Great Place, but the walls are too thin, the water pressure is not good and you are not able to look the doors, even the fridge is a bit open. Great for everyone who loves open houses.

We just had an unforgettable experience with Tara Canyon Raft, when we took a day rafting just a couple days ago. And we also had the best skipper around - Marko. This guy is a top level professional instructor, who definitely made this rafting day perfect for us. Highly recommended for all levels, including families with children.

We had an amazing time here last week. Coming from Ireland we didn't know what to expect but the location and facilities are fantastic.
We stayed for 4 nights 5 days and did rafting, an ATV tour and canyoning. All 3 activities were extremely fun and our guides made them even better. The lady at reception was very helpful throughout our stay with organising things for us and answering our questions.
My only additional recommendation to others would be to maybe bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the birds start chirping and camp becomes active from early in the morning.

The camp was absolutely amazing – really beautiful and well kept. And the river with its surroundings was one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen: completely crystal-clear waters and breathtaking landscapes. The staff were all super friendly, from the receptionist to the dining room team.
The highlight, though, was definitely the food – it was outstanding, everything we tried was delicious. One of the 14 of us is celiac, and they adapted the meals perfectly and took great care of him, which we appreciated a lot. Truly a 10 out of 10.
As for the rafting itself, it was very gentle and safe – more like a scenic ride along the river than an extreme adventure sport. We would definitely do it again!
The restaurant and the rafting was great but DO NOT GO TO SAFARI. Our driver was okay but the translator was an angry teenager who we said he hates doing these hikes. He spent the whole trip sleeping and on instagram instead of working. After two short hikes (25 min total), they told us we can see the horses or do the zip line (all paid extra) and otherwise wait for 2,5 hours for lunch. So basically the ~70 euro ’safari’ only has the drive, 2 hikes and lunch included, without any explanation about the nature or the place with terrible service. The food and other workers were mostly wonderful but I could’t give this place more stars because the showers close to our house had no hot water (even after turning on the boilder), there was foul smell in the bathrooms and our house was very hot during the day.
We absolutely loved our stay at the drina Tara. We stayed in a small Hut for two people. While the bathroom was separate. It was incredibly convenient and easily accessible even at night.
The staff and the outdoor activities were tons of fun. We did the rafting and the canyonning experience.
The food was incredibly delicious but very excessive some days. The lunch was our favorite meal consistently.
Fantastic organization, nice people works there, excellent food and unforgettable tours with boats and electric bikes. Special greetings for boat skipper Keva and el-bikes guide man Miljan, both of them where very nice and professional. We will come next year once again definitely. All recommends from us.
We stayed here for three nights, and had a really wonderful time. The hosts took care of everything, including picking us up and dropping us off in town free of charge. All the staff were wonderful and helpful, the food was amazing (it’s impossible to finish because the servings are so generous). We don’t speak Serbian so they provided us with a friendly translator so we could understand what was going on. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!
It’s worth noting that the cabins are quite modest and a bit of sound does get in, so it’s best to bring some earbuds and/or eye mask if you’re staying over the weekend as there’s live music and lots of merrymaking.

The rudest people we have met since being Iin Bosnia. Totally unfriendly and unhelpful at reception.
Tried to book a rafting trip with them, says you can pay by bank transfer, but when we arrived we were told not possible.
We were then shouted at and called idiots for parking out campervan close to reception while we tried to check in (it was not blocking anything and would have been moved once we knew where to park).
When we complained they did try and put things right but by that point we'd decided to go elsewhere where we were made to feel more welcome from the first impression.

I had a wonderful stay at the Highlander Camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 🌿
Zoran, the manager, was incredibly kind and welcoming — when I felt a bit cold, he even brought an extra heater for my cottage. The view over the Drina river was simply breathtaking.
The food was delicious (I’m still dreaming about the kajmak — oh my god, so good! 😍).
I only stayed one day and one night this time, but next time I’ll definitely stay longer.
Highly recommend a visit if you’re passing through this area — such a warm, memorable experience!

Beautiful riverside getaway for great value. Miona and Dragana were super helpful! The river view from my bungalow is beautiful, the location is convenient for rafting/hiking and the value for the stay is amazing. The outdoor pool with sauna is also great for summer guests. However wifi is only available in the restuarant area and mobile signal is weak in the area (due to the location close to border). Cash payment is suggested for all resorts in this area, due to the unstable network and sometimes card terminals not working.
Amazing food with delicious vegan options, cozy cabins surrounded by beautiful nature, and incredibly kind and hospitable hosts and staff 😊 We really enjoyed our stay!

The place itself is really nice. Close to the river, swimming pool with a sauna and the campings are good. We also did rafting for 45€ per person, it lasted for 4 hours - 20kms but I would say it is worth doing it. The negative side is that they take extra money (10€) for swimming pool, the team really doesnt speak any english and they quite scam with a money as they round all the prices up. We ordered dinner from administrator lady, she told us that you can get it at 7. Also payed to the lady. When we went to the restaurant at 7, the waiters didnt know anything about it. We scheduled a new time for 8 p.m, later the restaurant also wanted the money from us. Also took more money of rakijas than written in the menu. So be aware of the prices. Also you need cash everywhere. When we asked the check out time from the lady, she told it is 9am, later turned out it was actually 2 p.m. The internet only works in restaurant area.

