This 5-star hotel is in the seaside town of Rhodes and features a rooftop terrace with a pool and bar, as well as Italian dining. It also has a front desk, room service and currency exchange. There is also a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and bar, as well as shared lounge.
What a lovely hotel, first and most important is the amazing service. Everyone is so kind and helpful, one cannot ask for better. The rooms are comfortable and well looked after. The location is perfect, only thing is it can be a bit noisy at night from the club across the road but after the first night it didnt bother us. Thanks so much for being such great hosts!

Great new and super clean hotel, the staff is fantastic and welcoming and everyone that works the breakfast shift are just so welcoming. Only downside is that at times if your room is facing the front of the hotel the beach bar/club is noisy. They tend to shut down the music at 1 am onwards so choose different rooms if you want a more quiet experience.

More Meni City Beach Rhodes is a fine hotel. Our first and second choice hotels along this stretch of the east side of Elli Beach were fully booked for middle of September 2025. The location is great; comfortable walking distance to the old town; and the stretch of the sea in front of it appears a lot more protected than other parts which was choppy. The sea water was calm and clear with many small fishes which make for a pleasant swim. The room rate was much higher than what we expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. The loud music at night did not bother us too much as the room assigned to us did not face the beach club and bar. Date of Posting : 25 Sep 2025

Great experience as it was our first time in Rhodes and will keep this place in mind if we every return. The staff were fantastic especially Elenor (apologies if incorrect spelling). She went above and beyond for us whether it was giving us tips for local bars and restaurants, best breakfast items and asking if we needed anything. Its the little things like this to made our stay more special so thank you. They had a great rooftop bar are that had a great view of the Sea. I was surprised this bar wasn't utilised much by the other guests as there's not.many rooftop bars in Rhodea town with that view Overall, we would recommend the hotel and glad we choose here. Thank you to all the staff at CC
Fraser G — Google review
The hotel was fantastic, within walking distance to the beaches, bars, restaurants, and the Old City. We loved the food and drinks at the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Despina and Spiros, whom we thank greatly. We will definitely choose this hotel for our next visit.
Serhan A — Google review
I was a little concerned that this would be a noisy hotel being based near the beach clubs. So I requested a quiet room which was at the back of the hotel and this was fine... I hardly noticed the beach clubs and had a very peaceful sleep. TBH this is rhodes so evenings are always full of entertainment and I've stayed in noisier "quiet" retreats. Rooms have great furnishing, loads of space and the air con is perfect. I thought they were fantastic and very clean. Breakfast is a la carte and cooked very well. A special mention about all of the staff. I dont think I've stayed in a friendlier hotel with every staff member being happy to help or say hello. It wasn't a case of asking for breakfast items.... more a case of declining as I was so full! All at breakfast were great! The roof top bar is great for some views and an evening drink. It's a city hotel so the pool is really a cool down pool rather than something you can swim in but you can chill out around it. So the bonus of being near the beach bars is.... you're near the beach bars! And it's located in a great spot for exploring the old and new town too. There are so many restaurants in a short stroll that we only ate once in the old town. Our 6 night stay flew by. Thanks for a great stay

This is absolutely my favorite hotel in the WORLD! The staff is outstanding! The rooms themselves are very spacious and the particular room we stayed in had a double sink and a very beautiful shower/bathroom area. Accommodations: - Delicious breakfast made to order every morning that includes almost anything and everything you could think of! Pancakes, Omelettes, Oatmeal, Yogurt, eggs, bacon, etc! - Outstanding rooftop pool and bar area that overlooks the beaches of Rhodes - You can order drinks and food at the rooftop pool or sit and lounge by the bar area - The most accommodating, helpful, and kind hotel staff I've ever met - They include a mini shaving cream, razor, q tips, and other small travel necessities you may need in your hotel room - They also have a paid laundry service where they send out your laundry and you get it within (roughly) two days (we did this and it was so nice to have clean + fresh clothes on vacation - def worth the money!)
Melissa C — Google review
First the positive: The hotel is modern and furnished with love. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is a la carte and freshly prepared. There is a fixed selection of sweet and savory dishes and every day an additional choice. The rooftop terrace won us over the most, in September there was not so much going on so we had this to ourselves on some days. However, the pool is very low (90cm), if that bothers anyone, for us it was fine. You can park for free in front of the hotel, we always found a parking space. The location is very central and you can be in Rhodes town in a few minutes walk. The hotel is located in the second row on Elli beach. This is a bit confusing, because the pictures that some providers show on the Internet convey a direct beach location. However, this is a beach bar that does not belong to the hotel. The sun beds also belong to this beach bar and are relatively expensive (20-30 euros). The hotel itself therefore has no direct view of the beach and also no beach chairs. Another point is the already often mentioned beach bar across the street, which sometimes has loud music on until 3 o'clock in the morning. We had initially also thought that some vacationers exaggerate here, but we were convinced of the opposite. Who is really looking for peace and quiet, is definitely wrong here. The view of the tennis court is also not very nice. On the whole, we enjoyed our stay very much, but felt that the price paid was clearly too high for the hotel category.

Archaeological Museum of Rhodes

History Museums
The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, located in the Old Town, is housed in the Medieval building of the hospital of the knights. It showcases ancient artifacts and art from excavations all over the island and small islets of Dodecanese. The collection includes figurines, vases, tomb groups, small objects from Ancient Ialyssos and Kameiros dating from Geometric to Roman times.
An enormous collection housed in a beautiful structure, the Museum is a must see! A carefully curated history of Rhodes in antiquity, there are hundreds of artefacts to admire. Allow plenty of time but be aware some galleries do not permit photography! Other exhibitions are not open on a Tuesday. There are some idyllic little gardens to admire too along the way, and the structure itself is beautiful. Highly recommended, just allow plenty of time!
Tim S — Google review
In my opinion, this is the most interesting tourist attraction inside the Rhodes citadel. What makes this museum stand out compared to others of its kind is that it is housed in the former hospital of the Knights Hospitaller, giving it an architecture and atmosphere completely different from a typical museum. Positive points: The entire complex is like an oasis of peace in the heart of the citadel — although you’re only 10–15 meters away from the hustle and bustle of the old town’s streets, you feel as if you have the place all to yourself. The impressive architecture. The garden, where you can sit for hours and relax (especially pleasant in the evening). Unique views of the surrounding streets (such as the famous Street of the Knights). Well-organized collections that illustrate the three major civilizations that shaped the island: Greek, Venetian, and Ottoman. Negative points: The museum’s various sections don’t share the same closing/opening hours. Some close much earlier than the times displayed at the entrance. (For example, we visited twice but never managed to see the harem.) To fully enjoy the museum, it’s best to arrive in the morning or, at the latest, around lunchtime. Little information available or, in some cases, no information at all. Bonus point: For just a few euros more, you can purchase a combined ticket that grants access to several attractions: the Archaeological Museum, the Palace of the Grand Master, the Museum of Decorative Arts, and the Church of Our Lady of the Castle (the last two are more suited for true history enthusiasts, or for tourists with plenty of time on their hands.)

An absolutely gorgeous museum. You get to feel the aura and the vibe of the old town without the crowds. We had the entire place to ourself and it was magical. The old hospital was gorgeous and the artifacts were very well preserved. A truly magical place.
Aarush A — Google review
Majestic, grandiose, the walls of this grand place echoes the sound of the knights that used to gather there in big ceremonies, celebrating their victories. Very well preserved, shows the eras that passed in Rhodes and the political and cultural side of the rich island.
Christine R — Google review
I really liked it, but here is something nobody is telling you about: some exhibitions are opened in certain hours&days only. I literally came for the prehistoric period and didn't get to see it as I was 30 minutes late for it. Thursday, Tuesdays and Saturdays only, 9 to 16:50. Rather visit in these times to be able to fully enjoy the otherwise great museum with rich exhibition.
Marin K — Google review
The museum is so beautiful with the garden and areas to sit and enjoy the sun. The statues are so incredible to see in person especially the tumbled one that was found in the ocean. I highly recommend i was in a rush to to a booking but I was there for 2 hours and didn't even realise! I went late September around 5pm and there was like no one there it was great!
Ella T — Google review
The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes is a must if you're even a little curious about the island's history. Located inside the medieval Hospital of the Knights. The building alone is impressive. The exhibits cover a wide range, statues, mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, from ancient Greece through medieval times. The gardens are peaceful and the layout is easy to follow. Entry is 10 eur. It can get warm inside, so bring water. Great cultural stop to escape the sun for a bit and learn something real.
Miodrag J — Google review
Been to Rhodes old town many times, but never managed to go into the museum. I would say it's a must visit. It was much bigger than we thought and the main large room that used to be the original hospital ward was breathtaking, much larger than expected. So many rooms with various prices of pottery and artefacts from over the years. Including a couple of rooms with some fantastic marble sculptures. I would also recommend visiting the garden to the back as it was a lively place to sit and cool down at the end of the day.

