Errant Rocks

Rock
Outdoor Activities
Errant Rocks, also known as Bledne Skaly, is a series of named rock formations located in the Stołowe Mountains near the border of Czechia in Kudowa-Zdroj, western Poland. The area offers stunning natural beauty and a unique hiking experience. The rocks form a natural labyrinth where visitors can navigate through narrow paths and crevices, making for an exciting and adventurous journey.
Fantastic scenery views and great day out there with the family. Very interesting walks in twin massive rocks..same tunnels was very hard to get through, due my weight. Very tidy, but was a challenge adventure. Not advice for small babies and if you have same extra weight or back pain. The National Park could provide more portable toilets in 1 more spot, just after the rocks walking end.
Pedro C — Google review
Excellent attraction - I would recommend buying tickets for parking beforehand since without parking you need to walk up the 3km beforehand until you get to the rocks and parking is sparse ( unless someone wants to walk up ), other than that the trail is excellent, views are great and its funny trying to get through the more narrow spaces. I would go again to visit more of these rocks other than the tourist trail we did.
Luiza W — Google review
Błędne Skały in Poland is a very interesting and unique place. The rocks create a natural maze with narrow paths and unusual shapes. Walking through it feels like a small adventure. The area is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature. I really enjoyed exploring Błędne Skały and think it is worth visiting.
Daria — Google review
A truly unique place that is worth visiting. I recommend purchasing your access tickets in advance and especially reserving the time you want to enter the parking lot. Access to the parking lot is at a fixed time and if you do not show up a few minutes before the scheduled time you risk losing your spot. Access is by car on a narrow road with a length of approximately 3 km to the paid parking lot. There is free parking at the bottom but this means that you will have to travel a few more km round trip to access the rock labyrinth.
Enjoyfamilytravels — Google review
Right on the border between Poland and Czechia lies a hidden gem truly worth visiting. I honestly didn’t expect much—I’ve seen plenty of places called “Rock City” before. But this one surprised me. What makes it different? The trail winds through the rocks, not just around them. Sometimes you have to crawl, squeeze through narrow gaps, or twist your body to fit through tiny loopholes. I felt like a kid on a giant natural playground—it was pure fun :)
Sergej M — Google review
The Errant Rocks (pl: Błedne Skały) in the Table Mountains(pl: Góry Stołowe) in Poland are an intricate labyrinth of rocks. Their formation is estimated to have taken millions of years. This popular tourist attraction is located within a national park. Nearby are viewing points, parking lots, restrooms, and educational trails.
Robert O — Google review
Absolute gem, rocky formations with a great path between them, at times very narrow passages, so some fitness required and no claustrophobia. If you’re tall (like me) be ready for some serious crouching. Not for chubby people as you might get stuck in some really tight spots. The views from the top are amazing though so still worth the visit even if not accessing the “maze” it self.
Filip S — Google review
Errant Rocks is located at 853 m above sea level and has an area of 21 hectares. The rocks are here about 6 to 11 meters high and you move here on your own like in real rocky labyrinth. I don’t recommend using here huge sport rucksacks as it may be difficult to move with them. The trail has a few hundred meters and sometimes the tourists have to squeeze through very small rock crevices so if you are too fat- the place is not for you. It is really amazing experience.

Skull Chapel

Mentioned on
8 lists
Shrine
Sights & Landmarks
The Skull Chapel, located in Czermna near Kudowa Zdroj, is a modest 18th-century chapel that serves as a haunting memorial to the victims of war and disease. The walls and ceiling are adorned with over 3,000 human skulls and bones, with an additional 20,000 to 30,000 filling the crypt below. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior offers a chilling reminder of the tragedies of history.
If you have never seen any skulls chapels this place is worth visiting. It is small but is done with a purpose, and you see the history, and you understand the reason why it has been done. The story that will told inside about this place. It worth visiting it if you are nearby.
Anton M — Google review
Amazing Chapel. We had a very informative guide that explained this was a memorial to the people and soldiers that were killed during the Thirty Years War, disease such as syphilis, and a wife and husband murdered. Then he opened the trap door on the floor full of bones. 3,000 skulls. No photo rule for interior but easily can be viewed on Google.
The P — Google review
In 1776 human skulls and bones were found near the bell tower. These were victims of the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and numerous epidemics. The human remains were cleaned and collected in the chapel. Currently, there are approximately 30,000 of them. No photos are allowed inside.
Tripsforgroups — Google review
Spot to be seen during a visit to the Lower Silesian voivodeship, the Table Mountains Landscape Park. The chapel, whose decor is real human bones and skulls. A place of contemplation.
Agnieszka P — Google review
Interesting place and story about how it was build. Unfortunately they take way to many people at once. We couldn't see much or hear from back.
M K — Google review
Huge scam. In reality, the place is very small and looks fake. They advertise it as something much bigger than it really is – the photos are very misleading. Taking pictures is not allowed, probably just to prevent people from showing what a scam it is.
Kacper W — Google review
Story told by a real person, however, no photos allowed.
Johnny P — Google review
Located in the small Polish town of Czermna, the Skull Chapel is a small and unassuming chapel. However you would be shocked by what’s hidden behind the wooden door. The skulls and bones of over 3,000 victims of wars and plagues cover the walls and ceiling and another 21,000 skeletons fillings the church crypt below. The chapel was built in 1776 by Bohemian local parish priest Vaclav Tomasek, who served as a mass grave for local people who died from war and disease during that period of time, the chapel was intended as a shrine for the dead, as well as a “memento mori” for the living. The Skull Chapel is the only such monument in Poland, and one of six in whole Europe.

Adršpach-Teplice Rocks

Mentioned on
6 lists
National reserve
Nature & Parks
Adršpach-Teplice Rocks is a nature reserve featuring impressive sandstone rock formations, perfect for tours and rock climbing. The rocks were formed 85 million years ago under the Cretaceous sea, making it feel like a prehistoric wonderland. Visitors can explore clearly marked paths and enjoy the stunning beauty of nature. In winter, the area can be slippery but still worth visiting, while in summer, it's an ideal place to cool down.
Adršpach Rock Formations – Like Another World Absolutely surreal place – it really feels like stepping into another world. A beautiful destination, perfect for families. Everything is incredibly clean, especially considering how many tourists visit. The first time we went was on a weekend – and wow, it was packed! No tickets left, no parking spots. It was chaos. I highly recommend going on a weekday morning. There are way fewer people, which makes it much easier to walk, climb the stairs, and just enjoy the experience without being rushed or bumped into. Make sure to buy your tickets (and parking) online in advance – saves you a lot of stress and ensures you can enter on time. If you’re wondering whether it’s doable with kids – it is! We managed the entire trail with our 4-year-old. We carried them up the steeper stairs, but overall, it was totally worth it. As for the extra boat ride – there’s not that much to see (a short trip through marshy water), but it was still worth it. The captain was hilarious – we hadn’t laughed that much in a while! And the climb up those stairs afterward made it even more memorable.
Jolanta D — Google review
A little over 2 hours drive from Prague, but worth the journey! Breathtaking scenery around every bend. The main green trail is easy. The yellow trail is more intense terrain, but well marked. Impossible to get lost. I spent 5 hours here.
Lisa W — Google review
Incredible piece of nature. It is not my first time here but I always enjoy it. No toilets, but the walk is not that long. Outside places with souvenirs, food and drinks. Cash only for food, tickets are fine for debit card.
Jakub O — Google review
Absolutely amazing day trip, it's a bit tiring but overall I'd definitely recommend. Some of the views are stunning.
Bread — Google review
Great place for a hike. Really impressive rocks, nice viewpoints. Tickets are for scheduled hours, so plan your visit few hours before.
Vilmantas A — Google review
The Adršpach-Teplice Rocks are absolutely stunning! The natural rock formations and breathtaking scenery make it a must-visit destination. We opted for the green trail, a beautiful hike that took us around an hour and a half through the park. The walk was peaceful and offered amazing views at every turn. Just a heads up, you need to book your tickets in advance. We scheduled our visit for 5:00 PM, which turned out to be the perfect time—great weather and fewer crowds. Highly recommend!
Eran F — Google review
Beautiful place! Walk through the stairs and paths, well organized for tourists.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
the castle is wonderful! one of the most beautiful in the Czech Republic, it is definitely worth a detour to see it and the town is really pretty too. our experience was very positive. the staff is all extremely welcoming! when we arrived a very kind gardener gave us some advice and took a photo. at the ticket office the very kind boy suggested we wait for the next turn for the guide, because even though it was in Czech the guide spoke Italian, excellent advice! from a person who is very interested in doing his job well. while waiting for the tour we stopped at the bar where a young and very kind girl served us excellent products, and then the tour... wonderful! and the guide gave us a lot of information in Italian, special!!! thanks for everything
Laura G — Google review
Still enjoying the Winter hibernation, the chateau remembered from the kids card games did not let us reveal its interiors. The parks were closed as well, if it were not for the drone, one could have stood at the square wondering, what the hell... See you in summer!
Petr L — Google review
I really loved the park, it is really nice to visit at this time of the year! But anytime really. I did not visit the inside of the castle but I heard its worth visiting

