I've been visiting Tilgate Park for many years and always have an enjoyable walk, whatever the weather. The walled garden is well kept and always worth a visit. Bought a cake from the cafe to takeaway which was yummy and homemade; although it's not always open so best to check before visiting/ relying on it being open for lunch/ snacks. There are features to see around the park and there are activities if you want to do them. Generally a lovely place to explore

Great park close to K2 Leisure Centre, I discovered this beautiful park while I was walking around the centre between the swimming competition sessions. Great views, the park got woods, nature centre, walled garden, lakes, playground, Goo Ape Tree Top junior, restaurant, picnic tables, station if you want to give a wash to your dog, public toilets and paid parking spaces. Some of the activities are free others you have to pay. Doesn’t matters the age is something for everyone to do, definitely recommended.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with dinosaurs in the park, and my children love it! Their playground was a nice to play and lovely view of Tilgate Park. Stall foods were there and ride as well. It is good and fun for the May half term bank holiday weekend. 🦕☀️😍

For every age groups there this park has a place for them . Whether you enjoy a dog walk or sit and view birds or ducks on the lake or play with kids . Cafe shops are good .

Great place to take the kids. Lots of cute animals. Staff in cafe/shop and zoo are ultra friendly and great with the kids. Everything very reasonable priced. Highly recommend....

Massive grounds with something for everybody; lakeside and woodland walks, a zoo, children's play atea and a couple of cafes - we visited the walled garden cafe. The grounds are dog-friendly and there is plenty of space for families and picnics.

We stayed with family and they took us to this park. Beautiful park to visit and see. They had a dinosaur theme and fair, great for the kids. Definitely worth it if you’re in that area.

One of the best days out I've had with my two sons aged 2 and 5. Seeing the native wildlife up close and hearing the regular keeper talks about the animals the time just flew away. A relaxed and intimate small site, we will be back soon!

As someone who normally shoots weddings and portraits, I was very new to wildlife photography – but this course was absolutely brilliant. The day was exceptionally well run, and the venue being closed to the public made it feel really special and intimate. All the staff were friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the work they do to protect and care for the animals. A huge thank you to our keeper and guide, Jess – she was simply outstanding. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and clear love for the animals made the day even more enjoyable. While the focus of the day was very much on the animals (which was fantastic), there were plenty of opportunities to get some amazing shots. The course was well suited to all skill levels and types of equipment – in our group we had everything from iPhones to full-frame mirrorless setups with big zooms. The café had some great options too, and there was no shortage of tea and coffee throughout the day. All in all, I left with some great photos and an even greater appreciation for British wildlife. Highly recommended – both the Centre itself and the photography experience. Thank you again to Jess and all the team!

Really lovely place to visit. So much to see and really well cared for, especially with the space and natural habitats. Lots of places to sit and just watch them. Very accessible path ways. It was on the pricey side for entry but I can see why. The animal talks were really good and lots of information. My only gripe was the toilets weren't clean. Especially the baby changing table was "filthy". We didn't use the cafe as the coffee machine was off so can't comment on that part. The gift shop was well stocked. Definitely visit again next year.

Great little place to go. Inherently a lot of the animals were asleep but it was quite hot. They have tons of tunnels that go all around the place that you can see the animals in, and great interesting enclosures. First time ever seeing red squirrels and they have so much personality???? They were hanging out with the muntjac

Lovely relaxed visit. All the talks were informative and friendly. Great venue encouraging visitors to be familiar with the animals and so be more aware of human actions that can damage them.

Spent the best part of 5 hours at the Centre for the concessionary price of £14.50. Although initially we wondered about the value as most of the pens seemed devoid of life, we cottoned on to the half-hourly keeper talks programme where the animals were enticed out of their hidey holes on the promise of tidbits. From thence on, our visit became one that proved of immense value. The keepers were obviously caring and committed individuals, reflected in the demeanor of the animals. So very patient and obliging of both keepers and animals to spectators ... especially children and photographers. Thank you

It was a brilliant few hours out together as a family. We all enjoyed the animal talks and the gift shop at the end! Staff were nice and friendly.

It was a wonderful biking trip from Purley to Box Hill on a ebike. At 68 years of age I could cycle 50 KMS and explore British Countryside. Worth the effort.

I love this place as it's 30 minute drive for me. A good place to enjoy nature, trails and good food options within 5 minutes walk. Plenty of parking available, and kids can enjoy the place as they have Children specific Trails too with few nature activities that my child enjoys! Definitely one of my favourite place in the UK.

Did Box Hill, Lodge Hill and Juniper Hill Circular that having up and down always but the terrain within 200m that so far not too hard. The view of box hill is so good.

Great views, National Trust car park saves a hike up the hill (cost is free for National Trust members, prices on attached photos for non-members); follow the NT sign up the zig zag Road. We did the stepping stone walk on a warm but mercifully not sunny day in August. It was doable in comfy trainers although it did involve a very steep descent down the steps from the car park to the stepping stones and then we followed the path along the river (although you can't actually see the river) back to the village where the zig zag road starts going up the hill. The path back up the hill starts just to the left of the hotel on the roundabout and is very steep, so you need to be fully mobile and relatively fit to get up there. It looked very slippery for those coming down that way as it was just a gravel path on a steep hill, not steps like going down to the stepping stones. We did the whole walk slowly with a 4 year old who definitely needed carrying for the steepest parts and with a few stops to catch out breath and have a snack it took us approx 2 hours. It was a nice walk but we didn't realise how steep the slopes would be and wished we had taken more water!

Beautiful place for some serious incline hiking, or just a gentle walk depending on what route you take. Perfect for training for a big climb/hike up a mountain, also nice for a dog walk with some really great views! Definitely bring plenty of water with you and ideally some hiking poles if you’re a bit unfit or need that extra support if you’re doing the longer, hilly routes as it is VERY steep in places! A cafe is situated at the car park but it’s very expensive. There’s also toilets there and usually an ice cream van in the car park in sunny weather (again, extortionate prices (£5.50 for a small whippy ice cream) but it’s there if you want it! :) There’s free water fountains there though which is handy for refilling your bottle. Parking is around £10 for the day, or free for disabled badge holders and national trust members. Overall, great place!

A beautiful and peaceful hike! I had a great time at Box Hill! The scenery on the drive up was beautiful, and the 20-30 minute hike to the top was definitely worth it. It was so peaceful and the views were stunning. The only minor issue was parking. We ended up having to use the private car park in front of the hotel, which cost £4.95 for 2 hours. Just something to be aware of if you're planning a visit! Despite that, it was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend it for a peaceful walk with amazing views.

Great place for a day out with family or friends. Walking shoes are recommended. Be prepared for a moderate difficulty, lots of steps parts ( on the way from The Stepping Stones up to Box Hill we accounted 278) . Beautiful views from every side. At the top is a parking, if you are a National Trust member is free if not you have to pay. Coffee shop is cosy, with lots of choices of food and drinks, helpful and kind staff, toilets available. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little farm! Perfect for kids! Everything is at their height so they can see the animals clearly. Feeding the animals is different depending on the animal which is fun! On the goats you have to put the food into a little tray then crank this machine up and the tray goes on a conveyer to the goat enclosure. The cafe had gorgeous food! Highly recommend the jacket potato! Nice big portions!

Nice place for a family day out! We arrived just after opening and it was calm and not too busy, but by the time we left around 1pm it had gotten quite crowded—so going early is best. Plenty to do for little ones, with a huge playground, soft play, and lots of animals to see.

