beautiful place to relax. the water has an amazing and unique color. you have to be careful because the bottom is very rocky. nearby food stall, restaurant and souvenirs
Anna N — Google review
The most beautiful place i have ever seen. The water is perfectly clear and have this amazing turquoise color. Astonishing rocks around. There is also nudist beach on the other side of this lake. Few spots in the trees when you can find a shade and chill. Also there is a small restaurant with beer and some fast foods. Official parking is paid, but you can find some parking spots along the road.
Anonimowe — Google review
Nice place, clean water and few people.

Overcrowded at the weekends. Since this is not an official bath place, dont expect any services.

(Translated by Google) The quarry and the lake are beautiful, fish swim in the water. It is already worse with order (garbage was thrown here), parking (the large parking lot was closed, you have to look for it on the side of the road). There is a sign prohibiting swimming, camping, and setting fires, but no one followed it. In addition, there were also noisy tourists. Old broken buildings do not add to the beauty. And watch out for the axes. (Original) Lom a jazero je pekné, vo vode plávajú ryby. Horšie je to už s poriadkom (boli tu pohadzané odpadky), parkovaním (veľké parkovisko bolo zavreté, treba hľadať popri ceste). Je tu tabuľa zákaz plávania, stanovania a kladenia ohňa, ale nik to tu nedodržiaval. Navyše sa tu našli aj hluční turisti. Staré rozbité budovy nepridávajú na kráse. A pozor na osi.

(Translated by Google) Water and swimming ajn, interesting environment, great for cooling down, especially after some hiking. Swimming is prohibited, but a parking fee is charged, there is a new buffet and paddleboard rental. Camping is prohibited, but all around the lake there are drunken youth camping, sometimes it's disgusting, like tent ghettos. But as long as you don't go for a walk around, it's fine by the lake.
Alena C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The only thing that can be criticized is the parking, the water is pleasant, the entrance to the water as well, the beach also buffets available, I don't know the prices .. 🙂 and who would like to have the option of boring beaches 😂 (Original) Vytknúť sa dá asi len parkovanie , voda príjemná , vstup do vody taktiež , pláž taktiež bufety k dispozícii ceny neviem .. 🙂 a kto by chcel má možnosť aj nuda pláže 😂

Waterpark Park Bešeňová

Thermal baths
Spas & Wellness
Relaxed family resort & water park offering simple rooms & apartments, plus dining, a bar & a spa.
Bešeňová is more than just a water park. The geothermal springs located within the complex rise from a depth of 1987 meters and reach a temperature of about 40°C. It’s a true natural treasure that positively impacts the musculoskeletal and respiratory systems. There are also a lot of attractions for kids here (for different ages). Tickets are often cheaper via the Gopass app.
Tetiana — Google review
Water park is nice, a bit dated but nice. Kids loved it. The issue with the place is that it's much too expensive, and the facility doesn't justify the price. We have been to better waterparks with better facility in more affordable prices. Price is 32 euro for kids 6-11 36 euro for 11-18 and 42 euro for adults. Other than that, it's a good place to spend a day with the kids. If the price was better I would rank it higher, due to the price I give it 3 stars. Although we might go again in the future.
Roy B — Google review
I used to enjoy and relax here from time to time but not anymore. Its too expensive and its no longer worth it. 42 Euros for a ticket? Nothing has changed in years. Plus the bathrooms aren't exactly the cleanest.
Tarin V — Google review
Fun place but needs some love. It looks like it’s straight from 2007 and it looks dated. I’m fine with higher prices but the prices in the aqua park restaurant is a daylight robbery. Probably our last visit before they fully refurbish the damn place. Thanks for having us!
Joey M — Google review
Sure! Here's your translated text in English: --- Excellent hotel, in a rural location with stunning views, a natural river, and hiking trails. Plenty of activities for children – facilities, various slides, different pools, and many restaurants at reasonable prices. The rooms are excellent – fully equipped with a kitchen, utensils, microwave, induction stove. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a supermarket nearby. You can cook meals in the room. We arrived by direct train and then took a taxi for about 15 minutes. Highly recommended!
Tami R — Google review
I am sat, torn on weather to go from 5 to 4 or 3 stars and find i can't go higher than 3. The thing that let it down for me was the food. The food was tasty, however, whilst in the queue I noticed one of the main chefs carry one of the near empty food tins to the kitchen, grabbing a handful of left over food on the way and stuffing it in his mouth, then coming straight back out and using the same hand and gloves to touch other pre prepared food. To me this is totally unhygienic and not what you would expect for the price and experience. There is absolutely no way he changed those gloves, as i watched him go in to the kitchen and straight back out. Totally disgusting. Then my daughter was eating her children's chicken and mentioned one felt "chewy", only to find it wasn't cooked through and was cold in the middle. My wife complained, and they gave us more, however we really didn't want more and just wanted to highlight the food hygiene concerns. I would happily return again, but would be tempted to argue about bringing my own food, as i wouldn't trust getting it here. Such a shame, as the water park is otherwise fantastic and well worthy of 5 stars. Note that i understand they appear to outsource the kitchen to Unilever, and will write directly to them in my return home with my concerns too.

Our visit to the water park was an amazing experience for the whole family. The place is clean, well-organized, and very well maintained, with a great variety of slides and attractions suitable for both kids and adults. The pools are spacious and pleasant, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. In addition, the on-site restaurants offer a wide variety of tasty food, which makes the day even more enjoyable.t’s definitely a perfect spot to spend the entire day – a wonderful mix of fun, relaxation, and enjoyment.
Lisa M — Google review
The water park is good and the lines are Ok , better for kids under 8 but everyone can find something to have fun. • Giovanni Restaurant inside the water park : We arrived at 3:00 PM. No wait for a table, but we were told only pasta was available—no pizzas, no salads. We ordered pasta for the family; 10 minutes later, the waitress returned to say pasta had also run out and only drinks were available. That’s unacceptable stock management for mid-afternoon. • wellness: Large facilities, but no age restriction meant many teenagers constantly roaming around, which made it far less relaxing. • Water Park: Fun for families, particularly best for kids under 8. Older kids/teens may find it limited.

Aquapark Tatralandia

Mentioned on
+11 other lists
Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Tatralandia is a year-round water park that offers both indoor and outdoor pools, thrilling rides, and various slides. It's an ideal destination for a hot summer day with its fun rides, water slides, tubing wave pool, and wave machine. The park also features a children's pool to keep the little ones entertained. Additionally, during winter when skiing conditions are unfavorable, Tatralandia serves as a great alternative with access available using skipass.
Fantastic place to go with our boys of 8, 9 and 12 yrs old. With so many slides you can gradually build up the difficulty level. Personal favorite: Flamingo. Also had some good food from the grill 😋 And enough parking space. Buy tickets online to get some discount 😉
Andries — Google review
If you enjoy feeling exploited – go there. The entrance tickets are outrageously overpriced, and the place is packed with thousands of people, creating enormous queues for the slides. For some unexplained reason, on most of the slides – especially those designed for kids – you’re forced to wait for an inflatable tube, which makes the wait even longer and more cumbersome. On the main slides, you can end up waiting over an hour (!) in line, and then spend more long minutes waiting again at the top. Everything moves painfully slowly and inefficiently. But the real nerve is what they call “Express Tickets.” For an extra €3 per person per slide, they let you skip the main line and go straight up to the slide queue itself. So, while you – who already paid dozens of euros to get in – wait endlessly in the “regular” line, dozens of people who paid more casually walk past you. For every 20 “express” guests, they let through maybe 1 or 2 who paid the already outrageous regular admission. They’re counting on you to give up and pay more. It’s basically extortion. In 8 hours at the park, the kids barely managed 7 slides in total, and altogether spent about 5–6 hours waiting in line. The food is expensive too, and the queues for food are just as unreasonable. We won’t be coming back, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Oded M — Google review
The water park is huge and offers a wide variety of attractions, with something for everyone. The rides and activities were diverse and a lot of fun. Most of the attractions are outdoors, so weather can make a big difference. The only downside was that the major attractions had long waiting times. We visited on a sunny day, so it wasn’t too bad, but on colder days the wait could be less pleasant, especially for those not used to chilly weather.
Kobi C — Google review
This review is for the aquapark pools and slides, not the hotel. As we were not there The place is great and we spent the full day with kids, even though most of the slides were closed due to winter, it was still lots of fun and not crowded at all , October time
Michael G — Google review
Absolutely fantastic experience at Aqua Park Tatralandia! So many slides, pools, and attractions for every age. The water is warm, everything is clean, and the staff are super friendly. Perfect mix of fun and relaxation — a must-visit when in Slovakia. PS: There was a magician😂
Joe B — Google review
Visited Tatralandia Water Park today. The park is very large, with plenty of seating areas both outdoors and indoors. It can get extremely crowded, which may not be ideal for those who dislike crowds, but it offers a fun experience for most visitors above 120 cm in height. Only a few attractions require a minimum height of 140 cm. There are lockers available for storing belongings, and many restaurants on-site, though prices are relatively high, around €15 for a standard meal and €3 for drinks. The park has a wide variety of attractions and pools. We chose to visit mainly for the wave pools, but unfortunately, they were closed upon arrival. It’s possible to skip the long lines by paying €3 per ride, but this option isn’t available for all attractions and must be paid each time you want to skip the line. If you don’t bring a towel, you can rent one for €4. There is plenty of parking in the complex, including in the main lot.
Lior L — Google review
Unbelievably crowded! Right at the entrance, at every slide (it took even 55 mins today for one of them), at all restaurants in the peak lunch time, and finally a decent queue at the exit to pay the consumption. It's a pity, because the place has very good facilities and potential, it's just the unlimited visitors left in on such a peak day, which creates such a distress.
Lorant D — Google review
Amazing waterpark. Super expensive but we had a wonderful day. We arrived at opening time so we could try all sides already without a wait. Even later during the day there weren't too long lines at the slides. Nice variety of slides. The animation team was fun and they organized fun games. They mostly speak Slovak and Polish though. Even though they can speak English, they spend little time or attention on also announcing their things in English. The volleyball with the huge ball was super fun. There are tons of beds available, so you'll always find one, even though people come in early to claim the best ones with a towel already while hardly using it throughout the day. Spent the entire day here from open to close and still would have loved to spend more time here. Parking is free. With these extreme entrance fees I find it annoying that they charge extra for silly things such as shooting a water canon. They smartly require tapping your wristband for it so you have no clue how much you've spent already. Mixed feelings about the option to pay 3 euro per person per ride to skip part of the waiting lines for slides. Luckily it wasn't so busy when we were there so it gave little to no advantage. Parking is free. Remember to bring sunscreen as most things are outside and with all the excitement you don't notice that you're getting burned. We got sunburned badly, but it was worth it.

