Thoroughly enjoyed talking the self guided tour. The glass floor gives a unique view of the Thames, but can be slightly unnerving. The engine room has the two steam engines, used to power the bascules, on display. Over all, it's very good venue for money.

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in London and visiting it was a fantastic experience. The views from the bridge are stunning, both of the Thames and the city. Taking the Tower Bridge Exhibition tour made the visit even better, as it gave detailed insights into how the bridge was built and the fascinating mechanism behind its operation. Walking across the glass floor was a unique highlight too, giving a completely different perspective of the bridge and the river below.
The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to wait in a queue for entry, and on a sunny day this can feel a bit frustrating. Still, it’s not just a landmark to admire from outside, but also an educational and memorable experience to explore from within. Definitely worth visiting.
Walking near Tower Bridge is honestly one of the nicest things to do in London, especially if you’re trying to escape the busy streets without leaving the city. The view is unreal – you’ve got the bridge itself, which looks straight out of a postcard, the river Thames calmly flowing, and plenty of spots to just sit and chill.
There’s something peaceful about hearing the water and watching the boats go by, even when there are tourists around. At sunset, the whole area lights up in warm colours and it feels kinda magical. It’s also surprisingly clean and safe, even in the evening.
Loads of nice little cafes and street food stalls around if you fancy a bite, and the walk towards the south bank or down to St Katharine Docks is worth it too. You get a mix of old-school charm and modern city vibes. Would definitely recommend it for a date, a solo unwind walk, or just to take some beautiful photos.

The Tower Bridge is a great stop if you're in the nearby area, and provides about 30min to 1 hour diversion. Combined with the free audio tour, great views complete with partial glass floor in one section, historic awe of the building process, and gift shop at the end - I would highly recommend if you're in the area.
There are lifts for the tower, but I suggest/recommend you take the stairs getting some insight, facts and touch of history on the way up and down. There are benches to rest, toilets but no Air Con for most of it, however fans throughout provide plenty of relief - 84 degrees and it never felt sweltering inside.
Learn how the bridge was designed, constructed and changes over the years - in particular the engine room videos and presentation on divers were really great.
And whenever you're done walk along the Thames River path near the wharf and grab a bite to eat.
Tower Bridge is indeed an iconic and highly recommended destination for anyone visiting London. You've captured its essence perfectly!

Amazing! This was one of my favorite tours while in london. We bought our tickets which cost about $48. Place was packed. There is a cafe and a small gift shop inside, bathrooms of course. I would plan on spending at least 2 hours here if not 3. And then of course there's the crown jewels that speak for themselves. So much history here and so much to see I loved everything about this!

Wonderful experience. We travelled to Waterloo by train and hopped on boat to London Bridge for the Tower which was easy and entertaining. The Tower was fascinating, such history. The poppy installation was fantastic. A really good day.....but you need comfy walking shoes!

Crown Jewels clearly the highlight, and didn’t disappoint - displays nicely spaced out, not too much content to overload younger ones and up to date, but there’s also so much more to see.
Poppy display was superb, exotic animals, Yeoman tour and White Tower also worth the time, with the latter having interactive area for children.
Nice day out and good to take a picnic (though not lots of spaces to sit and eat).

Absolutely a wonderful time. As a tourist from the US, I cannot believe the amount of history in one place. You could spend an entire vacation at this site alone. Seeing highlights from the coronation amd seeing them in real life was fantastic. The displays in the White Tower were worth it alone

The London Eye offers some of the best views in the city—360° panoramas of the Thames, Big Ben, and the skyline. The ride is smooth and lasts long enough to really enjoy the scenery. Queues can get a bit long during peak hours, but they move quickly and are well-organized. Staff were friendly and the capsules were clean and comfortable. Definitely worth it, especially around sunset!
I’ve been wanting to take the kids on The London Eye for a while but I’m glad I waited until they were older otherwise I think they would have got bored after a while!
We came during the summer holidays so the weather was nice and the views were beautiful.
I pre booked for the best ticket prices and to take advantage of the £20 per adult and £18 per child special offers.
We enjoyed it and the kids were able to spot famous buildings which was fun 😁
The only let down was that there were alot of us in our cabin as we were grouped up with a large family with limited seating so after a while of standing i had to sit on the poles due to issues with my knee and the kids sat on the floor.
It was a busy day and I think the staff filled the cubicle to capacity
This is something to bear in mind for those that may have ailments or disabilities where they need to sit down.
Other than that it is worth the visit, we didn’t wait long in the queue and they also take pictures and give you a card with a QR code which can be scanned so you can purchase the pictures after your ride which is nice 😊

The London Eye is an interesting experience that I was glad that I went on, but I am not sure if I would recommend. It offers great views of the city but I understand that The Shard and Sky Garden also can do this. Heck, the coffee shop at Tate Modern also has great views and it is free to go up.
We had booked a time and were waiting for our slot, when we arrived 15 minutes early to join an extremely long queue. I was very surprised how quickly the line went and we actually boarded the ride at our allocated time. I suspect if we arrived early (within reason), we could have got on sooner rather than waiting around. Getting on and off was easy, even though the ride didn't stop. The entire trip lasted about 30 minutes and was very relaxing. Obviously the views were great, but I `think that I would have spent less time if I had gone up the Shard or Sky Garden, as the ride seemed to trudge along. The are definitely opportunities to get discounted tickets: book online or in the visitor centre or with the London Pass. Since the line went quick, I wouldn't pay extra for a fast path.

The climb is 334 steps up a narrow spiral staircase with just a simple metal railing, so this is not an experience for those with mobility issues or severe fear of heights. The first stretch is about 110 steps, with the rest broken into slightly shorter climbs and two rest stops along the way. Windows are few and far between, so you won’t have many chances to look outside during the climb.
At the top, you’ll visit the belfry and see the Great Bell — Big Ben itself — up close. Absolutely love London. And Big Ben is a must see / visit. It has been beautifully restored and looks grand as it should. Right next to the houses of Parliament and across from Westminster Abbey just down the road from Buckingham Palace. And then there is number 10. Definitely make time to go to this iconic land Mark.

It was really cool getting off the Westminster stop on the Tube and walking straight up to see Big Ben towering above it’s such an iconic sight. We didn't get to do the tour but coming off the tube and Big Ben being right there outside the station was pretty awesome. Its even bigger in person than I thought it would be. Really good angles from the station and out on the bridge.
Visited Big Ben while in London. Did you know its official name is the Elizabeth Tower, renamed in 2012 in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee — but everyone still calls it Big Ben. The site was impressive, with plenty of onlookers taking in the views. We spent about 30 minutes exploring and enjoying the surroundings. Fun fact: the minute hand is roughly the same length as a single-decker bus! Overall, it’s worth a quick stop and was one of the highlights of our trip. Saluti
Big Ben is an incredible and historic landmark, truly one of the most famous symbols of London. The architecture is beautiful, and seeing it up close is a memorable experience. It’s a place full of history and charm, and it represents the classic elegance of the city.
However, it’s a bit disappointing to see that some areas around it could be better maintained and cared for. Such an iconic site deserves more attention and preservation to keep its beauty shining for future generations.
Despite that, Big Ben remains a must-see attraction and one of the most remarkable places to visit in London.

We only had very limited time in London but this was somewhere we wanted to visit as we wanted to keep our costs low. The museum is free to enter but donations are welcomed.
Firstly, the place is enormous. Various exhibitions are available with literally hundreds of things to look at, probably even thousands.
It goes without saying that the place is very popular and often very busy so if you don't like crowds, do some research about your visit before you go.
We spent a lot of time looking at the Egyptian exhibitions as my wife is very interested in that particular part of history but we did also wander around the Greek, Roman and middle Eastern parts as well.
Both of us agreed that we would come back to visit but would definitely spend a whole day there as we felt rushed.
There are places to grab a drink and a snack inside the museum as well, which is very welcome.
It is worth noting that while backpacks are allowed, luggage is not. The shops nearby do offer a luggage storage solution.