Very nice castle and area around. Reserve some time to walk around in the forest etc. Nice place for Sunday walk with family.
Makowa_BEC — Google review
Great place to visit. Nice tour with a tour guide. Although a shame that foreign people (not Czech speaking) get only a shortened version of what is told by the tour guide. Would be nice if the whole story that is told by the tour guide would be translated on the paper that is handed out to foreign visitors.

Centrum Rekreacji i Sportu Kolorowa

Summer toboggan run
Sights & Landmarks
Centrum Rekreacji i Sportu Kolorowa in Karpacz is a year-round destination for active leisure seekers. Nestled in the heart of this picturesque mountain town, it offers two exceptional attractions that guarantee fun for all ages: the Alpine Coaster and the Summer Toboggan Run. The Alpine Coaster is an innovative toboggan track that allows rides regardless of the season.
A great place for fun and adventure for all ages, it delights. One more thing is that this ride is good for a couple like a girl (ap. 5feet) smaller than her partner, only 30zł-2 punkte is the advantage of buying a ticket together so, you can ride together. I was a bit scared and exited on my first ride but the second time it was really fun and yes their staff was also kind, respectful and helpful. I highly recommend this place for fun with your child or partner.
Rajshree G — Google review
Beyond the loops and drops, these views were absolutely breathtaking! ✨ 🛷 The toboggan is automatically dragged up the slope, but then you are in full control of speed sliding down the loops and enjoying the views. Children from 3yo to 8yo can ride only with an adult.
Victoria S — Google review
Wow place to go with kids, great fun for small and big, young and old. Reasonable prices, professional and friendly staff. Highly recommend
Slawomir A — Google review
very nice place very long road to go down. they have two lines so u don't have to wait too long for ride. 10 rides it's 120zloty
Pit S — Google review
It's really fun, definitely worth visiting. It is going up itself, you can't control, but later you control the brake. The only tips for adults, better trying to be at the openning or check so that parents with small kids are not right in front of you on the line,as they are driving slowly, and you don't have a chance to ride fast.
Lusine S — Google review
It’s fun, the ride lasts probably for 3-4 mins. Make sure to buy a ten pack of points to have extra fun
S B — Google review

Perfect for family retreats. The hotel Kocourkov features themed rooms which are a lot of fun for all ages. There is an attached patio and children can have fun in either outdoor or indoor playgrounds. Additionally there is a nature walk with fun elements in the forest. The restaurant Peklo (hell), is a themed restaurant featuring a show in the themed space bellow the restaurant. This is often connected to buffe styled dinner with plenty of choices. Great fun for all ages. Also this fall (2023) they will be opening a themed spa.
Jan ( — Google review
Outstanding combination of hotel, amusement park and restaurant. Kids were happy, especially with St. Nicholas', demons', and cherts' performance. Very authentic atmosphere and very good food for average price.
Maksym G — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience! Me and my British husband got picked on by the handsome devils, which made it all the more fun. Then again we have a good sense of humour. Everything is well thought out, the decor is amazing and the actors are just fantastic. The only slight let down is the service in the restaurant, the food was very good, again the decor fantastic but the service wasn’t in line with the prices. Overall I give 5 stars because it was a great day out and we will probably be back. Thank you.
Patricie B — Google review
This is a great show. A full tour not scary for kids more funny. I don't speak czech and everything is Czech but it's still good fun. Excellent building and features. Great actors. Fairly prices.
David B — Google review
There are two aspects to this place. First is the fun of having the demon actors making fun of the visitors by throwing insults left and right. If you like that type of humour, this is a good place for that, but it was not our type of fun. However, to each their own. We could look past it if not for the second part, which was was the obvious intent of the owner to engineer revenue from every visitor by forcing you into places where they can present their coffee and then ending the tour in the cafe where you are coaxed into buying a drink. And this is only one example of the approach shown through the whole experience. After the effort made by the tour guides/actors/demons it really cheapens the experience and makes the whole thing a disappointment. The place is full of interesting things and many opportunities for someone to spend money of their free will if presented in a non manipulative or non assuming way. It really is too bad. To top it off, the first person you come in contact with (the one running the reception/register) was arrogant and rude. Overall great idea with truly poor execution of a customer experience.
Brett J — Google review
This was a wonderful family experience. We really enjoyed the program with the devils and indulged in lovely Czech food and beer. This is a must see and experience place for anyone visiting the Czech Republic.
Thomas K — Google review
Amazing fun experience for young and adults. People (actors) that work there really show passion for their work which is well projected through their work. Place is simply wonderful and huge, they had put a lot of work to put it all together. I would recommend anyone to visit this place and experience a fun Interpretation of hell.
Elvis O — Google review
Really great place, well thought out and I would say could be super fun for kids. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. We ordered pork knee that was super tender and we barely ate 1/4 of what you can see on the photo. Great quality food for a very reasonable price!

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Sněžka is a popular hiking destination located on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic, boasting the title of being the highest peak in the Czech Republic. Hiking to the top from the Polish side is recommended with proper shoes due to steep slopes, although there are less tiring but longer trails available as well. It's advisable to bring your own food and water since there are no facilities at the mountain top.
Entered through the Czech side of the mountain using the lift. Weather conditions were exceptional, as shown in the pictures. It is definitely worth visiting for the views alone. Be warned, parking on the Czech side is a nightmare. You will have to park a few kilometers away and take the ski bus.
Konrad S — Google review
A must in terms of hike in the Czech Republic, very well signaled and prepared routes on both sides, recommend to do it in warmer season. I did it in winter and it was very tough compared to summer. The village (Pec pod Sněžkou) under the mountain it's the perfect place to stay for 1-2 nights, as the hiking routes basically starts from it
Mario S — Google review
The highest peak in Czech- Bohemia, Sněžka 1603m s/l where it borders Poland. Nice hike from the Polish side of the Silesian Hut ⛰️ 😉👍
Peter — Google review
We visited on a foggy day, the cablecar was even closed half way to the mountain top due to strong winds, so we hiked there. The path is not very long, some 6km in total. Expect lots of steep stairs and some hard ice, even in the Spring time. Even though, we couldn't see much, view wise, we still enjoyed the short adventure. Make sure to bring warm clothing... It felt like - 10 at the top due to the strong winds. The nearby parking is paid and around 1km away from the cable car station but there is a nice side trail following the water stream.
Marta S — Google review
It was fulfilling reaching the summit gives u spirit to conquer heights without fear
Adrian G — Google review
Beautiful views, quite hard climb but suitable for begginners, you can see everywhere around either polish and chech side. From Czech side you can take lift car from Pec pod sniezkou which takes you directly to the top. Small restaurant on the top which is usually crowded so better be prepare having own food and drinks.
Piotr G — Google review
This trip was unplanned, so the weather conditions were not in my favor, and it was difficult to enjoy the scenery. However, this trip was a great risky adventure that will remain in my memory for a long time. An incredible place for a winter vacation.
Iryna C — Google review
Hey everyone...Is the highest mountain of the Czech Republic (1603 meters 5260 feet) the ascent is possible from the Czech or Polish side....I crossed the Polish side...in the city of Karpaz at the municipal parking lot no. 7... .it's two and a half hours from the parking lot (or you can use the cable car that takes you under the hut and then it's only about an hour's journey) the level of difficulty is easy to medium... in winter, be careful at the top, it can be minus 20 and a strong wind that I experienced firsthand....

