We traveled with our colleagues to the Champagne region to visit its most famous champagne houses. The tour took us through an exclusive exhibition, then we descended into the cellar to be in the heart of the history of this winery, walked through dimly lit corridors with amazing stories from our guide and went out to the garden to continue listening to our guide already with a glass of beautiful champagne 🥂 Cheers

Hugo was a terrific guide—professional, kind, and decisive in keeping the tour moving. The Signature Tour offered a clear overview of the champagne making process for novices as well as detailed information so everyone could learn something. The caves and tasting room were unforgettable and well worth the price, though I could have skipped (or shortened) the special exhibit at the beginning of the tour. A memorable Moët & Chandon experience! 🥂🍾

Waw! Impressed by the ambassador Mrs Violetta who was in charge of the guided visit ‘Signature’ tour that we participated today. It’s impressive to be in the elegant estate, to discover the history of Moët & Chandon and to walk through the huge network of underground cellars. The tasting is sophisticated and very good organized.
Layla A — Google review
Loved this tour! The guide was super friendly and explained the champagne-making process in a fun, easy-to-follow way. Walking through the massive underground cellars was such a cool experience — you really get a sense of the history and scale behind Moët & Chandon. The tasting at the end was the perfect finish. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Épernay! 🍾

Wonderful vintage tour at Moët & Chandon. Marie Filomene Martins was an outstanding guide—warm, engaging, and full of insight. The history, the art, and the stunning cellars made the visit unforgettable. Everything felt polished and beautifully presented. Our tasting of Dom Pérignon 2015 was the perfect finale.
Enrique V — Google review
We visited Moët & Chandon in July 2025 as part of our anniversary celebration and were captivated by the history, elegance, and craftsmanship behind every bottle. The cellar tour was immersive and educational, the champagne tasting exceptional, and the gracious hospitality of the staff made it a truly unforgettable experience.

Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Reims

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Reims is an impressive 13th-century Gothic cathedral featuring twin towers and intricate stained glass windows. Along with the nearby Archbishop's Palace, known as Tau Palace, it is recognized by UNESCO for its architectural and historical significance. The cathedral has undergone extensive restoration after being damaged during World War I.
What is it about the majority of the large towns and cities in the UK. You have so many restrictions. You can’t drive into places with the many traffic restrictions zones and parking costs an arm and a leg. (The ULEZ & LEZ’s have nothing to do with saving the planet, just another Tax!) I’ve just driven into the centre of Reims in France (No traffic queues (This was on a Saturday!) to visit the most wonderful Notra-Dame Cathedral, parked my car less than 10 minutes walk without any congestion or issues ( yes I had to get a Crit’Air sticker for my car… cost less than £5! for the year). We parked for over 2.5 hrs in the centre of Remus and visited the beautiful Cathedral which has no cost to enter! The next most amazing thing was the cost of the parking. €0.30! Yes that right. Less than £0.30p. In the uk you probably would be queuing for an hour and if you were lucky to find parking it would be around £15 for a couple of hours. I’m proud to be British but the government don’t want to you to do or go anywhere and everyone is trying to squeeze every penny out of you. I recommend a visit to this lovely cosmopolitan city that has wonderful architecture and many other ‘ attractions’ you can also park for 24hrs for €4.00. Enjoy. Well worth it.

Historical & Legendary Cathedral This is one of the oldest Cathedrals in the world. It witnessed the crowning of Kings in the Middle Ages and was always an amazing beacon of faith for the Catholic Church. It is currently ongoing a bit of renovation but still looks fabulous. If you come to Reims you will see the Cathedral it is the absolute one and only building you need to see visit. We were also very impressed by the inside the ceilings are so high that they give you this feeling of Grandness- ABSOLUTE must see !
Paul V — Google review
Extremely beautiful church! Huge and with nice information inside! They have a shop as well as some brochures for more information. It is a must for people interested in French history and Gothic architecture. You cannot miss the Marc Chagall's piece of art!
Cristian C — Google review
A true masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the Cathédrale de Reims captivates visitors with its soaring spires, intricate stone carvings, and breathtaking façade. Inside, sunlight streams through stained-glass windows of multiple colors and designs, casting vibrant patterns that tell stories from history and scripture. Every corner reveals centuries of craftsmanship, from the delicate arches to the detailed sculptures. Whether you are drawn to architecture, art, or history, the cathedral offers an unforgettable experience where light, color, and stone come together in perfect harmony.

We did the roof tour. Nine euro each and very easy to book on their website. 249 steps with no stopping places so be prepared for a hike. Our tour was in French but he did a little bit in English for us. Some surprises up there which I won't spoil
Devrah M — Google review
The beauty and grandeur of this cathedral cannot be conveyed in words. It is here that you can feel the power of this place. Here you will feel all the energy of centuries. It was here that 31 kings were crowned. A majestic cathedral.
Olena — Google review
Notre Dame was the most stunning cathedral that I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. It was beautiful inside and fill with relics and beautiful artworks. It was an awesome experience. If you ever have the chance to see go there do so.
Kevin M — Google review
One of the most beautiful cathedrals in France. It was built in the Gothic style and is truly a masterpiece of architecture. The exterior is incredibly detailed, with stunning sculptures and tall towers that immediately catch your eye. Inside, the high ceilings, colorful stained-glass windows, and peaceful atmosphere make the experience unforgettable. It’s amazing to think how much history this place holds — it was the traditional site for the coronation of French kings. The best part is that entry is free, so it’s definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, or just looking for a breathtaking place to explore. Highly recommended!

Nestled just a stone's throw from the stunning Reims Cathedral, the Vranken Pommery domain is a must-visit for any champagne enthusiast. This enchanting estate, built in the 19th century by Madame Pommery, boasts an impressive Elizabethan style and offers visitors a unique glimpse into the world of champagne production.
More a museum than a winery, its a unique way to experience the champagne. We reserved a ticket a few weeks in advance, which actually allowed us to go whenever during that day. You enter and are free to wander on your own. Make sure to visit the cellar, as its one big museum. The champagne tasting area is self service, kind of strange. But its a great concept.
Paul H — Google review
We had a guided tour here. It was very informative and really enjoyable. The tour ended with a chilled glass of champagne. Top tip, take a long sleeved top as it will be 10 degrees Celsius in the caves and you will be in there for an hour 🥶
Jason D — Google review
Loved the experience. My mom does not speak English or French, however the self -guided tour was available in German. At the entrance you can collect papers to explain the different stops of the tour. The art and installations bring you into a world, which goes beyond champagne. Definitely a must see! Only downside was that I contacted the service twice via e-mail and never got any response. So, customer service and communication upfront the visit could be improved.
Natalie O — Google review
Fun experience! 🎉 bought a tasting ticket for a glass of champagne—you can enjoy it either before or after the tour. Then you walk through the champagne cellars, which are filled with the names of different cities. The whole vibe feels a lot like wandering through an art exhibition in the cave town full of champagne bottles 🥂✨

Step beneath the city of Reims into the spellbinding Caves Pommery, where art and champagne meet beneath vaulted chalk tunnels. The vast underground galleries, once ancient quarries, now house thousands of resting bottles illuminated by soft golden light. Modern art installations blend seamlessly with centuries of heritage, creating a one-of-a-kind sensory journey. From the refined Brut Royal to the elegant Cuvée Louise, every tasting celebrates grace, craftsmanship, and history. A visit to Pommery is more than a tour — it’s an immersion into the soul of 🍾🍾🍾
Bhuti S — Google review
【Quick Summary】An exploration of vast underground cellars where art and history intersect! Experience the dynamic world of a major Champagne house. 【Purpose of Visit】Recommended for anyone from beginners to advanced Champagne lovers who want to enjoy large-scale cellars and unique art exhibits. ✅ Experience (Tour & Tasting) The grounds, buildings, and the expansive underground cellars (caves) are incredibly vast, and the tour was highly engaging. A standout feature was that the tour wasn't merely a storage cellar visit; colorful lighting and contemporary art objects were placed throughout. It felt like walking through a subterranean art museum, allowing us to fully appreciate the unique and dynamic world of Veuve Pommery. We also found special cellar plates for places like Kyoto and the Hotel Okura in Tokyo on the cellar walls, which was a fun discovery and a reminder of the house's connection to Japan. We visited without a prior reservation, and it was fortunate that we were able to join a tour at a good timing. A Champagne tasting followed the tour. Although the Champagne was delicious, since major houses' bottles are generally available at stable prices worldwide, we decided not to purchase souvenirs on this occasion. ✅ Environment (Atmosphere & Facilities) The stairs and tunnels leading down to the cellars are illuminated with colorful lighting, creating a mysterious and fantastical atmosphere. The vast space features a unique blend of history and art, with carvings on the old stone walls and the display of a massive wooden cask. ✅ Final Thoughts This is a distinctive house experience where the historical scale of the Champagne region's cellars merges with modern art. If you have the time, this is certainly a spot worth visiting.

Huge Champagne House with a rich history. The tour itself was fun and they have a lot of elements, many of which a little bit kitschy but fun. The tour guide was very nice and spoke great english, providing a lot of interesting information about the history of Pommery. They are a little bit crazy, but in a good way. There is a slight smell of wine everywhere in the establishment.

Absolutely stunning. This is incredibly beautiful. The artwork is everything and it’s like a wonderland. Then your at a UNESCO Hertiage site. We did the gastro tour and it was such good value. I see some reviews annoyed they booked in French I had no problem with booking as it does clearly say the language on the site before you book.

