(Translated by Google) The place is very pretty, has been renovated and has a pleasant atmosphere for families. However, it seems that the water has a lot of leeches. I went with friends and this was our main complaint. We are not sure if they were small larvae or leeches (probably the latter), but there were lots of them.

(Translated by Google) The place is beautiful, there is a fee on holidays and weekends of 30 reais for those from out of town and 20 reais on weekdays, so I recommend going early, there are several bathing spots and a well-organized food court, security and lifeguards.

5a Praia - do Encanto, also known as "Quinta Praia" in Morro de Sao Paulo, is the perfect spot for those seeking tranquility and seclusion. It's situated about 5km from the 2nd beach and can be reached by walking along the 4th beach, crossing a mangrove and a small river. Visitors can also opt for a cart ride to get there.
(Translated by Google) I walked, easy access but tiring, about 7km, but the beauty of the place is worth it! The tide was low, which made it possible to enjoy several natural pools along the way. Bring water! (Original) Fui andando, acesso fácil porém cansativo, uns 7km aproximadamente, mas a beleza do lugar vale muito! (Translated by Google) The beach is beautiful! Far from the hustle and bustle of the beaches near the village of Morro, with few options for stopping for a beer or snacks, the strip of sand at low tide is beautiful, contrasting with the blue sky. It's a shame to have found so much plastic, an absurd amount, in the mangrove at the end of the beach. It's sad. (Original) A praia é linda! (Translated by Google) The beach is very quiet, completely different from the other beaches in Morro de São Paulo (which are always very crowded and busy...). I stayed at this beach for a short time, just to get to know it, but I don't recommend it for anyone who wants to swim because it's very shallow. I walked for a while and the water didn't go above my ankles (at high tide).

Quarta Praia

Outdoor Activities
Quarta Praia is a tranquil and secluded beach in Morro de Sao Paulo, known for its peaceful atmosphere and calm sea. It is one of the farthest beaches from the island's center, offering a long stretch of sand and delightful warm natural pools during low tide. The clear and warm waters attract numerous tourists seeking relaxation and natural beauty. Despite being less frequented due to its distance, it provides an ideal setting for those looking for restful moments away from the hustle and bustle.
Best beach in Morro. Quiet, very long and beautiful walk. We enjoyed spending time in the hammocks on the beach and had good fruit juices.
Gigi F — Google review
The sea is cleaner and clearer here, compared to 1,2,3 beaches. however it is shallow and full of rocks. so it's only for a dip/bath and not really for a swim at all. there are a handful of restaurant/bars or stalls here on the beach. the drawing point is that it is much more peaceful and beautiful than the first 2 beaches, where they are just way too busy.
MNML J — Google review
The beach is beautiful, but for those who want bath or swim, it’s better to keep walking till the second half of the beach
Bruno L — Google review
Really liked it. Away from the crowds of the other beaches that are closer to the town centre you'll find a nice beach with very little amount of people (takes a while to get there as you can only get there by foot I think). Because of that, unfortunately this isn't an option for people with reduced mobility. There are a couple of bars that (I think) serve some food (although we didn't eat). Not a place to watch the sunset, best during the morning/day time (till 16:30-17:00)
Isa A — Google review
Much quieter than in town. Worth walking here and sitting in the shade of the big trees after a splash.
Paolo D — Google review
It’s a very flat and shallow beach, even with the tide. The mud is very soft and is good for rubbing on your skin or throwing at your friends (or enemies, you choose). It’s the least crowded beach, especially farther south.
Angus B — Google review
This is the most peaceful and beautiful beach of Morro. When the tide is low you can swim in natural pools with many colorful fishes. The coast is designed with palm trees and other trees.

POUSADA FAROL DO MORRO is a laid-back hotel with an outdoor pool, pizzeria, and restaurant. The rooms offer stunning ocean views. For a different perspective of the island, visitors can climb up to the renowned Farol do Morro lighthouse for breathtaking sunset views. Additionally, guests can enjoy the nearby zipline arrival point and the lively Second Beach with its bars and restaurants. This hotel is praised for its beautiful location near the beach and friendly atmosphere.
One of the most beautiful hotels. The view is simply amazing and it is also near the beach..🔝😍🔝
Gianluca R — Google review
Just coming off of Covid19 restriction, this hotel wasn't as up to date for the price they charged. The rooms were adequate, but not magical. Lots of damage all around, the closet was breaking, the railing on the stairs was broken/dangerous. The pool closed, even though the other hotel pools were open. Over all, disappointing. The good, the staff was excellent, very helpful, and breakfast was very good. Overall, I would definitely select another hotel for my next visit.

