Stunning hotel. Beautiful bars, restaurant and lounges with real fires. Bathroom in our suite very dated and the wall coverings have seen better days ( covered in marks and looked shabby). Customer service exceptional.

Loved every minute of our stay, all the staff from the front desk to the restaurant and the pool/ health centre were so helpful and friendly. We spent our 5th anniversary here and they gave us a complimentary room upgrade which was followed by a hand delivered, hand written note and some chocolates to congratulate myself and my girlfriend. Can’t wait to go back and can’t thank all the people involved enough.

The trail walk could be improved, as it runs mostly around the (not so lovely) perimeter of the grounds, while the golf course looks spectacular!

This place is more of a 2 star hotel. This is the opposite of a 5 star experience. When I checked in the lady just handed me my card, no information about the hotel, breakfast, activities, the gym, or even pointed me towards the elevator. The room was a mess, very dirty stains all over the carpet, mirrors all over the room that have never been cleaned, mold all over the shower, stains all over the walls, spider webs in the corners. When I went to take a shower the drain was not working properly and I was standing in several inches of water and had to keep turning the shower water off because it was overflowing into the bathroom. And the shower water kept going ice cold when I was in there. Was perfect temp then would go ice cold, boiling, then back to normal. Was told someone would clean the bathroom and fix the hot water the next day but as no surprise no one came to fix anything ever. Stains all over the public carpets. Not 5 stars at all. No hair conditioner provided. No bubble bath or anything for the bathtub. Took 24 minutes and 5 phone calls to get someone to answer the phone to order room service on a Monday afternoon. Every time I call down for extra towels or help with something it rings and rings and rings and rings and no one ever answers. Went to breakfast and went to the buffet. No one welcomed me or anything. Then I notice the table next to me ordering food from a waiter. No one brought me a menu of food to order and I wasn’t told that was an option.the table they put me at also had lots of fresh stains on the tablecloth. The gym is less than 1 star. Disgusting dirty facilities. They don’t tell guests it’s open to the public so it was packed and I couldn’t get any equipment to do any exercises. And it’s filthy, all the benches have holes and rips and tears, the weight matches are wobbly and one arm was broken when I tried to use the pill down machine. Finally got an elliptical and the resistance didn’t work. 2 containers of hand sanitizer there were empty when I tried to get some. It was absolutely filthy and never been cleaned, holes and stains and dents in the walls everywhere. Every bench has huge traits that they put rage over, same with bike seats they also taped over the huge tares. Saw they offered classes and tried to sign up several days in advance and was told all the classes I wanted were full already days in advanced by locals the guy told me. I’m a paying quest and no where in my reservation info didn’t say to sign up weeks in advance to beat the locals to a gym class. Ridiculous. No turn down service or anything to make this place 5 stars. No snacks or drinks in the room besides water. They don’t have the soft close doors so every door bangs closed day and night. The screaming children running around here are endless. There is no soundproofing between rooms at all, I can hear the kids next door screaming and yelling non stop. And WiFi kept going in an out all night . This whole facility is a joke. 5 stars, no way. This hotel just doesn’t care it’s that simple Don’t come here if you are looking for a relaxing time. The amount of kids here is overwhelming. Non stop kids running through the halls day and night, yes night screaming. The screaming in the hallway, the restaurant, everywhere just kids screaming. In the middle of the night I tried to call downstairs for assistance in the screaming kids running up and down the hallway and the phone rang and rang and rang and no one picked up at reception as usual.

The hotel is beautifully situated and there is a relaxing woodland walk (2 miles each way) around the site which is a great way to start the morning or to walk off the breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast is absolutely fantastic with a huge selection available each morning - as well as being able to request poached eggs which were delicious! The room itself was incredibly spacious and the bed was very comfortable resulting in a good sleep. The pillows in the room were a bit soft but when I requested firm ones, they were brought up within minutes. The bathroom is also a very good size with a decent shower and the availability of a bath. The service throughout the stay was fantastic with everyone going out of there way to ensure our needs were met and that everything was to our satisfaction. The only slight fault was when we ate in the bar on one of the evenings. The starters were excellent - although the portions were almost too generous for a beginning course. Unfortunately, the mains were not as enjoyable. This wasn't something we raised at the time and may just have been our own preferences and, to be fair, I am confident that had we raised concerns, the service staff would have done their best to resolve the issue. Location wise, the hotel has some narrow roads around it which can be a touch hairy at night time but there is access then to many stunning parts of Wicklow as well as being fairly close to Dublin. Overall, we had a great stay and we'll definitely return in the future. I'd 100% recommend this as a destination and, although we don't have children, it had lots of families staying and seemed very accommodating of children.

We recently hosted an event at Druids Glen and the experience from start to finish was nothing short of exceptional. From the very first enquiry, the team’s professionalism and attention to detail were evident. The meeting facilities are spacious and modern, allowing us to run things seamlessly across two separate spaces. The set-up was perfect and the food was superb and consistently praised by our delegates. The dinner was a real highlight, with sensational food that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. A special thanks to Damien, Sava and Robbie, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their warm welcome, efficiency, and ability to handle last-minute requests/changes with ease made a big difference - Nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be returning!

Very nice hotel, staff excellent and friendly. Food was very good and they cater for kids. Rooms were clean and spacious with a lovely view I just thought the gents toilet doors let it down with squeaking noises and old hinges,also shower door handle was loose at the swimming pool and bench had rips throughout If they say its 5 star they should notice these small things. Overall I would rate this hotel and would definitely go back .

Only a small portion of the hike is open at the moment--maybe 1km? It's still a nice walk down to the closed off section. The views are quite lovely. There are still a handful of picnic tables throughout the path that would be nice for a bite or a rest. I really hope they get it fixed soon.

Absolutely stunning walk with breathtaking views! The Bray Cliff Walk is a must-do if you're in the area. Starting from Newcourt, the trail is well-marked and fairly easy, making it perfect for all fitness levels. You'll be treated to panoramic views of the Irish Sea, rugged cliffs, and even some wildlife if you're lucky. It can get windy, so bring a light jacket, and wear comfortable shoes—parts of the path can be uneven. Great for a peaceful solo walk, a day out with friends, or even a casual date. Highly recommend timing it around sunset for that extra wow factor! There are a lot of amenities for play, food and entertainment. Huge car park, free on Sundays. If you’re lucky over the long weekends you might able to ride fun fair to enjoy with your kids. Many picnic tables and spots, for a perfect picnic out with your loved ones.

Worth the walk and quite the view! Best to wear good shoes for a strenuous walk with a vertical accent and decent. It gets warm toward the top on a sunny day. Consider wearing layers.

Very nice walk which can be adapted in disitance with different routes and there's even 2 small mountains with great panoramic views if you go just a little 5 mins detour!