A must visit in the area, particularly if you are interested in any kind of military history. The Fort itself saw action in the 1940 German offensive and the heroic and tragic last stand of the Company that held it is particularly poignant

Excellent site to discover the Maginot Line. The guided tour lasts 2 hours, and the guide proved to possess a wealth of very interesting information.
Cezar N — Google review
Amazing museum, definitely worth a visit! Clear remnants of battle and an amazing fully original interior with kitchen, diesel generators (the generators were quite peculiar, very intriguing) and weapons. Very sad but true story about the 107 men who died there defending their country. As per Fallout 4 (video game): "War... War never changes" With these uncertain times going on in the world right now it's definitely worth it to reflect on historical events such as these! Keep in mind that english tours are only for groups of 15+ people.

An amazing part of the Maginot line where the defenders held till their last. We stumbled upon driving from bouillon to stennay and what a find it was. The cemetery which contains the defenders is across the road from the memorial adjoined to the Fort.

We had an amazing experience at fort de la ferté. We got there with the Tucker Tour and had a 2 hour long private tour with tour guide and fort expert Roger. What an amazing tour guide he was! The fort itself is very impressive and is in the same state where the Germans left it after capturing it, but the explanations of Roger made it even better. He was so full of excitement and really was passionate about the fort and everything around it. The tour was two hours and every aspect about the fort was explained well en clearly. There was a lot of room to ask questions and since the fort was not tidied up or renewed, it was a really immersive experience that really lets you feel what the soldiers in the fort felt. We want to thank Roger for making this an amazing experience and he should really get all the recognition there is. Furthermore the fort and the museum is an excellent depiction of the maginot line and is well worth the money!

Underground citadel of Verdun

Mentioned on
10 lists
War museum
Museums
The Underground Citadel of Verdun is a remarkable historical site that dates back to the late 1800s, originally constructed as a fortified military base under King Henry II and later enhanced by King Louis XIV. This extensive network of tunnels served as barracks and rest areas for soldiers during World War I, making it an essential part of the war effort. Visitors can embark on an engaging virtual reality tour that transports them into the lives of French soldiers who once traversed these very passages.
A modern front for an old historic Fort, a secure place during the war, We were able to walk in without booking, you can veiw a brief visual history whilst waiting to go through the turnstile, 10 persons at a time, short wait then 10 more. The Fort is nice and dry, but quite cool so take a jacket/fleece. You will sat in a cart, given a hair net and the staff will place an audio/visual helmet on (smaller than a cycle one), then you follow behind the soldiers inside the Fort, its impressive, staff very helpful if needed. Your not allowed photos on the cart, but there are locations as you leave, we'll worth it.
Rian G — Google review
Take a jacket. It's very cold in the tunnels. A sobering experience of WW1 sitting on an electric vehicle for 4, for 35 mins with 3D goggles. I had difficulty with my goggles but otherwise this and the musemm over the road made for a great insight of history. Audio was in English French German.
Joanne C — Google review
This is an augmented reality experience. You will be on a small cart with AR glasses and follow french soldiers through their short stay at the citadel. You get to visit the living quarters, the kitchens, dining room, etc... Very informative! It does get cold, so I could recommend having a small sweater for comfort. Try to buy tickets in advance because it can get full pretty quickly.
Elliot D — Google review
I am so sorry to say we had a horrible experience at the Citadel. I’ve done this visit in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the new system with the virtual reality goggles is a mess. The employees struggled to get the system to work and we had to wait over 30 minutes in the cold while they attempted to repair several carts. Once we were finally able to get a cart, we were fitted with our uncomfortable goggles. The sound was horrible, very loud, and my daughters made a loud noise about halfway through and then just stopped working. The idea seems good, but it’s a complete waste. When we spoke to the employee as we were removing our goggles to explain the problems, he suggested we ask for a reimbursement at the front desk. However, the employees at the exit were not helpful, avoided speaking to us and seemed to be tired of hearing all of the complaints. Very frustrating and disappointing for an experience that has such great potential. Don’t waste your money!
Tamara L — Google review
It was a nice 3D experience, very creative use of the galleries in the citadel. A little bit of a disappointment that the citadel itself on top was closed because of renovations.
Niels M — Google review
Mini train tour through the old tunnels whilst a 3D audio visual of the soldiers life within the WW1 fortress plays out from the headset.
Michael S — Google review
You are greeted with a fantastic entrance, statues and a very clean entrance building, inside you are going to emerse yourself back into WW1, seated on an autonomous vehicle with a hologram headset on. You will be guided through the tunnels while enjoying the history the city of verdun hold during WW1
Ryan B — Google review
The first thing that impresses you about The Citadel is the size of it. Approaching the visitor entrance on foot allows you to see the walls close up and the construction of these was a colossal undertaking. During the 1914-1918 World War, Verdun (The Citadel) became the symbol of France's stand against Germany. During this conflict equal numbers of French and German soldiers died. Verdun remained in French hands despite the battle being one of the longest during WWI. The visitor experience of The Citadel is from the perspective of three soldiers arriving at The Citadel and then going back to fight again. After buying your ticket (no concessions) for €15 you walk into The Citadel and open a large door to a dark world. Lighting guides you forward to a station where you are given a disposable hair cover and step into a small buggy where you are then equipped with rudimentary VR headsets. The Citadel is like a cave and the ambient temperature is cold so make sure you bring something warm to wear. From this point your exploration of the tunnels in The Citadel is in the guided buggy with audio in your own language and film overlaid (using the VR headset) on the illuminated walls of The Citadel. Sound and film recreate the experience of the soldiers and illustrate what life underground must have been like. The billets, bakery and medical services feature in their experience. The commentary explains details of the importance of the site to France and the recognition and respect paid by the allies at that time. This guided experience takes around 30 minutes and you arrive at another 'station' where you leave the darkness and proceed on foot exploring the mess hall and other tunnels before stepping back out into the sunlit walkway past a restored section or the exterior wall. After a few interactive displays you find yourself at the end of the tour in the gift shop. The Citadel is without question impressive and the human endeavour that has led to its construction cannot be underestimated. To have been here during WWI would have been a respite from the horrors of battle or a life underground supporting others. Whilst the guided tour was interesting and brought the experience of a few here to life, it would have been good to physically walk around more of the tunnels and seen more of the remaining artifacts in place. Overall an interesting place to visit. An experience rather than a museum, probably best as a starting point before visiting other historical sites in the area. Use of technology could be improved as this type of application develops quickly and the AR seems dated. We visited late afternoon (about 16.00) and there were very few people around - just two of us in our buggy (max 5). Check opening times and be aware that coach trips come here so it will get busy on occasions.

Fort Douaumont

Mentioned on

Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Fort Douaumont, a late 19th-century fort, played a significant role in the WWI Battle of Verdun. It is located near a German cemetery and offers guided tours. The fort's fall on February 25 led to increased pressure on the nearby area of Fleury. Visitors describe the surroundings as peaceful with bird sounds and beautiful landscapes. The fort's exterior features grass mounds, stonework, doorways, and rusted metal domes hinting at its underground structure.
Step back into WWI. What they built and how they lived and survived the constant artillery to defend Verdun is amazing. Nothing in the books equates to walking the underground structure. Massive... just crazy the caliber of underground construction they constructed over a century ago.

Must visit area if you're ever in Verdun. Douaumont is a well maintained fort knowing it's history. The route through the fort is confusing and the directions don't really help you. It causes you to get lost in the vast catacombs and slippery walkways. Try to follow the signs and you'll be alright but you will miss a lot of information.
Dirk G — Google review
Amazing tour. Well worth the 5 Euros. To get an audio guide it takes about an hour to go through. Has a lot of detail and very interesting stories. There are some blocked off sections of course but you can explore down pretty deep into it
Grant C — Google review
Great experience by walking around the bunkers of the war time. Took around 30 minutes visiting the bunkers. The guided audio handset was useful. You can spend for time around the fort as well.
Imran R — Google review
This fort, built in the 1890s, was the largest of a system of forts that were to protect Verdun against a German invasion. But it was poorly manned and taken by a small number of German troops without a fight in 1916. It became very useful to the Germans as a headquarters, supply center and a shelter just behind their front line. This loss may have cost France over 100,000 troops. In the next few years, France lost thousands of troops trying to recapture the fort. There are trenches all around and in the area of this fort. They are over grown but are easy to see and follow. It is hard to believe that 300,000 troops were lost during the battle of Verdun. There is plenty of parking and the entrance fee is very modest.
Mike Z — Google review
An excellent place to visit, the staff were very helpful and the audio guide explained the and significance of the fort, as well as detailing what it was like in the fort during combat. Well worth a visit
Hywel J — Google review
I climbed over the hills. I climbed into the fort. The entrance is by the South side, which was pounded by the French in their wrath. If you can climb over the fortress, and walk to the other side, you can see the way the Germans came in Feb 1916. This place is living history. Never forget what happened here. Important...bring a coat!

Great audioguided tour inside the fortress to help and understand the living conditions in here. Amazing and mind blowing landscape surrounding and on top of the fortress.

