Nestled in the serene mountain landscapes of Nepal, Rupa Lake is a captivating freshwater gem that beckons nature lovers and tranquility seekers alike. As the second largest lake among the seven lakes in Lekhnath, it offers a peaceful retreat away from the bustling city life of Pokhara. Surrounded by lush greenery and forests, Rupa Lake is not only a haven for wetland birds but also serves as a conservation area for stunning white lotuses.
Rupa lake is one of the most quit and peaceful lake I have ever experienced. People around here are helpful and the places to live are cozy. You should atleast visit once in a lifetime. Donot miss if you are around begnas lake.
Harish D — Google review
Rupa Lake is an incredibly peaceful and picturesque destination in Pokhara that offers a serene escape into nature. 🏞️💧 The lake, surrounded by lush greenery and hills, provides a beautifully tranquil environment perfect for relaxation. The crystal-clear waters and the stunning reflection of the surrounding mountains create a picturesque view that’s perfect for photography or simply soaking in the natural beauty. The area is less crowded compared to some other lakes in Pokhara, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful boat ride or a quiet walk along the shore. The peaceful ambiance and the gorgeous natural scenery make it a perfect place to relax, meditate, or even have a picnic with family or friends. If you’re visiting Pokhara and want to experience a quieter, more serene spot in nature, Rupa Lake is definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy Nepal's beauty in a peaceful setting! 🌿✨

Lake was located about 20 kilometers southeast via Prithivi Highway on the way toward Kathmandu. A beautifully elongated lake with a lot of floras & faunas. Lot of birds were seen around. Cage & pen fish farming was seen. Few wooden boats were at the edge of lake to be hired for a ride. Beautiful view of both Rupa & Begnas lake was seen from the view tower above the hill top.
Rajendra S — Google review
Lake located in Lekhnatha Area.located at an elevation of 600 meters and covered an area of 135 hectares nominated as the third largest lake of the valley among others 9 lakes. The deepest point of the lakes measures 6 meters. 28 species of native fishes and 11 exotic species have been recorded from the lake.
Ajay S — Google review
Beautiful lake.. but it's like ignored, there's no infrastructure build to attract tourist. It's like a forgotten lake even though it's very close to Pokhara city. Government and locals should involve to build tourist attractions there.
Sanjaya — Google review
So beautiful and peace.

Rupa Lake is the second biggest Lake among all seven lakes in Lekhnath. A heaven for wetland birds and a conservation area for white lotus, Rupa lake is located in Kaski district of Nepal, with a less disturbed natural experience of the lake and its beauty. A place to be indeed.A newly raod constructed as well as suspension bridge over the lake.therefor, more and more local tourist are fascinating to visit wonderful lake .It has also local community to protect various fish and sell on market which taste is super delicious and equally healthy. Rupa Lake or Rupa Tal is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in Kaski District. It is the third biggest lake in the Pohara valley of Nepal and at an altitude of 600 m (1,969 ft) covering an area of about 1.35 km2 (0.5 sq mi) with an average water depth of 3 m and a maximum depth of 6 m. Rupa Lake is a blessing from Mother Nature and has been there since the rise of humanity. As this lake resides further away from the landmass of Pokhara, it does not get the appeal that it deserves. In recent times, due to the crash in the Tourism Industry, Rupa Lake is gaining quite a bit of attention and praise. It is less congested than Phewa Lake, and you can enjoy the tranquility and chirping of birds. .
Yuvraj S — Google review
Personally, I didnt like the lake but I guess it is nice sometime to visit it when the water isnt turbid. It is one of the larger lakes of Pokhara city which is separated by a hill slope from the Begnas lake and is surrounded by very inactive Zoological park.

Chitwan National Park

Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Chitwan National Park, established in 1973, covers an area of 932 square kilometers and is home to a variety of wildlife including Bengal tigers, monkeys, crocodiles, deer, colorful birds, and the endangered one-horned rhino. Visitors can take a private jeep safari arranged through Sapana Lodge to explore the park and have the chance to spot wild elephants, sloth bears, and even leopards if they're lucky.
Amazing jungle experience! Saw rhinos, deer, elephants, different kinds of birds, little monkey. Peaceful nature, great local guides, and unforgettable safari moments. Perfect for nature and adventure lovers.
Bikalpa B — Google review
Chitwan National Park is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. The natural beauty is breathtaking, the lush greenery, wildlife all around, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you slow down and truly enjoy the moment. Watching the sunset from the bank of the Rapti River was magical, with the sky reflecting on the water in the most stunning colors. I also had the chance to meet some wonderful local people, whose warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special. Ending the day with the Tharu cultural dance was the perfect touch: joyful, vibrant, and a beautiful way to connect with the local traditions. It was more than just a trip; it felt like a meaningful experience that I’ll always cherish.
Anis B — Google review
A beautiful taste of the jungle. Keep safari was disappointing however the canoe ride absolutely made up for this. Guides are professional. I wouldn’t recommend staying for more than a few days, once you’ve seen the local culture and experienced the safaris I would move onto your next destination. Plenty of options on the main high street to eat and drink. Worth a stop, but wouldn’t make this the focal point of your trip as I personally believe Nepal has more to offer!
John — Google review
"Just back from an exhilarating jungle safari in Chitwan National Park, Nepal! The lush greenery, majestic wildlife, and serene surroundings made for an unforgettable adventure. Spotted rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, lizards and exotic birds in their natural habitat. A perfect blend of thrill and tranquility in the heart of nature. Highly recommend this experience for any wildlife enthusiast!"
Amit C — Google review
Spending time by the river, surrounded by whispering trees and the gentle sounds of flowing water, felt like a return to something pure and essential. Birds sang overhead while deer peeked curiously from the woods, and the cool breeze carried the scent of earth and leaves. It was a blissful moment of connection—with nature, with peace, and with myself. Everything felt calm, alive, and beautifully in harmony.
Aarogya K — Google review
Main attractions are closed for 3 months ( July , August and September) if you travel during these 3 months you will only be allowed to do safari in buffer zone and outer zone. Try not to visit during these months. Overall good experience, spotting a Tiger is by luck but you will surely spot Deers, Crocodile, Rhino, Monkey
Tejas A — Google review
Loved the park. Beautiful landscapes. The bars in the village by the river are a perfect place for a beer at sunset. I’ve enjoyed both the tours by Jeep than the ones by canoe and walking.
Andrea G — Google review
Chitwan National Park is an incredible wildlife experience and a must-visit destination for nature lovers! 🐘🌳 The park offers an unforgettable safari experience where you can see wild elephants, rhinos, tigers, and a wide variety of bird species in their natural habitat. The lush greenery and diverse ecosystems make this park a true gem in Nepal’s natural beauty. The jeep safari and canoe rides are well-organized and led by expert guides who provide fascinating insights into the park's rich flora and fauna. The thrill of spotting a one-horned rhinoceros up close or hearing the sounds of the jungle is something you will never forget. The nature walks also offer a peaceful way to explore the surroundings and connect with nature. The park’s commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism is evident in the well-maintained facilities and the efforts made to protect the wildlife. It’s a perfect place for anyone wanting to experience Nepal’s natural side and engage with its vibrant wildlife. Highly recommended for anyone interested in wildlife, nature, and adventure. If you’re in Nepal, a visit to Chitwan National Park is absolutely a must! 🦏🌿✨

