Mukden Palace, also known as Shenyang Palace in China, is a grand and intricate palace complex that dates back to 1625. It was the residence of the Qing dynasty rulers until 1644 and now serves as a museum showcasing historical art and crafts. With its resemblance to a smaller Forbidden City, this impressive complex features 114 buildings including ornate ceremonial halls, imperial living quarters, and even a royal baby cradle.
Buy tickets with your passport, rent the English language audio guide which automatically knows where you are in the complex. It's a wonderful site but was being closed the following day for restoration so check when open again. It's busy but possible to find quiet corners. Buy souvenirs here...saw old school Communist memorabilia in shops near the palace and regret not buying them.

This was the imperial palace of the early Qing dynasty and the first 3 Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. Within the grounds are the work, living and recreation chambers of the royal family. The architecture and furnishing reflected the Han, Manchu and Mongolian ethnic influences. Beautiful, exquisite and intricate. Well worth a visit

A beautifully preserved palace rich in history and culture. The architecture is stunning, with intricate designs and vibrant colors. Each hall tells a story of the Qing Dynasty. Well-maintained and informative, it’s a must-visit in Shenyang for history lovers and photographers alike. We really had a great time here where we could witness rich history of Qing dynasty and culture.

Good to visit the same Qing palace as in Beijing, although is smaller but still huge, can easily spend half a day here, and as it as popular as the forbidden city in Beijing, here is less crowded, and in summer it is definitely more cooler as well. Alot of shops offer costumes and make up for photo taking.

The history of this place is amazing. Next time I will definitely follow the guidance regarding how much time you could spend there. As I had other commitments I needed to rush through the rooms and buildings, still it was worth it. Remember to bring your passport with you, they will check it when buying a ticket. Plenty of cafes inside to have a rest. Avoid public holidays if possible as it gets really crowded.

Lots of history and amazing view into the life of Manchu culture and rulers. The grounds can take a good 3-4 hours to cover them all, so hydrate for the summer heat and dress warm in winter, but we'll worth the visit regardless of the season. Stunning achitecture, unique furnishings, and impressively maintained as a world cultural site. It isn't as big as the Forbidden City in Beijing, but it gives just as good a view of history. For a unique experience, you can very affordably (about ¥100) don clothing reflective of its history to wear as you tour

This is the imperial palace built when the early Qing Dynasty entered customs. It's relatively simple. Located in the city center. It is recommended not to visit on holidays. Because there are many people in line. There are more people in the summer. Pay attention to sun protection. It won't be crowded in winter.

Go during weekday, not crowded.
