Cristo Del Pacífico

Mentioned on
2 lists
Sculpture
Cristo del Pacífico, towering at an impressive 37 meters (121 feet), stands proudly in Lima, Peru. Erected in 2011 as a gift from Brazilian companies to mark the departure of former President Alan Garcia, this statue draws inspiration from Rio de Janeiro's iconic Christ the Redeemer. While it offers stunning views of the coastline and nearby neighborhoods like Chorrillos, visitors have noted that the site is somewhat neglected.
Super cool location but don't walk down the road, there are dogs that will attack. I had to fight.

Nice view point to see the lima city. If possible, I wanna visit to see the night view of lima.
Daniel S — Google review
The road is very rough and poorly maintained. No proper arrangements present there. Hot and dusty
S K — Google review
Good view of the city and ocean. The area is a bit run down and there isn't much there. There does seem to be a lot of mountain biking trails around that I'd love to try.
Eric T — Google review
It is a good place to oversee Lima. And that is about that. I am not blaming Peruvian about leaving the entire area desert-ish consider Lima is in a desert. But unless you are into mountain bike, there is really nothing else around. The good thing is it is not too far from the main area. So a quick stopping by is still not a bad idea.
燃烧的饺子 — Google review
The government should beautify the place as it has a lot of potential. It's just the statue and around it barren desert. During cloudy/overcast days, it does look quite ugly. The government should put some more in the area to make it more lively as it is really popular for people who want to bike up the hill. Went here on a Lima bike tour.
Daryl K — Google review
If you want a great view from the city, that´s the place to go! The statue of the Christ is nothing out of this world, but the views a great.

Brad B — Google review
Such a cool place!! Really loved seeing the different birds. Manuel was so nice, could speak perfect english and went out of his way to give me and some other tourists a boat tour through the wetlands:) definitely recommend!
Flo A — Google review
Wonderful refuge in Lima. Make reservations ahead of time. I highly recommend you hire a guide and take the boat. Bilingual guides are available. Fantastic birds. Wonderful staff. (I wish it had a fence to keep the stray dogs out)
Tanya B — Google review
Great spot with diverse environs, swamp and ocean. Wonderfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic team. We were lucky to work with Lily. We saw the Peruvian thick-knee among others.
D B — Google review
One amazing place, sea of tranquility in a busy city. It's a protected marshes. The guides and stuff made of mainly student. You can observe native and migratory birds. There are 2 parts to it and to see it well will take 2 hrs of walk through the reeds. It take about 20 min from Miraflores to the Pantanos in Chirillios.
Earthbound A — Google review
It has lagoons and read beds which the visitor can walk around. Pantano's de Villa is a good place, with a huge variety of birds along the coast. The area consists of a few trails that wind around lagoons and some viewing platforms. It's a great reflective place to enjoy nature and do some birdwatching.
Donnalyn A — Google review
A very special refuge in the heart of a mega city. Pantanoes de Villa is an incredible place to come and see migratory birds and to study humanities encroachment on wild spaces. The signage and info could be more thorough, but the staff do their best to educate and protect this very delicate ecosystem! Relaxing, quiet and reflective. Note: some parts would be very difficult to navigate in a wheelchair
Dale P — Google review
The government has made some effort to protect this important natural area, but it is surrounded by many buildings and roads. This obviously degrades the quality of the preserve and makes it difficult to access. Nonetheless, birds and wildlife do live here and enjoy a semblance of their natural world.

Amazing, great and very knowledgeable Distillery Master. Great tasting and impeccable facilities
Santiago A — Google review
Went on a Wednesday, mid day..it was winter so... can't really blame them for not being fully open. We could buy a bottle but they wouldn't give us a sample, too bad thier sample glasses and the respective bottles were right there on the bar. Poor hospitality in my opinion. But hey! Maybe on a different day in a better time of year with a more motivated employee you'll have a better experience. Go try... beautiful grounds if nothing else.
Ben M — Google review
Absolutely amazing pisco, and there location is beautifully. The tasting tour was very informative. Lunch and drinks were great. Highly recommend a visit evan with the drive time to get there.
Chilli R — Google review
The whole package right here with a unique Peruvian cultural experience. I traveled here with family connections. I wouldn’t have found it because it is an off the beaten path location. Had a great tour about pisco. Beautiful scenery with a great restaurant. The ceviche and lomo saltado were the best I have had in Perú. What a great surprise!! And the cocktails along with the setting were amazing.

