Best hot springs near Machu Picchu. The water is clear and there are several pools each a different temperature. The pool with the natural cliff has trees that create shade when the sun is most intense around noon and early afternoon. Price is s/10 soles for international travelers with discounts for locals. Open 5am to 6pm but if there are a lot of people they'll stay open to 7pm.

We enjoyed the hot springs. Clean bathrooms and changing areas. The 5 pools graduate in heat but hottest is not super hot.

Great warm pools at the end of a pretty hard days walking. Eased the strain if the trail before taking on board some liquids at the bars nearby. Only down side was the steps in the pool are almost invisible to the naked eye and the bottom of the pools is a sort of rough surface. Bit rough for my delicate toes is all. But I can't bring to mind any other warm springs with as good a backdrop.

Amazing place! It’s not very crowded now (December), it’s cheap (10 soles = 2.5$ / 1.5h) and it’s a perfect spot to relax after exhausting Salkantay Trek. I spent there a very nice morning and would definitely repeat it. 100% recommended, when you are in Santa Teresa don’t miss it!

Be sure to shower first. Then again if the waters start to feel just warm. At first the cold springs feel freezing but you get used to it after a minute or so. Facility is nice. The water is not hot though. It's lukewarm. Plus the area is landslide prone so yea... maybe reconsider going if you're doing the Salkantay trek.

This mirador really is a wonderful destination and is so close to Ayacucho's city center! We went early in the morning on a weekday and fortunately (in our minds) all of the tourist attractions (carnival/restaurant/event space) were closed and we basically had the place to ourselves. If you plan to walk, you definitely should prepare to go straight up various flights of stairs. There are roads along the way if you want to break up your ascent and go sideways for a bit. Also, you may want to bring something to protect you from the wind; when we went, there wasn't a cloud in the sky but it was definitely chilly. A few things that I liked were that it wasn't overly religious like a lot of other overlooks, and there were various different places to take pictures, very photo-friendly. I also appreciated that it was free!

They have a QR code on the wall that you can use to listen to descriptions in English. They also have written translations on most exhibits. Don't be fooled by the appearance of this museum: the Museo Regional de Ica "Adolfo Bermúdez Jenkins" has a small but excellent collection of artifacts that will give you a good impression of ancient Peruvian cultures. The museum was founded in 1946 by Fernando León de Vivero, Alejandro Pezzia and its namesake Adolfo Bermúdez Jenkins and it was the first museum in Peru to carry out paleontological studies of the archeological remains of indigenous cultures. Between 2011 and 2016, the museum's interior was thoroughly reorganized. The very interesting collection makes a visit definitely worth it!

A really cute park in the town of Ica, Peru that reminded us of the roadside attractions throughout the US in the 50s and 60s, like the largest ball of string, or a cafe that looks like a shoe. Ica is a beautiful pueblito in Peru that has alot of "folksy" attractions. This is representative of that genre. A great little tourist attraction that does not cost anything. I have attached some photos, and a couple of the town nearby. The town was struck by an earthquake a few years ago and is still recovering.

The photos show it all. There are only a few like it in the world. It's in the middle of nowhere in Ica and difficult to find, but it was neat to see! There are good restaurants around. The palms only take like 3-5 minutes to marvel at.

There are only two of this ‘palmeira’ in the world. The other one stays in Africa. It is quite curious how one root of 50m can supplies for 7 big branches.

Few hundred year old palm, multiple trunks, magnificent site. It takes about 5 minutes to appreciate it and that is it, nothing else around. There is space for parking.

Do a little tour with the lady's there, but Spanish is needed. They guide you through the park. Really nice!

The park is rather small, but the history of it is worth hearing. The sculptures of the witches are really interesting to see.

Very interesting place to visit in Peru. A wide selection of tasty vines and a good way of tasting them. The prices of dishes in the restaurant are a bit too high for what you get. The taste is okey. The place, if busy, that is most of the time, can be a little noisy and the service in the restaurant doesn't seem to manage it all well.

Cool pisco sour distillery. I wish they gave more samples however. The pisco tasting wad super cheaply done. Not the same experience as wine tasting so I don't recommend it

I'm not sure the name of this restaurant is still the same. But, this is where we stopped during our excursion. When we got here, the place was empty. However, soon after we were seated, the restaurant quickly filled up. I'm guessing this is where all excursions met for food and wine tasting. The service was prompt, especially for our party consisting of 13, very diverse people. We all placed our orders and had our food soon after. We had the Chicharron de Cerdo, Chicharron de Pollo, and the Fettucine with Lomo Saltado. All dishes came with salsa criollo, ricotto. Along with some French fries. The food was good and simply prepared, letting the product speak for itself. For me, the star of the meal was the Chicharron de Pollo! Each bite had so much flavor. The atmosphere was pretty laid back, even though it got pretty busy. The wine tasting consisted of 4 wines and 2 or 3 pisco varieties. Everything was pretty tasty. Be advised that using the restroom here is different than in the United States. For one, there are no paper seat covers for your convenience. Also, toilet paper is not available inside of the stalls. The toilet paper is actually outside of the stall, and you have to get as much as you will need. Additionally, do not flush any paper down the toilet.

Free tour with Peru Hop. Interesting to know the difference between worldwide wine producers. We had free wine and pisco tasting as well, no hard selling from staff, we bought 2 bottles as these were excellent value. No credit card charges from merchant.