Place Stanislas is a stunning neoclassical square in Nancy, France, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by Emmanuel Here in the 1750s, this grand space is named after the enlightened Duke of Lorraine and features his statue at its center. Surrounded by elegant 18th-century buildings like the Opera National de Lorraine and the City Hall, visitors can admire exquisite gilded gates crafted by Jean Lamour and beautiful rococo fountains designed by Guibal.
A truly impressive square with royal charm! Place Stanislas in Nancy is an architectural gem – spacious, elegant, and full of history. The golden gates, fountains, and classical buildings create a grand and welcoming atmosphere. Cafés, museums, and the town hall are located right on the square – a perfect place to soak in the charm of Nancy. Some buildings around the square are currently under renovation, but this doesn’t take away from the overall experience. A must-see when visiting Nancy!

Really loved it. A mix of French and Polish baroque. The place and the surrounding garden was really friendly. We saw a dancefloor in the middle of the gardens, behind a really nice cafe. All the locals young and old swinging to the music. Magical.

I visited Place Stanislas today and was completely charmed. The golden gates, elegant facades, and lively atmosphere made it feel like walking through a fairytale from the old times. It felt peaceful and inviting I took a break by the Neptune fountain, enjoying the breeze and the sound of water — such a calming moment in the middle of the city. This place isn’t just beautiful; it has soul. I’m truly grateful I got to experience it.

Park
Parc de la Pépinière, also known as La Pep by locals, is a lush 21-hectare park nestled in the heart of Nancy's historic center. Originally a royal nursery established by Stanislas, it was transformed into a public park in 1835 while preserving its original layout. The park features wooded areas, a stunning rose garden, and a grid of alleys flanked by flowerbeds and statues including one by Auguste Rodin.
A beautiful and peaceful park in the heart of Nancy, with lots of shadow and green light. Perfect for walking, relaxing, or enjoying a picnic. There’s also delicious food available, a lovely rose garden, and a small animal park – great for all ages and a true highlight of the city!
Rayna — Google review
Located in the centre of Nancy next to Place Stanislas, the Pépinière park is a wonderful green place for families and couples. It has a rose garden, a mini zoo where peacocks freely wander around, a great playground, sports field, merry-go-round and children's rides. It also has a small cafe and ice cream stand. There are many floral displays, also wooden architecture exhibitions and beautiful paths with ancient and exotic trees for a stroll. Magnificent and calming place.!

Zoo d'Amnéville is a captivating independent zoo that houses approximately 2,000 animals from five continents. The zoo offers unique attractions such as the medieval-style falconry show and various themed areas like the African plain where elephants, white rhinoceroses, giraffes, zebras, and other species coexist. Visitors can also explore the lush Amazon Jungle with its diverse wildlife and a stunning 9-meter waterfall.
Great zoo, beautiful setting and lots of animals. Great parking and accessibility. Really beautiful place to go with or without children. The only thing to be aware of is that most restaurants inside seems to be closed, so you will only be able to buy anything to eat or drink in a few places. Not ideal and not many options available. That being said, it is amazing overall.
Hugo M — Google review
Very nice zoo. A lot of different cats species, which i love. There are two shows, birds of prey and sea lions. Both are good, especially the birds of prey. Free parking is nice. The toilets could be better.
Wim O — Google review
Super place, if weather is ok, and you have children - this is kind of place which you can spent whole day and it will not be enough! I was thinking what are the tickets for 2 days and yearly access to zoo?! And being there for 5h we saw 50% of all attractions prepared for visitors. Bad for Animals but perfect for visitors is that places for animals are not enormous- so you are able to see cats, wolfs, birds and any kind of animals. It’s a balance between safe place and attractions for visitors. HIGLY RECOMMENDED
Kamil N — Google review
We had a great experience visiting Zoo Amnéville! There are so many animals to see — lions, tigers, polar bears, rhinos, hippos, and many more. It was amazing to watch them all from such a close distance. This was the first time I’ve seen a lion so close, and it was truly an exciting experience for all of us. We really enjoyed our visit and appreciated how well the animals are cared for. It’s a wonderful place for families and animal lovers — highly recommended!
Mohamed M — Google review
Amazing zoo, beautiful animals and very touchy. I was hugging a goat at one point lol. I would also touch more animals if I wasn't that scared lmao. 8/10 (wish it was less expensive, for two adults and one child we payed 100 euro, but if they need money to keep the animals healthy then I don't really mind)
Pol I — Google review
The zoo was a delightful experience, offering a diverse array of animals, and our visit lasted approximately five hours. Regrettably, we were unable to observe some of the animals, as they were taking shelter. The animals appeared quite relaxed, possibly due to the warm weather. We were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the red panda. The Jurassic section proved to be particularly enjoyable for the children. While I cannot comment on the quality of the park's food, as we did not purchase any based on recommendations from friends and other reviews, it is worth noting that some areas of the park could be cleaner, and the presence of standing water in certain locations resulted in an unpleasant odor. Nevertheless, it is certainly a worthwhile destination if you happen to be in the vicinity.
Matvii G — Google review
I have an annual pass and it has been such fun to visit the zoo at different times of the year! It’s very kids friendly . Great place to take kids out, short walk or a full-day out. My baby likes observing all the animals. We watched polar bear Henk and Akoia fighting, a vulture trying to open our bag during his performance , kids feeding giraffes leaves, gorillas climbing up the to get bananas, penguins chasing a butterfly… many cherished moments. The staffs are always friendly. Hope there would be more different animations. Will renew the pass definitely.
Lulu Y — Google review
Great park, a lot of animals. Make sure to take foods with you (especially if you have allergies) because food places closes at 14h. After that only icecream available. It’s better to start as early as possible, as we arrived at 12h at it was just enough time to see everything (we were 4 adults, so we were walking pretty fast everywhere). Animals look pretty looked after, in between areas there are enough benches, rubbish bins, toilets. Would come back again in future.

Metz Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks
Metz Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Stephen, is a breathtaking Gothic masterpiece nestled in Metz, France. This architectural gem was constructed over several centuries, from the 13th to the 16th century, showcasing a captivating blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Its most striking feature is its vast array of stained glass windows that span an astonishing 6,500 square meters—making it one of the largest collections in any church across France.
One of the most beautiful cathedrals I’ve ever visited. The stained glass windows are incredible, especially the ones by Chagall – they really stand out. The cathedral is huge and full of light, and you can feel the history as soon as you walk in. It’s free to enter, which is great, and it’s right in the centre of Metz so it’s easy to visit while walking around the old town. Definitely worth seeing if you’re in Metz, even just to sit inside for a few minutes and take in the atmosphere.
Kinan R — Google review
One of the most amazing cathedrals in France! When you stand in front of Metz Cathedral, you feel small and full of wonder. The golden stone shines in the sun, and the tall towers seem to touch the sky. Inside, the light is mystical. The stained-glass windows are not only from the Middle Ages but also modern, even by Chagall. They make the walls look alive with colors. It has the highest nave in France (41 meters), higher than Notre-Dame in Paris. It is called the “Lantern of God” because of more than 6,000 m² of stained glass.People say that at sunset, the golden stone creates an atmosphere that feels almost supernatural. This place is not just history. It is an experience. If you visit Metz, you cannot miss it.
Kseniia M — Google review
Walking into Metz Cathedral - if you’re not exactly used to walking into thousand year old cathedrals - will leave you speechless, overwhelmed, and possibly teary eyed. It’s an astonishing edifice and on a sunny day the interior dances and glimmers with light and colour from the 1000s of panes of glass. You also have to appreciate and respect that this building is in active and daily use, so please - please - remain silent as you slowly wander the perimeter to marvel at the wonder of just how this building came to be, and the architectural miracle it is.
Greg M — Google review
We visited the Metz Cathedral with a specific goal — to see the stained glass windows created by Marc Chagall, since Chagall was our compatriot, also from Belarus. The cathedral itself is magnificent, and the stained glass windows are absolutely mesmerizing. The light filtering through the colorful glass creates a magical effect — the patterns and colors evoke feelings that are simply beyond words. We couldn’t imagine anything that could make the experience even better, but while we were there, an organ concert began, and it turned the visit into something truly unforgettable. The combination of the music, the stained glass, and the atmosphere was enchanting. Since it all happened during the Christmas markets and holiday season, it became one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring experiences we’ve ever had.
Maryna K — Google review
Incredible cathedral in size, artistry, detail, and use of colors! Huge volume of space under immensely high ceilings and arches! Photos and video really don't do it justice.. The audio echoes and booms here. The richness of the murals, paintings, stained glass, and sculptures are mind-blowing! Definitely a must-see! No entrance fee, though parking is not free and space is limited. Public restrooms are across the street and are free, though not very clean; while there are urinals, there are no toilets, just holes in the ground.
Brian B — Google review
It is very beautiful from the outside, but much more beautiful inside! This is one of the tallest, most beautiful and majestic cathedrals I have ever seen. If not the most! Its stained glass windows are simply incomparable. In such a place you feel some elusive magic, especially with the sounds of the organ.
Aliaksei A — Google review
Top 5 of stained glasses I've ever seen in 26 countries (I am french btw). Breathtaking, original with multiple styles, you definitely have to visit this cathedral in France if you love stained glasses!
Myriem L — Google review
The Metz Cathedral is absolutely stunning. Its Gothic architecture and level of detail make it one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. Inside, the enormous stained-glass windows — some of the largest in the world — create a magical atmosphere with the natural light. Walking through feels like a journey through history, with glasswork ranging from the 13th century to modern pieces by artists like Marc Chagall. The exterior is just as impressive, with intricate sculptures and an imposing presence right in the heart of the city. Take your time to explore every detail, and if possible, join a guided tour to fully appreciate its history and symbolism. Definitely a must-see when visiting Metz.