I would say a must visit for a day out with family. It has almost everything that your children might need. You can see animals around while walking, playground for children, soft play and many other things. You can walk along with pond with your loved one.

Godstone farm is a great place for family fun, entertaining little ones, while seeing some cool animals but absolutely lacks in the food department! I’ll start with the best: for the price of a ticket and what you get (farm animals, walking around, indoor soft play area, multiple outdoor play areas) it is worth every single penny and our kids loved it - and so did we. Now for the food: expensive and honestly not worth of any decent place that calls itself a farm. Ordered the breakfast and it was tasteless. Order the beef burger for lunch and it came within 2 minutes of the order and when I asked how come it was cooked so fast the waiter just left it there and didn’t offer to replace it or refund what clearly was sitting there for a while. You’d be a 5* if you sourced your food locally and cooked it with pride but that shall be a 3* as price is ridiculous for what you offer on that department

Took my eldest here lots when she was younger and now took the one year old and the 7 year old. Ticket prices are not cheap but ok if you are there for a few hours then it's worth it. Nice they now do feeding for some animals as the children loved this. The animals are so accessible and easy to see which again is good for young children. Great new indoor soft play area too. Kids had a brilliant day. Will be going back soon.

Great half day out with the little ones! As the name suggest, it is a farm, so plenty of farm animals and even a reptile section and pig race! Some indoor and outdoor play. Lovely walks and trails. Good cafe and snacks too. Thumbs up.

I would truly give a 5 star review based on the farm, the animals and the lovely surroundings. Our 3 grandchildren ages 9, 4 & 10 months absolutely loved it and we all had a great day. Sadly I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the baby area in the indoor play barn. In particular the balls in the ball pond and the pond itself were filthy, I had to remove my 10m old grandson as he was putting them in his mouth. I took one of the balls to a member of staff and asked if I could speak to a Manager, he took the ball and said he would check, he came back saying that the Manager would look at it. The staff member told me they clean the ball ponds weekly but not the balls. Sadly I felt the need to warn other users of this failure at an otherwise lovely place.

Great event - shame was spoiled by the weather but thats the UK for you. Thats the 3rd and final big event I've been to this year Cheltenham and aintree being the other 2. The difference being on the hill is free entry that nobody knows about

Another great days racing at Epsom Downs, Derby day always a great meeting and some fantastic winners. Tickets purchased well In advance but for some reason not posted out, we had to collect on arrival which is never great when you have a disabled member in the party. We booked the Views restaurant, plenty of space and great service from the waitresses, drinks flowing all day. Food was interesting, sampler menu and then lamb main course, unfortunately the main wasn’t hot, warm at best, afternoon tea was plentiful and the cakes full of flavours.

Having grown up here, it has long held a significant space in my heart. It is honestly such a beautiful and peaceful place outside of race weekends... often with people exercising their horse along the gallops. Perfect spot for a walk, a picnic, or even just having some time to think.

The perfect location to view and savour the setting 🌅sun all year round, whilst enjoying 😊 the panoramic views of the North Downs along with increasing the ‘step tally’ on the iPhone Health App! lol. This is indeed a treasured location and 1️⃣ to be enjoyed, especially 1️⃣0️⃣ to 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes leading up to sunset 🌅

We didn't have especially great time here as wheel chair users, some of the rides were closed or had technical issues, as my mobile data didn't work, we relied on the WiFi which also didn't work well so couldn't download the Chessington app nor the application for disabled pass so only ended up going on 2 rides. We arrived there late because didn't know which carpark had blue badge car parking. When we worked out the parking, it was full. So had very little time to navigate, queue up for the rides. In hindsight, we wish we knew all about these things to make our lives easier to navigate the park. So any wheel chair users wanting to visit the park, get your pass well in advance, download the app in advance and get there when it opens. As we came from a distance and logistically couldn't get there at 9 am, we suffered greatly with all this. Even the wheelchair access line is busy as it's the same line for fast track passes. We queued in one line that said on the board 15 minutes wait, it was more like 30 minutes. The food served which cost £19 and more per dish was not great value for money either (curly fries were over cooked and dry). I'm very disappointed about spending around £70 per person to visit here and got this experience. (There was 6 of us altogether that went). You need to pay for parking too which is another £12.50 on top of £32 entrance ticket and £25 for a meal and drink. 3 hours drive in bad M25 traffic, I can't come back here again. It's a shame, as it we known about the logistics of coming here, we would had a much better experience. It's mainly got rides for young children so not really suitable for adults with disabilities.

I’ve been visiting Chessington ever since I was a kid, and now I get to bring my own children here! The park has retained much of its charm from when I was younger. My daughters are 8 and 2, and there are plenty of rides and attractions suitable for both of them to enjoy. It’s great to see the park continuing to evolve with exciting additions like the Jumanji area and the upcoming Paw Patrol attraction. However, I do feel that some of the older rides could use a bit more attention — we got stuck on the Gruffalo ride, and the Vampire ride (my very first rollercoaster!) was unfortunately closed. I was really looking forward to sharing that nostalgic experience with my daughter. Overall, Chessington is still a fantastic family day out and a place full of wonderful memories. We’ll definitely be back once the new areas and rides open up!

A very good family theme park. There is a wide variety of attractions, including a good selection of rollercoasters for those wanting rides of the slightly more thrilling type. There are also many younger oriented rides.

The atmosphere was wonderful, we recommend going here with your family as there were multiple child friendly rides and zoos. There were a few rollercoasters for adults and teenagers too however 3 of the rides were malfunctioning and took quite a while to function again. It was a nice experience, my kids enjoyed it a lot.

Very good theme park with a good range of rides for all ages. The park is tidy and well themed. The queues were often quicker than advertised at the ride entrance/ on the app. Queues ranged from 25 to 60 minutes. Ride availability was excellent on the day we visited.

I visited Chessington World of Adventures today with my family and had a really good time. The weather was lovely, which always helps, and I was impressed with how easy it was to get on the rides. Most of them had little to no queue at all, so we could go straight on, which was fantastic with young children. The kids really enjoyed themselves and there was a nice mix of rides suitable for their ages. On the downside, some of the rides could definitely do with a bit more cleaning and maintenance, as a few looked quite worn. I also noticed a bit of a rat problem near some of the bins, which was unpleasant to see. Overall though, we had a very enjoyable day out and I would recommend it to families, especially if you can go on a quieter day like we did.

Lovely day with the children, my only criticism is the time it takes to get onto the ride, the cost to upgrade is just too much, but the time wasted on getting people off and on I think could be improved to speed things up. The guys in the ticket office were brilliant after some issues with my tickets not coming through they sorted it very quickly.

I won 4 free tickets to visit here. We had a lovely time with our 2 year old son and 7 year old niece and enjoyed it, there was plenty for them to do together. The weather was rather hot so we only spent about 3 hours but you could easily spend more time. The children really enjoyed the outside water play area and the imaginarium. We brought a picnic but did order a couple of drinks from the indoor cafe which were reasonably priced and the iced caramel latte was lovely. We would come back here again!

Amazing day out with family and friends. The booking process was simple, and from the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful. There’s so much to do — from the imaginative indoor play areas to the brilliant outdoor activities and animal enclosures. Everything is well maintained, clean, and safe. Our kids had a great time exploring, playing, and meeting the animals. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I went with my little boy and from start to finish it was a fantastic day out. The whole place is beautifully laid out, with so much attention to detail in every corner — it feels magical. The staff were brilliant — full of energy, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth towards the children. Their excitement was infectious and made the experience even more special. The play areas are incredible, with endless variety to keep little ones entertained for hours, and the animals were an absolute delight. There are plenty of lovely picnic spots to relax and so many perfect photo opportunities to capture the memories. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, engaging, and beautifully designed day out. We can’t wait to go back!