Beautiful artesanal winery where they can give you a thorough tour that includes wine tasting
Tsailanza R — Google review
Visiting last year, the wine they gave me to taste was good, but the three bottles they sold me were terrible, completely fermented with bubbles. It was not supposed to be vinegar champagne. Stay away!
First — Google review
Nice little genuine historic winery
Sam S — Google review
I'll temper this saying we're pretty knowledgeable about wine, but this was definitely quite an interesting presentation of artesanal wine making. The use of clay amforae and the crushing of grapes (yes with feet) was kind of fun. The wine is not good (read bad) as it's syrupy and too sweet. Also the Pisco is not the greatest quality (straight hangover material, so watch out). Also ask about the honey production center nearby, well worth the visit!

Fantastic experience! Took a boat and circled the island. Many birds and sea lions and I think I saw one penguin.
Silvia X — Google review
The islands are worth the trip on a touristy boat with strangers. If you love birds, penguins, and sea lions it's worth the trip. If you don't love these you probably shouldn't go as there isn't anything else like a cool boat ride or whatever to make it worthwhile.
J E — Google review
Beautiful, only downside No enough sea lions and zero penguins 🐧
Rayan A — Google review
A good tour and activity. We had to weirdly wait 40 mins for one person for our boat to complete its occupancy. When departed, it took 20 something minutes to reach the islands. Take a coat please, the breeze is extremely cold. On the islands itself, if you have never seen penguins and sea lions, it is a great experience. Interesting story around the bird poo as well.

Candelabro de Paracas (Candelabra of Paracas)

Mentioned on
1 list
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Candelabro de Paracas, also known as the Candelabra Geoglyph, is a massive ancient figure etched into the sand on Isla Ballestas in Peru. Believed to date back to around 200 BCE, its origins are shrouded in mystery and myth. This 150m high and 50m wide geoglyph resembles a cactus plant or tree and has remained remarkably intact over the centuries.
The Holland America Oosterdam stopped for a good long time so anyone who wanted to take photos could take them. The captain pointed the stern towards the candelabra and hung around there for almost an hour. They candelabra is absolutely gorgeous! It is so tall and so visible from far away.
Helen E — Google review
We saw the impressive picture during our boat tour to Ballestas Island. There seems no way to reach here by land. The symbol is similar to Nasca lines but the guide said they are not related.
Yung-chin C — Google review
A great boat ride! The Candelabra was outstanding, as were the islands! We got to see penguins and many other bird species! We loved it! It was a highlight of our time in Peru!
Mark M — Google review
Mysterious. Anyone who takes a boat trip to the Islas Ballestas will also pass one of the most mysterious sites on the Peruvian coast: the Candelabro de Paracas. This 180-meter geoglyph on the Paracas Peninsula is only visible from the sea (up to a distance of about 20 km!). The geoglyph, dug 60 cm deep in the salt-solidified sand, may be clearly visible, but the who, when and why remains a mystery. The famous German-Peruvian archaeologist Maria Reiche has done extensive research on the Candelabro and has found pottery that has been dated to 200 BCE and can thus be linked to the Paracas culture. The geoglyph is aligned to the south and therefore connected to the Southern Cross, the constellation that was used by many sailors to navigate. Whoever created the Candelabro, it is a cool and impressive geoglyph!
Koen — Google review
In order to see it, you go to Paracas and take the ferry. It’s not expensive, but may be a crowd and could be a good hour wait. On the ferry, there will be a guide, presenting native birds and animals - you will see some penguins somewhere far away, on the rocks, too. “ Candelabro” it’s like a giant drawing on the side of a mountain, like 2000 years old. Expect the ferry to be on the water for a good hour and a half. Nice views of the shore.
Adrian I — Google review
Dear everyone who comes here to review.. Just a small info .. You can find description of this in indian history of " valmiki ramayan" . Do a simple Google search and read about it and get awestruck . Thank you !
Hemasagar G — Google review
We went there by a 17 hour tour from Lima. The signs were really strange. I thought it was only sand but actually it was made on the rocks then the sand covered it.
Caglar H — Google review
Magnificent! The only way to experience this sight is by boat so you will need to find yourself a boat tour; check with the hotel you’re staying at as they can help you find a tour. Its amazing to see this “monument” and realize how long it’s been here.

