Shopping China Importados

Department Stores
Exercise caution when dealing with counterfeit merchandise. Familiarize yourself with the prevailing prices in your local area or online prior to visiting Shopping China Importados. Generally, prices are comparable, but opting for installment payments within Brazil can help you avoid foreign transaction taxes. Additionally, converting your funds into US dollars before shopping can lead to greater savings. It is advisable not to rely on credit cards at this establishment due to potential issues.
The best place to buy original imported goods in Pedro Juan Caballero. The prices are higher than other shops but absolutely everything is good quality and original.
Rose V — Google review
Employees often do not care much about you or are talking in parallel. That's the only apparent and recurrent defect. Despite this, great variety of products and promotions are that worth it, the temptation is great to the point of spending a great deal of money.
Rafael F — Google review
Be aware of fake items. Get to know the prices in the city you live or on the Internet before heading to Shopping China. Usually, prices will be the same but you can pay on installment in Brazil and avoid the IOF tax on foreign expenses. Furthermore, exchange your funds into US dollars before shopping. That way you will save more. Do not use your credit card!
Luciano G — Google review
good prices to buy in dollar or Brazilian real. Cozy food court and Brazilian foods available. beware of salespeople

Best products in PJC, competitive prices. If you are planning to spend more than $500 I suggest checking the exchange rate before hand and comparing to the exchange places downtown PJC.

Minas de Wanda

Sights & Landmarks
Mine
Guided tours of a precious stone mine, with a souvenir shop & a park themed around Guarani myths.
Must seen place)) and still owned by Bosch family)
Jafar K — Google review
Had my own private tour guide who spoke English well. $6 USD entry fee in Dec 2024. Spent quite a bit of time in the mine because I am very interested. Really cool to see! But the polished rocks in the gift shop are more costly than back home (2-3 times more expensive) plus you’d have to carry them on your travels. Some fist size amethyst specimens, for example, are over $50 USD. Ouch. No thank you. I don’t have confidence that most of those rocks in the shop come from the mine, other than the amethyst and some citrine. There were some booths along the road I wish I checked out that may sell local specimens at a more reasonable price, but I ran out of time. Buffet lunch with drink for one person at the nice on-site restaurant was $23 USD plus tip. Worth it to check out! (Took away one star for the overblown prices in the shop).
R S — Google review
If you’re in the area, this is a nice, interesting place to stop but, because it’s such a short tour, don’t go too far out of your way. My guide spoke English so that helped a lot. The mines were very interesting and the jewelry in the gift shop is VERY beautiful - so be careful!
Mary Z — Google review
We visited the Wanda Mines early in the morning, crossing from Brazil into Argentina around 7 AM to avoid the border crowds. The drive took about an hour from the Brazilian side, passing through two small towns before reaching Wanda, a quiet community founded by Polish and German immigrants after World War II. The visit itself was surprisingly interesting. You get to see how the crystals—especially amethyst—are extracted directly from the rock, and mining operations are still active today. At the end, there’s a shop where they sell the stones taken from the mine, with plenty of beautiful pieces to choose from. Overall, it’s a pleasant and educational stop that takes about an hour and a half. If you’re already heading to the Argentinian side for sightseeing, it’s definitely worth the extra time to visit the mines as well.
Alper Y — Google review
The mines were OK. It takes about 5 minutes to go through the mines. You are told about the different rocks originating from the mine by the guide. There are food shops and a touristy souvenir shop close by. If you want to get cheaper souvenirs, without the touristy inflation, try going just outside the mines, the locals sometimes have stalls and sell things cheaper.
Alena — Google review
Interesting place. You can access the mines that are only at floor level. Nice collection of geodes. The are a nice restaurant close.
Gustavo C — Google review
This was one of the first places we visited on our trip, and it was worth the drive. Gonzalo the tour guide, was incredibly patient with our son and did his best to include him throughout the visit. The gift shop at the end is lovely, if a little bit pricey considering we were at the mines.
Nathalie M — Google review
We are from the United States and really liked the mine tour. One of the guides speaks English which were were grateful for. He gave us a really nice tour. The shop is very nice with items at all price points. We hired a taxi from Puerto Iguazu who drove us to mine, waited, and returned us to Puerto Iguazu.

