It’s a narrow medieval lane that connects two of the old city’s main roads: Via dei Tribunali and Via San Biagio dei Librai. On both sides you’ll see old buildings with arches, balconies, and traditional Neapolitan façades. The atmosphere is always lively, with the street full of both locals and tourists.

Somewhat interesting. The guide wasn’t loud enough at times, some words I didn’t understand and people were talking, also the group was like 50, way too big. The tunnels were fun to go into and the area in general is pretty interesting. The wine cellar at the end was cool but very small. Women at the ticket counter wasn’t sure you if you could get online tickets and when I returned with an online ticket, she scanned it… why she couldn’t just say you could is beyond me, language barrier or just not too interested in your job who knows. Get an online ticket to get in faster, cash only otherwise.

fascinating experience. The guided tour through Napoli Sotterranea gives a completely different view of the city’s history — from ancient aqueducts to World War II shelters. The guide was knowledgeable and made it easy to imagine life underground. The passages are narrow at some points, so good shoes are a must. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see something unique in Naples.

The group size is too big. 57 people in one group is too much. At the entrance it was chaos. We bought our ticket online. It said to bypass the queue, only to be send back at the end of the queue. At the smallest part we had to go back because another group entered at the other side. One woman started to panic and the guide didn't even notice. The upper part was done by another guide. He walked very fast and we lost him somewhere. Also his voice was soft. The group was quiet, but still at the back you couldn't hear what he was saying. It was nice what was shown, but the big group spoiled it somehow.

Ok so I have mixed feelings about this. First of all, when you arrive it's a huge chaos at the entrance. Why don't they put ropes with 2 lines to separate the tours by language and then some passage to let people with online tickets to pass in front of everyone (since it's a SKIP THE LINE ticket!!) Then... There are just too many people in each group. I think there were at least 60 in our group. This creates a huge problem with people pushing to take photos and another problem when the guide is talking and half of these people are talking so you can't hear anything! The tour itself is nice, there's a very very narrow passage where you can't be claustrophobic otherwise it will be a problem. For my surprise, this is a 2 part tour. The first one is the underground itself then they will take you by foot in the streets further to another place which doesn't add much apart from the "surprise" (no spoilers). Another problem: these tour guides are basically formatted robots. They learnt the lines and that's it. I'm sure they know nothing about the underground, in our case our guide was asked several questions to which he answered "I have no idea" to almost all of them. The funniest one was a girl asking how they pumped the water and he answer was "it's physics".....

It was a nice experience, the guide was well prepared, made the tour interesting and answered our questions promptly. I expected the visit to be in only one place, but the remains of the ancient amphitheater were in a bulding close by. We bought our tickets through a provider, not directly at the entrance, but it is ok either way. A little warning: there are many steps to go down, and, after the tour, to climb up.

Interesting tour experience with the main attraction being a few yards under the main street level. Used during major historical operation like WW2 and remnants of ancient civilization was unique. The display case showed figures in German SS patrol outfits to illustrate Italy under German occupation in the 40’s. The guide was ok but clear she didn’t have a lot of public speaking experience. She was hard to understand tho seemed to be doing her best with the crowd. The tight tunnels were interesting though again info was not clear of what things were used for so there was a lot of guessing to be done.

We were not planning to visit this place until the last minute because we had time before departing the train. We bought the ticket online an hour before the stsrting time which is 12pm on a Thursday. Lots of slots. Arrived 10 min before, there were people lining up between English and Italian tour guide. There is no solo entering, only group tour so be on time. This is what it gets interesting, when we head downstairs into the underground, we had to stop at one point. It's like 40m below the ground. All of a sudden I felt ill, like I was out of oxygen and going to faint. I don't know if it's because of the thin air, being claustrophobic or fear of being stuck underground, but I almost quit and went back a few times. I only calm down after few minutes and I tried hard to breathe properly. Was breathing through a nose mint inhaler the entire time. My partner calm me down and was massaging my neck and hand. I was just trying hard not to faint. When it came to the point where we had to go through a narrow passage, I tried the first path and bail out. My body was just not accepting it. So I waited for everybody for like 5 min at the waiting point. If you can go through the narrow passage, you'll be able to see the water pond. After 30 min we were able to go back upstairs. I felt a big relief. Then we moved to an old house that has another underground passage way. 🙂‍↔️ I thought it was going to be a challenging fun interesting experience but I now know that I'll never do a cave or underground adventure. Just not for me. I'm an adrenaline junkie - tried skydiving, bungee, or scuba dive, and never thought I would have fear of being in the underground. Conclusion, feel free to go if you think you can handle it. Out of all the 50 ish group, only 3 (me, 2 old couple) did not go through the narrow passage.

The Veiled Christ sculpture is without a doubt the most impressive. The way the marble looks like a delicate, transparent veil over Jesus is unbelievable. I honestly couldn’t believe it was carved from a single block of marble. It’s one of the most beautiful and emotional pieces of art I’ve ever seen. The other piece that really stood out to me was the one with the marble net (Il Disinganno). The fine detail in the net is just mind blowing. Although the chapel isn’t very big, every part of it is full of intricate art and symbolism. I do wish we could take photos, but I also understand why it’s not allowed, it helps you focus more on the moment. Highly recommend booking in advance, as it can get very crowded. But it’s 100% worth visiting!!

The highlight of my trip is Guiseppe Sanmartino’s Veiled Christ in the Sansevero Chapel Museum in the heart of Napoli’s old city. I have been waiting for this moment since for 2 years when i first learnt about this incredible masterpiece. The thinness, fluidity and transparency of the veil, the expression on the face and body of Christ as he laid in the tomb is remarkable and hard to imagine that the material is marble. Very unforgettable an experience. The staff are helpful and excellent in managing crowd flow. The chapel is small and the experience of entering in is intense and mystical. Too bad no photography of any kind is allowed but there were books to purchase at the end. I wish there were more literature on Guiseppe Sanmartino’s life and history. This great craftsman remains a mystery to me for now.

Another artistic treasure in Naples, so much to see it was overwhelming! The intricate detail is astounding!! Definitely worth a look see!!

So there is no warning online when you buy the expensive tickets that you can not take photos inside. Which is fine, people would take a long time if everyone took photos, and it is a small chapel. However you can not take photos in the store of the postcards either. I find that ridiculous for the price of 12€ entry to this tiny thing. Also typical rude Napolitans employees, but that is expected i guess.

An absolute must-see in Naples. Although the San Severo Chapel is just one single room, it’s one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited. The sculptures and frescoes inside are stunning, with an incredible level of detail and realism. It’s really worth getting the audio guide, as it explains in depth the history and meaning behind each sculpture and fresco. Without it, you miss a lot of context and can’t fully appreciate what you’re seeing. For such a short visit, it’s definitely worth it. The visit takes around 20–30 minutes, and it never feels long or heavy. It’s short, fascinating, and full of beauty. If you’re in Naples, it’s an essential stop — a small gem you shouldn’t miss.

This is not to be missed when in Naples! Some of the most incredible art I have ever seen! Some of the most famous works of art are in this chapel. No photos allowed so you can really just focus on what you are seeing. You can get pictures when you are leaving by scanning a bar code. Highly recommend!

It is a wonderful chapel full of potent history but the "do not take picture" is a very stupid policy as I saw tons of people shooting around and even here I can witness other people posting their pictures. Just get rid of this policy please. Photos are all around the world. I really dont understand why you dont want people to bring home this true neapolitan gem and beauty. And I am speaking as neapolitan myself.

I think it’s one of Italy’s hidden gems. Such a lovely place with marvelous architecture and a beautiful garden. However, I believe it deserves more care and attention—the garden could be even more stunning than it currently is. The entrance ticket to the palace was €12 as of September 2025, with the last entry at 6 PM. After 5 PM, the fee is reduced to €5. The garden has a separate entrance fee of €3 and remains open until 7:30 PM. I highly recommend visiting this palace. It’s truly worth it!

