Volcán Malacara

Scenic spot
Nature & Parks
Volcanoes
What a treasure. It’s a perfect place for families, even little children, if they can be carried an a pouch. Nothing too demanding but views are spectacular plus a unique opportunity to walk inside a volcano crater. Be prepared for a drive on a gravel road for about an hour before you reach the volcano. It’s all worth it.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW IN ADVANCE: 1. You need to book with a guide in advance. You can do this in the center of town in Malargüe. 2. Tours are only a few times a day. (We arrived at 12:00 and the next tour was not until 15:00). 3. Pants are required. They will not let you in without them. Overall, nice experience. Our guide was great. Our tour was in Spanish so I do not know if they also have guides who spoke English. Tour was about 2.5/3 hours. Minimum fitness required. (There was old and young children in our group and everyone was fine!)

Surreal images sculpted by the rain water and the wind for years...astonishing images... be ready for a good hiking...it does worth all the efforts. You need to book your visit ahead, in Malargue. Aires de Libertad Agency, in the main street deals it.

(Translated by Google) Malacara Volcano is an unforgettable experience that you can find in Malargüe. Access is via a gravel road and you must book tickets with a local guide. I recommend you book with Melina from @exploramalargue. You can find her on Instagram and contact her via WhatsApp. She'll provide information, guide you, take photos, and is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend her, along with her other excursions, such as the Pincheira Castles. (Translated by Google) I highly recommend this excursion. It's accompanied by a guide, whom you'll meet at the food stand near the start of the excursion. To get there, you can take a gravel road in your own vehicle. We were fortunate that the machine had just passed, so the road wasn't as pockmarked as we'd read in some reviews. There was also another road off the main road that was in better condition. Exploring the volcano's gullies was a beautiful experience. You can do it with children; we did it with a 6-year-old. The hike lasts approximately two hours or more, with brief stops while the guide tells you about the volcano. You reserve your tickets via WhatsApp, pick them up at the center's office, and pay the rest in cash when you arrive at the meeting point with the guide.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful experience! The history of the place is incredible; it's worth it! It's a very relaxing activity. You're accompanied by your guide, and they explain every detail of the place! Our guide, Marcia, was a genius; she even acted as a photographer, taking pictures of us all! There are bathrooms inside the complex, and you have a place to eat! There are no shops! The route to get there is quite complicated, but if you go slowly, you'll do it without a problem! It's a 30-minute gravel road! You have to buy the tickets at an agency, and then you pay the guide on-site; they only accept cash. Highly recommended! (Original) Hermosa experiencia!

General hospital
Museums
Nestled in the heart of Malargüe, the Malargüe Regional Hospital stands out for its dedicated healthcare services. While some visitors express a desire for more specialists, many have praised the basic medical staff for their attentive care. Personal experiences highlight that patients receive excellent treatment from both doctors and nurses, particularly during critical situations like hospitalizations due to serious illnesses such as H1N1 or urgent injuries like broken bones.

(Translated by Google) Terrible medical care; they don't give you any certificates or prescriptions. I went to the doctor, and they didn't even give me a diagnosis or a document stating whether I'm okay or need treatment. I was treated by a doctor named Maria, according to her. I have no proof that she treated me. That is, for the company where I work and the doctor, I was never treated. I crushed my finger at work and had to travel to the city to get care. It's hypocritical that a healthcare institution doesn't provide documentation and is so inflexible. The care they provide to patients is pleasant.

Planetarium
Museums
The guide at the Planetario Malargüe provided an excellent explanation, delivering intriguing and easily understandable information. The projection was captivating, and the installation where they showcased the film was beautiful. However, a drawback was that all seats were occupied without any social distancing measures in place. To address this issue, it would be beneficial to offer more time slots with fewer people in attendance.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful experience. We were not able to take the guided tour since we arrived late. One is at 3 p.m. and the other at 5 p.m. What you can access at other times is the 360 experience in the dome, which I recommend but (in our opinion) not for small children. They can understand the images but not the technical vocabulary. My children of 7 and 10 were bored. The place is extremely clean, well organized, the staff is very friendly. Pierre Auger Observatory

The Pierre Auger Observatory is a remarkable facility that sets itself apart from other observatories. It offers a unique and immersive experience, characterized by excellent organization and educational value throughout. The diligent and passionate tourist guides deserve commendation for their dedication. However, it is worth noting that the absence of a UK flag outside the building may be an oversight, considering the observatory's international contributors. Additionally, there seems to be a lack of responsiveness to reviews over the past three years.
Pretty interesting and very well taken care of. You should check, it's free, just remember to book online before you come.

The lack of a UK flag is extremely disappointing, considering the contribution from Alan Watson, and the team from the University of Leeds, who designed and installed the communications system that gathers the data from the surface detectors and sends it back to the campus.
Peter W — Google review
You do not have a UK flag represented outside the building as a contributing country. Is this an oversight? It would also appear, as the above post has been on for 3 years, that you do not reply to your reviews.

