We went during the evening and really enjoyed our visit. The grounds were very clean and there were a ton of beautiful birds. I would recommend visiting this place to relax and learn.
Gregory T — Google review
Not very crowded in respect of human but very crowded in respect of birds. Very good experience. One should experience it. It is better to watch different migrated birds rather than other attractions in Vijayawada and Gantoor. Taken lot of photos there.
Parvinder S — Google review
The palce is good and you can see the information of the birds in the walkway there are many types of birds whn I visited

Jaya K — Google review
There are various types of migratory birds we can watch here all assembled near the lake. Such a view is just amazing. The place is well maintained with a canteen facility. The entry and parking charges are minimal. Go carry a good camera to get some excellent shots.
Ravindra V — Google review
Nice place, but really needs some upkeep. It's 20 rupees per adult, and parking's extra. I only saw, like, three or four kinds of birds. Total waste of a trip, honestly.
Abhijith V — Google review
An excellent tourist spot, but it needs a lot of development. Many types of water birds come from various parts of the world in different seasons. So birds are there all through the year.
Mandapati R — Google review

Sri Rajavasireddy Venkatadri Naidu, who made Venthapalli as his capital and ruled as Chintapalli as a zamindar, saw the sufferings caused by the spoons to the people and punished them. It is known that 108 Shiva temples were consecrated in Prakamuhurta in his Parakata for the purpose of atonement. Sri Venkatadrinaidu moved his capital from Chintapalli to Dhanyakataka in 1795 on the advice of Thina Amatyula. Dhanyakatakamu (Dharanikota) is known to have been the capital of the Satavahanas since the 4th century CE. The Tulabhara Mandapams built by Sri Krishna Devaraya and major renovations were carried out during his period. Sri Rajavasireddy Venkatadri Naidu can be found in the 2nd praharam. Sri Venkatadrinaidu named the area where the temple is located as Amaravati. During their reign, the present temple was renovated and the temple was blessed with constant incense offerings. Since Shiva saved Amaras- Devas from Tarukasura, called as Amaralingeswara. Some Historians believed that this temple was a Buddhist temple and the same might have been converted as a Hindu temple at a later date. Renovations and consecrations are conducted on 11th September 1992 and 2017.

Sri Amareswara Swamy Vari Devasthanam located beautifully on the banks of the Krishna River — one of the sacred Pancharama Kshetras dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple’s peaceful atmosphere, along with the divine view of the river, makes it a truly spiritual and memorable experience. The main deity, Lord Amareswara (Shiva), is worshipped here in the form of a sacred Sivalingam, believed to have been installed by Lord Indra himself. The temple’s ancient architecture and spiritual energy reflect the rich history of Amaravati, which was once a great Buddhist and Shaivite center. Really loved visiting this temple as part of my Pancharama Yatra — the journey felt divine and fulfilling. The temple’s serene surroundings and riverbank view make it a perfect place for peace and devotion. 🙏✨
Sreekanthnaidu G — Google review
This large ancient temple more than 1000 years old is located in Amaravati of Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh, on the banks of Krishna river and is considered to be one of the Pancha Ramulu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located on a small hillock which is accessible by steps and there is also a car path way to reach to the top. The temple is renowned for its architecture which is said to be a conglomeration of Dravidian and Buddhist styles. The garba graha houses the Shivlinga (Amareswar) and behind the same you would find a 15 foot marble Stupa structure on the top of which there is a Shivlingam. Abhishekam is performed for both the Shivalingas from the top by the priests, which is a divine sight to behold. There is also a shrine for Goddess Chamundeswari. In the first prakaram there are shrines of Kalatheeswara, Kasi Viswanatha, Srisailam Mallikarjun, Venugopal Swamy and Chandeeswara. There is a small shrine for Surya Bhagwan also. The firstouter prakaram houses the shrines of Ganapati, Kala Bhairva and Subramanya Swamy, besides the Sthala Vruksham which houses the idols of the serpant gods, Navagrahas, Hanuman and Sanishwar. The second outer prakaram houses the shrines of Mahishasura Mardini, Kosaleswara, Veerabhadra, Praneswara, Annapoora Devi samtha Kasi Visveswara, Uma Maheswara & Dattatreya, Jwalamukhi, Agastheeswar and Someswara, The temple thus is found quite large and it would take not less than an hour and a half for a complete darshan of all the Gods and Goddesses. The temple offers lodging facilities (both AC and Non AC) for devotees at a nominal rate, which can be booked over phone. The devotees can have a holy bath in Krishna river in the morning and have darshan at the temple. Om Nama Shivaya |
Sarva B — Google review
Very beautiful ancient temple. Very peaceful. You can get quick darshan in normal days. Temple is located next to the Krishna river.

Visited Amareswara temple during Dussehra time. Had a wonderful time. Vicinity of the temple is clean, calm and positive. We had taken abhishekam ticket and the priest had performed the rituals very well. As the temple lies on the banks of river Krishna one can happily sit near the bank after darshan.

Good breeze of river Krishna and felt very peaceful in the temple. For Antharalaya darshan you need to buy ticket of Rs. 100/-, per person.

History Museums
The Buddhist Archaeological Museum, located in Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh, is a small yet captivating museum showcasing artifacts dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD. Managed by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Board and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, this newly built museum features stunning exhibits such as statues of Buddha adorned with lotus symbols, curled hair, and long ear lobes.
This is a top notch and really underrated museum. Artifacts from 2-3 century as well. Very well preserved, some of it restored to original form. 5 Rs ticket! Is almost free. All information in English as well. Close to Buddha statue and Stupa as well (seperate tickets of 25 Rs each) Takes about 1 hr for it.

Great to see the exhibits. But there was no one to explain the exhibits which was a bit disappointing. But a well maintained museum and helpful staff.

Good management it was a pleasure to visit, lived up to it's reputation as a must visit tourism site. DON'T FORGET to visit the MAHA STUPA from where most of the museum excavations came. It is only a walking distance away from the museum.

