Amazing experience when you arrive at the third waterfall... 1.30 to 2 hours of hiking if you stop at each waterfall to take a photo :) The parking was a paid parking lot with 5 euros per day price but the machine was not working so no one paid! The bar was closed too when we arrived at the parking. But it was a wonderful experience.

Relatively easy walk to get to the falls, culminating with a quite spectacular bridge that crosses the water. It's worth closing the path down with the ring path so as to avoid doing the same way twice

This trail, that crosses Rutor falls is just wonderful. Really astonishing, impressive and clean nature plus the hike is very easy. It crosses 3 falls and there are plenty options to go such as all the way up to Rifugio Albert Deffeyes. On this route after the amazing falls you will find a beautiful green and moist valley. After that, it goes up another 346 meters and you can have a great view to Mont Blanc and many glaciers and lakes near by. It's a very special hike in Aosta Valley. Absolutely recommended if you search for something technically feasible and a rich, fascinating environment as well.

One of the best footpath that you can do in La Thuile area, starting from la Joux the road is not so difficult, you don't need to be an expert climber but bring with you some water and a raincoat. The water shows is simply amazing especially at the 3rd waterfall. Recommended 👍👍👍

Really amazing. The falls are impressive. The hiking need to be prepared because is not so easy for the length and for the gradient. I suggest to take some water with you because till to the refuge is not possible to found any fountain. Take time to climb till the Deffeys refuge will pay you about the fatigue and the high gradient.

Incredible place after a good climb !

Had a week of incredible lessons at parallel lines. I was a complete beginner and was lucky that there weren't any other beginners that week apart from me so the first few sessions were 1 on 1. Roger was an amazing teacher, adapted really well to my progress and was great fun to spend time with. I'm astounded at the progress I made, I was confidently skiing blues by the end of day 4 and could really make the most of my trip! Heartily recommended!

I found Parallel Lines a very good ski school. They were very good at moving people up and down levels, to ensure that everyone got the experience they needed and there was no need for stress or panic at being out of depth. I started with Jean, who was so calm and positive and really helped to build my confidence and I then moved to Phil’s group. Phil is a very clear teacher and pushed us just the right amount. I really enjoyed the social life in the group too and was able to ski with a few of the new friends that I made in the groups. Thank you for a brilliant week Phil and Parallel Lines!

Had an amazing experience here as a total novice skier. Had John the first day and he really helped explain the basics and fundamentals needed to get on the slopes. A true gent. Then spent five days out with Phil on the slopes and he is absolutely brilliant. Really intuitive teacher willing to explain in different ways. Serious about good skiing but plenty of jokes along the way and also helped us with getting around the slopes, directions, information about the valleys and what not. Even some food recommendations! This was the perfect way to meet new people (including the brilliant instructors) and getting the basics of skiing nailed down at the same time, for a really fair price. Hope to return one day, and will certainly have lessons here if I do. A personal thanks to John and Phil for their help, support and great attitude.

Ed was an incredible instructor. 5 years ago i suffered a bad fall on a red run and have not skied since. I was extremely nervous of getting back on skis again so decided to join a group lesson with parallel lines and it made all the difference. Ed watched each of us in turn, in our basic state, before providing us with specific pointers to ski more smoothly, achieving more natural control and speed. I’d definitely go back again and join next level up next time I’m in Meribel. We also had a good bit of craic along the way. I’ve had a lot of ski lessons over the years but I’ve never felt so confident or relaxed as I did being part of Ed’s group. So thank you parallel lines for a very enjoyable experience.

I am so glad I booked into ski school, it completely transformed my trip . Mo was the most patient , funny and informative instructor. He was so invested in our journey . I trusted him completely to push us when we needed and have fun when we needed . Our class had a variety of adult ages and we became good friends by the end of the week. A huge Thankyou Mo for an extremely memorable week 😊

Fantastic 5 days of guiding with the Parallel lines team. Made the most of limited off piste options whilst snow conditions not great, whilst providing some technical feedback to improve skiing. Guides John, Craig and Moreno were good fun and kept group entertained - thanks for a great week.

The best ski school and instructors, I arrived as a really nervous absolute beginner and Milan taught me the essentials along with building my confidence. He adapted the lessons as I was progressing and was extremely patient. I can’t rate highly enough. I even booked more lessons throughout the week and I enjoyed them so much. Thanks Milan.

We were lucky to have Elian Leonhart as our guide on the EGSW hosted groups . He was very flexible, helpful and attentive to all the skiers needs and requests and the best guide I have had in over 10 years. Merci bien .