Dvůr Králové Zoo is a large open-air zoo dedicated to the conservation of African species, particularly rhinos, through a breeding program. It offers a unique safari experience that allows visitors to observe animals in their natural habitat. The zoo provides spacious accommodations for various animals and has attractions suitable for families, including feeding opportunities and safari rides. Visitors can choose to explore the zoo by car or use the provided safari vehicles.
Great safari experience, especially for families. The zoo is large and well-kept, and animals look healthy and well cared for. The safari ride is fun and gives you a chance to see giraffes, zebras, and other animals up close. Plenty of playgrounds and activities for kids, as well as places to eat and rest. You can easily spend the whole day here. Highly recommend visiting! Better reserve tickets in advance for safari ride. We arrived around 9, parking was available without problem, later it was packed.
Andrej — Google review
Nice safari to go with the family, your kids will love it. We went on 02.05.2025, it was the 2nd day they opened the safari tour, so we arrived before 9am in order to avoid crowds. You have to buy the tickets to enter the zoo, and then go to the side of the restaurant "Kibo" in order to buy the safari tickets. Watch out, because there were 2 queues, one for the tickets and another for the ride, there weren't any signs so people were confused. Safari tickets can't be bought online. The ride lasts about 1 hour and it's a calmed ride. It wasn't possible to go in your own car due to some health restrictions. Be aware that on holidays or bank holidays the place gets crowded around 10am.
Omar T — Google review
Wonderful zoo with some animals that are very hard to find outside africa. We got lucky and were in time to see the aardwolf cubs that were born outside africa for the first time. Visited for 2 days in a row and didn't even go through the whole park. Will definitely come back again.

It's a very nice place for family with kids. We enjoyed complete day watching animals. Luckily it was not crowded at all and we could relaxed undisturbed by any other visitors.

Great safari experience. I recommend to visit by your car when it is not very hot. Zoo is also nice big territory and nice options of food and drinks
Mykyta G — Google review
Great place to spend a day with your family. They have lots of Animals and the safari was really interesting. I haven't seen such safari anywhere in Europe. A part of me was sad watching all animals in cage. Either it was because of the temperature or because of the cage the animals were very sad. Tickets: Buy it online, it is cheaper. 280 kr for each adults. U can go inside safari with your car. If u want u can use their safari cars to ride. Which we did and it was great. 50 mins ride. Not bad. Next time will try with own car to see the difference. Overall good experience.
Hameem R — Google review
What an amazing zoo! I’m from the UK and they could learn something from this zoo, it was big and open with lots of animals, not just a couple of giraffes there were loads of them! They also had several prides of lions, elephants, hippos and lots of savannah animals. There were constant areas for refreshments and most of the walk ways were shaded, which was helpful as it was 37° out! They also had sprayers everywhere spraying cold water to cool people down. The prices were excellent, it cost us the equivalent of about £70 to get in for a family of 4, it would cost that for one person in the UK. We spent the whole day exploring the zoo and didn’t pay for the safari, we would definitely do so if we went again. I’d also like to add how my wife lost her phone, we traced back right to the start and it had been handed in at the first restaurant. It would have been long gone in the UK!! The staff were all very friendly and helpful like when we lost our phone. We have friends in Czech so if we come back we will definitely come back

2,200m-long chair lift, open in winter & summer, bringing riders to the top of Śnieżka mountain.
Only Liczykrupa open at the moment , good snow little icy at the bottom, no queues not many ppl today and it was Friday . Equipment rental limited .
D B — Google review
We were not quite sure if it would be opened the day we wanted to use it. But it was a great experience. Not as expensive as some lifts in Austria or Switzerland and you can skip most of the way to the top of the Sniezka.

Super crowded during summer holiday. Sugest to Come till 10:30. One of the Must to do.
Jiří B — Google review
Very positive experience. The staff were super helpful and friendly and made sure we have enough time to get on/off the chairlift with our 3yo child. The chairlift went very smoothly without any dragging or swiveling. It's wheelchair accessible. You can also bring a stroller up to Kopa.
Victoria S — Google review
great place to go skiing and rent them. there is a slope for beginners to ski. for snowboarding, there is a separate slope elsewhere. on weekends there are a lot of activities, games and tents with different food. there are instructors who help and 3 different slopes. Nearby there is a waterfall very beautiful.

270pln for 3 hikers to go up on chair lift ONCE 🤯 Worse price than cable car in Zakopane. Last lift down at 5:30pm, we missed it, had NO IDEA how to return. When buying 2-way tickets at 4:00pm, agent DIDN'T BOTHER to mention that the last lift down is at 5:30pm; they have same open hours as a library. To compare, Zakopane cable car runs until 9pm! After we were stuck, no instructions on how to get down safely around the lift. Absolute waste of money. Plan to do the hike, arrive early, and don't waste money on this lift.

Great place to hike. Amazing views around you. Also added photos of Sniežka (1603m). Could be a bit difficult for beginner but achievable, it depends on the path you choose.

It’s worth considering if you plan travel on Sniezka mountain. The cost around 65/55zl depending on the season. In the season you may stay in a long queue but it’s moving quickly.

Wang Church is a 12th-century wooden church that was originally located in Norway and later transported to Karpacz, Poland in the 19th century. The church's architecture resembles Viking longships, adding to its historical and cultural significance. Visitors can also explore the picturesque Karkonosze National Park nearby, known for its rare plant and animal species as well as breathtaking landscapes.
this beautiful charming wooden church offers a glimpse into the past with its unique design and craftsmanship. Tour is available with a small fee. Don’t miss the stunning views of the valley from the small cemetery. Parking fee: 5€ per hour.

It's a very historically important church. It's a wooden church with beautiful exterior architecture. There's a small cemetery surrounding the church. While many churches in Poland are free to enter, this one costs 14 zł, with an additional 5 zł if you have a camera. I didn't go in because there were large groups of people inside.

Worth to see, very nice little wooden church with beautiful well maintained grounds. Ticket is cheap and you can spend there as much time as you want. To there there you can leave your car on paid parking and take a walk. Some little shops and coffee places around. View is spectacular

A small wooden Viking-style church surrounded by a small old cemetery. The steep trip up will reward you with breathtaking views. What I don’t accept personally is paying an entrance fee to a church!

If you want to see an original Norwegian Stave Church without travelling North, that is the solution. The history behind is even more interesting. Definitely worth visiting.

Such a beautiful building in beautiful surroundings. Well worth the trip. A printed sheet of the narrative is available in different languages. Very popular attraction

A unique 12th-century wooden church originally built in Norway and relocated to Karpacz in the 19th century. Surrounded by the stunning Karkonosze mountains, Wang Church blends Viking architecture with Christian symbolism. A peaceful place for reflection, history, and beautiful views — a must-see when visiting Karpacz.

