting

Newgrange, located in County Meath, is a prehistoric site dating back to around 3200 BC and is considered one of the world's oldest known prehistoric sites. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features a mound and chambers, serving as both a passage tomb and an ancient temple. Notably, Newgrange aligns with the movements of the sun during the winter solstice, creating an awe-inspiring illumination within its ancient chamber at dawn.
This place was amazing! You must buy tickets before arriving. They have limited slots available for each time slot. This allows you to enter the mound. The grounds were well kept. The view is amazing. I got goosebumps after entering the mound. It's amazing to think people walked in the passage for thousands of years, just like you do. There is a museum before you enter the grounds with a lot of information. They even simulate the solar cycle in the passage.
This place is a must visit while you are in Ireland.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but was very happy to discover that there was a timed, guided tour with limited numbers. There's a chance to look around the visitors centre before you board a private bus to the first stop - Nowth. The tour was about an hour long, but the time went very quickly - despite the awful weather. Next stop was Newgrange. Again we had plenty of time to listen to the guide and take photographs. The highlight was being given entrance to the middle of the tomb and seeing the skill that went into making it. Wonderful, humbling experience. Well worth making the trip and very good value for money. Compared to Stonehenge, it's much better. Better value, more interesting, proper guided tours, plenty of opportunities to take pictures and limited to small groups. Stonehenge is, in comparison, almost £30 each; packed like sardines onto a bus; told to 'move along' when you do get to the stones and no guide.
Super neat place that supposedly pre dates the pyramids. The tour guides were really knowledgeable and cracked a few puns. Very neat to see all the ancient pictographs, and view some of the symbols that are present all over Ireland. I really enjoyed this visit. Perfect weather when we went.
You cannot miss visiting this UNESCO World Heritage site. Book ahead otherwise you won’t get in. Book via the dedicated website. It’s simply amazing to see and have the guide tell you about civilisations Neolithic and 3200BC. It’s the oldest site I’ve ever done.

Newgrange is an amazing site to behold. So ancient and mind blowing. Keep an eye on the weather. We did Knowth on our tour and it was very wet and mainly outside.

Brú na Bóinne is a famous prehistoric landscape in Ireland, featuring three neolithic passage tombs and 90 other monuments. The most remarkable sight is Newgrange, with its immense round white stone walls topped by a grass dome. This ancient structure predates the Egyptian pyramids by six centuries and is precisely aligned with the winter solstice, allowing sunlight to illuminate the passageway under clear skies.
We did this at the end of our trip, after seeing a lot of sites. It was still incredible. We prebooked tickets the second the window opened, and sellout happens quickly, so be sure to act like these are concert tickets.
We went at 930. Drove up from Dublin. We took the 3 hour tour, which seemed like a long time on paper and was actually perfect.
The tour is well arranged. The guides are nice. A moderate amount of stairs and hills.
In Newgrange, I was got scared at how tiny the tunnel was and
turned around. The guide on the outside said that I should try again because it opens up reall big after that spot. I did. He was right, and I am so glad he convinced me.

Best thing we did in Ireland. Highly recommend! The site and the whole experience was fantastic. Our tour guides were amazing, too. The opportunity to enter the ancient tunnel and go 20 meters in to the central room and burial chambers was unforgettable. It’s a mystery with many questions left unanswered. There’s also dozens of Neolithic/Megalithic art carvings in stone surrounding the tombs. Visitors centre was great. Loved it all!! A must see IMHO 👀

This place is truly amazing and full of history. I don’t think many people, even those living in Ireland, know about it. It feels like time travel—taking you back 5,300 years. It’s one of the oldest man-made structures on Earth and is very well protected.
Make sure to book your tickets online before visiting. It’s absolutely worth more than what you pay. All the guides are wonderful and explained everything thoroughly throughout the tour.

As a tour guide who has visited Amazing Historical site for over 20 years as a private guide Newgrange and knowth never fails to Amaze me. I think anyone that comes to Ireland and doesn't visit these sites and this Magical and mystical Boyne Valley region. The Visitor centre is one of the best in Europe also.
Incredible experience. Our guide Sinéad was brilliant, and her use of Irish throughout the tour made it particularly special. The moment where the tomb lights up was surprisingly emotional. A must-see.
We did Newgrange and Knowth. Definitely cool but I much preferred the stone circles. They seemed more natural/untouched. These sites are extensively rebuilt - which is great to save what we can. They just didnt give any vibes at all. Maybe too many people. Sept 9, 2024.
I missed Broadleas and Athgreany to see this and its one of my biggest regrets of the trip. 2nd trip we did Broadleas but Athgreany is closed indefinitely.