Very grateful for the service by max and Jeremy. Bought a pair of boots here, was thoroughly impressed by the level of detail that was put into getting a pair that I felt were the right fit for me. After a few days of skiing I had to get the boots readjusted and everything was perfect. They helped me massively with tips to get the boots on properly and how to solve the problems I faced. Thank you very much - they were amazing.

Highly recommend using Prosneige for lessons. We had 6 snowboarding lessons with Charly and absolutely loved them! He provided really clear instructions, tips and demos for beginners and made lessons fun and varied, too. He kept the motivation up when I was struggling which was really important for me! Was disappointed with the ski club for my 3 y/o son. I can't complain for the quality of ski lessons. It was more or less ok. But we signed him in for the whole week - full 6 days. They skied 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Rest of the time they mostly spent in this tiny room with one set of lego and couple of other toys. Toilet - adult size only. It's fine for couple of hours ski lesson, but not for the whole week. At the end of the ski course, everyone was suppose to get a medal. I was passing ESF at the time of the medal ceremony - the photographer, medals and ski book for each child. When I came to pick up my son, I expected the same. Most of the people were gone, we had to ask for the medal (which is a big deal for my LO) and the ski book. Disappointing experience. Will choose club Piou Piou next time again.

The aquatic centre is right next to the Tignes Lake. Coming with local buses you can get on-off the bus at Tignespace few minutes walk or at Toviere bus stop. The town centre few minutes walking distance. During ski season many skiers in the open space in front the centre. The reception ladies speak English, are helpful. Payment by cash or card. The place is clean and tidy, wifi available. The swimming pool is nice offering relaxatio for swimmers, beginers or those who want to do laps. The changing and locker areas are warm and clean with showers. The gym isn't bad but don't expect a big room. In the morning until noon isn't crowded. Cardio and strengh training. The orices are a little high and combos can be done like swim+gym, spa+swim etc. The reception is big.

The water was freezing and impossible to enjoy. Our kids normally want to swim for hours and we only lasted about 15 minutes I literally had goosebumps and was shivering in the water. It was in no way relaxing nor enjoyable and a far cry from the amazing Japanese onsens you can visit after skiing there. Very disappointed we will not return.

This review is for the Gym: It's a well equipped gym with a good variety of equipment. It has 3 squat racks on a rig and a selection of 10s, 20s and some fractionals. The quantity of plates is fine if only two of the racks are in use, but could do with a larger selection if all three racks are in use. There used to be some 15s but they disappeared when an extra rack was added for some reason. The barbells are in ok condition, but one of them does not spin well so makes olympic lifting uncomfortable if you're stuck with that barbell. As for dumbbells, fortunately there is a decent selection again, but proportionally there is not really enough space, nor benches, to make full use of the selection when the gym is busy. Machines and ergs wise, again a good variety. Could do with a ski erg or another rower, especially as the 3 rowers are very close to each and so having all three in use is not really feasible. Plenty of spin bikes for the classes they run too. I would give the gym 4 stars, but I cannot. The single worst thing about the gym is that it only opens at 9am and given this is the only gym in Tignes, it makes it incredibly frustrating to not be able to get your workout done before your day, be it work, skiing or relaxing. This issue is exacerbated by the fact that naturally the gym gets incredibly busy in the afternoon/evening and by opening at 9am, it makes the rest of the day busier as those who train in the morning are forced to work around the 9am opening and increase busyness later in the day.

The front desk staff are blunt/unhelpful, it leaves a poor ambiance to the centre. Swimming pool is good and plenty for kids but the facilities are poor considering the high cost, such as hair driers not working. It's the second time I have found staff to be unhelpful and when speaking to other locals and seasionairs it is well known.

The gym was very small and basic for the price. The staff were mostly interested in checking multiple times if we had a towel and clean shoes which was a bit odd and not very welcoming. Once we were allowed inside the changing room wasn't very clean and most of the locker doors were missing. Pool looks nice but we were a bit put off going back after the gym experience.

Terrible service, pricy, no towels, hot tubs, not even slightly hot. You can't go into the wellness area if it's full. Waste of time and money. Dis recommendation. Very disappointed, especially after long day of skiing when all you want is to relax.

A great place to spend during a stormy day. The jacuzzi weren't hot enough. The saunas were really good.

