We loved our overnight visit - we loved being part of harnessing the dogs, getting to know them as individuals and of course riding the sleigh. What fun! Thank you to our hosts and especially Lorraine (our sleigh and huskey guide) who shared her passion for the huskies and sploilt us with a delicious meal by the fire in a traditional Sami Hut. It was a most delightful and memorable experience.

Great place for a superb view. The dinners were excellent, prepared with love by the French couple running the complex. The cabin hut we stayed is very small for two persons and no running water there. Toilet outside and shower in main building. More like staying on a campsite than being in a lodge. We came for bird watching. Main business is husky sledge riding.

What an awesome experience right next to the Russian border. Our husky adventure was a highlight of our Norway trip. The accommodation is very good as is the food. The King Crab soup was hearty and warming. The conditions were perfect for the Lights but unfortunately the were a no show. Night time temperatures were a chilly -25 to -30*C overnight. If you go in winter the snow makes it look just amazing.

If you love tundra, husky dogs, woods, river and the special feeling of being close to Russia, this is the place for you. And the guides there are also doing a good Job. Taking a trip with the husky through Finnmark wildernes should be on everyones bucket list. Love the place.

Fantastically organized. There are many packages available. We chose the "one night stay over" package which includes: transfer to and from Kirkenes, over 2 hours of dogsledding, a small lunch, a nice dinner, overnight stay in the guesthouse and a nice breakfast. The transfer to BIRK itself was already interesting all along the border with Russia. BIRK is located in a national park some 50 km South of Kirkenes, more or less in the middle of nowhere. Once arrived you receive instructions on how to use the sleds and then it is "into the countryside". A guide leads the way and the dogs are very, very eager to follow. Good fun. The meals and accommodation are very comfortable. We were driven back to Kirkenes in a snow storm which added to the experience.

We had a wonderful stay in Birk! The cabin was really comfortable and the staff extremely friendly! The dogs are the cutest! Totally recommend it to couples and group activities! :)

Wonderful experience out in the cold and beautiful landscapes with the huskies who were super excited to run at all times. The guide is friendly, experience and takes great care of the dogs. Be prepared to go on a wild and exciting ride!

This is a can’t miss experience! Exhilarating especially when you’re in the snow covered outdoors! Dag, the owner, clearly loves his husky dogs and also competes as a musher annually. We were given 2 hours to explore a pretty vast part of his land going past small roads, reindeer crossings and even an ongoing international sledding race! Dag and his two crew were all very friendly and gave us a great tutorial at the start, it was pretty easy to learn and the dogs are all well-trained and very smart so they hardly needed assistance from us humans to get around. We got to sit around afterwards in front of a fire and drink hot berry juice and coffee and learn more about how the dogs are taken care of throughout the year. We have read that a lot of the husky sledding activities tend to be shorter but this one was a really nice long trip and very exciting and fun. It’s worth the drive over from Finland (and hours drive from Utjokski).

A great place for a Husky sleigh ride experience. Run by a passionate owner with lovely family and many barking and howling Husky's. We had a wonderful time.

The experience was awesome. The landscape are stunning, the crew is super nice. It's awesome because you can switch rider whenever you want which allows to rest a bit. We really loved riding with Tana Husky. Go there and you won't regret it.
Clément P — Google review
Amazing dogs and guides. Definitely worth visiting for the experience. Totally unlike the usual touristy kind of husky sledding. This the real deal folks, come with a strong heart and leave stronger.

Great experience!! I spent one of the most beautiful days in my life with Tana Husky. Every person and every dog were so friendly and I felt extremly comfortable even if I'm in general a little bit afraid of unfamiliar dogs because I was bitten by a "nice dog that can be touched" as I was a child. Tana Husky team, thank you very much for creating such an amazing day for us! We are going to meet again, see you :-)
M&M — Google review
Such a great experience! You could tell how happy the dogs were to pull us. Every time we stopped, they were jumping and still trying to go! Of course, my favorite part was at the end when I got to pet the dogs! They were so sweet! 💕 also, I was there at the end of December, so there was no sun to begin with, but there was a little bit of light we had left pretty quickly. This is definitely a must-do activity if you’re anywhere close!
Rachel — Google review
It was the first time we have tried to do a husky tour and it is the best place to do it! The owner is very friendly and creates an unforgettable atmosphere for you to enjoy the trip. The trip way was not boring, you will even pass through the roads where husky racing tournaments are taking place. The nature around is unforgettable together with the sunset. Duration of our tour was approximately 2 hours with photoshooting stop. You need to wear a very warm clothing because of cold weather here, especially warm shoes and gloves. After the trip we got a warm drink near the fire and heard some warm stories about tournaments the owner has taken part in.

We booked 3-hours snowmobile ride. It was excellent, we were driving on frozen river, lake and through the forest. It was just us and the guide, during the ride we had small breaks, also for a tee. You can also get a warm clothing and boots if you need and there is a parking place, so you can come with your own car. I would recommend this activity.

Unreliable and irresponsible shop! Cancelled our booking by email 19 hours before it without any reason. When we asked why, they answered “we just have to cancel”. We were unable to book another experience with another shop as most of them need to be booked 24 hours before it. Our whole day was wasted because of them.

Highly recommended. We tried the couple safary by snowmobile and it was an amazing experience. It felt as a private safary as it was only the guide, my boyfriend and I. We chose them as they advertise small group safari.

(Translated by Google) Booked Aurora Hunting Tour and everything went great. We were driving on a frozen lake and the sky was clear. Aurora on the return journey could be captured very well. Was worth it!

Great Aurora Hunting! Tourists traps are just behind the corner, avoid them by choosing Jouni from Ivalo Trek.

(Translated by Google) 2018 - We hired to hunt the northern lights with Joumi and we loved it. This year my family is going and I have passed on the contact to them. 2023 - I had to change the rating of the review. My mother just returned from the trip and after booking months in advance, the aurora hunting excursion was canceled a few hours before it was scheduled to take place. They tell her that the sky is going to be cloudy and it was a lie! That night the sky cleared and the northern lights could be seen. Very disappointed with Ivalo trek. Joumi, who was the true artist, no longer wears it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CONTRACTING WITH THIS COMPANY, they leave you stranded the same day and telling lies. It's a shame that they play with the dreams of people who go there excited to see the northern lights. If you don't want to be abandoned and not see the auroras. Better to look for a serious company. Decepcionante

(Translated by Google) To flee. Dishonest agency. While the description of the activity indicates that it is a hunt for the Northern Lights "by car", and therefore in the warmth towards a multitude of points of interest, in reality it is only about you drive to a single freezing field 15 minutes drive from your hotel and spend the next 4 hours there in the polar night (8 p.m. to midnight), all in -20°C. For the modest sum of 125 euros per person. In addition to being very cold, we saw nothing and found the time long, to the point of considering calling a taxi to return to our hotel. We spoke to the "guide" about it and explained to him that the content of the activity was not in line with its description. He then offered to take us back to our hotel, before changing his mind. We had informed him of my pregnancy, but that didn't change anything. We were forced to be patient. We were all the more disgusted by this deplorable behavior as the sky was cloudy and the KP index was less than 1, which made the arrival of an angel more likely and the occurrence of an aurora borealis. . We had discussed this initiative with the guide even before showing in his van in order to re-evaluate the opportunity to maintain the activity. In fact, the description clearly stated that the activity had to be canceled in the event of cloudy skies. The “guide” then told us that we were going to see some and that the scientific data was not reliable. It is therefore clear that professionalism and honesty should have led to the cancellation of the activity, without a shadow of a doubt. The deliberate dishonesty characteristic of any good crook is therefore established here. Back at our hotels, the other participants refuse to pay and the guide is aggressive towards them. For our part we understand that a price (at least symbolic) is due for the activity but having not hidden our dissatisfaction, our discomfort and our disappointment during the activity, we nevertheless ask for a commercial gesture, which is obviously vehemently refused by the individual. And this is how Ivalo Trek Lapland racks up the sum of 250 euros from a young couple, including a pregnant woman frozen by 4 hours of aimless waiting in a field. In short to summarize: expensive, dishonest and unprofessional, move on without hesitation.

We had a wonderful experience at Wild Spirit Park. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and it was clear that she cares deeply for the animals. You can see the love and dedication in the way she manages the park and looks after the animals. It’s a fantastic place to visit if you’re looking for an authentic and heartwarming experience with wildlife. Highly recommend it!

The most loveliest place where you get the chance to get a tour and can feed reindeers and foxes (if it's blueberry season). I totally recommend to go there as they have foxes, reindeers, alaskan huskies, ratoon dogs, laughing doves and quails. The owner told us stories about their animals and answered all of our questions ♥️ I recommend calling the phone from the Facebook page or writing there a message and booking your visit. Praying area next to the entrance. The ticket was 20€ and you can only pay cash at the entrance

This is a lovely thing to do with or without kids. Lovely cared for animals who have been rescued, and the enclosurs are very big. Would thoroughly recommend. You need to book ahead by email but it's simple and Tina will get back to you fairly quickly. It's also cheap, 20 euro in Finland is good value.
David P — Google review
Great tour with amazing local animals! We didn’t pre book but got lucky as we turned up just as one was starting. Otherwise you need to pre book as I think she just runs one per day. Excellent value for money, super interesting to hear about the animals she has rescued and their histories.

Unforgettable experience with animals and nature!! Visiting Wild Spirit Park in Inari was one of the highlights of my Lapland trip. The animals are clearly well cared for, and it felt special to see them up close while learning about their behavior and stories. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. You can really feel the respect they have for the animals. This place isn’t a touristy zoo, it’s more of a sanctuary where you connect with the spirit of Lapland’s wildlife. I left with a deeper appreciation for nature and some truly unique memories. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Inari!