Nestled within Durmitor National Park, Crno Jezero, also known as Black Lake, is a stunning glacial lake surrounded by pine-covered mountains. The lake is 10min on foot from the parking and entrance. Paved path, playground on the way. On the lake there are bars and food but we didn’t try any. You can walk around the lake and swim, it is beautiful.
The lake is beautiful, we were there after snow - it looks stunning! The lake is surrounded by a forest and you can walk around. 5 minutes walking from parking (1.5 e/h), very recommended.
Great experience, awesome view and a must visit attraction of Durmitor park. There are two parking spaces when you enter the lake area, I parked in the second one in the left road which is narrower and parking was free as of 26th of October 2025. During autumn and winter the lake is separated in two because of a shallow narrow pass between them and the locals recommend to visit the lake in late spring when the weather is more stable and the the lake is at its max level due to snow melt.
Black Lake in Montenegro is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders I’ve ever visited. Nestled in the heart of Durmitor National Park, the lake feels like a scene from a fairytale – surrounded by dense pine forests and framed by majestic mountain peaks. The water is crystal clear, with a magical shift in colors depending on the light and time of day, ranging from deep emerald to shimmering turquoise.
The walking trail around the lake is well-maintained and offers plenty of peaceful spots to sit and take in the view. It’s an easy hike that lets you appreciate the changing perspectives of the lake and the surrounding mountains. In the summer, the air is fresh and cool, making it a perfect escape from the heat, while in the winter, the snowy landscape makes the area look absolutely enchanting.

The lake views are breathtaking. Notice that the direction signs are in local language and not in English. From the parking on the street there is about a 3 min walk or take the little train. When you see the lake turn left ( otherwise you’ll walk in opposite direction and you won’t be able to see the signs that warn from the dangerous routes). I
the route to your left is the shortest way to the path between the big and the small lake in which you can decide if you want the short route or the longer one. Around the lake there are three kinds of routes- the easiest one is to the benches of the lake. If you further 30-40 minutes there is the mid difficulty route that goes slightly into the forest ( has short parts which are challenging) and fit deeper in the forest there is the most challenging route. For some reason they don’t provide maps. Also start dogs alone, so if you are a dog lover bring in advance food for them. Montenegrians are lovely but their attitude towards dogs is incomparable: stray neglected dogs all over the Zabeljk village.
Beautiful place, few tourists in September, so it's worth it! Nice place to relax, I recommend.

Bobotov Kuk is an 8,278-ft. mountain in Durmitor, offering two hiking routes to the summit and stunning panoramic valley views. The Durmitor massif boasts 18 glacial lakes at heights over 1500 meters, known as Gorske Oci or "Mountain Eyes," along with 748 springs of pure mountain water and ancient forests.
Nice view around the dumitor national park. You can reach the peak by cable car. Up then, you can walk a bit uphill to enjoy the great view. Highly recommended

Did today hike to the viewpoint just before the summit peak but above the pass (red marker on screenshot).
Hike to the pass:
The hike itself can be considered of medium/hard difficulty due to the rock scrambling required. There is a cabled section as well as some steep incline portions but nothing too crazy for experienced hikers.
Definitely good hiking shoes are needed,
especially on the return. Can be challenging for non avid hikers.
Hike from pass to scientic viewpoint (red marker):
This is the section in which people mentioned snow. We saw a few people pass on the snow, but without crampons I do not believe it's worth the risk. That's why instead we walked around the snow section on loose rocks - if you look closely at the photo you can see a person who does exactly that.
Viewpoint to summit:
Haven't done it. It's the most dangerous part with confusing trail, snow and step rock scrambling.
Personal opinion:
Making it to the scenic viewpoint above the pass is extremely rewarding. The views are amazing.
Amazing peak. It is high, most of the path is quite steep. The last part is very steep and dangerous, a bit exposed. You have to be careful and do it in a good weather. If there very is sunny and dry there isn't any risk here. Views are amazing, you can see Albanian and Bosnian peaks from it. Also there is a beautiful view to Zabliak, and both Tara and Susica canyons. Trail is well marked and can be done from Sedlo pass (longer) or shorter way (you need to drive 2 more km from Sedlo).
Wonderful hike from Sedlo to the top of Bobatov Kuk. Approximately 6km up and 6km back, total elevation around 950m. It should take around 4h hours up and 4 hours down with breaks. Saw 25 balkan chamoises.
Bobotov kuk, i did not plan a day for this, i started the walk at 5:10 in the morning. I bought a great flashlight so i was able to see through the path.. “note, i do not recommend this route to be started in the dark”. The route was nice, the marking was good, but having the map on your watch or phone is recommended. Because i was the first at the parking i got the majestic but weird advantage of getting the bobotov kuk dog to do the entire hike together with me, the views are amazing. 10/10 worth it.. but if you try this. Make sure you have a decent physical condition. Because the last 2k up. It will knock you out😎.
We had started our hike in Zabjak! It is a long way and very hard to get there, lots of rocks and level elevation is crazy. But we did it, it took us 11 hours with all of stops.

We (m, 26; f, 24) started from the parking spot (labeled 'Mountain pass Sedlo' on Google), ascended into the basin and followed the trail until we reached the bottom of the final ascend to Bobotov Kuk.
From there its all about endurance and patience. Take your time, find your pace and you'll slowly ascend to the top. I agree that the final sequence is a bit sketchy but I would consider it still absolutely doable for almost everyone. Select your steps carefully and you'll be rewarded with a beautiful 360° view of northern Montenegro.