2a Praia

Beach
Outdoor Activities
The 2a Praia in Morro de Sao Paulo is a popular beach with people looking for lots of fun during the holidays. It's home to some of the most popular beach bars and restaurants in town, as well as some of the most beautiful views of the ocean. It's just a short walk from the center of town and it's always crowded during high season, thanks to tourists who love its laid-back atmosphere and cool water.
The best place in morro de São Paulo , very lively, amazing beach and views and good vibes !
Alexandra G — Google review
this is a very lively crowded beach, it is semi-swimmable, but doesn't feel too clean, more for a dip in the water, as its a small bay on both sides of the point/ small island. its more a very vibrant area with a lot of choice to eat and drink, and a boardwalk for walking along the coastline, and people watch (a tonne of people watching here!!!). for a European visitor, it has Ibiza vibes, high season. so if you like party and busy, mixture of loud music, and young people, this is for you!!
MNML J — Google review
Beautiful beach, you can lie down and never have to get up, someone will get you all the acai and caipi you'll need. Lots of football, dancers and people having fun!
Pavel K — Google review
The beach may have been beautiful years before but over tourism has taken its charm. For one, it is highly commercialised with several overpriced and poor quality restaurants such as Sambass, where I had a terrible meal. I am a tourist myself, but feel there was a strange vibe from the swarm of tourists there who don’t seem to understand the basic manners of public spaces and I was made to feel uncomfortable by a group of men sitting strangely close to our towels and causing us to have to move away as they began playing football over our heads. Not to mention, the beach is filthy with trash left behind from such tourists. The beach was unenjoyable due to the above and I genuinely wouldn’t recommend spending your time and money to go there. There are many other beaches in Brazil with a much better ambience and less tourists with no manners.
S D — Google review
This place it's amazing, I can't wait to go back. If you want to save some money on food you better eat at the various restaurants at the village unread go to the beach.
EVERALDO A — Google review
It is a great beach, the water is very good, clean and warm. There is no waves, so it is possible to relax in the sea. There are a lot of restaurants in the beach.
Victor B — Google review
What can I say I fell in love with morro de Sao Paulo. The second beach houses most of the restaurants and bars. this means it offers very good day and night activities
Liesel81 — Google review

Parking is free for those who visit the museum with the poems and history of Castro Alves (it is located inside the park). Admission is free, just sign your name on a checklist. The guide was very attentive and gave detailed information about the history of Castro Alves and his family. The only downside is the distance. The park is in Cabaceiras do Paraguaçu, BA. It is a long road to see everything in half an hour (the museum). But if you want to have a picnic, the park has tables and is very pleasant. The museum is not open every day, it has specific days. A única desvantagem é a distância. O parque fica em Cabaceiras do Paraguaçu, BA. (Translated by Google) From an infrastructure standpoint, it is an essential service that is extremely useful and important for the transportation and integration of the capital and the highways that come from the South, Southeast and Central-West of Brazil. Ferry boats deserve better attention from the government, as well as the services provided. The vessels that were once extremely modern, today require minimal repairs and care. It is worth mentioning that other states in Brazil do not have ferries of this quality and construction, so maintenance would be enough to improve service conditions. Pedestrians and all types of vehicles board with practically no restrictions. (Translated by Google) Terminal without good signage. When you get to the entrance, you can hardly tell it's a terminal, because what you see above it is a huge advertisement that looks more like the entrance to a company than the entrance to the terminal. The service is disorganized, and it wasn't busy, I can only imagine what it would be like on weekends and holidays. The bathroom is filthy, dirtier than an old gas station on the side of the road. It's absolutely absurd for the price they charge! How can the government of Bahia not monitor the service provided by this concession? The concessionaire Internacional Travessias is certainly not following the rules of the contract. It's a clear case that privatization will not improve the service if there is no monitoring and follow-up of the contract by the concessionaire!!!

Visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views while exploring the museum's collection, which includes model ships and ships in bottles.
Amazing! Incredible! So much history, a lot of interesting things to see, and even a cafe/restaurant inside. I highly suggest climbing to the top of the lighthouse (if you can handle the steps)

Farol da Barra Beach is a lively destination popular for swimming and sunbathing. It is home to the St. Anthony Fort and the historic Farol da Barra lighthouse, where Amerigo Vespucci arrived in 1501. The beach offers stunning views of All Saints Bay and the city, with amenities such as eateries, beach umbrellas, and loungers for rent.
My wife added this place to our list when we visited Salvador — and we’re glad she did. The lighthouse and old fortress are full of history, and there’s a great little surprise on the rooftop: a spot where you can enjoy tasty Brazilian food and drinks. If you go at the right time, the sunset view is absolutely unforgettable.