The Centre Pompidou-Metz, a modern arts center located in Metz, is a futuristic building with an undulating roof designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. It is a satellite branch of the Pompidou Centre in Paris and features ambitious temporary exhibitions from Europe's largest modern-art collection. The center hosts cultural events, talks, and youth projects, making it a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts.
Centre Pompidou-Metz is a really cool spot in Metz with some unforgettable architecture—like the entrance that looks kinda like 😂, which made me chuckle. Inside, the art is just as interesting. My favorite was this elephant sculpture wrapped in white cloth—it was super striking. There wasn’t one main theme that grabbed me, but there was a good mix of contemporary art to check out. The staff were nice, and I liked that all the art info was in both English and French, which helps tourists a lot. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and family, especially if they’re into art. The unique building, varied exhibits, and friendly vibe make it worth a visit.
Krunal T — Google review
Definitely an amazing place! The architecture of the space is charming and makes the visit feel special. The artworks are interesting, modern, and very diverse. However, some of the pieces deal with sensitive topics in a very visual and direct way and I believe they should be labeled with a trigger warning. It’s not always suitable for sensitive audiences. Still, it’s a unique experience…
Sabina C — Google review
The art will make you angry (it’s a banana. Taped to the wall ffs.) but you know what? Good art should make you feel something, and there’s some very very good art here. Of course there is. The building itself is a breathtaking masterpiece as well, with well laid out and inventive gallery spaces, and all the amenities and accoutrements you’d expect from a world class institution. Excellent restaurant. Clean washrooms. And you didn’t hear it from me, but if you’re stuck for luggage storage waiting for your train, you can walk right in and store your bags for a euro. And you don’t even have to go into the museum ! Just go - it’s one of Metz’s main attractions.
Greg M — Google review
The architecture of the Centre Pompidou alone is worth the visit – bold, elegant, and full of light. I explored two unforgettable exhibitions: Maurizio Cattelan’s ironic, provocative works and Marina Abramović’s participative experience “Counting the Rise.” Although I didn’t have enough time to take part in the participatory tasks set up in Abramović’s exhibition space, I still found the concept inspiring and thought-provoking. The atmosphere invites deep reflection and engagement with the human experience. In addition, on the second floor, visitors can discover works by over 40 international contemporary artists – a diverse and fascinating collection that adds even more depth and colour to the visit. You should definitely plan to spend a few hours or more to fully appreciate everything. An inspiring blend of architecture, performance, and contemporary art – highly recommended!
Rayna — Google review
The Metz outpost of the famous Parisian contemporary art museum does not disappoint! The architecture is interesting and the exhibits are first class. The museum wasn't too busy either, which was rather nice. The kids very much enjoyed the museum as well, especially the temporary Maurizio Catellan exhibit. We found the staff to be friendly. Very highly recommended!
Roel F — Google review
It was so much fun to explore, and the architecture was even more captivating from the inside. The wooden construction was truly impressive. Looking at the artworks inside was really enjoyable. Entry was free for those under 26, and the regular ticket cost €14.

This branch of the Pompidou modern art museum in Paris was opened in 2010. It is much more manageable than the main branch in Paris and the art is absolutely amazing. A 20 minute walk from the historic center of Metz. Or take the MA or MB bus using the ticket machines at most major stops. Highly recommend a 2-3 hour visit.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame is a Catholic cathedral in Luxembourg, built between 1613 and 1621 by the Jesuit religious order. The cathedral showcases a mix of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance styles. Visitors can admire the wood carvings, sculptures, and stained glass inside. The Baroque-inspired north gate is particularly striking.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re religious or not — visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg is a must. Its architecture is truly unique, with different parts built by various countries over time. There’s a lot to see and to discover inside, and on Saturdays, you can also enjoy organ concerts and immerse yourself in the music. ♥️♥️♥️

Heavenly! The stained glass was gorgeous! The morning sunlight filled the church with jeweled toned colors! The organ music was richer than any I had ever heard! I don't know if it was the organ or the organist or the acoustics or all three together, but the sound was divine! The priest was dressed in exquisite vestments and sang like it was a concert performance! If Jesus would have returned at the end of the service, I would not have been surprised!
Rob E — Google review
I visited Notre-Dame after it was suggested by TripAdvisor, and I’m so glad I followed that tip — it truly felt like one of the highlights of my time in Luxembourg. Tucked into the city in a way that still feels central, the church manages to be both grand and incredibly intimate. From the moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere encouraged slow breathing and quiet observation. The soft light moving across the stonework and through the stained glass made everything feel gentle and peaceful, like time had softened its edges for a little while. The volunteers and staff were warm and welcoming without being intrusive, offering a short, friendly introduction that gave helpful context without rushing the experience. There are lovely little corners perfect for sitting and collecting your thoughts, and I found myself lingering longer than planned simply because it felt so restorative. The combination of soothing architecture and a calm, respectful hum of low conversation made it an ideal place to recharge between more bustling sightseeing stops. I particularly enjoyed watching how the light changed as the afternoon moved on — it gave the interior a new mood every few minutes, and made my short visit feel quietly cinematic. Afterward I wandered to a nearby café and carried that sense of calm with me for the rest of the day. If you’re looking for a relaxing cultural break, whether you’re into architecture, reflective moments, or gentle music (they sometimes have short recitals that add a beautiful soundtrack to the space), Notre-Dame is a wonderful pick. Tip: go earlier in the day for the best light and a quieter vibe. Overall, this was a serene and friendly experience — the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe, and appreciate the slower moments of travel. Highly recommended.

I visited Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg on Christmas Eve, and the atmosphere was truly unforgettable. The entire cathedral was glowing with warm candlelight and soft golden tones, filled with the sound of carols and quiet prayer. There was a sense of peace and reverence that made the evening feel sacred, even for someone just passing through. The soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and the gentle murmur of people gathering in silence made it one of the most emotional travel moments I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t just beautiful — it felt meaningful. A place where stillness meets spirit.

I visited the Cathédrale Notre-Dame in Luxembourg, and it was such a peaceful and beautiful place. The architecture is truly stunning — every corner has amazing details. Inside, the atmosphere feels calm and spiritual, even if you’re not religious. I loved the stained-glass windows; they look magical when sunlight shines through. It’s also very clean and well maintained. A must-visit place if you’re in Luxembourg City — full of history, art, and quiet charm

A really beautiful cathedral in the centre of Luxembourg City. The architecture is impressive from the outside with its tall towers and detailed design, and inside it feels very peaceful and spiritual. The stained glass windows are amazing, especially when the sunlight comes through them. There are also nice statues and decorations everywhere. You can feel the history of the place while walking around. It’s not very big compared to some other European cathedrals but it’s still very special and definitely worth a visit if you are in Luxembourg. The area around it is also very nice to walk and explore.

The only cathedral in Luxembourg. Built in the Gothic style, but with many Renaissance elements. It has an interesting interior, and since I'm not a fan of lavish golden walls and decorations in such buildings, you won't see much of it here either

Casemates du Bock is a network of underground tunnels and galleries that were initially constructed in 1644 as a defense system. During World War II, it served as a shelter for thousands of residents and soldiers. The historic tunnel, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, features atmospheric passages, different levels, and impressive rock stairways. Today, the Bock Casemates offer visitors an immersive historical experience through centuries of military engineering.
Very beautiful view! We loved it! Despite the masses of foreign tourists we never felt trapped or stuck. Everything is very good organized and the paths are big enough to walk around. There is a free escalator available (up to 25 persons) to travel up and down to the highest or lowest point. Absolute recommendation! Bring enough time to see all the beautiful things around. Visit the church, walk the little paths. Enjoy the small river and feel the warmth of luxembourg. The people are awesome and very friendly. The architecture is historic and modern at the same time. We discovered the city as a coincidence and we fell in love with it. Visit the nice little cozy restaurants, the bars, have a chat and enjoy the hospitality we experienced.

It ok, quite expensive for a few casements. Most the views are either obscured or the same as the last casement, you visited. I don’t think it’s worth €10 and adult. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an impressive feat of workmanship but you don’t really need to go inside to see them. Take photos from the top and the battlements on the bridge instead.

I visited Casemates du Bock and honestly, it was an amazing experience! The underground tunnels are full of history and mystery — it feels like stepping back in time. The view from the top is breathtaking, especially overlooking Luxembourg City. The place is well maintained and easy to explore. I’d really recommend visiting in the morning when it’s less crowded. Perfect spot for history lovers and photographers. Truly one of the most unique and memorable places in Luxembourg😍😍😍

Nice caves in the cliffs -There was only 1 person in line when i got here around 5 pm. -You get a map of the cave, but its pretty simple, you walk down looking at the rooms/lookouts, there is a few cannons, a well. -On the way out you cross the gate bridge on the inside level

I went on a Sunday at 1130 with their official guided tour which was hosted in English. The tour also offers other languages but do check and reserve your spot in advance as they do not open tours every hour/every day. The guided tour gave a lot of important information about the history of the Casemates, but also the city and urban planning in general. There were hardly any text printed out for visitors to read if you enter without any audio guide/tour guide. Therefore, remember to collect an pamphlet before entering the site if you want to know more about the history of the site. If you want to have more flexibility in exploring and taking photos at the site, I would suggest to explore on your own pace instead of joining the guided tour.

Going around the Casemates was amazing. Our tour guide was absolutely outstanding. Really do recommend paying the extra €8 and getting a tour because they are full of historic information about the history of the Casemates as well as some of the history about Luxembourg itself had a fantastic time took a roundabout about an hour and 15 minutes but it’s well worth a visit!

