I advise you to hire a local guide to tell you the story of the bridge and this town. There is so much to hear and learn about this town and its historical facts. You have a zip line near the bridge that goes over the Drina river, there are small boats for 30min up to 2h+ tours with local guides. As expected in this country you will enjoy food and coffee ☕

If you're traveling toward Adriatic coast or on the way back, this is great place to stop, to enjoy unique scenary of Drina river and Visegrad with its famous bridge, which is of so much historical importance. To take a break in restaurants nearby the bridge is a real pleasure.

It's a nice bridge but you probably need to read Ivo Andrič's Nobel prize winning novel to be able to completely enjoy and understand its role throughout history. (I didn't.)

When we were here (August 14th, with sunny weather and about 35 degrees) the water was very warm, maybe 25 degrees and you could comfortably sit in the water without being cold. However!!!! Do not swim in the lake if you are afraid of snakes. They were swimming everywhere, both big and small ones. I don’t think they were dangerous though and mostly kept their distance. But watch where you put your feet when walking into the water.

Nice, there is not much water in the pools and in general like there is in some of the pictures (maybe it depends on the season? We were there in September). The stalactites there look a little dry. There is a relatively small descent to the cave, inside the cave there are metal stairs that slightly spoil the appearance. This is one of the most beautiful caves I have visited. The path to the cave is easy and can be reached in 5 minutes. The parking lot in front of the cave is large and costs 100 dinars. In the parking lot before the beginning of the path there are 2-3 souvenir shops where you can buy various souvenirs. The entrance to the cave is 400 dinars per person. The cave has a large opening, beautifully arranged paths, stairs and lighting. There is a waterfall in the cave, deep pools of water that looks like Pamukkale. This cave is worth visiting. I first visited it 7 years ago, and since then many things have changed, new stairs have been put above the pools and to the waterfall.

The cave itself is not so special as the Internet hyped me. There is not much water and the light effects don’t come into expression. We didn’t even get the tickets, only the bill.

One of the most beautiful, stunning, marvellous, breathtaking place I have been to. This is the natural cave with waterfall and water tubs. The Google says it closed at 4:30 but it is actually open until 6, so ppl can come until 5:45 (this is the time we reached) Do not miss this place at any chance if you’re in Serbia 🇷🇸

An incredibly beautiful place with a river meandering among mountainous landscape and griffon vultures hovering high above. It totally worth a moderately strenuous hike to the top of the hill to obverve the vistas.

Just so you know, and this is very important when planning your trip to this site. All the spectacular images of the winding river can be seen after a paid 4-5 hour cruise that includes a stop and a not-so-easy climb to an observation deck where you can see the winding river. From those who took the cruise, it was worth it. I understand that you can also get to the river windings by renting a paid ATV.

An amazing place. Definitely worth a visit the boat ride through the canyon is especially breathtaking. If you’re comfortable to hike then hike to the top of the Gornje Lopiže peak to see some scenic beauty.

The truly unique and magnificent destination of southwestern Serbia where more and more visitors come. Untouched nature, caves, lakes, endemic plant and species and the last refuge of almost extinct birds - griffon vulture, are just some of the things you can see during a visit to this natural reserve. I definitely could sit on the hill and watch this beauty all day long. The griffon vulture eagles are so many so I couldn’t even count. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Serbia.

We went to the top of the mountain to enjoy the view. Google maps and Waze guided us through a terrible off-road road, where we had to pave our own road with stones and pieces of wood, because the holes and ditches were so bad that it was impossible to drive through it. When we came back, we didn't want to use this road anymore and thought, whatever happens, let's go around. However, it turned out that there is a new asphalt road under construction, which neither Waze nor Google maps showed. So if the app wants to direct you off the asphalt road to an off road path, don't go and just drive along the asphalt road, it will lead you right to the free parking lot at the top of the hill. From there, you need to walk a little along the road to the viewing platform. I recommend wearing closed shoes as there were a lot of sharp rocks in some places.