I can't recommend it enough, it's astonishing. If I was to go back I'd visit the palace one day and the gardens another. I spent a whole day from 8:30 am to 4pm and I could have easily spent a few more hours just walking around soaking the beauty of the place, but I was tired and I had to get the bus back.

Grandiose structure (mostly empty) but the royal chambers (Piano nobile) are quite extensive and richly decorated and elegantly furnished. I enjoyed a 90 minute very informative guided tour in Italian (unfortunately with an excessive amount of Bourbon-era nostalgia... and no critical comment on the social costs of such bombastic projects and the sociopolitical effects of spatial distancing of royalty from the common folk in a guilded playground). I found this Reggia more elegant and pretty than the Quirinal and some other palaces in Italy (laden with austere or disproportionate displays of Baroque or mismatched styles or unfinished or unrestored works). Many similar palaces in Germany and Austria are however more elegant and aesthetically pleasing (they have also been restored to a supreme level of splendor and decadence by exceedingly generous government allocations in recent years). What recent administrations have done to restore the Reggia after decades of neglect is surely remarkable. The mixture of contemporary art with the original museum exhibits (after COVID) is not always very convincing: some combinations work fine but in other cases there is no real dialogue between works of art (the contemporary pieces - of differing quality and from a single collection linked to a recent natural disaster - seem put there very jarringly simply to respect the conditions of the donation, i.e. that they reach the widest public possible, and little concern for the dignity and harmony of the rooms' decor). Some works would work better in the empty exhibition spaces of the palace (even with baroque and neoclassical works included for comparison). But then you if you expand the exhibition spaces, you need to keep visitors there the whole day to visit the royal chambers and the rest of the museum. So you would need to attract families with children (with some technology exhibits, children's areas, etc.) and full day visitors (with a food court, performances in the gardens, picknic areas, horse riding...). I hope the site continues to develop into a mature and diversified tourist venue.

Not just a must see, an amazing experience! One of the most beautiful gardens i ve ever been in my life! You should definetely go there. You can skip the palace, its just another palace, but you should get to the garden! We ve made the one way on foot, and we came back with the bus. Its a reaaaaly long distance, so i would suggest you to rent a bicycle. it would be much more pleasant. If you get there at its opening time, you will have the garden for yourself!!!

The Royal Palace of Caserta is truly breathtaking. Built in the 18th century for the Bourbon kings and designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, it was meant to rival Versailles and you can really feel it. The rooms are grand and elegant, the monumental staircase is stunning, and the huge gardens with fountains and long water basins are spectacular. The history behind it, from its royal origins to its UNESCO recognition, makes the visit even more meaningful. Absolutely worth seeing if you’re in Campania!!!

Il Monastero is a unique hotel that offers five star quality surroundings, staff and food. The lush gardens, beautiful views, tranquil and relaxed feeling … it’s a special place you really need to absorb and take in. Multiple nights suggested: Ischia offers plenty for 3-4 days and is better enjoyed without a rush. And Il Monastero offers the perfect stay.

Our stay was nothing short of spectacular. The location is incredible - you’re staying in a unique monument with views that are out of this world (even considering Italian standards). The family owned hotel is very tastefully decorated with art made by several of the family members - perfect blend of history with contemporary touches. The breakfast was another highlight - varied and delicious ingredients. Loved the cafeteria as well that offered varied frames over the bay and sea under the trees. The garden was just incredibly beautiful. Service was outstanding, including the proactive help we got with managing our luggage up and down the hill. One of the most unique hotels I’ve stayed in. Would go back in a heartbeat

​My recent visit to Il Monastero Hotel was a wonderful experience, set against one of the most spectacular backdrops imaginable. From the moment we arrived, the check-in staff made us feel incredibly welcome, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know for our stay. ​Our room, #21, was a particular highlight. It was not only spacious and comfortable but also featured a balcony with truly spectacular views that we couldn't get enough of. The evening atmosphere was lovely as well. We enjoyed drinks and a decent dinner in a beautifully set environment. Dinner was Ok. ​While the stay was wonderful overall, a couple of things could be improved. The breakfast was a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the experience. The coffee, in particular, was quite poor, and it felt a little limiting when the staff only offered "espresso or cappuccino" to guests. I believe with a little more training, the breakfast service could easily match the high standards of the rest of the hotel. Keep in mind that there are few stairs to climb, the lift went out of service during our last night. While we enjoyed the experience of walking up to the hotel, others might find it difficult. ​I highly recommend using the parking lot about a 12-minute walk away. It was a convenient solution for keeping our car overnight. ​Despite these minor points, our stay was truly special and I would absolutely go back one day to experience the unique charm and incredible views that Il Monastero offers.

This experience was truly unique: to be accommodated in such a fabulous castle, with a breathtaking view and a team of staff that are absolutely the kindest possible. Il Monastero is the only place in Ischia which can offer such experience. We are truly grateful for being able to live it just before the season ended! Thank you very much.

The Albergo II Monastery is a magnificent blend of history and hospitality - an old Monastery and caslte lovingly converted into a hotel. The setting is stunning, with breathtaking gardens and panoramic views over the island that are simply unforgettable (especially if you are there on the Feast of St Anna - amazing view on the fireworks). The food is outstanding: organic refined, flavorful, and of an exceptional quality. The staff are warm, attentive and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The design and aesthetics are nice, creating an elegant and serene atmosphere. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay. It is a little sad that the building's original monastic identity has been almost entirely erased - especially in such a historic comple, in a country with deep Catholic roots like Italy. The rooms, while comfortable, could benefit from slight renovations to add more "wow" factor, comfort and a stronger sense of character.

It was such a treat to stay here! A unique experience and outstanding views. Super cool to explore the site, eat at an upscale restaurant, and friendly staff too. They have porters, but still check ahead of time that it's accessible for your needs (stairs).

This is sheer heaven. Staff so helpful and kind. Views amazing and history , well read about it. One needs to be fit as many steps to get there. A lift for part of it. I was using a stick so that slowed me down. Lovely Salvatore made sure our cases were taken from us on arrival and departure. I have left a bit of my heart there and will go back. The French’s

Had a lovely day today. We were very pleasantly surprised. Good sized park, which was well maintained in most areas. Some slight attention to detail around weeding around some rides would improve this slightly but that is me just being picky. Food prices were ok for a theme park. 5 of us ate for just under €70 which would be very difficult to do in a UK theme park and notably drinks were ok too, €3.50 for a coke zero and €2 for water. The main reason for 4 out of 5 was due to a few rides being out of action. We wanted to go on the rapids and were told they would reopen but unfortunately didn't or if they did we missed it. Also the sky viewing platform ride was also shut.

We visited as two adults and really enjoyed the day. The park is very clean and beautifully maintained. There are a couple of really exciting attractions - especially Shock, which will definitely not leave you indifferent. The water rides are also a lot of fun - particularly Le Rapide, the round raft ride that gives you absolutely no chance of staying dry. 😅 A perfect mix of thrills and fun, highly recommended!

I dont know why i seen so many complaints about this place saying it's expensive or staff are rude i experienced the opposite of that. They where all friendly and happy and compared to theme park prices this place was very very cheap no long waits in the lines longest wait was for the horror stuff beside that everything else was like 3mins wait or less 100% would recommend this especially for a family

We really enjoyed this park. They had awesome theming, entertainment and great rides! The park surprised us in any way possible.

I spent the day at MagicLand with friends — we had fun, especially on the roller coasters! The park is nice and clean, but the lines were pretty long and food inside was pricey. Still, it’s a great option for a weekend trip near Rome.

The place itself is great and a lot of fun. It felt safe, and both the restrooms and different areas were clean. However, the pricing is tricky. Online tickets are supposed to be cheaper, but we never received the validation code for registration, so we couldn’t complete the online purchase. We were also charged extra items with the food we ordered, which didn’t feel fair. Additionally, not all staff members spoke English, or not at a sufficient level, which made communication difficult at times.

I had an amazing time at Magic Land! The park is full of fun attractions, and everything is so well-organized. The highlight of my visit was the fantastic show at the theater—absolutely enchanting! The New Year decorations and compositions were stunning and really created a magical holiday atmosphere. This place is perfect for families and anyone looking for unforgettable entertainment. Highly recommend!