Absolutely brilliant and well worth a visit. The owner and his team are so friendly and experienced. Brilliant array of vehicles, weapons, military equipment and uniforms. Everything in this museum has a story and the owner is only too happy to tell you about it. I am a member of a Military Motorbike Club and over 60 members turned up on the day. No matter what you think you know about military history, you will learn something here. Speak to the owner and ask him about his Granddad, a strong man and great story. Well done to the team, luv your work 👍🫶

2.5 hrs walk around when inside look up look down look everywhere, you will miss something.
It's an amazing museum lots of history exhibited in one place.
Try on uniforms guns sit in different vehicles it's really interactive for children.

This was so fun!! Katrina was our tour guide and she was great. Really friendly, good fun and heaps of interesting facts. This is a really great tour, you get to sample lots and you'll probably walk away with a packet or two. Seems like a good company and they have done a few things to lessen their carbon footprint. Our kids had an absolute blast.

A fantastic day out at Tayto tours. It was amazing to see behind the scenes of the crisp/snack factory and get lots of samples on the way. Our tour guide Josh was brilliant, very informative and good fun. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit for something completely different!

We played today (23rd December 24) and from start to finish we had an excellent experience. The lady in the pro shop was welcoming and friendly. There are good practice facilities and the course, despite two recent weather warnings held up well. It was obviously wet, but the greens staff seem to have managed it very well. They've grown out the fairways to protect them but the greens, aprons and fringes were tight and firm.
The green fee was €30 which was excellent value for a championship course, even though it was wet, I can't stress how bad the weather has been and many other courses are currently shut.
Can't wait to come back and play it in the summer.
The food in the restricted was also lovely.
Enjoyed it enough to consider a second club membership at CW.

Great course, with some amazing views. Very long and hilly though, I'd love to go back for a round... But only if I rent a buggy this time 😅 it's tough and very challenging, probably more suited to low h/c golfers. Bring plenty of balls with you as it's basically surrounded by water.

Love love love this place. Possibly one of the best courses I've played in Ireland, the course and its scenery is phenomenal. Plus going by the price of golf along the north coast it is dirt cheap. Club house is gloriously set up above the course and the staff, food and the guiness are fantastic. Well worth the trip for any golfer.
Went to The View for Easter Lunch. The views are spectacular and the restaurant is very comfortable. Food was acceptable but dissapointing for the images seen on the website. Expected a more upmarket dining experience but alas was not. Cutlery needs replacing (this type you expect in canteen, not a restaurant).

What a breathtaking church. It’s hard not walk alone this magnificent church without being in total awe. Photos cannot give justice to how beautiful this monumental church is. If you’re stopping by definitely drop in. We were fortunate enough to experience the pipe organ playing while we were there and it made the experience so the more awesome. Definitely worth seeing. This is the catholic cathedral. Both st Patrick’s are incredible and worth seeing.
Such a beautiful church and lovely grounds. The view of the town below was breath taken. The stain glass windows were the best I have ever seen. So many little details all over the church.
Stayed in Armagh for a few nights , it's true what they say about this being a town full of impressive churches, this possibly being the most impressive of the bunch. I can only vouch for the outside as the evening was late and was all closed up. The Cathedral, although smaller than most others that you would class as Cathedrals.
Grounds are pleasant enough to walk around, although no flat, the Church is perched upon a hill, so that the town can look up and worship the true majesty of the Lord , with the steps of attrition leading up to worship .... cor religion , it's so full of itself , if it wasn't for the buildings I'd have nothing to do with it !
Beautiful large elaborate cathedral with unending mosaics on the floor and the walls in addition to tall detailed stain glass windows. Lofty arches lead to more art work which ceiling angels watch over. A definite must see. Outside three tombs Cardinal Conway, one in Latin, and one in Irish. I do wish they had a small placard so I knew who the others were.
A very impressive building and the artwork in the ceiling is particularly worth checking out. Lots of lost stories about Irish saints hidden up there.
There is no doubt but that the building was designed to impress. It is set on a hill surveying the surrounding countryside. As was typical in the 19th and early 20th centuries it is a neo-Gothic design.
A majestic cathedral has gathered clergy and history! I was pleasantly fascinated by my visit there. Amazing view of the city from above.

Great spot for trail walking. We stayed at the castle and walked to the forest from there. Many different trails to choose from and a sidewalk to get to town as well.

Love walking around here. Brilliant place for a walk any time of year. Some paths very uneven and damaged, due to storms. However must have been cleared, and by the looks of it, they working to clear the rest. Also seen a coffee trailer at it this time, was open when I was there but will definitely go back to try.

