Played Sunday 18th May 2025 Mixed opinions of this as an experience. One thing is clear, this course has huge potential, and maybe once upon a time was in much better shape. New owners need to spend a couple of seasons investing. No club house as others have mentioned. Burnt down Tent in place to store buggies. Snacks soft drinks and beer from a temporary unit put in place. Reception in a temporary unit. Toilets 1 male and female plumbed temp unit in place. Service 4 star Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Was given a snack bag with Apple, Oat bar and bottle of water for the round. Kept our luggage and travel bags safe in reception hut with them as we played our last round before heading to airport. Tee boxes 3.5 star Mixed. Some in good shape, others not. Nothing was terrible, but remember this was €190 with shared buggy. Fairways 3 star. Poor and patchy in areas, not good enough for the price. Again nothing horrific. Greens 4.5 star Played true, in good shape. Likely around 10 speed. Free pitch repairers given out to assist help maintain. Cart paths. 1 star Shocking, cobbled cart paths. Place you head covers back on after each shot! All need digging up and doing again. Views 5 star Likely how this course made its name! Stunning as you move around the coastal holes. Overall, we got around in about 4h30 mins. I'm glad to say that I have played this. I would say, for €230 or so, the 40 extra it would have cost to play QDL north or south, would suggest this is overpriced. €150 for buggy and round per person would be a fair algarve golf price. With Vila Sol costing €120 PP with buggy, similar course condition played the day before, without the views, 150 would be fairer. 4 star overall, beautiful views, great greens, really narrow and open to make you think hole to hole, with a lovely 18th hole over water to finish and good service.

What a great layout and a fabulous experience. Tee boxes and fairways are a little scrappy but this is normal for late summer. The greens were OK. Very spongy and a little slow but again, this is normal for the summer. The course is surrounded by amazing houses, beautiful views and a picturesque landscape. The course is not what it used to be 20 years ago but still a great test. I hope that additional investment will go into the course to improve the detailing of the course (greens, fringes, bunkers etc....) and then I can give a 5 star rating. Service was perfect, very kind employees during check in and the lads managing the carts were extremely polite and kind. I will be back. San Lorenzo :)

Despite there being no clubhouse (burned down), I had a memorable experience. The course is in great condition with many memorable holes. Would definitely book this again. Thanks for the lunch provided in the brown paper bag.

Golf at San Lorenzo Golf Course is a beautiful and challenging experience, love the finishing 18th An unforgettable round of golf. Very friendly welcome by all the staff members special thanks to Alex.

Despite everything I've read and the sad fire that destroyed the clubhouse, the course remains one of the most natural, beautiful pieces of land you'll find. Sure the buildings around it are getting bigger and more Bond every visit but the golf, layout and the people make it very special.

Had a great game of golf here. It's not a hugely long course but most holes require a level of thinking on your tee shot and also second shots. The greens were quick and rolling very true, yet soft when hitting into from a distance. Has some very good views and water holes as well as very nice homes dotted around the course.

Played twice and enjoyed course. Some tricky narrow holes which were hard for the mid 20 handicappers. Lost a fair number of balls. Nice holes by coast. Would play again for sure. Course not in great condition but ok. 3 star as no one mentioned when booking that club house burned down two years ago and new club house is likely to be another two years Operating out of a porta cabin and porta loos. Not quite what you expect. Arranged pick up and hour and a half after playing as like to sit and have a beer. Basically sit on a bit of scrap land on basic seats with beers from cabin. Staff fine. But don't expect any facilities to change or food which is part of the experience. Definitely should be informed when book

The resort and grounds are very beautiful but our room had an ant infestation. There were ants everywhere, I also woke up in spots itching. Also, to use the gym it’s €30 per day! Most of the entertainment was cancelled. All swimming pools closed in April. The spa was very basic and the indoor pool was very dirty.

Beautiful resort, however 3-star because the service overall wasn’t great. The cleaning of the villa was non existent, very basic change of bedsheets and towels. The report is huge, so the walk to the beach is 30 minutes, this is not visible on the website when booking.

There was 16 of us staying in 4 houses on site and all had a great time. The houses were a long way from golf clubhouse so the shuttle service was used frequently. Clubhouse snack food that i had was good. Staff & service was excellent. Golf courses were in superb condition. We had the power cut that all of Portugal and Spain had and the staff coped very well under immense pressure. Would recommend a hire car to get to travel away from resort

Poor value for a supposed 5 star resort. Does not include any of the amenities of the resort and will cost extra such as gym, spa, beach lounger, drinks, restaurants and other amenities. All you get is an average 2 star room. Very little value to staying here unless you are a property owner. 42 euro rental fee for a beach chair! 33 euro gym drop-in fee for an average gym. Spa cost is similar and is in poor repair. Restaurants are over priced and are average at best. The only redeemable quality this resort has are the grounds are beautiful and location close to the beach although u will need a car to get. Bonus..... you have to pay for parking when at the beach.

Our fourth stay at Vale do Lobo was a disaster. We were wrongly accused of damaging a marble table and charged over €1,100 without any evidence. They refused to investigate or provide proof and then withheld our €500 cash deposit, despite promising it would be refunded. We submitted a formal complaint — which was ignored. No empathy, no accountability, and shocking treatment from staff. We had to leave early during Easter week with four upset children, and we’re still out of pocket with no documentation or apology. This is not how any resort should treat its guests. If you choose to stay, be aware that if anything goes wrong, you're completely on your own.

Hotel was beautiful but staff were so rude to us, especially evo. Terrible bar service at the pool, we would never come back. Showers in the changing rooms were broken, no soap in the showers and bathrooms and we didn’t get greeted very nicely when we arrived. We came here for a treat and we were really disappointed.