The viewpoint which gives the serpentine view is not here..its bit far from here and involves trekking.

Beautiful mountain, surrounded by the Morava river. Great trek with a lot of paths ranging from extremely easygoing to some medium hard and one very good "via ferrata" . Along the paths you will be amazed by the views of nature and the near by peaks

Mount Kablar is located in western Serbia, near the city of Cacak, about 150km from Belgrade. With the Ovcar mountain, he builds Ovčarsko-Kablarska gorge through which flows the river West Morava. This area is rich in nature, a large number of birds and plants. From the very top view is priceless.

You can pay a 60€/pP entry fee to get an entry card, along with one clean towel and a key for a locker, only to find out that you get access to a small pull, filled with hotel guests and day-ticket holders, instead of access to the aqua park. At the only open restaurant it was a little bit chaotic and we had to wait relatively long for food and drinks. The entry for locals is currently out of space. For an average Serbian income it is like spending 15-20% of a monthly salary.

All is nice and perfect and clean etc, but one thing was driving me crazy "cash or credit card" after each single thing I did, whether I ordered ☕ or did massage, like I will escape from there. I didn't feel comfortable. I felt like a walking open wallet. Customer care is really under question mark, not to mention mind blowing prices. Its not my thing and I wooldnt recommend it if u want to enjoy and relax. When a bill arrives u will not b relaxed.

Many fun slides, waiting time aprox. 3 minutes. Great for families, especially on summer. The problem is that they don't allow you to bring any food/water inside, and the only restaurant in there is super expensive, unhealthy, with no vegetarian options.

Ok, so here is the thing: since 2018. pools are for the hotel guests only. Or you can get in but you would have to pay full day pool and wellness and spa entrance, which is pricey. It is 5* hotel after all. But that also means that there is no crowd at the pool, waiting time is non existant and especially before noon aqua park is almost empty. You also can't bring your own food, but you can buy snacks and meals at the pool restaurant. Prices are mid-range. I'm not sure about negative comments about the staff, from what I've seen everyone is polite, professional and doing a good job. All in all, it is steep price-wise but you get premium experience.

Studenica Monastery is probably the most famous, beautiful and largest monastery in Serbia, and a UNESCO heritage site. It was built in the 12th century by the rulers Stephan Namanja and his son Stephan the First-Crowned, of Nemanjic dynasty, and later expanded by other rulers. There are 3 churches (one was closed), as well as ruins of another one, monastic residences and other buidings. Churches are adorned with amazing frescoes from different periods, the most famous and well preserved one being the Crucifixion, fron 1209, in the main church. Studenica Monastery is one of the highest achievements of Byzantine-style art anywhere, and has to be visited on any tour to Serbia.

This is one of the Byzantine Monasteries listed on the UNESCO World Heritage site. It is an impressive fully operational Orthodox Serbian Church containing priceless Byzantine frescoes. The architecture is impressive with a combination of materials and styles that came to be known as the “Raška School”. A gorgeous doorway leads into a narthex (church entry) on the west end that contains a large baptismal font. The walls of the narthex are lined with frescoes. The nave is located through a doorway on the east end of this room and is also beautifully done. Built by Stefan Nemanja when he abdicated as king of Serbia in 1190 it has been well maintained by the Nemanjić Dynasty since its completion.

This monastery is one of the most beautiful ones I've been to so far. It's located amongst mountains and the scenery is just amazing. I would recommend coming to the monastery on a working day rather than a weekend as I assume it'd be less crowded. When we visited, there was a lot of high schoolers due to a school trip and there was quite a bit of tourtists as well.

I brought mine 8 y.o child in this memorial park and museum 21. October for the first time. It was very challenging how to explain horror of the Second World War and what really happened on this place so long ago. This memorial park and the Museum are places that have to been seen. Beautiful, peaceful place in Kragujevac city with lots of history behind every monument in it. Definitely worth of visiting although it left you with sadness and bitter taste.