⛲️ Absolutely gorgeous gardens and fountains that are gravity powered! We spent a good three hours here just roaming and taking everything in. We took so many photos! The light and views are spectacular. Very serene and peaceful place. Tivoli is very beautiful too. Definitely worth the 30min uber drive from Rome. We bought our tickets online a week before.

I visited last weekend 18th Oct and would recommend coming after October 23rd only because there’s no water running through the famous cascades and pools during this period. Even so, the villa and gardens remain impressive for their architecture, perspectives and atmosphere. If possible, plan your visit between 3 and 6:00 pm, the light is softer, perfect for photos and the crowds are noticeably smaller. Despite the absence of water, the site still offers a fascinating glimpse into Renaissance grandeur and is definitely worth seeing at least once.

Beautiful grounds. I would have given 5 stars but the water was shut off for maintenance or perhaps for the season when we went in October . I looked on line the night before visiting to see if it was posted on the website which it was not. You don’t get to capture the full beauty without the fountains. Beauty to see inside ! I would suggest going when fountains are on!

Fantastic villa and gardens - a peaceful oasis. We could only imagine what it must be like when the 200 fountains are functioning! Our misfortune to visit during a 2 week maintenance window... However, still worth wandering the paths, listening to birdsong and enjoying the gardens.

I am not sure how we found the villa as a destination for our Rome trip. Probably social media video somewhere. But boy we are so happy to spend a day here. We did not spent much in the museum part, but just walking up and down the garden, going to every fountain, taking pictures. Absoltely, breathtakingly beautiful. Must see. In late October when we were visiting, the Sun is setting along the main axis of the fountains, shining and orange glow over the park. Makes it difficult to take some photos, but help is many other way.

Make sure to purchase the audio guide from the ticket office. This villa was a wonderful experience. Make sure to give yourself a couple of hours for the gardens alone. I’m not a huge garden person when visiting estates or villas, but this was stunning and we wished we had more time to explore all the paths and fountains.

Extraordinary luxurious place which is well maintained and combed. Definetely worth to visit. Connections from Rome are good and cheap, traveling time around 1 hour.

This park was really good, despite there being very few rides, with most of them being either broken or in need of a refurb. Costs €5 extra to get into the Nintendo experience, so make sure you book online since my family didn't (somehow). The fact that Mario, Sonic, Harry Potter and Topo Gigio are incorporated into the park is amazing, especially since it attracts both English and Italian speaking tourists to the park. There needs to be more sunbeds and rides as well since there weren't many. I think the Zoomarine in the Algarve is a tad better as it has more space and more rides, and also has rides that are of better quality. I would definitely recommend this! Also, there needs to be more English on the signage, I can't speak or understand that much Italian as I'm an Irish tourist :)

We really liked this waterpark. They offer various shows for families as well as a large selection of pools and joy rides. It has a bit of everything and you deffinetly need a day to be able to enjoy everything. I recommend buying tickets online to skip the queues.

Beautiful place, dolphins are so happy… however… seals need much more space. They seem very depressed and it’s not a good look for this park. They deserve a place where they can waddle, swim freely and relax.. the3x2metre cages they are in are not enough! The other aspects of the park are beautiful, the aquarium, butterfly atrium and rides are incredible and worth a visit. I really loved my time here but felt guilty to support a place where the seals are unhappy.. please respect your seals and make them as happy as the dolphins!

Great experience and lovely rides and shows. The place is really big so make sure you get there early and you have a lot of stamina as there are tons of things to do and see. You have to pay 5 euros for the car park, which we did not see in the prepaid tickets we bought online. Also, there are some awesome bundle packages online. The place is super clean and the kids loved it. The dolphin show is amazing but better still pay for the one on one sessions a bit more expensive but worth the price. Have fun!

terrible restaurant service,waiting more then 1 hour to get lunch, only 2 tills inside and hundreds of people. also till works very slow.also looks very diserted place, half pools dont work and all is dirty. only good thing are the animals but costs extra money.

This place gave us horrible experience. The pool is extremely disgusting. Full of leaves and so much mold around that will make you sick. The food is dirty and there were no places to sit and the staff didn't treat us like there customer at all. I don't reccomens comming here ever as a tourist because it's very toxic.

Was a great site to see while on tour around the Eternal City. They recently cleaned the facade of the building so the stone is now clean and bright. Its usually very crowded for most of the day unless you come early in the morning. The guides were very nice and gave us a lot of cool information about the history of the Colosseum. Definitely a great place to see at least once while visiting Rome.

We had 8:45 tickets and arrived at 8:15. Once it opened at 8:30 the line moved very well. When buying tickets you have to purchase the additional museums or sites at that time you can't add them on, so be aware. We missed out on several areas because you can't add them to your ticket, and can't purchase them at the location. The Colosseum was not what I expected. I expected a big sand center, and it is not that. But it was interesting. The archeological site is spectacular. We spent 4.5 hours in total and if you had the additional sites it would easily be a full day. I ran out of energy at about the time we finished. Our plan is always go to the right, the right, the right, so that you don't go down a path that leads you away from other things. In this case it paid off because there was an area to the right where you follow a faux wood boardwalk and it takes you under a road and all the way to an incredible obelisk. Many of the sites we have been to have paper maps, and yes you can use your phone but a paper map would have been really helpful.

This was cool. As a tourist from outside Italy this was a cool thing to do. We did a tour and our tour guide was excellent, highly recommend. Our tour guide was called Valerio and he knew so much history, for any question you had he had an answer to. Highly recommend doing a tour. This was a neat part of history to see in Italy and very cool to see it in person.

The Roman Colosseum is truly one of the world’s wonders , absolutely beautiful and completely spectacular to see in person. The amount of ancient history that took place there is incredible, and you can really feel it as you walk around. The lines can get pretty long, especially if you’re traveling with a group, but I was traveling solo and was able to slip through pretty quickly. Definitely recommend buying tickets ahead of time if you want to go inside. That said, it’s also really easy (and free!) to explore the outside, which is just as impressive. An unforgettable experience and a must-see when in Rome. #ruins #world wonder

It's exactly what you would expect. Beautiful and historic. We went earlier in the morning. Walked right in before the crowds. Buy your tickets in advance as they do sell out. We did the arena floor tickets and were able to spend over the time inside as I wasn't too busy yet. This ticket also comes with the Palatine Hill area as well which is a huge site of historical buildings and a museum you can walk through. Well worth your time. Make sure you budget a few hours for this walk but it's definitely worth it to see.

Unforgettable — The Heart of Ancient Rome The Colosseum is one of those places that takes your breath away the moment you see it. Standing in front of this massive structure, you can’t help but imagine the gladiators, the roaring crowds, and the unbelievable history held within those stone walls. Incredible place, if you imagine how it is, and how big it is. Gladiators in the past was fighting here to stay alive , and for Caesar and rich people to have fun. It's huge building around 2000 years old build in less than 50 years. Capacity was around 50 000 people , and it was possible to fullfiled it with water , how amazing ! One of the most beautiful things and place what I've ever seen in my life . This place is majestic, phenomenal and unforgettable. Statues and size of the "Fontana di Trevi" is breathtaking and unexpectable. Architecture , all Statues have a lot of small details and finally together is one Masterpiece!! Everybody have to see it minimally once per life ! Amazing , amazing, amazing

The Trevi Fountain absolutely exceeded my expectations. Its sheer size and detail are breathtaking, especially with the sound of rushing water echoing around the square. I joined everyone in tossing a coin for luck, it’s impossible not to. Even with the crowds, the atmosphere feels magical and unmistakably Roman.

Yes, it's beautiful, but unfortunately the chaos surrounding this place makes it much less attractive. There's so many people (like almost everywhere), it's impossible to relax and enjoy this beauty. The experience is more like: quick, let's try to make a picture and leave. While in Rome I went there several times and during several periods of the day and it was always packed. I even check the webcams once at 2am and there were still people there!

