One of the most amazing National Parks in Brazil. Petrópolis - Teresópolis trail is a must. Among other attractions are "Dedo de Deus", waterfalls and breathtaking viewpoints.

This is a super beautiful park area that I visited in Teresopolis. I really enjoyed the fun of walking across all the rocks and sitting under the several waterfalls. This was during January and the weather was just perfect. I hope to visit the beautiful place again.

I hiked from Petropolis to Teresopolis and it was one of the most technically difficult hikes I've done. There is this one part called the "little horse" where the only way to continue is to take your backpack off, grab the rock, swing your leg over the rock, and use your momentum to hoist your body on and over this large rock. Did I mention that this all takes place on cliff where if you fall you die? Yep! It was worth it and so incredibly beautiful but the trail is no joke! Doable if you do it in 2-3 days (carrying your camping gear) but a lot of altitude! I have hiked 36km/day in the snow, and found this hike to be a challenge physically and mentally.

Beautiful park, with a fun little road that goes a few km into the jungle. The view at the end of the Cartão Postal trail is worth the hike, but be warned that it's not easy. Don't attempt it if you're not in shape.

I really enjoyed the park. It has many waterfalls with small natural pools. Accessible, requires a short hiking of 5-10 minutes to get to most of the natural pools. Very relaxing and calm.

Access is free on Wednesdays and is a self tour across the palace. It takes about 1hr if you pay attention to the details. Worth visiting in Petrópolis.

It is a cultural visit to understand how was the daily basics of the emperor and he's wife and way to do so.

If you were a bad student as me, this is the opportunity to know the history of Brazil. We have just 63 years of kingdom here in Brazil but until our "freedom" or beginning of the democrat republicans there are very interesting issues inside the museum.

Beautiful palace. Mostly everything written in portuguese You can pay CASH ONLY! The slippers that they give you to put on your shoes are very dangerous and disgusting dirty. Could search for another option for visitors! No photos allowed.

You're required to wear slippers over your shoes to protect the floors, but unfortunately they are one size fits some and you'll likely be pseudo-skating around the museum. Also, you're required to check all belongings before entering, including cameras. Photography is not allowed inside, with or without flash. Other than these minor things, worth the trip! Definitely recommend, just be aware what you're in for.

Quite interesting to see how decadent the royal family was while their countries (Brazil and Portugal) suffered. The museum is free sometimes and cheap the rest of the time. It would get 5 stars if they allowed photos inside and dispensed with the awkward slippers they furnish you to preserve the hardwood floors.

I had an amazing experience at Restaurante Cervejaria Bohemia in Petrópolis. The setting is beautiful — inside the historic Bohemia brewery — and the ambiance is lively yet cozy. The food was outstanding! I had the Angus flat iron steak, perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. Everything is clearly designed to pair with their incredible craft beers, which are brewed right there on-site. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the view from the upstairs restaurant added a special touch. After lunch, I visited the brewery museum — which I highly recommend if you’re into beer culture or Brazilian history.

Brazil's oldest brewery was founded by German immigrants in the mountainous summer getaway of Petrópolis in 1853. It was once the preferred beer of the Portuguese royal family. While mass production shifted to São Paulo in 1998, Bohemia reopened its original location in 2012 as a specialty brewery museum, bar, and restaurant. The interactive guided tour explores the history of beer and specifically Bohemia, offering tastings and a visit to the barrel-aging beer cave.

Esther was an excellent guide! She gave thoughtful, funny and kind insights of the beer process and its history. She also always made sure we had no questions left. Amazing work!

Absolutely 5 stars. The venue is very well mainland the 44 real tour was amazing. They did a great job explaining beer making process and so many fun facts.

This was one of the best parts of my visit in Petropolis. The first half of the tour is a museum of the history and science of beer. The displays are in Portuguese, but almost all of them have English translations. The displays were beautiful and informative. The last half is a guided tour. Our guide spoke in Portuguese, which was difficult for me. However, most of the displays were straightforward enough and interesting enough that I wasn't bored and didn't feel left out. After the guided tour, we were given a flight of 3 different beers to taste (and children were given juice so they didn't feel left out). The gift shop had many great gifts for me to bring back home. The restaurant had great vegetarian options (and of course, beer), and the service was excellent. I highly recommend you do this tour!

