We love swedish industrial heritage museums. Here is one of these. Sadly there is hardly any information in english. There is a childcare in the same house which can be annoying. We loved the old smithy and the video about the old smithymaster.

What a beautiful national park! We were just passing through and decided to make a stop at Östra Rockne. From there, we took the trail to Lake Svartgölen and back. The hike took less than an hour, but it was absolutely worth it. Stunning nature, peaceful surroundings, and the perfect way to stretch our legs during the trip. Highly recommend this short but rewarding walk if you’re in the area!

I have been visiting all Swedish national parks this one I have pased by 100+ time but it come out 27out of 30 to visit and oh men this was just incredible. I went there early morning to get sunrise and it’s in my top 3 Swedish national parks it is so gorgeous. Hike is very easy it’s only flat. But the view you get in early morning is incredible beautiful. Must visit place if in area. Or even if you are not in are it’s so worth the visit. Easy to park and hike is just beautiful.

A beautiful setting for persons who enjoy art, landscape, and farm animals. Not easy to reach with public transportation but I enjoy hiking....so it was perfect for me to walk 30 minutes from Bottnaryd. Lucky to have good weather on my visit. I would avoid going during rain, as you will miss 75% of what there is to see.

Better than expected. My girlfriend and I camped in a tent. Really appreciated the stuga right by the tent area. Everything seamed clean and well maintained. We downhill MTB'd for a couple days, hit the freeride park, tuboggen ride, mini golfed, rented a canoe, swam and trail ran. Breakfast buffet was great and a worthy addition for us. Could spend a week here, with some xc biking and a round of golf. Cool spot for active couples and families. Even a outdoor gym. Reasonable prices too. Allt möjligt!

Wonderful vacation spot. We were here during the summer and spent a week in a cabin. The lake is beautiful and basecamp offers more activities than we could do during our stay. Hiking, climbing, mountainbiking, etc. Bikes, canoes etc are for rent. It's all quite expensive but equipment is well taken care off and staff is very kind and helpful. Also the playground is lots of fun and our children (5 and 9) spent a lot of time there. And the climbing forest is a real challenge. The cabin was small but fine, clean and had everything we needed. It's good to be aware that it's on a busy road and there's lots of people coming for the day as well, so if you're looking for quiet time, you might want to stay somewhere else.

Really interesting Abbey, founded in the 12th century. Information signs well made. They describes the ruin and life back in the days. The building itself is also well preserved and restored. This Museum was one of our Highlights this summer so far. Very good visitor reception, beautiful info material and many things to really do active. Very reasonable value for money, not as for example the saab museum which is expensive and offers nearly no visitor guidance. VerY recommended, you can stay here with your RV and take a bath in the lake.

A historic reenactment Park, Stone age to iron age. There are many exhibits, and you can participate in paddling, archery toolmaking etc. There is also a shop and a good café/lunchrestaurant. Not very crowded at our visit.

Very good Bikepark for advanced bikes. Good variation of trails, lot of signal trails and the lift with the easy loop system, easy and fast! U can do a lot of laps in one day! Very nice staff

Nice bikepark in the summer. Has only 2 trails, but they are very long. One ist good for beginners, a very flowy line with lots of berms and a few side hits. The other one has rock slabs in it, reminiscent of Whistler trails. To recommend!

There isn’t many choices around west coast Sweden for an one-day skiing trip, Ulricehamns Ski Center is probably the best one. I forgot my skis outside the service center. When I went back there the day after, I found out that my skis are collected in a storage room along with other lost and found things. Very nice staffs working there.

Great place, nice and helpful staff. You can rent all the gear, there is a restaurant and restrooms. The longest slopes is around 500m so nothing huge but still the best thing in this area. Free parking.

Limmareds Glasbruk. A large glass exhibition with glass from the 17th century.  Shop with glass, café in conservatory. Art exhibitions and conferences. Here, you can also enjoy Buffet lunch of the day. Many places to find a table either in the winter garden or in the entrance hall with it’s special atmosphere. The food was good and staff friend.

We came here for the museum and stayed for tasty lunch. What more can you want. In the museum you can watch glass artists while they are forming the molten glass into art. Nearby was a museum with changing collections. At our visit it had playing cards collections, which we found quite interesting.

To be honest disapointed. Though open till 8 on saturday the food stops at 4 & all the antique shops were closed. Perhaps another time we passed on the cycle trail & will pass again on our return north.