Absolutely beautiful, and obviously VERY busy hot-spot for tourists! The only thing that ruins it is rude, entitled influencer/ tourists that block the visit/ view for everyone else, selfishly taking photos and selfies for over 20 minutes. However, this doesn't detract from the stunning monument and it's attraction for Rome! You can queue (average 1-1.5 hours) to get closer to the fountain if you have time.

The fountain is really beautiful. We came in the evening on a rainy day, and luckily there were not that many people. They seemed to allow people to get closer to the fountain in the lower floor every now and then. We didn’t wait for it since the view from the ground floor was already good enough.

A dream come true! We went during the day and returned at night to enjoy one of the most magnificent fountains in Rome! Wonderful family experience while touring Itay! This was one of the highlights we were looking forward to and superseded our expectations!

Visitors recommend tossing a coin to ensure a return to Rome, but suggest visiting very early in the morning or late at night to enjoy the fountain's grandeur with fewer people.

One of the most unique underrated structures in the entire world. Unreinforced concrete dome that is near perfect sphere. No documentary does this place any justice. You must see it in person and experience the grandeur of standing inside and seeing it firsthand. Worth every cent and the time taking in the moment. I am still in awe that I visited it and spent some time inside, I will never forget my trip to Rome because of this amazing structure.

A must visit when in Rome. An architectural masterpiece. Being incredibly well maintained, One is able to see the Pantheon as the Roman’s would have seen it in their time. Pictures don’t do it justice. I would recommend getting their early morning 9am so you beat the crowds. The audio guide (most languages) is available once you are inside. At 10 euro it is fantastic value as it gives a great understanding of all things about the Pantheon. Entry is quite cheap too, you can cover it all in an hour!

Piazza Navona is a truly stunning square and one of the most beautiful spots in Rome. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of life, with artists painting, street musicians playing, and visitors filling the cafes. The centerpiece is the magnificent Fountain of the Four Rivers. It's an absolute masterpiece of sculpture that you can just walk right up to. The other fountains complete the picture-perfect scene. It's the perfect place for a leisurely stroll, to people-watch, or to simply sit on a bench and enjoy. The energy is infectious, making it a must-visit piazza that captures the heart of Rome.

A very nice piazza. It was built over The Stadium of Domitian which was used for athletic competition. There are many nice stores and cafes. The 3 fountains, Fountain of the Moor, Fountain of Neptune and the Fountain of Four Rivers are beautiful. A great area to site see and have lunch or a drink. Well worth a visit if you are in Rome.

A beautiful site that everyone must see. We arrived at 9am and the piazza was really quiet. Take some time to walk between the three fountains and take in the architecture. If you are heading on to some of the churches in Rome but are ill equipped and need a scarf to cover yourself, don’t be tempted to buy from the little shops here. They charge €10 for a small scarf and you can find them for c. €3 in other shops.

My partner, our friends, family member, and I visited this spot in September during our golf cart tour. Since it was refurbished by Pope Innocent X, it has been a gathering spot for people from all over Rome and all walks of life, and it continues to be so to this day. At its center stands Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s magnificent Fountain of the Four Rivers (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi), completed in 1651. This dynamic sculpture represents the four great rivers of the known continents at the time—the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube, and the Río de la Plata—each embodied by a powerful figure surrounding an ancient Egyptian obelisk. Two other fountains adorn the piazza: the Fontana del Moro at the southern end, depicting a Moor wrestling a dolphin, and the Fontana del Nettuno at the northern end, featuring Neptune battling a sea creature. Together, these fountains create a harmonious rhythm across the square, uniting art, mythology, and the musical sound of water. The church of Sant’Agnese in Agone added so much charm to the scene. The best part was no entrance fee, no crowds, just a short line. Once one steps inside, the interior is a feast for the eyes. Rich marble work, ornate gold details, and stunning frescoes create an atmosphere of grandeur and devotion. Whether one's stopping by during the day or in the evening, the space itself feels like stepping into an open-air museum—full of charm and atmosphere.

A very pleasant place. There are many tourists here, but it still feels very spacious. I encourage you to visit the square at different times of day — the light beautifully complements and shapes the atmosphere of this place. You can sit on the benches around the square or by the fountains and simply take it all in. In the afternoon, there are more people selling things illegally. The mornings are definitely calmer…

There early morning before the crowds & it was so peaceful & quiet & allowed you time to soak up the beauty. The fountains are lovely, the buildings so classical. Lots of cafes you enjoy watching the we world go by & the ever growing crowds.

Awesome and powerful!!!! The artworks and architecture leave you feeling inspired and uplifted! This place is so holy. You feel the power of God here. The building itself is an architectural marvel, and the inside is filled with incredible works of art. It’s definitely worth the trip to see it, you will be amazed. If you can handle many stairs, it is definitely worth it to go to the top of the dome. There’s an elevator to take you halfway up, but you’ll have to climb the stairs the rest of the way and it’s not an easy climb. However, the view from the top is breathtaking and you can see the entire Vatican City and Rome. Be prepared for large crowds of tourists everywhere inside and outside! I went on a weekday during off-season and it was still packed. Loved all the artwork of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! All glory to God! Amen!

Another mind blowing historical architectural marvel! Entered via an entrance from underneath after visiting the Necropolis (did a tour, absolutely amazeballs... different review). Visited St Peter's Tomb underground (controversial but not for a google map debate ;)... thought provoking though!). Cool that I could walk 'upstairs' and see the High Alter that is situated directly above and how everything was built around the tomb after seeing the different levels below. Historically and religiously significant, beautiful, opulent. There's lots of people as expected, just like you see on YouTube lol. But its worth it, and... you're in Rome. There's lots of people. The bascillica/s were basically built to keep the remains of St Peter safe. The first bascillica was built in the 4th century and the current bascillica started in 1506 and took just over a century to build. In this timeframe 20 popes oversaw its development keeping the tomb protected. Different artistic/architectural influences over time including Michelangelo's great hand which gives you some idea of the vibe there.

Amazing basilica. Definitely worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. Amazing arhitecture, artwork, sculptures, paintings. Incredible view from the top of the dome, if you visit the basilica be sure to not miss out if you are not afraid of higts, and you are not claustrophobic because the way up tends to take you through narrow stair ways. It's an amazing place, one of a kind in the world at this magnitude. Buy tickets in advance.

The visit to Saint Peter's Basilica was a must see, especially during special religious days or events. The wait line to get in was long, but it moved fairly quickly. Security was easy to get through. Once in the Basilica you will be struck with beautiful and awe at the size, splendor, and beauty of the space. Every wall is decorated. The dome is absolutely beautiful. Even though there were many people inside there was a dedicated space for personal prayer near the front of the alter. There is so much detail and history within the walls of Saint Peter's and the Vatican. I would most definitely recommend anyone to visit Vatican City and step into the Basilica.

Wow! Wow! What a magnificent place… from the beautiful architecture outside.. to the inside … and the master piece by Michelangelo is absolutely amazing! The line was long and once you entered, it is jam with people .. seems like every one from Europe is here… I have been here 3x as a young man and 30 years later, I am even more in love with this place! Come!

So beautiful!! Unfortunately we came a bit late, at 15:30, 30 minutes before the falls are shut down for the day. It’s nice to stroll through the park regardless. But the park was closed entirely by 17:00, so I would advise to plan the visit time better than we did.

It is just beautiful,. We set parking for 1.5h , but we sure did needed more. Got to the first 3 spots there, all the way down. Luckily we packed some snacks and fruits 😋 bc there is a lovely view point right in front of the waterfall.

Absolutely breathtaking and worth the trip. There are paths that make it fairly easy to walk up to view the various falls (you will get wet!). The temperature drops ten degrees when you reach the parking lot, which is an incredible treat in summer. Be sure to stay to see the falls turn off at 1pm or back on again at 3. Plenty of parking. The bus terminal is a little tricky to find in Terni. It’s not the main Terni station but is around the corner to the left after you walk out the front entrance of the station. There’s a dedicated shuttle just for the falls, but pay attention to times, or you’ll end up needing a taxi to get back to Terni (speaking from experience!).