This is a beautiful resort but unfortunately have been taking by tacky tourism ,over price terrible food and bad service.It doesn't have anything to do with Portugal.

Fantastic experience with all at buggy&bike. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a great off road ride. 3 buggys for 6 people. The route is beautiful and well worth the visit. You can make breaks and rest a little. Half way there is a lovely stop in a little village for a refreshing drink. The couple there were also so friendly and welcoming. I recommend wearing cloths you are happy to have mud / dust settle in, hence the masks. Masks, hair nets, goggles and helmets are provided. Definitely worth the visit.

Amazing experience on the dirt bikes. Alex the guide was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would HIGHLY recommend this company if you’re looking for a great days off road biking.

Tried to book on for the 1100cc buggy but got told they wasn't available, so I asked for the 500cc for a full day and again got told the full day wasn't available. So I settled for the slowest 500cc quads over the buggy which was woefully slow, really struggled to get up most of the hills and wouldn't go over 50kph. Upon arrival, we paid the €150 for the 3 hour tour, (which ended up being 2 hours 40 mins) and an extra €50 for the transfers (about 15 mile each way). Then immediately after paying that I got my credit card taken off me and got made to pay an extra €300 deposit for potential damages to the buggy/quad of which we knew nothing about before hand. The tour itself was lovely, great views etc, but they didn't like you going fast or pushing the buggy/quads anywhere near their limits. So if you want a very casual trip around some of the alvarge I'd recommend this, if you're an adrenaline junkie or thrill seeker, this is not for you.

All in all we had a nice 3 hours bike tour, but in comparison to a tour on fuerteventura last year: some more help and instructions would have been nice! A helping hand dressing up when you don't know how to handle the protectors, and especially how to ride the bike the enduro way. I had to ask for some back protection. The guide just showed us the way, driving in front of us, not looking how we were doing. My english is not very good but he barely understood anything of what I was asking him. We did not ride KTM or Husqvarna but AsianWing which I did not know. It was okay though. I had a free pick up at the hotel which was nice and the email contact was very friendly. The trails were stunning and for a medium tour well chosen. Thanks for the adventure.

Great adventure, well worth the money! Buggys were in good condition and the views once you got up the hills were amazing! The tracks were good and fun to drive. We did come off one of the tracks which was a little scary but we did get the buggy back on within 5-10 minutes or so. Would do this again if we ever go back.

FANTASTIC,,,, is a word I rarely use, But the whole experience was fantastic, Alex our tour guide was really helpful and friendly I did the half day with my daughter who is 12yrs, on the quads in late August, it was a little expensive but you get a lot for your money, with a little break at a farm and then a swim in the lake later, would highly recommend it, top marks , tip where clothes you don't mine getting dirty

Very nice people at Hugo's, unfortunately my quad was badly maintained. Mirrors broken and duct taped on, no braking liquid in rear circuit so no rear brakes ... tour was nice but very calm. Drink stop was exceptionally closed... swim in the lake would be even better without leaches... next tim better...

What a great trip! We went on the 2 hour quad bike tour and loved it. 2 of our group had never been on a quad bike before hence the shorter tour. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived and the whole place had a relaxed atmosphere. Questions were welcomed and any concerns were quickly addressed. The tour itself is guided by a very knowledgeable guide who leads the way through a maze of tracks that would have the rest of us lost in minutes. He was happy to stop on request to take photos or break for water but also happy to keep riding too. The scenery was unbelievable! one minute you are on top of a cliff with views over the land and next surrounded by trees in the woods. If I could offer any advice to people looking at this tour it would be to take the longer tour as the time passes so quickly once you are out. We would have easily managed the 3 hour tour. I can't praise Hugo's quad adventure enough and we will certainly be doing it again.

The beginner's trip was nice, nothing special, and the couple were very nice, but they were also 40 minutes late to our appointment and refused to give us any reimbursement nor take responsibility for this.

Very nice tours, but they don't allow over-taking or any sudden accelerating and breaking... health and safety reasons, but does take the fun out of it a little bit.

Brilliant experience, lovely people, definitely worth going for the 3 hour tour to get a dip in the freshwater lake!

It's truly gorgeous in this area, that established Natural Park status in 1995. Lots of birdwatching g and of tpu are lucky you may catch a glimpse of the Iberian Lynx. Don't miss visits to Mertola (keeping everything crossed it gers official UNESCO world heritage recognition), Pula do lobo and Praia Fluvial de Mina de São Domingos if you want to cool off in the summer heat.

Lovely place, nice a quiet in April no one else around down by the water. Don't let the colour of the water put you off, its actually clear when you get down to it.

No one has described about how to enter the hiking trails, we started a bit, however there were no clear instructions about valley and hiking trails.

What a beautiful place to walk! But in Summer it's too hot! More than 35 degrees Celsius. Last time I was there in April 12, 2017 the temperature was 31,5 degrees Celsius... I need to drink some water!

Very good every level paths/tracks, amazing and still quite a few almost untouched areas, wonderful place for birdwatching lovers, beautiful landscape, friendly people, great food, and so much more.

We were centred at Mértola,, a lovely town with ancient castle with it's original history dating back to 314 BC, churches through the ages, many hills and walks and we'll tended islands and flowers. Running alongside town is the beautiful Guadiana River, with kayaking and boat trips and a couple of excellent hotels overlooking it.

Amazing, must visit. The drive up the mountain top is worth it by it self. If you drive slowly enough there is lots of balconies/road sides to stop and admire the views. When visiting the mountain in May there was hardly any people. Made a friend with a local dog who visits the mountain from close by farm/house.

A great walk to the summit - but the summit itself is deeply scarred by all the ugly towers. It’s quite awful at the top and we could let get away from it fast enough.