• Bray Head Cross – A short but steep hike up from the Bray end gives panoramic views of the Irish Sea, Bray town, and the Wicklow Mountains. • Cliff Views – The trail hugs the coastline, with dramatic sea cliffs, seabirds, and sometimes even dolphins offshore. • Greystones – Lovely seaside town at the end of the walk with cafes, restaurants, and a DART station for the return trip.

Bray head offers some superb views all across Dublin bay, its a nice climb and the cross at the summit offer even more lovely walks and from higher up you get better views all 360 of Dublin, Shankill, Dalkey, Wicklow and the little and large Sugarloaf, cheers

This heritage location is a must-visit. While the Google Maps show the closing time as 5 PM, it’s best to arrive before 4 PM to secure a spot. The entry fee is €12 per adult, and a guided tour pack is available from the reception. It’s an ideal spot to soak up the sunlight, with the mills visible from outside the compound wall. There’s also a beautiful park for kids and a lovely cafeteria that closes at 5 PM. This place is perfect for families, children, and history buffs. We came on a Sunday morning with the kids and it was quite empty. We got a family tour all to ourselves which was quite nice. It was very informative and there was more to see than just mill related technology. The tour was quite technical though I found that at times it was difficult for the children to follow (aged 5,7,9) The highlight was definitely powering the watermill and seeing the inside wheels turn. The playground outside was also a nice reward for the kids 😅

Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions, took his time and was also funny. We had a great time! (The gift shop and cafe are also wonderful!)

We visited Skerries Mills recently and had a lovely experience. The guided tour was informative and gave great insight into the history of the windmills and watermill. The surroundings are peaceful, and the café was a perfect spot to relax afterward. A charming place that’s definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

It was worth every penny . Great informative guided tour. 2 wind mills and water mill. Still in operation or videos shown how they work. Food is great in their cafe . Nice play area for kids . Designated parking for EV cars tht was something new .

Our visit to Skerries Mills was an absolute delight. We did a tour with Alex at 4pm (their last tour of the day) and had an amazing time. It was such a lovely mix of interesting historical facts, humour and beautiful views - we will surely be back next time family is visiting. Do stop by here if you're in Skerries and do yourself a favor and grab some lunch before or after your tour at they café - they have amazing food and coffee.

We loved our Vagabond 5-Day Edge of the World Tour with Denise! I took the Driftwood 11 Day Discover Ireland Tour with Dave as our guide & driver. It was a fantastic tour with added stories, recommendations and historical facts from our amazing guide. All the hotels were top rate with excellent service. The coastal views, castles, pubs and people were so beautiful that I fell in love with Ireland completely. There aren't enough words in the English (or Irish) language to describe how magnificent this tour was! My Mom and I had the great pleasure of taking the new 12-Day Wild Coasts & Clover Tour (we were on their second trip). The itinerary was expertly curated to be a perfect blend of history, nature, and local culture. It was what I call a "Stroll and Roll" style tour, where you're driven through gorgeous countryside and colorful villages between your daily stops. Each day was filled with a range of activities, from abbey ruins and sacred mountains to stunning beaches and idyllic villages. No day was too busy nor activity too strenuous, even for our most senior fellow travelers. Having several 2-night stays was also key. This allowed our group to relax in the evenings and enjoy the beautiful accommodations. Some were in town, while others were situated out on their own. All were lovely and quite comfortable. While the tour itself was incredible, what made this tour tops in my book was our guide, Jason. His years of experience as a tour and nature guide shone through, elevating what was already a great experience to one of true delight. He regaled us with his deep knowledge of Irish history, lore, and nature. His kind and calm nature made everyone feel well cared for, allowing us all to sit back and enjoy the entire experience. He was also the absolute sweetest with my Mom, which truly touched my heart and made our Mother-Daughter trip all the more special. In addition to all this, the synergy felt between my fellow travelers made this trip feel more like a family vacation (in the best way) rather than a random group of strangers. From the outset, we all became fast friends who genuinely enjoyed each other's company. We even refused to get off the van at the end because we didn't want the magic to end! This, I found out, was no lucky occurrence. Nearly half of our group were on their third Vagabond tour, and they didn't even know one another! A true testament to both Vagabond and its customers. There is definitely something special about this company, and I will be forever grateful for having toured with them. I went on the 7-Day Castles and Kingdoms tour with my mom and sister, and I can’t recommend Vagabond highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and thoughtfully organized. We received timely updates and clear communication before the trip, and once we were on the road everything ran so smoothly thanks to the wonderful staff and our amazing guide. The itinerary was fantastic, every location we visited and every hotel we stayed in exceeded expectations. Traveling in a small group turned out to be a huge highlight, as it gave us the chance to really connect and share the experience together. Our guide, Phillip, deserves a special mention. He was funny, patient, deeply knowledgeable, and just an all-around great person to travel with. He truly made the trip unforgettable, thank you, Phillip! If you’re able to request a guide, do yourself a favor and ask for him. Even the van itself was a pleasure; comfortable, clean, and perfect for the journey. We had an amazing time at the Wicklow brewery. We had a tour to ourselves with the amazing Vinnie whose knowledge was next to none. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and could not recommend it highly enough. The beer was lovely and we can’t wait to find it again!

We had an great time in the Wicklow Brewery. The burger and fries were amazing and the falafel wrap came with delicious parmesan fries. The pub has a great atmosphere, the Guinness was fresh and they also have a variety of Wicklow Brewery beers.

Really enjoyed the Wicklow Helles Lager, and Vinnie and Jack were wonderful!

Surprisingly good beer and equally good pub food. Definitely a place I'd return to and try their higher end fare.

The craft beers are excellent the price of craft beers are great. Food is very good but quantity is on the scares side. People eat to feed the hunger inside, guys remember than. People will never say i wont go back cos they feed me too much. Hearing someone left hungry should be more a concern. And no i don't mean for them to order more and charge more but i mean better quantity to your money. But food is very good guys your nearly there in my eyes to a perfect eating experience.

We sat outside with our dog since it was a nice day, I don’t think inside is dog friendly. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the vegetarian curry! The local beers were great too and we were able to buy some to take home too. Lovely spot with great staff!

Recommended, especially on a sunny day!

It's suitable for picnics with many people and a good place for children to play. There are ice cream, hot dogs, French fries and other fast food. There are plenty of parking spaces. It's a good place to take pictures of waterfalls and play in the water. However, the mobile phone signal is weak after entering the mountainous area, so it is recommended to download an offline map!

Really quite a nice park with charcoal grills for use. Charcoal and lighters are sold at an onsite snack bar / coffee shop which also has two souvenir machines (one selling “medallions” for 2 euro and another for pressing pennies). Be aware that you will need to drive a fairly narrow two-way road from the front gate to the parking lot. The admission for two adults was 15 euro which seemed steep at first but I think that you could definitely get your value out of it for a group grillout. There is also a waterfall.