Valle Hermoso

Ravine
Nature & Parks
Valle Hermoso is a truly picturesque valley that offers various transportation options, including trucks and motorcycles. However, it is also accessible by car if driven slowly. The campsite provides accommodations in the form of domes or tents and offers amenities such as bathrooms. Additionally, meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available for purchase. It's worth considering fuel availability as the nearest gas stations can be found around 100km away in Sosneado or Malargue.

(Translated by Google) The road to the beautiful valley is very attractive in landscapes. Once you arrive at the lagoon you realize that it is appropriated by a campsite that unfortunately is not up to the standard of the place. It has a restaurant that leaves much to be desired and the entrance fee to get even remotely close to the Lagoon is $800 per person. The lagoon is totally worth it but it is a shame to appropriate a natural reserve in this way, fencing it with wire. (Translated by Google) Beautiful valley passing Las Leñas. It truly lives up to its name. The road to get there is gravel, is in good condition, and is less difficult than the Cuadrado road in Córdoba. You can go with your own vehicle, it is suggested that it be very high due to some stones on the road. On site there is a campsite (with paid internet) that offers rental of domes and boats to use on the lake. It is recommended to re-enter from the place no later than 7 pm as it is a fairly steep path.

On days with good weather it is passable, in the rain I do not recommend going and if it threatens to rain when you are in the place, it is preferable to leave before it rains. The road in the rain becomes quite impassable in several curves. The landscape is incredible, very beautiful, you can continue after the Provide and find wonderful places. (Translated by Google) A beautiful spot in the mountains, perfect for camping or just spending the day. The trail is difficult, with 27 km of mountain road in average condition (we drove through with a low-speed car, but with caution). You can enter the refuge or not. The refuge has everything you need: grills, lunch, umbrellas, chairs, canoes, and horses. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The lagoon has clear but cold waters. You can wade in, and the surrounding river has different flows along its length, featuring beautiful waterfalls.

Amazing place to visit. but look for weather forecast before going
Nazmul N — Google review
Las Leñas is well known for their après time vibes, a few challenging runs and the best off piste terrain in Argentina. And, of course, being the only true ski in / ski out resort down here. And boy … do they know that and maker that. As mentioned it’s THE place if you enjoy off piste… the actual runs are average, not that challenging leaving aside Marte zone where you can’t get some fun advanced terrain. They have a respectable beginners area for Argentina standards and adding they hotel / bars / restaurant offer right at the base, a place to be enjoyed by skiers of all levels. It does gets terribly packed in the heavy season, not a lot of lifts makes that experience not that enjoyable so it would be wise to try to avoid July … but their snow in the last few years was scarce at best … so trip down when you have to!
Paulo P — Google review
2025 - there is a ton of snow and only one side of the mountain is open, about a quarter of the lifts / pistes are open, no explanation as to why, falsely advertised. A real shame as in the past have had a great time, reasonably small resort but beautiful, possible to stay v close to the lifts and fun apres-ski etc
Joseph T — Google review
Great tracks, and great snow most of the season. Off tracks are easy to find and also really fun. Views are excellent too. Problems are the snow by mid August, and the lifts are the slowest you'll ever encounter.
Lucas C — Google review
Perched in the amazing peaks of the Argentine Andes this is a small ski resort by European standards but the piste skiing is great as long as the Marte lift is open (maybe 50% of the time). The lifts are old and slow
Alex C — Google review
I have my own disagreement on how to rate this. As a “ski resort” I rate it below average (3 stars is average), comparing it to other major sky resorts of Argentina. As a “Mountain to sky” I can extend to to 4 points, with many good runs and nice snow. So let’s see why 2 stars: 1. poor poor poor poor infrastructure... been here 20 years ago, and it seems all the same. One day did spend an unreasonable time doing lines for the lifts (meaning that in all ski resorts you will do reasonable lines). 2. Ski rentals offer is poor, leading the companies to charge you whatever they want, since there is no competition. 3. Very small places to eat at the mountains , one better than the other, still not at the quality you expect for the money you pay 4. Not good airport communication, so you pay a lot of extra money if you do not have a package 5. Since is just that, a ski resort far away from cities, you have to just relax and be prepared to charge you expensive prices to eat or drink. I’m sorry is not as good as its marketing Makes it look like.

Enjoining autumn in Las Leñas. It's a peaceful place for relaxing before the ski season.
Charly P — Google review
This place lacks reviews in English so here goes mine. The place itself is just for skiing and snowboarding, the village does not offer anything else so I don't really recommend bringing children. The main advantage and difference between this resort and others in argentina is that the hotels are right in front of the lifts. The food here is quite expensive unless your money exchange rate is good enough which i doubt. The mountain itself is pretty good, nice open roads and good lifts, my only complain is the long wait while you're on the lift, for example, getting to the top of the mountain is basically an hour of lifts but the experience of going down is quite unique. Off Piste is a big part of this resort and advanced skiers can take advantage of this (the resort offers guides which is quite nice when you don't know the mountain). Overall, if you come to ski and only ski this is the place for you.

