Ok mall but lacks shops, food hall has a variety of places to eat.
Greg T — Google review
It isn't big but has very interesting shops with something peculiar. It is good for a walk and good for travellers that are passing by Juiz de Fora as there are many good food options. From Mac something to good restaurants. The only negative point I noticed on my visit, is that the parking is not good for medium to big size cars. A big SUV like Mercedes G class, Chevrolet Silverado or Ford F250 are going to use two lots.
Sérgio M — Google review
Great area, many good stores. I missed more variety of stores, but you can find most of the big stores of the country

Fazenda do Paraízo

Farm
Sights & Landmarks
This is a very well preserved farm from 1845 that used to produce coffee. The first owner was Domingos Custódeo Guimarães or Viscount of Rio Preto (Black River Viscount). The actual owners belongs to the second family of owners of this farm. Mrs. Simone and her husband keep the place preserved as it was in the century the farm was built. Everything is kept original, the furniture, the paintings, decoration... Is like going in the past. I can say it is one of the best preserved farms from the time that coffee was considered an investment good as gold. To visit this farm, you have to schedule your visit by phone. The price is about US$10.00, it is not expensive due to the knowledge of the owners about the farm history and their sympathy. It is easy to find a place to park in the farm, don't worry about this.

(Translated by Google) Impressive. Jaw-dropping. The entire structure, masonry, decoration and furniture are original from the mid-19th century. A highlight is the original coffee processing machinery, driven by hydraulic force, assembled in 1868 and produced in 1868 in New York, USA. It cannot be compared to any farm in the Vale do Café region in Vassouras and surrounding areas: all the others have already undergone major renovations and are no longer original. (Original) Impressionante.

(Translated by Google) By car, approximately 8 minutes from downtown Rio das Flores. The place preserves the yard where coffee was spread out to dry and the machines that came from the United States to produce it. In February 2025, I took a guided tour (R$100.00 per person) inside the "big house" which, because it is inhabited by the current owners, cannot be photographed or filmed. The environment preserves details from the 19th century, and the furniture helps to recall a sad period in our history when human beings were kept as slaves to take care of the big house, the farm of barons who exploited black people. The main house is a true museum. You can take pictures of the outside. It is well worth the visit.

It is a natural park in Minas Gerais state. The park is wonderful, full of sedimentary rocks and natural vegetation, some streams and caves. You can trail everywhere there and have fun in contact with nature. I also recommend going to "janela do céu" (window of the sky), which is a very long walking trail. It is tiring, but worth the visit. About the park itself, I do recommend it.

Make no mistake my friends, this is one of the greatest places to visit at least once in your lifetimes. It's not simple or easy to get to, and some of the trails are definitely not for beginners, but it's worth every little drop of sweat to climb up to the window of the sky (janela do céu) and enjoy the unique experience this place has to offer. It's ao marvelous it's almost mystic.

(Translated by Google) Casa da Hera belonged to Joaquim José Teixeira Leite, a coffee commissioner in the region. The house was built in the first half of the 19th century and Joaquim bought it to live in with his future wife, Ana Esméria Pontes França. The two lived with their two daughters on the property. Eufrasia Teixeira Leite is the only sister portrayed in the house and, after her death in 1930, she left the house and the lands of the farm were inherited by the Institute of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Today, it is managed by IBRAM. The house is very well preserved and the tour is guided, and it is advisable to book in advance; however, you can leave your name at the reception and wait for the next group of visitors. The preserved furniture and rooms serve as illustration for the guide's account, which tells the whole story in detail. It is a journey through Brazil's past and tells a little about the importance of coffee and the luxurious life of the barons in the times of the big house and the sensation. The gardens on the property are worth a visit and the bamboo tunnel is a must-see! There are also dolls in the outdoor area that pay homage to Mariana Crioula and Manuel Congo, who led the slave rebellion in Vassouras, the largest in the Paraíba Valley. The guided tour of the house and the tour of the property are free and well worth it. No food or drink is sold on site. There are bathrooms.