Visited Powerscourt Waterfall and honestly, the best part is how close it is to the city while still feeling completely secluded. It’s a beautiful spot, perfect for a family picnic or a quick getaway from the noise of Dublin. The scenery is stunning and really worth the trip just make sure to go on a good-weather day to enjoy it fully.

Visited Powerscourt Waterfall on a weekend afternoon with the family and it was absolutely beautiful. The waterfall is Ireland’s highest and truly a sight to behold—surrounded by peaceful woodland and perfect for a relaxing stroll or picnic. There’s plenty of space for kids to run around, and the facilities were clean and well-kept. It is a private property owned and maintained by a wonderful family. There's plenty of options for doing a barbecue and you will be asked while entering the facility if you wish to do barbecue or not. If yes then there are additional charges for it. The entry ticket to this place has different prices for adults, kids and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or can be purchased at the gate too. There's also combo price for families. They also sell freshly produced honey which are produced in bee hives inside the estate. There's a huge children's play area inside. There is plenty of parking spaces for more than 70 cars at any given time. There's also a shop where you can buy fast foods for a quick bite. There is toilet facilities just besides the children's play area. The best option is to plan to spend the entire day here with family and friends doing a picnic. It’s a great spot to unwind, enjoy nature, and take some amazing photos. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a scenic day out near Dublin!

A must see, was very surprised to be charged an entry fee to see the waterfall, but it was beautiful. We are happy we went!

We had the most wonderful day at Powerscourt Waterfall! It’s an absolutely stunning location and perfectly set up for a fantastic family outing. First off, the practicalities: Yes, there is an entry ticket to get in, but it is well worth the fee for access to such a beautiful and well-maintained area. There is plenty of car parking available close to the main picnic spots, which is very convenient. Clean toilet facilities are also on-site, which is always a bonus. The waterfall itself is the main event, and it is truly breathtaking. As Ireland's highest waterfall, it's an incredibly impressive sight cascading down the rocks, and it provides a fantastic backdrop for the whole area. What makes this place a 5-star destination for us are the brilliant family-friendly facilities. The kids absolutely loved the play area and had a great time running around. Best of all, this is the perfect spot for a barbecue! There are lots of open, grassy areas where you can set up for the day, and many families were enjoying a full cookout, which created a really lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Trinity College is truly a beautiful and inspiring place. The historic architecture, especially the famous library, is breathtaking and full of character—it feels like stepping back in time. The campus is very well maintained, with plenty of open green spaces to relax or study.

Beautiful buildings and the park is well maintained. We had no chance to buy tickets for the Book of Kells Experience on site (it is recommended to buy in advance if anyone is interested in seeing the Library's famous Long Room!), but the buildings were still worth walking around. The gift shop is pretty much like anywhere else, but we saw at least two coffee trucks, so there's something to sip on while you walk. (I can't even imagine what it must be like to see so many tourists wandering around here with the students' eyes — while you're rushing to class, they're just shuffling in front of you to try to make the perfect photo. :D)

It’s very touristy and crowded. The library would have been really cool to see but it’s so busy that it was sold out by the time we got there in the afternoon. It’s nice to walk around the main courtyard area but honestly overhyped as an attraction. If you like history and can get into the library it would definitely be worth checking out though.

It's one of the world's leading universities. The campus is so vast and beautiful. It's impossible not to dream of studying here. I think the only downside is that anyone can easily get in. Other than that, I loved the library. It has an incredibly charming atmosphere.

With its wealth of beautiful Georgian buildings, ample park spaces, and venerable old library, Trinity College is simply gorgeous. We were fortunate to see the campus bathed in sunlight on the Sunday in September that we stopped in for the Book of Kells Experience. Since the wait time before we could go into the library and see the Book of Kells was fairly long, we had the opportunity to walk into the college chapel and hear the choir rehearsing for the morning Eucharist, and then to sit on benches in the sun and enjoy the beauty all around us. Trinity is a must-see place if you're touring Dublin.

The whole experience was pretty well done. The best part of course seeing the Book of Kells. The library was incredible. Unfortunately most of the books were removed for renovation, but enough were still there to get the feel of it. The red building at the end was a full immersive experience - that made me dizzy and nauseous. I wish I could’ve purchased a ticket without the red building (just the book of Kells and the library), but the option wasn’t available. Recommend buying tickets online in advance to get your preferred timed entry.

The display area for the Book of Kells itself is smaller than expected, and you don’t get much time to linger. A few more interactive or modern interpretive elements would really enhance the experience, especially for younger visitors or families. Still, this is an essential stop for anyone visiting Dublin — an inspiring reminder of Ireland’s deep scholarly and artistic heritage, and a beautifully preserved piece of world history. Amazing. Do this. Go here. First of all, the place looks little phenomenal. Its really really interesting and super well built with tons of history and cool facts in every tiny crevice of the campus. And even better is that the tour guides know these details and they di give you a really good overview of everything. Additionally, the old library is a magnificent sight. With the atlas sculpture and the harp! Really really cool!

The university grounds are truly impressive. I recommend walking around – there are several cafés where you can get food at quite student-friendly prices. The Book of Kells is interesting, but the library itself is far more breathtaking. It’s a bit disappointing that only a few books are currently on display, as most were removed for renovation. I highly recommend getting your tickets in advance.

The experience is pretty good. If you are into history and/or architecture then you will enjoy it. I went on the free student pass and you do need to book in advance but then there was no wait to get in. The audio guide is pretty good. The app doesn't currently work with the latest android version, but there is an online version. The 2nd part of the visit was also pretty immersive, as were the projected short films. The only unfortunate part is that most of the books have been removed for preservation.

This experience was topping my Dublin bucket list and I was certainly not disappointed. Recommended for all history lovers. There are different price ranges in regards to the tickets, so you bettee have a look before you buy the first one you see. Friendly staff. Btw, it is not allowed to take photos of the Book itself, don't even try!

A lovely place! We were greeted by host who immediately engaged us with conversation about our home country. The museum itself has a tones of artifacts, but the heart of the museum lies in the way it presents Ireland and its history. Our guide, Sean, was wonderful, the expressiveness with which he spoke even impressed two senior citizens from Poland, who didn't understand a single word, but were delighted with the way history was presented. I hope there are more guides like him! Totally recommend it! PS. After second thought... they're saying leprechauns are not real. Don't believe in everything they're saying. I warned you.

We were only in Dublin for the weekend and had a list of things to see longer than my arm. Personally I wasn’t up for spending most of a day slecking around a massive museum or gallery. So when I found this place on Google I thought it looked just the job. I booked it online and part way through the intro video I knew I had made the right choice. History and Humour. The guided tour is brilliant, or Pauline our guide was. She made it a very funny and enjoyable 45 odd minutes. Worth every penny. Go on give this place a craic, you won’t regret it.

