Saw very good review about this place decided to give it a try. The playground is nice. CAROUSELL is simple but age 130 years old something different. The house that showcase how 200 years ago people living here is quite interesting, but wish there are more English explanation so that we know what we seeing. Many houses we visit is close or no one around at all. If need to pay for ticket I think is not quite worth it. We got cover by Swiss travel pass. The train ride inside is almost non existence because only a few ride a day at selected timing and you can tour around if you want to take train. End up we walk alot and some are not easy path. We were lost half way as this place is huge and limited sign. The map and sign some need sometime to figure out.

it's an amazing journey through time and hand-crafts! there are hundreds of structures guiding you through the places and timea of older switzerland with live demonstration for pottery, rope making, milling and many more! the crafts are well explained and kids & adults are equally in awe! many nifty playgrounds and infrastructure make the experience well rounded. the horse carriage schedule and high prices could be made more pleasant. also more simple info for how such houses were build would be cool.

Absolutely loved every moment of my visit! I had the honor of meeting a leather craftsman who was so kind as to make me a keyring. I chose a Longhorn design, perfect for a Texan. I also met the soup and coffee makers who used original equipment to create delicious, timeless food and drinks. It was truly amazing to watch. As I walked around the open-air museum, I was fascinated by how each house was unique in its own way. There was also a restaurant and a shack selling food and drinks. I could have easily spent the entire day there but unfortunately I had to catch a train and it's time to leave. Highly recommended.

You can spend the best 6 hours here. I am so impressed how well it is done and how big this is. I will come every season. It is definitely worth traveling 5 hours just for this❤️

So much to do and such great value for money. I recommend arriving early to get full value from your visit as you’ll need several hours to explore the various areas of Switzerland that are represented. A beautiful place, friendly staff and an essential stop for a summertime holiday in the Bernese Oberland.

Treated to postcard perfect views, a serene water, flower lined pathways, and the gentle rhythm of swans gliding across the lake. It is a must visit. PS: Whether you’re sipping a coffee as dawn breaks or enjoying the rose-gold glow of sunset on snowy peaks, every moment here feels like a postcard comes to life. Absolutely breathtaking. The top of Europe it prides itself as. 3475M of elevation. A must visit if you're in Grindelwald. You have to change trains twice to get up here but the views are amazing. Theres different stations that you can go to and there's an ice station as well. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here.

It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper “wow” before you even realize you’re doing it. That said, the experience is very tourist-oriented — and I say that with both appreciation and a smile. On the one hand, it’s impressive how accessible everything is: tunnels, elevators, shops, cafés, even an ice palace. The Swiss engineering behind this mountaintop infrastructure deserves applause. On the other hand, the sheer number of visitors can make you feel like you’ve taken a scenic detour through a luxury shopping mall at 3,500 meters. And then there’s the crowd itself — a fascinating, unstoppable wave of excited tourists from all over the world. You haven’t truly experienced the Jungfraujoch until you’ve seen a group of people taking selfies in sneakers at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. It’s equal parts surreal and entertaining — like a nature documentary directed by Wes Anderson. All in all, the Jungfraujoch remains an unforgettable experience. It’s beautiful, over-the-top, slightly chaotic, and absolutely worth it. Just don’t expect solitude or silence — and maybe bring sunglasses, patience, and a good sense of humor along with your camera.

Absolutely stunning, snow all round the year, less tourist compared to Titlis. A nice tour route set up. You will clearly need 5 hrs and more if you want to enjoy every spot at your pace. The snowtubing and sledging were absolute fun. 20 CHF for Half hour and unlimited rides. Ice palace was beautifully carved. The hot chocolate shop at Aletsch glacier was yummy. Point to note- you have to walk a lot there, but for older people and people who are unable to walk a lot, there are places to sit in the warmth of the tunnel and enjoy the views.

An absolute must see if you're in the Jungfrau region. The views of the Alps are unreal. The viewing platform at the Sphinx and the area with the flags lower down give the best photo opportunities. The ice sculptures are worth checking out.

The number one attraction as well as the most expensive attention in all of Switzerland. It cost about $500 usd for two people. The gondola ride up is amazing and the best cable car ride in the world. After the cable car you arrive at eigen glacier which is also very beautiful, then you take the train up to jungfraujoch and the train stops in the middle for you to see another glacier. Once you’re at the top there are several stations you can take a look at most of which can be seen in the photos I posted. You’ll also want to check their public webcam to make sure the weather is good on the day you come.

Maybe the one thing in Switzerland that doesn’t feel overpriced. Awesome experience. The roaring of the waterfalls in the caves was potentially a cooler experience than the actual waterfalls themselves. Plenty of parking Pro tip: take elevator to the 6-10 waterfalls and then make your way down from 6-1. Was an hour and a half experience for us.

Spectacular falls which are well set up with all the different viewpoints. I took the lift up to viewpoint 6 then walked the stairs to the top, which isn't difficult but you definitely need good grippy shoes. I didn't get too wet, only a few drips here and there but you will need a jacket as it is very cold. There is a little souvenir shop located along the path as well as the cafe with clean toilets. I stopped for coffee and a muffin, both were delicious 😋

An unforgettable experience! Trümmelbach Falls is a truly unique natural wonder — 10 glacier waterfalls hidden inside a mountain, carrying meltwater from the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. You ride a lift up through the rock and walk through tunnels, stairs, and bridges carved into the cliff. It’s moderately physical (lots of steps!), but totally worth it. The sound and power of the waterfalls — up to 20,000 liters per second — is breathtaking. Well organized, very safe, and perfect for a 1-hour visit. Highly recommend wearing good non-slip shoes. Tickets were CHF 14 for adults (2024) and free parking is just a 2-minute walk from the entrance.