A great adventure park and animals to see, we went on a particularly hot day and due to animal welfare, there was only a static bird of prey talk. This was expected but reasonable, and still fascinating to hear. The imaginarium was a hit, great seating areas for picnic, good facilities and parking. Staff were friendly, play grounds were fun and varied, great free activities such as archery. Great experience.

We visited Hobbledown Epsom on the Saturday, it was a very hot day. Yes, there are few places which been closed some due to weather condition and some had maintanance work, but it still so much to do for little people and enjoy their day.We seen some of the animals like alpake,donkey,capibara and cames. We had amazing day out and probably will re-visit place in a some point. Very nice place.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield. The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better. As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.

As a visitor, you can’t ask for a better system to get about to major museums, etc. You get to ride with both the working class and executives alike. Iconic London ! Takes a little getting used to, if you need to travel in the City, it’s the way to go. As a visitor, we purchased a Visitor Oyster Card online, it’s a fantastic deal. Recommended.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.

These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point? Many but the main one is: Thanks to Bid Rigging the same people keep getting rich fulfilling contracts that do nothing but cosmetic change. I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one. Sure, they Spent £16 Billion over budget and late) on a new Elizabeth Line. It's a nice reflection on what we have - - tourists are in central London for the sights, not off to Abby Wood (the other one) and to have them riding the clittering, clanking, clattering collection of caligenous junk - - (think Wizard of Oz to the Tin Man) is a disgrace.

Coming from Manchester we need this in the city.... Yes its a bit dim, dark and dirty.... But what a brilliant, cheap and quick way to get around....

Located in the heart of the city near the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, this area is filled with history, architecture, and national heritage. Walking through Westminster felt like stepping into Britain’s political and royal past. The area around Westminster is best explored on foot, with easy access to Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, and the River Thames. How to Reach: The Abbey is located at 20 Deans Yard, London SW1P 3PA. The nearest Underground station is Westminster (Jubilee, District, and Circle lines), just a short walk away. Overall, Westminster and Westminster Abbey offer a deep connection to British history and culture — a must-visit for anyone exploring London’s most iconic landmarks.

Breathtaking Abbey! So many beautiful monuments. The architecture is marvelous. So much to look at you could definitely spend the whole day. Friendly,helpful and knowledgeable staff. It is a working church so depending on when you go you might see a daily prayer or two. Gentlemen remember is respectful to remove your hat. It's a must see!

Beautiful building with a lot to see inside especially for history enthusiasts. I would recommend booking in advance which will give you a time slot for entry. We still had to wait despite having the designated time so be prepared (we waited about 45 mins). It's worth it though to see everything. I also found the audio guide helpful for filling in context on everything. The optional upper floors are worth it too as they have great views looking down as well as some fascinating antiques.

No visit to London is complete without seeing Westminster Abbey. This magnificent Anglican church has hosted every British coronation for nearly 1,000 years and serves as the resting place of monarchs, writers, scientists, and national heroes. It’s also been the setting for many royal weddings and state funerals. A true World Heritage Site! Book tickets in advance and allow plenty of time to take it all in. Highly recommended!!

I visited Westminster Abbey for the first time at age 50, coinciding with the 44th Independence Service for Antigua and Barbuda. Despite a cold, rainy English day, stepping inside was incredible. The detail throughout the Abbey is breathtaking, and it was impeccably clean. The staff—ushers and clergy—were professional, respectful, and welcoming, always guiding visitors with a smile. One of the clergy even cracked a few jokes, showing their sense of humour and humanity. Westminster Abbey is a beautiful, top-notch cathedral in London. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The Abbey is an amazing place to visit, however the ticket is expensive for a live church. We booked a tour guide with church verger for a tenner which was a great tour and Kat provided lots of interesting info about the abbey. We also visited the Queen’s diamond gallery, accessible through Weston Tower. O stall we had a great time.

Huge Church filled with so much history! Beautiful place of worship & Royal ceremonies. Gothic stone architecture, stained glass windows, and so many tombs and memorials. I amazing sight to see!

St. James’s Park is absolutely beautiful! The views of Buckingham Palace and the lake are stunning. It’s such a peaceful place to walk, relax, and take pictures. We saw lots of ducks, swans, and even some friendly squirrels. There are plenty of benches and a little café for coffee or snacks. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature right in the heart of London.

Lovely walks around the lake, and the gardens were full of autumn colour. It gets very busy though, especially at weekends, with all the tourists. There's toilets near the entrance from Horseguards parade and a couple of coffee stands. The squirrels seem quite tame and will come up close asking for food!

The perfect park in Central London to appreciate the joy and splendour of autumnal colours at their finest. The Blue Bridge spanning St. James’s Park Lake, offers a stunning partial backdrop of The London Eye, Whitehall and the City’s Towers. On a clear blue sky Sunday afternoon in October, the lake was stunningly blue with a near perfect reflection 💯in places.

A serene oasis in the heart of London. Impeccably manicured gardens, a picturesque lake teeming with pelicans, and stunning views of Buckingham Palace. The perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a quiet moment away from the city's bustle. An absolutely essential and tranquil green escape.

Great park with lots of wild life, especially birds and squirrels that are very friendly and social. Great views to London Eye from one of the bridges on the lake. There is few cafes in the park and sitting on the grass is allowed.

Nice park for a walk with plenty of squirrels and unusual birds, especially the Pelicans with their long beaks, are fascinating. Several kinds of geese. Unfortunately, we did not see any Mandarin Ducks.

Absolutely stunning park with some beautiful wild life. The highlight of the walk was the pelicans who took up shop on a bench to groom themselves and the unabashed squirrels who aren't afraid of humans in the slightest.

Visiting Big Ben is truly an unforgettable experience. The tower is one of London’s most iconic landmarks and simply breathtaking when you see it up close. Especially when the clock strikes, you can really feel the history and significance of this place. Whether by day, when the golden details shine in the sunlight, or at night, when the tower is beautifully illuminated – Big Ben is always a highlight. The surrounding area, with the Houses of Parliament and the River Thames, makes the view even more impressive and offers countless photo opportunities. Although you can’t go inside unless you’re a UK resident with special permission, just standing nearby and taking in the atmosphere is worth it. I visited this place on my recent trip to London from NYC. This is obviously a very well-put together exhibit. You gotta admire the British attention to detail there. The audio guide (in the form of a tablet that you take with you on the tour) was helpful, and you get to explore at your own pace. There's a dedicated Churchill museum at this place. The gift shop has a good selection of books. The tour was a bit crowded for my taste (reason for the one less star) since the place is generally very popular but definitely worth a visit if you like British history during WWII (or if you like Churchill!)

Could very well be the most impressive museum I've visited. Each of the exhibits is extremely well done, with exactly the right amount of information to read in a timely manner and continue moving on to the next. It's a small space, so if it is a crowded day, and you want to see everything, expect to spend 4-5 hours. The time went by so fast because everything is so engrossing, we didn't even realize we had been there for so long! The interactive exhibits are fascinating and seeing things left just as they were when the war was over and the Rooms closed was surreal. There's definitely a presence to be felt there, especially as you listen to the stories of those who lived through it via the many videos. For any history buff, this is an experience you must do whilst in London. Thoroughly, utterly impressed.