I had a fantastic time at the Little Museum of Dublin, made all the more memorable by our wonderful tour guide, Claire. From the start, Claire captivated us with her engaging storytelling, weaving fascinating facts about Dublin’s rich history with humor and charm. Her passion for the city was evident, and she brought its past to life in such an accessible and entertaining way. The highlight of the tour was Claire’s beautiful singing performance at the end—it added a truly special and heartfelt touch to the experience. After the guided portion, we had plenty of time to explore the Georgian house further on our own, which offered even more insight into Dublin’s cultural heritage. All in all, it was 40+ minutes very well spent. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn more about Dublin in an intimate and engaging setting.

Experiencing the Little Museum of Dublin was one of my greatest joys since moving to Ireland. I have been to most museums in Dublin and while all of them have their fair share of amazing things to see, the little one surpassed all expectations for me. First of all, the place doesn't feel little at all and every single inch is packed with artifacts of Ireland's incredible history. The way every single thing feels and looks as it was placed there with great care makes you want to spend your whole day exploring. But in the end, what elevated it all was our tour guide, George. It was breathtaking to see such display of charisma and knowledge! The way he described Dublin and Irish history with such depth and expertise, while engaging and entertaining our whole group, making us laugh, taking questions, and making the rich heritage of Dublin and Ireland even more fascinating (and the singing?? Amazing!!). Definitely recommend to everyone, natives, tourists, adults and children. If all you have is one day to spend in Ireland, come here, is the best crash course possible to make you want to come back.

Despite the positive reviews, I was hesitant to go, thinking it may be an underwhelming (which is not uncommon for “overhyped” places) experience. Well…we very much enjoyed being here. It is a unique museum; the experience provides an entertaining and efficient “crash course” in Irish history and culture. Going through a series of rooms, one of which is a cool video projection, you are immersed into different aspects of learning about Ireland, and specifically Dublin. What added tremendously to the experience is the wonderful historical building setting, the amazing variety of items, and the energetic tour guides. Our “storyteller” guide, Mark, was tremendous…he really engaged our group and made the visit memorable. Reservations are a must. This was the first place we visited during our trip to Dublin and it really set a positive tone for our stay in Dublin!

Went here today with two children 9 and 11 and my cousin visiting from NZ.Our tour guide was Saul.He was brilliant and gave a very funny and interesting look at Dublin history.My kids thought he was hilarious.Would recommend this tour to anyone with 29minutes to spare.A great way to spend a very rainy afternoon!

Wonderful park to just stroll through, especially if there's a light mist/rain. Great colors of nature, especially in fall. There's a kids park for little ones. The park is full of life, just people having a quiet time. I enjoyed it so much, I went back within my 5 day visit to Dublin. It's next to busy city life yet feels miles away. St Stephen's Green in Dublin is an absolute gem, especially for a family visit! We loved escaping the city bustle into this beautiful, tranquil Victorian park. It was a perfect spot for the whole family, offering a great mix of beautiful landscaping, historical statues, and a lovely playground that kept the kids thoroughly entertained. The central ornamental lake with the ducks was a particular highlight. It felt safe, well-maintained, and was a wonderful place for a relaxed stroll and some people-watching. A definite must-visit for anyone in Dublin!

Such a beautiful place. I picked a great day to go there anyway. Bright blue sky, sun was shining. Birds were singing. A really nice array of flowers and shubbery are scattered across the park. The wildlife are very present here inside the middle of the busy city. In amongst the many seagulls and pigeons I saw quite a few beautiful little birds like this robin that took a great interest in me and a squirrel too. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Stepping into St. Stephen's Green right off Dublin's busy streets is instantly calming. it's like finding a secret, peaceful world :) This beautiful Victorian park is the perfect escape. This huge beautiful park is a breath of fresh air right in the middle of Dublin city. It offers some peace to stroll around, sit by the pond and watch the ducks, swans and birds and even learn about some local history. It’s very well-kept and clean. The fall colors made everything even more gorgeous and I had a wonderful time! 🍂

Beautiful clean park. There are many statues that describes what is their relation to Irish culture. Was very fun interacting with the birds flying around. It is recommended to sit and slow down to soak the atmosphere. Do not rush the place. Will come back

Took a quick stroll here during my lunch break and it was just what I needed. The place is super peaceful and really well kept. Lots of colourful flowers, big shady trees, and even a few ducks and a squirrel hanging around. Hard to believe it’s right in the middle of the city. Perfect spot to clear your head before getting back to work!

I really enjoyed this place! I went in knowing almost nothing about whiskey and left with a lot of knowledge - from the differences between Scottish and Irish whiskey to the production process, history, and fascinating historical details. The tour ends with a tasting, which was the perfect final touch. I definitely recommend visiting during your trip to Dublin - it’s fun, informative, and memorable.

I enjoyed the hour long experience, but it did seem to be a stretched out production. The whiskey we got to try was great, but as the guide jokes throughout, it’s not til the very end. Our guide was also really nice and funny.

It's a great experience! We went on a week day and got the Premium experience because we basically love Irish Whiskey and wanted to try 4 different whiskeys instead of 3. It's so worth it! You learn the story of the Irish whiskey in general, not just one brand, and it's interactive and fun. Our guide was Linda and she was so entertaining and so knowledgeable that it made our visit even greater. I definitely recommend it!!

I went here yesterday on the spur of the moment and it was fantastic! Lydia was our amazing tour guide. She was informative, engaging, and funny - I recommend bringing some cash to tip her, we sadly didn't have any. Great value for an hour tour and tasting, especially the premium tour as we got an extra drink and a glass to keep. There's also alcohol free prices if you're not drinking which is wonderfully inclusive. Highly recommend!

We visited The Whiskey Museum and took the cocktail-making class with Briein, and it was absolutely fantastic! We had a blast—mixing delicious drinks, learning fun new techniques, and laughing the entire time. It truly felt like hanging out with a great friend who also happens to be an amazing instructor. We can’t recommend this experience with Briein enough—you’ll love every minute of it!

We purchased tickets in advance so there was no wait. It is such a beautiful cathedral. The architecture and history is amazing. There is a "quiet area" for reflection and prayer, however there lack of respect from other visitors for that area. There is a gift shop area, however most of the items there can be found in other shops around the city.

We purchased out tickets online ahead of time for an easier entry, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour here. Audio guides were included with our basic admission but we chose to walk around without it just admiring the architecture and stained glass windows. This is a very neat cathedral, one of the best I've visited on my Europe trips. WAYYYY better than Dublin Castle!!

Really a great visit. We were unable to explore the green due to weather, but the amount of information and things to see inside the cathedral was just amazing. There was so much about the history to read, and the memorials across the walls was such an interesting sight. I personally loved all the stained class. HIGHLY recommend getting there right at opening. You'll be able to beat the tourist groups by just a slim margin, but it makes all the difference. After tours arrived, it was chaotic and crowded, and the tourists were fairly impolite. Get there early and you'll enjoy it way more!