The picturesque Laguna de la Niña Encantada is surrounded by rocky hills and petrified lava flow, creating a stunning landscape. The crystal-clear water of the lagoon is renowned for its purity. Bodega Alfa Crux is a must-visit destination for food and wine enthusiasts. The restaurant, Crux Cocina, offers a set menu with six courses paired with a selection of wines from their Crux, Xtra, Beta, and Alfa ranges. The wooden deck outside the restaurant overlooks an artificial lake, providing a stunning backdrop for your dining experience. Visitors also praise the impressive vineyard and recommend taking a tour of the place.
Thank you for fantastic wine tasting experience and Michellin star lunch. We were late for almost 40 min. But they were still polite and accepted us into the wine tour. The architecture is another level than most US wineries. Our wine hostess Maria was fun and she singed a song for us in the wine storage room. Wines were good and lunch was even tastier. Better than most over 1000$ expensive US fine dining. We will share the pictures gladly.

The wine pairing and grounds were amazing. The views were clouded for us which only means we’ll have to come back on a clear day because the food and service was off the chain!! My only complaint is that inside the restaurant it is extremely noisy and the echoing was too much for me. I recommend asking to be seated outside. If it’s chilly, they kindly offer you warm blankets.

Unique architecture, wine-making process. The result is wines that are more full bodied than their cousins of the same varietals. The Cab Franc was especially good. Had an amazing tour with Augustina.

Incredible structure and winery. We had Marisol was our guide in English. She was great…and to show the acoustics of one of the rooms, she sang…and it was magical! It was disappointing to only taste 3 wines (1 at the start and 2 along the way)as you don’t get to fully appreciate their wines. And to ship,?it was AR160,000 for a minimum of 6 bottles…and then the cost of the wine itself.

We had an incredible time at Alfa Crux Winery! The bodega is absolutely stunning, with beautiful architecture and amazing views. Lunch was outstanding — every dish was delicious and thoughtfully paired with their wines. A special shoutout to Julieta, who guided us through the experience and served as our sommelier. She did a fantastic job explaining everything in English, which we really appreciated since my husband’s Spanish isn’t the best. Overall, a perfect mix of great food, excellent wine, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend visiting Alfa Crux!

Had the most amazing six course lunch and wine tasting at this winery while enjoying the property’s breathtaking views. We were running late for another reservation and didn’t have time to do a tour, but one of the servers still took the time to take us down to the wine cellar privately so that we could see it quickly before having to leave. The winery is stunning and the friendly staff provided top tier service. Would recommend this place to any wine and food lovers out there visiting Mendoza.

Bodega Zuccardi Valle de Uco

Winery
Food & Drink
Wineries & Vineyards
Bodega Zuccardi Valle de Uco is a family-owned winery that provides tours of their cellar and vineyard, wine tastings, and an exquisite restaurant with scenic mountain views. Although the factory may not be as impressive as other options, it emanates an artistic ambiance which adds to its overall charm. The wine tasting experience is exceptional; however, there seems to have been a discrepancy between the reservation price advertised on their website three weeks prior and what was charged upon payment without any explanation.
We booked the Places & People tasting and had a great time. This winery has won many awards, which is what compelled us to come here, and it is truly evident as to why they are in the world’s best vineyards hall of fame. The details in the architecture, the knowledge of their staff, and their unique process crafts beautiful wine that are unlike anything else. Our tour was a small group of about 8 people, the perfect size to be able to enjoy the tour and not feel overcrowded. Our guide explained each part in both English and Spanish. The property is stunning but the inside is arguably more impressive! Each part of the property is so detailed and sleek. Our favourite part was the room inspired by a grape seed. It was great to learn about the history of the Zuccardi family along with what makes the Uco Valley such an abundant area for wine production. We tasted one white and four red wines with some cheese. Overall, I would recommend this experience!

Spectacular point blank 🍷the bodega is amazing with incredible architecture . Our guides Lautaro and Juan Pablo were great with so much knowledge of the wines and history of the area . The vineyard is so pretty with the backdrop of the Andes mountains and you can take as many video a pictures as you want . Only issue would be getting there and returning to the city as it’s an hour drive give or take , so arrange properly or you will be stuck looking for a ride back . But other than that , perfect , best bodega in Mendoza and best wine tasting ever !

Went for premium wine tasting which also comes with a mini tour. It was very affordable, less than $100 per person. The wines were about $80 to $200 bottle retail. We get 15% discount after the tasting. The mini tour was just ok. It’s a lot of information you’d get on Google or Wikipedia - nothing ground breaking

Absolutely loved this place, it was our first bodega on our trip to Valle de uco, I would definitely go again and highly recommend it to others! The English tour was great, the facility architecture was beatufiul and complemented the view of the Andes excellently. The kitchen was just firing up for lunch and I was a bit sad we were going elsewhere for lunch so definitely want to come back. The wine tasting was excellent and I loved the Chardonnay.

First the good stuff….the food was excellent and the service was even better. We had a 9 course lunch (which was way too much food) but it was all excellent! Valentino, our waiter, was so attentive and explained everything so well, in English! The views would have been good if it wasn’t raining all day that day! So unfortunately we didn’t get to see the Andes Mountains! On a clear day, I can imagine it would be beautiful as were the grounds! The bad thing was that we made reservations a few months ago and requested the 6 course menu because the 9 was too much! When we got there, they said things change and that day it was the 9 course! In addition it was very expensive! Each luncheon price was based on the wine you were tasting. My speculation was that the lunch was $150 per person then with the wine paring it added to $179, $220+, $300+, $400+ depending on the wine. Because “things had changed”, we decided to go with the least expensive option. We were disappointed because out of 6 wines we only liked one! So we would have had to spend an additional $50 per person to taste at a minimum decent wine. So overall it wasn’t as expected! However the staff, food and would be view was great!