Ski trip in mid february. Here a detailed review: Arrival: I stayed in Val Claret, the road up was clear and only on some parts covered with ice/snow. If there was recent snowfall, caution is advised. I liked that there is also a ski run going through the town of Val. Ski runs: Now the ski area Tignes-Val d'Isère is pretty big and you have lots of variation. About 75-80% of all runs are above the treeline. There are a lot of kids areas (in every town), lots beginner areas (around the Borsat chairlift and Solaise). For experts there are plenty of ski runs: the stade olympice/face de bellewarde (can be very icy), the foret, la Sache, Chicherit, Aiguille Percée. The Tunnel (near Leissieres) was sadly closed due to lack of snow) You have some pretty long ski runs as well: skiing all the way down from Grande Motte to Val Claret, from Aiguille Percée to Les Brevières, from Cugnai to Laisinant, from Borsat chairlift to Val d'Isère or Daille and from Col de l'Iseran to Fornet. My favorite runs were: blue Génépy & black Descente on Grande Motte, blue Grattalu, blue Anemone, black La Sache (upper section, the lower section was very icy), black La Foret and of course the famous offpiste run "Vallée Perdue". This last run is pretty adventurous and shouldnt be missed (you should be an advanced skier though). Snow Conditions: Due to the higher elevation it was very snow secure, though there were still some spots where the wind blow off the snow. The weather was blue sky and sun for 6 days, so ski runs sadly tend to become very icy, especially steeper runs under 2000m elevation. Lift infrastructure: The ski area is excellent interconnected, though compared to other european ski areas, you wont find any of those hyper modern bubble chair lifts. There are still some painfully slow and rough chair lifts, like Col des Ves, Grand Huit and Cema. Crowding: I learned to NEVER again come to the french alps on saturday mid february. The roads were full of traffic jams (Lyon-Albertville-Moutiers) and the drive took 3h longer than expected. Mostly british and dutch tourists. Tignes-Val d'Isère was the most crowded I've ever experienced in any ski area and I've been before in ski resorts in switzerland and austria at the same holiday period. There were lines up to 15min at some chairlifts. On the ski runs, especially the main runs down to the valley it was more like an obstacle course to avoid colliding with others. Then there were the ski schools, there were just too many of them. Even in the Vallée Perdue, I encountered a ski school. During lunch time it calmed a bit down and there was a window for a less crowded ski run. Staff: The staff at the lifts and desks were all very nice and helpful. When buying a ski pass via the Val d'Isère app, the machine wont get you your pass in Tignes, even though the ski area is connected, one of the guys easily helped me out and was really nice. The staff at the lifts were all cool except the guy at the bottom of Merles chairlift (at 3pm last tuesday), he was rudely yelling at me, stressing, even though there was no reason and there was no line of people behind. I signaled him to chill down and he became menacing. Pricing: The prices were in the middle to upper level. The ski pass for 5 days is around 355€. A little takeaway burger can be around 18€, a 1l beer is 21€ (!!). Its certainly not a place if you want to eat/drink on a budget. Scenery: The landscape is amazing, you can see Mont Blanc. Also check out the Aiguille Percée arch and the Vallee Perdue canyon (if you are a good skier). To even more enjoy the landscape you can even do a tandem ULM flight. I think though some people might prefer a bit more forested hills, if the weather would be foggy I bet its easily a whiteout in the ski area. *Verdict*: ++ variety of runs & area size + beginner & expert offer + nice offer of activities outside of skiing (ULM flight, Bungee ski jump, sledding etc.) - pricey ski area (especially concerning food drinks and hotels) -- can be severely crowded during school breaks

I Love Tignes, I Stay Here Twice For A Seasonal Work In Winter, I Was Taken Away On How Kind And Lovely The Local Was. I Was Taken Away On How Beautiful The Area Is And I Use To Love Walking Around The Le Lac After Work Before Season Started. Tignes Is A Very Picturesque Place And It A Photographer Dream Location. I Was Lucky Enough To Be Goving Opportunity To Come In October And Catch The Last End Of Autumn Which Was Beautiful. I Feel Tignes Will Alway Hold A Place In My Heart.

Amazing ski resort with great snow, diverse slopes for all levels, and stunning views. Well-organized with good lifts, rentals, and après-ski options. Highly recommend!

It’s a shame that ski passes are sold with the Carré Neige insurance, which turns out to be useless when you actually need it. There’s no point in offering a service that borders on a scam. The ski resort itself, as always, is excellent.

Wonderful place at an altitude of 2100 m. Lots of sports activities including summer skiing. Mentally I struggle a bit with the fact that every hotel wants parking for a not so small fee. But that's just France. ⛰️🇫🇷

A wonderful ski station with fantastic views and an enormous number of slopes for all levels. Also there are plenty of activities to do apart from skiing and a good infrastructure. Tignes application is very useful. I highly recommend Tignes as a ski resort !

Beautiful park with well maintained trails. We visited this park to climb the Gran Paradiso. Trails to Rifugio Chabod were easy to follow and well maintained. Parking was accessible and safe. We left our car there a few days.