Reserva Nacional de Paracas

National reserve

National park where Pacific Ocean currents hit the desert of the South American mainland.
I think this is the proper time to tell how beautiful this place is but also to be worried about the impact is been through beacuse of the private industry. I’m an artist and I will fight for the rights of the reserve.
Harold M — Google review
The reserve is beautiful. The process of purchasing tickets and boarding the boat for travel is confusing. Thankfully the tour guide was able to the information in both English and Spanish. Visitors should be prepared for about a 15 minute boat ride through open water which can be windy, wet and cold.
Joelle M — Google review
Such a raw, beautiful place. Explored the reserve by bike and spotted condors and so many sea birds. Love the La Mina beach to take an ocean dip and enjoy the afternoon in the last part of the bike route!
Scarlett C — Google review
Absolute must see when in Paracas and should be on the Peru's must see lists. Beautiful views on every view point. Easily accessible on a day trip by bicycle, scooter or car. Just skip the Lagunillas restaurants, they are mostly tourists traps and you can eat much better food for the same price in Paracas.
Tomek B — Google review
La mina is such beautiful beach!! The water is light blue and clean. The water is cold but so worth it! They have a snack shop upstairs and bathrooms. Would definitely recommend this beach to anyone who wants to be around natures beauty and a friendly crowd

Beautiful beach against a huge rock wall that is located 30 kilometers from the Panamericana Sur within the Paracas National Reserve. Crowdy if you go during holidays, otherwise is peaceful and enjoyable. Beautiful azure water. if you don't have your own car you have to hire a tour. I recommend going by car so you can manage your own time and enjoy the trip at your own pace

✨This place is just amazing...I am at a complete loss for words at the pure beauty of this place. Also a word of advice, take a picture of the map in the entrance and you can find your way easier. There are some places that literally have no cell service (it's part of a true nature experience right) 😁 ✨If you have the extra time, do visit here. Of course, since the part that made it look like a cathedral broke in 2007 but you can still see the cliffs and the animals around. It's so peaceful and the breeze is so great! Even as you look around all the different mountains have different colored sand over them. I haven't ever seen anything like it in my life! You look around and it's like waking up in a dream...it all looks like a huge painting and it's hard to believe it's real! Also the staff around were very nice and courteous, only problem we had was the entrance fee they take only soles, plus they do not accept cards. (We were scrambling for change in our car lol) Any of the bathrooms we visited were all clean and well stocked. Overall, I absolutely LOVED this experience!! I want to go back so badly!

Part of our tour - a pyramid/ "cathedral" shaped rock in the sea, near the coast. Unusual and beautiful. Views of the yellow sea- cliffs make for good photos too.

Lovely place. Other worldly in appearance in the desert. From the high places you can see both bays. Food in the fishing village is amazing... The sea tour from the Hacienda Hotel was well worth getting up early.

If you haven’t been to the moon yet, this might be very close! Epic sceneries where you could stage your version of mad max 👍 don’t rent a bike cause will eat dust all day long and the hills are steep and the temperature is killing! There are some restaurants in the park and the deliver great food...

La cattedrale itself isn't very stunning in my opinion, but the view of the coastline is quite something. Rent a taxi and tell the driver to bring you to the scenic spots, it's quite cheap and you can move at your own pace. Expect to be done in 2-3 hours.

It may simply be land, water and air, however, the vastness makes you feel insignificant. Interesting place to visit. I would have wanted to spend more time here. Travelled with Peru Hop. Apparently this area plays a significant role in stabilising the ecosystem. The area is also rich in lithium. Well done to the government for protecting it.
Shame N — Google review
Caught by surprise by how beautiful this reserve is! Went by taxi from Huacachina in the afternoon instead of with the tours in the morning and it was a good decision. Less people and beautiful sunset.
Phuong D — Google review
Lots of birds and interesting landscapes, worth a visit. We did a bus tour for 25 soles. There's restaurants that serve fresh fish but it's more expensive than the town. The red beach is interesting. Unfortunately you can't get close enough to the flamingos for s decent photo but I suppose it is a nature reserve.

Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Tambo Colorado is an impressive Inca archaeological site located inland from the coastal marine park, easily accessible from the town of Pisco. The well-preserved adobe buildings and museum with historical exhibits offer a fascinating glimpse into ancient Incan culture. Visitors can explore the extensive ruins and admire original Incan paint on the walls. The site also provides a great view of the valley. Although local information may be limited, guided tours offer informative insights into the history of this iconic destination.
This was an awesome trip from Paracas with local transport. In Tambo Colorado we met the local staff who was very knowledgeable, ready to explain everything about the Inca culture and answer all our questions. She was very nice and we enjoyed her proffesional approach. The site is well marked with information signs and worth to visit.

Spectacular tour. Overwhelmed by the abilities of these ancient people. I'm sure the climate wasn't as harsh as it is now, but if it was, how did they survive the heat, lack of plantable soil and remoteness.
Red D — Google review
Fascinating archaeological site! The Inca Tambo Colorado ruins are very well preserved and give a great glimpse into Inca architecture and history in the coastal desert. The colors of the walls and the structure are impressive — definitely worth a visit if you love history and culture.

For the small entry cost (5 soles) this was an amazing place to visit and see the well preserved incan ruins. Guide Alex Arenas was very knowledgeable and did a great job of making the past come back to life for us!

Amazing ruins that no one seems to know about. This is a good thing because you have full access to all the areas. You can still see some of the original Incan paint on the walls.

El Catador, a popular dining spot in Ica, Peru, is a must-visit for those touring the area. The restaurant offers prompt and attentive service, making it ideal for large groups. The diverse menu features dishes like Chicharron de Cerdo and Fettucine with Lomo Saltado that are both delicious and well-presented. In addition to the food, El Catador also boasts an extensive selection of tasty wines for visitors to sample.
El Viejo Catador was great throughout the whole experience. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly. It had great presentation and everything tasted delicious. The restaurant had beautiful decor and it was super clean. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are touring through Ica. You won't be disappointed!
Yazen F — Google review
Very interesting place to visit in Peru. A wide selection of tasty vines and a good way of tasting them. The prices of dishes in the restaurant are a bit too high for what you get. The taste is okey. The place, if busy, that is most of the time, can be a little noisy and the service in the restaurant doesn't seem to manage it all well.
Stenkustenku — Google review
Cool pisco sour distillery. I wish they gave more samples however. The pisco tasting wad super cheaply done. Not the same experience as wine tasting so I don't recommend it
Mo S — Google review
I'm not sure the name of this restaurant is still the same. But, this is where we stopped during our excursion. When we got here, the place was empty. However, soon after we were seated, the restaurant quickly filled up. I'm guessing this is where all excursions met for food and wine tasting. The service was prompt, especially for our party consisting of 13, very diverse people. We all placed our orders and had our food soon after. We had the Chicharron de Cerdo, Chicharron de Pollo, and the Fettucine with Lomo Saltado. All dishes came with salsa criollo, ricotto. Along with some French fries. The food was good and simply prepared, letting the product speak for itself. For me, the star of the meal was the Chicharron de Pollo! Each bite had so much flavor. The atmosphere was pretty laid back, even though it got pretty busy. The wine tasting consisted of 4 wines and 2 or 3 pisco varieties. Everything was pretty tasty. Be advised that using the restroom here is different than in the United States. For one, there are no paper seat covers for your convenience. Also, toilet paper is not available inside of the stalls. The toilet paper is actually outside of the stall, and you have to get as much as you will need. Additionally, do not flush any paper down the toilet.
Matthew P — Google review
Free tour with Peru Hop. Interesting to know the difference between worldwide wine producers. We had free wine and pisco tasting as well, no hard selling from staff, we bought 2 bottles as these were excellent value. No credit card charges from merchant.
Shame N — Google review
Just outside of Ica, Peru, you can find an authentic distillery for Pisco, a national Peruvian favorite. The tour is an excellent introduction into the production of this wine. The distillation process is explained and after the tour we were all treated to samples of Pisco products, including some made with locally grown fruits. We bought 3 bottles! Please be aware that several months later the fruity varieties have separated and will not re-mix. Hence, took off a star.
Jim M — Google review
Went here as part of our peru hop stop and loved the little lady who took us on the tour around the place and gave us some samplings of their products. Very informative and tasty! Make sure to try their ice creams!
Leena S — Google review
We stopped here with Peru hop. Often at stops like this you feel guilt tripped into buying, but El Catador was awesome. They give you so many testers so you can try before you buy or try simply for the experience. They gave us a short but sweet tour of how they make their Pisco and wine which was really interesting, our guide was amazing, super funny and informative. A good place to stop over and stretch your legs.