Elephant Breeding Center

Mentioned on

Livestock breeder
Nature & Parks
The Elephant Breeding Center, located just 3 kilometers west of Sauraha, is a delightful family-friendly destination that offers visitors the chance to observe elephants of all ages while learning about their care and feeding. This center plays a crucial role in providing elephants for safaris within Chitwan National Park. While some may find it resembles more of an elephant parking lot than a traditional breeding facility, the sight of playful calves frolicking together is undeniably heartwarming.
An incredible spot inside Chitwan National Park - the Elephant Breeding & Training Centre. It’s truly mesmerizing to watch these gentle giants up close. A must-visit if you're exploring the park!
Yalakhom K — Google review
The good: Elephants look healthy and calm with shelter from the sun and plenty of food and water. Does look like it’s kept clean. The elephants interact with people daily with the trainer feeding the calf sugarcane. The “not so good”…: the adult elephants are kept (on very short) chains during part of the day… and supposedly they are free to roam the jungle the other part of the day… I guess we are mindful we don’t really know how long they are chained up during the day - it could very well be 5 minutes or 20 hours…
Ivo V — Google review
Ambient and nice places to go . Tickets are only required to visit inside centre. One can enjoy green lust of fields outside the centre which is spread in large area didn’t require any tickets.
Jessi P — Google review
Nice place to see elephants but when we went they were all chained up so pretty sad. Some reviews show them roaming freely but we didn't see any roaming free. Pretty small place. You have to cross a big bridge to get there, but you can see everything in less than an hour unless you decide to roam around off pavement. We bought sugar cane to feed the elephants so it was still a good experience to see mom and babies.
Uyen — Google review
Stop going there! We witnessed them hit a baby elephant with a stick that had metal on it. The elephants are chained (elephants are not domestic animals), and they set things on fire near them, then move away to avoid the smoke while the elephants are left surrounded by it. It's a place of pain. In the forest, they beat them to force them to gather what they need (just walked by and it was painful to watch.)
Blue C — Google review
The place is nice. But not much you can expect. These looked like more for short stay elephants. You will see some small once’s running around or being chained near their mothers. The place can be visited in the morning within an hour max. Nothing much to do or see. The place is serene and nice for an early morning stroll. If you are lucky you may see a group of deers wondering outside the breeding area.
John L — Google review
Very cute little elephants roaming free is the best view. Lots of elephants here. This place has upgraded since the last time with a huge bridge that's just across the river which else had to be crossed on a canoe made of tree hollowed out. It's a nice place to meet nature but. It's a breeding and training center for elephants.
Rahul S — Google review
I visited this place as part of a travel agency's arrangement, but after seeing it, I wouldn't recommend it at all. It's an extremely small area, so small that you can walk through it in just five minutes. What’s even more distressing is that the elephants' situation is a form of cruelty, both to the elephants themselves and to those who come to see them. The elephants are chained by their legs for some unknown reason, and some even have their two front legs shackled together, making them only able to hop rather than walk. I saw the elephants pacing restlessly and crying out in anxiety. Some people might find the elephants' calls intriguing, but all I felt throughout my visit was a deep sense of sorrow.

Chitwan Jungle Safari

Safari, canoe ride & trip to an elephant breeding center in Chitwan National Park conservation area.
3 hours jungle safari saw caged tiger and other animals like deer, etc.

🌿 I had an amazing experience at Chitwan Jungle Safari! The trip was well organized, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and I got to see rhinos, deer, and many beautiful birds. The nature, river view, and peaceful jungle atmosphere were unforgettable. Highly recommend this place to everyone who loves wildlife and adventure! 🌳🐘✨
Shalik D — Google review
Instead of using an agency, I went straight to the checkpoint and purchased the safari directly from the guide, Jungle Man, who is in the last photo. There is only one official operator of the jeep tours inside the park, and all the agents sell the same offers. I received offers ranging from 1600 to 2500 for the exact same trip. Ultimately, I purchased the safari directly from the guide for 1720, which included the entrance fee for the crocodile farm. Additionally, I paid 2000 for the permit, which is valid for one day inside the park and one day in the perimeter zone, totaling two days. Most people I spoke to did a 4-hour jeep safari inside the park, like I did, and a 4-hour morning hike in the perimeter area. There is also an option for a whole day hiking safari, but I don't have any feedback on that one. We also encountered at least three pairs of hikers inside the park. Such hikes require two guides for protection. Both the walk inside the park and the walk in the perimeter zone were highly recommended by everyone I spoke to. They mentioned that they could observe animals up close, and since the walk is silent and there are only a few people, it doesn't scare the animals away. The jeep safari was fantastic as well. We saw a total of 13 rhinos on seven different occasions. Additionally, we saw at least 100 deer that looked like Bambi, one large black deer, some wild pigs, multiple different bird species, and our jeep even got stuck in a ditch, which was quite exciting on its own. I regret not staying one more day to do the hike instead of rushing to Kathmandu. I had the time, and it would have been worth it.

It was a great experience. FOUR hours of ride inside jungle as a jungle safari was a big memorandum. We got chance to see one horn rihno, leopard, deer etc during this ride. The flying peacock was just amazing.