Zoo Kontakt

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Zoo Kontakt is an unconventional zoo in Slovakia that offers visitors the unique opportunity to have face-to-face encounters with various animals without barriers or fencing. The zoo provides supervised access to enclosures with lion and bear cubs, as well as an aviary and farm animals. Visitors can interact closely with a wide range of animals, including rabbits, goats, parrots, kangaroos, pelicans, emus, and more.
As a fan of zoo is general, I had to visit this one as it’s on my way, was no planned and located a sign on my way and went immediately. They gathered various of animals in one place, enjoyed myself seeing and taking pictures of animals and they way they designed each animal carrier is actually creative for me, as you can access a tunnel shape from the front to the middle of the carrier and you can see animals up close. Really recommend.
Fahad K — Google review
It was amazing a little bit scary at first, but then felt safe and in good hands. Unforgettable experience!
Miguel G — Google review
I really liked it. We were with children, we left the park last. I liked the environment, it's clean. I liked the animals, that you can get close to them, and some of the less dangerous ones you can pet. And the staff! Separate and fully deserved praise, everyone of them will tell you about the animals, answer questions. Patient, kind and smiling. Recommendation 100 percent.
Lina G — Google review
Great place to spend a day with kids, but interesting place even for the adults and animal lovers. Surroundings of the park is beautiful, colourful flowers are verywhere. You can get inside of some animal enclosure like rabbits, big turtles, snakes even the bears and learn a lot about animals from the staff. You can buy a food and feed some animals too. Apart of animals, there is a lot of others attractions inside as mirror maze, small train around ZOO, paddle boats for kids, carousel, electric cars, trampolines etc. Also there are places for refreshments, or for lunch, so you can spent here all day very easily.
Silvia C — Google review
Nice place—but not much more than that. The large animals—bears, tigers, and lions—look truly distressed in their small, enclosed cages. It felt downright cruel, and all for the sake of entertainment. On the positive side, the petting areas were genuinely pleasant. Petting rabbits was very nice, and so was the area where you could pet wild boars. Those experiences added a softer, friendlier touch to the visit. The little train ride may suit very young children. It departs every 30 minutes for a quick 8-minute loop. The problem is that the schedule is only posted inside the carriage—so there’s no way to know beforehand. We once sat on the train for 22 minutes, clueless as to why it wasn’t moving. And the birds near the train? Their screeching was absolutely deafening. We just wanted to escape that noise. Also, best avoided on hot days—this place doesn’t work well in the heat. Keep that in mind.
Ola T — Google review
You can be very close to the animals and have fun at the same time! The also have a train which goes through the Zoo. Restaurants and you get to see the waterpark slides at the same time! :-) The staff also speak different languages when the talk about animals.
M B — Google review
Excellent programe for 1-2 hours. You can get close with all the animals. Squirrels were running on our bodies, birds were landing on our arms and even heads. The staff is really nice, there is dedicated person for each animal, who tells you basic information and you can ask anything. I took my girlfriend here on her birthday she enjoyed it very much, recommend it for a date, if you like animals.
Gábor V — Google review
Great place, must see place on Slovakia map for all people who like animals. Staff is helpful and know a lot about those animals, they speak english if its needed. Decorations of whole city can bring You realu nice climate. Closeness of nature that You can feel.

Morskie Oko

Mentioned on
3 lists
Lake
Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Morskie Oko, the largest and fourth-deepest lake in the Tatra Mountains, offers stunning views amidst its tree-ringed surroundings. Hiking enthusiasts can embark on an approximately 5-6 hour trail to reach this picturesque destination, starting from Kosciuszki bus station and taking a bus to Palenica Bialczanska before walking along an 8km road.
Morskie Oko is the most beautiful lake in the Polish Tatras and in 2014 The Wall Street Journal recognized it as one of the five most beautiful lakes in the world. Distance from Palenica Białczańskiego car parking to Morskie Oko Lake is 9 km. One option is to either walk on the asphalt road which takes around 3 hrs or another one is a horse-drawn carriage till Włosienica from where Morkie Oko is 1.5 km. There are few spots in between for refreshments and toilets. In peak summer months it is crowded but still worth the visit.
NATURE'S D — Google review
It's a good place to visit. Stunning views, lots of toilets and clean water sources all on the way. You have a pub and cafe on the top and in a few places by the road. All the way takes about 2.5 hours if you take breaks. Even kids are going. I've gotten a little bit upset by the amount of people going on top. Probably I was there in the middle of the season, at the peak time. You cannot launch a drone here, because it's a national park. Swimming and walking out of the path is forbidden, which kills all the adventure vibe. A lot of people are going here from all around the world, but if you want a meditative place and solitude with nature, it's definitely not for you. The road is easy and suitable for anyone at any age. You also can take a horse ride for 100PLN up to the top to get there faster. Views are stunning!
Егор Б — Google review
Great 12 mike hike! Good incline with stair detours. Beautiful lake at the top. Only cons is that it is crowded at the lake and souvenir shop
Joey — Google review
The hike to Morskie Oko is barely a hike — the “trail” is actually a smooth, paved road. It’s about 8 km long and takes roughly an hour and a half to walk. The lake itself is stunning, especially later in the day or later in the season when the crowds have thinned out.
Jipson P — Google review
Visiting Morskie Oko in winter was an unforgettable experience! The lake surrounded by snow-covered peaks looks like a scene from a postcard — truly magical. The trail from Palenica Białczańska was peaceful and quiet compared to summer, making the hike even more enjoyable.
Manan S — Google review
Overcrowded (near 500 or maybe more people in business day) You will spend approximately one or two hours just waiting in the line The lake is okay, but honest recommendation - search another locations (I‘m sure that you definitely find something else and much better not far away from Krakow or in the Tatry area)
Valeria Y — Google review
A great spot. Truly, it was amazing to see the lake and walk around it. Anyone in the area should visit! Pro tip: come early, before all the tourists arrive(there’s always a lot of people here.)
Shay P — Google review
It’s important to understand that this is a beautiful place and definitely worth visiting, but it’s also very crowded. The idea is that you can drive up to a paid parking lot, pay the entrance fee to the national park, and then continue on foot along a paved road. It’s not steep, but you’ll be walking a bit more than 8 kilometers — I think it was around 8.3 km in total. At some point, the road splits — you can either take a shorter but much steeper and more difficult trail, or go the longer, easier way around. There are also horse-drawn carriages that go up, though I don’t remember the price. The line was so long that we decided to walk. There’s also an option to pre-book electric shuttle buses on the official website, but their schedule was confusing — I never quite figured it out. On the way back, you can also take either the electric shuttle or a horse-drawn cart. In any case, even with transport, they drop you off about 1.7 km before the lake, so you’ll need to walk the rest of the way. Along the road, there are eco-toilets, and mountain water flows nearby — you can fill your own bottle or drink from your hands without any problem. There’s also a small shop where you can take a break, but they only accept cash.

Beautiful but too much waiting time for the cable car.

In addition to the heel and toe system, you can go up the hill from Zakopane with a lift. I recommend buying lift tickets in advance. Starting in the morning, queues for buying tickets are usually very long in the summer when the weather is nicer. The lift also has an intermediate station where you can make a change if necessary and change part of the ascent (or descent) to a walking tour. The upper lift station also has restaurants (on two floors, the lower of which is always less crowded), a toilet (for a fee) and a phone charging station (lockable free lockers in the room next to the toilets).

Gubałówka is a majestic mountain in the Polish Tatras, offering hiking trails and a cable car to the top, providing panoramic views of the surrounding area. Visitors can take a cable railway to Gubałówka for a more relaxed experience and explore one of the most popular spots in the region. When you’re in Zakopane, it’s worth visiting at least once. Not sure if I’d go a second time :) After taking the funicular and heading to the right, the area was much calmer — we liked that part. There were walking trails continuing from there, but since we didn’t have much time, we couldn’t explore and don’t know exactly where they lead. We also tried oscypek on that side and it was delicious. The area leading to the church, on the other hand, was extremely crowded, so we didn’t spend much time there before heading back.

It's a pretty mountain range but we had to do a long day trip to see it. Personally, I didn't think it was worth it. The top of the hill has a number of repetitive kiosks of food and souvenirs but it all felt so touristy and commercial. I would not recommend this visit. You do need tickets for the funicular to go up although we saw people hiking - maybe that would've been a more fun activity.

Gubałówka in Zakopane offers stunning views of the Tatra Mountains and town. Funicular ride is easy and scenic. Some people may sell tickets outside at higher prices, but buying at the ticket window, machine, or online is safer and saves time. Great for photos, relaxing, and enjoying the mountain air!

Gubałówka was a great experience, even with the rain! Walking in the mountains was refreshing, and the views were beautiful. There are plenty of shops to eat and buy souvenirs. It’s also very family-friendly with lots of fun activities for kids.