Went on a Thursday in half term time, it was incredibly busy, loads of children! It was still a nice experience for my kids, they loved it.
You need a couple of days to visit the whole museum, especially if you are looking to study anything in particular.
Limited choices on thw food in the food court area and expect London prices but there is also a high end restaurant at the top. Own food and drinks are permitted only in the designated area.
We will definitely come again to see and study other areas.
A Must-see Museum! You can literally feel the history of the world here. It’s free to visit; however, when you think about all the pieces taken away from their motherlands, it does feel a bit bittersweet. :)

Visiting The National Gallery was truly a magical experience.

It was a wonderful experience. The museum has a good collection of Monet and Van Gogh paintings, which I really enjoyed. For just an afternoon, it’s possible to see everything without getting too tired, though you could easily spend a whole day if you want to study the works in detail. We visited on November 17, and there was also a Christmas market outside the museum, which added a very festive atmosphere.
A very spacious series of galleries housing some of the best known images in the international art world. With a restaurant and toilets and plenty of friendly guides you can easily spend a day here, or just pop in and revisit your favourites. It may look daunting from the outside but the new entrance makes the whole place accessible for anyone.
Children of any age will find something to look at and many school trips visit and no they don't disturb the 'grown ups'!
A teashop, restaurant, bookshop and well stocked shop make this a day, or two to remember.

Seeing such a collection of paintings for free is just amazing nowadays. There are beautiful paintings in every room. I could spend a day to visit it.
Just do not forged taking a map at the entrance as this is a pretty large museum. French, Spanish, Italian, English, Deutsche… painters from middle age to impressionists. A pretty large collection of Impressionists paintings that can rival with that of Musée d’Orsay in France.
Only the Louvre in France is more impressive (but far from being free) among all painting museums that I visited all other the world (with a special notice for Grenoble and Poitier’s painting museum that are great place to visit too).

I visited the National Gallery today and absolutely loved it. It’s an absolute must visit place when in London, and you can spend hours wandering from room to room, never running out of things to look at.
One of the highlights for me was seeing some of Monet’s pieces in person, a moment I’ve been looking forward to for so long. Standing in front of his work felt surreal, and it was worth the entire trip on its own. I highly recommend paying the galley a visit, especially because it’s free entry!
If you’re in London, you must visit this place. I stopped by during an 8 hour layover, and even though I couldn’t take my time the way I wanted to, it was absolutely worth it. The collection is stunning, wall after wall of masterpieces you could spend hours admiring. I barely scratched the surface and already felt amazed. I’ll definitely be coming back on a proper trip so I can truly enjoy and appreciate everything this museum has to offer.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield.
The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better.
As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.
As a visitor, you can’t ask for a better system to get about to major museums, etc. You get to ride with both the working class and executives alike.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.
These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point?

I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one.

Interesting to be and see inside this storied place. The State Rooms are interesting and the chance to see the royal art collection is a real treat. I also enjoyed the special exhibition of art produced on the King Charles’s travel over the years as well as the throne room. It’s crowded but manageable. I also visited the mews with the carriages and would recommend. My disappointment was the limited access to the garden. The website lists the Royal Gardens as one of the highlights and includes pictures of the rose garden and other select spots. Once on-site I learned that much of the garden, including the roses I hoped to see, is off-limits unless you book a special tour, which were all booked. This is not made clear on the website when booking. Also note that the amount of time they indicate for the palace tour is far too long unless you’re planning to eat in the cafe and do a lot of shopping in the gift shop. I listened to the entire tour and spent time in all of the rooms and it took me 45 minutes or so—they indicate 2 to 2.5 hours. This can be an issue if you are booking multiple timed elements at the palace or tickets elsewhere.
Tickets are not necessary for the changing of the guard. But I recommend standing on the fountain if you cannot get near the fence. You will need tickets for the States room tour. It's well worth with it.
Highly recommend the palace tour as the palace is quite stunning on the inside. Do buy the tickets in advance and show up right in time for your entry because there’s no wait then! The gift shop also has some quality souvenirs so I highly recommend it. Also, the palace gardens were my favourite gardens in London ✨✨✨✨
The palace is absolutely beautiful inside, but no photography. We really enjoyed our visit there. It's is a good bit of walking around but benches to rest on. There is a 20 minutes walk one you get outside to get back out to the main street but once again plenty of benches to rest.

Visited during the changing of the guard I really didn’t know what I was in for. The crowds and fences were ridiculous and the event was not that impressive to me. I could’ve skipped it and been fine. Because of the event I really didn’t get to see the palace exterior and gates very well due to large crowds and barricades. Unless the changing of the guard is a bucket list thing you really want to see I would recommend not going during that event if you’re wanting to get a good view of the palace.
Strolling by Buckingham Palace with a friend in the afternoon was unforgettable. A lively crowd gathered out front, and to our surprise, the King himself exited! The grand palace looked stunning in the sunlight, and the nearby fountain added to the royal charm. Truly a special moment!

We did a food tour here via secret food tours over the Thanksgiving holiday and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend! So many things to see in Camden market and so many delicious restaurants! This would be a great place to get souvenirs to bring back for friends and family as well. Come hungry so you can try a bunch of different food vendors!

I went to Camden Market with my family. There’s an incredible variety of food from all over the world. We each grabbed something different, and everything was delicious. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours just trying different foods.
One thing to note: it does get very crowded, especially during peak hours. But honestly, that just adds to the energy of the place. It’s buzzing with people from everywhere, and there’s always something happening around you.
We also stopped by the vintage store next to the market, which had a great selection of retro clothes and unique pieces. It was a nice change of pace from the usual high street shopping.

A vibrant market, lots of shops that sell leather bags, wallets, blouses, hats, vintage clothing, paintings, spices, etc, lots of food choices, wraps, hamburgers, fries, soups, sandwiches, salads, stirfrys etc for lunch and dinner and treats like ice cream, fancy coffees, I enjoyed the environment with old brick buildings, nice planter displays, the many umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, vintage farm style decor and art to explore. Lots of people here so if you don’t like crowds this isn’t the place for you.
If you want to use the washroom it will cost you money usually around one pound.

in our opinion this was a THINLY veiled tourist trap . everything here is super pricey (i acknowledge that the power of my currency affects my perception of pricing here) and most of them seem to be foods from other countries (they give free samples though, which was nice) even the clothes were giving street stores in Thailand for quadruple the price and jewellery was 100% drop shipped from China. the only store worth looking at was the digicam one cause at the very least the owner seemed knowledgeable. the tinier market down the road also seemed More drop shipped and the owners were rudeee

Had a good time with family, spent around 2hrs at the venue.kudos to the entire team for excellent crowd control.
Around 80% of the wax statue look stunning and fantastic, rest felt like a dummy one. The special attraction was "Spirit of London" ride, which is a themed taxi ride through the city's history, and not a conventional train ride. The ride uses iconic black cabs to take visitors on a 5-minute journey through London's history and cultural events which also includes wax figures, immersive exhibits, and a 4D cinema.
Had a great time! There’s quite a collection to explore, with some truly fascinating stories, science section and even a few spooky horror rooms.

I had an amazing experience at the Madame Tuassads London. I have already been to other places but this one was different. In addition to various wax statues there was a ride which was very beautiful. Also there was 3D show which was star of the whole lot. Would highly recommend even if you have visited other wax museums. Its clean and wait time is not much.
Madame Tussauds was such a fun experience! The wax figures look unbelievably real ,it’s like walking through a celebrity world. The Marvel and Royal Family sections were my favourites. It does get busy, but totally worth it for the photos and the atmosphere.
I was a bit hesitant about going here, if it's really worth the money... And it is!
We enjoyed this interactive experience very much! It's fun and I very much appreciated it is not just the wax figures (which are impressive by themselves), but I was excited about the Marvel 3D experience, the little "taxi" drive through the history of London or the scary horror cellar :)
What was dissapointing was the price of the photos they take for you (25 pounds?!).
But otherwise perfect way to spend a memorable afternoon (at least 3 hours recommended!), totally recommended.
PS: pleasant surprise at the end of our visit was the London Eye tickets for 10£ offer.