The tallest artificial watetfall in the world! A beautiful, unconventional place – created by human intervention, yet so natural. It's worth devoting more time to exploring and hiking the entire trail, rather than just admiring the views from the upper terrace.

We really enjoyed our visit. Amazing sculpture work. To see the handmade works and chisel marks. The restaurant was nice, we got the steak. Very nice and very reasonable prices. There is also a cafe. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely loved every inch of this place, and well worth the admission price. A wonderful place to bring kids, and the restaurant served us the most beautiful Fillet Steak we have had in a long time. Definitely worth a trip.

Absolutely incredible! We ditched seeing Vatican City after a long road trip across Italy, found the poster on the side of the highway and decided to drop in. Tons of parking including with a camper, kind staff, clean ground incl washroom. Soo soo soo many unique neat sculptures. There's some wheelchair ramps to washrooms but not to the sites that we could find.

I really liked this exhibition, the statues were huge and mesmerizing! The tilted building was also fun! The price (13€) was a bit overpriced for the size of the park, but still I would recommend it!

Such a magical place. Its surrealist stone sculpture garden. We were there in Jan but would have been great to be in warmer weather since its located in hilly landscape with streams and grass area. We spent about 1 hr walk around. Its easy terrain for slow walk but different elevation makes the park interesting. Love the face entryway, elephant sculpture and leaning building. Will definitely watch the movie where the entire movie scene was shoot in this park.

My husband and I brought our 4 kids on a Sunday. It was great, really beautiful and interesting, and there is a picnic area as well as a playground, both are excellent features, however, it is a small park and costs a family of 6 (with 4 children aged 13 and younger) 58 euros. There is no family rate. Furthermore, according to the website this will increase in January 2026. Would I recommend, yes. Do I think it was overpriced, yes, if you just walk through and dont spend time there. However, if you spend the entire day there it seems a better price :) also no refunds for bad weather.

Small restored quirky garden of bizarre statues commissioned by a middle ages count who was a little off his rocker. Worth a side trip but a little costly.

So special to experience these beautiful churches - up and down! We got to enjoy an English mass at 9am on Sunday. Touring with Rick Steeves podcast in our ear was great (also the town walk is so good). Loved the museum in the back. The highlight of course was the crypt, to spend some time in the presence of St Francis. Well- we know his presence is with us in Christ, but so cool to see his tomb. The Giotto frescoes are amazing and the ceilings- wow, that blue- I love it.

Lovely Medieval town - Assisi - famous for St Francis' Basilica, which we visited. Also had a lovely cappuccino but didn't stay for lunch. Escalators available to get you into the higher parts of town from all the car parks so no worries for older and less mobile visitors. A must-see if in Umbria

Today's highlight. You don't want to miss this place when in Assisi. Prepare for a walk uphill and downhill. Travel light but bring some coins or bills for the offering and candles. There's plenty of good restaurants and giftshop in the area. Walking distance to visit the tombs of St. Clare and Saint Carlo Acutis.🙏🙏🙏

What an amazing experience to be able to come on a pilgrimage here. The church is very beautiful and full of meaning. There is a tomb of St. Francis of Assisi under this church. There is also a museum, and a souvenir shop. Don’t forget when you enter, there is a prayer paper that we can take and write, so that later we can bring it to the tomb area of St. Francis, and we give to the brothers here to pray. Then don’t forget after shopping at the souvenir shop, bring it to the blessing section near the exit.

We visited here as part of a tour group, it has amazing art work throughout, its just a shame you can not take photos of your visit. It is a very large complex and will stun you by its size, it gets busy and has some stairways that are narrow.

Another beautiful and amazing church in Italy, the Papal Basilica and Sacred Convent of Saint Francis in Assisi. We can visit the tomb, the mortal remaining of St Francis of Assisi, which was preserved since 1230. Also, this church is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. there are two distinct churches: the Upper and Lower Basilicas. Visitors can explore intricate chapels adorned with remarkable artwork while learning about the rich history through audio guides.

A beautiful building with breathtaking murals inside. Photos are not permitted inside but it is well worth visiting. The murals are floor to ceiling and it's also a pleasant place to spend an hour out of the heat just admiring the works. ⛪

​The Orvieto Cathedral is truly impressive. Its location on top of the hill structure naturally provides it with a well-protected position. The most striking feature is the exterior, where the gold-painted facade beautifully catches the sunset light. Inside, the sculptures and the overall aesthetic of the interior make for a very pleasant and rewarding visit.

As the most famous attraction in the city, this church is magnificent and rich in historical value. Legend has it that Michelangelo visited it in his youth to draw inspiration, which shows how profound its artistic value is. The church itself is not as magnificent as other churches in Rome, but the sculptures here convey the people's worship and longing for the church at that time. If you have enough time, I recommend purchasing a ticket to visit the underground city. Unfortunately, we arrived early this time and the guided tour had not yet started. I believe I will definitely visit the underground city next time I visit!

It's a massive Cathedral. The experience is amazing. It is as much a gallery of art as a place of worship. So as a mark of respect don't use camera inside the Cathedral. For tourists, take a train from Rome, or Florence to Orvieto. Then the Funicular to the top of the hill. There's a small fort and a underground place also for visitors. Local food is very good and reasonably priced

The Duomo in Orvieto is one of the most beautiful churches I’ve visited in Italy. The outside is stunning — the front is full of detailed mosaics, sculptures, and gold decorations that shine in the sunlight. The walls are made of black and white stone in stripes, which makes it look very unique compared to other cathedrals. Inside, the cathedral is peaceful and full of history. The most impressive part is the Chapel of San Brizio, where you can see amazing frescoes by Luca Signorelli. These paintings show scenes from the Last Judgment and the Apocalypse, and the emotion and detail in the faces are incredible. It’s hard to believe they were painted over 500 years ago. Another highlight is the crypt, which many visitors miss. It’s small but very interesting, with ancient frescoes, old tombs, and Christian symbols. It feels like a hidden part of the cathedral that connects you to a much older time. Overall, the Duomo is not just beautiful — it also tells many stories through its art and structure. If you’re in Orvieto, don’t miss it. It’s a perfect mix of architecture, art, and history in one place.

Stunning architecture! Italy is home to many exceptional cathedrals, but this one truly stands out as one of the most remarkable in all of Europe. Entry is only €6.50, and remember to cover your shoulders and legs to be allowed inside. The grandeur and beauty are absolutely breathtaking, you’ll be amazed.

This is a stunning 1500 church in the Florence style using the black and white stones to create the iconic stripes. The fresco paintings inside are well worth a look. They depict the Last Judgment, featuring vivid scenes of the Resurrection of the Flesh, the Elect in Paradise, and the Damned in Hell.Buy the entry tickets opposite.

Stunning! Difficult to rate a place of worship, but well worth a visit. Not very busy and the chapels are almost on par with the Vatican Museum in Rome a real gem

The water is very cold. Tuscany has some of the absolute best hot springs I’ve been to, but I can tell you, regrettably, that these aren’t one of them. I found the general cleanliness of the pools to be quite lacking, and the water temperature is the lowest of the 10+ hot springs I’ve been to in Tuscany. This is a real shame because this place could be much better. It’s got the potential to be n1, but has a long way to get there. Without doing much research, the owners should simply see what the competition has to offer to improve Terme di Saturnia. Some general things the staff should provide: - indication that there are only outdoor pools - soap, shampoo and conditioner should be provided in the shower rooms - towels for showering (they’ll give you one for the sun loungers, a robe for walking outside, but what are customers supposed to use to shower? you can’t ask people to buy 3 separate towels). - food selection: very poor, almost non existent vegetarian and gluten free options at the café near the pools - tea, water or infusions should be provided for free (see competitors) Only positive is the price (€14 if you are a resident is rather competitive). But as they say… you get what you pay.