Trümmelbach Falls, in Lauterbrunnen Valley lets you walk inside a mountain, with roaring waterfalls echoing through rock tunnels. The short hike includes stairs up and down, so wear sturdy shoes. There is optional lift inside the mountain. Visit early to avoid crowds and bring a waterproof jacket—the spray is strong. Tickets can be bought on site. The dramatic sound and close-up views make it a rare natural wonder worth seeing. Photography is allowed but watch your gear around water.

Very cool experience! The admission is 15CHF per adult and 7CHF per kid and for us it is it was definitely worth it. Not to mention that the walk to the area is breathtaking.

The walk to the falls was magical! There is an entry fee, I can’t recall the amount. You will get wet. There’s a bakery that you can enjoy before or after that was delightful!

Visiting Schilthorn Piz Gloria was absolutely one of the highlights of my trip. The cable car ride itself was an incredible experience, smooth, comfortable, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. As we ascended, the scenery just kept getting more and more spectacular. At the top, the weather was perfect, which made the whole experience even more magical. The 360° views from Piz Gloria are truly stunning with snow-capped peaks, valleys, and endless mountain ranges that leave you speechless. The Bond-themed touches add a fun and unique twist to the visit, but the natural beauty alone is worth every penny. It’s not just a sightseeing trip, it’s an unforgettable adventure. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, I can confidently say this was worth every moment and every cent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland!

Somewhat pricey to take the gondola up to the top, but it's well worth it for the views. There is a bunch of James Bond history and plaquards. But the views alone are breathtaking. You should fefinitely wait for a clear day, othe you'll just be looking at the fog.

Break taking views! Certain areas were under construction, but it did not take away from our experience. Be sure to walk out to the point and enjoy time in one of the viewing boxes.

Was the filming location of a 007 movie. Granted it is not as high as Jungrafraujoch, but the views are equally fantastic. Highly recommended to make a trip here. There is a rotating restaurant at the tower area also as well that serves very decent buffet lunch.

Great experience. The cable car on the first stretch is supposedly the steepest in the world. Remembered to include the 9 Euro cheese / cold cut option, which is served at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant. It comes with a drink and there was plenty of food to fill us up. And it tasted good, too. So pretty much a no-brainer. The view from the top was great. Unfortunately clouds descended while we were there and it even started to hail. Which kind of added to the whole experience. Some cool James Bond stuff - check out the bathroom mirrors! Unfortunately quite a lot of construction going on, which detracted from the whole experience. Will still give it 5 stars, but probably more like 4.5 due to construction, high cost and a very unpleasant guy in the ticket booth. Everything else was perfect and definitely an experience. Now back in the US and planning on watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tonight 😊

My less-than-ideal rating was solely due to the unfortunate timing of my visit. Otherwise, I would have missed the opportunity to go altogether. It was a heavily overcast day, because of that, I skipped exploring Birg and went straight up to Schilthorn instead. On top of the poor weather, Schilthorn was still under construction. After a quick browse through the gift shop, a short walk around the outdoor deck, and a light snack at the restaurant, it was already time to head back down. I’d have to return someday to truly experience the full beauty of this attraction. Hopefully on a clear day and once the construction is finally complete.

The views are priceless and it's definitely worth it to go! However, be warned that getting around through the construction is extremely difficult. It look 20 minutes to figure out how to go down to the Walk of Fame and the View Lounges. That, for me, was the best part. It's away from the hordes of people fighting to get the best selfie and closer to nature. You can see forever! The best time to go is usually between 15:00-18:00 in the summer (weather permitting) because the clouds tend to lift around that time.

Lake Thun is an absolutely stunning and romantic lake! I visited in 2019 with my family, and it was truly a memorable experience. The lake offers breathtaking views, crystal-clear water, and many beautiful picnic spots to relax and enjoy nature. Lake Thun is absolutely stunning! The serene waters and beautiful surrounding hills create a perfect atmosphere for families. Our children loved exploring the lakeside, watching the ducks, and simply enjoying the fresh air. Plenty of space to walk, relax, and soak in the views. Lake Thun has absolutely amazing scenery. We spent almost an entire day there and still couldn't get enough. Starting in the morning, we enjoyed the view from St. Beatus Cave, getting a panoramic picture of the lake from above. Then we continued our adventure by ship, circling the lake and savoring every corner. The lake has very clear water, with beautiful typical farmhouses and the Swiss Alps in the background, adding to the picturesque setting. Every corner of the lake was stunning, perfect for healing and taking a break from your busy life.

The morning view of Lake Thun from Beatenberg is simply breathtaking and worth waking up early for.

Very nice park at the top of Bern city, offering a place to rest and fantastic view. The restaurant is ideal to take a break from a walking tour, having all the city in "the plate". Very nice place for panoramic photos of the city and the river. A must visit

We were not able to have a table by the side, with the amazing view as we had not made a reservation. We came here on a whim. We were given 2 other seating options, 1 which we were warned we would be hit by the sun soon and the other on the other side near the kids playground on the high chair stools and table. The waitress who served us was super busy, there was a large party of 10 or so and lots of other small tables she was serving. She did her best to keep everyone happy. There was a bit of a wait time to order. Once the food came, it tasted good. However due to being summer, wasps started to appear and take over. The toilets are inside, downstairs, they were clean. Upon exiting the building we saw a huge amount of salad plates ready to go just sat on the side. Overall, it was good.

Nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the city. In a hot summer day you will not be able to dine inside because it’s extremely hot and there isn’t AC. We dined at the patio and unfortunately were invaded by dozens of flies as soon as our food was received. We prompted to move everything inside. Service is mediocre.

I loved it. They place is very nice and clean, with outstanding views. Service is great and fast. I took the chicken sandwich for a quick lunch and it was very good.

If you choose to come from the down town of Bern; be prepared to pull enough energy to walk up thru the hill, which is a nice little warm up and workout before arriving to the restaurant. Also, it’ll be great to spot coupe or bears from the bridge while heading to the restaurant.

In my opinion, Bern's old town is one of the most beautiful and compact in the world. Its specialty is the arcades formed by the old buildings lining the streets. The arcades are lined with shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc. It is worth walking around the old town, also along the banks of the Aare River, and climbing to the Rosengarten to admire the magnificent view of the old town. Every time I visit Bern I feel amazed.

A beautiful town, probably the nicest in Switzerland. In the morning it is less crowded and the streets are well conserved. The prices are really high, which makes the costs hardly affordable for foreigners

You are unwinding the clock back 500 years ago to experience the lifestyle in medieval time. The old street (made of sandstones), clock tower, cathedral surrounded by garden and river are breathtaking.

Beautiful and quaint little old town in the capital of Switzerland! I got there early so the streets were rather empty and it was nice taking a slow stroll down this street. The street was lined with familiar brands/shops, the trams ran down both sides and I almost felt like I was transported back to medieval times - except the modern shops bring me back to the present. If you walk further down, you’ll end up at the Bear Pit, another little tourist attraction of Bern.

Old Town Bern is picturesque both in the day and night. Can take Bus 12 from main square to Bear Park and return. If you stay in hotel, can get activation code for free bus ride in Bernapp. Else, can park at Casino car park but it's expensive.

Visiting the Zytglogge was a highlight of my trip to Bern. This 13th-century clock tower is not just a beautiful landmark, it’s a piece of living history. I arrived a few minutes before the hour and was amazed by the mechanical figures and the precise chime—it feels like stepping back in time. The surrounding Old Town streets are charming, full of cafés and little shops, making it a perfect spot to explore after watching the show. Whether you love history, architecture, or just a great photo opportunity, the Zytglogge is a must-see in Bern.

Walking through Bern’s Old Town, I stumbled upon Bim Zytglogge and was instantly charmed. The area around the clock tower feels like a slice of history—cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and the hourly show of mechanical figures on the astronomical clock. It’s a lively spot, with locals and tourists mingling, and plenty of cafés and shops nearby.

Such a nice Watch tower. Very interesting and of course, full of historical events to tell from it and its city, Bern. Really a great stop-by spot, a must when you'd like to see the spectacle of the watch with its figures moving at 6pm.

Its a big old clock. There is some entertaining bits on the west side every hour but dont expect anything dramatic like a giant cuckoo clock. Pretty cool though for an 800 year old piece of work.

Each corner of this town will make you feel to walking back in time. Such a beautiful place. You can visit the clock tower from inside for 10 chf

Zytglogge (Clock Tower) was built in 1220 as part of Bern’s western gate, becoming a civic clock tower after the city expanded. The astronomical clock was added in 1530 with moving figures such as bears, a jester, and Chronos, which perform each hour.

I’m glad I ignored the handful of negative reviews, which mostly are from a few years ago. These thermal baths are quiet, in a stunning location and with helpful, friendly staff. The view from the outdoor pool is beautiful, the spa “village” is very good and the Aufguss - every two hours - was excellent; the man who led it was a master with the towels! The Roman-Irish bath was well done - sure, it’s not Baden-Baden and the facilities are a bit tired in places, but I’m very pleased I made the trip.

Wanted somewhere to relax after a day waking in the mountains and was going to go to one of the other pools after reading the reviews. The other place was too busy for me so decided to ignore the reviews and try here. So glad we did. The pools are lovely and the outdoor pool has a stunning view It wasn't at all crowded and so relaxing. Yes the changing rooms may need an update and some of the lockers too but they were clean and the staff helpful and friendly

The Spa/ Therme is in a bad condition. In the shower the handle fall off, lights are broken, the floor in the water is dirty. Multiple elevators are broken. One Sauna is out of orders for years and I payed 40.- CHF for 3h. All that said, it's a shame cause the building itself is beautiful and has a great view. And the idea of an underground Sauna village is also beautiful. Because it's so run down you also have not many people around either what is nice at least. Of you owner of this spa reading this review: Please please please renovate this spa! It would be a shame to see it go under.

we were checking this place out to experiance another thermal spring in leukerbad. sadly this place wasnt worth going since it was almost deserted (including the mal which was almost dead (most shops where closed for good and empty), and the baths were poorly visited (mid july!). it was a weird experience. economicaly this doesnt seem to check out anymore. also lots of stuff in bad shape and poorly maintained.

Absolutely wonderful place for the family. Lots to do, spotlessly clean, friendly staff. No matter the weather this is a great year round activity. After you have paid you don’t need to worry about anything else, your wrist band is your locker key and how you pay at the bar. On the way out scan your wrist band on the pay machine and pay for your drinks.

I have absolutely loved it. There are so many things to do: water slides, outdoor and indoor pool, pool bar, sauna and so on. There are also facilities to people with children. Minuses: - Towel is not included, so bring yours. - We did not find any water fountains.

Worth doing at least once ! I really enjoy the place… you can just swim on top, or slide in the tube with the kids!! Or just relax on the other level, where water is just so great…

I have visited this location during both the winter and late summer seasons, and the views were consistently impressive. The water temperature was notably pleasant. While the buildings exhibit some age, the environment offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. Furthermore, the pricing is quite reasonable, especially for Swiss standards. The facility also provides a small dining area for guests who wish to bring and consume their own meals.

