Very nice beach, great amount of places to eat, book some trip, buy bikini etc. Bear in mind that it’s very touristic
Nina — Google review
Very friendly place. Nice restaurants and good beaches
Dror L — Google review
I felt sorry of the ocean, full of chairs, umbrella, tables on the beach and food stalls, so commercial. and many rubbish, cigarettes 🚬, plastic stuff, and the water has floating oil and ting rubbish that's really disgusting. I understand why the beach provide shower for tourists because the water is polluted. I think this beach is over rated.
Daisy C — Google review
At low tide you can access the coral pools from the beach for snorkeling. Choice of being in a quieter or busier part of the beach. Laid back brazilian crowd so no need to dress up in town or obmn the beach.
Carlo P — Google review
I never felt unsafe here. Hot weather, nice bars, quite modern. Easy to reach from Recife. I also never felt alone because at every millimeter of the beach there is a "businessman" available selling almost everything you need. The area is also a Digital Nomad hot spot.

Love this place. My favorite beach is Dolphins Bay. Highly recommended. I also recommend trying surf lessons at love beach.
Caue G — Google review
Nice beach, it can't be denied, but nevertheless very overrated. In the water, beware of numerous sharp stones. There are many much more beautiful places in the 20km area. However, the plus side of this is that there are many restaurants and pubs, so for someone who prefers comfort over views this place is certainly better.
European G — Google review

Best place in rio grande do norte. Paradisiac beaches and amazing good vibes. Very safe compared to rest of the cities. You can walk safely at any time without having to worry about assault. A place you HAVE to visit!
Lander — Google review
Wonderful place, with a warm welcoming by the locals. Beautiful beaches for surfing or just a nice dive into the sea. You can find cheap places to eat or if you want something fancy you can find it too.
J D — Google review
Pipa is a beautiful beach, when we visited over the Xmas holidays it was very clean and looked taken care of. In my opinion, it's best to arrive there early in the day when the water is at low tide. Then you have more time to explore or just sit in the many pools of sea water. In the afternoon the tide returns and pretty soon there is nowhere to sit as the beach floods. There's a variety of places that serve food and drinks, as well as many sellers that set up shop on the beach selling food, drinks and souvenirs. Most of these sellers are cash only so be prepared. Bars and restaurants take cash, debit, and credit cards.

Sights & Landmarks
Morro da Urca, also known as Urca Hill, is a popular hiking destination in Rio de Janeiro. The mountain stands at 722 feet and offers stunning views of the city and the sea. The 2-mile trail takes about 1.5 hours to complete and features beautiful flora and wooden stairs along the way. At around 200 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy a unique dining experience at the 200 QUOTA restaurant, accessed by cable car.
In my personal opinion, the view from Urca is even more beautiful than Pão de Açúcar (although they're both breathtaking!) I do recommend avoiding the restaurant on Morro, it was overpriced with awful food. Spend your time taking in the gorgeous scenery!
Elinor A — Google review
A once in a lifetime experience. Make sure to go on it with a tour.
Chelsea T — Google review
The view here is totally beautiful. Look at Rio from a wide angle view is breathtaking. There was a party there when I visited, so it’s even a better experience for me.

Ben B — Google review
Amazing view of the whole Rio. On a sunny day you can see even Cristo Redentor
Ania P — Google review
The Morro da Urca/Pão de Açucar (Sugarloaf) Hike is a great alternative to the cable cars. The Morro da Urca/Sugarloaf (Pão de Açucar) Hike starts at the beautiful idyllic beach, known as Praia Vermelho (the Red Beach). You begin hiking a short paved path along the base of Morro da Urca before you ascend the tree root staircase to the top of Morro da Urca. Along the path up you will have a great chance of seeing the buffy-tufted marmoset or white-eared marmoset. After about half an hour you will reach a mini plateau or saddle which offers you a beautiful view over Botafogo bay and Flamengo. The last 15 minutes take you to the top of Morro da Urca where you will have spectacular views over the entire city of Rio. You will continue our trip with a breath-taking cable car ride to the top of sugarloaf for even more panoramic and picturesque views. You have to buy your tickets before you hike to take advantage of the cable cars. You cannot buy them at the top. End your day with a classic appetizer and beverage on the Urca wall near Bar da Urca, a popular destination for locals taking in the sunset. Hike: Moderate Time: 1.5 hours round trip; 45 minutes with cable car
Ryan S — Google review
Beautiful views when a nice day. There is also a lot of things up on both mountains which I was quite surprised at! It would of been nice to keep it at just the cable car and a viewing platform but I guess it appeals to tourists.

