Praia do Tenório is a well-equipped beach in the northern coast of Sao Paulo, attracting tourists year-round with its excellent infrastructure and natural beauty. Despite its small size, it's popular among families seeking a great spot for swimming and offering everything visitors need. Nestled in a paradise bay just south of Praia Vermelha, this beach boasts stunning coast mountains, powdery sands, and gentle waves perfect for swimming due to protection from the western headland.
This place is amazing and you must include in your list if you are visiting Ubatuba. Caiçara Bar on the beach is very nice too. Prices are okay and the service as well. Friendly staffs and good portions. I highly recommend Célio Açaí, he is an independent seller walking around and sometimes staying nearby Caiçara bar. He is lovely, very polite and really cares about his potential customers. I highly recommend you to go early as it is has small car parking and tend to be busy. The cost for the parking is 20 reais(2,80€). I hope you visit this place, let me know how was your experience if you do.
Gabriel P — Google review
Very good beach, with calm waves, but depending on the time it can get very crowded, but with an incredible view
Luis S — Google review
If you like crazy busy beaches, you will love this one. Lots to do. Many decent baracas, many restaurants. Small waves. Good for families with young kids. If you don't Luke busy beaches, stay away! Parking is an absolute nightmare. It took us an hour to drive 20km because the road was so busy
Jurie P — Google review
Beautiful beach and clean ocean. Friendly vendors selling an assortment of beachwear .
Wendy L — Google review
It gets very overcrowded, too many kiosk tables everywhere. Vermelha next door is better.
Petr V — Google review
Beach relatively long and wide, totally exposed to waves. Not a place to swim but a great place to play with the waves. I didn't see any surfer. The water in the end of September is warm and many people are in the water. There's a short walk from the car parking among beautiful houses and the one day ticket is 10 reais.

Nestled in the stunning coastal town of Ubatuba, the Ubatuba Aquarium is a delightful blend of indoor and outdoor experiences that showcases an impressive array of local marine life. Established by a passionate group of oceanographers in 1994, this aquarium features around 70 species across its various enclosures, including Brazil's largest saltwater tank. Visitors can marvel at fascinating creatures like crabs, octopuses, sharks, and even Magellanic penguins from Patagonia.
Amazing place. Worth every penny from the ticket. Well guided, the staff is very gentle. Lots of information about sea life.
Luiz F — Google review
Was surprised at the array of animals there , staff were lovely and when raining spent a couple of hours sheltering inside !
George W — Google review
I liked it, kind of fun for children. It isn't as big as other ones around the world, but fits into this environment. The most fun was the playground behind it for my kids.
Daniel G — Google review
Small but very nice and well organized, employees were respectful and knowledgeable. The sharks and penguins were the highlight of the visit but the experience was really good overall, really worth the time.
Julio R — Google review
This aquarium is an excellent opportunity to make a immersion into the beauty and miseries of the sea, this place is prepared for a huge crowd of adults and kids enjoying multiple attractions, it is recomended to buy tickets online in advance to have a quick access to the place, also check the estimated time for some scheduled activities, like feeding the penguins, so you can have the best experience possible here, very recommended
Renner P — Google review
It was smaller than I've been to other places, but close and intimate. Probably crowded I peak season, but July it was perfect. Some signs had English but not all.
Mac S — Google review
Very nice manageable size for children. We saw species we'd never seen before and there is a beautiful shell collection. The tide exhibit was fun. The petting pool was a new experience too. There's a nicely decorated cafe (we got a free coffee with a family ticket) overlooking a play area outside on the promenade. The recycling exhibit was overly sombre at the end of the tour.
Rachel C — Google review
The visit is very pleasant and the path is interesting with posters and exhibitions. The place is not very big but there are spectacular types of marine animals. I suggest to avoid peak time as it could be stressing waiting in the queue. Near the exit, you can touch a number of live examples like the star fish, pepino do mar, etc. There is a small restaurant inside, which can also serve people not in the aquarium from the side overlooking the beach.

