Sights & Landmarks
The Aphrodisias Ancient City Museum, established in 1979, showcases recovered artifacts from the historic Greek city of Aphrodisias. Located in a remote Anatolian region, this site encompasses vast expanses and beautiful natural surroundings such as Roman poplars, green fields and chirping birds. It was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2017 for its grandeur and scale.
While somewhat of a detour from other sites, this place is absolutely worth a visit. The site itself is phenomenal, with a largely intact greek amphitheater with a capacity of 30,000 people, an extensively restored public pool and Roman theater. You will see a lot without the crowds of Efesus or Pumukalle.

Another must-see archeological site. İt is about a 3hrs drive from Izmir. What impressed me the most was the 170mt pool, it is unrestored now but I hope it will be one day. One remark: the museum building is closed to visitors.
Ahmet B — Google review
One of the most fascinating places I have ever been to. Absolutely stunning peace's with very well preserved parts. I loved the masks wall and also the pool at the main square. Don't miss the Theatre. Less expensive (€12) and much less crowded than Ephesus
Rose V — Google review
Enchanting archeological site. Some buildings are in incredible good state and the visit is very enjoyable as there aren’t crowds of tourists.
Mattia T — Google review
The archeological site is fantastic, interesting and beautiful. You can easily spend there 2 hours. Take some water and a hat, as it can be very hot on the sun. However, the Museum is currently closed...and this was very dissapointing.
László H — Google review
It is one of the best places I have ever been. 100% worth it. We were alone

Absolutely beautiful, well-preserved and off the beaten path. Low crowds mean you can walk on and around the ruins. Come early and explore in near silence and solitude.
Erik S — Google review
We had limited time and we were not sure if we should include this in our itinerary, but we did and we were delighted. Way less crowded than Ephesus, and from my point of view experientially deeper and easier to immerse into the history of the place without the tour busses. Though smaller than Ephesus, the 170 m long swimming pool must have been a treat, and Aphrodisias had plenty of water the gardens were reportedly magnificent. Definitely a City I may have wanted to live in back in the day…

5 years after our first visit (which was fantastic) there is so much to explore, thanks to continuous excavations. You can no longer enter at any time however, and the area is fenced. An incredible place to explore

great place to visit. free entrance and lot to see. no crowds. you can reach this place only with a car.

Definitely off the beaten path but pretty impressive. They are continually excavating and unearthing the area. They have already posted signs of information. If you’re up for a short high, the view at the top is really nice. Right now it is free to visit and it closes at 5:00. There was 1 other person visiting when we arrived and there were a couple diggers in the area.

Make sure not to miss this hidden gem if you're in the vicinity. Located approximately 40 km north of Denizli, to the east of Buldan and Yenicekent Towns, it nestles at the base of a hill nestled between the Buyuk Menderes River and Yenicekent Town. The stunning natural landscape, especially the mountain views, makes it a destination worth exploring! Continuous excavation efforts are underway, revealing more of its historical treasures. Informative signs have been strategically placed to guide visitors through the site. For those seeking a brief adventure, the panoramic view from the hilltop is simply breathtaking. Admission is currently free, with closing time set at 5:00 PM. During our visit, there were no other tourists around, just a few dedicated excavators working nearby.
Sarah I — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful ancient site that you should come to. Entry is free, and there's no other tourists when I'm here. A lot of ancient artifacts and site that you can explore and learn about.

Amazing place! you get very humble here, because,🤩 It's very beautiful, and special, to Walk in the remains of an ancient city of the old roman empire! You can almost imagine ,what is must look like back then!
John M — Google review
Hidden gem in between villages. Tripolis provides guests with a lot to look at. Thanks to the, still ongoing, reconstructions. Walk through the old streets, have a look into the remote church and even make a little break at the elevation with an astonishing panorama-view. If you're near Denizli/Aydın then plan a day-vacation! Besides, entree is free and you'll even be escorted by a companion. The cute dog will follow you and is more than happy to get some pets on his head.
Ares M — Google review
Wow. What a find this was. Off the beaten track for sure, but we'll worth a 30 min stop on your route. Information boards in English and Turkish. Imagine it would be spectacular at night too. Free parking. No shade. A little uneven under foot (push chairs would struggle).