Some pros and cons… The place is amazing! It’s really one of the most beautiful views of the wineries we went. The tour is well detailed in information, we visit some interesting places and understand better the soil, production and all. The problem is the tasting, is very low quality for the price paid. Maybe is because of the fame, but for this price we would like to taste m better wines of the brand.

Came here with some Argentine friends (whi had been here many times) and I can niw understand why! Firstly, the views are spectacular and the design of the restaurant with very large windows, make the atmosphere 'perfect'. Although you could eat outside as well - just as perfect. We'd give it 12 stars if we could!

(Translated by Google) UNMISSABLE, REALLY!! After a mix-up at another winery in the area where they forgot our lunch reservation, we decided to go to DiamAndes because we knew some of their wines and liked them! Despite not having a reservation with them, they treated us VERY kindly from the first minute and set up a table for us by the window for lunch. The architecture of the winery is truly breathtaking! It's truly stunning. The winery's chef himself came to our table, explained the two menus they offered, and brought the dishes himself, explaining each one in detail. That gesture from the chef is truly worthwhile. A round of applause for Santiago! We must especially highlight Lucía's service. She served us the wines that accompanied the menu, describing each one with precision and enthusiasm, which demonstrated her passion for what she does. And you can tell she knows a lot about wine! Every meal was DELICIOUS. One of the best experiences we had in Mendoza. From the appetizers (the cauliflower soup was delicious), to the main course (a tenderloin that was more tender than Gago), to the dessert, which we didn't get to take a photo of, but it was a chocolate tower bursting with flavor. The wines were each more delicious than the last! The Gran Reserva (a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvage) is a bomb! If they made a perfume with its aroma, I'd buy it without hesitation! Finally, I also want to highlight the service provided by Julián and also by Natalia, who always has a smile on her face! Thank you so much for the experience! 💜🍷 (Original) IMPERDIBLE, DE VERDAD!! 💜🍷

Seriously one of the best wine tasting rooms I've ever been. The curation of wines is incredible, and the service is friendly and knowledgable. Though I spent two days visiting wineries all across Uco and Lujan in Mendoza, this was by far my favorite stop. I was shocked to find numerous new favorites in one stop, and would consider this place a requisite stop for any visit to Mendoza. Ask for Juliette she is amazing.

Bodega Piedra Negra is a cool place, super chill with a great vibe. The winery has a nice setup, and the tour is really informative, explaining the whole wine-making process. The view is beautiful, with mountains in the background. The service is excellent, and the wine tasting is top-notch. It’s a bit far from Mendoza, so you might want to prepare for the drive, but it’s totally worth it. Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone into wine and looking for a good experience.

Belen was a fantastic guide and host. We did the blind tasting. We learnt about the history, how they come to produce a wine by ‘mistake’ and of course about the notes in some of their wines which were lovely

Exceptional experience! We visited Bodega Piedra Negra during our trip to Mendoza and we were impressed. The staff were very welcoming and led us through an informative tour of the vineyards and winery. The panoramic views of the vineyards were amazing, and the wine we tried was delicious. The winemaker enthusiastically shared his knowledge and answered all of our questions. In addition, we enjoyed a delicious pairing of local cheeses with wines. We would certainly recommend Piedra negra to any wine lover visiting the area. A 5 star experience! We want to express our most sincere gratitude to Regina for the exceptional care you gave us during our visit to the winery. Your kindness, professionalism and dedication made our experience truly special and memorable.

The location is ideal, with nearby vineyards and attractions such as Parque de la Lombardia and Laureano Gomez Winemaker. Guests can indulge in onsite massages or take a dip in the outdoor pool. The spacious rooms are praised for their comfort, while the secluded setting among vineyards provides a tranquil atmosphere.
A quiet setting next to vineyards made for a relaxing stay. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We eat all our 5 dinners were delicious especially the empanadas starters

The staff were really really nice and welcoming, and we got a great deal including a sunset dinner at the winery. But without that, this place is completely overpriced. The room is very outdated, especially the bathroom. The bathroom door couldn’t even be closed from the outside, everything there was chipped, cracked and rusty. The bathroom tiles had many stains that could easily be removed with wet toilet paper so it makes me wonder how often was this place cleaned properly. We also had many dead flies on the bathroom floor. Breakfast was also pretty poor with very dry bread. Only good thing there is the nice surrounding and the location nearby many bodegas.
Mor O — Google review
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. It was a quaint place however the advertised photos were not the same as our room. Our room smelled like a septic tank/poop smell, the bathroom looked like a prison with bugs crawling everywhere and we would get bed bug bites in the middle of the night. We left early as a result, without a refund