We were just passing through the area and decided to stop at this wonderful, well-organized place. My husband and I really enjoyed our time there! The owner Daina was very friendly and helpful with all the guests. It’s definitely worth a visit. Just keep in mind — cash is important, as they don’t accept online payments
Nony N — Google review
We stumbled across this park during our drive between Inari and Ivalo in autumn, and we are thoroughly blown away by our experience here. The owner, Tiina, was kind enough to accommodate us despite no prior arrangement, as we only called her number when we were at the gate. To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend arranging a visit before visiting. The park houses several animals, several of them rescued from fur farms. For 10 euros per pax, Tiina gave two of us a private tour of her farm, and took time to introduce each animal by name to us. We saw Artic foxes, Huskies, reindeers, raccoon dogs and even Finnish goats. She also gave us the chance to feed and pet some of them, and we really enjoyed getting to know Spike and Ruska, two really friendly Huskies. Rudolph the reindeer was also cute. The tour took around an hour, and we coils really see Tiina's passion and love for her animals. The way the different animals react to her, especially the Artic foxes, also speaks volumes. Overall, the business felt authentic and local, and was definitely more enjoyable and personalised than the more commercialised offerings from tour operators. We are so glad we took a leap of faith to stop our car and explore, and we're glad to have supported a local business. This is something you should definitely do if you're at Ivalo or Inari.
Luke P — Google review
During our guided tour in the park, Tiina carefully explained all particularities of her animals and her park. She really created a small gem! We highly appreciated how she took her time and can only recommend visiting. Thank you Tiina!

Utsjoki Aurora Holidays & restaurant

Utsjoki Aurora Holidays & restaurant is a top destination for experiencing the enchanting northern lights. The staff, particularly Tina and Tija, are incredibly hospitable and make guests feel like part of the family. The food served at the restaurant is a delightful fusion of various cuisines, including Finnish dishes. Visitors have found their stay to be worth every penny and are eager to return.
I travelled solo in September 2024 to celebrate my birthday and what a memorable trip it was! I made wonderful friends during my week stay; a combination of solo travellers, couples and friend groups - perfect for everyone! The food was amazing and all the finer details were covered. Tiina is a fabulous host! I'm not used to booking an all-inclusive trip, but boy did this experience completely change my mind on that! I didn't have to lift a finger and everything was organsied and ready to go. I really could just relax and enjoy! We saw wonderful autumn colours, dancing northern lights on multiple nights, and some cosy rain while I was warm inside my impeccably clean cabin. Fantastic included activities; things you definitely don't get to do in ordinary life. I could not fault Tiina, her team and the wonderful experience they have created at Aurora Holidays - I truly believe this is the best way to see the northern lights on a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Thank you!

Our trip with Aurora Holidays (Tina & Sonja) was absolutely magical! From the moment we landed at Ivalo Airport, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The cabins were modern and spacious, beautifully renovated, with private saunas. Tina and Sonja expertly planned our days based on our chosen activities and weather, allowing us to relax and enjoy a well-paced schedule. The meals were delicious and plentiful, the king crab was out of this world! What truly set this trip apart was the convenience. We didn't need to chase the Northern Lights; they danced right above our cabins! The views were breathtaking. Tina and Sonja's passion for their locally owned business shines through in every detail. They genuinely care about creating an unforgettable experience. Their personal touch made the trip feel authentic and special. Highly recommend Aurora Holidays for a truly unforgettable Arctic getaway.

8 of us friends went to Utsjoki(sept16-21) to spend a week with Aurora Holidays. From the time we were picked up in Ivalo to the time we were dropped off at the end of the stay.....it was magical. The atmosphere was very homely. The staff were always willing to help. The food was amazing. The young chef came up with some excellent , tasty dishes and never repeated the same dish again. The tours during the day were very enjoyable especially the King crab fishing expedition. Our Guides were outstanding. Tina, the owner is responsible for making it very enjoyable and comfortable. She is there for every event and she took some fantastic pictures of us under the Northern lights. We were lucky to see the lights 3 nights in a row. The autumn colors were and amazing. It was a very memorable trip and our heartfelt thanks to Tina and her team for making this so memorable. We want to go back there to experience the Polar nights

An unforgettable experience! We stopped by for a meal before seeing the Northern Lights and were warmly welcomed. The host was lovely, sharing stories about Finland and even showing us videos of reindeer races. The food was incredible—our reindeer and fish burgers were fresh, and full of flavor. And to top it off, we were treated to breathtaking views of the Northern Lights. A must-visit for a magical evening!

I spent a wonderful 5 nights with Tiina and her team at Aurora holidays this month. As a solo traveller with social anxiety, I could not have been happier with my experience. Tina’s place feels like home, and she has a way of making one feel comfortable and at ease. The cottages are very cosy and well equipped, the food was excellent (with dietary requirements well catered for) and the Aurora hunting was a dream come true. I also really loved feeding the reindeer and the day trip to Norway. Thanks Tiina, Sonja and Saara!

I vacationed with Aurora Holidays and had a fabulous time! I would LOVE to go back after Polar Nights is done though. Tiina, Sonja, Sarah and the rest of the team were wonderful. Sonja is incredibly knowledgeable and so funny!! My cabin was cozy and comfy, just wish we had a TV but my laptop/ipad worked just fine too. The food was delicious. The restaurant has a computer and camera watching for the Auroras at all times so we know when to head out. Thank you Tiina and crew for such a memorable experience. I’ll be back, promise!

What an amazing holiday with Tiina, Sonja, Sarah and the rest of the team who make Aurora Holidays a real home from home getaway. The lodge is spacious and warm with everything you need. The home cooked food is very tasty and plentiful and the included trips are well thought out and very enjoyable (especially the day trip to Norway- a dip in the sea is well worth the experience whilst you’re there). The lunch with king crab is also out of this world! We had clouds the first two nights of our stay so were a bit concerned we wouldn’t see the Northern Lights but we needn’t have worried as the third night they were out in force even though we had to drive a short distance to find them. The following night we were treated to a spectacular show right above our cabin and we were mesmerised for hours. Overall the holiday surpassed our expectations and we have recommended Aurora Holidays to all our family and friends. Thanks again to the team for making our bucket list trip so special.
Sharron P — Google review
Tiina and the team at Aurora Holidays in Utsjoki go above and beyond to ensure their guests have the holiday of a lifetime. The accommodation is spotless, the food is delicious and the Guides are extremely knowledgeable. We were fortunate enough to have stayed over New Year 2024 into 2025, and even experienced 2 x New Years as we had one in Finland, then Tiina drove us over the border into Norway (an hour behind) so we could Time Travel and have a 2nd New Years Eve celebration! Tiina supplied sparklers, a glass of fizz and some delicious snacks when we returned to our accommodation. A New Years Eve to remember for a very long time :) The day trips are well thought out and very reasonably priced. My husband and I experience Snow Shoeing, feeding Reindeer, a tour of the local village and Dog Sledding. I even had a dip in freezing cold Varangerfjord and the Artic Ocean.... ....and if all of this wasn't brilliant enough....we saw the stunning and beautiful Northern Lights every night of our holiday ! We LOVED our stay with Tiina and the team at Aurora Holidays and can't wait to go back again. 100 per cent recommend

Pielpajärvi Wilderness Church is a centuries-old landmark in Inari, known for its stunning beauty both inside and out. The church has been a gathering place for inhabitants during cold winters and is one of the oldest constructions in Northern Lapland, dating back to 1760. While it now functions for special services like Easter and Midsummer, visitors can still appreciate its historical significance by making a small donation towards its upkeep.
This stunning trail with the church is amazing! You walk in quiet trail, in contact with nature. Closed to the church there’s a beautiful fireplace and toilets, always clean. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Inari.
Alice T — Google review
Do NOT follow the Google Maps trail for pedestrians which leads you into the middle of nowhere (with no access to the church) and is dangerous because it forces you to walk for over two hours on a main road with cars and other heavy vehicles. Choose the path from behind the parking lot of the SIIDA museum which is signposted. The walking trail to the church is breathtaking and the church itself is beautiful and well worth seeing. Make sure you have a mosquito net to protect yourself from the abundance of mosquitoes and horseflies!
Ayeshah — Google review
A great day hike from Inari. The terrain is rough, so make sure you have proper shoes, lots of drinking water and snacks with you. Along the way you will see some information about Sami traditions and of course, magnificent views.
Aki H — Google review
Such a wonderfull abandoned church in top of a hill in middle of the woods. Old about 300 years, many story's are around it, about a century ago a women had be slaughter, if you are walking by night there you could see her walking trying to scream. And the second historical fact was during the second great war where this church was a defense point where it had a gatling on top of its church !
Clovis B — Google review
Beautiful church completely made out of wood! The trail leading to the church and camping area ist easy, yet I’d recommend sturdy shoes even though it’s also easily doable wearing sneakers. The lake and facilities such as toilets, benches, and a hut with a fireplace and in a great shape! Definitely do this hike when you’re in the area.
Johannes — Google review
What a beautiful hike! One hour walk, without stopping and a big backpack (experienced runner). Heard that the church is not always open, but just go for it. The outside is stunning and if you have the change, talk to the shepherd, he knows a lot about the area. Go there with sun, you get nice pics...
Rene T — Google review
Beautiful hike through ancient wilderness with ponds and marshes. The hike itself is easy but takes time because of the rocks and stumps. Carefully pick your season for this hike. Children and dogs can come along if they are used to these kind of hikes. Day cabin and fire pit just before the church. Church itself is of historic value and in very good shape.

