The hiking tour is nice but the price is ridiculous : R$ 900 for 2 adults and 2 kids. This includes the (forgettable) lunch but does not include the guide you must pay separetely! Despite this extremely high price, the owner apparently can't afford a decent equipment since the bus is falling to pieces. Go the national Park instead!!!
Kev G — Google review
This is a really interesting private venture with beautiful sandstone caves and well-preserved cerrado, the highly endangered local vegetation. It's very well managed and organized, and the full package includes an excellent lunch. Jota, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and we appreciated his patience with our terrible Portuguese. Note that we arrived without an outside guide, since you have to hire one of the local guides on site anyway. An outside guide may only be necessary for transportation to the site, and/or for translation. As others have noted, it is expensive, but we thought considering the professionalism and quality of the services, and the area's natural beauty, it was well worth the visit.

Shopping China Importados

Shopping mall
Shopping
Department Stores
Exercise caution when dealing with counterfeit merchandise. Familiarize yourself with the prevailing prices in your local area or online prior to visiting Shopping China Importados. Generally, prices are comparable, but opting for installment payments within Brazil can help you avoid foreign transaction taxes. Additionally, converting your funds into US dollars before shopping can lead to greater savings. It is advisable not to rely on credit cards at this establishment due to potential issues.
The best place to buy original imported goods in Pedro Juan Caballero. The prices are higher than other shops but absolutely everything is good quality and original.
Rose V — Google review
Employees often do not care much about you or are talking in parallel. That's the only apparent and recurrent defect. Despite this, great variety of products and promotions are that worth it, the temptation is great to the point of spending a great deal of money.
Rafael F — Google review
Be aware of fake items. Get to know the prices in the city you live or on the Internet before heading to Shopping China. Usually, prices will be the same but you can pay on installment in Brazil and avoid the IOF tax on foreign expenses. Furthermore, exchange your funds into US dollars before shopping. That way you will save more. Do not use your credit card!
Luciano G — Google review
good prices to buy in dollar or Brazilian real. Cozy food court and Brazilian foods available. beware of salespeople
Jean F — Google review
Best products in PJC, competitive prices. If you are planning to spend more than $500 I suggest checking the exchange rate before hand and comparing to the exchange places downtown PJC.

It's ok. Was better earlier. Today you enters a 3rd world H&M, whilst earlier you had a proper department store, not only clothing and co.

Minas de Wanda

Sights & Landmarks
Mine
Guided tours of a precious stone mine, with a souvenir shop & a park themed around Guarani myths.
Must seen place)) and still owned by Bosch family)
Jafar K — Google review
Had my own private tour guide who spoke English well. $6 USD entry fee in Dec 2024. Spent quite a bit of time in the mine because I am very interested. Really cool to see! But the polished rocks in the gift shop are more costly than back home (2-3 times more expensive) plus you’d have to carry them on your travels. Some fist size amethyst specimens, for example, are over $50 USD. Ouch. No thank you. I don’t have confidence that most of those rocks in the shop come from the mine, other than the amethyst and some citrine. There were some booths along the road I wish I checked out that may sell local specimens at a more reasonable price, but I ran out of time. Buffet lunch with drink for one person at the nice on-site restaurant was $23 USD plus tip. Worth it to check out! (Took away one star for the overblown prices in the shop).
R S — Google review
If you’re in the area, this is a nice, interesting place to stop but, because it’s such a short tour, don’t go too far out of your way. My guide spoke English so that helped a lot. The mines were very interesting and the jewelry in the gift shop is VERY beautiful - so be careful!
Mary Z — Google review
We visited the Wanda Mines early in the morning, crossing from Brazil into Argentina around 7 AM to avoid the border crowds. The drive took about an hour from the Brazilian side, passing through two small towns before reaching Wanda, a quiet community founded by Polish and German immigrants after World War II. The visit itself was surprisingly interesting. You get to see how the crystals—especially amethyst—are extracted directly from the rock, and mining operations are still active today. At the end, there’s a shop where they sell the stones taken from the mine, with plenty of beautiful pieces to choose from. Overall, it’s a pleasant and educational stop that takes about an hour and a half. If you’re already heading to the Argentinian side for sightseeing, it’s definitely worth the extra time to visit the mines as well.
Alper Y — Google review
The mines were OK. It takes about 5 minutes to go through the mines. You are told about the different rocks originating from the mine by the guide. There are food shops and a touristy souvenir shop close by. If you want to get cheaper souvenirs, without the touristy inflation, try going just outside the mines, the locals sometimes have stalls and sell things cheaper.
Alena — Google review
Interesting place. You can access the mines that are only at floor level. Nice collection of geodes. The are a nice restaurant close.
Gustavo C — Google review
This was one of the first places we visited on our trip, and it was worth the drive. Gonzalo the tour guide, was incredibly patient with our son and did his best to include him throughout the visit. The gift shop at the end is lovely, if a little bit pricey considering we were at the mines.
Nathalie M — Google review
We are from the United States and really liked the mine tour. One of the guides speaks English which were were grateful for. He gave us a really nice tour. The shop is very nice with items at all price points. We hired a taxi from Puerto Iguazu who drove us to mine, waited, and returned us to Puerto Iguazu.