I liked the landscape and the diversity of options, both indoors and outdoors. I didn't find the installations particularly beautiful, but they were clean, perfectly working, and all seemed fairly priced. We didn't wait, and the employees were very welcoming.

The main indoor and outdoor pools look newly renovated and are in excellent condition. There’s also a children’s pool and a small play area, which makes it great for families. The spa area is in good shape, though a bit small. It includes a steam bath, three or four saunas at different temperatures, and a cold-water pool outside. The spa area is nude-only, and access to it costs an additional 15 CHF. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Worth to see. In fact, as I could observe this funicular is not spectacular. It's just small and short ride really, but it's a must do in Fribourg. A bit of the history of the city as it connects the old town with the new. I also in another day climbed the stairs next to it, which is not that exhausting.The funicular itself is made of wood and is quite old, which makes it special for me. ****

The price is included in the day ticket. So we thought we should try it. It's travels very short distance. It's not spectacular but an ok experience. Anyways there is not many touristy thing to visit near fribourg city center, so it can be visited once.

Great tour with ear phones you point to displays and learn more. I spoke to a chocolate decorator who has been there 25 yrs and he loves working there. Learn how to evaluate chocolate quality and taste and then get to sample many varieties of their chocolates. Superb place!

Absolutely worth a visit! Maison Cailler is an amazing experience from start to finish. There’s plenty of parking space, which makes visiting super convenient. Inside, you get to enjoy lots of free tastings of their delicious, high-quality chocolates every bite is a treat! My family enjoyed it so much The museum is beautifully done, fun, and educational great for both adults and kids. Outside, there’s a lovely park where children can play and enjoy the fresh air while you take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. A perfect spot for families, chocolate lovers, and anyone visiting Switzerland. Highly recommended!

We went on their tour, and it was an good experience! They had a ton of free samples and some really cool education and history. I wouldn’t drive there for 3 hours, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely a nice stop.

Cailler museum was a pure delight. There was a separate production line just for samples. Loved every bit of the museum from the history of chocolates to modern day chocolate making in Switzerland. Of course the free samples and the discounted chocolates in the gift store were icing on the top!

The Cailler chocolate factory is a very interesting place to visit, with a well-designed tour that shows the history and production process. The experience is enjoyable and the chocolate tasting is definitely a highlight. It is a bit expensive, but still worth it for the quality of the visit. The shop at the end is excellent, offering a wide selection of high-quality chocolates and gifts

Arriving was a little intimidating. We went at a 4:00 on a Sunday, and the line waiting to enter the tour was already out the door. The way they have their store set up is very aesthetically pleasing. A whole wall full of chocolate bars! The tour its self was very entertaining. You are lead through different rooms where they tell you the story of their factory, with each room heavily decorated to tell you part of the story, going perfectly along with the audio tour. They had a chocolate machine making little chocolates right in front of you, which, after being wrapped, were then placed in a bowl specifically for you to eat! They had multiple testing stations after that, which I loved. It was all around worth every penny.

Fantastic Medieval Castle For me this is one of the most fabulous castles in Switzerland with Chateau de Chillon or Vaduz (actually in Liechstenstein). The reason I really like it is the fact it is so well preserved you almost feel like you could be in the 13th century. The wood is still there which is quite unique. The whole feel is very grand. Bonus is that once you are here you can eat a great fondue in one of the local restaurants. Super worth it and recommended.

Enjoyed the visit to the castle very much, I happened to visit during medieval festival which was wonderful. Spent a couple of hours there. Lovely gardens as well. A great day's outing. I recommend going early morning to avoid crowds.

A nice small castle in Gruyère. You will learn how it changes over time as it was owned by a local count to the a rich artist family and lastly as a museum. The castle is interesting since it has also been used as a personal residence of artist family so there are a few rooms that looks like 19th century European home. You can also see beautiful scenery of surrounding village from the castle and also takes picture of beautiful garden. Two negative things that can be improved are: 1) There is a large signboard in the courtyard for ad. 2) There are some modern art installations that feel out of place within the castle (not dedicated space). Both break the immersion. Recommended to visit. 👍 Tips: You can buy join ticket with Maison du Gruyère or Giger Museum or Tibetan Museum.

This is a beautiful small town nestled in the swiss Alps. There are lots of shops and 3 cool museums to visit as well as a castle. The food was great but like in all the other reviews it's expensive. So if you want to eat cheep stop at the grocery store or McDonald's before heading up to the town.

Although we did not go inside, we enjoyed very much walking through the lovely town of Gruyeres all the way up to the castle and admired the beautiful view.

Although growing up in Switzerland, I had never visited Château de Gruyères before and hadn't even been aware of its existence. But I came across it online when planning my most recent visit to the country, and I'm glad I did, because it's an absolute gem and shouldn't be missed by anyone in the area! Unlike many other castles, it's well furnished, so lots of things to look at inside. Especially the tapestries I found sensational. There are also extensive exhibits that tell the story of Swiss tourism, which I found fascinating. Wondering around the castle was a real eye-opener, feeling like a true step back in time, interesting and educational. One thing to slightly criticise: The official Website is very slow, which can be a bit frustrating. Just wondering whether it's running on a slow server, which might benefit from an upgrade. I noticed this when planning the trip and just checked again now, encountering the same problem.

You can combo the castle ticket with the gruyere factory down below. Nice castle with perfect views up and down the valley. Three levels are open with a descent amount of artifacts. The fireplaces are something to pay attention to.