We arrived this morning for skiing. The lifts did not open. There was no information about this available on the internet. The man responsible for the lift was still considering whether to open or not. The slopes are in a bad condition due to a lack of snow, but the ski instructor said it was better higher up, especially up the old chair lift. But the old chair lift would definitely not open. Incredible that we are at the mercy of one man. We are very disappointed to have come to Kolasin.
The 1450 resort is also still in complete disarray. The parking situation is even worse than it was last year. Where there was parking in the past, construction sites for hotels have shot up. Mud everywhere. At the moment there is zero parking available. There seems to be some construction for a car park nearby, but it is far from finished. Worst experience ever.
There is also no co-operation between the two resorts 1450 and 1600. The tickets are not valid in the other resort.
The management and organization of the two ski resorts really needs improvements. Don't come here unless the situation improves.
Skiing 2025. Nice piste, plenty of options and routes. Be careful where to get drinks/food: only two options and one is criminal. Area is upcoming, lot’s of apartments being build still. Parking was difficult though: be there early!!
Beautiful mountain with two ski resorts there: Kolasin 1450 and Kolasin 1600. There was enough snow in the trails but... The Parking lot does not exists on Kolasin 1450. Everything is in complete disarray. There were pregnant problems with electricity so the installation did not work for several hours on some days. The connection between the two ski resorts also not working the ski lift K7 has not been working since the beginning of the season. Prices of food and drinks in 2 cafes at the beginning of the 1450 ski resort are very high and the service is bad. The ski slopes are poorly prepared compared to those at Kolasin 1600 ski resort. It's a shame that the corporation between these two ski resorts are at the poor level. I advised the management of the collection 1450 ski resort to follow the example of the state-owned Kolasin 1600 where there are no problems with all of the above. The prices are reasonable and scopes are well prepared the parking is organised right next to the slope.
Snow was ok, skilifts and related services are ok, tracks were ok the ones that were open. Some tracks were closed for no apparent reason.
Parking was an issue this year. One restaurant has more than quadruple prices of 2 years ago and the other one was too noisy, food too expensive and bery bad service. The waiter was angry because we oredered too many things 🙂
Amazing view to go when its snowing! I really love this place you have so much activities like ski, snowboard, sdriving now machines and also you can go to te top of kolasin by a cable car. I would suggest to visit this place at least once! Most importantly dont forget to bring a camera with you unless you want to miss some panoramic landscapes and cool pictures! 😉

Renting skis, sticks and boots is 10€.

It is very beautiful and peaceful here. The courtyard and surrounding area are incredibly well-kept. You can go into a large church and a small old one, more like a cell, only you can't take pictures inside. There is a small bell tower, you can drink and wash yourself with holy water, sit in incredible peace on a bench, see the local apiary and carefully grown flowers.

Gorgeous place, very beautiful and spiritual monastery, there is a playground and canteen where you can get basic beverages and snacks, more than friendly prices.

The wall frescos in the monastery are just amazing. You have to go there to see that, no pictures were allowes to take inside. Unfortunately there was a really angry woman who does not like European youngsters because most of them wore too short clothes. To go there women ans girls especially! should covere their skin (sholders and knees).

Serene river crosses Podgorica!
Beautiful canyon which road is following with many tunnels and then going up to the mountains covered in mist. Road should be better maintained and renovated but it is also amazing to see what was done in the past without modern technology.

What a beautiful and scenic lake. The water here is so clear and blue, and the beautiful rocks that surround the lake are great to sit on. There was almost no shade so keep that in mind, and try not to get too close to the trees since there are a ton of mosquitoes there. Keep this in mind and you will have a great time here. The lake is not crowded at all and it's so quiet here that it makes a fantastic place to rest.

I know that everyone is going for a different problems they might face, whether is health or other issues. But the negativity the people are bringing is just not right.
We are all there to find out peace. I have to say at the moments I did. I enjoyed my barefoot walking on the stairs from the parking to the monastery. At the monastery as well. But I had to isolate mentally in order to find the peace. The people are yelling and annoyed by everything. Like, all right people, we are all waiting in line for the same purpose, that's why we are there. There is no need to skipping the line and playing smart. Regarding the sleeping, yes it is on the ground and there are a lot, but a lot of blankets enough for everyone. Don't grab it, don't push it. There is no your space or my space for sleeping. It is open for everyone and It is just a corner where you need to calm and huddle and nap, you are not in a hotel there to sleep in luxury and take the whole space. But intolerance was way over the head to many people,even to the guards that are working there which are constantly yelling. It doesn't matter if there are many people or not every day, respect to each other, helping around, navigating and maybe creating some rules might help. Paint some lines for sleeping, where people need to make open space to the toilet or the water, because skipping on the blankets makes them mad. And please oh please clean those toilets. The toilets are so far away, but the container trash is so close that people are practically sleeping in front of them. It is a holy place, I would love to go again, maybe at different period of the year (definitely not summer again)

you are in the area, I definitely recommend a visit. It’s best to go early in the morning, as it gets very crowded later on. There are two parking areas available – one at the base and another higher up for cars. The place itself is beautiful and has a spiritual atmosphere, though it can get quite busy with many visitors.
Beautiful and authentic monastery.
Half an hour is enough to look around. No caffe or restaurant there, probably because it's an active monastery.
A shop with icons, crosses and other religions staff as well as some souvenirs is present on site.
Road to it is quite slippery due to a lot of stones in asphalt mass - be careful especially if road wet.
Interesting place to visit. Neat how they've perfectly blended in the building into the rocks. Looking at the amount of parking places around here and the waiting line structures at the entrance it can get crazy busy. When we were here end of October nobody was here. If the barrier to the last segment is open, you can just drive through it and park your car right in front of this place for free. Quite a few parking places there. We started by parking at the last official parking lot before the barriers at first, but from there it's still quite a climb to get to this monastery so we turned around and decided to drive all the way up, which was perfectly fine.
The views over the valley are nice. Not much to see other than that. You can get inside some rooms of the building, but it's not that interesting. If you don't hold a religious relationship with this place, it's nice for a quick visit, but otherwise, especially when it's busy, I would say skip it.
A beautiful monastery in the middle of a mountain. The walk up is a big one and i would definitely recommend bringing water and good shoes on a hot day.
We waited for about 10 minutes to get into the monastery itself and we had to wear a little piece of clothing to cover our knees.