The Arenas Sandboarding and dune buggy tour in Huacachina is a thrilling adventure that takes travelers on a ride through the mesmerizing desert dunes in dune buggies, providing an adrenaline-pumping experience as they soar over the sandy terrain. Additionally, visitors have the option to pair this tour with sandboarding down the steep slopes of the dunes for an added rush. The excursion also offers the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunset over the picturesque landscape.
What a surreal place to find a lake in the mist of a desert! This place is gorgeous and full of adventures. So much fun! It was exhilarating boarding down the sand dunes and blasting through the area hills in the atv. While in ATV, hand tight and buckle up because you will be bounced around!

Huacachina Oasis is a stunning natural wonder with a picturesque lagoon surrounded by tropical palms and warm weather. The area boasts beautiful dunes, offering adventure seekers the perfect setting for thrilling activities. Visitors can witness breathtaking sunsets over the mesmerizing desert, creating an unforgettable experience. The small town around the oasis provides a charming backdrop for leisurely walks and boat rides on the lagoon. With its growing popularity on social media, more tourists are drawn to this mysterious oasis to capture its beauty.
One of the most unique places I've ever been (in over 30 countries). It's shocking how high the dunes surrounding it are. We visited during the slow time of the week in the slow part of the year but it was still a lot of fun to walk around the town and go on a dune buggy ride at sunset with a stop to sand board. Only downside is the food largely caters to tourists and isn't that great on the whole, but there's a few better options out there. It's very with the visit!

On Sunday it was crowded but with many restaurants and a very pleasant temperature in the shade around the lake it was a nice place to be. Don't miss taking a dune buggy ride - the drivers are skilled, safety conscious and will accommodate those looking for a more sedate ride. The dunes are magical.

The only oasis above the desert in Peru.🏜️ It was a truly exciting day.🙆‍♂️ We drove a 4x4 buggy over the sand dunes.🏎️ We got our adrenaline pumping.😁 I felt like I was on a roller coaster as we went up and down dunes up to 30 meters high.🤷‍♂️ We stopped to enjoy the incredible views of the sunset and take another picture.📸

Magical desert oasis! An incredible place surrounded by golden dunes, where you can relax by the lagoon, enjoy sandboarding, or take a buggy tour to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. The atmosphere is lively, with many restaurants and bars around. Definitely one of the most unique and beautiful spots in Peru!

This was such a fun experience! This was my first time sand boarding and I had the time of my life!!! It was money well spent. I booked it for an hour and that was enough for me, I couldn't imagine being up there for longer and not having a bathroom. I had to pee so bad, I'm surprised that I didn't pee on myself during that hour especially during the buggy rides.

Spacious & picturesque hacienda producing wine & offering free tours & tastings.
Viña Tacama is like a dream. We have been there 3 times, the third being for our wedding. This place is absolutely magical. The food is to die for, the wine delicious. We had their wine and food at our wedding and the guests loved it. They also have horses and do horse shows with dancers. The venue is perfect whether for a visit to the restaurant, a wine tour or for your special day :)

Beautiful and large winery! Drive in was a little sketchy on a tiny dirt road, all of the sudden you get to a big gate for the winery complex. We took the 1 hour tour, would’ve loved to do the full tour but they said they don’t have any English speaking guide for that, which is unfortunate, they should’ve specified this on their website. The complex and tour was nice, however the tour guide wasn’t very passionate at all.
Maria R — Google review
I visited Tacama Winery with my parents and we had a very pleasant experience. The wine tasting with their sommelier was excellent with a good variety of wines which were all very good. The sommelier was friendly and explained a lot about the different types of wines and the tasting process in general. The stay in their restaurant was great aswell, with good food and good service. Also the tour around the winery itself, the guide and another small tasting were very enjoyable experiences and I personally learned a lot about wine making, the assortments of grapes and the history of Tacama Winery. Overall the personal is very well organised, the place is beautiful and the service is excellent. Of course their wines are just as good. Thanks for the amazing time

I had the best red wine I’ve had in my life here- el gran tinto. The causas were literally *chefs kiss*. There are different types of tours, and the traditional takes you through the wine making process as well as 3 cups of wine and one of pisco.