Cakiraga Mansion

Cakiraga Mansion is a historical gem located in the charming village of Birgi, Turkey. This well-preserved Ottoman mansion has been converted into a museum, showcasing its rich history and traditional lifestyle. The wooden building features stunning hand-painted decorations adorning the walls and ceilings, offering visitors a visual treat. Nestled in a green courtyard, the mansion boasts beautiful miniatures and frescoes, reflecting the opulence of its time.
A real gem in Birgi. The best part lace to be in the cosy old town of Birgi. It is good that it’s been converted to museum. Considering that it’s a wooden building well preserved. Hand painted decorations all over the walls and ceilings are absolutely beautiful.

What a great place to see the history! An amazing mansion specificly designed to wake up while looking at the Bozdaglar. Each room designed differently. Recommend to visit this place.

It is a very nice old mansion for 200+ years, now it is a museum. The rooms where all the walls are beautifully adorned with ornaments are spectacular. However, there are no furnished room .
Ismail A — Google review
Birgi is an enchanting village in Turkiye that feels untouched by time. Known for its beautifully preserved Ottoman architecture, rich historical significance, and peaceful “slow town” vibe, Birgi offers an immersive experience into Turkish heritage and rural life. Designated as a Cittaslow, or "slow town," Birgi takes pride in preserving its traditional lifestyle and natural environment, creating a refreshing escape for travelers seeking history, culture, and tranquility. Birgi’s roots trace back to ancient times, when it was home to Phrygian, Lydian, and Roman civilizations before flourishing under the Aydinids and later the Ottomans. As a result, Birgi is a living tapestry of history, blending diverse cultures and architectural styles in a way that feels both rich and harmonious. This legacy makes Birgi a unique and invaluable part of Turkey’s cultural landscape, as well as a destination of international importance for those interested in historical preservation. One of Birgi's most striking features is its well-preserved Ottoman architecture. Walking through the village's cobblestone streets, you’ll find elegant wooden houses with intricate woodwork and traditional stone facades, many of which date back centuries. The Çakırağa Mansion, one of Birgi’s most iconic buildings, is a masterpiece of Ottoman craftsmanship. Built in the 18th century, this grand mansion features beautifully painted interiors and detailed wood carvings that reflect the sophistication and artistic talent of its time. It’s a rare example of the Ottoman elite’s lifestyle and remains one of Turkey’s most treasured heritage sites. The Great Mosque of Birgi, or Ulu Camii, is another must-visit landmark. Built in the early 14th century by Mehmet Bey, the mosque is one of the oldest in Anatolia and a stunning example of Seljuk architecture. Its wooden minbar, decorated with delicate carvings, and the unique stone design reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of the Aydinid period. This mosque is a peaceful place to reflect on the region’s spiritual history and admire the craftsmanship that has withstood the centuries. Birgi’s commitment to preserving its heritage extends beyond its architecture to its way of life. As a Cittaslow, Birgi prioritizes sustainable living and traditional culture, inviting visitors to slow down and savor the small moments. The village’s narrow streets are lined with family-run shops, artisan markets, and cozy cafes where you can enjoy locally sourced food and handmade crafts. The pace of life here is slow, allowing you to truly appreciate the surroundings and connect with the local people, who are warm, welcoming, and proud of their heritage. The local cuisine is another highlight of a visit to Birgi. Many of the dishes here are prepared with ingredients grown in the surrounding farmlands and flavored with herbs from the Bozdağ Mountains. You can savor traditional Aegean dishes, from fresh olive oils to savory gözleme (stuffed flatbreads) and handcrafted jams. Dining in Birgi is not just a meal; it’s a cultural experience that showcases the village’s agricultural roots and commitment to sustainable practices. Birgi’s natural beauty adds to its charm, with lush landscapes, olive groves, and fresh mountain air. The village is surrounded by trails that lead into the Bozdağ Mountains, offering opportunities for hiking and exploring the pristine environment. Each season brings its own beauty to Birgi, from the vibrant blooms of spring to the golden hues of autumn. The landscape itself feels like part of the village’s identity, a source of pride and livelihood for the people who call it home. For anyone interested in history, architecture, or simply finding a peaceful retreat, Birgi is a remarkable destination. Its status as a slow town and dedication to preserving its heritage make it a model for sustainable tourism. By visiting Birgi, you’re not just exploring a village—you’re experiencing a way of life rooted in respect for tradition, nature, and community.