Hatfield House, Park and Gardens is a grand Jacobean stately home located on the site of Elizabeth I's childhood home. The house was built in 1611 by Charles Cecil and is set within the picturesque 42-acre Great Park. It features stunning examples of Jacobean artisanship, including the famous Grand Staircase and Great Hall where members of the Royal Court were entertained.
One of the most beautiful houses we have ever visited. The trip here was made so much more special by Dermot. A huge thank you for making us feel so welcome Dermot. We felt like we got the VIP treatment, you are a wonderful asset to such a magnificent house, it was a pleasure to meet you.
The staff make this place. They are incredibly kind and have a wealth of knowledge. It was not busy at all when we visited which added to the charm. It’s also impeccably kept. We did the wood walk after we visited the house which I would also recommend. I was so impressed I’ll be telling everyone to visit.

I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman.

Visited the gardens only. Some of the most beautifully curated public gardens in SE England. Very lucky to be able to visit the East Garden which is only open to the public on certain Wednesdays. Some nice woodland walks as well although I would have to say that these aren't fantastically signposted.
It was very lovely place to visit. Free parking and only short walk to the house and gardens. Very brilliant, smiley and pleasant people work there, it was not a problem for them to help us use the lift a few times,so thank you.! It makes the visit so much easier and nicer.
It's not easy to get around everywhere if you have a buggy or especially the walker..

What a gorgeous hidden gem just north of London crammed full of history. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides in each room.
Check out their website as they put on ‘festival’ type events. The grounds are well kept. Only downside for me was you have to pay extra to go into the palace (£8 I believe). The ‘marmite’ fountain at the back of the house is interesting. I loved it.

I don't even know where to start to describe this fantastic place!
We spent about five hours there and loved every single minute of it. There is just so much to see!
We first visited the Gardens, which are stunning. Then we spontaneously opted for a guided tour of the Old Palace, which absolutely blew us away. I must admit that when we had decided to visit Hatfield House, we weren't even aware of the Old Palace and its significant history, so it felt like an extra bonus. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but also extremely engaging - a pure joy to listen to and get lost in the stories from days gone by.
And then the house itself, which is absolutely marvellous in every respect. The staff in each of the rooms were genuinely eager to tell their story and engage with the visitors, so we were able to have long chats, which we thoroughly enjoyed!
A long walk to the Oak Tree and back completed our visit, which exceeded our expectations by far.
It didn't go unnoticed that unlike most historic houses in Britain, the gift shop was mostly stocked with local produce, rather than the usual souvenirs. But although we couldn't find anything to buy, we didn't even mind that. I got the feeling that despite all its fascinating history and splendour, Hatfield House doesn't seem nearly as commercialised as many similar places (we were surprised about the small number of visitors in the middle of summer), and that would actually seem a good thing. As a result, our visit had a very intimate touch, and we felt individually valued, rather than being a part of big masses of tourists passing through.
Our visit turned out to be the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the UK!
Huge gardens & park with multiple routes for avid walkers / dog walking & a fantastic set up for a lovely morning / family day out. Easy parking, we visited their shops and cafe in their entry area, headed to the loo, got ice cream and made our way around their grounds in a beautiful sunny day!
Might feel expensive for a walk but a worthy day out for family / friends and a great adventure location with food, facilities, and beautiful nature!
Head here for a great day out when the sun is up!
You can feel the history at Hatfield house. You have the spectacular house, built by Robert Cecil, along with the old palace, where Elizabeth 1st and Edward would have been bought up. You can almost imagine them playing in the wonderful West Gardens as you walk around.
The staff are full of information and love to share their wealth of knowledge, just ask.
After the house, we went for a walk through the woods, down to the picturesque river.
My mother is in a wheelchair, but we had no problems getting around. Everywhere is accessible. Just be prepared for some inclines in the woodland walks.

Went hiking with my friends. Got the route from strava with a restaurant on the way. Grab some beers and it's a moderate hike from the bottom. You can even grab some wine from denbies and continue your walk up to the top. Its one of the most beautiful hikes in surrey.

It was a wonderful biking trip from Purley to Box Hill on a ebike. At 68 years of age I could cycle 50 KMS and explore British Countryside. Worth the effort.
I love this place as it's 30 minute drive for me. A good place to enjoy nature, trails and good food options within 5 minutes walk. Plenty of parking available, and kids can enjoy the place as they have Children specific Trails too with few nature activities that my child enjoys! Definitely one of my favourite place in the UK.
Did Box Hill, Lodge Hill and Juniper Hill Circular that having up and down always but the terrain within 200m that so far not too hard. The view of box hill is so good.
Great views, National Trust car park saves a hike up the hill (cost is free for National Trust members, prices on attached photos for non-members); follow the NT sign up the zig zag Road. We did the stepping stone walk on a warm but mercifully not sunny day in August. It was doable in comfy trainers although it did involve a very steep descent down the steps from the car park to the stepping stones and then we followed the path along the river (although you can't actually see the river) back to the village where the zig zag road starts going up the hill. The path back up the hill starts just to the left of the hotel on the roundabout and is very steep, so you need to be fully mobile and relatively fit to get up there. It looked very slippery for those coming down that way as it was just a gravel path on a steep hill, not steps like going down to the stepping stones.
We did the whole walk slowly with a 4 year old who definitely needed carrying for the steepest parts and with a few stops to catch out breath and have a snack it took us approx 2 hours. It was a nice walk but we didn't realise how steep the slopes would be and wished we had taken more water!
Beautiful place for some serious incline hiking, or just a gentle walk depending on what route you take. Perfect for training for a big climb/hike up a mountain, also nice for a dog walk with some really great views! Definitely bring plenty of water with you and ideally some hiking poles if you’re a bit unfit or need that extra support if you’re doing the longer, hilly routes as it is VERY steep in places! A cafe is situated at the car park but it’s very expensive. There’s also toilets there and usually an ice cream van in the car park in sunny weather (again, extortionate prices (£5.50 for a small whippy ice cream) but it’s there if you want it! :)
There’s free water fountains there though which is handy for refilling your bottle. Parking is around £10 for the day, or free for disabled badge holders and national trust members.

I had a great time at Box Hill! The scenery on the drive up was beautiful, and the 20-30 minute hike to the top was definitely worth it. It was so peaceful and the views were stunning.
The only minor issue was parking. We ended up having to use the private car park in front of the hotel, which cost £4.95 for 2 hours. Just something to be aware of if you're planning a visit! Despite that, it was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend it for a peaceful walk with amazing views.
Great place for a day out with family or friends. Walking shoes are recommended. Be prepared for a moderate difficulty, lots of steps parts ( on the way from The Stepping Stones up to Box Hill we accounted 278) . Beautiful views from every side. At the top is a parking, if you are a National Trust member is free if not you have to pay. Coffee shop is cosy, with lots of choices of food and drinks, helpful and kind staff, toilets available.

We stayed in the Safari Hotel for 4 nights and had the best time! The room was clean and large which was great as we could put some toys out on the floor for our 14 month old. The one thing that stood out the most was the friendliness of the staff. Every single person we came into contact with from the reception team, cleaners and restaurant staff were friendly, helpful and polite. On the first morning our breakfast was served in the Temple Restaurant and we were greeted by Joanne who blew us away with her attentiveness and thoroughness to show us exactly where everything was. We felt so welcome. The next morning and for the rest of our stay we had breakfast at the Zafari restaurant where Julie looked after us. Julie was AMAZING with our daughter and would make a special effort to come over every morning to check we were okay and play with our daughter. Julie would sing songs and play with her and it really made us feel we were in the right place for our family. Julie is a STAR. We enjoyed 2 days in the park itself and loved every part of it. Seeing the animals was our favourite as this is something we could all do as a family. We had a great stay and will definitely be back. Thank you! 🙂

So much to do for all of the family our age range was 6-11 and there was only 1 ride the 6yr old couldn't go on so if you have thrill seekinging younger ones I would recommend Chessington but also the gruffalo ride and room on a broom we're amazing gentle fun the was perfect for a little (or big) one that doesn't like going too fast.