A popular place for a walk with your family, friends or pets if you're in Kragujevac. Every October 21. there is a cultural show named "Veliki školski čas" where there are plays and a choir that is there to remind us of the tragic moments that our country's kids had to go through. You can catch a couple of people exercising on any other day of the year. All in all a breathtaking place everyone should visit.

A small bridge 4 m long on the Vrnjačka river whose fences are covered with thousands of padlocks. From the outside, it's nice, neat, well maintained. From inside the water park is not maintained, dirty, some parts are amateurishly repaired. The water park is in dire need of interior renovation!

The staff is extremely unsatisfactory, to put it the nicest way possible. They booked the wrong room first, were not very happy about correcting their mistake, and to make matters worse, they left us with no blankets or covers. Instead of fixing the issue, the receptionist was eager to say "we can't do that" to each of MY suggestions (don't think the receptionist would ever think of a solution themselves), and was open to arguing me for five minutes, instead of doing their job. I doubt I'll ever be booking any of the hotels from their chain again. I recommend avoiding this place. Also, the spa center is really not wow - you can find better ones for less money. Try another resort, my honest suggestion.

Polite staff and service is great. Hotel is clean and nice. The room was the smallest one we got for this weekend - it was not first time staying here. Pools are warm and hot, even those outside and sauna is great. But this time was only one of two sauna was in function .... Steam room was not in function also and salty room was not working. We had a breakfast and bed service I see in description that breakfast is free - it's not- on bill I saw few days later that they charged breakfast, it is some silly price (100 RSD / 0.85 EUR) but it is charged as a separate item. This didn't affected at price that we were told. It was snowing and outside pools were great at that moment.

Overall poor hygiene, especially the pools. Food is terrible, rooms are too hot with dirty bathrooms, everything is falling apart. Stay away from this place, unless you’re over 60. Old people love this s***hole!!!!

This is one of the places you must visit when travelling to Serbia or just passing through. Not far from main freeway. Beautiful and serene place with such a reach history.

A medieval fortress where a church was later built. In the back are new, very well-kept buildings. Everything very clean inside of the fortress. There is no charge, but if you want to climb the walls, you can get a ticket from the souvenir shop.

The most amazing Orthodox monastery I've visited so far. You can really feel the history within these walls. Really proud how this piece of Serbian history is taken care of. Looking forward to see it as a next Unesco heritage site!

Recommend to visit the place it is well preserved. And it has a great importance to history of Serbia. While visiting the monastery walls you can ask for short explanation in English.

An amazing castle with a rich history and stunning architecture. The structure is massive, and the details are truly impressive. Unfortunately, I visited when it was closed, so I couldn’t go inside but even from the outside, it was well worth the visit. Just standing there and taking it all in was an experience on its own.

If you're into history, medieval architecture, or just want to escape the city for a bit, this place is perfect. Wasn’t too crowded, but needs more information about site. There are no detailed signs or explanations… There’s plenty of parking, and nearby you can also visit Resava Cave or Lisine waterfall

Resavska Cave is definitely worth a visit if you're traveling through central Serbia. It offers a unique glimpse into the underground beauty of the region and is a memorable experience for nature enthusiasts and curious explorers alike.

This is the most popular cave in Serbia, 80 million old cave with a lot of interesting rock formations inside. At the entrance they even give you jackets in case you forget to bring your own as it will be a bit cold inside

Bring your jacket with you! It is cold. Only guided tours (in the price of the entrance included). They start every hour. The cave is beautiful and a lot of interesting formings.

A phenomenal natural phenomenon over 80 million years old! The tour lasts about 30 minutes. Throughout the year, the temperature in the cave does not exceed 10 degrees, during our tour it was 8 degrees Celsius. Recommended to visit!