Its a national park that has villages around it, so lots of places to stay. We stayed in a very rustic village called Ozein in the northern part, and Locana in the south. The trails are very challenging, and mostly not circular. We are a retired couple, so we always did half a trail and enjoyed ourselves. The only place with official information and staff to help you is near the town of Cognes next to an Alpine botanical garden, don't miss it. It was sad to see many abandoned hamlets due to depopulation. Look for the Chamois and martens they are reall cute. Driving on the narrow roads id challenging, so be careful.

Great relaxing in nature with a small town

Beautiful landscape, advised for spending some time in the nature. Stunning view of the Gran Paradiso peak surrounded by other mountains and a few turquoise lakes. The best natural park you'll find in northern Italy with plenty of hiking trails leading to the summits to fully enjoy your tour, gifting an incredible view of the valley underneath.

This place is a must go in Piemonte

A stunning French/Italian mountain pass with views to die for on the Italian side. The huge reservoir at the top is crystal clear and fed by several cascading mountain streams. Apart from the wonderful natural scenery there are also some marvellous buildings, old and new, including the wooden church.

Very beautiful road! Altitude 2085 m. The term "Mont Cenis" could be derived from mont des cendres ("mountain of ashes"). According to tradition, following a forest fire, a great quantity of ashes accumulated on the ground, thus the name. The path of ashes was found during the building work of the route.

Lovely getting the cable cars up to the start point of one of the hikes. Then the hike was glorious.

Very interesting guided visit. We just showed up 9:30 am on Sunday and luckily the tour started at 10 am so we were able to visit the castle. Like almost all the places in Italy there are no instructions at the entrance, so when you get at the counter and seem a little lost and have inquiries, they immediately asked us to move aside to pass people that had reserved online!! I was fuming and wanted to leave. I believe that the lady behind the counter realized what she had done and came to get us and passed us in front of the line. It’s probably annoying having tourists that show without knowing ahead of time what to expect all the time, but when traveling from far to see something it is also annoying to be rushed and quickly dismissed because. Please put instructions on the outside so we can look at your packages before we get at the counter. ( would of gave a 5 star if it wasn’t for that) The tour guide was really nice, and explained, was interesting to listen to!

The tour to this place is extremely interesting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to interact with, and it is definitely a good stop to fill your time. The castle is not in the best state of preservation (hence the 4 stars), but the enthusiastic guides make up for this.

Big castle with a wide park. Very nice to visit. Kind guide that leads you inside the buiding with storytelling.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, maybe as much as the Royal palace in Turin, beautiful, furniture, chandeliers, statues, curtains. We'll have to return to see the gardens which were closed for renovation.

The castle is very beautiful and impressive. During our visit it was closed to visitors and only the small garden next to it was open. We Received a disgusting and condescending attitude from the salesman who refused to understand that we are tourists who do not speak Italian. He didn't agree to explain anything and barely agreed to sell tickets that were expensive for just a tour of the garden. If the castle is not open, you can content yourself with looking from the outside.

Just passing here for awhile coz the castle is busy for other event but outside this area is quite good and nice 👌 I hope I could see inside the castle but looks good 👍

We have visited Isola in March, expected a lot of sun but have got a snowfall all 7 days long. But slopes was well trodden, staff worked hard during nights to prepare it. It's nice and quiet ski resort, with a lot of blue slopes for ski enjoying. Also there was not too many people, which is a good thing for us who love that.

Isola 2000 in the summer is a beautiful green place, they rent bicycles and you can take a lift to the very top to ride, there are not very many people, the infrastructure in this area is not very developed. We found only one supermarket working, there was nowhere to eat, June 2025

Don’t go there! It’s well maintained, perfect weather and empty off season (when high season in Austria). Food is amazing and surprisingly cheap. A true hidden gem. Don’t share it with anyone.

Lovely scenery and excellent facilities. However I appreciate hikers aren't their target customers because to find the trails for hikers was really difficult. It is complicated with the VTT as obviously it is a perfect destination for this type of holiday. If I had a bit more practice I would have loved to have done the circuits on a mountain bike but I'm not at that suicidal level 😉😁😁 The swimming pool was really good and there is an excellent choice of restaurants and shops. The Doctor service is brilliant along with the pharmacy who were really helpful and rescued me from a problem. There is so much to see there and I will be going back if I can. The views around there are breathtaking and a trip up the mountain needs to be done. The tourist office staff need to remember that a smile costs nothing. I had a lovely young lady who was really helpful cheerful and couldn't do enough. My wife went in there twice and both times was not impressed with the attitude or service Isola 2000 is a lovely gem hidden in the mountains and I really liked it.