We were able to buy tickets when we arrived, which was convenient. Students can get tickets for €8 and I was not asked to show any ID. There is very minimal signage and none of it is in English, but they provide a pamphlet in multiple languages with helpful information. The views of the city are great and you get to see everything from a completely different angle than you would from the street. I am directionally challenged and got turned around a couple of times, but it was still easy to find the way out. I am 160 cm and did not feel like the space was small, but my friend who is 170 cm had to watch her head in a few spots. If you are taller than 180 cm, some areas may feel low and not very comfortable to move through. Overall, it was worth the visit.

A Weekend Well Spent in Luxembourg! Classmates Luxembourg was an absolute delight! We were lucky with the weather, which made our visit even better. We spent hours walking around, exploring the stunning views from various angles, and truly soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. We drove there by car and had no trouble finding parking—plenty of space, no waiting, and reasonably priced. The area is well-equipped with restaurants and food stalls, perfect for grabbing a quick bite on the go. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend escape. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some breathtaking scenery!

Luxembourg American Cemetery

Military cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
The Luxembourg American Cemetery is a poignant memorial dedicated to the brave American soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War II, particularly in the Battle of the Bulge. Spanning an impressive 50.5 acres, this serene site is home to over 5,000 graves, including that of General George S. Patton Jr. Visitors can stroll through beautifully manicured grounds adorned with white cross gravestones and reflective spaces like a chapel and a tranquil pool.
Our tour of Germany and France stopped at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and it is a lovely and touching monument to the fallen in WW2. The cemetery is meticulously maintained and pristine. You enter through a blue enamelled and gold gate and the first thing that you see are the three huge stone, monolithic monuments. One is a shrine to all of the lost American soldiers that you can enter. The other monuments are two stone walls with the names of the five thousand and seventy four fallen soldiers laid to rest here. The huge, green flat field, surrounded by tall green trees and rose bushes, shield the row after row, of neatly arranged white crosses. General Patton’s grave has a special place of honour, but he is there with his soldiers. It is a very touching tribute. Our visit was an especially moving, because of our friend Frank, from South Carolina, who we met on our tour. He had a service here at his cousin’s grave. Every time that he comes to Europe, he pays his respects to his lost cousin. It was very touching to see that personal connection. There is also a chapel and a visitor centre. A lovely and fitting tribute to the fallen.

If you are traveling this way, or even go out of your way to see this. It the least we can do for the 5073 people who died to secure our freedoms! It is a very pretty site with a natural emotional aura. You can see a lot of the history of the battle (of the bulge) and you see Gen George S Patten Jr grave at the head of the troops.

The Luxembourg American Cemetery is one of the most beautiful and deeply moving places I’ve ever visited. It’s a powerful tribute to the American soldiers who made the greatest sacrifice for freedom during World War II. The grounds are immaculately maintained, peaceful, and full of quiet dignity. Walking through the rows of perfectly aligned white crosses and Stars of David is emotional and humbling. There is so much history here over 5,000 American service members are buried at this cemetery, including General George S. Patton, who rests at the front among the soldiers he commanded. The visitor center has helpful exhibits that explain the significance of the Battle of the Bulge and the sacrifices made in the region. The entire site is a reminder of courage, loss, and the cost of freedom. A beautiful, respectful, and important place to visit. If you’re in Luxembourg, this cemetery is absolutely worth your time.

Beautiful tribute for the soldiers. The cemetery is really well maintained and It's free to enter. The cemetery is a little far from the bus stop It takes 20 minutes of walk. Overall it is very recommended to visit the cemetary.
Marsha G — Google review
This is my second visit to an American military cemetery overseas. While smaller than the Normandy American Cemetery in France, it remains a deeply moving and solemn site. We came here to pay our respects not only to all the servicemen buried here but also to one of the nation’s greatest military leaders, General George S. Patton. His final resting place serves as a powerful tribute to his leadership and the sacrifices of those who served under him. In addition to General Patton, this cemetery is also the resting place of several paratroopers from the famed 101st Airborne Division, whose heroic actions were depicted in the series Band of Brothers. These soldiers fought bravely during the Battle of the Bulge, one of World War II’s most intense and pivotal battles. Visiting this cemetery is a solemn reminder of their sacrifice and the price of freedom.

History of Battle of the Bulge is on display at the visitor center. Cemetery is very well taken care of with beautiful landscaping. Blooming cherry trees in the parking lot were added bonus of the visit.

Beautiful cemetery. Beautiful location, very tasteful and immaculate grounds. A must visit for everyone, especially Americans. General Patton’s grave does not disappoint…you actually get a chance to get close, and pay respects
Michael S — Google review
As I walked the cemetery I started to call the names of the soldiers out loud. Everyone likes to hear their names being called. It is personal, familiarity, and warmth. stand here as witness. I carry no sword. I come with light. Not one of you is forgotten. Not while I stand here. -Frank Baran.

Ouvrage Hackenberg Maginot Line Fortress

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Vast, fortified WWII complex with bomb launcher turrets, guns & underground train, for guided tours.
By far one of the most impressive exhibitions you can visit. The tour lasts around 2.5 hours and takes you through the 15km of tunnels in the bunker. Much of the infrastructure still works, and the tour guides are extremely knowledgeable. It's difficult to visit since it's so far from Thionville, but if you can make it here, it's an unforgettable experience costing only €15.
Daniel L — Google review
Very interesting site with an English speaking guide telling us detailed things about the place, its history, and even provided a demo of a mortar launcher used then (without the mortar obviously). The place is well preserved and has good exhibits. It involves quite some walking (the whole tour took at least 2.5hours plus waiting time) and a short train ride. It is also pretty cold (12 degrees Celsius) under ground so make sure to wear something warm. Overall, it was an enjoyable and good learning experience for our family. The only remark I had was the tour is supposed to start at 14.15 (regardless which language) and we were requested to arrive at 14hrs. The French speaking tour started 10min later than 14.15 but the English one only started after 14.30 and the German one even later. It would've been better if various timing is communicated for each language's group so that visitors don't have to queue and wait for over half an hour.
E H — Google review
Our tour of Ouvrage Hackenberg was the outstanding highlight of a recent three day visit to the Champagne Region. If you have the ability reach this remote location it’s definitely a “must see”. The capacity of the English language tour is limited so it’s advisable to book in advance. It’s also advisable to wear warm clothing. Our informative and entertaining English volunteer guide has a thorough knowledge of the facility and its history. Paul did an excellent job guiding us around the extensive labyrinth of tunnels that included a one kilometre ride on an original electric train to an outlying gun position. It’s a great credit to this team of volunteers that they are able to maintain this facility and keep so much of the original equipment in working condition.
Edward A — Google review
Very interesting place to visit, it's entertaining all around the year. You need to take some warm clothes, even in summer. You can learn about history of Europe in 20th century, and see one of the most advanced engineering project in Europe. You need about three hours to enjoy this tour guided by the nice guy. Note: 6/5

Fantastic visit. Excellent guide and well worth the trip down through beautiful France.
Marki A — Google review
Well this is certainly a tourist attraction with a difference. 'Attraction' may not be the correct word to use, but it is certainly a location that should be visited, if only to help some of those misguided individuals on our planet that seem to feel that war is the best way to accomplish their depraved goals. Taking the tour, and with a little imagination, you will get to understand some of horrors of what life was like for those who have experience war first hand, and get to see some of the remarkable infrastructure that was put in place underground, not just in this fortress, but also in many others in this part of France. The visit is fully guided and is progressive along an underground facility. It takes upwards of three hours, so be prepared for that. It is however, a truly must-see experience.

Treetop Walk Saarschleife

Hiking area
Treetop Walk Saarschleife is a 1,250-meter-long elevated wooden bridge that takes you through a forest path and leads to a lookout tower offering stunning views of the Saarschleife natural wonder. Opened to the public in July 2016, it provides a unique perspective of the Saarland landscape. The structure is well-maintained and wheelchair accessible, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. However, finding parking may be challenging on busy days.
Lovely place, 7000sq m of woods. The whole walk from parking to the tree top structure is flat- kids and old folks can easily walk. Walk up to top is also effortless. Spectacular view from top. Windy but splendid view. Must visit with family and kids.
Mahi R — Google review
Very busy but also the best spot to take your family and friends to see the ‘Saarschleife’. It’s a fun walk with some puzzles and riddles along the way for kids. The top can be crowded depending on the weather and time of day. Can take a fair bit until it’s your turn to take the perfect photo ;) You can also buy a season pass which will give you unlimited access for a whole year.
Rouven G — Google review
Lovely place with astonishing view, is very nice to see places in Germany countryside with infrastructure to receive tourist. The view is amazing and they even have an elevated walkway in the middle of the trees. Very easy to access by train and bus. Only issue was the price (12,5€), for a student it was so expensive and the student price was not appealing at all (11,5€), only 1€ discount.

Incredible experience for families accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Interes hike with activities for children and educational facts. View on top from the tower is breathtaking. Totally worth its price. We paid 27 euros for a family ticket of two kids and two adults.

Cool place with interesting information. With kids makes a lot of sense to go because of the nature explanation. Without you can think about just going to the little free lookout below. View is nearly as good.