We had a great experience visiting the cave. Our tour guide was fantastic – very knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to both Serbian and international guests. He switched smoothly between languages so everyone felt included and understood. The tours are scheduled, so you may need to wait a little before entering, but it’s well worth it. Overall, it was an organized, informative, and enjoyable visit.

Wonderful experience in fascinating caves. Our guide didn't speak any English so we were glad to have our own family translator ;) Tours leaving on the hour (Aug 25). Absolutely worth the trip to this lovely part of the countryside.

This place is 10min by car and more than an 1h but foot. There is one main waterfall and a few smaller ones. You will enjoy the walk and nature around.

One of the most beautiful parts of Serbia!!! You can reach the waterfall for 20min by walking or pay a taxi to around 3 euro. The waterfall can be seen in the spring and autumn when the snow melts and there is only a small pool during the summer. beautiful nature and a very nice departure there because there is clean air, there is a lot of forest, enough for a man to rest

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Serbia. When you are visiting Eastern Serbia do not miss this natural treasure... Since there was so much water and waterfall looked so alive, I believe that best time of the year to visit it would be end of February, this would be my advice, just not to miss it in all his beauty. People sometimes come here during summer and there is no water or it is just barely alive...It is few minutes Sokobanja, so when in Sokobanja, visiting Ripaljka is a must... 😀

If you’re visiting Soko Banja then you can ad this place to your “to visit list”. You can reach this place by a car and by walking. If you are coming by car you will find parking area close to the waterfall. Even so the restaurant, small souvenir shops, hospital and a small lake. If walking (depends in which season you’re visiting) it will take you round one hour walk. You will find some limited information in which direction you will walk but it’s not any marked path. Most of the walk would be on the local road up or downhill and you need to be careful and watch the passing cars.

Neglected to be honest, love the story of the place and the lessons that you get for that happened here in the past but the place is dying slowly. They should renovate and take care of it more so we can have it through the years. Only 2.5€ and you CAN PAY BY CARD! Very important because we didn't had cash on us. No guided tour, you can just look around alone

Definitely worth a vist. Very poignant and disturbing. Note the faded writing over the ticket office. Plenty of information to read and many personal stories. We spent around 2 hours there and took everything in. As a result of the visit we decided to walk up to the memorial where many of the camp inmates were executed. It's about a 40 minute walk from the camp and once there about a 20 minute walk back to the centre.

Visiting the Nazi concentration camp in Niš was a deeply moving and educational experience. The site is well preserved and respectfully curated, offering powerful insights into the events that took place there. The story of the escape on February 12th stands out as a moment of incredible courage and hope in the face of darkness. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history and in honoring the resilience of the human spirit.

I would highly recommend a visit if you’re a history buff like me. Walking around this place of death was eerie and cold. This place is well preserved. As you walk into the building where thousands of people were caged and tortured while waiting for execution the mind and imagination haunts you. It’s certainly changed my life having visited this place.

Some things should never be forgotten. I recommend to visit. Unfortunately, place is kind of neglected and with no true respect to all fallen victims. Cars of employees parked inside, some places turned into offices, some garbage outside. This place could be much better. It's just not enough will to do something.

These places are never easy to visit. It was very informative of the atrocities that took place. A good place to visit and pay your respect for the fallen.

Great place to spend a couple of hours and it's free. There are information plaques in Serbian and English located around the site with explanations of what you can see. Definitely worth a visit.

Νιce view near river nisava. The gate is across the bridge. It is a theatre and has coffee and food shops inside the fortress.

A wonderful and interesting archaeological place. It also contains places to buy beautiful souvenirs, in addition to quiet cafes surrounded by a forest with a beautiful view. It is really a wonderful place to enjoy.

A great place to visit in the city. There are many old things and buildings in the fortress that you should see. At the entrance there is a public toilet that is free, and in front of it a souvenir shop. There are two small trains here for the youngest who want to enjoy a walk through the park in a different way. A large part of the fortress is under deep shadows. The whole place is with lush vegetation and lots of greenery. Here you will see the remains of an old church, a mosque, a lapidarium, visit museums and many other things. In August, one of the most famous music festivals in the region, Nisville, takes place. It is worth visiting.

