The massive walls, and the view from the top truly take you back in time and remind you of the valor of Rani Lakshmi Bai and her army. However, it was disappointing to see government offices built within the fort premises, which takes away from its historic charm. We paid ₹500 for a guide, but it turned out to be a waste — he seemed to be in a hurry and barely explained anything. The experience with the guide was quite poor. That said, **Jhansi Fort** itself is magnificent and holds a special place in India’s history — every corner echoes stories of courage, sacrifice, and pride. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates India’s rich heritage and the spirit of freedom.

Idea of boat ride is excellent but calling it a river cruise was a not a fit with limited sightings of animals 9 to 10 only , poor quality or non cruise boat, no meal or drinks. 3 stars for the River, Idea of commercializations and nice and humble local boatman cum guide. Around 800 rupees person for the boat ride seems too high for the fun. Though I don’t mind contributing towards the upkeep of the place if there is any existing process besides just a ticketing booth to cash the opportunity. Some suggestions 1. Should bring better quality boats. 2. Green boats, either manual or electric as the tourism will grow the diesel and petrol boats will kill the ecosystem around especially the river water. 3. A play place for kids or adults like water slides etc can justify the long drive of hours to just have a simple boat ride. 4. A local cuisine restaurant celebrating the place.

The great fort of Bundi known as Taragarh Fort is lying in a rather dilapated condition today. Approx 1/4th part has been restored and made open to public. The fort walls encircle the entire hill. If restored, it can be a great walk along the high walls of the fort. Ticket price for Indian is 100 INR. There is parking in front of the fort. From the ticket counter and through the main gate, it is a steep wall of 200 meters to the main Hathi Pol gate. As only a limited part of the fort is open, you need to follow a certain route to explore the fort, manned by guards. The view of Bundi town from the fort is beautiful. Badal Mahal is the most beautiful section where you can enjoy the remnants of original Rajputana paintings. Lot of gates installed to ensure no one wanders off in No entry sections. Hope ASI and GoI thinks to restore this fort, symbol of valour of the Hadouti kingdom.

I visited Chittorgarh Fort on Sunday morning by auto rickshaw from the railway station. The auto charged around ₹750 (bargaining ₹600–800) for a round trip, including a full fort tour and drop back to the station. The visit took around 4–5 hours, covering all the major attractions. Morning time was perfect — less crowd, easy entry, and pleasant for exploring, though it got very hot and sunny later in the day. In the afternoon, the entry line becomes quite long, taking 45–60 minutes due to heavy rush, so morning is highly recommended. Places Visited: Rana Kumbha Palace – very old and partly damaged, gives a glimpse of ancient Rajput glory. Fateh Prakash Palace (Museum) – royal architecture and historic collections. Meera Temple & Kumbha Shyam Temple – peaceful places linked to Meera Bai’s devotion to Lord Krishna. Vijay Stambha – grand victory tower, inside entry closed but magnificent from outside. Gaumukh Mahadev Kund – serene sacred pond with natural water flow. Padmini (Padmavati) Palace – beautiful palace surrounded by a lotus pond, linked to Rani Padmini’s Johar story. Mahakali Temple – peaceful, spiritual spot for devotees. Jain Kirti Stambha (Jain Trith Stambha) – artistically carved ancient tower dedicated to Lord Adinath. Overall Experience: A wonderful historical trip filled with courage, devotion, and Rajput pride. The fort is vast but well-connected by auto. Best to visit early morning with water and cap, as it gets hot by noon. A must-visit place to truly feel the heritage and bravery of Mewar.

A historical monument with rich heritage. It's importance can be judged by its entry in UNESCO world heritage list. Many temples, historical structures, hills, pagdandi etc are strange and observatory.. A large crowd visits the site daily.. entry ticket is nominal. Day by day in absence of proper look after the structure is diminishing.. fading can be seen everywhere. No security arrangements and guards are few , unable to provide safety to much enlarged area. A great historical architecture monument deserve special attention from both center and state government.