Fóia is a superbeautiful place to visit! It is the place from which you can see almost over all the Algarve. You can see west and southcoast coming together, you can see almost all coast cities and being there with having that view is just breath taking but also breath giving! The ride up there is fun, with decent to good roads, miradouro just below the top and a good parking area on top! On weekdays dyring the day its not crowded, but it can be in weekends. There is also a café and an Artisenal store next to the parking lot. Quite enjoyable too! Make sure you are daring to drive up to the mountain, if comming from the NL and you have never driven hills or mountains it can be quite a challenge, just make sure you dont try to shift up gears to quickly. I never had problems with it but i have seen people struggling with their cars or even (camper) vans.

This is really an amazing view. You can see both the west and south coast and get a great view over the whole area. We were there in august and the temperature was really nice and not cold so no need to dress up during summer.

Great beach for surfing or just dipping your toes in the sea. A welcome breeze makes the Atlantic Coast of Portugal a desirable destination when temperatures are in the mid 30's.

Great beach. No sunloungers, has lifeguards, disabled facilities, toilets, restaurants nearby and surf hire. Can be very busy with parking an issue. That being said plenty of parking on the roads leading to and from the beach and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out there towels and umbrellas.

Stunning! Not really one beach, but a whole section of coastline at low tide, amazing interesting geological rock formations to fish from, backed by soaring cliffs. Beautiful sand and lots of surfing hire etc in the tiny village which backs the beach. Some good cafes etc You can't really go wrong here for a beach day out!!!

One of our favorite local beaches! In the low season it is great for taking the dogs for a walk along the beach. It is also family friendly and easy to get to by car.

As others have said, a beautiful beach with the sea on one side and a river on the other. Went today in the height of summer and, whilst it was very busy, it didn't feel over crowded as the beach is so big. However, we were there at low tide so much more beach space than when at high tide. To the north there are rock pools with creatures to find - beach shoes would be very helpful as the layers of rock are hard on your feet. The only negative is the lack of shade. You can hire a fixed umbrella and two sunbeds for €20 for the day or €15 for half a day. Apart from this the beach is completely exposed and everyone brings their own parasols. Because of this we stayed for less time than we would have liked. Otherwise it's a gorgeous beach with a wonderful combination of the safety of the river for children to play in and bigger waves on the beach for body boarders and surfers. Life guards are also present. Before walking down onto the beach (which is quite steep and therefore not great for anyone with mobility issues) there are restaurants/shops to get drinks, food and usual items including sun cream. Be warned though, parking is hard work and limited. If there are spaces on the roadside before the road drops down to the beach then definitely grab one. Would absolutely return to this beautiful place.

One of the most beautiful and magical beaches I’ve seen so far! During low tide, you can see the river flowing into the ocean and on the other side explore the little cove next to the nudist beach. We went during June so the beach was rather quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful praia. Toilets and bars are available. Kind of cheap board rentals for perfect surfer waves. Very shallow water so you can stroll conveniently into the sea.

This beach is absolutely stunning. There's a side to the river that is calm and perfect for swimming and chilling out. Then there's the ocean side which is wilder with lots of surfers and waves crashing in. We went there while walking the "Odeceixe to the sea" circular route of Rota Vicentina.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However waves are big, which is great for surfing (even in the winter) but can be hard for swimming. The river and sea meet which is a beautiful thing to see.

This beach is quite unique. It is very large to begin with. Then the Seixe River ends right the at the beach. Can it become any better than this? There quite a few people walking their dogs, must be really fun for all of them. The nearby village is within a walking distance. Best beach I’ve visited so far.

Very well kept building with much art and sculpture inside. Entry is very cheap.

The old church here has an impressive interior, but the rest of the exhibits in the museum tend to be dark and gloomy. None of the information boards have English translations, so much of the explanatory information is lost to non-Portuguese speakers. That said, the entrance fee is very cheap and includes the entrance to another museum.

A beautiful and interesting place to visit - the sad but romantic story of Sister Mariana whose love letters to a French young man named Noel Barton, Chamilly's Marquis were discovered after her death. These letters were world renowned. The church is very intricately carved with much gold leaf used. I enjoyed an excellent salad to finish off the day .

A small regional museum housed in an old convent of Our Lady of the Conception. It is worth a visit, especially if you like late Gotic and Baroque architecture as well as tiles - there are beautiful azulejos everywhere, both blue and white (sometimes also yellow) in the Baroque style and also some late Gothic Moorish looking azulejos. Housing a beautiful marble head of Julius Caesar as well, one of the few made when he was still alive. Friendly staff and hopefully they'll be able to make renovations of the building soon enough, the place deserves some decent care and restoration.

Convent is actually a Pousada Hotel. But you can explore the convent's massive rooms by just walking in. Lovely calm impressive building. Good as a hotel too with good swimming pool.

Beja Castle is a remarkable slice of Portuguese history, beautifully preserved in the Alentejo region. Unique castle and fun to explore. Little art gallery but nothing else here, not really a museum and a few plaques about the structure. Definitely worth a visit if nearby but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit

Nice safari park with most animals given plenty of space. The 1hr safari ride at 4pm is a nice touch. Nicely laid out with animal shows every hour. The water rafting is great fun also. Could easily spend 3+ hours at the park. The safari could do with a bit more range of animals.

This is a park very well maintaned, with space for wild life, majority of animals are free. The staff is very friendly and explains everything. The place has well maintained bathrooms, and places to buy food or to sit down and eat food that has been taken from home. The extra experiences like lemur its totally worth it - they super cute, lovely and they jump on top of you while they explain about their ecosystem and how they behave.