It was great to dive into the real jungle. Don't expect to see too many animals from close of you go walking. Though you might see some crocodiles and rhino from far

Manakamana Temple

Mentioned on
1 list
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Manakamana Temple is a pagoda-style Hindu temple located in Nepal, dedicated to a goddess believed to grant wishes to worshippers. The temple is situated at an altitude of around 4300ft and can be reached by a cable car that offers breathtaking views of the mountains and rivers. Visitors often experience long waiting times, sometimes up to 6 hours, before getting inside for darshan. However, the management of the temple has been criticized for issues such as queue mismanagement and cleanliness.
The views surrounding the temple are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you're hiking up or taking the cable car, the lush green hills and panoramic vistas of the Himalayas are awe-inspiring. The cable car ride is especially popular for offering an exciting and unique way to get to the temple.
Shivam C — Google review
Manakamana Temple: Manakamana Temple (Nepali: Manakamana Mandir), Meaning 'temple that grants wishes of its devotees', the name "Manakamana" is said to come from two words: "mana," meaning heart, and "kamana," meaning wish. It is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bhagwati, who is believed to grant wishes. It is founded by Arman Rayamajhi in 1678. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination, located on a hilltop with views of the mountains. Visitors can reach the temple by a cable car ride, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Manakamana Temple is located 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) above sea level on the Kafakdada Hill which sits in the confluence between Trishuli and Marsyangdi in the Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality in Gorkha, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is approximately 106 kilometres (66 mi) west of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and about 94 kilometres (58 mi) east of Pokhara. Many mountains can be seen from the hill including Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and Baudha which is part of Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world. According to Nepali legend, Manakamana Temple was built in the 17th century during the reign of two Kings of Gorkha, Ram Shah or Prithvipati Shah. The Queen of Gorkha possessed "divine powers" of Manakamana which was only known by the priest Lakhan Thapa of Magar origin. One fine day, the king saw his wife in form of Goddess Manakamana, and priest as a lion, after he told her about this the king mysteriously died. Per historical Hindu practice of Sati, the queen sacrificed herself by sitting atop her deceased husband's funeral pyre. Prior to her death, she told St. Lakhan Thapa Magar that she would appear again, six months later, a farmer working on the field split a stone which apparently started a stream of blood and milk. After hearing about this, St. Lakhan Thapa Magar went to where the stone was located and started to do Hindu tantric rituals which halted the stream. Later he built a shrine at the same spot so that their wishes can come true, and also the priest of the temple should necessarily be a descendant of Saint Lakhan Thapa Magar who is described as a spiritual guide for Ram Shah.

We visited the day after Teej...No Line no people there..Cable car was empty...So we went up and came back after darshan in just 1 and half hour including all the photo taking rituals😂 And also the puja was done efficiently by pandits inside for about 5 minutes without any pressure...there are lots of puja samagri sellers and bhojanalayas owners who insist and force you to take or buy their items or eat in their place...Its quiet noisy environment there...But the temple premises is serene tranquil and calm as well as peaceful!!! People offer goat as their devotion!!! and fly pigeons too..Even this is rainy season/ kind of summer too but this is the best time to vist here...as most of the people take rest after Teej..and this is non weekend time too...so we got blessed with shorter lines and queues both for temple and cable car boarding and returning back....😊 Will visit again..before this had visited in 2014 August and 2017 November!!! this time 2025 August...hope Mata Manakamana calls soon!!!

Manakamana Mandir, perched on a peaceful hill in Gorkha, is one of Nepal’s most beloved pilgrimage sites. The name Manakamana means “the goddess who fulfills heartfelt wishes.” Surrounded by lush hills and breathtaking views of the Himalayas, the temple welcomes thousands of devotees seeking blessings for health, happiness, and success. The journey by cable car feels magical, floating above rivers and green valleys. Rich in legend and faith, Manakamana is not just a temple but a sacred place where prayers meet hope.
Bharat D — Google review
"A sacred temple believed to fulfill wishes of the devotees. The cable car ride to reach the temple is an amazing experience on its own. Around the temple, you can find shops and food stalls. A perfect combination of faith, culture, and scenic beauty." And experience is outstanding 😊

Manakamana Cable Car Bottom Station

Mountain cable car
Transportation
Transportation service
The Manakamana Cable Car offers a thrilling and scenic journey to the revered Manakamana Temple. As you ascend through the misty mountains, you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. The cable car itself is modern and well-maintained, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. Once you reach the temple, you can immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere and offer prayers. However, be prepared for crowds, especially during peak seasons. Despite this, the cable car ride and the temple visit make for a memorable experience.

Holy place that has amazing vibe. Must visit. Cable car experience with the landscape is worth visiting

The Manakamana Cable Car bottom station is well-managed and sets the right tone for the journey ahead. The facilities are organized, clean, and visitor-friendly, with clear ticketing counters and waiting areas. Staff are helpful and guide you smoothly through the boarding process. The station offers a comfortable start before you ascend, with options for refreshments and basic amenities available. From here, the cable car ride to the Manakamana Temple is not only convenient but also scenic, giving you a breathtaking view of the hills and river below. Overall, the bottom station is efficient, well-maintained, and makes the entire pilgrimage or visit to Manakamana a pleasant experience right from the beginning.
Monal P — Google review
Very scenic. Worth the price. Online tickets are available and I recommend that. They stop for lunch (12:45 - 13:30, as I recall), so time correctly.

We visited the day after Teej...No Line no people there..Cable car was empty...So we went up and came back after darshan in just 1 and half hour including all the photo taking rituals😂 And also the puja was done efficiently by pandits inside... the Manakamana Cable Car bottom station at Kurintar offers a well-organized and efficiently great starting point for the journey to the Famous Manakamana Temple. The station is clean and freshly maintained...The queueing system, while potentially very long on peak days like festivals and holidays, is generally well-managed. The staff are helpful and the safety features of the Austrian-imported cable car system are clearly highlighted, instilling confidence in visitors Cable car Carrying capacity 6 person /450kg per gondola and 660 persons per hour...Ticket cost 770 per person normal nepali...25% discount for students and senior citizen above 70+... Beyond just a boarding point, the station complex includes amenities like restrooms, a cafeteria, and small shops like Nds icecream and miniso, which are convenient for pilgrims and tourists alike. The surrounding views of the Trishuli River and the lush hills are a great award to the breathtaking aerial journey ahead. This station efficiently transforms a tedious trek into a comfortable and scenic 10-minute ride, making the pilgrimage accessible to a wider range of visitors. It’s a great example of modern technology meeting traditional culture in Nepal.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
This is Maisthan Mandir. It is beautiful and surrounded by many small temples. The vibrancy of the sculpture leaves me in awe every time I see it. Every time I go to Birgunj, I make sure I visit this temple. There are many shops outside where you can buy prasad for the puja. However, you can simply visit the temple and bow in front of the goddess and seek her blessings.

Mai Sthan Mandir in Birgunj is an extraordinary place of worship that undoubtedly deserves a resounding five-star review. The temple's architectural beauty and intricate craftsmanship are awe-inspiring, capturing the essence of Hindu culture and spirituality. The serene atmosphere and the soothing chants create an aura of tranquility and devotion. The dedicated priests and staff ensure a seamless experience for all visitors, providing guidance and assistance. The temple's significance as a revered pilgrimage site adds to its charm. Maisthan Mandir in Birgunj is a lovely and peaceful place. It has many small temples around it. The colorful statues are very beautiful. I visit it every time I go to Birgunj. You can buy prasad from the shops outside or just pray and take blessings from the goddess🙏
Dipendra R — Google review
It is situated at the focal point of a bustling business sector. It is a little sanctuary of hindu goddess. In this way, on the off chance that you are visiting Birgunj and want to love the goddess, you may go there. You should remove your shoes at the passageway by side of the road. Little eateries are around there and you might need to taste aalu chaat there. Goods, vegetables and organic products are sold around the sanctuary. This places gets crowded in the festival seasons.

