Imperial Plateau Park, also known as MAP 6 Chapada Imperial, is a vast private environmental reserve in the Federal District. Spanning 4,800 hectares and located just 50 km from Brasilia in the Cafuringa Environmental Protection Area, this tranquil nature reserve boasts over 30 waterfalls, guided tours, hiking trails, and zip lining. Preserved since 1986, it features natural pools and ancient caves dating back over a billion years.
Down-to-earth ecotourism in a well-preserved private property in the cerrado biome. Bird sightings galore and refreshing pools and waterfalls for anyone who want to reconnect with nature. The facilities are rustic but romantic and the food is authentically local. Worth a visit.

A wonderful place, surrounded by nature, that is well worth visiting for its waterfalls, botanical variety, and wildlife, and especially for the kind attention of Freddy, our guide, who entertained us with fascinating details about the surroundings. Many thanks.

An amazing place to visit if you are looking for an adventure near by Brasília. Great staff and easy access to the venue. They offer three different packages to explore the nature to the fullest. Reservations in advance is required.

Great place to spend the day. It’s only about a 1 hour drive from the hotel district in Brasilia and is well worth the trip. The last several kilometers are a very bumpy dirt road but where would you expect to find waterfalls and an animal sanctuary. The staff speak limited if any English, but they were very friendly and patient with our lack of speaking Portuguese. We chose the long hike, and it was a great day! A word of caution the long hike is not for anyone with mobility issues or someone who has problems with stairs/steps, it is quite hilly and is a workout. The hike takes you up and down numerous hills that offer great views of the surrounding area. We hiked to 4-5 different waterfalls, most of which you could swim in the pools at the bottom. The water was quite chilly, but it was quite an experience. At the end of the hike, they pick you up in cool old truck and drive you back to where you started, a welcomed ride after climbing all of the hills. The day ended with a great local all you can eat buffet style lunch, included in the R$70.00 price. They also have several large parrots that walk about freely with the chickens, pretty interesting. Well worth the drive and well worth the visit.
Lee R — Google review
I guess what we see on the website is not what we get while visiting this place. The start point area seems to have not recovered from COVID days yet, kind of running down. We took the medium trail and it is a lot of walk for too little to see. There was not a real waterfall but some rapids. There was a truck to pick up the visitors at the end of the visit. However, to get to the truck stop was a very steep and long walk. Kids under 6 and people over 70, that are not fit, should avoid this visit. I
Hermenegildo G — Google review
It is a simple and a beautiful place. I loved the guided tour. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because they only offered me the small trail; the person I talked to when I made the reservations never mentioned it to me. My plan was to walk the long trail. I wish they would had mentioned that they will only do the small trail.
Artur R — Google review
This is a nice and easy going place for the whole family. Good food and fun with tame and not so tame parrots, chicken, geese, donkeys, a peacock and even monkeys. There are natural pools and waterfalls and we had a nice little hike.

A really beautiful place to experience. The waterfall truely is a sight to never forget. I had a great time with my family and friends. The place is safe and well taken care of. Apart from the waterfall, you can also swim on the rivers. You can also go hiking on a trail to reach the top of the waterfall, the trail is about 5 km and takes about 1 to 2 hours to finish. The beginning of the trail can be difficult since it's very steep, but there are ropes to help you. Once you reach the top you can contemplate the nature from a different perspective. You will also be able to swim on the main source that feeds the waterfall. And don't worry, you will not fall off the waterfall, the water is calm. Important note : you have to wear shoes to do the trail.
Pedro N — Google review
Very beautiful and worth a trip. There are several places to enter the river. Area is large. If you wish to walk to the top of the waterfall, you need to sign a document at the entrance. Be aware that no food (none at all, not even a fruit) is allowed in the park. No drinks either, apart from water. They are very strict about it. We paid 20 reais per person to get in. Students have a discount, but you need to bring your student ID.
Maria K — Google review
Beautiful park in the Itiquira waterfall region. The place is clean and safe. Much native vegetation has been preserved. There are many species of butterflies and birds. All routes are in good conditions. A good place to spend a day in nature. Price: R$ 20.00 per ticket. Children and Seniors are 50 % discount on standard adult ticket prices.
Leonor K — Google review
What is called Municipal Park of Itiquira is, in fact, the access and surrounding area of the 169 meters waterfall of Itiquira. This is the most accessible of all of the 10 highest waterfalls in Brazil (as all the others include hours or days of hiking). Here you can park your car right at the entrance and after a mere 5 minute walk through lush vegetation you stand right in front of an unforgettable spectacle. This fall comes down in a single drop of epic proportions and one can even enjoy a swim in the river below. If you are anywhere nearby in the area, this is an absolute must.
Giorgio G — Google review
Unbelievable experience, the drop is so high that you feel the mist of water before you even see the waterfall, and once your near it you will get fully wet. Its a must