Bílá věž

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The tallest landmark in the city, this 1574 clock tower offers scenic views of distant mountains.
Great exposition with atmospheric lights, interactive panels and a nicely reconstructed architecture!
Yana K — Google review
Well designed tower, giving great views of the beautiful city. I never felt like i walked to the 10th floor because there is so much to capture your heart in every floor. Staff spoke english and were very friendly yoo😊
Starh L — Google review
Nicely renovated tower. The 360° view of the city is fantastic. Special feature is glass replica of the tower.
Metka K — Google review
Very nice tower, the inside is brand new after reconstruction. It is also OK to visit during heat waves - we went there with 36°C outside temperature and it was nicely cool inside. Nice view included, of course. There is no tour, you can climb at your preferred speed.
Šimon B — Google review
I have been coming to Hradec Kralove for years for business and never had a chance to visit this tower partly because it was under renovation for quite some time. The tower is in the middle of the 11th century town square. It was lovingly and expertly restored into a worthy attraction. The view at the top is breathtaking, you can see the town of Hradec Kralove and surrounding areas laid out beautifully in a 360-degree panorama. On the way up the tower you will see th the bell and the cleverly restored platforms, a lot of thoughts went into the design of this place. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
Allan W — Google review
Beautiful tower after great reconstruction, beautiful view - and you can even book sunrise and night tours. There are interactive boards inside the tower with information about the culture in the city and its history, tasks and puzzles, and also a beautiful glass model of the tower. Lots of stairs there, including newly built "flying" construction (so if you hate to see under your feet, keep this in mind), pretty steep but safe.
Janina . — Google review
Bílá věž was recently restored and is worth visiting not just for the views of the city from the conservation deck, but as a demonstration of beautiful contemporary "small architecture" - the staircase and the railings are very chic. The dramatic lighting and moody music may be a little campy, but why not. There is also a light installation of the model of the tower and multimedia panels with historical information.
Aleš R — Google review
Not expensive at all to go up in the tower, and very much worth the view! It's just beautiful at the top. There are many stairs to the top and no lift to assist you, but it's a good climb if you are able! There are things to read and see on the way up and down as well. So you learn a little history while you're there. Comming down was a bit challenging for my fear of heights, since you can see through parts of the stairs and see a long way down haha. Enjoy!

Green Gate is a 15th-century massive tower that serves as an entrance to a square filled with outdoor restaurants and cafes in Pardubice. It's a must-see attraction offering great views of the city when the weather is good. Visitors can enjoy two exhibitions on Pardubice legends and access audio guides in Czech, English, and German for a low price. Additionally, there's a delightful chocolate cafe nearby at the base of the tower.
Pretty nice sight. I enjoyed the displays on the way to top of the tower. The lady at the cash was kind. Looking forward to visit the tower again and visit the gallery part. Entry fee is very low, just would appreciate possibility to pay by card. Maybe next time.

Prachov Cliffs

Nature preserve
Sights & Landmarks
Nature area famous for its sandstone spires, with wooded hiking paths passing between the rocks.
Absolutely gorgeous place, if you ever saw those Instagram videos of those insane views, this is the place. There are 4 different routes, but I can't recommend just one, I would suggest going all of them, as each one has something different packed in it. Just a heads up for claustrophobic people the green route has some pretty harsh passthroughs. But overall a must visit.
Adam M — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. Breathtaking views, especially after you climb to the top. There are several trails there. We chose the green trail, which is considered the most beautiful. Highly recommended. I recommend arriving early, especially in season, to ensure there is a parking space. After that, the parking shortage begins.

Beautiful place! Some amazing walking/hiking routes! You could spend all day there. Place git busy after 10AM and started to get rediculously busy around 12. My only complaint is the price of the parking!! 500czk (20€)?? We arrived in a van.. Ended up parking 2km away. We saved 10€ per kilometer!

The well-maintained nature park offers some lovely woodland walks, tranquility, and is easily accessible. The highlight is the Cretaceous sandstone formations, covering approximately one square kilometer. It might feel like you're in the States straight out of a Western, but it's actually Bohemian Paradise in the Czech Republic.

EA Chateau Hotel Rough Rock

Hotel
Nature & Parks
Relaxed accommodations in a restored hotel with a low-key restaurant, a spa & a rustic tavern.
Excellent experience at this beautiful, well-located hotel. Booked an economy room and received an upgraded room with a complementary bottle of wine. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Lunch and dinner were very good and the breakfast buffet was exceptional -- the best we saw after a couple weeks of travel through the Czech Republic.
Stephanie M — Google review
Only 1 very very desapointing thing! Let's be clear: this luxury hotel and its location, on the top of the hill, as a starting point for walks and hikes in the forest and rocks, are just ideal: wonderful view, nice restaurant, castle-chambers, etc. Unfortunately, one thing really spoiled our stay: breakfast! The breakfast is unworthy of a 4* hotel and is more like that of a bad 2*. Almost all the products are industrial or chemical and of such low-cost quality that you can feel it immediately when you start eating them. The chemical fruit juices (if available, as 2 of 4 were empty during our stay) come from a vending machine and are made from the worst quality water+concentrate: they are disgusting. Both sweet (cakes, etc.) and savoury (ham, cheese, sausage, etc.) products seem to have come out of their packaged plastic bags (not all of them), and the bread doesn't seem to be freshly cooked. The hot drinks (coffee, chocolate, etc.) are dispensed by a simple, low-quality vending machine, just like in any office, and are just bad. And as I wanted to fall back on scrambled eggs, the container was empty and I had to report this and wait 10 minutes (along with all the other customers) for the dish to be refilled. The staff (probably not enough of them in this place) are absent for the customers, as they are too busy running between the kitchen and the breakfast room... Really undignified and quite awful.
Bilbo P — Google review
Unbeatable view. While the room is a bit dated, it fits the charm of an old castle. However, during our 4-day stay, the room was never cleaned. Unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. We also asked the front desk for hiking recommendations, but no guidance or maps were given, which is disappointing given that most guests come for the hiking.
Onn H — Google review
We booked 3 nights in the 4 star hotel part, bathroom was old and only had a bath no shower, no shower curtain and no place to hang the shower head. The entire bathroom would get wet. The bed did not feel flat which hurt my back after the first night (I’m 34 yo). Location for hiking is great!
Linda S — Google review
Worst hotel I've ever been. The castle has a great facade, but as soon as you enter the building, everything is worn down, moldy bathroom which you cannot lock. When you lie on the bed you can count the springs poking in your back. We are hiking, arrived at 6 o'clock in the evening, leaving tomorrow at 8 in the morning. That gives 14 hours that I'll never get back in my life. The room is ugly as hell, no cozy lighting in the room, moldy carpet. Shared bathroom, which you cannot lock, as I said before, I just can't get over it. It is not the only thing that does not lock: the window in the room. It also stinks here. At least the hallway is freshly painted so it smells of paint, instead of the nasty old moldy turd-smell in the room. For some reason, the doorknob at the inside of our room does not work, so we can only open it with our key from the inside. It does work from the outside. The food in the restaurant was ok-ish. But the service was not. They gave us our food but we had no cutlery, we had to wait 5 minutes watching our food get colder whilst trying to get some cutlery. I went to the bar to ask for some and he just said to wait until they would bring it. When we left I saw that the cutlery was lying next to the bar. Why not just give it to me when I came asking for it??? We asked for dessert and they said 'ok' and went running off, no time to also order a coffee and tea. 5 minutes later we got some random dessert of a menu we didn't order. By then we thought to not waste more time on trying to get what we really wanted, ate the dessert as fast as we could and just go. When we went outside I felt really unhappy with where I was, the service and the disappointment of being in a place that only wants you to hate it. I beg you to not come here! 👎

Updated review: Another wonderful magical stay! Coming back 5 years after we had our wedding here and with our son, I was worried it would not live up to my memories, but it exceeded them! The whole surrounding area is seriously enchanting with extraordinary nature walks, easy and unbelievably beautiful. The views cannot be matched, and the spa balcony is unreal! The staff of the hotel went above and beyond even with our more unusual requests. They upgraded us to the wedding suite which made our entire stay and allowed us to relive our best memories. The food is super tasty, the rooms and hotel are a little outdated, but have such magical character that it can totally be overlooked (especially for such a decent price). Still a hidden gem with mostly Czech tourists so feels super authentic As a modern princess with a romantic adventurous character, but without a princess's budget, I will say this is the ideal place and we will definitely be coming back as soon as possible. Wonderful castle in gorgeous surroundings. Our wedding there was perfect! For the ceremony, meals, party and as a hotel. All our guests loved it and the staff went out of their way for us... Despite the rain and some logistical difficulties it was absolutely magical!

Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the 'Bone Church,' is a small Gothic chapel located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. It is adorned with garlands of human skulls, a bone chandelier, and chalices made from the bones of over 40,000 individuals. This macabre yet captivating site attracts visitors worldwide who are eager to witness its unique artistry and contemplate mortality.
Interesting and unsettling historic site. The information and videos about the restoration work makes you appreciate the dedication and craftsmanship of the people involved in creating the Ossuary and now ensuring the site is kept safe is really impressive.

Very interesting church. It is one of a kind. It was much smaller than I expected. Definitely worth the visit. My only disappointment is that it’s so unique but you can’t take a picture of yourself inside. Granted there are few people who do not show respect when taking a pic, the remainder of the folks have to suffer for other’s bad decisions. this place is good for a quick stop.
Anand — Google review
An absolutely fascinating and hauntingly beautiful place to visit. The Sedlec Ossuary is unlike anything else — both eerie and awe-inspiring at the same time. The artistry and respect shown in how the bones are arranged is incredible; it really makes you reflect on history, mortality, and craftsmanship all at once. I visited on a weekday and had almost no wait to get in, which made the experience even better. The site is well-preserved, informative, and surprisingly peaceful. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re anywhere near Kutná Hora — it’s a quick trip from Prague and completely worth it. Buying tickets in advance isn’t necessary if you go early in the day, but it can’t hurt during busy seasons.

Came to Kutna Hora being a fan of KCD 2, and had to stop by this famous spot. I think my girlfriend thought I was a bit off for wanting to go to a church, but she ended up loving it just as much as me! Also don't be a doofus, pay attention and NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEOS!! There's a visitor's center just a short walk down the street where you buy tickets, or you can do so online ahead of time. Gift shop was cool, had some KCD related items as well
Richard B — Google review
Amazing experience really, it’s currently under renovations but you can go inside and see everything no problem, I actually liked I got to see the experts working on the renovations also. You can’t take photograph’s but I promise it’s so worth it. This are some fotos of the outside. O recommend buying tickets before hand.

Gorgeous but small ossuary. I'd give it five stars if it was allowed to tak pictures. I'd just like to have memory of my visit, respectfully.
Daphne — Google review
Unfriendly staff. There is no ticket office at the location. There is no explanation of the history of the place. High price. Half of the place is well kept, the other half is ”ongoing”. Place serves it purpose: you get the immediate vibes of looking at real bones of thousands of people. You have to be into it to enjoy the experience. I didn’t. Would not recommend.

St. Barbara's Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. The cathedral, with its sharp spines and flying buttresses, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most well-preserved churches in Central Europe. It was built between 1257 and 1281 and boasts five naves. The construction began in 1388 but wasn't completed until the early twentieth century. St.
Stepped into St Barbara’s on a bright morning and was immediately floored by that soaring Gothic nave—ribbed vaults twisting overhead like frozen webs. Sunlight streamed through vibrant stained glass, casting kaleidoscopic patterns onto centuries-old stone. Knowing it took over 500 years to complete—and that it was built by miners to rival Prague—makes every gargoyle, flying buttress, and delicate fresco feel like a statement of pride. Climbing up to peek at the exterior ribs and slender buttresses from inside was an unexpected highlight—architecture turned up close

A beautiful church that rivals St Vitus Cathedral in Prague. We spent an hour+ here doing the audio guide on our phones. The audio guide was very informative and easy to use. The exterior of the church is gorgeous, it's hard to choose between St Barbara's or St Vitus in Prague Castle. The interior of the church is also very interesting and beautiful. It was lovely to see so many regences to the town's mining history.
Rebecca O — Google review
The entire complex of which the cathedral is a part is immense, extraordinarily beautiful, and the cathedral itself is huge, a construction that is no longer made nowadays. When you go up to the cathedral, you are enveloped by a feeling of well-being and happiness. You can buy a ticket just for the cathedral or another one that includes the ossuary from Sedlec , but the ossuary is just for advertising, it's not worth visiting, it's in another town, not far away.

Unbelievable! 10/10 must see! I've sen many pictures of this amazing Gothic church before coming here, but this is one of those places you simply have to experience. It doesn't even seem real. The detail of the masonry on both the exterior and interior are nothing short of stunnung. Stepping inside, was the most ornate and beautifully decorated church I've ever seen. From the masonry, to the carved statues painted and guilded in gold, simply stunning. And to think that construction started over 600 years ago is mind bending! Kuta Hora started as a simple monestary, until one of the monks found silver, and it quickly became one of the largest and wealthiest mines in Europe. At one point in time it was estimated that 30% of the silver that existed in Europe came from Kutna Hora, making it one of the wealthiest cities in all of Europe. With all that wealth came the funding to construct the fantastical. The Works started in 1388 and continued until 1588. Sadly, during the 200 years of construction, the mines began to run out of silver, and with it, the funds to continue construction. You will notice a seemingly plain and flat elevation on the north wall, a departure from the wildly complicated structure, leaving you impressed, but longing for the full vision to have been seen through. Tickets to enter are cheap, and beyond worth it.

Very beautiful church on amazing grounds. It compares to St-Vitus church in Prague. All the sculptures presented in the alley getting to the church reminded me of Charles Bridge. Beautiful. The church itself is very well preserved, though it was weirdly "missing" some stained glass windows at some places (I doubt that it was initially built with crystal clear windows, but I might be wrong). Informative display collection and presentation of historical facts upstairs, near the organ. The views of Kutna Hora from the church's site are splendid.

Informative display collection and presentation of historical facts upstairs, near the organ. The views of Kutna Hora from the church's site are splendid.

The ŠKODA Muzeum is a museum located in a renovated production plant that showcases the history of the famous Czech auto brand through classic cars. It is an ideal destination for anyone interested in learning about Czech auto history as it offers an informative tour with knowledgeable guides. The admission rates are reasonable and there is a gift area for auto enthusiasts. In addition to the main museum, visitors can also request to see the depositary where raw gems are kept in a separate building.
Incredible experience. My partner arranged me an English speaking guided tour, and the tour guide was fantastic. Really informative and interesting. Explained the history to me which was fascinating. My highlight was the race car section upstairs. Coffee shop was great too. A must visit if you’re near Prague

Nice place with AC but really small exposition. You will need 15 min to see all. Poor access to cars that located above the floor. Poor gift shop.

Nice museum showing good insight into Skoda as one of the most innovative companies of the CEE region! All exhibits are described in Czech, German and English. There is also a artistic display of key moments and personalities i Czech history upstairs. Definitely ask about sports and prototypes exhibiton. Plus a good Restaurant / Cafe Vaclav on the spot.

Great museum with meticulously restored cars dating back to the beginning of 20th century. I was surprised by the variety of models Skoda produced over its history. Sport and prototypes depository is a must visit (included in museum entry ticket).
Vitaly I — Google review
It's cool to see the company history and all the different cars/bikes but it is a very limited museum. There is another guided tour you can book in advance which might be more engaging
Jonny H — Google review
As a Skoda fan I really enjoyed the museum. Due to a ticket problem, I was hugely disappointed to not be able to tour the factory. I have six Skoda's and about to buy a seventh, but nothing helped with my appeal for entry.
Ray K — Google review
Absolutely brilliant if you're into cars and Czech history - this place delivers on both fronts. The collection traces Skoda's journey from the early days to modern engineering, and it's genuinely fascinating how much innovation came out of this company. You get a real sense of Czech industrial pride and resilience through the decades. IMPORTANT: Book the factory tour at least 3 weeks in advance - it's worth it. You'll see current production, learn about future models, and get the full story from past to present. The museum alone is great, but the factory tour takes it to another level. Even if you're not a car person, the historical context and Czech culture woven throughout makes it compelling. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Mirakulum completely blew me away. Truly a fantastic experience for all ages. Everything inside is included in the entry fee and no extra charges, which is rare these days. Every detail is thoughtfully designed, and to my surprise, I had just as much fun as the kids. I’ve been to many similar places, but this one has a special kind of magic and calmness.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Nestled on a prominent rock overlooking the Sazava River, Český Šternberk Castle is a Gothic and Baroque marvel dating back to the 13th century. It is still owned by the original family who built it nearly 800 years ago. The castle boasts well-preserved Gothic architecture with some later Baroque additions.
Beautiful and impressive place. The interiors very interesting and in a good shape. Visiting the castle is only possible with the guide who talks in Czech, but we got our leaflets with all info in Polish. The tour takes approx. 1 hour. On Sunday the tours were quite often so we didn't have to wait long for the next one. You have to pay extra for the possibility to take pictures inside.