Toilets aren’t maintained but otherwise very nice walking trails and dense woods! Must visit once.

We were a group of 10 and hiked for hours in this forest. The kids enjoyed stepping on the stones in the stream. Some lovely sights, fresh air, exercise. The signage could have been better as kids eventually got tired and there were lots of trails to get lost on. Overall would hike here again.

We do the pumpkin patch and Christmas every year at Causey farm. Today was our first time at the easter experience. It was absolutely brilliant. My son is 5 and he had a fantastic time, we were the last to leave the car park. There were endless activities to do. We spent about 4 hours and we didn't even get to it all. The car park was a bit rough for the buggy and some parts were not fully accessible without two to lift the buggy like the swans but I knew that could be the case. We made it work. It was nice to not only have a choice of chocolate at the end. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating as usual. They are always so lovely with the children. My son said it was the best day ever. We can’t wait for next year

Another very enjoyable day. My kids loved it! We spent over 4 hours. Our second time at Pooka Spooka and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to their Christmas experience in December. We traveled from Kilkenny & was well worth the two hour drive.
Attended pooka spooka with my youngest child and my 13 year old Attended farmaphobia with her friends. Both really well run Halloween events , I highly recommend getting the fast pass for farmaphobia as she was able to move through the different screaming events quickly enough about 1hour and half while I waited in the coffee shop . The pooka spooka was really fun for the youngest ,lots of entertainment he especially enjoyed the juggling guy and flying on a broomstick. Food vans were available for both events with lots of options.
We attended the Ghosts of the Manor in Rockfield House last night. It was absolutely brilliant. The actors were outstanding 👏 A really enjoyable experience
What an absolutely incredible place to visit with your children. We have been for Christmas and now also Halloween (as well as one in the summer) and by a mile, it stands out as being the best place to go. There is so much to see and do in Causey Farm. You’d easily spend 3.5-4 hours exploring with young children (not including if you spent time in the cafe as well). Some of their activities are so simple yet so much fun
And so entertaining and engaging. I highly recommend this spot for all seasonal events - Christmas, Halloween, summer. Even Dogitude, their festival for dogs is so unbelievably fun and heartwarming and is unmissable!

Christmas Experience Additional needs day, brilliant all around, the santa visit in the room, the music was a bit too loud we could barley hear santa calling out names of familys and its hurt some kids ears.
Spent all day Sunday at Rockfield House at Artival . The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Lots of great activities and fantastic stalls selling beautiful products . The staff were very friendly and great fun . Definitely be back .Thank you .
We visited for the Santa experience with our three children ages 6, 10 and 12. We all loved it. Each stop along the way was so beautiful and every person and elf we met was so welcoming and kind. Santa was so friendly and took his time chatting with our littlest who had a question for him. The gifts were really good and the entire evening was absolutely delightful. Thank you to everyone who made it possible. It was so magical and special.

Lovely walk but trails wouldn't be that very pram friendly as stones etc but with pushing can. Amazing park. Ice cream van which does lovely coffee there on weekends. Toilets opened and generally clean with toilet roll. One of my favourite walks

Drum Manor Forest Park near Cookstown is a fantastic spot for a day out with the family! The park offers lovely walking trails through lush forests, perfect for a peaceful escape or an energetic stroll. There's a beautiful pond with ducks, which is always a hit with the kids. Speaking of kids, the playground is fantastic – well-maintained and with plenty of fun equipment to keep them entertained. There's an entrance fee, but it's worth it for the facilities and the gorgeous surroundings. The only drawback? The weather! It rarely gives you a warm, dry day to fully enjoy all the park has to offer. But when you do catch that rare bit of sunshine, Drum Manor is truly a gem.
A nice place for a picnic on a sunny day or just a stroll around the gardens. There are 3 different trails you can do, none of them very long. Trails are in through small forested area and around the ponds. Unfortunately, on the day we went, some of the trails were closed due to forestry work going on. There is a good play park for kids and ample parking. There are reasonable toilets on site too. Sign for payment at entrance, car is £5, which is steep considering the facilities on offer. Ticket machine for payment is located in the carpark.
Great spot for camping especially if you are intending on some star gazing. We managed to see the milky way during our stay. Close to OM Observatory and beaghmore stone circle, great base for exploring the area.
Clean toilets and showers, lots of bins for rubbish too. Great play park for kids and gate with a coded lock for getting in and out via car so felt safe too. Very cheap to stay and clear instructions on how to get in via email beforehand. Family friendly site with great forest to explore and excitedly for us Bats flying about while we made smores at night, amazing!!
Lovely place to visit for a picnic and a walk. Happened upon it by a happy accident and we will be back. Clean toilets and a covered picnic bench which was great to see
This was a nice campsite. We paid £27 for one night on an electric pitch and the facilities were very good and super clean! There is an area to wash up and good showers!
Its first come first served so if you are tenting you could end up in between two caravans so that would gave to bot bother you!
There are a few hours worth of walks and the majority of the area is dogs allowed off leash so they can run to their hearts content. Would come again!
We found the toilets and showers to be dirty and there seems to be several caravans of ‘permanent’ residents with road work trade vehicles coming and going.