Salto do Itiquira

Nature & Parks
Park
Waterfalls
Accessible by a paved road, this scenic 168-m. waterfall in a park is a popular destination.
Amazing Day Enjoying Nature. The waterfall is amazing and easily accessible for two parents and our 7-year-old son. There are side paths/trails that take you down to the river bank for a swim or to other scenic views. There is also a playground, showers and bathrooms within the park. While we were swimming there were monkeys swinging in the trees above and around us. Just a cool place to spend the day. Don't forget a picnic or bug repellent. The entry cost was R$20 per adult and R$10 for a 7-year-old. Bring cash.
Chele R — Google review
One of the best options for a day trip if you live in Brasília. Magnificent waterfall with several bathing spots in clear and cold water.
Jovan T — Google review
Wonderful memories! My wife and I walked down to the bottom of the falls and back up again 50 years ago.
Ed J — Google review
Beautiful place to spend the day. You pay a small amount to get in (R$ 20,00) and there are several places to swim, and you can go up and take a closer look to the powerful waterfall. There is a nice restaurant next to the main entrance, prices and food taste are very nice; nonetheless, some waiters are a bit unpolite.
Fidel C — Google review
It's a wonderful place to pass with family and or friends. Or even alone. The visitation area is completely paved with stones and has ramps almost all the way (which allows the visitation for wheelchair users). But keep in mind that there are some relatively steep sections and that there may be some sludge stones due to the humidity. If you are more adventurous, there is a trail of about 1h30 leading to the top of the waterfall (although access to the fall view is prohibited for obvious safety reasons). The trail is quite steep at first, with many loose rocks, then has a quieter stretch that reaches the river where there are some deep wells larger than those below the fall. Not to mention that there is another trail that leads to another waterfall in the city: the Indaiá waterfall. P.S. The trail is not recommended for those who have problems such as knees or something that makes it very difficult to get around. But there is a guide at the beginning of the trail that can better inform you about the trail situation. Either way, the walk to the waterfall (off the trail) is well worth it.
Vida A — Google review
Got goosebumps when I saw the waterfall. An amazing experience
Sarah A — Google review
Amazing waterfall, the water falls from quite high up so the closer you get the more the water splashes. If you plan to get real close I suggest a raincoat, you will get soaked! Because of the humidity in the air it is hard to get pictures, camera lens just can't keep dry.