Visiting Chittorgarh Fort was an unforgettable experience. The fort is huge, with incredible history that takes you back in time. Walking through its gates, you feel like you're stepping into a different era. The views from the fort are stunning, especially from the towers and the ramparts, where you can see miles of green hills and the town below. The most memorable part was learning about the brave history of the Rajput kings and queens. The ruins, temples, and step-wells add to the charm. Overall, it’s a place full of history, beauty, and a sense of pride.

Overall a nice place to visit and to know our history. Multiple places to visit like the old temple, vijay stambh, and the museum. The fort washroom was a bit dirty,at least the museum washroom was good. Traffic was a bit High due to the small corridor.

One of the biggest live forts in Asia. Still so many homes and shops are visible inside the fort. It takes around 02 to 03 hours to have a complete round of the fort. Old buildings, big cannons and temples will attract your attention. Very few restaurants are available inside the fort, so go there with all your preparations, however you get small stalls for some snacks and drinks.

Absolutely loved the peaceful vibe here. The detailed marble architecture is incredible, and walking the steps by the water feels like stepping back into old royal history. A must-see.

Suitable places for photography Kankroli (Rajnagar) town situated on the Udaipur-Bhilwara highway, located near this huge lake, is actually the district headquarters. Despite it seeming like a small city to me, when I saw the good traffic system, I exclaimed that such a system was not seen even in Udaipur. (What to say about Bhilwara!) Kankroli is the district headquarters of Rajsamand district. Rajasthan: Would it be possible that Rajsamand would be the only district in India in which a place with the name of the district does not exist? After traversing long and narrow streets and asking passers-by, we reached #RajSamudra/#RajSamandJheel. 9 Ghevar Devi, who filled the foundation of this dam near Chowki Pal #Ghevarmata temple is built on the other side, and #Ambamata temple is built on the other side. One can see a glimpse of the great personality of Maharana Raj Singh in this huge lake built at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore in 1676, exactly 100 years after the famous Battle of Haldighati in 1576. It is 2.82 kilometers (1.75 mi) wide, 6.4 kilometers (4.0 mi) long and 18 meters (59 ft) deep. It was built on the Gomti River, Kelva River and Tali River. It was built by Maharana Raj Singh as an atonement for the human killings he had committed during his life. The name of Maharana Raj Singh is immortal among the great heroes of Mewar, about whom we will know better in the upcoming posts. Coming here you feel like the sea. It was raining yesterday...everything was drenched...the clouds and the sea meeting exactly...we too are drenched...from outside...from within...it will definitely come from the heart...

This patch of the land is said to be the site of the one of the most famous battles in Indian history,Battle of Haldi ghati .Not so much to view here but if you happen to around here you can visit this site .There are two small memorials built in the memory of two royals who died in this battle.There is also small pond here.This place is not ticketed.This place is located in khamanore village near Haldi Ghati.

The battle of Haldighati was fought here and from the narrow mountain pass to the river Banas in the plains of Khamnor. Today, only a little of it has been preserved. The battlefield spread over six kilometers from Khamnor to Balicha village is known as Haldighati. The museum to be built here at the government level could not be built till date due to corruption. The weapons related to Maharana Pratap and Chetak are safe in the Udaipur City Palace Museum. In Haldighati, private shopkeeping has been promoted in the name of museum. Tourists are deprived of seeing the original sites which are completely free.

This is a historic site which got renovated in 2023 but is not maintained properly. If it is maintained then it can be a good place to visit.

This is the last spot where the second half of the battle of Haldighati was fought between Maharana Pratap and the Mughals. As a result, thousands of soldiers o on both sides were died and their blood flowed to such an extent that it formed a pool. At present it just a park. ASI should focus on this to build more interesting. Also it's not maintained well.