🌄✨ Gubałówka: Where the Sky Meets the Soul ✨🌄 Standing above Zakopane, cradled by the gentle slopes of Gubałówka, where the wind carries whispers of mountain legends and the horizon stretches like a painted dream. At 1,129 meters above sea level, this beloved peak offers more than just a view—it offers a feeling. A hush. A moment suspended in time. The funicular ride itself felt like a passage into another world—glass-roofed, gliding upward as the rooftops of Zakopane fell away and the majestic Tatras rose to greet me. At the summit, wooden stalls brimmed with local crafts, the scent of oscypek and smoked meats danced in the air, and laughter echoed from cozy cafés tucked into the hillside. But it was the panorama that stole my breath: layers of misty peaks, golden light spilling over valleys, and the quiet awe of nature’s grandeur. Gubałówka isn’t just a destination—it’s a reminder to pause, to breathe, to feel. 📸 If you’ve ever been, you know. And if you haven’t—put it on your list. Your heart will thank you.

Just you have to visit. The view is amazing. Highly recommended!!!

Gubalowka is a must visit in Zakopane! The funicular ride to the top is smooth and scenic, offering a quick escape from the busy town center. Once you're up there, the views of the Tatra Mountains are absolutely breathtaking-especially at sunset. The area is well-developed with charming cafés, local food stalls, and shops selling handmade crafts and traditional Polish goods. Whether you're visiting in summer or winter, Gubalowka offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local culture. Highly recommend for a relaxing day with unforgettable views!

Chochołowskie Termy

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Popular water park offering thermal pools, slides, spas & saunas, plus a gym & restaurant.
Awesome experience, there is a large diversity of saunas and pools which have a nice look (although the paintings are kinda kitsch and a bit out of place) with the wooden panels and high ceilings. The textile-free area upstairs is a must for its tranquility and an uncrowded dining area. The slides are also good, it's a pity there are only three of them.

Chochołowskie Termy is an absolutely brilliant destination for relaxation and fun. This sprawling thermal bath complex offers a huge variety of experiences for everyone, from families to couples. The highlight is the sheer number of pools—both indoor and outdoor—with warm, therapeutic thermal waters. Floating in the heated outdoor pools, surrounded by the stunning mountain scenery, is pure bliss. Whether you seek the tranquility of the adults-only Saunarium or the excitement of the waterslides, the facilities are top-notch and beautifully maintained. It's a truly rejuvenating and highly recommended experience

We were family of five and we had amazing time together. Almost 7 hours of extreme, swimming, relaxing and joy! Nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Very clean & well organized place! Strongly recommended! You can enjoy sauna & salt room for free!
LEXUS160879 — Google review
A must visit if you are in the area, I don’t tend to go to spas but this was an unforgettable experience. Everything was so clean, well kept and organised, lockers easy to use, and also liked that you could pay with your wristband so could get drinks in the outdoor thermal baths!! So many different pools to choose from too. I felt like a brand new person after being in the baths and could’ve spend all day here easily!
Izzy F — Google review
Even though we went during a rain storm and in -1°C, the outdoor pools were fantastic. Also the indoor pools and jacuzzi were great. The slides are a must for kids and big kids like me! I'd also highly recommend the spa area.

This was one of our main reasons for visiting Zakopane and we were very glad we did. Lovely warm water and lots of different areas to explore. The signage could be a bit better for finding the pool as even Polish speakers were getting lost.

We spent two days there, and I think I would have stayed longer. I recommend getting the extra sauna package on weekends. We really enjoyed the group sauna service—it's like a show. There's a good selection of food—a home-style bistro or an à la carte restaurant.

We loved the Spa, it exceeded our expectations, the Saunas are great, the demonstrations were done with real enthusiasm. We spent the whole day and wish we could have stayed longer it was fantastic value for money.

The Zywiec Brewery Museum, established in 1856, offers guided tours and an interactive history and manufacturing museum. It is located in the Silesia Province, known as the beer capital of Poland. The museum showcases mockup scenes of historic Zywiec and provides insight into the political history of Southern Poland and its impact on the brewery. Visitors can enjoy a well-laid out tour with multilingual audio guides and bilingual exhibit captions.
Highly recommend this place! History presentation is impressive, it is divided into couple sections and each is very interesting! In the end of the tour beer tasting will be waiting for you, there is non alcohol option for drivers.

The most perfect place for a really good gastronomy experience! The staff is so friendly and helpfull, and the exhibition just WOOW. It’s an interactive exhibition, also in english language, and you can ask for an audio guide. The ticket price contains a mug of beer (alcohol or free), what you can taste in the end of the exhibition. After the pub, you can find a museum shop where you can buy memories from this great place!

Great museum - well thought out and very interactive - the highlight is getting the beer at the end - staff very knowledgeable and friendly - helpful too. Definitely worth a visit

It is worth the time to visit this beer museum. Some Helpful hints for your visit. 1. Google maps will take you to the center entrance but there is on a couple of places to park. I would go to next parking lot about 50m down the road and park there plus there is another entrance right off that parking lot taking you right to where you pay for tickets. 2. You pay for tickets and you get a alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink included. To your left of where you pay is a place to store your jackets 🧥 and they are a decent size. 3. Don't make the same mistake I did. When you face the storage lockers go left not right. If you go right that takes you to free drink and museum store. 4. This museum is modern and interactive. There are many displays that are interactive. One area has an antique bowling alley which was pretty cool to play. 5. Overall great experience and i put many pics in this review to give you an idea of what to expect.

Spas & Wellness
Terma Bania is a large water park complex that offers both indoor and outdoor thermal pools, saunas, steam rooms, and spa facilities. It is now accessible with the same ski pass and has been fully integrated with runs and lifts for the 2019 season. The complex features various pool areas suitable for couples, families, or friends to relax and have fun. Additionally, there are amenities such as a cafe, bar, restaurant, water slides, games, and designated play areas for children.
Bring your own flip flops. Towels are 15PLN each or free if you have sauna zone. Spa area is divided into fun, relax and sauna. There is a sauna in the relax zone. Sauna zone is mixed gender and is naked only. Could see people weren’t comfortable with this and staff shouting at you to take your clothes off isn’t appropriate. Relax zone was really good and had a quiet area and also a bar area. Water is really warm and pleasant to spend a long time in. The whole facility is clean and never felt overcrowded. Fun zone has some cool water slides and wave machines etc Better to book online in advance to save a bit of money. Drinks at the bar were also reasonably priced. Taxi to/from Zakopane was 150 PLN

Love this place! I researched all the other thermal baths in the area, and we chose this one because it looked like the best overall option for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). We visited on a Monday from 1400-1630 (Fun + Relax) and a Thursday from 0900-1200 (Fun zone only). Monday afternoon wasn’t too crowded, and Thursday 0900-1000 was nicely empty, but then huge school groups came in and it was too crowded. We enjoyed the circular rivers and the outdoor pools, as well as the big slides and the attractions for little kids. We obviously enjoyed it enough to come back!
Amanda B — Google review
A Perfect Place – Thermal Baths This spot is perfect for couples, families with kids, and more. There are hot water pools, wave pools, and both small and big slides, including fast ones and even a tube slide you can ride solo or as a pair. There are also outdoor facilities, though I didn’t use them since it was cold, but they looked promising. The place is well-equipped with lockers, showers, changing rooms, and even hair dryers. Around the pools, you’ll find a restaurant and a bar located inside the outdoor pool. Payment is super convenient with a wristband you get upon entry—you just pay for everything at the end. One thing to note: on weekdays, the minimum ticket is for 3.5 hours, while on weekends it’s 2.5 hours. You can, of course, pay extra if you’d like to stay longer.
Sahar A — Google review
It is overcrowded on weekends, too many people, you can not get any sunbed to rest, they are all occupied with other people's towels. It is also crowded in the pools, you barely move among other people trying to find a free space to stay and realax...i reccomend to buy ticket online, it will be cheaper and you will not queue as there is a separate counter for those with online tickets

Really relaxing and clean thermal baths. Surprised how reasonably costed it was and happy to see plenty of pints being ordered before lunch! Really liked the 10 degree cold plunge pool and snow shower. Recommend visiting with friends, family or partner!

One of the best Thermal baths I've ever visited. I've been there twice, once with an Erasmus+ project, and once with my family. Both visits were wonderful. Everything is clean, and in perfect condition. The food is not that expensive, and also good. I totally recommend it for every age, from toddlers up to elderly people. Everyone can find a place there for themselves. If you want to rest, or you want to get some adrenaline while sliding, it's your place in this region.
Gergely H — Google review
Main pools totally rammed with people, not a single lounger free and every tiny space filled to capacity. We paid extra and went to over16's sauna area which was bit better but had a bunch of rules that nobody explained including being naked in all sauna/steam rooms. If your expecting natural thermal springs, or anything like the photos its not. Its Centre Parks with a gazillion people jammed inside. Zakopane nice town for a wander. Our guide was sweet and did his best.

This is a great place for kids. Our kids are 7 and 9 and they enjoyed slides a lot. Much more fun than in Chocholow for this age. Place was getting crowded before lunch time - the best time to leave. Place was clean, several stands offered food and beverages without too much waiting.

Babia Góra National Park

National park
Outdoor Activities
Nestled in the picturesque southern region of Poland, Babia Góra National Park is a captivating nature reserve that beckons outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Dominated by the majestic Babia Góra mountain, which rises to 1,725 meters, this park offers an array of hiking trails that wind through lush forests and stunning landscapes. Accessible from charming mountain towns like Zawoja and Zywiec, it serves as a gateway to adventure for those exploring Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
We started our hike at 3am from the parking near the entrance to the national. Park. Arriving at the summit for sunrise was an amazing experience. Beautiful views and landscape. When going back down we stopped at the shelter for breakfast and coffee und relax in the sun. I would recommend going early because when we arrived back at the parking lot around 11 it started to become realy crowded.

Climb was harder to Sokolica, but to next peaks it went pretty good. Loved it. Beautiful wiew. Wether changes fast, so prepare some warmer and rainproof clothes, even if you think there will be sunny and hot. It took little bit less than 3h to Babia Gòra for totally unprepared people.

Loved hiking in Babia Gora! The routes are difficult, but nothing insurmountable. There is an entrance fee of 5zl, but the routes are well taken care of. There is one cabin half way up where you can have a meal and use the restroom. There are also a couple of rooms/beds to stay over for the night, but they have to be booked in advance. You can pay with debit/credit cards. Not everyone here speaks English, so look up the information about the trails on internet just in case.