Memorial JK

History museum
Sights & Landmarks
Memorial JK is a museum in Brasilia designed by Oscar Niemeyer, dedicated to the former Brazilian president Juscelino Kubitschek. The memorial was inaugurated in 1981 and features a 28-meter statue of Juscelino, along with exhibits showcasing his life and legacy. Visitors can explore the Mortuary Chamber, where Juscelino's remains are housed, as well as personal objects and presidential memorabilia.
As part of an amazing weekend in Brasilia visiting friends who are teaching here, we toured the Memorial JK. Will confess I knew nothing about Juscelino Kubitschek and his role in developing Brasilia. The memorial is worth the time. I left in awe of his vision and inspired by his wife Sarah, who I have to say, was the perfect first lady and all-around badass. Take the time to wander through, look through his library and see if you can find the works of Shelley as well as Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The docents are knowledgeable and helpful and the memorial is laid out well and uses Portuguese, English and Braille to describe the exhibits. I left wanting to know more about these two iconic people who shaped modern-day Brazil, sometimes under dangerous circumstances. We visited on Sunday and admission was free but it would have been worth the 10 real!
Rivkah S — Google review
Among the bold landmarks that line Brasília’s Monumental Axis, the JK Memorial stands apart - not for its grandeur, but for its quiet pristine restraint. Low-slung, streamlined and earthbound, the mausoleum seems to melt into the landscape, as if trying to disappear. Only a single, slender columnar sculpture rises skyward, crowned by a modest statue of the late president. The highly experiential subterranean entranceway is a masterful stroke in design. If the architecture is meant to evoke reverence, reflection, and solemn nobility, then it succeeds with quiet brilliance - this points in no small way to the genius of the designer; Oscar Niemeyer. Surely one of the lesser-known works in Niemeyer’s grand oeuvre, yet no less arresting or profound. We arrived in the soft hush of early morning, short on reais for the entrance fee—but with a generous nod, they waved us in, our guide vowing to return later and settle the score. Inside, we were caught off guard by the near-darkness. The illumination was spare, almost reverent. As our eyes slowly adjusted, the exhibits began to emerge—quietly, deliberately. The life and legacy of Juscelino Kubitschek unfolded in carefully curated chapters: his childhood and family, his education and military formation, his path through medicine and, eventually, into the arena of politics. There was a quiet dignity to the presentation. No chest-thumping, no gaudy celebration—just a solemn, elegant tribute to a complex man and the nation he helped to shape.
Eddie C — Google review
Nice place to understand Brasília 's history and how it was built. Well maintained and beautiful displays of Jucelino Kubitschek life as a medical doctor, Brazilian president and other activities.
Leandro B — Google review
A museum where you can learn more about the president and the other people who built Brasília and also about the city construction itself. There are several videos, presentations, photos, objects and even entire rooms full of history.
Kleber S — Google review
Nice place to learn about Brasilia and its history
Chandima K — Google review
If I could give it 6 stars I would. This is a cash only museum priced at R$ 10,00 at the time of writing this review. Inside you can see many original pieces of importance to Juscelino's Kubitschek history and Brasilia's history. Make sure you go early and well fed so you take your time inside. Precisely curated by his wife Sara, it even has his mortuary chamber. It's a must see if you are interested in inspiring personalities. #museum

Nature & Parks
Parque da Cidade Sarah Kubitschek, located in downtown Brasilia, is a sprawling public park offering a wide range of activities for visitors. It features sports courts, artificial lakes, an amusement park, and an equestrian center. The park is popular among fitness enthusiasts due to its jogging and cycling tracks as well as various sports facilities. Additionally, it hosts cultural events throughout the year.
The place is huge and full of nature. It's great to spend time there at daytime or in the evening. Because there are so many trees there, you can go visit the place at midday and still find a confortable shadow under one of them. There are so many things you can do there. You can interact with people, you can be alone. You can attend to an event, you can make barbecue in one of their dedicated spots, you can celebrate your birthday. You can make your exercises, you can run or ride a bicycle... or you can just sit under a tree and read a book. You can spend a lot of time there because you have drinkable water and bathrooms available in several place. Also, you can eat and drink near the lake. If you have your kids with you, you can bring them to the theme park and spend all day there. This place worth the visit.
Kleber S — Google review
Very pleasant spacious park with walkways and paved bicycle paths. Lot of bathrooms. Kiosks for refreshments and even massage (but usually must be booked in advance). There is an amusement park on one side. Many tennis courts but you must bring your own net but there are often tennis pros there so you could arrange something. Beach volleyball. On weekends you can rent bicycles and there is a go-kart place. And probably much more that I missed. It really adds to the city.
Peter S — Google review
Such a large park but with nothing on the left side. Not many people so it can be risky to go alone but i didn't feel unsafe! Go on the right side where the lake is!
Antoine A — Google review
This is not a pretty park. There are not many trees. No toilet paper in the bathrooms and this is the capital city for the entire country. There is also quite a bit of trash that needs picked up. The paved bike and running tracks are nice. Just needs taller shade trees.
M. P — Google review
Bom pra levar a familia, porém tem pontos isolados que recomendo manter distância os melhores lugares ficam proximos ao laguinho do parque It's a good place to hang out with family, but you have to be careful because there are some places that are kind of dangerous. Next to the lake is the best place to make a picnic or something like that.
Stefani N — Google review
This place is a must go for everyone. The beauty and greatness of the park is unique. There are many activities avaible in the park for very different tastes, from kart racing to barbecue. I strongly suggest to rent a bike there on a sunny day and drink coconut water after that.