Great ski resort close to Nice (1hr30). Skiing is great considering winter weather on the Mediterranean (we went from 1 degree on the mountain to 17degrees on our drive home in January). Travelled with baby under 1 years old, which can be a bit difficult to walk around the main area as there are steps and stairs everywhere. Nothing major, though, if you are there for a short time. Plenty of skiing and eating options. All reasonably priced

Medium sized, friendly resort with plenty of amenities and some lovely runs, almost all of which are snow cannoned, although not a particularly massive skiable area. Very pleasant to stay in, wouldn't hesitate to return. A bit more peaceful and relaxed than some of the larger, more famous resorts, even at the weekend!

Beautiful place in the mountains just 1:45 minutes from Nice. Temperature during summer is around 20C compared to 34C in Nice. Teleseage funicular is open to get to the top of the mountain either for walk or with bike to drive down. Ticket price for funicular is very moderate.

The Park Alpha is located in the Mercantour Alps, on a highs of 1900m over sea, nearly 2 hours drive from Grasse. The way is curvy and due to the big storm Alex,three years ago, especially the streets in the mountains are damaged and you really could see what water is able to destroy. Arriving at the park we first went to the store and got some nice things to remember this visit. Afterwards we went to the park itself, a little bit higher the street than the store,more in the valley. We had some time to see the surrounding and at 5pm our guided tour, a very well animal things known women and very well english speaking women went with us in the inner park to see the mountain goats first and then to see and feed the iberian wolves. This was amazing and wonderful to be part of it. Can't believe to be so close to a wolve. After this we went over to another side in the park and could see the european wolves pack and our guide told us so many things, answered any question to know about wolves in general as well as special things for this area and the wolves. I would like to say a very big thanks to her for this time to spent with us to get this experience with the wolves. We only could recommend this place to support and see this wonderful animals. We will come back to this beautiful place some time.... thanks!

It's great to come to Switzerland and visit this place. The irresistible nature of the beauty of the soul within this special space I assure you that you will see things that you will only find here, the words and vocabulary are many, but I will summarize them for you with only one campaign, Come and see.👌

Rare attraction but definitely worth going if you’re an animal lover. I would say more interesting for kids. The park has altogether 6 wolves, due to the river floods in 2020, some animals like the Chamois escaped as we were told. The facility is very secure, the park guides are very informative and answer all questions about the wolves, we got to see them feed the wolves, it was quite interesting.

The 1 hr 20 min journey from Nice was absolutely stunning - with the road passing through gorges and mountain tunnels and cliffs towering high on either side. Our boys (11 and 14) loved it. It was 28 degrees in Nice (mid August) but high up the Alpha Park temperature dropped to a very pleasant 21 degrees. Makes sure you get your tickets at the building next to the very tall outdoor climbing wall. Then walk along the road a little before turning left up a rough Alpine path where you will find a bridge with an automated ticket barrier. At the Park we watched one of the pack of wolves up close through one way glass as they were fed raw chicken. Amazing! And then as we were leaving another pack began howling in unison. Very special. There is a restaurant but we didn't have time to enjoy it as we had to catch a flight home. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A nice place to enjoy nature and watch wolves though I did not come at the best time. There was snow on the ground and started melting, so the road was wet, dirty and slippery (I felt twice and luckily I didn't get hurt). Remember to come before the feeding time (twice a day at 11:15 and 15:45) and not to miss the feeding though it lasts a few minutes. The wolves are around before the feeding. Seems they are/have been expanding to include more animals and activities that will make it worthwhile for the long drive up there.

Great location, well organised and friendly service. Beware it is 1500 meters up in the Alps - you need some good clothes and take some food with you... it is pretty much a wild forest so not many options to get your meals bought on location 😉

