Clear, calm waters & sweeping coastal views are among the highlights at this quaint beach.
Wonderful small bay with sunloungers and a reastaurant renowned for fresh fish. Rocky cover area great for snorkelling. St Pauls Bay shaped like a heart with many people falling in love (and marrying) here. It offers luxury sunbeds and fine dining options.
Ege A — Google review
Beautiful when seen from afar, not a good place to be at all. Water is almost muddy from all the SPF, lots of rocks, no free zones, everything is occupied and overcrowded. Not sure how this place is promoted as one of the best in Rhodos
Marin K — Google review
The bay is beautiful and worth a visit, but here are a few points to keep in mind so you can make the most of your time here: the sun beds are very expensive, up to 5x more than in other beaches around the island. You can, however, avoid them if you bring your own beach towel, but then you should arrive no later than 11:00 (in July/August make it 10:30), as the beach itself is very narrow and mostly taken by the expensive sun beds, so finding a spot might be tricky. Even though the bay is beautiful, for snorkeling you will find it is not as clear as other beaches around the island. The bay can be accessed by boat, car or public transport, and there is a paid parking facility in the premises.
Ana A — Google review
Amazing and historical beach. Arrive early to be able to get access to the sun lounges as it is a small beach with a limited number. The water is beautiful and the view is stunning.
Pedro F — Google review
Nice for a bath or drink. The water is not so clean and the sunbeds cost 60-100eur.
Adrian S — Google review
Really nice place, it's quite expensive but a real treat with comfy sun loungers and drink service to you lounger... They also drive you on a golf buggy across to Lindos
Lee D — Google review
Amazing beach with the best food view and pricess
Patricia O — Google review
There is a 60+ EUR fee for sunbeds. Yes it might be too much when you think you usually pay nothing or less across other Greek islands/beaches but it’s definitely worth it. And when you think about it, it’s not even too much. The staff is friendly (like always) and you get good service (like always).

Lindos Acropolis

Mentioned on
+157 other lists
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Lindos Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a steep cliff with stunning sea views. It offers a glimpse into prehistoric sites such as the nearby Acropolis of Lindos and Rhodes, along with ancient Minoan artifacts dating back over 3,000 years. Nature lovers can explore the Valley of Butterflies and enjoy miles of sunny beaches.
Lindos Acropolis is a must-visit when on Rhodes. The combination of ancient ruins, dramatic cliffs and panoramic sea views is unforgettable. Tickets are 20 euros per adult and it's smart to buy them in advance to skip the line, we waited around 15 minutes. Along the way there are QR codes you can scan to buy tickets online, but if you're already close to the entrance, it might be quicker to just wait in line. The path up is steep and not secured with handrails, so be careful, especially with kids. Wear good shoes and bring a hat or cap, as it gets very hot during the day. Once at the top, you're rewarded with stunning views over Lindos Bay and the white town below. The site has some restored areas and informational signs. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds and the heat. A mix of history, nature and views that truly makes it one of the island’s highlights. Worth every step.
Miodrag J — Google review
The view and scenery were simply stunning!🤩the only complain comes from the route to the temple, it is quite difficult as the terrain was hard to walk and no safety rails whatsoever exists, lots of other people going. Anyway, I'd recommend this as one-time visit if above points are not blockers👍🏼tickets 20€/person at the gates
YArIk Y — Google review
The Acropolis itself is impressive and fascinating to explore, but for me the real highlight was the breathtaking view of the surroundings - the beaches, Lindos, and the mountains. From the top, the scenery is absolutely spectacular. We arrived right at 8:00 in the morning and were able to enjoy the site before it became crowded with other visitors. The walk up to the Acropolis is also very pleasant, offering beautiful side views of Lindos along the way. Tickets cost €20 per person, which may feel a little overpriced, but I would still highly recommend the experience - it’s definitely worth it.
Ajdin M — Google review
Beautiful place with stunning views over Lindos and the sea, definitely worth visiting! However, the €20 entrance fee felt a bit high, especially since there was no guide or detailed information to explain what you see. Even at the end of the season it was very crowded, with a long wait at the ticket office. Keep in mind there’s a steep walk with many steps, so bring water and good shoes. Best to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat and the crowds.
Chara T — Google review
We visited in low season (end of October) and the wait was under 10 mins. This is an incredible archeological site in a beautiful location. Watch your step as we saw a couple of people slip and trip (they do warn you to take care). Well worth the visit. Fresh orange juice available in the cafe with a wonderful view.
Jo C — Google review
Looming over the town of Lindos, this historic fortified citadel holds several ancient structures, including the Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, The Castle of the Knights of St John, and an amphitheater. The acropolis offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the town below. Donkey rides are a traditional mode of transport here and remain a popular way of climbing the village's steep hills. On the way up, you'll pass by white-washed houses, quaint shops, and restaurants offering traditional Greek fare. Lindos is a 30-mile bus ride from Rhodes Town, and you'll need to purchase a ticket to enter the acropolis. The Acropolis of Lindos is a breathtaking historical site with stunning views, although many reviews highlight the steep climb and narrow paths. Visitors frequently mention the high entry fee and crowds, which can detract from the experience, especially during the midday heat. It's best to visit early or late in the day to avoid these issues. While the site is popular among history buffs and photographers, reviewers advise caution for families with young children and those with mobility challenges.
Keith D — Google review
What an absolutely gorgeous place. Please do not let the €20 entrance and walk up the stairs deter you from coming. This is a very well preserved and gorgeous historical site. Yes the Greek heat and the climb will tire you out but it is absolutely worth the views and the feel of history. Plus you can always get a beer on the way down there are plenty of places available in the town :)
Aarush A — Google review
Enjoyable morning visiting the Lindos Acropolis. Very busy walking up the hill, through the town and the pebble paths can be slippy in places but its worth the walk. There is a much quieter and less steep path for a pretty walk back down with good views of the harbour and back up at the Acropolis.