Well maintained castle, modestly furnished, with a collection of interesting frescoes and murals. Strategically built on a small island, it used both the Lake Geneva and a moat created between the island and the mainland for defense. Our group had arrived in the late afternoon just in time to enjoy free wine tasting of some local wines, then proceeded to explore the medieval halls and underground chambers. The view from some rooms onto the lake and the Alps is stunning. It is the most visited monument in Switzerland.

This lakeside Castle with breathtaking view was stunning, pictures didn't do it justice. Its magical setting made it one of Switzerland’s most enchanting landmarks. I fully enjoyed my visit, highly recommend.

Château de Chillon is actually really big to explore, especially with the guided map they provide you. I was so tired, a lot of exploring new rooms that never seem like it would end. If you didn’t know, this castle inspired Prince Eric’s in The Little Mermaid. You can hear tons of water sounds by the prison area. It was relative peaceful for me as there weren’t much crowds and kids, so sometimes I got to explore rooms alone.

Beautiful castle (Little Mermaid was inspired on it) with lots of history. I really recommend taking the audio guide which is super complete. It lets you wonder alone around the castle which is a magical experience. The castle is in great conservation, and the dungeons are particularly beautiful. Would recommend this visit if you’re around. You can buy tickets directly upon arrival, and the audio guide takes like 2h to complete

The best view I’ve had from any castle I’ve visited so far. The castle is beautifully preserved, with authentic medieval furnishings that clearly took great effort to maintain. It’s generously open to the public, with access to nearly every corner—even up the creaky wooden staircases, which add to the sense of stepping back in time. Free entry for Swiss pass holders. Two hours or longer is needed.

Fascinating experience. We spent several hours wandering through the castle. The careful preservation of this site allows an understanding of history, with excellent access to all areas both indoors and outdoors and detailed information boards throughout. It is also a lovely lakeside walk from Montreux (after ferry from Lausanne) and a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating is opposite. A truly wonderful morning.

Chillon Castle is a medieval island castle located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, near Montreux. It is the most visited historic monument in Switzerland. Come for their nice history and good lake views, indeed very photo worthy! After all it’s free with SWISS TRAVEL PASS.

Gorgeous hike up and down, but your knees have to be fit enough! About 14km, took us 5h up and down including a break and stops to watch the animals and nature. The views at the top are stunning!

Beautiful hike and very customizable to the people you are with. The food at the different restaurants is amazing and the views are breathtaking. Even though it was very hot the day we went, the tree coverage protects you from the worst heat. Recommend to go in the morning though!

You can hike from the city of Noiraigue. Depending on how fit you are it will take more or less time. I needed about an hour and a half to reach the top (and the trail is steep!) but it is absolutely worth it. It is a great place to visit and I will certainly go again someday! If you are not that fit I am afraid this is not the place for you.

Magical place. I was there for stargazing. Nice, dark skies. Biel is visible though. But the atmosphere makes up for it.

Great view but hard trail to hike up How to get there? If you take public transportation, you get off at railway station: Noiraigue. The way up: you will turn left, then right, then you follow the signs to sightsee spot: Le Soliat. That are two paths upwards: I took the right side one, it is relatively long, but not so steep. Be careful that the way up is very nature, you will need good hiking shoes! Plan more time if you have kids with you. It took us 3 hours to up, and 2 hours downhill. The path is quite rough and tough, I warned you 😂 If you drive there, it might drive up to the restaurant Le Soliat. Please call them to verify. I would recommend this way for my next visit.

We arrived from Milan Sept 6, 2025 just in time for the 3 days Freddie Mercury birthday celebration. I enjoyed the celebration right there in Lake Leman so happy to celebrate 🥳 his birthday and experience where he once stood. The museum dedicated to Queen is just 200 meters from his statue.

Enjoyed the walk around Lake Geneva, admiring the many statues, small or lifesize. The iconic one of Freddie Mercury was like icing on a cake. However I do wish someone would clean up the statue once in a while, there is just too much junk hanging on him and around him as gifts from well meaning fans.

When in Rome...er, Montreux. Worth a visit for a photo or two if you've got the time. And there's a gelateria just a block away! Hang out on/near the lake right there at the coolest public bench circle ever made, then take a stroll along the lake - preferably near sunset.

As a lifetime fan of Freddie, I took a 4 hour detour, just to go and pay respect to the greatest singer and entertainer if all time. He has a beautiful spot with a great view of the lake. I'm sure he would have loved it.

The great representation of a Titan of music. A little hard to get a great photo as they were doing some construction around the area. At one point, he even had a do not cross tape wrapped around 1 foot as they made a fence to do some work on the viewing platform for the lake. I did manage to get one or two good shots. If you can get a picture of him from the side with the mountains and the lake on a nice day it is very breathtaking in a view. I’m sure he appreciated when he was in town to record music.

Statue of Freddie Mercury (Real name: Farrukh Bulsara) was a British singer and songwriter who achieved global fame as the lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen. This statue is a tribute to him and serves as a memory of the days of his life he spent in Montreaux, Switzerland. The location is also stunning alongside Montreaux promenade. Tip: Don't forget to visit his recording studio in Montreaux. Search on google maps: Queen Studio Experience. Entry is free.

The online capacity viewer was a little out of date and we had to wait to get in. Once in, lockers require either a 1 or 2 euro coin which is returned. The changing room is mixed gender with individual booths that are double sided, so you are fighting against people getting out of the pool to use one as well as other people wanting to get in. The pool itself is just a pool with a few jacuzzi like areas, a lazy river and a half pipe style slide. There is also a kiddy area, although I didn't use this. My over arching feeling was that it didn't measure up to its own hype. The pool's one redeeming feature is that they do not enforce the ridiculous French pool rule about men only being allowed to wear the skimpiest of swimsuits!