Lovely landscapes and nature on the route and an unique church. Paths are semi-demanding with a lots of rocks and tree roots. If you are doing one to two days hike near Inari and choosing between this and the dull and quite boring Lemmenjoki national park's routes choose this.

Very cool museum! We spend about 2hrs here, and were fortunate that the European Gold Panning Championships were on-going, so we spend some time over there as well. Well worth the stop!

Part of the Tankavaara Gold Village Resort, this is a touristy museum that documents the history of gold panning in Finland and other parts of the world. They have informative exhibitions and boards. Highly recommend visiting this place together with the other gold related activities in this place if you're passing by. You can buy some gold related souvenirs here as well.
Luke P — Google review
Pretty interesting about the gold mining history. It is not huge. Nice stop for a walk and learning about gold mining in the area.
Tiina — Google review
A wide variety of information about the international history of gold mining. Reserve sufficient time for the museum since it provides a dense and vast collection of historical facts and exhibits. The Museum also has an outside area with authentic gold miner huts and a gold panning course. Especially for families, I'd recommend stopping by and visiting the museum! It was a great experience. The only question mark for me is that the gold miner village in western style did not fit the rest of the exhibition.
Marco K — Google review
If you are interested of history of gold digging this place to visit.

A little bit dated and maybe sad looking place. However, very informative and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here. I recommend a visit and I also recommend having a meal in the Golden Village.

We had a wonderful experience in Lapland with Aurora Service Tours. The cottages are warm and well equipped, the guide Andrew is friendly and experience with the cold outdoors. The scenery is so beautiful. We can choose which day activities to sign up for based on our interest. Best of all, we are at a very good location to view the Auroras, just dash out the moment we receive the alerts! Highly recommend!
Youling L — Google review
The company offers a transport service to Lomatarrpi holiday village close to Utsjoki, as well as multiple activities such as snowmobile driving, husky sledging and snowshoe walking. In addition, someone will drive you around North Lapland and Norway to chase the cloud breaks to spot the aurora. Our experience with Canice was great, he has been a great driver and a pleasant companion for all our evenings! Even though we did not spot stunning auroras, we have really enjoyed the activities and sitting by the fire in the Finnish Kota for a chat and warm drinks. The only downside was the price, which seemed very high for what you get, but still in line with the rest of other aurora resorts or services.
Filippo — Google review
Such a highlight of our trip to Finland! Tony runs a small but full-service Lapland tour in Utsjoksi, up in the north of the country, directly across the border from Norway. The location at nearly 70 degree north latitude means you’re more likely to see the Aurora Borealis (though it ultimately comes down to a combination of the magnetosphere activity, weather and some luck). The cabins were super cozy with washing machine, drying cabinet, dishwasher, fridge, showers, fireplace, and of course its own sauna. We stayed in their Asgaard B cottages which are their newest and come with the above amenities. We chose a 4 night stay and saw the Aurora every night except for the last when we got a pretty big snowstorm. Some nights we viewed the AB from a large viewing tower right near the cabins. Other nights, we drove as far as Norway to see them, even stopping off the side of the road when the Borealis presented itself. At times it came and went quickly but when the activity was strong, we watched for 20-25 minutes at a time! After being picked up from the airport (it’s about a 2+ hour drive up to the cabins), we were dropped off at a large grocery store to buy all the needed supplies for the week. We had 1 hour which is just enough to translate some Finnish product descriptions (outside the obvious fruits, veg, chips, etc). Tony and team (Ian was really great, super helpful and also friendly and always made us feel so welcomed) offered activities on all days (the husky rides, ice-fishing, ice fall snow shoe walking, snowmobiling and reindeer farm visit) can be purchased à la carte and paid same day. This means you can plan them relatively last minute and if you prefer to just walk around the forest or rest in the cabins you can. The tours also provided full snowsuits and the snowshoes if you needed. Lastly, there is a covered common smoke pit near the viewing tower where we grilled artic fish one night, we saw our neighbors making smores and other foods too. We had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone planning a trip up to see the Aurora Borealis!

We had an absolutely fantastic time in Utsjoki, Finland with Tony as our guide! He showed us the mesmerizing Northern Lights and led us on thrilling sleigh rides with adorable huskies and snowmobile adventures. Tony was incredibly informative, enlightening us about everything in Finland. It was worth every single cent! Definitely 5 stars for Tony's exceptional tour… 🫎sean & vivian 💫

Best Aurora tour of my life! These guys know their aurora's and calculate the best place to view from. I was literally blown away when a corona appeared over head and proceeded to surround us in beautiful curtains of colour. 100% recommend the whole team!

Darren was a brilliant tour guide! He made our family dream trip perfect if every way, nothing was an issue and he was so very knowledgeable but importantly he made it easy for us to understand and to get 3 nights of the northern lights was outstanding and for him to allow us extra time to see the lights in all their glory was the perfect ending. Would have no issue recommending Aurora for anyone to book them!! Thank you you legend Dazza!!!!

Siida - Sámi Museum and Nature Center is a captivating destination that offers a deep dive into the culture of the Sami people and the stunning Lapland nature. The museum showcases the history and lifestyle of the indigenous Sami through informative displays, documenting their relationship with the wilderness over centuries. The state-of-the-art exhibitions provide an in-depth look at both the Sami community and the ecology of northern Lapland, featuring seasonal depictions of nature through photographs and information panels.
The museum impressed me with its thoughtful design and diverse exhibits, offering something for everyone—archaeology, Lapland’s natural beauty, Sami culture, and their modern traditions. The outdoor section stood out, allowing visitors to step inside buildings and gain a deeper appreciation of Sami life. At least two hours are ideal to explore without rushing. The staff were welcoming and helpful, enhancing the experience. The museum’s interactive displays, multilingual translations, and well-maintained facilities, including lockers and restrooms, added convenience throughout.
W L — Google review
We had a truly wonderful time visiting the Sámi Museum Siida — it is one of the most interesting, if not the most interesting, museums we have ever visited. The entire experience felt thoughtful, immersive, and beautifully designed. The museum has both indoor and outdoor sections, each offering a different perspective on Sámi culture and Arctic life. The indoor exhibitions are extremely well curated, with artifacts and displays arranged in a clear and engaging way. Each piece is accompanied by explanations on touchscreens available in different languages (including several versions of the Sami language!), making it very convenient and accessible even without a tour guide. The outdoor open-air section captures Sámi heritage and traditions so vividly. The detailed explanations help you understand how different structures — such as traditional houses, sauna, storage buildings, and traps — were used in daily life. Walking among these spaces really brings the history and lifestyle of the Sámi people to life. The museum also offers excellent practical amenities, including plenty of lockers and clean bathrooms. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the cafeteria, which offers a daily-changing buffet featuring local ingredients and flavors. They also serve specialty coffees and pastries if you prefer something lighter. Finally, the gift shop was beautifully arranged, with a wide selection of unique local handicrafts, books, and souvenirs — perfect for bringing a piece of the experience home. If you are visiting the region, we highly recommend making time for this museum. It is an inspiring and eye-opening experience that deepens your appreciation for Sámi culture and the Arctic environment.

What a great experience. STUNNING imagery, informative descriptors and immersive audio. Indoor installments were incredible, but don’t skip the outdoor installments.
Martin D — Google review
Fantastic and very informative place. Lovely displays, great outdoor area and brilliant cafe. Worth the short drive. Also, there is a good walk to some lovely rapids just over the bridge, make sure you visit.
Aled M — Google review
The museum is well designed and structured. It feels like anybody could find something for themselves here: would it be the archeological finds, the nature in Lapland, the WWII impact on Sami or their culture today. The outdoor section is also quite impressive, and it’s amazing that visitors are allowed inside some of the structures. I would recommend to plan 1.5-2hrs of your time for a visit. We didn’t feel like there was a need to purchase the tickets in advance, and there was no problems with buying them on site. The canteen on premises is very handy. They offer buffet lunches and the food was tasty and fresh.

Nestled in the heart of Rovaniemi, Lordi's Square is a vibrant commercial plaza that pays homage to Finland's beloved Eurovision-winning heavy metal band. Renamed from Sampo Square in 2006, this lively spot celebrates local hero Mr. Lordi, whose roots trace back to Rovaniemi. The square serves as a hub for visitors and locals alike, offering an array of restaurants and shops that make it perfect for leisurely strolls or people-watching.
Lordi square... You MUST know Lordi if you want to really appreciate this place. Hard Rock Hallelujah is not just a hit, is an anthem for Rovaniemi. Personally, this place was the best in my visit in Rovaniemi, I enjoyed as you have no idea!

It a square in central Rovaniemi, Finland. Next to the square are located a shopping centre called Sampokeskus and a small boulevard. There are also various restaurant and cafes located here. The square is especially popular as a venue for various events. There is also a official Santa office located here. Entrance is free but one need to pay for taking photo with Santa. I went there around Christmas and there is a Christmas market selling various Christmas themed items. There is also a skating ring for kids can have fun.

Sapmi Park offers a fully immersive experience in the Sami culture, allowing visitors to indulge in traditional Sami cuisine, enjoy music by the fire, and relax in a lavvu, a traditional Sami tent. Additionally, visitors can explore the Sami Centre for Contemporary Art in Karasjok or take a boat to Ukko Island, an ancient village across Inari Lake. The park also provides an audio-visual experience that left one visitor deeply moved.
I didn't see the museum, but only the gift shop and café. I think they need to be added to Google maps as a separate entity. But anyway, the gift shop is attractively designed and decorated. There is also a café. Everything is neat and pleasant. See my pictures for some ideas.