In this ground, hundreds of warriors of both the armies received Veergati and the blood flowing from their wounds took the form of a pond. Was taken, on the basis of which this place is called blood fried. It is very famous place in khamnore near Haldighati. It is very beautiful place.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is most famous for its 36-kilometer-long defensive wall, often called the "Great Wall of India," which is the second longest in the world. Perched 1,100 meters above sea level, its strategic location and rugged topography made it virtually impregnable, serving as a vital refuge for the Mewar rulers in times of war. Inside its walls, the fort complex includes over 360 ancient temples and the stunning Badal Mahal, or "Palace of Clouds," which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It also holds deep sentimental value as the birthplace of the legendary warrior king, Maharana Pratap. As a fort it is mysterious, this fort cannot seen from ground, when you cross Halla Pol after few meters from there the fort is visible. Except Great Wall and Mahara Pratap birthplace, there is nothing. Museum is closed. Don't take guide, they will charge you 750 for 4 person and also provide some misinformation about museum. Entrance fee is 40 rupees for Indian and 600 for foreigners. Parking is infront of Hanuman Pol. All Historical Artifacts are kept in City Palace Udaipur. So, little bit disappointed.

It was fabulous. The fort is preserved really well. It makes you travel back in history as all the fort is still present except some part of it. The fort is very colorful and it has a very good vibe to it. I will recommend people to visit it in winters and the weather when fog is there cause it will just enhance the beauty of that place. It is a must visit place for tourists.

Built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of Rajasthan’s most magnificent and well-preserved hill forts. It’s surrounded by an incredible 35 km long wall, often called the Great Wall of India — the second longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China, and still remarkably intact. The fort’s design is ingenious — it’s visible only from around 200 meters away, blending perfectly into the surrounding Aravalli hills. The first gate is Halla Pol, and about half a kilometer ahead is Hanuman Pol, marked by an idol of Lord Hanuman. The fort first becomes visible halfway between these two gates. After entering Hanuman Pol, you’ll see the ticket window ahead — entry is ₹40 for Indian adults. From there, you proceed through the main gate, Ram Pol, which leads into the main complex. Inside Ram Pol, two paths diverge — the left path takes you uphill towards Badal Mahal, while the right path leads to the temples within the complex. It’s best to climb the fort first while you have energy and enthusiasm, and visit the temples on your way down. On the way up, you’ll pass through Bhairon Pol, Nimboo Pol, Chaugan Pol, Pagda Pol, and Ganesh Pol, before reaching Badal Mahal, which offers breathtaking panoramic views. It takes about 3 hours to comfortably explore the fort, enjoy the views, and take pictures. Spare some extra time if you wish to explore the surrounding temples, as they’re spread across the lower areas. Notable temples include Neelkanth Mahadev, Vedi Temple, Parshvanath Jain, and Ganesh Temple. I also went up to Bawan Devri, a very ancient Jain temple located a bit farther inside — totally worth it. From there, I climbed onto the fort wall and walked along it, which was an amazing and memorable experience. Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great Rajput warrior. With its massive walls, scenic views, and historic charm, it’s truly a must-visit fort in Rajasthan.

This beautiful man made lake is the 2nd largest in Asia. Which provides drinking water to Udaipur though being about 50 kms from the city . Has been built between 1711-1730 by the ruler of the famous Mewar royal family, roughly 387 years ago. Also, I took this shot from a place which is popular by the name Roothi Rani ka Mahal initially know as “Hawa Mahal”.

We visited Ranakpur Jain Temple recently, and it’s a stunning place! The intricate marble carvings and grand architecture are breathtaking, with every pillar telling a story. The peaceful vibe inside is perfect for reflection, and the surrounding greenery adds to the serene atmosphere. The priests were kind and shared fascinating details about the temple’s history, making the visit special. There’s a small canteen nearby with tasty, simple snacks we enjoyed. However, we faced an issue when a security lady denied us entry, assuming we were non-Indian just because we weren’t fluent in Hindi. It was frustrating but resolved after explaining. Despite this, Ranakpur’s beauty and spirituality are worth visiting.

