Vale Sul Shopping

Mentioned on
6 lists
Shopping mall
Shopping
Vale Sul Shopping is the largest and most diverse shopping center in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. It offers a wide range of designer stores, boutiques, restaurants, and a cinema. The mall features various brand outlets and segments along with health facilities and a gas station. While it may not be the most budget-friendly for international visitors due to higher prices compared to the U.S., it's still an enjoyable place to explore without making big purchases.
Sorry, I didn't went there. Just used as reference to get the approximate distance until a friend's place near the shopping centre.
J. J — Google review
I am impressed by the online presence of this shoe repair shop, which effectively highlights its exceptional products and services via various social media platforms. The consistent and engaging content allows customers to stay updated and informed. It's refreshing to see a business utilizing technology to connect with its audience.
Wesley T — Google review
Nice shopping mall, with a bit of everything. Very big food plaza, with lots of options to choose from, the most famous places are in there. You can find a super market as well as a construction or home renovation store. You arcade gaming. They also have a cinema with lots of options of movie to pick. Lots of places to park your car and sometimes they'll have events happening at the car park.
Bruno S — Google review
It's very basic, it's a simple place full of low budget stores. The cinemas are great, but 99% of the movies shown are dubbed in Portuguese. The bowling alley is nice, great place to eat.
Luis C — Google review
Very organized shopping center with ample parking space. There is a good variety of quality products, a movie theater, and restaurants. The prices are typically more elevated but this is a general rule in shopping centers/malls in Brazil.
Nassim D — Google review
I'm a tourist from the U.S and one of my favorite things to do is to see the difference between malls in different countries. Let's just say Brazilian malls are one of my new favorites. I wasn't there to buy anything so I enjoyed just looking around, however, if you were going to buy something it's not very cheap. Example: a Maybelline mascara costs 80 Reais which, for an American, would be $20.00. I would economize, look around, and maybe buy something small, but don't go there for a shopping spree. The food court is great with several options, but, again, the prices and portions are wild for me as a foreigner. Overall, the mall is pretty and clean and I would come here again just to see the different stores.
Larissa M — Google review
A not so huge space. A congested environment during weekend. Just like other malls the ambience is the same and restaurants as usual are crowded. No English speaking guide and Walmart in it is the added advantage. Walmart is not so big as we normally see but a good place for a one stop shop
Ansari S — Google review
I only didn't give it a 5 star because of it's Pet Policy. Like in many other malls in Brazil pets are allowed in, but in this one you have to carry them on your lap. It is also forbidden to leave your pet at the entrance like many other places allow you to. So, if your pet is a lil fatty like mine, choose a different place to go to. Appart from that, very best mall in town.

Mirante Deck do Banhado

Daniel B — Google review
(Translated by Google) Excellent for admiring the horizon and the landscape in general. However, considering the profile of São José dos Campos, it should be revitalized, taking advantage of the slope of the land, expanding the tiny deck, and building an attached grandstand with the same wooden profile as the deck, offering comfort to those who appreciate this view. Since it would be a hidden location, it would be necessary to install a security camera, ensuring not only security but also order, preventing crime and undesirable behavior from inconvenient people. The City Hall could authorize the construction of a coffee shop/snack bar next to the deck, with public restrooms (paid), separate for men and women. The responsibility for cleaning and maintenance would be outsourced to a third party. Besides the revenue for the merchant, it would offer convenience to deck users who want to enjoy the landscape for longer.

(Translated by Google) We went to see the Smoke Squadron perform. I parked the car far away because I was sure it would be chaos and the road would be closed. We walked along Anchieta Avenue and I was enchanted by the bike path and the scooters that we could rent through an APP. There were a lot of military personnel there because of the event and the municipal guard did a great job too. The place is ideal for families and couples in love because it has a wonderful view and very chic bars and restaurants.

Pedra Partida

(Translated by Google) The Pico da Pedra Partida is the second highest peak in the Monte Verde region and has a beautiful view of much of the Paraíba Valley. The access trail has signs and red ribbons on some trees along the way, especially in places where there might be some doubt. It took us 1 hour to climb the 900m to the top. And on the way back it took us only 40 minutes. At the top there is a sign indicating the altitude and the name, great for photos. The downside is that access is restricted by MOVE, which charges R$35.90 per person. This amount could easily be used for a "single pass" with access to the 5 peaks in the region. This would both attract more tourists and raise the funds needed to improve and preserve the site.