Amazing experience! We celebrated the 30th birthday of one of us here during our stay in Perù. Not only the food was amazing, but the wine as well (both the White and Red wines were superb, comparable in taste and uniqueness to our Italians wines). We also received an unexpected present for the birthday! We would like to thank especially Raphael who was super expert in explaining all the different wines and food and made us appreciate 100% the lunch. We really would like to buy wines online to Italy from this winery.
Lorenzo P — Google review
Beautiful winery. The food was overly abundant and excellent. Ordering a bottle of wine with dinner came with custom explanation of aeration and decanting. The tour was insightful but wished the choice of wines for tasting ranged better across the dry to sweets.
Andrea M — Google review
A very nice experience of some wine tasting and learning about the wine making. Our guide wasn't the most passionate and could have been more engaging. The wine wasn't to my liking, but each to their own! Come here for a lovely day out and I hope you find a wine that takes your breathe away!

Cañón de los Perdidos, I don’t know exactly how tours work. I went with my wife’s cousin who is native to the area. Many other places I visited with him.

Very impressive place, totally worth it! We went with our own car and were able to park very close, so the hike was only about 15 minutes to reach the canyon. The landscape is absolutely stunning and unique — a hidden natural wonder in the desert. Definitely recommend visiting if you’re nearby!
Adrian H — Google review
Went there on a tour. We spent more time in a car than actual canoyn itself. The journey was so long and uncomfortable. Canyon was nice to see but a bit underwhelming. It was relatively small, unlike those in the US. Only 30 mins walk in canyon each way. Not sure if it is worth the full day.
Ai A — Google review
This place is still "untouched" by mass tourism, no food/other services nearby. Absolutely spectacular views from the top and the walk at the bottom of the canyon offers a nice hiking experience as well.
Niko S — Google review
A long journey from Ica just for that 'instagram' shot. The journey is quite unenjoyable, especially on an uncomfortable tour bus. There is literally nothing and no-one for miles. Although I was a little underwhelmed at first, I did enjoy walking through the canyon. Perhaps if I hadn't just experienced the amazing scenery/history of Cusco, I would have appreciated it a bit more.
C E — Google review
Nice place with spectacular view from the top. Also there is a short way inside canyon which is pretty beautiful.
Yevhenii B — Google review
Visiting this place was a true adventure. Our guide told us that the place only really opened up for tourism 2018 and you can truly notice it. The 2 hour ride straight into the desert made it feel like you were exploring something new. The canyon is located far away from civilization and the emptiness is truly calming. There are many fossils that you see from birds and insects and our guide also told us that in the same area they have found a "megladon tooth" if it's true i don't know but still very cool! You should absolutely visit this place, a true adventure.

Inspiring. Well preserved museum, but I guess it’s need to be changed the way the museum it’s preserving the bedroom / office. It will rot in a few years if they don’t. Maintenance of Services need to be improved urgently. It’s disgusting and disrespectful that a place that honors the life and commitment of Dr. Reiche with Peruvian culture, isn’t clean at all. It’s not about budget, there are plenty of people visiting.

Despite being smaller than I had hoped, the mummy exhibit was still an interesting experience. The price of only S/8 made it a worthwhile visit.

Entry fee of s. 5 for adults, s. 2.5 for kids, about 3/4 indoors, 1/4 outdoors. Desert environment so if you want to spend time in the outdoor part come early or late and bring a hat.

Great little stop to see 3 of the Nazca lines. Not busy at all, went during the late afternoon with our tour group. Tower is built very well. Wonderful 360 view. Definitely worth the stop.