Túnel Maria Nossar (Túnel que Chora) is a significant historical site in the Vale do Café, inaugurated in the presence of the imperial family for the purpose of creating a railway to transport coffee. This tunnel, like many other structures in the area, was built by slaves using rough stone and measures 95m long, 5m wide, and 3.5m high. Its peculiar name "Tunnel that Cries" raises curiosity about its origins.

A farm is great for those who like it...the city is very small, but I liked it too, my sister and I lived on our grandmother's farm when we were little...so we were fulfilled. The farm is wonderful, a true historical and cultural treasure. The room we stayed in was well equipped, very clean and spacious. Not to mention the pool area, a well-kept space with green areas all around with a super clean and fragrant sauna. The farm is almost 200 years old and is very well preserved, preserving a slave quarters where you can learn a little more about the slavery period. The guided tour is excellent. (Translated by Google) The waterfall itself is really cool, with different spots with pools and waterfalls. I went on the first weekend of winter and at 2pm the sun was already gone. There are restaurants and private parking next to the waterfall (we paid 25.00). Note: I went on a holiday and it was really crowded. We waited 40 minutes for a space to appear in the parking lot. Ficamos 40min aguardando surgir vaga no estacionamento.

(Translated by Google) Such a beautiful place! Access isn't difficult; my car is a Palio and I made it up without any trouble! But the road is unpaved, so be careful. I thought the parking was expensive, but since it's a tourist attraction, we end up paying... The waterfall is beautiful and you can visit several points! Definitely worth a visit! (Original) Lugar lindo demais!

(Translated by Google) Mandatory slide! The Slide Waterfall really provides an experience of sliding down the rock in the middle of the river. Apparently safe, children and adults can have a lot of fun. Parking costs 20.00, with no option to park on the street. Several restaurants and bars along the way, as well as street vendors. Even though there is no slide, the place is very cool to enjoy nature. You can go up the river quite a bit before the waterfall, it is worth exploring (Original) Escorrega obrigatório!

(Translated by Google) A wonderful view! You can take great photos. We went in winter so we didn't venture into the water (it was very cold). But it's still worth the visit! Listening to the sound of the water is soothing. (Original) Uma vista maravilhosa! (Translated by Google) The water is very cold, but it's a calm waterfall. It's close to the parking lot, so you don't have to walk far. As of November 22, 2025, parking costs R$25. There are other parking lots beforehand, but you have to walk a bit further. Park
Itatiaia National Park, Brazil's first national park, boasts a diverse range of landscapes from dense rainforests to rugged peaks. The lower section offers accessible trails leading to waterfalls and natural swimming holes, while the remote high country provides excitement for serious hikers and climbers. Visitors can enjoy abundant flora and fauna including orchids, monkeys, and tropical birds. Accessing the upper portion may require a high-clearance vehicle due to challenging roads.
Wonderful national park at Itataia. It's possible to visit the park on foot, bike or by car. Visitors entering the park by car must pay an extra fee (around R$ 24,00) to take it's paved and non paved roads on a motored vehicle. The activities available at the park for visitors range from a beautiful cultural centre with many historical highlights, track trails in a rich forest terrain, magnificent waterfalls to admire and freshen up, numerous bird watching spots, and exuberant viewpoints of the Mantiqueira Mountain and it's wildlife. The difficulty of tracks may vary a lot. Upon entry on the park, visitors are given a detailed map, which shows what's possible to do whilst visiting the site. The park is basically divided into a lower and an upper part. The most demanding tracks, which are also those that one needs to plan in advance, are located in the upper part of park. In those areas, it's possible to camp on designated areas or stay for the night at one of the park's lodging houses (reservation in advance needed). In the park's website, there are lots of information for visitors, and high definition pdf maps for downloading, as well as a list of well trained guides on the park whenever the need arises. It's not possible to park in any spot by the road, the permitted parking areas will be sign posted. All around the park, it's possible to see restaurants, hotels and other private properties, which means there's no time available to do everything you'll find at the park. It's a highly recommended visit, and a place not to forget.

A completely different environment if you use the north west entrance. Warning the 12km road can be very bad. Warning 2: Arrive early the last entrance is around 2pm. You must leave the park by 5pm. This may change during they year so it is best to chemo in advance.