A trip to Montenegro should include a visit to this incredible Monastery. Many go as a Pilgrimage, but no matter why you choose to visit, it's can experience not to miss. There are a couple parking lots. The upper lot is the best option, but still requires over 150 steps to climb.
The place is a must visit regardless of your religious beliefs. For those who believe - it's considered the most sacred place in Montenegro and probably one of the most visited for the pilgrimage in the entire Balkans. For those who not too much in religion - the monastery was built in the vertical cliff high in the mountains in the 17th century. Not the everyday sight, isn't it? The place is well known for the miracles happening there. Those who come there for the pilgrimage walk 3000 steps upstairs barefoot. Those who come just to see can drive up the slope and walk the remaining part from the parking lot along the zigzag road or take the same steps. Cars with disabled persons or small babies can drive up to the top straight to the monastery. The views from the top are stunning and tend to set you to the meditation. Those who believe can enter the small chapel with 17th frescoes and approach the remains of Saint Basil of Ostrog, pray, get the blessing, it's a very peaceful and blessing place.

The parking near the monastery is only for disabled people and (at least that’s what the sign says; we were not allowed there). So, if the general parking is far, you have to climb a lot of unsafe and unstable stairs.

Grand & spectacular Orthodox church, both outside & inside. Awesome piece of architecture & art. But nobody respect the solemness of this holy place. Men & women went in with tank top & shorts, exposing their shoulders & knees. The 2 young guys working there didn’t bother at all.

For a cathedral modest in size, but magnificent on the inside and unique on the exterior. The reliefs on the outer walls are great.
This was a spectacular Church in Podgorica. The design reminds you of much older classical designs that are rarely seen constructed with this eye for history. The murals throughout the church have been painted by true artist and are an endless joy to find the stories of the bible adorned across the walls and ceilings of this beautiful Church! Consecration occurred on October 7, 2013, on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan on freedom of religion, and it was attended by the heads of the Eastern Orthodox Churches, Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilus III and Russian Patriarch Cyril, together with Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije and other Metropolitanate clerics.

This is a such a peaceful, sereen church in a nice neighborhood. The parking next to it is cheap (we payed 50 cent for 45 min) we were with a large mobilehome. There a cafe with a small children playground next to it, maybe not bad if they would clean it a bit and repair the broken items.
This is an impressive and beautiful landmark in Podgorica. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, with intricate details and vibrant frescoes that capture your attention. The sheer size of the building and the peaceful atmosphere inside make it a wonderful place to visit, whether for worship or to appreciate the art and history. The only downside was that it can get a bit crowded with tourists at times, but overall, it’s a must-see when in Podgorica.

Don't follow the road used by cars - it's longer.

This monastery is special because it is a replica of the one in Kosovo, hence its importance to followers of the Serbian Orthodox faith.
Whether inside or outside the buildings, one is struck by how peaceful it is, not to mention the beautiful views all around you.
The ceiling of the main church rivals someone the best in the world and the tomb of Jovan Ducic can be seen in the corner.
In short, do not miss if you are in the area. The climb to the top is a little steep but you can also drive, if need be.
The Church of the Annunciation, being located on the top of the hill, offers an excellent panoramic view of the city of Trebigne, a beautiful, well-kept and quiet Orthodox place of worship. In the churchyard there is also a restaurant with a terrace where we had breakfast. Parking and toilets are free.
What an amazing temple and area this place is. Once you drive all the way to the top you are greated by such an amazing scenery. I could not believe how beautiful it was. One of the best hill view in Bosnia. The inside of the temple is also one of the pretiest I have ever seen. If you are in the area I highly recommend to go there and visit the temple and admire the amazing landscape displayed in front of you.
A beautiful temple on top of a hill with great views on the city of Trebinje. There's also a cafe on top. The only downside is the way there, if you are travelling by car you can park there comfortably but by foot it's a 2.5km hike from the city center uphill.

There’s a cafe next door and a huge carpark. There was an event when we went and the place was crowded and we almost couldn’t find a parking lot but the vibes were great.
We walked up from Trebinje’s old town—about 30 minutes of gentle uphill, with birdsong and cypress shade as our companions. The path winds through quiet neighborhoods before opening up to a breathtaking view: the Hercegovačka Gračanica Temple, perched like a crown on Crkvina Hill.
The temple itself is a serene masterpiece. Byzantine-style architecture, vivid frescoes, and a gilded altar that catches the light just so. Built to honor poet Jovan Dučić’s final wish, it’s both a spiritual sanctuary and a poetic tribute. Don’t miss the embedded stone from Kosovo—a subtle nod to heritage and memory.
There’s a cozy café nearby if you want to linger with the view. Whether you walk or drive, this place rewards you with peace, perspective, and a panorama that feels like a blessing.

It's a small picturesque island, easily accessible by boat from Perast (5 EUR per person, two way ticket, the boat is available every 10 minutes).
The Church has a fee, 3 EUR per person. It's small but beautiful, has a museum inside and you can learn some history for the area.
And the views from the island are more than spectacular.
The place is a must visit if you plan to go to Montenegro.