Very interesting castle, it's amazing how well preserved it is. Staff is very friendly.The only slight inconvenience is that english guide is available only at 11am on the weekends, but an english guide book is provided, which is great - I would advice to have around 2 hours to explore the castle and read historical references. Bonus point surroundings are very beautiful.

AMAZING!! I went in without a tour but a info folder that was handed to me. Mind blown! This castle that looks fairly square on the outside has many layers inside and ’in between’ areas, a dungeon (of course) and so many stone stairways. It’s like stepping back into time. You can just imagine being there back then. Great information on history and persons in every room. Go and soak up the atmosphere!! Ps: I noticed this really nice, peculiar odour throughout the castle, from top levels to the dungeon. Very consistent, no ’hotspots’ of this nice subtle smell. I asked the lady at the front outside desk what it was assuming they had placed the scent but she had never noticed. If anyone knows what it is, please respond to this. I want it in my house! Also a nice café just next to Stenhus and toilets. Enjoy!

We took the English tour and were absolutely impressed. Coming from a region in Germany full of castles, we had high expectations and this one met them in every way. The guide was fantastic, full of fascinating details throughout the tour. Afterwards you can explore on your own, wander the grounds and take beautiful photos. What made it even better: our guide stuck around at the entrance to share extra tips about what to see next in the area. Highly recommended for anyone who loves history and stunning sites!

A great museum with very informative and thoughtfully curated exhibitions. We were pleasantly surprised to find a well-stocked DIY maker space with lots of great fabrics, buttons, scraps and working sewing machines. We were able to create this cool back-to-school outfit while we were there!

Interesting exposition of various machines. Very well preserved and you can almost touch them. Almost, because you'd lose a finger! They are in working condition and weave fabrics right in front of you! Listen to the story and see how parts of the machines dance. It's pretty good especially the ground floor of the exhibition and you can sew something by yourself upstairs using their materials and machines. But the exhibition upstairs is not the best even though there are designer clothes but the type which most of the people laughs at today like recent Balenciaga etc.

Best museum in Borås. Situated in simonsland the building own one part for the university and some companies itself and the museum located in the first floor and near to the food company. The content of this museum is all about the textile and more textile structures are displayed in this museum. Can find useful records and videos to view through the gallery and entrance free for student. For now they have a kind of game to play it calls tubes and this will available until August. Recommend place for knowledge and fun.

We -2 adults and 1 20 year old- visited this science center as a break in our travel and although it is more geared to elementary school aged children (and younger) we had a blast. It's all very hands on, very educational and fun. Great achievement.

This place is very nice around the summer. Some animals are out but it's not like a wow factor. However the place is free. Even the patting zoo! It's worth a stop if you come by. However, not all roads are paved so if you have someone in a wheeochaie it can prove a bit difficult. Even though this place is close to the city itself it's surprisingly quiet.

Tickets are sold on a come first basis so ensure to arrive well in time of departure as the trains are very popular. This goes to finding parking spaces as well which can be challenging at times. But nonetheless a day out well worth doing for the whole family!

Taking the old stream train from Anten to Gräfsnäs is definitely a trip that you will never forget. The train stops once during the journey to show how water is added. In the end of the journey, you can see how the locomotive changes direction. Very educational. It is quite popular in summer. Try to get there a bit earlier than the scheduled time in order to guarantee the tickets.

Shows a lot about history and the past... They have a museum which depicts a lot of history and shows a lot of different things. They have a few items for sale, which are historic . Also it is a good place to show kids old things to explain how things were in real life

We had a really nice hike and a bite after. We were able to park our bikes next to the info/ restaurant. There are maps available but the walks are clearly marked from there.

Great place for some well deserved "fika" when you have been out for a walk in the beautiful surroundings. Great vegan/vegetarian options and eco conscious dishes on the menu. Great place for children with some exhibits and a playcorner with crayons and toys.

Great museum focussing on the Swedish middle ages (post Viking age) of the city. It tells stories regarding life in Lödöse specifically and middle ages in general. When close by a visit is recommended!