Český Šternberk Castle is a stunning medieval fortress perched above the Sázava River. Beautifully preserved, with rich interiors and a unique family history that goes back to the 13th century. One of the must-visit castles in the Czech Republic.
Jura B — Google review
Extremely interesting location! Half an hour to drive from Prague. Good parking, 50 CZK (2 euro) (it is necessary to pay in the Castle when buying entrance tickets - 250 CZK - 10 euro). The castle belongs to one of the descendants of the Sternberg family. Inside you will see a lot of interesting things, rooms, furnitures - knight's hall, salon, chapel, ladies' salon, library (3500 copies of old books), dining room, office, hall, smoking room, bedroom, hunting salon. The tour takes about an hour in Czech. But there is a printed description in other languages, the description should be taken free of charge when buying tickets. In the courtyard of the castle is a nice restaurant with normal prices. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in medieval castles

Wasn’t able to catch a tour as we went in the evening in November and they closed at 2pm. However, this was a blessing, as we captured such an amazing sunset, and the gorgeous autumn colors of the forests around the castle were spectacular! There are walking trails all around, amazing views from the town below, and very few people around.
Quinton W — Google review
It may not be the most famous castle, but it is a genuine example of a working castle that is lived in by the same family that built the original part of the castle in 1241. The history in between was somewhat turbulent for the family, which makes for a fascinating story, and the visit was all the more memorable for that. I am glad I took the tour. Thanks to my tour guide, Maria.

A well maintained castle in a beautiful area. Very happy they offer English tours. Our guide was knowledgeable, shared a lot of information and was able to answer all our questions. She was very patient with us and had a warm personality. You can get a few refreshing drinks and snacks to enjoy in the court. Very good homemade lemonades. The prices are mostly fair, though they ask for a €2 camera license if you want to take pictures, which is absolutely silly.

The Konopiste Castle

Sights & Landmarks
The Konopiste Castle is a Baroque palace that was built over a medieval and Renaissance castle. It was once the home of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, an enigmatic figure who used it as his ideal country retreat. The castle is located amid extensive grounds 2km west of the town of Benesov and showcases the archduke's twin obsessions: hunting and St George.
Fantastic historic castle to visit about 45 minutes by train outside Prague and only €12 return. Still furnished and filled with military & hunting memorabilia as Archduke Franz Ferdinand had it just over 100 years ago. The coffee shop inside has some divine pastries as well.
Gary M — Google review
Visiting Konopiště Castle was absolutely wonderful. The interior tour was fascinating, with room after room full of history and interesting trinkets. There’s so much to see. I was especially surprised to see an elevator inside such an old castle. Just be aware: the tours are only available in Czech, however there's audio guides available in English, German, and some other languages. The on-site chocolate shop was a sweet surprise. The variety of chocolates was impressive, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I only wish I could have sampled them all! Sadly the rose garden was not yet in bloom during our visit, but I'm very sure it is a sight to be seen. The presence of so many peacocks wandering the grounds added a magical touch. A peaceful walk around the nearby lake was the perfect way to end the visit—calm, scenic, and incredibly relaxing. All in all, Konopiště Castle is a must see. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It blends rich history, natural beauty, and charming surprises.
V O — Google review
Fairy-tale like castle and adjacent grounds with 3 excellent tours; note that each is charged separately and there is an option to get an audio guide in English. During the Franz/Sophie private apartment tour you'll be able to see a set of truly touching drawings made by their daughter showing the alegory of the assassination - taking photos is forbidden and unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet. There is also a temporary exibition of historical clothing of the nobility with an incredible guide.
Predrag M — Google review
A visit to Konopiště castle will bring you back in time to the beginning of the 20th century when it belonged to the heir to the Habsburg throne. He and his family lived in splendid seclusion oblivious to what the future holds for them. You have a choice from several tours out of which the one through the private chambers of the family is as close as you can get to the royals of that time.
Miroslav K — Google review
There are 4 tours at different hours. You need more time to see at least 2 of them. The castle is well maintained. have beautiful views. Also there are deers, peacocks and bear (that was somewhere inside). No photos allowed inside of this castle!

Visited the castle grounds on a weekend. Beautiful trails and amazing views. The grounds are free entry. Parking is 100 crowns whole day and very big!
Paula R — Google review
Wow! Just WOW! It's simply impossible to see everything in one tour. That's why there are 4 different routes for sightseeing tours. Unfortunately, we were only able to visit tour 2. But I haven't seen so many medieval weapons and everything else in a long time. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures inside. Come and see! You definitely won't regret it! Parking for a day costs 100 CZK, which is 4 euros. There are also many interesting things around the castle, such as a park, a rose garden, a mini zoo
Oleksandr P — Google review
Interesting castle in a beautiful location. You can see why Franz Ferdinand loved being there...shame he took so much of the local wildlife out! Seeing where Kaiser Wilheim & von Tirpitz stayed overnight was fascinating...same furniture, same wallpaper. I would recommend seeing this is the Spring or Summer...the rose gardens are meant to be beautiful & the Kaiser loved them. Going mid October meant the gardens weren't in bloom and you could tell is was closing for the season. I finished a tour at 3pm and the restaurant and cafe were already closed so I couldn't get a drink. The guides were so knowledgeable & friendly but the commentary on the audio guides should be more detailed. The Czech version was much longer for almost every room!! If you take the trsin from Prague & walk there, you get off at Benesov & wonder where is the castle?? The area is quite industrial. But go over the bridge, turn left, then right fork & it's a really beautiful walk right up to the back of the castle, through the forest. I intend to go again but in Summer & I will take drinks this time!!

Chateau Melnik

Sights & Landmarks
Hilltop castle with grand rooms, a collection of 17th-century maps, a winery & scenic restaurant.
The place has an unmistakable spirit. Drahomira's (mother of St.Wenceslaus) supposed place of origin offers spectacular views towards Prague, hill of Rip and obviously the nearby spot where rivers of Moldau an Elbe blend. Enjoy the castle and the spectacular diagonal lane to the river. 9
Petr L — Google review
The lady who manages the castle visits called us from outside and asked us if we wanted to visit the castle (she only knew two words of English, so communicating was difficult), after paying for the tickets (she only accepts cash) she shows us the stairs and gives us a flyer with some information on the (few) rooms of the castle. In one of the first rooms we meet a group of visitors with a guide who spoke Czech, the room was very small so we tried to reach the next one but got yelled at by the lady, she does not speak English and continues to speak in her language towards us, we try to explain to her that we don't understand a single thing she is saying but she continues to shake her head, in the end one of the visitors knew some English and told us that we couldn’t visit the castle without a guide to supervise us, so we were forced to stay in these small rooms with a group of twenty people listening to a guide who didn't speak our language, there is nothing more stupid... it was not possible to take photos and there are only seven rooms (and they don't even look like royal rooms, you can see that the rooms have been renovated several times in recent years), the city is nice for a walk but being not very touristy, even the locals are not predisposed to foreigners.