Didn't know this story, but it was the highlight of the whole "Petropolis" tour for me, being that I love aviation.

Nice place, can see why he built a glider to get to the bottom of the mountain. He was a bit later to fly, just after the Wright Brothers.

The House of Santos Dumont is a great place to visit. I got surprised when I saw how simple he lived behind the big intelligence he had. The history of this great person brings pride of such human and the benefits he brought to the humandade.

Beautiful site with a rich history and gorgeous scale replicas of Santos' creations, and the original house designed by Santos Dumont himself. The entrance fee is decent, and they offer a video (with English subtitles) that tells the true story of Mr. Dumont. This is a must-visit site for fans of aviation history. Keep in mind the stairs are steep (which is part of the original history of the house), but there is an elevator available for people who have difficulty.

Very good attraction. It gets really busy so be prepared to be pushing and shoving. Everybody is trying to get the best spot to record the videos. They do have nice foods and souvenir shop on top of the mountain. There is always entertainment going on like live music.

Sugarloaf in Rio offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, beaches, and mountains, absolutely worth the visit. The cable car ride is smooth and scenic. It can get very crowded, especially during peak hours, so try to go early or on a weekday. There are a few shops and places to grab a snack at the top, but prices are a bit high. Still, the overall experience is unforgettable and a must-do while in Rio!

We came here early to avoid the long line. A glass cable car carried us to the top of iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, actually expect to ride second cable car to real mountain top, which is a symbol of the city, in ideal conditions, I supposed to see the stunning panorama of the beaches, Corcovado Mountain, downtown Rio, and Guanabara Bay, etc. actually what you can see is by chance, the mist of cloud always come across to make you wonder, and it's hard to take a good picture of the stunning panoramic view of bay. There are squirrel-like primates called marmosets which can be spotted near the cable car stations and trails on the mountain , a species native to eastern Brazil. The tourists are discouraged to feed them.

A world class experience. Preferable to book the cable car tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. There are queues to board and alight from the cable cars. The 2 levels of the cable car stations provide varied views of the city of Rio from the top. The vistas are breathtaking. It can get a little cold at the top, so dress accordingly. The Christ Redeemer statue can be seen from the top. There a few expensive stores and good cafés at the top. Toilet and drinking water facilities are good. Best time to visit is around the sunset time to get the night views of the city.

It could really be pack after 10am. So, if you’d like a nice photo, do go early! We had to go back a 2nd time to get nice photo taken without people everywhere!

The stairs themselves are stunning but the sheer number of people trying to pose on them makes it overwhelming and takes away from the art. Go early or in the rain for the best chance at a decent view. The street leading up to the steps is full of souvenir stalls that are actually pretty well priced compared to the same stuff at Christ the Redeemer or Ipanema.

I came here twice, solely because it was so ridiculously busy the first time I thought it deserved a second go. The first was on a Saturday around 12. It was so insanely busy you could barely move let alone get any sort of pictures or enjoyment. The second was on a Monday around 10:30 it was still very busy but far less people. You could walk without getting in the way of to many people's photos and find a spot to take your own. Well the stairs are very beautiful, and it is completely free. I wouldn't say it is an absolute must see. If it's a stop on your tour, or nearby where you're staying I think go for it. But I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Such an amazing vibe with beautiful artwork on the steps. It can be a bit crowded, but it is so worth the trip. Grab a caprihana and stroll on up the steps. Great little shops at the bottom to check out too.

Easy to miss if you're going from up top. The stair view can be enjoyed from tje bottom only. They're located on a 5-10 minute walk from the cathedral and are definitely worth a visit.

Sept.25: would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't so overcrowded. We unfortunately visited on Sunday afternoon, lots of tourists which all took their time to get pictures... It was even hard only to enter the stairs just to go up.