Visited from a cruise ship while docked in Gothenburg. Firstly it is not a hotel but a visitor attraction and museum. It took us around 30 mins on the coach to arrive at the castle but it is well worth the drive. It is now a museum as such and is very well maintained. We had a guided tour and the history was explained very well from the castles conception to the family that built it (actually a Scotsman). What I liked most was that while it is a museum walking around it still felt lived in and quite homely to me which added to its attraction. All the original artefacts and fittings are still on display and there is plenty to see. There is some great views from the windows and the gardens are well maintained. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour and I would consider it a must see attraction when visiting Gothenburg. You can get afternoon tea if you wish but unfortunately we did not have the time for that.

Did not spend a night, just went on a guided tour of the castle and swam in the ocean. Guide was wonderful! Told us the history of the castle in a very inspirational manner

Took 3 hours to walk around the castle and gardens. Beautiful and not that crowded. Ate baked potato to lunch at the cafe. Perfect stop on our road trip.

Right. So you get to Tjolöholm. And of course, being in Scandinavia, it's a few minutes past 5 pm, so the doors are all locked. Perfectly predictable, isn't it? A bit of a shame, but as it turns out, it really doesn't matter. Even from the outside, the place is just brilliant. My word, it's a magnificent, imposing building that looks like something out of a film. And the location? A proper triumph. Perched right there, overlooking the water. It's utterly stunning and perfectly placed. It proves that a place can be brilliant even if you can’t get inside. It makes you feel genuinely happy for the person who lived there. A proper, lucky soul.

Didn't stay at the caste just visited one afternoon. The garden is beautiful and it's very romantic to walk around the building and down to the shore. Makes you feel like royalty.

Just a super beautiful place at an amazing location. If you have an extended trip to Göteborg, then you must stay here too!

I love visiting Tjolöholm castle, although its more like a stately home. You'd never imagine this place in Sweden, its more befitting to a victorian family in England. Not surprising as it was built as a tribute to a Scottish business man by his widow. Lots of interesting rooms to visit. It's changed since I first visited 30 years ago. Definitely worth a visit. Great cafe on-site! Car park could be closer. My sister struggled to walk to the home due to recovery from surgery but persisted.

Visited Hede Fashion Outlet recently and had a good experience overall. The outlet has a nice atmosphere-spacious, clean, and not too crowded. It's a great place to spend a few hours shopping. You'll find many big international brands, especially for dresses, bags, and shoes. Prices vary-some stores offer real outlet deals, while others feel more like regular retail with small discounts. But if you look around, you can definitely find good bargains. There's also a small selection of cafés and restaurants to take a break-like Espresso House

It is good place for shopping for some brands like Adidas and Ralph Lauren. You can find good collection and good deals in these two shops especially in Black week.

Good shopping place. It has several brands outlet, most of them had atleast 20% discount going on. Adidas and some other sports brands had few other offers. Huge parking space and easy to reach by bus. Wish to see more food options.

Easily travel from Fehmarn(Germany )to Denmark by this ferry, in 45 minutes, enter with your car to ferry, park it in parking(keep in your mind it’s location 🤓)go to the top floors and enjoy moving to the see

The place to be if you know which brands you need. It is a compact outlet centre so the number of brands is very limited. You get good deals though. The parking is huge and free. For those who get hungry from carrying all the bags: there are restaurants and bars.

This outlet is quite different from what you might know from countries like Germany or the Netherlands. It is smaller, the selection is less, and it is super empty. However, the salespeople are very nice and try to help wherever they can! Compared to the aforementioned countries, the prices are significantly cheaper. Therefore, it is definitely worth a visit to save some money.

Overall, decent experience, but after visiting a few places like this around Europe it is unfortunately average. Animals are few and between, some tanks are dirty and with a lot of green algae. My child had a decent time but as a adult you would expect a little bit more.

Such an amazing place! A must visit if you go to Gothenburg There is something for everyone here- space,dinosaurs, science, aquarium, rainforest, kids place area. There is a cafe and restaurant on site too, we went to the cafe and the food was lovely we got a grilled cheese and a cookie. The place itself is fantastic, there is so many opportunities to learn things and to get involved in activities. It truly is such a lovely place that you can spend hours in! Would definitely recommend!!!

Great experience! I actually went twice during my visit to Gothenburg. I went by myself at first and spend 1.5 hours there, enjoyed it so much that I went again with my partner for another hour. So much to see and enjoy for all ages. Definitely recommend visiting. It was a bit busy when I went during the day because there were some school classes also there (a lot of kids). The second time I went an hour before closing and it was quieter then.