Chandragiri Cable Car Top Station

Mountain cable car
Transportation
Lush green hill with a cable car ride to an observation tower for panoramic views of the Himalayas.
Great place to see the beautiful mountains surrounding Kathmandu. The view is breathtaking and it's an easy journey in the cable car to the top of the mountain. Do watch out for their break times so that you don't get stranded at the top. Waiting to descend. Also remember they have no control of the clouds.
Eric W — Google review
A good and relaxing place for you to visit. Good place for all ages, including kids. The cable car ride, in my opinion, is a little expensive but not bad for the experience you get. Food options are decent and satisfying in taste. A lot of options for adventures, including zipline and kids playing area (not free unfortunately).
Arpan D — Google review
Beautiful and worth it experience to have if you are visiting Kathmandu. Must have 3-4 hours time to fully enjoy the cable car experience and the mountains and breathtaking views at the top of Chandragiri hills. The ambience, winds and weather just changes the moment you reach there. It has amazing vibe and serene environment. The weather is unpredictable as it could be sun shining bright at a moment and the very next moment it might get cloudy and start to rain. Beautiful spot to cherish some moments with your loved ones. Also offer multiple activities like zip line, skywalk, free fall, sky cycling etc. If you are a vegetarian, please try the French fries, noodles and momos there.
Shreya S — Google review
Chandragiri Hill is definitely one of the best short getaways near Kathmandu. The cable car ride is an amazing experience — gliding above lush green forests with cool, fresh air all around feels refreshing and peaceful. Once you reach the top, the panoramic view of the Himalayas is absolutely breathtaking. On clear days, you can see the majestic Ganesh, Langtang, Manaslu, and even Annapurna ranges. The temple, the view tower, and the well-maintained garden make the place really enjoyable to explore. However, there are a few things that could be improved. The cable car ticket is quite expensive, and visitors are not allowed to bring their own food or water. Once you reach the top, everything is overpriced — even basic items cost a lot. For example, a bottle of water that costs Rs. 20 in the city is sold for Rs. 100 there. It feels a bit unfair and takes away from the overall good experience. Apart from that, it’s a wonderful place to relax, take photos, and enjoy time with family or friends. The cleanliness, scenic beauty, and peaceful atmosphere make it worth visiting at least once.
Ashok L — Google review
If you're looking for a perfect escape from the busy streets of Kathmandu without going too far, Chandragiri Hills is an excellent choice. Located just about 12 kilometers southwest of the city, this serene hilltop destination offers stunning views, fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and a touch of spiritual charm—all rolled into one memorable trip. Getting there is half the fun. The cable car ride is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the visit. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the top, and the ride itself is smooth, scenic, and exciting. As you ascend, the city slowly fades beneath you and lush green hills take over. On clear days, you’re treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, including peaks like Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and even Mount Everest in the distance. It’s the kind of view that reminds you why Nepal is so unique. Once you reach the top station, the atmosphere instantly shifts. It’s calm, cool, and spacious—perfect for relaxation and taking a break from city life. The air feels fresher, and the panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley below are incredible. There’s something truly magical about standing above the clouds, with the capital far below and the mighty mountains stretched out in front of you. At the summit, you'll find the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine believed to be linked with the legend of Sati Devi. Devotees come to pay their respects, light incense, and ring the temple bells. Even if you’re not religious, the energy here is peaceful and grounding, making it a lovely place to pause and reflect. There are also well-maintained gardens, stone-paved walkways, and plenty of benches for sitting and soaking in the view. Whether you're visiting with family, on a romantic day out, or exploring solo, Chandragiri has something to offer. Children will enjoy the open spaces to run around, and there’s even a small play area to keep them entertained. When hunger strikes, the hilltop has several restaurants and cafes that serve both Nepali and international food. Sitting on a terrace with a warm cup of tea, watching the sun dip behind the mountains, is an experience hard to forget. The facilities are modern, clean, and tourist-friendly, which makes the trip even more comfortable. Chandragiri is also popular as a short hiking destination. Some adventurers choose to hike up through the forest trails, enjoying birdsong and nature all the way to the top—a great option for those seeking a bit more activity. In summary, Chandragiri Hills is a beautiful blend of natural beauty, spiritual significance, and modern comfort. It’s ideal for a half-day or full-day trip, offering incredible views, a peaceful temple, great food, and the unforgettable thrill of the cable car. Whether you're a tourist visiting Kathmandu or a local looking for a quick getaway, Chandragiri offers a refreshing experience above the clouds.

Chandragiri Hills is a popular Nepal tourist spot for its panoramic mountain views, cultural significance, and the Chandragiri Cable Car, offering access to the Bhaleshwar Mahadev Temple and the Chandragiri Hills Resort. While visitors praise the stunning scenery and high-quality resort amenities, including an infinity pool and spa, some reviews caution about potential cloud cover obscuring the mountain views, recommending morning or mid-afternoon visits to avoid the thickest clouds and crowds.

Amazing experience whn traveling through canle car in dense low clouds. At one point of time we thot we r in sky where we were unable to to see the next cable car too. Temple is also very soothing. The cable car ride at Chandragiri Hills was like a dream come true. The 9-13 minute journey offered breathtaking views of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan mountains. Visiting the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple brought a peaceful spiritual experience. A must-visit spot for all tourists!"

Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the heart of the city and boasts a 1427 CE palace, numerous temples, statues, and intricate gates. The square is a treasure trove of stone art, metal art, wood carving, and terracotta art. Visitors can marvel at architectural showpieces like the Golden Gate and the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla atop stone monoliths.
For foreigners, please purchase your entrance ticket to Bhaktapur and keep it with you to enter other places. The square was very close to other temples and square. Lots to taxis to catch rides on and some traditional clothing experience was available nearby. History of 6 Castle was very fascinating, and there are three museums within and nearby. All the artworks, wood carvings, and stone carvings were very cool, and you can also take some nice photos.

All of a sudden, you find yourself transported to another era. Few places in Kathmandu Valley can boast such an exquisitely preserved relic of the past, still very much alive in the present and destined to endure far into our shared future. Not just buildings but also culture and faith. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a living museum, where ancient temples and palaces stand not as mere relics but as active centers of worship and culture. The intricate wood carvings, towering pagodas, and sacred courtyards whisper stories of centuries gone by, while daily rituals and festivals breathe life into these age-old stones. Walking through its cobbled lanes, you don’t just observe history—you become part of it.