We visited this park during the winter. Apart from a relatively big souvenir shop (which has quite a large selection of souvenirs) and a glass blowing shop, we weren’t too sure what was supposed to happen here (though admittedly this may be a summer spot rather than a winter one). There is supposed to be a film / exhibition of the Sami culture, but that requires booking with a hotel / tour agency. When we went, one can’t simply enter or visit it without prior booking. (Again, not sure if it is a winter specific case - best to check before going)
Nahshon — Google review
Very nice place, the park was interesting 30 mins inside and 30 outside. Prices can be high for the food but the souvenirs and film it can be worth it. Kind employees too :)

Visitors can enjoy hot and cold open-air baths as well as traditional saunas. The village features impressive artwork, an ice gallery, and a cozy café with gluten-free options. Accessible by various means such as biking or skiing from Levi center, it's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Levi.
Cozy and beautiful cafe on the crossroads of ski tracks, snowmobile tracks and a car road. Home baked buns, donuts and pies, Soup and more. Very nice and friendly owners.
Anna A — Google review
Very poor communication from staff, was told it was open by a flyer from tourist info but having paid 40euro entry fee it was only the ice bar & chapel open, of note not even with staff to serve a drink! None of the rooms nor the kids area to view as still being constructed. Such a shame as holiday was wonderful in Lapland until this point but would never have paid if they had advertised it as barely starting construction! Likely to be wonderful when finished but now a parent of an upset child & no time to do anything else before our flights home. For anyone hoping to go when we complained (not even receiving an apology) it apparently actually opens (completed?) 1st January.
Yasette P — Google review
Not great, went 2 years ago, it was fantastic, this year, absolute rubbish, go to the ice village near Ylläs, it's a million times better. This had the odd ice carving, most of the bedrooms were plain, we looked around in about 20 mins and we took our time, save your money and go elsewhere, same price, tons better. Also, they don't recognise disabled access and my carer had to pay, everywhere else, my carer went free, even for skiing. Avoid this place!

Worst place to get info on Northern light. It was our honeymoon we were looking for northern light. They were unable to give us any advice, where to book. Not perfectly managed at all. We wanted 10km Husky Safari with a baby and they just said we don’t have that available even thought they claimed working with all husky providers in the area. So they told us to call to all providers on our own and figure out if we get what we wanted. So is that really so??? And yes surprisingly I managed to find perfect safari for us and our baby and there were places left even for Christmas rides. So thanks to me we got a perfect husky ride in the end but the tourist information office or staff didn’t do much service since even the phone numbers we got from them were wrong.

Auto Race Tracks
Icekarting Levi offers an unforgettable experience in Lapland, Finland. Participants are equipped with all necessary gear and receive training before racing on the track, which is lined with 2-foot tall snow walls for safety. The carts have a 13 H/P engine and can reach speeds of up to 60km/h, with sensors accurately tracking laps and times. After two 15-minute sessions, there's a break for hot drinks by the fire before heading back out onto the track.
Had heaps of fun at the ice carts. We had a group of 8 with varied driving skills & a track to ourselves. Everyone enjoyed it. 2 rides of 15 minutes each was OK. Kids also had fun on the tube slide.after. A food outing
Nic M — Google review
Fantastic place to take the kids for some serious fun! We crashed a few times, which just added to the excitement! Loved that they change the track direction, keeping it interesting. The equipment was clean and kept us warm in the karts. They also have tubing, which was great fun – definitely brought out my inner child, lol! It was a bit slippy bringing the tubes back up, and younger kids might find them a little heavy, but apart from that, it was a brilliant day out!"
Dean D — Google review
Really good time at the ice karting! The staff was friendly, there was a campfire and hot juice during the break, and karting on ice is pretty fun !
Jérémy J — Google review
Fun. You get two 15min sessions with a break in-between to have a hot drink around the fire & then get back on the track in the opposite direction. Really easy to drive just using the accelerator and not using the break. There's a pedal adjustment to help anyone if their feet can't quite reach the pedals. If you're early, you can relax in the cafe which overlooks the race track so you can watch. They also do tubing here for those who enjoy snow slides.
Victoria M — Google review
Great experience and totally worth a visit if in Levi. We booked the two 15min session which were on the same track but the second was reversed. You need to book in advance and there is a free bus from outside Zero Point. They serve some light refreshments in the go kart centre.
Dean J — Google review
Driving a kart on a slippery track is incredibly fun! I highly recommend paying this place a visit, especially since a free transfer from Levi center is offered. When we came there, we were warmly welcomed, and girls who helped us with the gear were extremely friendly. Overall, I can conclude this experience with a single phrase: "It was AWESOME!". Worth every cent.

Was honestly an amazing experience and the people working there were lively and nice to talk to. Very clear instructions and fun little course with functional karts

It was an amazing experience in Lapland that one not to be missed. We were trained with video tutorials and given special shoes, helmets, suits, gloves and many other accessories. The cart car having 13 H/P engine and can speed up to 60km/h. It having speed and safety monitor and side of tracks are made of 2 feet tall tick snow wall. So the safety is promised. The race was between four of us. The sensors fitted on both sides of the track mark the laps covered and time taken accurately. After 3 or 4 rounds, we got the hang of it. . It was getting dark soon, so first we posed for some photos then move to the race. The first lap was very difficult. But we learned the technique very fast. Drifting through the ice is very tricky and lots of fun. Also a few times we crashed each other and hit on the snow wall. Its a must do activity on your arctic circle trip

Lapland Hotels Snow Village is a unique accommodation option offering rooms and suites made entirely of ice, as well as cozy cabins with private hot tubs. Every November, skilled ice sculptors gather in Kirovsk to create the stunning Snow Village, featuring intricate ice sculptures and themed displays that change annually. Visitors can enjoy thrilling activities like riding a snowmobile-pulled giant banana or exchanging vows in the enchanting Ice Chapel.
This year was probably one of the best years I've ever experienced in Snow Village in the last 8 years in a row. The underwater life theme this year is absolutely beautifully created , well planned, and precisely organised. There is a lot of hard work and patience behind project and i admire everyone who participated in this beautiful winter project.

It was a part of the experience of Saaga, Hotel Lapland at Yllas, Lapland, Finland. There were beautiful ice carvings, a music room, theatre, ice restaurant, glass restaurant, honeymoon suite, souvenir store and many more. The hot chocolate and different alcohol options were awesome. Every year they build the snow structures in the arrival of winters with artificial snow and it gradually melts during summer. The place has its own tour guides, who will introduce you to all the places inside. I highly recommend visiting this place.
Arka M — Google review
The ice exhibit was really amazing and worth the price but just note that you have to pay for it separately, even if you're eating dinner there. The ice restaurant was also amazing, but you're really going for the experience and not necessarily the food. In full disclosure, we went on Christmas Eve and it was their first night open of the season, and it was a set menue, but 48 Euros for kids chicken nuggets and fries hurt. Adult meals were good. Ice bar in the ice exhibit was fun, unique, etc. Bottom line - it's an expensive endeavor but when you consider the insane amount of work and artistry that goes into building the place each year, you'll feel better about the cost.

Fantastic experience at a place that exists only in the most northern regions of our globe! The amount of hours and dedication spent to create this art is astonishing. Well done!

It’s something very special. I found the entrance fee of €25 very steep though. You’re basically done in 45 mins or less. Dress very warm! It’s colder inside than outside.

Awesome experience. Love the two type of the art one north mythology and one Finish. Rooms and art work looked so cool. Loved the touch of ice bar and drinks in ice glasses. There was some queue but just walk one lap and there will be no queue. Very impressive place. Staff members have great humor loved it.

Visiting here was really cool, especially for someone like me who comes from a tropical island. The talent and art was stunning and just the whole idea of them coming up with themes and finding artist from around the world to bring it all together is just fantastic. This year’s theme was the Nordic Mythology and we had so much fun on the ice slide. We also had lunch in the ice restaurant and I enjoyed the soup.
Jenita D — Google review
Very good. Awesome ice hotel. This year's theme is Nordic legend so far there's Thor's hammer made of ice. Hotel is still being built but the ice sculptures inside are amazing. Bar prices are not cheap but then you'd expect them not to be with the amount of work that's gone in to build the hotel.

We thank staf and guides at Lapland Safris for making our winterbreak a huge succes and an unforgettable memory. PS, nice option for teambuilding trips for companies.

Wow! We had an excellent snowmobile trip with Bartek, our tourguide. We were lucky with the sun on our 3 hour tour. It was just the 2 of us and we both had our own snowmobile, which I can highly recommend. It will cost a little more, but I got the time to get used to riding it so the second half of the trip I could go faster and I was enjoying it even more! We were happy with our guide. He gave good instructions and was fun to have around. Lapland safaris provided us with good gear, so it was all safe and fun to ride.

The trips that they organise are once in a lifetime experiences. We went on a Reindeer tour and a trip to the Snow Village, both were very well organised.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, located in Kittilä in Finnish Lapland, is the third largest national park in Finland. Established in 2005, it aims to preserve the unique landscape of fells surrounded by forests and mires. The park offers marked walking trails for visitors to explore its vast landscapes and enjoy the cleanest air in the world.
I've run all of pallas-yllätunturi national park, and it is without a doubt an amazing breath taking place to go to and experience. I often dream of returning to such a unique place to visit these old and eroded fells

Hiked the trail to Keimiötunturi. You can park your car on the car park next to the road leading to Tunturikeimiö. Walk up to Tunturikeimiö. There will be a sign pointing to the Keimiötunturi trail right after you pass the cafe. Follow the trail where you will find another smaller sign on a tree on the first left in the pine tree forest. After around 400m, you will arrive at a wooden reindeer fence. You can go through it by moving some of the poles to the side. Make sure to close it after you get inside. Continue the path where it will soon start getting very steep and rocky. The entire trail has about 600m of elevation, 6km round trip, and takes around 2-3 hours. The view keeps getting better as you go up. Highly recommended!