I’ve been visiting Chessington ever since I was a kid, and now I get to bring my own children here! The park has retained much of its charm from when I was younger. My daughters are 8 and 2, and there are plenty of rides and attractions suitable for both of them to enjoy.
It’s great to see the park continuing to evolve with exciting additions like the Jumanji area and the upcoming Paw Patrol attraction. However, I do feel that some of the older rides could use a bit more attention — we got stuck on the Gruffalo ride, and the Vampire ride (my very first rollercoaster!) was unfortunately closed. I was really looking forward to sharing that nostalgic experience with my daughter.
Overall, Chessington is still a fantastic family day out and a place full of wonderful memories. We’ll definitely be back once the new areas and rides open up!
A very good family theme park. There is a wide variety of attractions, including a good selection of rollercoasters for those wanting rides of the slightly more thrilling type. There are also many younger oriented rides.
Disappointing Experience at Chessington Adventures
I spent around 45 minutes stuck in traffic just trying to get into the park, and then another 30 minutes driving around the car park looking for a space. Even though we paid full price for our tickets, we were only able to go on about 3–5 rides the entire day because of how extremely busy it was.
The signboards claimed the waiting time was 30 minutes, but that’s completely inaccurate — it took at least double that for every ride. The park itself looks nice, but the whole experience was ruined by the endless queues and poor crowd management.
Overall, it was an awful experience and definitely not worth the time or money. I wouldn’t want to visit again.
I visited Chessington World of Adventures today with my family and had a really good time. The weather was lovely, which always helps, and I was impressed with how easy it was to get on the rides. Most of them had little to no queue at all, so we could go straight on, which was fantastic with young children. The kids really enjoyed themselves and there was a nice mix of rides suitable for their ages. On the downside, some of the rides could definitely do with a bit more cleaning and maintenance, as a few looked quite worn. I also noticed a bit of a rat problem near some of the bins, which was unpleasant to see. Overall though, we had a very enjoyable day out and I would recommend it to families, especially if you can go on a quieter day like we did.
Lovely day with the children, my only criticism is the time it takes to get onto the ride, the cost to upgrade is just too much, but the time wasted on getting people off and on I think could be improved to speed things up. The guys in the ticket office were brilliant after some issues with my tickets not coming through they sorted it very quickly.
Chessington is an all rounded place to visit as it both has animals and rides!!! The ride queue time is sometimes long but you get to buy quick access tickets. Sometimes even when the queue was just 5 minutes you had to walk through the long queue path which sometimes can be annoying. The park has something for everyone. Not much choice in food especially if you are health conscious but you get to bring your own picnic. Staff were friendly in the park- not so much in the car park. The refill stations for the cups you can buy for £18 were few and not well sign posted and the ones stationed outside were covered in wasps. The ones in the sweet shop were great!! They also don’t let u refill for ten minutes which was also annoying cos I got a couple of wasps in my first drink!!
The rides were good. The animals look healthy and happy. I had a very good day out here.

Enjoyed the tea and train tour at the wine estate. Afternoon tea was delicious (both savoury and sweet, and there was plenty to go around). Would have liked a bit more instruction / organisation from the team about what the experience entailed. The hotel restaurant team were not prepared to receive us after the tour finished so there was a bit of waiting around which interrupted the momentum of what was otherwise a fab day. The wine was great too!
Considering this is a working vineyard it's great that there is open access for walkers and you are able to take in the stunning views and get up close to the grapes!
Has a spacious gift shop and as a relief to older walkers the toilets are free to use!
Had the best stay and wine tour at Denbies!! Eduardo at the hotel gave us a 5 star stay!! Even put the heaters on outside and let us finish our bottle of wine there after dinner. Thank you Eduardo for making our stay extra special

The sheer scale of St Albans Cathedral, a structure of profound history and weight, provided the perfect canvas for the Poppy Fields light installation by Luxmuralis last night. It was more than an event; it was a deeply moving, sensory experience designed for quiet contemplation and remembrance. The massive, soaring architecture of the Nave, usually bathed in the soft glow of natural light or high electric lamps, was utterly transformed by darkness and vibrant digital projection.
This an absolutely stunning building dating originally from the Norman period but with additions over the centuries. The place was a pilgrimage site long before the Norman's arrived and the tomb of St Alban is still a pilgrimage site today. The cathedral possesses the longest nave of any cathedral in Britain and there are a number of medieval frescoes still visible; fascinating even if somewhat faded.
Being there you imagine that the place is nearly 1000!!!!! Years old. Some buildings were built from the Romans bricks. It is the oldest and one of the most significant church in England. This church saw everything. Besides that, town is beautiful, going there you should have enough time. It is hard to find the parking lot.
Absolutely enjoyed my visit. A stunning place that showcases its long history through a mix of architectural styles. I just loved every single detail, from the floor and columns to the ceiling.
Enjoyed our visit there. They have a free guided tour of the cathedral which runs for about an hour; I strongly recommend it. The entry is free too!

This is such an amazing park, for people living around it’s a bliss. It is such a large and lovely place. Large tress with water bodies running canals gives a wholesome feel of forest and countryside.
Amazing and beautiful park for walks with your dog. It has a lot to offer not only to pet owners but also to parents or anyone who enjoys nature 2h free parking included but remember to take a ticket even for free period.
There are at least 2 cafe points there, these are a bit pricey but they have good coffee.
The park is our lifeline. The cafes are fantastic so as the people. I feel relaxed and overwhelmed with natural feelings. We also enjoy the fireworks every year. It’s a great experience.
I recently visited Cassiobury Park for the Bake Fest event, and it was a really lovely experience. The park itself is beautiful — spacious, green, and well looked after, with plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.
The Bake Fest was a real highlight: so many stalls with delicious baked goods, as cakes and pastries. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it felt like a great community event.
Cassiobury Park is already a great place to spend time, whether for a walk, picnic, or just to relax outdoors, and events like Bake Fest make it even more special. I’d definitely recommend visiting, especially when something like this is happening!

Our first visit to the Harry Potter Studios in London was truly magical!
The staff were so friendly and everyone wished my little girl a happy birthday after noticing her badge from the information desk, which made the day extra special.
The sets, costumes, creatures, models, and special effects were absolutely incredible. The information throughout was fascinating, and the memorial to one of the artists who passed away was a beautiful and heartfelt touch.
You can really feel the spirit of the films here with the dedication, creativity, and family bond between the cast, crew, and production team shines through every display.
The shops, café, and food were fantastic too!We travelled three and a half hours to visit, and it was completely worth it.