Pottery Square in Bhaktapur is one of those rare places where culture, craftsmanship, and community come together beautifully. Located just a short walk from the iconic Nyatapola Temple, this charming square offers a glimpse into the living heritage of traditional pottery-making. Here, you can witness local artisans skillfully shaping clay into beautiful pots, utensils, and decorative items—each piece telling its own story of Bhaktapur’s rich artistic legacy. What makes Pottery Square truly special is the authentic experience it offers. Visitors are not just spectators; you can actually join a pottery class and try your hand at crafting your own clay masterpiece. During my visit, a friendly local vendor even offered me a private class at a very affordable price, possibly because it was the low season. It turned out to be a fun, hands-on experience that gave me a deeper appreciation for the patience and skill involved in traditional pottery-making. Beyond the craft itself, the atmosphere of Pottery Square is warm, inviting, and filled with positive energy. The owners and artisans are incredibly welcoming and love sharing stories about their work and heritage. The structures, courtyards, and the earthy aroma of clay create a truly nostalgic and peaceful setting. It’s not just a marketplace—it’s a living museum where tradition thrives in every corner. If you’re visiting Bhaktapur, make sure to reserve some extra time here to interact with the locals, support their art, and perhaps take home a unique handmade souvenir. Go local, support local — and experience the heart of Bhaktapur at Pottery Square!

Rising proudly above Bhaktapur’s Taumadhi Square, the Nyatapola Temple stands as a timeless guardian of Nepal’s heritage. Its name, meaning “five stories” in the Newari language, perfectly describes its soaring structure — a five-tiered pagoda that has watched over the city since 1702 AD. Commissioned by King Bhupatindra Malla, the temple was miraculously completed in just a few months, a testament to the skill and devotion of Newar artisans. Dedicated to Siddhi Lakshmi, a powerful form of the goddess Parvati, it was built not merely as a shrine, but as a symbol of strength and balance in a world of divine forces. Legend has it that the temple was erected to tame the fierce energy of Bhairava, the nearby deity known for his destructive power. To restore harmony, the king built this towering temple for Siddhi Lakshmi, whose spiritual might could keep Bhairava’s energy in check. Beyond the myth, historical records tell of an extraordinary communal effort — craftsmen, builders, and laborers from across the Malla kingdom working together to create what would become Nepal’s tallest and most enduring temple. Even nature’s fury has tested it: earthquakes in 1934 and 2015 shook the valley, yet Nyatapola stood firm, its foundation and design proving the brilliance of traditional Newari engineering. When approaching the temple, we are immediately drawn to its grand staircase guarded by stone sentinels — wrestlers, elephants, lions, griffins, and deities — each pair ten times stronger than the one below. Climbing these steps rewards travelers with sweeping views of Taumadhi Square and the old city beyond, where terracotta roofs and bustling alleys tell stories centuries old. Though the inner sanctum is closed to the public and accessible only to priests, the temple’s exterior majesty is more than enough to inspire awe. It's the crown jewel of Bhaktapur, elegance and resilience. It feels like stepping back into a living history — a city that breathes through its temples. The climb can be steep, and qe have seen other pagoda-style temples in the Kathmandu Valley and we find the architecture somewhat familiar. But still this Nyatapola’s towering grace and intricate symbolism make it anything less than extraordinary. Today, the temple remains not just a monument, but a living emblem of Bhaktapur’s identity — a blend of faith, artistry, and endurance. Whether you come to admire its architecture, learn its legends, or simply stand in its shadow, Nyatapola Temple offers an unforgettable glimpse into the soul of Nepal.

Built in the early era of Bhaktapur, this temple is the only temple in Nepal with 5-story structure. Massive presence and standing out as an architectural genius, this temple itself is an embodiment of our religion, culture and tradition. Bhaktapur, one of the most underrated places inside Kathmandu valley holds various structures like this in the area. Nyatapol Temple is one of the most iconic landmarks of Bhaktapur and a masterpiece of Newari architecture. Built in 1702 during the reign of King Bhupatindra Malla, this five-storied pagoda is Nepal’s tallest traditional temple and a symbol of strength, balance, and cultural pride. The temple stands gracefully in Taumadhi Square, drawing visitors with its majestic tiered structure and finely crafted stone guardians—legendary wrestlers, elephants, lions, griffins, and goddesses—lined along its steep staircase. Each pair of guardians represents increasing strength, adding layers of myth and meaning to the monument. Climbing up the steps offers not only a closer view of the temple’s details but also a panoramic glimpse of Bhaktapur’s ancient cityscape. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi, although the inner sanctum is generally closed to the public, preserving its sacredness. What makes Nyatapol Temple remarkable is its resilience. Despite several devastating earthquakes over centuries, the structure has stood firm, a testament to the extraordinary craftsmanship of the Malla-era builders. For travelers, Nyatapol Temple is more than a sightseeing spot—it’s an experience of history, art, and spirituality blended together. Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast, a cultural explorer, or just someone seeking a peaceful moment amid Bhaktapur’s bustling squares, this temple is a must-visit.

Jaanki temple pride of mithila. It reminds us the glory of mithila, raja janak and mata sita. My nani always wanted to visit Janki temple, so we all decided to go to Janki temple. So We hired a car and went to Janki temple. Reaching there we saw the temple, a high white colored temple in which red and green colors were also used; its grandeur was spreading in all four directions. Our day was good, so we could have darshan of mata sita very easily. The attitude of the pujari's of the temple was very good towards the devotees. The temple was quite clean. We also saw the marriage place, it was also equally grand. Everything in the entire temple was very good except one thing and that was the toilet, the toilet was arranged at a distance where a lady used to sit and before using the toilet we had to pay money, without money she would not let us go inside. Due to her we and more than us our ladies faced a lot of problems.

Janaki Mandir is a major Hindu temple in Janakpur, dedicated to Goddess Sita (also known as Janaki), the daughter of King Janaka and wife of Lord Rama. It is one of the largest and most important pilgrimage sites in Nepal. The temple celebrates the sacred love story of Goddess Sita and Lord Rama, making it one of the most spiritually uplifting places in Nepal. Its bright white façade, domes, arches, and carvings make it look like a palace—especially magical during sunrise and evening lights. Colorful Madhubani/Mithila paintings around the complex reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Maithil people.