We did a walking tour with George today... His passion and knowledge for Rhodes was amazing!! He truly loves what he is doing and enjoys sharing his knowledge with everyone. Learning about the ancient city, modern City , and transitions between empires, was fascinating. His explanations were great, detailed and informative. Already planning another longer trip to the island, because he made it so interesting and we know there is so much more to explore... Thanks for making the day so special.

We booked our tour to Symi Island from Rhodes through this company on Viator. Communication was clear and responsive throughout the process, and the price was competitive. We had a stop at St George's Bay and it was very nice.

We had a fantastic experience with Half Price Tour. The boat trip went very smoothly and was absolutely beautiful. The swim stop was amazing, and the excursion itself was full of stunning views. It was a very hot day, but the whole trip was comfortable and well-organized. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. They even sent us a message beforehand to confirm the meeting point and make sure we had all the information we needed, which was very helpful. Everything was handled with care and attention, and you can tell they really want their guests to enjoy the experience. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Half Price Tour to anyone looking for a memorable boat trip.
Michela D — Google review
Very nice travel agency, the boat left perfectly on time. On board there are toilets and possibility to buy drinks and snack's. The swim in St George Bay is very nice and to see Symi for 3 hours is more then enough. Staff if very nice and the price is also very good.

We took the sailing yacht trip and had a wonderful time. Booking was easy (book direct with Half Price Tours and save big!) and communication was superb. Pick up was arranged and the day before we got a message saying that due to weather predictions they would be sailing about 90 minutes later when the conditions were expected to improve. They were right! The boat was great and skipper Georgia and first mate(?) George (who was also our pickup driver) were friendly and knowledgeable. Three swimming / snorkelling stops were perfect and lunch was excellent. Would we do it again? In a heartbeat. Thank you!
Howard G — Google review
The experience was amazing from start to finish. Staff was lovely, boat was clean, had drinks available to buy, etc. Timing wise, everything was punctual, the stop at St George's bay and symi!! PLENTY of time to enjoy. HIGHLY RECCOMEND. What an unforgettable, beautiful experience. Do not miss out!

Our guided tour could not have been better. An informatal, friendly guide took us on a historical tour of Rhode's old town spanning the centuries. Thoroughly recommended. Alexis was a fabulous ambassador for Rhodes and even treated us to a Greek pastry.

The Medieval Villa is a 5-star hotel in the city of Rhodes, which was founded in the 4th century BC by the Mytileneans. It is one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel features spacious rooms with traditional architecture and an outdoor pool overlooking the city.
This was the absolute best place I've ever stayed at. We were a party of 8 and spent three nights in Rhodes. The island is really amazing, but it was the villa that made our time there truly special. We were not missing anything! Every small thing a guest could need was available in the villa. Superb location and such a special atmosphere in the dining room. Love. This. Place.

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled at the pinnacle of the historic Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes stands as a magnificent testament to medieval architecture and history. Originally constructed by the Knights Hospitaller in the early 14th century, this imposing fortress was built atop an earlier Byzantine stronghold from the 7th century. Once serving as both a grand residence and administrative hub for these valiant knights, it has witnessed centuries of change.
Tickets are 20 EUR, but honestly, it’s worth it, the palace is stunning, with beautifully preserved halls, mosaics and a real sense of history. The inner courtyard is impressive, and walking through the massive stone corridors feels like stepping back in time. Try to visit early in the day to avoid crowds and the heat. It’s one of the must-see landmarks in Rhodes Old Town.
Miodrag J — Google review
This place is so neat! Tickets are 20Euro or about $23 USD. Get there as early as you can, it gets crowded fast. Amazing restored rooms and furniture and so much to learn and see. It is an impressive building and beautifully decorated. There is a wonderful museum at the end to view as well.
Emily E — Google review
Not just a medieval palace, a real voyage in time. We visited the Palace of the Grand Master on a Sunday morning and it seems like we got there before the crowds. We had plenty of time to visit every room and also the opportunity to snap a lot of pictures without too many people around. First things first, the Palace is in pristine condition. I was expecting a nice place but this visit totally blew our minds. It's big, and I mean BIG. Lots of history, stunning architecture, and even more. There are a few places you visit where you feel like words aren't enough to describe, this is one of them. It seems like every room we visited brought a new dimension to the history of the place and wowed us with mosaics, furniture, views or just absolute grandeur. We were lucky enough to visit during a museum day so we got the chance to visit for free, but to be honest, it's totally worth the regular price ice of admission. Take the time to stop by the windows and take a look outside, views are amazing at almost all of them.
Francois B — Google review
A magical place full of history and beauty! I absolutely loved the stunning architecture of the Palace of the Grand Master — as soon as I walked in, it felt like stepping into a Disney movie! Every artifact inside the museum is so well preserved, and the royal rooms are simply beautiful. The atmosphere takes you back in time, letting you imagine the life of the knights who once lived here. The ticket was €20, but it was totally worth it. A must-visit when in Rhodes!
Xhulia P — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful palace. It is huge and absolutely stunning and gives a real insight into the Rhodes of yesteryear. We found it fascinating, the architecture, statues, rooms, mosaic floors are awe inspiring and the audiovisual elements really brought it to life. Stop off for a coffee at the lovely coffee shop within the courtyard and enjoyed a lovely coffee. If you are visiting Rhodes this is a must see!
Nicola W — Google review
Fantastic - really worth a visit. The architecture of the Palace is wonderful. All of the artifacts inside the museum are well preserved, and the various rooms are terrific to see. It was not overly busy when we went and the tickets were ~€20, but worth it.

Plenty of fascinating history to explore, with what appears to be original decor or faithful reproductions. However, the €20 entry fee felt a bit steep for what was on offer and didn’t quite deliver value for money. The experience could be improved with more interactive elements to better engage visitors. Still, it's worth a visit if you're a history buff or interested in medieval architecture.

Sights & Landmarks
Kallithea Springs, located by the seaside, is a historic spa with Art Deco architecture and a beautiful beach. Dating back to the 7th century B.C., it has been a popular destination for those seeking the therapeutic benefits of its thermal waters. The site also features the Rotunda, where visitors can relax and enjoy Greek cold coffee, as well as opportunities for snorkeling in the clear waters.
Gorgeous place, we visited Kallithea Springs in June and really enjoyed our stay. The place is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning architecture that feels both historic and elegant. The small museum adds a nice cultural touch, and the on-site restaurant is lovely with great food and views. The beach club was a highlight, so relaxing, with crystal-clear waters and the unique experience of swimming where natural spring water meets the sea. A perfect mix of history, beauty, and relaxation. Highly recommended!
Anete S — Google review
Great place to visit while on Rhodes. There are beautiful wives all around, the ticket costs 3 euro. There is also beautiful bay that you can swim and dive. The best tip I can give you is to take a diving stuff and use it to see the underwater environment.
Mateusz S — Google review
Kallithea Springs is a beautiful place to visit. If you are in Faliraki it's only few bus stops ahead. Very beautiful view to the sea, nicely done gardens and lovely bay surrounded by bar, sunbeds and so on. Entrance is affordable. It is valuable as a short visit too. However many people stay for a full day. All facilities in place: toilets, changing cabins, restaurant and sunbeds. However prices to rent a sunbeds are €30 per day. You can avoid the rent by settling in at the mini beach of the bay.
Katerina D — Google review
If you sit at the restaurant, you don’t have to pay for lounge chairs. The lounge chair is very in price based on the distance from the water. first line is €50. Best to go in the morning as it gets very crowded and the afternoon. this place has a vibe and great music coming from the restaurant.
Milena R — Google review
This was a surprising visit near our hotel. Beautifully kept, great views (especially for influencers looking for a great photo location) and a seemingly nice located bar/restaurant, though we didn't get to try it. Definitely a must see if your in the area
Daniel B — Google review
Kallithea Springs is a nice place to look around, with beautifully maintained grounds and scenic surroundings. While it’s not particularly exciting or full of things to do, it does have a certain charm and could be a lovely spot for weddings or events. We climbed the nearby cliff rocks and were rewarded with some amazing views of the coastline. Overall, it’s a pleasant area to visit, but not especially spectacular.

Entrance fee: €5. (Free in the evening.) Free parking. All-day beach access. Kebab next to the parking lot. We were here on September 18th, the weather was excellent.
Katalin B — Google review
5€/adult and free for kids up to 12 y.o. Free for everyone after 20:00. Arrived almost at noon and managed to find parking spot, but there were only few spots left. Beautiful bay and building to enjoy breeze and shadow in hot day. For swimming and sunbathing this is an odd place, because even sun-beds are pricey there is no privacy, tourist and just passer by visitor are walking around everywhere(I was one of those tourists), therefore for some relaxing and more private setting i would recommend a different place. Cost are next level here, other comments stated sun-bend and restaurant prices.