Zamek Dunajec w Niedzicy, Stowarzyszenie Historyków Sztuki

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
14th century Gothic castle built on an outcrop overlooking Lake Czorsztyn & iconic symbol of Poland.
Very nice place to spend a relaxing day with family and friends. There is a parking place at the entrance There are some places around where you can eat or drink something. Souvenir shop at the ticket location Slovakian border 10 min away where you can drive to check out near by towns as well. views are incredible
Filip M — Google review
A nice castle that can be explored quite quickly on a self-guided tour. It didn’t offer anything particularly unique, but the castle and surroundings are beautiful – from the walls you can see Czorsztyn Castle across the reservoir, and you can also reach it by boat. The area around the castle is full of stalls and attractions. Unfortunately, the charm of the place is spoiled by the sheer number of tourists – at times it feels literally shoulder to shoulder.
Jozef Š — Google review
Amazing place. There is a big parking lot right in front of the fortress. There is also a toilet there if you need one, I would suggest using it before going in as there are no toilets in the fortress. The fortress is beautiful and kept in good shape! You get a plan before going in so you know where you are. You'll need around one hour for the visit and when youre done, you can walk across the bridge to a nice house in a small forest area. There you can rest outside or buy something from the nice old lady there! Worth seeing!
Isabela R — Google review
Excellent castle and grounds, well worth the visit. There is a lot of steps inside so if you're not so good with steps then might not be for you. Great views from the top of the reservoir and surrounding areas The only thing that let's it down is graffiti in pretty much every area including the walls of the castle upon the entrance. So sad to see.
Arran P — Google review
The parking is too expensive , to start with, as it is anyway an attraction reached mostly by car. They rob you with parking fees in many such places. The castle looks superb among the trees in top of the lake. The entry ticket is also expensive. There are around 15 rooms. All are recreated. The displays are very outdated, information is very limited. Definitely not worth the price, but castles are more expensive attractions. You have to pay for toilet even if you visited the castle!
SVC — Google review
The castle is very nice although it’s a bit small compared to normal castles in Poland. Yet it has very nice view and around 13 rooms to be visited with English explanations. In the entrance you need to ask for English booklet. If you go a bit late, you will come across a huge crowd yet if you go earlier it’s pretty empty.

Czorsztyn Castle

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Czorsztyn Castle, a 15th-century ruin, offers a small exhibition and stunning views of the river valley. It is located near Czorsztyn Lake, an artificial body of water created by a dam on the Dunajec River. The castle's picturesque location provides great photo opportunities and panoramic views of the lake. While it is in ruins and not fully renovated, it still offers an interesting glimpse into its history.
Absolutely breathtaking views from the castle!!! One of my favourite trips around the area. Highly recommend. Entrance to the castle was very cheap as well, you can press a coin you can keep as well, much fun
Poor D — Google review
The view is amazing over the lake but its ok to visit if you are near by, if you are a person who appreciates the history for sure. But as a person who visited a lot of castles and enjoys them I dont think its worth the trip.
Abdullah M — Google review
Wonderful place to visit but be prepared for long walk and toilets are outside the castle.
Saeed B — Google review
An impressive ruin located opposite Niedzica, above the reservoir. However, the interior doesn’t offer that much to see. The small parking lot next to the castle is insufficient, but you can park on a large, uneven grassy area – an alternative paid parking option. From there, it’s just a short walk to the ticket booth, followed by about 5 minutes walk and downhill to the castle, which is less enjoyable on the way back.
Jozef Š — Google review
Worth visiting. nice views and full of historic information The walk way to the castle is tiring
Abu Y — Google review
There’s a fence from both sides of the castle entrance , so you can’t take a walk around the castle. Guy collecting the parking fee was super greedy - he asked for 3€ even though the castle was already closed and he left 10mins later (I found empty and at that time already free parking 100 meters back the road.) The castle looks nice from the distance, but I’m not sure if it is worth going inside.

Skansen Taboru Kolejowego w Chabówce

History museum
Museums
Locomotives, passenger carriages & steam-train rides in an outdoor museum at a former railway depot.
This is a fantastic railway museum. Unlike railway museums in the UK they have exhibits which aren't fully restored and some of them you are free to touch and climb into. So it's possible to get hands on with the exhibits. Obviously, care is needed but if you are nimble enough you can climb onto a steam engine and have a look inside. A very special place.
Andy P — Google review
Their locomotives and rolling stock need a bit more care and attention. For example, there is a large stock of engines that are simply rusting away. It would be better if they gave these locomotives a new paint job to make them look tidy, but it is still a good railway museum for Polish steam engines. I mean, I am glad that there are a few locomotives in the roster that are in service, such as Ty42-107 and Tkt48-191.
Marek K — Google review
This is a museum where you can climb everywhere, you can twist everything and touch everything. There are a lot of locomotives and a large area. Interesting exhibits, friendly employees. A place for both children and adults. I would add some kind of railcar so that you can ride on it)
Margarita Z — Google review
Skansen Taboru Kolejowego w Chabówce is a railway enthusiasts' paradise that showcases the country's rich railway heritage. The open-air museum is home to a remarkable collection of steam locomotives, vintage railway carriages, and historical artifacts. Visitors can explore the beautifully restored trains, climb aboard for an immersive experience, and learn about the evolution of railway technology. The knowledgeable staff provides informative guided tours and fascinating insights into the history and operation of the exhibits. The scenic location amidst the Tatra Mountains adds to the charm and ambiance of the museum. Skansen Taboru Kolejowego w Chabówce is a must-visit destination for both railway aficionados and those seeking a unique glimpse into Poland's transportation history.
Dante F — Google review
I'm a mechanical engineering enthusiast so having the opportunity to touch trains like that is always great fun for me. This place unlike other train museums I've visited has some of the biggest steam locomotives that were in service in Poland. It truly is an underrated spot and worth visiting. Unfortunately most of the cars on display are closed which is a shame, but the locomotives seem to be mostly accessible and some of them even run. I'm sure there are bigger and more interesting train museums but I've yet to visit one.

Rabkoland

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Amusement park with family-friendly themed rides, including a Ferris wheel & a Viking village.
Perfect, not much attractions but it managed to drain the batteries of our son (5yo). You can get food for normal prices in comparison with Austrias Family Park which is huge compared to Rabkoland, but the prices are also huge there. Waiting times were acceptable and parking without issues. We bought the tickets before so you just scan them and you can enter.
Francoa B — Google review
Was wonderful for my seven year old child and the cousin. Clean, safe, with very helpful and pleasant staff. Big enough to entertain for the day but small enough to not be overwhelming. My daughter is already talking about going back.
Shawn L — Google review
A perfect amusement park for smaller kids, many rails they could go to and almost everything is included in the price.
Christopher G — Google review
Rabkoland is a nice amusement park, but it’s definitely smaller compared to Familypark in Austria. It’s really best suited for kids up to about 10 years old – the attractions are tailored more for younger children. The food was a pleasant surprise: lots of options, tasty, and noticeably cheaper than what we’re used to in Familypark. We went there in the morning and managed to try almost all the rides without much waiting. After lunch, though, it got much busier and the queues grew to about 15–20 minutes per attraction. Overall, it’s a fun and affordable day trip if you have smaller kids, but older children might find it less exciting.
Martin O — Google review
This is absolutely perfect place for kids to spent a day. It's worth the money you pay. So many beautiful and funny attractions, all surrounded by flowers and trees. From the first step even me I felt like in fairy tale. We were in august and queues haven't been long at all. I like that park is especially for the little ones, from 2 to 10 years best I would say. Parents can enjoy many attraction with kids which is definitely plus. Big choice of tasty food for affordable prices as well. Fan for all day. Definitely recommend to visit.

Family House of the Holy Father John Paul II Museum in Wadowice

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the charming town of Wadowice, the Family House of the Holy Father John Paul II Museum offers a captivating glimpse into the early life of Pope John Paul II. Located on ulica Koscielna, right next to the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this modern museum is housed in what was once his family home. Visitors can explore an array of photographs, furniture, and memorabilia that tell stories from his formative years.
This is the reason why we went to Krakow, to get closer to St John Paul II. His life story in itself is very much inspiring. The audio guide can also be downloaded on the phone but make sure to bring your ear/headphones otherwise pay a small amount from the museum. A very well worth visit.

What is there not to like about this place, the home of our greatest ever Pope, absolutely fantastic museum about his life, and especially about his childhood... I came late to the door so was the last to go round the muzeum. It was a shame since they had closed down the multimedia elements of the museum. Exhibits give a good flavour of JPII his life, times and achievements.

Visiting the hometown and the home of St John Paul II was a dream come true as Catholics. My husband and I learned so much about the late pope’s life which was built around Wadowice and enriched by the loving and faithful family he had. The museum was nicely organized. I could have given 5 stars if only we did not encounter some bombastic staff inside especially considering that they are supposedly helping visitors in a place where a great pope and now saint once lived.

Very big and interesting. Such a beautiful museum. They gave us headphones and a small radio so we could understand more about the Pope's life and childhood. As in prices very cheap and worth visiting.

Sanktuarium Pasyjno-Maryjne

Pilgrimage place
Sights & Landmarks
A busy pilgrimage place, this Mannerist architectural & park landscape complex sits on 380 hectares.
Definitely worth a visit! You can see there is much care put into the church and grounds. A lively parish, with a large group attending a weekday noon mass.

I was here to walk the trail. This church was the starting point of my walk. I spent about 3 hours to finish the whole circle. There are many chapels and other monuments along the trail. Very nice and quiet walk all along the way. The scenery along the route is very nice. The only issue I found is that English information is scarce. I barely found any information I can read about along the trail. If you do not speak Polish, you may need t o read about the trail and its history online in advance to have a better understanding.