This place is an iconic one. I went there late in the afternoon and was packed! Still, flocks of people would come and go leaving good time to take pictures. However, the best moment to be there is very very early in the morning like 6.30am, sun rises around 6-6.18am so it'll be well lit and everything, and most importantly, empty! You don't need to buy a ticket to enter this place since it's open for everyone. Just be careful of your belongings as always, pay attention to your surroundings and you'd be just fine! If you have enough time it's really amazing to really pay attention to the different ceramic tiles, also, be careful on where you step, after all it's ceramic so it can be slippery or tricky at times.

The beach is beautiful. It was a bit wavy given I visited in the end of September and the water was a bit cold but it was really enjoyable and refreshing on hot days. There are many retailers that occasionally can try hard to sell whatever they have. It should also be known that this is not the safest place to be. One has to be very careful with his belongings and where to sit to avoid

Sept.25: We went to the famous Copacabana Beach. We taught it would be crowded as it was weekend, however this wasn't the case. There were a lot of local vendors selling all kinds of stuff & many different food, icecreams & drinks. Some brought a complete umbrella with bikinis & thongs as well as really nice looking grilled big scampis (we didn't try as we didn't know how long they were exposed to sun, etc.) & many more. As we need to get the Copacabana beach vipe, we bought a 700ML freshly pressed lime caipirinha. Delicious, but with the sun & almost on an empty stomach; I got hit very fast. In the far we saw Christ the Redeemer (big, famous Jezus statue of 30 m height on a hill), we hope to visit one of these days.

One of the famous beaches in the world was worth visiting. A fairly clean that has many things to offer - from food stalls to watching people play volleyball, soccer and other games, enjoying a nice drink, snacks and food. A good place to get your morning or afternoon walk/run as well. A safe place compared to some parts of Rio. From good to excellent hotels across the beach.

Loved this beach, it is great for long walks, it’s clean enough, it’s possible to see a beautiful sunset there. Really liked the fact that it was possible to pay by card for sunbeds, umbrellas and drinks. It’s often very busy there and I loved that vibe.

A fullfilment of one of my traveling dreams was to visit the statue and admire the views over the city. Might be crowded from time to time but with some spare time you'll get to experience everything easily with one visit. Pre-purchased tickets recommended and can be changed for instance due to weather conditions.

It’s unthinkable to visit Rio without getting up close to this iconic statue. Access via the inclined tramway, a few steps and an escalator is easy. It was very misty when I visited and so not too crowded. Thankfully the mist lifted enough to see this beautiful statue, although views of the city remained really limited. The little chapel built into the rear of the statue was a pleasant surprise. I can’t begin to imagine how crowded it must get on a clear day, but you must visit.

There’s literally nothing to say about this attraction other than wow. The feeling you get seeing something in person after seeing it so many times on TV is amazing. I’m surprised how organised they are. They have lift an escalators on top of the mountain. They are plenty of shops and food court. They do daily shows like Samba dancing.

It's worth it. Visiting what's Rio famous for. You can see Rio from the top. The journey to the top was amazing, great views and weather. It's bigger than I thought. Sometimes it's crowded and sometimes you can take photos or ask someone to take it for you. Beautiful memories. Go early and book online there is a website for the train and tickets flr the Redeemer on site. When you arrive There will be a short line and a gift store.

You can't visit Rio without visiting Christo. It's way up in the national park but visits are well organised and comfortable to all, including those with mobility issues! And the views are spectacular too!

Great beach stunning views of the mountains. Come with a group that preferably speaks Portuguese, people come up to you constantly trying to sell things and also ask for selfies. Beautiful people and great water, but with only two people it did feel very vulnerable.

The beach is spectacular and really good for people watching and sunbathing. It is never boring to stroll along the beach and notice all the happenings. Plenty of vendors to dine and entertain.

Probably the most beautiful beach in Rio, much better than Copacabana due to the view. There are vendors and people who rent umbrellas and such, but they were never too pushy like some people say. Overall a very chill vibe. I recommend buying the street corner as a snack, it’s very good!