(Translated by Google) The scenery is wonderful and worth the effort. The trail is not well marked, but it is possible to follow the path. If you are not physically fit, the trail takes about 2 to 2.5 hours (don't rush to get there) and has complicated and slippery sections. The trail has 2 viewpoints (close to the final destination). Bring good shoes, water, a shirt and long pants. I recommend leaving in the morning, preferably before 9 am, to avoid the midday sun at the top of the split rock. (Original) Paisagem maravilhosa e vale o esforço.

In some places you can get lost, as the trail is not very well marked (I recommend using a GPS if you go without a guide), but the view is incredible and it is worth the effort. (Translated by Google) The trail is a bit long, with some complicated and steep sections, older people and small children are not advised, in some places you have to climb, and there are many sharp rocks, but nothing that cannot be done, only the strong survive!! It is worth it, stunning views!! (Translated by Google) This trail is a little more difficult than Pedra Rodada, which has stairs and is very short! I don't recommend doing this trail if you have mobility problems, because at times you'll need a little physical strength to get through certain steep and narrow spots... The trail is well marked and not very well marked, with signs at some points and two really cool viewpoints along the way, to recharge your batteries and admire nature! It's possible to get there without any major problems, because during the holiday season, there are always people going to or coming back from the same place as you... If possible, choose to do this trail while there's daylight and good weather, because it's a 40 to 50 minute walk from the fork that separates the Pedra Rodada/Ronda trails. Unmissable! People who give this trail a bad review must not be physically fit and/or may have gone alone... From Pedra Rodada, the second highest point in the region, you can see Pedra Rodada, which was FULL the day I visited!

Unger’s Pottery House is a spacious 3,000 square meter gallery showcasing the ceramic art of Paula Unger and other contemporary Brazilian artists. The indoor and outdoor spaces are adorned with a variety of artistic pieces, making for a delightful exploration. Visitors can admire and purchase unique pottery items, such as the charming pot set that I acquired during my visit. The serene garden area adds to the allure of this place, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery and colorful blooms.
Nice pottery and art pieces; we ended up with some nice purchases. Very good service and atmosphere.

The day we've been there, there was some good sales. We bought a pot set made by ceramic and signed by Miss Unger. It worths to keep liquids like soups warm for a while. The place is pretty much cozy: loads of trees and small flowered bushes . When we got there we spent a lot of time looking around the pleasant garden site seen. I've found at least one problem in there. There's no cafeteria or a place to have some snack and rest the bones. Entrance is free and the local guide is very friendly. We do recommend.

(Translated by Google) The best visit I've ever had in Monte Verde! The house is stunningly beautiful, the artwork is wonderful, the nature is enchanting... It's definitely worth it! We just went to visit, and the lady who welcomed us made us feel completely at ease. We were the only visitors at the time we went, so I was able to see everything at my own pace. The experience was absolutely worth it, even though we didn't buy anything. (Translated by Google) The place is beautiful and well-maintained, the artwork and the surroundings are a bit reminiscent of a wing of Inhotim. There are products for all budgets, and it's nice that it's open to the public free of charge. There's a staff member on duty at all times, but that's normal. She helps answer questions and keeps an eye on things, as there are several small, high-value items, including gold. So if you go, avoid carrying a backpack and touching the artwork. Now, there are two downsides: there's not much information about parking. It's like a gated community, so you don't know if you're allowed in. The street isn't the widest, and there could be more parking information. And finally, I know it's not just the establishment's fault, but the dirt road to get there is terrible. They should ask the city to improve these access points. Imagine on rainy days...

Such a beautiful place with kind-hearted staff! I’m not a local and didn’t know that they only accept cash and Pix, and since my card was international they couldn’t accept it. The girl selling tickets let me in for free and covered my parking as well. Such a simple yet kind act, it was genuinely the highlight of my day! The plants and gardens were beautiful, and I felt very peaceful afterwards. I would recommend this place to everyone!

The place is gorgeous, but quite expensive for full ticket payers. The visit lasts around 1.5h

This park was absolutely beautiful and worth the 40 Reis entrance fee. The gardens were all well-maintained. The views of the surrounding valleys were spectacular. It's an easy stroll through the park, and there's even a maze to navigate through. There are various plants to see and coy fish in the ponds. And there's a tree house you can visit. You only need 1-2 hours total to see everything. The employees were nice, but it may be difficult to find someone that speaks English.