Amazing place! Its been many years since I was last there and its nice that more things have been added in that time. Went during the dark arts time and was fun to see the death eather preforming at different locations around the studio. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Harry Potter! The lay out is brilliant and just getting to see how it was all made is amazing.
Where do I start!
Absolutely amazing experience. A must visit for all the potter heads out there. Being a core fan of the book, the movie sets was truly a visual treat.
I visited during the Dark Arts theme right after Halloween. The entire tour looked like a carefully planned adventure. The atmosphere felt do lively - kudos to the employees and the guides. A kind employee even took my picture (I was on a solo trip!).
I saw the butter beer had mixed reviews. But I personally devoured it. It was refreshing after a long walk. Food was alright, not a fan of the unsalted fries.
Some spaces did feel a bit rushed, specially people pushing and hovering around impatiently. Could see the kids engaging a lot with the sets.
The photo booths are cute, however felt like a rip-off to have a poster print for £20! Considering the high turnaround rate, they could reduce the price. The broom videos looked a bit tacky but would be a fun try out for kids.
Loved the small performance by the Death Eaters who kindly let us take pictures together!
Cried myself through the pricey souvenirs, but the butter beer packs were a steal!
For folks who can’t find the tickets during the holidays, keep checking every single day twice. I got mine on a random day check, and snagged it right away! They were kind enough to swap me to a different slot (which I found again), without additional charges!
Overall worth every penny!
We had arranged a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio for our daughter’s birthday, as she’s crazy about Harry Potter. We were greeted by Menaka at the ticket collection counter. She was incredible!! 😃 Super friendly and charismatic in every way, and a true potterhead too! Our daughter was fully engaged in conversation with Menaka who shared all the wonderful things to look out for whilst on the tour. We gained tips on how to manage our time during the tour, which took 5 hours in total, including a break at the Butterbeer Bar. Menaka also gave our girl a birthday badge and several other goodies, which truly delighted her. We were amazed by the genuine kindness shown to make our daughter feel special 💓 We had arrived over an hour earlier than our scheduled tour time, so Menaka encouraged us to enjoy lunch in the Food Hall. We loved it! All dishes were very tasty and generous in portion, so we were fully prepared for the grand tour 🤩 As a birthday girl, our daughter was given the special privilege to open the door to Hogwarts! 🎉 From then on, the tour was outstanding. Spectacular sets, fun green screen experience and entertaining death eater performances. Beware of the Dementors and Acromantulas in the forbidden forest! 😨 Overall, a superb day out made extra special by all staff members, though Menaka was our favourite!! 🌟
Went on the small group tour. We were meant to skip queues but we didn't skip the queue we just skipped the bit we were going to see. But it was still worth it to get all the amazing little facts that the guide gave us. We went when it was hogwarts in winter.
The food here is super expensive! You can take tour own food but i felt like it was part of the experience so just went with it.
Remember to get your free passport so you can get your stamps as you go round 👍
The tour was 4hrs with a 1hr break. We went back in so in total spent 6hrs there and definitely could have spent longer. Take your time and make sure you make the most out of the full day.
We visited on a weekend, expecting it to be busy, but boy were we surprised at exactly how busy it was going to be. After a fair bit of queuing and somewhat rude security personnel at the bag check, we finally got through! The whole complex is huge and be prepared for a lot of time walking, standing and walking some more (reminded me of Disneyland) to get anywhere.
However, it is really worth it once you can get over this and that is speaking as someone who isn't a huge HP fan. The work on display is amazing and the attention to detail so very impressive. The displays are well thought out, but do make sure you can stomach the high price of food and gifts!

WWT Arundel is a 60-acre wetland reserve managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, located near Arundel Castle. It offers nature walks, boat tours, and birdwatching opportunities. The center features a variety of swans, ducks, geese, and other wildlife.
This is a beautifully picturesque and outstanding WWT Reserve near Arundel with a host of things to see and do including Wetland Discovery Boat Safari, Wildlife Hides, Wetland Secrets House, Waterside Walk, Pelican Cove, Coastal Creek Aviary and Reedbed Boardwalk. The Wetland Discovery Boat Safari is an absolutely fantastic and beautiful peaceful ride on a boat through one of the many waterways at the reserve and these boat rides cost an extra £3 per person on top of the base admission fee into the reserve, which is extremely reasonable and during the boat rides you can admire the beautiful waterways of the reserve and also see wildlife such as Mute Swans, Pike and Mallard Ducks and there is a great narration from the boatman on what wildlife there is to see. The boat safaris run at various times intervals throughout the day and information is available at the reception with regard this. The boat safari is a lovely wonderful relaxing experience. There are great some walks around the reserve where you can admire some fantastic picturesque views of the reserve and the local area and during your walk around the reserve you can wander into the various hides such as the Lapwing hide and Sandmartin hide where you can catch a great glimpse of the ponds but also see Sandmartins, Canada Geese, Tufted Ducks and Pochards. There is a Duckery where you can see some further Wetland Birds including Emperor Geese, Hawaian Geese, Swan Ducks and Mandarin Ducks which look in great condition and well looked after. There is the Pelican Cove where you can see Dalmatian Pelicans which look wonderfully imposing and look amazing on the eye and there is talk and feed of the Pelicans where you can learn further interesting facts about them and also seeing them being fed is a great sight to see. The Wetland Secret Plant House you can see and smell some Wildflowers that are on display in there and it gives off a great wild aroma. In the Coastal Creek Aviary you can see Eider Ducks which are great to see. There is a pond dipping area which is great for little ones to look for insects and understand nature. There is other areas to mention such as the Wildlife Garden with great plant life to see. There is a cafe on site selling a great variety of refreshments at reasonable prices and there is a nice gift shop selling a variety of souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall this is an absolute amazing and a thoroughly outstanding place to visit, which makes for a pleasant and relaxing day out. Definitely well worth a visit whilst in Arundel.

This reserve is a gem. It is compact, but diverse. It was also remarkably uncrowded for a late August Saturday. We saw quite a range of wild birds. I would recommend the boat safari. Even though we did not see a lot of birds, it was a true "Nature Watch mindfulness moment". The staff were very welcoming and helpful (even when we were among the last in the shop after official closing time). The cafe makes a good cup of coffee and there we a great selection of sweet treats (including vegan cakes).
I brought my elderly Mum and we had a wonderful time wondering around, watching the gorgeous wetland birds. Mum has a walking frame, was able to walk on the even tracks and was glad to be able to sit down whenever she needed to. We enjoyed pumpkin spice lattes and carrot cake in the café too!
Beautiful place, birds are awesome, Pelicans were very cool!
Calm and quiet, lots of information from info boards and staff, lots of fun routes.
We went will small children who listen well, there are areas that are very close to water, may be worth taking reins or pushchair for very little ones.
We went here over October half term and loved it. We stayed from 10 am until 3pm doing all the different activities etc. they had lots of Halloween related activities like wand making and potion making. Then we did a boat ride through the wetlands. The kids rand wild and loved being outside and seeing all the birds. We brought our own picnic, which I recommend to do.
Arundel Wetland Centre offers an excellent place to relax and observe various birds and wildlife. The centre is wheelchair accessible with excellent parking. There is a very good cafe offering food, cakes and beverages and a good gift shop. Thoroughly worth a visit.
A great family experience. We were delighted to see a kingfisher from the cafe window! Lots of unusual birds too. Cafe offered simple food but very tasty.
WWT Arundel hosted us for a team development day. It was a beautiful view from our room and they provided us with a delicious lunch. If you’re looking for something different as a meeting venue…

We really enjoyed our visit. So much better that we thought it would be. We visited all parts and needed five hours to do so.
The castle is stunning to see close up. The interior is vast. The gardens excellent. All very well maintained.
Unlike National Trust properties all the guides are paid, not volunteers. They know the history well. The views across the countryside from the battlements and lovely.
I recommend visiting. It is worth every penny of the entrance fee.

A must see. The castle is huge and very interesting to visit. One can see the different periods of time of its occupation. The interiors exhibit very well reconstructed rooms.
The garden is very rich and diverse. The stumpery was our favorite part, in particular thanks to the autumn colours.

Stunning castle for history, art, and design lovers! Walking through the castle and keep felt like entering one of my many childhood drawings. The weather was lovely and the gardens made me si happy—there are greenhouses to visit, a rose garden, ponds, and so many wonderful interiors for a great day trip from London. Thank you!
Such an incredible experience! Visiting from the states, so I don't get a lot of castle tours, but this one was simply exceptional. From the gardens, to the castle tour, to the guides, and the cafe, we left with an amazing experience and tons of stunning shots! Highly recommend planning for a sunny day to enjoy the beautiful gardens. Truly an unforgettable experience! The setups were stunning to see and the staff was more than friendly and informative. Plus, the food was great! We shared a sausage roll and pasty, but ate it too quickly to snap a photo! If you're in the area, or wanting to make a day trip to the south, can't suggest Arundel further! It took us three to four hours to clear the grounds and castle altogether- it's worth the ticket!
Lovely place. Bit pricey, but the castle and grounds are huge, so you can spend most of the day there. It's really well set up, with a specific route that takes you through the whole castle and learn about its history. The gardens are equally stunning. Great visit. Would recommend.
Google's 50 picture limit means I can't show you the superior quality of this place. My favourite castle in the country, somewhere I've always wanted to visit, and by a long way the best one I've ever been to.