Visited on self-guided tour on a Monday morning. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to visit each part of the cathedral with space and time to learn about its history and it's stunning architecture at our own pace. Price of admission was either 8 or 10 euros, a steal for the experience.

As many other reviewers have said, it's a beautiful castle with lovely stained glass windows. There's an audio tour so that it can take it all in at your own pace. There's information about Jonathan Swift there as well. It's definitely worth a visit.

Any fan of history needs to visit! The individuals who rest at Glasnevin have shaped the fabric of Irish history and, in some cases, the history of many other nations. When climbing the tower, be aware of any physical limitations as the stairs already 150+ and perhaps steeper than one might think. The tours will give you the chance to hear of the deeds performed by those who now rest there. Larger gatherings should probably book in advance, but the spontaneous individual will most likely be able to buy a spot on a tour at the entrance.

Very interesting tour of the cemetery. The tour guide Cillian was very knowledgeable & full of information which made the tour very enjoyable. We also climbed to the top of the round tower all 198 steps. Would definetly recommend to visit

Amazing tour! We really enjoyed every minute of it. So interesting & our guide Pat was so passionate & conveyed the information in such a clear & concise manner. If you enjoy Irish history this is a must visit! Nice little cafe located at the entrance & the cemetery is located right beside the National Botanic gardens. Together they would make a great day trip. The gardens have a wonderful array of plants & it is free entry.

We visited the Cemetry on a bright Wednesday morning. We had booked the Tour and it turned out to be a very wise move. The Tour was excellent and the guide showed us the graves of all the notable people who are buried there. The walk is on very good surface with no inclines or dodgy footpaths. The guide gave us a brief resume of each notable figure at their grave and their standing in Irish history. We would highly recommend this Tour and to round it off we had a lovely lunch in the restaurant nearby.

My wife and I took this tour on a Monday morning a few hours before our flight home and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very animated and obviously loved his job! I paid about $26 for the Jameson Distillery tour and it was worth every penny. They start with a really cool 3D projector story about the history and how Jameson is made, then you move into a tasting room where you try four different Jamesons and learn how to properly smell and taste whiskey. It truly feels like a world-class experience. The premium ones were noticeably smoother (whiskey by itself definitely grows hair on your chest 😂), but it was fun, informative, and delicious. After the tasting, you get a drink included — they already have a bar set up with several cocktail options, and if you want another drink afterward you can buy more. The tour guide was incredible — funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like he actually believed every part of the history. It was so good I found myself thinking, “Do y’all hire? I could work here too.” The staff overall was extremely friendly and helpful. They’ll even hold your bags if you’re coming straight from the airport like I was. There’s merchandise at the end if you want to shop, and the whole experience is just a lot of fun from start to finish. I would 100% come back and I’d tell anyone visiting Dublin to add this to their trip.

This is one of the best distillery tour I’ve ever done! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin. Our tour guide was really informative and had a great demote of knowledge about the history of Jameson’s. I’m not usually a Whiskey drinker but after trying a Jamesons, Ginger Ale and Lime in the bar I am converted.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jamison Distillery. I went with my husband and my daughter. It was very informative and quite interesting. There were several experiences during the tour. We tasted whiskeys that we hadn't tried before. Our new favorite one is Black Barrel. We've bought a bottle now that we're back home and have shared it with a neighbor. He is now a fan! I recommend going on this tour. It's fun, educational, and it even has a cute little shop inside.

It was a great experience. It was super well presented and everything was well organized. It was easily orientable and the progression was logical. Additionally, it was very interactive with all the different parts of the exhibition. Something i particularly liked was how on theme everything was throughout (such as the “roasting” part was in a room themed with furnace-like lighting)! Super cool. Would strongly suggest going.

My visit to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin was absolutely amazing! We bought our tickets online, which made everything quick and easy. The whole experience is designed by floors, and each level tells a different part of the Guinness story — from its rich history and iconic marketing campaigns to the brewing process itself. The concept is super well thought-out, interactive, and visually stunning. I loved learning about how the beer is made and how the brand became such a global symbol. You can even enjoy a non-alcoholic Guinness during the tour, which was a great option. Totally worth it!

I was unsure eif going as I thought it could be very touristy but honestly loved the experience, spend a number of hours there going through the different floors, learning about historical side and how it influenced and still is entertained with modern improvements. Highly recommend it! Also food is pretty good, we went to the bar and had pie and toastie then up to the rooftop bar for the pint included in ticket price. Views were gorgeous there!

A must visit if you come to Dublin. This is a self guided tour that brings you on a journey of how Guinness came about and how it is made. Very informative. You start your journey at the ground floor and work your way up towards the 7th floor which is the gravity bar. With the ticket purchase you will have a free glass of Guinness beer with one of the best views around.

Fantastic place and a must to visit! We learnt about the deep history of how Guinness was created / invented, the complex techniques they used, and also showcased the past and present equipment used to make the Guinness. Very interactive museum and a must to visit when you are in Dublin, the queue management was great, we didn't had to wait too long to get into the museum. Also highly recommend to sign up for the workshop where you can print your image on the Guinness stout! ♿️ wheelchair accessible entrance and lots of space to move around inside the Storehouse. There are lifts available to move to different floors too.

When in Dublin you have to visit the Guinness Storehouse!!! I’m not a fan of Guinness but still interested in the history of the brewery, Over 7 floors the self guided tour was about 2.5-3 hours, loads of information on how they brewery started and the way it’s brewed, beautifully laid out and easy to navigate yourself around, love the history especially the forgotten skills and practices they had that have given way to modernisation and progress which is to be expected! We ate on the restaurant there and as I stated I wasn’t a fan of Guinness but still have to try the delicacies ( when in Rome and all that!) I opted for the indies porters, wow what a drink strong rich flavours and at 6% in and too! Only downside to the porters is it’s that strong in taste a normal straight Guiness after in the gravity bar on top don’t cut it with the flavour! Great views, great beer and great food, all wrapped up in the history of this iconic place. Definitely worth a visit 100% Visited in November and was all decorated for Xmas, and done well. ☘️🇮🇪🍻

Great night in at the Wild lights, did not add many photo's as do not want to spoil the experience for anyone else. Highly recommend, great for families with kids of all ages. Loads of food options on site(slightly overpriced IMO) We wanted to see all the displays which required us having to walk through parts we had previously seen earlier. Great experience, all the staff were so friendly and very cheery with only added more positively to our experience!! Highly recommend, and hope anyone reading gets to enjoy this experience!!

This is a wonderful Zoo with a large variety of animals. Clean, easy to navigate, fun. The dinosaur exhibit was amazing. Lots of fun facts shared everywhere about the animals. Plenty of toilets all over and places to eat. There is a small family farm for the little kids and lots of playground around for the kids to play. Buy tickets in advance to save time and money. Overall a fun place for the kids to visit.