We visited the day spa in mid April. We were so much looking forward to it but got so disappointed. The whole facility is cold. The thermal pool is not warm enough when it’s 15 outside, the sauna is only 50C and the indoor space is cold. The food in the bistro must be the opposite of Tuscan gourmet, it was actually disgusting, like a bad school cantine, over cooked pasta and no taste. And you had to eat in your wet bathrobe in the cold. The place is very worn down and mold in the showers. In the men’s shower the light wasn’t working, it was dark and slippery, almost like a scene from a scary movie. The owners should visit the blue lagoon on Iceland, Vabali in Germany or Yasuragi in Stockholm to learn what a spa should be. Go to the free outdoor one instead.

They lie to people about what their access covers. I only wanted to see the cascate di Saturnia but they claimed their admission covered access to this. 26€ wasted, time wasted. Then they take zero accountability for it. Claim they will refund me but don't. Their so called director Maria Vittoria is an unethical liar

My husband and I were disappointed with our experience here. The website is a false representation & shows it to be upmarket and much nicer but in reality the pools didn’t feel well maintained & some were very dirty. Way over priced for the experience. We were in the sauna & were told to leave due to a “ritual” that you had to pay to attend. Why is this not included in the high price? Very strange. The free public baths 5 minutes away are much nicer!! For some reason the photo of the free ones are used here and it’s incorrect.

We have booked the entrance with sunbeds online and upon arrival the staff told us they don’t have the availability for sunbeds. Very disappointing. The bistrot is just a bar with only piadine and sandwiches to eat (dry and poor), the Greek yogurt was good though. The white dress code is not that obvious, because it’s seems more like a suggestion. If you want the people to wear only the WHITE outfit here — include it in the price and there will be no questions asked. Or make a warning on the website that is visible, I don’t have to search the whole website to find this rule. The whole atmosphere in the place was rude and angry. I’ve expected a nice and relaxed day, I got angry people and no sunbeds🔥👍🏼 To be fare I must say that we were offered a free cup of mud (face mask). Also it’s confusing the pictures on the website. It seems there are the natural pools, but it’s actually another location. It was not necessary to come here at all. The pools that are advertised everywhere are free of charge and are located nearby. The place is understaffed and the queue in bistrot was endless.

It was the worst experience ever. We left the place as soon as we entered. All old stuff. Small spaces very old and worn out towels, small and limited showers which weren’t clean with just a soap! There were worms also in the water! Also the staff were rude. We traveled 2 hours to get there but it was terrible. Never again!

### WARNING ### Today I arrived at 10:30 for a day pass to the pools. Before driving 120kms I looked up the tariffs for entrance and rental of towels and gown as well as 2 sunbeds. The advertised price in the latest pdf. Says midweek €29 entrance. I was charged €39, when I questioned this I was told that they have decided that till the 4th of May every day is considered weekend. This is not posted either on the website or on the premises that I have seen. As I had traveled so far I decided to enter anyway. But I find this appauling. I have stayed at the hotel previously but this has really put me off as it is clearly untoward.

Piazza del Campo is one of the most stunning and unique squares in all of Italy truly the heart and soul of Siena. The moment you step into the piazza, you’re surrounded by incredible medieval architecture, warm terracotta colors, and a sense of history that feels alive in every corner. The square’s distinctive shell shape makes it unlike any other in the world, and it’s beautifully designed to draw your eyes toward the majestic Palazzo Pubblico and its famous Torre del Mangia. It’s a wonderful place to sit, relax, and soak in the authentic Tuscan atmosphere. A visit to Siena isn't complete without seeing Piazza del Campo. This enormous piazza sits at the center of the town and is lined with fantastic bars and restaurants. It's common to see people relaxing in the square, enjoying a moment to read or reflect. We grabbed some happy hour drinks and spent our time watching the mix of tourists and locals pass through.

What a place, this must be one of the best original urban squares ever. A photo taken a 100 years ago would probably look very much the same. Siena is such a beautiful town, if you are in Tuscany go and see for yourself. Love it.

We had a great day in Siena; you need a few hours walking through the alleys to see how beautiful the city is. Weekdays are definitely quieter than weekends. If you plan to visit Siena, try to do it between Monday and Thursday.

A very visually and spatially stunning place to visit. The color of the buildings around the piazza and the floor really set the scene of the place. It was rich and strong. A bit crowded with a lot of people sitting around and some people would sell you stuffs. Not the safest place you can sit back and relax. It was fairly safe and lovely place to visit.

Allow at least a couple of hours to take it all in - you won’t regret it.

A splendid cathedral, richly decorated inside. We hadn't bought tickets online, but lined up outside to buy tickets. The view of the cathedral from the square outside is fantastic. But what set it apart for us was the inside. The floors are covered in inlaid marble (I believe some of it is usually covered, but it wasn't when we were there), and there are many other fantastic pieces of art. Don't miss the small library to the side, also fantastic. Afterwards we spent some time in the gift shop - it is pretty good.

A beautiful cathedral with beautiful artwork. It was reasonably old and had a bit of history to it as well. Tickets to see the cathedral was roughly 5 euros, but even the most expensive ticket to the museum, cathedral, and baptistry was the price of admission of a church in Florence, and was definitely reasonably priced. The biggest thing is that if you come from the town square, you will see the baptistry first, which is NOT where the ticket office or the cathedral is, and you need to climb either the stairs or get to the cathedral's square. Overall, was definitely worth seeing and was worth the day trip I took from Florence to see it.

A fabulous experience! Make sure though, that if you’re booking tickets in advance you are doing it for the one on SIENA, not FIRENZE. They look similar, but are in fact different. We got to go into the cathedral, museum (with the panoramic view), crypt, and baptistery. All very beautiful.

You look at this cathedral and the details of its construction and you wonder, how did they do this 800 years ago? (the cathedral was built in 1215). You definitely have to visit this cathedral. The entrance fee is €8 per person, but it's well worth it. The interior of this cathedral is something unimaginable.

Really just to say that I agree with the great majority of reviewers: Siena Cathedral is absolutely worth visiting. It looks great from the outside, perched on its hill, but the interior is even more impressive, with black and white stripes throughout. The ticket queue was quite long, so if you know ahead of time when you will be going it would make sense to book ahead.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at San Galgano Abbey, and it was absolutely magical. The atmosphere of the roofless abbey, with its dramatic architecture and open sky, creates an unforgettable setting for a wedding ceremony. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a breathtaking venue in Tuscany.

The entrance fee feels steep for a ruin with very little information provided… but it’s still 100% worth the visit! ⛪✨ Standing inside this roofless church, in the middle of nowhere, is an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is truly unique. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, and the history of the site is absolutely fascinating 🌿📜 Take your time to explore, soak it all in, and maybe enjoy a picnic in the shade of the centuries-old walls of this mysterious and hauntingly beautiful place 🧺🧱

Open air 13th Century Abbey just outside of Siena. If this is something you’re into and enjoy – very much worth a visit. Looks spectacular from the outside and magical from the inside. Certainly unique. If you are not into architecture, historical buildings or church history, this is probably not for you. There is little explanation of the place once you’re there, so you need to ideally already be a fan or interested. Also visit the Chapel on the hill whilst you're in the area

There was an art exhibit when we were there which were really great to take photos. We had leave early because of a funeral.

Speechless spiritual place, knowing this place from Andrei Tarkovsky’s ‘Nostalgia’, as a metaphor of the protagonist’s memory and religious experience. No photos or documentaries can compare to being here personally, even if it might be an arduous trip for visitors without a car…

Historic place. Impressive to see and understand. When in the area take time visit and enjoy lunch at the nearby bar.

Magical. A stunning, free location where you are as high as the Duomo, and can see across the city with a vista that would rival any of the towers in the centre. Moreover, at sunset, it provides one of the best view of the bridges of Florence, and has a playful vibe. It feels safe, and the panoramic spot is not the only part to enjoy. There are shuttles to take you up there, but the walk up is not too challenging if you are see to walking up stairs a bit. Thing is to take your time. It is exposed, so in the height of summer would be a lot. But Spring and Autumn is perfect, and a little less bothered by the hawkers of jewellery and handbags who constantly appear. You might want to bring some food and water up, though there is a nearby eatery. If you feel adventurous you can head further uphill to the Abbazia San Miniato for views higher up, but further away. For me, I find the Piazza Michelangelo is quite enough for the best views, higher isn’t always better. I tried this view during midday, and sunset, but wasn’t here at night, though it felt safe enough I’d expect it would be fine, but check other reviews here. There is a pretty route up from the Porta San Niccolo, approached from the Piazzetta di San Miniato. This Piazza was one of THE highlights of my trip to Florence, I could have spent hours up here.