Beautiful place with some fantastic views. 1. Try to visit when there is not a mass. 2. You can park along street all the way up to the top of Hill. 3. They have a main information window to the right of main entrance if you come up and enter from the bottom of the hill with statues above wall. 4. They also have tours at the information booth. 5. Remember to silence cell phone. 6. Bathroom is located directly behind (Rear entrance) in separate building in court yard. From rear entrance look to the right corner of courtyard you will see WC sign. Cost is 4 ZL cash and no credit card.

Rooms are not clean, The restaurant is not clean too and they speak just polish, I thought i will have bread with the meals but when I asked after buying my meal, they asked me to wait again on the line for 20 minutes to buy it, Rests can stay on the table for 2 hours

This chapel is an important stop for pilgrims to visit places important from the context of Pope John Paul II's life. On a hill, the view from the church lets you see miles into the beautiful landscape. The church built centuries ago is imposing and the frescos on the ceilings and walls are artistically done. There are showcases of the former Pope's visits and most of the content printed is in Polish. The confession boxes are wooden and interestingly crafted for privacy. The church premises are undergoing renovation and wheelchair and stroller accessibility can be better.

Absolutely stunning place! Kalwaria Zebrzydowska park is a Mannerist architectural and park landscape complex plus a pilgrimage park, built in the 17th century as the Counter Reformation in the late 16th century led to prosperity in the creation of calvaries in Catholic Europe. The park was added in 1999 to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The site is also one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii) and tracked by the National Heritage Board of Poland. This place is just mesmerising and you can fell something divine in the air, it’s truly a special place. They have also a some gastronomy there so you’ll never get hungry hah. P.S. Read about a history and fix your purpose before you go there!

Zatorland Amusement Park is a thrilling destination featuring animatronic dinosaurs, giant insects, mythical creatures, and classic funfair rides. The park offers various activities for both children and adults, with different themed zones including attractions like Dino Park. Families with young kids will find it especially enjoyable, as there are dedicated areas for children's cars and insect models. Visitors can also explore the impressive dinosaur section and relax in the serene Old Greece-themed zone by the large lake.
It is one of the greatest places for kids. The place has 4 different parts, first right after the entrance games for kids from age 3 to 12 or even 15. The speed and height of the games are very reasonable, which builds confidence for kids to get used to such games. The second and nest part that my son and daughter loved is the Dinosaur park. I was amazed with the path the number of different types of Dinosaurs they had with actual size. Very nice and great learning experience for kids. The other parts were also good. But the first two were the best. I highly recommend families with small children to fist this over Energy Land as it has both games and learning experience.

We came to the park with two children, ages 5 and 8, at the end of August during the week. The park is large and not crowded at all, with plenty of activities for all ages. We hardly had to wait in line for any of the rides. Everything is clean and well-organized. The only downside is that food and drinks are a bit expensive, so it’s a good idea to bring plenty of water, as you can easily spend at least 6 hours here.
שרי ה — Google review
great for kids 4-8 yo. large areas with trees, great during hot days. okish gastro, good grill. popular and crowded - late hours like 3pm+ are amazing and cheaper than noon. easily 6h of active fun for your kid. quite expensive, but worth it. these dinosaurs are moving! their skin is 1 level worse than in jurapark, but trex type dinos are great, especially their tails :D photos from mitology park. Kinda hated insects park, because its small, tight, hot and crowded, yet the kid enjoyed the rides.

Fantastic place for whole family and for whole day, different activities possible, places in shadows, great fun. Foods on horrible price level, recommend take your own.

We recently visited Zatorland and had a truly memorable experience, especially in the dinosaur park! My 3-year-old daughter was thrilled to encounter the dinosaurs, impressively naming each one before we could even read the descriptions. This section of the park was a fantastic educational journey into the prehistoric era for her! However, while the dinosaur exhibits were a hit, I feel there are areas for improvement that could enhance the experience for families with young children. One concern is the height requirement for ticket purchases. Children over 90 cm are charged full entry, yet there aren't many attractions tailored for kids in the 90-110 cm height range. Considering this, it would be reasonable to adjust the charging policy to start from 100 cm, similar to other European or UK amusement parks, or alternatively, add more suitable rides for toddlers. Additionally, the walking paths throughout the park are covered with gravel, which creates a dusty environment and can be harsh when children fall. A smoother, resin-bonded, or asphalt pathway would not only reduce the risk of bruises from falls but would also make it easier for kids to ride scooters and for parents to push prams. Despite these points, our overall experience was very positive. The joy and excitement seen on my daughter's face as she explored the different dinosaurs were priceless. We recommend Zatorland to all families, especially those with young dinosaur enthusiasts!

The place is huge, divided into 4 sections, allot of things to see and do. It’s smart design. minimal waiting time in line, not crowded at all, bathrooms are clean We read previous reviews it should fit children under 10 yo, we came with our 9 and 13 yo, both had a great time and were not bored one bit. We spent there 7 hours. Was fun!

We visited this park, and we were pleasantly surprised. The park is especially suitable for children, they have many activities to do. There are climbing frames, merry-go-rounds, dinosaurs and various other things. What we didn't like is that there is no full-fledged food in the area, only fast food.

Energylandia is a large amusement park located in Zator, Poland, featuring an impressive array of 17 roller coasters and various water rides. The park offers thrilling experiences for visitors of all ages, with some rides designed to scare even the bravest souls. Such a cool theme park!! I loved it here so much. It's very clean and the coasters are so well maintained, they were all very smooth. I do really recommend spending at least 2 days here so you can take your time going on everything, there is a LOT to do!! A must visit if you enjoy roller coasters

Amazing theme park chock full of incredible roller coasters, Zadra being immense - ride it in the dark which elevates it to an entirely new level. Great value for money , ample car parking, tge park was fresh and clean. A great experience
Wayne D — Google review
I visited Energylandia because I was curious about the largest amusement park located near Slovakia. And I must say that I was satisfied. And that was right from the moment I parked my car, which I parked in a huge parking lot located right next to the amusement park. I must note that even though the ticket price is not the lowest, parking is paid separately (7 €/day). The amusement park premises are beautiful, decorated, pleasant movie music plays everywhere and you feel like you are in a fairy tale. There are many shops, restaurants and vending machines. Given that Energylandia has chosen a policy in the style of "buy a full-day ticket and all attractions are included in the price", it is logical that there are queues for each attraction - from 10 to 60 minutes (depending on what day / period you visit Energylandia). One ride lasts about 30 to 90 seconds. However, many of them are worth waiting for, as they offer maximum experience and adrenaline (e.g. speed of 144 km/h or overload up to 4G). You can watch the waiting time on several screens in the park or you can download their mobile application. A practical service is renting boxes to put things away (because you can't wear a cap/glasses/bag, etc. while riding). All you need to do is buy a bracelet (approx. €4), using which you can then always open one box at each attraction. Energylandia really offers an experience for people who like speed and adrenaline. They just have to wait for it :) I definitely recommend it.

The biggest amusement park in Poland! Lots of different rollercoasters, including extremely scary and more simple of kids and family. It's worth to spend there the whole day, they have everything you need. Very convenient system of storage boxes, you buy once for 17zl and can reuse it near every rollercoaster endless time. Also train station is very close, you can get by train from Krakow glowny within 1 hour for 12 zl, train goes every hour.

Without a doubt the best theme park I’ve ever been too, had a lot of fun! Rides are amazing. Something does need to be done about line cutters, did have a bunch of kids jump in line on Mayan by jumping over the wall. Overall an incredibly pleasant experience, everything’s is reasonably well priced and affordable.

This park is awesome! I love their locker system here, it’s very convenient and easy to use. They have lockers almost at every single ride so you can put your backpack or bag in there hassle free! The rollercoasters here are amazing. This park is better than the Six Flags parks I’ve been to. I recommend :)

The amusement park is really big. Next time we will definitely buy the multiple day ticket. We went on Saturday so it was packed. We chose a day that was super hot, but they had stations with water sprayers so that was nice. Waiting time were quite long which we expected as we went on a weekend. Other than that it was great! Even the water park for the kids! Highly recommend to check out this park!

Located on the outskirts of Krakow in South Poland, the Wieliczka Salt Mine is a 13th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest and most stunning salt mines globally. It features underground tunnels, chapels, chambers, saline lakes, and offers themed tours suitable for all ages. The mine showcases an interactive history of medieval European mining techniques and houses remarkable artworks hundreds of meters below ground.
It was absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend visiting! The tour lasts about 2–3 hours and is split into two parts: the salt mine itself and a museum tour afterwards. You can skip the museum if you’re tired. I paid 143 Zł, which I think is totally fair for such a unique experience. The tour guide was fantastic—very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and open. There’s a lot of walking and many stairs,😂 so I’d recommend comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for moving around. It’s definitely suitable for children above a certain age and for older visitors as long as they’re fairly mobile, but it’s not ideal for anyone with limited mobility. As for the highlights: the first massive hall was breathtaking, the two underground lakes were stunning, the underground church was on another level, and the final hall left me completely amazed. All in all, I learned so much that day and had an unforgettable adventure. An absolute must-see!
SAKI — Google review
An absolutely incredible experience and one of the real highlights of our trip. The Wieliczka Salt Mine completely exceeded expectations. It’s vast, beautifully lit and full of fascinating history. The scale of it is hard to take in until you’re actually down there, walking through the tunnels and chambers carved entirely from salt. The guided tour was excellent, with just the right mix of facts, humour and storytelling. The underground chapels and sculptures are astonishing, and it’s amazing to think they were all hand carved by miners. Every turn reveals something unexpected, from chandeliers made of salt crystals to huge caverns that feel almost otherworldly. It’s well organised, easy to reach from Krakow, and surprisingly comfortable even deep underground. I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s one of those rare places that truly lives up to the hype.

