Blaundus is a city founded during the Hellenistic period. Located on the top of a hill, it is a pleasant place with a great view and a breeze. However, please be careful as the road is not paved for the last 2km. It is possible to learn more about Blaundus at the Usak Museum Exhibit.

They were trying to improve public access and entrance during our visit. Not too much to see but worthwhile if passing by and not time limited.

Amazing place I cannot explain my feelings when. I was there, There is magic from those Old stones just sit and close your eyes and try to match your soul with Old souls from there, try to image how the life was there in the Old time, how many people were there, and now you are part of that, one of them, I recommended and I will go back again for sure.

Not so many things to see compared to other places in this area but still views are impressive and worth a short stop!

So this is a little out of the way. But, if you are near by and have a spare hour, then take the drive to this 'live' archaeological site. The iconic gate and three monuments are the only things really standing, but information boards (English and Turkish) explain detail about this military city.

A great gem in the middle of an antique Ottoman outpost village. A relatively well-maintained house with beautiful miniatures and frescoes on its walls, nestled in a green courtyard. A fantastically visual and cuktural treat.

Nice place in very beautiful scenery. We visited this place in May for 5 days and it was cool, but not too cold, unless it rained. It's a beautiful place with rich nature, clean and well kept accommodation. It's a humble place that well worth the 180 tl price tag. Although it's an old place but amazingly well kept and clean. This was such a lovely place to visit. Lots of biblical and ancient history. It’s not as big as some other sites so you wouldn’t need as much time. I enjoyed visiting.

The City of Sardis. The capital of the Lydian empire of 200,000 inhabitants. Had the largest synagogue in Asia Minor and known for its elaborate Bath system and Gymnasium. A place you must see in turkey. This place in one of the seven churches mentioned in the bibile. The letter to the church in Sardis, warns its believers to Wake-up and take their walk with The Lord seriously.

Visited the ruins while on group tour with members of my church. We were amazed with the excavated ruins dating back to the Byzantine and Lydian eras. The gymnasium building and synagogue mosaics were definite highlights.

Fascinating museum with tonnes of history. Each piece has its own story. I believe the museum has been going for over 30 years now. Huge variety and everything is in such good condition for its age. Amazing to see a WW2 bomber wreck that landed in the Turkey sea.

I paid just over £9 for entry with student discount from UK and it was definitely worth it. Saw some cars I’ve never seen before, lots of cool steam engines, ICE engines, boats, planes, trains, trams, appliances, machines, models etc. You could easily spend half a day there it’s a huge place with so much to see

I visited the Rahmi Koç Museum yesterday and was truly amazed by the experience. Went here in a whim and was absolutely blown away, this place is far cooler than any technology museum I’ve been to in Europe and US. The collection is not necessarily comprehensive, e.g. any sort of modern tech is almost no represented, but it doesn’t matter because the objects in the exposition are so special and fascinating, there’s whole hangars dedicated to just pre-1930s cars, just classic Italian motorboats, Bosporus row boats, etc etc. A whole passenger ferry houses the toys collection. There are sizeable antique airplanes you can walk into (or through, in the case of one WWII wreck lifted from the bottom of the sea). An amphibious car. Whole gigantic engines from steam ships. Working (like actually physically running) models of workshops. All in a beautiful historical docks setting. In short, this is the best day out for anyone interested in tech, design or history. My tip would be to get there early, I didn’t feel like I had nearly enough time to see even half of it properly in the 2 hours I had before it closed for the day

They charge L500 each per return trip or L350 for a one way 3 minute ride. And that’s before paying to enter the Akropolis site. So we walked up (45 min) and down again through the additional places of interest for L0. You’re better to drive, walk or get a taxi.

There is a cable car which takes you to the Acropolis but upstairs you need to pay extra to see the museum. I honestly didnt go up. I stayed down and bonded with a local lady named Elif who was selling the most delicious wild honey so I bought two jars and we just talked.

If you have a car you're better off driving up, same views and you don't have to pay to park at the gondola and then also pay for the gondola itself. There isn't even a parking lot, what are you charging for?

Best way to go up. Buy the Aegean Museum Card is cheaper to visit all the sites Permagon, Red Basilica, Asklepion, Permagon Museum and mach more.

Explanations (in the English version) were rather bad, verging on the not understandable, with major mistakes (no Athens did not win the Peloponesian war !). The collection itself is also rather underwhelming, in part due to some of the best pieces being in Istanbul's archeological museum. I must however congratulate the personnel working there for their honesty, returning to me some money that had fallen from my pocket without me noticing it.

We went as part of a tour towards the end of January and the place was very quiet. It is a beautiful location, steeped in the history of being the first medical healing space in the Western world. We were accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide who explained everything to us. We were lucky to be the only 6 people there and had plenty of time to take a lot of uninterrupted photos. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful and very important archeological site that was once one of the first Asclepeions ever and one of the most important as well, which were the first form of modern-day hospitals. I highly recommend visiting it if you’re in Izmir or its surroundings. (Pics are from July 2021)

Cute restaurant with reasonable prices next to or overlooking the waterfall. Plenty of parking. Restrooms in the restaurant. We came in with a large group in a minibus and there was no problem parking. Entrance fee for the minibus was 50TL. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed with people, but it really wasn't a problem. Possibly more enjoyable on a weekday. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility problems. We had 2, 8 year olds, a 6 year old and our friend brought their 9 month old. Not stroller friendly but we were all able to make it to the first and second waterfalls. Although it was slow going. We enjoyed our time very much. I would recommend it to all nature lovers who are looking for a calm day out in nature.