Ruins of San Ignacio Miní

Mentioned on
3 lists
Historical place
Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
The Ruins of San Ignacio Miní, located in Misiones Province, Argentina, offer a glimpse into the 17th-century Catholic mission. These ruins are renowned for their well-preserved state and intricate carved ornamentation. Visitors can explore the site's museum and enjoy interactive panels with multilingual audio guides. Additionally, a sound-and-light show is available on clear nights. The tour includes access to nearby ruins at Santa Ana and Loreto as well as Santa Maria la Mayor further away.
Visiting this historic site was a fantastic experience. The ruins are incredibly well-preserved, transporting you back in time and giving you a glimpse of how the indigenous people and Jesuits lived 400 years ago. We were lucky to arrive just as the guided tour (included at no extra cost) was starting. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the site’s history and the region as a whole. The site also features two small museums, one near the entrance and another near the exit, which added even more context to the visit. The only downside is that the ticket office doesn’t accept credit cards. If you prefer paying that way, you’ll need to purchase your tickets online.
Rafael S — Google review
Interesting place. The town parking guys charge for parking but then retrieve the receipts so they can pocket the money. Smart con move. You will be pestered for money from young dirty kids. Good job on restoration work inside.
Jeffrey S — Google review
The museum sets the stage and the ruins fill in a lot of gaps. So impressed with what they built in the 1600's with creativity and artisan touches. Changed my understanding of what Jesuit Priests would do. Great efforts to keep it as restored as possible.

Padaria e Confeitaria Carla

Bakery
Nestled in the charming town of São Miguel das Missões, Padaria e Confeitaria Carla is a delightful spot that promises an array of culinary treats. With a comprehensive menu featuring both sweet and savory options, this bakery and café offers something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy a cozy atmosphere perfect for sipping coffee while indulging in their delicious pastries, like the highly recommended cream cheese-filled delights. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe, making it an ideal place to relax and savor your meal.
(Translated by Google) Imagine a surprise!! We came here because of a Google search and now we want to go back. The bakery is small, with just a few tables. The service is very friendly. You order at the counter, the coffee is from a machine and they bring it to your table. We had chicken and cream cheese pastries and beef and cream cheese pastries. It's hard to say which one was the tastiest. Both were huge and super stuffed, with a crust that looked like a breaded pastry. Very different and in a good way. Super dry and crispy. We travel a lot and have eaten pastries in many places in Brazil, but the ones we had here today are, without a doubt, some of the best, if not the best, we've ever had. Congratulations! (Original) Pensa numa surpresa!!

(Translated by Google) Hello! How are you? I was at the bakery recently and ordered a hot chocolate, but was served milk with Nescau. When I asked for a change, I noticed the attendant wasn't very pleased with the order, so I decided to write more calmly. I just wanted to leave a suggestion: what most people understand by "hot chocolate" is a drink made with real chocolate or cocoa, usually thicker, creamier, and with a more intense flavor—different from a simple chocolate milk. I understand that each place has its own way of preparing it, but as a customer, it's frustrating to expect one thing and receive something else. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to specify this on the menu or even rethink the recipe to offer something closer to the traditional. I appreciate your attention and hope this suggestion is received warmly. I really like the place and hope they continue to improve! However, I must say that even given the situation, they didn't charge me and canceled the order. They acted appropriately, and for that, I congratulate the business. (Original) Olá! Tudo bem?

(Translated by Google) I went in the summer of 2024 Throughout the Chajarí hot springs property, a few drops of rain fall, and they are left without electricity and water. The receptionist at the accommodation was quite arrogant and haughty, the only means of payment they accept is cash, and she insistently told me GO AND WITHDRAW MORE CASH (without knowing how much cash I had). Without electricity and without water I paid the same for the stay as if I had the service. The Wi-Fi signal is given to you by 3 or 4 users and none of them work properly. That was my experience last summer. Much to improve.