Lindos Beach

Lindos Beach is a popular destination located in a cove with a long stretch of sandy shoreline, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and boating. It competes for attention with the ancient Acropolis of Lindos standing above it and the charming whitewashed houses cascading down the hillside. The beach offers fluffy yellow sand and clear waters ideal for families due to its shallow depth. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as bathrooms, showers, changing facilities, and sun loungers.
This sandy gem tucked in a small bay offers stunning views—especially with the ancient Acropolis towering above. The scenery is pure magic! For just €20, you get two sunbeds and a parasol (a fair price for the location). Clean showers are conveniently placed around the bay, and there’s no shortage of great restaurants and shops nearby for snacks or full meals. Ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or just soaking up the dreamy Greek vibes. A must-visit in Rhodes! ⭐️
Oussama T — Google review
Overcrowded, no free zone, expensive umbrellas, tons of boats everywhere. Actually clean water if you never go out of it. Would not return. Probably better to visit by boat so you don't go near the beach. Sad thing is I'd rate it 5* if I came off season, probably.
Marin K — Google review
We enjoyed very much this beach due to its calm water, nice sand, almost no waves and because it was close to facilities. The parking if you are lucky, is just on the edge of the beach. Be careful, you must park in the blue zone, and to pay 7€/day. But be there early because the parking is limited
Andrei B — Google review
Pallas beach across the little bay is a hard act to follow, but the Town Beach has really upped the ante since my last visit. There are 2 roads down to the beach. The first takes you straight to the beach next to 2 tavernas. The 2nd road is longer but not as steep and ends at a pretty little village area on the beach. There are now plenty of places to eat ( all friendly), sunbeds and toilets. I spotted 3 showers and changing cubicles. The water is clear with a very gradual drop off, very safe. There's also a lifeguard tower now. The sunbeds are €20 to €30 for 2. If you eat at the wedding venue taverna the beds are free. There are also electric cart taxis to get you there and back. Great day out.
Ivy M — Google review
Great place to swim. Sand lovers will really like it. Free parking and free use of the beach. Highly recommend you guys to check this beautiful place out.
Efekan K — Google review
Tucked away at the base of Lindos township is Pallas beach. Quite nice - with 2 access roads, although a little steep. Lots of cafes etc to be found nearby, plus sunbeds and toilets available.
Norm P — Google review
Lindos, the place where, from a distance, everything looks perfect. Up close… not quite the same story. Let’s take them one by one. 1. The village. From afar, it looks peaceful, authentic, almost like a postcard from “the good old Greece.” Step inside, though, and the postcard turns into a bazaar: narrow streets crammed with stalls and souvenir shops (most of them peddling glittery plastic “treasures” at luxury-boutique prices). Add in the endless flow of tourists and you get more chaos than charm. As for the taverns? Well, they’re packed to the brim and the prices are way above the prices charged in Rhodes town, for example. 2. The medieval castle and acropolis ruins. From below, the sight is trully breathtaking. But after queuing for hours, the magic evaporates fast. Inside, the “restorations” look like the backdrop of a student film project with a very, very limited budget. 3. St. Paul’s Beach (Paralia Agios Pavlos). Famous, photogenic, social-media-perfect… if you only look at it from above. On the ground, though, it’s a different picture: a tiny strip of sand where every square centimeter is claimed, boats that stir up mud right next to swimmers, and exorbitant prices for the sunbeds (starting from 50-60 euro and reaching well over 100 euro). 4. The main beach of Lindos (split into Lindos Beach and Pallas Beach). Again, from the fortress, the bay looks like a scene painted by an impressionist artist: calm water, boats gliding in and out. But go down and reality paints in darker colors: murky water, noise everywhere, bodies crammed together like sardines, and, yes, the ever-present overpriced sunbeds. 5. And, even if we had accepted all of the above, the sight of dozens of exhausted, thirsty donkeys and mules forced to carry tourists under a blazing 40-degree sun was more than enough to ruin the entire experience.
Catalin H — Google review
Really nice beaches I would advise to hire a boat out for 2 to 3 hours More of a discount if you take it out more hours give you an opportunity to enjoy some snorkelling around different bases my experience this is better than actually going on a tour packed boat with other people . Plus the kids get to build their confidence jumping in and out of the sea and also experiencing driving about.

Kritinia Castle

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Historical landmark
Perched on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea, Kritinia Castle, also known as Kastello to locals, is a historic Venetian/Byzantine castle dating back to 1472. Although now in ruins, the castle still showcases its former grandeur. Visitors can reach the site by taking a bus to Kritinia and walking or driving up the dirt track.
Rather remote, but beautiful little ruin of a castle that must have been very impressive in the past. From the top of the ruin you have an impressive view into the bay and the small islands in the vicinity. On a clear day you can see the coastline of Turkey in the distance. In the public section there is no roof structure left, so in the very unlikely event of rainfall you would not have any meaningful cover. Great that this precious spot is free of charge.
MC B — Google review
While driving around the island, we noticed signs pointing to the castle ruins and decided to make a spontaneous detour. The road leading up to the site is mostly tarmac and fairly accessible, with just a few short but steep sections near the top. Our small rental car managed it with no issues. There’s a free car park right by the castle that can hold around 15 cars, which was a nice bonus. Entry to the ruins is also free, accessed via a set of built steps. Just a note – not suitable for a wheelchair access, unfortunately. Once you reach the top, the views are absolutely breathtaking and make the short trek well worth it. We also noticed a small café nearby, but we didn’t stop in so can’t comment on the food or service. Overall, it’s a great little stop if you’re exploring the island – highly recommended if you’ve got an hour to spare and fancy a bita bit of history paired with stunning scenery.
Mon D — Google review
The castle is a ruin. It offers beautiful views and even though it was a long drive from my hotel we made it into a day trip and saw other things on the way. There is plenty of space for parking very close to the castle, a small cafe at the bottom of the hill, quite easily accessible, probably not for wheelchair or a pram. Half an hour was enough for this attraction.
B K — Google review
We stumbled across this place by chance but we loved it. There are two car parks and a small café for a quick refreshment after the walk back down! Gorgeous views, just make sure you're wearing proper shoes
Rebeca — Google review
Amazing place. I really like someone make it good enough for tourist .Amazing views. Free access.Parking available. There are two ways to go to the castle. Stairs available. Worth to go.
Kla F — Google review
Magnificent castle on a hill with stunning views of the sea. You can visit it for free. It is worth wearing proper shoes, as the castle ruins are a bit difficult to walk through.
Joonas T — Google review
This place was amazing. Probably my favourite place on the entire island, especially going for sunset. I had the entire place to myself (until the very end when someone else came for sunet too), and the place is just peaceful. It appears there used to be a cost for the castle, as there's an abandoned ticket booth at the gate, but it's free entry. The place is in ruins, but it's still worth the visit.
Adam O — Google review
The castle in comparison to others available on the island is quite small however with only a small incline to the top it is well worth the trip as the views are incomparable on a clear day being able to see Sami in the distance is also a welcome treat. A moderate amount of parking is available a A refreshment bar for drinks and such is also available. I hadn’t noticed any toilets.

Archaeological Site of Kamiros

Sights & Landmarks
The Archaeological Site of Kamiros is a must-visit for those interested in ancient history. It was one of the three city-states of ancient Rhodes and boasts impressively preserved ruins dating back to the 3rd century B.C. The site offers stunning views of Rhodes' west coast from the Acropolis at the top of the hill. Visitors can explore the expansive area with informative boards strategically placed throughout, providing insights into daily life in Hellenistic houses and temples.
Really incredible experience. Worth the drive. It's extremely well preserved & I enjoyed the descriptive signboards. Only downside is that the toilets could be cleaned & better maintained for the price of €10.
Vicki F — Google review
Kameiros was one of the major cities of the island, the other two being Lindos and Ialyssos, and all of three being of Dorian (a major ancient Greek tribe) origin, whose coalition built the city of Rhodes in the late 5th century BC, a polis that evolved into a major regional player in the ancient world. Though the building of Rhodes naturally shifted much of the interest of the local population there, the city of Kameiros remained in use for approximately another millenia. Its disuse after that and its distance from urban centers that evolved significantly in the following ages left it considerably well preserved. The outline of the city and most of its buildings is quite discernable. Thus, though not even nearly as spectacular as Lindos, it is well worth a visit. The ascent is much less tiresome, the ruins are impressive, and the view is wonderful.
George S — Google review
Even after a thousand years, you'll find fascinating remains of a sophisticated culture here. This place is huge, with many spots to explore. It's truly breathtaking what the people of Rhodes were able to accomplish so many years ago. The entrance fee was €10, but considering what you'll see, it's reasonable. Parking was free.
František T — Google review
Site was nearly empty 2 hours before closing, it has a bit of an incline but easily walkable and plenty of signs around to explain what parts of the city you’re looking at. Convenient free parking lot on site available. There is toilets and a little cafe on site as well.
Cathy M — Google review
One of the best sites I’ve ever been. And I’ve been to many, because I’m an ancient historian. ;) Love how you could see the layout of the town and how the cisterns worked back in the day. The view is stunning. Must see when you’re in Rhodes. Very friendly people who work there as well.
Robert V — Google review
Cool ancient place with lovely cafe! The entrance cost 10€ per adult, kids and students free entry.
Adrian S — Google review
First disappointment is when the online price shows 6euro, but the at the cashiers its now 10 euro. While its an important site I'm not sure there's enought added value for the new fee. Little more remains than ruins of lower walls of buildings. its an impressive location with ocean view and the complex gives a good overall idea of the spread of the ancient village. I would have expected a small museum that demonstrated in 3D what the structures looked like and any of the decorative element. If you've seen the major sites and have extra time, you could come here and spend half an hour walking around.
Tezza J — Google review
Perfect archeological site with a walk around the entire excavation, focus is on the site and nothing else - just as it should be. Small café and plenty of parking onsite although it was very quiet late September.