Built in the 15th century under the patronage of Dharna Shah, the temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath and stands as one of the finest examples of Jain architecture. The nearest railway station is Falna, about an hour’s drive away, making it quite accessible. The temple is famous for its 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each one unique — no two are the same. Photography inside the temple is allowed with a ₹100 ticket, and if you prefer not to carry your phone, there’s a locker facility for ₹10. However, I highly recommend carrying at least one phone or camera — the carvings and architecture are absolutely worth capturing. Women are required to cover their heads with a dupatta before entering; if you forget to bring one, the temple provides it, which is a thoughtful gesture. Most visitors only explore the main derasar, but make sure to wander around the entire complex — that’s where the true charm lies. There are also a few smaller derasars within the premises, and right outside, you’ll find the beautiful Sun Temple, which is worth a quick visit. The Bhojanshala serves simple yet delicious satvik food for around ₹100 per person, and it’s one of the best meals you’ll find. For those planning to stay overnight, the Dharamshala offers neat and clean rooms at about ₹500 per night, making it a great budget-friendly option. This temple is really the highlight of the region. It’s a true hidden gem that photos cannot capture—the beauty and magnificence of the place go far beyond images. The energy is very intense; it took us a while to settle in and vibrate in its frequency. Please try to spend a long time here, at least a few hours—our visit was very short, and we somehow actually regret staying so little. This place is a buffer zone between the physical and the spectral realms, a true masterpiece and a sacred place in every sense.

It features lush, green lawns and a central lotus pool. The most distinctive elements are the white marble pavilions, or chhatris, which stand elegantly against the backdrop of the white walls. Water is the soul of this space. The garden is famed for its numerous fountains, which are supplied from the nearby Fateh Sagar Lake (and later merged into the Bari by Maharana Fateh Singh). These fountains operate without pumps, using a complex hydrostatic pressure system, a testament to 18th century's engineering. ​Ornamental details are delicate and abundant. Stone carved chhatris feature beautiful floral motifs and repetitive arches, as seen in the dark, richly sculpted archways and canopies. A whimsical fountain, adorned with carved mermaid like figures, stands as a charming focal point in the paved courtyard. Ultimately, Saheliyon ki Bari is a tranquil oasis. Saheliyon ki bari - A huge and majestic garden located near the banks of Fateh sagar lake, was built by Maharana Sangram Sinh for the royal ladies. He presented this garden to his queen. The queen was accompanied by 48 maids in her wedding. To offer all of them pleasurable moments away from the political environment, this garden was made. This patterned garden used to be the popular relaxing spot of the royal ladies. It has many sections, fountains, lotus pool and marble elephants. Currently, the fountains are managey electronically. But in the old times, this was managed by the vacuum. The garden is very well maintained and full of greenery. There is a nominal entry fees. Must recommend everyone to visit.

Amazing Gardens and fountains built over 200 years ago. Some of the fountains and sprinklers are in wrought iron and imported from Liverpool back then. Some marble fountains are actually marvel fountains with water moving through hollow legs or elephants and out their trunks or through hollow pillars and out the pergola. All of this is using gravity and there are no pumps to keep the water the moving - the water comes from the Fatehsagar lake which is 80 - 90 mts higher than the gardens and the height of the fountain therefore depends on the level of water in the lake. Amazing engineering.......

Visited this garden in Udaipur, entry ticket is ₹30 per person. It’s nicely maintained with clean toilets and even fresh drinking water available at the entry, which is great. The garden itself is good, but since I went during the daytime, the harsh sun made it difficult to enjoy fully. They definitely need more big trees for shade to make the experience more comfortable. The only parts I truly loved were the Savan Bhado and Bin Badal Barsat spots inside the garden - those were beautiful!

An inscription placed therein gives detailed information about Guhil rulers and the temple. It is nice historical temple of lord Vishnu in udaipur. Temple is situated in old city. You can reach this temple easily by bike, Taxi or car. I visited at around 9:00 in morning, so crowd is less. But with time crowd getting more and more. Whenever you visit udaipur, I suggest start you journey from here by taking blessings of Bhagwan Vishnu.