Deceptive Hotel, Beware of Exchange Rate Scams! I can't believe the audacity of this hotel! They intentionally manipulate exchange rates to trick customers into paying more than they should. It's a blatant rip-off, and the management seems perfectly fine with deceiving their guests. Save your money and sanity—stay far away from this dishonest establishment! Not only does this hotel engage in shady exchange rate practices, but they also flat-out refuse cancellation requests through all means possible. It's as if they take pride in trapping guests in their deceitful web. A clear warning to anyone considering booking here: your money and peace of mind are at risk, and good luck trying to escape this nightmare of a reservation

We loved our stay at Postales. The rooms are simple but spacious, the beds sooo comfortable and the bathroom large with a great shower. And the location is amazing. Close to many of the Uco Valley vineyards and set off the road in a secluded little space surrounded by vines. The staff were helpful and we ate at there restaurant twice and the food was great. It was too cold for swimming but they have a lovely pool for warmer weather.

A beautiful spot, but the rooms had very old and dirty carpet, pillows and bedding, as well as tattered window coverings. A few investments would go a long way to improve the quality of the rooms. Breakfast was understaffed and slow. Staff was very friendly and helpful to set up wine tasting. Note that the hotel is about 1 hour from most vineyards.
Jocelyn F — Google review
They charged a whopping 10% extra on our hotel bill because we paid with a credit card (in a single payment). We didn't know until afterwards that this is ILLEGAL in Argentina and when we found out, we contacted them but they refused to return the extra we were charged. Highway robbery.

Great place but make sure you reserve first or else you're stuck with just walking the grounds. Amazing menu, it's an experience for the senses. Great food, wine acompanied by a beautiful view of the Andes, there's nothing like it. If you smoke, you can step out onto the porch and sit in the sofas-enjoy an incredible view, don't forget your wine glass. Great service and I recommend buying their wine glasses at the gift shop and the olive oil. 🫒

We arrived there just on time for lunch. We were on one of the first tables to be seated. After choosing our menu and getting our first plate we realized that all the other tables had gotten some bread with some type of sauce. They forgot about us and totally pretended not to see that (even when they came to take the plates). The food is really good! But nothing special at all. I’d expect something more elaborated for this price (10,500.00 per person). The second thing that got me intrigued is that there was a street dog roaming around the restaurant and the waiters pretended that it was something normal. The dog was full of fleas and totally not taken care of. None of the waiters took the dog away (you would expect a high level restaurant not to have street animals roaming between the tables). At some point the dog even jumped on my GF and got her blouse mud dirty. The third and last thing was that there was SO MUCH trash on the grass. Pieced of paper, plastic, cigarettes. It seems like no one has ever cleaned that up. In the end, I’d recommend you to take the tour but eat somewhere else (maybe even better for that price tag). I didn’t enjoy it at all.

My wife and I had a fabulous time on a private tour at Bodega Salentein. Our tour guide, Marcelo, made the experience memorable with his passionate and knowledgeable presentation, and we felt so very welcomed. The six wines we tried were all excellent and each at the top of its class. Our favorite was the Numina Gran Corte, which is a blend of malbec, cabernet, merlot, cab franc, and petit verdot. The Primus malbec 2015 was excellent as well. The tour normally takes 1.5 hours but we got along so well with Marcelo, it was well over 2 hours and we were still in tasting room when Marcelo finally was asked to move on. Just to demonstrate the tremendous hospitality this Bodega shows its visitors. Would love to re-visit next time we're in Mendoza.

If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Valle de Uco, this winery and restaurant is truly a gem. As someone who’s worked in high-end restaurants around the world, I’ve seen my fair share of exceptional service, but what sets this place apart is not just the food or wine—it's the people. From the moment you step in, you can feel the passion and dedication that runs through every member of the team. A special mention goes to Agustín, whose warmth and professionalism elevate the entire experience. His attention to detail, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm for sharing the story behind the wines and food made the visit even more memorable. It's rare to encounter someone who truly embodies the spirit of a place like he does, and his dedication made us feel like we were part of something extraordinary. The food is exceptional, prepared with local ingredients that complement the stunning wines produced right on site. Each dish feels like a reflection of the region, beautifully paired with wines that highlight the unique terroir of the Valle de Uco. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience, one that you’ll remember long after you’ve left. For anyone visiting this area, this winery and restaurant are an absolute must. It’s a perfect example of how passion, service, and a deep connection to the land can come together to create something truly special.

Stellar experience not to be missed in Tupungato.

Sunday lunch must be one of the most fun times to go. They had a saxophonist playing to recorded music. He played slower great jazz songs and then as folks I guess were further along in their meal, he picked up the tempo and soon had lots of folks dancing!! My wife had the 3-course with wine and I had the 5-course. We enjoyed all of the courses. I had 5 different higher-end wines (than the 3 my wife had) and they left them on the table the entire meal. So she actually got to taste them. Note…don’t be in a rush. After 2.5 hours, we did have to ask for the check when we got dessert, as we had one more winery…but we could have easily stayed to enjoy the dancing more. The food was really good, especially the corn soup, empanadas, pulled pork and all 3 desserts! The wines on the 3-course were ok…but very good with the 5-course. It was packed so I’d recommend to make reservations!

