This is used in gardens, squares and parks, and is rich in all the nutrients essential for the health of plants. There are more than 5 km of gardens on the waterfront of the city of Santos. It is the largest continuous garden in the world. Always well-kept, with several trees, shrubs and a wide variety of flowers. The waterfront gardens are the city's postcard. In the gardens, you can also find several busts and monuments that make up the history of Santos and the world. Even in winter, with the leaves lying on the ground, while the cleaning battalion is in action to remove all the leaves from the beautiful trees that provide wonderful shade. The gardens are beautiful. Take the opportunity to see several birds singing and flying in the city's beautiful gardens. The Baixada Santista region has more than 270 species of birds. On the waterfront, you will find images of 100 species of birds in the gardens. Not tourist friendly. Staff can’t speak any word English. On the site there is a price at 40, but on arrival they double it. When we wanted to order online the website did not work. Then the cashier Said we could not enter because it will rain soon. After multiple times asking we could go in, but lost apxm one hour at entrance! Locker costs 25Rs

This place is COOL. And it has more fun than you can handle in one day. To go there and think you'll want to go home because you are so tired, think again, that's when you get your second wind.

We went to stay two nights and left after lunch on the first day. The place looks nothing like the photos on the website. It was dirty, blankets from last century, food served was dry and very little variety. The way it was served was with a lack of interest as was the general feeling of all the park. A real pity for our 10 year olds birthday surprise
Christopher M — Google review
The food seemed reasonable to me. Espatinhos, mini pizzas, and pastéis were all R$7 and were as good quality as you would find in any Festa Junina. The pastel was even big. The baru was particularly good. The park was very cute. It was obvious they paid attention to the small details. The rides were a lot of fun, especially the Nitro-x and the other ride right next to it (that one was maybe even better!) We spent about 7 hours there and didn't even do everything. It could be worth it to stay the night at the Posada and spend the whole weekend there.

Paulista: The Heartbeat of São Paulo The most famous avenue in São Paulo vibrant, lively, and full of energy all day long. It’s lined with offices, cafés, museums, and street performers. Landmarks like MASP, Japan House, and Casa das Rosas are must-sees. On Sundays, the avenue closes to traffic and turns into a street festival of music, dance, and art. Even on weekdays, it never loses its rhythm. Between the tall buildings, you’ll also notice people living in tents a quiet reminder of the city’s social contrasts. Take a day to walk, listen, and observe. To understand São Paulo, start with Paulista. 🌿#PaulistaAvenue #SãoPaulo #TravelBrazil

Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand

Mentioned on

Art museum
Museums
The Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand, also known as MASP, is an iconic building that houses one of Latin America's most important art collections. Designed by Lina Bo Bardi in the mid-1960s, this glass-and-concrete gem is located on Avenida Paulista and offers a wonderful collection of European and Latin American art.
The Museum of São Paulo is a great place to spend a few hours if you enjoy history and culture. The exhibits cover many aspects of Brazil’s past and present, but the highlight for me was the art on the second floor focused on racism. It is powerful, emotional, and thought-provoking—something everyone should see. The museum is well-organized, easy to walk through, and gives you a deeper understanding of the city and its people. Definitely worth a visit.
Gaurav J — Google review
The long, Brutalist structure looms over Paulista Avenue, its weighty monumental form seemingly suspended on flaming-red concrete piers. More than just architecture, it’s an urban sculpture—bold, functional, and commanding. Beneath its vast undercroft, a public plaza unfolds, a space carved from the very air it hovers over. The top floor houses the museum’s permanent collection—where space and display become their own form of functional art. Hundreds of paintings—modern, avant-garde, contemporary, and classical—seem to float on crystal easels, creating an eerie, almost transcendental effect. This unconventional display allows viewers to see both the front and back of each piece, transforming them from static, two-dimensional works into dynamic, almost sculptural objects. It’s an experience that feels refreshingly out of the box. This museum is idiosyncratic and breathtaking at the same time. Highly recommended.
Eddie C — Google review
This might be the most exciting fine art museum I’ve ever seen — and not because of its extraordinary collection, but because of how the artworks are presented. Take a moment to read about why the architect chose to display them this way — it’s truly unique, and the experience stays with you long after you leave.
Máté S — Google review
Third time here, always a great experience. Tons of art from different time periods and cool exhibitions, and I love how the permanent collection in the “original” museum on the top floor is staged in clear boxes. Worth going every day but especially when free on Tuesdays!!!
Christian C — Google review
A great museum to visit in Sao Paulo. If you just have time only for one museum this should be the one. A stunning architectural structure by the modernist Italian born Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi finished in 1968. In the first and second floor the paintings are just hold by a very clever glass structure which makes them look like they are swing from above. The glass structure gives you also to see the back of the painting and enjoy the piece of art from every side. A very unique display and I must say the best way you can present paintings. A beautiful must see museum of Art which accommodates Picasso, Mattisse, Monet, El Greco, Velasquez, Rubens, Tintoretto, Max Ernst and many more.
Marios T — Google review
It's nice museum and worth visiting, only I think they could put little bit more things there.
Jallal — Google review
Histories of Ecology climate change exhibit in the shorter building and lovely paintings hanging in rows on level 2 in the taller building.
Kayla S — Google review
Perhaps the most iconic building of São Paulo, Lina Bo Bardi’s MASP was a total shock when it was constructed in the 1960’s. The unparalleled design mixes a suspended main body which frees up space for a public plaza which serves as well as the roof for two more floors that opens to the opposite side of Avenida Paulista. The iconic open space of the second floor’s gallery once again holds the Works of art in glass and concrete bases.