Was a bit disappointed, there were a lot of aquariums or displays « in construction » or empty. The aquarium side seemed to be a bit abandoned. There was still a lot of information given by the posters. The rainforest was very nice, with birds flying freely in the space. Again, many things were just empty. It is nice that you have other exhibitions includes with you entry (body, space, data). It’s very kids oriented. Normally I enjoy aquariums as much as kids, but for this one I should’ve skipped it, not enough fishes (no jelly fish for example, very few mantras, lack of fish in the big fish tunnel). Good thing is after 16:30 it’s only 200kr!

It's nicely designed & well made, we loved it! -1⭐️ because they (currently?) have a massive spider problem! Codwebs are EVERYWHERE & you genuinely have to be careful from spiders hanging from ceilings (we had to duck under 3 & probably still disturbed some nets) It therefore looks a little badly taken care of because of that.. So be warned it you suffer from Arachnophobia haha

A full day of fun, learning, and exploring nature! Universeum is great for kids and families. Don’t miss the incredible Wisdome experience; the 3D universe and T.Rex shows were highlights. Be sure to ask for the English recorded machine if needed. The Aquarium and reptiles section was very good. While the Rainforest was good, we noticed many animals were missing and could only spot flamingos. Despite the missing rainforest residents, the overall experience was excellent and highly recommended.

Honestly, it's a bit for kids but me and two other 40 year old men still enjoyed it. Go in, go to the elevators at the back and go to floor 7. We went in after 3pm so it was cheaper. From there there's a series of ramps and you can basically walk down through the whole building. Floor to ceiling fish tanks, reptile area, space and science area with a cloud chamber that was cool. Little screen with some cool videos. Then you can go through the hot house floors, nipping out through the airlocks to checkout the floors adjacent on your way down as it's very humid in there, breaks recommended. For us it filled a few hours and one of us needs a walking stick so highly recommend that top down route for that reason.

Very nice museum. I wasn't expecting such a nicely designed interior from looking at the outside of the building. Great exhibition space and a very nice mix between 'modern' and more 'classic' art works. And what a wonderful collection of expressionist works. Highly recommended.

Wonderful museum. The building itself is just magnificent. There are great open spaces inside to display all kinds of art and sculptures. I had to visit 2 times as I couldn't do it justice in one place. Was lucky to catch the APOCALYPSE exhibition. Really well curated. We went early doors to avoid the crowds as it got a bit busy. The café attached was a bit odd, like a wine bar at midnight. We went to the very popular cafe a short walk away Victor's and had a gorgeous cake and coffee.

The place was a total surprise. To start, when you only pay about 6 euros for entry, you don’t really expect much. But right from the first room, you’re amazed by how incredible the collection is. It features pieces from famous painters, as well as Nordic artists I had never encountered before and immediately appreciated. Truly stunning and worth every second.

One of the most important museums in Scandinavia, not only in Gothenburg! You can see works by Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gogh, Munch, Monet, as well as contemporary artists such as Charlotte Gyllenhammar and Lina Selander. We were lucky to also see the amazing Apocalypse exhibition currently on display. A museum well worth visiting!

A great place to visit! I especially enjoyed the 6th floor, which was the most interesting to me. It featured incredible paintings and sculptures by masters like Degas, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Monet, Rodin, Chagall, and Picasso. The exhibits were beautifully displayed, making it easy to appreciate the detail and artistry. Entry was free thanks to Kulturkallas, which made the experience even better. A must-visit for anyone who loves art and culture.

I went to this part of Gothenburg to see a concert at the Trädgårdsföreningen park in the city centre. The Garden Society building itself was being renovated so I was covered in scaffolding and wind sheets, and it was temporarily closed to the public. The park and gardens outside the building were a wonderful setting for the concert, next to the river. There was a peaceful, relaxed vibe and the Swedish city folk are friendly, sociable and welcoming. It’s an immaculately, clean city.

Garden very well maintained. Abundance of roses. Many hidden paths, benches and well curated areas. Pity Palm House was closed for upgrade. Visited in early September 2025.

Main greenhouse was closed (for renovations) on my visit, but the property was free (no cost) to explore. Property was beautiful and it’s a charming place to explore or relax.

The Garden Society is a very big green complex in the sole city center. It follows all the way the Gota river canal and continues into the next door Kungspark. Garden society consists of several green areas with fountains, flowers, rose garden, kids playground,.... There're many paths running through, as well benches to rest and places to picnic or just lay on the grass. The Palm house is currently closed for renovations. We were there during ACDC concert, so it was packed with fans.