It was a small museum. There were historical monuments inside. It was mostly empty. There were no other tourists visiting this place when I went there. It was calm inside. There was explanation of each artifact below them. The ticket was reasonable. There was no parking available outside the building.

We have visited this dam and the place is very good for the tourists. There is no entry fee and the environment is very clean and friendly. There are no much shops to purchase food items but there is one ice cream shop at the dam entry. Basically it is a bridge with around 10 to 15 dam gates and the water will be running down the bridge which will be very good to have a beautiful and amazing and awesome scenario to take pictures are to capture. There are two parks at the location which are not very well maintained but during evenings we can go there and spend time. We have visited this location afternoon at 3 PM but there are no much visitors I have observed. Overall it is a one time place where we can go with family or friends to have a snap and enjoy. I have shared all the images where I have taken at the time of my visit. I hope this review would be helpful for the people who want to search for the beautiful place at this location, I really suggest this place for you.

Mallela Thirtham Waterfall

Waterfalls
Scenic waterfall located in dense forest & accessed by a moderate hike with 300+ steps.
One of the best waterfalls. It flows in all the seasons. The place is very beautiful. One should take around 400 steps to reach the waterfalls. It is safe for all age groups and genders to visit the place as it is maintained by Telangana tourism. There is 20rs ticket for the entrance and 50 rs tool for the car.
Naveen V — Google review
A lovely weekend destination, you have to climb down 400 stairs down to get a glimpse of this lovely waterfall. I went in the month of Feb and hence there was not much water, however I am pretty sure that this place will be a delight during the monsoons. Once you reach to the waterfalls, be very careful when you move around the rocks as they are slippery and have sharp edges as well. Ensure you keep your belongings properly and secure as the monkeys out there will leave no stone unturned to surprise you when you come back. There are two entry fees - one at the check gate towards the road and the other once you reach the point - 20 rupees at each point per person. Ensure you carry one or two bottles of drinking water for sure because you won’t find any all the way down and you are definitely going to need at least one while coming back - the climb back to the top is steep.
Jyoti D — Google review
If you reach there as early as possible, you will have good availability to take nice picture. The waterfall is not that big enough for everyone to enjoy at the same time and take the picture simultaneously. So better go early morning. Take bath, the ticket is very cheap. Do not throw your garbage over there. Saw people leaving their unused garments atthe spot and making is the good spot to a dirty one.The maintainance already started so hopefully they will clean everything nearby and me the pond infront of the waterfall swim worthy.currenty it seems like mud.
Dhananjay K — Google review
One of the best waterfalls you can enjoy in the Nallamala Forest area. The place is peaceful covered in a dense Forest. Hiking is needed. There are around 400 steps you'll need to go down to reach the waterfalls. It's crowded almost all the time. Please carry a Face mask and some hand sanitiser with you. Stay safe. Bathing in the waterfalls isn't actually allowed as there may be possible accidents, but People can be seen taking baths. It's a bit dangerous and the officials should do something about it.
Teja T — Google review
Roughly 185 kms from mainland Hyderabad, the place makes for a good 1 day trip. The pristine drive through the Amrabad tiger reserve makes for something straight out of the movies!!! What awaits at the end is a steep walk down a staircase, roughly 400 steps down into the canyon. While small, it makes for a beautiful nature getaway from the daily routine of city life. You can click quite a good snaps if you're early avoiding the crowd. But do be careful, the stones are slippery and there's monkeys and snakes too. Recommended during the monsoon months. The ticket costs 20 bucks per head, and you might also run into a "toll booth", be careful of the latter.l
Ryan P — Google review
Hidden gem within deep Nallamala forest and perfect weekend getaway, which is located at about 160 km from Hyderabad. Lush green forest, journey through picturesque hills, pristine waters, chirping birds and sound of gushing water makes the experience memorable and blissful
Kamalasan V — Google review
Nice place to get refreshed and can enjoy the waterfalls There is enough parking place for mostly 25 four wheeler vehicles and nearly 30+ two wheelers parking space. After crossing the parking are there will be a shop for snacks, water bottles, refreshments etc. For entry to go near waterfalls, entry ticket costs Rs.20 per head 1 main to follow there is "No Littering" "Don't throw plastic waste" There are nearly 350steps to go near these waterfalls
Mokkapati M — Google review
This is around 150 km away from Hyderabad and it takes 3-4 hours to reach waterfall. This place is amazing for trekking experience. If you go as a tourist, then you just can visit the main waterfall but if you want to hike the forest then it will be a thrilling trek. One has to climb 400 stairs to see the main waterfall. Washrooms are available and a small garden is also there to relax. Food shops are not there so one should carry it.

It's a must visit place during rainy season. It's a nice experience to view the dam and water flow through the gates and it's stunning visuals. Sorry for the inconveniences that some of the videos are not clear due to rainy like water droplets. Finally you need to feel the experience of the waterfalls.

Paladhara-Panchadhara

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Bustling area visited regularly by pilgrims, offering 2 waterfalls that are said to taste sweet.
It's a nice place of waterfall. Paladhara‑Panchadara is a natural stream‑waterfall spot located about 4 km from Srisailam. It was in a narrow valley, with lush forest surroundings, and has several small waterfalls. Paladhara means a stream from the forehead of Lord Shiva, Panchadhara refers to five streams of Shiva. The legendary sage‑philosopher Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have meditated here in the 8th century, and to have composed devotional works like Sivanandalahari and Bhramaramba Ashtaka in this location. Statues of Adi Shankaracharya and Sarada Devi are installed here. Getting there involves about 150‑160 steps from the entry point down to the streams. Can get busy, especially during peak pilgrimage season or good weather times of rainy season, early morning is recommended to avoid rush and enjoy more peacefully. Paladhara‑Panchadara offers a mix of scenic beauty, spiritual atmosphere, and mild adventure. It’s not a high‑adrenaline place, but more for relaxation, reflection, enjoying nature, taking in rustic waterfalls, and visiting a site with historical mythological importance. For those who like nature and history, it’s highly rewarding. For those who prefer more comfort, more amenities, or no physical challenges, some parts may be inconvenient.