Sugarloaf Mountain

Mentioned on

Mountain peak
Sights & Landmarks
Sugarloaf Mountain, a 396m-tall peak on a peninsula with sweeping views and accessible by cableway, is one of the most iconic rocks in the world. It offers breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro from its peak and is accessible by a thrilling glass-walled cable car journey. Additionally, visitors can enjoy an Instagram-worthy breakfast at Parque Gloria Maria with views of Guanabara Bay and Sugarloaf Mountain.
One of the places you must visit as a tourist in Rio. The journey to the peak is in two stages, both via cable cars. The queues move quickly and the journeys are smooth. Preferential access is available for wheelchair users. The primary reason for visiting is the views, although my visit was on a very misty day and opportunities were limited. There are plenty of toilets and places for refreshments. Also upmarket souvenir stalls. Still worth visiting on a misty day!
David S — Google review
Very good attraction. It gets really busy so be prepared to be pushing and shoving. Everybody is trying to get the best spot to record the videos. They do have nice foods and souvenir shop on top of the mountain. There is always entertainment going on like live music.
Mohammed M — Google review
Sugarloaf in Rio offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, beaches, and mountains, absolutely worth the visit. The cable car ride is smooth and scenic. It can get very crowded, especially during peak hours, so try to go early or on a weekday. There are a few shops and places to grab a snack at the top, but prices are a bit high. Still, the overall experience is unforgettable and a must-do while in Rio!
Russo G — Google review
We came here early to avoid the long line. A glass cable car carried us to the top of iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, actually expect to ride second cable car to real mountain top, which is a symbol of the city, in ideal conditions, I supposed to see the stunning panorama of the beaches, Corcovado Mountain, downtown Rio, and Guanabara Bay, etc. actually what you can see is by chance, the mist of cloud always come across to make you wonder, and it's hard to take a good picture of the stunning panoramic view of bay. There are squirrel-like primates called marmosets which can be spotted near the cable car stations and trails on the mountain , a species native to eastern Brazil. The tourists are discouraged to feed them.
Zemin H — Google review
A world class experience. Preferable to book the cable car tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. There are queues to board and alight from the cable cars. The 2 levels of the cable car stations provide varied views of the city of Rio from the top. The vistas are breathtaking. It can get a little cold at the top, so dress accordingly. The Christ Redeemer statue can be seen from the top. There a few expensive stores and good cafés at the top. Toilet and drinking water facilities are good. Best time to visit is around the sunset time to get the night views of the city.
Shabbir B — Google review
Beautiful! It’s a stop you cannot miss in Rio. I loved it!
Carolina.H — Google review
A definite must do while you are here. The views are great and there’s heaps of little shops and restaurants on top. The history of the build is also really interesting
David S — Google review
A must place to visit if visiting Rio. Usual problems of crowds. Really busy mid morning with cruise ship tours etc. Go early or later also mid day was quiet