They have good tree house.. and nice place to take a walk with family, unfortunately every garden doesn’t really represent the country mentioned. Only Japanese garden and Chinese garden that bit represent their own country.

Absolutely wonderful botanical gardens. The location is amazing, with plenty of beautiful scenery. From the treehouse to hedge maze, there is a lot to occupy half a day. I was impressed with how well it was maintained and the variety of plants. The price was reasonable for what you get to see. Also, there is a student discount if you show your student ID. Highly recommend Amantikir Park; it is a must see if you are in the area.

Boa Vista Palace, a former governor's residence in winter, now serves as a museum showcasing historical objects and art alongside contemporary works. The palace offers guided tours on specific days, so it's recommended to book in advance. Built in the European style, the palace boasts a vast area worth exploring. On weekends, it attracts many visitors with highly knowledgeable guides sharing its history and significance within the state government.
It's a wonderful building. You can see art and building from different times, from 18th century chests to nowadays paintings. The place is a must go to any lover of art or/and history. Outside the building there's a garden which is the only place you can take pictures of, and it's very beautiful too.

Watch out for the timing. The place is mostly closed and has a restricted entrance up to 30 people every 30 minutes. It closes if there's rain or the street is wet. It's very hard to coordinate. Nice the palace is like a French chatu of the 17th century is a copy I would say but the system is not very efficient to take visits as you have to go in person should be via internet like all other places in the town are this makes it difficult to visit and becomes a poor quality service and poor efficiency in today's days.

Waterfalls
Ducha de Prata is a popular tourist spot in Campos do Jordao, featuring man-made waterfalls and showers accessible via wooden decks. The water supply comes directly from the natural waterfalls of Ribeirao de Perdizes. Visitors can stroll along the wooden bridges, listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall, and explore nearby souvenir stalls offering various items such as clothing, chocolates, and crafts.
Another tourist attraction in Campos de Jordão and one of the best for sure. A small waterfall with walking areas and platforms designed to get the best picture possible. Lots of small shops and restaurants around as well as tourism buses departing and arriving here. On the low side there is lack of toilets, so if you have the urge, you need to use one of the tiny ones located within the restaurants around.

Nice place to visit. Destination for a lot of tour buses, so it was pretty busy when we were there. Lots of shops selling the usual tourist fare. The water was pretty and interesting. We did not find any actual trails to hike, which would have been nice and would have gotten us away from the crowds. There is parking but it was pretty full when we were there.

Overlooking Campos do jordoan, beautiful European style town right in brazil. You can take a "ski lift" type ride up or down to the overlook. Couple of little shops and food vendors so you can spend a little extra time enjoying the view. The photos are what so much of the home, hotels, shops and restaurants are like.

Beautiful view in a place that could get potential to be better. We climbed to the elephant's hill using the scared cable car, I believe its was created with the city and never modernized. My husband, who is Canadian, liked the experience more than I did. He was scared but he found excited at the same time. I think that because I have already been to Campos do Jordão several times, I think at this point the city, which seems to be very rich looking at the hotels in the area and people who frequent it, should have already renovated that a long time ago and have made something much better and more attractive, as the other countries that have mountains for Ski. I think don’t need to be exactly the same, but Mount Tremblant in Quebec also has a small area up hill and its not so fancy, but little more attractive and safe. Anyway, the view is very beautiful and we can see the whole city, mountains and part of the other surrounding regions. When we get up there again, the attractions could be much more elaborate and modernized giving opportunity to locals to get better jobs, show a nicer view and give to the city, locals and visitors a better structure. I think the place with elephants is a good idea, especially for children, but they could modernize it and charge a little for the entrance to maintain the place. They also could make a kind of a little mall where people could expose their crafts making their products more attractive and a nice cafe or restaurant with a lookout ... Anyway, use a little of the American style of exposing your business, which could be better for everybody. If I had money to invest, that unfortunately is not the case at the moment, I would probably organize people and get that changed for the benefit of all city and visitors. Grade: Eli = 3, Serge = 3 Recommend: It’s worth for the Mountain View.