This amazing Sanctuary is unsurprisingly one of the best known tourist attractions in Piedmont, whose elliptical dome is the largest in the world. Indeed, the "Santuario Basilica Regina Montis Regalis", appointed in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, has the largest masonry elliptical dome in the world. Following miraculous healings, the place became in 1594 a place of devotion to the representation of the Virgin and Child, painted on a votive station. The complex has its origin in a votive pillar on which is decorated a fresco of the 15th century representing the Virgin and Child, made to promote the good cooking of the bricks. A prodigious hunting accident made this site an increasingly frequent pilgrimage place, so much so that the Duke Charles Emmanuel I of Savoie Commandita the construction of a large sanctuary in 1596. The sanctuary was to welcome the many pilgrims and become a place intended for the tombs of the family but the mausoleum of the house of Savoy was then transferred to the Basilic de Superga. However, its construction experienced a fairly long gestation ... And once again, it was Francesco Gallo who pulled chestnuts out of the fire by achieving the feat of building, in 1728, the imposing elliptical dome, 74 meters high. It is said that when we had to dismantle the finished dome reinforcement, given the enormity of the work, the workers refused to remove the supports for fear of a collapse and Gallo had to go to dismantle the scaffolding to demonstrate the stability of the building! But this magnificent elliptical dome, with unique characteristics, was finally completed in 1733. Since when the architect and the Duke were both died, the construction stopped and the work did not resume until several years later ... We decided to spend Easter in the Provinces of Cuneo, and our first stop was here, at the Sanctuary, it looks amazing and majestic, it is one of the most famous in the region of Piedmont and the biggest in the world, the elliptical dome has wonderful frescoes, really a nice place to visit and see it for yourself and not just in photos, the place is sorrounded by arcades with shops and bars.

Snow isn't great for the start of the season. And the cost is around 49€ per day, so it's Very expensive. But the lifts are in perfect condition and the slopes are very nice

Nice ski area where you can find slopes for all levels. Nice staff, nice views, toilets are free and most of the time clean. The only bad point is that the direction is greedy for the tamping of the slopes, no tamping from Sunday to Saturday ... a little bit exaggerated But despite that it is a really nice place to enjoy days with friends or family for an honest price.

A bit hard for a beginner. A lot of reds and blacks, a few blues. Maneggio is the place to go if you are new to skiing, there's easy access chair-lifts/ski-lifts as well as really good restaurants. Ate pretty good pizzas there that wasn't too expensive. If you are renting ski equipment near the village, you can take the cable car up but only red trails will be available to get to Maneggio. We had a hard time on the first day to get there since it was our first time, we chose to walk on the second day (approx 10min from Bottero Ski shop to Maneggio). Booking the skipass online was quite a hard task, the website is mostly in italian with some bad translations, but managed to get past it and get a pass for me and 2 friends. Will surely come back next time for some snowboarding!

Let’s start with the one and only positive thing, the cave was absolutely gorgeous and enormous. On the other hand, the trip was quite on the expensive side and the guide was awful to say the least. Our group contained about 30 people while only like the first 10 could hear what the guide was rambling on about. All this in Italian while he asked if there were English people and we said that we were. So despite him knowing there were multiple foreign people coming along he just talked only in Italian which we couldn’t understand at all. The tour was about 2-2,5 hours and hence the experience being not so great overall.

It is fun but a lot of stairs, I recommend this for people who like to sport and I don't recommend this for people who can't climb a lot of stairs

Beautiful caves, well worth the ride. The guide was fluent in Italian and French, but not so much English. The commentary was therefore limited, but I didn't mind. If you have difficulty walking, think again before going there.

Nice’s museum opened by and dedicated to Marc Chagall - primarily consisting of his ‘biblical’ works, and those related to religious themes and tropes. Interesting to see this line of his work compared to some of his other more famous pieces. Not overly big, but interesting for any art lovers.

The Marc Chagall National Museum is located in a primarily residential neighbor situated on the hills of Nice. This museum was inaugurated while Chagall was still alive and it houses several of his paintings as well as explores his famous mosaics. There are tours available on a first come first serve basis. Guillemette, our tour guide, was extremely informative sharing insights into Chagall’s history, his collaborators, and his inspirations. We learned about the process of making mosaics too from creative inception to the actual works. What’s more, there is an outdoor cafe that’s serves sweet and savory, hot and cold snacks and beverages that is also worth checking out. Keep in mind, you will be asked to remove your water bottles and any food that you bring with you so best to avoid bringing them. Recommend bringing very small bag if any at all. Spent a delightful couple of hours at the Marc Chagall museum enjoying his art and the natural surroundings. Highly recommend

The Marc Chagall National Museum in Nice, France together with the Matisse Museum were my unexpected finds in a vacation that was just free flowing and no detailed itinerary. At first, I was apprehensive as it was my first time to visit a museum on my own and in another country even. However, I did not regret my decision to forego seeing Cannes in favour of the great works of Chagall and Matisse all in one day! The 75 or so Euros cost of Uber (Holiday Inn Hotel - Matisse Museum - Holiday Inn - Chagall Museum - Hotel) plus tickets in both museums was definitely worth it! The Chagall Museum was inaugurated on July 7, 1973, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023. It houses a large number of artworks donated by Chagall, his wife, and his heirs to the State of France, including the 17 Biblical paintings inspired by the books of Genesis, Exodus and Songs. The museum is located in the Cimiez district with address Av. Dr Ménard, 06000 Nice, France. It stands on a vast plot of land donated by the city of Nice. The entrance to the museum is 10 euros and is opened from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM it closes on Tuesdays. I don’t consider myself as a very artistic person and usually not sure about how to interpret modern art. But in this gallery I did enjoy simply looking at Chagall’s masterpieces and felt a beautiful soul, an innocent mind, and curious attitude toward the world.