La Azul is the ideal place to go with friends and have a great time. Wine is excellent, food is great and big portions. We have the 5 course meal and it did not disappoint. Mariano is the best waiter ever. I have visited this place several times and the only ingredient missing this last time was as the music player. He was not there and we really missed him. I’m planning on coming back with more friends as soon as possible.

Amazing! We had the best time here, the food was incredible at a great price. And can we talk about the wine tasting! They leave the bottle on the table and you can have as much as you want. Our semollier spoke excellent English too and he made the vibes great. The views of the Andes were a great place to have lunch. This place is on my list if we go again, might go for the smaller wine pairing as the larger one was was too much haha! Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you go to Valle de uco. We went to another winery after this, but that was a mistake, should have stayed here for the rest of the afternoon. Next time, try a winery in the morning, then come here for lunch and stay the rest of the afternoon. The lemon dessert option was memorable as well, and that's saying something!

La Azul is a great place. The 5 course tasting menu was amazing and definitely worth it. The staff was kind and the energy of La Azul was uplifting. With the 5 course tasting, the main course could be drastically reduced. So much of it went to waste and we all agreed the entree could have been cut in half and still been plenty of food. The wine tasting was casual, it felt a bit more or just table wine with lunch but still very enjoyable

One of the most picturesque locations in the valley- we loved the architecture and ambiance of this winery. The tour was robotic and we are not sure if that had to do with the language barrier or not. We were inside most of the time and missing the stunning natural scenery! The wine cellar is very neat, however, didn’t need to spend much time there. Wines were our least favorite of what we tried- quite a diverse selection, however, mostly dry and mineral flavors. Not our preference. Location, scenery and ambiance- 5 stars! Tour and wines- 4 stars.

The location and ambiance for the sunset tasting were beautiful. However, the tasting menu and service left much to be desired. The sunset tasting comes with a bottle of wine but we received little explanation of the food or wine itself. For the price of the 3 hour tasting, we expected more engaged service to pair with the meal. Neighboring vineyards charge the same for substantially more of a meal and experience.
Emilee O — Google review
We stopped here for a wine tasting with the Wine Bus Vitivinícola. At $42 per person, it’s on the pricey side. While the wines were good, we were surprised to discover that the tasting of four wines featured selections from their lower range, priced at around $10–$20 per bottle. It was not worth it—the wines were nice, but they definitely didn’t justify the crazy price. That said, the building and the surroundings are simply stunning and out guide was lovely.

We stopped here for a wine tasting. For 40$ p.P. it's quite pricey, but it was totally worth it! We had around 5-6 different wines and all of them were really good. What kinda stuck me, you even can taste the premium line of wine, which we often could not do at other vineyards. Combined with some bread and great olive oil, this was a really good experience and Tour! The Building and the surroundings are stunning and you don't need to stay there overnight to have a good view over the vineyard and the Andes. 100% recommended! Would love to come back again, maybe next time staying overnight for a stunning sunset.

Domaine Bousquet is a winery founded by the Bousquet family, who brought their four generations of winemaking tradition from Carcassonne, southern France to Mendoza in the 1990s. Situated in Gualtallary, Tupungato, at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, the winery benefits from the unique soil and climate of the region.
This bodega and the restaurant is a must visit in the area. Probably my favorite winery. They have taken organic wine to the next level, the level of dedication and straight up science that goes into making this wine makes it extremely sophisticated but the whole ambiance remains friendly and fresh. Because of the low amount of sulfates in the wine you can drink large amounts without feeling sick or hungover. We did the 5 course lunch with wine pairing and I must say the chef blew my mind. All the ingredients are from the vineyards garden and farm including the olive oil. If you are running short on time I would definitely recommend the restaurant as a must try. The lodge/hotel is also super cute if you can stay the night, rooms have everything you need with a view of the Andes that is to die for. The staff is so sweet and caring and provided a great service every step of the way. This is actually one of the first vineyards in the area and the story of the family that owns it is remarkable. Prices are pretty good for the service and the level of the experience. Do not pass up on the chance to visit, you will not regret it.

Highly recommend visiting when in the Uco Valley. Outstanding organic wines paired beautifully with the divine 5 course lunch. Chef is most talented! The winery tour and team working there are amazing especially Mariella and Julia who are super knowledgeable and welcoming! Delicious experience- thank you.

Great wine-pairing meal. The Cab Sav was amazing. The chef stopped by everyone's table to get honest feedback. The steak was perfect. We started outside, but when the weather turned, they had plenty of room inside with a view for all the guests. The tour at the end certainly showed the pride they have in their product.

We visited for the 3 course lunch and had an incredible time! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The three course meal was incredible, my husband says it’s his favourite dish he’s had in Argentina so far! Our lunch started with a red blend wine which was our favourite, and the chef’s tapas which included a cheese spread, empanadas and soup. All three were incredible and there was lots of fresh bread. We chose the filet mignon for our main course which came topped with chimichurri and a side of vegetables of different textures and a cauliflower purée. The wine that was paired with the main course was a cabarnet franc. Our desert was a selection of dulces and cheeses that paired perfectly with the rose brut. The views were incredible and we were lucky to be visited by Gaia the restaurant cat! A wonderful experience and very reasonably priced. Don’t miss out on this one!