(Translated by Google) The apartment is very large, with two spacious bedrooms. You have to climb a staircase, just in case for those with reduced mobility. The only negative I can say is that it was very cold at night, and we weren't walking, so I couldn't operate the air conditioning remote controls. But after all, it's a very spacious and lovely apartment, and very close to the hot springs. (Translated by Google) I go to the hot springs frequently but this is the last time I stay with MEJOR TURISMO, let's start there were no kitchen utensils, the refrigerator didn't get cold, the blanket had a smell of pee, the cabins haven't been maintained for a while and every They are getting worse, next to the bungalow they are doing construction work and at 7 am they start working. Rest, forget it!!! I asked to change my cabin for the days I had left since I spent three days putting up with this and I had two more nights left, and I wanted to rest, which was what that place attended, and instead of recognizing their mistake and their problem, they wanted me charge $64,000 more... I really don't understand, instead of taking care of the tourist, they take advantage of you...

(Translated by Google) The bungalows called "thermal coast" have hot water that lasts less than 4 minutes, not enough even for those of us with short hair. In the middle of July, not being able to take a peaceful hot shower on vacation seems basic to me. I wouldn't recommend it either, since they don't change the towels, but only EVERY THREE DAYS. Imagine in the middle of winter, when they don't dry no matter how many times you hang them up. Having wet towels to dry yourself doesn't seem basic to me either. Having dry towels is basic, since you pay for each day of your stay. Also keep in mind that until you sign, they don't tell you that the remaining daily amount of the bungalow is cash only; otherwise, they'll raise it by 20%.

Great place in the east coast of Entre Rios Province near the rio Uruguay. Not expensive (540 $ a day). Clean and green. You can carry your own beach chair or rent one. You can bring your own food & drinks (except alcohol not allowed) or eat at the restaurant. All pools are free access. Family environment and youth area. Thermal pools, water slides and waves pool. Highly recommended.

The park has got cafés, gift-shops, snack shops, picnic tables, and benches, and even a water park form the ones who are looking for a more active experience. It offers a variety of pools at different temperatures. It was reasonably clean, yet it's too crowded.

I've been constantly going to this termal park for 6 years and has continuous managed to provide a great experience. A vast amount of pools with a wide water temperature range and different sectors for kids an adults alike. I rate it 4 stars mainly because there have been some changes that I disliked; such as changing the depth of the swimming pool from 2 meters and a half to a meter and sixty and the price spike probably caused by the mixing the termal complex with a great water park. It's still one of the cheapest among the many in the area though and has a spa and many eating facilities inside. A great place!

The main highlight is Playa Paraiso, a huge thermal pool with artificial waves - a unique feature in the country.

This is a review for the restaurant. The park was awesome. Review for La Casona Restaurant Unfortunately, our experience at La Casona was disappointing. None of us were happy with our meals—everything we ordered was either hard, lacked flavor, or was strangely prepared. It really missed the mark on all fronts. On top of that, we were surprised to see a charge of $2.20 per person just for using utensils, which was printed right on the menu. That’s a first for us, and frankly, it felt unreasonable—especially considering the food quality. In the end, we decided not to waste the rest of our time or money and went somewhere else for desert. Would not recommend.

The guided tour was quite limited, but answered all our questions. The guide combines technological interaction with her explanations. You can tour the grounds and learn about the different points. You can bring your mate and enjoy a pleasant moment on the benches and tables. There are some old agricultural machinery from that era. The bathrooms are spotless, clean, and stocked with toilet paper. It is very nice to know that the place is prepared to accommodate people with reduced mobility: there are several wheelchairs on the premises. And some signs are translated into Braille for people with limited vision. A very nice place to learn a little about the history of the San José neighborhood with the arrival of the family. Forclaz, the work of the time, and his home There are some games for children: slides, swings, among others. No food or beverages are sold. Nestled 33 kilometers west of Concepción, the Palacio San José is a stunning 19th-century pink palace that stands as a testament to Argentina's rich history. Surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and topped with twin towers, this architectural gem was constructed by Justo José de Urquiza, a prominent figure in Argentine politics who played a crucial role in the downfall of his rival Juan Manuel de Rosas.
Museum full of art, history and beautiful outdoors and gardens, people there are super chill and nice and the women at the entrance speak good ingles, we felt welcome and enjoy our time. Only recommendation is to bring your own water and snacks because there’s nothing nearby really. Went there so many times and I’ll keep going because is just so beautiful