Very nice viewpoint to see the saar and Saarschleife You can walk up and then also under towards the saar river Banches are above with view points You can also spot squirrels on the way! Accessible for everyone even wheelchair and strollers! A must when visiting Saarland!
Brent C — Google review
For the price, this is an excellent attraction, as you can spend many hours walking around. The main attraction for us was definitely the tree top walk and the viewing platform. The walk across the boardwalk has several interactive points for children, although I didn't see any information written in English. It isn't too strenuous, and inclines are suitable if you have a pushchair or a mobility walker so everyone can enjoy this experience. As the name suggests, you're walking at tree top heights, therefore thise who have issues with height don't look down. What i would say is, if you're ok with looking straight across at a view (opposed to down), definitely do this, as the views are to behold. On a clear day, you can see for miles, over the woodlands and river Sarr. I would also encourage everyone to slowly walk the boardwalk before the viewing platform, as there are many birds flying around and with many bird feeding stations on the route you are sure to see some beautiful little birds. The 2 we saw a lot of were the Nuthatch & Crested Tit. If you want to spend the day, suggest taking a picnic.

Trier Saint Peter's Cathedral is a stunning blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and baroque architecture. The cathedral features a vaulted, fortress-style design that showcases a mix of artistic styles. Visitors can explore the Market Cross at its center, dating back to 958, and the St Peters Fountain adorned with allegorical figures representing cardinal virtues and playful monkeys. The exterior boasts unique decorations such as Madonnas, gold stars, water features, and oxen.

This was my first time visiting the Trier Cathedral (Trier Dom), and I was truly impressed by the grandeur and historical richness of the place. The architecture is breathtaking — a perfect blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles, reflecting over 1,700 years of history. The atmosphere inside is calm and spiritual. The high ceilings, ancient stone walls, and stained glass windows give a powerful sense of timelessness. It’s amazing to think this is the oldest cathedral in Germany, with parts dating back to Roman times. There’s also a lot to explore: the Holy Robe (Heiliger Rock), the crypt, and the quiet courtyards surrounding the complex. Entry is free, and there are brochures in multiple languages available for visitors. I highly recommend taking your time to sit quietly inside and soak in the peaceful environment. Whether you’re religious, interested in history, or just love beautiful architecture, the Trier Dom is a must-visit.

Trier Cathedral, old architecture marvel because it was built in a very old era. Beautiful historical structure with religious importance because of the holy robe. Last time it was displayed in 2012 to the public where large number of visitors came. To visit inside there are certain timings which changes from winter.

Amazing cathedral and architecture, with roots going bsck 1700 years to Roman occupation. Current structure from 13th century and stunning both inside and out. Free to enter, with several options inside to donate towards supporting the building. Hard to imagine how they built it without modern tools. The ceilings are well over 10 stories high, and they elaborate carvings and paintings are simply stunning!

There are many beautiful and breathtaking cathedrals across Germany and Europe but this one stands at the top with the best. While on the outside it may not appear as daunting or heavenly, inside is quite the opposite. What a breathtaking experience. Be sure to go down below to the catacombs and outside to the courtyard. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Trier.

Porta Nigra, also known as the Black Gate, is a grand Roman gateway dating back to 180 AD. It is the largest monument of its kind in the north of Italy and serves as a natural starting point for exploring Trier. Despite several renovation projects over the years, its imposing size and unmissable Roman design have been retained. Visitors can walk through it and even go up into it to appreciate the detailed carvings and sheer size.
Beautiful day out in Trier where this historic gateway is found. A ride in the tourist train is a must ro see the main sights which are all accessible to walk within 20 min radius. Lovely bars and cafes in the square. The Cathedral is beautiful. Home of Karl Marx, his house is good to visit too alongside the amphitheatre, palace gardens and other beautiful buildings.

Absolutely beautiful! We parked in a structure not too far from here near city center. Look in my reviews for the location. This beautiful display of ancient architecture was very impressive. There is a great place to take a picture in front of the gate towards the main road. We just stood in awe!

It's a strange thing to find such Intact and extensive Roman ruins so far north in Europe! In many ways this building is better preserved than some of the buildings in Rome itself. Very informative interpretation, reasonably priced and presenting good views of the city!

Excellent landmark to visit in the middle of the delightful town of Trier. Museum offers a unique insight into local Roman and political history. Limited public conveniences and places to rest do reduce overall enjoyment, however there's many café options and restaurants nearby.
Emma B — Google review
Amazing site to see - not often you csn see Roman ruins from the 2nd century. Built from huge sandstone blocks, some weighing 6 tons - without modern machinery. The only one of the 4 original gates still standing, it was spared because it was used as a church. Massive structure in the center of town that should inspire awe. A remnant of a different age, when the Roman Empire ruled much of Europe.
Kevin C — Google review
I visited on a Tuesday late afternoon at around 1600. It is a very well preserved Roman building, where you could enter and walk up to the third floor of the building for a ticket of €5 (Student ticket). The explanation on the history of this building was very detailed and informative. 1 hour is well sufficient for a detailed visit for this landmark and learning its history. Overall, it is a fantastic experience to learn about the history of this area and I would definitely recommend people to visit.

Fantastic. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. The park is so beautiful even in January. Our lodge at the wolves enclosure was an experience none of us will ever forget. Again everything was welcoming and beautiful. The wolves are stunning and we never got tired of watching them. Already looking forward to our next visit! We will be back!

We went there for a day trip. This is one of if not the nicest animal park I have ever seen. It is spaceaus and beutiful for people and animals. The areas are very well looked after and tastefully created and decorated. Everywhere you look you see someone with true ability and style takes care of this. No kitch no nonsense- just a beatiful large park with a farm and some animals in it. Very nice playground for childre too. The only negative I can say- they need to change their catering partners or make them do better job. I am yet to see at least average level of quality from Eurest anywhere but the main restaurant food is really very low quality and very overpriced for what you get. It looks sad and unloved. It's really a big contrast between the restaurant and the rest of the park. So pack your snacks and avoid the panoramic restaurant if you go there. The soup serving place next to the playground looked a little better though. But we only had coffee and ice cream there so I don't know about the food. Nevertheless- for us it was more than 2 hour drive but it was totally worth it! Higly recommended, especially if you love animals and prefer to see them closer to their natural habitat instead of being placed into display boxes.

Amazing place, we've got the tree house, next to the wolves. Activities are super fun and engaging. Restaurants are both good. Staff is really prepared and enthusiastic.

Stayed here two nights with my son. We had lodge 14 with a view of the black bears. The park is well located and you can tell that they go out of thier way to organize activities so that everyone can enjoy thier visit. The animals are really well taken care of. I recommend the train ride as you learn a lot about the animals. We also did the soigneur du jour option biodiversité, but I don't think it was worth it for the price. However my son enjoyed it so I was happy. Breakfast and dinner is included if you are staying the night. This should probably in the future become a paid option (thus lowering the prices of the stay) because the food offered was really not that good at all and I am far from being picky food wise. We ate elsewhere the second night and breakfast we skipped all together. Otherwise, I would definitely visit and sleep there again but would love to not have to pay for food that I probably won't even like.
Rona M — Google review
What a great day out. Lots of different animals, all in amazing enclosures, giving them space to roam as they might in the wild. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

This place is amazing! We came here from Les Trois Forets for a visit and it is fantastic. Probably mt favourite zoo / animal park that I have ever visited. As we could to also take advantage of the jacuzzi... The wolves did a great show in front of the window.. the lodge is just wow.. only the food could have been a bit better... Dinner that us. Parc aquatique Aqua Mundo Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts is a massive 5,000 m2 water park with lush vegetation and various attractions. Guests can enjoy wave pools, a 190m-long Master Blaster water slide, and a wild river surrounded by tropical greenery. The water temperature is maintained at a comfortable 29 degrees Celsius. Visitors can relax in bubble baths, race on buoys, or challenge themselves on the thrilling slides.
Great fun for the whole family. Lots of chairs, pools, whirlpools outdoor areas, Sand pit for the little ones and heaps of waterslides in different difficultly levels. We loved and will be back with more friends. Thanks for the great stay

The wild water slide is a lot of fun. I think my kids rode it one hundred times in a row. The place inside is very nice as well, but the water was a bit cold especially the hot tubs. It was a bit crowded on Saturday but that is to be expected. Overall a fun place, just the water needs to be turned up a bit in heat. I also wish there was another food option other than the Quick place. The food isn't that good and it's very pricey. Maybe a snack machine or something would be good. Still fun though.

Fun Activity Park My kids loved this parc, they kept asking for the few following months when we would come back. It had everything, the water slides, the horses, the forest, the chimney in the room, etc. Overall they really enjoyed it. It is also really big, so you have some much to do. We stayed 4 days (3 nights) and that was just about right, any less would have felt too short I believe.
Paul V — Google review
Very good aqua mundo, but there are better in other center parcs!
Asaf Z — Google review
We visited today. The park was very busy, which I knew that it would be the case as it was a weekend day but I still didn't expect HOW busy it would be and feel. For what you get I found the park incredibly over priced. €144 for 1 adult and 3 kids. When you want to consume your own good you have to get dressed and actually leave the aqua centre and eat outside only to then get dressed again and re enter the pool. It feels like you are being 'forced' into buing their overpriced and over processed food at the side of the pool. Also my kids were not allowed to use the slides ect without an adult apparently which is tricky as I was there a single parent with 3 kids and an infant and the infant wasn't allowed on the slides my 6,10 and 12 year old wanted to use. I wouldn't go again.
Julia W — Google review
Great aqua park with six different slides (tubes, wildwater, etc.), a climbing wall, five whirlpools, an inner swimmingpool (temporarily with waves) and an outer swimmingpool. Unfortunately the aqua park was, compared to others in Center Parks, very crowdy. Most of the showers only distributed cold water without possibility to change the temperatures.
Daniel F — Google review
Insanely crowded, towels on all chairs and loungers, do not go unless you enjoy standing in line. Vast majority in the pool are locals on day tickets.