(!)Shows, Safari, Rafting are scheduled. Restaurant prices: 10-15 EUR/menu (it's a normal price for this type of places in Portugal). The place looks like Tapada de Mafra and Lisboa Jardim Zoológico. Part of it is a zoo, and the other one is a Safari park, where animals are walking where they want, so not every time they come close to you - depends on the weather and their decision. It's not a Disney cartoon, it's a wild nature, even if it's organised by humans. The road is dusty and it's normal for this type of place. The Safari ride takes 45 min. How to get there? From Santiago by car - 7 min, by bike - 25 min, buses are rare, bus stops are not close to the park. To the owners of this business: you can add an online option "Safari taxi" for the visitors from Santiago, Grândola, Sines.

Fabulous day out for all the family! Highly recommend paying to see the Lemurs and for the water rapids, too! It's a very chilled atmosphere and wasn't too busy when we visited on a Monday in July.

Nice experience but I was expecting better organization. You have weird timing to follow for different activities and it becomes confusing. We just visited safari and also took lemur interaction which is a very cool experience. But pretty expensive hence you already pay for access. They do not allow to take pictures there with lemurs and doing photo - and then sell for €12 which makes it weird. They did 2 photos of wife and child and asked 12 per each… We missed other activities due to weird timing so I would rate overall experience as 3.5

Lots and Lots to see.It was great having over an hour and half to visit and learn about the various animals in the park ( not a Zoo). Safari was great and you forget you are in Portugal not in Africa. The Park soon becomes a Safari and Ranch with so many different bugger animals. My absolute highlight was getting within touching distance of the majestic Giraffes 🦒 that came round our transport just freely walking back & forth...truly Magical ✨️ The only thing I was dissapointed in was fact none of the talks, tours etc were in English and was told quite abruptly...only in Portugese! I am entry level 1 but surely you need consider some visitors come from across the World to support the park ?

The overall experience did not fully align with pre-visit expectations. Although the park offers a sizable area, the observed animal population appeared somewhat restricted. The associated costs for a family of four presented a perceived premium. It is acknowledged that the upkeep of the park and the care of the animals necessitate substantial financial investment. The primary area of concern centered on the safari ride, which was conducted exclusively in Portuguese. Despite communicating a preference for English, the tour proceeded without accommodating this request. This required the continuous use of a mobile translation device during the ride. Furthermore, all scheduled shows were presented in Portuguese; therefore, visitors should be prepared for this.

A fascinating and eerie place in the heart of Évora! The Chapel of Bones is covered with thousands of real human bones and skulls — built by monks in the 16th century to remind people that life is short. It’s both spooky and beautiful at the same time. Definitely a must-see when visiting

The chapel lined with bones is a truly unique experience that makes you reflect on the transience of everything. So many lives lived, so many stories that will never be told... The nativity museum is really interesting too, especially seeing how it was interpreted by different cultures. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Three stars is mainly due to the comparison with another bone chapel in Czech Republic! Sedlec Ossuary Kostnice Sedlec in Kutná Hora is way more unique, and much more interesting! So it’s a bit disappointed for me. Travel 2hrs from Lisbon to here just to see this places that I’ve always wanted to visited. The main church is amazing as other churches. The bone chapel sure has LOTS of bones, but it was simply piled on top of others. I was fortunate to visit Sedlec Ossuary Kostnice Sedlec and the bone chapel was way more beautiful decorated even though it was a much smaller church. This chapel is definitely not worth the trip if you had been to Sedlec Ossuary Kostnice Sedlec!

I think it's a bit expensive for what it is. It's small, but really a unique chapel. The chapel is super crowded. Wasn't really interested in the Nativity Scene museum; the Chapel is what's up. I had Black Sabbath playing in my ear buds which was perfect so if you're a fan of metal or goth, this is for you.

Very interesting ossuary. I paid in cash based on what is in other reviews to avoid frustration. 6 euro entry seemed a little much considering how small it is, but it's a tourist attraction so. The use of the bones is very interesting and used in nice patterns.

Spooky? It’s a place to visit, if you’re in town. The history behind and its fast visit not boring, and you can see also Nativity scenes from all around the world showcasing different art styles which were lovely to see.

This is a great place to see. It's not very big. Maybe take a few minutes there but you can stay as long as you want. Along with visiting the chapel, there is also 2 floor level to visit including a balcony that you can look out on the small square center. If you park in the square, parking fee is required with a max of 4 hrs. If you park outside the square, no fee for parking. After visiting the chapel, the church is connected right beside it. You can visit, no cost. Not much in Evora to do, however you can make it a day trip just by walking around and exploring. Lots of unique streets to explore. Restaurants are great and lots of places to buy souvenirs

The hotel grounds are really beautiful and peaceful. The pool area and common spaces look great and the food is very good. The staff is also amazing. Everyone we met was kind, helpful, and friendly. But the rooms were a big disappointment. Ours was small and plain, with almost no decoration. It looked more like a small New York apartment or a basic Marriott room than what you’d expect from a hotel this expensive. The linens felt like the kind you might buy on Amazon, not soft or special. For how much the hotel costs, the rooms should be much nicer. Also, the beach is a 10-minute shuttle ride away, which we knew, but the shuttle only leaves once an hour. This is a beach town and most people go to the beach during the day, so it doesn’t make sense. If you miss the shuttle, you have to wait another hour, which is not what you’d expect at a hotel like this. The setting is beautiful and the staff is wonderful, but the rooms and beach access really took away from the overall experience.

A beautiful retreat to relax and enjoy quality service and food with a beautiful beach in nearby Comporta. The two beach clubs, JNCQuoi and Sublime, are also upscale and wonderful. It seems like the surf is not as rough in Comporta, however. FYI. (The two beach clubs are fantastic and definitely worth visiting though). I had two fantastic massages in the spa. Thank you, Joana and Katia- I feel so much better and really enjoyed meeting both of you; you’re top-notch!