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Escadaria Selarón, also known as the Selaron Steps, is a famous public stairway in the city adorned with colorful and hand-painted tiles. This iconic landmark consists of 215 vibrant steps leading up from Rua Joaquim Silva. The Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón dedicated decades to covering the steps with over 2,000 tiles collected from more than 60 countries around the world.
I took an Uber to this place and it was very easy to find. It's literally a staircase filled up with lots of different tiles from all over the world and colors. It's beautiful and very colorful. Attention to the hundreds of people trying to take pictures because on Fridays and weekends it's kinda crowded. The best time to visit it is in the afternoon during week days. It'll make a lot easier to take a nice picture. Wearing comfortable shoes is a good idea. If you go up till the top, you can even take the street over the hill and reach the ruins park.
Caio M — Google review
It could really be pack after 10am. So, if you’d like a nice photo, do go early! We had to go back a 2nd time to get nice photo taken without people everywhere!
Est R — Google review
The stairs themselves are stunning but the sheer number of people trying to pose on them makes it overwhelming and takes away from the art. Go early or in the rain for the best chance at a decent view. The street leading up to the steps is full of souvenir stalls that are actually pretty well priced compared to the same stuff at Christ the Redeemer or Ipanema.
Maris C — Google review
I came here twice, solely because it was so ridiculously busy the first time I thought it deserved a second go. The first was on a Saturday around 12. It was so insanely busy you could barely move let alone get any sort of pictures or enjoyment. The second was on a Monday around 10:30 it was still very busy but far less people. You could walk without getting in the way of to many people's photos and find a spot to take your own. Well the stairs are very beautiful, and it is completely free. I wouldn't say it is an absolute must see. If it's a stop on your tour, or nearby where you're staying I think go for it. But I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
Izzy E — Google review
Such an amazing vibe with beautiful artwork on the steps. It can be a bit crowded, but it is so worth the trip. Grab a caprihana and stroll on up the steps. Great little shops at the bottom to check out too.
Kay — Google review
Easy to miss if you're going from up top. The stair view can be enjoyed from tje bottom only. They're located on a 5-10 minute walk from the cathedral and are definitely worth a visit.
Filip M — Google review
Sept.25: would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't so overcrowded. We unfortunately visited on Sunday afternoon, lots of tourists which all took their time to get pictures... It was even hard only to enter the stairs just to go up.
Petra ( — Google review
This place is an iconic one. I went there late in the afternoon and was packed! Still, flocks of people would come and go leaving good time to take pictures. However, the best moment to be there is very very early in the morning like 6.30am, sun rises around 6-6.18am so it'll be well lit and everything, and most importantly, empty! You don't need to buy a ticket to enter this place since it's open for everyone. Just be careful of your belongings as always, pay attention to your surroundings and you'd be just fine! If you have enough time it's really amazing to really pay attention to the different ceramic tiles, also, be careful on where you step, after all it's ceramic so it can be slippery or tricky at times.

The TAMAR Marine Turtle Praia do Forte Project is a crucial initiative dedicated to the conservation of endangered sea turtles. At the TAMAR Education Center, visitors can gain insights into various turtle species and the threats they face from activities like pelagic long line fishing and poaching. The project also focuses on preserving humpback whales, with whale watching being a popular activity during their reproduction season from July to October.
Projeto Tamar in Praia do Forte was an amazing experience! They’re doing incredible work in protecting sea turtles and raising environmental awareness. It’s a meaningful visit that’s both educational and inspiring. Definitely worth your time!

It's a very interesting, but small exhibit. It's fun to see, but keep in mind that you will maybe spend there 1-2 hours MAX. If you don't have a tour! We went 2 hours before closing and it was the perfect time to go.
B. N — Google review
It is definitely a place worth visiting. You can admire turtles of different sizes, from tiny hatchlings to enormous old turtles. While they offer guided tours, unfortunately, these tours are not available in English, and not all exhibit descriptions have English translations. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the visit.
Arkadiusz J — Google review
Amazing from A to Z you can spend a whole day here with the kids and they'll never get board. Food, play area. Shows and lots of nice vibes. Highly recommended the kids can feed the turtles too!
Yasmeen F — Google review
I was very impressed with the amount of information about turtles. They have a number of different turtles as well as other sea life. Also there's turtles that have been found injured that are being treated. With the moderate admission it was well worth the experience. I was very impressed with the obvious passion the staff has to support the mission of protecting turtles. The staff were readily available to answer the questions that our group had. The gift shop had a number of beautiful options. Make a visit here a part of your vacation to Priai do forte!