A great place to spend a few hours. It was warm and clean in the changing rooms with lots of locker space and the complex wasn’t too busy for the first couple of hours of our visit and got busier as the afternoon went on. The water temp inside on a cold day in the main pool was slightly chilly so it’s worth having a towel but a perfect temp in the outside jacuzzi and splash park sections. We drove up from Saint Gervais as day guests on a cold wet day during the Easter holidays and it was the ideal rainy day activity for about 3 hours as we drove up out of the rain into snow and winter wonderland. The half pipe is really fun and the lazy river is great. If there was a big slide or two as well this place would be absolutely perfect. My kids are 8 & 10 and enjoyed trying to crack the climbing wall. When you could get space in the outside jacuzzi that was also a highlight as it began to snow. I would say it’s perfectly suited for toddlers and small kids and a fun activity for a family outing with older kids for an afternoon.

It’s colder than you would like it to be. There are no towels as well, and no private showers, so if you hve something planned for after, allow time to go home first. For 12 euros, walk in (they don’t take bookings) and unlimited time inside, it’s fair, the slide is good fun, there’s a long wait but it’s an extra I wasn’t expecting for. I probably won’t be back, manly cause the temperature is too cold to be enjoyable. It said 31° but I doubt (just saw other reviews complaining about the same)

A nice break from skiing, this pool is perfect for going when the weather is too bad to ski. Some lazy river routes, pools to swim and fun for the kids. There's even an outside jacuzzi. Can be quite busy, the only downside was children throwing snow at each other and splashing in the outside pool with no life guard or parents to tell them to stop - this was quite off-putting so I'm only rating it 4*. Changing rooms ok, a bit small cubicle sizes. Overall ok, it's the only water park pool in the area so I can't be picky.

Great value in the summer when quiet. Almost limitless goes on the u bend slide. Clean, warm and with good water jets.

What an amazing experience if you are feeling stiff and need some tlc pop in the pool and the jet hose help the tiered legs out a treat and the water halfpipe is good fun for all ages highly recommend an afternoon chilling in there

Avoriaz is, without a doubt, the best ski resort we’ve ever been to — and that’s saying a lot after more than 30 years of skiing! Everything is designed for maximum comfort, with ski-in/ski-out access from almost everywhere. The resort is fully pedestrian, which makes getting around incredibly easy and safe. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful, and to our surprise, we haven’t had to queue at all for the chairlifts — even during busy hours. And the snow? Absolutely amazing, even at the very end of the season. We’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending Avoriaz to everyone we know!

This beautiful ski resort is very active in the summer with plenty for the family to stay active. Whether mountain biking, hiking giant games of checkers, chess and tennis plus trampoline. The aquatic center is an excellent family swim . The beautiful French Alps surrounding the town

Great skiing resort. We went over new year so was a bit busy but also great New Years Eve celebrations and midnight fireworks were amazing. All staff we talked to ( in hotel, restaurants, shops etc ) were lovely and friendly. Would recommend for 1st time skiers , families or someone who likes ski fun parks too

Love Avoriaz. It’s like home - a nice friendly place. Resort is great, slopes are fantastic. Its can get overcrowded at vacation time and some places are overpriced but overall its a great place for a skiing holiday. No cars in the resort, only horse-drawn carriages which gives it a special atmosphere, along with the wood-covered buildings which blend into the countryside.

What a lovely ski resort in French Alps. Beautiful place with no cars alowed. By winter, there is a taxi from centre, horse pulled sleigh. They give you a blanket to cover legs, so you could not catch a cold 🙃 I will come back in summer, to see again this paradise!

Lovely and wintery with snow all around in this high altitude snow sure resort. Cars aren't allowed in the town so it's safe to walk around too. A bit artificial in feel though compared with nearby more traditional resorts, partly due to its newness, so this may make it feel less homely and welcoming in the summer. Wonderful in the winter though. Great skiing too.

Truly memorable place, great people (one or two not so good!) totally ski in/ ski out place scenery to die for and something for everyone from the beginners to the more experienced skiers. Bars and restaurants great apart from a certain Italian! Booking our return trip!

Impressive cathedral with wonderful views of the town. A bit of a climb up steps if one takes the wrong route, but in any case well worth a visit. Large, quiet, peaceful, stained glass, statues, carvings, small and unobtrusive gift shop. Not overly commercial, and free to enter, as it should be but in some churches is not. We were here in early July and it was a nice walk along the lake to this museum perched on a small hill in the middle of a lovely park. Please visit the grounds even if you do not step inside the museum. Nice views over the lake and pleasant outdoor Olympic related art and information sprinkled through the outdoor grounds and all of this is free to access. Inside it is a well curated place with lots of information for an Olympics fan. We did it all in about 2 hours. The gift shop is where you buy the entrance tickets. Pro tip: if you do have a ticket and are there during the daytime, you do NOT need a lunch reservation to simply have a drink on their glorious outdoor terrace at the restaurant on the top floor. We just asked the host if we could sit outside for a drink and he enthusiastically said of course! What views!!! Drinks were not cheap but not more expensive than any other restaurant. So if you are curious and didn’t make a lunch reservation, please do stop by and see if you can snag a seat outside. The staff were kind and helpful.