Minimal steps. Elders needs some time to climb up Looks simple and good 30 min to 40 min is enough for peacfully to visit If your runner late then may be 10 to 20 min you can complete if your not senior citizen. Based on your energy.

*A Seasonal Delight* This spot is truly breathtaking during the rainy season, with water flowing beautifully. However, during dry seasons, the water flow can be minimal or even nonexistent. *Visiting Tips* - Plan your visit according to the season if you want to see the spot in its full glory. - Parking is available on the roads. - Note that washroom facilities are not available. Make the most of your visit!

This is a waterfall almost 5 km from Srisailam. have to take 146 steps to reach.Small waterfalls beleived to be from the forehead and the five faces of Lord Shiva. This is the place Adi Shanakaracharya did penance and composed the Shivanandalahari and Soundaryalahari in praise of Lord and Amma(Goddesses).

The Paladhara–Panchadhara near Srisailam is a divine and scenic spot where holy streams of water flow continuously through the rocks. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya meditated here and composed the Sivanandalahari. The sound of the flowing water, surrounded by hills and greenery, creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Area wise it is one the biggest tiger reserve in India, but you can spot neither a single tiger there nor any other wild animal.Forest area is also not that dense due to deforestation. Do not go in rainy season as both safari and park are closed for public. Winter season is best to visit

Visited Sri Sakshi Ganapathi Swamy Temple near Srisailam. The temple is small but very sacred, with Lord Ganesha (Bappa) giving blessings to every devotee. Ishtakameshwari Devi Temple is located deep inside the jungle. Tickets are limited, only 120 tickets are sold per day out of which 16 are sold online and rest offline at the Shikaram counter. These tickets are sold one day in advance. Jeeps take you from the Shikaram counter to the temple through a rough and bumpy jungle road. Thereafter a trek of around half kilometer will take you to the temple. The Goddess is very powerful for believers and one has to go inside a small tunnel to have darshan. The idol is magical and when one puts sindoor on the forehead, it feels as if the idol is alive. Wishes are said to be fulfilled if you pray with full devotion. The tribals who maintain the temple offer food to the devotees free of cost. The food is very tasty and you can donate towards this. The road is being developed and everyone can visit the temple.

Unforgettable experience. Sri Ishta Kameshwari Devi, believed to be a powerful Goddess inside Nallamala forest. Chenchu tribals worship the Goddess everyday and now a large number of pilgrims also mark their presence. Wonderful place but much disturbance to the forest now. This is the only temple of Ishtakameshwari devi Mata. Visited in 2020 with family, several times all alone and spotted wildlife there also. The idol of Devi maa is unique. And devotees are called by Devi Ma itself. She is a powerful Goddess. It is believed that all wishes are fulfilled if you visit the temple, and warship the Goddess whole-heartedly. This is approx 7km inside forest from the Srisailam Road.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam is a historic Hindu temple complex located on the Nallamala Hills, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples and holds significance in Hindu mythology. The temple, built in the 14th century, features intricate sculptures and a scenic location along the Krishna River.
I recently visited the Mallikarjun Jyotirling Temple in Srisailam, and it was a truly divine experience. The place has a strong spiritual energy — peaceful, well maintained, and beautifully surrounded by nature. I opted for the ₹300 Ati Shighra Darshan ticket, which was absolutely worth it. The queue moved smoothly, and I could have darshan comfortably without too much waiting time. The temple staff were helpful and guided everyone patiently, which made the whole process easy and respectful. One thing to remember — mobile phones and cameras are strictly not allowed inside the temple premises. You’ll need to keep them in the lockers provided before entering. Also, there’s a strict dress code here. Only decent traditional wear like pant and shirt, kurta-pyjama, or dhoti is allowed. Jeans, shorts, and torn clothes are not permitted, and the security staff are quite particular about it. The temple architecture is beautiful, and the vibe inside feels very pure and calming. If you plan to visit, go early in the morning or in the evening for a more peaceful experience. Overall, it’s a must-visit Jyotirling for anyone seeking a genuine spiritual experience amidst serene surroundings.

The ancient architecture, powerful vibrations, and serene surroundings fill your heart with spiritual bliss. A perfect blend of nature, devotion, and timeless beauty—this is a place every devotee must experience at least once in their lifetime. 🙏✨

A truly divine and peaceful place surrounded by dense forest, offering breathtaking natural views. The temple radiates amazing energy and positive vibes of Lord Shiva. Morning darshan is especially serene and not too crowded. Visitors should wear simple traditional clothes or dhoti, as western wear is not allowed. There are good, budget-friendly dormitory stay options near the temple. Apart from the main shrine, you can explore scenic viewpoints, local markets, ropeway rides, and nearby holy sites like Sakshi Ganapati and Pathala Ganga, making it a spiritually and naturally enriching experience.

Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple – A Divine Dawn at Srisailam The experience of visiting **Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple** in the early morning hours is one that words can hardly capture. Nestled amidst the serene Nallamala hills, this ancient temple stands as one of the twelve *Jyotirlingas* dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the eighteen *Shakti Peethas* devoted to Goddess Parvati, in her form as *Bhramaramba Devi*. This sacred confluence of Shiva and Shakti makes Srisailam one of the most powerful spiritual centers in India, where devotion and divinity seem to flow through the very air. As you approach the temple at dawn, around **5:00 a.m.**, the atmosphere transforms into something truly mystical — the gentle hum of chants, the ringing of bells, and the fragrance of camphor and jasmine together create an aura that feels like the divine itself has awakened with the first light of day. Booking the **Alankara Darshanam ticket** in advance adds to the convenience and allows for a seamless experience of witnessing the Lord in his adorned form. The early morning hour is considered most auspicious, and as the temple doors open, the cool breeze carries a sense of sanctity that instantly calms the mind. The **darshanam**, though completed within **10 minutes**, leaves an impression that lasts far longer. The moment you stand before **Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy**, the *Jyotirlinga* radiates a tranquil glow, symbolizing the eternal presence of Shiva. The priests perform the *Alankaram* (decoration) with utmost devotion — adorned with flowers, sandal paste, and sacred ornaments, the deity exudes divine grace and energy. The quiet reverence among the devotees and the rhythmic sound of mantras make it an experience beyond material understanding — it feels as though the entire world has come to a standstill before the supreme power. Following this, the **darshan of Goddess Bhramaramba Devi** completes the journey of devotion. The sanctum of Ammavaru is filled with divine vibrations, her idol beautifully decorated with turmeric, kumkum, and flowers. Her eyes seem alive — radiating both compassion and strength. Sitting for a few moments in front of **Bhramaramba Devi**, one can feel a mother’s warmth and the goddess’s powerful energy blending into one. The sound of *Devi Stotras* being chanted by devotees enhances the experience, and you can sense the protective aura that surrounds the entire shrine. It’s said that a visit to Srisailam is incomplete without seeking the blessings of Ammavaru, for she is the very embodiment of Shakti that sustains the universe. After the darshan, taking a **peaceful walk around the temple premises** for an hour is in itself a form of meditation. The temple corridors, built in traditional Dravidian architecture, echo with ancient chants and stories of saints who once walked the same paths. The morning mist slowly lifting over the temple towers (gopurams) adds a divine glow to the surroundings. The sight of devotees circumambulating the temple barefoot, heads bowed in prayer, fills the heart with humility and gratitude. The rhythmic clang of bells, the faint sound of temple drums, and the occasional cry of distant birds together compose a symphony that quiets the mind completely. Sitting in one of the temple corners after the darshan — especially near the **Krishna River view or under the ancient Peepal tree** — is a deeply meditative experience. The early morning stillness, interrupted only by the soft chants and the rustling of leaves, allows your thoughts to dissolve into peace. Many devotees simply sit in silence, eyes closed, feeling the presence of the divine within. It’s in these moments that one realizes why Srisailam is regarded as a place of liberation (*Moksha Prapthi Kshetram*). The union of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba symbolizes the balance of energy — *Shiva and Shakti*, *Silence and Sound*, *Peace and Power*.

The Shri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam is an incredibly powerful and must-visit pilgrimage site. It holds the rare and sacred distinction of being both one of the 12 Jyotirlingas (Lord Shiva) and one of the Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas (Goddess Bhramaramba) located in the same complex. Also it is budget friendly trip. Lots of staying options are available near temple and by online booking you can get sparsh darshan.

The temple is truly a peaceful and divine place where one can feel positive energy and calmness. I always find a sense of inner peace here. However, the management needs serious improvement. The temple authorities and staff often behave rudely with devotees, which spoils the spiritual experience. There is no proper communication or announcement regarding temple closing times, leaving visitors confused and disappointed. Also, the Sparsh Darshan tickets are available only through the official online site, but the website is poorly designed and often doesn’t work properly. It would be much better if the temple management focused on improving the online system and showing more respect and hospitality towards devotees.

The only Shrine in India with Both the Jyothirlingam and Shakti Peetham located with in the same Pranganam of the Temple. One of the most powerful temples in India. Srisailam has a good connectivity by Bus from major cities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If by Train, the nearest Stations are Markapur Road/ Nandyala. Depsite being the Shakti Peetham and Jyothirlingam, temple won't be much crowded as it is in the interior part of the State. Can expect more crowd during Special Occasions and on weekends. We visited in the Karthika Maasam and on weekend. It took 1hr for us for Darshanam. Crowd increases from morning to evening. Plan to reach temple premises by night or in the morning as the Ghat road will be closed midnight as it is forest area. Lot number of Hotels/ Satram's/ Dharamshala's will be there near Shrine. Please note that Sparsha Darshanam will only be there on weekdays and can be booked online. Have a beautiful Stay!

Excellent Nandi temple. No. 7 in the list of Nava Nandi temples of Nandyala area. No. 8 Vinayaka Nandi is inside temple complex only. Only flaw is the temple administration who are trying to lead devotees to fraud practices of purchasing entry ticket 50₹ -100₹ for Seeghra darshan and 150₹ for Sparsha darshan to enter stating long queue, waiting time, darshan time of 1hr or so and buy Seeghra darshan tickets for fast entry etc when the queue is manageable, entry and darshan doesn't take much time etc. Parking for car costs 80₹ but no proper rules regulations noone to safeguard or check or follow rules. Male and Female pushkarini for people to bathe and see the lord.

The temple is unique and cannot be found at any other place. The main Lingam in the temple is a mole hill. One can have Sparsha Darshan in this temple by touching the main deity. The architecture in the temple is to be seen to believe especially of the Goddess Saraswathi and Lord Vishnu in the ceiling. A little more interest in keeping the premises clean would definitely make this place beautiful.

Mahanandi is one of the Nava nandi (nine) temple. Its very old and historical temple backs 1500 years of history. The main deity is Mahanandeeshwara (Shiva). The initial structure was done by Badami chalukyas and later renovated by many kingdoms. Mahanandi is famous for its fresh water pool called pushkarini, the water is clister clear and many people come here for bath. This temple is 20km from Nandyala and for accomidation you can find many hotels outside the temple.

The temple is very beautiful and the entire area is very clean. But outside this temple it is written as free darshan but once inside they charge Rs 50 pp and the management of this temple is very rude in their dealings with the devotees and the language they speak is not good. They only see money in devotees.

Temple environment is very refreshing and peaceful, good place for lord Shiva devotees. Temple devasthanam is maintaining cleanliness and healthy environment. Need to appreciate on that. But few priests became commercial as they are expecting high dakshina. I guess Devasthanam is already paying good salary to Garbagruha priest but still he is expecting/demanding huge dakshina from devotees. All devotees may not be capable enough to offer as per priest expectation which makes him disappointed/grimble and it's not a good sign. Few Priests expectations are increasing day by day.

This temple is more than 500 years old. Diety here is Sri Ranganatha Swamy and is a swayambhu vigraham. This temple is built by the Wanaparti dynasts. This is about 15 KM from the Hyd - Blr highway at Pebbair. It is besides a large lake fed by Krishna river. Temple has a large wooden door leading to a large coutyard from where one can enjoy the crisp, fresh air from the lake. Temple is large, airy and is well maintained. This temple has 3 levels beneath it where the original Raja Ravi Varma paintings are displayed. This was perhaps collected by the dynasts over centuries. Must visit with family and friends.