Santuário São João Bosco is a unique church dedicated to the 19th-century Italian priest, with an interior defined by striking blue Murano glass windows and a grand chandelier. The building, located on the 15th parallel, was designed by architect Vasconcelos Naves and features tall pointed arches framing stained glass windows in various shades of blue.
I've visited a good share of churches, temples, and cathedrals across the globe, and this one made me whisper 'Oh Wow' when I entered. It is truly impressive. There is a crypt, gift store, and bathrooms downstairs - walk to the left of the pulpit and you will see the stairs.

One of the most beautiful churches I’ve visited (despite my photos, much more beautiful in person). Very calm, very peaceful, I’mnot catholic but felt at ease each time I visited.
M R — Google review
This is my second time coming to this iconic church in Brazil, here are the reasons why. 1. How much time do you need to see everything? I feel like this is a church you need to come to multiple times to take it all in. You could easily spend 5 hours here. We did the top deck and the level below it and that took us about 3 hours with my kids. 2. Where can I park? The parking lot next to the church had plenty of parking and was 20 dollars for 7 hours. We arrived around 9:35 in the morning on a Thursday. I would imagine that a weekend gets busy so if you plan to come to this place I would come at least a half hour before it opens which is 11am. 3. Is the church accessible? Yes, some of the spaces are accessible for people in wheelchairs. Other spaces are not just due to small spaces. 4. Is it expensive? A ticket is over 30 dollars, and I believe that children are the same. Some tickets may run out. So if you are a family prepare to spend a little over 100 to get in. You can buy tickets online as well and skip the line. 5. Is it worth it? Absolutely yes. It’s freaking awesome. The stained glass windows were Superb! 6. Can you take pictures? Yep. Snap a picture in a figure! There is so much I can say about this place, there is so much to explore and I would highly recommend checking it out once in your life, especially if you have no proximity to religiousness. It’s pretty cool to see this important component to our religion and history.

The little church is cosy and pretty. Historic site with Athos Bulcão tiles. The first lady at the time asked Oscar Niemeyer for it to be designed as a promise for the health of her daughter. One of my fav in Brasilia. The address is historic and worth it a walk. Nice to attend to a mass or simply take a seat inside or under the trees and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Totally recommend.

Beautiful Zen Buddhist temple with a peaceful atmosphere. I spent the new year in a blissful celebration where everyone was invited to strike the Bonshō (the big hanging bell) after a guided meditation conducted by the monk. A place open to anyone, Independent of their creed or age.

I am looking for a spiritual home-base community--a sanga. I was filled with enthusiasm about this community. However, the first ritual I attended, not one person went out of their way to say hi after the Sunday service. I introduced myself to a few people. The conversations were bland and the warmth I seek was just not there. Seems like they are a non-porous group who are not that interested in new people.

Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida

Mentioned on
+23 other lists
Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Brasília, designed by Niemeyer in 1970, is a modern Roman Catholic church that stands as one of the most impressive structures in Brazil's capital city. Situated between the ministries and downtown rodoviaria, it commemorates the inauguration of Brasília with its unique design resembling an inverted chalice and crown of thorns. The sunken nave creates an unusual layout where most of the interior floor is below ground level.
No trip to Brazil is complete without a stop in Brasília - and no visit to Brasília should skip the breathtaking Metropolitan Cathedral. It was a highlight of our private tour along the Monumental Axis (Eixo Monumental), the grand boulevard envisioned by Lúcio Costa, the brilliant urban planner behind the city’s master plan. Costa’s closest collaborator, the legendary Oscar Niemeyer, brought the vision to life with his bold, futuristic architecture. His signature can be seen in many of Brasília’s most iconic landmarks - the National Congress, the Palácio do Planalto, and most strikingly, the Metropolitan Cathedral itself. For a structure completed over half a century ago (1958–1970), the cathedral still feels astonishingly modern - ethereal, even. We first arrived during noon mass and couldn’t enter the main hall, but returned the following day to explore it fully. Wandering beneath its sweeping curves (an engineering marvel!), we discovered not only the celestial interior but also exhibits and quiet underground spaces like the baptistery. It was well worth the second visit - a timeless space that speaks in light, form and colour.
Eddie C — Google review
The cathedral is beautiful, but the people working there are so rude. For a Catholic place and "spiritual" place I'd expect people to be more polite. The guy was so rude to us and basically told us to leave if we were doing visitation cause the mass was going to start. He could have invited us to stay. I definitely would not be back, it's good enough to see it from outside. It's not worth it being mistreated just because of a church. When you've seen the Duomo and had amazing experience, the cathedral is just fine, by the way, I was raised in this town.
Lucy E — Google review
This was a cool experience. Sadly they were fixing a hole in the ceiling when we went so we didnt get to see the full room. There are homeless people begging upon entering but it does not ruin the vibes.
Kelly B — Google review
So very beautiful! I have visited many cathedrals and churches in many countries and this modern cathedral is one of the finest. Not normally a fan of modern architecture but in Brazil they break all the rules and the results are stunning! You cannot visit Brasilia without seeing this wonderful place of worship.
Stuart M — Google review
The Cathedral has a very unique architecture, I have never seen anything of that kind. It’s amazing both from inside and outside. It’s mostly underground with it’s dome showing outside above ground level. To take a good picture have your photographer stand at the entrance below whilst you stand on the top pillar over the doors and take an amazing shot with you and the entire cathedral behind. It’s closed on Carnival holidays also. Other attractions are in the vicinity of the Cathedral and it’s gardens and statues.
Anaman S — Google review
This cathedral is very beautiful both from the inside and outside. It is a modern construction that seems smaller from the outside but it’s gorgeous from the inside. There’s a replica of a Michelangelo’s Pietà which is quite beautiful. It’s worth visiting, even if you’re not religious.
Rodrigo G — Google review
It’s one of the symbol of Brasilia. It was designed by Oscar Niemeyer. We feel the light after you enter from entrance with dark. The inside stained glass is vivid colors. It was only transparent but after then, color stained glass was put on transplant one to avoid much hot. And also we can hear the voice from other side one through the wall. It’s very clear sound. When you visit here, you must try to do it.
Papipupenta — Google review
The Cathedral of Brasília is the Roman Catholic cathedral serving Brasília, Brazil, and serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Brasília. The cornerstone was laid on September 15, 1958, and the structure was finished on April 21, 1960, with only the roof structure visible above ground. This concrete-framed hyperboloid structure, appears with its glass roof to be reaching up, open, to heaven. Most of the cathedral is below ground, with only the 70-meter (230 ft) diameter 42-meter (138 ft) roof of the cathedral, the ovoid roof of the baptistry, and the bell tower visible above ground. The shape of the roof is based in a hyperboloid of revolution with asymmetric sections.

The National Congress in Brasilia is a modern complex designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer. It houses Brazil's legislature and offers tours and exhibits for visitors. The building consists of a flat-based structure with two tall buildings, one for the Chamber of Deputies and the other for the Senate, featuring distinctive architectural elements. Guided tours provide insight into the political processes and allow visitors to observe congress sessions in progress, offering a unique glimpse into one of the world's largest democracies.
We attemded a free guided tour with a printed document in English to visit the most iconic parts of the building interior.

The tour is comprehensive and insightful. I just showed up with no information about the tour schedule, If they don't have the English tour, you can join the Portuguese. They will give you a printout in English to follow along. Several staff spoke English. Everyone was cordial and helpful.

Unfortunately I couldn't visit the building inside, so I walked around and took some pictures. The space is huge, and looks even bigger given the absence of trees in the front lawn. Hard to walk around during a sunny day, but worth seeing it.

I enjoyed the guided tour through the congress which takes a little over an hour and it is completely free. You just have to register as a visitor at the recording desk and wait for your tour guide.

Incoherent rules for dress codes. One rule for men one rule for women. Website doesn’t match other people walking around sleeveless. System as broken as their government.

This set of buildings is very interesting. Unfortunately, I could not get in. Security held me at the door because I was wearing Bermudas. So… be sure to wear pants if you intent to get in one of those tours inside.

Striking building which dominates the skyline. The tour was interesting, especially a room of artefacts from the old legislature, which must have been ornate.