Must stay in this area very happening and lively neighbourhood. Good food options not much option for vegetarians, feels save due to police nearby. Beach is amazing you can go anytime you want. Rentals bicycle and mini scooters wil be available.

The place is very beautiful. Once inside, everything is clean, the view is stunning, and you feel safe. However, the place should have security for tourists. The vendors outside, desperate for your money like hungry hyenas, made the experience unpleasant. They tried to paint us with their products and wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. It was truly a horrible experience. Therefore, I give the place a 2 out of 5.

Porto da Barra Beach is a picturesque gem nestled in Salvador, known for its tranquil waters that beckon both swimmers and sunbathers alike. This vibrant beach not only offers a perfect spot to soak up the sun but also serves as a historical landmark, being the site of Bahia's original European settlement. The surrounding neighborhood buzzes with life, attracting both locals and visitors who come to enjoy refreshing drinks while watching breathtaking sunsets over the bay.
Might be a long overdue review, but hands down one of the best beach waters I have been to. The pictures are from 2013, I've noticed they have bikes and scooters now. No matter where you are at pay attention to your surroundings. Local markets and restaurants near the strip. Not sure if the internet cafe shop is still there it's on the main strip a few shops down from the main entrance to the beach. If you are staying local, the grocery store is about a 15 min away walking. Not sure if they still do this on the beach, it's hard to think they do not, but ... once the sun is completely set (which looks surreal) it's the sun disappearing into the horizon of the beach ....people clap. It's the end of the day and you made it to see the sun go down.

This is an amazing beach. In weekends they shirt down the street for people to explore the local community that does shows and performance. You will have everything you need with in a 2 min walk. You can rent chair and umbrella and order a bucket of beer with out leavening the sand. There are tons of stree venders with foods, drinks and stuff. As you travel please always be aware of the area your in. Do not take your valuables and leave them on the beach unattended.

The museum features five exhibition rooms, an outdoor sculpture garden (Parque das Esculturas), and a movie theater, making it a vibrant cultural hub for artistic events of different languages.
The museum is currently displaying two amazing exhibits. Caminhos de ferro was amazing beautiful I loved it. Plus on Sunday the entrance is free

Love a free museum! We went on a Saturday and the only part open was downstairs. I’m not clear on whether we came back, other parts would be open. It was fun to see the art on display, but even more fun to see the workroom with art classes going on. Got a vegan brownie at the cafe outside and saw that there would be a samba festival that night at a stage that was being setup. Seems like a great hub of activities
Lo W — Google review
Disappointing, I would say. It's one small gallery, literally one room that exhibits at the moment some photógrafs, some garments and some pictures. Then there is one other room with the history (solo Portuguese). And one tiny chapel, that also exhibits some garments. The cafe is alright, the coffee is below average quality. It's free, but not worth a extra visit, I say. If you are in the area, have a look for 15min.

The Elevador Lacerda is a historic art deco elevator that provides scenic views while connecting the upper and lower parts of Salvador. It offers a convenient and affordable way to explore the old city center, with taxis, buses, and foot travel also being viable options. This iconic elevator was erected in the mid to late 1800s and showcases impressive Art Deco design from additional work done in the early 20th century.
It's a small pastry and ice cream shop situated right next to the elevator. I have to admit that the ice creams are delicious, generously served, and really cheap. You may choose to get them in a cone or a cup. The 'Pave' flavor is amazing! Pave is a Brazilian cake-like dessert.
Arkadiusz J — Google review
The City around the elevator is dangerous. The elevator looks good, but it's not spectacular to use.
Matheus Z — Google review
A tourist attraction with a lot of history. ⭐ The elevator is very fast and takes you to the upper city in a few seconds ⭐ We did not pay an entrance fee and did not have to wait in a queue ⭐ Nothing else to say or to do. Very straightforward. It is an elevator after all. But fun nonetheless! Also, prices for souvenirs in the upper city are cheaper than at Mercado Modelo!
B. N — Google review
Lacerda Elevator was the first urban elevator in the world when it opened on December 8, 1873 the 63 meters tall elevator takes you from lower town to upper town. A major tourist attractions and photo spot of Salvador. Great views of the bay and the governors palace.
Yrjö O — Google review
Beware of people who try to sell souvenirs and paint your body. They pretend it’s a freebie but will try to get as much as they can from you. Another advice, do not wear gold necklaces and such. Large groups or maybe with a guide is safer.
Rodrigo A — Google review
The history behind the construction is interesting, however it’s not a great place to go. Going up and down costs R$0,15 per visitor and the elevator is too crowded, hot as hell and smells sweat. Great view up there though.
Enzo — Google review
It's very cheap at only R$0.15, and conveniently located. It facilitates a 10 minute walk from the ferry to Pelourinho or from Pelourinho to the market. There may be a bit of a line depending on the time of day that you visit. Can also get a bit hot during the day. There are stunning views from the top, a very popular photo op spot, as well as a famous ice cream shop help you beat the heat. Can't miss it on a visit to Salvador and I definitely recommend taking it at least once.