Bloom Waterpark Watersports Rhodes is a top destination, boasting the title of one of Europe's largest waterparks. It offers an array of attractions such as slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers suitable for all ages. Safety is a priority with lifeguards stationed at each feature and dedicated areas for younger children. Visitors can also enjoy various water sports like jet-skiing with friendly staff and reasonable prices.
We had such a fun day at the water park on Agathi Beach in Rhodes! It’s the perfect spot for families, kids, and even adults who want to feel like kids again. The inflatable structures were super fun, safe, and well-maintained – we laughed non-stop jumping, climbing, and sliding into the sea. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making sure everyone was safe while having a great time. The beach itself is beautiful with shallow, clear waters – ideal for kids to play safely. Highly recommended for a day full of fun, laughs, and unforgettable memories with family or friends!
Stellitsa D — Google review
Great water park! Better than the smaller one down the beach. Only complaint is that the slides needed to be kept wet for easy, fast sliding without chafing. Non-participating family members can enjoy a lovely cocktail on a lounger nearby or go to the restaurant. We spent most of the day at this beach.
Jodi N — Google review
Very nice. 10 euros for an hour is a good price. An hour is a long time 🙂. The kids loved it, and it's on a beautiful sandy beach. No stones. And even our youngest, 5 years old, got to go on it.

A Snorkeling Paradise! 🌊🐠 Breathtaking scenery meets unforgettable underwater adventures at this iconic bay. The snorkeling is hands-down the best—vibrant fish dart around you in crystal-clear, calm waters, perfect for beginners and pros alike. Safe, serene, and straight out of a postcard, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a swim in nature’s aquarium. Pure magic! 🤿💙

Extraordinarily picturesque beach! A few restaurants there and a small free zone. There are less big rocks in the water on the left side. The bid ones on the right side make it sometimes hard to walk in the water. Great depth, making it suitable for snorkelling. Crystal clear water and clean beach.
Monica M — Google review
Paradise.. nothing less can be said for this dreamy hidden gem in the bay. We took the hiking trail from Faliraki to the bay. The view was breathtaking, the trail - kind of challenging, at times very narrow. Still saw many ppl were coming from there. The water was crystal, the rocks in the sea created so beautiful sceneries. The place is not very big, but sunbeds and umbrellas were placed all over it. However, you will get one if you go there earlier (we went there around 9 and there were plenty, by 10:30-11 most were taken). The cost is 30 euro for 2x sunbeds + umbrella, and I think 15 euro for 1x sunbed. There are a lot of rocks to the back of the beach and so many people were laying on them.
Rositsa K — Google review
What a clear sea, it’s amazing, here is in the my top 3 beach. Only negative side is very expensive sunbed. 2 bed & 1 umbrella is 30 €, but it’s not including anything. You can bring drink and food if you like, otherwise there is a chill restaurant. We came around 9 am, we picked up last beds, so need to come early. Don’t afraid to be late, there is many place to lay down with towel.
Umut M — Google review
Not a beach, just some paid 30€ umbrellas on the rocks where you'll have a hard time getting in the water. Which is dirty, overcrowded and really of no use. Time to time boats unload people making it even worse, but they're probably having a better time than people on land. Ladiko is one * better but still bad. These places are probably great off season when the money-making machine is gone. In high season they're only good to look at from afar. Water seems clean but on the rocks there's all kind of trash.

Apollo Beach Hotel is a laid-back accommodation with a buffet restaurant and two bars, as well as an outdoor pool and tennis facilities. Situated on an enchanting beach surrounded by lush greenery, the hotel's two buildings are located on the east side of the island, just 400 meters from Faliraki village. It offers easy access to Afandou Golf Course and the town of Rhodes via public transportation. The rooms are spacious and clean, although some guests found the furniture slightly outdated.
The hotel is located on the beach, about 20 minutes drive from the airport, which is handy. It has plenty of space for everyone, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and a lot of sunbeds. We were given a free room upgrade, so our holiday began on a good note. The food was delicious: breakfast, lunch and dinner; the service was first class, especially the very chatty lady from the outside pool bar. I do recommend to anyone who willing to have a great holiday, peace of mind and good vibes. There is a lot to discover within an hour walk around the hotel, or if you fancy a drive, the whole island offers a lot to see.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the first week of April, right at the beginning of the season. The staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was very clean, including the rooms, which were cozy and well-maintained. Each room had a kettle, mugs, tea and coffee, a small (empty) fridge, and a hairdryer. We stayed on a half-board basis. The food was varied and tasty, with plenty of options. Just a note: at dinner, only tap water is complimentary — all other drinks are for an extra charge. When we arrived, the hotel was still quite empty, but within a few days it began to fill up. Shops and beaches in the area were just starting to open and prepare for the season. Big plus is the ample parking space, most of it covered, which is a great advantage during the hot summer months. Highly recommended for a relaxing and comfortable stay!

The hotel offers a very comfortable and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. While the guest crowd tends to be a bit older, the overall vibe is calm and welcoming. What really stands out is the fantastic staff – always friendly, helpful, and professional. The food was also a highlight: fresh, varied, and delicious. If you're looking for a quiet place with great service and food, this hotel is a solid choice.

Stayed for 5 nights with only breakfast included. Every worker there is a 10/10 person, everyone is so friendly and lovely, from the reception people to the housekeepers. We even got a complimentary dinner from the hotel. The beachfront area is amazing, with it's green grass it feels so cool and not hot as if you were in the sand. The location is also great <5 mins from the center, has its own driveway so the hotel is not located on the street, which makes it quiet.

Our stay at Apollo Beach Hotel was truly wonderful. The rooms were nice and always kept clean, quiet enough for a relaxing holiday, and very close to the beach. The food was varied, the staff friendly, and the outdoor pool was both beautiful and spotless. Drinks at the bar were decent, and the atmosphere, especially in the evenings, was really enjoyable. I would also like to highlight someone in particular – a young lady from the Netherlands who worked with the little children during the day and also hosted the mini disco in the evenings. She is an extraordinary person: very patient, kind, and warm with the kids. I was traveling with my 2-year-old daughter who, at times, made a bit of a mess and threw toys around, yet this young lady was so sweet with her, played with her, and really entered her world. With us adults, she was also very friendly, sociable, and easy to talk to, which made us feel even more welcomed and comfortable during our stay.

Very cozy hotel, has everything you need! I really liked that the sunbeds are located on the grass, it's really convenient. Large pool, near which there are always free places. Sunset in the sea is wonderful, clean water. Special thanks to the restaurant manager Katerina for her warm approach and professionalism! Also a great animation team, almost every day there is petanque and darts. Thank you, we really liked it!

Had a lovely vacation at Apollo Beach hotel. The location is perfect, close to Faliraki where are many shops and restaurants and right on the shore of sandy beach. The rooms all have seaview or partial seaview. There are plenty of sunbeds, so you don’t have to stress about it. They also give you towels for the beach which is nice. There is also indoor pool which is nice when you don’t feel like going out to the sun. The only issue is that the indoor pool is 1.8m deep, so not suitable for people who cannot swim well. They do have a lifeguard there keeping and eye on the swimmers. It would be nice if there were swim aids available for children using the pool. The room was spacious and clean. With double doors it was relatively quiet and the noise from the hallway was not so loud. All the staff we met were very nice and friendly, specially the ones in the snack bar:) The food was good and was plenty to choose from. Beef at the dinner was really good:) It would be nice if free water in the carafe would be offered for half-board guests during dinner. Overall I’m very satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to anyone:)

We had the pleasure of staying at Apollo Beach for 9 nights in August. Brilliant staff, everyone was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Great location, right on the beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Good size rooms with amazing views and daily housekeeping. Food was lovely and always had a varied menu with Veg and Non-Veg options to cater for all. A special mention to Kyriaki (Reception) and Anxhela (Restaurant), you were both amazing and made our stay special! Highly recommended, great job Management & Staff.

Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael Panormitis

The Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael Panormitis is a stunning and historic site dedicated to Archangel Michael. Rebuilt in 1783, this monastery features elaborate frescoes and intricate woodwork that leave visitors in awe. Accessible by ferry from Rhodes harbor, a visit to the monastery includes a stop at Symi Island where you can explore the town and enjoy breathtaking views.
Nice and peaceful monastery but if you're missing it or won't be able to visit - you're not missing all that much. There is almost nothing else here. If you have more time on Symi town, you can get a bus, it's 30 minutes away, but not sure how worth unless you're a believer and want to pay respects to the holy icon. There is a small and interesting museum in the back, entrance fee was 1.5 euro. I was impressed by the candle lights behind the church also. Not as touristy as you'd expect given the amount of people entering the place. There is usually a line for buying candles, not for entering the church. 3-40 minutes for everything.
Marin K — Google review
The chapel or monastery was cool. There were two small museums that together cost 1.5 euros to enter. It seemed that not many opted to enter the museums when we were there. The museums were a bit underwhelming but I'm still glad to have seen it.
MB — Google review
We visited the monastery as part of a boat trip to the island. It was a short stop, but very beautiful and peaceful. An added bonus of being able to watch sea turtles made it all the more worthwhile.

A must see if you're traveling to Symi. Easy to reach in every vehicle(seen a lot of bikers on the way)via a very good asphalted road that offers you the opportunity to take some pitoresque photos.

Sacred monastery where we celebrated a millstone birthday for my father in law. Sure, it was 100 degrees that day and we were staying on the other side of the island, but we made the pilgrimage to give thanks and again acknowledge that everything we have is gifted from and for the glory of God! Good bus trip from Symi port, book through Dodekanisos ferry from Rhodes town. 20 minutes each way and you have 1hr to visit which was enough to walk around and have a drink the cafe next door.
Tim E — Google review
Very quiet area, church looks simple on the outside but deceptive, it’s incredible inside, the most detailed church I’ve seen in Greece, literally everything was detailed, little cafe available nearby and a bakery where they make delicious goods. This was included on a symi island tour and I thought it was worth it

The Medieval Villa is a 5-star hotel in the city of Rhodes, which was founded in the 4th century BC by the Mytileneans. It is one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel features spacious rooms with traditional architecture and an outdoor pool overlooking the city.
This was the absolute best place I've ever stayed at. We were a party of 8 and spent three nights in Rhodes. The island is really amazing, but it was the villa that made our time there truly special. We were not missing anything! Every small thing a guest could need was available in the villa. Superb location and such a special atmosphere in the dining room. Love. This. Place.

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled at the pinnacle of the historic Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes stands as a magnificent testament to medieval architecture and history. Originally constructed by the Knights Hospitaller in the early 14th century, this imposing fortress was built atop an earlier Byzantine stronghold from the 7th century. Once serving as both a grand residence and administrative hub for these valiant knights, it has witnessed centuries of change.
Tickets are 20 EUR, but honestly, it’s worth it, the palace is stunning, with beautifully preserved halls, mosaics and a real sense of history. The inner courtyard is impressive, and walking through the massive stone corridors feels like stepping back in time. Try to visit early in the day to avoid crowds and the heat. It’s one of the must-see landmarks in Rhodes Old Town.
Miodrag J — Google review
This place is so neat! Tickets are 20Euro or about $23 USD. Get there as early as you can, it gets crowded fast. Amazing restored rooms and furniture and so much to learn and see. It is an impressive building and beautifully decorated. There is a wonderful museum at the end to view as well.
Emily E — Google review
Not just a medieval palace, a real voyage in time. We visited the Palace of the Grand Master on a Sunday morning and it seems like we got there before the crowds. We had plenty of time to visit every room and also the opportunity to snap a lot of pictures without too many people around. First things first, the Palace is in pristine condition. I was expecting a nice place but this visit totally blew our minds. It's big, and I mean BIG. Lots of history, stunning architecture, and even more. There are a few places you visit where you feel like words aren't enough to describe, this is one of them. It seems like every room we visited brought a new dimension to the history of the place and wowed us with mosaics, furniture, views or just absolute grandeur. We were lucky enough to visit during a museum day so we got the chance to visit for free, but to be honest, it's totally worth the regular price ice of admission. Take the time to stop by the windows and take a look outside, views are amazing at almost all of them.

A magical place full of history and beauty! I absolutely loved the stunning architecture of the Palace of the Grand Master — as soon as I walked in, it felt like stepping into a Disney movie! Every artifact inside the museum is so well preserved, and the royal rooms are simply beautiful. The atmosphere takes you back in time, letting you imagine the life of the knights who once lived here. The ticket was €20, but it was totally worth it. A must-visit when in Rhodes!
Xhulia P — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful palace. It is huge and absolutely stunning and gives a real insight into the Rhodes of yesteryear. We found it fascinating, the architecture, statues, rooms, mosaic floors are awe inspiring and the audiovisual elements really brought it to life. Stop off for a coffee at the lovely coffee shop within the courtyard and enjoyed a lovely coffee. If you are visiting Rhodes this is a must see!

Fantastic - really worth a visit. The architecture of the Palace is wonderful. All of the artifacts inside the museum are well preserved, and the various rooms are terrific to see. It was not overly busy when we went and the tickets were ~€20, but worth it.

Icmeler Beach is a beautiful public beach with stunning views of rocky hills covered in pine forests. While the water is clean, there have been some reports of litter on the beach. However, amenities such as changing cabins and showers are available. It's a quieter alternative to Marmaris Beach, offering a better view and fewer boats. Visitors can rent sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee and enjoy various water sports in the crystal-clear sea.
Really beautiful sandy beach. We were there mid November so it was really quiet with most of the beach bars and hotels shut. The place we stopped at for lunch on the beach was closing the next day so had a really limited menu, but it was a lovely beach.

Most people friendly and salt of the earth. Couldn’t do enough for you. Any time of the day or night, there would be shops open. Some phenomenal evenings, breakfasts and lunches at The Majestic by the beautiful flower lined and walkbridge connected Canal. Surprisingly though, prices were similar to Sydney, Aus. prices or a little cheaper. It wasn’t as cheap as I had expected for such a small town. Overall, my experience in Içmeler was fondly memorable! Worth the trip.
Evgenia A — Google review
A nice beach in the centre of icmeler. It was empty in October so Marmaris is better if you want a more lively atmosphere, however if you want some peace and quiet this is the place to go. I’d imagine it’s quite different in the middle of the summer!

While the sand is mostly dry clay and not fine white sand, visitors can still enjoy the serene atmosphere and watch giant cruise ships passing by. The beach also boasts excellent facilities including showers, changing areas, and toilets.
Lovely beach with warm water and plenty of sun beds. The water is more clear in the morning. You also can find plenty of companies with water sports like sky jets never pay the price they asking always negotiate. The water is not deep so is good for children. Also restaurants as one after one.

The sand is brown ,it's kind of dry clay in most of the parts, don't expect white fine sand. The sea is brown as well, if you go to the deep part it can be a little bit more clear. If you want to go snorkeling ,that's isn't the beach ,go to Turunç, Turunç is amazing. Marmaris beach facilities are spectacular, showers everywhere, places to get changed and toilets. Amazing facilities.

In the heart of Marmaris, Turkey, lies Youth Square, a vibrant plaza that replaced a dilapidated building. At the center of this square is the Dancing Fountain, featuring two basins that come to life with an automated light and music show at 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm during peak season. What appears as a serene fountain during the day transforms into a lively hub for music and entertainment at night.