I was late to reach Janakpur railway station. I want to travel our own train to the Jayanagar. Better next time for sure.
Ashish S — Google review
The waiting area was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating and amenities such as Wi-Fi, and clean restrooms. I also appreciated the wide range of food and beverage options available at the station's vendors, which made waiting for my train a more enjoyable experience. The station's platform was also well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy for me to board my train without any confusion or hassle. The train itself was clean and comfortable, with ample seating and air conditioning to keep passengers cool during the journey. One of the highlights of Janakpur Railway Station is its beautiful architecture, which blends traditional Nepalese design with modern construction. The station's façade is adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals, adding a touch of local culture and history to the overall experience.

Nothing much to see except some pet elephants. Maybe I was expecting too much. I travelled from dbg to Kosi tapu by bike. The ticket only for two people was 700INR or 1000 nepali rupees as we were from India. It's just 100 rupees for nepalis and it was not worth that money at all for us because the elephants out of the sanctuary and hence free as they were domesticated and kept in chains.

Situated in West Bengal, India, this mountain peak offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and Mount Everest. The trek to Sandakphu is challenging but totally worth it as it rewards you with mesmerizing sunrise and sunset views. The surrounding landscapes are stunning with snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and vibrant rhododendron forests.
Sandakphu... Top of West Bangal... 🏔 You can visit this place in two way, one is trekking... Another is by Land Rover. Sandakphu is famous for the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga family & Everest family. The perfect visibility of "Sleeping Buddha" Appears from here... If you don't visit Sandakphu, do it first... You will get a unforgettable memory... 🏔🤍

Fantastic place but the road from Tumling will be hell even in a 4x4. It's very cold (once it gets cloudy and chilly) even in October so take appropriate warm clothes. Ideal for treks. Do not mess with the yaks and the horses. The yaks might chase you thinking you have salt. Running water is a big issue here.

West Bengal s highest mountain peak but it is very crowdy. Beautiful sceneries can be seen from here . Most favourite trekking attraction is sandakhfu for trekkers. You can also come this place by landrover but trekking is more adventurous.
Debraj B — Google review
One of the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I was there in the month of February 2024. It was a bit off season and at night temperature was around -5 degree. Hotel sunrise is one of the choices for staying there. But when I stayed there , there was no electricity, so as usual there was no room heater or anything to keep us warm, so in that climate condition it was a bit difficult for all the travellers. Even glass windows were frozen inside the room. But the very next day when we saw the clear sky and the beautiful sunrise , all our exhaustion had turned into joy and happiness.you can visit the place either by hiking or by car , you can reach to Manibhanjan from NJP , from Manibhanjan you can hire a guide if you want to reach the place by trekking,it’s a 4 days trek only for sandakphu , and if you want to cover Phalut , then it’s a 5 days trek. Another option is you can take the legendary Land Rover or Mahindra Marshal kind of jeeps to reach there. If the sky is clear then you can see the most mesmerising view of Kanchanjunga range. I am sharing some photos from my gallery. Keep travelling keep knowing the u know.

Sandakphu is the highest point of the ridge and of the state of West Bengal, India. The peak is located at the edge of the Singalila National Park and has a small village on the summit with a few hotels. Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit. Must visit place in West Bengal, its beauty is beyond expectation.

One of the most difficult terrain to conquer. ROADS are almost non existence. But adventurous. If you're looking for adventure you can definitely visit this place. View of Kanchenjunga is Mesmerising and the sunrise is just wow

The last 14 km trekking from Tumling to Sandakphu is totally WORTH it!! I would suggest everyone who lives in West Bengal to atleast visit this place once in their lifetime. This place is indescribable and unbelievably BEAUTIFUL! ❤️ One of the best place I've been. Very cheap, if you know the place and people. If you want to go by car, book Land rover car from the ticket counter. It will be very cheap for you. PLEASE don't allow the "Tour Guide" book the Hotels and Cars, they will charge double. The Guide will tell you Hotels/cars are not available etc... Just to fill up their pockets. Always book cars and hotels by yourself. Don't go for so called guides (dalals). People are very nice and helpful over there.. I've been to this place two times.

As I stood at the institution in Darjeeling, the Himalayas unfolded before me like a canvas of breathtaking beauty. The snow-capped peaks, majestic and towering, seemed to defy gravity, their rugged grandeur softened by the gentle caress of mist. The mountains' serene silence was punctuated only by the sweet songs of birds and the rustle of leaves, creating a symphony that resonated deep within my soul. The Himalayas are a masterpiece of nature, crafted over millions of years by the patient hands of wind, water, and ice. As I gazed upon their majestic form, I felt the weight of their ancient history, the stories of civilizations past etched into every rock and valley. The institution, nestled in the heart of this natural wonder, seemed a haven for those seeking knowledge and adventure. The Himalayas near Darjeeling are a haven for the senses. The scent of rhododendrons and pine wafted through the air, mingling with the earthy aroma of the forest floor. The taste of local tea, rich and full-bodied, was a perfect complement to the stunning views. As I sipped my tea, I felt the stress of the world melt away, replaced by a sense of tranquility and awe. The institution's surroundings offer a wealth of opportunities for exploration and discovery. From trekking and mountaineering to birdwatching and photography, there's something for every kind of adventurer. As I watched the sun set over the Himalayas, painting the sky with hues of gold and crimson, I felt grateful to be in this enchanting location. In the evening, as the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, the Himalayas took on a mystical quality. The mountains seemed to whisper secrets to the wind, their ancient wisdom carried on the breeze. As I stood there, enveloped by the majesty of the Himalayas, I felt a deep sense of connection to the natural world. The Himalayas near Darjeeling are a treasure trove of natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure opportunities. Whether you're a nature lover, a photographer, or simply someone seeking inspiration, the Himalayas are sure to leave you spellbound. As I left the institution, I carried with me memories of the majestic Himalayas, their grandeur and beauty forever etched in my mind.

Invaluable tourist spot in Darjeeling. Great place to view the glorious attempts to climb the tallest mountain peaks in India and Nepal. We also get the opportunity to see the various gear used by the countless mountaineers in their attempts to climb them. There are also the statues of Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary. We pause there in awe as we recollect their heroic feat. The entire process of mountaineering is described in detail there. There are several magnificent photographs too.

An absolute gem for anyone interested in mountaineering, adventure, or Himalayan history. The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is not only well-maintained but also deeply inspiring. The museum section is filled with fascinating exhibits, including gear used by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary. The location is scenic, nestled near the Darjeeling Zoo, with a backdrop of the Himalayas. Great for families, students, or solo travelers. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and the entire experience is both educational and enriching. Don’t miss the mountaineering wall, training areas, and the tribute to Tenzing Norgay — it truly reflects the spirit of adventure that Darjeeling is known for. Highly recommended!