Very long queue both for tickets and entry. Online option is not easily found on the web. Some of the performances were good but some very average, specially the duet snake dance performers, they were both doing their own thing ,no co-ordination and appeared to be very casual. The group dances were good. Overall seemed a little like a tourist trap

Bagore ki haveli offers you 2 kinds of experiences, one is the rich history through its museum and the beautiful view and sunset that you can catch from it's jharokhaas and windows. And the other one is ofcourse the dharohar dance show that you cannot miss at any cost. Book the tickets beforehand and buy another ticket for your camera as it's worth it. I went there thrice, and each time it had something new to offer.

Bagore Ki Haveli is a beautifully maintained heritage haveli located near Gangaur Ghat on Lake Pichola. The entry ticket is ₹60, which makes it a very budget-friendly attraction. You can explore the entire haveli in about 30–45 minutes. Inside, you’ll see old Rajasthani rooms, colorful glasswork, jharokhas, traditional costumes, utensils, masks, turbans, and artwork, which show how people lived in the old Mewar period. It’s also a great place for photography, with beautiful courtyards and mirror work. If you want to watch the traditional folk dance and puppet show, there is a separate ticket for the Dharohar Cultural Show held in the evening. The folk dance, music, and puppet performance offer a wonderful glimpse into Rajasthan’s cultural traditions. Bagore Ki Haveli was built in the 18th century by Amar Chand Badwa, the prime minister of Mewar. Later, it was used by members of the royal family, including Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore. The haveli has more than 100 rooms, courtyards, and beautifully carved balconies. After years of neglect, it was restored by the West Zone Cultural Centre, which turned it into a museum showcasing Mewar’s heritage. A nice, peaceful heritage spot with affordable entry, perfect for a short visit. Great for learning about old Rajasthani culture and also for enjoying the evening folk dance show.

I visited Bagore ki Haveli museum yesterday and it was brilliant. Previously a guest house and a government office, this is now converted into a cultural center and museum. Entry to the venue is ticketed and foreigner tickets cost INR150 and can be bought at the gates.

One of the most beautiful palace I have ever visited. It's very magnificent and well maintained. The museum has lot of information. The weapons used during those days, the paintings, dress and culture all are very well preserved. It's a must visit place. There are authorised guides at the entrance please hire one for 500 to get the detailed information about the palace. Do not exit from the exit gate which you will need to pay 50 more and have to take a boat ride which is way expensive instead exit from the entry gate where there are lot of shopping options. There are is also authentic Rajasthani Thali available inside the palace which is good and reasonable.

Lake pichola is a historius lake in udaipur near city palace. Lake pichola is one of the best place to visit at every time. The view from the lake totally beautiful and green. You can also see the rounded view of lake. The boating in the lake is beautiful and peache of mind. It's best for photography. The night view is totally best. Boat riding at night is good and memorable.

So I visited the Monsoon Palace recently, and honestly, it’s one of those places that’s more about the view than the palace itself. It’s located on a high hill a bit outside the main city, and once you reach the top, you can literally see all of Udaipur — the lakes, City Palace, and everything else. The view is amazing, especially around sunset or during monsoon when it’s cloudy. Getting there is a bit of a ride though. The road is quite steep and curvy, and it takes around 15–25 minutes to reach the top if you’re going by car or scooty. The entry fee is ₹170 per person, and they also charge ₹300 for cars and ₹70 for two-wheelers. There’s a cab service from the base too, around ₹120 per person if you don’t want to drive up yourself. Once you’re at the top, there’s a small parking area, and you have to walk for about 5 minutes to reach the palace. There’s a small café near the palace that sells basic snacks like samosas, puffs, tea, and cold drinks — nothing fancy but it’s good enough if you just want a quick bite or some water. The palace itself is okay-ish, not very grand or well-maintained, but that’s not really the main attraction. The views from up there totally steal the show. You can see the whole city spread out below — it’s especially beautiful during sunset. Overall, I’d say it’s worth going once, mainly for the views and the drive. Don’t expect a super fancy palace, but if you enjoy scenic spots, it’s a nice little trip.