Fun outdoor activity to do with kids (free under 5)! Employees are kind, always available to explain or help. Fun way to learn about turtles. There are also sharks and rays to see. The gift shop is nice too :) For people with babies, please note that there are 2 bathrooms on the site, but only one that is baby friendly. It's the one located at the entrance of the park where you pay your ticket. Enjoy :)

Love the place. The landscape and the turtles are amazing. You can clearly see that they love them and care about them. If you want to eat somenthing inside there, you have an open restaurant facing the ocean with a breathtaking view. You will not regret the experience.

(Translated by Google) Praia do Saco is a rustic and beautiful spot in Sergipe, with dunes, coconut groves, mangroves, and that clear sea. You can take a boat trip to Ilha da Sogra, Ponta do Saco, and other islands, or venture out in a buggy through the dunes, which is great for photos and to appreciate the landscape from above. The beach's infrastructure is simple: there are some kiosks and restaurants like Asa Branca and Pirata that serve snacks, moqueca (a type of fish stew), pirão (a type of porridge), and drinks. The average cost to eat there can range from R$70 to R$150 per person, depending on the dish and the place. The main attractions are the dunes, the viewpoints, the islands accessible by boat, and the meeting of the Real River with the sea at Ponta do Saco. Bring cash because many buggy drivers and boats don't accept cards. A really great place. Full of species of fishes, even sharks. The main attraction are the marine turtles, various species and their cubs (which you can see been freed onto the sea depending on the season). The place supports a conservancy projected to protect the turtles.
Daniel J — Google review
Great staff, well organized and well mantained environment. The entry ticket justifies its R$ 24 price tag, letting you go to any places in the stabelecement (excluding the Yellow Submarine atraction) with freedom All animals are healthy and are well cared and loved by everyone working there. Things on the exit shop are pricy but are justificable by how much this project has been doing and how much they need to pay for taking care of the animals, maintain the building in good state and pay the employees as well. Overall, couldn't stay more happy to visit and help the project as well.
Victor R — Google review
It's so little! I would recommend if you want to see a group of sharks and some little turtles. Overall I am kind of disappointed because compared to the TAMAR project of Praia do Forte this one has only is 1/3 of the size and attractions. I would recommend watch the animal feeding. You can also ask for a stamp in your arm in case you want to go out and return later on.

This picturesque beach on a peninsula features swimming, boating, coconut trees & eateries.
A nice place with beautiful beach and all sorts of facilities to make the time more enjoyable. Lots of activities offered and a wide variety of food with affordable prices. However, experience can be negatively impacted with the amount of sellers offering the whole day for photo sessions, lottery cards, hats, biquinis, food, etc. Some common sense must be considered - we are there as tourists enjoying the time with family and are interrupted every 2/3 minutes. Very annoying.

Busy beach with lots of people and lots of things to do. Not my favorite to just sit at, but all of the adventures and food are great. Very beautiful area

Although the beach is beautiful, but the commercial environments are disappointing and unacceptable, all they want is to make every single penny from the tourist. When you wanted to pay the buggy by credit card, they additionally charge you 15%, when you pay by debit card, they additionally charge you 10%, when you wanted to pay by Pix, they do not accept, the only way they do not charge you more is by cash. We are only 5 people group, they wanted to charge us by 6 seats for the buggy. If you wanted to park your car, you have to pay 25 BRL. Absolutely, will never come this place again, everything is disappointing.