Setur Netsel Marmaris Marina is a stunning and popular attraction in Marmaris. The marina is surrounded by picturesque mountains, offering a beautiful setting for leisurely walks along the esplanade. Colorful boats with Turkish flags line the clear blue waters, creating a charming atmosphere. The walkways are adorned with flower beds, fountains, and sculptures, while an array of bars, restaurants, and shops provide ample entertainment options.
A really beautiful marina, lovely to walk around by day (very hot of course) or by night. Lots of flashy yachts to admire and lots of restaurants and bars - more of a family vibe though rather than drunks teens which is nice. Highly recommend an evening stroll and a meal under the sky. Don't forget to stroll up to the impressive castle if you have a chance too.

Very nice well designed place with whatever a sailor can need such as warm water, every time clean big spaced toilets with hair dryer. Good shopping area with many cafes restaurants and sailing shops, a very close super market just next to marine, close to heart of Marmaris just a few minutes walk you are in castle historic area and bar streets.
Elgin K — Google review
It used to be very nice and friendly, in the last two years prices have become unreasonable. Let me explain: first of all is very noisy at night (both from night clubs but also fron other boats partying) but the worst thing is the high speed powerboats entering or leaving the marina. So once in while unexpected waves come out of the blue caused by tenders. Additionally the behavior of certain staff + the refusal to speak English is funny when working in tourism! There is a rule in marketing called "willingness to pay", i don't mind the higher cost BUT downgrading the quality of your services is serious.
Spyros — Google review
The marina is impeccably clean and well run, the town has everything you cod need to refit your boat with. Most of the mariners speak good English and are very helpful and the technical support is also readily available. It is also a very safe and secure marina with someone attentively patroling on a tender through the night .

Akbük is a beautiful beach with wonderful views and definitely gorgeous sea and mountain. You can swim in every shade of green and blue in a few strokes. Very kid friendly, Nice restaurants and cafes for food and drinks. Heated showers is a big winner.People camp there too which cost 15 usd-50 usd for tend and it will be cheaper if we have our own tend.since its a seasonal operating place during summer june-sep I think the things are little expensive so its better to buy the stuffs before going there . mini bus available from mugla bus station and akyaka which cost around 3 - 5 usd suggested to have a day trip to enjoy the serenity of beach .

I had a good experience in akbük but i heard that it used to be more relaxing and beautiful over there but now its too crowded and not that good if you just want to chill out. There's a beautiful forest there too but the fire department won't let you camp there unfortunately. And if you want to camp you either should find a place before actually getting to akbük or you have to camp in the campsites which are too crowded and in my opinion awful ! And overpriced

Very nice, spacious and clean sandy beach. Water is crystal clear and it's shallow for like 20 meters. The only downside was the parasols; they're rather small and don't have great coverage. However the beach is pretty cheap -100 TL for a couple of beds and a parasol - so it's definitely worth it.
Pariz — Google review
Great beach with cafe , toilets, changing etc. entrance is 200TL for the car and 350TL for 2 sunbeds .

This is our first trip to İztuzu Beach by car, and the journey is quite long. The breathtaking views on the drive to the beach make it worthwhile. The parking lot costs ₺200, and payment is required upon entry. They also provide changing rooms and restrooms. There is a restaurant and tanning area where you can pay ₺165 per person or ₺350 for two wooden sun loungers, or choose a free one on the sand. The beach was extremely crowded. The only thing you have to do when you go swimming in the sea, all you have to do is walk far enough until the water is deep enough. İztuzu Beach is absolutely stunning; unfortunately, we did not get to see any turtles, but we had an enjoyable time. I recommend it purely for the experience.
Inga — Google review
İztuzu Plajı is one of the most beautiful and unique beaches in Turkey. The sand is golden, the water is shallow and warm, and the scenery is amazing with mountains on one side and the river delta on the other. What makes it special is that it’s also a protected nesting area for Caretta Caretta turtles, so it feels like you’re visiting both a beach and a natural reserve. There are no big hotels or loud music, which keeps it peaceful. Best to bring your own snacks and water, and respect the turtle areas. Truly a natural paradise!

One of my favourite in Turkey. Perfectly clean, wise, and beautiful. Dalyan in general is a magic place for a vacation. You can get there by the boat, or by the bus service. It takes around 30 minutes, both ways are enjoyable though, views etc. A lot of empty space, if you walk a little far from the sun lounges. Sandy clean beach, warm clean sea, perfect
Шампан С — Google review
I liked this beach a lot. The fee is not that much (2€ per car, no matter how many people are inside it), there are public toilets and showers (with cold, salty water) and the beach is clean. The water doesn't get deep enough for swimming for more than 50meters which makes it ideally for kids. You can also visit the Turtle Hospital (which is located close to the entrance). There is also shadow under some pine trees, but if you arrive after 10am most probably you will find it already occupied. At times it gets very windy. The restaurant inside has reasonable prices.

Kaunos Ancient City is a fascinating archaeological site located in Dalyan, Turkey. The city features various structures and impressive tombs carved into the mountainside. Visitors staying at the nearby hotel can enjoy stunning views of the Calbis River, Antique Kaunos City, and Lycian King Tombs. The town of Dalyan offers a charming atmosphere with riverside restaurants serving delicious fish dishes and small bars for enjoying Turkish coffee.
Spectacular site about 2 miles across the river from Dalyan. Entry is 3 Euro and the site itself is expansive and still being excavated, and new treasures are constantly being uncovered. Situated just on the Edge of The delta, with slack water in the lake Mosquitos could be a problem at times but not during my visit in September. You will see plenty of Turtles swimming around the lake too. Great Views from the Acropolis. Be careful not an Easy Hike.

Absolutely amazing ancient ruins. Quite a hike from one plateau to another but worth it. The boat across was 100TL for two people return. And the pancakes at the cafe on that side were amazing. Well worth a visit. If you go into the cemetery and walk straight on, then take a little turn right at the fence you can get a closer look at the rock tombs.

An amazing relic of the past. I'd like to give everyone a little information here. There is no need to get a boat trip to visit this place. Walk along the front in the direction of the sea. (Left). You will see a restaurant on the other side. There is a row boat service to take you to over. The cost is insignificant. You will see a single road on the other side. Simply walk along it for approximately 20 minutes and you will arrive at Caunos. You can not miss it. It's an easy walk for most people. You do have to get in and out of the boat, obviously but you will be helped. These are pictures of the crossing point.

Well worth a visit to the extensive ruins. Took the car ferry as foot passengers from river by Hotel Portleva. Fare 20 lira each way (cash). Then 15 minutes easy walk on a road. Entry fee 140 lira each again cash only. Visited from 4pm on 1 October and only a very few people were there. The amphitheatre is being renovated but still accessible. The lower level by the river is river is accessible by an ancient paved path which is uneven in places -saw a few big lizards. It’s possible to cross the river by row boat from the town centre but this means a longer walk on the other side.

Kaunos is a must see if you’re in the area! So much amazing history to see and gorgeous views over the water! Remember to bring water as it’s HOT up there… they have opened a little cafe to grab a drink too.
Kylee K — Google review
Kaunos is an ancient city located in the province of Muğla, Turkey, near the modern town of Dalyan. Once a strategically important port city, it is now situated several kilometers inland due to the silting of its harbor over centuries. The city is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List and is known for its unique blend of Carian, Lycian, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine influences. There is quite a lot of restoration work but it doesn't detract from what you see. There are bilingual signs outlining what each structure is and it's history. All in all, it's like the entertainment quarter for the ancient inhabitants of this area. Entry is 150 Turkish Lira payable at the top. The walk up is very dusty and hot. I recommend good walking shoes, a hat and water.
Jodie E — Google review
4th visit. This time I decided to walk to the highest point where the castellations are. It was a difficult ascent which took about 30 min's beyond the ampitheatre. Don't think I'd do that walk again but if you're up for a challenge go for it. The views are panoramic once at the top

Dalyan Strait, also known as Dalyan Canal, is a picturesque waterway in the Mugla province of Turkey. The 10 km long canal connects Koycegiz Lake to the sea and meanders through the Dalyan Delta. Visitors can stroll along a wooden promenade on the eastern bank, where the town of Dalyan comes alive with a lively atmosphere.