Very nice temple. This temple is around 400 years old built by Kings of Wanaparthy. The temple is dedicated to Sri Ranganayaka Swamy (Vishnu). It’s a swyambhu idol. As you are in the temple it feels like you are in Sri Rangam of TN. Less crowd and very nice environment. The temple cleanliness and maintenance is also very nice. There are no parking charges. Lodging and boarding you will have to go to Wanaparthy and for tea / tiffin and light food there are some hotels at Pebbair. On the highway you can find good Udupi hotels for lunch and dinner. This temple is a very good one day trip for all Hyd people. Away for the city and calm environment will soothe your nerves for sure. Jai Sri Ram 🙏

The Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple in Srirangapuram, Telangana, has a rich history dating back to the 18th century AD. According to legend, King Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire was inspired to build this temple after visiting the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu. The king had a divine dream where Lord Vishnu appeared and guided him to the location of the idol, which was found between Karapakala hills and Kothakota. The temple was then constructed near Ratna Pushkarini Lake. *Construction*: Built in the 18th century AD by the Rajas of Wanaparthy Samsthanam *Architecture*: Classic example of Vijayanagara architecture style *Inspiration*: Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu *Festivals*: Kotai Vutsavalu during Sankranti Festival, Rathotsavam during March, and Navaratri celebrations

I had the privilege of visiting the Sri Ranganayaka Swami Temple at Wanaparthy, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The temple itself is a beautiful structure set in equally beautiful surroundings — serene, divine, and absolutely amazing. A special highlight of my visit was the museum of 300-year-old Tanjore paintings. These rare and exquisite works of art are a treasure that reflect our rich cultural heritage. I feel grateful to those who have been maintaining them all these years. At the same time, I sincerely wish these priceless paintings are preserved more scientifically and provided the attention and care they truly deserve, so future generations can continue to admire them. Overall, the temple and its treasures make it a must-visit for anyone interested in spirituality, history, and art.

Orvakallu Rock Gardens is a sprawling 1000-acre park that boasts of unique rock formations, ponds and a cave museum. It offers picturesque hiking trails that are popular among visitors who come here to take photographs. However, entry fees need to be paid and there have been reports of alcohol bottles found in the area which should not be allowed in public spaces. Additionally, visitors have noted a lack of proper maintenance with littered bottles strewn about and names etched on the rocks.
A beautiful natural formation located near the Kurnool Airport near the town of Orvakal. During cloudy days or in the evenings, one can peacefully enjoy the beautiful and ancient unique rock formations and canyon like features and boulders present in the area. There’s some parking available as well as basic food and washrooms but they aren’t that great. It’s good for a quick visit on the Rayalaseema Expressway between Kurnool and Tirupati or Chittoor. However, one must be vigilant of the drop into the canyon, as well as monkeys which can sometimes steal food or other items from visitors.

Excellent, but during summer it will be very hot. During rainy season water will be flowing down the rocks which is very beautiful. For still camera they are charging 1000/- which is very bad. It is same as the money they are collecting for a pre-wedding shoot. Climbing rocks can be very good especially for children.

Nestled along the serene banks of the River Tungabhadra, the Dakshina Shirdi Sai Baba Temple stands as a revered pilgrimage site in Kurnool. This stunning star-shaped temple, with its traditional Shikhara crowning the structure, has been captivating visitors for over 70 years. The sanctum houses a striking white marble idol of Sai Baba, drawing devotees year-round, especially on bustling Thursdays when crowds swell to witness its beauty and tranquility.
This is called as Dakshina shiridi , one of the first temples of Sai Baba in south of india. Constructed at the banks of thungabadhra river in a star shaped structure. Very peaceful and calm, you literally feel sai baba presence during daily arathis.

Visited the temple after a long time. My last visit was in 2011. When I was a child we used to visit the temple whenever we visited Kurnool for vacation. I remember taking a coracle ride after darshan. That was in the early 90s. Nostalgic moment for me whenever I visit Kurnool.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 A truly divine and peaceful place! The Sai Baba Temple in Kurnool offers a spiritually uplifting experience. As soon as you enter the premises, you feel a deep sense of calm and serenity. The temple is beautifully maintained and the surroundings are very pleasant. One of the most special things here is the view of the Tungabhadra river—absolutely breathtaking! The temple is situated close to the riverbed, and from certain spots, you can enjoy a scenic, soul-soothing view that makes your visit even more memorable. Thursdays are especially sacred here. The Anna Prasadam (free meal) served is not just tasty but offered with devotion, making it feel even more special and divine. Whether you're seeking peace, blessings, or just a quiet moment by the river, this place has it all. A must-visit if you're in or around Kurnool! 🙏✨

Yaganti is located about 80 kms off the NH near Kurnool. The Uma Maheswara Temple is built by the Vijayanagara Kings in the 16th century. The place is surrounded by hills and is surreal. The drive takes you through hills and ravines and is an adventure in itself... worth the drive. We really enjoyed the beauty of the place and its history... legend says that Sage Bramha and Sage Agastya meditated in the caves surrounding the Temple. A must visit with family to understand our Rich culture and history.

Yaganti temple is very old and historical temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the Garbhagruha, if closely observed, you can see both Uma (Parvathi) and Maheswara (Shiva) images on Lingam, thats why the name Uma Maheswara. We can touch the Lingam if we take special ticket for abhishekam and perform the abhishekam with our own hands. Inside the temple is very calm and peaceful, we can even do the meditation. There is a water pond inside the temple where the water flow continuously, not sure where it comes from. The main attraction of the temple is the Basavanna (Bull), who is growing every year. There are many historical caves around this temple, Dont miss to visit them.

Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple

At the Abhaya Anjaneya Temple, there is no need to buy any tickets or wait in line to enter. The temple is surrounded by beautiful green nature, creating a peaceful and calm atmosphere. Nearby, there is also the Maa Lakshmi Temple, which adds to the spiritual and serene surroundings among the mountains. One of the most amazing sights here is the natural rock formation. Between two big stones, there is a small stone holding the weight of the larger one above it. It’s truly a wonder to see how the big stone is perfectly balanced on the small one without crushing it. This scene teaches us an important life lesson — no matter whether we are big or small, young or old, everyone faces problems. But, just like that small stone, God gives us the strength and courage to hold our problems and stay strong. Even when strong winds blow, the stones do not fall. Similarly, we must also stand firm in the face of challenges. Nature at this temple teaches us how to live with balance, strength, and faith.

Spiritually Powerful and Serene – A Must-Visit Temple The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, located a short drive from Mantralaya, is a spiritually charged and deeply divine place. Believed to be where Lord Hanuman revealed his five-faced (Panchamukhi) form, this temple is surrounded by natural rock formations and peaceful silence — making the entire experience mystical and unforgettable. The temple stands on a small hill, and as you climb up, you feel a sense of calm and surrender. The deity of Panchamukha Anjaneya is carved into a rock and exudes immense power and grace. Just standing there in silence fills your heart with strength and devotion. The surrounding area is clean, and though the temple is in a remote place, it's well maintained. The scenic view, peaceful vibes, and divine energy make it a perfect stop for anyone visiting Mantralaya. Highly recommended for those seeking inner strength, peace, and blessings from Lord Hanuman. One of the most spiritually fulfilling experiences I've had.

The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, also known as the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, is a significant pilgrimage site located in Panchamukhi, near Mantralayam, in the Raichur district of Karnataka, India. It is situated on the south bank of the River Tungabhadra, approximately 15 to 20 kilometers from Mantralayam. The temple is located on a hillock and is renowned for its unique five-faced idol of Lord Hanuman, which is sculpted directly into a large rock, making it a swayambu (self-manifested) form. This temple holds great historical and spiritual significance. It is believed that Sri Raghavendra Swamy, the revered saint of Mantralayam, meditated here for twelve years before settling in Mantralayam. According to legend, Lord Hanuman appeared in his Panchamukhi form (with faces of Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda, and Varaha) to Raghavendra Swamy after his meditation. The temple is also associated with the story of Hanuman's battle against Ahiravana, where he took on the five-faced form to extinguish five lamps simultaneously.

Panchamukhi Aanjaneya temple is formed in the rock, along with Aanjaneya you can see laksmi venkataraman, Ganapati and Rayaru. Saturdays you can expect some rush, but other days it's normal. Around this temple you can see Big Rocks naturally formed which looks like bed, Pushpaka vimana. And near by this temple you can visit one more devi temple.

Long queue. 100 rupees/head for a fast darshan. The queues are actually long but it may look small because it is hidden inside the side of the temple. The main Hanuman is inside a cave shielded by a silver armour (type thing) and the idol is flat on the ground (isnt upright) there are many other Idols of Gods and goddesses (upright). Prasadam is a sweet and kalakand(packets) for 50 rupees The way to reach the main shrine is by steps. There is good parking space.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Vaari Matham is a sprawling temple complex situated along the riverside, dedicated to a Hindu saint. The temple boasts of magnificent stone carvings and hosts daily rituals. Visitors can contribute to Annadanam and buy prasadam as well. The temple provides ample space for devotees, with many lodges available in the vicinity for accommodation.
Mantralaya Mutt is a very divine and holy place where Sri Raghavendra Swamy entered Jeeva Samadhi. The atmosphere here is filled with spiritual energy and peace, and as soon as you enter the mutt premises you feel completely blessed. The Brindavana darshan of Rayaru is a life-changing experience, and the chanting of mantras creates a very powerful vibration that touches the heart. The temple is very well maintained and the priests perform seva and puja with great devotion. On special days and Aradhana Mahotsava, the entire mutt is beautifully decorated and thousands of devotees gather to take blessings. Free prasadam is served daily to all, and the arrangements are very organized even when the crowd is heavy. Accommodation is also available nearby with good facilities for pilgrims. Visiting Mantralaya is not just a temple darshan, it is a spiritual journey that gives immense peace, hope and strength. Truly a must-visit place for every devotee of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.

I have visited sri rayara matha recently, it was Ekadashi day so it was very crowd. You will feel different devotional vibes here that you can experience. Suggestion to temple authority: Need to maintain public washrooms and drinking water facility. Private people occupied this void and earning somuch. Suggestion to devotees: As it an sacred place, request everyone to maintain cleanness around the place, and for accommodation do not rely on private hotels, temple rooms are very offordable and well maintained too, please use temple accommodation.

A truly divine and peaceful experience. The Mantralaya temple, the Brindavana of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy, is a place of immense spiritual power and tranquility. The atmosphere is charged with devotion, and the positive energy is palpable. Spending time here, you can feel the blessings of the Guru. For those planning to visit, here is a helpful tip: If you wish to avoid the long queues, you can purchase the Anna Santarpane (Annadanam) ticket for ₹1000. This ticket is a donation towards the temple's food service and allows up to 8 people to have a special, expedited darshan. I was able to use this ticket multiple times during my visits, which was a great help and allowed me to have darshan without a long wait. It's a fantastic way to both contribute to a noble cause and have a peaceful darshan. I would like to conclude my review with a prayer to Guru Raghavendra. This popular shloka beautifully captures his essence: Poojyaya Raghavendraya Satya Dharma Ratayacha | Bhajatam Kalpa Vrikshaya Namatam Kamdhenave || Meaning: My salutations to the venerable Raghavendra, who is devoted to truth and righteousness. He is like the wish-fulfilling tree to his devotees and like the divine cow (Kamadhenu) to those who bow to him. A visit here is highly recommended for anyone seeking spiritual solace

Good this first no doubt Divine and spiritual place you must visit. Program inside temple and place it self take you to mind fullness. The aura of temple and great sages still overwarms you in peace. Large corridor which can accommodate lot of people special Prasadam (parimala). Crafted all Pura as, temples etc on walls with colourful must watching. Comes to other side discussion Its clear Management cannot handle large crowed. Clearly visible of recommendation and other rules breaking culture in temple like some one come in middle with some one permission and joins directly and go i side. No proper line Management out side temple. people pushing like anything. they are only focused on taking cash tickets but not arranging any board about prices and rules inside no security to handle people who come in middle of line or reverse line. No online transaction only cash. I don't see Digital India they just want cash. Room booking is really like hell you don't get online easily or direct easily. Except the temple and temple corridor you don't find any clean places. Finally you should not talk about roads if you are coming towards jogulamba its just roller coster you get will tried by you reach the temple.