Sé Metropolitan Cathedral

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral Metropolitana da Sé de São Paulo is a breathtaking neo-Gothic masterpiece that dominates the skyline of São Paulo. Constructed in the early 20th century, this monumental cathedral can accommodate up to 8,000 worshippers and visitors alike. Its stunning architecture features soaring spires and a Renaissance-style dome, making it an iconic landmark in Cathedral Square. Inside, you'll be mesmerized by exquisite stained glass windows sourced from France and Italy, which cast vibrant colors throughout the vast interior.
The Cathedral of was first started in 1589 in São Paulo Village. It has been demolished and rebuilt several times over the centuries. The current Cathedral was started in 1913 and completed in 1967. It's built with rare marble, granite, wood and stained glass. It has a dome shape entrance with a height of 92 meters. Better to visit with a guide.
Soudamini M — Google review
It’s an impressive and beautiful landmark, worth visiting for its architecture and history. I recommend going with a local if possible as the surrounding area has a large homeless presence and I was approached by one person. That said, there was a visible police presence with about four police cars right in front of the cathedral which made me feel safer during the visit.
Marianne M — Google review
Sé Metropolitan Cathedral is definitely a spot worth checking out for anyone who loves to travel and explore historical landmarks. The front of the church is absolutely beautiful, it’s the kind of architecture that makes you pause and admire, especially if you're into photographing iconic places. It’s a must-visit for tourists and travel enthusiasts alike. That said, there are a couple of things that could really elevate the experience. The exterior colors have faded over time and the building would benefit from some maintenance to bring back its original charm. Inside, I found the lighting to be quite dim, which took away from the grandeur of the interior space. Aside from those issues, the rest of the experience is decent. If you’re in São Paulo and have an interest in churches or historical sites, it’s still worth a visit.

The cathedral itself is great, but there are a lot of homeless people around it. You should be mindful of the surroundings. The entrance to thr cathedral is free, which is also great.

The São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral, also known as Catedral da Sé, is located right in the city center of São Paulo. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, it recently underwent significant restoration to preserve its stunning neo-Gothic architecture. We just walked by and spent a few minutes inside, and the interior is truly majestic—full of intricate details and beautiful stained glass windows. From a distance, the cathedral’s twin spires and large dome make for a magnificent sight. Entry is free, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.
Andrew G — Google review
An impressive cathedral with stunning design and artwork. When I visited on a Sunday, entry was free. There were plenty of police around for security, but the atmosphere still felt calm and relaxed.
Ahmed A — Google review
Magnificent one of the most impressive cathedrals l have seen. The columns rival that of Westminster cathedral in London.
Paul C — Google review
A neo-Gothic masterpiece in the heart of the city! This stunning cathedral boasts towering spires, intricate stained glass, and a massive organ. The crypt holds historic relics, and the plaza outside buzzes with street life. Free entry, but watch for pickpockets. A must-see for architecture and history lovers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