Just outside of Ica, Peru, you can find an authentic distillery for Pisco, a national Peruvian favorite. The tour is an excellent introduction into the production of this wine. The distillation process is explained and after the tour we were all treated to samples of Pisco products, including some made with locally grown fruits. We bought 3 bottles! Please be aware that several months later the fruity varieties have separated and will not re-mix. Hence, took off a star.

Went here as part of our peru hop stop and loved the little lady who took us on the tour around the place and gave us some samplings of their products. Very informative and tasty! Make sure to try their ice creams!

We stopped here with Peru hop. Often at stops like this you feel guilt tripped into buying, but El Catador was awesome. They give you so many testers so you can try before you buy or try simply for the experience. They gave us a short but sweet tour of how they make their Pisco and wine which was really interesting, our guide was amazing, super funny and informative. A good place to stop over and stretch your legs.

Beautiful and large winery! Drive in was a little sketchy on a tiny dirt road, all of the sudden you get to a big gate for the winery complex. We took the 1 hour tour, would’ve loved to do the full tour but they said they don’t have any English speaking guide for that, which is unfortunate, they should’ve specified this on their website. The complex and tour was nice, however the tour guide wasn’t very passionate at all.

I visited Tacama Winery with my parents and we had a very pleasant experience. The wine tasting with their sommelier was excellent with a good variety of wines which were all very good. The sommelier was friendly and explained a lot about the different types of wines and the tasting process in general. The stay in their restaurant was great aswell, with good food and good service. Also the tour around the winery itself, the guide and another small tasting were very enjoyable experiences and I personally learned a lot about wine making, the assortments of grapes and the history of Tacama Winery. Overall the personal is very well organised, the place is beautiful and the service is excellent. Of course their wines are just as good. Thanks for the amazing time

I had the best red wine I’ve had in my life here- el gran tinto. The causas were literally *chefs kiss*. There are different types of tours, and the traditional takes you through the wine making process as well as 3 cups of wine and one of pisco.

Amazing experience! We celebrated the 30th birthday of one of us here during our stay in Perù. Not only the food was amazing, but the wine as well (both the White and Red wines were superb, comparable in taste and uniqueness to our Italians wines). We also received an unexpected present for the birthday! We would like to thank especially Raphael who was super expert in explaining all the different wines and food and made us appreciate 100% the lunch. We really would like to buy wines online to Italy from this winery.

Beautiful winery. The food was overly abundant and excellent. Ordering a bottle of wine with dinner came with custom explanation of aeration and decanting. The tour was insightful but wished the choice of wines for tasting ranged better across the dry to sweets.

A very nice experience of some wine tasting and learning about the wine making. Our guide wasn't the most passionate and could have been more engaging. The wine wasn't to my liking, but each to their own! Come here for a lovely day out and I hope you find a wine that takes your breathe away!

Splendid place to visit in Ica, one of the very first winery in South America. Love the place, which I could share more photos. I was stunningly attached to the guide and histories 😂 without realizing that none of any photo has taken. Food was ok but love the place so 5 star is for “la hacienda” ❤️❤️❤️

On Sunday it was crowded but with many restaurants and a very pleasant temperature in the shade around the lake it was a nice place to be. Don't miss taking a dune buggy ride - the drivers are skilled, safety conscious and will accommodate those looking for a more sedate ride. The dunes are magical.

Although quite touristic, it's still a beautiful spot thay is worth visiting. We also stayed two nights in there which made us connect deeper with the oasis. There are several nice restaurants and activities, so it's really worthwhile.

Magical desert oasis! An incredible place surrounded by golden dunes, where you can relax by the lagoon, enjoy sandboarding, or take a buggy tour to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. The atmosphere is lively, with many restaurants and bars around. Definitely one of the most unique and beautiful spots in Peru!

This was such a fun experience! This was my first time sand boarding and I had the time of my life!!! It was money well spent. I booked it for an hour and that was enough for me, I couldn't imagine being up there for longer and not having a bathroom. I had to pee so bad, I'm surprised that I didn't pee on myself during that hour especially during the buggy rides.

This was AMAZING. I scuba dive and skydive but the thrill and the rush of those rides are like no other. Love it.

The town is so random. It's in the middle of nowhere in the Peru desert, but Huacachina Hostels and Tours take advantage of that. They offer a great overnight tour that includes taking dune bugs and having an awesome time. They'll stop at a large dune and let you sand ski down it. You'll get caked in sand, but it's worth it. The guide then makes you a great Peruvian meal over a fire. It's a GREAT time!

Spectacular tour. Overwhelmed by the abilities of these ancient people. I'm sure the climate wasn't as harsh as it is now, but if it was, how did they survive the heat, lack of plantable soil and remoteness.

Fascinating archaeological site! The Inca Tambo Colorado ruins are very well preserved and give a great glimpse into Inca architecture and history in the coastal desert. The colors of the walls and the structure are impressive — definitely worth a visit if you love history and culture.

For the small entry cost (5 soles) this was an amazing place to visit and see the well preserved incan ruins. Guide Alex Arenas was very knowledgeable and did a great job of making the past come back to life for us!

Amazing ruins that no one seems to know about. This is a good thing because you have full access to all the areas. You can still see some of the original Incan paint on the walls.