Divine feelings of Raghavendra swamiji is sure, but i hated the system which doesn't care about the people. Mark my words, the next big stampede may happen here. Very hot spot place. Police and people rush management service is nill. The Darshan time is around 5 or 6am, but actually there is no security maintenance to maintain queue system and also no cleanliness in surroundings, There is a ritual to take holy dip in river tungabhadra, but you know there is no proper dress room especially for women and children. Cleanliness is nill here. You take a dip there, you pee there, you spit there, that's the holy water we bathing.I don't what administration and management us doing, but it's worst scenario,as there is rise in devotees government has not yet planned to take an action. If there is something robbery or anything happens, you just can feel that's the fate with no deserving help service from police or security or management. The lodges surrounding here fares ₹3000 to ₹6000, which is too high. Totally it's unplanned, unserviced. I don't know what NEWS MEDIA is doing, there job is to check whether all the things are properly functioning. Cautioning again "Stampede chance is 99%". SRI RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY MATHA

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Large riverside temple complex with stone carvings & daily rituals, dedicated to a Hindu saint.

The Temple area completely Divine and best for 2days stay. 1. Rooms are good but bedsheets are not changing, no hot water in room. 2. in temple area entrance behind annapurna bhojanalaya 2 places total 3 places toilets are kept, but all places its very dirty no cleaning staff nor any security. Suggestion: Please appoint cleaning staff you can charge Rs.5 to 10 per person but all toilets should be clean and hygienically maintained.

Divine feelings of Raghavendra swamiji is sure, but i hated the system which doesn't care about the people. Mark my words, the next big stampede may happen here. Very hot spot place. This is very sacred place. I have been visiting this place since my childhood, now I am 68 years old. During my last visit, I cannot help, but felt this place is changing fast. This place, once very sacred and holy, turning into a tourist spot with all the glitter and grandeur. With ever increasing visitors, there's hardly any facilities. Since the Mutt is under state government, neither the government nor the Mutt administration bother about visitors safety and facilities. No seperate que system for ailing and aged ( senior citizens). Only hefty Seva receipt holders get priorities. Poor Sevarthis left high and dry. Pradakshina and Namaskare Seva has became things of past. Concerned authorities and Mutt administration must act upon these things and try to bring back holiness and sacredness to this place.

Ballari Fort

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Hilltop remains of a stone military fortress, founded in the 16th century and renovated in the 18th.
Go to place for 1 day, but definitely not in summer. Careful with steps as they are uneven at some places. We need to buy a ticket at the bottom of the fort. Taking water bottle is suggested as there is nothing on the way or at the top of the place.
Sneha K — Google review
The fort is amazing .. The 1 star is for the ASI security staffs. They need to be more respectful to the visitors.. no wash room facility as it is locked.. drinking water was available.. Anyway.. it took one hour to reach the top.. carry umbrella and water.. ticket 25 rs.. you need to submit your aadhar id and go to the fort.. collect it after visiting.. access to some visitors were not allowed only because they didn't have proper id with them.. They call your phone number and ask you to come down if you take longer in the fort.. The fort is believed to have been constructed during the Vijayanagara Empire's reign in the 16th century by Hande Hanumappa Nayaka, one of its feudatories. It was later substantially expanded and fortified by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore, in the 18th century. After Hyder Ali's death, his son, Tipu Sultan, made further modifications to the fort to strengthen its defenses. It is said that a French engineer who worked on the fort’s fortification was executed by Tipu Sultan for overlooking a key flaw—the fort was vulnerable to attack from a neighboring hill, Kumbara Gudda. Tipu Sultan believed this flaw compromised the fort’s defensibility, leading to the engineer's death. In 1800, the British East India Company took control of Bellary Fort after defeating Tipu Sultan during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War. The British made some additional modifications and used the fort primarily as an administrative and military base during their occupation.

Bellary Fort is one of the most fascinating yet underrated heritage spots in Karnataka. Built on the massive granite hill called Ballari Gudda (Fort Hill), the fort has a very unique charm where natural boulders are seamlessly blended into its defensive walls. The fort is divided into two parts – the Upper Fort and the Lower Fort. The climb to the Upper Fort is quite steep and requires some effort, but the panoramic view from the top makes it completely worth it. You can see the entire Ballari city, the plains, and the reddish granite glowing beautifully during sunset. The Lower Fort, built later by Hyder Ali with the help of a French engineer, contains barracks, water tanks, and remnants of military structures that give you a glimpse of its historical importance. What I liked: ✅ Spectacular views, especially at sunrise or sunset 🌅 ✅ Peaceful atmosphere with fewer crowds compared to other forts ✅ Great spot for photography and history lovers ✅ Strong historical significance, dating back to Vijayanagara times and later expanded by Hyder Ali What could be improved: ⚠️ Limited signage and information boards – you need a guide or some prior reading to fully appreciate the history ⚠️ No proper shops or facilities nearby – carry water, snacks, and wear good shoes for the climb ⚠️ Maintenance could be better in some areas Overall, Bellary Fort is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. It may not be as popular as Hampi or Chitradurga, but it offers an authentic experience, untouched beauty, and a chance to feel the history of Karnataka in a very raw and natural setting. Definitely recommended for history enthusiasts, trekkers, and anyone looking for an offbeat heritage trip.