Pointless to go. 10tl carpark which can get refunded if spend 30tl on food. Dangerous and steep steps down. Muddy wet slippery. Go only to take a photo then finished. Food and drink in cafe not recommended.

Unfortunately all the sightseeing was closed due to a fire and you could only go to the camping. So we didn't energije the park. Nice area anyway, you see some old villages

We got all the way there, but they wouldn't let us in without paying for a guide that didn't speak English! Only the Turkish citizens can enter without a guide as if they can't get lost in the park without a guide. I refused to pay for a guide, just to go on a simple walk. Very disappointed. Be aware of this rule if you plan to go there.

You should really take seriously foreign tourists and provide information in english. We paid the entrance fee, noone could speak english to inform us about anything and finally there was nothing that we could do inside the park. If we wanted to proceed we should pay about 1000 tl extra, to a guide that could hardly say two words in english to communicate. We decided to walk in the forest for a while but then a car came with two persons, employees of the park I guess, that were quite angry; they tried to explain to us that we should leave because hiking/walking is not allowed during the fire season. (In the meantime people are lighting fires for barbecue all over the mountain!!!). Anyway, this is a respectable rule but really, we should be able to know it in advance, before we pay for the entrance. Please put signs in english!

Really amazing place. Numerous places for camping, picnic or just chilling in the cold water among trees. The breeze and bug noises makes it even better. Only catch is really hard to arrive, roads are mostly dirt.

Kazdağları is lucky part of the nature that is not ruined by concrete city life. I was astonished to see the power of baby pine trees that is growing out of the rocks. I listened out the nature for minutes in silence there was no sounds of cars but just naughty insects chanting away. Despite the fear of concrete monster capturing this beautiful nature a sensible,controlled investment needed to improve roads and some service areas.

Really nice beach🙌🏻 Public areas and private too with different kind of services. You can find a lot of local food on the beach and boats are coming to cook sardines and make sandwiches directly on the shoreline🙌🏻 The private beaches are a bit expensive compared with the normal price in Turkey, the ask 250 Lira…but the normal prices around Ayvalik are 100. Same for the food…better to buy it directly on the beach than in the restaurants around where the quality is low and the prices quite high.

Long and wide beach with lots of bars and restaurants. Have toilets. Water is very cold. Sand is full of cigarettes and broken beer bottles.

Good enough beach. The sand is a bit rocky at the shoreline (not the beach itself) but once you get past the first few meters it's just sand in the sea. As expected, the water was a bit too cold when we were there. Also, if you want to swim, the water doesn't get too deep so there's not much space to actually swim between where it starts to get deep and where you're not really allowed to swim towards.

It used to be such a nice beautiful beach ⛱️ Now there are now shower, no changing rooms, nothing. A lot of endemic flowers were ruined. I think it's going to be a huge parking lot and a narrow beach line where you would have to pay a lot of money!

A wide and very long sandy beach. Fairly clean for such a big place. The water is brilliantly clear. Not deep, in fact maybe too shallow. Very good for families especially with young children. Food is rather expensive. A bottle of beer is 30 liras (it used to be 20 liras in 2020), a box (hamburger size box) of chips is 15 liras. This was the first day we went there. The second day, which was a Saturday chips in a smaller box became 20 liras and for a bottle of same size and brand beer we were asked for 35 liras. So, be careful with prices. Apparently prices goes up on weekends. By the way, the cost for an umbrella and two bunks at present is 60 liras for a day. It is said that the Municipality is to start charging for the car park as of July 15 and it will cost 15 liras.

I would consider this beach perfect for families with children if not a couple of downsides. The water is clear but cold, and you might catch occasional plastic bag or fruit tray passing by. The beach would be a perfect spot to play for kids but I've never seen that many cigarette butts in the sand! Simply disgusting. İf you're fine with the above than the beach is okay. You can also find a few activities provided (at extra cost of course).

Interesting details about Turkish shamanism, a few stuffed animals including an almost 2m long sea turtle, antiquities given by locals are some valuable points to talk. The beach itself is magnificent. The stones beneath were slightly mossy but they weren't slippery at all. When there weren't stones it was mostly sand. I should note that it was still extremely cold even though we went slightly after noon when it was more than 40 degrees C. However I would DEFINITELY not recommend going here within the next several months. It has extremely serious fly issues. There were flies all around and they bite NONSTOP. We were sitting there for like 3 minutes and already 5-6 flies had bit us. When we were going to the beach some people warned us "there are a lot of flies near the stone mines, please don't go there" and we dismissed it as we were going reasonably far away from the stone mines. But nope. They were everywhere, even in the middle of the sea. We literally had to run to our cars and they followed us into the cars. I'm not even exaggerating. I only went in the outside pool. The water was very hot but soothing, although I did have to take breaks and get out once in a while because I felt like I was sweating. We opted for the indoor thermal baths which are private and then some time lounging on the terrace before lunch. The view and the infinity pool is fabulous. We stayed at a studio room with spacious two bedrooms and a balcony with a fantastic view. The room was equipped with all kinds of appliances, great for long stays and families. The breakfast and food menu is quite diverse and affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the bathroom of the super large room which was tiny and shower door was broken. But overall a minute detail and this place is absolutely worth the price.