It's a blessing to visit this national park! We first went to the visitor center to have a map and some guidance, and then we went to sisu to rent gear and for more details. Spent two nights in the mountains and was lucky to see the aurora. Will come back again soon

Aitoa Lappia, jossa hienoa vaeltaa pientenkin lasten kanssa (Orava Avenue lähtee päätöstä ja vie taukotuvalle, jossa tulistelupaikka)./ Real Lapland with awesome fell views all around. Easy to hike with children also (check Orava Avenue ..it starts from the main Road before the hotel and leads to a cottage with camp Firenze place) . Safe to hike as you can see faraway ..so few trees. Can see reindeers if lucky. Good place to snowshoeing also if not foggy weather. Hart to find overnight places as only one hotel.

Nature, nature, lovely undisturbed nature, clean air, wind and sound of streams. Drink clean, cold, revitilizing water from streams, listen to birds songs, follow reindeers in forest but be aware of them on the road. Despite of ocasional rain we had great time hiking and sleeping in huts/cottages and tent. Ruska is especially wonderful time to come to Lapland. And any other ti.e as well if you love nature and you want to escape city. Unfortunately my Telia connection was almost always working in here. Though putiing airplane mode can fix this problem if you want to enjoy yourself without getting disturbed 😊😁😌😎

Returned in 2019, for the fifth year in the national park. Why? I love x-crountry skiing, the routes are well maintained and the huts spread across the parks are amazing. This is a must, of course seen the northern lights on three nights was a wonderful

Hetta Huskies, located near the Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park in the town of Hetta, offers an unforgettable experience with their well-cared for dogs. Visitors can enjoy a thrilling husky sleigh ride through picturesque landscapes and even learn to drive their own sleds after receiving instructions. The friendly and professional team provides insight into the history of the dogs before the ride and allows ample time to interact and cuddle with the affectionate animals.
Words can't express how thrilled I was to receive this as a Christmas gift! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, clearly passionate about their dogs. And the dogs themselves? Absolutely amazing! So friendly and eager to run. The sleigh ride was pure magic - an exhilarating rush unlike anything I've ever experienced. Being pulled through the snowy landscape by these powerful, beautiful animals was truly unforgettable. The best part? Getting to cuddle and play with the dogs afterwards. This is a must-do for anyone who loves animals and craves a unique adventure. I guarantee you'll leave with a huge smile on your face!

We did the farm tour and it was lovely! Great for 5 year old boy to see and walk around. Not too long of a walk. Great for kids! The dogs are so sweet and cuddly. Would definitely come back to do other tours! Thank you!

We had a 20 km safari and we loved it. The staff is friendly and communicate well on the do’s and dont’s. Plenty of time to interact with the dogs and learn about them and the care for them. The staff will check your clothes before leaving to make sure you won’t get cold. If needed, you can rent additional warm clothing. Recommended.

We had a truly amazing experience doing the 20 km Safari. It felt too short after all the beautiful experiences and scenery we experienced. You can truly feel that the people who run the husky farm love their dogs and what they do as a living. It is also worth knowing that they take really exceptionally good care of their dogs and even the older and weaker ones get loved and are cared for.

Brilliant husky tour. The farm is very well maintained and they were able to accommodate our young (2 years old) daughter on a sled. Our tour went through some beautiful countryside and our guide, Carmen, was very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend Hetta Huskies

Amazing experience! We took the multi day tour and we enjoyed every part of it. Dogs are incredibly strong and always ready to run, but also super lovely. The guides were very friendly and well organised. I would recommend it without any doubts!

We visited the farm in August with our sons, aged 10 and 7 and had the best day out. We were able to have a cart ride but the best part of the day for the children was playing with the puppies. I really enjoyed the detailed tour and explanations from Tim and Anna. I much prefer going to a place like this where things are a little improvised, rather than being sterile and touristy and where you are involved in helping with getting the dogs ready etc.. In my opinion, it makes the experience much more worthwhile and stretches the fun out. I also think it was very good value for money compared to other places I found on the internet. Last but not least, the dogs are very loved and well cared for. Keep up the good work!

A nice half an hour walk up to the Gorsabrua bridge to experience the scenic landscape. Absolutely awesome experience. We visited the place outside the bungee jump hours, so there wasn't that many people around. If you're not into jumping, I recommend visiting some other day when there isn't jumpers around as you can enjoy the views from the bridge in peace. Walk to the bridge is filled with nice views and there is also a fireplace with seats in some point of the trail. Highly recommended! PS. People with fear of heights might feel some anxiety on the bridge as the canyon is really deep :)

Three Country Cairn

The Three Country Cairn, located at the meeting point of Norway, Sweden, and Finland, is a significant symbol of unity among nations. This unassuming stone monument marks the spot where you can freely walk from one country to another. The trek to reach this cairn involves a three-hour drive along the Finnish border and a 26km hike through diverse terrains, offering scenic views typical of each country. The well-marked trails make it easy to navigate through the stunning landscapes.
Breath-taking journey from Kilpisjärvi to the spot where the three northern Kingdoms unite! A definite must-see, something very special reminding us of the history and bond between our neighbouring countries ❤️
Iines P — Google review
It's been my dream to visit the cairn. This is where borders of Norway, Sweden, and Finland meet. The wonder of being in three countries at once is memorable in itself. Recommend either visiting in spring or just before onset of winter. Starting from Kilpisjärvi, Finland, the hike alone is worth it with the splendid views and scenic nature all around. I'd recommend bringing plenty of water and snacks to enjoy the nature here as one would have no idea how the hours just slipped by also do carry your first aid kit.
Vikrant C — Google review
Treriksröset, the “three-country cairn,” marks where Sweden, Norway, and Finland meet. The area is surrounded by beautiful nature, and the cairn itself sits on Lake Golddajávri, connected by a short 10-meter metal walkway. Nearby, on the Finnish side, you’ll find two huts – one of them free to stay in overnight, no booking needed. There are several hiking trails, some quite demanding. Keep in mind that camping isn’t allowed in much of the Finnish side (north-east), as it’s a nature reserve, but it seems fine on the Swedish side. And if you’re visiting in the warmer months – don’t forget mosquito repellent!
Albert K — Google review
Really nice place and views along the trail are awesome. Hike is about 12 kilometers on one way, so you should be really well prepared for this hike.
Ville A — Google review
A very nice and short hike to your place, about a 30-minute walk if you take the boat. If it has rained, boots can be good but not necessary, and mosquito repellent is recommended.
Anders N — Google review
Stunning location to visit all three counties at the same time. Norway, Sweden and Finland borders. Temperatures extremely cold on our snowmobile visit -30 🥶 We used kilpisjarvi safari and went as a group of over 20 people. Well organised trip with all your gear provided. Be sure to have hand and toe warmers. Also, thermals are a must !
Kim S — Google review
FINOSE: Finland on left foreground, Sweden on the left background and Norway the (almost) whole right part of the pic. If you are mad about countries borders and where three of them meet AND you happen to find yourself in this area: this is a very good, nice and easy one to get! The cairn is just a round block of cement yellow painted with the marks of the countries, but the area around is also a beautiful example and mix of the kind of nature this part of the world is made. TO GET THERE: I had two options. One is - I was told - 6 hours 15km almost flat but very long trail from the latest parking area on the Norway side just before the border or after it from another trail starting point. The second in the summer - that I took - getting close via a boat service from 69.047326, 20.794309 (Kilpisjärvi). With the boat ticket, the crew gives you some explanation of the area, you get a nice view from the lake and, most important, the walking part is then less than an hour, less than 4 km on a flat path anyone, even unfit like me, can make. You are given about 2 hours once the boat get to the endpoint, before it sails again back to Kilpisjärvi. In the period I visit it (June 2024) there were only two timing: at 10 and 15 (Don't forget the CEST-EEST time change if coming from Norway!). You want to show up some few minutes in advance just to get in line to board. Card payment was possible on board. The boat won't sail if there aren't at least 5 persons. It was Sunday afternoon when I got there. The receptionist of my camping told me that more or less they always run, there was never too few passengers nor a too crowded moment in that. If you want to mix the options there is also a one-way ticket. Look for Mallalaiva website "three-country-cairn". I was lucky the day was little dry, but the ground can get muddy and wet, so you'd better not to risk going there with just flip flops. Also in some period flies and mosquitos are the real problem. I was advised to buy a head-mosquito-net. Didn't need that day, but long sleeves and keeping my mouth shut helped a lot.

If I could give 6 stars I would! An absolutely incredible day from the pick up from town in a comfortable van by Aaron right to the end. It was a stunning hour drive to the farm and with some really quick and clear instruction by Anna we were out on the dogs in no time. After a long and beautiful run up and down hills we returned to the house for lunch and to get to know our hosts. They were kind and friendly and taught us all about the dogs and life as a musher. We loved that it was a small group of only 8 and out in the mountains meant our tour went ahead on a stunning blue sky day whilst many larger tours were cancelled. Do not hesitate to book with Northern Light Dog Adventures! Thank you Thomas, Aaron and Anna!