Wow! What a fantastic combination of luxury and casual relaxation. Our room was lovely with a biopool just outside the patio door and a modern bathroom and welcoming layout. Everyone I came into contact with on this property was kind and genuine. We attended a cooking class which was a lot of fun. Having stayed for several nights I left feeling refreshed and relaxed. The spa treatments were top notch and the grounds were impeccably maintained. I hope to stay at this and other Sublime locations for years to come. Thanks for such an incredible experience.

Absolutely loved our visit here! Felt like I was staying at a resort that White Lotus would film at. Stayed in room 8 which I feel is a great location to the gym, spa and main restaurant. Breakfast is fabulous and nice that it is included. Had dinner one night and had the Sole for two - 10/10. Service at this hotel is outstanding. My only complaint which is minor, better lighting at night when walking back to your room. Highly recommend this beautiful resort.

The location and grounds are beautifully kept. Sadly the quality of the experience makes it hard for me to recommend this location to any of my American friends in search of a place to unwind in luxurious stillness. 🚨 Most alarming: I found the staff to be quite dishonest about the services we were interested in. We were even charged a fee for something that was phrased as complimentary when offered. When I explained my confusion given the wording, management was unmoved and offered no concession for the miscommunication. It was a bit disappointing to say the least. For anyone hung up on Sublime, we have been shopping around for wedding venues so I will edit this post with my top recommendations in the coming months 💕

Amazing place for families! We loved our stay at Sublime Comporta. Such a beautiful and peaceful place, surrounded by nature. We played padel, had an amazing spa treatment, and spent time at the beach club — perfect for long lunches and sunsets. The staff were super friendly and made everything easy. A really special spot for a family getaway.

Loved it here. It was definitely worth the drive on the rough road to get here. Loved the energy. Such a cool space that many wouldn’t enjoy but big energy space and a lot of history.

We visited this site: the walk is quite long since it’s best to leave the car at a distance. The road to get there is in very poor condition, so you really need to drive slowly to avoid damaging the car. The archaeological site itself is nice – there’s nothing around it, but it’s still an interesting place to visit.

From the top car park its only a short walk. A much much longer walk from the other lay by area. Easy to misunderstand which one your going to look at due to the poor information. The stones themselves definitely need more information to tell the story behind it. The road up on small dirt bikes was excellent fun but cars need to take it steady.

Great piece of history! The drive is tricky though. You will need a decent car there are a lot of potholes! Worth the visit though!

Stones from 5,000 B.C. It's a climb up a very narrow bumpy road from the interpretive center, biking it was probably easier than driving. The stones are amazing and there are views across the plains all the way to Evora in the distance.

You can access to this mystic place by car , of course the road is not a good one but with cautious driving you will get there. I call it a Portuguese Stonehenge , I believe it is worth a visit . There’s free parking lot and lots of cork fields .

We had a low rental car and the road actually was blocked off maybe 2.5 kms before, because it was washed out. We walked to it and it was beautiful through a cork farm. Use a compass to see the alignments of the rocks that mark the cardinal points and solstices. Super cool and older than Stonehenge based on the soil samples and relics buried there. Can see some of the carvings in the rocks. It’s free to view.

Used to be almost empty 3 years ago. Thanks to the restaurant now it’s really crowded. Lot’s of families, screaming kids, noisy adulta… There are many other beaches were you can find peace and noiseless moments to relax.

Only for the posh!! Don’t come here unless you are posh and have a “heavy wallet”. Also you can’t park a small van in the parking next to the beach. Hilarious. Fortunately you can still find nice beaches not flooded by the rich where you don’t have to put your towel far away from them not to ruin their expensive view.

Very nice beach. Went there in one of those summer months and could still find a good spot, not crowded. In terms of parking, it's hard to find a good free place nearby, but there is a parking lot paid but cheap (around 2 euros for the whole day). Water is cold, the sand is very soft and clear.

The water is freezing and the sand scorching. It could have better infrastructure with more hammocks and sunshades. It was 41 degrees today which is unbearable for most people. On the good side, it has a beautiful deck leading to the beach and the marine is beautiful.

Have died and gone to heaven. Was introduced to Troia by a tour guide when we visited the National Park Arrabida and I knew straight away Troia was where I was going to stay for my last 3 days in Portugal. The Troia Peninsula is very similar to the Whitsundays in Australia. The sand is soft and white, and being a sand snob I would rate it 9/10 and especially so when low tide you can walk across the vast sand banks out to the Atlantic. No seaweed and the water is calm, although freezing/refreshing. Troia sand, views and waters beat Albufeira, Carvoeiro - the Algarve in general by a long shot! It is even better than Cascais but equivalent to natural beauty Adraga. Adraga has waves for those wave catchers. Renting a shared lounge is expensive, €25 for the entire day. Well worth travelling out here, off the beaten track! Lifeguards are at every beach around Troia and they even help kids in wheelchairs to get from the boardwalk to the beach! Great service Troia Rescue. How to get here / heaven: 1) Bolt/Uber from Lisbon to Setubal wharf (Atlantic ferry) = €25-35 and can take 45-60mins. Train is about €10. 2) Passenger Return ferry or speed boat is €9-10 leaving every hour during weekdays and almost every 30mins on weekends. They allow dogs on the ferry! 3) There is also the option of driving your vehicle over via Atlantic Ferry as well. 4) Troia itself is quite small so you can walk everywhere with well designated footpaths and boardwalks. The supermarket is pretty good, has almost everything including roast chicken. Portuguese people are friendly and it felt safe

Crystal clear water, easy to reach by Ferry from Setubal Atlantic ferries station that has a trip every hour. And then walk for 10 mins. There’s a small bar that has Beer, water, Cola, …etc close to the beach. There are Chaseloungs and Umbrellas. No shower rooms, only WC

Alternatively, you can take the passenger-only catamaran, which is slightly faster and perfect if you’re not bringing a car. Once you arrive, the beach is easy to access on foot or by bike. Some areas are completely wild, so it's a good idea to bring water, food, and everything you need for a relaxing day by the sea.