It's an observation deck that looks out across some of the nascar lines. It's a very solid construction. There are toilets here and a few vendors.
Alain M — Google review
A perfect pit stop if you’re rolling through on the PeruHop bus—quick, free, and actually worth it. You climb up, snap some photos, marvel at the ancient lines etched into the desert, and you’re back on the road before your legs even start to ache. No overpriced tickets, no tourist gimmicks—just pure, unfiltered history. Easy peasy.
Rich P — Google review
In my opinion: it's more interesting to hear and read about the lines than visiting them in person. If you really want to have a look at them - book the flight, from the tower it is not spectacular at all.
Jérôme — Google review
Nice stop off on the way seeing some of the lines up close. I'm shocked they built a road over the one of the Nazca Lines and didn't realise its significance. No fee. Has facilities 🚻 Also a little tourist shop.

Nice view, you can see 3 of the Nazca line figures
G. B — Google review
Nazca lines their selves are very interesting sight, but as for this lookout... Yes, there are 2 towers for view. But you won't see there much, unfortunately. To see Nazca lines you have to be MUCH higher, than these towers. Drone flights are prohibited there (had to land my one after security notice) and don't allow you to see all terraglifes if you don't know the exact place. That's why I believe the real way to enjoy Nazca lines is excursion with a plane only.

The Nazca Desert is home to numerous geoglyphs, which are ancient and mysterious in origin. These massive lines were ingeniously carved by the Nazca people several centuries ago, forming various shapes such as animals, birds, pagan gods, and even an astronaut that can only be seen from high above in an aircraft. The Candelabra Geoglyph on Isla Ballestas is another similar attraction with a height of 150 meters and width of 50 meters.
The most awesome, weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life. Why did they draw the lines? How it was discovered... Make sure that you absolutely follow the instructions of the staff when doing the fly over, otherwise you will puke and be sick, guaranteed. Enjoy ) ah, and there are some cute shops nearby for souvenirs. Funny "google translate" signs around ) the flights are heavily dependent on the winds/weather, you might end up waiting a lot
Stefan P — Google review
It's a 7-hour drive from Lima to Nazca and even longer by bus. Nice views from the airplane to see the lines below, but pictures will not come out on phone camera. In other words, you have to be there to appreciate as you won't be able to share the details with others through pix. In addition to the flight fare, there are also local taxes you must pay.
Zisis B — Google review
We took a flight with AeroNazca and was very impressed. We got picked up from our hostel and dropped back after the flight. We were advised to take an early flight as the weather is generally worst/windy in the afternoon and this was good advice as the wind did indeed pick up in the afternoon..
Robbie T — Google review
Loved seeing this! We did not take the plane to get a view of all of the lines, however we felt that the view from the observation tower gave a fantastic idea and impression of the sheet size of the lines. Perfect!
Claudia A — Google review
First, i am impressed with how the lines were made. Next, do watch the video at the airport while you wait (and you will have to wait). Third, be very prepared for a bumpy ride. I do not get air or seasick but this made me feel a little queasy. If you have a UV and polarised filter for your camera lenses, do consider using them. Once the sun is high and strong enough, the pictures do not come out well.

To get the best experience you probably need a guide who can explain about the design and purpose etc. if you just visit this on your own without any prior knowledge you will not really take in much apart from a few semi restored walls as there are no written instructions to indicate what you are looking at. There are toilets nearby but no shade. You can't go inside the grounds for the most part.

The guide made this place interesting with all insights and stories. It’ll take probably 30 min on-site plus time to get there from Nazca. If you have some spare time, you’ll be happy to visit it and learn about Cahuachi!

The grandfather caretaker is a very humble, kind, old man. Spend some time talking to him. He is devoting the last years of his life to protecting this place. A wonderful powerful site in the middle of nowhere.

We didn’t have much information about the side but our host recommended it. We drove with our own car and had a bit of a difficulty because google maps wanted to take us a road that was closed but with a bypass we made it. It’s easier to take the second entrance when you come from Nazcas. It’s a bit longer but the road is better. The side is really impressive and will give you and additional view about the Nazcas culture.

Amazing history at this place. Very interesting how the time of flourishing and greatest prosperity was 100ad to 300ad and then destruction cataclysmically around 400ad. Fascinating correlation with the history and timeframes documented in the Book of Mormon. Very large pyramids partially restored. Long dirt road to get there

Well worth the visit. I found it peaceful, calm, not too many people... almost a private feeling and peaceful. Very photogenic I found. Scenic. Well preserved. Gives more appreciation for Nazca.