Adventurous, WC facilities excellent, family friendly, fun play park area. Paid parking area available. Loved our first visit in the winter, excited to go again in Spring, can only imagine house wonderful and colourful it’ll be then! Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved visiting Loughcrew Cairns, an extraordinary and peaceful megalithic site hidden in County Meath.
What I experienced:
The narrow, single-lane rural road added to the charm, and expects calm driving!
Around 25 parking spots offer quick access to the site, with a small blue info booth nearby.
The short (approximately 650m) hike to the cairns is steep and includes steps, so sturdy footwear is a must. It’s not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs, but highly rewarding.
Once you reach the summit, you're greeted by one of Ireland’s most historic collections of 30+ Neolithic tombs, dotted across three hills, with the crown jewel being Cairn T, known for its stunning rock art and alignment with equinox sunrise .
On a clear day, the views stretch across the midlands, practically 360° panoramas, and a blissful sense of tranquility .
I didn’t see any sheep during my visit, but locals say they often graze nearby, only adding to the bucolic atmosphere.
There was the option to join guided tours at the nearby Megalithic Centre, which bring the site's ancient archaeology and mythology to life, highly recommended .

This is one of the most famous archeological sites in Ireland that is a burial ground for ancient people over 5,000 years ago. Caution: the walk is long and very steep.
Historical Landmark with exceptional views and well worth a visit. Be prepared for a bit of a hike but well worth the effort, guides and information when you get there.
Beautiful view from the view. The tomb is maybe not overly impressive but depends on what you expect. It's a short, few minutes walk from car park but pretty steep.
This was better than I had expected. It is very easy to get to and very well maintained. There is a bit of a hike up to the main cairn but definitely worth it. Amazing views of surrounding g countryside.
Great visit in spite of the wind. The place is beautiful with a great view of the surrounding area. We also really enjoyed the guided tour. I would recommend it if you are not afraid of getting through a steep enough climb.
An impressive megalithic site that requires a bit of hill walking to reach. Sadly, I don't think it is possible to get a key to enter the cairn anymore, but it is still worth a trip.

Brilliant museum, so much to look at and my little fella especially loved the trenches out the back. Plenty of things to interact with too! Has a cafe on-site but didn't go into it, from the looks of it I think it was just scones and chocolate bars along with coffees. Would highly recommend visiting!
What a great day out. My 10 year old and 2 of his friends had a blast in trenches and even tried reinacting the war. The museum is lovely also. The staff were amazing and so very friendly. Will definately visit again.

Fantastic place to visit. Wonderful and informative exhibits of modern irish history and an outdoor representation of a WW1 trench. Took a few hours to get through everything and could have spent more time here if I could. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will make a return visit before the year is out. (6 stars if I could give it)
My second visit to the Cavan County Museum, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first visit. The WWI Trench Warfare installation was open this time, though only about half, it looked like. It was still interesting and informative about what the soldiers would have experienced in the trenches. The indoor museum is amazingly thorough and two visits aren’t enough to take it all in. This visit the top floor has a new exhibit about the Irish War of Independence, and there is so much history, pain and eventual triumph, though many years before peace.
Here are just a couple of photos of the archeological exhibits that are so fascinating.
A great place to spend a day, good variety of exhibitions to take in. You do need to give yourself time to wander round as there are three floors and an outside garden and area where there is a replica WW1 trench to explore. Lovely little cafe to have a bite and a cuppa as well. A really great experience, we will definitely be back.

Went for the Subaru rally experience. Highly recommend going. Staff know their stuff and are a great mix of professional and fun. The track is excellent. The cars are well prepped and you really can let them loose and have a lot of fun. Was so impressed we booked in for the Drift experience so will update soon.

Just back from a weekend stay at Todds Leap. Amazing time had by the fam-bam. Stayed in the tree house with the added bonus of being dog friendly. 🐕
On arrival the tree house was warm, welcoming and we even had a few welcome treats. It was spotless, beds freshly made and has all the basic kitchen amenities and an air fryer.
We booked into some of the activities in todds leap, staff were very helpful. Great fun was had by all! Eabha was great, bubbly and full of chat. Explained things really well and great with the wee ones too. 🧗♂️👬 We had a great time exploring in granda Ben's zoology and if your lucky enough to meet Granda Ben you can be sure of a good yarn and plenty of crack!
An excellent wee spot on our door step that you need to experience to appreciate.