It is obviously a must visit museum if you are in the Olympic capital Lausanne. Everything is very well presented. I particularly love the video clips introducing every Olympic Games through the years, as every clip begins with important events of that year. I’d very much love to finish them all but my schedule doesn’t allow me to. All the collections are inspiring and hold collective memories of people from all over the world, some of which remind me of the days when I was little and watched on TV the Olympic Games with my father. The -1 floor is fun. View of the lake from the terrace of the restaurant is stunning. Free access for Swiss pass holders.

Very nice. We were desperately looking for a clean bathroom that’s also free lol. It’s nice to see the poster of the Beijing Olympic in 2008. Unfortunately we only found the poster card but not many other souvenirs options such as fridge magnet for the Beijing Olympic.

Highlights include a section about art and design of the posters and iconography of the Olympics, as well as a well rounded gift shop with good items at all price ranges

Olympics museum is a must visit place for all Olympic fans. The location is stunning on the shores of lake Geneva in Lausanne. Infrastructure of museum is excellent with free locker rooms for storage. You study entire history of Olympics from its origin in Greece to revival of modern Olympics. There are archives of summer and winter Olympic games, mascots and models of all Olympic torches, Olympic uniforms etc. The museum used excellent multimedia to present everything. There are videos on projector screen which display opening ceremonies of all Olympic seasons. However, Olympics museum has lots of scope for expansion considering its huge space. You can have interactive games like FIFA museum in Zurich. A Hall of Fame can also be made featuring most celebrated Olympians of all times like Michael Phelps. A special section for upcoming Olympics can also be done. Hope to see these updates with passing time. Entry to Olympics museum is free with Swiss Travel Pass.

This museum is located facing Lausanne (Geneva)Lake with a nice park in front and is very well connected through road and metro rail network. It is a fantastic audio visual experience indoor as well out door and must see for tourists. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here and you will cherish it.

We spent there more than 2 hours. Interactive, with plenty of interesting information, surrounded by a nice park, with a great view and even access to a beach. If you are in Lausanne, must visit. Tickets are 20 CHF per person, no needed to buy in advance.

Really well worth a visit, we did it as a rainy day filler but am so glad we did. Was €7.50 euros and food value for money. Highlights for me were the gun emplacement, the spiral staircase and the deep, deep well hole but all of it was good.

We visited Chateau joux by chance, passing it by car and found ourselves in awe of the view. We quickly decided to take a detour and pay the castle a visit. We did not regret our choice at all. The staff is very friendly and even if you dont take a guided tour, guides stand at certain locations giving you explanations if you wish for it. The history, the view and the staff made our visit very worthwhile. If you happen to pass this site, we highly recommend a visit. Just drive up to the castle parking and enjoy your visit!

Exciting castle with interesting history. We went there before the main season, so we had to attend the guided tour in French supported by an English booklet. An OK experience, but we wish we'd understood the French guide who seemed very enthusiastic, and all the French tourists laughed a lot 😂

Big castle, interesting, however many many places closed to the public, everything is French only, many parts only to be visited with a French only tour, limiting the experience even more. It can be beautiful and interesting, but it is too bad it is closed off in so many parts and it is missing the services for non French speakers. Personel in the castle was rude to children (9, 7 and 4) who looked into an open door (cost 1 star).

Very very great castle! And such a Great visit! Very interesting history and good value for money activity. I had no idea what to expect but all the « expectations » were far exceeded! This is a strong recommendation and I give a special dedication to the staff on site. All of the guides, front desk people and even the security guards were exceptional and deserved all of our appreciation. Recommended!

Beautiful castle with rich history. We took a trip with the kids - 8 & 5 - and were able to make our own tour for about an hour and keep them interested along the way.

This is the tourism office where you can request for any information and help that you need. Yvoire is a lovely place and was really a super fun and well spent day. I will highly recommend a visit here. Very beautiful with the cobblestone roads, stone and wood houses with beautiful flowers everywhere. Totally fantastic, a place out of a medieval fairytale!

Beautiful Yvoire, a must see village in France

A city of medieval where wood, stone and flowers meet. You can be lost in the history while you wander in its tiny historical streets. I would like to take pictures of its every single building, gardens and roads. I liked it too much. I highly recommend you to visit this beautiful place.

Yvoire is one of the most beautiful place I've seen around the Leman Lake. The car-free zone is wonderful, with lots of historical buildings.

Dinner with team after congres day. 2 had filets de perche this fish filets were baked with a tartare sauce nothing to have a waw feeling. 1 penne ciocarna ( see picture) also no real wow effect missong of spices and 1 spaghetti fruits de mer seems was ok. white swiss wine could be better. Service 2 people avetage. Thats why give a 3

Really good pizza, I recommend the « jet d’eau pizza » Only bad fact is that the crust was too thin.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating despite a language barrier. I was even given a free salad! Food was some of the best me and my friends have ever had and is well priced. The restaurant atmosphere was incredible as well. We all agreed we would absolutely eat here again 👍

I am travelling for work. Great food and even better people. Seems like a family owned business. I had the pugliese pizza and was amazing. But hey!! Be careful with the spicy oil they offer 🥵very hot

The food was delicious and the waiters really helpful to translate to English for us. They even had a English menu. The place was warm and the pizza oven in the heart of the restaurant. It felt like an authentic Italian family business.

Impressive cathedral in the old town area with lots of period buildings around it. On a bit of a raised area but an easy walk up. Quiet, peaceful, can sit for as long as one likes. Free to enter, as it should be, but is not in some places. Different parts obviously built/added/repaired/rebuilt at different times, which is always interesting. Well worth a visit.