The Duke of Norfolk is a very lucky man, to own this place must be a very special experience.
11th century castle has impressive grounds and you can explore the castle. Very informative volunteers who are happy to showcase the part of the castle they are located in. Beautiful gardens. The gift shop is lovely. One of the first houses to be fitted with electrical lights. Closes soon in early November
The most beautiful castle I've ever been too. Have visited before pre baby and did the whole castle, but attended again recently to visit the gardens only as had the baby in the pram which is not accessible in the castle for prams. It was absolutely stunning and better than I remembered. Looked extra lovely in the sunshine. Gardens were beautiful. The garden cafe was great, friendly lady there. Toilets also clean and spacious. We also met the lovely little puppy Titus who was wondering the grounds with it's owner.

The Arundel Cathedral of Our Lady & St Philip Howard is a stunning example of French-Gothic style architecture, adorned with intricate stained-glass rose windows. Constructed in 1873 and situated high above the market town, it is an impressive sight both from afar and up close. The cathedral is well maintained and has clean facilities, but parking may be challenging during busy times. During the Lenten season, all statues within are draped in purple fabric.
The cathedral is beautiful. It stands above the town at the top of a hill. Lots of history and gothic architecture. It has one of the most beautiful organs i have seen! There is no entrance fee, but you make a donation.

We visited during the flower festival. The building is already so beautiful, but was even more enhanced with all of the gorgeous flower displays. You could tell that so much work and thought had gone into each and every design. Entry is free, but they do ask for donations to help fund the show and cathedral understandably. During the flower festival there were also lots of stalls around.
Loved the turrets as it gave Catherdral different look from our more traditional ones. Lovely high fan vaulted nave (more like a French design). If visiting the castle then worth popping in here too, walking distance.
Free to go in and wallet around. Beautiful Cathedral inside, not overly big but good to spend 30+mins in if you just want to look. Worth checking online what time services etc are so it's definitely open to walk around at the time you want to go. I didn't see a toilet so not sure if there was one. There is a small gift shop there that is usual price for these kind of shops but not overly expensive so we did buy something, especially as it didn't cost to go in. Parking can be had in the road outside for free. We have been twice, once on a summer's day and once on a quieter autumn day and both times we managed to find parking.
If you enjoy looking round beautiful churches then this is definitely worth a visit and the town of Arundel is a few mins walk down the hill and there is another old church over the road you can also visit. Definitely worth a stop off.
Incredibly beautiful building, reminiscent of Westminster in architecture. If you look outside, there are many different statues and meticulous work. Inside there is nothing special, but you can sit and enjoy the sunlight coming in
Visiting Arundel to finally get to visit Arundel castle. Visited the cathedral as part of our stay.
The church was built by Henry XV Duke of Norfolk.
The building was complete in just 3 years and opened 1st July 1873.
The cathedral is very impressive and can been seen from most parts of Arundel as high on the hill.
There is free on street parking to the side of the Cathedral. With a good pub st Mary's in the gate next to it.
The cathedral has some beautiful stained glass windows and decorative church organ.
Well worth a visit.
Some of the best views are from inside the gardens at Arundel castle.
Make sure you also visit St Nicolas Church just over the road.

Absolutely beautiful. We come here every now and then and it’s always great for a walk with the dogs, on your own, or I say hello to my grandpa whose ashes are scatted here. There’s loads of space for flying kites and watching the gliders take off. The cafe is dog friendly, which is amazing. Not impressed with the jams sold there, it’s not local, it’s simply just store bought and relabelled.

Perfect location for a weekend getaway. I visited during a kite festival and loved it! There’s parking available and plenty of hiking trails with stunning landscapes
Parking is £3.50 or free if you’re a National Trust member. Incredible views and walks, especially for dog walking. The main hill overlooks the London Gliding Club so it’s good fun to watch the tow planes taking off. Theres a dedicated area for kit flying too. There is a large national trust cafe and shop atop the hill, prices are not too bad and the shop stocks some lots of locally produced products (jam, honey, oil, chutneys).
Fantasitic views. I went with my mother in law and kids. We were able to use the wheelchair in case she cant walk. Fantastic service, they also have mobility scooters and small bikes for children under 5. I was surprise how well prepared the kiosk was.. There is possibility to use their overcoats, raincoats, warm blouses and wellies if u forgot but for lids only under 10... absolutely great idea... I noticed there are some activities going on and there was full list of things but i lost leaflet. We used main building for loo and its large and clean. We bougt second hand books !!! another great idea. It all looks really nicely run. All great! Views amazing. Was a bit windy but we enjoyed looking at gliding planes and it wax such fun. We are going back soon...
A nice place with a good scenic view for a day out, but the public toilets and café closed very early, around 5 pm. More concerning is the lack of public toilets, especially considering the needs of families, children, and younger visitors who often stay quite late.
Quite disappointing, considering the management team's awareness of the fact that toilets are essential. Even though they shut the toilet doors at 5 pm, they could have implemented a payment system to allow the toilets to be used.
I notice people are going to the loo behind the trees.
Overall, a good place to visit, but considering the basic amenities, I suggest avoiding it, especially if you are travelling with small children.
Great place to visit ! Has a nice cafe with great lunch and breakfast menus along with tea and coffee options . Views from this place are amazing and also the walk on the paths are great too ! Parking seems reasonable too . Arrived around 1:30 pm and it was only £3 till 8 pm .
It is pretty windy near the cafe but is a great place to fly kites which you can bring your own or buy from the cafe ( but expensive though cheapest one is £14) .
Overall a great place to visit. Would definitely come again on a sunny day !!

We visited Whipsnade Zoo today as a birthday treat for me. As with every other time of visiting Whipsnade we had the best day. Today was great as it was quieter and the weather was amazing also. We got to see nearly all the animals and the staff were lovely. BIG shout out to the volunteer staff!! We had some great conversations with various volunteers. The food was very good and a simple but effective menu caters for all. The gift shop is great and not overly pricey. Thoroughly enjoyed today. Thank you to all the staff at the zoo!!

I had a wonderful day at Whipsnade zoo today. Highlights of the day were the brown bear, elephants, rhino’s, giraffes and the birds of the world show.
Didn’t see the lynx which was a shame. Didn’t see a lion only a lioness and some cubs.
1 star lost because the tigers enclosure seemed really small and the tiger looked sad pacing around the enclosure. I also felt sad for the chimpanzee who seemed like it was having fun and was very entertaining but again enclosure felt small. Park could also do with more signage to help navigate the way around as although map on the app is good would still be good to have more signage as the grounds are huge and easy to take a wrong path.
I also went on the steam train which was £5 for adults but I wouldn’t go on it again. Very big ground with loads of viewpoints and lots of walking however lots of places to sit along the way and plenty of small shops providing snacks and some provide food like hotdogs at £8.50 a pop.
I much prefer this zoo to London zoo, I feel like you have better sight of the animals in comparison. One other perk about this zoo is that you can drive around the grounds with an additional fee. There is also free parking with easy access to the zoo.
There is also an app with a live moving map which helps you navigate around the park very good.
We had a wonderful day out with the family. It’s a large venue, so comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Families with young children may find a buggy useful, as there’s plenty of ground to cover. Visitors can bring their own packed lunch or enjoy the selection of cafés and restaurants available throughout the site and near the entrance.
First time visiting, absolutely loved it, an amazing day. The enclosures were lovely and spacious, all areas lovely and clean, staff we spoke to were so helpful. We had afternoon tea at view point, which was lovely and the staff really friendly. The day was just brilliant, would highly recommend a visit.

Otherwise drive the car around and stop and explore where you want.. plenty of parking on the side of the road... please drive safely!!..

Whipsnade Zoo is in a beautiful location of Dunstable Downs, there is a free car park off site and charge for car to enter, blue badges are free, you can drive around the whole park and there is parking spots at each area of the Zoo so you can view the animals at safe distance. It’s a favourite Zoo of mine due to care of the animals and the enclosures are well maintained. If you visit now you may find parts of the Zoo is being improved and some enclosures updated and cleaned, so some of the animals are relocated, the kangaroos are free roaming the zoo and can be approached but best respect nature.
The only part of the experience that requires the most improvement is the toilets most are not regularly cleaned or look clean, the restaurants and food vendors do not offer quality food, the sandwiches were not that appetising and the hotdogs were served in baguette, I didn’t understand the combo nor did my palate. Not that they need a fast food chain there but better menu of food and quality would justify the insane prices like £2 for a bag of crisps.
Overall I still recommend this as a great family day out but bring your own lunches and snacks.