Sadly it's in need of upkeep but the art is still spectacular. The fountain around the outside mural is empty. And the museum closes for lunch. And the red room is posed off. You can only view it from it's entrance.

Very disappointed with the way the carnival was conducted. The place itself was ok but man is there 0 information about what happens on opening night. They say its free for entry and then when you queue up suddenly everyone has tickets. They block the whole view from the sides for the carnival and hold it in a super exclusive staged area. We travelled all the way from UK for this for nothing. If people say we should have bought tickets in advance, its clearly mentioned on the website that its free on opening day and doesn't mention about any tickets!

Lovely area with live music regularly. We found many shops and restaurants in the area. We didn't have a chance to see if uber was well represented here because our hotel was close enough to the water as close enough to Nice Massena that we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Old city is very near. So is the castle hill. Both places I would highly recommend. The beech of course, too! We found it quite easy to communicate as English speakers. We were only in Nice 2.5 days but would happily return to this area!

If you're in the French Riviera, you clearly have to come to Nice and to visit this place. It's always full of people, a lot of places where you can seat. Thanks to the metro it's pretty easy to go there. Also most of the time there are artists which perform music.

The place was simply beautiful. There are lots and lots of services like restaurants, bars opened till night, markets, clothing markets and souvenir markets. The bus servise works also very good all around the city. You can visit a lot of places in the city like Massena square, Garibaldi Square, the old city centre, the castle, the English promenade. There are many things to do and to visit. You must Go there!!!!

One of the nicest parts of Nice I visited (pun intended). I was there during the Fifa women's world cup and Rngland was playing, all the expats were out in force. It was enjoyable.

City centre good for hangout It is well connected by tram, busses and even Nice central train station. This is large square with lots of activities and entertainment. Many shops and restaurants are located alongside this square. Sea beach is on walkable distance.

Lovely place for kids chill out in hot days. Two down point though: locals take dogs for a ride in the middle of kids playing and some others smoking closing by where there are kids around.

There’s nothing like witnessing the sunrise during a morning run along the promenade. Ending the run by dipping my feet in the sea and listening to the waves and birds is a truly wonderful way to begin the day. It's a perfect moment of peace and connection with nature!

Great views of the bay and the city. The promenade is apparently over 7 kilometers long and offers lovely views of the water and the city. You can also get a great view of planes taking off to land and coming in at Nice airport! With so much seating available it is a fantastic spot to park up with some takeaway food and watch the world go by. It can be especially pretty at sunset. If you are visiting Nice you will probably walk along here a bunch of times

Wide, wonderful, paved walking path between the town and the sea. Sit in one of the famous blue chairs to watch the waves and the beach scene. It's an enjoyable stroll at any time of day.

Nice is a very beautiful city. I could not have enough of it. The clear blue water and the buildings are just breathe taking. Even from the airplane I could see the blue color of the sea. This city should be seen on feet, walking around is the best to see its beauty. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the long beach. It was difficult to walk with my feet in the water because it was a stone beach not sand one.

Every visitor to Nice must visit here. The sun and beach, this is Mediterranean life.

Coming here in the rain turned out to be an excellent idea — there were almost no people around, and the views were still amazing. A bunch of viewpoints overlooking the city and the sea, walking trails, waterfalls, parks… it feels like someone was playing a video game and packed everything into one place. A beautiful experience.

The Colline du Château is also known as Castle Hill. It has several ideal lookouts / viewpoints from where you can see the best views of Nice. At the top there is even a terrace with a couple of benches, occasionally with a musician - there was a drummer when we were there. In addition to many scenic walks and viewpoints, there is also a waterfall, archeological ruins, playgrounds for children, and a cafe. It’s hard to miss seeing the Colline du Château from the famous Promenade d’Anglais and whether ascending either by steps on one side or a ramp on the other, it’s worth the effort. Spend an hour or the day as there are plenty of public restrooms and a couple of snack kiosks. Highly recommend!

It’s the perfect place to take a break from the busier streets below and just soak in the scenery. The mix of history and nature gives the whole park a calm, charming vibe. Overall, Parc de la Colline du Château is a must-visit when in Nice—great for photos, relaxing walks, and unbeatable views of the coastline and Old Town.