This spot offers panoramic views of Darjeeling and was designed to facilitate easy navigation around the area's terrain.
Owners are so soft-spoken and extremely extremely helpful ... They keep an sharp eye for all the comforts of the guests ... They provide few services (which few hotels charge money for) without even charging anything and even help the guests out if they are facing some problems during their stay ... They have magic in their hands as their home-cooked food with fresh ingredients are at another level which will force someone to gain 3-4kgs, can't stop drooling over their cooked meals ! 🤤The view of the toy-train passing by is the cherry 🍒 on the top 😍

Beautiful resort, with amazing decor and friendly staff. It is centrally located. There are two lifts, one from the parking lot and another from the front entrance. The resort is spacious and spread over different levels. The parking, though available, is limited. The food is good but the buffet is too expensive compared to the choice of dishes offered. Rooms are spacious, with good heating arrangement, but the wardrobe space is limited. The mobile signal of most national networks is intermittent, but the WiFi connectivity is good. The reason for the 4 star ⭐ rating is mainly the intercom. Every time you wish to dial another room, you have to go through the operator.

Beautiful resort, with amazing decor and exceptional hospitality. All aminities available, centrally located. My only concern was with the food. I generally avoid buffets as food in buffet is most of the times average and also you tend to overeat. I stayed there for 4 nights and opted for the alacarte dining. Choice of items is limited, more over the preparation/ taste of food is very very average, rather below average for the dishes I had ordered......absolutely not expected from a star rated property. Will I stay there again - Yes Will i dine there - No

My 2-year old son, wife and I stayed in there for 3 nights and here is my honest experience. Please note we stayed in Lloyd's cottage so the room related details are specific to the room. Rest of it is generic Hotel itself is excellent - huge and spread out hotel with a colonial heritage. impeccably maintained. Service - The BEST part. We had been quite demanding, keeping in mind we had an infant with us. Every request was kept with a smile. Amenities - Cannot imagine needing anything else from a hotel. They provided slippers, bathrobe, even umbrellas, there was a playroom for children as well. Food - the breakfast spread was excellent. The Ala carte menu was decent. Location - Not exactly on the mall but just a 10 min walk in a quieter neighbourhood. Possibly less so for fitter people. Room and view - very decently sized room. We had a balcony with a valley view. Overall we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Our heartfelt thanks to each employee.

Truly Peaceful: Kanchenjunga Views & Japanese Culture The Darjeeling Peace Pagoda is a must-visit for total peace and incredible mountain views. The natural setting is beautiful, filled with lush trees and the sound of birds chirping, making it instantly calming. On a clear day, the view is spectacular—you get a clear, majestic shot of the Himalayas, especially the iconic Kanchenjunga. The Pagoda itself is an important symbol of Buddhism and global harmony. It was built by the revered founder, Nichidatsu Fujii Guruji, and its simple, elegant design beautifully showcases Japanese culture and architecture. It's a wonderful, pristine spot for quiet reflection. Highly, highly recommended!

A calm and spiritually refreshing place with stunning views of the Darjeeling hills. The Japanese Temple exudes serenity, and the rhythmic chanting of the monks creates a deeply peaceful atmosphere. The adjoining Peace Pagoda, with its gleaming white structure and golden Buddha panels, is beautifully maintained and photogenic. A short walk connects both sites, making it a fulfilling visit. However, parking can be quite congested, especially during peak hours, so it’s better to come early or hire a local cab. A must-visit spot to experience peace, architecture, and panoramic views of Darjeeling in one frame.

Nice place. Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda are in same place. Peace Pagoda is more beautiful. And most beautiful thing is the scenic beauty of nature. And if weather is fine then you can get to see the Royal Crown of Himalaya The Majestic Kanchenjunga mountain.

Tiger Hill, situated 2590 meters above sea level and 13 kilometers from Darjeeling, is renowned for its breathtaking sunrise views. It offers a spectacular sight of the sun illuminating the peaks of Kanchenjunga before it appears at lower altitudes. This hill is also the summit of Ghoom, the highest railway station on the Darjeeling Himalayan Train route, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Dear folks I'm reviewing Most beautiful place in Darjeeling. The Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill Sunrise Point is truly a must-visit when in Darjeeling! Located about a 30–40 minute drive from the main city, it’s famous for offering a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range. Ideally, you should plan your visit between 3:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. to catch the magical first rays lighting up the snow-clad peaks. However, do keep in mind that the weather in Darjeeling can be very unpredictable. If clouds are too dense, the majestic Himalayan view might hide itself away! The spot is peaceful and fills you with a deep sense of calm and wonder. With the cool winds blowing. whether you make it for sunrise or visit later in the day, Tiger Hill is absolutely worth every moment — a truly unforgettable experience. Must recommended place in Darjeeling
Dhaara S — Google review
Check for the clouds at around 3am before heading here to get an idea whether you can see the mountains especially the Kanchanjunga. The vehicle management needs to improve. The entire tourist population of Darjeeling will be here with atleast 300 cars on a weekday and more on the weekends. So be ready to walk a bit because your driver will prefer keeping the car at the far end to ease the departure. No official observatory here when I went in the month of October 2025. You'll have some local vendors who serve maggie and momo as well. So enjoy this place and be hopeful that the weather gods bless you

At Tiger Hill before the dawn, The world is quiet, still, and calm. Then slowly, light begins to rise— A golden whisper in the skies. Kangchenjunga wakes in glow, Blushing pink with morning’s show. The Sleeping Buddha shines in gold, A sight that never can grow old. Clouds drift soft, the air is chill, Magic lingers on the hill. In that moment, pure and true— The mountains feel like they’re blessing you. A sunrise framed in heaven’s hue—

The Hong Kong Market in Siliguri is a bustling and well-established market offering a wide range of products such as clothing, electronics, cosmetics, and food. It is renowned for its affordable foreign goods and international branded items including apparel, bags, beauty products, footwear, lingerie, watches, and electronic gadgets. This market franchise has gained popularity in West Bengal and Assam for its diverse offerings at reasonable prices.
1. A lot many thing one can shop here. 2. The place is surprisingly clean and well maintained (except the public toilet -which is pay and use, but is filthy) 3. People are kind. (I noticed that whenever they give you anything, they do it with both hands, and i think it looks courteous 😊).
Kakai K — Google review
If you're in Siliguri and love street shopping, Hong Kong Market is a must-visit! From affordable makeup, clothes, and gadgets to imported items from China and Nepal, this bustling market has it all. We picked up some fragrant Darjeeling tea from Hindustan Tea Shop and enjoyed delicious street food along the way. The narrow lanes are packed with colorful shops, and bargaining is definitely part of the fun. It's the perfect place to soak in the city's vibrant vibe and grab some great deals!