Went with a group, staff were friendly, place was well maintained. The staff member with us during activities was great craic too.
There's loads of activities but it seems best to book in advance what activities you'd like to do.
Had a blast, would recommend to groups, families and parties.
I will say though, some activities are on some rugged terrain, best to wear old clothes and comfy footwear. Some areas may not be accessible for wheelchair users.
If I could give 6 stars I would, staff are beyond helpful and friendly, we had the pleasure of dealing with a really great guy called James.
We spent the entire day on motorbikes as well as doing ride on adventure lap with james piloting the epic vehicles!
Couldn't recommend this place enough, value for money, amazing facilities and beyond a lot to do!! Will be back regularly!
I visited two weeks ago for a motorbike ride in the middle of the forest.
An incredible experience. I guess because of the event and bad weather, the other facilities were closed.
The food in the restaurant was good, the pizza a bit burnt. Prices adjusted.
Organised Stag do for here and was very impressed... Nice accommodation, good onsite facilities and staff were brilliant. Was able to get into the cabins before the stags to decorate/set up which was great.

I am genuinely disgusted by the state of the cabins. The sleeping areas are completely unacceptable. The beds are infested with bed bugs, and the mattresses and linens are in such poor condition that it’s impossible to feel comfortable or safe. On top of that, the walls show visible mold, creating not only an unpleasant odor but also a serious health risk. To make matters worse, the cabins are crawling with insects of all kinds, making it clear that they have not been properly cleaned, treated, or maintained in a very long time. What should have been a simple and restful stay turned into an unhygienic and distressing experience that no guest should ever have to endure.
The best adventure day out, full of laughs and fun for all. Staff all 5 * very friendly and helpful and all looked like they loved being there, which made the day even better. Also a place for food, very clean and well maintained. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Had a ball this weekend. The staff were so accommodating James looked after us from the get go. Thank you Ben and all for such a great day/night. Will definitely return!!

Lovely walks and a great place to base yourself if you are into water sports. We didn't try it but they have also got glamping, camping and holiday lets.

Beautiful setting on the lough with breathtaking views. Lots to do including trails, cycles for hire, pond dipping and bug hunting. There are a couple of great mobility scooters that allow access to ost of the grounds. And of course the tearoom. Best one of any NT property we have been to, delicious range of hot food and the cakes and pastries have to be seen and tasted to be believed!
Had an excellent visit to Crom today, it rained but the beauty, colours, smells and the peacefulness were worth the soaking! I saw my very first red squirrel, alas too shy for a photo. We walked the Estate Trail and added the island with the walled garden approx 5.4 miles but you can do shorter paths. So lovely we will come again. The cafe, coffee and cake were excellent too. Thanks to Crom / National Trust staff for ensuring this wonderful place is available for us all.

Visited here in a small family group on a quite Sunday afternoon - this is well worth a visit! There is so much to see that it would probably take a few trips.. It's fantastic this history is being preserved for future generations and Philip is a fantastic guide and full of knowledge. Probably not a good idea for younger kids but I would highly recommend for teenagers upwards.

If you're nearby (esp if you're American) don't miss this place! What a gem to learn about life in the late 1700's -1800's, why people immigranted to America, and what it was like. They've put so much thought into this place and the people working there were really genuine and knowledgeable. We spent 4 hours and I wish I could have gone back, it does get a 'wee' 😉 bit tiring, so bring snacks or take breaks. Hopefully you'll have better weather than us and can sit in the sun!
Brilliant museum! A living history lesson. So well laid out and presented. Every house, bakery, craft, school, blacksmith, sweet stall to the ship bound for Baltimore, America had active people in costume relating stories, traditions & customs of the Irish people in the late 1700’s to mid 1800’s. I just loved it and you will too. Make this top of your list of places to visit in Northern Ireland. 🇮🇪 These immigrants were the lucky ones 🍀

Really interesting. Wandered round for a few hours learning about Irish immigration to America. Also the potato famine. Fascinating buildings and shops. School was great and good fun. Staff were knowledgable.
Boat was very clever and was a good link between the Ireland side and the US side.

