The Museu da Água de Piracicaba Francisco Salgot Castillon is a charming destination that highlights the vital role of water in the city’s history and management. This small yet engaging museum features interactive exhibits that delve into water conservation, showcasing models and aquariums filled with local fish. Visitors can explore the fascinating remnants of pre-electricity waterworks, including operational turbines over a century old.
Cute small museum about the water management around Piracicaba. The entrance is free and you can nicely walk around in the museum area. The museum has some models to explain the water management, aquariums with some fish, the old water cleaning facilities. In my opinion there could be more information in different parts of the museum. Parking closeby the museum is very easy on the street.

Thermas de São Pedro

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Thermas Water Park is a spacious and enjoyable destination, boasting an array of attractions such as wave pools, slides, waterfalls, and a designated area for children. Snack kiosks cater to visitors' refreshment needs. However, during peak times like October 2022 holidays, the park tends to get overcrowded with long waiting times for popular rides, food services, and restrooms. The limited seating arrangement requires early arrival to secure tables and chairs.
Worth the 180R price tag! We had an amazing fun packed day and only wish we could have stayed longer! They should stay open until 7pm for sure. The wave pool is so much fun and just when you think you have been everywhere there is LOADS more! The only downfall is not being able to bring your own food and drink into the park, I think they would attract more customers if that was the case because once you have paid 180R entrance (I think it's a little bit cheaper if you book online) then you pay 25R for the locker, 25R for the parking and THEN have to pay for food and drink all day it does start to add up, especially if you have a family! However, this will not deter me from going again and again! It looks like they are adding more attractions as well so it can only get better. I wasn't sure what the point of the big castle was but it was nice to look at. I would prefer the lazy river to be deeper and also have a pool that's deep for proper swimming. BEWARE the umbrellas at the table are made from plastic and not material so you can get a nasty bump on the head if you walk into one 😂 GREAT PLACE. Next time we will book to stay there!
Rebecca B — Google review
Is everything going to be fine and the personal make good job nice place for family ist clean and perfect 🤩 really we liked but we pay really more many for just one day, I have just question? Why the people pay for parking that is not good this is not right i think you need be free for people come visit .
2gether B — Google review
The place is nice but has some design flaws. I really like the wave pool, it has around the right depth and having waves for a full 30 minutes every hour is something I did not see in a park before, so that is great. The downside is that the wave pool is not that clean, multiple floating tooth picks and other trash (a pity). The other pools are more clean, but not all pools are transparent. The warmed pool is nice but I find that the pool is very shallow, less than a meter. It is nice that they play music around here and the pool is big enough that you can choose how hard you want the music (by changing the distance). The volcano has just too shallow pools, the pool of just 20 cm deep is a bit useless. The small stream also is too shallow, with 40 cm you cannot really float in the small stream but rather need to almost walk it. The water slides are very nice, but I think they should do something about small kids that move slow on the water slides because they are too light. This makes the lines long and also is not fun for the kids because they basically gets stuck in the slides, this is a problem for the blue whale water slide, the other blue slide, red slide, white/green and white/yellow slide. Maybe more water is a solution?overall, I really like the selection of different water slides and with around 10 slides in the park this is great. I also like they have a large part for young kids to play with water. The food I considered quite affordable in the park, pastels for 12 real is great. The pay per Kilo restaurant is a bit on the expensive side. At the entrance they check you bags for dangerous items. The parking is well arranged in the park. The park claims to be an international park, but one of the things not possible is buying tickets on the creditcard of a non-brazilian person. One thing I miss is a pool that is around 2 meters deep such that you can jump well. I considered the toilets nicely clean. Lockers are decent size.
F. N — Google review
This is a small good place to enjoy. Slides are rather boring, no speed going down and long waiting times to enter. Food is reasonable quality and price. Buying the credits on the card for food is annoying and time consuming. There is 1 thing I really hate about the place (many Brazilian places do this!) when buying the tickets or upgrading your food card, they ask for your social security number. When you buy tickets online, after this process within 5 minutes to start calling and harassing you to sell you stuff. It should be forbidden by law. Asking your social security number is an insult and an infringement on your privacy.
Edwin K — Google review
We went there on a holiday, October, 2022. We arrived at around 9:20, but there were already a lot of people. Around noon, it’s too crowded. We needed to wait for everything, for example, water slider, cafeteria and bathroom. And also there was no enough space in the pool. In addition, their table and chair were limited, we secured it at 9:30. So it’s better to go there early time to save the table and chair. It’s great place for family but we recommend to consider the good date.
Papipupenta — Google review
Surprisingly very small and only really for very small children. My 10 year old cousins were bored by mid-day
Isaac Y — Google review
Incredible pools, great place for kids, great food. Prices are more expensive on weekends.
Jefferson B — Google review
Great fun day out at water park. Thermas water park is a lovely spot. White slides need to add bit more water avoid long queues cause that slide take you slow.