Hiking trail to Cachadaço Natural Pool

Mentioned on
1 list
Hiking area
Nature & Parks
Hot Springs & Geysers
The hiking trail to Cachadaço Natural Pool in Trindade Village offers a serene and clean natural swimming experience among colorful fishes. The medium difficulty trail is well-marked with steps, handrails, and boardwalks over swampy areas. Accessible from the beach, the 30-minute walk is suitable for most visitors, although closed-toe shoes are recommended. For those seeking an alternative to the trail, boat transport is available for a fee.
(Translated by Google) Super easy trail! Even kids can do it. From this point on, it's a 15 to 20 minute walk, with some ups and downs to the natural pools. The trail starts at the end of Cachadaço beach. You can go by boat from Praia do Meio, I think it's R$40/50 round trip. You can go by trail and return by boat (R$20/30). (Original) Trilha super tranquila!
Anderson ( — Google review
From the end of last beach to the natural pool I walked 25 minutes one way (walking quickly but with flipflops on a really muddy ground). Easy to find, but not for a "beach stroll" - my friends returned halfway without visiting the pool. There are boats waiting in case you want to return by taxi boat.
Hahaha H — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail will take you between 20 and 25 minutes. There are spots where you can stop to take photos and videos of the breathtaking scenery! In the natural pool area, which is a place where several huge rocks have gathered and the sea water gathers, meaning the water there is salty, forming a pool. No waves, no currents. Calm water, like a swimming pool, for you to enjoy. You'll see lots of fish swimming near you. It's totally worth it! For those who don't want to do the trail, because there are a lot of stairs, on the middle beach you can pay a man who stays there just for that purpose, with a boat, to take you there and bring you back. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the last time I went it was 50.00 round trip. You can also pay just to go, for example, and return by the trail. Then he'll only charge half.
Nathalia C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail is of moderate to difficult level, especially during the rainy season, when it becomes quite slippery in parts.
Mozer B — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail is full of incredible views. It is an easy/moderate trail, but it can be very dangerous if it has rained. I do not recommend it for seniors who are not used to exercising. There are points where we go up and down slopes, and it can be tiring. It is a trail of about 1.5 km (including the walk to the beach). But in the end, it is worth it. The natural pool is wonderful, shallow water for swimming and there are beautiful fish.

Guilherme C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail is simply spectacular, with incredible views, preserved vegetation and a medium level of difficulty. Some sections are very slippery during the rainy season. It takes between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the speed and agility of each person, as well as the flow of people in the area. The trail is a fundamental part of the experience for those who want to see the pools. I took a boat trip back (5 minutes), more for the experience of crossing the water. The pool is incredible, with many colorful fish. The water is cold and the landscape is sensational. I went in January and there were a lot of people, which made the water cloudy and scared away the fish. It is better to go in the low season. I highly recommend the tour. A água é fria e a paisagem é sensacional. Recomendo demais o passeio.
Gisele B — Google review
(Translated by Google) This trail is of medium difficulty (difficult for children under five and the elderly, and very difficult for people with reduced mobility), but it can be skipped if the tourist doesn't mind paying R$15 to go by boat (and another R$15 to return). The trail is well-marked, with steps and handrails in the more complicated sections. The swampy sections have planks that allow for easy passage. It should be avoided before or immediately after rain, as it is entirely muddy. Be careful of insects and the time of day you are hiking, as it is a trail in the middle of a reserve.

Cachadaço beach is a stunning, wide stretch of coastline with a trail leading to natural pools surrounded by rocks and lush native vegetation. To reach this tropical paradise, travelers can take a paved road from Bairro do Patrimonio in Paraty or pay attention after crossing the border between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro when coming from Ubatuba to Trindade. The beach is a favorite among explorers for its access to the Atlantic Forest hillside and short trail.
Great beach tropical paradise with great views and calm waters. We ate some delicious fresh oysters from a shucker right in the sand and also visited a restaurant with views of the water. This was the best beach for us while staying in Paraty

One of the beaches i prefered when in Brazil. So untouched, no hotels, no restaurants, not a lot of people. Really wild place. The walk from the Trindade beach is just beautiful. Enjoy a bit of trekking with my gf. U better use good shoes because its not that comfy with flipflops.

Awesome place. If you are visiting Parati, Trindade is one of top places here to visit, specially the beach named “praia do meio” which is a nature reserve. There is no commerce here, only a place to take a boat to visit the natural swimming pool called cachadaço. This place is one that you want to visit here!

This beach is much more quiet than the more touristic Dos Ranchi's beach, only a short trail away! But what a change in the scenery, with the big rock and the waves splashing against the rocks in the next beach, which is also accessible via a trail. A must visit when in Trindade!