Incredible beach— can’t say enough good things about it! My family and I absolutely adore it. We’ve been staying in Setúbal for the past week, and we’ve been visiting this beach almost every day. The beach takes a bit of work to get to, but it’s absolutely worth it. The ferry from Setúbal to Tróia is €26.40 for 3 people. It’s a 12-15 minute ride, and it’s a lovely experience. The views are gorgeous, and I’d recommend taking the 7:30 pm ferry back to Setúbal to catch the sunset. Once you arrive on the peninsula, you walk about 20-25 minutes along a wooden boardwalk to reach the beach. It’s a picturesque walk, and you get to pass a outdoor cat colony. The cats are so sweet, and they appear to be cared for by the locals. The beach is magnificent. There was a warm breeze every day we were there, which kept the flies away. The sand is so soft and sparkly and not too hot. For context, we are visiting in late September. The water is cold, but you can definitely acclimate. It’s so blue, clear, and clean. At low tide, there are amazing sand bars, and you can walk pretty far out. I was also able to collect some gorgeous shells. Finally, there are ample trash cans and a clean bathroom. This beach as everything I want in a beach. I truly adore it.

This open air fish and produce market (primarily) was an amazing experience. It was a definite example of sustainable living.

Excellent market with huge variety of fish & crustaceans as well as fruits & vegetables, meats, breads and cakes. Highly recommended for a lively experience of a market appreciated not only by tourists but more importantly by local residents.

Absolutely one of the best markets to visit. Incredible fresh fruit and vegetables, plus the the most fresh fishery to buy anything you desire. You can also enjoy some fresh oysters and drink wine while at the market.

I love a good open-air market, and while visiting Setúbal I stopped by to walk around theirs. It’s a large, lively market filled with local vegetables, organic products, butchers, fisheries, and a few restaurants tucked along the sides. It’s vibrant, full of color, and one of the best places to immerse yourself in fresh local produce and meet warm, friendly people. Definitely worth a visit — and you can’t miss the big pink building. Hard to miss!

55 mins drive from lisbon. One of the best beach with sooo clear water and also the day i went were less waves, felt like swimming pool. It gets very busy though sk recommend going early And parking is on streets if you got lucky or nearby in a hotel parking uptown floor 7, which is costly I paid 10€ for around 4 hrs

Good beach. Hotel could do some cleaning of the litter that gets washed up on shore but otherwise it's easy to get to and relatively quiet.

Calm waters, really beautiful but usually very full... It has all the amenities you need, it's fairly easy to park either in the hotel park or the outside park behind it. You can always get a space in one of the concessions but if you don't want that just keep walking until you reach the end of the beach, you'll usually find a spot there.

One of my favorite beaches in Lisbon area, beautiful views, good infrastructure in the season (out of season unfortunately public toilet is closed, the same with beach bars, but there is plenty of bars and restaurants nearby).

It is an amazing place, really touristic, different shops and market for to buy any kind of food with good prices, I bought a cold cane of tea for only 85cent. The sea it is so clean and clear that even the water it is cold, looks like amazing for to swim in.

Just a lovely beach! We went early so it was not very crowded. There are many parking spots near the beach and if you want you can rent an umbrella. The water was just perfect and the beach was very clean. There are no showers so you should come prepared for that.

Good place for walking with geat views over the coast and inland. Most of the paths we have taken so far are reasonable but some of the mapped routes online need some updating. there are wild boar around but we didn't " bump" into any. uber is cheap here so you can either do circular routes or get an user back if you start finish on a road as we did.

Stunning views on the south side of Setúbal. This highway is one you want to swap drivers just so both people have a chance to look out into the ocean 😋. If you go in the evening it may be less busy.

Fantastic beach. Bit of a steep walk to get to the ocean but was manageable with a 2yr old. Shame the restaurants at the front had no simple food options and both are 100% not suitable for children. Really let the place down. Had to leave and go elsewhere for lunch and dinner.

It’s was awesome when you reach top of the mountain. You forget your tiredness. I love hiking so it’s was fantastic for me…!

Amazing views from all spots - Church, Lighthouse, the Dino cliffs. Because the last few minutes of the road getting there is kinda empty, there's a true 'edge of the x' feel to the place.

Awesome views of the ocean. Nearby there is a sanctuary, light house and some dinosaurs footprints. Due to its location it might get a little windy. There is free parking lot and some places where you can get a drink and some snacks

Beautiful views here...besides visiting the sanctuary or the Lagosteiros beach (very difficult access) don't miss the dinosaur footprints and tail tracks, not far away from there...try to visit on a clear not too windy day... Trekking around the Cape 😜 is definitely worth the effort of climbing up and down 😉. You will discover new amazing views with lots of history behind if you are in to it. Dinosaurs 🦕🦖🦖 set their tracks n footprints in this area over 150 million years ago... Still visible!!!

I visited Monte Selvagem today with my 2-year-old, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The animals are very well cared for, and their enclosures are spacious and impeccably clean. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the petting farm—such a wonderful hands-on experience, especially for little ones! The washrooms were clean, which is always a plus. However, if you're visiting with children, I highly recommend bringing your own snacks, as the bar had very limited to no food options. Also, keep in mind that the park is not stroller-friendly, so plan accordingly. Overall, Monte Selvagem is a must-visit for families and animal lovers alike. Highly recommended!

