Spectacular view from the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits. You have to park your car on the street and walk up a trail to the top of the hill , but it’s and extremely easy walk without too much inclination. It was summer when we went, so flowers were blooming and butterflies where hovering all around. This is a fascinating location for birdwatchers given the variety of birds flying around the trail. Once at the top of the hill and facing north, there’s is a stunning view of an old cemetery overlooking the ocean and a sand dune covered beach. Facing west, you are directly about the beach and town of Santa Marta. And East, is obviously an open view of the ocean crashing upon rocks. The lighthouse was closed, but even so, the view is worth the short hike up.

Great place for a city escape. Signal reception is not good, non existent in some places. The village is really small, with not much to do, specially at night. There are great beaches to visit, some accessed through short trails.

The village didn't change much in the last 10 years, which - for me - is positive. I love the atmosphere. The lighthouse is somewhat nostalgic. If you're lucky, the Cardoso beach will surprise you with nice waves and crystal clear water.

An antique lighthouse that long ago functioned with whale oil. Beautiful and well-maintained, with bright white paint. The reason I only gave 4 stars was due to faulty directions, Google deposited us next to a cemetery. A couple of locals told us we could get to the lighthouse from there, and we found a section of fence missing and a small footpath twisting among cactus and tall grasses and weeds. Once we arrived at the lighthouse we pivoted and saw a sign behind us warning that venomous snakes were in that area. The area we had just crossed. Now we had a snake-infested field between us and 12-yr-old and our car. We couldn't shout a warning to our kid because of the wind and waves, but fortunately he didn't try to follow us. Anyway, I'm going to try to suggest a different route, but if you end up next to a cemetery, don't walk through the plants to get to the lighthouse!

Surf prohibited May-July. Santa Caterina has a law that due to fishing you cannot surf on many beaches during this period. Rosa Norte allows surfing but it's busy. Very quite beach and village except in season, but a very nice, friendly place.

A very beautiful beach on the island but it took an hour boat ride to get there. Make sure to choose a good sunny day to go there.

A beautiful island with calm but freezing water. If you go on the weekend, there are many boats obstructing the view of the ocean. Nonetheless, the island feels calm and relaxed. We (foreigners) were told it costs 300 reais per person round trip to the island. When we said we don't have that much cash, they lowered it to 200 reais per person (Feb 2022). Still expensive based on other comments here, but I guess that's the price you pay for not being brazilian.

This is a fantastic beach amazing for playing volleyball. Get to know other people find amazing friends just relax on the beach. Enjoy the nature. The views the waves are friendly. A lot of people do windsurfing which is fantastic. There are rocky areas on the left side. It’s ok. Actually a very busy beach so if you’re into that then it might be the right place for you. What’s great is the dunes sitting in the background. If you climb up you’ll get a very picturesque view of the beach! Also the rocks on the left side of the beach is a cool spot to check out !

The Americas have a completely wrong idea as to what makes a city livable. This is a place that boasts a sandy beach but waves that make swimming unfeasible. Proof of that is that 90% of the beachgoers are lying or sitting on the beach, but very few venture to go inside the sea and even fewer bother to swim. Add to that the mostly cloudy skies and the ever-present rain, and you've got the picture. Furthermore, there are no cafés to speak of as coffee culture in these parts of the world is practically nonexistent, and the restaurants are nothing to brag about. Finally ,the absence of any other form of entertainment makes this place an absolute tedium. Complete waste of my money. Give me the Mediterranean any time!

The teleférico ticket gets you to the top of the park, where you can stay and enjoy the trails in the Atlantic Forest or enjoy snacks or meals before continuing down to the beach of Laranjeiras where there are many restaurants and beautiful calm waves. Great view, easy to access, free parking with very quick shuttle bus to the top. Not much walking required for elderly and easy access with pram except for very top of Cristo. I went early and there was hardly anyone there but I think later on there's more of a party vibe happening and the restaurants open. Worth visiting as a tourist.

English speaker gave us the full interactive (tested 3 beers!) tour and explained how beers are made. Lovely historic items to see. Explained about the regular flooding in the city of Blumenau also. Recommend and allow one hour at least.

This was a fantastic tour! The guide was able to offer it in English, which is rare in Brazil generally, making it a great option for international visitors. There was lots of interesting information throughout, and you even get to taste a few beers along the way. All in all, it was a really good experience, well worth the money. Highly recommend it!

We went for Oktoberfest so was great to visit. Well set up and decorated. Like a little German village dull of shops as well as the large hall where the live bands and dancing was held. Extremely busy on the Saturday, hard to walk and waited in line for food, beer or toilet for at least 20 minutes. Friday was better as less people. You can purchase the ticket across the road for the Oktoberfest before entering. Full german costume gets you half price entry. Food was average.

We visited here in July 2023, it was fantastic. The animals looked happy and healthy. You get a very intimate experience and view of them all. I got to see a few animals from South America and Brazil that I hadn't seen before, or knew existed. There are lots of lovely trees around the zoo itself, the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. A perfect zoo experience! I was also offered a teacher's discount (I am a school teacher in New Zealand), if I provided proof/ID, so educators - be sure to bring your ID with you!

As a theme park junkie, BCW provides a magical atmosphere for adrenaline seekers and family outings! The Fire Whip is a best in class inverted coaster and the Madagascar river boat is a never ending water maze of fun. You’ll enjoy the Beto Carrero theme through the entire park - plus it’s clean, and the ride lines weren’t too long (we visited on a Monday). The best part is that the staff were friendly and all aspects were firing on all cylinders - all rides and food open! Whip it good!

It is really nice place to visit with your kids and let your inner child go crazy with them. Somedays It is full occupied with the school kids trips. The staff need to be on top of crowd management during these busy times with school trips. Better rent stroller ( for kids) or scooter for old people or for yourself in case can't walk enough ( it's huge place to walk around for the shows and attractions). Advice you can rent items outside instead of inside the parque as the prices are way higher

The only catch is: I recommend buying ONLINE AHEAD of time, as the day they wanted to charge us 3x the price but after letting them know we’d not pay that, the manager checked and they were able to give us a discount but it still cost twice as much. You guys keep milking us like cows, trying to squeeze every last penny out of us, and we would pay if we were happy , but we were on 100% disappointment .