Praia do Francês is a well-known beach located in the city of Marechal Deodoro, about 20 km from Maceio. It's known for its reef pools that are perfect for swimming and offers various water sports activities. The area also has food and souvenir vendors to cater to visitors. The beach is praised for its cleanliness and relatively less crowded compared to other beaches in the region. Visitors recommend specific tents on the beach for an enjoyable stay and highlight the beautiful sunset views.
Definitely worth a visit! Wonderful beach for long walks (over 5km if you want!). The ocean is warm and the reef provides a safe area for swimming and snorkeling. The open ocean is great for surfing, but some areas have strong currents so be careful if you are outside the reef areas. There is a nice walkway just above the beach as well.

Wish the businesses would clean the beach area. There were dead fish along the water line. Bottle caps buried in the sand. Beach area lost 2 stars due to cleanliness and aggressive vendors. The water is nice. There is a wave breaker wall. Parts of the beach are crowded with businesses and people. I selected the area near the lifeguard tower as it was less crowded. 50R$ for table and umbrella if you don't order food.

Dirty beach, old infrastructure and weird local people and beggars. I do not recommend for a family. The streets around are also dirty, no marked crossings in the city and the car and motorcar trafic is high. It is a pitty, because it has a great potential. The local authority just need to move out all the trash and regulate the annoying local vendors.

Awesome beach, really worth visiting. Between November and March, if it's not crowded you just walk along the shore and you will be offered seats ("cadeiras") under a sunshade or sunbrella for R$30. It might get really crowded on Sundays.

Plain awful. The water is disgusting and it is unclear as to whether the water is muddy or if it is sewage. We walked the entire length of the beach and didn’t find it suitable to get in at any point. The sand itself is fine. I cannot understand how this beach gets such high ratings. Avoid this beach if planning on getting in the water.

Disheartening how absolutely disgusting this beach is. Unless you are into loud sound bars from every other group, into piles of trash mixed with algae, and into muddy ocean floor, this place is not for you. The 2 stars go to how this beach looks from far away: pretty ocean reefs and blue sea water. Unfortunately up close, it is a disappointment. Avoid!

(Translated by Google) An intimate place to stay. Exclusive environment, since the surrounding inns are not accessible to everyone and neither are the remains to eat. The place itself is very good, the room has everything you need to be comfortable: good mattress, good shower, large bathroom, good air conditioning. Breakfast is very good and complete. However, there are no markets in the surrounding area where you can buy food or even a bottle of water, so you must pay what the inn requests. This particular accommodation, because it is small and not on the beach, tries to provide you with lounge chairs and an umbrella. Anyway, at lunch time, you end up looking for a hostel, because the place does not provide food. And since in those places they give you the umbrella and the lounge chair with the drink you end up staying there, hahaha... at least that's how it happened to us... The beach is nice, you can walk to the natural pools, I recommend wearing water shoes now there are hidden urchins and sharp corals under the water. The beach may not appeal to everyone, since the dynamics are determined by the rise and fall of the tide... for many hours the water reaches your knees no matter how much you walk (a kilometer leisurely). Happy stay! Feliz estancia!

Maragogi Natural Pools in Alagoas, Brazil, are a set of well-preserved pools with shallow and crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling among the coral. The most famous pool is the Welsh, which is the largest in the region and can be reached by boat or hired tours with guides from local agencies. These pools offer opportunities to snorkel or dive amidst clear waters, colorful fish, and coral formations.

Beautiful place where we can see clear water and several fishes. But it depends on weather and people crowded. It tales 20 to 30 minutes to reach here by boat. I recommend to take snorkel set.
Papipupenta — Google review
Super crowded (over 10 boats to a pool) with very low visibility. The place is an absolute money grab, the companies simply want to sell you snorkling, photos, drinks, everything you can imagine once you are in the water with them... besides that there service is just unfriendly. Do not recommend it as it is a waste of money that is causing more harm than good to the environment. It might have been good in the past but now is simply a circus of boats and prople selling you stuff in the water. '

Without a doubt a must visit situation. The natural pools are amazing. Take care that you ask for the correct times. You need to make sure you get a catamaran. The service and prices are the beach are okay, nothing to crazy and as expected.