The museum showcases over 650 pieces, including designs, jewelry, glassware, and crystal ware created by Lalique. Visitors can explore the diverse creations and learn about the history and process of glass art making.
大好き💕I highly, highly recommend it. The artwork is great, but the building itself and the energy of the place is wonderful, as is the place next door where you can have a café lunch. You can go in once, come back out, and go back in again, so I recommend bringing your own lunch and spending the whole day there.

The museum is nice, there's no wait, and it's not too expensive. I like how most of the things are written in French, English and German, its nice to be able to understand something once in a while. The crystal pieces were immaculate, they look amazing. I just think there's something that you could add to it to make it even better. If i would rate it out of ten, it would be a seven, but i cant rate it out of ten.

What a lovely museum! It's light and spacious with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Learning about the life and fabulous work of Lalique was very interesting and the exhibits are breathtaking! There are some activities for children and adults to make the visit more engaging if you wish. A lovely place which isn't stuffy like many museums.

Rheinfels Castle, dating back to the 13th century, is the largest and one of the most enchanting castles along the River Rhine. Despite being mostly in ruins, it offers a captivating experience with its tall gate tower, remnants of apartments, and cellar. The former castle chapel now houses a museum that delves into its rich history. Visitors can enjoy a short hike from the river to explore medieval artifacts and take in stunning views from the watchtower.
This was a great castle to view, because unlike many of the restore castles, this one is more in its original state. It had some very fascinating areas to explore with great views of vineyards and the river. And the museum area has a lot of beautiful artifacts that are very interesting as well. Definitely worth the visit.

Nice castle but we hiked to ones that were better with no cost or minimal cost . Unfortunately it was under construction which is understandable but took away from the experience and some sections were blocked off. The museum was closed for 1 hour for a theatre show so we waited a while but felt we didn’t want to wait anymore. We thought it was over hyped in our opinion with the high reviews! It is hard not to get spoiled with so many castles around!

The views are delightful, and the room inside is pleasantly cool in hot summer. Guide with all details: ⏱️ you’ll need about an hour to see everything 🍽️ to eat, it's best to eat at the port, as the nearby restaurant has a low rating and tends to be overpriced 🚌 getting in and out from the castle, the public bus is the most convenient option-just a quick 7-minute ride (departs xx:07 & xx:37 every hour from the castle) 🚶‍♂️there are also steps available if you prefer a more scenic route on the way up 💶 6 per adult / 4 child, no need to book in advance 🚢 if you are on a ship ride - you need 2 hours between arrival and departure 🍦take in the port on the way up or down

Burg Rheinfels is a great ruin castle to explore. I had fun learning about what it would have been used for and how all the rooms would have looked. The grounds can be uneven to walk and there are stairs. There are toilets available and a nice gift shop.

An amazing ruin. Great entry price and we were free to walk around even though lots of maintenance happening. Definitely worth a visit.
Dawn P — Google review
It was great experience to visit the castle (mostly ruined) and have an insight of what happened here during medieval era and after French war. There are several things you can see like the Europe’s largest cold store and beautiful view of Rhine valley at the top. It is mostly under construction due to repair work going on.
Ranjit S — Google review
You can visit only few parts of the castle as it is under major renovation. What is really a must, if the weather isn't rainy, is the restaurant. The view from the terrace is simply astonishing!

Perched atop a hill, the Niederwald Monument commemorates the unification of Germany following the Franco-Prussian War. Accessible by foot or cable car, it offers stunning views of the Rhine River and valley below. The monument features an imposing figure of Germania, symbolizing unity and strength. Visitors can take a cable car ride through picturesque vineyards or hike through beech forests to reach this historical site.
I recommend the ring tour but check the times for when the boat runs - they didn't advertise how early the boat stops running even though the tour is officially open until 7 that would never work to complete the tour. I had to take the train back to Rudesheim. The views were stunning, the ice cream and coffee delicious at the top, and the music was fun. The monument is gorgeous.

As we take a moment to reflect, it is essential to honor the brave men and women who fought valiantly for the freedoms we cherish today. Their sacrifices have paved the way for us to enjoy fundamental rights such as freedom of speech and freedom of religion. This remembrance not only deepens our appreciation for our liberties but also inspires us to uphold the values they fought for, ensuring that future generations can experience the same privileges. The Rhine River, with its stunning vistas, offers a picturesque backdrop, especially during the summer months. The lush vineyards that line its banks create a vibrant tapestry of green, while charming towns dot the landscape, each with its unique character. As you gaze upon the river, you can see various cargo ships navigating its waters, transporting goods and adding to the lively atmosphere. The scene is further enhanced by the presence of majestic castles perched on hilltops, standing as timeless guardians of history. Additionally, the region boasts a diverse array of parks, providing serene spaces for relaxation and exploration, making the Rhine a truly enchanting destination.

Wonderful cable car ride from Rudesheim, views of vineyards and surrounding countryside, very peaceful but a bit chilly in the wind. A short walk to the monument, bit of a hill, but worth it. Amazing views of the Rhine and all around, the monument is massive, really impressive and the history (to read on placards) is very interesting. Nice little outdoor takeaway for drinks and snacks, note.. you pay a deposit for proper cups. Restaurant as well but didn't use it. A place well worth seeing!!

We had a good tour up here, we got the ring tickets which included cable car through the vineyard , chairlift and boat back. The view at the monument is beautiful totally worth it and the hike through the forest to the chairlift is good too.

Impressive monument, fun to ride the gondola up there. There is a little restaurant up there. Impressive views! It's worth going up to see. If the weather is good, it is a nice day. We had poor weather so we didn't stay long. You can ride the gondola down (keep your ticket) or walk down through the vineyards.

Lovely views up here, was on a Rhine tour up through here on the way back to Frankfurt. Amazing views on a blue sky day. One of the best views to end a day

We visited on a weekend in summer holidays. Took Cable Car to top of the hill. Waiting was around 45 mins. There is also a hiking path. You can either buy cable cat tickets one way or for round trip. Hike trial takes around 90 mins One can also directly visit the spot by car. To enjoy the view cable car is more recommended.

Limburg Cathedral, also known as the Georgsdome, is a stunning example of Late Romanesque architecture that dates back to the 1200s. Nestled atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the picturesque town of Limburg an der Lahn, this enchanting cathedral features seven striking spires and showcases exquisite medieval art. Visitors can explore its three levels and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows and charming prayer nooks that invite quiet reflection.
A Masterpiece of Late Romanesque Architecture the Limburg Cathedral, consecrated in 1235, is an outstanding example of late Romanesque architecture with early Gothic influences. Its striking façade features seven spires and intricate decorative elements typical of the Romanesque style. Inside, visitors can admire the well-preserved medieval frescoes and the harmonious layout of the nave and choir. Located on a hill overlooking the Lahn River, the cathedral has been a prominent landmark in Limburg for centuries, combining architectural significance with historical importance

A Stunning Blend of Romanesque and Gothic Beauty Limburg Cathedral, perched dramatically above the Lahn River, is a breathtaking sight from every angle. Its striking red-and-white façade and seven spires make it one of the most distinctive churches in Germany. The architecture is a unique blend of late Romanesque and early Gothic styles, and the interior is just as captivating—beautiful frescoes, arched ceilings, and a serene, contemplative atmosphere. Despite its historic significance (dating back to the 13th century), the cathedral is very well preserved and remains a peaceful, spiritual place. It’s not overly crowded, which makes for a more intimate and reflective visit. The views from the surrounding area are spectacular, especially if you approach the cathedral on foot through Limburg’s charming old town with its timber-framed houses. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—it’s a gem of medieval architecture and German heritage.

We saw this Cathedral on our way to burg Eltz, (from Frankfurt) we thought of checking it out. Oh boy, we took the right decision! The cathedral was very cute and little different than other cathedrals we visited recently. It had 3 floors (upstairs) and looks simple but elegant. There is a nice view of the town from left side of the cathedral. We visited on Sat (28th Oct). It was open and free entry. There were pretty good amount of visitors, even in a gloomy day. But the best thing was, the town! Such a gorgeous, cute little town, the fishmarket (no fishy smell or nothing like that), and all those beautiful patterned colorful German houses! Even their shed (gartenhaus) had to be the same pattern, painted like those houses!! I would surly recommend anyone to visit this town and enjoy the beauty and bless them by eating in one of their restaurant.

Limburg Cathedral, also known as St. George's Cathedral after its patron saint, has been the cathedral church of the Diocese of Limburg since 1827 and stands majestically above the old town of Limburg an der Lahn, next to Limburg Castle. Its elevated position on the limestone cliffs above the Lahn River ensures that the cathedral is visible from afar. It has seven towers, more than any other church in Germany.

Really special, quote old and with lovely frescos inside and out. Park somewhere down below and meander your way up for maximal enjoyment. I managed to carry my infant all the way up, in, and around and she was delighted. Bring .50 to buy the small pamphlet (in your option of several languages) or 3€ for the booklet. The Dom‘s exterior is beautiful and has lovely bells, and the interior has a nice ambiance with chanting coming from somewhere in the transept and several centuries of historic art throughout. As cathedrals go it’s really special!