Azmak Nehri Restaurantları, located in Akyaka, Mugla, Turkey, offers a unique dining experience by the Azmak River. The river itself is a natural wonder with crystal clear water and an abundance of fish and seaweed, resembling a natural aquarium. Visitors can take boat tours along the river at reasonable prices to marvel at its beauty. The area also features hotels like Elif Hanim Hotel & Spa Akyaka with Wi-Fi available throughout the property.
The water is very clean and clear so that you can see fishes through the very deep water. Boats are for 12 people and the short trip takes about half an hour. The prices of the trips varies from 11$ to 13 $ depending on routes.

The river and surrounding ambience is phenomenal. One should really need to hop on a boat and enjoy the slow ride with tremendous scenery. However, I suggest you pack your meal, even get your drinking water with you. The restaurants are below average, sometimes far from edible and truly undeservingly expensive.

The Aphrodisias Ancient City Museum, established in 1979, showcases recovered artifacts from the historic Greek city of Aphrodisias. Located in a remote Anatolian region, this site encompasses vast expanses and beautiful natural surroundings such as Roman poplars, green fields and chirping birds. It was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2017 for its grandeur and scale.
While somewhat of a detour from other sites, this place is absolutely worth a visit. The site itself is phenomenal, with a largely intact greek amphitheater with a capacity of 30,000 people, an extensively restored public pool and Roman theater. You will see a lot without the crowds of Efesus or Pumukalle.
Andrew H — Google review
Another must-see archeological site. İt is about a 3hrs drive from Izmir. What impressed me the most was the 170mt pool, it is unrestored now but I hope it will be one day. One remark: the museum building is closed to visitors.

The archeological site is fantastic, interesting and beautiful. You can easily spend there 2 hours. Take some water and a hat, as it can be very hot on the sun. However, the Museum is currently closed...and this was very dissapointing.
László H — Google review

Absolutely beautiful, well-preserved and off the beaten path. Low crowds mean you can walk on and around the ruins. Come early and explore in near silence and solitude.
Erik S — Google review
We had limited time and we were not sure if we should include this in our itinerary, but we did and we were delighted. Way less crowded than Ephesus, and from my point of view experientially deeper and easier to immerse into the history of the place without the tour busses. Though smaller than Ephesus, the 170 m long swimming pool must have been a treat, and Aphrodisias had plenty of water the gardens were reportedly magnificent. Definitely a City I may have wanted to live in back in the day…

Lake Salda, located in Western Turkey, is a stunning natural wonder that offers breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere. The lake's crystal-clear blue waters are surrounded by picturesque mountains, creating an idyllic setting for relaxation and nature appreciation. Visitors can also explore the nearby Lavender plantations and indulge in photography sessions to capture the beauty of the surroundings. Known for its healing minerals believed to benefit skin diseases, Lake Salda provides an opportunity for picnics and camping amidst its pristine environment.
One of the most beautiful place we have ever been. I hope that people keep it here clean and tidy as it is. The transportation is easy by car, just don’t park middle of the road, otherwise you will get a ticket, find a proper place. Take your trash with you. Swimming is not recommended and I think it shouldn’t be allowed to. Make sure you go there with slippers, and be prepared to be drawn by the mud.
R. B — Google review
We drove from Antalya to Salda Lake, and the drive was smooth and easy, with clear roads. The lake itself is visible from a distance, but the main tourist area is a bit further inside. Positives: •Great for Photography: The lake offers stunning views that are perfect for photography enthusiasts. •Fresh Air: The surroundings are refreshing, providing a great escape into nature. •Beautiful Views: The lake’s unique turquoise waters make for an amazing sight. Improvement: •Cleanliness of Shoreline: While the lake is beautiful overall, the shore could be cleaner. Extra Note: Be cautious of honey bees in the area. One seemed especially interested in my wife, leaving her with a memorable sting! A picturesque spot with minor drawbacks, Salda Lake is worth visiting for nature lovers and photographers.

I thought it was underwhelming but my wife thought it was great. It was on the way to Pamukkale from Sagalassos so worth a short detour. We just waded in, but some people were swimming. I can't say I noticed any special healing powers ;)

Beautiful tranquil lake. Not crowded when I visited in an October afternoon.
Albert W — Google review
We were pretty hyped about coming here after reading it. The lake is a unique experience, but was not exactly what we thought. We went to a campground on the NW side of the lake and there was a sign saying "Prohibited entry to lake" with no exploration as to why. We didn't know if it was due to no lifeguard or because of something harmful in the water. We continued to drive around to the east side where there is a restaurant. We ate there (better food than expected) and they said we could get in the lake, which the kids did. All in all it's a neat experience, but we didn't see anything around the lake that actually talked about the significance of it. And there wasn't a single dock; we didn't see any boats, canoes, etc.
Noah V — Google review
What an amazing nature and beauty about this place which is unbelievable, lake is super huge and we went from one corner to another even the village is so beautiful while going to Salda Lake. A must place to visit and also there restaurants and coffee shops around some key spots with restroom facilities.

Salda Lake, often dubbed the "Turkish Maldives," is a breathtaking natural wonder with its striking turquoise waters and white sandy shores. The lake's unique beauty is a testament to the delicate balance of nature, created by the rare hydromagnesite minerals that form its shores. While its serene atmosphere and picturesque landscape make it a must-visit destination, it's crucial that we approach this fragile ecosystem with care. With increasing tourism, the need for responsible travel and strong conservation efforts is more important than ever to preserve this pristine paradise for future generations. Inst: @uyuyangezgin