I have done 2 tours and both of them were so full of people. Maragogi is overrated 100%. City does not infrastructure needed / swming pool - the visibility is low in some points and definatly they is not fish diversity. I saw people diving with cilindro in less than 1 meter depth. Until now was the worse place that I have been. Too Many people they try to seel you everything even to take pictures. Sao Miguel dos milagres is smaller but the tours over there to swimming pool were nicer .

For me, this place is full of scammers because I'm probably disappointed with how Maragozi was, everyone was coming back. It's probably everywhere. They try to rip you off, starting from the parking lot. Someone calls you "park" and goes there. Turn this way, the wrong way. Take a boat at the end. Take a raft or a kayak. Swim 6 meters and tell them to dive to see the fish. Then they take you back. For me, this isn't an attraction that can be considered paid. You could just as easily grab a mask and go somewhere quiet. It's completely overrated and just a scam. I think there are more people, sunscreen, and everything else in the water than fish. So, it's just a guy with trained fish feeding them and saying he can take a photo, for an additional fee, of course. So, absolutely not. I don't recommend such places. I've been here at least in the main port and in Maragozi.

Very friendly place. Nice restaurants and good beaches

Muro Alto Beach is a stunning destination in Brazil, known for its luxurious condominiums and resorts. The calm waters, thanks to the large reef formation, create a natural pool surrounded by coconut trees and mangroves. Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, jet-skiing, sailing boat trips, and kayaking. The area also offers opportunities for sports activities. Additionally, the beach is close to other beautiful beaches like Maracaipe and Porto de Galinhas.
Very cosy and nice beach Nice rocks Some services ( but not so much as at Porto de Galinhas)

Great view...on the refinery. It's full of plastic and petrol residue. Water fills like a rotten soup. To complete, tens of buildings under construction right on the beach. Such a shame. It could be such a beautiful place

Excellent beach! It is beautiful blue sea. In addition, the water temperature is very warm and the wave is very calm. We can be here during the day.

Very beautiful beach, only this beach is more dirty than the beaches in the south. There is a lot of plastic carbage here. Also the current is strong.

Beautiful place but dirty compared to all the other beaches plus so many more people trying to sell you things, didn't take any photos as I didn't want my phone to be robbed.

Very beautiful beach. With natural pools and warm water. The accees to the beach is somewhat hard, lots of buildings on the way. Parking lot is reasonable, but food at beach restaurants is expensive. The view and nature make it woth visiting. You can try the food carts or stands along the beach, they are way too delicious than the food at the restaurants and they are cheap :)

Boa Viagem Beach is a vibrant 7-mile stretch of sandy coastline in Recife, Brazil. The beach offers swimming areas protected by natural reefs, making it safe and enjoyable for visitors. A popular stop on tours combining Recife and Olinda, the beachfront at Boa Viagem is particularly lively on Sundays when locals flock to the shore. The area is known for its dense concentration of parasols and towering high-rise buildings that provide shade as the day progresses.
What a beauty 😍, awesome beach 🏖️ to spend a Quality Sunday. I was there for around 8 hours, you can have drinks, some food items and enjoy the sea views. Ample parking space outside. Wheelchair track is there to access the beach . Can get a taxi to and fro to the city. Of course, the crowd is making it more enjoyable 😃. And Thanks to nature for such a beautiful creation.
Manish K — Google review
Beautiful beach as it has calm and strong waves! Great for kids ! Also known as Piscinas! Lovely walk and reasonable prices to rent seats and umbrella. Average 10 or 15 reas.
Antoine A — Google review
Beautiful! Great beach, and location. Was urged not to swim, as there are sharks(story behind this) so really only went in water at low tide when the reef keeps a pool you can swim in
Todd B — Google review
Nice beach ⛱️🏖️ However, there is only water, sand, big buildings and some palm trees. Nothing special if you like really nice views. But if you like sun, sand and warm water, that's a good place to be.
Diego H — Google review
The high tale is around noon, so the best time to take advantage of the natural pools that are shark safe is the early morning. Once you are in pleamar, huge sections of the beach disappear under the water, but you will still have plenty of areas with a wide strip of sand. If you consume anything, you so not have to pay for the umbrellas and the chairs.
Jose S — Google review
Beautiful beach, however unsafe to swim due to the sharks. There are not a lot of warning signs.
F. N — Google review
I prefered over Porto de Galinhas for a nice long walk where you can have wide shore, uninterrupted by "tourism" and view of the sea and shore without kiosks.
Erna A — Google review
Boa Viagem is an urban beach located in Recife. Unfortunately known for accidents with Sharks, it is a very good beach to spend the day, on the beach out of the water. If you go, go early, as the sun sets early on the beach due to the large buildings that hide the sun from 3 pm onwards.