I love castles, but this time I can tell that I did not feel at ease in it. I supposed to find more informations about the Maguire family and their history, instead what I found was a war museum where tanks are pointed towards the castle as if to symbolise the supremacy of England over this Irish family that was the owner of the castle.
There is just a small display case with some of their stuff and a small room that shows the story of this family in the castle. The other parts are a war museum with noises of battles, army medals, weapons... To me, it was a bit disappointing...
Very interesting museum with numerous displays. We learned a lot of local history. My husband is a military history buff so he particularly enjoyed those displays.
On our first trip to the north of Ireland we stopped in Enniskillen for a quick break by a river bank. On a whim we decided to have a look around Enniskillen Castle. £6 each for tickets which is very very reasonable in my opinion. We didn’t really follow any predetermined path, just started rambling. What a lovely, informative and educational ramble that was. Beautifully laid out and meticulously maintained displays chart the rich history of the area through the ages. From early settlers to the industrial age. Across to the military museum that shares the history of the Royal iniskilling Fusiliers and their involvement and sacrifice across many wars. A totally unexpected experience that I can only highly recommend.
A great way to learn some history of the area with a lovely cafe inside for a tea afterwards.

Always a great experience visiting Enniskillen Castle. Something new each time. Our guide, Frank, is probably the most knowledgeable about the history of the area and always so pleasant! Delicious food in the café and a very nice gift shop, as well.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Marble Arch Caves as it was close to 30 years from my last visit, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming – friendly, and full of knowledge that really brought the caves’ history to life.
The tour itself was fascinating, with each step taking us deeper into a landscape that felt both ancient and alive. It’s incredible to think of the history steeped within those walls, still continuing to this day. What really made the visit unique, though, was the chance to take a boat trip into the caves, as the water level was unusually low. Gliding through the dark, echoing chambers was both peaceful and awe-inspiring, giving us a perspective of the caves that felt truly special.
Overall, the combination of passionate staff, rich history, and that rare boat journey made the visit stand out. It’s one of those experiences that lingers long after you leave, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something memorable.
To think that a Stalactites and Stalagmites grows 1cm every 1000 years. Stalactites are icicle-shaped mineral formations that hang from a cave's ceiling, while stalagmites are mound-shaped formations that grow upwards from the cave's floor.
Went with a group of 10 as part of a research trip. Booked online which saved money. We weren't rushed. Lucky to have got the boat as it was raining outside. Everyone enjoyed it. Good information boards in the main building and video room.
A fun and interesting experience. There is a short boat ride when you get into the cave (this is dependent on recent water levels, best to check before arriving if this is operating). The boat ride allowed a unique experience of floating along under rock formations. The guide talked us through different calcium formations and the origins of the show cave. Can't fault the guide, he was charming and answered all questions with ease. The cafe there offers a great variety of food (sandwiches/cakes) and a nice cuppa. Gift shop for the usual goodies which was fairly priced. Ample parking on site. Recommend walking boots due to terrain inside the cave. Quite a few stairs at the end of the cave.
I would 10/10 recommend a trip to the Marble Arch Caves!

Really interesting place and very peaceful inside. I was worried about feeling claustrophobic, but it wasn’t a problem at all, the public areas are all very roomy and you’re always on a clear path.
We loved the boat trip inside and our guide was excellent. Thanks also to the colleagues in the shop who were super friendly, Olivia took great care of our big group who had to be split across two tours.
It was very popular and tour numbers are limited so you can enjoy the quiet of the caves without crowding, so book ahead.

If you wanted to make a day of it I'd recommend doing the The Shed Distillery afterwards and then maybe the boardwalk or a cruise in the Shannon 😎

Gerry was the guide during our visit, & what a guide he was. As a miner in this pit until it closed, he was informative & could tell afew funny stories along the way. He explained about how the equipment worked & how the men would have to position themselves to work safely. He & my dad, who also worked in the pits as a teenager, were able to compare notes, albeit different types of pit. This is probably the most engaging mining experience I've visited. There is an area of photos & old equioment/tools as well as a short video to help explain the mining jobs of the men and a nice clean cafe. I would highly recommend a visit here, worth the money. Added bonus, spectacular views of Lough Allen & the valley, especially when the sun is shining.
If you've got a weekend in Leitrim/Roscommon, this is worth the visit. Our guide was an ex-miner. His accent was tough for me (from Dublin) so I'd be interested to know if foreign tourists think similarly. The mine itself was pretty interesting, a bit chilly so a fleece/jumper would be recommended, and there's a small space for extra reading & a video. The cafe is ok with a small gift shop. There's plenty of parking & there's gorgeous views of Lough Allen. The driving route to Arigna is on some tiny, narrow country roads.
Really great experience, history of the mines was so interesting, our guide Eamon was lovely to chat to and hear his tales of the mines, its great the guides are ex mine workers to hear first hand stories. The cafe was so relaxed and lovely food, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, highly recommend a trip to the mines.