Gabbar Mountain is a small hillock situated near Ambaji, Gujarat, India. This famous pilgrimage is situated on the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan at a distance of just 5 km from Ambaji. From here, one can see the Arasur mountain. It is considered one of the 51 ancient mythological Shakti Peethas. According to the Puranas, "the Heart" portion of Sati's corpse had fallen here. Its reference is also found in Tantra Chudamani.

I recently visited Bliss Water Park in Mehsana, and it was a day filled with both excitement and disappointment. The park itself is well-maintained and offers a good variety of rides. The wave pool is one of the major highlights — it’s clean, spacious, and gives you the real thrill of ocean waves. Another attraction that stood out was the Crazy River ride, which was total fun and perfect for families and friends looking for an exciting splash. However, my experience was ruined by the food. I had a meal from one of their food stalls, and it was a big letdown. The quality and hygiene seemed questionable. Unfortunately, just a few hours after eating, I started feeling uneasy and later suffered from food poisoning, which spoiled the rest of my trip and the following day as well. While the rides and water attractions are top-notch and worth the visit, the management seriously needs to improve the food quality and hygiene standards. I would recommend bringing your own food if possible or eating outside the park. Overall, Bliss Water Park is great for fun and adventure but fails when it comes to food safety.

The park can easily house 2500 to 3000 people. We went there on a day which was a public holiday, but since there was long weekend, the number of people rhat arrived was less. It is a good water park with around 9-10 rides. Crazy river was one of the best rides. They have a separate children's area. Parking is free. We went there when there was an offer and got food inclusive at 900/-. 200/- was locker charge. 30/- was the charge of 1 photo(soft copy). It has around 9 to 10 big rides. You can easily do all of them without the express ticket. They allow it regular people and one express person. 8:1 ratio. So no real use of express ticket. Also in express ticket only a few Tower rides and crazy river is covered. Children will love the experience.

Had a fantastic time at the water park! The ticket price was totally worth it, especially with lunch included — the food was delicious, fresh, and way better than expected. What truly impressed me was their focus on safety and comfort. The security guards were actively monitoring the gents-only area, ensuring that families could enjoy the pool without any discomfort. There was a well-managed separation between the family zone and the gents’ section, all within the same pool, which made it comfortable and enjoyable for everyone. Nice water activities but there are no lift to climb the high towers that makes you tired soon. Overall great water park in terms of safety, security and enjoyment. Too much rush on weekends so it’s better if u can visit on weekdays. Including food is also of good quality and great taste. We were unable to do all the rides due to rush and towers without lift to climb and timings of river is also very tough to catch, so if you wish to go through the river you need to plan accordingly and wait for some time.

Better experience than other waterpark, specially food is too good and free cool drinking water arrangements everywhere in water park. Best place to get best experience for rides and swimming. Credit goes to good management. Everything is best, one business idea is there of photography in wave pool. Few photographer take photos in camera and ask to take photos from studio which charged INR 30 per photos and it's mandatory to take all photos which is drawback with loosing one star, there should be option to choose photos from taken photos and pay for only choosen photos, everything else is best. 👌🏻

Bliss Aqua Waterpark is a great stop if you're heading towards Ahmedabad from Jodhpur it’s located around 10 km before Mehsana city, right off the highway. Just note that it’s on the opposite side, so you’ll need to take a U-turn about 200 meters ahead. The park has free parking, but the parking area is a bit far (around 200 meters from the entrance), so it’s better to drop your family at the gate first and then park the car. Entry opens at 10 AM. Tickets are available right at the main gate ₹899 for adults and ₹600 for kids below 4 feet. The best part? All tickets include coupons for a free unlimited lunch buffet. The food was decent we had puri, chana masala, rice, dal, and aamras. Just a heads-up, the dal is quite sweet (classic Gujarat style), but everything was fresh and filling. Now coming to the main attraction the rides. There are tons of options for both kids and adults. Many of the adult slides are designed for 2 people, a few for 3–4 people, and some are for solo riders. I’d definitely recommend visiting in a group of at least 2 to make the most of the multi-person slides. The slides are thrilling and on par with what you'd expect in big parks like Imagica. The wave pool is also quite good and adds to the fun.