The Czech Republic 🇨🇿 has not only a reputation as a beer 🍺 country. The Elbe Lowland is one of the most northern wine 🍇 regions in Europe. The traditional stone terraces on the southwestern bank of the river Elbe create the perfect micro climate for winegrowing.🏞 The grapes are processed in a way to become lively, reductive, light wines with a typical bloomy and fruity varietal aroma. 💐 Take a tour to Melnik, a city situated about half hour drive north of Prague. Your celler master takes you through 14th century wine cellar and offers you local wines to taste🍷🥂, accompanied by freshly baked local bread as well as cheese and other snacks.🥖🧀👍

The Museum of Communism, situated in Prague's New Town, offers a comprehensive insight into the Czech Republic's communist era from 1948 to 1989. The museum features original artifacts, multimedia displays, propaganda posters, and historical documents that vividly depict life under the Communist regime. Visitors can explore reconstructed rooms like a school classroom and shop while learning about both the positive and negative aspects of the system.
A powerful and eye-opening experience. The Museum of Communism offers a detailed and honest look into life under the regime, with real stories, artifacts, and visuals that bring history to life. It’s well-organized, informative, and thought-provoking — I left with a much deeper understanding of what people lived through during that era. There was no wait to enter, and I don’t think tickets need to be booked in advance. Make sure to stop by the gift shop — it’s definitely worth a visit, with unique items and well-curated books that complement the experience perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Prague and interested in history or politics.
Abdulaziz A — Google review
Going to this museum was the best decision I made in my trip to Prague. If you are into history of countries you have to go there! I spent almost 4 hours here reading every detail. It’s perfect that they are showing the history of communism from the very beginning in Czechoslovakia and continue it as an engaging timeline. The tickets are super cheap comparing to insane tickets across Europe to get inside a church for 30-40€. As a student I only paid 290 CZK. I also liked the design of the museum from the darkness of communism to the bright side of Prague spring and the velvet revolution. Highly recommended🤞🏻💯
Behnam — Google review
This is a really well done and informative history of eastern European communism, especially where it relates to the former Czechoslovakia. Very sobering and pretty heart-rending at times but balanced out by the tongue-in-cheek tone of the gift shop! You could fly round it in maybe 45 mins just focusing on the excellent exhibits e.g. example classrooms, apartments, offices, even motorbikes or you could take your time reading it all and it could easily take a couple of hours. All in all , would definitely recommend it if you're interested in the era.
Graham A — Google review
I'm personally very interested in this time frame and despotic regimes so this museum was fascinating. Yes, this museum is criticizing the communist regime and is not impartial. However, it is presenting all the aspects of the Czechoslovakian society before, during and after the communist regime with a lot of details so your analyze and personal feelings will make the right opinion:) Last but not least: I really enjoy humour based on politics, so the goodies were enjoyable

Wonderful experience and my favourite tourist spot on Prague. Takes you from end of WW1 to fall of Communist government. Lots to read and see. Some of the sections highlighted how people used humour to get through it like the statue of Stalin being known as the que for the meat 😂

Spent about 3 hours here our first day in Prague. We could have spent a lot more time here, but with only 3 days for the entire city, time is limited. Concerts & Shows
Obecní Dům, also known as Municipal House, is a stunning art nouveau venue in the heart of Prague. This architectural gem took seven years to build and now stands as one of the most beautiful buildings in the Czech Republic. It boasts a 2,000-seat concert hall, salons, offices, and restaurants adorned with lavish decorative work. The venue hosts classical concerts, opera, ballet performances, and various events like fashion shows.
Art nouveau & Empire blend interior design beautifully executed. The guide did a great job of taking us through the details (and keeping the large group together). If your interest has been piqued by any of the pictures, I would highly recommend you attend. Most of the ground floor is occupied by concessions, so you can take a look there too if you're discrete (or need of a lot of refreshment).

This is a "must-do". My husband and I just loved it. I think it is one of the most beautiful interiors in all of the Czech Republic. Our tour guide was excellent. Her love for her country and being proud of her Czech culture enhanced the tour. The English tours especially book up quickly so make this an early stop so you can see what days and times are available. The times vary depending on the day of the week.

We have seen the building before but joined the tour for the first time this time. It was really worth it. All the rooms have amazing decorations and I especially liked the concert hall and mayor’s hall with Mucha’s paintings. The tour was also very helpful to learn about the history of the building.

I had the pleasure of attending a Prague Music Orchestra concert here, and it was a beautiful experience from start to finish. The architecture of the hall itself is stunning — elegant, historic, and designed in a way that makes the music feel alive. The details in the interior reflect the city’s artistic heritage, and the acoustics allow every note to resonate clearly. It’s one of those places where the space becomes part of the performance. The music program was thoughtfully curated, moving from Mozart’s joyful Eine kleine Nachtmusik to the lyrical Largo of Dvořák’s New World Symphony. Each piece felt perfectly suited to the venue. The orchestra performed with passion and precision, and their interpretation captured both the grandeur of the classics and the intimacy of chamber music. A must-visit for anyone who loves music and architecture. The combination of setting and sound makes this concert hall an unforgettable cultural experience in Prague.

The municipal house is from from the first years of the 20th century. Beautiful building built in Art Nouveau style. The building has a rich history: the palace of the Bohemian kings used to be here, but it was abandonded centuries ago and demolisehd to make way for the municipal house. The czhechoslovakian independence declaration was made here after WWI. Inside is a famous concert hall

A beautiful art deco building, with lovely restaurants and bars. We went downstairs to Tretters American cocktail bar, and what a fantastic place! Watching the 2 bar tenders making all the drinks was great. Amazing staff, amazing drinks. And actually not expensive. Highly recommend going here for a cocktail or 4!

The building and the atmosphere was great. The musicians and the opera singers were amazing. But the ballet dancers it says that the soloists will be from the National Opera but they were very very bad. They are probably a good distraction and good for advertising the concert to say that there are also ballet dancers included but honestly the musicians and the opera singers were more than enough. Despite the dancers everything was great. Tip: even if they offer you place to the side it is never a good idea. Choose middle seats (even if they are further away from the stage, they always are the better option)

Prašná brána, also known as the Powder Tower, is a historic city gate in Prague that dates back to the 15th century. Originally built in the 11th century and later reconstructed, it served as one of the original entrances to Old Town Prague. During the 17th century, it was repurposed for storing gunpowder, hence its name.
Wonderful structure away from the busy area of Prague. The structure is grand and captivating. The view from the top is amazing. You get a whole different view when compared to the ones from the old town area. You also get to see some modern parts of Prague. You can buy the tickets ahead of time but it’s not necessary. Definitely should visit. Just get a little disappointing to see people carving their initials on a historical structure on top of the tower. The local government should really do something about that.

Stunning old tower, gateway to Old Town of Prague. A must see when in Prague. I recently visited Prague for a short visit in Sept 2025 and when I arrived in the evening and we drove past on the shuttle bus and I caught a glimpse of it, I was in awe. It's visually impressive, not only the size but the architecture of it. It's solid, full of detail, the top is accompanied by several spires which adds dramatic detail to the gothic style decor. I didn't go up due to time constraints but from what I saw where the entrance is, the steps to go up to the tower are like those inside a castle, narrow and steep so make sure you have good walking shoes/trainers on. Even if you don't go up for the panoramic views, to see it up close is impressive. From the Powder Tower, you are a few mins walk to the Old Town - 10-15 mins depending on how fast you walk/if you stop to look at shops etc.
Joanna F — Google review
The Powder Tower is a famous building in Prague you can visit anytime. I went on the second day of a three-day trip, and I opted not to climb the tower. I really feel like I'll be back to Prague again, so I plan on climbing it next time. It was still really nice to visit when the sun was getting lower. I'm sure you'll enjoy The Powder Tower whether you climb it or not.

Incredible piece of history! We didn’t go into the tower but it’s pretty cool to see from outside. There is a little cafe inside with amazing Art nouveau architecture worth seeing just inside the lobby!