Visiting Our Lady of the Rocks was an absolute highlight of my trip to Montenegro! Perched gracefully on its tiny man-made island in the Bay of Kotor, this stunning church feels like something out of a fairytale. The boat ride over is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sparkling Adriatic waters, and then suddenly the island appears—small, serene, and steeped in history.
The church itself is a gem, adorned with beautiful frescoes, intricate paintings, and an atmosphere that radiates peace and devotion. Every corner tells a story, from the legend of the seamen who created the island stone by stone, to the centuries of faith preserved within its walls. The museum attached is small but fascinating, housing a rich collection of artifacts and votive offerings left by sailors.
What struck me most was the sense of harmony between the island, the church, and the surrounding nature—it feels like a sacred meeting point between humanity and the sea. Whether you’re religious, a history lover, or simply someone seeking beauty and tranquility, Our Lady of the Rocks is a must-visit.
The church is located on a small island and the atmosphere is very pleasant when you get there. The island is in the middle of the Bay of Kotor, you can see Perast well from the island.
According to the legend, local seamen found an icon of Madonna and child on a rock sticking out of the sea way back in the 15h century. Thinking it a miracle, they started to slowly bring rocks to create this artificial island upon which a Catholic church was eventually erected. Even today there is an event called фашинада/fašinada whereby locals bring more rocks to drop into the sea and, thus, expand the island further.
A fascinated story, and indeed, the church and the island are undeniably beautiful, a true pearl of the sea so to say.
However, lamentably, it is precisely this sublime beauty that attracts and uncomfortable amount of people to the island, which renders visiting this place a bit less pleasant than it would be otherwise.
Also, to enter the church itself requires paying as well, which is not something I can subscribe to, but if you're willing, make sure to have some cash at the ready if you want to get inside.
It’s a nice little place. We went kayaking to the place and could leave it there safely. The church is a scam, you have to pay to enter a small church when most are already paying to come to the island by boat?… it’s a cute little place for some pictures, but you’ll have seen everything in about 5-10 minutes.
This place is a must-visit when you’re in Perast! Take the small boats to get there and don’t be tricked by the people at the parking entrance asking for €20 per person. The island is beautiful for photos and has a special sense of peace. I couldn’t leave without mentioning the photo of Mother Teresa, our great Albanian woman, above which visitors had left their rosaries 🙏

My only complaint is about the bathroom setup: since there’s no divider between the shower area and the toilet/sink, the bathroom floor often ends up wet, especially if previous guests don’t sweep up after showering. It’s a small inconvenience, but worth mentioning.
Overall, I would 100% recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Kotor. Great value, wonderful people, and a comfortable stay!

My group’s stay here was awesome! The front desk staff was very willing to help with any questions we had whether it was travel logistics or any information about the town. They helped us find hikes to do, food to try, and more. The rooms were well maintained and the bathroom was cleaned every day. Lastly, the events hosted the by hostel allowed us to connect with the other guests which made our experience feel very rewarding. Would highly recommend to all!
Honestly the room was very very small but it's okay. I took the ensuit room which means private. The mattress was was very very bad. The sheets where stiff and old, so it was not nice on the skin. The pillow was very uncomfy. And there were a lot of noise from downstairs. I'm not recommending. If you want a good night sleep you shouldn't go there.
I paid 5 Euros for breakfast, which was supposed to include tea or coffee. I asked for a coffee, but they only had pre-sweetened packets. I made a simple and basic request: a coffee without sugar.
The manager's reaction was unbelievable. She told me that in two years, nobody had ever made this request. She refused, told me to just drink tea, and then accused me of being rude for simply asking.
Instead of finding a solution—like sending an employee to a nearby shop to buy a simple jar of instant coffee—she escalated the situation by calling the owner.
The owner was even worse. He was immediately aggressive and threatened me, saying I was "playing with fire." He then asked how I had booked my stay (Booking.com, etc.), which was clearly an attempt to find out if I could leave a negative review. When I told him I hadn't booked through a website, his tone changed, but he continued to be hostile.
He and the manager both insisted I was being rude. The manager even mentioned that there were cameras, as if to imply I had been aggressive, which is a complete fabrication. I was calm; they were the ones who were hostile. The owner then wanted me to leave the hostel.
I have never experienced such terrible, aggressive service. This wasn't a complex request. It was a cup of black coffee without sugar. To be accused, threatened, and blamed for their failure to provide the most basic item is unacceptable. This is not how you treat a paying customer.
Old Town Kotor Hostel is a fantastic place to stay. The hosts and volunteers are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is ideal for meeting other travelers. I booked a shared room, which was absolutely fantastic; it was very clean, and you can tell they pay attention to that detail. Super comfortable.
The best hostel in the Balkans!! I was here as a guest in March and the atmosphere even then in the off season was immaculate, they make sure to take care of you and that you have a fun time even without the summer activities. I loved it so much that I came back as a volunteer for two and a half months. Hands down, the best experience of my travelling. Ridiculously amazing social environment, the fellow volunteers take care of the guests in a way I’ve never seen (hosting activities and showing the guests the best spots in their spare time). The housekeeping is kept to such a high standard as well which makes it so comfortable for the guests. I made connections to so many people and majority of them told me it was the best hostel they’ve ever been to and that it feels like home. Which is exactly what it is, a home away from home!! Milan cares so much about everyone’s experience and will never let anyone leave with a bad taste in their mouth. I couldn’t recommend this hostel more, it’s somewhere you absolutely can’t miss.
Loved this hostel so much. The place felt really safe, as a solo female traveler, and the staff is amazing. Especially Fatih, Roxie, Sami, Nick and Milan the manager made my stay so much fun. Really recommend to join all the events here!
Fantastic location in the old town. Staff was super nice and attentive to guests' needs. We got a private room which was clean with a beautiful view of the street below. AC was nice and strong. Breakfast every morning for 6€ and activities for 23€. Boat tour and sunset fort bbq were both great. Would definitely come back.