If you are into this kind of thing, then its a great visit. About 4 ships and a.Submarine to explore Some of them are a tight fit and there lots of small spaces so bare this in mind when you visit.

Lovely museum to learn about naval history and innovations! Can easily spend a few days exploring the boats and ships. Well maintained and cleaned too! I would love if there were more detailed tours that I could attend. I like the short tours but I am sure that the boats and ships have more stories than that!

This museum literally floats! Every part is on a boat, ship or submarine and it was so interesting. The main ship is a retired destroyer and we were able to explore every floor from the captains chair right at the top on desk to the ammunition stores and the engine room right down in the hull. And then we got to go on a submarine... And then a patrol boat and an old fire engine ship. Highly, highly recommended. I would suggest allowing at least two hours for your visit.

You get to see some interesting vessels. Lots of very interesting signage explains everything with some history. There were a few signs without English versions , but in understandable situations. Figuring where there arrows wanted you to go however was a little more challenging sometimes. Overall very nice, and worth the ticket prices.

There was a lot to see! It gets quite hot especially in the U-boat and the deeper parts of the ship. Some places didn’t seem to be maintained so well but overall it was a good experience.

Super cool boat museum, I've been to many in the past but have never had to crawl through so many little hatches and get to see so much of the boats! Things I've read about came to life, especially in the submarine but even for the large war ship, you get a sense of the daily living and working conditions, details like repairs and engineering and the power systems, which are usually not part of accessible tours I've seen. Do check it out! It is but accessible at all, many steep, narrow ladders and hatches. Much ducking involved if you're tall. You can tour a larger destroyer used on stealth missions, a submarine from then cold war, a fire ship, a flat river gunboat (unfortunately for this one the signage is all in Swedish), and a smaller more recent patrol vessel. Super cool. Bonus, the gift shop had marine wall stickers I've been looking for for a long while 😁

One of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. Free admission, with optional donations. It feels more like a vast natural park — almost like a national park — right in the middle of Gothenburg. Perfect for picnics, sunbathing, or hiking up to a small mountain that was recently cleared after being overgrown for decades. Walking here feels like stepping into wild nature. Highly recommended for stress relief.

Well kept charming botanical garden! Its so lush in greenery. Landscaping is stunning! There are plenty of walking paths as well as running. Its a green lush haven from the city. Can easily take the tram. Very much worth the visit!

Like many things in Gothenburg there is construction and/or renovation occurring and the botanical garden is no exception as the glass houses are being replaced and won’t be open until 2030. The map of the garden is a great guide but recommend going to the wild side, Smith Valley and getting to the high point with great views.drop down from here into the rock garden with the waterfall. Definitely worth the visit.

Great place for the weekend - lots of pathways, interesting and unusual plants. There is also a cafe along the way and the gift shop and restrooms. Admission is for free, with possible volunteer contribution. Really worth visiting ! Can’t wait when the greenhouse will be opened.

Really amazing this place, it's so nice and big. I need to visit it one more time in spring to see all the flowers. But beautiful to take a walk in the park.

It is a nice, diverse garden with different sections. It also goes up quite a bit, so be prepared. The mainroad is easy to walk, at some places it gets quite steep. This could be difficult for older people or people with children. Additionally, there are many side ways but there are steps most of the time, so plan accordingly. We couldn't visit the greenhouses because they are under construction (like 50% of the city at the moment, at least it felt like it)

Slottsskogen is a beautiful park 🌳. Clean and well-kept, with ice cream stands 🍦 and cafés ☕, and a fantastic playground that’s well equipped with a slide 🛝, obstacle course 🧗, swings 🪂, and much more. Kids can have a great time here for hours on a sunny day ☀️. There’s also a free zoo 🐧🦌 with penguins, moose, and various forest animals 🐿️. In the children’s zoo 🐐, little ones can pet goats, sheep 🐑, and more. During summer, there’s horseback riding 🐎 too. You can walk for hours in the park, simply admiring the beautiful forest 🌲, the lovely sounds 🎶, and the stunning colors of nature 🎨.

An amazing park in the center of a city. Green everywhere, perfectly kept and with some areas with live animals like deers, sheep, chicken, seals or penguins. I guess is an old facility and that swedish would build something bigger for these animals as the space is quite small.

If you love green and trees , that's the place you need. Picnic places, relaxing places. Children's playground.