What a great place to visit. Very well organised from the start with timed entry...try and get there close to your time slot. Everyone has an audio guide to help you navigate the different areas. There is also a cafe half way round which was lovely. To think this was left as it was, they walked away, it's the perfect time capsule and quite fascinating to see all the little things all original. It's a one way journey through the corridors. Lots of interactive bits as well as the main displays. Lots of video footage as well. There is also a museum on Churchill the person, chartering his life and career which is utterly fascinating, so many incredible personal items, clothing, letters, original paintings and much more. An excellent collection helping you understand the man. We really enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend.

The Churchill War Rooms is a genuinely fascinating site, and the fact that it’s a real historical location adds a layer of authenticity that makes the visit feel that little bit more special. The preserved bunker and wartime details are rich with atmosphere. But that experience was quickly dulled down by the sheer volume of tourists. Tourists crowded around displays to take endless photos, often with little awareness of others trying to view the exhibits too. Some visitors even treated it more like a photo op than a historical site and a shared learning space. It made the space feel cramped and rushed, especially when you’re trying to absorb the history of it all. But also at some points (mainly the narrow corridor stuff) it does feel a bit like you are being rushed because yes you want to take photos, but you then feel like a burden because you're holding the queue up. Despite having pre-booked tickets for 1pm, I still had to wait around 15 to 20 minutes in the queue, which was unexpected and frustrating considering we technically had a booking time. Still, if you can time your visit right and come prepared for the bustle, it’s a real powerful glimpse into wartime Britain, and the audio guide really helps bring it to life. Isn't the best lighting for most pictures as it's underground and a little bit dark, so if pictures is all you care about, don't go. If you're a history buff, you could be in there for a good 3hrs (once getting my tickets scanned, getting the audio guide, going to the toilet etc, I was in there from 13:31pm to 16:39pm), if you're just interested in artifacts and not so much of the history, maybe about 1.5hrs. One standout detail for me was somewhere in the building (not telling you where, bit of an easter egg hunt for you) you will find displayed a key with a 'No. 10' tag on it. Just that small detail shows you how important it is to look at everything on display. While yes some things are replicas, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) this key isn't. ✌🏻

Views are worth than ticket price for a lifetime for a one time; if possible reducing ticket rate is great for travelers but it has great demand and long que always. The London Eye is an interesting experience that I was glad that I went on, but I am not sure if I would recommend. It offers great views of the city but I understand that The Shard and Sky Garden also can do this. Heck, the coffee shop at Tate Modern also has great views and it is free to go up. We had booked a time and were waiting for our slot, when we arrived 15 minutes early to join an extremely long queue. I was very surprised how quickly the line went and we actually boarded the ride at our allocated time. I suspect if we arrived early (within reason), we could have got on sooner rather than waiting around. Getting on and off was easy, even though the ride didn't stop. The entire trip lasted about 30 minutes and was very relaxing. Obviously the views were great, but I `think that I would have spent less time if I had gone up the Shard or Sky Garden, as the ride seemed to trudge along. The are definitely opportunities to get discounted tickets: book online or in the visitor centre or with the London Pass. Since the line went quick, I wouldn't pay extra for a fast path.

I have visited the Gallery several times over the years and I'm still as impressed today as I was on my first visit. There is something for everyone and there are many very beautiful pieces of art. Rembrandt, Turner, Gainsborough,Titian,Holbein,van Dyke, Monet, Van Gogh, Rubens, the list is endless and very impressive. There is no entrance fee, there are cafes, restrooms, cloakrooms and lots and lots to see. Give yourself plenty of time to make the most of your visit.

Tube connectivity is there. Plan to enjoy and take photos from outside squar also. There is a paid washroom available outside. You get chance to see a lot of historical paintings and know about the artist. Due to limited time I was not able to complete it. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water if possible.

Had a good time with family, spent around 2hrs at the venue.kudos to the entire team for excellent crowd control. Around 80% of the wax statue look stunning and fantastic, rest felt like a dummy one. The special attraction was "Spirit of London" ride, which is a themed taxi ride through the city's history, and not a conventional train ride. The ride uses iconic black cabs to take visitors on a 5-minute journey through London's history and cultural events which also includes wax figures, immersive exhibits, and a 4D cinema.

I had an amazing experience at the Madame Tuassads London. I have already been to other places but this one was different. In addition to various wax statues there was a ride which was very beautiful. Also there was 3D show which was star of the whole lot. Would highly recommend even if you have visited other wax museums. Its clean and wait time is not much.

Taking the Tower Bridge Exhibition tour made the visit even better, as it gave detailed insights into how the bridge was built and the fascinating mechanism behind its operation. Walking across the glass floor was a unique highlight too, giving a completely different perspective of the bridge and the river below. The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to wait in a queue for entry, and on a sunny day this can feel a bit frustrating. Still, it’s not just a landmark to admire from outside, but also an educational and memorable experience to explore from within. Definitely worth visiting.

Walking near Tower Bridge is honestly one of the nicest things to do in London, especially if you’re trying to escape the busy streets without leaving the city. The view is unreal – you’ve got the bridge itself, which looks straight out of a postcard, the river Thames calmly flowing, and plenty of spots to just sit and chill. There’s something peaceful about hearing the water and watching the boats go by, even when there are tourists around. At sunset, the whole area lights up in warm colours and it feels kinda magical. It’s also surprisingly clean and safe, even in the evening. Loads of nice little cafes and street food stalls around if you fancy a bite, and the walk towards the south bank or down to St Katharine Docks is worth it too. You get a mix of old-school charm and modern city vibes. Would definitely recommend it for a date, a solo unwind walk, or just to take some beautiful photos. 10/10 – calming, scenic, and very London.

The Tower Bridge is a great stop if you're in the nearby area, and provides about 30min to 1 hour diversion. Combined with the free audio tour, great views complete with partial glass floor in one section, historic awe of the building process, and gift shop at the end - I would highly recommend if you're in the area. There are lifts for the tower, but I suggest/recommend you take the stairs getting some insight, facts and touch of history on the way up and down. There are benches to rest, toilets but no Air Con for most of it, however fans throughout provide plenty of relief - 84 degrees and it never felt sweltering inside. Learn how the bridge was designed, constructed and changes over the years - in particular the engine room videos and presentation on divers were really great. And whenever you're done walk along the Thames River path near the wharf and grab a bite to eat.

Absolutely fabulous collection of stuff from across the world! Good enough options for food, well laid out. Largely accessible. We went on a Tuesday and didn’t have any issues getting in without the prebooked tickets. The museum was busy though. So if you’re visiting during the tourist season or even weekends I suppose, getting tickets (they’re free but get you a faster entry) will be helpful.

I have visited many times over the years and the museum always impresses. The exhibits are world class and everything is labelled with an explanation-discription so you know what everything is, where it's from, how old etc. There were several schools visiting including overseas school children which was nice to see. My favourite area (and it would seem many other people's favourite) are the Egyptian artifacts. There are many areas to explore and if possible give yourself lots of time. If you don't have very much time to visit then plan ahead and maybe decide what you would like to see first. You could actually spend all day there if you wanted to. A stunning place and definitely worth a visit.

The only downside was the ridiculous amount of people visiting, but this is to be expected when entry is free (which is great and makes a visit absolutely worth it). The British Museum is full of fascinating history and culture to explore. You could easily spend the whole day here and still not see everything! I only had 2–3 hours to visit this time, but it was such an incredible experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again to explore more

Wonderful experience. We travelled to Waterloo by train and hopped on boat to London Bridge for the Tower which was easy and entertaining. The Tower was fascinating, such history. The poppy installation was fantastic. A really good day.....but you need comfy walking shoes!