A nice park to walk around. There are several short hikes. We really enjoyed Trilha dos campos (3km), which takes you up to good views and also winds along the river for a stretch. It was bigger than o ever imagined. It’s like an entire city, it takes hours to walk around and be able to appreciate every detail. Lots of stores inside and restaurants. With the Covid-19 restrictions, we couldn’t see more of the inside details but it was worth it. They have mass every hour and multiple locations as well. I loved it. Perfect to buy gifts and there more attractions outside the Basilica as well. The entire city is filled with attractions and even the cities nearby.

The parish priest tried to prevent a large flock of faithful to pray the Holy Rosary in front of the church. This had been announced days in advance. Instead he purposely rang all of the church bells, to make so much noise that nobody could understand a word - it was a wonderful experience to pray the Holy Rosary under such circumstance, against the orders of the pastor! *Shame on this parish pastor!*

However, I believe that because there are so many models, the tour with high school students is too quick! They quickly and mechanically tell the stories portrayed in the works, leaving us no time to contemplate them. We must value youth in this type of work, but it seems like there's a lack of better supervision (as well as financial resources—they accept donations). It's worth checking out. Train station
Transportation
Railways
Embark on a delightful journey aboard the Trem da Serra da Mantiqueira, located in the charming city of Passa Quatro, MG. This scenic train ride is pulled by the iconic steam locomotive Maria Fume and offers a round trip lasting about two hours. Along the way, you'll encounter breathtaking landscapes perfect for capturing memorable photos.
(Translated by Google) The Serra Train is a steam train operated by ABPF - Brazilian Association for Railway Preservation and is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Passa Quatro. The route is approximately 10 km long and the train departs from Passa Quatro station to Coronel Fulgêncio station, at the top of Serra da Mantiqueira, every Saturday and Sunday and on some holidays, also on Friday. Some stories are told along the way, as well as a singer with voice and guitar interprets classics of MPB and sertanejo music. The train makes its first stop at Manacá station, where the steam is increased for the ascent of the mountain and tourists can visit to buy handicrafts, sweets, honey and other treats. The end of the route is at Coronel Fulgêncio station, where passengers can see a photo exhibition telling a little about JK, who before becoming a politician was a captain in the Minas Gerais Military Police and treated many people injured in the fighting between the people of Minas Gerais and São Paulo during the 1932 revolution. Many photos of this movement can be found at this station, which is very close to the Mantiqueira Tunnel, on the border between the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, and the scene of the biggest battles of the 1932 revolution, in which the people of Minas Gerais emerged as the big winners. The entrance fee is relatively expensive, R$90.00 per person, and it is best to book in advance.

The Maria Fumaça train is very well maintained, with a ramp for wheelchair access. The bathroom at one of the stations is very popular because it is tiny. In my opinion, the price could be a little more affordable to attract more passengers. We went as a family, 7 people, and since it was January (promotion) we paid half the price, 90 reais per person... This spectacular ride certainly needs some improvements, but that doesn't detract from the tour in any way. On the contrary, it's worth highlighting the work of these people in keeping part of our history alive! The ride takes about 2 hours round trip, leaving from the city of Passa Quatro to the tunnel that borders the state of São Paulo, which is also an important piece of Brazilian history. Children love the ride on the train pulled by a steam locomotive (the famous Maria Fumaça). I recommend buying tickets in advance, as they always sell out, as they only run on weekends!

There are parking spaces around the station with easy access. After booking, you need to go to the ticket office at the station and pick up your ticket, which is very nice. Payment methods accepted at the ticket office: Cash/credit and debit cards. There are clean bathrooms at the station! My family and I went on Sunday, boarding at 10 am. When boarding, the super polite and charismatic employees tell you about what the tour will be like, as well as the stations where they stop, which are Manacá and Coronel Fulgêncio. Along the way, they tell you interesting facts about the tour and there is a singer who livens up the entire route, who sings very well and entertains the crowd! At the stops, there are bathrooms and stalls selling sweets, drinks, and crafts. At the last station, Coronel Fulgêncio, the guide takes us to the stage of the revolution, the tunnel that connects the cities of Passa Quatro and Cruzeiro. To get to the tunnel, we walk a few meters. I recommend wearing warm clothing and comfortable shoes! Finally, the train makes its turn and we return to the station. Throughout the ride, we are privileged by a beautiful view and lots of nature!!! I recommend the ride. Nature & Parks
St. Lawrence Water Park is a serene resort with mineral waters, beautiful gardens, and various sports facilities. Visitors can enjoy the calm atmosphere, take leisurely walks, and have peaceful conversations while admiring the lovely nature and interacting with ducks at the lake. The park offers different types of mineral spring water from distinct fountains, each with its own unique taste and health benefits. It is well-managed and provides good services such as those offered by the house of Bath.
It is a very beautiful area in the center of the city with a wonderful pond and nature area. You need to buy a ticket at the entrance but there are many options. There are many different animals and fruits inside. There are also natural spring waters that are only available in two places in the world (the other is in France), you can fill your bottle and drink (7 different sources & 9 different water sources) You can also rent pedal or motorized water vehicles here or use walking balloons. You can spend hours in this huge park and have a pleasant time listening to nature. There are also some playgrounds and cafeterias. If you pass by, I recommend you to visit, the heart of the city ♥️🇧🇷🌴