So many german reviews so i write one in english - not my first language so please be kind. Now the actual review: That was absolutly awesome! We pre booked another Tour from another company but it got cancelled on us last minute because of the autum rain. So we decided to book one day before having this Tour and cakled about cancelation but they were like: we don't cancel unless there is a hazard warnung. Eventhough it was raining cats and dogs it was an absolute Highlight of our Trip! They Provide you with warerproof Equipment, so don't worry about a thing. The dogs want to run and are super friendly, as well are the owners. We had such a great time and hope to return in Winter with snow :)

Completely exceeded our expectations and was the highlight of our trip to Tromso! The whole service; from the explanations, conversation, extra clothing, teas and coffees after the sledding was absolutely perfect! I really enjoyed how you could ride yourself and it wasn’t just on flat ground, you were going up and down hills as well. Such an adventure, I will carry this memory with me for the rest of my life! Everyone in the family is so lovely also.

We had such a great time on this tour. It's a small norwegean family business tucked away in the mountains. So no tourist trap. Even though it snowed a lot we could drive the sled for one hour. What an amazing feeling being out there with these lovely dogs and driving the sled by yourself. Uphill you need to help them a bit so you need to have a little bit of fitness. The mountains around, just stunning. I can recommend it to anyone!!! It's an experience you'll never forget in your life.

Fantastic! Exceeded all expectations. The team was great and we learned a lot about the sport. Everything was well prepared and ready to go before we arrived. They had additional clothes and provided warm drinks for after the sledding. The dogs are super friendly and well cared for. Would definitely return to do this again!

Northern Light Dog Adventure does an exceptionally well dogsledding experience. These guys take pride in providing a small group experience and when we went it was just my wife and I which was great because they were able to personalize the experience to suite us. We took the sleds through all types of different, beautiful and challenging terrain and even took us to create new trails! The dogs seem very well taken care of too. If you enjoy the "real" experience, small groups and don't enjoy the large tourist traps this is the place for you.

Arctic Cathedral

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Arctic Cathedral, a striking church in Tromso, Norway, is an architectural marvel with its pyramid shape and glass facade. Designed by Jan Inge Hovigand and inspired by the region's fiskeheller and lavvu, it stands out as a landmark. The spiral shape of the cathedral reflects the aurora borealis, while its titanium exterior mirrors the dancing lights in the sky.
The Arctic Cathedral is one of Tromsø's most iconic landmarks. It's located on the eastern side of the city, just across the Tromsøbrua Bridge in the Tromsdalen district. The cathedral resembles an iceberg or a Sami (Arctic indigenous) tent. The structure, made of white concrete and glass, contrasts with the sky and snow-capped mountains, symbolizing the beauty of the Arctic. Situated on a hillside with no tall buildings blocking the view, the Arctic Cathedral is a popular spot for viewing the Northern Lights during winter. The views are stunning, offering panoramic views of the city.

Beautiful place! If you opt for piblic transport you can direct get down at the nearest bus-stop, Very accessible place. And if you really want to visit by walking, I would suggest, stay there till the sunset, enjoy beautiful colors and head back. Its just 2-2.5 kms from harbor area.
Srilekha R — Google review
An inspiring piece of Nordic architecture with a relatively easy walk over the road bridge from the main part of Tromsø. The cathedral is slightly expensive for admission, and as we went a bit later in the day to see the stained glass lit up we didn't feel we would have had enough time inside for the cost. Other than that, it's a highly recommended place to visit if you are interested in Scandinavian design.
Caleb W — Google review
A modern structure sitting atop a hill, walkable from downtown area of Tromso. It is across the main bridge, about half an hour on foot or, by local bus. Since I'm not familiar with the bus route and I love walking, it suits me fine to cross the bridge. Make sure you walk on the path for pedestrians, not one for bicyclists. The wind is stronger across the bridge so bundle up. The cathedral was closed on the day I was in town, but it's nice to see the outside. A tall, erect structure in a giant triangle. There is not much outside to see, no garden, park or anything interesting so I didn't stay around long. Behind it is the route to the cable cars, interesting to take. $60 usd for the ticket if you like an aerial view of the town. The church itself is worth a walk to but unless it is open, visit nearby attractions such as the cable cars.
G D — Google review
I visited the Arctic Cathedral on a sunny day, and it was absolutely beautiful. The architecture is so unique, and the light made it shine even more against the mountains and water. The view from there was stunning, definitely one of my favorite spots in Tromsø.
Atria O — Google review
Beautiful piece of architecture! The lights come on at night and it looks even more spectacular. There is a fee to visit it inside. Side walks can be quite slippery so do have proper walking gear or even shoe spikes.
Tavi T — Google review
The Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø is truly beautiful. The unique architecture stands out against the surrounding landscape, and the big glass windows make it feel calm. Even just standing outside and looking at it is worth the visit.

A beautiful church, especially in the night. We twice took advantage of the thirty-minute organ concerts which are included within the 80 kroner entrance fee, one a mixed programme, the other Bach. The music was splendid, and the atmosphere so homely and warm.

These tours provide unique opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Tromsø and its fjords while enjoying different experiences depending on the season.
I did the fjord cruise today. Fred, Carlo and Freda were fantastic. They work as an awesome team, very friendly, very informative and had us all laughing on many occasions. This was a great tour and I really enjoyed it. The facilities onboard were good. The bar was well stocked and pastries available looked good too. The customer service was great and the presentation of the history of Tromso was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this tour and with this team. Thank you for a great day Fred, Carlo and Freda.
Claire N — Google review
I bought tickets for a sea tour in search of whales (Fjord Tours) started with strange things a week in advance. A few days later I found out that in December there is no sun, so I wrote a letter to the tour operator - is it really dark in December and how can you see whales in such darkness! No one replied to my letter. On the day of the tour, the 19 December 2024, from the morning breakfast at the hotel on time delayed, in a hurry had to gather. Got there in time to the meeting point Kaigata St. 6, there was already a lively line at the boat, waiting to board. Here came to the queue man (an employee of the tour company) and said that everyone went to board another boat of the same type. Although there was a boat in the place in a wound up state inside which the service personnel carried out preparatory work to prepare for departure. As a result, all about 15-20 people went to a different boarding place. The controllers at the boarding entrance checked the electronic tickets by QR code. Some of the tour participants, including me, were delayed in boarding because they had to do online registration. That is, you had to enter your personal data on the site of the tour operator. After entering, I chose a good seat for two on the lower deck by the window. But I asked my partner at the same time to see if there were better seats on the second floor than on the lower deck. The partner called upstairs. At the top it turned out that the place was chosen also by the window but for four people sitting next to each other (two against two at the table). Meanwhile the number of tour participants was increasing. In the end the following picture appeared: - at the top half of the participants consisted of Italians, most of whom were quite mature people, over fifty years old. They were noisier and talked louder than the rest of the attendees (non Italians). The tour operator tried to give information over the loudspeaker, but the Italians would not calm down and kept talking and laughing at full volume. Some of them turned on their cell phones on speaker and watched video clips. - A couple of Italians about fifty years old came over to us. Before we could sit down, they started kissing and hugging as if they hadn't seen each other for a long time. And it was obvious that they were playing around. But besides being chatty, they began to drink alcohol, after which there was a terrible odor. Anyone who doesn't drink understands me. The whole tour, on the second floor of the boat, most of the time there were fogged windows, stank of alcohol and cigarette stench. Italians (as I realized) were not interested in what was going on overboard and what was the purpose of the voyage. The main thing is talking, cell phones and drinking alcohol and of course walking back and forth to the toilets, slamming doors and spreading the stench on the top floor. Concluding this message/opinion about the trip I want to add the following: - I don't understand why the first boat was packed with passengers and the second boat was sent half empty? - Why the registration of these passengers tour operator does not conduct at the time of purchase of tickets, and makes you do it again a day before sailing, when it generally flies out of your head. But at the same time the tour operator informs that it is your fault that you did not register your data after the purchase, at the specified time. But I'm sorry, it's not my problem, it's yours. Because I was ready to enter all the data at the time of ticket purchase, so why should I do twice the work and waste my time again?! - Passengers walking every second just because they don't want to sit still even when the boat is rocking on the waves, - noisy toilet doors closing noisily, - Italians talking loudly, - watching videos on their cell phones at a loud volume, - disrespecting others, Anyone who does not like noisy and drinking communities, this tour will not be a pleasant experience with such a community. I regretted buying tickets for this tour at all.

Poor facilities on board and a terrible vessel for the trip out. Moored up at a location with major light pollution from the coastline for looking at the Northern lights. The guide !! Was a sales pitch only, terrible and avoid at all costs. Absolute waste of money and time.

The Polar Museum, located in a charming wooden building by the harbor in Tromsø, is part of the Arctic University Museum of Norway. It showcases scientific, cultural, and archaeological exhibits related to the area's history and heritage. The museum delves into the city's origins as a hub for Arctic hunters and explorers, featuring captivating displays on exploration, hunting, and wildlife in Svalbard.
It is really nice when you get there. You get to know the way of life in the North Pole and the polar history. Many representative items placed therein make it more realistic. The ticket is about 10€ per person. There are some souvenirs that you may also buy (prices are typical). A hard copy guide is given , free of charge, available in many languages.

A great little museum to learn about all things Artic. We were in Tromso Norway for holiday and we stumbled into this little museum. We were given an English booklet to explain about each room and the history behind. As someone from the tropical its really fascinating to learn about the Artic way of life, the people, the technician, Marine life and much more. A great little museum to check out while in town

What an unforgettable experience when I visited it on 26 March 2025! The Polar Museum in Tromsø absolutely blew me away. It's incredibly well maintained, and every corner is packed with fascinating stories from the Arctic explorers and trappers who braved the extremes. I loved how all the information was available in multiple languages—it made everything so accessible and inclusive. The exhibits are a perfect mix of engaging history, incredible taxidermy, and authentic artifacts that truly transport you back in time. I could almost feel the chill of the polar expeditions just walking through! And speaking of chill—the temperature inside is so well controlled, making the whole visit comfortable, the temperature outside was just -2 degrees. Touching pieces of history and learning about the raw, untamed Arctic life left me deeply moved. A must-visit if you're in Tromsø. You'll leave with a whole new appreciation for the spirit of exploration!