Very expensive for little content. The buildings are beautiful but it’s not worth nearly 32£. The jewel gallery was nice but we did it in 5mn. Best advice is to take pictures from outside and not go in.

Beautiful place with a lot to see. 8 Ravens on site. You can get close to they but they are wild and will bite. Crown Jewels, armory collection, church and more. It was not always a prison, and not just a tower. You can easily spend all day here.

Enjoyed all the history The Ravens were alot bigger than I imagined. The crown Jewels were amazing and loads of gold pieces of various objects the punch bowl was massive. All the beefeaters were friendly and helpful.

You could spend a day exploring or breeze in and out in two on a quiet day. Crown Jewels were gorgeous. Walking throughbthe verybdark vaults added to the intrigue. No photos permitted. The tower was very fun if you like armour and military weapons. Lots of steps up and a turret spiral staircase to exit. I would have prefered to see recreations of how the home was setup. Lunch at the cafe was meh, but after all you are a captive audiance!

Absolutely a wonderful time. As a tourist from the US, I cannot believe the amount of history in one place. You could spend an entire vacation at this site alone. Seeing highlights from the coronation amd seeing them in real life was fantastic. The displays in the White Tower were worth it alone

Spend about 3 hours here and could have easily spend more if we hadn’t gotten too tired. So much to see and explore. Really enjoyed this and would come back. Worth the price of admission

If you are interested in aircraft, a visit to this museum is a must. Great exhibits, well displayed, friendly and helpful volunteers on hand to give you information. Three complete Mosquitoes on display, including the prototype. Plus many other types of aircraft, some of which you can enter. This is where the Mosquito was designed, and the prototype aircraft was built. A great museum!

Absolutely superb day out for myself and a few chums, as it’s centrally located to meet up. Wonderfully atmosphere here, with such knowledgeable staff, who have enthusiasm which is infectious. There’s so much here, I’ve visited a few times, and seen more on each visit. Excellent little cafe too, for a halftime snack. We were given a guided tour, which was excellent value, very comprehensive and enjoyable.

A fabulous museum and so well worth a visit. The friendliest, approachable and knowledgeable volunteers make all the difference. Quite different to the vast RAF museum down the road. The exhibits are cared for and the restoration work carried out is brilliant. The aircraft on display are superb, particularly the three Mosquitos. It’s also a pleasure to just wander around outside walking through planes like the Comet, the Dove and the 146 and after all of this to sit and joy the delights on offer in the cafe. A highly recommended visit for all aircraft/history/and all things aircraft related.

A real jewel of a museum located on the outskirts of London. It’s full of history, with fascinating navigation and communication gadgets. They have the original Mosquito prototype, wooden fuel tanks, communications and navigation artifacts, a fuselage from the famous Comet—and even the piece that failed. I learned so much during this visit (and I thought I knew it all!). The staff at the museum are extremely friendly and eager to guide you and share countless stories about De Havilland aircraft. Many are former workers from the factory. I highly recommend it for any aviation enthusiast.

Fantastic museum with many amazing exhibits, aeroplanes, interactive activities and even a working Merlin engine! Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff, lots for all ages to enjoy, plenty of aircraft to sit in and explore and a great gift shop and cafe. Visited with X4 boys ranging 9 to 18 and they all loved it. "Treasure hunt" style quiz available for kids and a great second hand book selection. Would recommend!

We had such a lovely day at Willows Activity Farm. The kids absolutely loved it — from feeding the animals to bouncing on the giant pillows and running around the Peter Rabbit play areas. There’s just so much for them to do, both indoors and outdoors, that we ended up staying most of the day without even realizing how fast it went by. Everything felt clean, safe, and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fine (a bit pricey, as expected at these places), but it didn’t really matter because the kids were having the best time. It’s clear that the place was designed with families in mind — it’s easy to get around with a stroller, there are plenty of toilets and shaded spots, and you never feel rushed. Perfect for young kids who love to explore and play. We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s one of those rare spots where the whole family leaves happy and tired in the best way.

Went for potato digging. It was such a fun experience for kids. We enjoyed rest of the day at the playground.

Absolutely amazing place to bring the kids. I think this is about our 7th year of coming here and each time gets better with something new being added. Loads of seating, loads of toilets, loads of lovely treats, loads of great activities for the kids and lovely clean animals. I’ll be sad when the kids don’t want to come anymore. We visited Willows Farm on a Sunday for the Pumpkin Festival, and it was a lovely family day out! The pumpkin patch was beautiful with lots of photo spots, and there was even a pumpkin carving area. Our daughter loved the pumpkin hunt around the farm and was thrilled with her little prize at the end. There’s so much for kids to do — bouncy castle, Peter Rabbit shows, tractor rides, feeding the animals, playgrounds, mini golf, and rides. You can easily spend the whole day there. The only downside for us was the food. We tried one of the food trucks near the pumpkin patch, but it was disappointing and overpriced. The buns were cold, and the burgers tasted like they’d been pre-cooked. We also skipped the hot chocolate after someone in front of us returned theirs. We then went to the indoor canteen, but it was very busy with long queues and packed seating, so we couldn’t get a meal there either. It was a cold day, so a nice warm lunch would’ve made the day even better. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and loved all the activities, but the food options really let it down. We’d happily come again for the fun, but next time we’ll definitely bring our own food!

UNWELCOMING PLACE IF THERE WAS 0 stars I would give. Discriminatary behaviour was demonstrated towards us by staff. Unwelcoming. No understanding towards children. My son who was over 90cm was denied access to areas that he was actually eligible for. Do not waste your money here. Also on weekdays majority areas are shut with one staff working and the shows do not run. I forgot to take photos on the day due to stress caused but attached photos of some closed attractions including “adventure playground” “carasouls” and “playground slides”

Grandparent’s paradise - a full day of entertainment for under 9’s. Great attraction good parking, well organised with really nice staff. If it’s dry there’s lots to do. Not so great in the wet. Indoor play area and soft play is a bit tired but the kids still love it. Toilets everywhere and good quality play equipment/bouncy castles. What’s not to like?

We recently spent a memorable day at Willows Activity Farm, and it truly exceeded our expectations! Visiting with two other families with children around 3.5 years old, we all had a fantastic time exploring the farm, especially with the added Halloween decorations and pumpkin patches for the season. Lucky for us, we enjoyed a sunny day—quite a treat for October in England—which made the visit even more enjoyable. Willows Activity Farm is packed with a variety of activities that kept the kids entertained from start to finish. 1.Animal Feeding: The kids were delighted to feed and interact with the farm animals, including goats and sheep. Feed is available to purchase, adding a fun hands-on experience for little ones eager to get close to the animals. 2.Piglet Race: This was one of the biggest hits! The kids loved watching the adorable piglets race around a small track, and the cheering made it all the more exciting. 3.Cow Milking Show: The cow-milking demonstration offers a great mix of entertainment and education, allowing kids to see where milk comes from. Lee Valley White Water Centre is an absolutely fantastic destination for water adventure lovers! We went for white water rafting, and the experience was thrilling from start to finish. The staff are well-trained, friendly, and make sure everyone stays safe while having fun. They also offer great membership options for regular users – perfect if you’re planning to go often. We noticed some excellent offers for families and friends, making it more affordable to enjoy as a group. It’s also a brilliant place to celebrate birthday parties, especially for teens or adults who love an adrenaline rush. The facilities are clean, well-organised, and there’s even a nice café on-site for relaxing after your adventure. Highly recommended for a fun-filled and energetic day out! 💦🚣‍♂️

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

I went white water rafting with 7 mates for a birthday. An excellent experience, we loved it. Ask for Sean as your instructor he made it a 5/5 experience. We did 6 runs on the Olympic course and Sean upped the ante each time. Would highly recommend it!