Instituto Ricardo Brennand is a cultural institution located in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It was established in 2002 by Ricardo de Almeida Coimbra Brennand and is housed within the medieval-style Forte de Sao Joao Batista do Brum. The institute features a military and weaponry museum, an art gallery, extensive parkland with outdoor sculptures, gardens, and a well-stocked library.
Very beautiful museum. So much to see and do. Really enjoyed being there. Went with my family.
JP S — Google review
Have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed by certain parts of Recife, abandoned buildings and evident economic struggle; but not this place, apparently a lot of the money of the town went to whoever built this place. I was legit amazed by the collection of global art and artifacts that Mr. Brennand had accumulated. Huuge tapestries, ivory carved dioramas from asia, bottero sculptures, local art, and enough medieval suits of armor and weapons to hold off a small invading army; all housed in immaculately manicured gardens and enormous brick chapels and halls. If you have it, I appreciate the desire to let everyone else enjoy it also.
Kiantar B — Google review
Simply incredible. Looks like a very European art museum in the middle of North East Brazil, and even though most of the artworks are replicas, it's surely worth visiting. Many expositions are hosted and the permanent collection is very beautiful. Fair price, no wait and absolutely the best art experience in Recife.
ALESSANDRO C — Google review
This is one of my favorite places to visit in Recife. The Brennand collection of weapons is fantastic and they certainly have a vast collection of art. My favorite time to go is during the week when it rains a little because there aren't as many people around so you can have a lot of time to yourself. Great architecture as well. This place is worth your time for sure.
Nephi B — Google review
The architecture is stunning but the gallery displays a lot of replicas and some originals. Most pieces don't have information on who made them or where, nor any historical context. The arms collection os really interesting but could also use some more information. Also, the ticket priced at R$50 makes it more expensive than most Brazilians can afford.
Stella ( — Google review
One of the best and most unique museums in the northeast of Brazil, if not all Brazil. A must-visit if you’re in the northeast! The Dutch tapestries and the history of the Dutch in Brazil is fascinating, as is a vast building filled with thousands of weapons from the last hundred years. Add in the stunning gardens filled with capybara and monkeys strolling around and playing and this truly is a memorable place to spend a few hours. Cafe and restaurant on site too. Entrance is $50 BRL.