Apollo Beach Hotel is a laid-back accommodation with a buffet restaurant and two bars, as well as an outdoor pool and tennis facilities. Situated on an enchanting beach surrounded by lush greenery, the hotel's two buildings are located on the east side of the island, just 400 meters from Faliraki village. It offers easy access to Afandou Golf Course and the town of Rhodes via public transportation. The rooms are spacious and clean, although some guests found the furniture slightly outdated.
The hotel is located on the beach, about 20 minutes drive from the airport, which is handy. It has plenty of space for everyone, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and a lot of sunbeds. We were given a free room upgrade, so our holiday began on a good note. The food was delicious: breakfast, lunch and dinner; the service was first class, especially the very chatty lady from the outside pool bar. I do recommend to anyone who willing to have a great holiday, peace of mind and good vibes. There is a lot to discover within an hour walk around the hotel, or if you fancy a drive, the whole island offers a lot to see.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in the first week of April, right at the beginning of the season. The staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was very clean, including the rooms, which were cozy and well-maintained. Each room had a kettle, mugs, tea and coffee, a small (empty) fridge, and a hairdryer. We stayed on a half-board basis. The food was varied and tasty, with plenty of options. Just a note: at dinner, only tap water is complimentary — all other drinks are for an extra charge. When we arrived, the hotel was still quite empty, but within a few days it began to fill up. Shops and beaches in the area were just starting to open and prepare for the season. Big plus is the ample parking space, most of it covered, which is a great advantage during the hot summer months. Highly recommended for a relaxing and comfortable stay!

The hotel offers a very comfortable and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. While the guest crowd tends to be a bit older, the overall vibe is calm and welcoming. What really stands out is the fantastic staff – always friendly, helpful, and professional. The food was also a highlight: fresh, varied, and delicious. If you're looking for a quiet place with great service and food, this hotel is a solid choice.

We even got a complimentary dinner from the hotel. The beachfront area is amazing, with it's green grass it feels so cool and not hot as if you were in the sand. The location is also great <5 mins from the center, has its own driveway so the hotel is not located on the street, which makes it quiet.

Our stay at Apollo Beach Hotel was truly wonderful. The rooms were nice and always kept clean, quiet enough for a relaxing holiday, and very close to the beach. The food was varied, the staff friendly, and the outdoor pool was both beautiful and spotless. Drinks at the bar were decent, and the atmosphere, especially in the evenings, was really enjoyable. I would also like to highlight someone in particular – a young lady from the Netherlands who worked with the little children during the day and also hosted the mini disco in the evenings. She is an extraordinary person: very patient, kind, and warm with the kids. I was traveling with my 2-year-old daughter who, at times, made a bit of a mess and threw toys around, yet this young lady was so sweet with her, played with her, and really entered her world. With us adults, she was also very friendly, sociable, and easy to talk to, which made us feel even more welcomed and comfortable during our stay.

Very cozy hotel, has everything you need! I really liked that the sunbeds are located on the grass, it's really convenient. Large pool, near which there are always free places. Sunset in the sea is wonderful, clean water. Special thanks to the restaurant manager Katerina for her warm approach and professionalism! Also a great animation team, almost every day there is petanque and darts. Thank you, we really liked it!

Had a lovely vacation at Apollo Beach hotel. The location is perfect, close to Faliraki where are many shops and restaurants and right on the shore of sandy beach. The rooms all have seaview or partial seaview. There are plenty of sunbeds, so you don’t have to stress about it. They also give you towels for the beach which is nice. There is also indoor pool which is nice when you don’t feel like going out to the sun. The only issue is that the indoor pool is 1.8m deep, so not suitable for people who cannot swim well. They do have a lifeguard there keeping and eye on the swimmers. It would be nice if there were swim aids available for children using the pool. The room was spacious and clean. With double doors it was relatively quiet and the noise from the hallway was not so loud. All the staff we met were very nice and friendly, specially the ones in the snack bar:) The food was good and was plenty to choose from. Beef at the dinner was really good:) It would be nice if free water in the carafe would be offered for half-board guests during dinner. Overall I’m very satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to anyone:)

We had the pleasure of staying at Apollo Beach for 9 nights in August. Brilliant staff, everyone was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Great location, right on the beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Good size rooms with amazing views and daily housekeeping. Food was lovely and always had a varied menu with Veg and Non-Veg options to cater for all. A special mention to Kyriaki (Reception) and Anxhela (Restaurant), you were both amazing and made our stay special! Highly recommended, great job Management & Staff.

A Snorkeling Paradise! 🌊🐠 Breathtaking scenery meets unforgettable underwater adventures at this iconic bay. The snorkeling is hands-down the best—vibrant fish dart around you in crystal-clear, calm waters, perfect for beginners and pros alike. Safe, serene, and straight out of a postcard, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a swim in nature’s aquarium. Pure magic! 🤿💙

Extraordinarily picturesque beach! A few restaurants there and a small free zone. There are less big rocks in the water on the left side. The bid ones on the right side make it sometimes hard to walk in the water. Great depth, making it suitable for snorkelling. Crystal clear water and clean beach.
Monica M — Google review
Paradise.. nothing less can be said for this dreamy hidden gem in the bay. We took the hiking trail from Faliraki to the bay. The view was breathtaking, the trail - kind of challenging, at times very narrow. Still saw many ppl were coming from there. The water was crystal, the rocks in the sea created so beautiful sceneries. The place is not very big, but sunbeds and umbrellas were placed all over it. However, you will get one if you go there earlier (we went there around 9 and there were plenty, by 10:30-11 most were taken). The cost is 30 euro for 2x sunbeds + umbrella, and I think 15 euro for 1x sunbed. There are a lot of rocks to the back of the beach and so many people were laying on them.
Rositsa K — Google review
What a clear sea, it’s amazing, here is in the my top 3 beach. Only negative side is very expensive sunbed. 2 bed & 1 umbrella is 30 €, but it’s not including anything. You can bring drink and food if you like, otherwise there is a chill restaurant. We came around 9 am, we picked up last beds, so need to come early. Don’t afraid to be late, there is many place to lay down with towel.
Umut M — Google review
Not a beach, just some paid 30€ umbrellas on the rocks where you'll have a hard time getting in the water. Which is dirty, overcrowded and really of no use. Time to time boats unload people making it even worse, but they're probably having a better time than people on land. Ladiko is one * better but still bad. These places are probably great off season when the money-making machine is gone. In high season they're only good to look at from afar. Water seems clean but on the rocks there's all kind of trash.

Water & Amusement Parks
Bloom Waterpark Watersports Rhodes is a top destination, boasting the title of one of Europe's largest waterparks. It offers an array of attractions such as slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers suitable for all ages. Safety is a priority with lifeguards stationed at each feature and dedicated areas for younger children. Visitors can also enjoy various water sports like jet-skiing with friendly staff and reasonable prices.
We had such a fun day at the water park on Agathi Beach in Rhodes! It’s the perfect spot for families, kids, and even adults who want to feel like kids again. The inflatable structures were super fun, safe, and well-maintained – we laughed non-stop jumping, climbing, and sliding into the sea. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making sure everyone was safe while having a great time. The beach itself is beautiful with shallow, clear waters – ideal for kids to play safely. Highly recommended for a day full of fun, laughs, and unforgettable memories with family or friends!
Stellitsa D — Google review
Great water park! Better than the smaller one down the beach. Only complaint is that the slides needed to be kept wet for easy, fast sliding without chafing. Non-participating family members can enjoy a lovely cocktail on a lounger nearby or go to the restaurant. We spent most of the day at this beach.
Jodi N — Google review
Very nice. 10 euros for an hour is a good price. An hour is a long time 🙂. The kids loved it, and it's on a beautiful sandy beach. No stones. And even our youngest, 5 years old, got to go on it.