Mercado Modelo is a popular market in Salvador, featuring over 250 shops offering a variety of arts, crafts, and souvenirs. The large yellow building housing the market is an example of neoclassical architecture and inside, elegant stone arches crown the alleys and streets. Visitors can also enjoy a view of the Bay of All Saints from a huge curved balcony covered in umbrellas.
Great tourist spot. Lots of little shops for souvenirs and food. There is a bigger restaurant overlooking the ocean. In the area are a few museums to visit. The large elevator is steps away. We came back here several times because there are so many things to do. We felt safe and they kept the area clean.

Beautiful building and market by the marina. It’s worth a visit to browse through some souvenirs, however, little to no local and artisanal handicrafts. Also the vendors are quite pushy which ruined the shopping experience a little. In my opinion, there are other local vendors and artisanal shops around the city that offer better and unique handicrafts.

Tamara C — Google review
This is indeed one of the greatest and most know trademarks for anyone visiting Salvador for the first time. Currently, the market is passing by a renovation so its split in two different sections. But both have basically the same kind of products available. At first, I've thought this would be similar to São Paulo's Municipal Market; however, here you will find just two or three options of restaurants with most of the other places taken by souvenirs stores. It can be a great place if you're looking for this type of store but be attentive of the prices - you can similar items for huge price variance. Tip: things here are cheaper than most of the stores of Pelourinho. Extra tip: though the market itself may not be what you're expecting take the opportunity to visit the marine located a few steps of it. The view is stunning and a good place for nice photos.

Popular market featuring 250+ shops selling a variety of arts, crafts & souvenirs, plus restaurants. Mercado Modelo has bars, cafeterias and canteens. With 8,410 square meters and two floors, with gifts and souvenirs from Bahia The Mercado Modelo arose out of the need for a supply center in the Lower City of Salvador. Between the old Customs House building and Largo da Conceição, it was a commercial center where it was possible to acquire items as varied as fruit and vegetables, cereals, animals, cigars, cachaças, and Candomblé articles. Thus, the market was inaugurated on February 2, 1912[1] in a building next to the old Customs House building, which had been built in 1860 and inaugurated in 1861.[3] The market's supply was served by the ramp that bears its name, former port of the schooners that crossed the Bay of All Saints.

Beautiful stadium. The view to the field is amazing from every angle, regardless of whether you are at pitch level or very high up. Nice "happy hour" before the match, with live music and many food trucks. Only downside is the labyrinth path from parking lot to stadium - it doesn't make sense - but not enough to take away a star.

Went to watch Bahia vs Corthians. Good game, but the place was kind of a mess. Not less than I was expecting though, spilled drinks every once in a while, long waits during intermissions. Nothing out of place for a sports arena. Seats were small but we hardly sat anyway. Everyone just moved towards the edge of the viewing area. Prices were great, especially compared to the US. It's great that going to a game fits in most people's pockets here, and is a great way to spend a day. I recommend going, even if only just once if you're not a sports fan like me.

The Basílica do Senhor do Bonfim, an impressive 18th-century church situated on Sacred Hill, is a significant stop on Bahia's religious tourism route. Each year, the renowned Lavagem do Bonfim ceremony unites Catholics and Candomblé practitioners in devotion. The neoclassical interior showcases remarkable works of art such as Francisco Velasco's ceiling panel and Jose Rufino Capinam's paintings at the entrance.
The Basilica do Senhor do Bonfim is a beautiful and culturally significant church worth visiting. However, the experience can be somewhat diminished by persistent sellers and Baianas asking for money if you take their picture. While the architecture and atmosphere are impressive, be prepared for these interruptions during your visit.

It is the most famous of the Catholic churches of Salvador, in the State of Bahia, Brazil. It was built in the 18th century. Visited the Basilica this morning. There were not many people and parking was not that difficult. By about 1030 Hrs, the place was filling as the mass had started at 1030 Hrs. There was no ticket to purchase but you could donate any amount you want to.