A must when visiting Krakow. We booked through Krakow Direct and were picked up/dropped off at our hotel for the tour. Short walk across road to the Salt Mines where Justine, our tour guide was superb and witty. There are lots and lots and lots of steps to go down. Thankfully you don't have to walk back up! Such a marvel of human achievement from centuries ago. The sheer size of this place is mind blowing. To think tourists only get to see less than 2% of it is difficult to comprehend. You will need comfortable shoes and it can get warm with all the walking. The chapels are breathtaking and the sculptures are fantastic. Truly worth a visit and at several points along the tour you can purchase memorabilia which is really well priced which is unusual for a tourist attraction. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I visited the salt mine in early October. It is an awe-inspiring place. We would highly recommend a visit. The history is fascinating and the cathedral is spectacular. Our guide, Natalie, was excellent. She was positive, engaging, insightful, and energetic. We had an amazing and memorable time. The tour is quite long (2+ hours) and you do walk over 3 km, descending down through the mine over 100 meters by a mix of ramps and stairs. Good news, you take an elevator back up.
David D — Google review
Impressive mines Yes the mines are absolutely incredible when you consider the engineering and work it took to carve out all those passageways and huge underground halls. Then there's the intricate statues sculpted out of the salt which are incredible. There are also natural wonders such as the underground lakes. You can easily spend up to a day there if the guides would only allow you - but with the crowds they want to move people along. You NEED the guides otherwise you'd get lost in the labyrinth. You are provided with headphones so you can always hear what they're saying. We had Nicholas - he was a lovely guy, but .... could talk less, if I'm honest. At one stage he offered us the option to talk more or talk less. I would have opted for less, but people were too nice/polite and didn't want to hurt his feelings so opted for more. So after a lot of his monotone warbling (sorry Nicholas) I just removed the headphones and took in the beauty of the place for myself. Well worth seeing though
Gavin — Google review
Very interesting and impressive tour. Multiple huge caverns made for a rather different underground experience to all the caves I've previously been in. We even had a nice meal in the underground restaurant before heading back to the surface.
Richard — Google review
I really enjoyed the tour, good information. Amazing views (inside 😄), I can't describe it and the pictures don't do it any justice. The mine is absolutely amazing, the size, the beauty, the effort and detail on the handcrafted figures, everything really. Some of the rooms you enter are just jaw dropping, yout mind just goes to wonder how did someone build this. The temperature is really nice inside, 14-17c at all times, I was happy in a t-shirt but some people had light jackets on. There are loads of gift shops at the exit and they sell everything that the underground ones do, so unless you want to carry bags throughout the tour, buy your gifts at the exit. I tried the restaurant before the return to the surface and it was great. Good food and good quantity. I will be returning in the future. For management, I just have two suggestions...One, please try to get some radio relays in the tunnels as the signal was very bad of you were in the back of the tour group. Two, bigger gaps between tours would be great, just to give more time to see some of the areas in more detail. But overall amazing.
Fabio C — Google review
While the salt mine is interesting to visit and quite impressive with its man-made chambers, corridors and chapels, the overall experience is a 'hit and miss' at best. As you can only visit on an organised tour, a lot depends on the guide you'll get. We went on a pre-booked English-language tour (they start every 30 min) and were very unlucky with our guide. He spoke a very basic, heavily accented, broken English, which was hard to follow and at times bordering on comical. His commentary was devoid of substance and repetitive, mostly stating the obvious. We didn't learn anything interesting about the mine, its history or its current use. Most of the 'installations' were dated and very kitchy. The tour was rushed, with large groups of tourists constantly encroaching on each other's space. In summary: was it interesting? Yes. Was it worth the effort and money? Not so sure.

Kazimierz, the former Jewish district of Krakow, has a rich history dating back to the 14th century when Jewish people first settled in this area. The architecture here is notably different from the main city and reflects centuries of coexistence between Catholics and Jews. Visitors can explore significant historical sites such as King Kazimierz's legacy, St. Stanislaus' well, remnants of the original ghetto wall, and Schindler's factory.
This is a wonderful district to stay in, I would recommend staying here instead of the city centre. I enjoyed old streets, Jewish shops, cafes. Very authentic and colorful.

This is a very pretty area of the city and not too far to walk from the Old City. It has a tragic history and there are lots of monuments and information boards detailing the events of the 1940's and later that caused the Jewish population to plummet so dramatically. I walked around one evening to take some photos and it was quiet and felt safe although it is more run down and has graffiti and litter that you don't see in the Old City. Lots of nice cafes too!

We took a golf buggy tour around Kazimierz and the Getto with Romeo and his wife who were excellent guides taking us to some very interesting places and telling us all about the history including all about King Kazimierz and Ester, St Stanislaus and visiting his well ,the war and showing us part of the original getto wall and schindler's factory to name just a few. This area of Krakow is a must visit with so much history and its also a very lively area with no end of places to eat and drink.

Perched on a hilltop, the Wawel Royal Castle-State Art Collection in Krakow boasts a rich history dating back to the 14th century. Overlooking the medieval city and Vistula River, it holds great significance for Poles, symbolizing their country's past glory under powerful monarchs. Despite no longer serving as a royal residence, it remains a unifying symbol for the Polish people.
The Wawel Royal Castle, on the Wawel Hill, is one the most, historically and culturally, important sites in Poland. Used to be the residence of kings in the past, the castle is now one very important art museum. You need 4-5 hours to visit all chambers and see all the art exhibits. A collection of paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, tapestry, arms and armor, ceramics.. There is an entrance fee for the most rooms, but there are some parts you can visit for free. Do not miss a walk around the hill, it's truly fantastic if the weather is good!

Wawel Royal Castle is a beautiful trip that is definitely worth the visit! The architecture is impressive and full of history, offering an enriching cultural experience. Furthermore, its location provides a beautiful view of the river Vistula, perfect for photos and relaxation. To complete the visit, make sure to see the famous Wawel Dragon statue, which, to everyone's delight, breathes fire every 10 minutes! It's a fun detail that appeals to all ages. The attraction is very well maintained, and the whole complex is a must-see tourist spot in Poland.

Visiting the Wawel Royal Castle–State Art Collection is an unforgettable experience that beautifully blends art, architecture, and history. Perched above the Vistula River, the castle offers breathtaking views of Kraków and an atmosphere that feels almost timeless. Every corner of the complex tells a story — from the grand royal chambers to the intricate tapestries and stunning Renaissance courtyards. The State Art Collection is incredibly well curated, showcasing exquisite works that highlight Poland’s royal heritage and artistic legacy. The Crown Treasury and Armoury, in particular, are a must-see for anyone interested in medieval craftsmanship and regal splendor. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, eager to share insights and answer questions, making the experience even more enriching. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and there’s plenty of space to wander, reflect, and take in the history that surrounds you. Whether you’re an art lover, a history enthusiast, or simply a traveler in search of beauty and culture, Wawel Castle is an absolute gem — a true symbol of Poland’s enduring spirit and elegance.

The Wawel Royal Castle Gardens in Kraków are a beautifully restored part of Poland’s most iconic historic site. Nestled on Wawel Hill, the gardens offer a serene escape from the city, with meticulously arranged flower beds, manicured lawns, and stunning views over the Vistula River. They blend Renaissance design with natural charm, evoking the elegance of royal life while maintaining a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere. The State Art Collection housed within Wawel Castle is equally impressive. It features masterpieces of European art, exquisite tapestries from the 16th century, royal portraits, and priceless artifacts from Poland’s regal past. Highlights include the famous Flemish tapestries commissioned by King Sigismund II Augustus and an exceptional collection of Renaissance and Baroque art. Together, the gardens and the art collection make Wawel not only a symbol of Polish heritage but also a living museum of art, architecture, and nature — a must-see for any visitor to Kraków!

This is a very impressive castle. We booked a tour so that we could learn a lot, but there is so much to see that the tour felt kind of fast. Book based on your personal preference - if you wish to linger maybe go with an audio guide. It’s very interesting and a wonderful place to visit.

A must do if you're visiting Kraków. The exterior grounds themselves are free to roam as you please, you will only need to pay to access the exhibitions inside the interior rooms of the castle. I will advise you that the tickets for the cathedral and rest of the castle attractions are sold in separate ticket booths. These tickets booths are clearly signposted however so you should have no issue in getting around. Also you must buy individual tickets for each of the attractions that you wish to visit during your time at the castle. All in all, it's a great day out for all the family and you can spend several hours here getting to see all of the great exhibits that are on display. There are also ample facilities for food, storing bags and toilets (which you can use your entrance ticket to access for free).

This is by far the most impressive castle I saw in Poland and it's huge. Divided by multiple sections, I strongly encourage you visit the jewels and weapons section and the 2nd floor, but if you hace time, everything is worth checking! Absolutely beautiful works of art renovated perfectly or kept pristine, an audioguide is strongly recommended so you can understand more the context behind some of the things. The dragon's den I considered it to be Meh, only visit it at the end upon exit if you want, but truth be told you won't waste much if you skip it. Gardens are beautiful albeit small. You'll need to leave your luggage upon visiting, but it's free storage so more than encouraged. A must see if you visit Kraków

Wawel Castle is without doubt one of the most impressive and historically important sites in Kraków, and a symbol of Polish heritage. Perched on Wawel Hill above the Vistula River, it combines beautiful Renaissance courtyards, Gothic towers, and breathtaking views over the city. Walking through the royal chambers, the armory, and the treasury, you get a real sense of the centuries of power and culture that shaped Poland. The nearby Wawel Cathedral, with its chapels and royal tombs, is equally remarkable and deeply moving, as it is the final resting place of Polish kings, queens, and national heroes. Even if you don’t go inside, the grounds are worth exploring for the atmosphere and panoramic views. This is a place where history, art, and architecture come together in a truly unique way. Absolutely essential on any visit to Kraków.

Wawel Cathedral, located in Cracow, is a significant site for Polish history and culture. It has been the coronation venue for Polish monarchs and is the resting place of numerous kings, national heroes, writers, and artists. The cathedral houses remarkable chapels such as the Holy Cross Chapel with Byzantine frescoes and works by renowned artists like Veit Stoss. Additionally, it features impressive Renaissance artwork in the Sigismund Chapel.
A piece of art, inside out. The magnificence of the interior is astonishing, with amazing tapisseries, vaults, kings tombs, poets tombs, and beautiful small chapels along the right wing of the cathedral. Not to forget to climb in search for the 3 bells in the tour.