Good place to go and learn a bit about Argentinian history. The guided walk-around was thoroughly explained, easy to understand. General Justo José Urquiza had a very modern Palace here. The only thing to improve is that they're not keeping it in good conditions and it is deteriorating. It would be a shame that important historical pieces were damaged because of this.
Keren S — Google review
This palace was the house of Justo José de Urquiza. One of the most powerful men of the XIX century from the area where Argentina was established. There you can go throughout the building and know all about his life, try to be there at 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 hours for a guided visit (it is free and only in Spanish) The place is amazing due its history, so do not avoid the guide tour. Try to read the book "Palacio de la memoria" before to go, due that the building is full of secret symbols. Up. Conservation of the building and garden, very helpful guide tour, free entrance and parking. Down. Restroom is not so clean.

Bungalows ok! The park beautyfull and well maintended The pools ok, but low temperature between 34/36, under 37 that is not optimal. I went in winter
Santiago M — Google review
The fee is currently 2000 pesos per person on weekends. For that I would expect hot water in all pools, all jets working and clean pools. Obviously I mention it because none of that was true. The bottom of one pool was so filthy it made a cloud in the water as I walked over it. Many pools had no water. No jets were working. The grass and seating areas are very nice. The gardens look great. The bathrooms and showers near the pools were very clean. Others were filthy. The store and food prices were fair. This is not a true thermal pool, the chimney belches smoke as it tries to heat the water. The water was not the posted temperatures. The children’s pools offered various slides and more clear water than the hot pools. It could be an incredible place, but it is not. It is very average and in need of attention.

What a wonderful run family vineyard. It might be small but what an awesome place. We took the tour & had the platter with wine tasting. Our most disappointing accommodation in Uruguay - disengaged staff and outrageously expensive. WHAT’S GOOD * Super comfortable bed and good size room. * Lots of friendly dogs around (some owned by the family, others come in from the street). * Amazing restaurant in Carmelo called Nido - sensational food, great prices and wonderful staff. WHAT’S NOT SO GOOD * Outrageously expensive (and more than twice the price our nights in Punta del Este, Montevideo and Buenos Aires) - very poor value for money. Breakfast was basic with supermarket bread (delivered to your room at 5pm the night before). * Staff were extremely disengaged. We asked what restaurants were open and they said they would bring a list to our room - this didn’t happen. We asked for toilet paper as it wasn’t replenished and it didn’t come (so my husband had to go and ask again). And both male and female staff walk past your windows and peer into the glass windows (from less than a metre away) - like a peeping Tom -not private or respectful. * Construction is on the site (diggers) and starts at 8am and goes all day (together with the mowing).

We went for our Anniversary and the experience was an 11 out of 10! The guys are incredible. Their philosophy is to feel at home and they make it beyond comfortable to relax in their wonderful countryside location, enjoy the beautiful food and wines that are now 👍👍👍. Delicious is an understatement. Go and enjoy...you won't regret it...one of the best stops ever!

What an amazing experience. Sebastian was an excellent host and teacher. They are open from 11-8 (ignore google’s hours). I am a Californian and this is some of the best red wine we have tasted. We encourage you to linger over your three glasses of syrah, tannat, and grand reserve of both aged in oak for 2+ years with a delicious tray of cheese, meat and toasted bread. If here in February, you can watch them process their luscious grapes and experience the New York Times reviewed bodega experience. Meeting Bernardo and his son Juan and learning about their family history was a highlight of our Uruguayan trip.

(Translated by Google) The hotel was a pleasant surprise, because the general view of Carmelo is not very pretty, except for the Rio da Prata waterfront. However, the apartment was huge, with a living room, kitchen and suite, all very spacious. Cable TV and air conditioning completed the accommodations in an area separate from the rooms and the main part of the hotel. Located in a green area, with a kind of mini zoo and a playground right in front, the hotel also has an outdoor and indoor pool, which are very pleasant. There is also a restaurant that serves good options. You can stay at the hotel all day, in short, for the convenience, tranquility and leisure for those who enjoy outdoor activities. It is sensational for children. It is also great for adults, as it has a games room and even a casino, but I had no interest in visiting this one, as it is not to my liking. The breakfast is also excellent!