Pontão Lago Sul is a popular hangout spot along Lake Paranoa in Brasilia, known for its palm-lined walking paths, cafes, and views of the JK Bridge. It's a favorite among locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of dining options such as Same Same, Gran Bier, Sallva, Manzua, Fausto e Manoel, Izzi Wine Garden, and the new addition Chard.
Safe, well lit at night, enjoyable walks, boat tour and food. It’s a very nice board walk. We liked the “pirate” ship for a1 hour tour of the lake. It’s really nice and different from the other very plain ships. Highly recommend this. Area is great for strolling, lots of people on weekends.

The Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, also known as the President Bridge or JK Bridge, is a remarkable architectural feat located in Brasilia, Brazil. Spanning Lake Paranoa, this bridge features three intertwined arches that support the roadway and stand at over 60 meters in height. Designed by architect Alexandre Chan as part of a project to revitalize the area and improve traffic congestion, it has become an iconic landmark in the city.
It is beautiful to look at this bridge from the city side. Not easy to find a parking at the bridge area, but if you do, little stalls by the water, hire a kiak boat from the Orla Club, grab an ice cream or Açaí, lots of restaurants also nearby. We didn't cross the bridge on foot this time. But worth doing it.
Renato L — Google review
Walked across around 3.30p in afternoon on a sunny day. Glad I had my umbrella, but others seemed find without one. The bridge felt secure and didn't rumble too much when trucks drove past. There are two shaded pitstops/areas at the midway point. Beautiful view. Enjoyed the experience.

Aguas Correntes Park

Water & Amusement Parks
Aguas Correntes Park is an enjoyable water park that features beautifully designed landscapes, pools, thrilling slides, cascading waterfalls, and charming cafés. It also boasts a spacious events venue capable of accommodating up to 500 people. The park offers excellent amenities and well-maintained surroundings. However, one drawback lies in the food and drink ordering system which relies on a PAYG card.
Very good place for enjoying specially for childrens
Ahmed A — Google review
Good place to spend a day with kids. They have a nice infrastructure, with restaurants and washrooms. All pools are safe for small kids, not deeper than 1.0 meters.
Allan C — Google review
No stars at all. I gave one star cuz here there's no possibility to write a review without staring it. It is NOT a good place to go if you have a special kid. They do not respect autistic kids there. They treat people badly. I'll let all my friends know about when they go to Goias, in Brazil.
Beatriz C — Google review
I really enjoyed the place. Good infrastructure, good food, preserved nature. The only negative point is for the system adopted by the club to ordering the food and drinks which is a kind of PAYG card.If you pay by cash you will be able to refunded in case any cash is left, but that is not possible if you pay by credit or debit card. To get this card you have to provide your CPF which is a Brazilian personal identification, if you are a foreigner you will not be able have it. The staff told me I had to have it even if I am not a Brazilian citizen. The place should give a proper training to the staff and find an alternative to receive foreigner visitors.

Stunning caves, in a remote location. Very unspoilt and a great tour guide ensured we learned a lot about the history. Small souvenir shops surround the caves and nice gardens also. Plenty of parking and not too expensive. It wasn't busy when we went, at midday in May
James O — Google review
This cave is beautiful. It is large and has many different interesting rooms inside. My husband and I traveled to this cave without our 9 month old daughter, as we thought it might be too risky. It was a very smart choice. The cave has many stairs, uneven ground and there are no railings. It is safe but you have to be really careful with children. We would've had our daughter in a baby carrier, but it would have still been very inconvenient. Also, on our tour there was an elderly woman who attended. Even though a guide personal was provided to her to help ensure her safety, I watched her struggle the entire time. My own opinion if you are an elderly individual who has limited mobility, my recommendation is that this activity is not for you. As I previously mentioned, the ground in uneven, stairs going up and down (some very steep). Overall, we enjoyed this cave very much. Keep in mind that you have to pay to enter the cave and they only accept cash.

Contrary to what Google maps says, there is not a natural history museum here. There is one skeleton of a prehistoric animal inside the one cave, but that's all.

Amazing, a truly breathtaking experience. Our guide Paulo did a great job guiding us and answering all our questions. The cave has a good infrastructure and is beautiful.

This cave is awesome. It is 200 meters deep and a lot of stalactites and stalagmites, some 500,000 years old. It has a good pathway for access and tourist guide to provide information. It has also some prehistoric paintings on the walls. The place is worth visiting!