Whipsnade is an awesome zoo but the bus service elevates the experience even further!
Lots of walking and make sure you dress warmly, but if you get tired legs then the bus is perfect. Can't fault it. Such a friendly driver (Gary) and they come round every 20 mins. Thank you so much
This zoo is possibly one of my favorite ones I have been to. The animals have so much space and the possibility to just hide away if that is what they want.
We were there on a cloudy temperate day that made the animals more active so we got to see a lot of them.
We saw the penguin talk and the bird show, both are very much recommended, but especially the bird show was super well done and very enriching.
I have been about 5 times the last ten years and every time has been a great experience.

Loved our visit here. So much history to re discover, everything well displayed, the friendliest of staff and the churchyard visit afterwards to see both German and British soldiers laid to rest at St Andrew's Church was the perfect ending to our visit.
The only negative comment l have, is that I wish they had a better gift shop. I wanted to buy good quality items that were befitting my visit, but sadly apart from mugs and tea shirts and toys for little visitors, l left empty-handed which was a shame.
It's definitely worth a visit though, if you want to see a well looked after and cared for museum with lots of artifacts.

A wonderful little museum, which highlights all the exploits of Tangmere and the surrounding RAF centres which took part during WW2 and a celebration of all the record braking RAF planes back in the day. The real stars of the show are all the volunteer staff that run the place, the enthusiasm they have is quite amazing and make your adventure here a top notch experience
Went here for the first time today, was expecting to just spend an hour or two there but we met a lovely member of staff called Kevin who was super knowledgeable and gave us a very informative afternoon and let us have a go on the simulator.
Had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return with my son.
Cafe served lovely food too.
Highly recommend for anyone with an interest in aviation/war.

Spent a good few hours enjoying the displays and exhibitions at Tangmere. Lots to see and interact with for all ages, I highly recommend a visit.
The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to interact with you and tell stories about their connections to aviation.
Visited the Cockpit cafe as well, it had a fantastic selection of homemade classic British cakes!

Have been to this museum four times in the last sixteen months. Each visit for me just gets better and better, so much information to read about on the wall panels, about the base history, and the RAF, and some of the wonderful heroes that have served. Maybe lot of people don't realise, this museum is home two very important aircraft, a Hawker Hunter and a Gloster Meteor that were air speed record holders in 1953 and 1946 respectively. There are some very knowledgeable and approachable guides to aid your visit, and a wonderful cafe that does a great coffee, and some fantastic snacks/ light meals. Can't recommend this museum highly enough. Will definitely be back for a couple of visits next year. Many thanks Steve
A very nostalgic museum experience, passionately curated. Feeling a little dated now, but that only adds to its charm. Some fascinating stories and artifacts and some amazing aircraft on display. Just be prepared to do a lot of reading! No issue with the facilities/amenities.
I didn't expect the museum to be that good! The vast amount of knowledge from the people that work there. It was also very interactive. I am still amazed by how much I learnt. How much the people there taught me. I love this kinder of thing. Always been fascinated with ww2. But the attention to detail on everything. I want to go again and read everything. I was there 4 hours and feel like I need a few more hours. The simulator was fun. I'm not a bad pilot until it's time to land. So impressed with the staff that work there. Tremendous work they do. Very pleased with this place. So glad I finally ticked it off.

While it’s an overall great experience, just keep an eye on the smallest ones as there are a few dodgy spots that could use extra supervision. Overall, it’s a brilliant venue for a memorable day out!

We had a wonderful time visiting for the Dino week.
There were plenty of activities for the whole family, and our son especially enjoyed the "Time warp challenge" interactive show and the dino disco.
The dinosaurs and cavemen were very entertaining 🤣 Our son would have happily followed them all day if we had let him. Not once did they break character.
The play areas were a massive hit, both the indoor (which has a great selection of slides) and the outdoor.
The cafe was good, a decent price, and had a great selection of cakes (the lemon doughnut was particularly yummy!)
The animals all looked well cared for, and as with most farms, they offered lamb feeding and small animal petting, although we did not do this. There are plenty of handwashing stations if you do feed or touch the animals.
We would definitely return and will look at booking for the Christmas event!
Mead Open Farm has become a family favourite for us! No matter how many times we visit, we always find a new adventure. The hands on fun of petting and feeding the animals is a great. The number of activities is incredible, from the silent disco and racing gokarts to the big inflatable ball that the kids can roll around in water. The new pirate themed splash park is a fantastic and welcome addition! Even the British weather can't spoil the fun, thanks to the massive indoor soft play centre with few nice slides. It's an action packed day out that we highly recommend.

I don’t know wheee to begin. This place is AMAZING!! Finally got to go with the whole family today and there was something for everyone. The kids really enjoyed it. It’s such a unique offering. With both the farm animals which are so well groomed and looked after… to so many posh and adventure options. It’s a full day. It’s great value of money. We were thinking of going to a theme park but with our one year old we felt it would have been too much with all the queues. We are so happy we chose Mead. Was a stress free day. No long queues. Good food. And so much to choose from. The foam party was definitely a hit at the end!!!! Just go!!!!!
Very mixed feelings about the farm.
Comparing to others in Hertfordshire this is quite expensive for what you get.
In terms of animals, if you are after goats and rabbits than that's the place. Other animals you can see - cows in the field, pigs in their little boxes. Soft play area nice. Food average, typical, popcorn chicken and chips from kids menu was ok.
Play area spacious and well maintained.
Will I come back? Not sure.

Had a lovely rhubarb and rosemary scone at the Conservatory Cafe and loved the water gardens. Spent the whole day and still didn’t manage to see everything. The house wasn’t open to the public when we visited as it’s a hotel - would recommend checking National Trust website before visiting if you want to go inside. It’s very hilly climbing back to the house from the riverside but worth it for all the views.

A fantastic day out at Cliveden!
We had a wonderful family day out at National Trust's Cliveden. It was a perfect escape from London. We loved strolling through the grounds, which provided much-needed shade on a hot day. The views were stunning, and the kids were delighted with their ice creams.
A quick tip for visitors: Be sure to look for the insider car park to avoid a long walk to the main house. We also wished we had known about the boat rides in advance, so be sure to check that out if you visit! Highly recommend for a family day trip.
The estate is stunning, we especially appreciated the beautiful, shady walking paths that made our strolls incredibly relaxing. We found a great spot for our packed lunch, which was a nice way to save a bit of money and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The views across the grounds were truly magnificent. The kids absolutely loved their ice creams, and I enjoyed a well-deserved coffee break.
What a wonderful state in England! One of the most beautiful places I've been to of its kind.
It's not far away from London, but it's easily connected to motorways.
During the spring and summer, it is a great park to walk through gardens and forest, so bring your sunblock, hat and comfortable shoes.
I cannot imagine it during the winter but maybe that's also a wonderful experience.
If you can, book your tickets in advance and arrive early in the morning, because it is a popular spot and the park lot is limited.
You can bring your trolleys (if you need). It has many accessible ways. It's dog friendly, but it's your responsibility to keep the place clean.
Bring as well your banquet with food and drinks to picnic, if you cannot, don't worry! You can buy them here.

Well-worth the annual national trust membership price if you are a local resident. Beautiful gardens to explore and spacious picnic areas for small to large groups. There is also a coffee shop near the car park and a bigger cafe/restaurant close to the main house. There’s a good size children’s play area and there are also frequent children oriented events during the year which the our young child loves. Don’t forget to walk down to the river and have a boat trip in the summer months!
Our local National Trust, we love it here! So many different areas to visit, the woodland, the water garden, long garden, the Thames river, the house, the list goes on! Reliable food options and decent parking if you get there earlier on or later in the day... Can get busy busy weekends or school hols.
Without doubt one of the best kept places I’ve visited in England. The area is vast and full of interesting walks, greenery, water garden, fountains, rose garden and lot more to explore. The public facilities are more than adequate and the staff are extremely helpful.
Beautiful estate visited in August. Lots of ground with both a woodland area and the main house. Plenty of space for everyone. Beautiful views from top and activities to do on the river (boating). Lovely for a day out.