I visited the Amul Chocolate and Sweet House during my trip to Amul Foodland. I tried their samosa and also treated myself to some Amul ice cream. As always, Amul means excellent quality—no complaints at all. Both items were tasty, and I truly enjoyed the experience!

A very fine example of craftsmanship in stone and the art of building Step wells. Structure is well preserved and offers a glimpse of architectural mastery of the age. It is a five storied structure with intricate carvings adoring the walls and ceilings. At the ground level structure is protected by a thick boundary wall and there are steps in multiple directions to get into the well.

The Adalaj Stepwell (Rudabai Stepwell) is a magnificent five-story architectural marvel built in 1499, which holds the poignant history of Queen Rudabai who ensured its completion after her husband's death before tragically ending her own life. The well's intricate carvings, including detailed ornamentation and mythological scenes across its galleries, showcase exquisite craftsmanship and create a truly atmospheric subterranean space. Nestled on the banks of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad (with a wide access now created from the Sabarmati Riverfront project), the Sabarmati Ashram stands as a pillar of India’s freedom movement and the personal abode of Mahatma Gandhi from 1917 to 1930. Founded by Gandhi, the ashram served not only as his residence but as the nerve-centre of the Non-Violent Civil Disobedience Campaigns, including the 1930 Salt March. The simple, humble buildings and open spaces reflect Gandhi’s ideals of truth, simplicity, self-reliance and community life. A standout architectural element of the ashram is its museum complex – the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya – designed by legendary architect Charles Correa and completed in 1963. Correa imbued the museum with a vernacular modernism: modular 6 m × 6 m units arranged around courtyards and water-bodies, brick piers, stone floors, tiled roofs and wooden louvre screens all deliberate to reflect ‘swadeshi’ materials and climatic responsiveness. The museum architecture draws inspiration from the layout of village houses in Gujarat’s Banni region and is designed for incremental growth, symbolic of a ‘living institution’. In recent years, the ashram has entered a major new phase: the central and Gujarat governments have rolled out a masterplan for a ₹1,200 crore redevelopment project that will expand the ashram precinct from the current 5 acres to around 55 acres, encompassing 36 existing buildings for conservation, restoration or redevelopment. The plan includes new visitor-orientated amenities such as an orientation centre, interactive workshops on charkha spinning, handmade paper, cotton weaving, a library and archives, and multilingual interpretive exhibits. Together, the ashram’s historic legacy, Correa’s architecture and the sweeping redevelopment project combine to make Sabarmati Ashram not just a preserved heritage site but an evolving memorial that aims to communicate Gandhi’s values to future generations in a holistic, immersive way.

This is my second visit after fifteen years. During my first visit I spent about three hours at the place going through each and every display. On the River front things were not so well organised. Now the place looks aged and lacks maintenance. The river front is now totally revamped and looks very inviting. Construction work for the new museum has started and may be, after couple of years it will again be a place to visit.

Absolutely loved it. The lake is very beautiful and amazing. It has few entry points but not all of them have parking option available. There are so many activities to do in the lake. Lots of food options. Lots of amazing activities. The train is very amazing, it gives you a one round about tour of a lake. In addition with that, it has flower garden, fishes to see and joy to experience.

An excellent place to visit. Lot of activities are available here around the lake. Lake is beautified nicely. Minimum two days are required to explore and enjoy this place. Recommend to visit once.

This is a very good place. The people come there to eat. The scenery there is very nice. I like it there a lot. There is a ride here. I also play with the children. There is an old tarin here. I sit in it and go around the whole Kakaria. This is a good one.

I went to Sabarmati Riverfront early in the morning during my exam days, and it turned out to be a very relaxing experience. The place is calm, the sound of the river waves is very soothing, and the cool morning breeze makes it even better. Ahmedabad can be quite hot, so visiting this place in the morning felt really peaceful. There’s a metro station around 2 km away, so it’s also easy to reach. The main riverfront area is open 24/7, but if you want to visit the Atal Bridge or garden area, they open after 9 AM. There are trees all around, and you can even find bicycles nearby to ride, though they are a bit costly. Still, it’s a good experience, especially for visitors from outside the city. Overall, a great spot for a quiet walk or just to sit and relax in the fresh air.