I’ve just been on the Royal Gunpowder Mills walking tour. What a great experience. The history at Waltham Abbey is fascinating, and was brought to life by the knowledgeable volunteers/guides. We were a small group of 8, so plenty of opportunities to ask as many questions as we liked. The tour allowed access to many of the buildings and structures that you only see from afar on the tractor tour. For anyone with an interest in military history, explosives, or industrial architecture l’d highly recommend this tour. Many thanks to the guides for giving us their time.

Fantastic day at the Gunpowder Mills. Greeted before entry by welcoming volunteers. The site is huge with attractions and information. We made a rocket and launched it which was fun. The tractor was great with a very informative guide. The volunteer who gave us the talk in the rocket vault was exceptionally good. We went on the miniature train and the bigger train where we saw more of the site. There is so much to see and do here. Our visit was four hours and worth every penny of the entrance fee. Looking forward to booking a walking tour when they are organised.

I had been recommended the Royal Gunpowder Mills by a friend, and with the kids now a slightly bit older we decided it would be worth a try. It's only open to visitors a couple of times a month on a Sunday, and on our visit from 11am to 4pm. We got there at 11am as it opened, there is a big sign as you come off the main road, but the site is located at the end of the drive once you have driven past all the housing. Car park is a fair size, and the entrance is located to the right once you have got into the car park. Once you have gone in, it's probably worth getting yourself booked on to the tractor ride. It leaves at specific times. We went straight towards the miniature railway which took us up the site to the gunpowder mill railway. Again, there are some set timings for this, but when we got there we pretty much had the train to ourselves. The railway takes passengers for a ride further up the site, stops and then comes back again. We managed to see the deer as well as bits of the site. The guys running the railway did a fab job at showing us all about the railway, and even let the young 'uns sit in the main cab. The tractor ride was incredibly informative and really gave a good idea of how big the place truly is (massive!) and how much history is here (loads!) Again you get to see the deer, and lots of the old buildings - lots of areas are covered in greenery where nature has taken over. The kids were also given a sheet of things to look out for on the journey. At lunch we popped back to the car to get our picnic and sat at the benches next to the play area (obstacle course / zip line). There is an area where you can get a free tea / coffee - as well as toilets if required. Post lunch, we went to create some rockets and had a little competition to see who's rocket could go the furthest - kids enjoyed this! (Well, the adults did too!) After the rockets, we went to look around the exhibition and armoury. Lots to read here, and kids did do a few little interactive games (mixing the substances at the factory etc.) but they weren't quite so keen to stand and read! The armoury was literally a room full of different guns, rifles etc. When we came out of the exhibition, we just had time to have another trip on the railway. The volunteers were great and radio'd up to ensure we would catch it on time! Once our second trip on the railway was finished it was closing time... we had been there all day! We thought the dedication and hard work by the volunteers was great - we even thought about volunteering ourselves, but it's a bit of a journey away! (Although if they ever do a family volunteering day where the kids can get involved, we would certainly consider it!!)

If you want to learn about the history of gunpowder and explosives, The Royal Gunpowder Mills provides a fascinating day out. In many respects, this is the place where it all started. Our tractor guide was quite knowledgeable and provided interesting insight. The Mills is run completely by volunteers. As the MOD has been involved in siphoning off material, it's too bad the MOD doesn't promote it as the volunteers care dearly and they can use some help.

I visited with my two children and another family, on an open day during the summer holidays. There were varied activities for the kids (rocket making/launching, tie dying, slime making and nature crafts) as well as the train that runs further up along the grounds. It was a really nice day out without the extensive crowds that you often find with children’s activities in the holidays! When booking the tickets I noticed that numbers were capped quite low so I can’t imagine it would ever be uncomfortably busy. Having a mixture of fun activities for children alongside the educational side of the small museum and exhibitions was a good balance. They particularly enjoyed role playing in the village shop with ration books! I would say the open day activities etc are probably most suited for children under 10 (which all of ours were). We also saw some beautiful deer and the children enjoyed the playground as well. Everything was staffed by volunteers (I think) giving up their time to run it. Drinks and snacks in the cafe were very well priced - i bought ice lollies for 5 children for barely more than the price you’d pay for one at an ice cream van!! We brought a packed lunch with us as suggested on the website - I don’t think there is much in the way of food other than snacks available in the cafe. All in all a nice day out, something a bit different and easy to drive to and park.

I took the walking tour today. Absolutely brilliant experience! We started in the cafe with a tea/coffee before heading out in a small group with the volunteers. They really knew so much about the site and were so passionate about its history that it was a real pleasure to listen to. Look out for the wildlife too- we saw lots of deer around!

What a wonderful place this is your visit, especially if you're a history lover or architecture enthusiast! I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman. We would definitely visit again!!

Visited the gardens only. Some of the most beautifully curated public gardens in SE England. Very lucky to be able to visit the East Garden which is only open to the public on certain Wednesdays. Some nice woodland walks as well although I would have to say that these aren't fantastically signposted.

It was very lovely place to visit. Free parking and only short walk to the house and gardens. Very brilliant, smiley and pleasant people work there, it was not a problem for them to help us use the lift a few times,so thank you.! It makes the visit so much easier and nicer. It's not easy to get around everywhere if you have a buggy or especially the walker.. Very recommend this place to visit!

What a gorgeous hidden gem just north of London crammed full of history. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides in each room. Check out their website as they put on ‘festival’ type events. The grounds are well kept. Only downside for me was you have to pay extra to go into the palace (£8 I believe). The ‘marmite’ fountain at the back of the house is interesting. I loved it. I will definitely be back.

I don't even know where to start to describe this fantastic place! We spent about five hours there and loved every single minute of it. There is just so much to see! We first visited the Gardens, which are stunning. Then we spontaneously opted for a guided tour of the Old Palace, which absolutely blew us away. I must admit that when we had decided to visit Hatfield House, we weren't even aware of the Old Palace and its significant history, so it felt like an extra bonus. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but also extremely engaging - a pure joy to listen to and get lost in the stories from days gone by. And then the house itself, which is absolutely marvellous in every respect. The staff in each of the rooms were genuinely eager to tell their story and engage with the visitors, so we were able to have long chats, which we thoroughly enjoyed! A long walk to the Oak Tree and back completed our visit, which exceeded our expectations by far. It didn't go unnoticed that unlike most historic houses in Britain, the gift shop was mostly stocked with local produce, rather than the usual souvenirs. But although we couldn't find anything to buy, we didn't even mind that. I got the feeling that despite all its fascinating history and splendour, Hatfield House doesn't seem nearly as commercialised as many similar places (we were surprised about the small number of visitors in the middle of summer), and that would actually seem a good thing. As a result, our visit had a very intimate touch, and we felt individually valued, rather than being a part of big masses of tourists passing through. Our visit turned out to be the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the UK!

Huge gardens & park with multiple routes for avid walkers / dog walking & a fantastic set up for a lovely morning / family day out. Easy parking, we visited their shops and cafe in their entry area, headed to the loo, got ice cream and made our way around their grounds in a beautiful sunny day! Might feel expensive for a walk but a worthy day out for family / friends and a great adventure location with food, facilities, and beautiful nature! Head here for a great day out when the sun is up!