Agia Agathi Beach, also known as Golden Sand Beach, is a family-friendly destination with clear and shallow waters, making it perfect for sun-lovers of all ages. Situated on the east coast of Rhodes, this once-hidden gem now attracts both locals and tourists. The beach offers golden sand, picturesque surroundings, and amenities such as parasol rentals and beachside tavernas.
Agathi Beach is a peaceful, quiet, and cozy little spot — perfect if you’re looking to escape the crowds. There are no sunbeds, no shops, just nature and a calm atmosphere. Everyone was simply lying on towels, enjoying the sun and the crystal-clear water. There’s plenty of parking, but be aware that the road down to the beach is quite bumpy— so drive carefully, especially if you have a rental car.
Aleksandra S — Google review
We were in Rhodes with our grandchildren. At first we went to the pebble beach in Gennadi. The children found it hard on the feet, so I searched for a sand beach. Google pointed us here. True, this beach is not "organized", no parasols or reclining chairs. But this is what makes it so appealing. The sea is warm and shallow, The kids loved it.
Daniel B — Google review
A gorgeous beach with thankfully no sunbeds to ruin it like most of the other beaches in Rhodes (please don’t bring them back). You just bring your own towel and umbrella and find a spot. The water is lovely and warm and clear and there is great snorkelling by the rocks. The castle on the way down to this beach is definitely worth a climb up to for great views.
Sian R — Google review
Stunning beach! If you land in Rhodes, Agathi Beach is a must! No umbrellas are available, but you don’t need them neither! The beach is windy and not too hot. I would recommend to get there early in the morning (around 8/8:30) to enjoy the beach and the sea alone by yourself. No bars or restaurants nearby, hence bringing the food/water by yourself is suggested. There are public showers to wash off the salt and a big free parking is available.
Alessandro T — Google review
One of the most beautiful sandy beach on the Rhodos island, the are no sun beds or any bars that I personally find very pleasing - it has it own “cool style” like it used to be in the past. Beautiful turquoise water, shallow next to the beach, children friendly. Easy access with the car
Aneta L — Google review
One of the best beaches in Rhodes. Clear water, sandy and not busy. No sunbeds but there is a big parking lot. 400-500 meters poor road conditions but totally worth
Aydan Y — Google review
one of the very few sandy beaches on Rhodes. the road is mainly large pot holes but we managed it several times in a Fiat panda. it's definitely worth it, beautiful sandy beach, shallow clear blue sea, so great for kids. take everything you need for the day as no facilities at all, which makes it even more special
Kelly G — Google review
The beach is beautiful! However, don’t believe in reviews from two years ago. There is nothing to support you nowadays. No water to buy, no sun bed, no food. Also if you don’t have a car, it is far from the bus stops on the main road. So if you like, come prepared with your stuff and enjoy this beautiful natural place

Lindos Acropolis

Ancient Ruins
Lindos Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a steep cliff with stunning sea views. It offers a glimpse into prehistoric sites such as the nearby Acropolis of Lindos and Rhodes, along with ancient Minoan artifacts dating back over 3,000 years. Nature lovers can explore the Valley of Butterflies and enjoy miles of sunny beaches.
Lindos Acropolis is a must-visit when on Rhodes. The combination of ancient ruins, dramatic cliffs and panoramic sea views is unforgettable. Tickets are 20 euros per adult and it's smart to buy them in advance to skip the line, we waited around 15 minutes. Along the way there are QR codes you can scan to buy tickets online, but if you're already close to the entrance, it might be quicker to just wait in line. The path up is steep and not secured with handrails, so be careful, especially with kids. Wear good shoes and bring a hat or cap, as it gets very hot during the day. Once at the top, you're rewarded with stunning views over Lindos Bay and the white town below. The site has some restored areas and informational signs. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds and the heat. A mix of history, nature and views that truly makes it one of the island’s highlights. Worth every step.
Miodrag J — Google review
The view and scenery were simply stunning!🤩the only complain comes from the route to the temple, it is quite difficult as the terrain was hard to walk and no safety rails whatsoever exists, lots of other people going. Anyway, I'd recommend this as one-time visit if above points are not blockers👍🏼tickets 20€/person at the gates
YArIk Y — Google review
The Acropolis itself is impressive and fascinating to explore, but for me the real highlight was the breathtaking view of the surroundings - the beaches, Lindos, and the mountains. From the top, the scenery is absolutely spectacular. We arrived right at 8:00 in the morning and were able to enjoy the site before it became crowded with other visitors. The walk up to the Acropolis is also very pleasant, offering beautiful side views of Lindos along the way. Tickets cost €20 per person, which may feel a little overpriced, but I would still highly recommend the experience - it’s definitely worth it.
Ajdin M — Google review
Beautiful place with stunning views over Lindos and the sea, definitely worth visiting! However, the €20 entrance fee felt a bit high, especially since there was no guide or detailed information to explain what you see. Even at the end of the season it was very crowded, with a long wait at the ticket office. Keep in mind there’s a steep walk with many steps, so bring water and good shoes. Best to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat and the crowds.
Chara T — Google review
We visited in low season (end of October) and the wait was under 10 mins. This is an incredible archeological site in a beautiful location. Watch your step as we saw a couple of people slip and trip (they do warn you to take care). Well worth the visit. Fresh orange juice available in the cafe with a wonderful view.
Jo C — Google review
Looming over the town of Lindos, this historic fortified citadel holds several ancient structures, including the Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, The Castle of the Knights of St John, and an amphitheater. The acropolis offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and the town below. Donkey rides are a traditional mode of transport here and remain a popular way of climbing the village's steep hills. On the way up, you'll pass by white-washed houses, quaint shops, and restaurants offering traditional Greek fare. Lindos is a 30-mile bus ride from Rhodes Town, and you'll need to purchase a ticket to enter the acropolis. The Acropolis of Lindos is a breathtaking historical site with stunning views, although many reviews highlight the steep climb and narrow paths. Visitors frequently mention the high entry fee and crowds, which can detract from the experience, especially during the midday heat. It's best to visit early or late in the day to avoid these issues. While the site is popular among history buffs and photographers, reviewers advise caution for families with young children and those with mobility challenges.
Keith D — Google review
What an absolutely gorgeous place. Please do not let the €20 entrance and walk up the stairs deter you from coming. This is a very well preserved and gorgeous historical site. Yes the Greek heat and the climb will tire you out but it is absolutely worth the views and the feel of history. Plus you can always get a beer on the way down there are plenty of places available in the town :)
Aarush A — Google review
Enjoyable morning visiting the Lindos Acropolis. Very busy walking up the hill, through the town and the pebble paths can be slippy in places but its worth the walk. There is a much quieter and less steep path for a pretty walk back down with good views of the harbour and back up at the Acropolis.

Lindos Beach is a popular destination located in a cove with a long stretch of sandy shoreline, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and boating. It competes for attention with the ancient Acropolis of Lindos standing above it and the charming whitewashed houses cascading down the hillside. The beach offers fluffy yellow sand and clear waters ideal for families due to its shallow depth. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as bathrooms, showers, changing facilities, and sun loungers.
This sandy gem tucked in a small bay offers stunning views—especially with the ancient Acropolis towering above. The scenery is pure magic! For just €20, you get two sunbeds and a parasol (a fair price for the location). Clean showers are conveniently placed around the bay, and there’s no shortage of great restaurants and shops nearby for snacks or full meals. Ideal for sunbathing, swimming, or just soaking up the dreamy Greek vibes. A must-visit in Rhodes! ⭐️
Oussama T — Google review
Overcrowded, no free zone, expensive umbrellas, tons of boats everywhere. Actually clean water if you never go out of it. Would not return. Probably better to visit by boat so you don't go near the beach. Sad thing is I'd rate it 5* if I came off season, probably.
Marin K — Google review
We enjoyed very much this beach due to its calm water, nice sand, almost no waves and because it was close to facilities. The parking if you are lucky, is just on the edge of the beach. Be careful, you must park in the blue zone, and to pay 7€/day. But be there early because the parking is limited
Andrei B — Google review
Pallas beach across the little bay is a hard act to follow, but the Town Beach has really upped the ante since my last visit. There are 2 roads down to the beach. The first takes you straight to the beach next to 2 tavernas. The 2nd road is longer but not as steep and ends at a pretty little village area on the beach. There are now plenty of places to eat ( all friendly), sunbeds and toilets. I spotted 3 showers and changing cubicles. The water is clear with a very gradual drop off, very safe. There's also a lifeguard tower now. The sunbeds are €20 to €30 for 2. If you eat at the wedding venue taverna the beds are free. There are also electric cart taxis to get you there and back. Great day out.

Great place to swim. Sand lovers will really like it. Free parking and free use of the beach. Highly recommend you guys to check this beautiful place out.

Tucked away at the base of Lindos township is Pallas beach. Quite nice - with 2 access roads, although a little steep. Lots of cafes etc to be found nearby, plus sunbeds and toilets available.
Norm P — Google review
Lindos, the place where, from a distance, everything looks perfect. Up close… not quite the same story. Let’s take them one by one. 1. The village. From afar, it looks peaceful, authentic, almost like a postcard from “the good old Greece.” Step inside, though, and the postcard turns into a bazaar: narrow streets crammed with stalls and souvenir shops (most of them peddling glittery plastic “treasures” at luxury-boutique prices). Add in the endless flow of tourists and you get more chaos than charm. As for the taverns? Well, they’re packed to the brim and the prices are way above the prices charged in Rhodes town, for example. 2. The medieval castle and acropolis ruins. From below, the sight is trully breathtaking. But after queuing for hours, the magic evaporates fast. Inside, the “restorations” look like the backdrop of a student film project with a very, very limited budget. 3. St. Paul’s Beach (Paralia Agios Pavlos). Famous, photogenic, social-media-perfect… if you only look at it from above. On the ground, though, it’s a different picture: a tiny strip of sand where every square centimeter is claimed, boats that stir up mud right next to swimmers, and exorbitant prices for the sunbeds (starting from 50-60 euro and reaching well over 100 euro). 4. The main beach of Lindos (split into Lindos Beach and Pallas Beach). Again, from the fortress, the bay looks like a scene painted by an impressionist artist: calm water, boats gliding in and out. But go down and reality paints in darker colors: murky water, noise everywhere, bodies crammed together like sardines, and, yes, the ever-present overpriced sunbeds. 5. And, even if we had accepted all of the above, the sight of dozens of exhausted, thirsty donkeys and mules forced to carry tourists under a blazing 40-degree sun was more than enough to ruin the entire experience.
Catalin H — Google review
Really nice beaches I would advise to hire a boat out for 2 to 3 hours More of a discount if you take it out more hours give you an opportunity to enjoy some snorkelling around different bases my experience this is better than actually going on a tour packed boat with other people . Plus the kids get to build their confidence jumping in and out of the sea and also experiencing driving about.