Beautiful water park, it has some small disadvantages. I really like that the park is wel maintained and looks good. However, for a water park the water fountains are sometimes a bit far apart. Also, this park has many water fountains with extremely metallic flavours. The park has many nice places to sit and relax to enjoy the beauty of the water park. The park has a restaurant, but that restaurant is not good, so I would not go. Parking is difficult close to the water park. Infront you can just park for teo hours, so you have to park further away. Inside there are also some nice shops with sweets and even an art gallery. For kids there are plenty of places to play in the park. The park consists out of two areas that are connected by a tunnel. The older park is more beautiful in my opinion. You can also rent several types of boats to go on the lake. Compared to other water parks you can not go out for lunch and come back with the same ticket. This is different from the English description at the entrance that clearly says that you just have to pay once per day, but that is not true. Overall, it is a great place to visit but with some small negative points.

Parque Nacional do Itatiaia

Park
Itatiaia National Park, Brazil's first national park, boasts a diverse range of landscapes from dense rainforests to rugged peaks. The lower section offers accessible trails leading to waterfalls and natural swimming holes, while the remote high country provides excitement for serious hikers and climbers. Visitors can enjoy abundant flora and fauna including orchids, monkeys, and tropical birds. Accessing the upper portion may require a high-clearance vehicle due to challenging roads.
Wonderful national park at Itataia. It's possible to visit the park on foot, bike or by car. Visitors entering the park by car must pay an extra fee (around R$ 24,00) to take it's paved and non paved roads on a motored vehicle. The activities available at the park for visitors range from a beautiful cultural centre with many historical highlights, track trails in a rich forest terrain, magnificent waterfalls to admire and freshen up, numerous bird watching spots, and exuberant viewpoints of the Mantiqueira Mountain and it's wildlife. The difficulty of tracks may vary a lot. Upon entry on the park, visitors are given a detailed map, which shows what's possible to do whilst visiting the site. The park is basically divided into a lower and an upper part. The most demanding tracks, which are also those that one needs to plan in advance, are located in the upper part of park. In those areas, it's possible to camp on designated areas or stay for the night at one of the park's lodging houses (reservation in advance needed). In the park's website, there are lots of information for visitors, and high definition pdf maps for downloading, as well as a list of well trained guides on the park whenever the need arises. It's not possible to park in any spot by the road, the permitted parking areas will be sign posted. All around the park, it's possible to see restaurants, hotels and other private properties, which means there's no time available to do everything you'll find at the park. It's a highly recommended visit, and a place not to forget.

It's beautiful and have some nice stores for local food, but i really thought that it would be bigger and have some more attractions

Funny and entertaining, walk around and find Christmas in the middle of an almost Brazil. Opened is definitely a different place to go to.

A miniature of Santa's town in the city of Penedo. The city is known for being a touristic city with major finnish heritage. This specific spot's audience are probably children and families.

Quite a climb, but well worth it, especially the smaller cachoeiras on the way up.

Waterfall of the Garcias - Low

Love the waterfalls. Crystal clear water. After finishing our 4 days of Travessia from Baependi, I took my shower here. It was damn cold and freezing. The steps to the waterfalls are well established. There are several places small ponds where even kids can enjoy the water.

Freaking cold water!!! A must go on a hot day. Also check out the other creek across the Rd. There is a human access point through fence and follow trail down to grotto swimming hole. The water temp is so much warmer!