Worth visiting, but slightly overrated if you really want the beach scene. Coqueirinho Is better as a beach with many more food options. (Translated by Google) I believe that every good travel experience begins with choosing the right place to stay. And, unfortunately, we made a mistake in this regard. João Pessoa is an incredible city — beautiful, welcoming, and full of polite and helpful people. However, our stay at the Tambaú Beach Hotel left much to be desired. The location is excellent, super close to everything, but the hotel falls short in several aspects, especially in the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. The walls had mold — and, from what I've seen in other comments here on Google, it wasn't an isolated problem. A real nightmare for anyone with allergies! We booked some tours with Luck Turismo, which is a partner of the hotel and has a permanent space in the reception area to sell packages. One of the tours left at 6:45 am, and since breakfast is only served from 6:30 am, I tried to talk to the reception to see if it would be possible to arrive 10 minutes earlier or if they could prepare a snack for us to take with us. In other hotels I've stayed in, this has always been resolved willingly — after all, we are in a tourist city. But, to my surprise, the response was curt and abrupt: “There’s nothing we can do, can’t you have coffee in 15 minutes? That’s all the time you have.” No willingness to help, not even an attempt at a solution. As a result, I gulped down my food so as not to miss the tour. Another day, I ordered a tapioca for breakfast (which is made to order) and, quite rudely, the employee informed me that it would be the last one—at 7:20 am, with several guests still arriving to eat! I waited more than 15 minutes and, when I asked again, I was told they wouldn't be making any more tapioca that day. I could have enjoyed my breakfast normally, but I ended up wasting time waiting for something that never came. I also had an unpleasant experience when requesting a hairdryer at reception. The attendant, wearing headphones, showed complete unwillingness—he huffed, stood up, and handed over the item visibly annoyed, as if he were doing me a favor. In short, there are many accommodation options in João Pessoa, and I would certainly choose a different one on a future visit. The Tambaú Beach Hotel presents itself as a 3-star hotel, but honestly, it doesn't even come close to deserving one. Porém, nossa hospedagem no Tambaú Beach Hotel deixou bastante a desejar.

Praia do Jacaré, located in Cabedelo near Joao Pessoa, is a low-key beach known for its boat docks and esplanade lined with restaurants and bars. The highlight of this beach is the daily sunset celebration accompanied by live music, featuring the famous saxophonist Jurandy do Sax performing Bolero by Ravel. This unique experience has made Praia do Jacaré a popular destination for visitors seeking a magical and romantic sunset setting.
Beautiful little area. There is no beach per se, however, the little area is very clean, new with tons of shops and space to watch the sunset or shop. It is a very recommendable spot to come while in João Pessoa for the souvenir possibilities and to see the area/music/sunset.
Miguel S — Google review
Most popular sunset in Brazil. 🌅 However, if you want more beautiful ones, try Barra Grande, Bahia, or the dunes of Lençois Maranhenses. What’s special here is that the music is nice; also there are free bathrooms. Other than that it’s pretty crowded.
Alexandra K — Google review
Nice touristic spot to see the sunset. It's basically a street following the river with bunch of small stores to buy souvenirs and food. You can park your car for free at the public designated area, but you will have an army of people trying to make your park before on their area for 5 reais. That's not a lot to pay, but if you don't want to, ignore them and park at the end on the left.
Sarah Z — Google review
This place is really beautiful and charming Come by the sun set and you will by able to hear Ravel's Bolero The sound and the sight comes together and make it a magic place There are many shopping and eating There are bars and restaurants You can go on the boat to see the sun set

Very nice, but simple. Lots of shops with neat tourist items and some restaurants. Running the gauntlet of people trying to "sell" a parking space is annoying. Of course, Bolero at sunset is the highlight.

Praia Baía dos Golfinhos Pipa is a natural, long sandy beach known for its dolphin watching opportunities and kayak rentals. To reach the beach during low tide, visitors have to walk through Praia do Porto. The sight of dolphins in the water is a major draw, offering the chance to swim, kayak, or stand-up paddle right next to them. As the sun sets, the experience becomes even more magical as a pod of dolphins makes their daily pilgrimage to the bay.
Totally worth visiting either on foot or by boat! Spectacular nature display and the dolphin watching is definitely a plus!!!

Charlotte C — Google review
In my opinion this is the nicest beach in town. Not just because of the regular sightings of Pipa's native dolphin colony, but also because it's a 10 minute walk from the central beach and so somewhat quieter and cannot easily be accessed during high tide.