I didn’t go inside the buildings; we only walked around the open area. Honestly, the architecture isn’t much different from what you find in other classic European cities, but still, I think it’s one of those places you need to visit at least once. It gives you the feeling of truly experiencing the city, even if it’s not something completely unique.

Wawel Cathedral is truly magnificent – a place where history and architecture meet in breathtaking harmony. The bells are especially impressive, resonating with a deep, solemn beauty that fills the entire space. Visitors should be mindful, however, that some stairways are quite steep and certain passageways can be narrow. Despite this, the experience is unforgettable, offering a remarkable glimpse into centuries of heritage and craftsmanship.
Neringa V — Google review
The beautiful and architecturally impressive Wawel Cathedral is a sight to behold. The stunning golden globe that adorns the roof is surrounded by detailed and ornate elements that collectively make up this stunning cathedral.
Christopher L — Google review
Stepping into Wawel Cathedral feels like crossing a threshold where time softens its grip. The air carries that unmistakable mix of incense, candle wax, and centuries of whispered prayers, as if the walls themselves still exhale the devotion of those who came before. Light falls gently through the high windows, illuminating gilded chapels, velvet draped altars, and the resting places of saints, bishops, and kings. The great bell above, massive and solemn, seems carved out of history itself. It is easy to imagine it thundering across Krakow, calling the faithful, announcing triumphs and tragedies, marking the passage of a nation. Inside the cathedral, the silver sarcophagi glimmer like frozen waves, each one guarding a life that shaped Poland’s story. The shrine of Saint John Paul II radiates a quiet warmth, a reminder of a shepherd who rose from these very stones to guide the world. Every corner feels purposeful. The carved choir stalls, the tapestries telling ancient tales, and the golden dome gleaming softly over the chapels all draw the mind toward the sacred. Candles burn steadily, their flames small but insistent, mirroring the devotion of those who come here seeking strength or peace. You feel the weight of prayers layered one upon another, like soft footsteps echoing across centuries. Wawel Cathedral is more than a monument. It is a living sanctuary where faith and history intertwine. Saints share space with monarchs, and the spiritual sits comfortably beside the political, each shaping the identity of this land. Visiting it is a reminder that some places are built not just of stone, but of memory, longing, and the human desire to reach for something higher. A quiet moment here lingers long after you leave, like the fading scent of incense on a winter coat, urging reflection and steadying the heart for the journey ahead.

Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory

Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory, located in the old industrial district between Podgorze and Kazimierz, is a museum that pays homage to the remarkable courage of Oskar Schindler during the Nazi occupation of Krakow. The factory, immortalized in Steven Spielberg's film 'Schindler's List,' was where over 1,200 Jews were saved from concentration camps through employment.
This guided tour was only a little about Schindler as it walks you through the story of Poland in WW2 from different perspectives. Very informative and the hour and a half tour was the perfect length. Our guide spoke clearly and concisely (in English) and was very engaging as she told this fascinating story. We booked tickets and tour online which was a great choice: we skipped the long queue out front and were ushered inside first when our time came. I highly recommend this tour and the guide is so worth it. We definitely would not have got the depth of understanding if we’d gone in on our own. I was deeply moved at various points; this is an experience I will not forget.

We visited Schindlers factory on rhe first day of our trip to Krakow. We had been in the city about 10 years ago and missed it then so wanted to make sure we got there this time. Firstly this is less a tour of Oskar Schindler's factory anf more a WW2 museum that just happens to be in the same building that Oskar Schindler happened to use. There isnt a lot about Schindler and his workers. Most of it is about the war in Krakow and Poland. Very informative but something you need to know if you are specifically going to see the factory from the film. If you are going with that in mind you may be disappointed. But if you want to learn about WW2 in Krakow then this will be the place for you. Another tip. Book in advance and get a skip the queue ticket. We didnt and when we joined the queue it didnt seem too long maybe 100 people in front of us. It took over 2 hours to get in. Every ten or fifteen minutes around 10 people would get in. Meanwhile dozens got in via skip the queue in the same time. So dont queue. Book a skip the queue tour. But that said we enjoyed the visit and would highly recommend it.

An excellent museum that covers the entire lived history of the Jews in Krakow during the Nazi regime, the emergence of Oskar Schindler and his amazing role in saving thousands of them. Excellent displays, wonderful recreations and maps and documents. Very poignant. Very good.

A must visit. Get here early, as there was a queue at opening. The permanent exhibition is great, and you go around the actual factory. If you remember the film, you'll see the iconic entrance/ staircase. Ignore the website about ticket availability and the sign on the door. Worth the queue time.

A must see , made better by watching the fantastic Schindler's List to get an additional appreciate of events. Tour guide (via Get Your Guide) was informative and knowledgeable. Earphones provided with this program and skip the queue also, as your booked in at a certain Time
Emmet507 — Google review
Really interesting museum with lots of information and exhibits. We queued on the day, morning, to get entry. They were letting people in 10 at a time. Took us about 30 mins to get in - the queue was much bigger in the afternoon. The biggest downside to the museum is the sheer amount of tours going through it. Some of the corridors are too narrow for 20 ppl+ groups to just stand around and listen to a guide. If you get caught behind one group it’s a nightmare to get past. Maybe consider limiting the amount of group tours passing through.
Andrew G — Google review
Very atmospheric and well thought out. Seeing the old factory turned into a museum and the history within is truly like time travel. Highly recommend getting tickets and a reservation in advanced; and if you do, do not wait outside with the others, simply walk in within your scheduled tour time. My only gripe with the experience is the annoying tour groups you have to squeeze through in the exhibit. Not only can they block your way, but the actual museum does not make a profit from these people! Why the museum has not address this is unknown but the staff there definitely share the sentiment that something should be done about these groups.
Axel L — Google review
Booked tickets via their website before we travelled to Krakow. You can risk queuing but it's nice to have piece of mind that to are assured a slot. We booked an English speaking tour of the factory. The tour/factory is a deep dive into Krakow's role in WW2, not just about Oscar Schindler. It's a fantastic, immersive museum with well-thought out exhibits. It takes you on a journey through the war years. Absolutely recommend the museum. The tour was great for us, but if you want to spend time reading all the exhibits then do it without a guide.

MNK Sukiennice, also known as the Cloth Hall, is a Renaissance-style market arcade located in Krakow Market Square. Built in the 13th century and later renovated in the Renaissance era, it has been a hub for silk and crochet merchants. This historic site is part of the Krakow Old Town UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses a 19th-century Polish art museum on its upper floor.
Chanced upon an amazing collection of massive historical paintings on the upper floor. We took the lift. Some dark and provoking stuff. A lot of visitors due to complimentary entry. Keep your backpacks in the cloak room though. Small exhibit but enough to impress us while hanging out in Old Town.

Such a nice surprise right in the middle of the Main Square. The gallery is small but full of beautiful Polish paintings. It’s calm and not too crowded, so you can really enjoy the art. Great way to take a break from the busy streets outside

The market is great; most things are well priced and theres a huge assortment of stuff. The underground museum was grest. The square is great. Spend a couple days exploring the area and you wont regret it.

We really enjoyed the market hall as we have not had too much experience with them before. It's definitely crowded, but the shops lining both sides are fun to peruse and purchase from. We got our 'travel ornament' from one of the vendors.

A wonderful place, full of people. I was lucky enough to visit this place in good weather. One of the most beautiful squares I have had the opportunity to visit so far. Krakow certainly deserves not to be a stopover, but to be visited with care, because there is a lot to see in this city. I certainly hope to come here again

Sukiennice (The Cloth Market) is a very nice feature on the main square in Cracow. There is an art gallery upstairs, bar with a roof terrace on top and underground there's an interactive museum about the history of this place. Inside there are market stalls with souvenirs, clothes, swords etc. The only downside is the prices are very high, but sometimes one can find a bargain. It's a must seen site in the city.

I chose to purchase amber jewellery from booth #44 as he volunteered trading hour information without my asking. I only skimmed his wares as I was on my way to Auschwitz, but I kept my word and bought three pieces from him later before closing. I did not know amber came in such an array of colours. I very much appreciate his pieces clearly had prices attached. Buy from #44))

The Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) is a gem right in the middle of Kraków’s Main Square! Once a medieval trade hub, today it’s full of souvenir stalls where you can find everything from amber jewelry to local crafts. I loved wandering through its arches and feeling the mix of history and daily life. Don’t miss the art gallery upstairs for a quiet escape. Best time to visit? Late afternoon – fewer crowds and beautiful light for photos!

Rynek Główny

Plaza
Sights & Landmarks
Rynek Główny, also known as the Main Market Square, is a large medieval town square with a rich history dating back to the 13th century. It is surrounded by impressive palaces and churches, including notable sites such as St. Mary's Basilica, the Town Hall Tower, and the Cloth Hall. Spanning 40,000 meters in size, it holds the title of being the largest medieval market in Europe.
Before the car ban, before the selfie sticks, before the pigeons unionized and claimed squatter’s rights on every statue, Rynek Główny was a quieter kind of majestic. I remember sitting on the old fountain ledge, legs dangling, watching Fiats roll past like they had somewhere important to be, which, in Kraków, usually meant a café or a cousin’s name day. There were no tourists then, just locals and the occasional accordion player who looked like he’d been playing since the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Now, the square is a theatrical masterpiece. It’s the largest medieval town square in Europe, and it flaunts that fact with the confidence of a peacock in a velvet smoking jacket. The Cloth Hall stands like a Renaissance handbag, full of amber and embroidered napkins, while St. Mary’s Basilica plays its hourly hejnał like Kraków’s heartbeat, a truncated trumpet tune that still manages to stir something ancient in you. One summer, I watched a tourist on a Segway wearing a nun outfit glide past a mime while a brass band played “Dancing Queen.” I was sipping espresso, trying to decide whether this was divine intervention or just Kraków being Kraków. The underground museum is a marvel, but the real treasure is above ground, where every cobblestone feels like it remembers your grandmother’s pierogi recipe. Prices have crept up, sure, but you’re paying for ambiance, architectural flirtation, and the existential thrill of being in a place that’s survived Mongol invasions, partitions, and stag parties. The pigeons are still here, still judging, still ready to steal your obwarzanek if you blink. Rynek Główny isn’t just a square, it’s a stage, a memory, a slightly chaotic love letter to Polish resilience and theatricality. Come for the history, stay for the surrealism, leave with a heart full of amber and a camera full of pigeons.