You can feel the history at Hatfield house. You have the spectacular house, built by Robert Cecil, along with the old palace, where Elizabeth 1st and Edward would have been bought up. You can almost imagine them playing in the wonderful West Gardens as you walk around. The staff are full of information and love to share their wealth of knowledge, just ask. After the house, we went for a walk through the woods, down to the picturesque river. My mother is in a wheelchair, but we had no problems getting around. Everywhere is accessible. Just be prepared for some inclines in the woodland walks.

The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.

Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.

A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend

Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.

A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

Such a beautifully presented platter of delicious cheese and crackers which we thoroughly enjoyed with our cups of tea! Unfortunately however my partner being a 6’4 when used their loo, bumped his head as they have a low ceiling. Also, my partner had ordered another cup of tea that was served in another table which made him wait longer for his extra hot drink. As we explored in the field, we smelt a wonderful fresh fragrance of Lavender! It did not look as purple anymore as I am aware they were going to be harvested soon when we went on 07.08.25 However, the Sunflower field did not disappoint us as they were in their full bloom and most yellow. Nice day out! We love The Barn! Recommended. Be careful with your head at the loos though.

Visited Hitchin Lavender for the first time yesterday to pick our pumpkins for Halloween. We had a fantastic time. Despite the big crowds the pumpkin patch itself was full of loads of large and undamaged pumpkins, perfect for carving. The decorations were fun and well thought out. There was face painting, games and a clown present for the kids. It very aimed at families and children however me and my fiancée still had a great time as a couple. Both the cafes were busy but the staff were handling the queues quickly and politely, plus the pumpkin spiced latte and Halloween luxury hot chocolate were worth the wait as they were both delicious. I will definitely visit next summer as a result of how good it was for the Halloween season.

Absolutely 💯 beautiful experience. Wonderful atmosphere. Gorgeous place and definitely worth a visit. Our second visit and it’s better than the last. The Weather was hot ☀️ and nice 😊 All staff were nice and friendly. The Lavender Fields was vibrant with colour and the smells were amazing. Food was delicious 😋 and delightful. The lavender ice cream 🍦 was amazing. Lavender lemonade was delicious and very refreshing. Overall we had a fantastic experience. Everyone should visit Hitchin Lavender. I’ve come with my family from Manchester.

Hitchin Lavender is such a beautiful place to visit. The fields are stunning, filled with rows of vibrant lavender that make the perfect setting for a peaceful walk and lovely photos. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the scent of lavender everywhere is just amazing. The café is a nice touch too, offering tasty treats and drinks. We recently visited Hitchin Lavender Farm and had an absolutely amazing experience! The whole day felt like a perfect escape into nature — beautifully scenic, peaceful, and wonderfully pet-friendly. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning sea of purple stretching across the fields. The aroma of fresh lavender in the air was soothing, and the views were breathtaking — perfect for photos and for simply taking it all in. What made the visit even more special was that we brought our pet along — and they had a blast! Hitchin Lavender is genuinely welcoming to pets, and it showed. One of the biggest highlights was the pet ice cream available on-site. Our furry friend devoured it and couldn’t get enough! It’s such a thoughtful touch for animal lovers. We also tried the lavender ice cream ourselves — and wow! It was creamy, floral, and incredibly refreshing. A truly unique treat that we still talk about. The food options in general were lovely, with plenty of choices for snacks and drinks, and the outdoor seating made it easy to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Before we left, we couldn’t resist browsing the shop. We ended up buying several lavender products — from oils and soaps to beautifully packaged dried lavender. Everything smelled divine and made perfect gifts (and keepsakes for ourselves). Whether you’re coming for a peaceful walk, a family day out, or just to spoil your pet a little, Hitchin Lavender is 100% worth the visit. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our return next summer. 🌿💜

Very warm welcome from the reception staff. Lovely nice clean spa. Had a lovely Himalayan salt stone back massage with Megan. She was lovely and friendly but professional and the massage was good. The dehumidifier in the room was loud and she was unable to turn it off. This spoilt the overall experience for me as I found the noise irritating. Pool area was nice but there are not enough beds or chairs for people to be able to relax and read in the pool area and nowhere else to sit and relax. Cafe is okay, prices reasonable. Overall good value for money for a half day experience but not enough to do for a whole day.

I had a Himalayan Salt Stone massage at Bannatyne Fairfield today, it was so relaxing! Christine was really friendly and professional and made me feel completely comfortable. The massage itself was a full body, the salt stones were hot which was lovely and also exfoliating which was a bonus. After the treatment, I wanted to buy an Elemis cleanser and Christine was very knowledgeable about the products and helped me choose what was best for me and my skin. I bought the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash and I have just used it for the first time. It had a nice gentle scent and my skin feels lovely and soft (which is not a given for me!). Thank you Christine!

Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere, the staff and the building. We were greeted and told where everything was. The changing spaces were spacious and really modern. Lockers were a great size and the showers were lovely. Swimming pool was so relaxing with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Restaurant food was easy to order and not too expensive. Food tastes great and quality was amazing. Had a cheeky cocktail and that went down a treat. The spa facility was beautiful! Great architecture and a great history. The treatment was perfect, great room temperature, relaxing and I could have stayed for longer! Will be back!

Had a lovely experience at Bannatynes Spa at Fairfield. Me and my mum decided to treat ourselves for my birthday to a spa day. The spa facilities were lovely as they have been before and it was so relaxing to be able to use the sauna and steam room after our swim. I will say the best part of the day was our treatments. We both had mini back massages and facials. Christine was my masseuse and she was amazing! She made me feel so relaxed and gave me great advice on how to look after my skin. She was so lovely and sweet and I truly couldn’t have asked for someone better to give me my birthday massage!

I had the absolute pleasure of a deep tissue massage with Jamila, and it was outstanding from start to finish. She was professional, kind, and genuinely listened to what I needed. For the first time, I felt like I had a real massage—targeted, effective, and exactly what my body needed, unlike previous experiences elsewhere. Jamila’s skill and care made such a difference, and she’s the reason I’ll be coming back to Bannatyne Spa Fairfield. Thank you, Jamila, for not only easing my aches but also leaving me feeling refreshed and cared for.

Spa day. All staff very friendly. Facilities very good (full Technogym equipment). Food is good quality and reasonably priced. With vegan options :) Pool can get busy but if you’re just chilling and not using it to swim lengths it’s absolutely fine.

Lovely relaxing spa day, brilliant value for money with the 2 x 30min treatments. Mum and I had an express facial and back/neck/shoulder massage. It was lovely, we couldn't use the pool as a class was on but the sauna, steam and jacuzzi were fab! Great Gluten / Dairy free options for lunch too! We had a fab experience from start to finish x

I had a lovely weekend at the spa. We arrived at 2pm yesterday and left at 5.30pm today, once we had our afternoon tea. The pool is lovely and big however not enough space for everyone to sit round especially when it rains like today so noone is outside. Food in the restaurant was delicious, service could have been a little quicker at points but overall the staff were friendly and polite. Coffee lounge service was slow too, needed more than 1 person to cover.

Beautiful grounds and building. Super friendly relaxed but competent staff, good rooms and really nice well equipped spa facilities. The restaurant is great. Good breakfast options and a well constructed evening menu. Fast and friendly service. The only slight downside is in the older rooms there is no Aircon. If you need a cold room over summer it's definitely worth asking for a room with AC.

Had a wonderful stay at Henlow spa. Loved the aqua classes and stretch classes. Kim was so motivating and encouraging. Great job ! Super treatments and food was superlative. Facilities were great and gardens a real treat. Lots of space to relax and lots to do if you wish. Exceeded expectations.