A great gem in the middle of an antique Ottoman outpost village. A relatively well-maintained house with beautiful miniatures and frescoes on its walls, nestled in a green courtyard. A fantastically visual and cuktural treat.

Blaundus is a city founded during the Hellenistic period. Located on the top of a hill, it is a pleasant place with a great view and a breeze. However, please be careful as the road is not paved for the last 2km. It is possible to learn more about Blaundus at the Usak Museum Exhibit.

Amazing place I cannot explain my feelings when. I was there, There is magic from those Old stones just sit and close your eyes and try to match your soul with Old souls from there, try to image how the life was there in the Old time, how many people were there, and now you are part of that, one of them, I recommended and I will go back again for sure.

Not so many things to see compared to other places in this area but still views are impressive and worth a short stop!
Olha R — Google review
So this is a little out of the way. But, if you are near by and have a spare hour, then take the drive to this 'live' archaeological site. The iconic gate and three monuments are the only things really standing, but information boards (English and Turkish) explain detail about this military city.

(Translated by Google) Hello, There is no permission to go to the entrance of the ski resort. The Gendarmerie does not allow it. You can leave the vehicle on the side of the road and continue on foot. If you want to make sausage, bread and tea with a view of Bozdağ, there were many people lighting a barbecue. We went up the hills from the roadside and enjoyed the snow. Nice place in very beautiful scenery. We visited this place in May for 5 days and it was cool, but not too cold, unless it rained. The thermal bath is very unique and classic, with tall rooms and white marble stone walls. 5/5 value for money. Good and practical place for the price. A bit old-fashioned. Rooms were good and clean enough. Friendly staff. Pools are separated for men and women but you can rent a family pool. Rooms have their own bath tubs with thermal water. A lot of parking place. Rooms are warm and have air-condition.
Mika T — Google review
It's a beautiful place with rich nature, clean and well kept accommodation. It's a humble place that well worth the 180 tl price tag. Although it's an old place but amazingly well kept and clean. Having said that, it's time to renovate the furniture. I recommend this place over any hotel as it offers fantastic natural setting.

(Translated by Google) DETAILED DESCRIPTION I looked at the comments before coming, but I came anyway. The facility is very nice, we stayed in B type rooms, in large nature, very clean inside, nice sheets, very clean, I paid special attention to it, the thermal bathtub is in the bathroom, the bathtub was old, I guess they don't care much because it belongs to the municipality, but we washed it and used it. The water was very nice and hot, in fact, there is a refrigerator, TV, and stove in the rooms. You need to bring things like plates, glasses, etc. when you come, if you don't want to, there is a restaurant that serves grills within the facility, there is also a restaurant for breakfast, mixed breakfast for two people is 500. Before you reach the facility, there is an alcoholic restaurant 500 meters behind. The price is very reasonable. If you come in the summer, there is a large outdoor playground and a children's playground. Apart from that, there is a small grocery store within the facility selling junk food, shampoo, bread, cigarettes, etc. There is a common thermal pool in the area for men and women. Separately, there is a children's playground within the facility. We were satisfied. We paid 3000 TL per night for a room for 3 people. The price just seemed high to us. Other than that, it was very nice. (Original) DETAYLI AÇİKLAMA Yorumlara baktım gelmeden önce fakat yine de geldim tesis çok güzel geniş doğa içinde b tipi odalarda kaldık içi gayet temiz güzel çarşafları ter temiz özellikle ona dikkat ettim, termal küveti banyonun içinde, küvet eskiydı sadece sanırım belediyeye ait olduğu için pek ilgilenmiyor lar ama biz yıkadık kullandık suyu gayet güzel sıcaktı hatta baya, odalarda buzdolabı, tv, ocak var gelirken tabak bardak vs gibi eşyalar getirmeniz gerek, istemezseniz de tesis içinde bir adet ızgara yapan restaurant var, kahvaltı için ayrıca restaurant var iki kişilik serpme kahvaltı 500 , tesise varmadan 500 m geride alkollü restaurant var fiyatı gayet uygun yazın gelirseniz açık alanı çok geniş çocuk parkı falan da var, onun dışında tesis içinde küçük bakkal var abur cubur, şampuan, ekmek sigara, vs satılıyor.Alan içinde ortak termal havuz var bay bayan ayrı, tesis içinde çocuk parkı var,Biz memnun kaldık 3 kişilik odaya gecelik 3000 tl ödedik fiyat sadece yüksek geldi bize onun dışında çok güzel.