The Travertines of Pamukkale are a must-see natural wonder in Turkey. These stunning thermal pools, formed after earthquakes, are surrounded by white limestone and offer a breathtaking view with rolling hills and ancient ruins in the background. Accessible through rough rocks, the lukewarm water is clean and clear, perfect for wading around. Visitors can take a dip in Cleopatra's pool and capture memorable moments with photographers available on-site.
We were so nearly put off by the bad google reviews of people expecting a paradise of blue water everywhere! But in reality, this place is so beautiful and has so much history. It is worth going for the amphitheater alone and the travertines is a bonus! We recommend visiting the South Gate at 6.30am to see this amazing place without other tourists. There are also hot air balloons that fly at 6am and it is stunning to watch them! An absolute must do!
William C — Google review
We were attending this attraction on Saturday, 11 o'clock. It took us 3.5 hours to get there from Fethiye so we couldn't make it earlier and we were ready to see many people inside , even though it wasn't high season anymore. You make a big circle on the car to get to the official parking lot, pay 120 tl for parking and then get through the gates. In October 2025 1 ticket costs 30 Euro and you pay in liras. Then you start your journey using a golf car or walking The territory is huge. At first, you walk through the ancient city and it takes you around 20 minutes to get to the travertines. There are not many people around, they are all chilling at the pools. There's a beautiful garden and mountains around your way, many benches and tables for the picnic which is really nice. You can also visit the museum and the ancient theatre. The travertines are very beautiful in the sunlight. Not all of them are filled with water but you can still take great pictures Some people get deep down so they are alone in the bigger area, all of the tourists are concentrated on top of the pools. You need to take of the shoes to get there, the stones can be slippery but the water is pretty warm. The views around are breathtaking! You can also enjoy your time at the cafes right next to the travertines and get some snacks. So I'd say it was worth visiting once in the life time (in the sunny weather and preferably earlier on the weekday) however the entrance fee is very high and I'm not sure it's equivalent to the experience you get
Анна М — Google review
Pamukkale is impressive from the first step. The snow-white terraces and azure pools look almost unreal, like a natural chalk castle. Hiking trails allow you to get close to the cascades; the water is warm and pleasantly tickles your feet. There are many tourists, so peaceful photos are rare-arrive early in the morning or late in the evening. There's an entrance fee, and some terraces are closed for conservation, but the overall view is breathtaking. Nearby Hierapolis boasts a well-preserved Roman amphitheater it's worth a visit. Bring comfortable shoes, a swimsuit, and water; don't leave litter and respect the securit rules. I highly recommend it it's one of those places that's easier to experience than to describe.
P — Google review
It is an amazing natural formation by accumulating minerals from the flowing hot spring water. There is a dedicated section where tourists can experience travertine and hot spring water under their feet. It is required to enter the travertine area without shoes and socks. There is a self serve cafeteria. There are always a huge number of tourists visiting it. Considering that there is an entry fee, the authority could increase the number of WC facilities.
Dipak O — Google review
A magical place for me! The real experience of walking barefoot (like most) or with some bathing shoes in this white marvel is bar none. Even though there is a lot of water, I found the surfaces to be not slippery at all. You can spend a few hours just running around the hill. Enterprise of €30 is a bit steep.
Oliviu G — Google review
We entered through the South Gate, which is the closest entrance to the travertines. If you’re visiting with children, elderly people, or anyone with walking difficulties, it’s better to take a buggy car — tickets for it are available right after the ticket check. The amphitheatre is a bit uphill, but worth the short climb. Many of the travertine pools had water during our visit, and all the main attractions — the travertines, ancient amphitheatre, Cleopatra Pool, and other monuments — are located within the same area. Unfortunately, the Cleopatra Pool was closed for renovation when we visited. Please note that the entry gate opens only at 8 a.m. We arrived at 6:30 a.m. but were told that even the parking area gates would open only at 8 a.m. We still got to enjoy watching the hot air balloons take off around 6:30 a.m. from outside the gate, which was a beautiful experience.
Jayashankar B — Google review
Very beautiful place. Very interesting. It is better to come with short clothes or a swimsuit. It's just a shame that it's so expensive for tourists. For tourists 30 euros and for Turks 4 euros. At the checkout they are trying to sell headphones For 10 euros. That they don't need them at all.
Dovile — Google review
It’s definitely an attraction worth visiting, but I don’t feel the €30 entrance fee is justified. The place is rich in history and the audio guide shares fascinating stories from the past, making it a wonderful site to learn from. Still, the price feels a bit too high. I hope the government could consider lowering the entrance fee or at least offering discounted rates for groups. The colors give the impression of being painted, and uncovering the history behind them makes the experience truly engaging.

An amazing place to visit near Pamukkele. It is most famous for the vast layers of travertine formed from sediments of minerals from hot spring water flowing through the hills. The views are fantastic, other worldly. You are allowed to walk on a section of travertines, but only with bare feet. Watch out, it can be slippery. It was used as a spa as early as 2nd century BCE. A city was formed around it and many people who came there never left leaving behind a necropolis.

Great day out, very pretty and amazing sight. The salt was a bit hard on your feet at times as you can't wear shoes until you get to the top. It was nice to paddle in the pools.
Annmarie S — Google review
We enjoyed ourselves and it was very informative. The ruins are cool especially the reconstructions but also just lots of columns and carving laying about. The museum was also very good. It was hot but there are numerous fountains and shady benches and picnic tables, cafe prices are relatively reasonable considering.

Beautiful site, but frustrating experience Hierapolis is stunning, with incredible ancient ruins and breathtaking views. However, the visitor experience could be much better. They charge $10 for Bluetooth headphones, but you can’t even use them during the tour, which feels misleading. While the history and scenery are worth seeing, the management of tours and extra charges leaves a lot to be desired.

If you love going back in time to see how the ancient people lived, then this is a must see place. The amphitheater is mind blowing and breathe taking. This was a city that had Roman influence and the artifacts and carving were mind boggling.

Completely bad ass. Mega old city up on a hill. The tomb of Philip the Apostle, BTW it's empty. Calcium pools at sunrise, i cut my foot in there. Balloons at sunrise...way cool. Oh and the Gates of Hell. You can't go in there because, yep, you'll die. WOO HOO!!!

It's a quiet good place but to much people and looks kinda artificial. Not enough water and it could be very hot in a sunny day. And in the entrance they try to scam you. They'll give you 30 euro tickets then will charge like 40 euros and won't even ask if you wanna pay or not I just realized it because I was paying for few people and the money it deducted was like insane then I asked them why have I been charged extra they said that they gave me a headphone that I never asked for then somehow I managed to return the head phone and get refunded but I bet 90% of people who are paying by a card won't even notice

Nice place to see some history, be prepared to walk and get lots of sun. Has some cafes for food and drink Be aware that if you want to walk down you need to go barefoot. Otherwise you're taking one of the roads back down (long way). There is parking even outside the lot along the road and some other places for free.

Cleopatra Antique Pools, located in Pamukkale, offers a unique and historical hot spring experience. Situated between the museum and the Temple of Apollo, this man-made pool is filled with mineral-rich hot spring water at 36 degrees Celsius. The setting is surreal, with half-submerged pillars and scattered marble debris creating an atmospheric ambiance.
Lovely place to take a dip in the thermal spring. Clicking photos is prohibited so I could not click many pictures here. There is an entry fee and one needs to carry towels and shorts inside if you are planning to take a dip inside the pool.
Rahul P — Google review
Cleopatra pool is under renovation and the fence around it doesn’t let you even see inside. Also, the travertine pools are nearly all drained. There are 3 hidden ones you can wade in but don’t expect much for pictures. That being said the ruins are quite impressive and the museum is well done.

Just a few steps from the travertine terraces, this peaceful park is full of ancient ruins, shady trees, and calm paths to wander. It’s a great place to rest after soaking in the thermal waters and feel the layers of history all around you. ➕ Scattered Roman ruins and old stonework Quiet, green space away from the crowds Beautiful photo spots and benches to relax ➖ Not much signage or information ❤️: Worth a stroll if you’re already in Pamukkale — history and nature in one calm corner.

Well worth the visit and remember to bring swimming clothes. The water is warm around 28°C and I would set aside about 1 to 2 hours. They also have the food court in the same vicinity so grabbing a bite to eat and getting something to drink is a recommendation. The earlier you arrive the better and avoiding the late morning to afternoon rush is the way to go.

One of the must visit places to experience if you go to Hierapolis...this Antique pool is known to have Thermal water with minerals which is good for your body...Honestly it is an experience worth to have.. The pool is so relaxing with warm water but be careful of the big rocks inside the pool, when you swim or walk inside the pool. The water is not very deep and you can relaxing by sitting on the big rocks. Cafe, Toilets, Lockers, shower and changing places are available by the pool. Overall very good experience.

Visited Pamukkale 5th March 25. Really disappointed S & S travel by the Orange Bazzar Lara Beach didn't tell us that the Cleopatra pool had been closed since January 25. Also there are only 3 little water filled pools on the travetines as the images you see online are either very old photo shopped as the area now looks nothing like any photos. I will say however the Hierapolis are as shown online images and pretty impressive. The tour guide lifted up a wooden pallet that had been placed over part of an open aqueduct, this was the only bit of water that you could touch that was warm. The water in the 3 pools on the travetines was just above the ankles and was probably from the recent down pour of rain it was freezing cold. If you like ancient Roman ruins its worth going. If you want to see beautiful filled travetine pools don't bother they no longer exist

The pools are closed and dry of water, the lady in the entrance she will till you 30 euro, and once u try to pay with card she will add 10 euro without telling you. So basically scamming you. Luckily for me I checked before tapping my card. It’s just some old stones that they call it history.

The pool is closed while a new structure is built around it. The guards told us that the pool would re-open in October 2025.