Amazing beach, but NEVER buy anything from the walking sellers. I paied 1000$ for one caipirinha😢 They hacked the paymemt terminal , even applepay doesn’ help. So be careful

Ipanema Beach is absolutely stunning! The golden sand, turquoise waters, and breathtaking view of the Dois Irmãos mountains make it one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The atmosphere is lively, with beach vendors, music, and people playing footvolley. The sunset here is unforgettable! It's a great spot to relax, but also perfect if you're looking for a more social beach experience. Just be mindful of your belongings, as petty theft can be an issue. Overall, a must-visit when in Rio! 🌊☀️🏖️

The beach itself is lovely but the beach vendor paraiso tropical 96 ruined the day. If you go to the beach avoid Paraiso Tropical 96!!!!!!Completely over charged us. €141 (850 Brazil Real) for two chairs, an umbrella and two waters.

Very nice museum. It's more an ethnic museum, where your can find handicrafts made by different ethnicities around Brazil. It's small but with an excellent and new discursive narrative

Such an amazing place. From the tram station ride to the mountain top to the steps up the cliffside. The views are incredible and on a clear day like today you can see for hundreds of miles. Jutting out from the ocean you can see the sugarloafs and landscapes. Take your time and spend the day there. Have lunch or a snack be sure to bring water and hydrate and just enjoy. I shot these arial pictures and videos with a dji mini pro 3 drone. You can see full edits on my YouTube channel. I hope you can feel the breathtaking images.

If your intention is to have a good sports day away from the beach, this is a great alternative.There are many different hiking trails here from the very easy to much more complex ones and even a trail for the seeing impaired!!! 👀 we went with a guide, a tour that ended up being very interesting.But there were many groups of people that were just in groups doing their own thing , so I don't necessarily think you have to have a guide. There's a cup of nice waterfalls , not all of them you can bathe in , but the one that we visited for swimming was more of a shower than actual swimming pond! Good place to also escape the heat of the city.Even though we were told by our guide that when it's very hot outside , it gets double hot sauna style in there. Unfortunately, for us, we did not get to see many animals.We heard lots of birds that we did not see and we saw some monkeys.But I was hoping to see much more.And unfortunately when we went that was not the case. As far as what you should wear while you're there , we were in sneakers and t shirt and shorts. We did see some people wearing tall hiking boots and walking sticks. The bathrooms in the park itself are free.But there are trails that have a cafe with bathrooms but they charge almost 4 reals .. You are discouraged at all times of feeding the animals however I did see some locals giving bananas to the monkeys.

A unique experience at Tijuca National Park with our guide Erik from Get Your Guide. He was incredibly friendly, informative, and encouraged us to fully enjoy the caves and trails. The hike through the jungle was absolutely worth it—beautiful views, rich nature, and even some wildlife sightings.

A local friend booked us on the Indiana Jungle Tour which I enjoyed very much!!! Don’t miss the Museum Açude built circa 1920-30s. Antonio and fernando are great guide!!i appreciated their knowledge of the jungles plants。

It took us about 2.5 hrs to hike up to the Pico de Tijuca and the views were breathtaking.

Tijuca National Park was great. It hike was very Chakraborty but so worth every step. We saw toucans and monkeys. It was quite the experience. We really enjoyed ourselves. Entering the bat caves was a highlight for all of us. I totally recommend Tijuca National Park for anyone up for a challenging hike and any with a desire to see a real Brazilian rain forest.

The national park is stunning! As you venture deeper into the forest, the scenery becomes increasingly breathtaking. I had a great time biking here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Along with catching a glimpse of the Christ Reemder view, I also had the chance to observe a variety of trees, bamboo forests, birds, monkeys, and even pythons. The forest is adorned with intermittent waterfalls that add to its charm. This location is a must-visit for any nature enthusiast.

Hello tourists.This is RECREIO beach.A strip of sand for about 10 km or so.It´s after Barra and before Macumba and the stone.It was wild back them,nobody at all.There you see a labor city and none peasant,athlete or entertainer.It´s only sand,no stones or bricks in the way.I remeber a nature with stone in the middle of the beach ahead ,in Prainha and macumba is cut by a stone also. The quiosques still about old generation,I think few of woods,closed long time with only a few fidel customers or so.It´s about yourselve. The beach has nothing actually.If you have cash or seek hanging or so.I loved do this course by myself,admire femsle athletes and very loyals.But even for a bolshoii dancer she would complain a lot about so much studies in her country to see litter,low wages and people struggling close to her.And many other complains.... Was good,her coach would avise her.I am sure she understand only of practice. Maybe kyte needs crowds or close to civilization,nobody is up to show and desert brazil. This is our biggest beach and desert so far. No safe guards,dangerous waters. No kind at all. Good walk!