We loved it. It's a beautiful place to be in contact with nature. Plenty of picnic tables and playgrounds for the kids. The tree houses are amazing. We got to see different animals up close. A place to go back to. 💚

We love the Monte Selvagem Nature Park. Spent a golden autumn day Sunday on 2 November. The scenery around the park sometimes reminds me of the wild open spaces in Tasmania, or even in South Africa driving the roads to Hermanus or in wild reserves next to the Kruger. It has a lovely family feel, wildlife conservation. Kids learn a lot. So many picnic tables around and a little café for a tea, or even a meal if people need. Our daughter just turned 4 and loved it, we also came shen she was 2.5 yrs and loved it then too. Lovely countryside hangout. The playgrouds, bamboo labyrinth (like Arashiyama in Japan) are great fun too.

A wonderful place to spend half-day with kids. Well maintened with a nice selection of animals that, most import, look happy and well treated. There's plenty of wc, garbage bins, refreshing spots. In addition, there's playgrounds located in different parts of the park. Which helps a lot to entertain the kids. Finally, landscape is superb, resulting in plenty of beautiful and shadowed areas. Totally recommend it.

Nice park with charming petting zoo. Large animals in captivity is an unfortunate thing these days. Although out of the way for those without private transport, it's worthwhile making an effort to get there for a lovely day out.

What an awesome experience this was! Was there on a Tuesday afternoon and the crowds were light. Very easy to walk around and explore. (Although be warmed the steps are pretty steep and some have no handrails....careful! Worth a visit! Castelo de São Jorge is a stunning historical place with breathtaking views over Lisbon and the River. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and there are plenty of spots to take in panoramic views and photos. The audio guide added great context to the visit. Expect some walking and a few stairs, but it’s all part of the experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lisbon!

Castelo de São Jorge in Lisbon is worth a visit for the views alone. Sitting on a hill in the Alfama district, it gives you a clear line of sight across the city and the Tagus River. There is something about seeing the red rooftops stretch out below that makes it easy to understand why Lisbon feels so special. The castle itself is interesting, even if it is not the most polished attraction. Walking along the ramparts and towers, you can sense the layers of history that have shaped this place. Roman, Moorish, and medieval influences are all visible in the walls and fortifications. The layout is straightforward, but exploring the nooks and stairs gives a sense of how people lived and defended the city centuries ago. One of the unexpected highlights is the peacocks. They wander freely across the grounds and gardens, adding a bit of life and color to the stone and brick. It is a small detail, but it makes the visit feel a little more playful. If you are in Lisbon, give yourself an hour or two to explore. Wear comfortable shoes because the paths are cobbled, and take your time to enjoy the history, the views, and the peacocks. Castelo de São Jorge is real, atmospheric, and memorable.

Amazing view, beautiful ruins, well kept, lots of nature, spacious areas. Unfortunately, this is not all. Multiple areas, view points, terraces were closed off, 2 of the 3 toilets didn't work and it looked and smelled disgusting. For 15 euros I'd hope for better but it's whatever.. However, what's not whatever is the behaviour of the staff. At 5:40 they were aggressively shouting at us that the place is closed, get out. They waved in front of our photos. When we said that the place is not in fact closed and we want to enjoy these 15-20 minutes one of them even more aggressively shouted that "you don't argue with me about this". We were following the signs and wanted to go out through the archeological site (where the official exit was according to the signs) as that was in the end but when we got there they sent us back to the entrance (where it said entrance only). They didn't even tell us why we couldn't. The arrogance and ignorance was mind-blowing. We just wanted to enjoy that beautiful historic sight and the view until we could.

This castle is situated on one of the highest hills and offers stunning panoramic view of lisbon. You can walk over the castle and towers which was fun. The place is overall well maintained and worth a visit. The route to get to the castle is walkable but be aware of the steep path. We visited this place during sunset and it was absolutely lovely and highly recommend visiting around sunset time. No advance booking required and we got the ticket upon arrival.

One of the many, many highlights of Lisbon is this castle on a high hill. You can wander around the complex and enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful city. You can also visit an archeologic site with even older structures. The 'stairway to heaven' to a lower bastion of the castle shouldn't be missed. Early Sunday morning is a perfect time to avoid crowds.

The Museu dos Azulejos in Lisbon is a hidden gem. It beautifully showcases Portugal’s history and culture through an incredible collection of hand-crafted tiles. The museum also features stunning sacred art, and the building itself is unbelievably gorgeous — truly a work of art on its own. Don’t miss the large tile panel that depicts Lisbon before the Great Earthquake — it’s absolutely fascinating. I highly recommend visiting this museum; it’s one of the most unique and enriching experiences in the city.

I really enjoyed exploring the incredible collection of tiles, showcasing Portugal’s artistry through the centuries. The exhibits are well-organized with clear English explanations, and the building itself is stunning—especially the views from the upper floors. It’s peaceful, not crowded, and easy to walk through at your own pace. No wait to enter, and tickets can be bought right on site. Highly recommend spending a couple of hours here if you love history, art, or design!

A must to visit. The price of thd ticket is matching the spectacle you'll enjoy (I surely cannot say the same for other places in Lisbon). A church amazingly rich in decorations is an integral part of the museum. At the end of the visit you can enjoy the gigantic view of Lisbon reproduced on azulejo. Beautiful.

We were able to walk thru this at our own pace. Unfortunately, the audio tour didn't work. But the tiles were lovely and the building itself was truly beautiful! The chapels and sanctuaries were pretty astounding.

A fascinating museum that tells the story of Portugal’s famous azulejos — decorative tiles found all over the country. The collection is huge, with tiles from different centuries and styles, all beautifully displayed in a former convent. Don’t miss the panoramic Lisbon tile mural on the top floor.