Ballari Fort, located on Ballari Hill in Karnataka, is a historic site built during the Vijayanagara Empire. The fort is divided into two parts: the Upper Fort and the Lower Fort. Key Features: 1. Upper Fort: Built on a monolithic rock, it served as a military stronghold with rugged defenses, including watchtowers and reservoirs. 2. Lower Fort: Constructed later, it housed administrative buildings, a temple, and public spaces. History: Initially built by Hanumappa Nayaka, a feudatory of the Vijayanagara Empire. Strengthened by Hyder Ali of Mysore in the 18th century, who added fortifications with the help of a French engineer. However, a design flaw in cannon placement reportedly led to the engineer's execution. Unique Aspects: The fort's location provides a strategic vantage point with a panoramic view of the city. It features a blend of Indian and Islamic architectural styles. The hill and surrounding area are rich in granite, contributing to the fort's durable construction. Today, Ballari Fort is a popular tourist attraction, reflecting the region's military and cultural history.

Ballari fort is too good to visit during the morning and evening time to see the sunrise or sunset. It would take nearly 3 hours to see the full fort very neatly.

Bellary Hill Fort is a magnificent, stunning fortification, one of the top three best forts in our beautiful state undoubtedly. Having visited so many of them in our state I can confidently say so. Maintained very well by the ASI. I and my friend hiked up the fort (400+ steep steps) recently in Aug 2025 early morning, starting around 7.15am when weather was kind. If you can buy online ticket on ASI website on the spot, can enter early morning. If you want to buy off line, the counter opens at 830am. Location is well within city limits. The fort is simply awesome. Nevertheless, it was sad to see our distinguished visitors discarding their plastic waste wherever they wish all along the Fort. ASI doesn't have so much resources to clean up trash left behind by our distinguished visitors on an ongoing basis... The fort has three layers of fortification. Walking along each of the periphery itself is quite long, as we found it for ourselves. Don't miss visiting this magnificent, sprawling fort. Pls remember to leave it clean, carry your waste with you back to base. At the base clean washrooms available. An ancient Nandi temple is also located at the base. Carrying water is a must but not discarding the waste plastics along the Fort...

One of the beautiful historical forts of India. Have to climb and walk a lot. Take water and eatables with you to refresh. Mesmerizing views are waiting for you.

First we felt it waste of time and money but after reached top approx 400 steps the view was amazing and beautiful… at that movement no one has there… the movement was captured… there best time to visit this place is morning and expect summer…. More history was hidden in this place…. There is no architecture in this place but should learn how to construct…this is one of the best monument… should visit and save it…. Entry fee Rs25 and just 2km from Ballary station….easy transportation….

Quite small area, but better. Nice to see white peckok. Bring water. Good place for small kids to play.
Bisweswar S — Google review
As the name suggests it is a small zoo. One can see Birds, leopards, snakes, deer, crocodiles, monkeys and a few other animals. The zoo is maintained in an ok manner though there is definitely scope for improvement. One does feel sorry for the animals as they have very limited space to move around. There is also a good play area for kids. Overall a good outing for an hour or two especially for families with kids.

Very nice place for kids, kids really enjoy a lot here, parking place available, toilets not sure, entrance ticket fee for adults rs 20 and child above rs 10 rupees.

Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary

Wildlife and safari park
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Set atop a forest, this sprawling sanctuary provides public tours & up-close views of sloth bears.
This place is a hidden gem! The facilities are well-maintained, including clean restrooms, and it's a fantastic spot for birdwatching. The forest department staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The jungle safari was a highlight. We rented a jeep for the fixed cost of ₹3000, which we were able to split among our group. If you are a solo traveller you may have to wait for a group to form alot bear the entire cost if you are on a tight schedule. Our guide was excellent—he took his time, stopping to point out different wildlife and never rushed us. We even got to see bears from a watchtower! For professional photographers, there's a special option for an additional ₹500 to get a closer look from a caged enclosure. Shout out to our guide for making the trip so enjoyable, and to the forest department for maintaining this beautiful, peaceful place. The zoo, Kaladham, and Hampi are also nearby, making this a great day trip. Highly recommend it!
Arun G — Google review
Its a widely spread sanctuary over 100 acres and has over 500 Sloth bears around. You are sure to spot on your visit, more so after noon as the forest officials attract them to a nearby spot for watching them from close and taking pics. Also, a place to spot many other species of birds around !!
Sanjeev G — Google review
You can book a whole safari vehicle for yourself it will cost Rs.3000 plus additional Rs.500 if you have DSLR with big lens, if you want to spot sloth bear from very close range better to go to hideout which will cost Rs.500 more per head. From the ticket counter to sanctuary, it will take 30 to 45 mins on the way you can spot many birds.
Rohit J — Google review
Good place. Can be more helpful if proper derails are provided in google. Phone numbers. Safari timings. Etc
Smita G — Google review
The place is good. Very serene. But the safari wasn't quite upto the expectations. The safari jeep takes you to a watch tower and provides binoculars to watch the bears from a considerable distance. You may not always get to see bears, so, there are high chances for disappointment. The safari would be worthwhile if the jeep goes deep inside the jungles and show bears at a close distance.
Vijay S — Google review
Very peaceful place, as our stay is at JLR, resort people arranged jungle safari, on the way we spotted peacocks and variety of birds after reaching to watch tower we spotted sloth bears, very nice place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Ramjee T — Google review
This place is located around 14 km from the main point of boarding. You have to take a jeep safari which would cost you Rs 300/ person. The facilities at the boarding point include a toilet and sitting area. The jeep safari was quite interesting as we could see several wild birds on our way. We had to climb a watch tower to check out the Bears. However, we couldn't spot any even with the binoculars. Timing for the safari is between 2pm- 4 pm.
Moon P — Google review
One of the best places to spot sloth bear. Forest is not very dense. Bear spotting is done mainly from a watch tower. Safari is held in 2 batches - one at 1.30 pm and other at 3.30 pm, in forest dept gypsy (charge of full gypsy Rs. 2000 inclusive of all). Online booking was not available when we visited. So had to take one day advance booking from sanctuary counter. Best to take 1.30 safari, as during that time forest officials attract bear out in open with some food. We could see 8-9 bears at 4 different spots. Other than bears, also spotted several birds. Experience not be missed in Hampi visit.