Undoubtedly, this is a majestic cathedral in the heart of Geneva, with stunning Gothic architecture and a historic stone façade. The church is very well preserved, and from its current state, you can almost imagine the grandeur it must have had 1,000 years ago. Inside, the serene atmosphere, detailed sculptures, and beautiful architectural features make it a remarkable place to explore. A must-visit for anyone interested in history or architecture.

Visiting St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva was truly memorable. One of the highlights for me was climbing the 160 steps to the top of the tower. The stairwell is narrow and may be a little intimidating for some, but the effort is completely worth it. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Geneva and the surrounding area—perfect for photography enthusiasts. The cathedral also has a small shop where you can browse a selection of cards and postcards as a memento of your visit. Inside and out, the cathedral offers plenty of opportunities for taking beautiful photos, from its impressive architecture to the breathtaking vistas from the tower. Despite the slightly nerve-wracking climb, it’s an experience I’d highly recommend.

This cathedral is a highlight located in the center of Geneva's old town. The top offers a great view over the city and the lake. I recommend combining a visit with a walk to the beautiful nearby square "Place-Du-Bourg-de-Four" (my favourite place in old town). Take a break there for a snack and a drink. Enjoy!

I always try to visit at least one church during my travels, though sometimes it doesn’t work out. I’m so glad I made it to this cathedral—it was actually one of the reasons I wanted to visit Geneva in the first place. I’d heard about the 157-step spiral staircase, and let’s just say I realized how out of shape I was while climbing it! But I made it, and it was absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful piece of history to experience. The fee to go up is currently at 7chp.

Excellent 360° views of the city, lake & mountains. The stairs were in a very good condition compared to other church towers in Europe. The entrance price was included in our tourist city pass so it's a very much worthwhile visit.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

I took a day trip from Lyon, a great place, I'm sorry I only stayed one day, it's definitely worth 2-3 days! A place not to be missed if you're in the area!

It is a MUST to go, partying, water scakating, swimming and lots of boat cruises around the great lake surrounded by magnificent mountains. 30 min away and your up amongst snowy mountains as early as September.

Beautiful hike and falls. We went on a public holiday, which made it quite busy. Although it was still very enjoyable, would recommend going on a weekday or a regular weekend.

Nice hike yet quite a lot of people on the “main route”. Keep you eyes on the map when leaving the waterfall route for a longer hike, a wrong left turn might turn into a loooong walk….

Very nice place for walk and kids hangout. Remember there is one parking above and then you walk down, another parking is down and you walk up. If you are with kids preferably go to parking down. Feb 2024

Quite crowded but not without reason. Several lathe and small waterfalls can be viewed and experienced from a will maintained path. Though mostly easy to walk with stairs were needed, it can be sometimes a bit steep and slippery. Because there is only one trail along the river and the trail at points only allows one person, when crowded it is easily jammed. Don't forget to bring some food and drinks with you if you venture past the first waterfall. There is plenty of parking space (paid).

Beautiful waterfalls and walk...would definately recommend it for a day trip. It could be quite difficult to walk parts of the route if you had limited mobility as there are many steps and slippery rocks but you can choose how far you walk. On the route we took I couldn't see any restrooms or restaurants which were open unfortunately

Nice cascade. Unfortunately, it was almost dry because of the hot summer. -2 stars because of the parking lot for which you have to pay (5 euro 1h). The first 20 minutes are free, but it is almost impossible (without running) in that timeslot to walk to the waterfall and back

Absolutely stunning waterfalls. Make sure you wear good footwear with a lot of grip as it's quite slippy in places. Also it's best not to go off on the longer walk in the forest without a map as it is really easy to get lost! There are multiple paths and they are not sign posted once you get away from the main walk along the gorge with the waterfalls.

A great place to enjoy nature! It’s comfortable even on very hot days thanks to the plenty of shade and the cool breeze from the river. The trail is easy and suitable for all levels..

This was a fun walk, wear sensible foot wear - mostly so you don't loose your treasured flip flop into the torrent below! It's not expensive and it's pretty spectacular. Not challenging (unless you're not keen on high suspended walk ways over gorges and rapids!). Can be quite busy and parts get congested and require you wait for your turn to pass.

Absolutely stunning natural gorge open for 156 years. The footbridge was nicely build since than but with upgrades of course. For non adventurous peraon like me, it's scary to walk on the footbridge but definitely worth going here. Recommend to wear anti-slip shoes and bring less things with you. Ticket is at €6

Absolutely beautiful! Definitely worth the, in my opinion, small entry fee (€6,-). A nice walk through a steep and interestingly shaped gorge, where a narrow deck/bridge, suspended from the side of the wall, takes you along and above the flowing waters at the bottom of the crevices. For most of the route, the walkway is halfway between the top and bottom of the gorge, which gives a impressive view of the worn out stone and swirling river below. Near the end of the route, the walls open up and you get a view from just above the gorge. Looking down, there are many, massive blocks of stone that have sheared of the very walls you're standing on and have tumbled down into the waters. All in all a very impressive sight.

A truly magical place. I returned after two years and it didn't disappoint at all. Ps. look for the magic of the place, faces and creatures can hide in every stone ;)

We had an amazing day there! We stayed in Annecy for a few days, without a car, and decided to go there by public transportation. It took around 1 hour by bus and we had to walk 20min (not an easy path, it was a steep descent which we had to go up after). The experience in Gorges du Fier worth the work to get there, the place is beautiful and it was not full of people, which made our pictures look so nice! There’s a small shop, bar and toilets before entering the park. Our card didn’t work to buy tickets so we paid with cash, keep this in mind because there’s no ATM there. I definitely recommend this visit! It’s totally possible with public transportation and walk but it’s easier by car! ☺️