(Translated by Google) Don't come without a car! Very long trails with no place to sit. And the website doesn't advise that it is recommended to go by car (60 min walk). The photos of the place are beautiful (and there are really beautiful parts), but most of the trail is paved. So it is very uncomfortable for those who are walking (with the cars passing by it makes it even more uncomfortable). The end of the trail does have some things to do, but the river was full of trash and the museum is under renovation and there is no notice of when it will reopen. But there are some nice houses and shops.

Of course, it needs maintenance, better signage on the trails and construction of the bridge over the river for the 9km trail, but despite this, for me, who has known it since childhood, it continues to be the best experience in the city. But hey, nothing says 'true love' like sharing your candlelit dinner with the local wildlife. Casorova isn't just a resort; it's an experience of nature and hydrodynamics. So pack light, get ready to rinse and repeat, and prepare for an unforgettable adventure. Bonus points if you leave looking like a wrinkled raisin from all the water exposure!

The staff is incredible, everyone is super attentive and helpful. The hotel food is amazing, there is a lot of variety and everything is prepared with great care. The paradise, an area with a pool exclusively for guests, is charming and made our stay at the hotel much more enjoyable. The trails to the waterfalls and the lake with rowing sports add a nice touch to the peaceful atmosphere of the common areas. The bungalow's exclusive hot tub and hot water pools make the hotel a perfect place to relax at any time of the day.

Very beautiful and well cared for. Trails are well maintained and easily accessible. Bathrooms could be in slightly better shape with better doors and hangers. It's necessary to have other credit card options for when it rains, so clients don't have to deal with being unable to pay for entrance or food due to lack of internet service. Would definitely recommend!

Areia Que Canta

Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Rural farmstay with a lake, offering water sports, fishing & dining, plus indoor & outdoor pools.
Well maintained resort near Brotas with lots of activities for adults and children. The room was fine and the grounds and staff were amazing. Several swimming pools, a short zip lining adveture, trails to hike, a gym and spa, kayaking, volleyball and basketball courts and tubing down a river. The food was amazing and offered 4 times a day. Great family atmosphere.
Ian S — Google review
The place was different from anything I ever experienced but it had its pros and it’s cons. First with the cons, the rooms were nasty, that’s the only true way I could describe it. There we millions of ants in the bathroom and we even found a HUGE spider (which we later found out was poisonous) in our room. Also the doors nor the windows would close properly and would bang because of the wind. That made it very difficult to get sleep. The rooms were really the only cons so now with the pros. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone in my family (and we’re a big group) loved it. The service also was outstanding and we never ran out of things to do. From swimming, zip lining, going on trails, the gym, the spa, eating all the time, kayaking, paddle boating, going on water slides there was always something you wanted to do. The kids club was great for the kids and they were very welcoming and friendly. Overall this experience I would give a 3 or 4 star (only because of the rooms)!

Very well managed, facilities in pristine condition... Sports and aquatic activities are the staple, besides the famous small pond that the Guarani aquifer pumps up at a rate of 70k liters per hour. Guided visits and monitored activities all day. Form São Paulo, a little on the far side, so three days work best. I'll try to come back more times.
Roberto S — Google review
The best resort me and my family haver ever been, by far. The infrastructure, the nature, the hospitality, and all the lovely employees make the visit outstanding. The meals are served in buffet style and there is a huge variety, for all tastes. There are plenty of activities available all day long although I thoroughly recomend a visit to the " singing sand" fountain, which is in my opnion an unique experience (unmissable). I highly recomend for families, singles, and all kind of people regardless if you want a break on the routine or if you desire some adventure.
Rodrigo P — Google review
Price does not match the product and service. Although nature is beautiful and makes the place awesome, it's infrastructure, specially the rooms, does not match the price asked for the stay. The singing sand spring is off course, a nature gift to the place.