Lula Beach, also known as Praia da Lulu or Beach of the Squid, is a secluded gem located on a small uninhabited island near Paraty. Accessible only by sea, this beautiful sandy beach boasts crystal clear waters and pristine white sands. The surrounding ocean is warm and inviting, perfect for swimming and relaxation. Just beautiful. Must go! (Just nature, no infrastructure such as washrooms or kiosks).

Brilliant place to spend all day but......too many ships with tourists with loud music, influencers taking millions of photos but it's still worth to take private transfer from Party and enjoy all day there. Remember to take food and drinks with you as there is nothing like shop or bar

It's just fantastic! You'll usually get there by boat, mine, was Netuno IV, great team by the way. You can jump from the boat and go swimming. Beautiful place.

A nice little beach which looks like you can only access via a boat tour which we paid R$50pp for (we went in June and you can probably negotiate this down). The water is warm and the views are amazing.

It is a place you must go if you visit Paraty. Rent a boat for the day as it is the only way to get to this beach. It can be a private boat or tour boat, they all go there, I honestly prefer the private boat as you can decide how long you want to stay in each place.

It was bigger than o ever imagined. It’s like an entire city, it takes hours to walk around and be able to appreciate every detail. Lots of stores inside and restaurants. With the Covid-19 restrictions, we couldn’t see more of the inside details but it was worth it. They have mass every hour and multiple locations as well. I loved it. Perfect to buy gifts and there more attractions outside the Basilica as well. The entire city is filled with attractions and even the cities nearby.

The parish priest tried to prevent a large flock of faithful to pray the Holy Rosary in front of the church. This had been announced days in advance. Instead he purposely rang all of the church bells, to make so much noise that nobody could understand a word - it was a wonderful experience to pray the Holy Rosary under such circumstance, against the orders of the pastor! *Shame on this parish pastor!*

However, I believe that because there are so many models, the tour with high school students is too quick! They quickly and mechanically tell the stories portrayed in the works, leaving us no time to contemplate them. We must value youth in this type of work, but it seems like there's a lack of better supervision (as well as financial resources—they accept donations). It's worth checking out. The journey takes about 2 hours, round trip, with stops at two stations: Manaca, where there is delicious popcorn from Fernando and Coronel Fulgencio, the last station, with a good bathroom. From this point, walk about 200 meters to the MMDC tunnel, on the border with SP, a true history lesson. Price of the tour on 23 March 24, 90 reais. Cards and cash accepted. It operates on Saturdays and Sundays, departing at 10 am and 2:30 pm. It also operates on holidays. I recommend arriving half an hour early to buy tickets, as there is a high demand for passengers. (Translated by Google) Here is a piece of Brazil's railway history, preserved and serving to pass on the story to future generations. This spectacular ride certainly needs some improvements, but that doesn't detract from the tour in any way. On the contrary, it's worth highlighting the work of these people in keeping part of our history alive! The ride takes about 2 hours round trip, leaving from the city of Passa Quatro to the tunnel that borders the state of São Paulo, which is also an important piece of Brazilian history. Children love the ride on the train pulled by a steam locomotive (the famous Maria Fumaça). I recommend buying tickets in advance, as they always sell out, as they only run on weekends!

(Translated by Google) An experience that is definitely worth it! You can buy tickets online, or you can make a reservation by WhatsApp/phone, which are listed on the website. There are parking spaces around the station with easy access. After booking, you need to go to the ticket office at the station and pick up your ticket, which is very nice. Payment methods accepted at the ticket office: Cash/credit and debit cards. There are clean bathrooms at the station! My family and I went on Sunday, boarding at 10 am. When boarding, the super polite and charismatic employees tell you about what the tour will be like, as well as the stations where they stop, which are Manacá and Coronel Fulgêncio. Along the way, they tell you interesting facts about the tour and there is a singer who livens up the entire route, who sings very well and entertains the crowd! At the stops, there are bathrooms and stalls selling sweets, drinks, and crafts. At the last station, Coronel Fulgêncio, the guide takes us to the stage of the revolution, the tunnel that connects the cities of Passa Quatro and Cruzeiro. To get to the tunnel, we walk a few meters. I recommend wearing warm clothing and comfortable shoes! Finally, the train makes its turn and we return to the station. Throughout the ride, we are privileged by a beautiful view and lots of nature!!! I recommend the ride. Recomendo o passeio.