The pool, which is in the hotel opposite, is good, although it could be better, because in winter if you get out of the water and go to the bathroom, it is cool and under the same roof. The bed is quite comfortable and a very good size, although due to personal taste, it is a little soft. There is a TV with HD cable and a small minibar, although good for a couple of drinks. The park in the background is beautiful even in the cold. Good access to the beach. Maybe the room is a little cold in winter and could be better heated. Río de la Plata is a historic and picturesque region located in the south of Uruguay, facing Buenos Aires across the river. Colonia del Sacramento, one of the oldest towns in Uruguay, offers a simple trip planning process with a 1-3 hour ferry ride from Buenos Aires. The area features a lighthouse that has guided boats along the river since the 1800s and provides stunning views of beautiful beaches.
Tourist trap verging on outright fraud! The prices here are simply astronomical. This place is a tourist trap. We should have taken heed of the fact that the place was empty and we were the only diners, but it looked like a nice enough spot. The food was passable but unremarkable and lacked seasoning or flavour. When the bill arrived and we calculated the cost it was completely unreflective of the standard of the restaurant. Even for a tourist -trap town, this was intolerable. When we came to pay we were told the card machine had 'run out of paper' despite having confirmed repeatedly when we arrived that they accepted card payment and being the only diners in the establishment! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

HORRIBLE!!! Please do not go here!!! Worst food ever: salad with tons of mayo but no dressing, oily vegetable wok, greasy calamary rings and worst of all DOG HAIR in the food (because there is an actual dog in the kitchen!!!). And the prices were tremendous (paied about $130 for the 4 of us and didn’t even order anything fancy). We complained, but they would not give us any discount under any circumstance. We have never eaten in a worse restaurant ever!!
Léa P — Google review
SCAM! It is beyond tourist trap, is a complete scam. Is by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had! We asked if we could pay with credit card and they said yes and just when we had to leave they said they had a problem, they knew we were in a rush for the ferry to go back to Buenos Aires. Food was really poor quality, it was tasteless, prices were outrageous, as if we weer dining on a Michelin star restaurant but with spiderweb on the chairs and food without flavour, they charged for bread they didn't give us, and so on. Really terrible place, they charged us service compulsory it was a complete scam.
Lassla E — Google review
Save your money, not worth it the outrageous prices for everything. Only redeeming features are the view and they have dogs. Food was below average. Proprietors sat outside and smoked the whole time we were there. Prices are just silly expensive. Rather go somewhere else where you’ll get what you pay for, although it will be difficult because nowhere else charges so much.
James D — Google review
Turist trap!!! Don't there the food is bad and prices are outrageous. We order a "trucha" that tasted more like a farm salmon. All fish is frozen. We spend more than $USD70 for a very bad lunch.

If you like to wait more than 40 mins for a piece of fish and mashed potatos then you will looove this place. If you like to be Charged over 60 US dollars for a piece of fish and mashed potatos then this place if for you. Enjoy

DON"T STOP. The food is not edible. We ordered ravioli's and couldn't even eat one that's how bad they were. I have had canned ones that were better. The prices are high, the food is bad, the service is bad. The only good thing was the location. Again don't stop.

Calle de los Suspiros, also known as the Street of Sighs, is a charming stone-paved street located in a World Heritage Site. The area is filled with colorful buildings and rich historical tales. Visitors can explore the Plaza Mayor and its unique monuments such as the City Gate with an impressive drawbridge, the 1857 Lighthouse, and the oldest church in Uruguay, Iglesia Matriz. The post-colonial architecture of the city is beautifully illustrated by this church.

Visitors are encouraged to allocate at least 4-5 hours to explore this charming city before catching their ferry.
we visited the lighthouse during our trip, and although we couldn’t go inside due to the long line and its midday closure, it was still a beautiful sight to see. One thing to note is that children under 8 aren’t allowed inside, which influenced our decision not to enter. Even so, the experience was enjoyable. The lighthouse stands as a stunning landmark surrounded by charming old buildings, which added to the historic and picturesque atmosphere of the area. Simply walking around and soaking in the views made it a worthwhile stop.