Nestled near an old train station, the Associação dos Moradores da Vila Belga is a charming destination that showcases colorful, historic houses and cobblestone streets. This picturesque neighborhood reflects its rich history as the first housing complex in Rio Grande do Sul, originally home to railway workers in the early 20th century. While it may not feel entirely safe for extended visits, a quick stroll through this typical locale offers a glimpse into its unique character.

(Translated by Google) The UFSM Planetarium is an incredible space for scientific outreach and leisure. Sessions feature engaging astronomy presentations, films for all ages, and excellent sound and image quality. The environment is well-maintained, and offering free open sessions by appointment demonstrates the concern for community access. The service is attentive and organized: 15 minutes in advance is enough to guarantee a spot for the open sessions. Area for improvement: unfortunately, in-person sessions are held exclusively during business hours—between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday—which makes access difficult for those with daytime jobs. It would be excellent if there were evening or weekend options to accommodate those with these commitments. Overall, the UFSM Planetarium is a gem for Santa Maria: educational, well-structured, with excellent programming, and free to the general public. Adjusting the hours could make it even more accessible and integrated into the community.

Landmark viaduct with viewing points over 2 steep, wooded river valleys connected by a rail tunnel.
The highest railroad bridge in America (North and South). It's possible to walk on the bridges and between them. But should be careful. The Fence there aren't everywhere. Sometimes, usually at night, but not only, there are trains. Better to have transport to go to here. This place on the middle of countryside

Wineries & Vineyards
Luiz Argenta is a must-visit destination for anyone, whether you're a wine enthusiast or just looking to enjoy a beautiful day out. I scheduled my visit a few days in advance and was pleasantly surprised to join an exclusive tour not listed online, thanks to our group size. The vineyard itself is stunning, offering breathtaking views that enhance the experience of learning about wine production. During the tour, we explored the plantation and even had the chance to pick some grapes ourselves!
It's a great place to visit wether you like wine or not. We scheduled the visit a couple days before and because we were in a group we managed to get a tour that was not listed on the website. The vineyard is breathtaking and it's quite interesting to learn more about the wine production. We had a tour around the plantation and picked some grape. After that we had a picnic with cheese, fruit and wine. We also had the opportunity to visit the manufacturer and the wine cellar. There was also a tasting part in which we were blindfolded and savored some different sparkling wines. At the end, we had a lunch on the bistro.

(Translated by Google) I had an excellent overall experience at the winery. The tour was very well guided, and the views were truly breathtaking. The tasting areas were carefully organized, and I truly appreciated the quality of the wines presented. However, one aspect that compromised the experience was the presence of children, accompanied by other visitors, who ended up creating a lot of noise during the tasting. This made it difficult to fully appreciate the wine's notes, as there was constant noise and distractions. I understand that this is not a fault of the winery, but rather an external circumstance. However, this specific factor ultimately impacted my final rating. If it weren't for this, I would certainly give it full marks without reservation.

As the largest winery in Brazil, it provides an exceptional experience with informative guided tours that delve into the details of winemaking. This is the biggest winery in Brazil. I took the tour with the guide and she explained everything to me in details. Before the end of the tour, they teach you how to drink the wine. Definitely recommended
Muhammed S — Google review
Absolutely a deception in regards of presentation and expectation. Perhaps my expectation was really high, but I definitely was expecting much more of a vineyard like Miolo. I love the scooters collection. But the person presenting the history and the wine fabrication was so robotic and not passionated about the products, productions and the history itself. A pity! Hope they can improve.