Parque Nacional do Itatiaia

Mentioned on

National park
Nature & Parks
Park
Itatiaia National Park, Brazil's first national park, boasts a diverse range of landscapes from dense rainforests to rugged peaks. The lower section offers accessible trails leading to waterfalls and natural swimming holes, while the remote high country provides excitement for serious hikers and climbers. Visitors can enjoy abundant flora and fauna including orchids, monkeys, and tropical birds. Accessing the upper portion may require a high-clearance vehicle due to challenging roads.
Wonderful national park at Itataia. It's possible to visit the park on foot, bike or by car. Visitors entering the park by car must pay an extra fee (around R$ 24,00) to take it's paved and non paved roads on a motored vehicle. The activities available at the park for visitors range from a beautiful cultural centre with many historical highlights, track trails in a rich forest terrain, magnificent waterfalls to admire and freshen up, numerous bird watching spots, and exuberant viewpoints of the Mantiqueira Mountain and it's wildlife. The difficulty of tracks may vary a lot. Upon entry on the park, visitors are given a detailed map, which shows what's possible to do whilst visiting the site. The park is basically divided into a lower and an upper part. The most demanding tracks, which are also those that one needs to plan in advance, are located in the upper part of park. In those areas, it's possible to camp on designated areas or stay for the night at one of the park's lodging houses (reservation in advance needed). In the park's website, there are lots of information for visitors, and high definition pdf maps for downloading, as well as a list of well trained guides on the park whenever the need arises. It's not possible to park in any spot by the road, the permitted parking areas will be sign posted. All around the park, it's possible to see restaurants, hotels and other private properties, which means there's no time available to do everything you'll find at the park. It's a highly recommended visit, and a place not to forget.

A completely different environment if you use the north west entrance. Warning the 12km road can be very bad. Warning 2: Arrive early the last entrance is around 2pm. You must leave the park by 5pm. This may change during they year so it is best to chemo in advance.

(Translated by Google) The waterfall itself is really cool, with different spots with pools and waterfalls. I went on the first weekend of winter and at 2pm the sun was already gone. There are restaurants and private parking next to the waterfall (we paid 25.00). Note: I went on a holiday and it was really crowded. We waited 40 minutes for a space to appear in the parking lot. Apparently safe, children and adults can have a lot of fun. Parking costs 20.00, with no option to park on the street. Several restaurants and bars along the way, as well as street vendors. Even though there is no slide, the place is very cool to enjoy nature. You can go up the river quite a bit before the waterfall, it is worth exploring (Original) Escorrega obrigatório! St. Lawrence Water Park

Nature & Parks
St. Lawrence Water Park is a serene resort with mineral waters, beautiful gardens, and various sports facilities. Visitors can enjoy the calm atmosphere, take leisurely walks, and have peaceful conversations while admiring the lovely nature and interacting with ducks at the lake. The park offers different types of mineral spring water from distinct fountains, each with its own unique taste and health benefits. It is well-managed and provides good services such as those offered by the house of Bath.
It is a very beautiful area in the center of the city with a wonderful pond and nature area. You need to buy a ticket at the entrance but there are many options. There are many different animals and fruits inside. There are also natural spring waters that are only available in two places in the world (the other is in France), you can fill your bottle and drink (7 different sources & 9 different water sources) You can also rent pedal or motorized water vehicles here or use walking balloons. You can spend hours in this huge park and have a pleasant time listening to nature. There are also some playgrounds and cafeterias. If you pass by, I recommend you to visit, the heart of the city ♥️🇧🇷🌴
Pınar A — Google review
Beautiful water park, it has some small disadvantages. I really like that the park is wel maintained and looks good. However, for a water park the water fountains are sometimes a bit far apart. Also, this park has many water fountains with extremely metallic flavours. The park has many nice places to sit and relax to enjoy the beauty of the water park. The park has a restaurant, but that restaurant is not good, so I would not go. Parking is difficult close to the water park. Infront you can just park for teo hours, so you have to park further away. Inside there are also some nice shops with sweets and even an art gallery. For kids there are plenty of places to play in the park. The park consists out of two areas that are connected by a tunnel. The older park is more beautiful in my opinion. You can also rent several types of boats to go on the lake. Compared to other water parks you can not go out for lunch and come back with the same ticket. This is different from the English description at the entrance that clearly says that you just have to pay once per day, but that is not true. Overall, it is a great place to visit but with some small negative points.

Love the waterfalls. Crystal clear water. After finishing our 4 days of Travessia from Baependi, I took my shower here. It was damn cold and freezing. The steps to the waterfalls are well established. There are several places small ponds where even kids can enjoy the water.