We’ve been based in Port Montenegro for four years now, and it just keeps getting better. The infrastructure is constantly evolving in the best possible way — everything is modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The entire marina is surrounded by lush greenery, which gives it a very relaxed and luxurious feel. The promenade is absolutely stunning, perfect for evening strolls or morning coffee with a view. There are also some truly fantastic cafés and restaurants — stylish, with great service and high-quality food. It’s a pleasure to be here year after year.

This is a must do as tourists from cruise ships and normal holiday makers swamped this stunning Bay. It doesn't really surprise me that the Bay of Kotor is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Although very touristy, the bay is definitely worth a visit. The towns and villages around the bay, especially Herceg Novi, Tivat, Perast and Kotor, have many beautiful sights to offer, and of course a boat trip across the bay should not be missing from the to-do list. The views of the bay and the surrounding mountains are especially beautiful from the water. In short, the Bay of Kotor has a lot to offer the visitor!

This bay is awesome. We had a speedboat cruise and it was great. The view of the bay from the mountains is amazing. You have to see the bay from different places.
The site belongs to the UNESCO list and one can right away see why. Very close to Dubrovnik, it offers stunning views and is a bit less over touristic, though still very touristic. Views from up the hill are worse the quite demanding hike... or you can take a car or bike up the serpentine.
For ones who miss the sun, the sea and the majestic mountains... a super city of freshness... both natural and historical buildings, definitely worth a visit

It sounds like the Sokol Fortress offers a unique historical experience with well-maintained facilities and stunning views.
However, my main concern is the entrance fee of €10, which I feel is too high for the size of the site, especially in comparison to larger European fortresses with lower entry costs.
While I understand the importance of maintaining such historical landmarks and covering operational costs, I believe that a lower fee, such as €5, would be more appropriate.
Despite this, for those willing to pay the fee, the fortress could still be a worthwhile visit due to its historical significance and picturesque surroundings.

Don't miss this park. From Sveti Stefan you will walk for a few minutes through the park and end up at Milocer beach. The view that will appear in front of you is simply picturesque. The park is very green, clean and quiet. You can take beautiful photos and it is such an inspiring environment for painters.

It’s better to take a bus since parking costs 3 euros per hour and most of the time it’s packed.
At the beach it self there is nothing so bring your own food and water. There is shop but 15 mins up hill.
You can walk through the park and reach the outstanding view over Saint Stephan island.
Please do take trash after you since this is one of the cleanest beaches. Let’s keep it this way. ☺️

I recommend eating at the restaurant at the top. It is well worth the money for the fantastic view and the food is good.
I also recommend visiting the war museum at the top, which we all found very informative and I found actually that my teenagers could relate to this more easily than the world wars, since it was relatively recent. It is so shocking to see images of Dubrovnik under attack.

You can buy tickets at the entrance. We bought only cable car tickets, but there are also Dubrovnik card tickets available. Sunset is a peak hour. You can walk down with nice view to the city. If you walk aside a little bit (sunset direction) there will be less crowded spots to enjoy the sunset.
Beautiful scenery. Worth every penny. We went on a sunny day. The day we wanted to go the cable cars were not running due to high winds and rain.. so we drove up the narrow road that leads up to that point. I would not fo that. It's a 2 way narrow road. If u can gallows either taxis or someone it's fine otherwise pulling over is hard on to gravel.
Gorgeous views over Dubrovnik. Sunset was amazing from the top. Walk a little towards the left (cable car behind you) to find some beautiful nature and even better views. We also bumped into a herd of goats. Queue down after sunset was almost 1h, right before no queue whatsoever (neither up or down).
The only negative for this cable car ride is the cost of round trip for 30 EUR. You can get a flight ticket from London dubrovnik for the exact same price, and the views will make you feel you redeem the cost of it but I remember paying much lesser fee for longer cable car rides.
The views are amazing , there is only one half decent restaurant on the top to have a beer and enjoy the views, and if you are going around sunset time, the uphill rides become very crowded and long queues so plan your trip accordingly
Recommend taking the cable car... great views and access to a swish restaurant/bar at the top. 30 euros for a return trip but well worth it. Smooth journey. Takes about 5 minutes. Didn't eat at the restaurant but had lovely, reasonably priced, drinks whilst enjoying the fabulous views.
It was okay overall. You do have great views of the old town. I wish I had gone up during sunset. I recommend only going up iif the weather is good otherwise the view wouldn't be worth going up.

If you have time, I suggest getting a one way ticket and then hiking back down Mount which takes around 30-40 minutes if you’re in good physical condition.
The Dubrovnik Cable Car is one of the best experiences to do in the city! The ride up is smooth and the views over the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding islands are absolutely breathtaking. The time spent at the top was amazing — whether enjoying the scenery, taking photos, or just relaxing. A must-do when visiting Dubrovnik!

Beautiful but super crowded. You feel like you are stuck in someone’s pocket. You wanna take a picture you have 1000 people in front of you, either blocking the view or waiting to take the same picture. The food (mainly pastries and ice cream) around there was expensive and not very good quality. The boulevard looks nice if you get there super early in the morning, like 6am to see it empty.
Main Street of Old Town, Dubrovnik . Full of people at all times. The souvenirs there are selling here are at high price, understandable.

A lovely apartment located just beside the old city wall (Vrata od Pile). A traditional style of architecture with a renovated interior. One bedroom with a double bed (extra bed available), a living room with a small kitchen devided by an american style bar table and a bathroom with a shower. Very cozy and clean. Has all necessary domestic equipment.