Sights & Landmarks
Perched on the highest point of Lindos, overlooking the Aegean Sea, the Church of the Holy Virgin (Panagia) is a remarkable historical and religious landmark. Dating back to the 14th century, this Greek Orthodox church showcases exquisite Byzantine architecture with its cruciform shape and central dome. Adorned with ancient frescoes and mosaics, it offers visitors a glimpse into its rich history. The adjacent courtyard provides stunning views of the towering campanile tower.
A really beautiful tall bell is hosted by this Church in the begining of the old town. It's been an iconic symbol of this town since like forever as people seem to love tall old buildings I guess 😂. There are some ridiculous rules like not wearing shorts snd stuff which I don't get and I believe a saw a sign of an entry fee which is also ridiculous. During the time of the pandemic, guided tours can't be hosted in this site as stated by the church.

The Church of the Holy Virgin (Panagia) in Lindos on Rhodes, Greece, has a stone bell tower. The church dates from 1300. It was rebuilt in the late 15th century by the Knights of the Order of St. John and most recently in 1927.

Wonderful small bay with sunloungers and a reastaurant renowned for fresh fish. Rocky cover area great for snorkelling. St Pauls Bay shaped like a heart with many people falling in love (and marrying) here. It offers luxury sunbeds and fine dining options.

Beautiful when seen from afar, not a good place to be at all. Water is almost muddy from all the SPF, lots of rocks, no free zones, everything is occupied and overcrowded. Not sure how this place is promoted as one of the best in Rhodos
Marin K — Google review
The bay is beautiful and worth a visit, but here are a few points to keep in mind so you can make the most of your time here: the sun beds are very expensive, up to 5x more than in other beaches around the island. You can, however, avoid them if you bring your own beach towel, but then you should arrive no later than 11:00 (in July/August make it 10:30), as the beach itself is very narrow and mostly taken by the expensive sun beds, so finding a spot might be tricky. Even though the bay is beautiful, for snorkeling you will find it is not as clear as other beaches around the island. The bay can be accessed by boat, car or public transport, and there is a paid parking facility in the premises.

There is a 60+ EUR fee for sunbeds. Yes it might be too much when you think you usually pay nothing or less across other Greek islands/beaches but it’s definitely worth it. And when you think about it, it’s not even too much. The staff is friendly (like always) and you get good service (like always).

Marathounda Bay is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled in Lindos, this beautiful beach features stunning crystal-clear waters and an inviting sandy shoreline, perfect for sunbathing or taking a refreshing dip. The beach is relatively quiet, making it ideal for those seeking solitude amidst nature's beauty.
In my opinion, it's the best beach on Symi that you can access with car or by foot. Crystal clear turquoise water and an easy atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back.

Small and quiet beach. Taverna on the beach that serves reasonable food. The beach has very large stones that makes walking agony in bare feet. Getting into and out of the sea is so sore, you will stay in the sea longer than planned as you'll dread getting out. Lots of friendly goats who will come and say hello and look for food. Totally harmless and will be stroked or shooed easily. Some natural shade and free sun loungers

Crystal clear cool water, very calm. Rocky beach, you will require water shoes. Definitely the pick of all the beaches available. two food options available cafe kyma, very chilled and friendly staff, speaks English so very easy to communicate, and a Greek restaurant communication was a little difficult, and seemed a little grumpy, but food is very good. Sun beds available free of charge. Toilets are clean and available.

Ruined by motor boats mooring within meters from the beach. The mayor is benefiting from this hence this is continued to be allowed despite the numerous reports and complaints from locals and tourists to the Symi city hall who continues to tolerate instead of imposing fines

Great experience on the beach surrounded by the goats it was funny and the sea was just beautiful I recommend wearing some beach shoes as the pebbles are Slippy under the water. Don't go if you're pathetic and squeamish about the goats walking around you.

Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael Panormitis

The Holy Monastery of the Taxiarch Michael Panormitis is a stunning and historic site dedicated to Archangel Michael. Rebuilt in 1783, this monastery features elaborate frescoes and intricate woodwork that leave visitors in awe. Accessible by ferry from Rhodes harbor, a visit to the monastery includes a stop at Symi Island where you can explore the town and enjoy breathtaking views.
Nice and peaceful monastery but if you're missing it or won't be able to visit - you're not missing all that much. There is almost nothing else here. If you have more time on Symi town, you can get a bus, it's 30 minutes away, but not sure how worth unless you're a believer and want to pay respects to the holy icon. There is a small and interesting museum in the back, entrance fee was 1.5 euro. I was impressed by the candle lights behind the church also. Not as touristy as you'd expect given the amount of people entering the place. There is usually a line for buying candles, not for entering the church. 3-40 minutes for everything.
Marin K — Google review
The chapel or monastery was cool. There were two small museums that together cost 1.5 euros to enter. It seemed that not many opted to enter the museums when we were there. The museums were a bit underwhelming but I'm still glad to have seen it.
MB — Google review
We visited the monastery as part of a boat trip to the island. It was a short stop, but very beautiful and peaceful. An added bonus of being able to watch sea turtles made it all the more worthwhile.
KM D — Google review
A must see if you're traveling to Symi. Easy to reach in every vehicle(seen a lot of bikers on the way)via a very good asphalted road that offers you the opportunity to take some pitoresque photos.

Sacred monastery where we celebrated a millstone birthday for my father in law. Sure, it was 100 degrees that day and we were staying on the other side of the island, but we made the pilgrimage to give thanks and again acknowledge that everything we have is gifted from and for the glory of God! Παναγιά μαζί μας!

This monastery was a very important place for me to visit. And I am so glad I did it’s so beautiful and a peaceful place

Good bus trip from Symi port, book through Dodekanisos ferry from Rhodes town. 20 minutes each way and you have 1hr to visit which was enough to walk around and have a drink the cafe next door.
Tim E — Google review
Very quiet area, church looks simple on the outside but deceptive, it’s incredible inside, the most detailed church I’ve seen in Greece, literally everything was detailed, little cafe available nearby and a bakery where they make delicious goods. This was included on a symi island tour and I thought it was worth it

The hotel offers exceptional service and top-notch amenities including complimentary internet access and parking. A delightful breakfast is served on-site, and guests can also indulge in scrumptious meals during their stay. The nearby Arkeftas beach provides a serene escape with crystal clear waters away from the crowds, perfect for watching the sunset.
Second time staying here, and it won't be the last! Firstly, the location is amazing, there are lots of great restaurants and bars in the area, and a short walk to the beach. The staff are incredible, friendly, and welcoming and treat you like family. The rooms are clean and tidy, the cleaning staff are brilliant and always keep the rooms in a clean manner. The pool and poll bar area is great for kids and families. Honestly, amazing value for money.

It was a good hotel. The room was large and spacious, with a big bathtub where you could even lie down. There was also a spacious balcony where we had breakfast and dinner. There are three beds in each room. The hotel parking was excellent. The location in the village was convenient, although it was a bit of a walk to the sea — but we managed. We didn’t use the hotel pool or restaurant, as we preferred to go to other restaurants. One of the best features was the funicular in the hotel, which made it much easier to go up in the hot weather. The heat in this part of Rhodes feels especially strong, with no wind at all. Next time, we will probably stay in another part of the island where it’s not as hot.
Green T — Google review
Just come back from staying here and we had the best time. Staff in the reception were very polite and very helpful. Even helped bring out bags to our room as we are a family of four and a buggy. Rooms are dated but has everything you need and very clean. Maids came in 6 days a week. Pool bar staff are very kind and helpful the breakfast staff especially they made my children feel very at home and included everyone and food standard was very good as well! When we go back we will deffo be going here again
Sophie G — Google review
I have been coming to this hotel almost everyday because of the service and pool, I am not staying in the hotel so will not be talking about the rooms. The pools are always clean and not too cold, the water fountains/jets at the top pool are fantastic, a note to not stand under them between 11:30-12:00, 14:30-1500 and 17:00-17:30 as these are the times they're active. The staff are fantastic and remember your usual order, at this point I don't even need to order they come to the table and just know what I want. The sunbeds seem to be new and extremely comfortable, they're clean and almost memory foam like. As I said I'm not staying in this hotel but my holiday isn't even over and have already booked to stay here next year so I will be able to review the rooms then.
Lunatic S — Google review
Totally met our expectations. Having a choice of pools was great and was never too busy to get loungers in October. Was on a package deal which I suspect always means you'll be in the apartments up the back, up 85 steps to ours although the mini funicular could cut some of those out if required. Might not suit everyone to get up there but the views out across the bay were superb
Gary B — Google review
Perfect location right in the middle of the resort. Lovely clean rooms, serviced every day. Plenty of clean towels. Hairdryer in the bathroom but they do not supply shower gel or shampoo etc. Air con in the rooms works well. Very comfy, good quality sun loungers, more like a mattress than the cheap mesh ones others use. Also there are a lot of them, we were never stuck trying to find one. They don't allow reservations of beds before 9am which is a nice touch, unattended towels are removed. The poolside bar is very good and reasonably priced. Plenty of choice for breakfast and snacks. The food is very good and the portions are generous. They do the usual English breakfast but also have plenty of healthy options with greek yoghurt and fruit etc. The staff are all really friendly. 2 pools and a separate shallow kids pool. At the front of the hotel they have a bar and a rooftop restaurant with fantastic views. Lovely place to stay. Can't fault it. Next door is a supermarket which is really handy too, owned by the same people I think.