Arigna Mining Experience - An amazing tour into the history of Irish coal mining! A tour with former miners reveals 400 years of history at Arigna mines. In 1958, local coal powered the ESB power station, which closed in 1990. The miners had a grueling job: working on their knees in narrow 45cm faces, in dust and darkness. Awesome experience.

Maurice an ex-miner did a private tour with us. He provided great explanations but also stories of the time he was digging coal. Great visit.
My wife and I toured the Arigna mine in May 2025. There was just the two of us and of course our guide. I think his name was Ian, but can't remember for sure <sorry>. It was fascinating to hear the stories of the brave people working in the mines. It was hard and dirty work to say the least. Besides the potential inherent danger, we were told the vein of coal they would try to extract was only 22 inches thick. Well worth the time to see how some people had to earn a living. There is a small gift shop and cafe if you're hungry for something quick. There is also a nice view of the surrounding area in the lunch area if you stay for something to eat.

Belleek Pottery is dangerous… in the best way. You walk in thinking, “I’ll just browse,” and suddenly you’re mentally redesigning your kitchen to match that gorgeous teapot.
The tour was like watching art come to life — these artisans are so skilled, I started questioning my own ability to even fold a fitted sheet. The attention to detail is unreal, and the history behind the pottery makes each piece feel extra special.
The shop at the end? Let’s just say my luggage is now 10 lbs heavier and I have zero regrets. Highly recommend — just bring some self-control (or don’t, it’s worth it).

Had a "factory" tour of Belleek pottery today. Fascinating place - everything is hand made, no machines! We weren't allowed to take pictures inside but it was amazing. They have been in business at this location for 168 years and it's the kind of place that generations of families work here. About 70 artisans work here and they have EVERY master mold from every design ever made. They could replicate any pottery they've ever made in their entire history. About 65% of their pottery is sold to North America! I, of course, had to buy... So glad they offer shipping!
From the perspective of a late 30s, hairy, tattooed man, I grew up hearing about grandma’s Belleek collection. I brought my mom to Ireland in May and we did the tour. I was the youngest person on the tour and I could have spent a whole day watching everyone at their craft. The whole process is fascinating and the skill is so impressive. The end product is really something special. This place is really worth a visit and they also have an online store if you can’t get there

A beautiful lake but not really accessible. You can't park easily, sit to eat somewhere, or spend time there. That said the lake is nice, but Glencar Lake is maybe better without those drawbacks, although more crowded
Visited Ireland for a week and went to five castles with this being the best of the Best! Loved the atmosphere and freshness. Our room was spotless and had wonderful touches like free glass bottles of sparkling and still water and evening turndown service. You feel wonderfully pampered

Nestled along the scenic bend of the River Eske, Donegal Castle is a stunning historical landmark that showcases Ireland's rich heritage. Originally constructed in the 15th century by the powerful O'Donnell clan, this impressive fortress has undergone significant transformations over the years. Sir Basil Brooke rebuilt it in 1623, adding a striking Jacobean house nearby.
This is a beautiful castle to go visit. It’s right in the middle of town. Parts of it have been restored, on the inside there are some finished rooms and a large grand Hall. There is lots of information to see here about the history of this castle. You can take a tour or walk about freely. There is a large grass courtyard. There is no free parking. You must park in the parking lot by the river.

This is a really great historical landmark right next to the Diamond, the town center with lots of great shopping and eating. The fee is very small and the tour takes about 20 minutes (more if you linger).
The staff is very friendly, and the facilities are very clean.
This was one of our favorite landmarks, as it had a sf guided tour with lots of great historical information, and some rooms were staged to replicate original conditions. It was a lot of fun and really interesting.
Fantastic place to visit, I will never forget this castle and the history of it. I went there in time of Halloween and We met the Magician, Nemo. He prepared great magic show for visitors a specially kids.

Worth a visit. Entrance fee €5. The castle does not have parking. You can park in the city for €0.30-€0.50 per hour. The castle is well preserved, worth a visit.
I was hoping you'd get to go into the outer corners; they have access but there's no way to enter (doorways suspended in the air).

As two women who barely clear five feet, we’ve never once been accused of being too tall for anything. But apparently, medieval architecture had other plans.
Between ducking through doorways, climbing spiral stairs that could double as a quad workout, and pretending we owned the place for 0.2 seconds, Donegal Castle gave us everything we didn’t know we needed.
Highly recommend — just bring good shoes, a sense of humor, and maybe a helmet for the tall folks. 🏰😂
Intact castle with 4 floors open to the public. Beautiful castle , located right in town. We enjoyed our visit, worth your time.
Used the OPW card to gain free admission. Surprised a castle employee when the card was presented....she was rather smart-aleck and then saw the card and knew she had to now do some actual work besides sitting there and taking people's money. The castle is small but quaint and realistic. The 2d and 3rd floors are awesome.