The town was very nice. Close to wineries, although I wasn't able to fit that in. It is more for couples and families then it is for nightlife. Quiet and relaxing. One or two days is all you need.
Andrew B — Google review
If you want to get a nice picture for the entire town, you have to get up there, and I am calling it the "Million Dollars View". The stairs are very steep, and they don't allow people wearing sandals in for safety reasons.
Jonna N — Google review
🏛️🏛️🏛️ A HISTORICAL LANDMARK. The lighthouse is the most prominent structure within the walled fort of Colonia del Sacramento. Built in the 1850s on the ruins of nunnery. The beacon of the lighthouse has been a guide to ships in the estuary of Rio Plata.
A ( — Google review
Walking through the cobblestone streets of Colonia del Sacramento feels like stepping into a time capsule. Every stone, every colonial facade, every old lantern seems to whisper stories of sailors, merchants, and cultures that crossed paths in this corner of Uruguay. And right in the heart of it all stands the lighthouse. The Colonia Lighthouse rises above the ruins of the old San Francisco Xavier convent, and from the top, you get a sweeping view of the city embracing the Rio de la plata river But the real magic isn’t just the lighthouse. It’s the walk. Heading downhill from the historic center toward the river, surrounded by whitewashed walls, blooming bougainvillea, and uneven stones, you feel something deeper. There’s a quiet energy, almost spiritual. The Río de la Plata appears at the end like a vast mirror, and you feel small but full. Recommendation: Take the walk in the late afternoon, when the sun begins to dip. The golden light on the stones and the river creates a magical atmosphere. And if you can, climb the lighthouse just before sunset. It’s a postcard moment you won’t forget.
Joseph G — Google review
Cool lighthouse 💡🏠 to stop by briefly. It looked really cool with the blue 🔵 sky and birds 🐦 flying in the background. Unfortunately, it was closed ⛔ when we went so we couldn't see the inside of it.
Vikram B — Google review
Nice old colonial town, there are a lot of bars and restaurants, you can climb the lighthouse, walk the original streets and spend easily half a day waiting perhaps for the ferry to Buenos Aires. The old town is situated just a few blocks away from the ferry and bus terminal.

República de los Niños is an expansive indoor and outdoor park in Argentina, featuring 35 kid-sized buildings such as a train and fire station. The park offers a beautiful and vast area for walking and relaxation under the trees. While some visitors find the atmosphere enchanting, others feel that the maintenance of the buildings could be improved. Additionally, there are mentions of inconveniences such as limited payment options, mosquito invasions during certain seasons, and crowded entrances.
Free to enter! It's like Disneyland, but without the lawyer infested Disney stuff. The first area is very good, with some great places for food and slushies. Big portions of food. The only downside is that the airplane simulator was absolute garbage. I paid good money to go in a box that shows low quality drone footage stitched together of the park. It's like looking at a 240p video on YouTube from 2006.

One of the best place to spend the day with children in Argentine. If you are going by car, try to arrive early, because the only one entrance is very crowed. Up. Amazing litlle castles. Down. It has only one car entrance, there are some building which need to be restored, there are some spiral stair which go to the upper towers that are not available.

Awesome. Great for kids. A fantastic old school museum in a gorgeous building, more dinosaur bones and animal skeletons and taxidermy animals than anyone would ever need. Upstairs has more modern interactive exhibits, but the first floor is why you come. Truly a world class collection of dinosaurs on display. If you have kids, this will be the highlight of their week.

Churches & Cathedrals
Catedral de La Plata is an expansive neo-Gothic cathedral that can accommodate up to 7,000 people. Construction began in 1885 and the building was finally inaugurated in 1932, with the twin steeples completed much later in 1999. The design of the cathedral was inspired by medieval churches in Cologne and Amiens, featuring exquisite stained-glass windows, gargoyles, and polished granite floors.
The La Plata Cathedral is impressive from the outside. It is very tall, and you can see the entire building clearly from the plaza in front of it. Across the plaza, the municipal building adds to the overall atmosphere of the area. Inside, the dome is very high up and magnificently decorated. One thing that really stood out was the confession boxes. The woodwork there is very detailed and intricate. We have not seen anything like it before in a cathedral. There are also many colourful stained glass windows that are beautifully decorated. Overall, the cathedral is grand and welcoming. It is definitely worth a visit when you are in La Plata.
River A — Google review
The catedral is really nice and is open for everybody. If you want to visit the museo and the tower it costs 10$ per adult. The museum is underneath the church and they even have a small gift shop. The fime when I visited only the Jesus tower was open for visitors. You can go to two floors. With an elevator where a guy tells you important historical facts about the Catedral de la Plata. The view from the top floor over La Plata is nice.

You don't expect this kind of architecture in South America and you definitely don't expect a Cathedral with this level of detail to be made of brick. The design was incredible and the history behind the building is unique as well. The interior is just as grand as the exterior and has a holy aura to it. Definitely worth stopping in for a minimum of 30 minutes. The stain glass alone is worth it