It's not a big cave, but it has good structure + a nice green garden to make picnics .

Bodies of Water
Cachoeira Grande is a stunning natural attraction located in Serra do Cipo, offering a sizable waterfall and a picturesque swimming area. The hiking trail leading to the waterfall is relatively easy, making it accessible for visitors of all ages. While there is an entrance fee, the beauty of the waterfall and the opportunity to swim in its waters make it well worth the cost.
This place is simply amazing! The waterfall is beautiful and has enough place to swim. Personally I liked a lot the other side of the waterfall, the Cipó river. So calm and peaceful! You can enjoy the river literally by yourself. To reach the big waterfall, you need to walk around 1km and the trail is very easy. Small kids and eldery people can do it easily. The entrance fee is 30 real but it is well deserved!

A lovely place. Swimming at the big waterfall was a lot of fun. Rocks we're a bit slippery but it was great on a warm day. Expensive but well maintained. That being said, we were told the price was because there was a lifeguard there to watch over us. We never saw him. I don't think there actually was one.
Ike I — Google review
Great place to come to relax and have a day out with friends or family. The price is quite expensive R$30 each, so plan to spend the whole day. Bring your swimming gear as it's a good place to swim. Also bring a picnic but no BBQ's or alcohol.
T J — Google review
This waterfall is on a private place, you must pay to enter. There are several waterfalls.in this parc but only Cahoera Grande is worth the view.
Xavier ( — Google review
Nice enough, but R$50 per person! and you have to fill in a form and have your bags checked to go in, more security than at the airport! Just to go into the state park, which has bigger and better waterfalls, for FREE and not bother with this place and it's greedy owners. How can they charge R$50 when the Sanctuario do Caraça, which is thousands of times larger and far more beautiful charge only R$25! Daylight robbery. I see some people here saying that if there was no entrance fee and it was not public it would be a mess. Well go look in the State Park, it is free and well kept and the staff are very friendly and helpful, not like the grumpy trio when we arrived, who did not even say good morning!

Waterfall Farofa

Outdoor Activities
National park
Waterfall Farofa offers a magnificent natural setting with an impressive landscape. The trek to reach the waterfall is relatively easy, though it can become moderately challenging if the path is wet and muddy. Covering a distance of approximately 8km, this journey is quite rewarding as you witness the beauty of the catchment basin along with its refreshing and picturesque surroundings. Moreover, access to the park is free; however, it's advisable to arrive early to avoid any restrictions.
Great landscape! The trek is flat and the difficulty is lower-medium, but can become mid if the trek is wet, where you face some quagmire. Overall it's a nice 8km trek 'til the waterfall. The catchment basin is not that large but it's refreshing and beautiful even so. Quite rewarding journey!

Visitors can explore the park on foot, by bike, or even on horseback. The park provides various recreational activities such as mountain biking, climbing, and hiking amidst stunning natural beauty. With its diverse biome between desertic and forest areas, the park boasts beautiful waterfalls that are worth exploring.
A beautiful Natural Park, full of treks amd hikings. The small municipality is prrtty well served woth lot of restaurants, Pharmacies, Bars and Supermarkets.

This entrance provides access to two main attractions, the Farofa waterfall and the Bandeirinhas canyon, a total of 29km of route - consider cycling, the trails do not offer secondary attractions and the sun is scorching. On the 2nd day we got lost (there is little signage) and were unable to see the Capão dos Palmitos waterfall, which they say is pleasant. I found the lagoons on the way to the Retiro entrance unattractive, in my opinion they are not worth the trip.
Marcos R — Google review
Natural reserve with a biome between desertic and forest. Beautiful waterfall. Be aware that the points of interests are several Km aparts and you might need more than one day to visit all. Be safe when going there by car, the roads are poor quality.

(Translated by Google) A large, very beautiful lake, with grass, a place to walk along the promenade. The drinking fountain I found was broken. A beautiful sunset. Unfortunately, there is a lot of trash, despite there being few trash cans, and some people throw trash on the ground. A beautiful viewpoint, but very dirty and stinking of urine. It is the home of the alligator Alfredo. (Original) Uma lagoa grande, muito bonita, gramas, parte para caminhar no passeio. O bebedouro que achei ,estragado. Um pôr do sol lindo.