Hierapolis Ancient Theater

Mentioned on

The Hierapolis ancient theater, a UNESCO heritage site in Turkey, is an incredibly well-preserved structure initially built around 60 AD during the reign of Hadrian. Despite collapsing due to an earthquake in the 7th century, it once accommodated 15,000 spectators for various sports, cultural events, and imperial activities. Extensively restored from 2004 to 2014, it retains over 90% of its original features.
It is an amazing hand-made theater. According to our guide's introduction, the capacity was over 11k attending. It was not only a place for music, theater, and concert, the empire/ king was organizing the wars and other related activities. The sound system is surprising, you speak a bit louder it resonates through the theater everyone can hear from every corner. Like, we tested by clapping, it is resounding even louder. It is located almost at the top of the city, you can enjoy a stunning wide view around. There you see a lot of tourists like young couples, families, tours, and students like us😒 Most of foreign tourists prefer the car to take them around the city but i don't agree on it, i would recommend you to walk lift and right to explore the city. Everything is SUPER. Consider the visit time, ideally morning and afternoon.

The Hierapolis Ancient Theater is truly impressive — one of the main highlights when visiting Pamukkale. It’s amazingly well-preserved and gives you a glimpse into how massive and grand the performances must have been back in ancient times. Built during the Roman period, it could seat thousands of people and was used for plays, music, and even gladiator shows. Most visitors online call it a must-see, and I’d agree. I came here as part of a tour group, so I didn’t take any local guide, but the tour provided enough info to appreciate the site. You can take a buggy to the top for around USD 50, but honestly, it’s not worth it — walking is much better and gives you time to enjoy the scenery. But if you cant walk then you'll need to take it then. There’s a WC available nearby, but the ladies’ WC tends to get crowded. Around the Cotton Castle area, there are a few shops and cafés, but prices are on the higher side. It gets quite hot here, so bring sunscreen, a hat, and some water. Overall, it’s a great experience and definitely worth the walk!

Hierapolis is an absolutely phenomenal historical site that truly stands out! Its uniqueness lies in the seamless blend of ancient Roman ruins with the breathtaking natural wonder of Pamukkale's white travertines. Walking through the vast necropolis, the incredibly well-preserved theater, and the ancient baths, you can almost hear the echoes of past civilizations. The atmosphere is profoundly serene and awe-inspiring, especially as the sun casts long shadows over the ruins. And the views? Simply unforgettable! The panoramic vistas of the "Cotton Castle" combined with the sprawling ancient city are a photographer's dream. A must-visit for any history or nature enthusiast!

The Hierapolis Ancient Theatre is one of the most stunning and well-preserved Roman theatres in Turkey. Sitting high above Pamukkale, it offers not only an incredible glimpse into history but also breathtaking views of the travertine terraces and valley below. The scale of the theatre is impressive, with seating for thousands, and the decorative details on the stage area are still visible despite centuries of wear. Walking through the steps and standing at the top gives you a true sense of how grand performances must have felt here. Be prepared for a bit of a climb from the main site—it’s uphill, but absolutely worth it once you see the theatre in full. I recommend visiting early in the morning or later in the evening when the crowds thin out. If you’re already visiting Pamukkale, don’t miss this highlight—it’s the crown jewel of Hierapolis and a must-see for history lovers and photographers alike.

The ancient theater of Hierapolis in Pamukkale impresses with its scale and state of preservation: the steps and stage are well preserved, and the acoustics are truly outstanding—even a quiet voice can be heard throughout the amphitheater. The upper tiers offer excellent views of the ruins and the valley. I recommend visiting early in the morning or at sunset to avoid the heat and capture the soft light for photos. Be sure to bring water and comfortable shoes, as the stone steps are slippery. A must-see for history buffs: the combination of architecture and setting makes this place unforgettable.

The Hierapolis Ancient Theatre, built in the 2nd century AD, is a grand Roman structure seating over 12,000 people. It features beautifully preserved carvings and stunning views over Pamukkale’s white terraces.

This is an ancient Greek theatre. The theatre is well preserved. It is large and built of stones. You can walk on the stairs and enjoy the view. A guide is recommended to understand about this place. A must visit spot in Hierapolis.

Stage area reconstruction is impressive and the overall steepness of the seating area is cool. Definitely worth the walk.

Beautiful but small cave that seems yet untouched by mass tourism. Entry fee of 60 liras seemed fair.

Marvellous natural formation. It is the second Pamukkale but in the cave. The road is terrible, it is not part of museum card. The stairs are under water so be prepared.

This is a cool cave to explore! Not very large but very interesting. We took our shoes off to walk because the path is flooded. Next to the cave is a public park with playground, picnic area and a lovely swimming pool with fresh water flowing through it. And clean toilet too!

Cool place to visit if you are driving near by. It is like mini Pamukkale under the ground. It is worth going in with swimming shoes or beach shoes as the cave ground is full of water. There is a big parking lot and the parking is included to the price. The site itself is small, it doesn’t take long to see the cave. There is a pool outdoors where you can swim. It was filled with kids mainly. There are changing rooms and showers that are free of charge. There are no sun beds by the pool therefore not comfortable to stay longer by the pool. In one of the water sources there are lots of many turtles 🐢

The cave is said to be more than 2.5 million years old, 190 meters long, and 14 meters deep. It is indeed a geological wonder and is definitely worth visiting if published photos are of interest to you. However, in this review, I will not focus on the technical aspects of the cave since these can be found on the internet. I will rather focus on points that the visitor needs to know before he comes, so please take consideration of the bullets below. 1. The cave is about a 45-minute drive from Pamukkale by car and is not close to any other tourist attraction site. You pay at the entrance (not sure if the Müze Kart option is admissible here) and they let you take your car inside where a decent parking lot is available. It can accommodate buses too. 2. When I went in May 2025, toilets were still unfinished (under construction), so I expect they will be ready in a couple of months. Until then, toilets in petrol stations on your way are a must if you’re “in distress”. 3. As soon as you park and get out of your car, you start to smell a bad odor, very much similar to that of rotten eggs or sewers. I first thought that the odor is coming from a nearby open sewage manhole but, instead of decreasing as I moved towards the cave entrance, it increased. It turned out that the smell is emitted from the cave and (as I discovered later) it is due to the Sulphur-based chemical composition of the water inside. The severity of the smell is not to be underestimated. To me, it was striking and made me cut my visit short. If you have breathing problems or are an odor-sensitive person, don’t come. Note that the vapors inside the cave do not represent a hazard to a healthy person. Just repelling. 4. The wooden/concrete stairs running into the depth of the cave are slippery and the water runs over them with abundance. The water and the slipping risk necessitate wearing suitable shoes before coming: waterproof up to the ankle and slip resistant. Some people in other reviews recommended wearing flip-flops but I’m strongly against that. Flip-flops are extremely slippery. 5. If you suffer from knee issues you might face difficulties. Though handrails are available, the height & span of the stair treads are irregular. 6. There are bats in the cave, a lot of bats, but seemingly harmless. Hope my review was helpful. Enjoy your visit.

Small compared to some famous cave systems. But the travertine is lively. It was very cheap to get in and we had it almost to ourselves. Definitely worth a visit

Amazing cave. The size is small, it takes maximum 5 mins to walk around + photos 10 min. In summer time they have a pool with thermal water, in winter the pool is empty. On the territory there are a toilet and a small shop where you can buy sweets and drinks.

This is a well preserved cave located in Denizli, Turkey. It is a short and easy hike to the cave entrance, and the cave itself is not very large, but it is still a beautiful sight to see. The natural water that flows through the cave is a beautiful turquoise color, and the cave walls are covered in stunning travertine formations. The cave is open to visitors for a small fee, and the hike to the entrance is only about 10 minutes long. Once you reach the cave, you can walk through the main chamber and admire the natural beauty of the cave. There are also a few small side chambers that you can explore. The cave is not very large, so you can easily see it all in about 30 minutes. However, the short visit is well worth it for the chance to see such a beautiful natural wonder.