A must do when in Firenze. The ideal would be passing through Ponte Vecchio and walking down the river until you find the stairs with all the fountains. The view from the Piazzale is really amazing, lots of people though. From here you can have a wide view of the city and also from some amazing gardens. Unfortunately we had torrential rain as soon as we arrived there but it was well worth the visit.

It's a decent hike up the hill that's worth the effort. You'll be rewarded by a great view of Florence and if you're lucky, a sunset over Florence is a majestic view after all. However, there are just too many tourists at the peak that might diminish your experience overall.

Piazzale Michelangelo is hands down one of the best places in Florence to catch the sunset. The panoramic view of the city is absolutely breathtaking — you can see the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the entire skyline bathed in golden light. It’s one of those moments that make you fall in love with Florence all over again. Be sure to arrive a little early — the place fills up quickly, especially around sunset. I took the bus up and was lucky to get on; several others had to wait because it was already packed. If you enjoy walking, you can also hike up from the river for a great workout and an even better reward at the top! The atmosphere is fantastic — people chatting, musicians playing, couples dancing, and everyone just soaking in the magic of the view. It’s lively yet peaceful at the same time. An unforgettable experience and one of the must-see spots in Florence. I’d come back in a heartbeat to watch the sun set over that beautiful city again.

Stunning place to see the whole city view. During the night lights, city shines even more. You have road climbing and stairs climbing at the same time. They also have some bars, restaurants and gift shops on the top. The place, worth to see if you in Florence.

You have to see the city from this view, it’s fantastic. We were there on a Sunday in November and although there was a decent sized crowd, it wasn’t overwhelming. I can imagine in the summer months this place is crawling with people especially at sunset.

Beautiful experience! If you’re lucky to get a sunny day, all of Florence turns orange with beautiful lighting at sunset. You can see the entire city from up here. There are a lot of people, but the place is big enough to find your own spot. There are also food trucks and places to eat and drink if you’re looking for that kind of experience.

We didn't really see much of the area. We stayed overnight at a hotel inside the walls and ate at Caffetteria Gelateria dell'Olmo. The restaurant was not good. Our hotel, Hotel Leon Bianco, was very nice and had a wonderful breakfast. We had a heck of a time navigating the streets.

San Gimignano is the reason we came back to Tuscany after visiting it last yearfor a few hours, while driving through Tuscany. Beautiful walled medieval town, that was originally restored in 1800s, and probably the biggest attraction in Tuscany. The towers were a sign of wealth, and the taller the tower, the wealthier the family that owned them. They were originally built as protection against marauding neighboring townspeople, street scuffs, etc. these towers were connected to the residences of the owners. You can climb the tallest tower in town, for 7 Euros.

San Gimignano is a true gem of Tuscany and a must-visit destination for every traveler. This picturesque town is famous for its well-preserved medieval towers that create an iconic skyline. Walking through its stone streets feels like stepping back in time. History comes alive at every corner, and the atmosphere is utterly enchanting. A highlight is the Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta, the town’s cathedral adorned with stunning frescoes by prominent artists – a true architectural treasure. San Gimignano is a small medieval hills town in Tuscany, encircled by 13th-century walls and full of beauty and life. Medieval festivals are happening from time to time and, if you're lucky to be here during such an event, you'll feel the history and understand Italian culture and life better. Like a reduced-scale Sienna, San Gimignano is one of my favorites luttle old towns in Italy.

Love this town, love walking amongst the buildings. The old part of the town is just amazing, wonderful restaurants.

One of my favorite places to visit! Walking the streets felt like going back in time! The architecture is unbelievable. The shops are quaint and full of authentic treats. The cobblestone streets lead to amazing sites and the views are spectacular. Stop for an ice cream, a meal or a souvenir. Make it a point to stop on your visit to Italy, it’s worth the trip.

It was magnificent. As someone who isn't an art affectionado, it was a bit overwhelming in some ways. Take a walk through it at your pace, and don't worry about missing anything. By the time you are done with this and the other art museums (like the Gallery Accademia) you will be kinda art-ed out and it will blue together. Absolutely worth going to though overall. In my opinion, the Vasari Corridor is cool, but probably not worth it.

Very nice gallery, on par with other big museums and art galleries of the world (Louvre and co.). I highly recommend reserving a slot online otherwise the waiting times are very long. Botticelli, da Vinci....just go and see. You certainly will not regret it. And by the way, the best thing is that children and teens uo to 18 years of age have free entry!!! That's a great way to encourage families to make the kids aquainted with high end artistry 👍

Amazing art gallery and museum - Rembrandt, Michaelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio and many more. You could easily spend a day or more in here - if you're on a shorter time line like I was, check out the maps and decide which bits over the two floors you want to focus on. Also lots of benches to sit down on and get off your feet for a moment which is great.

Good one! Great staff and amazing art collection. Some tips: - Download official app for audio commentary about the exhibits. It worth few bucks to unlock all descriptions but it worth it. - Highly recommend free Rick Steves audio guide for Uffizi Gallery. Download his app for your device and get a great tour for free! - Cafe is overrated. High prices with poor food selection. The view is blocked by plants. Try to grab a bite before visiting the gallery. - The staff is kind of strict regarding name on the ticket. Make sure that you have your ID or photo of your ID with you. Make sure that your name is on the ticket. - Make sure that you enter within an hour of your ticket time. They are pretty strict about it. - Everyone complained that it's crowded. Bit we visited on the week day in the middle of November and had no problems with crowds. - Buying ticket on the day of your visit is cheaper than in advance. - Views from the windows are amazing. Make sure to check them out. - Didn't visit Vosario Corridor as it's too expensive for a corridor with white walls.

Superb experience at the Uffizi Gallery. The rooms are filled with high-quality paintings and sculptures—Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo—masterpieces everywhere. It’s very popular and can be crowded because so many people come, but it’s well organized and absolutely worth it. I easily spent 2–3 hours and could have stayed longer. A must-do in Florence; book ahead if you can. There is a lovely cafeteria at the end on floor two which is also a must visit

This museum is a must see in Firenze. I booked a tour with a guide and was so happy I did. We got through security quickly and were able to see all the most.famous pieces with a rare insight into their origin and their place in history. I plan on going back again since there is so much to see. Definitely go. You will do glad you did.

Museum is huge and I advice visitors to go as early as they can to avoid the crowd. The Gallery was built in the 16th century and designed by Giorgio Vasari. It is famous worldwide for its sculptures and paintings. Collection is huge and includes some of the famous works from Botticelli, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Piero della Francesca, Giotto and many other. It requires approximately 3-4 hours to see most of things and to enjoy some of the masterpieces inside.

It was such a great experience visiting the Accademia di Firenze! The sculptures and paintings are absolutely wonderful, and the place is quite large - you’ll need plenty of time to explore. I bought a skip-the-line ticket in advance, so I didn’t have to wait at all and could enter right away. Totally worth it! Otherwise, you’ll have to queue for a long time.

The Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence is one of the most inspiring places to experience the essence of the Renaissance. Though smaller than the Uffizi, it holds one of the greatest treasures of human creativity — Michelangelo’s David. Seeing it in person is overwhelming: carved from a single block of marble between 1501 and 1504, the 5.17-meter figure stands tall and alive, every muscle and vein rendered with breathtaking precision. The sculpture captures both physical perfection and the inner courage of Florence’s republican spirit, embodying the Renaissance belief in human potential. Beyond David, the gallery offers an intimate journey through Florentine art from the 14th to 16th centuries. Booking a skip-the-line ticket is recommended to avoid crowds. Though compact, the Accademia’s focused layout allows visitors to truly appreciate the masterpieces without distraction. Standing before David is not just an art encounter — it’s an emotional connection to the genius and ideals that defined an entire era.