It’s so enchanting to see a vineyard actually producing biodynamic wines. This is not a review of the restaurant, but rather of the vineyard and a vineyard tour and the tasting. We went to this vineyard as part of a full day tour, and we were very happy that the guide picked it, as it was wonderful to go to an organic vineyard. They take it seriously! I’ve had a tiny bit of education on biodynamic, and from what I understand, Bousquet is really making it happen! And the wines were wonderful. I know this is going to sound awful, but some of the organic wines that I can find back in the states really leave me flat. And I honestly mean flat, in that it feels like there’s no finish to them. They just sort of stop in your mouth. By contrast, these were full and rich and interesting and varied. From the rosé to the reds, we really enjoyed the offerings. The tour was great as well. I love all of the other fruit and veg they are growing, assuming for the restaurant. It was interesting to learn the history of the vineyard as well. Our guide was excellent. Then we retreated to the tasting room, which was small, but beautifully decorated, especially the ceiling! I think the only part that dragged for me was the video. The video felt like it was very much praising the owners and winemakers, and it went on for too long. It felt a little self- important. But the rest of the tour and our guide were wonderful. And the tasting includes some small bits of cheeses and other bites, such as nuts, which was refreshing change of pace from some of the other vineyards. However, the amount of wine that was poured in the tastings was a little bit less than the other vineyards we had been to that day. There was one wine in particular that I just wanted to try a little bit more of and would have liked to have had a bit more wine in each pour. I only wish it had been a sunny day so we could really see the entire view, but, this was still an enchanting part of our experience. We definitely took home a few bottles!

Visiting Domaine Bousquet was a truly memorable experience. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Andes, the winery exudes a sense of harmony with nature. Their organic wines, especially the Malbec, are exceptional—bold yet beautifully balanced, with a clear reflection of the terroir. The warmth of the staff made the experience even more special, and the food pairings at their restaurant elevated the wines to another level. Knowing their commitment to sustainability made every sip feel even more meaningful. It’s a place I’d return to in a heartbeat.

Great experience love what they are doing to help sustain the environment. I had my doubts on the organic wine experience but I was pleasantly surprised they are doing a great job crafting organic wine. Valentino was our guide today and was an excellent host! Definitely Recommend.

This place was recommended by our hotel concierge, and it is truly a hidden diamond in the area. Outside of Mendoza city center, roughly an hour drive you will find yourself driving down a picturesque landscape grapevines as far as the eyes can see. Once we reached the parking lot, we headed to the second floor restaurant. Staff there are welcoming and they let us either pick an indoor or outdoor seating. The scenery can’t be missed so we elected to enjoy our lunch outdoors. The sun deck had a canopy to provide shade but it did not disrupt the views. The sun deck had a wonderful and cute staff, a tiger kitty, purring at eat table for a snack. For lunch we are given a choice or a 4 or 7 course pairing of wine for each course. We selected a 4 course and left they nicely buzzed and full to the brim. Honestly, one of the best meals I had in Argentina and it really didn’t hurt the wallet all that much. At the end of the meal, we headed our to the wine shop in the neighboring building and bought a few bottles we had for pairing. Please note you have to make a reservation or the security will not let you through the gates. This restaurant takes card.

(Translated by Google) We came here after reading the great reviews, and we did well! We were so well received; the tour of this 90-hectare family vineyard was very interesting. The tasting is very comprehensive, with six wines and a delicious cheese and charcuterie platter. We 100% recommend coming here to anyone who loves kindness and good wines. The prices are also very reasonable, and if we had had more space, we would have bought more. Thank you so much! A beautiful vineyard and excellent tour. Maria and Rafa were super-friendly and helpful from our arrival and Maria was an excellent guide through our tour and tasting. The wines we tasted were remarkable - the gran Malbec and the gran Cabernet Franc were incredibly smooth. A great value tasting - we will definitely be buying a few bottles of these awesome wines.

We signed up for a last-minute visit to Pulenta Estate and were lucky enough to be hosted by Maria—what an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, Maria was warm, welcoming, and so attentive. Her knowledge of the wines, the history of the estate, and the region truly elevated the entire tasting. Out of the four wineries we visited during our time in Mendoza, Pulenta Estate was hands-down our favorite, and Maria played a huge part in that. Her passion for what she does comes through in every detail, and she made us feel right at home. I highly recommend a visit to Pulenta Estate

Connie and the team at Pulenta Estate went above and beyond accommodating our large group of 25! They pulled out all the stops to provide an educational tour and tasting. The wines were phenomenal! Especially the Cabernet Franc!

We had a tour and a wine tasting and it was amazing. (In English) One of the most beautiful bodegas we saw in Mendoza en the best service. It was interesting and unhurried. They helped us out with the taxi and many recommendations for the area. Also the Pulenta wine itself is amazing and they let you taste their star wines. Would 100% recommend and go back.

Amazing winery. Obviously the view is amazingly stunning. But more importantly the wines are good. We came without a reservation and luckily enough were offered a (private) tour and enjoyed it. They also have some vintage engines to be enjoyed by the connoisseurs ;). Rafa was amicable and really gave us all the info we wished to hear on this tour.