One of the best zoos I’ve ever visited. The space provided for the animals is second to none, and the staff are consistently friendly and courteous. The talks are engaging, particularly the elephant presentation, and the variety of animals at Dublin Zoo is truly impressive — far better than what I’ve seen in Sydney or London. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you.

We had a wonderful time at Dublin Zoo — truly one of the best family experiences in the city! The zoo is beautifully laid out, spacious, and easy to explore. What really stood out was the incredible variety of animals you rarely see elsewhere: Okapis, Asian wolves, snow leopards, and majestic gorillas. Each enclosure feels thoughtfully designed, offering great visibility for visitors of all ages — even the little ones can see everything easily. There are lovely picnic areas, plenty of benches, and a good mix of food stands if you prefer a snack on the go. The children’s playgrounds — both outdoor and covered — are fantastic for a little break between exhibits. We also loved the dinosaur section, which adds a fun and educational twist to the visit. Tickets cost around €22–25 per person, and you’ll want to allow at least 2–3 hours to fully enjoy the zoo without rushing. A perfect day out for families, animal lovers, and anyone looking to spend a relaxed, inspiring afternoon surrounded by nature and wildlife!

Tickets can be purchased from the zoo... Arrived around 11:30pm and took a tour around 2 hours exploring around the zoo... We were excited to see animals but unfortunately we wouldn't find some animals while some of them are in deep sleep.. Area maintained well and directional signage available to guide visitors

Great day out. Lovely time of year to visit, not too hot so the animals aren't hiding out of the sun. Alot of food/icecream places are closed but didnt bother us but just note to bring snacks. We ate at the meerkat restaurant at the end. We got to see them setting up for wild lights, looks beautiful

One of my favorite zoos! I’ve been to quite a few zoos, but this one definitely stands out. It feels more like you’re walking through the woods than a typical zoo, which makes the whole experience more enjoyable and relaxed. There’s a great variety of animals to see, though you do need a bit of luck — many of them were napping when I visited! Still, it’s a lovely place to explore and feels more connected to nature than most zoos.

Fascinating guided tour of the Gaol. Lots of information about Ireland's history and independence movement, including the many political prisoners held here. The museum was organized well and displays were clearly explained. Well worth the price of admission. Tickets sell out well know advance but day of tickets can sometimes be purchased online.

This was a great tour, covering the history of the prison, some of the notable figures who were emprisoned/ executed here, and some notable Irish history (the famine, Easter rising, etc) Our guide John was knowledgeable and engaging. At the end there is a museum which was well organised and had some very interesting exhibits, including the final letters four men sent to their mothers before execution, from 1922. There’s also a cafe, and a gift shop with lots of books on Irish history as well as the average Ireland souvenirs

I highly recommend this tour when you're visiting Dublin but please note: YOU NEED TO BUY TICKETS 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. I bought our tickets online and 10 minutes later they were sold out. Please visit the website, they explain everything. Our tour guide, Rob, was amazing. He spoke clearly and loud enough for all to hear. Rob was a wealth of knowledge. To paraphrase Rob, there's not a lot of happy stories here, but a lot of important stories. We learned a lot of history and highly recommend visiting.

Honestly the best thing you can do in Dublin as a tourist. It's not incredibly busy and is a very important cornerstone of Irish history. It's a heavy subject but was told with elegance and pause. I very much appreciate the can driver pointing us in the direction of the Gaol. Do yourself a favor and take the time to visit this place. And make sure you book well in advance as tickets fill up quick.

Did this tour as a spur of the moment, and wow, we wasn’t disappointed! Our guide (Adam) was fantastic and great at describing the history of the prison, plenty of emotion in his presentation of it which really made you feel how grim it was to be held there, The prison holds so much history for Ireland and the rebellion, after the walking tour you get to see the small museum which has loads f info and items from the prison and prisoners, especially the letters!! Hard read but so worth taking the time to read them. Entrance fee is tiny and they could charge more easily I feel as it was so informative. Thank you for the education from the visit ☘️🇮🇪

Hats down one of my fave visits in Dublin and the best presentation from any tour guide I've ever had. If you are lucky to get Adam as a guide, you are in for a treat. He has an exceptional storytelling skill that kept both the children on the tour and adults engaged to the max, and conveyed both the story of the jail and the resistance fighters in a fantastic way.

I had a perfect tour at Kilmainham Gaol — it was incredibly interesting and well-organized. Our tour guide, Thomas, was excellent! You can really see that he enjoys his work and does it with great passion. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin.

Nice spot to visit with the family. Maze was good ( new growth, but still a good one ) little farmhouse and Farm Museum was cool to see. Forest trail with tressure and fairy door hunt for the kids

I’ve had an amazing experience at Greenan Maze, we stayed there with a group of friends for 3 nights and it was the best experience I could of ever asked for. Anita and Will are such kind and lovely people and made us feel right at home. The farm itself is beautiful and all of the animals are happy and healthy. Judging by how the owners and staff take care of the business really shows how passionate they are about it and it was so lovely to see that. We stayed in the river hut which was very clean upon our arrival and supplied us with all of the essentials that we needed such as firewood for bonfire. The surrounding scenery was also just as beautiful, we went on multiple hikes and walks since Greenan maze farm is located on the Wicklow way it made it easy to reach other scenic destinations. Couldn’t of asked for anything to be different it was simply perfect, thank you kindly!! ☺️

Great place to come with the family. We didn’t go with kids and still found the maze great. They have lovely nature walks and we could bring our dog. They also have farm animals you could see being fed and a couple of small museums. We saw at the back you could do glamping also which we will keep in mind for next time we come to the area

Brought my grandchildren here before they were going back to school, they loved it, the maze was great fun, took us two go's but we got there in the end, the playground was lovely as was the nature walk, would definitely go back as there is no time restriction so could stay there all day.

Loved every bit of it. Loved how it helped us to be enveloped in nature. Loved the cloud poster too. Food delicious. What a Treasure Chest!

A slice of heaven. The name doesn’t tell the full story. There are 2 mazes, one is a large hedge maze and the other is grass and path. There is a coffee shop, nature trail, treasure hunt, playground, farm museum, farm animals, toilets, covered picnic area and much more. Everything is so well maintained and all the staff we interacted with were lovely. We paid €18 and could stay as long as we wanted and use all facilities. An absolute bargain. We stayed for 4 hours.

Lovely place for family day out. Trail was lovely with fairy door hunt. Lots of information on nature. There is coffee shop, farm museum and animals. Small football pitch. Good parking. We bought ticket online but you can buy at gate also.