The David and the prisoners is a must see. The corridor they are within? Magnificent. I highly highly recommend making sure you go through it in the direction that has you entering the prisoner's/David's room/corridor from the far end though. If you go through the music section first, which is quite good, you will enter halfway through the prisoners, and some of the effect will be lost. Overall my favorite Galleria we went to!

The visit doesn’t take long — about an hour or so — but it’s one of those experiences that stays with you. The Accademia is more than just a museum; it’s a quiet, reverent space that reminds you why Florence is called the cradle of the Renaissance. Don’t miss it — David alone is worth the trip.

Make sure you pre book to avoid queues. I can't imagine what they are like in peak period as we went early evening in November and it was still very busy. However, the exhibits were amazing and obviously the main attraction being Michaelangelos David!!

One of the best experiences visiting a gallery in life. I recommend buying tickets online before your arrival to ensure that you don't have to wait in line. This is a "must-visit place" in Florence.

The Florence Duomo is more than just a building; it is an architectural symbol of the entire Italian Renaissance, dominating the city and the skyline. What immediately strikes you is the opulence and intricacy of its decoration. The façade, clad in colored marble (white from Carrara, green from Prato, and pink from Maremma), is a stunning sight. Nearby stands Giotto's majestic Campanile and the ancient Baptistery of San Giovanni, decorated with a black-and-white geometric pattern on the outside. Brunelleschi's dome itself is an engineering marvel of the era, visible from virtually anywhere in the city. Climb beneath it to admire the stunning fresco cycle "The Last Judgment." The frescoes are striking in their scale and detail. They depict Christ in glory, the Virgin Mary, and detailed scenes of the saved and condemned. The interior of the main nave has majestic but more restrained proportions than its exterior. Note the unusual details, such as the 24-hour clock (the so-called Hora Italica) by Paolo Uccello above the entrance. The nave also features monumental equestrian frescoes, including an image of the condottiere John Hawkwood, and marble tombstones. The Duomo complex is the pinnacle of Florentine art and architecture. The exterior of the façade and Campanile is a triumph of color and decoration, while the interior, especially the monumental frescoes of the dome, makes one feel like a tiny speck of dust in the midst of history and art. But be aware that you'll have to wait in line for 20 minutes to an hour to get inside.

Even just walking around the piazza, the grandeur of the Duomo dominates the skyline and gives a real sense of Florence’s history and culture. If you’re visiting Florence, don’t miss climbing the dome — it’s a bit of a workout, but totally worth it. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore isn’t just a landmark; it’s an unforgettable experience that captures the spirit and beauty of the city.

This one is hard... I can't give it 5 stars. First of all the Cathedral is GORGEOUS from the outside, way too many people for the free entry. We had a Brunelleschi Pass and to be able to enter the cathedral and visit the Santa Reparata, we waited almost one hour outside, raining! The Dome was amazing to climb (again lots of people) but dear lord, the church inside is so anti climatic. I could not believe my eyes! The Batistero was a complete disaster. It's being renovated so you enter to look up and see some replica of the ceiling on some tissue... Honesyit would be better if they closed that place until it's done. The views from the Dome are just spectacular. The outside marble work is amazing. 1 star less for the overly crowded experience and the "disappointing interior"

Climbed the Dome and the Bell Tower. An absolutely incredible experience. You get to see the Dome interior fresco up close. Up at the top, you get the whole view of Florence which is stunning and breathtaking. Highly recommend anyone who are physically fit to do the climb and remember to buy tickets in advance as tickets will be sold out for the day.

Florence Cathedral, Florence, Italy. It is situated in the Piazza del Duomo in the heart of Florence's historic center. It's iconic dome, was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, took 16 years to build and happens to be the largest masonry dome in the world. It commenced in 1296 in a Gothic Style and was completed by 1436. It's exterior is faced with marble panels featuring an elaborate 19th Cent. Gothic revival facade. An extremely fascinating and Awesome structure, which couldn't be clicked in just a few shots.

I attended Sunday Mass at the Duomo in Firenze this morning, Santa Maria del Fiore, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Construction began in 1296 and the church was not consecrated until 1436, 140 years later! It is of the largest cathedrals in the world. Brunelleschi's Dome is still the largest brick dome ever constructed. It was a groundbreaking undertaking of engineering in its time.

Humongous cathedrals and very iconic. Could not go in but I would recommend doing a ticketing system where you can buy to go in because although it’s free, the queue almost circles the entire cathedral. Very pretty architecture and detailed, similar to the one in Milan.

Very unique place of the walled city of Lucca. Its almost whole round walkable on the top of the walls or street inside the walls. Plenty of trees, walkways are suitable for jogging and fitness exercises and walking of the locals. very calm green place. From the walls you can see the old city and also outside, small water channels under the wall. All around are about 11 bastions and couple of gates to the city. The wall is 4 km long and is among the best preserved Renaissance fortifications in Europe, and the second largest intact example of a fully walled Renaissance city after Nicosia on Cyprus.

A short walk...even with your roller bag...from the train station to the walls of Lucca. I always get a smile when the gate comes into view. The walled city of Lucca still holds plenty of lore with its many restaurants and merchants. This trip we stayed at the Grand Universe right in the center of Lucca so we could be immersed in the city culture and people.

We used the ramp at Porta di San Pietro to take a one-hour stroll anticlockwise along the wall. The views of the old city on one side and of the Lucca hills and Apuan Alps on the other are charming and inspiring. Due to lack of time we were not able to walk the entire length (4.4 km) of the wall, but the segment we did, was organized as a usual public park. The park would benefit of informative panels that could provide visitors with historical context and details on the surrounding area.

Fun way to visit the city. You can walk, stroll, bike, we rent a 6 person bike. 1-2h walking.

My favourite part of our visit to Lucca was the Mura di Lucca. An absolutely brilliant use of the city wall by having a multipurpose recreational trail on top of the wall! Paved for walking and wheeling, the many ramps give ready access for users. The bulwarks of the wall have parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Several museums and the Botanical gardens are accessed from the trail. The Mura also has several gates as well as pedestrian tunnels. Stunning views of the hills surrounding Lucca. Worth a saunter!

Amazing and beautiful scenery. You can either walk around on the walls or rent a bicycle for faster movement. The view from the walls is truly beautiful.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the most iconic and fascinating landmarks in the world a true symbol of Italy’s charm and history. Seeing it in person is an incredible experience; its famous tilt is even more striking and impressive than photos can capture. The weather was warm and sunny, perfect for walking around the Piazza dei Miracoli and taking photos without feeling rushed. Climbing the tower was an unforgettable experience. The marble steps are worn and slanted from centuries of use, and as you ascend, you can actually feel the lean — it’s both thrilling and slightly dizzying! The view from the top is absolutely worth it, offering panoramic views of Pisa and the surrounding Tuscan landscape. The area can be busy with tourists, but if you go early in the morning or later in the afternoon, it’s much quieter. The cathedral and baptistery nearby are also stunning and definitely worth exploring. Overall: A must-see once in your lifetime. Before I went to visit, I thought it would be overrated, old and uninteresting, but when I got there, I was completely wowed! The tower and surrounding buildings have been maintained in such a pristine way that they look like they were built last week. For a building that is over 850 years old, it sure has aged well. The scale and lean of the tower is unbelievable and cannot be felt from pictures. This is a must visit when you are in Italy. It is truly a majestic sight.

Iconic- such an amazing view. I loved this place but so crowded. I would recommend visiting the museum next to the tower of Pisa to get an amazing view with minimal people spoiling your photos. Also there is a restaurant in this museum and you get a stunning view. Recommend climbing the tower of Pisa that was amazing make sure you are willing to climb as can be tiring. Trainers recommended for the climb.

Had a lovely time here. The tower itself has a beautiful view when you're at the top. The steps are slippery tho so be careful aspecially when walking back down. The cathedral is gorgeous also on the inside. We bought tickets that included entree to all buildings and museums and also walked the walls of pisa all the way (which was quite long). Definitely recommend visiting and also going inside.