Well looked after grounds, well tended gardens and beautifully managed Manor House. The facilities are more than adequate and volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable to explain and answer questions.
However, we found the lights were very dim in most of the rooms downstairs and it was difficult to see or read the information provided in the pamphlets and walls.
No queues, not a lot of people and one of the most comprehensible and easy to navigate National Trust houses in England. Absolutely fascinating to learn more about English history; Disraeli, wartime mapping, and secrecy. Knowledgeable staff who like what they are doing. We visited on a glorious sunny weekday afternoon. A light lunch to start, nothing really special, served quickly and efficiently. The house is very well presented and the gardens are a delight to walk around and sit and admire while reclining in a deck chair.
Lovely building with a fascinating story. Loved all of the information on the production of the maps during WW2, especially interesting that they are still finding out about people who were there during that time.

Amazing House and gardens and with a lot of history, with roots dating back to before the Domesday Book. It became known as the country home of Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria's favorite Prime Minister, who purchased it in 1848. If you're a National Trust member you should definitely visit.

Venue offering pre-booked tours of its brewery and winery, plus ale, wine and liqueur tastings.
I was kindly treated to two nights at Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery for my birthday.
We stayed in the Pool House room, which is right by a pool, hot tub and sauna. These facilities are exclusively for the use of the pool House guests, so you can enjoy some privacy and don't get disturbed by other guests coming and going.
The room is well appointed, with an ensuite bath/shower room, and views directly onto the vineyard catching the morning sun.
Breakfast was included and done very well, with the option of a full English.
The wine tour and tasting lasted about 2 hours, taking you on a tour of the vineyard and winery/brewery facilities, finished off with a tasting of some of their wines, beers and liqueurs. Very enjoyable indeed!
They have a deal with a local pub for dinner, which includes a taxi ride there and back (about a 5-10 minute drive to Hambledon village). The menu was excellent and well worth it.
We both cycle and enjoyed the excellent cycling in spectacular scenery.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the winery and hope to go back at some point. It's a bit more to stay in the Pool House compared with the main house rooms, but worth it if you enjoy the facilities it offers.

We did the tour and tasting followed by an overnight stay. All of the staff we met were lovely. The grounds and buildings were very well kept. Victoria was a great tour/tasting guide and certainly knew her stuff. We sampled various wines, beers and liqueurs, along with some cheese and crackers to cleanse the pallet between tastings. The farmhouse breakfast was great too!
I recently proposed to my girlfriend at this stunning venue, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting or experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, beautifully organized, and completely stress-free.
Don, the venue owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with- professional, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about making special moments unforgettable. The coordination with our photographer and even the tour guide, Steve, was seamless. Everyone worked together behind the scenes to make the moment magical, and they absolutely delivered.
Steve was fantastic, and his knowledge is amazing.
The atmosphere was lovely, the setting was picture-perfect, and the entire team made sure everything went off without a hitch. Highly recommend this venue for any special occasion- it truly exceeded all expectations!

What a beautiful venue and a very informative presentation and tour by your staff. Forgive me but I can't recall the South African guys name but he made it a very memorable visit with his knowledge and anecdotes.
Unfortunately i couldn't fully take part in the tasting session at the end because of having to drive home but plenty of great wines and beers to buy at the end. Happy to support a small but very professional and enterprising business.I would recommend anyone with an interest in wine making and brewing to pay them a visit. A truly memorable visit.

Just spent the afternoon at this venue with a tour being provided by one of the sommeliers. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the estate, the business and wine and beer making. He then led us expertly through a tasting of three wines, three beers and a liqueur. We then sat in the beautiful courtyard and enjoyed a glass of wine. Recommend a trip to this venue.

Nestled in the picturesque Buckinghamshire countryside, the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is a delightful destination for train enthusiasts of all ages. Families can enjoy rides on a miniature railway that winds through wooded areas and even includes a tunnel!
It was Father’s Day when we visited and my husband was in second heaven. He didn’t want to leave. Lots to see in the train museum, book shop and on the platform there was a historic bike display. Good food and a chance to go on a short ride on Thomas the Tank engine. What more could a train enthusiast need?

Visited to see Wightwick Hall running on the Steam weekend. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Lots of engines to see around the site. Visited the museum, lots to see in there. Had a ride on the miniature railway. The cafe was very nice for lunch. Had a very enjoyable day here and well worth the drive from Sussex.
Where do I start,
First of all the day out is worth every penny, the staff and everyone were super friendly.
We enjoyed a Thomas and Friends day here where we got to ride on 2 different steam trains (Thomas and Percy) and enjoy all Thomas activities from dancing shows to craft activities.
The model train rides were also great fun and the kids had a blast.
There is also a very reasonable priced cafe in the main centre with loads of train related toys for the kids to keep them busy.
There even was a steam tractor-trailer ride which the kids loved.
Will definitely be back again in the near future, Thanks Bucks Railway Centre
A fantastic museum, run and looked after by very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and interesting volunteers. The full site is sizeable, with a huge amount of exhibits both inside and outside. For the best experience a visit on one of the steaming days is highly recommended, but the café and shop are open most days and are a delight in themselves.
Fantastic day out, great value for money. Museum opens at 1030 and first train departs at 11am.
Steam train ride lasts around 17minutes but you can do it as many times as you like.
Museum well laid out and informative. Cafe reasonably priced £6 for 2 hot drinks, £5 for two ice creams.
We have been coming to the Railway centre for many years and have watched it get better and better. It is a must for any transport enthusiasts and especially train fans of course. Lots to see and do for all ages. Loads of historic info for adults and older children and plenty to do for little ones as well. Miniature train rides are a great addition. Plenty of food and drink on offer especially on event days.
We came back for Auto Fest which was a classic vehicle event. Loads of interesting cars and vehicles attended and there was Live music and morris dancers.

Waddesdon Manor is a Victorian mansion originally built for Baron de Rothschild and is now under the care of The National Trust. The estate, including its impressive art collections and 165 acres of garden and park, was left to the trust by James de Rothschild in the late 1950s. Today, it is overseen by Baron Jacob Rothschild through a charitable trust.
Fabulous place! I was amazed on the size, architecture and furnishings as well as the collections inside. The surrounding are is also beautiful and it’s gardens were nice too.
It’s easily accessible and also offer bus ride to the house from the car park.
Staff were very friendly and everything was clean and top notch.
I would highly recommend a visit as there’s a lot to see. Might recommend spending a few hours to truly appreciate all of that is to see.

Really enjoyable visit to this stately home although it was built as a museum to house the possessions of the Rothschild family.
Fantastic collection of art works, ceramics, tapestries and furniture and grounds.
Entry needs to be pre-booked via their website there is a long walk 20 to 30 minutes from the car park to the house or you can book a shuttle bus for £2.50 return, free if you’re a blue badge holder.
Easy to find with large ticket office and excellent parking capacity inc disabled with a shuttle bus to the house and stables. Property has an interesting history and easy to walk through the various rooms. Large gardens for outdoor walking. Plenty of food and drink available. House has timed tickets available online or at the ticket office on arrival. Staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
A good wee place to explore and walk (in the garden), learn about history, architecture and art. Perfect for couples and families as they have a nice cafe(outdoor sitting) and wine shop.

We had a great family day out here, the house is beautiful and full of amazing artifacts, and all manner of priceless treasures. I enjoyed the Solomon's temple exhibit, interesting to see how it may have looked in it's original form.
The grounds looked incredible with the autumn colours, and walking around a finding little hidden details was interesting.
The outdoor cafe next to the gift shop had lovely, tasty food and drinks available. The gift shop was very pleasant aswell. Every interaction we had with the people working/volunteering there was very positive. Thankyou for a great time.

I think this was my most enjoyable National Trust visit. One of many Rothschild properties in the area but must be the jewel in the crown. A very good tour round the house King Louis writing desk and so much more it was just amazing. The grounds were also extensive and very beautiful