Amazing view point for Nice and a good day out for sure! There is a lift you can take to the top of the hill which definitely improves the accessibility. It is decently busy (but what else would you expect). Upon my visit there was 2 people I encountered who seemed to be a little pushy to get people to take pictures with their Doves in exchange for money.

Colline du Chateau, also known as Castle Hill is a wonderful walk with stunning views of Nice. The waterfall was spectacular. We were also surprised to find a couple of places at the top of the hill where you could purchase refreshments. No tickets required, the walk is free, unless of course you wish to skip the exercise and catch the little visitor train.

Visited end of July. Perhaps there was a water restriction as the gardens seemed dry. Places needed trimming or at least tidied up. A bit run down. Paths and stairs need renovating. A few areas/paths closed. I would love to visit again when not so dry and renovations finished. Free parking limited to the street. Lovely view of the sea.

What an incredibly beautiful property. This garden is absolutely worth a visit. It's best to allocate at least 1hr to visit and discover the beauty of this garden! Parking options are a bit limited and visitors need to park alongside the main road.

I love botanical gardens and try to visit at least a new one each vacation. The location of Hanbury botanical gardens is very special, with great views of the Mediterranean sea, and have interesting features, in terms of the antique buildings, plants and decorations (statues, etc) but imo it really needs more care! We visited in August, which I understand is a hot and dry month, but in comparison to other botanical gardens -in the same region- also visited in summer, this one could really gain with more irrigation, plant care, and some details as more labeling of the plants species and some additional informative data (origin, uses, etc) Hope this comment is taken into consideration for improvement.

Would not have missed this botanical gardens. We've spend approximately 3 hours here. The garden is beautiful even at early September. It is true that some parts need some maintenance, but it also gives some extra charm to it. Imagine the potential! A big plus is the silence, especially since the rest of Cote d'Azur is such a busy and extravert environment. Highly appreciated!

Just a fantastic garden and setting. Put aside a few hours for a walk around the garden. Numerous viewpoints and benches to sit and soak up the plants, cactus and trees. Even a cafe!

A bit of a hassle to get there and not open for the public often enough, nor long enough in the evenings. Yet, an amazing landmark worth a visit despite not being able to enter it.

There is a combination of a park, a museum of lighthouse, and a 360 lookout from the top. But be sure, there are a lot of stairs without elevator and you will not be allowed to visit the very top with light. This sight is pretty far from the historical center. The path by foot is not so easy, you can shorten the journey via subway, a bit.

It was a unique experience, as it was the first ever time I have been to the lighthouse and could actually climb to the viewpoint. The entrance fee is 8€ per person and I find it to be reasonably priced. You can walk around the lighthouse (open-air museum), inside the lighthouse construction with plenty of information, and then climb to the viewpoint inside the lighthouse itself. Unfortunately, it's not possible to climb to the top but even the half-way view point has a magnificent city and sea view.

Worth a visit, be it relaxing stroll or chill in the surrounding garden/park area or for the stunning views of whole surrounding port and town layout. Lots of interesting information regarding Lighthouse construction and history. Keep in mind you can get only to middle section, upper level is off limits. Still quite nice and plenty of steps to climb just to get there.

А visit to La Lanterna is a must when in Genoa. It is the world's third oldest lighthouse (rebuilt in 1543). Now it is a military zone and there is a security check at the entrance, but you can climb up to the panoramic terrace, which is in the middle of the lighthouse. There are 179 steps to get there and no elevator for tourists. The view is worth the climb though! There is also a small museum about the history of the lighthouse with photos, paintings and artifacts, it’s interesting and informative.

This is very cool and what a view. We did this on our last day in Genoa. You don't need to buy tickets in advance on off-season, but it wouldn't be a bad idea just to have a stress free entry. There are a load of steps leading up to the light house, wmand there is no lift, so unfortunately those in wheelchairs or have mobility issues this isn't a place you can visit. It's definitely a place thar should be on your list to see while being in Genoa. It's the world's 3rd oldest light house.

It’s ok - a brick wall along the side of a busy street covered with 100’s of tiles. There are some interesting tiles but 95% mean nothing to a non-Italian visitor. Small monument to Nelson who was involved in a sea battle against the French (obviously) in the bay of Alassio in 1795 which I was not aware of.

Interesting artifact in the middle of the wonderful and charming town of Alassio. Between all the "normal" people, it is nice to spot some names of really famous persons.

Alessio is really lovely, a haunt of Nelson and Hemingway amongst others. The people are kind and gentle; the town layout is idyllic. They say avoid the school summer holidays when it gets overrun.