Nestled in the charming old quarter of Mainz, the Gutenberg Museum stands as a testament to the revolutionary impact of Johannes Gutenberg, the pioneer behind movable type printing. Established in 1900 to commemorate his 500th birthday, this museum is one of the oldest dedicated to printing and attracts visitors from around the globe.
Small museum run by strict time and appointments. We were on a local guide tour, so he did the actual printing demonstration and gave us background and insights. I'm not sure how a walk-in would have been treated. Very interesting museum and a great addition to my knowledge of Gutenberg. Give it a try.
Alan — Google review
Beautifully curated museum with several original printed books, specially 3 bibles. A very good printed demonstration, from the making of the letters to the final printed page, both in English and German with a replica of the printing machine. Negative: A very unhelpful large and seated guardian next to the interactive picture box, most interested in moving people along than in helping with the experience.
Claudia B — Google review
You are given a card that lets you activate some of the exhibits, and at the end you can print your photo in the style of block printing onto the card. There is a demonstration of printing and the presenter gave interesting facts and was very knowledgeable.

Awesome experience of the Gutenberg museum and in excellent opportunity to see one of the Gutenberg Bibles. Actually four of them. It's absolutely amazing that these were the first books printed by the Gutenberg press. A worthwhile experience to visit this historic place. Highly recommend visiting the Gutenberg museum and seeing the original Gutenberg Bible. They are absolutely priceless books as every single one of the 47 of them are different because they were sold as separate pages and made into books by the buyers after they purchase them which we understand is the price of a home to purchase the pages back when they were newly off the press
Ed R — Google review
It's a small museum but very well done. When I visited in Nov 2025 they had the word "Moved" in the name to emphasize that it's final location is under renovation and it is just temporarily adjacent to the natural history museum. Indeed I almost wandered into the natural history museum trying to find it. The first room had a 3D table of Mainz and narrated a story of his life (both in English and German). Indeed in spite of what some past reviews said, the museum seems to have stepped up their game and most descriptions were in both German and English. The main attraction, the two original Bibles we're well displayed and surprisingly uncrowded. I was able to go back two and study them.
Knud H — Google review
1.5 hours was NOT enough. Didn't get to the demonstrations upstairs. (I visited the "Moved!" version in June 2025.) Anyone in graphic design, journalism or communications will appreciate the overarching themes and attention to detail. The Bibles themselves, and the additional works displayed alongside them, were presented very well and in an interesting manner.
E. L — Google review
The Gutenberg Museum is a fascinating and well-worthwhile visit. While I was a bit confused by the natural history aspect, I soon discovered that the main exhibition is temporarily located inside the Natural History Museum—a detail that, once understood, didn't detract from the experience at all. My primary interest was learning more about Johannes Gutenberg, and the museum did an excellent job of that. The exhibits are fantastic, especially the chance to see some of the first printed bibles up close. I also appreciated the use of modern technology to make the history more relatable, particularly the fun machine that lets you create a selfie with a printed page. My only regret is that I didn't get to see a demonstration of the printing press in action. Overall, it's a great experience and excellent value for money.
Tim B — Google review
Valuable experience! The museum is really interesting: it’s a collection of ancient manuscripts, the first original examples of a few books (including the famous Bible 42), interactive news / videos and a display of objects related to the printing machine. You can even see how the printing process was developed in a practical “workshop”. Only one suggestion: if possible add English subtitles to the short films and try to make the demonstration of the printing press also in English (at least once).

Mainz Cathedral

Nestled in the heart of Mainz, the Mainz Cathedral, also known as St. Martin and St. Stephen, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture that has captivated visitors for centuries. With its impressive six towers reaching towards the sky, this architectural marvel was constructed starting in AD 975 under Archbishop Willigis and draws inspiration from Rome's iconic St. Peter's Basilica.
Mainz Cathedral is truly a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture and a place where you instantly feel the weight of history—and the serenity of the present. From the moment you approach its striking red sandstone façade and soaring towers, the cathedral commands attention. Yet, once inside, what stands out most is the calm and quiet atmosphere. The interior, with its high vaulted ceilings, delicate stained-glass windows, and softly lit chapels, invites reflection and stillness. Each corner offers something unique: from colorful modern stained-glass windows to beautifully preserved medieval sculptures and ornate altars. The cathedral is not only a feast for the eyes but also a deeply spiritual space, whether you’re religious or not. Sitting in the long nave, surrounded by centuries-old stone and gentle candlelight, brings a sense of grounding and peace. A small exhibit area shares more about the cathedral’s long and storied past, and there are plenty of nooks to explore if you enjoy architecture, art, or quiet contemplation. Right in the heart of Mainz, this is a must-visit spot that feels worlds away from the busy streets just outside.

A stunning landmark right at the heart of Mainz! The cathedral is massive and full of history, with its beautiful Romanesque architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Walking inside feels like stepping back in time, with impressive stonework, chapels, and artworks to admire. The surrounding Domplatz adds to the charm, with plenty of cafés and shops around. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Mainz!
Midhun M — Google review

The Mainz Cathedral is absolutely mesmerizing! The moment you step inside, you’re transported to another time. The massive pillars, soaring ceilings, and the way light filters through the stained glass—it’s like walking into a movie scene. Every corner tells a story. Peaceful yet majestic, this place leaves you in awe. If you visit Mainz and miss this cathedral, you’re truly missing out! ⛪✨

Beautiful cathedral. Lovely garden area as you come in. I was in a bit of a hurry so I was not able to figure out how to climb the tower but I hope I can come back sometime and try. Crypt was neat to see. Fun murals of gospel scenes above the clerestory level along the nave. Some interesting sid chapels to include one of the more vibrant colored crucifixion paintings I've seen in a cathedral.
Knud H — Google review
I really like the cathedral — it’s even more beautiful than the one in Speyer. I adore the red stones and the many towers. It’s so happily situated within the rest of the city. I felt very happy in these surroundings.
Iva * — Google review
Much larger than I thought. They have a “biggest bible” page there which isn’t that aesthetic but the rest of the cathedral is impressive. Definitely worth a stop.
Ben P — Google review
The cathedral is beautiful. I came here on a Thursday afternoon and there was no wait at all and there was minimal people inside. Be careful if there is a service happening and be respectful of the space if so. There is a museum but I didn't go inside there. The architecture in the cathedral is worth the visit to come see. Be aware that as of may 2025 there is major construction happening on the outside of the cathedral so it is covered in scaffolding. Its free to enter the church but donations are welcome. Be prepared to translate most of the signage if you do not speak German. There is a wheelchair ramp going into the main section of the cathedral and the main cathedral floor is flat but all of the side rooms and passageways have steps and are not handicap accessible.

Speyer Cathedral, also known as the Imperial Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and St Stephen, is a significant Romanesque cathedral in Europe. It has been a burial site for emperors for centuries and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cathedral's construction began in the 11th century and it boasts impressive architectural design with soaring ceilings, intricate stonework, and stunning stained glass windows.
I enjoyed the architecture and the design. There were a lot of people visiting on a Saturday. To visit this Cathedral, you do not have to pay, except if you want to visit the tombs underground. It cost like 4 euros. Finding a car space on a Saturday was challenging but eventually I found one. The Cathedral is a must see attraction in Speyer. There is a lot of history here which I love to find out. Outside the Cathedral there are lots of coffee shops for your enjoyment. This is an active church and patrons are requested to respect the ambience and space.

The Speyerer cathedral exudes a sense of grand history and architectural significance. The intricate details in the stonework and sculptures reflect a high level of craftsmanship and religious symbolism. Inside, the soaring vaulted ceilings and massive columns create a powerful feeling of awe and reverence, while the richly decorated doorways and statues add a sense of solemn dignity. The atmosphere is both majestic and serene, offering a space that invites quiet reflection and admiration for its monumental design.

Visitor's note: there is currently restoration work ongoing. As such there is scaffolding in place. Be aware. What an amazing attraction for any and all visors. The cathedral it's absolutely magnificent. Completed and consecrated in 1051 le Cathedral de Spire is one of the last cathedrals built during the time of the unified church. Historically and religiously, this is incredibly significant, but the site doesn't stop there. The architecture of the space is world class. With no choir as you enter you are drawn to the east, to enter the space fully and encounter the light of Christ. The crypts below the cathedral are worth the visit alone. Hapsburgs lie interred next to other emperors, kings, and ancient leaders of both church and state. Whether you are looking for a tourist site, a historical adventure, or a pilgrimage site in western Germany, the dome has all of that and more.

It was a fantastic visit for me and my som. There is a big variety of vehicles from historical to date including prototypes. Additionally there is a space part that can be visited to see demos of spacecrafts. Airplanes were also amazing. I think at least 3 hours is needed to see all the rooms. One can also have an experience how to work of engines. There are parts for children to enjoy.

Incredible experience! It went way beyond my expectations. I didn’t think there would be this much to see. My main reason for going was the Buran and Apollo exhibits, but I ended up really enjoying the other sections too. There are dozens of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes on display. You also get to see flown items from Apollo, Gemini, Shuttle, and ISS missions. Capsule parachutes, Shuttle parts, astronaut gear, and even a Moon rock from Apollo 15… Such an amazing collection. The Lunar Module looks almost exactly like the real thing, and the lunar suits are just as impressive. Absolutely a must-visit!