Years ago I used to come quite often.. I did the tasting, visitation etc. this year I went just to buy one specific wine (Lote 43). I wanted to try other wines (specifically the pinot noir. For my surprise they told us they don’t do more tasting of single bottles and you have to do the paid tasting. They would allowed me to do to the tasting without the visitation, but when I asked which wines were included they would not tell. But basically pinot noir would not be one of them. So what’s the purpose? You go to a winery to try the flavour and then buy a bottle. The staff it is nice the place ia beautiful but the wine purchase was disappointed and then after coming here before definitely not coming back

This place has a nice view and good structure. Visited it there with my family and it all started bad with the cashier, who also seems to be the manager there. She was extremely rude when we were picking the items we wanted and inquired about the extremely high cost of the wine glasses (yes, you have to buy the glasses).
Luiz D — Google review
Went here for a wine tour during the week. Did several other wine tours in the area over 1,5 weeks before. The company has become a typical example of a company growing too fast. Amongst other things this made it lose its authenticity. The tour guide sought no connection with the crowd and talks in a way someone would give a presentation in a primary school. Other employees are just at the company for work and do not really seem to care about their customers. It almost seems that the company scale increase made it lose just that which allowed it to grow: a good story; passionate people; a company that is actually working on a product instead of providing models "showing" the proces; and a tasting with a build in flavors instead of a mix. If you just want to be informed on a factory proces and taste some wine: go here. If you want to be guided through authentic companies by passionate people who do what they love: go elsewhere. There a plenty of companies in the area around Bento which are worth a visit. This could be on the same road, or in other areas like Faria Lemos.

Casa Valduga is one of those places in the world that you can not miss! I visited this winery in May 2025, during my trip to the Vale dos Vinhedos area. BTW, Luisa Valduga is the best host ever, and their wine cellar is out of this world!

Every single person from Valduga treated us graciously and respectful, without rush, teaching us about everything we asked about. We were awarded a very funny and long chat with one of the owners, Mr. João Valduga, who more than just explain about the place, made thousand of good jokes, promoting the same sensation of being in a small and familiar winery. Most important! They have a cute dog called Nero waling over there

(Translated by Google) We were attracted by the leaflet available at the hotel reception, which indicated an excellent pizza baked in a wood-fired oven and served in a rustic and beautiful environment, in addition to serving the innovative sago pizza. The leaflet also said that there would be a transfer from hotel to winery to hotel, but after contacting us via WhatsApp, which took a while to respond, we were informed that this benefit is only for larger groups and does not apply to couples. We also imagined that the service would be a la carte, but the information passed on via WhatsApp indicated that it was an all-you-can-eat system. When we arrived at the pizzeria, we were informed that since we arrived after 10 pm, only the a la carte system was available. We then ordered a medium pizza, half Portuguese and half steak with wine, which was just good, without surprises and could be improved in the presentation. We also tried the famous sago pizza, which is a cold pizza, with Maria biscuit dough, cream base, sago and condensed milk, which was a kindness of the restaurant, since we were not able to participate in the all-you-can-eat system. We found the pizza to be different and tasty, but it is not really a pizza, but rather a dessert. The wine list is reasonable and the beer list is weak. The noise level was high that night. The service is friendly and polite. The menu is not digital, there is no alcohol gel on the tables, the napkins are not wrapped and the cutlery is not bagged. The olive oil is of inferior quality. The parking is private, free and uncovered. The toilets are simple and clean. The cost-benefit is good. O estacionamento é privativo, gratuito e descoberto. Os toaletes são simples e limpos. O custo x benefício é bom.

(Translated by Google) Extremely poor service. I made a reservation for my graduation celebration. Although the pizzas were delicious, they didn't even make it halfway through. The place was very cramped and disorganized. There were three tables missing when we arrived, and it wasn't even a reservation for that many people—and I made the reservation months in advance and confirmed it on the day of—some rude waiters spilled champagne on a guest and weren't even able to apologize or bring a cloth (they pretended nothing happened). A terrible investment for such a special evening. (Original) Extremamente mal atendidos.

Mentioned on
1 list
Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral São João Batista in Santa Cruz do Sul is a stunning Gothic Catholic temple, considered the largest of its kind in South America. This beautiful cathedral, both inside and out, leaves visitors awe-struck with its grandeur and architectural splendor. It bears a resemblance to the iconic Notre Dame in Paris, albeit on a smaller scale. The church is not only a significant religious landmark but also an ideal place for tranquility and introspection.
What a beautiful cathedral in the heart of San Juan do Sul! It reminded me of a smaller version of the Notre Dame in Paris. Peaceful, beautiful place to clear the mind.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, very clean square, the art in the structures leaves a superior and contemporary beauty. It's worth visiting, spending an afternoon if possible on a sunny day, it should be very beautiful, maybe at night (I didn't go) but if it's well lit it should be very beautiful too. What we miss is bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, unfortunately THERE IS NOTHING.