The beach itself is amazing, beautiful it blends the city with nature, just by turning around a corner.. Great options to eat seafood based meals and an amazing spot for surfing. Which makes it not so welcoming to swimmers, cause there usually are a lots of waves. Phone reception over there is really bad, so getting an uber to leave the place might be an ordeal, i'd recommend a car, a bycicle or accept the fact that you might have to walk back part of the way before u can get Internet again (but there is a chance that u'll get internet over there).

Amazing scenery beach in Rio. Great for those who surf. Families are welcome too. I recommend you to visit it before 11h am specially during the weekends when it gets crowded.

Great beach in a little cove. Water is great, ground is firm unlike other beaches, and waves are pretty good sized to body surf and swing in.

I call this place the Hawaii of Rio!! It is beautiful, clean, safe and full of waves. The restaurant located at the point is pretty tasty and a little pricy. Prainha is a must when visiting Rio!!!

One of Rio' best beachs, prainha is small and full of natural florest. It is loved by the surf community.

Lovely beach. Go during the day, while the sun is up! Just make sure it doesn't get dark while you are at Prainha beach, we couldn't find a taxi and struggled a bit as wifi connection didn't work well either.

Relaxing coast about 1 hour to 90 minute away from copa. Less people and nude optional. Be ware the phone reception isn’t the best so calling a Uber to return to ipenma isn’t straight forward

Great bar and great atmosphere. It's well worth the trip out here and it's also a great spot for a swim. We were here mid week in the early afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all, but imagine it'd get crowded on weekends.

Two places in one. If looking at the sea, on your right you have the regular beach, but on your left (passing those large rocks) you got a nudist beach. The whole place is wonderful. Today the water was clean and transparent, so you could see your feet. The only problem is to get back home, since there's not phone signal there. You should schedule with a driver to pick you up.

Fantastic as it’s calmer for kids. Warm water. Fun for adults as well.

Hidden gem. If you walk past the left side corner and go by and around big rocks on the beach sand you get access to the naturist area where clothing is optional. Great place to go for a swim and hang out for a bit in nature. It could really be an idilic place if it were not for the super weird men who are there not to be in harmony with nature but rather to let their sexual nature come out aggressively and extremely impolitely.

Excellent beach. Sea is rough in the middle. Recommend staying on the right hand side of the beach, close to the rocks. The water is a bit calmer there and a car park is available.

Bit far from the city if you don’t have a car but definitely the most beautiful beach in Rio

Soft soft white beach when you step on the sand its like stepping into fresh snow that crunch sound! We walked from Abraão beach through the forest. If you are a hiker I recommend it, its a 2hr hike. BUT I’m not a hiker so took us 3 hrs while it was beautiful and we saw monkeys and birds if i do it again I’d take a boat so i have more time on the beach

Very good beach if you are a surfer. There are large waves there. If you want to swim this isn't the place. There are surfing schools on the beach, stands with drinks. There is no taxi boat that you can take from there (unless you have arranged pick up in advance).

The life guards mark most of the beach unsafe to swim and only leave a small part open in front of their watch tower. But that part is so shallow that it's not possible to swim there and beyond that there are huge waves so again not swimmable. The best thing about the beach is that it is so big you can find a spot with no one around. The trail to get there from the drop off point is about 20 minutes and you can see some cute looking monkeys there if you're lucky.

The locals are there to help you slide. Ask them to take you into the waterfall right next to it. You can enter the waterfall, chill inside and then slide out again. Amazing experience! It is all for free but if you appreciate locals' help, you can give them a tip in the tip jar hanging on the tree next to the slide. Absolutely recommended to anyone staying in Paraty! Taxis will take you here for about 40 Reals.