I've learned so much here! At the reception I received an information booklet with lots of engaging and interesting stories, including the North Pole expedition of the Fram ship and the adventures of Nansen. The pieces showed in the museum were a good visual aid for all the amazing stories.

Located in the heart of Tromsø, The Polar Museum (Polarmuseet) offers visitors a captivating journey into Norway’s Arctic past. Housed in a charming 19th-century warehouse by the harbor, this museum focuses on the lives of polar explorers, trappers, and whalers who ventured into some of the world’s harshest environments. It's not just a museum—it's a portal into the gritty, courageous world of Arctic survival and discovery. Inside, you’ll find detailed exhibits on legendary Norwegian explorers like Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen, who played key roles in conquering the North and South Poles. Through authentic artifacts, old photographs, and personal journals, the museum brings to life the extreme challenges these men faced, from bitter cold to months of isolation. There’s also a strong focus on hunting culture, especially the lives of seal hunters and trappers who once spent years living in Arctic wilderness. While this aspect can be controversial, the museum presents it with historical context, allowing visitors to reflect on both the resilience and the impact of human activity in the polar regions. Although it’s not large, The Polar Museum is rich in storytelling and atmosphere. The creaky wooden floors and dim lighting make it feel like stepping into a time capsule.
Phạm T — Google review
It’s a very interesting museum. Walking through the rooms filled with different exhibits, I genuinely felt like I was stepping through Tromsø's and Norway’s history, and I learned a lot about Arctic life! The only downside was the paper guides - they were a bit too long to read at times. I understand it might be a budget choice, but audio headsets or more consistent English labels on the exhibits would make the experience even better.

Tromso should be visited twice (at least). In summer to admire the midnight sun . In winter for the legendary northern lights.

Tromsø is truly special. The snowy mountains are beautiful, the Northern Lights are magical, and the people are warm and welcoming. Every day felt like an unforgettable adventure. It’s one of my favorite places, and one I could visit again and again without ever getting tired of it ✨🤍🌌

Don’t ask the lady with dark wavy hair and glasses for help, it’s too much for her to be polite. Am sure the other staff are lovely. The staff at the tourist office by the ferry terminal couldn’t have been more helpful.

Next to the cruise ship port that is very easy to identify, located in a building looks like a shopping mall from outside, there are couple clothing stores and a cafe with seating area! The visitor centre are located in the middle of the building, you need to take a mumble from a machine and wait for your turn! The visitor center also has limited amount of items you can purchase! Buses routes also clearly displayed! It is very nice and warm and helpful place!

Just like any tourist information centre, this is the place to be if you need any info. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, they can help you to book any tour if needed. This visitor centre is very modern, they have some touch screens console for you to search for the info you needed. The souvenirs and gifts sold here are very good quality, worth to buy. However, you can only find booklets/info about the Troms region here, not other regions.

Friendly and helpful personnel. They could speak English, Norwegian, German, Japanese and most likely much more. Through the information desk, a huge variety of activities can be booked. For example: dog sledding or Northern lights chase. Ice climbing etc. The shop features awesome tourist gifts. Including post cards and stamps.

Polaria aquarium is a unique and striking arctic aquarium located in Tromso, Norway. Housed in a modern building designed to resemble ice floes, the aquarium offers an interactive and educational experience focused on Arctic wildlife. Visitors can enjoy exhibits showcasing the impact of climate change on glaciers and Arctic wildlife. With its kid-friendly approach, Polaria is a must-visit attraction for families, offering a panoramic cinema and the opportunity to observe seals.
Loved my time at the Polaria aquarium in Tromso where the seals were definitely the highlight. The aquarium itself aims to be more educational than "entertaining", especially where the seals are concerned and they definitely managed to achieve this. Initially skeptical, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed myself, and how well the seals are taken care of and respected. Definitely recommend it to both children and adults.

Small aquarium but very nice exhibits. Some unique species since it focuses on arctic. It does have areas under construction so it is expanding. It has a very nice seal exhibit with tanks and a walk thru tunnel. 3 seal training sessions as well.

Such a fun place to visit! There are informational videos throughout the day, interactive exhibits and the seal feedings and trainings are open to watch. I would say the entry fee is slightly overpriced, but we still had a wonderful experience.

Great little place. Watched one of the seal feeding and spent ages watching them swim around. The individual exhibits are really cool too as is the viewing tunnel. Not a big place but we'll worth a visit. Really enjoyed it and they have some very good souvenirs too.

Nice place. Plenty of information accessible, staff is humble and you can shop. Only downside is there internal fixes going on in the building which kid of ruins the vibe and variety of species is limited. If you want to see seals eat, visit at 12:30 pm😄

We absolutely loved our visit to Polaria! It’s such a fascinating and family-friendly place — both educational and fun. The exhibitions, the aquarium, and especially the adorable seals kept us all entertained. Visiting Polaria was pretty fun. It's a small marine attraction, with some tanks with sealife, and the main attraction being the seal training sessions. Nicely accessible for wheelchairs. Construction work going on at the moment so some dirty and cold areas.

Lappland Media & Photo Adventures - Northern Lights Holidays in Abisko and Lapland

Tour operator
Tours
Lappland Media & Photo Adventures offers an unforgettable experience in Abisko, a remote region 200 kilometers above the Arctic Circle with only 100 residents. This destination is renowned for its spectacular Northern Lights viewing and rich Swedish Lapland culture. The tour is perfect for wanderlust travelers and aspiring photographers seeking to capture the beauty of the aurora.
Took a 4 Day Photography Tour with Peter to try and see the northern lights and ended up getting so much more. Peter is an expert in his field, and a person who offers his knowledge and shares the most wonderful places to take Northern Light Photos. He knows how to read the weather to decide where to go, to get the best chance of spotting Auroras, which led us to being very lucky and seeing them 3/4 nights. But even if the lights wouldn't dance, the program of the tour was wonderful. The Abisko Valley and Kiruna offer gorgeous views, wildlife spotting opportunities and the ice hotel felt like the visit to a museum sprinkled in between. Not once did we get a boring minute, from trying to find a hormonal capercaillie, to distinguishing ptarmigan from snowballs, riding a dog sleigh over a frozen river and having fika in the middle of a lake or being awestruck by mountain reflections in a Norwegian fjord. This tour left me wanting for nothing but a bit more time to soak it all in. Highly recommend. If you want to see and photograph Lapland, this is your guy.
Myriam F — Google review
Peter was a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, patient, flexible, creative and friendly are some of the adjectives that come to mind. With a background in science and photography, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge, both basic and esoteric, such that he is able to explain and expound upon the things we saw and experienced in a way that people with all levels of knowledge and sophistication can understand and learn. On our late February/early March trip we saw the Aurora Borealis from several perspectives and came to well understand the variables that influence what the eye and the camera see. We saw many moose, some reindeer, ptarmigan, and even spotted a red fox. Beyond the Aurora, the snowmobiling and dogsledding were highlights (thanks Irina at Outback Abisko and Leah at Kiruna Dogsled!). We enjoyed a visit to the IceHotel where Peter explained the engineering and artistry that go into constructing the hotel every year. During a day's excursion to Norway to take in some of the fjords, we learned about the Sami people, their culture and history. We felt well cared-for at every step and would highly recommend Peter/LapplandMedia to anyone considering a visit to that part of the world.

I've just come back from a 6 day tour with Peter Rosen and it was seriously an awesome trip filled with ticking off many bucket list items. We went dog sledding, reindeer sledding, saw the aurora lights, ice hotel and more! Peter is also very well known in the places we visited and you could tell from the way people treated our group. I'm also into photography and Peter gave our group of six people a camera each and also had some serious lenses and camera bodies in his kit for those that wanted it. Even though I've been into photography for over a decade, I still learnt a lot from Peter who is a professional photographer. But if you're not confident in photography but still interested, he's also a good teacher and very patient. For the photographers out there he had wide lenses for landscape pics and tele-lenses for animals. Overall, I'm really happy with the photos I took on the tour because of Peter's help! He was also a biologist previously, so he's very knowledgable and passionate about the animals and nature. Very educational! We were also introduced to the indigenous Sami people which I knew very little of before but was an enlightening experience hearing their history. The different accomodation we had was also very good and had no problems with it. Also while dog sledding at night, I accidentally forgot to zip my jacket pocket and my phone had fallen out without me noticing until we arrived back at camp around midnight. I was distraught but Peter took me along the path on his ski mobile and we searched much of the night for it. We didn't find my phone in the end but I'm still appreciative of Peter after a long day that he would help me out still. Highly recommend this trip to anyone thinking about it and wish to be more out there with nature. Peter is a great tour guide and we still keep in touch even now we're home.

If you have ever wanted to see the Northern Lights and want the chance to see them in a breath-taking and awe-inspiring place then book with Peter and his team and visit this stunning part of Sweden. Practical things like advice on clothing to bring and what will be provided plus info about camera kit all sorted in advance. Dietary requirements sorted without fuss and food was superb (I asked for a vegan menu). Nothing is too much trouble. Activities are fantastic - dog sledding, reindeer sledding, watching moose in the wild, visiting the Ice Hotel and just being in the landscape. I left part of my heart in Sweden - I expected to be emotional when I saw the aurora but the place touched my soul with its quiet beauty, its lovely and graceful people and winter in all of its glory. I loved it. Can’t wait to go back!