National park
Nature & Parks
Canion Fortaleza Cambara do Sul is a must-visit destination located in the Serra Geral National Park, just 23 km from the city center. It boasts impressive geological formations with cliffs reaching up to 1,240 meters, offering breathtaking panoramic views of deep valleys, rivers, and even the coastline on clear days. This natural wonder not only showcases stunning beauty but also provides numerous adventure activities for visitors.
Long walk, but worth it! Beautiful place and a must-do in Rio Grande do Sul. Remember to bring a jacket as it is an open place at the top and quite windy!
Caroline S — Google review
Incredible views and beautiful nature! There are great hikes and the canyons are worthwhile seeing from the top and the bottom. Rain can close the hikes through the streams. There is dirt road access to the park entrance at the top that is shorter, or a longer non dirt road route. After the entrance there is a little bit of dirt road to the parking. Once parked, the hikes are amazing!! Loved my time here!
André S — Google review
If you have the opportunity to see the canion, GO! I took a ton of pictures, and I don't think any of those shots does justice. I had my 20lb son strapped to my chest for this hike. I suggest being in good health if you plan to reach to the top. I may not try hiking that for another 10 years when my son can walk himself up that thing. At the top is a view like no other.

Wonderful! A must visit place when you go to Gramado or Canela. You can go through different trails but the Mirante Trail is the most impressive. Beautiful canions and nature.

Super beautiful place, there is a trail to arrive there, but worth every step, once you get there you feel like in the top of the world
Paulo H — Google review
The nature around is just stunning. Best rating for this. We came during the week so it wasn't crowded. But there are other things not working, we cannot give 5 stars. It's serious... Some things you need to know before you come to Cânion Fortaleza, as well as Itaimbrezinho: - make sure you can handle rough roads as a driver. Some parts are still in progress, some are just crazy roads. - there is no official information in English on the website right now. Translate with translator and hope it did its job well. - if you start from Porto Alegre: I recommend to come here by car. There is literally no good option to come here with public transport. Maybe rent one, which can handle rough terrain... - as a foreigner it's not possible to get a license for a drone rn. You cannot register on ANAC without CPF. Just Brazilian citizens have one. A problem that needs to be solved (you can't book a bus online without a cpf as well... How to travel then?) Maybe national offices could at least communicate the local registrations for drones international? Less annoying work for everyone. - you want to do the left way at the waterfall? There is no sign where the trail continues, you have to walk at the guideline which normally marks borders, we asked later, after giving up finding a objectively good path. You're supposed crossing the river close to the edge of the waterfall (you maybe get wet, but bathing is forbidden, lol). That's not a trail, that's adventure without good information, man. You cannot make good decisions for yourself with this. Big saftey issue. Please, take it serious! That's not okay! The company which is responsible for the park at the moment needs to work on several things. - providing more information in general PROACTIVE - if maintaining some trails due to weather conditions etc. isn't possible, you MUST provide these information to all visitors when arriving. With well placed signs etc. Depends on you, but it MUST work. The barely placed wooden planks you put on muddy and wet spots on the trail once are not enough to pass the mud. Visitors are paying a lot of money for the entrance to park infrastructure. So do your work. We were there during the week, I've seen at least 10 people standing idle for a long time, just staring at their mobile phones, not making any attempt to help. We unfortunately don't speak Portuguese, but as a national park maintaining company, working with tourists, you have to give information in English as well. It's international standard, welcome to the 21th century. Without our Portuguese speaking friend translating for us, this trip would have ended in a disaster. PLEASE train your employees. - don't blame the people if they are criticizing valid points. Be professional like estimated and give valid arguments, not your own opinion. Opinion is for private life, not for work. Thanks for reading this review and noticing.
Towi — Google review
Be aware of the entrance charge, which can be pricey if you are planning to pay for the whole family. I won't post the fee here because prices go up pretty often in Brazil. The views are stunning as long as it's not cloudy or rainy. Check the weather forecast before booking any tours!