Nice place to visit. Destination for a lot of tour buses, so it was pretty busy when we were there. Lots of shops selling the usual tourist fare. The water was pretty and interesting. We did not find any actual trails to hike, which would have been nice and would have gotten us away from the crowds. There is parking but it was pretty full when we were there.

I wasn't there to buy anything so I enjoyed just looking around, however, if you were going to buy something it's not very cheap. Example: a Maybelline mascara costs 80 Reais which, for an American, would be $20.00. I would economize, look around, and maybe buy something small, but don't go there for a shopping spree. The food court is great with several options, but, again, the prices and portions are wild for me as a foreigner. Overall, the mall is pretty and clean and I would come here again just to see the different stores.

It is also forbidden to leave your pet at the entrance like many other places allow you to. So, if your pet is a lil fatty like mine, choose a different place to go to. Appart from that, very best mall in town.

Amazing place to go with your family specially if you have kids, they will love it. The trails is quit long for small child's and they don't have accessibility, or if you go with a small kids you will have to carry them during some stages of the trail, but apart of it is an excellent place to visit. I recommend to arrive after lunch in hot days, you will need around 3 hours to do the course. It has a restaurant and cafeteria to eat.

The vip pass should be incorporated into a ticket, but to pay R$200 in addition to $170 for entry was too crazy especially when buying 4 tickets. If you only have cash their is a location after the Egyptian site that issues a rechargeable card.

Amazing place more suitable for older kids maybe 8 to 9 years cause the interesting games are for older kids. But it is an amazing structure full of games you would need a whole day for this. The restaurants are not very practical for kids and not super clean. But overall amazing place.

It's a good place, the biggest problem is there's no free water to drink, covid is over already but you can't find water, only way it's to buy a water bottle. The hamburger is really bad but at least is cheap, the buildings is in need of repairs. Now on the good side, a lot of attractions, a big team to help you, organized line and almost all works are smiling.

Hopi Hari is a nice theme park to spend a day. I highly recommend purchasing the VIP pass because the line wait times prevented us from riding all the rides; the VIP pass is quite expensive though. The rides we rode were fun and the evening show was amazing! The food quality was average but I enjoyed the bacon and cheddar fries.

Great place! The day I visited (Feb 9th 2019) the park was very clean and with just a few people inside, I would say 2500 people. The lines were incredibly fast. The restaurants had slow service. The park is recovering from a strong crisis. It has been refurbished and everything is shining new, but the low number of visitors is still a sign that it still have a long way to go. But I loved it! 10!

A great place to spend a day with or without children. There are lots of different and varied facilities. It is not possible to pay on the spot in cash just to recharge a card or credit card. The icing on the cake was that anyone who has a birthday gets another card as a gift 🤩

Great park with very interesting concept: the place is its own country, and fun is the main rule. Unfortunately, they've always had financial issues, which currently leads to ever-in-maintenance attractions and the feeling that all of its potential is going to waste. Some of the coolest attractions were closed on February-21, when we visited the park. Employees are polite and gentle, but nothing compares to the reception at the entrance: clowns and other artists sing, dance and welcome the public, with contagious joy and excitement. They also seem concerned about COVID and wearing a mask is required at 100% of times, besides every attraction is cleaned with alcohol after a guest leaves. Attractions are not as radical as they seem, but roller coasters are definitely worth the experience. The wooden one is not only impressive, but it also crosses the road near the park, and is an unique experience. To avoid the kilometric lines, it's recommended to acquire a VIP pass. However, it costs BRL 120 or more (depending on the day), twice the entrance ticket value. This is expensive for Brazilian standards, but unfortunately it's the only way to have fun and enjoy your day at the park without wasting hours waiting in line. Food is overall too expensive and not tasty, so it's also recommended to take some snacks and try not to eat much. Taking water and sunscreen is also the most important thing and this is located on the countryside, and sun seems to hit differently when compared to São Paulo. To save money, take an Uber from Jundiaí train station. Overall, park fans can get a great experience for an expensive price. I wouldn't recommend it for people who are not willing to spend money, people who are not already willing to give it a chance, or very tall or large people (attractions seem designed for smaller and skinnier people. Most are not fit for people above 120kg, so a bigger person wouldn't fit a roller coaster seat, for example)
