This is a must do detour to try local beer and stay overnight in amazing lodging options
Just driving to this area is worth it. We took the 2.5 hour route leaving BR-101 from Fundão, then Santa Teresa, Santa Maria de Jetibá, Garrafão, before reaching Aracê. Beautiful route. To top it off, the even more beautiful Pedra Azul. We drove to the entrance of the park. Quite touristy and busy. Most people stay here for some photos and a visit to the restaurant and shop. Luckily so. Although right of the restaurant it stated that all trails were closed for the day since maximum of 150 persons was sold out, you can still walk about 1.5km up the mountain to the Park Rangers post. Only there the trails actually start that were limited access with permit. That first walk is highly recommended and easy to do for all, although flat shoes with profile is recommended. There is also a small beautiful cherry tree park just below the post that you can visit.

Really nice trails for hiking, taking around 2 hours to complete. There are natural pools for the cold water lovers.

Undoubtedly this is the hottest beach in the state. It is a small beach and it can get really, but REALLY packed in the summer or during some holidays, and you will see pretty much everything and everyone who wants to see and be seeing. It's a must go if if you want the summer jetset, and also if you want a calm bech (but for this you should not go during the hot season).
This a very nice and beautiful beach. Gentle waves and family atmosphere. I would put 5 stars if during high tide there is no beach. Low tide is best.
Be ready to rent an umbrella and beach chairs and pay top dollar for them!!

If you are looking for a not quite like like a Rio copacobana experience, but in a save family environment, were nobody will ask you to explore the yield of your wallet, that is the place to be. The beach takes 40 min to walk from one end to the other (to make it back, do the math) developments to the left (looking out to the Atlantic) are fancier. Great place to relax, the beach is calm, and nicely cleaned every evening. I enjoyed the new year fireworks followed by what seemed to be an endless party without a visible deminishing number of partying folks until I hit the pillow at about 4:30. Great family beach close to Victoria. If you want to be on a lonely beach, go way south where the natives freeze to death when tipping their toe (Praia do Rosa). I enjoyed my stay at Praia do Morro....

Did not enter the park just dropped of the kids. This is by far the worst public road to drive to a public scene like a waterpark. Do not count the potholes but count the meters without them. It seems you're lost but you are on the right track. Your car suspension is going to suffer though. Entrance fee about 60reais per person.
We went here as a couple without kids and it was still fun. More or less. Why do they charge the watertubes for one person but not the ones for two people? Covid can't be it. Of course our watertubes were gone right after we let them out of our sight. Weird system. The slide with the carpet was great, though!
Great place to go with a family! Nature is all around, monkeys, canarios, maritacas, deers, and the Atlantic coastal vegetation. From there you can few the Ocean brise! A must go on Espirito Santo. I highly recommend it. Five years on the row and will be there again on the Winter of 2021☀️.

Sobre a viagem de trem: foi bem tranquila! Antes de embarcar é necessário apresentar o bilhete junto com um documento com foto. Chegue bem antes na Estação por conta da fila. A viagem é muito boa, os vagões são bem climatizados, possui televisão, banheiros limpos com sistema a vácuo, com pia e secagem das mãos a ar. Os funcionários são super simpáticos e prestativos. Sempre passam oferecendo sacolinhas pra recolher os lixos, com vassoura pra fazer limpeza, oferecem assistência pra carregar malas, ajudar idosos. Você pode caminhar livremente nos vagões, ir ao restaurante fazer o pedido. Os funcionários passam com carrinhos oferecendo o café, lanches e pra fazer a reserva do almoço! Aqui vale uma dica: leva dinheiro em espécie porque há pontos que o wi-fi não funciona e não dá pra fazer o pagamento no cartão. O almoço é bom, a comida é leve. Segue fotos dos cardápios pra se ter uma noção do valor! Sugiro levar lanches, frutas, água mineral, sucos pra serem consumidos durante a viagem! O wi-fi a bordo não funciona, infelizmente é necessário chegar em alguma estação pra ter cobertura de rede! O embarque e desembarque de passageiros nas estações entre a Pedro Nolasco e a de Belo Horizonte é bem rápida. Há uma excelente comunicação interna (via rádio) sobre atrasos ou imprevistos. Há conforto nos assentos e é bom colocar as malas em cima pra melhor acomodação. Infelizmente na viagem teve crianças que gritavam muito, conversavam alto e não tinham educação, corriam pelo vagão, isso causou um estresse nos passageiros que queriam dormir, conversar ou mesmo aproveitar o tempo pra fazer uma leitura! No mais vale muito a pena a experiência! A viagem proporcionou conhecer lugares lindos, chegar com tranquilidade e segurança a Belo Horizonte.