Glendalough Cathedral is without a doubt one of the highlights of this historic monastic site. Walking among the ruins, you can almost feel the centuries of history that shaped this valley. The cathedral itself, though roofless, is truly impressive in its scale and detail. The stonework and arches tell stories of a time when Glendalough was a thriving center of faith and learning, and it is fascinating to imagine how it must have looked in its full glory. What I love most about this place is the atmosphere. Surrounded by peaceful mountains and old gravestones, the cathedral feels both grand and serene. It’s a perfect spot to pause, reflect, and take in the deep sense of history. Every corner is incredibly photogenic – from the tall stone walls to the ancient Celtic crosses scattered around the grounds. The area is well maintained, and there is a spacious parking lot nearby with a one-time daily fee, as well as free toilet facilities and small food stalls, which make the visit convenient. But what makes this site truly special is the sense of stepping back in time. If you are a history lover, a photographer, or simply someone who enjoys exploring unique cultural sites, Glendalough Cathedral is a must-see. I always leave this place inspired and grateful to experience a piece of Ireland’s soul. Definitely worth visiting – and worth sharing!

Historic, monastic site with 2 lakes of natural beauty. The old mine starts the Wicklow Way walk. All free - go early as both carparks fill up quickly and charge around €5 some free on Street parking around the hotel area.

This monastic centre beautifully situated in a mountain valley in the heart of Wicklow, the garden of Ireland, is what the room dedicated to it in the Historical Museum on Kildare Street Dublin, refers to as the Rome of Ireland. This may be in a sense, true spirituality but its collection of ruined buildings pales starkly in comparison to the aforementioned Italian capital's. That said it is still well worth a visit to this monastery village and the surrounding area that gives us a glimpse back into times when Ireland was a thriving ecclesiastical centre while most of the rest of Europe had been plunged by the fall of the same Rome into the Dark ages.

By far the largest structure in the ancient monastic site and the only one you can enter. It's very big, and despite not having a roof anymore, some of the Arches are still somewhat intact. It's a must-see in the monastic site. Just be warned that the doorway can be muddy.

Three of us visited the Glendalough Monastic City yesterday. A place we shouldn’t have missed visiting while in Dublin. The tall round tower is the most prominent feature in the place. The access into the tower is from an opening at a higher level using a tall ladders. This is to protect clergy from the Vikings, as we understand. There are tomb stones we sighted recent as 2001. Not clear to us if this is still considered to be a burial site for the community around.

What an amazing place! Very historic. Super glad we stopped and walked around. Definitely staying a few days when I go back.

This is a beautiful spot in the monastic city that is a short walk over to St. Kevin’s Monastery. The landscape here is beautiful, I came here as part of a tour and it was lovely, I’d enjoy more time spent here walking around.

A nice church and grounds. The grounds house some interesting tombs and some sculptures along its rear wall, you can walk all the way around the church and there is parking near by, cheers

Saint Peter's Church a beautiful Ireland. beautiful architecture, including a distinctive spire. The Church is an important landmark attracting people from the town for prayer and worship. It also is a major attraction for people visiting the town.

We had just come from visiting Newgrange and wanted to walk around and find some restaurants. Walking down the road and stumbling onto this magnificent structure was certainly unexpected. This is worth seeing first hand!

Church was closed but the cemetery is full of history - I came here after going on a guided tour at the Martello Tower at Millmount Museum, from which I learned about the Cadaver Stones, a memento Mori from the Middle Ages. See pictures.

St Patrick's church is in the center of town and cannot be missed with the spectacular spire to help locate it. The church is lovely and a beautiful building. The interior, like most churches is very relaxed and a respectful, ambient athmosphere. The exhibits are very well explained and the story is detailed in exhibits. There is also a relic of the true cross which is quite interesting. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

I visited this church to attend a concert. The musicians were top and the acoustics excellent. But the church itself was so beautifully kept and decorated that made a fantastic backdrop for the concert.

Excellent fun centre that seems to have all a child needs. There is kids party's, lasser tag, bowling, food, arcade games, swimming. Climbing cage, etc. Parking is good and the staff are very nice. My childhood had a fantastic time.

First problem is parking, just not enough. The water park, changing rooms are roasting but the water park is cold ,it should really be warmer especially for toddlers,if the water park was hotter,it would be a thoroughly enjoyable experience but it's just too cold . There's one Jacuzzi between a lot of adults which is unfortunate. Lifeguards are on top of things and take there job seriously ,it's good to see they take the responsibility of there job with seriousness. It's great craic for the kids but it's only downfall is the temperature. The arcade and bowling and VR area is enjoyable and there's many things to do and enjoy here . The restaurant is flat out all day,food is quality and tasty,the staff are ran off there feet . The staff all over are very friendly and helpful,any questions I asked were answered,The toilets were always clean and someone was walking around disinfecting handles and cleaning glass . I would recommend funtasia for a great day out for the family, just arrive early and go with the flow.

This is our first and last time at Funtasia. We are from the States. We have many arcades like Funtasia there. We have never been so ripped off by an arcade like we were here. The games are rigged against the children that play them. I saw no child actually win from the E claw machines. When my child did win from an e claw ticket machine, the door to her prize would not open. We waited 10 minutes for an employee to get her her tickets. On a positive note, the place was clean. I do not recommend.

Lovely experience with my daughter! We had such a fantastic time at Funtasia Drogheda. My daughter was absolutely thrilled — from the water park to the arcade, every moment was fun and memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were plenty of activities to keep kids entertained for hours. A perfect spot for family bonding and laughter. We’ll definitely be back!

I am giving it 3 stars because I felt that the water area was too small and more suitable for children up to the age of 3. For adults, there are only 2 slides and nothing else. Most of the rides outside are also mainly for small children. There’s a nice café and they also serve food, but it would have been better if there were some activities for adults as well.

Wicklow Mountains National Park is an absolutely gorgeous environment! The scenery and landscape are breathtaking. You really need to spend a good amount of time here to explore and walk around. It’s beautiful from every angle.

Beautiful and quite place, scenic views and amazing driving, many spots to stop and admire the view, montais, florets, rivers, falls etc.

Beautiful stunning landscape! It has 2 beautiful lakes and several tracking paths. Ideal for having a walk or a picnic. It has 2 car parks but if you decide to go on a weekend or bank holiday i would advise to go really early. Roads are narrow and you'll get stuck in traffic for at least an hour. Iam totaly going back and i try another walking track.

Fantastic place to visit and learn about the history of the land. Plenty to do in the area, with lovely walks nearby. If you’re staying in Dublin, you can easily combine this with a visit to Newgrange and Slane Castle for a full day out.

The house is closed , the visitor centre is small but good , the gardens are beautiful and the coffee shops good too. Plenty if choices of treats . Lovely place for relaxing and nice walks

The site is beautifully preserved and presented. The walled gardens a treat for the senses. The volunteer who explained the history, Margaret, was enthusiatic and knowledgable and held her audience's rapt attention. The visitor centre staff were most helpful too. The tea rooms offered a pleasant array of fresh, well prepared food; however one of the servers was obviously not having a good day and was quite short with my elderly companion and the coffee was less than palatable, the only blot on an otherwise delightful experience.