The riverfront is very beautiful and it is very peaceful during non-peak hours. I visited during early morning hours and I saw people cycling and jogging on the promenade. The river was very calm and greenery was lush. The infrastructure developed by the government there is very well maintained. The walking space is huge and very picturesque. The long riverfront offers ample space to exercise, cycle, run and walk. The place is also clean and not littered by plastic. I also saw a river cleaning boat gathering trash that was thrown in river during early hours.

Every year Kite festival is organized at this place during 14-January week. It's runs for 4 days approximately. During day there are people from different countries participating their kite flying skill. During evening there is cultural programs. Parking is not available at this event place. Laden is 2-3km far near the flower park. Is wish a visit. There's food court, wash rooms and drinking water facility.

The place is very beautiful with a proper cleanliness maintained throughout. Here their was few public entertainment thing here like the bicycle ride and other things. The river is also very neat and clean. The police persons also take rounds continuously through the river front for security. 0

An amazing monument built before 1000 years is a must visit place for everyone. This temple is a perfect example of extreme engineering and technology before 1k years. The entire campus kept neat and clean. The whole structure was built on sand stones and is located right on the tropic of cancer. Do understand the history of this temple with the help of registerd guide which was available there and will charge 500 Rs per group which is quite reasonable. Overall a must must visit place for every Indian.

My recent visit to the Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat was nothing short of mesmerizing — a journey through time and artistry. Dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, this 11th-century masterpiece was built by King Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty and stands as a testament to India’s architectural brilliance. As I walked through the temple complex, the symmetry of the grand Surya Kund (stepwell), the intricate carvings on every pillar and wall, and the play of sunlight illuminating the sanctum left me in awe. The temple, aligned perfectly so that the first rays of the sun touch the idol of Surya during equinoxes, reflects the advanced astronomical understanding of that era. Even without the deity now, the spiritual energy of the place is palpable. Surrounded by serene landscapes and the gentle hum of history, Modhera Sun Temple is not just a monument — it’s a poetic fusion of science, devotion, and stone craftsmanship that every traveller should experience. Unfortunately, I could not wait for the late evening light-and-sound show as there was just too much time to wait, too much crowd and too much distance to cover back to Ahmedabad. Also, the weather was super hot! But the show, shot by a tourist is available on YouTube. It is one of the best shows at heritage sites. So, if you plan to visit Modhera, it will be beneficial to visit it around 5 pm giving you enough time to see the temple till the 7pm show. The Sarkari Archaeological Museum here is super sad though!

Slightly remote place, on the way to bhavnagar from ahmedabad. There is less public transportation means. Very nice place to feel the ancient history, no entry fees for visiting the site. Lothal museum is under construction about 5 km from the site.

The Harappa civilization site at Lothal is a very beautiful place. It exudes a sense of peace, and the cool breeze makes you wonder why the people of Lothal chose to live here—perhaps it was because of this serene environment and pleasant climate. Although the structures are very old, their condition is gradually deteriorating because visitors enter the ruins, causing damage. In its current open state, it seems like the Archaeological Survey of India is not actively preserving it. The cemetery appears almost lost, with no accessible path to reach it. Overall, the site is very enriching for history enthusiasts, while others may see it as just a casual visit. However, you can truly appreciate that the people of that era had knowledge of science and mathematics. The government should take action to protect and preserve this heritage site.

Visiting lothal on weekends specially on early morning drives is recommended. I have visited yhe site at post monsoon so the dockyard is full of water giving real vibe. The location shows there is a museum is permenent closed. If you have prior knowledge of this site then this visit could be the most interesting. Otherwise you real roam around and exit.

Best time to visit this place is during winters. You will be able to sit and experience the thousands of years of history here. A must visit for history enthusiast. Currently the archeological musuem is under construction. There is no information when it will open again, therefore you won't be able see the artifacts that have been found here. But the site is open and you can definitely visit it.