"A Bargain Hunter’s Delight in the Heart of Siliguri". Huge variety of imported and local goods at highly competitive prices, the market's lively atmosphere, with colorful stalls and animated vendors, adds to its charm. Quality varies especially for electronics, bargaining required or else overpaying is common if you're not cautious
Abhisek S — Google review
Welcome to the iconic Hong Kong Market - Siliguri’s answer to every shopaholic’s wildest dreams — and every husband’s worst nightmare. This iconic bazaar isn’t just a market; it’s a high-octane shopping safari, with bargaining as the official language and “fixed price” a fictional concept. Tucked in the heart of Siliguri, this place is as chaotic and colorful as a Holi party on roller skates. It’s famous (read: borderline notorious) for selling everything from branded lookalikes to genuinely unbranded originals, all imported — well, allegedly — from Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, and of course… Hong Kong (wink wink). What’s in the Bag? - Electronics that may or may not live beyond their warranty-free existence. Earphones, trimmers, speakers — you name it, they’ve got five versions of it in five different spellings. - Fashion items that are 99% style, 1% stitching. From ‘Gucci’ belts to ‘Adidas’ sneakers, the market offers you the global experience, minus the guilt-inducing price tags. - Bags, toys, perfumes, watches, and clothes for the whole family — including that one cousin who only shops in street markets but flexes like a Milan runway model. Trivia That Tingles Your Brain - The market came up in the late 1990s, riding the wave of cross-border trade from Nepal, Bhutan, and China. - It’s named "Hong Kong Market" not because of any direct tie to Hong Kong, but because "Import Market" didn’t quite have the same ring to it. - It’s a hotspot for tourists from Bhutan and the Northeast, who treat it like their own mini Dubai Shopping Festival — minus the camel rides. Real Talk If you want to test your negotiation skills, empty your pockets joyfully, and return home with 6 bags of "branded" joy for the price of one coffee at Starbucks, then my friend, this is your Disneyland. Just don’t come with a full wallet or a weak resolve. You’ll either return with a suitcase or a story. Or both. Mood: Bargain-hunting Beast Mode!
Rajdeep D — Google review
A typical market offering all the essentials—bags, shoes, clothes, accessories, and umbrellas—alongside some tourist-friendly items like souvenirs, magnets, and more. However, the variety is quite limited, with most shops selling similar products. Despite mentions of bargaining in several reviews, we found that prices were largely fixed, with little room for negotiation. Visited on a Saturday, the market was fairly crowded, and shops began closing around 7:30 PM. Additionally, there are several smaller markets around its various entrances, adding to the shopping experience.
Seema P — Google review
This market is mainly known for the chinese imports. But you can get almost everything here from clothes to shoes, from household items to decoratives, and many more. This is a big market where there are a lot of options to do. It offers a variety of items at potentially lower prices than other markets, but be ready for bargaining.
Ritesh K — Google review
If you are from Kolkata, Then Chandni market is far far better. I am Talking about electronics shopping. There is almost nothing electronic in hong kong market, forget the "Imported goods" thing. Sure you get a lot of varities in clothing. But hong kong market has only clothing and wearable accessories to provide. Or Either I didn't find the place I was supposed to.

ISKCON Siliguri feels calm the moment you walk in — peaceful, clean, and full of positive energy. The chants and music make you forget all stress. It’s one of those places where your mind just slows down and feels light.

Overall hygiene is an issue... A section of the main temple was stinking. Couldn't do the pradakshina from outside. They charge money for everything :-( but the money collected doesn't seem to be utilised in the temple... There's stay option also available for those visiting from outside city. The Non Air Conditioned rooms are are very basic and don't expect any service being a Dharamshala but what one can expect is basic amenities like functioning toilet. The western toilet doesn't have a toilet seat! The bathroom is full of stench and toxic smell. It seems their fault lies in the construction itself. Mosquitoes are a big nuisance... I have visited other ISKCON Temples too but this one is in a pitiful state... There's a Goshala, Narasimha Temple, Shiv Temple, Giftshop. The resturant food quality & service needs to improve drastically. Hoping things improve with time. HARE KRISHNA 🙏

Hare Krishna! Hare Rama! One of the most serene and holy places in Siliguri. It's best to visit in the evening, as the marble flooring can get quite hot during the day. Come, sing bhajans, and enjoy the company of Krishna devotees."

I visited on 20/2/25 What a marvelous and divine place the Siliguri ISKCON temple is! The moment you step inside, you feel a wave of peace and devotion surrounding you. Standing in front of Shri Krishna, your heart naturally feels submissive, full of love and surrender 🙏🏻. The best part is, there’s no need to buy any kind of tickets – it’s completely free and open for everyone to experience the divine energy. Truly a place to feel spiritual bliss. ISKCON Siliguri is open from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM and then again from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Some sources list the general hours as 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The morning session runs from 4:30 AM until 1:00 PM, and the evening session starts around 4:00 PM and closes at 8:30 PM. The four rules, or regulative principles, of ISKCON are: no meat-eating, no gambling, no intoxication, and no illicit sex. Its a very beautiful Temple, you will definitely feel the calmness and experience the beauty of spirituality in Siliguri ISKCON Temple. Great spacious ISKCON temple. The ambience inside the main temple is captivating with great artistic expressions on the walls and don't forget to look up and see the drawings on the ceiling. Great story telling. The chanting has a Bengali accent but that's the beauty of this ISKCON temple. You would have options to buy souvenirs for family and friends. Visited during the evening Aarathi, which was a nice experience. Spacious temple with good parking space. Served by Ola cabs too. Good photo spot also. Many deities in small temples inside as well. Crowds are unpredictable.

The temple, dedicated to Sri Sri Radha Madhav, offers a divine atmosphere where visitors immediately feel connected to the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. The architecture is graceful, with intricate carvings and bright colors that symbolize the joyous mood of Vrindavan. As you enter, the melodious kirtans of Hare Krishna Mahamantra fill the air, creating a deeply calming experience. The beautifully decorated deities of Radha and Krishna are the heart of the temple, their divine forms adorned with colorful garments and fresh flowers. The darshan feels enchanting, reminding devotees of the pure love and eternal bond between Radha and Krishna. The temple also conducts daily aartis, Bhagavad Gita discourses, and prasadam distribution, which nurture both the soul and body. Festivals like Janmashtami and Radhastami are celebrated with immense devotion, drawing devotees from across Bengal and neighboring states. Overall, ISKCON Siliguri is not just a temple but a spiritual retreat where one can experience the bliss of devotion, the sweetness of Radha-Krishna’s leelas, and the welcoming warmth of the Vaishnava community.