Built in 1475, the Powder Tower represents the historic connection between the Old and New Towns. Its Gothic architecture and details are truly impressive.
Ruslan M — Google review
It is visually impressive, but for tourists, it is just a tower. There is some reading about the history of the tower for nerds like me in the middle section of the tower. But if it is just for the view, I wouldn't recommend taking 186 steps up. There are other alternatives, such as the Astronomical Clock.
North K — Google review
If you climb to the top, it's crazy! But as soon as you see it, just a few steps from the station, a 15th-century tower stands out among the city's newer buildings. I wonder how different it was before the renovation.
Mattia M — Google review
Yes it is worth the walk up. The view is amazing. If you go first thing in the morning they give you 50% discount. You also get to avoid the crowd. The ticket can be purchased from the outside booth across.

I’ve never heard of this artist before my visit in this museum and I’m sooo happy that I had the opportunity to get familiar with Mucha’s work! His art is very beautiful and poetic. Highly reccomend visiting this place.

This is a lovely museum dedicated to the work of Alfons Mucha. It takes about an hour and has an excellent historical collection that covers his full career. The museum has been expanded over the years and now has more information about his later years. Many people know his work, but don’t know he is behind it. I recommend a visit here and to the Obecní Dum in one day if you enjoy the Art nouveau style.

Alfonzo Mucha (1860–1939), known simply as Mucha, is a famous Czech painter and decorative artist famous for his distinctive Art Nouveau style. Mucha rose to fame through his chance collaboration with the iconic French actress Sarah Bernhardt. On Christmas Eve in 1894, Bernhardt urgently needed a new poster for her play “Gismonda,” and Mucha was commissioned to create it. This poster, was innovative for the time as a nearly 7’ thin poster instead of a standard 2’ x 3’ poster. The poster features Bernhardt as a Byzantine noblewoman with flowing robes and intricate design. Mucha was in his mid-thirties and became a breakthrough work that launched Mucha’s career. Bernhardt singed him to a six year contract and established Bernhardt as an Art Nouveau icon. After this success, Mucha designed jewelry, hairstyles, and more posters for Bernhardt, solidifying a long-term artistic partnership that greatly impacted both their careers. Mucha’s work for Bernhardt prominently featured her star power and helped define the visual style of that era’s theatrical posters Mucha returned to Prague in the 1910 and worked for many years on the Slav Epic. The Slav Epic is a mural series he was most proud of highlighting the history of all Slav people. Mucha died in 1939 after a prolonged German interrogation.

If you are a fan of Mucha's posters and art nouveau, this is a must. It won't take too long to go through. Its close to other popular places, and is inexpensive. The little store inside the museum has plenty of nice things to take home with you.

I didn't really know Mucha before visiting, but a friend took us to this beautiful museum as a group. The museum is basically a mix between a gallery and a museum. Anyone interested in art history should definitely take a look, as should anyone who is open to new things. Have fun!

I went on a Friday in November and the museum was almost empty - quite a shame, since Mucha’s art is so beautiful and the Savarin Palace hosting the exhibition is also very nice. Maybe I just got very lucky - I do recommend you go and try it yourself :)

All who are fans of the work of Mucha know of the two other exhibitions in Prague. This newest edition is run by the great grandson of the artist, which drives one to visit. Easily accessible between Wenceslas Square and the Palladium, the exhibit gas numerous private items and wonderful displays. Also, the gift shop is quite nice and not over priced. This ends the positive review. The cost (600 crowns for two of us) is nearly extortion for an exhibit this small. Add to that the sheer rudeness of the staff on hand. We live in the city and love the art and history of Mucha, so we were shocked at how the staff acted. I cannot in good faith recommend this museum due to those two issues.

Sights & Landmarks
The Church of Our Lady before Týn, also known as Týn Church, is a prominent 14th-century landmark in Prague. It features striking 80-meter-tall towers with ornate carvings and a baroque altarpiece. The church has undergone several alterations over the centuries due to changes in the city's allegiances.
One of the most recognizable symbols of Prague. Its Gothic spires rise above the Old Town Square and create a fabulous atmosphere of a medieval city. The temple has a centuries-old history, inside there is silence, grandeur and ancient tombs. The famous astronomer Tycho Brahe is buried here. Even if you don’t go inside, just looking at it at night is an unforgettable impression.

This church is an iconic landmark in Prague, not just because its a church but for its famous tower spires which dominate the city skyline of Prague. It really is visually spectacular, from afar and up close. I had the honour of being able to visit Prague this year in Sept 2025 and when I saw the Spires, it was a gasp (Wow) moment. The gothic architecture of the towers truly is a breath-taking moment. I've never seen anything quite like it. The church is also unique in the sense, the entrance is not visible straight away in the old town square. Tucked behind a few buildings, you access the church via a side alley. I thought they charged to enter as there was a guy trying to sell concert tickets but when I asked, he said the church was free to enter. You can take pictures of the information boards but not the church itself. It is visually impressive. There is a guy at the front to ensure you don't take photos. He is also selling postcards for the church which help towards the maintenance/upkeep. For me, the inside was okay, but the exterior of the church is what is eye-catching and grabs your attention. The church tower and its spires are what stands out amongst the square/Old Town. It is a stunning work of architecture.

Church of Our Lady before Týn The Church of Our Lady before Týn is a Gothic church in Prague’s Old Town, with origins dating back to the 11th century when a Romanesque church stood on the site. The current church was build between the 14th and 16th centuries. The iconic twin towers about 240’ high topped with two spires. The church has undergone numerous renovations reflecting Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, and Neo-Gothic styles. The two towers, called Adam and Eve, differ in height, symbolizing the avoidance of perfection and vanity. During my last trip to Prague I attended a classical music concert here. The acoustics inside are superb and the singing of Ave Maria was very moving. My hotel is one minute around the right side of this church.

The Church of Our Lady before Týn is one of Prague’s most striking and historically rich landmarks. With its twin Gothic spires rising dramatically above Old Town Square, it looks like something out of a fairytale — yet every stone tells a story from centuries past. Built in the 14th century, this magnificent church was the main spiritual center of the Hussite movement, a key part of Czech religious history. Inside, visitors are greeted by breathtaking Gothic architecture, a stunning Baroque altar, and the tomb of the famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe, who served at the court of Emperor Rudolf II. The contrast between its dark towers and golden details perfectly symbolizes Prague’s blend of mystery and majesty. Whether you admire it from the square or step inside to feel its timeless atmosphere, the Church of Our Lady before Týn is a masterpiece of faith, art, and history.

Second most popular attraction at Prague old town square. The first one being the astronomical clock :) I haven't stepped in, but from the outside, I thought this was one of the most beautiful gothic churches in the world. When you stand at the old town square, whether it is early morning or evening or late in the night, you are up for an amazing sight :)

We were here for the concert, the string orchestra played better than the one we had in Vienna grand hall. It was full house and the ticket price is totally reasonable for the experience. We were so impressed. The church has an interesting podium, different from other churches. There is a public toilet next to the church, need to pay 15 krona.

The Church of our Lady before Týn is one of the most breathtaking landmarks in Prague's Old Town. It's twin Gothic towers dominate the skyline and create a mysterious, almost fairytale atmosphere — especially when illuminated at night. Inside the church is just as impressive: a beautiful mix of late Gothic and Baroque styles, with intricate altars, paintings, and the tomb of the astronomer Tycho Brahe. It's quieter and less crowded than other major sights, which makes it perfect for taking a peaceful moment in the middle of the bustling Old Town Square. The contrast between the dark, dramatic exterior and the warm, richly decorated interior perfectly reflects Prague's blend of history and beauty. Definitely a must-see for anyone visiting the city

A landmark of the city and part of the cityscape for around 700 years. Famous for it's tall twin towers. Although originally from the 14th century, it has been reconstructed several times, and the inside of the church is from the 17th century. Opening times are a bit difficult, it is open some hours in the morning and in the afternoon only.