Sardis Ancient City

Ancient Ruins
Sardis Ancient City, located east of Izmir, is an astonishing archaeological site that was one of the most important cities in antiquity. The city boasts impressive ruins including a Roman gymnasium, synagogue, Byzantine churches, and the temple of Artemis. The site is still being excavated and has undergone significant refurbishment to preserve its historical significance. Visitors can explore the well-maintained synagogue with beautiful mosaics and a glass floor over one of them.
This was the fourth of the seven congratulations in the book of revelation that we saw yesterday and it was the least expensive and best one so far, helpful staff, nice shop, and ice cold drinks out front , don't forget there is more to see up the hill in another site and your 110 Turkish £ ticket covered it, on the same day
Kevin P — Google review
The Forgotten Glory of the Lydian Empire / Sardis, once the glittering capital of the Lydian Empire, offers a remarkably well-preserved glimpse into a once-thriving ancient civilization. The Lydian Empire flourished in western Anatolia from the 7th to 6th century BCE and is credited with inventing the world’s first known coinage, made of electrum. Under the legendary King Croesus, Sardis became synonymous with immense wealth and influence. One of the most impressive structures in Sardis today is the Roman-era gymnasium, with its reconstructed two-story marble façade, soaring arches, and monumental design that showcased Roman ideals of strength and education. Just beside it lies the grand ancient synagogue—one of the largest known from antiquity—testifying to the vibrant Jewish community that lived in Sardis. The synagogue’s well-preserved mosaic floors, adorned with geometric patterns, and the standing columns create a vivid picture of religious life in the late Roman period. When we arrived, we were surprised to find so few visitors despite the vastness of the site. It felt peaceful and uncrowded, allowing us to reflect more deeply. Seeing the scale of Sardis made us realize how vast and powerful the empire must have been. We truly hope more people take the time to visit this impressive and meaningful place. #SardisAncientCity #LydianEmpire #RomanGymnasium #AncientSynagogue #Mosaics #Croesus #SevenChurches

This was such a lovely place to visit. Lots of biblical and ancient history. It’s not as big as some other sites so you wouldn’t need as much time. I enjoyed visiting.

The City of Sardis. The capital of the Lydian empire of 200,000 inhabitants. Had the largest synagogue in Asia Minor and known for its elaborate Bath system and Gymnasium. A place you must see in turkey. This place in one of the seven churches mentioned in the bibile. The letter to the church in Sardis, warns its believers to Wake-up and take their walk with The Lord seriously.

Visited the ruins while on group tour with members of my church. We were amazed with the excavated ruins dating back to the Byzantine and Lydian eras. The gymnasium building and synagogue mosaics were definite highlights.

(Translated by Google) We entered the area and toured the fairy chimneys, which we had only seen on the road before, because we wanted to see them more closely and with more time. This wonderful view, which is one of the wonders of nature, presented to us by the erosion of thousands of years of volcanic texture, is truly worth seeing.

Upmarket retail hub with a movie theater, fast food & sit-down eateries offering outdoor seating.
Best shopping mall in Manisa (also the only big one), it is possible to find pretty much everything you need
Ömer B — Google review
The place is not very big. A small town mall. The kids play area is filled with old and not too exciting Toys. My kids didn't like it. But the mall is good for some visits.
Ehtesham M — Google review
A large mall with many many stores, offering near anything you look for at decent prices. Clean and shiny place, easy to navigate as the stores and restaurants are categorised into different floors. The cinema is large with many salons to view the latest movies. The restaurants allow for a wide variety of selections for whatever type of food you crave. The clothes stores showcase the latest and most popular types of clothing for you to choose and buy. The tech stores and body-care stores are also constantly up to date with the latest products they get their hands on, and will often do discounts for you, especially during holidays like Eid. Great place to go with family and friends.

The place to shop in Manisa. They have all your typical brands that you’d find anywhere else, but the defining feature is the view the food court has off the mountainside. Absolutely stunning

Is not like shopping malls in izmir. But is good enough. Some choices to eat. Maybe not so "friendly" with tourists.
Konstadinos M — Google review
The only shopping center of Manisa. Manisa is a small and cozy city and you can visit this place to have some of the services that Manisa doesn't offer. You can chill in cafes, visit many stores or watch a movie in the cinema.