My first time in Rhodes. The room was ok, housekeeping was great. The lift broke down 3 days out of 10. Difficult for older people climbing up the hill in the heat. No help offered by the hotel. Would not stay here again because of this.

Archaeological Site of Kamiros

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Archaeological Site of Kamiros is a must-visit for those interested in ancient history. It was one of the three city-states of ancient Rhodes and boasts impressively preserved ruins dating back to the 3rd century B.C. The site offers stunning views of Rhodes' west coast from the Acropolis at the top of the hill. Visitors can explore the expansive area with informative boards strategically placed throughout, providing insights into daily life in Hellenistic houses and temples.
Really incredible experience. Worth the drive. It's extremely well preserved & I enjoyed the descriptive signboards. Only downside is that the toilets could be cleaned & better maintained for the price of €10.
Vicki F — Google review
Kameiros was one of the major cities of the island, the other two being Lindos and Ialyssos, and all of three being of Dorian (a major ancient Greek tribe) origin, whose coalition built the city of Rhodes in the late 5th century BC, a polis that evolved into a major regional player in the ancient world. Though the building of Rhodes naturally shifted much of the interest of the local population there, the city of Kameiros remained in use for approximately another millenia. Its disuse after that and its distance from urban centers that evolved significantly in the following ages left it considerably well preserved. The outline of the city and most of its buildings is quite discernable. Thus, though not even nearly as spectacular as Lindos, it is well worth a visit. The ascent is much less tiresome, the ruins are impressive, and the view is wonderful.
George S — Google review
Even after a thousand years, you'll find fascinating remains of a sophisticated culture here. This place is huge, with many spots to explore. It's truly breathtaking what the people of Rhodes were able to accomplish so many years ago. The entrance fee was €10, but considering what you'll see, it's reasonable. Parking was free.
František T — Google review
Site was nearly empty 2 hours before closing, it has a bit of an incline but easily walkable and plenty of signs around to explain what parts of the city you’re looking at. Convenient free parking lot on site available. There is toilets and a little cafe on site as well.
Cathy M — Google review
One of the best sites I’ve ever been. And I’ve been to many, because I’m an ancient historian. ;) Love how you could see the layout of the town and how the cisterns worked back in the day. The view is stunning. Must see when you’re in Rhodes. Very friendly people who work there as well.
Robert V — Google review
Cool ancient place with lovely cafe! The entrance cost 10€ per adult, kids and students free entry.
Adrian S — Google review
First disappointment is when the online price shows 6euro, but the at the cashiers its now 10 euro. While its an important site I'm not sure there's enought added value for the new fee. Little more remains than ruins of lower walls of buildings. its an impressive location with ocean view and the complex gives a good overall idea of the spread of the ancient village. I would have expected a small museum that demonstrated in 3D what the structures looked like and any of the decorative element. If you've seen the major sites and have extra time, you could come here and spend half an hour walking around.
Tezza J — Google review
Perfect archeological site with a walk around the entire excavation, focus is on the site and nothing else - just as it should be. Small café and plenty of parking onsite although it was very quiet late September.

Profitis Ilias, the second highest mountain in Rhodes, is a popular destination for mountaineers, families, and nature enthusiasts. The lush winding roads leading to its peak offer stunning panoramic views of the island. The mountain is home to a historic monastery showcasing relics and surrounded by pine forests where foxes and deer roam. Visitors can also explore abandoned ruins and two intact chalet-style hotels on the mountain.

We took a walk from Salakos, a bit demanding hike, but can be done in hour or two depending on your speed. After that, climb up to so called "Mussolini vila" and take left path for tour around the mountain. Views are spectacular and worth every step. I have no idea about the church, even the gates were locked.

Kritinia Castle

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Historical landmark
Perched on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea, Kritinia Castle, also known as Kastello to locals, is a historic Venetian/Byzantine castle dating back to 1472. Although now in ruins, the castle still showcases its former grandeur. Visitors can reach the site by taking a bus to Kritinia and walking or driving up the dirt track.
Rather remote, but beautiful little ruin of a castle that must have been very impressive in the past. From the top of the ruin you have an impressive view into the bay and the small islands in the vicinity. On a clear day you can see the coastline of Turkey in the distance. In the public section there is no roof structure left, so in the very unlikely event of rainfall you would not have any meaningful cover. Great that this precious spot is free of charge.
MC B — Google review
While driving around the island, we noticed signs pointing to the castle ruins and decided to make a spontaneous detour. The road leading up to the site is mostly tarmac and fairly accessible, with just a few short but steep sections near the top. Our small rental car managed it with no issues. There’s a free car park right by the castle that can hold around 15 cars, which was a nice bonus. Entry to the ruins is also free, accessed via a set of built steps. Just a note – not suitable for a wheelchair access, unfortunately. Once you reach the top, the views are absolutely breathtaking and make the short trek well worth it. We also noticed a small café nearby, but we didn’t stop in so can’t comment on the food or service. Overall, it’s a great little stop if you’re exploring the island – highly recommended if you’ve got an hour to spare and fancy a bita bit of history paired with stunning scenery.
Mon D — Google review
The castle is a ruin. It offers beautiful views and even though it was a long drive from my hotel we made it into a day trip and saw other things on the way. There is plenty of space for parking very close to the castle, a small cafe at the bottom of the hill, quite easily accessible, probably not for wheelchair or a pram. Half an hour was enough for this attraction.
B K — Google review
We stumbled across this place by chance but we loved it. There are two car parks and a small café for a quick refreshment after the walk back down! Gorgeous views, just make sure you're wearing proper shoes
Rebeca — Google review
Amazing place. I really like someone make it good enough for tourist .Amazing views. Free access.Parking available. There are two ways to go to the castle. Stairs available. Worth to go.
Kla F — Google review
Magnificent castle on a hill with stunning views of the sea. You can visit it for free. It is worth wearing proper shoes, as the castle ruins are a bit difficult to walk through.
Joonas T — Google review
This place was amazing. Probably my favourite place on the entire island, especially going for sunset. I had the entire place to myself (until the very end when someone else came for sunet too), and the place is just peaceful. It appears there used to be a cost for the castle, as there's an abandoned ticket booth at the gate, but it's free entry. The place is in ruins, but it's still worth the visit.
Adam O — Google review
The castle in comparison to others available on the island is quite small however with only a small incline to the top it is well worth the trip as the views are incomparable on a clear day being able to see Sami in the distance is also a welcome treat. A moderate amount of parking is available a A refreshment bar for drinks and such is also available. I hadn’t noticed any toilets.