Very beautiful waterfall, there is plant of designated parking nearby with ice cream van, play area, lake view, sheep, tea house and the route to waterfall. This route is accessible for mobility users up to the waterfall. There is choice to climb stairs and come round to the tea house. Rest areas and toilet are nearby in parking.
Lovely quiet calm spot to visit. Family and I had a small picnic. We were fortunate with lovely weather for the day.

Beautiful location with a lake on one side, at the carpark, and then a small walk uphill through a canopy of trees to the gorgeous waterfall. Two pathways available to reach the waterfall, both have steps about 1/2 ways up but also stopping areas and seats on approach to sit and enjoy the sounds and views. Paved pathways in place but may become slippy with rain. Some light to moderate exertion required to reach the top and loop back around - not suitable for buggies etc. lovely cafe with information point, bathrooms, play area (outside), and small crafts at the entrance to the walk also. Parking is substantial but due to popularity it may require a little time to get a spot, but generally appears to have a steady turnover of spaces available. Lovely ice-cream van onsite in carpark also, (seasonal) - well worth a stop for a quick chat and nibble if inclined. Overall - a must see!
Absolutely beautiful Waterfall.
It is really high and the sound of the water falling is so peaceful. You can go up the steps at the side of the waterfall just to watch the water fall at such a great height. Really worth a visit and no charge to visit it.

Beautiful 😍 on a clear day the lake reflects the mountain and the view is stunning 🗻 there are 2 viewing points by the lake. I prefer the one the the fishermen use as I think the view is a little bit better. The second is by the waterfall and teahouse, it has a small visitors centre and public toilets. Parking and entry to the waterfall are free. I think campers can park there overnight without issue too.

Must visit place. There is a waterfall near the lake in the name of Glencar waterfall which will give you a mind blowing view. The parking and entrence is free here. You will get toilet facility and and picnic area as well. You will also get fantastic view of the lake as well from the parking lot as well.
Beautiful lake we visit number of times every year. Something for everyone, Glencar waterfall, Devils chimney, number of hiking trails, fishing and boating and breathtaking scenery.
Glencar lake is beautiful, it stretches over 2 counties, Co.Sligo and Co.Leitrim. At the sligo end near the Glencar Water plant there is a carpark with benches, you will notice here there is a small white sandy beach. What you no longer see is the ruins of the old barytes mine across the road, it is due to this that you have that white sandy beach and you will see the small one stones that use to be mined. Just before the Leitrim boarder you will see the devil's chimney, if this waterfall is blowing upwards its a sign that bad weather is on the way. At the fair end of the lake on the Leitrim side you will find the magnificent Glencar waterfalls.
This is were my dr took me to when I first came to irleand and my kids back home and there df and gf they take there for the first time as well I have started a new tour dishing in my family it so romantic and peaceful and you can tea or coffee and etc as well at the restaurant close by as well xxxx
It is homed to salmon and other animals such as ducks and beautiful swans.You can also go canoeing.You is against the law to fish in Glencar Lough and if you do you will be punished by a fine.
Great views clean & clear water amazing place to swim, walks up to and around the waterfall and take in some clean fresh air it's amust if yr near by or passing trew leitrim on way to sligo...the swans come over and up close to feed....from the main road class views..and best of all it's FREE....
Lovely place to visit in sligo.the lake is couched between the mountains and has it's own beauty.

Absolutely surreal mountain. I’ve never seen anything quite like this in my life. It’s just absolutely stunning, and it makes for such a pretty backdrop when driving through Sligo as you can see it in the distance.
Incredible views. We had perfect conditions: it had been dry and sunny for about five days prior to our hike; the day of was clear, sunny, and warm. The hike is not easy, but definitely doable with a moderate level of physical fitness. I always use hiking poles. The only “hard” parts are the ascents and descents (same area) which are really less than about 2kms if that. Being on top of that mountain you have been staring up at, the same one Yeats writes about in poems, is incredible. Views to infinity. Final note: we had perfect dry conditions. No way I would do this if it was wet—the ascent and descent would be torture; the boggy mountaintop unenjoyable. Wait for sunny days.
Long enough to get to the top. Bog/ Marsh land at the bottom (coming from Luke’s bridge) so hiking boots are a necessity even on a good day.