Bergama Museum, housed in a 1930s building, showcases significant archaeological antiquities and Middle Eastern and Islamic art. The museum is home to magnificent artifacts from Pergamon, Asklepion, the site of the dam behind Pergamon, and exquisite gold jewelry found in Bergama. Visitors can explore the rich history of the region through ancient theater ruins located nearby.
Unfortunately, the master piece(Zeus Altar)is dismantled and re-assembled in Berlin,German. But one could sense a glimpse of previous glory in the museum. So, please don't miss it if you are Hellenic/Romanic lover.

Explanations (in the English version) were rather bad, verging on the not understandable, with major mistakes (no Athens did not win the Peloponesian war !). The collection itself is also rather underwhelming, in part due to some of the best pieces being in Istanbul's archeological museum. I must however congratulate the personnel working there for their honesty, returning to me some money that had fallen from my pocket without me noticing it.

Kızıl Avlu, also known as the Red Basilica, is a Roman-era temple in Bergama that was used for the worship of Egyptian gods. The ruins feature soaring brick walls and rotundas, offering visitors a glimpse into ancient history. While some travelers recommend paying the small entrance fee to explore the well-organized museum inside, others suggest admiring the impressive building from outside.
It's a must see place in Bergama. It's a Roman empire era basilica building which might be one of the largest ones I've ever seen. You can even appreciate it more when you get in the tower and look up to the dome. It worths a visit.

We visited on 5 May 2025. Unfortunately the full site is closed for restoration. There are no signs about it being closed, and when it may re-open. Hence the two stars. I was able to take photos of the outside of the buildings through gaps in the fencing.

Came here in September with a tour group. This was just a photo stop, entrance not included. But the fee is only a small amount so worth paying to enter and look up close. But you can also walk along the fence outside to have a great view of the ancient temple.

Acropolis Lower Cableway Station

Transportation service
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
The Acropolis Lower Cableway Station offers a convenient mode of transportation to reach the Acropolis. However, if you wish to visit the museum located upstairs, an additional fee is required. Alternatively, you can choose not to go up and explore the area around the station instead. During such exploration, you may have the opportunity to interact with local vendors like Elif who sells delightful wild honey.
A good way to access the akropolis and then walk down. One-way ticket for foreign tourists is 400 TL, the price is steep but so it's the hill. At the top station there are shops for souvenirs and refreshments. One vendor even has frozen water bottles.
Bob C — Google review
They charge L500 each per return trip or L350 for a one way 3 minute ride. And that’s before paying to enter the Akropolis site. So we walked up (45 min) and down again through the additional places of interest for L0. You’re better to drive, walk or get a taxi.
Stephen H — Google review
There is a cable car which takes you to the Acropolis but upstairs you need to pay extra to see the museum. I honestly didnt go up. I stayed down and bonded with a local lady named Elif who was selling the most delicious wild honey so I bought two jars and we just talked.
Diana A — Google review
If you have a car you're better off driving up, same views and you don't have to pay to park at the gondola and then also pay for the gondola itself. There isn't even a parking lot, what are you charging for?