Mojito Beach Bar is a laid-back spot located in the charming village of Lahania on the south coast of Rhodes Island. The bar exudes a relaxed Goan atmosphere and offers a family-friendly environment with various facilities at reasonable prices. It's known for its great music, delicious dishes, and frequent evening events such as the famous Mojito BBQ and Latin Live band night. Additionally, there are rooms available for those who want to extend their stay in this hidden paradise.
We had a great stay here, the rooms were lovely and clean. The beach is very close and the water is clean and refreshing, very nice to cool down when it gets hot during the day. Just for extra info, the loungers are 25€ (20 if you are a guest in the rooms), you can also get beach huts for 80 or 120€ (one of the pictures) which would be great for small groups so everyone can stay together instead of on separate loungers. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bar has live music on Thursdays and other days it has a great playlist overall. The food is yummy and very filling. It was a wonderful and exactly what we wanted, a little remote getaway but still lively - not lonely.
Lija S — Google review
Amazing beach bar! Really cool location with chill music piped onto the beach. Great food with excellent service and cute private areas dotted around. Some lovely spaces to hire for the day/night too with beds and seating areas - About €150 I believe, sun beds €25 for 2. Just a really lovely place to spend a day out just a few hours 😎
Gary S — Google review
Great location, superb, tranquil house music in the background. You can order food and drinks directly from your sunbed via an app! The staff is so lovely and welcoming. The sea is great, BUT unfortunately, not so much to see if you're snorkeling. Since it's sand and not cliffs, rocks. So just a couple of fish. But it's great if you're just going for a swim.
C K — Google review
The beach at the bar was the most beautiful, best and cleanest we have ever been to during our holiday. It was our favourite place. An umbrella and two sunbeds cost 25 euros. The bar has a wide selection, the service is fast and perfect. I recommend that they show the beach on Google Maps so everyone can find it!
Gabriella S — Google review
A very beautiful beach with a well-kept beach bar and a particularly peaceful atmosphere. It’s an ideal choice for families with children, as well as for anyone looking to relax away from the crowds. The food they offer is good and well-prepared, while their drinks are tasty and refreshing. In addition, the beach itself is very clean, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. A place truly worth visiting for calm and pleasant moments by the sea.
Elpida E — Google review
This place was recommended to us by a local resident that moved from the UK and lived on Rhodes for 40 years. She was absolutely right to recommend here! Food was perfect, staff were very friendly and the beach was fantastic. Yes the cocktails were a little overpriced at €22 for a mojito, but that’s literally the only point to make. Loved it, will be back soon! 😍
Ben H — Google review
I don’t know why it comes up as a hotel review on google, but the mojito bar was very good… well… bar. Located in no man’s land you need a car to get there - but the beach is absolutely worth it. Drinks were also good albeit a bit on the pricier side. Lovely staff.

Rhodescape Park is nestled within a protected area that forms part of the Natura 2000 network. The park, established by nature enthusiasts, embodies a commitment to sustainable tourism with its wooden infrastructure and diverse range of activities. Visitors can enjoy an array of experiences such as archery, horseback riding, canoeing, biking, and even zip lining over the picturesque lake. Additionally, the park includes a charming café for guests to relax and unwind amidst the natural surroundings.
I was many times on this place. Nice people. We rented the pedal boat. The only thing I believe is over priced is the zip line. For such a short distance suppose to be less. I have been in many places with zip line and longer and less money. But in rest the place is heaven.
Alex L — Google review
We had some time to kill before our evening flight so we found this place through Google Maps and honestly, we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived there and it was practically empty, which meant peace and quiet in nature. The owner (I assume) was super friendly and always there should we need any help. We took the paddle boat out for half an hour or so with our coffees and then did some archery as well. The scenery is gorgeous and this place is full of potential; I can only imagine how much kids must enjoy it here (I know we, as grown adults, sure did)

great place to spend a few hours with energetic children! you can do different activities here for little money, away from the many tourists, close to nature. you can have a drink or eat an ice cream in warm weather. we also had a very warm and friendly welcome by the people who work there. for us it was a great day! In some places there were a lot of small flies, but that's just the way it is in nature.

We travelled to Rhodescape park for a day out by lake apolakkia, a really beautiful lake where you can hire pedal boats and canoes. The kids loved swimming in the lake and the elder members of our party enjoyed sitting down and reading in the seating area overlooking the lake. We also did the zipline (€20pp for 2 goes) and archery(€5pp) and the kids enjoyed the climbing wall(€5pp). They also have a small shack serving food, drinks, and ice cream. The food menu is limited, but the burgers and chips we had were very nice and very good value at a price of €9.50. The staff were so good with the kids. We planned to spend about 3 hours there but was there from 10.30am - 6pm, a really fun day out.

had an absolutely amazing experience at Rhodescape Adventure Park! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendliest and most genuine people – they made us feel safe, comfortable, and truly appreciated. The park is surrounded by breathtaking mountains and untouched nature. The view is simply beyond words – peaceful, majestic, and energizing all at once. It's the perfect escape into nature. All the activities were perfectly organized, with high-quality equipment and passionate, professional guides. Everything is done with great care and heart — you can really feel it. And one of the sweetest surprises? The adorable dogs and cats roaming freely around the park! They're clearly loved and cared for, a true sign that the people here have kind and generous souls. 🐶🐱 Whether you're looking for adventure or just a peaceful day surrounded by nature and good-hearted people, this place is a hidden gem. I couldn't recommend it more! 🌄🌿✨

We had some food Greek salad and cheese toasties also really lovely food. Honestly could not fault this this place. The views are amazing also. Would highly recommended with or without kids 👌

We visited here during our holiday and it was one of the highlights. The lake and surrounding area is beautiful but it is the people working there who made our day as a good as it was. They were simply brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. We did the kayaking initially. The water during July is refreshing but not cold. The levels were low but there was still plenty of area to move around and we had grebes popping up and down near our kayak. The price is very reasonable too. We had two children with us who both did the climbing wall. George was amazing with the kids and very patient. They both loved the experience and were very proud they reached the top. We had drinks and some snacks while there. These were good. The menu is limited but that wasn't an issue given we were only having snacks. There were plenty of options on drinks. Most of all, it was very relaxed. We were told it is for travellers, rather than tourists which is an excellent way to put it. There was no pressure for anything and you can do everything at your own pace. 100% recommended for anyone wanting something a bit different to sand and sea or something calmer.

Fourni Beach is a secluded and unspoiled gem tucked below Monolithos village on the island of Rhodes. It's a tiny haven known mostly to locals, with lively waves breaking onto the shingle and pebble shoreline. The beach offers clear blue waters, caves, rocks to explore, and striking boulders at the northern end providing shade. This wild and secluded spot is perfect for those seeking a romantic getaway or a dream holiday for two amidst its beautiful hilly landscape.
The road down to the beach is a bit sketchy and narrow but it’s worth it . We drove slow 15-20 km/h and let other drivers pass. We enjoyed a lot and the wave is very fun . The water gets deep fast. Pebble mixed with sand. There is a “Kantine” renting beds and umbrellas but we brought our own. Highly recommended, we want to go again tomorrow.

A bit challenging to get here. Driving down the mountain (Serpentines) with some questionable corners. Arriving at the beach there are plenty of parking spots. Sunbed costs for 1 Person €6, for 2 its €12. The foodtruck sells Drinks and Sandwiches ... Beach consists mainly of small Stones and water gets deep fast. Not a lot of people coming here...
Nico S — Google review
This beach is a true paradise, located far from civilization nestled beneath rolling hills. Despite its remote location, it’s easily accessible by car with parking right next to the beach - just follow your GPS. We recommend taking a smaller car with a strong engine for the drive. The beach is friendly and uncrowded with beautiful pebbles and stunning azure waters. The waves are quite large, so bring an inflatable ring if you want to enjoy riding them! Thanks to the location and windy conditions, you won’t feel overwhelmed by the heat even on hot days. Two sun loungers with umbrellas cost €12, which is a very fair price. The beach also has proper facilities including toilets, changing rooms, and a small taverna where they cook and serve honest, quality food at reasonable prices. The setting is absolutely idyllic - perfect for those seeking a peaceful beach experience away from crowded tourist spots. This place offers everything you need for a relaxing day by the sea without the commercialized atmosphere found at more popular beaches. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Greek beach experience!

Very nice beach away from busy tourist spots. Quiet, secluded beach with all necessary facilities - food truck. I recommend arriving early - before 9:30 to enjoy peaceful morning in an empty beach. Sunbeds were 12 eur for a pair with umbrella. Easy to find and easy to access - nice winding asfalt road leading to the beach.

If you want a beautiful beach, that is not crowded, fournoi is great. Most of the time you will find waves, but the water is clear and the scenery is very beautiful. The road to the beach is pretty good, with asphalt and the view is amazing. Also, the canteen has all the essentials including snacks like burger, sandwiches etc. totally recommended.

The small road to get there is not accessible for buses. Hence, there are only few tourists. A nice calm beach to join the waves (due to the west wind) and sunset. There is a small beach bar and a shower. Plenty of parking spaces.

Wow, For me, the best beach in rhodes, Very quiet and laid back. Some sun beds, adorable cantina And a big plus of a secret secluded beach a short hike distance
KIKO B — Google review
Come here if you want to away from the crowds. Be sure to bring your own umbrella for some shades, if not come early to get the sun-beds (we paid €12 for two sun-beds). You can also do small walk to the caves. Mostly locals who visited the beach and some tourists. Food truck was nice to get cold beverages and some snacks.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Castle of Monolithos, situated in the village of Monolithos on the island of Rhodes, Greece, is a 15th-century fortress perched atop a 240-meter rock. It offers picturesque views of the sea and surrounding landscape. The castle was strategically built by the Knights to control the sea and protect against pirate raids. Visitors can explore its ruins, including St. Panteleimon's Church and rescued cisterns.
I really liked this place. Its a small church type building on the top of rock/ cliff. It's a steady trek up the carved steps, not easy, but well worth the effort. The views are spectacular. Sheers drops can make you feel dizzy.... we went on a wet day and were at times in the clouds its that high up. No charge to enter, plenty of free parking. The surrounding area is made of pine trees with the most beautiful smell.... definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely stunning views. Easily the best views over the mountains we’ve seen so far in Rhodes. Church is tiny but nice, but you go here for the view. Steepish climb up, but easily doable, you’d want decent shoes on. Nice little cafe at the bottom. But tight on parking but we found a spot easy enough. No charge to park or enter. Drive over is pleasant winding through the mountains. Very glad we made the effort to come

we went at 9am, so cooler & with the steep uneven steps it was definitely worth it, nobody else around. The church within the remains of the castle is beautiful & there is a pile of blank paper & pens/pencils to leave your message. amazing views from several locations. probably not recommend for people with mobility issues of small children as no handrail up the path.