Picturesque town square, beautiful pictures from all angles. The place really becomes lively at night. Dont miss the square at "blue hour," for us visiting in late september this was 7pm. Abundance of gift shops in the center. Underground Museum is worth a visit. One could spend days just stopping into resturaunts and stores.

Great atmosphere here. I felt very safe here. Always something going on. One night a group of about 100, 16 year olds, gathered and had a dance. Not one sign of trouble. Great atmosphere with the restaurants and shops

Beautiful central square in Krakow! Huge square, there us a small market in the main building where you can buy souvenirs and also the traditional amber stone, as bracelet or charm, very pretty. You can visit St Mary's basilica and go up to the tower, extraordinary views from Krakow, totally worth the circa 300 steps to get to the top! Lovely restaurants around the square, and not that much expensive compared to others further away from the centre. You can also rent a charming charriot and go around central krakow, day or night

Beautiful old town, we arrived the evening before independence day for Poland, on the day it was very busy, high police presence, but no trouble. The town is full of Beautiful buildings, cafes, bars and restaurants. A restaurant for all budgets. The foot fall fell off, Wednesday/Thursday and grew again on the Friday. Due to the time of year, the increase of visitors didn't appear to have a negative effect on restaurants for us, but might at a different time of year. Poland is so worth a visit. We used Bolts, which is a kind of taxi service, which was Cheap and very quick ( download the app) to use as our chosen way of getting around when we went further a field.

St. Mary's Basilica

Sights & Landmarks
St. Mary's Basilica, a Roman Catholic church located in the city center, is a must-visit for its stunning features and rich history. The basilica boasts a carved altarpiece and Gothic watchtower that announces the time with hourly trumpet calls. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful tracery and medieval stained glass windows while learning about Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles as well as the pillar-buttress system.
St. Mary’s Church in Kraków is one of the most breathtaking places in the city and easily one of my favorite churches in Poland. Its majestic Gothic architecture, richly decorated interior, and intricate details inspire awe and convey a profound sense of solemnity. Built in the 14th century, the church’s construction continued over several centuries. In the late 15th century, it gained one of its most remarkable features – the altarpiece by Veit Stoss, the largest wooden Gothic altarpiece in Europe, created between 1477 and 1489. Commissioned by the citizens of Kraków, it was made from three types of wood: oak for the structure, larch for the background, and limewood for the figures. The interior is equally stunning, adorned with polychrome decoration completed between 1890 and 1892 by Jan Matejko and his collaborators. The star-shaped vaulted ceiling, rich in symbolism and intricate details, gives the impression of heaven descending to earth, while the walls feature biblical scenes and images of saints, inviting quiet reflection. For a small fee, visitors can explore the interior, and a truly special moment occurs at 11:50, when the wings of the main altarpiece open to the accompaniment of music, revealing the exquisite carved scenes in all their detail. The church is also famous for one of Kraków’s most enduring legends – the Mariacki Bugle Call. According to tradition, it originated from a medieval trumpeter who sounded the alarm during an enemy attack and was struck by an arrow while playing. Ever since, the melody has been played every hour in honor of his bravery. St. Mary’s Church masterfully combines history, art, and spirituality. Its beauty and grandeur leave a lasting impression on anyone who visits. It is a place not to be missed, where one can experience the true spirit of Kraków while admiring the stunning altarpiece and polychrome decorations.

St. Mary’s Basilica is absolutely stunning — the interior took my breath away. The colours, detail, and craftsmanship are incredible, and photos really don’t do it justice. It’s also great to see such a beautiful landmark remain accessible and affordable for everyone. Unlike many tourist sites, it doesn’t feel over-commercialised or like it’s trying to monetise a religious space — it’s handled with real respect and care. Whether you’re exploring Kraków for a day or a week, this is a must-visit spot. The surrounding square and old town atmosphere make the whole experience even more special. Highly recommend!

Marvelous cathedral, in the heart of the city center. With two characteristic towers, a Beautiful blue ceiling inside, and the astonishing golden wood panels at the altar. Don't miss the opening ceremony, be prepared at 11h30.

The St. Mary’s Basilica is absolutely beautiful. The architecture and interior details are stunning. There’s usually a line to get in, so plan ahead. Keep in mind that visitors aren’t allowed during mass, but outside those times, the experience is amazing and peaceful.

Wonderful experience. The Basilica is very interesting, nice and rich. Full of emotions. You have to wait a bit sometimes but it worths a visit. Every hour there's a surprise playing music...
Punakaiki — Google review
Saint Mary’s Basilica rises over Kraków’s square like a Gothic prayer cast in brick. Rebuilt by the townspeople after the 1241 invasion, it became the city’s own gift to itself. Its twin towers—one tall and crowned with the Hejnał trumpeter, the other sturdy and quiet—frame a church shaped by generations of architects and guilds. Inside, blue star vaulted ceilings lead to Veit Stoss’s luminous fifteenth century altarpiece, a masterpiece of carved devotion. The shrine of Our Lady glows with votive offerings, and the hourly Hejnał, cut short in memory of a fallen watchman, ties history and reverence into a single breath.
Basil C — Google review
Well, it's impressing but you're not getting that much of a difference in view by paying for the ticket. I recommend going through the free entrance and seeing if it's good enough for you before deciding to buy an actual ticket. By the way, you can easily buy tickets in the building opposite the side entrance.

Bochnia Salt Mine

Mine
Sights & Landmarks
Salt mine dating to the Middle Ages, open for guided tours including an underground ferry crossing.
Amazing experience. Great multi media information displays. The headphone recording device worked well. The tour guide spoke only Polish to the guests so make sure you get the translation headphones. The place is huge. I enjoyed seeing all of the students arriving with backpacks to spend the night inside the mines. What a great experience for them. There is a lot of walking and stairs, so not for people who are not used to walking for hours. Just to let you know. The other tourists and I agreed that this was a super experience which would be a beautiful day trip away from Krakow. The small town of Bochnia was lovely. Make sure you go inside the beautiful cathedral. These are the kind of old architectural structures that remind us of what builders are capable of... Beauty.. Majesty... The Sublime! It was a perfect day trip

Visit to the Bochnia salt mine was interesting but not impressive. We went down to a depth of over 200 meters in a mining elevator. Another attraction was a ride in a mining train. Mrs. Beata (the guide) was very nice and she had a lot of knowledge. Interesting multimedia presentations and mining props. The boat ride took about 5 minutes so a relative attraction for 20 PLN. If I can suggest a trip for a pair of adults, it will be the basic option without a boat "crossing". Our visit to the Wieliczka mine left much better impressions and memories.

First off, I didn't realize there were 2 salt mines in Krakow. When I booked, I thought I booked the Wieliczka Salt Mine. I have to say I was slightly disappointed, but it was my error. This tour was more educational and felt like a school trip, not that that's a bad thing, it just wasn't what I wanted. The tour lasts 3 hours and it has a lot of steps, so wear appropriate shoes. The boat guide was very funny, I kept thinking it was going to capsize, but he assured me it wouldn't. There is a cafeteria and toilets when you get a break, the food I have to say was delicious as we were hungry from walking. All in all, a good day, I just wanted to see more sculptures.

An incredible place. Natural, the feeling of being there is incredible. This mine is one of the oldest, and I'm glad they've preserved its natural interior. The less than four hours (about 3.5 hours of sightseeing) flew by so quickly that I didn't even know when. Our guide, Mr. Marek, had incredible knowledge and passion. We're learning history all over again – thank you, Mr. Marek. I highly recommend it.
Anna K — Google review
My favourite event we did during our trip to Krakow. The staff are dressed in traditional miner's uniforms, the digital displays are great but the mine itself is amazing. From the minute you step into the miner's lift and descend into the shaft you just feel it's going to be great, the train ride and the boat ride are a real highlight but the history and what was created down there is so beautiful. A must do place to visit.

Very interesting tour through the mine, we had a great time and learned a lot of interesting details and historical trivia. We were surprised at how well the media information was integrated in the mine, and we found the experience to be very authentic. We specifically chose this mine tour instead of touring the other large mine near Krakow to get a more authentic experience, and we are so happy with our choice. The headphone audio guide worked well for us, since we didn't understand the Polish language of the person conducting the tour.
Martin — Google review
(Posted because 10 days no answer on e-mail) ! We are very unhappy that there was a mandatory break/lunch in the mine. It was placed right towards the end of the tour which means, that after the 40minutes break, we were being brought up to the surface again. We believe that the mandatory break was added only in order to force people to purchase food from the cantine inside the mine, which was some of the baddest tasting and most exspensive food that I have ever bought. 10zl for 100g of food meant we would have to pay more than 90zl just to get a little food and a drink. Also the souvenir shop inside the mine further indicates, that the 40min mandatory break was added only to force the consumer to make purchases inside the mine, where you are basically "trapped" untill the 40min have passed, because there was also a souvenir shop when we came out of the mine. Besides that, we were a fairly big group and there were constantly issues with the audio. I believe that sensors were supposed to make the audio device start each time you arrive at a special place, but because we were such a big group, it sometimes did not register correctly. We are also unhappy that there was constantly waiting time for several minutes where we were just stranding and waiting for other groups. Overall we are not satisfied that this fairly exspensive tour has done the price justice. We are also unhappy that the slide was not working so we had to walk many steps on foot