Pergamon Amphitheater

Concerts & Shows
Pergamon Amphitheater is part of the ancient city's remarkable structures, dating back to the time of Eumenes II. The amphitheater is situated on a hillside and is just one of the many impressive buildings in Pergamon, including the famed library, main palace, Altar of Zeus, and Temple of Athena propylaeum. The city consists of the Acropolis, Lower City, and Asklepion medical center.
A place worth visiting. I didn't meet people, but I saw beautiful views of ruins. People who created beautiful buildings once lived and walked in this place. It's worth walking these few dozen meters.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
SADAĞI CANYON NATURE PARK Sadağı Canyon was registered as a "Nature Park" in 2014 and its total area is 436 ha. Sadağı Canyon Nature Park is among the few canyons in Turkey with its geographical location, geological structure, biological and archaeological resource values. The hot water source in the center of the canyon, which was used as a hunting ground by the founder of the city, Emperor Hadrianus, between 117-138 AD, was used by the emperor to build a rock bath in the canyon. The rock bath is located approximately 3 km above the entrance of the canyon and the ruins of this historical bath can still be seen today. There is a waterfall that falls from a height of 3-4 meters approximately 300 meters after the rock bath. The walking track in the canyon is surrounded by rocks, some of which are 100 meters high, and rich vegetation. The canyon, which was on important passageways during the coma period, maintained its importance during the Ottoman Empire. The healing thermal waters in the region have been an important treatment tool for the people of the region throughout history. Located within the Uludağ mountain range, Sadağı Canyon Nature Park is one of the important areas of the region with its different habitat types such as riparian, rocky, maquis, mixed forest and rich plant diversity. In the biodiversity inventory and research sub-project carried out within the scope of the "Sadağı Canyon Nature Park Meets Ecotourists Project" carried out by our Bursa Branch Directorate in 2015-2016 and supported by BEBKA, it was determined that 151 plant taxa belonging to 64 families were distributed in Sadağı Canyon Nature Park. Five of these plant taxa are endemic. Both of the fish species (Barbus niluferensis - Simav mustache and Squalius cii - Marmara freshwater mullet) distributed in the stream in the canyon are regional endemic. In addition, Barbus niluferensis is in the NT (Near Threatened) category according to the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). The region is ichthyologically important due to the co-existence of two endemic species in the canyon. 18 amphibian and reptile species; a total of 51 bird species belonging to 23 families from 7 orders; and a total of 45 mammal species belonging to 15 families from 6 orders (Insectivora, Chiroptera, Rodentia, Carnivora, Lagomorpha, Artiodactyla) have been identified in the region. Among the bird species identified in the area, Aquila chrysaetos (Golden Eagle) and among the mammal species, Lutra lutra (Otter) are important flag species.

Suuçtu Falls

Hiking area
Waterfall dropping off a sheer cliff into natural pools ringed by forest greenery & picnic benches.
A great place to visit for a short trip. There’s also a forest with camping space and a place for fireworks so you can bring something with you and chill in the quite forest area. You need to take care of kids because this place is not super safe for them. Also a wheelchair access missed but you can watch everything from panoramic view terrace on the entry. A parking space is free here.

Suuçtu Waterfall near Mustafakemalpaşa, Bursa, is a serene and scenic natural wonder. Surrounded by lush green forest, the waterfall cascades elegantly over a high rock face, creating a peaceful atmosphere ideal for a picnic or nature walk. The cool mist and the sound of falling water provide a refreshing escape from the summer heat. It’s also great for photography and relaxing by the rocks. Easily accessible and family-friendly, Suuçtu is a perfect spot for a short nature

A splendid place. Natural waterfalls, beautiful forest and, at the same time, all the conveniences such as benches, toilets and a cafe. Be sure to walk a bit down the river stream — there are less people there and the nature is more authentic. Tickets are bought at the car gates and cost 30 TL per car.

Great place and great photo opportunity but way undeserved with almost zero facilities (except to small convience shop). The toalit is located on a relatively high piece of land, very inconvenient to the less able people. The pictures are self explanatory.

⛰️Peaceful, majestic, and awe inspiring. I went here in mid March and I had the waterfall to myself. Getting here from Bursa ➡️ Go to main bus station, take bus to Mustafakemalpaşa (50L) ➡️ Taxi to suuçtu (250TL) I'm sure you can bargain for less but my taxi driver was awesome and joined me on my adventure plus the drive is 20-30 min. There's typically a bus that goes to the next town but this was off season so it wasn't available. My only option was a taxi. ✅ Free entry (at least when I went) Be careful the rocks are extremely slippery. I wish I could have went hiking but it was so muddy I wasn't able to walk very far before going back. I spent about an hour there but you can easily spend several hours if you wanted to hike.

This is one of the oldest trees in the world, which is well over 600 years old. The tree protected by the government and it is kept is a very good condition. Unfortunately, in the area where the city is, there are numerous tables for a restaurant nearby, the presence of which undermines the principles of keeping the tree safe. Osman Gazi Türbesi

Historical landmark
The Osman Gazi Türbesi is an Ottoman tomb located on a hilltop in Bursa, Turkey. The building has been reconstructed from a Byzantine structure and includes a terrace with cafes that offer stunning views of the surrounding area. While some visitors find the tomb to be overly decorated and not aligned with Islamic teachings, it remains an important historical site for many people. The tomb itself is elevated above floor level, which goes against traditional Islamic burial practices.
Visiting the Osman Gazi Tomb was a truly moving experience. As the founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi holds a significant place in Turkish history. The tomb itself is beautifully maintained and reflects the grandeur of the Ottoman era. The serene atmosphere allows for quiet reflection on the life and legacy of this important figure. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in Turkish history and culture!