If you are a battlefield tourist, as I am, this should be on your list. That said, it’s about the oddest one I’ve visited. Despite the name, this is really a stately home, with nice gardens that happens to be where the battle of the Boyne took place. There’s a courtyard with examples of artillery, and a good video on the battle. But the field itself is almost unsignposted and even the trails have no explanatory signage. It’s almost as if they are embarrassed about what happened there. When I asked someone in the ‘visitor centre’ where I should go he asked ‘what do you want to see?’. Slightly taken aback I said ‘the battlefield’. He sent me to see the film (which is good, as I say) then to the walled garden! The contrast with the excellent battlefield centre at Aughrim is striking. The latter does everything very well on what I would guess is a far smaller budget than the Boyne has.

Impressive mansion, gardens, battlefield and coffee shop. Excellent video reenactment of the famous battle. Visitor Centre closed for our visit so free admission and a face-to-face history lesson by a lovely staff member

I had an amazing visit to the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre at Oldbridge Estate. The centre is located right on the historic battlefield where King William III and King James II faced off in 1690—a turning point in Irish and British history. the exhibitits ,cannons are nicely restored and displayed ,lot of religious context to the war shown in its neutrality. The visual cinema was excellent The Octagon Garden symmetrical with the 9 English Yew trees which are the few of the oldest in Ireland. Infact English Yew trees are the most known oldest trees on earth.Well Kept lavender gardens, the Apple orchards, Dog Kennels,Peach tree enclosure, Lush Open greenery and places to sit for a picnic at the open gardens The views over the river and battlefield are stunning, and walking the trails gave me a real sense of the landscape that shaped the events of the battle. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-kept, beautifully restored and managed by OPW and clearly marked

Old Mellifont Abbey is a peaceful and fascinating site with deep roots in Ireland's religious past. As the first Cistercian monastery in the country, its ruins especially the unique octagonal grandeur lavabo - meant for washing hands . The yester year historic images give a real sense of gigantic medieval monastic life and changes across time on the abbey .The infirmary, sounds of adjacent river, details on the different rooms with sign boards ,strict monastic life ,Beewax and honey usage, Visitor center(Museum ) which was irelands first youth hostel, all Beautifully maintained and well-signposted

We had a nice visit and the ground is very clean. Some interesting information in the visitor centre. Not a huge site, but a nice walk for those history buffs.

A fantastic location with some amazing ruins, the grounds are large and you can explore the grounds at your leisure. It has excellent parking and each old ruin is different from the one before, some nice tiny churches and a super day out, enjoy

Mellifont is really just a ruin. There is not too much left to see but the OPW has done a great job to make a visit as interesting as possible. They have an informative center with historical pieces linked to the abbey and you can visit it and get a guided tour of the site for €5. The chapter house is the only building still mostly 'intact' from the old abbey but the site's ruins include a circular central structure with arches and bases of old damaged walls. Mellifont is also beautifully situated in the Boyne countryside and a pleasant place to pass half an hour or so at.

Anyone with a taste for historical ruins must visit this place. Only the foundation and certain parts of the walls remain now and are preserved well. The experience was incredible. There are informative panels that describe who was in charge at a specific period and what changes were made to the monastery with pictures to show how it looked then. The well-marked and numbered sketch added an extra layer of understanding, allowing me to visualise the history that once unfolded in each corner.

The Irish Military Museum is an absolute treasure. The collection is incredibly impressive, covering a huge range of military history with real depth and detail. Every exhibit is thoughtfully curated, and you can tell how much passion has gone into creating such a fascinating experience. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, there's something here for everyone. The staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, making the visit even better. I highly recommend a trip — you’ll come away amazed and wanting to return!

What a great gem. 2.5 hrs walk around when inside look up look down look everywhere, you will miss something. It's an amazing museum lots of history exhibited in one place. Try on uniforms guns sit in different vehicles it's really interactive for children. Friendly staff very knowledgeable. Loved it so did the family. We would have stayed longer only I got hungry. Pitched our bell tent out back in the campsite and used this as our base for the weekend. Lovely quite spot and would recommend. Thanks again collon for everything.

OMG!!! This place was amazing! I saw artifacts that I never DREAMED that I would have the opportunity to ever see let alone touch in my life. Wonderful display everything you can think of. Support local...visit this museum.

Amazing war museum and very informative descriptions on all exhibits. Reasonable entry fee and car parking. Very nice owner who has collected everything. Definitely recommended!

Cool museum , also has camping, 20 euros a night, not much more than a safe place to sleep, bathrooms could use some cleaning !

Best thing we did in Ireland. Highly recommend! The site and the whole experience was fantastic. Our tour guides were amazing, too. The opportunity to enter the ancient tunnel and go 20 meters in to the central room and burial chambers was unforgettable. It’s a mystery with many questions left unanswered. There’s also dozens of Neolithic/Megalithic art carvings in stone surrounding the tombs. Visitors centre was great. Loved it all!! A must see IMHO 👀 Enjoy!!

This place is truly amazing and full of history. I don’t think many people, even those living in Ireland, know about it. It feels like time travel—taking you back 5,300 years. It’s one of the oldest man-made structures on Earth and is very well protected. Make sure to book your tickets online before visiting. It’s absolutely worth more than what you pay. All the guides are wonderful and explained everything thoroughly throughout the tour. We loved it so much and learned a lot from the experience.

Incredible experience! Allowed inside for an amazing recreation of the solstice. Whole experience really well curated and taken in small groups by bus to ensure it's never busy. Guide informative.

As a tour guide who has visited Amazing Historical site for over 20 years as a private guide Newgrange and knowth never fails to Amaze me. I think anyone that comes to Ireland and doesn't visit these sites and this Magical and mystical Boyne Valley region. The Visitor centre is one of the best in Europe also.

We did Newgrange and Knowth. Definitely cool but I much preferred the stone circles. They seemed more natural/untouched. These sites are extensively rebuilt - which is great to save what we can. They just didnt give any vibes at all. Maybe too many people. Sept 9, 2024. I missed Broadleas and Athgreany to see this and its one of my biggest regrets of the trip. 2nd trip we did Broadleas but Athgreany is closed indefinitely.

My wife and I visited Bru na Boinne in May 2025. It was a fascinating archaeological site. Pictures are not allowed inside the chamber to respect the historical significance of the site. Although I do understand the reason, it was the difference for me not giving the site a 5 star rating. The pathway inside the chamber is very narrow and might be a concern for those who are claustrophic. The chamber itself is also small. It also limits the number of people allowed in each tour group, so book ahead if you are interested. I do recommend this site for those who have an interest in this sort of thing. My last picture uploaded is the entrance to the chamber.