Ottima posizione per visitare le mura di Dubrovnik, host super disponibile e gentilissimo,consiglierei solo qualche accorgimento in più per la camera che purtroppo risulta piuttosto umida,molto bene la presenza di lavatrice con tanto di tabs a disposizione per eventuali lavaggi ma poi, dove stendo?il bagno carino ma con una doccia che si allaga e la mancanza di sigillature sotto il piatto doccia tende a buttare fuori acqua anche molto dopo la doccia.

A visit to the iconic Dubrovnik City Walls is an absolute must for anyone exploring this stunning coastal gem. Stretching nearly 1,940 meters, these impressive fortifications are among Europe’s finest and feature a mix of round towers, rectangular fortresses, and bastions that date back to the 15th century. Great way to see the whole of the Old Town and views out to sea. Would definitely recommend if you're visiting Dubrovnik. It's worth getting the Dubrovnik Pass which will allow you access to the Walls and many other activities/sites in Dubrovnik.

The 'must do' thing when you are in Dubrovnik. On a good day you can see for miles from the top of the walls and it is probably the best place to view the old city buildings from.
There are really nice views of Fort Lovrijenac from the walls and you can spot lots of Game of Thrones filming locations from them. Highly recommended and don't forget that the price includes a visit to Lovrijenac as well.

Amazing city walls, absolutely beautiful scenery from everywhere you walk. The walls are in amazing condition and are so clean and well looked after. Lots of walking and lots and lots of steps, but worth it for the views.
Beautiful scenery - it shows you the true glory of Dubrovnik. We went during a rainy day and even then it was still gorgeous. Lots of little cafes along the way with toilets (which we used to hide out in during the heavy rain!)
The walls are a must do it you are visiting Dubrovnik. It takes about 1.5-2.5 hours to complete as per your place. The views are just fantastic.

The wall ticket also gives access to Fort Lorijenac for a duration of 3 days so don't throw it away.
The ticket costs 250 HRK.
Came to know later that the Dubrovnik card costs 250 HRK and it covers the wall and a bunch of other places so please do check that out first.

The walls of Dubrovnik are iconic, no doubt, but are they worth 35 Euro per person or almost $40? I'm not sure about that. As glamorous as it sounds, walking the walls is not that pleasant. There is no shade up there whatsoever, and the views, though initially stunning, quickly become repetitious, and in concert with the heat, they turn to old news as you start searching for shade, water and eventually the exit. I, for one, did not finish the circuit and bowed out before the heat stroke had the chance to do me in.
Lovely scenery from walls. Costs 35 Euro per person. We have been there with one 6yrs old and one 2.5yrs old, also our foldable stroller was with us. It was not too easy with stroller because you need to carry a lot. If you have foldable and light weight stroller, you can take it with you.
The easiest way to start is from Maritime Museum, less steps and easy to climb up. Rest of the entrances have more and steep steps.
It is one way walk, and you do not have to take round tour. We left the walls from Pile gate.
An incredible experience! Would recommend everyone to do it. There are roughly 1000 steps and the distance is approximately 2 kilometres but don't let that fool you, it is a serious workout. They advised that it should take an hour but it took us double that doing it with two small children. In the end the kids were exhausted and we were not able to visit the fort (the City walls entrance ticket allows you access to the nearby Fort Lovrijenac). Would advise to start early in the day if you're visiting in the summer as it gets quite hot post 11am.
Great view of the whole city. 35 Euros is a fair amount, but if you're interested in doing something else too (like visiting the fortress outside the walls which is 15 euros on its own) then it makes the price much more justified. There are breaks for food and drinks along the 2.1k walk. Lots of steep stairs, be a bit careful if you don't like heights.
Amazing though, definitely recommend as an activity.

Amazing island is waiting to be discovered. We were very glad that we had the chance to visit this amazing place. With a ferry every 30 minutes you can get there early and spend the day exploring the place. The is a lot of walking to be done if you do want to explore the island but you can reward yourself with a swim either in the Dead Sea or by the rocks. There's a restaurant on the island, a cafe/ bar and another one by the lake.
Visiting Lokrum Island was an absolute highlight of our trip to Dubrovnik. We definitely enjoyed our time on this beautiful, tranquil nature reserve. It’s the perfect, accessible escape from the Old Town crowds.
Getting there is quick and straightforward. It’s just a 15-minute ferry ride from the city's Old Port. We found ticket purchasing to be easy, whether you opt to buy online or at the counter right in the port.
Once on the island, you immediately feel the difference. It truly is a beautifully silent, isolated place, filled with lush greenery and the most lovely peacocks who roam the grounds freely. For activities, there are great offers to swim in the crystal-clear Adriatic, so be sure to pack your bathing suit.
And for Game of Thrones fans, the Iron Throne is here!
I highly recommend dedicating at least a half-day to exploring this wonderful, peaceful haven.
A must visit especially for the fans of the Games of Thrones. The throne is here and many people choose to lineup for a photo opt.
The ferry services to and from the island are at the old port that’s a 15 minute boat ride. The boat schedule runs every 30 minutes with two boats. The ticket sales can be purchased online or at the ticket booth. It’s 30 euros round trip including admission.
You’ll find many areas to swim and enjoy the scenery. The popular swimming spots have lifeguards.
There are restaurants and eateries located throughout the island. Worth a visit and less crowds here.
This is a magical place only 10-15 minutes boat ride from Dubrovnik port. It is a protected island and there are plenty of beautiful peacocks all around the place.
For GoT lovers this is the city of Qarth. You will find maps all over the island with the important locations that you have to visit, there is a beautiful beach and a lake.
The boat to the island costs 30 euros per person but you get a 20% discount if you have the city pass.
Totally recommend it, you cannot miss it if you visit Dubrovnik
The Island of Lokrum is a beautiful place to visit with the family. 🌿 The scenery is amazing, and it’s a great spot to swim, relax, and explore. You’ll also enjoy seeing the animals roaming around and the variety of trees and plants across the island.
The only thing to keep in mind is that there’s quite a bit of walking involved 😛—so be prepared with comfortable shoes. Overall, it’s a fun, natural, and refreshing experience.
It was fine. The trails up to the observatory are horrible and should not be attempted by anyone unfamiliar to long hikes or rough trails. The descent is no better. The beaches are rocks but the swimming appears good. They clearly want you to stay by the parts they can make money off you by their bar and cabana by the rocks. The ferry is timely and the trip is easy and quick. Overall if you can take you own boat or trip plan to spent €30 to hang out and bring drinks/snacks to hang by the water it is worth it. Otherwise save your money and just go to a beach
We visited Lokrum Island off-season, so it wasn’t crowded at all. The boat ride from Dubrovnik itself was already an amazing experience, and the trip is definitely worth the price. The island is beautiful, lush and green, with a few cafes and restaurants to relax in. There are also plenty of spots to sunbathe and enjoy the sea. A must-visit, especially for Game of Thrones fans! And of course the peacocks😱😍🦚🏰🌊