Here lies the founder of the Ottoman Empire. The shrine attracts many visitors and is ket in a very good condition. The guards at the entrance are dressed in the former of the days when Osman was the Sultan. They are a part of the attraction of the place. As it is a mausoleum, modest dressing is recommended.

The resting place of Osman Gazi, holy shrines of other important figures and close companions of the Ottoman regime. Located in Tophane park, which overlooks the panoramic view of Bursa city. Open to the visitors and free to enter, a calm, quiet and peaceful atmosphere near the tomb. A ceremonial reenactment used to perform there. Dressed as Ottoman soldiers and offer tribute to them in a crowd of spectators. Orhan Gazi's (Son of Osman Gazi) resting place is also next to this. Really a place to feel the old history and understand. A must visit spot in Bursa.

Here lies the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, I mean what can be said other than, May Allah grant Osman Gazi Jannat-ul-Firdous for all his contributions. The experience of visiting the tomb was very good. Make sure to stay till the end of the hour to see the guard change. Rest in peace sir.

The tomb of the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi! When Bursa was conquered in 1326, Osman was still alive but too ill and old to take part in the campaign, so his son Orhan led the conquest. Next to Osman Gazi’s tomb, you’ll also find the tomb of his son, Orhan Gazi. What’s interesting is that the tomb of Osman Gazi is still guarded by human guards!
Stefan — Google review
Visiting the tomb of Osman Gazi was an amazing and unforgettable experience. As the founder of the great Ottoman Empire (Osmanlı Sultanate), his final resting place carries immense historical and cultural importance. The tomb is beautifully preserved, and the peaceful atmosphere allows visitors to truly reflect on the legacy of this iconic leader. What made my visit even more special was witnessing a traditional parade near the tomb. It added a vibrant and ceremonial touch to the experience, giving a glimpse into the rich Ottoman heritage and how it’s still honored today. The location also offers stunning views over Bursa, and nearby sites like Orhan Gazi’s Tomb and the historic Tophane Clock Tower make it a perfect spot for history lovers. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring the roots of the Ottoman Empire!

Kuşcenneti Milli Parkı

National park
Nature & Parks
Lakeside park with look-out tower to spot migrating birds like herons, pelicans & cormorants.
An estimated 255 species of birds visit Bird Paradise National Park at the edge of Kuş Gölü, the lake formerly known as Manyas Gölü. Loca ted on the great migratory paths between Europe and Asia, the park is a happy combination of plant cover, reedbeds and a lake that supports at least 20 species of fish. The park will delight amateur and professional birdwatchers alike, and a good field guide and some mosquito repellent will enhance the experience. At the entrance to the park, there is a small museum with displays about various birds. Binoculars are provided at the desk and visitors make their way to an observation tower. Two main groups of birds visit the lake: those that come here to breed (March–July), and those that pass by during migration, either heading south (November) or north (April–May). Among the birds that breed around the lake are the endangered Dalmatian pelican, the great crested grebe, cormorants, herons, bitterns and spoonbills. Over three million birds fly across the area on their migratory routes – storks, cranes, pelicans and birds of prey like sparrowhawks and spotted eagles. April and May are the best months to enjoy this area. Close to the main park area, there is a restaurant that serves fresh trout, and it is a good spot to break for lunch.

Probably went at the wrong time of day but barely saw some flamingos in the distance. Have to pay to get in and olits really small and you have to pay to use the telescope in the only tower. Not worth it.
James G — Google review
Lovely park, however the best view you get is from the live stream screens in the museum. The tower is a good idea, 1 lira to use the telescopes where you cannot adjust focus or zoom. Overall the live feeds were amazing, but I wish the telescopes were better and that you could walk around more
Kate B — Google review
I was there 30 years ago. My memory was a huge wild forest. It is now looks like a mansion garden. It is possible to see some pelicans and other sea birds like flamingo. Or you can visit museum and check filled birds.