Good park, with some attractions around. Has a place for coffee, several souvenir shops, and an open stage with events (might be available online, but I'm not sure). There was no entry fee nor ticket required, but it could be only for this visit. It has a miniature locomotive which provides a sightseeing tour, not sure if it is guided. We parked at a public payed parking, but at the end of the work time for Saturday, but we found it a bit difficult for people who do not have a local Sim card. There is an app, but requires an account which we did not bother to make. Nearly there is a bazaar which has WONDERFUL produce at EXTREMELY affordable prices. Those aromas and tastes took me back to my childhood at my grandma's house - just wonderful, highly recommend!!!

A tower constructed from 952 skulls of 19th-century Serbian rebels. The tower was built to serve as a lesson to Serbs who wanted to break away from the Ottoman Empire and was later converted into a monument. Until 1878, the tower remained open and unprotected, leaving only 58 skulls remaining today due to weather conditions and the fact that the skulls were taken away by rebel relatives for burial. In 1892, with donations from across Serbia, a church was built by Belgrade architect Dimitrije T. Leko, encompassing and enclosing the tower on all sides.

A unique and moving historical site in Niš. Skull Tower is a powerful reminder of the past, well preserved inside a chapel. Entrance is 300 RSD = 2.5€, and the visit takes about 20–30 minutes. Highly recommended for history lovers

Most unique monument in the world. Built by the Ottomans in 1809 as a warning to the Balkan people to not try to do battle with them. Made of the skills of proud Serbian warriors that sacrificed themselves instead of being captured.

Tickets can be bought in the building next to it, but there was no one to check. Around 300 dinars from what I remember. Would be nice if there were more details to the story presented, but I understand why they would want to keep it as it is. All in all, weird feeling that you get there, keeps reminding us of what humans are capable of just for power.

Sad story of the Serbs and what happened when they finally had a TINY bit of success against the Ottomans. To imagine that this tower still stands where it was originally built in 1809 was amazing.

It's worth a vist and the entrance fee is not too high. It's probably about a 10 minute vist to see the 4 sides of the tower and read the 4 information boards.

Momchilov Grad (also known as Momchilovo Kale or Pirot Fortress), according to legend, it was built in the 14th century by the Rhodopean Bulgarian ruler Momchil Voivoda. It is definitely worth a visit, although the views from it are not impressive but rather disappointing—dirty and in stark contrast to the fortress.

2025: Back ~6 years later. Now a renovated, modern fortress, open for a few hours a day 10 - 15h, free to enter. There are even screens with videos promoting and explaining Serbian culture. I loved it. So glad things have changed for the better! Be responsible and keep it clean. 2018/9: 1*. No actual need to stop here. The fortress is OK, from the outside, but is closed permanently. The garden around it is dirty and really nothing to see. You can stop if you pass by, for 10 min or so, should be enough to walk around it. Pirot's market is a better attraction.

I think this is the second time I come to Pirot, and the second time the fortress is closed an hour earlier than what it says on the sign outside.... not great for the single tourist attraction in Pirot...

A beautiful historical monument of old Serbia. Nearby there is a beautiful park for a walk and a picnic, a nice place to take it with the family.

It is a great space to explore and visit. You do not have to buy a ticket, it is free. Next to the fortress, there is a huge park. It is nice to stay there on sunny days.

The most interesting thing in Pirot! I would definitely recommend visiting this castle from 14th century. It is located near the city centre. There isn't an entrance fee. The castle is fairly big and well-preserved.

Unfortunately is not well maintained from the staff, not too expensive 7,5€ but it's in a very remote region from Sofia. Better to spend one night in the area to visit also the Danube border region. They use it for events so the installation are unfortunately someway invasive.