The zoo São Carlos Ecological Park is a cost-free, expansive green area with dense vegetation. There are various food and toy vendors near the entrance. The park offers two entrances; one leads to a children's playground and picnic tables while the other provides access to geese, birds, snakes, and other mammals. Located just 5 km from the city center, this natural spot is easily accessible and suitable for visits both on weekdays and weekends. It even hosts evening activities.
Lovely place to visit in São Carlos. Free entry. We spent 2 hours wandering around enjoying the beautiful surroundings which are really well maintained. Very tranquil slice of nature on the outskirts of the city. The animals and birds were lovely to see but the enclosures for most of them were too small which is unfortunate and should be addressed. Great place to bring kids and they have just built a lovely new playground.

State Park Vassununga

Nature & Parks
Fairground
Parque Estadual Vassununga is a hidden gem for nature lovers, offering a tranquil escape into the heart of Brazil's Atlantic Forest. The park is most famous for being home to **Patriarca da Floresta**, the oldest living tree in Brazil, estimated to be between 600 and 900 years old. This awe-inspiring Jequitibá Rosa stands 42 meters tall and is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. The park offers **free guided trails**, led by friendly and knowledgeable staff who share fascinating information about the local flora and fauna. All the trails are **easily accessible**, making it a pleasant experience for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're interested in a casual walk or learning about the region's biodiversity, the guides make the journey enjoyable and informative. I was very lucky to be accompanied by Bianca who was a wonderful guide. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The park is **not easy to access**, as there are no buses or public transportation leading to it, so visitors will need to plan their travel carefully. Additionally, there are **no food options or cafeterias** within the park, and it is prohibited to bring your own food in the park grounds. There is water and a toilet. Despite these small inconveniences, Parque Estadual Vassununga offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, explore well-maintained trails, and marvel at one of Brazil's oldest living trees.

This place is very nice to spent time with your family and friends. People working in SESC Araraquara are very polite and helpful. First that you can notice when you enter inside is cleanness and ladies that are cleaning around all the time. There is parking that costs 2 reais for all day long. There is swimming pool with warm water for children 0.5 m deep, there are two another, one 1.6 m and another 0.7 m deep. There is place where children can play, library, court for football, basketball, tennis, gym... Very often there are good concerts. Also there are free course for dancing. There is restaurant where you can eat good food (not expensive) and drink. If you are from Europe, don't take cappuccino, because they put sodium bicarbonate in it (common in Brazil), so it tastes like salt. Anyway, all my recommendations for people who came to Arararquara.

(Translated by Google) Masses are at 12:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. A very beautiful and traditional church. Formerly Matriz São Bento, now Basílica São Bento. Congratulations to the parish! It is a very large church, with a very tall and beautiful dome. The most beautiful thing in the church is, without a doubt, the painting of the Lord Jesus Christ holding the world in the center. Another wise decision by the parish was to add Gregorian chants that play during the day inside the church between masses, and the paintings and canvases that have been added. Church traditions like these that are being restored are very important and enhance our faith and our Works.

(Translated by Google) I just didn't like the price of the beer, for me it's an abuse to charge 12 reais for a can of Heineken. (Original) Só não gostei do preço da cerveja, para mim é um abuso cobrar 12 reais em 1 lata de Heineken

This was one of the best resorts we’ve ever been to. We have been to several others, but the food here is the best we’ve ever had. The service was also amazing and they were very attentive. The executive chef even came over to make sure we were happy with our meals. We were so grateful! We are from Canada and do not speak Portuguese and we were so surprised at how kind the staff were ; they helped us in every way they could

It's currently 10:35 pm and the music is blasting.. we are in the 10th floor. This is family hotel, I was expecting the music to end at 10. This is very excessive, my young children can not fall asleep. It's a nice hotel but this will make us not want to come back here.

The water park is recommended if you have small kids. The food is good but not great. Sometimes the meat was dry, dessert not so cold as some would require. The mattresses had deeps and bumps. Restricting some types of food to enter the water park was also a turn off.

Great experience. Room needs to fix a few things, remote TV not Woking, lights hanging and toilet loose but all in all was good. The park is crowded but it has enough space to get by with no problems. Clean and spacious...

History Museums
The Memorial do Peão de Boiadeiro museum unfortunately remains closed at the moment, which is a shame considering its impressive space. However, there are alternative attractions available in the area. For instance, Peaozinho Park offers a great experience for children to enjoy. Additionally, visitors have the option to explore the nearby Arena instead of the museum.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, we visited during the off-season. That is, today, July 23rd. It was closed for final renovations to mark Barretos' 70th anniversary. So, we were limited to the entrance. We weren't allowed in to see the facilities! But from what we saw, the place is truly spectacular. The only photos I have are from the outside.