FANTASTIC ! I was truly impressed by this unique and fantastic museum, which includes an integrated monastery and the beautiful Madre Deus Church. It’s an incredibly diverse and one-of-a-kind place, where you can discover ancient and extraordinary tile-making techniques that take you on a fascinating journey through history. The staff are very friendly and enjoy sharing the museum’s stories and anecdotes. The café offers delicious cakes, small bites, and excellent cappuccino, which you can enjoy in a wonderful patio filled with palm trees.

The oceanarium was definitely a highlight of our Lisbon trip; it wasn’t as straightforward to get to as other attractions, but I would recommend the journey nonetheless. From central, the best way is to get there via the Red Line on Underground Metro, it’s pretty quick and is only a short walk to the oceanarium - and you can take in the ocean view of the cable cars and exhibition stadium. We had booked a 10:30 slot, though we could go through earlier with our QR codes. We visited on a Thursday, but there was a significant presence of school outings at the time of our visit. Though it didn’t detract from our experience, I can imagine it could irk some people with less patience! The place is well thought out but rather dark as you traverse between the areas; the main tank in the middle is clearly the main attraction and there’s several viewing points both below and above for you to see. The biggest highlight for us was the Sun Fish or Mola Mola - such a majestic looking bony fish and not one we’ve seen before in any aquarium. Outside of this, there were the sea otters which were very cute! The other animals were rather standard fare if you’re used to aquariums, but the main tank is quite a sight for anybody! The gift shop was a bit of a letdown, without much choice of gifts and at quite a high price. Understandably, the whole shop’s wares are sustainable and environmentally friendly - however, if you’re looking for a sun fish plush to take home with you to remind you of your experience; your out of luck I’m afraid!

I really recommend every tourist to visit this Oceanarium! Don’t miss this experience — it’s super interesting and really big. The ticket isn’t expensive, and we spent about two hours inside — it was truly unforgettable! Such an amazing place full of beauty, peace, and wonder. You can feel so close to marine life and learn a lot while enjoying the incredible atmosphere. I honestly loved every minute of it and truly recommend it to everyone visiting Lisbon! 🌊🐠💙

The Lisbon Oceanarium is definitely one of the city’s highlights and worth a visit if you’re in town. It features a beautiful central tank and some very cute otters. That said, while it’s nice, I found it a bit overrated. It doesn’t quite compare to the top aquariums around the world. For example, Singapore’s was on la completely different level. A thing that kind of ruined my experience is how crowded it can get. I visited at the end of October on a Friday and even though they limit the number of visitors, the cap still feels too high. It was hard to relax or enjoy the exhibits because of the crowds. By contrast, I enjoyed the aquariums in Gran Canaria and Tenerife much more, I could relax a lot more and it felt more immersive. If you plan to go, I’d recommend visiting in the middle of the week, early in the morning or close to closing time for a better experience. There’s a lovely gift shop with lots of cute plushies, I got 3 otters :) Overall, I do recommend it but just make sure to choose your visit time wisely.

The Oceanário de Lisboa is absolutely amazing! It’s one of the most beautiful and well-designed aquariums I’ve ever visited. The central tank is breathtaking — filled with graceful rays, sharks, and countless colorful fish swimming in harmony. The themed areas around it transport you to different ocean habitats, each beautifully presented and educational. Everything is spotless and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and informative. It’s a fantastic experience for both kids and adults — peaceful, fascinating, and inspiring. Definitely a must-visit in Lisbon!

The space is divided into four main sections, each representing a different ocean ecosystem, and it’s beautifully designed to let you explore marine life from every angle. The two levels of viewing from above and below make it even more impressive, giving you a full perspective of the sea life. From colorful fish and playful penguins to mesmerizing jellyfish and giant ocean tanks, every corner feels magical and educational at the same time. Overall, this aquarium is well-organized, clean, and thoughtfully curated a perfect mix of fun and learning. Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of the ocean.

We got the private guide for 2, it was a great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Great value for money, definitely would recommend. We have booked our tickets on the same day in the morning, but would probably recommend booking more in advance as the guide for 2 has a more limited availability.

100% recommend. It was a bit expensive but if you are students, it’s worth it as there is a discount. The dark lit rooms were matching the aquarium vibes perfectly mixed with the rooms of the ecosystem of animals like penguins and otters.

We had a fantastic tour with Ricardo. He was extremely knowledgeable and his passion for wine really shined through. The lunch was delicious and all the wines we tasted were exceptional.

Adega Mãe is a sophisticated and elegant place that delivers a memorable experience. The service was outstanding, very attentive from start to finish. We enjoyed the tapas, especially the rissois and the bolinho de bacalhau, which were delicious. The wine was terrific and truly one of the highlights of the visit. The setting is refined and versatile — perfect for an afternoon, a dinner, a brunch, or simply a glass of wine while enjoying the beautiful views. A place worth visiting more than once! I recommend to book reservations in advance.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Lisbon region. The attentive and friendly staff, dishes prepared with skill and care with indescribable flavors and all this, in a modern and pleasant environment with a breathtaking view. Come on, don't miss it.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the restaurant at Adega Mae. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the regional wines. The wine produced here is very good although little pricy. Unfortunately their oven was not working so the menu was very limited. I recommended this venue to some friends that came a month later but apparently the oven was not fixed yet. So when you call, ask if their oven in working. Overall totally with the experience.

My family and I went on a tour and wine tasting at AdegaMae, and the experience we had was incredible. The winery itself is an absolute gem, showcasing meticulous attention to detail in every aspect. Our tour was made all the more enriching thanks to our guide, who provided us with insightful and informative commentary throughout. But the real highlight was the wine tasting session, which can only be described as phenomenal. Each wine we sampled was expertly paired with traditional Portuguese dishes such as pica pau and choco frito, elevating our tasting experience to new heights. I can't go without mentioning the stunning interior of the winery and the impeccable service we received, which truly added to the overall charm of our visit. We will be definitely coming back!