A delightful venue in a beautiful setting. I enjoyed 2 treatments and the staff were competent, professional and knowledgeable. I had a lovely buffet lunch of which there was a great selection. The desserts were limited, but the main course options were lovely! We didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms as we were only day guests.

Jackie Harrup was one of the best waitresses we have met, along with every other member of staff at Champneys Henlow. But Jackie stood out to us as she was our server. She was so attentive and spent time to make us feel comfortable. We stayed in the Shepherds huts, beautiful, but if you don’t like bugs, stay away!!! Nature was beautiful though

I am black and experienced racism at this place. I requested a massage therapist who had done my head massage for a full body massage and was asked to pay about £20 extra which I immediately paid because why not? When my massage session was due, it was a different person who attended to me. A person who wasn’t as tender as the person I requested for. I didn’t mind because I was told the therapist I paid extra for wasn’t coming to work that day due to an emergency. After the massage, I came out to see the therapist I had requested going in to attend to someone else. At this point, I went to the reception to ask why they lied. They refused to say anything and I requested a refund immediately. Instead, I was asked if I wanted a foot massage to compensate for this. I was scared that if I went for the massage, the therapist might hurt me considering what I had just experienced so I didn’t accept this compensation and was consequently bullied out of getting my refund. I still suffer from anxiety thinking about how the staff made me feel. I work and pay my taxes, why should I be made to feel less like a person because of my skin?

A relaxing and luxurious weekend at Champneys Henlow. We enjoyed a gorgeous spa break, complete with two treatments as part of our experience. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout, though service at reception was occasionally slow, with the desk often unattended. The rooms could use a bit of modernising, but the picturesque surroundings more than made up for it. The food was a real highlight for us - absolutely delicious at every meal, with a wide variety of healthy options that left us spoilt for choice.

We dined in the cafe and walked around the well laid out gardens. 4 of us took the guided 1 hour tour which was led by Ross and Richard. There was so much information of which we knew little but Ross and Richard's knowledge was superb. Definitely recommend the tour.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. From a traditional full English breakfast to pancakes or smashed avocado on toast, Jordan’s Mill is definitely worth the drive. Staff are incredible, with a massive shout out to Sharon. An absolute powerhouse who was amazing. Friendly, attentive and I honestly thought she had a twin because she was everywhere! Touring the gardens after breakfast or lunch, is a treat for the senses, and walks off a bit of the amazing food.

Had afternoon tea and it was lovely, the sandwiches were delicious and the cakes were to die for. The service was excellent and very attentive, all in all a brilliant afternoon spent here and would highly recommend 10/10 thank you 😊

It was my first time coming to this spa with friends. Check in was easy, you do it on an electronic kiosk and you’re given a wristband that will be used for your locker and purchasing drinks. For food it’s a set platter to share between two. The chicken was bland but the other items like the soup and the sweet potato chips were delicious. The dessert was nice also. The drinks were delicious as well, particularly the juices, these were very refreshing. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made the experience more enjoyable. I appreciated their kindness and attentiveness. When going into the spa area there is a pool outside and there are several steam rooms. There was a salt room we went into but it wasn’t hot, but was still nice to sit inside of. They also have an ice room - which is a small room with an ice slab on the wall, this was nice to use to cool down. There was another room they had which was very misty and filled with stones, very hot and my friend enjoyed this one. It was relaxing to try the different rooms and lay in the pool. After you’re finished they have a shower room area but the hooks are located at the end, so you need someone to help you get your towel if you’re not at the end. They do have shower items in the cubicle like shower wash, shampoo and conditioner from ELEMIS. This was quite nice as it helped with my hair from what was done at the spa. There were also plenty of spaces to get ready - to dry your hair, apply face creams or do makeup. It was a very pretty layout and plenty of space for everyone. I really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it for others also.

Gone down hill massively. Went there yesterday and was over booked, not enough space anywhere completely overcrowded. Now you have to order your drinks via your phone which makes no sense. You go to a spa to relax not look at your phone. We left after 1hr because it was so busy and didn't feel safe leaving 40 robes on hooks with my phone in its pocket. Also my partner left her bikini in the changing rooms. Called today and it's been stolen. Management completely have there head in clouds. Used to be a nice place. Won't ever be going back.

I have been to this spa many times over the last ten years as I live locally and have always enjoyed my experience. The spa packages with food were great, as well as the treatments for special occasions. I’ve often booked these for my partners birthday as a special treat. Tonight was the first time my partner and I have returned to ‘relax’ after the end of a stressful week of work. Unfortunately, since the updates to the spa I no longer feel the same. We left after two hours as the facilities and pool were far too overcrowded to use, and it was not relaxing in the slightest. It seems what used to be quite a boutique and up market spa has turned extremely tacky. The ‘touchless’ treatments are not the same as a proper massage or facial; we had to share a room with another couple for a start. Which was a weird experience to say the least. We will not be returning again any time soon, which is a real shame, as we used to really enjoy this spa and the treatments/packages that were offered. I’m not sure who did their market research on this but I feel it’s going to be a big mistake. The vibe has completely changed and doesn’t seem to fit with the resort - it’s sad and very clearly just to make more money.

Wonderful small spa in a peaceful resort. There are well-equipped changing rooms and showers. The staff provides you with a robe and two towels, the check-in is very easy, the staff is super friendly. In the spa, there are five rooms (salt spa, soft humidity spa, another one which i think is aromatherapy and one 80-85 degrees hot spa). There is also an ice room which is helpful after a hot spa, it would be useful though to have more ice or cold temperature rooms available. There is an outdoor pool with warm water, and places to sit outside. You can also order drinks whilst enjoying the spa. It is super clean, and the time slots are of good length (i.e. 10am-1pm, 1.30-4.30pm). There's also the option to try/book the sound experience which i cannot comment on as I didn't try it. If you are in the area, I'd very much recommend this place.

I wanted to share my recent experience at this spa from this weekend. I used the toilet to start with, (hopefully not sounding too crude) once I finished my business, I pulled up my shorts and they were soaked in someone else’s urine. Yes, the floor was soaked in urine. The shorts were the ones I arrived in so I didn’t have any others to leave with. I decided to go to the help desk to complain. They were apologetic and agreed that the state of the toilets is unaccepted. I asked if they had anything I could wear, they decided to sell me a pair of shorts which weren’t expensive (£17) and gave me 50% off. They said 50/50 on the basis that I’m to share the blame of my experience. I didn’t kick up a fuss and paid the money, even though they should have taken full ownership. All of this is before I’d even stepped foot in the main facilities. The spa itself has lots of different rooms (steam and sauna), it’s a little small and it was frustratingly overcrowded. It took a good 30 minutes before my partner and I could even get into the pool. Lots of people drinking in the main pool which made the experience by far from relaxing. I had a bad experience and to be honest I would find it extremely hard to recommend anyone to visit this spa.

Went to the Y Spa 2 years ago and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Decided to go again on a Monday afternoon, unfortunately nowhere near the standard of our first visit. Incredibly overcrowded (we couldn’t get in the outdoor pool or have use of an outside lounger as these had all been reserved with dressing gowns). The food menu was also very limited at this time of day. A disappointing second visit and not sure we’ll be back based on this experience.

The spa at Wyboston Lakes is lovely and peaceful and very reasonable prices. The food is delicious and they are good for allergies and vegan options. The steam rooms and saunas are nice and clean. The outdoor pool is lovely and warm and calm. Recommend.