A must see during your visit to Salvador. A beautiful cathedral that captures the heart and soul of one of the oldest cities established in the new world. It’s local custom to tie ribbons at the gate in front of the church and say a prayer to the Holy Savior of the Bay of all Saints. Inside the cathedral and deep rooted in the Afro-Brazillian Candomblé traditions and the Catholic Ex-Voto, the afflicted offer wax casts in body parts to Saints as thanks or hope of healing them.
Giacomo L — Google review
The church is beautiful and full with the visitors but should be careful about the guy at the parking lot along the street they are asking for 20 reais for every car.
Patrick D — Google review
Beautiful church carrying a lot of history. There was service when we arrived and it was crowded but we found seats and could enjoy the amazing interior of the church whilst praying. Be aware about parking and souvenir prices, street vendors try to make money on unadvised tourists.

Good vibe to get your blessings. Given the importance in Brazil you would expect a grand church. It is, however relatively small and simple, but never the less impressive for its significance for the faithful in Brazil. At low tide, the landscape transforms as natural tidal pools emerge, providing a safe play area for children to splash around while parents relax nearby. The warm green waters invite visitors to indulge in activities like jet skiing and bodyboarding.
Beautiful and safe. Beware of jellyfish.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful church. In addition to the architectural value of its Resurrected Christ (unfortunately closed to visitors a few years ago), the painting on its ceiling is also impressive. (Original) Linda igreja.

(Translated by Google) My score is 2 because of how I found the public property. Located on Rua do Imperador, despite being indicated on Google Maps as a highway (BR 420), in front of the Subaé River in the city center. Despite being named after an illustrious person from the city and having modern architecture, demonstrating that the building was recently restructured, it is currently abandoned and without maintenance. On a tourist trip through the region, this is not just a reality of this heritage. others present the same situation, closed, abandoned and without maintenance. The city is very well signposted regarding its heritage sites. My opinion and suggestion applies to all other public buildings that I tried to visit, especially those closest to this one. My suggestion is that you should form partnerships with other bodies for use and visitation. It would promote free programming for schools and low-income society. When visiting, a fee would be charged as part of capitation for maintenance and staff salaries. I was sad about what I saw, I'm from Bahia, I live in another state and I took other people to see the rich heritage. Here I recognize that the city has enormous tourist potential to be explored. Here's a tip. Fica a dica.

It is one of the most important artistic and cultural centers in the city of Santo Amaro, a city in the Bahian backlands, and is located in the Santa Luzia neighborhood, close to the city's bus terminal. Of you are not from Brasil this is the place to be. It's a safe area of the city. I have been living in brasil for seven years. This is the safest area I've seen traveling in the county. I will continue to bring my family here because of the beach, food, and safety. Good. job to the governor here in Salvador for at least keeping one section for families here safe.

Definitely worth the 45min drive, this beach is amazing. Food and drinks available directly at the beach, as well as restaurants with super clean toilets. Plenty of Uber cars to go back to Salvador.

There is an amazing place, to enjoy the sun of Bahia, food on the beach, very tasty traditional and organic food, natural juices fruits squized a front of you, no additives no E chemicals. Just to be careful that some stones in the water, just avoid them.

Best beach in Salvador in my opinion! Variety of stalls, trendy bars, clean, hot water, great waterfront ... A great option for all audiences. I paid 10 reais on an umbrella, and drank beer worth 8 on average, water costs around 4 reais, cheap snacks. Worth the trip. Beautiful beach, twenty-six miles from the center of Salvador, with an extensive strip of sand, therefore, in several points, quite deserted, even in high season. Located in a quiet neighborhood next to Stella Maris and Itapuã, but with plenty of services such as restaurants, markets, cafeterias and a shop that serves very well for everyday needs. Great place to relax with the family.

Praia de Ipitanga is a charming beach that strikes the perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. Nestled conveniently between the capital and Lauro de Freitas, it offers a serene escape for those looking to unwind away from the bustling crowds. The beach is known for its lively waves, making it an ideal spot for swimmers and surfers alike. Families will appreciate the inviting atmosphere, with natural pools forming near coral reefs providing safe areas for children to splash around.
Nice for chill out with kids and family simple and nice.

(Translated by Google) Not far from the capital, east of Salvador, just after Flamengo beach, I came to see another tropical paradise called Buraquinho Beach. Imagine a beautiful, clean beach, of unparalleled beauty, where the river flows into the sea, full of coconut trees and even grass on the beach. This "Buraquinho" is a beach that you can call "yours", because there is no frenetic movement at all. I discovered it here at "Buraquinho", the old woman's hole. I loved this hole... Imagine a hole full of cold beers, fried fish, crabs, shrimp and the like. The stalls that exist here serve the coldest beers in the region. A spectacular place to spend your vacation. Me amarrei nesse buraco...