This photography tour with Peter was absolutely amazing. As an amateur I had heaps of help and got some fantastic photos at the most beautiful locations. I can't recommend Peter's tours highly enough. Well worth travelling half way round the world to experience this and I would do it again in a heartbeat. And you will see the northern lights - Peter has had 100% success rate on his tours as he is a local so knows how to chase them. Book up now - you won't regret it. Jackie Australia

A must for wanderlust travellers and aspiring photographers. We had an amazing time with Peter who is such a sincere and modest person. Chasing the aurora can be challenging, but finding the best spots for a beautiful composition is what makes this tour special and unique. Be aware that this is a photography oriented tour. Our goal was to learn a bit more about shooting at night and Peter, who is a knowledgeable photographer, took every bit of time to show us some tips & tricks in post processing. Apart from that Peter went out of his way to accommodate all of his guests wishes, as there were some with a lesser interest in photography and more for massages and spa's. Even then Peter managed to organise a full packed itinerary and keep everyone happy. Biggest highlight for us was being out with the dogs all morning and even a full evening. Some of our best photos were with the sled dogs in the composition. Things feel more authentic and less touristy when your enjoying hot tea in a tipi with a fireplace. We left with great experiences and new friends and would recommend this tour to our family and friends. Thanks again Peter!

Peter was a gun from the very beginning. We spent 6 days together on a private tour with the family. Peter was so personable and patient. He was very flexible and passionate about what he does - and it definitely showed! We were generously provided with professional cameras and lots of cool lenses to use on our daily activities. Even if there wasn't an aurora to chase that night, there was always something else to do. My highlight would have been the private dog-sledding tours that we did during the day and again at night. So unique and priceless! Having Peter lead us around these 6 days, you could really see the rapport and support he had from the local community and businesses - they all knew who he was and would treat us well because of him! Peter was always patient in explaining how to use the camera, and also the theories behind the auroras. So knowledgeable! I have learned so much and done so many things that I would never have done if it weren't for this tour! Unforgettable and priceless experience. Thank you Peter!!
Bianca W — Google review
I highly recommend Peter of Lappland Media and appreciated all his efforts in helping myself and my family have an unforgettable holiday. In fact, I have already started recommending Peter by word of mouth back home and I share the same to you as well if you are currently reading this and considering taking one of his tours! Prior to joining Peter's tour, I had no photography experience and am generally a slow moving traveller. I had never imagined seeing any auroras or being able to travel to such a northern part of the world (as I usually don't adapt well to cold climates coming from the Southern Hemisphere). Peter really accommodated for me personally and made this tour an adventure I will never forget. One of the best characteristics of having Peter as a tour guide is his attention to detail. Aside from his incredible skills as a photographer and his vast wealth of knowledge in almost everything related to the things/activities you see and do, he was so accommodating in all the little things throughout the tour. Examples of this include: the cold weather clothing and gear he provided (which saved me from catching a cold!), the quality of accommodation and food vendors he partners with, the drinks he offers, casual conversations over meals, even down to sourcing a hairdryer for us at one of the accommodation spots. Peter is also very adaptable and patient. He attempts to accommodate for every member in his tour group, regardless of your travel style and/or interests. I appreciated the fact that Peter was very patient with me when I would ask him the same basic photography related question at least 5 times. He would also offer other activities that were not included in the regular program to accommodate for individual interests. Something that surprised me was that I enjoyed using the telephoto lens and taking photos of moose. I also thoroughly enjoyed reindeer and dog sledding, as well as the conversations I would have with the locals in the lavvus at various stops in the tour. Ultimately, we were able to see an Aurora on more than one occasion and that was pretty amazing. Every few hours each day, I observed Peter keeping an eye on the relevant data to ensure he would be able to help our group catch the best Aurora that night. He would always have all his photography equipment ready to go and a few hot drinks on the side. He was always many steps ahead and ready to chase the Aurora. Thankyou Peter for a once in a lifetime great experience!

10/10 morning hike at Abisko national park with Lights over Lapland guide Felix! Easy for leisure hikers like me, yet bringing you to amazing viewpoints along the hiking trail. What an unforgettable experience in Abisko with Lights over Lapland! We joined the 4-night Autumn Abisko Aurora Chase and were impressed from the very start. Despite gloomy skies on our first night, the guides’ dedication was remarkable. We drove nearly an hour east and checked multiple spots to find clear skies. It truly reassured us how committed they were to helping everyone see the northern lights. After that, we had 3 amazing nights with different Aurora shows. A huge thank-you to Sara, who went above and beyond: scouting the best viewing spots, helping with camera setups, keeping us warm, and ensuring we enjoyed every moment. Thanks to her, we witnessed a breathtaking Aurora Corona dancing overhead for over 30 minutes, a moment we’ll never forget (staying out well past the end of the tour!). We also loved the morning hike to Lake Torneträsk and the delta with Felix, a 2-hour walk surrounded by breathtaking autumn views. It was both relaxing and enriching. Overall, Lights over Lapland made this an exceptional experience. You might think you can chase the lights on your own, but having expert guides who understand the terrain, weather, and microclimates makes all the difference. Truly the best decision of our trip - highly recommended!

What an absolutely amazing experience! Lights Over Lapland put together a tour package that was incredible. Four nights at the Abisko STF, winter coveralls, cameras, tripods, a guided hike in the Abisko National Park, and a guided chase of Northern Lights each night. Luckily we caught them in all their glory 2 nights and partially 1 night. Our communication with Jeanette and Rachel before and during our trip was excellent. They answered all of our questions promptly and I had many. Our nightly guide, Felix, was so knowledgeable and personable. We really enjoyed his company. Gavin, who led another group, was happy to help with our camera equipment and answer any questions. Sara, a laid back world traveler, took us on a very memorable hike. Her passion for the outdoors was evident. We thank you all for making this bucket list trip one we will always remember fondly.

Felix was our Northern Lights guide — professional, friendly, and passionate. He patiently helped us set up our cameras and shared fascinating knowledge about the aurora. On the last day, it rained in Abisko, but he drove us away from the clouds in search of clear skies. Amazing stay, based at the Tourist Station in the Abisko National Park. Brilliant service by Lights over Lapland with all enquiries, prior and post booking, answered promptly & efficiently by email and use of the app. Info about what to bring, activities & travel arrangements was exceedingly helpful. Wonderful morning hike from the Tourist Station, led by Felix, who shared lots of info about the wildlife, nature, landscape and seasons at Abisko. The highlight for me was being at the river delta with the sunshine bringing out amazing Autumn colours, and walking across the river to the waters edge of the lake. For 4 nights of the Abisko Autumn Aurora Chase, we were EXCEEDINGLY well looked after by Sara, with prebooked cameras, tripods, backpacks, headtorches & overalls all provided with fabulous instruction & constant support while out at night, and her knowledge of local locations resulted in seeing the aurora AND getting great pics for 3 out of 4 nights. Couldn't fault anything!! Thanks to Sara, Felix and all at Lights Over Lapland who worked so hard for us <3

We enjoyed our Abisko National Park Scenic Morning Hike with our wonderful guide Gavin so much so that we decided to book the Autumn Abisko Aurora Chase the same night to continue exploring what Abisko has to offer with Gavin and the LoL team and guests! It was a really beautiful and educational hike, and Gavin was really lovely, knowledgeable, kind and patient throughout. Having a photography background, Gavin was also able to bring us to great spots for beautiful photos! We also even tried out walking on a frozen part of the lake! The Northern Lights chase at night was exciting and we’re so glad we managed to catch the northern lights (our first time ever!) with the expertise, strategic planning, and patience of Gavin and Miquel (and with a bit of luck given the weather). We also enjoyed some snacks and warm lingonberry juice over fire to end the magical night. Thanks Gavin, Miquel and the team at LoL for such magical experience!

The Autumn Abisko Aurora Chase was a fantastic experience! A big shoutout to our guide Sara Brockmann. She was amazing. Super friendly, and very knowledgeable about history, lifestyle and nature of the region. She helped us with camera settings to make sure we got those stunning photos of the northern lights, which was awesome. We saw the lights at the first try right on the shore of Torneträsk lake, surrounded by incredible scenery. After the chase, we all sat around a cozy fire, and she brought out gingerbread cookies and hot lingonberry juice, perfect after a cold night! On our way back to Abisko, we stopped for one last peek at the sky from the Abisko Turiststation a truly magical view. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun, a marvelous experience with an awesome guide!

We had an amazing time joining the Lights over Lapland AB autumn aurora-chasing tour. In particular, our guide Sara Brockmann was truly responsible and trustworthy. She led us to a perfect lakeside spot where we witnessed multiple displays of the northern lights. Even more special, I proposed to my girlfriend there. Sara thoughtfully took photos for us — and, of course, she took great photos for everyone, not just us. She also prepared a cozy campfire, warm lingonberry juice, and gingerbread cookies to keep us warm. All in all, thanks to Sara’s help, we had an absolutely wonderful night. Finally, we wish everyone traveling to Abisko to see the aurora good weather and clear skies!

The park boasts well-equipped mountain huts and beautifully planned trails for visitors to explore. This is actually more than five stars. You should go there in summer. Otherwise there is only snow to see. In summer it's such a paradise. If you're living in Sweden add this to your bucket list. The road view is fantastic and extremely beautiful. I give five Stars to Abisko waterfall too. Here I have attached some photos for you. You have to take a hike there. Be ready for it. If I saw something ugly, it was big annoying mosquitos all around me asking me to feed them. If I didn't hold tight, sure they take me with them 🤣.

We didn't know about this place and stopped here by an accident – we say a river with a mighty stream. We took a walk along the canyon and discovered the trails, and another waterfall. The place is very picturesque on a sunny day, the water is cristal blue and we were lucky to see it in its full.