Definitely worth the drive if you're on the south east coast of the Island. Time it right (sunset) and you're in for a treat! Simply a stunning location that won't fail to impress and awe you. There's a small shop at the base for drinks and snack food. Plenty of area to park. Restaurants on the way back through the village were largely empty when we visited. It's a dark drive back if you go for sunset so be prepared for Deer and Rabbits to jump out.

A truly unique place for pictures! The views from the castle are absolutely stunning, with the sea and mountains creating an unforgettable backdrop. Perfect spot for photography and a must-visit on Rhodes

Breathtaking views at the top. Old ruins and a lovely little chapel. No cost all free, park at the bottom and its a 5 minute walk up steps to the top.
Nikthegame75 — Google review
Monolithos Castle is one of the most beautifully located spots on Rhodes! 🏰 The drive is easy, with a parking area right near the entrance, and the visit itself is completely free. It’s worth climbing to the top for breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea – perfect for taking photos. Inside the ruins, there is a small church of St. Panteleimon, which you can step into. The whole place has a peaceful, authentic atmosphere. The walk up isn’t long or too steep, so it’s accessible for most visitors. I highly recommend this place to anyone exploring the western side of the island – a perfect mix of history, nature, and stunning scenery.

Stunning views and peaceful atmosphere! The Castle of Monolithos may be in ruins, but its clifftop location offers incredible scenery, especially at sunset. A short hike leads to breathtaking vistas and a charming little chapel. Absolutely worth a visit!

Prasonisi Beach

Prasonisi Beach, located at the southernmost end of Rhodes, is a haven for water sports enthusiasts. The beach offers both calm and windy sides, making it perfect for activities like surfing, kiteboarding, and windsurfing. However, it's not just for thrill-seekers; the sandy shores and shallow waters also make it ideal for relaxation and swimming.
This beach gets a 5-star rating from me. The sand is incredibly soft, and there are no stones, seaweed, or debris in the sea. It is quite windy, so I had to cover my sensitive ears, but the stunning views and beautiful sand made it well worth the visit. It's a must-see if you're staying in the southern part of Rhodes. From Gennadi, it was an easy and enjoyable 20-minute drive. There are restaurants and a kiosk where you can grab takeaway food. We had a lovely afternoon here with the kids.

The beach is amaazing! We spent the whole day there. Watching surfers on both sides is spectacular, especially the kitesurfers. Though if you are a surfer yourself, might be crowded. The photos are late September. There are sunbeds on the Mediterranean part to the left side and cost 25€/set. Had lunch at Lighthouse Tavern, where the food was great. No need to climb the hill, nothing much there. Maybe just a bit for the view. On the end of second hill is a lighthouse, but not worth the climb.

Ladies and gentleman this is one of the most beautiful with extreme potential beach ever in Rodos and Grecee. It packed all the qualities for an exquisite beach. The only minus is the wind that can sometime can bother you and the distance. And oh my God the sand is one of the finest ever. Anyway this is a must to be visited beach in Rodos. Sun beds available and lots of restaurants and space to park. Heaven.
Silviu B — Google review
September 2025 visit. A lovely sandy beach with good facilities and free parking on the beach. There is a tarmac easy road to get there. There are sunbeds on the Mediterranean side which are a bit pricey at €25 considering there is no bar or table service. The beds are basic unpadded ones so not too comfortable but it a nice clean beach nonetheless. I would visit again
Ashley B — Google review
This is an amazing spot for wind powered water sports. Because of the two sides of the beach you have an option to go for flat or wavy waters all the time and there is fantastic wind most of the time. There is good reason windsurfers, wingfoilers and kiters come from all over Europe. It is a bit of a drive about 90 minutes) if you are staying near Rhodes town so if someone plans to spend a few days there best to find a place to stay in the nearby villages. There are several watersports schools there and you can rent all the stuff you need. Totally worth it!

Unique and amazing place where two sea merge. In one side you meet stormy sea in another comparative quite. Its a paradise of cauldrons, but its possible to just swimm. Highly recommend to visit and feel the spirit.
Darius S — Google review
A beautiful spot where two seas meet: the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. A great place for a walk, windsurfing or kites. Not suitable for casual swimming. There are quite a few restaurants available.
Maja K — Google review
Full of waste...Everywhere you look is waste. The beach is close to an army area where it is to danger to visit. My hightlight: the provider of the sun loungers collected the waste of the guests and put it in the nature like you can see of the photo I habe posted. Unbelievable that people are talking about a beautiful beach.

Food is amazing, portions are perfect size, the host was so funny and welcoming ☺️ Also met the friendliest cat in all island 🐱

We tried only a few things, but they were actually pretty good. Some reviews say the food is bad. What we had tasted pretty good, so i can t complain there. The only thing, is the plating of the cheese, they could have presented it nicer, but thats all. The price was ok too.
Schogea — Google review
Despite the fact that in prasonisi barely is any restaurant this one is really good choice. Prices are okay and portions are big. The service was really nice and kind. Also a great pro is that we wait only 5 minutes for our dinner which was surprising
Mateusz S — Google review
Amazing place to be honest! Food was great , portion size big ( too big for me 😅) service quick ( partner didn’t finish his cigarette before food arrived) . Overall surprisingly good
Julia B — Google review
Unfortunately didn't fulfil our expectations 😕 The portion of food was very small and the quality was okay nothing too exiting it doesn't worth the money for it The staff was fast and friendly of course Nice atmosphere( Definitely will not go there again)
Bakion D — Google review
In a picturesque surroundings a very touristy and average service. We had to wait ages for the waiter taking our orders, then they had a shift change and half of it was forgotten.
Tamás E — Google review
The location means limited choices which can often mean poor quality and high prices but pleasantly surprised by the food quality and service, both being good with an awesome view to boot

The worst macaroni I've ever had. No cheese, just some weird dough. Just looking at it made my stomach rumble. Disappointing. I wish I had taken a picture. They don't offer ketchup. I won't go there again.

The best beach in Halki by far. It is a 10-15 minute walk from Halki port. The path is easy to walk but is made of pebbles (don't bring suitcases). There are sunbeds, a restaurant and paid showers. The water is crystal clear and there are lots of fish. I recommend this beach for relaxing and also for activities like snorkelling.
Amanda N — Google review
A small pebbeled beach; best on the island for swimming&snorkeling. The water is crystal clear; rocks& sand on the sea bottom as you enter the water then, as the water gets deep( pretty fast going around 7-10m i'd say) the seabed is only sand with sea weed every now and there. Few fish to be seen here though. The only shade you'll find here is at the local taverna or if you renf seabeds.
Paul N — Google review
Best beach in the island. We have visited Podamos and Kania with Podamos been the 2nd best and Kania 3rd best (in fact Kania is not recommended at all!) The restaurant on the beach is good with good service and nice food. We will pass the remaining of our days in Chalki at this beach.
Nikos D — Google review
If you are in Rhodes, don’t forget to visit the island of Chalki. Small but charming with its colorful houses and blue beaches. Ftenagia beach is 15 minutes away from the port where you can relax and enjoy yourself in the sun. The beach has sun-beds and umbrellas and taverna. The taverna has a nice menu with fresh fish and seafood. Not to be missed 🇬🇷
Elka K — Google review
Lovely wee beach, about 15 mins walk from the port. Loungers were 6 euros each (July 25) with umbrella. Rocky, not sandy. Crystal clear water. Nice taverna with reasonably priced food and friendly staff.
Colin B — Google review
Absolutely magical beach with crystal clear water. It really is like paradise.
František T — Google review
Came here from Kamiros Skala, Rhodes. This is the best beach for snorkeling I could find for my entire stay in Rhodes. Crystal clear water, calm sea because of the surrounding islands acting like natural barrier, few people on it because it's about a 20 min walk from the port. Definitely recommend for any snorkeling enthusiasts out there, not so much for people looking for big sandy beaches. Also bring water shoes as there are lots of rocks. There's a tavern on the beach as well so you have easy access to food / drinks / toilet.
Alin P — Google review
Worth the walk, sun loungers €12 with umbrella. Lots of fish over the rocks if you go in search of them.