Had a great 3-course lunch experience here. Beautiful atmosphere and great food.
Lina A — Google review
We did a drop-in wine tasting recently here, asking to taste the high-end wines from this bodega. The server said yes. We were not served the better wines from Piattelli, only their entry level, mediocre wines. I learned later in day at in-town wine bar that the winery has much better wines available. Also, our server was somewhat inexperienced, pouring too little to adequately taste, and having limited knowledge of wines in general. The facility, however, was very nice. My recommendation- DO NOT do a drop in tasting here, a waste of time.

Delicious wines, beautiful place and great olive oil. Melisa was simply extraordinary. Muchas gracias!!!
Pablo S — Google review
We booked through the phone reservation service with no problem in English. Our reservation was confirmed by email. We had an excellent four course meal with wine pairings. The food presentation was spectacular, and the wines paired with the meal were excellent. We liked it so much, that we went back the very next day. If I couldn’t prove anything, it would be the view. We sat overlooking the pond, but could not really see the Vineyard or the mountains.

We had an amazing tour with Clarita this past weekend. She spoke both technically and creatively about the process of making the wine, and really brought the flavors to life during the tasting. Would highly recommend a tour here.

Carolina was an excellent English speaking host. Tasted Gran Reserva AND Icon Wines. She tasted with us and took a generous amount of time helping us understand their wines and the nuances of taste and smell. Shared interesting information on their northern vineyard in Salta and high elevation wines in general. Highly recommended!!

Catena Zapata

Winery
Food & Drink
Catena Zapata is a renowned winery with a main building designed in Mayan style, famous for its high-altitude Malbec. Founded by Nicola Catena, an Italian immigrant, the winery initially adhered to ancient Italian traditions before transitioning to incorporate Californian-French techniques inspired by Napa Valley customs. Visitors have raved about their exceptional wine tours and tastings, praising the knowledgeable guides and top-notch experience.
Our favorite wine tour in Mendoza. The legendary winery and iconic structure are truly one-of-a-kind. We loved the wine blending class and learned so much from our fantastic host Paula. Her viticultural expertise and descriptive skill absolutely made the day. Make Catena Zapata a must-visit!
Kenny S — Google review
Visiting Catena Zapata was an extraordinary experience. They exemplify the clear vision of a family business committed to bringing Argentine wine to the highest level of quality, variety, and research, and sharing this with the world. The winery is an architectural gem that pays homage to the Mayan culture. Its wines are gems in Mendoza that deserve to be discovered and enjoyed. The hospitality team's attention was unbeatable. Pablo explained the wines with the passion any family member would have, but Daniel ultimately finished with a flourish by showing us a distillery that in five years will proclaim to the world that good things come to those who wait. Catena Zapata is a must-see if you come to Mendoza, and if not, it's worth the trip to experience this magnificent project, a blend of extraordinary wines, art, architecture, gastronomy, culture, and the finest people.

We contacted the winery directly via Whatapp a month prior and only a 9.30am tour was available in english, so I would suggest booking at least 2-3 months ahead! It was a very condensed tour which included a blending and tasting of 5 vineyard blocks of Malbec. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and we were able to purchase additional wine tastings from their enomatic dispensers in their store at the end of the tour.

I did the Spanish language “wine and music” tour with Joanna, it was an incredible experience delivered by such a passionate and knowledgeable guide. Spanish is not my first language but listening to Joanna was like watching a professional TV host - I could understand everything! Next, I’m a musician and was skeptical that the taste of wine could be influenced by music - but seeing is believing and I now know it’s true! What an eye opening experience. The wines were exquisite also. I Highly recommend the guided tour at this legendary winery.

My dream comes true 🥰 Amazing experience. Luxury place. We visited wine blending tour and it was unforgettable. Catena Zapata my favorite wine 🫶🏼🍷 Thank you so much for this wonderful time!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Catena Zapata tour with Daniel. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and responsive to every question we had. His dynamic storytelling made the experience both fun and informative. Daniel speaks perfect English and clearly has a wealth of experience and deep insight into the world of wine. I truly appreciated his passion and professionalism—it made the tour unforgettable.
Alexander P — Google review
Having been in other world known wineries in Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Napa, St Emilio’s, etc, Catena offers an interesting visit with small groups, beautiful tasting rooms, and a Tikal- inspired winery that’s very iconic compared to other wineries which don’t have an emblematic or special façade. However, for the price ($80 per person), not having some sort of food (except nuts), is surprising specially when other bigger more important wineries (such as Pago de Carraovejas) offer finger food for their own 2 star michellin restaurant for $60 per person. In a way it feels like a tourist trap.
Honest C — Google review
We had the pleasure of enjoying a private tour at the legendary Catena Zapata winery, and it was truly unforgettable. Danny guided us through the tour, sharing fascinating stories and history about the winery, which made the experience so engaging and special. The wine tasting with Carolina was equally amazing, her knowledge and passion made it even more enjoyable. To top it off, we visited the distillery beneath the Angelica Restaurant with Danny, where we discovered unique spirits. what an incredible experience! Thank you so much!