The Library in the Citadel is a small but historically rich part of the Budva citadel, which has been expanded and enhanced by different ruling empires. The barracks wing, constructed by Austria-Hungary in 1836, is the largest section of the citadel. Visitors can enjoy a stunning view from the top of the citadel for a fee. Inside, there's a modest library with an assortment of books on various subjects and even some unexpected items.
Two libraries are included in the fortress tour. At the lower level, there is also an exhibition of ships, while at the top you get an amazing view. Definitely worth a visit. The entrance fee is €4.40.

Nice view from the top but the library is just two small rooms with a random collection. The museum was also very underwhelming. No insights on the building history whatsoever. Only accept cash.
When you buy a ticket to the citadel they say that there are two libraries, a museum, models of old ships and an observation deck. In fact, the two libraries are just shelves with books that you can't read, the ship models are a small room with different models of ships that have nothing to do with Budva, just bought at a flea market. The only thing is the observation deck, from which you can see the city. If you are ready to pay 5.5 euros for a photo, then this is for you. Otherwise, it's a scam, you pay for something that is not there. A typical scam for tourists. Those who make such "sights" should be ashamed.
Save yourself the money. The “old ships museum” could have been your grandpa’s model ship hobby project. The “library” could be your grandpa’s attic.

There are 2 libraries inside but you can not touch the books of course. There are illustrations of old newspapers on the walls which are interesting. The view is really worth to see but 5,5 euros too much for this attraction. Instead of paying 5,5 euros to this overrated place, sit outside of the citadel, listen to the street musicians and give them the money.
The atmosphere is quiet, and the view of the Old City from the upper floor is worth seeing. The lady at the door is polite and helpful.
Just 2 rooms with books behind glass, untouchable, unreadable. This shouldn't be called a library. €5.50 fee to enter this Citadel isn't justifiable, overpriced, and more of a tourist trap.

Mogren beach is a popular destination in Montenegro, located just 150 meters from the Old Town of Budva. It has been awarded the Blue Flag qualification for its high-quality water, maintenance, and service. The beach consists of two parts connected by a small promontory and offers ample sunbeds, making it suitable for families with children and couples. Additionally, there are beach cafes available for refreshments and food.
Really nice beach if you are willing to pay 20€ per person for a sunbed. If you are here in September definitely go it wasn’t too crowded and the weather and water were perfect. The view was amazing too.

The beach seemed beautiful with crystal clear waters. Unfortunately on the day we visited, it was very crowded, hardly any places to walk or sit on the beach. Would recommend going earlier in the day if you want a sunbed, even so, it would get crowded eventually, so if you don't mind that, it's still a nice pebble beach.
3 stars reflects the complete over crowding of the beach. Yes scenery is beautiful but you can't really enjoy and relax. Worth a working visit but if you want to swim and have space there are loads of other options.
We went in October and had a great time!! The beach is so nice. There also weren’t to many people around. There was enough space to lay down. All the bars, stores and the toilets were closes however. But that is normal for the off season. It’s a great place to take pictures and overall enjoy the nature of Budva!!
We visited Mogren Beach in the middle of summer, around noon, and it was extremely crowded. We walked from Old Budva City Center all the way to Mogren 2 Restaurant along a stunning, well-paved path right on the water — the walk itself is definitely worth the trip.
Once you arrive, you’ll find that the beach is mostly fine rocks and pebbles, but there are wooden pathways to make getting around easier. Loungers, chairs, and umbrellas are available for rent (€20–30 per person, depending on the row you choose). There are also lockers for valuables, plenty of restaurants, and places to grab drinks.
Because it was so busy, we ended up sitting by the rocks instead of renting loungers. A big tip: bring water shoes — the rocks can be painful to walk on. The water temperature was typical for the Adriatic in summer: refreshing and perfect for cooling off.
Overall, Mogren Beach is a beautiful spot with plenty of amenities, but in peak summer it can be frustrating to find space. If you don’t mind the crowds, it’s worth the visit for the views, the clear water, and the lively atmosphere.
The beach itself is simply wonderful, very beautiful pebbles and crystal clear water. However, about 90% of the time it’s ridiculously overcrowded and impossible to enjoy your time here, unfortunately, choosing a less crowded beach in the area would be a better option.

Nice spot with a beautiful view but 95% of the beach is privet so you must to pay 30/40€ for an umbrella and 5.5€ for a beer. Really crazy prices.