The road from balikesir took an hour to reach to the bird paradise kus cenneti entrance for adult is 35 tl when u enter on the right side there is a small display room for the birds which will take 10 minutes to finish then u can head to the tower unfortunately the lift was broken so no chance for elderly people to go up, at roof only 2 binoculars are working and u need the 1tl coin to work it Few birds were spotted may be because it is summer Place is small in general and need more attention No cafes or stores are available inside

It's a nice place to visit. There is a birds museum but it's not very big, you can see only local birds there. You can also sit in the chair and watch birds online from cameras placed over the natural park. The thing I liked most is a possibility to watch birds. You can take binoculars for free and watch birds from the Birds watching tower.

The national park is only about 20 minutes away from Bandirma but, the minibus station from which minibuses drive to the park is a little far from the city centre. There are minibus services to the park and back a few times during the day. The park itself is worth to see from my opinion as there are not many other places to visit in Bandirma. The park has a little museum in which you can find taxidermy birds common in the park. There is also a watch tower from where you can watch birds nesting, etc. You might borrow a pair of binoculars from the museum to see the birds in a better manner. The park is so quite and far from city noise pollution. So, it could be a unique experience for you particularly if you enjoy birdwatching. The villagers at the nearby village are also friendly and helpful.

Mudanya Armistice House

Museum
Specialty Museums
Mudanya Armistice House, a 19th-century building, is a significant historical site where the 1922 treaty recognizing the Republic of Turkey was signed. The museum inside offers an immersive experience, showcasing preserved rooms from that era and the very table where the historic treaty was signed. This pivotal moment in Turkish history marked the end of the military theater of Turkish War of Independence.
Was a surprsingly nice Christmas Market ongoing when we were there end of December.

Very cool place - right infront there's a huge square with lot of resturants, cafes and bars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A beautiful and meaningful place full of history. This is where the Mudanya Armistice was signed — walking inside feels like stepping back in time. The rooms are well preserved, and you can really feel the spirit of the early years of the Republic. The staff are very kind and helpful, always ready to explain and guide you. It’s right by the sea, peaceful and elegant. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Bursa or Mudanya. Note:closed on Mondays

It's a historical mark for Turkish Nation and the place in where the ceasefire agreement was signed and ended the military theater of Turkish War of Independence. Fun fact; even though the battle was between Turkey and Greece on the battleground, Greek representatives weren't allowed to take part of the treaty and waited in a ship nearby.

A good local museum about a peace process of international significance. It's a while since I went, there was quite a bit of info in both Turkish and English, but maybe not everything was presented in both. Still, very much worth a visit.
Andy A — Google review
There were plastic chairs and tables at the terrace which means that the staff makes good time out of working hours. But can we see the great view of the terrace? Hell no! Unfortunately the door is locked to the visitors. And you can see the rooms from the corridor, but no entrance and close glance. So you can only visit the corridors of the museum. Welcome to Turkish style museum visiting. By the way, just two floors, and only corridors, they are going to take your 5 Turkish fancy Liras. Come on guys, you won the Independence War at this building!

Do not hesitate. Great forest with an nice walking trak. Listen to the nature, water and birds sounds. Inhale clean air. Enjoy the waterfall and green senery. You deserve it.

A wonderful place to visit. Not for the elderly. Reaching the waterfalls requires around 15 minutes of walking but it's worth it.
Ghaith M — Google review
Easy to get to, there is food to eat that they sell below the waterfalls with table by and in the water so your feet can be wet and keep you cool. The temperature is much lower here so great place to get away from the heat. Another great thing about this place is it has Zip lines to use for just 40£. Was so fun my child really enjoyed it.

I had my day in Yalova Kent Ormanı Firstly when we arrived there they charged 10tl for car entrance. After that when went to see the waterfall and was a nice passage . You have to have an appropriate clothing specially shoes . After having our time we reach the waterfall had few pics then we went back and had a Turkish Coffee at "KONAK RESTAURANT" I have pictured the menu so that you'll have a clear and updated Idea About the menu and the prices. Last but not least we headed to exist took our car and back to Yalova city. The road was not that good so please bs careful while driving. Wish you the best and a journey full of adventure and happiness.

A very beautiful place but requires caution while walking around the waterfall bed as the rocks are slippery. Otherwise be ready to jump into the water.

Although Yalova is a small province in the Marmara Region, it has many beauties. Big Bottomless Lake, which is only one of these beauties; attracts visitors with its nature and unique landscapes. Bottomless Lake is a paradise hidden among lush trees. Let's take a closer look at the breathtaking beauty of Yalova, Büyük Dipsiz Lake.