Shopping
The Mercado Municipal Paulistano, also known as Mercadao, is a historic market located in the old city center of Centro. Built in the 1930s, this magnificent market hall features skylights and stained-glass windows and is bustling with vendors offering rare fruits, vegetables, dairy produce, meat, fish, and more.
Interesting experience and many options to try and choose from. Just know that when they offer you samples, you will end up buying stuff and they don’t give you the price until they already wrapped and bagged things. You’ll end up paying 60 USD for 4 piece of fruit, which you can find in typical stores for 10 dollars.
Parihan R — Google review
This is a well-organized and clean market that offers a wide range of goods—from preserved meats, fresh fish, and spices to nuts and other local products. While it seems to have become more of a tourist attraction than a place locals frequent for daily shopping, it’s still worth a visit. The second floor has sit-down restaurants, making it a good spot to take a break and enjoy a proper meal. Prices are reasonable overall. One of the highlights here is the famous mortadella sandwich—a must-try if you’re visiting for the first time. Overall, a nice place to explore local flavors and pick up a few souvenirs or snacks. Just expect a more tourist-oriented vibe.
Andrew G — Google review
Landed in São Paulo after a red eye so we needed to stay awake so we could sleep tonight…dropped off bags, showered, and headed to the market, one of my absolute favorite places in SP! Our driver took great care of us as he guided us to a friend working a fruit stall where we ate our fill in samples of some of the best tasting fruit you’ll ever try…Dragon Fruit, Passion Fruit, Yellow Avocado, Jack Fruit, Strawberries wrapped in dates, zero filter on that 🍊orange slice it was amazing! Got some dehydrated provolone discs and cubes of Parmesan…could spend hours in this market…a must stop when you come up São Paulo 🙌🏽
Eugene J — Google review
An incredible place to discover local and international exotic fruits and vegetables, meat vendors, pubs, bars, restaurants and much much more. A lively and bustling vibe. The only precaution, rather don't walk to this destination. Take a bus, taxi or Uber which takes you directly to this market.
Ele V — Google review
We came here close to the closing time but we still manage to grant our sandwich. The main reason we came to this market was to try this sandwich and it did not disappoint. The market itself has a lot of stalls, with nuts, fish, fruit, cheese and charcuterie and places to sit down and eat and drink. It's a nice stop if you are in the area.
Ana C — Google review
Not quite authentic. Lots of replication of stalls and restaurants. But it was a great mix of fruit, meats, seafood, wine bars, and restaurants. It's very clean and has a great energy. Maybe avoid the folks offering free samples but do try the cod pastel and the mortadela sandwiches. It just sit down for a glass of wine.
Gabriel B — Google review
Amazing place to shop for meat, cheese, olives, peanuts, sweets, fruit and also includes large restaurants that you can get the Mortadella Sandwich. Boca’s was the best place for Pastels (they actually fill them full and are overflowing with meat. The Maine sandwich shop (called Maine) was the best for Mortadellas. Be aware that the sales in this market are very aggressive and pushy. They will practically cut fruit and put it in your mouth as samples. The restaurants will practically hold your hand to seat you so that you order food. Didn’t bother me and all you need to do is stand your ground. One American to another 🇺🇸 😉
Sammy S — Google review
Be careful! The place is beautiful and historic, but the fruit vendors take advantage of tourists. I was asking about the price of the fruit, they gave me several to try, and then they charged me a lot of money for just a few pieces. Since they were "local" fruits, I thought the price would be a bit more expensive, but it turned out they were ripping people off. DON'T TRUST THEM. It was a horrible experience to not feel safe. I wasn't bargaining or denying to pay the correct price and yet they took advantage. My worst experience in SP.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Square Exaggeration is a remarkable tourist attraction that features an expansive park adorned with gigantic replicas of various objects, such as a chess board, pencils, and even ants. This public park stands out due to its unique sculptures, displaying the city's distinctive character. However, one minor drawback is that the maze could be improved by offering more intricate pathways rather than just a straightforward route leading to the center from two directions.

Great public park. Very different with all the sculptures. Shows great character for the city. Only drawback for me, I'd like the maze to actually be a maze not just a straight run to the middle from two directions

Art museum
The Pinacoteca de São Paulo stands as a testament to Brazil's rich artistic heritage, making it one of the country's oldest and most significant art museums. Nestled in a stunning neoclassical structure originally designed for the School of Arts and Crafts, this museum showcases an impressive collection that ranges from 19th-century Brazilian paintings and sculptures to contemporary works. Its history is intertwined with various historical events, including conflicts in the early 20th century, which adds depth to its narrative.
Beautiful art museum! Museum has 3 levels, there is also a balcony on the front and back of the building on the 3rd level that has a nice view of the street and in the back a nice view of the park. I would make sure that if you are outside in the street don’t stay for long or take your phone out at all. There are many many homeless people in the area that steal from people regularly.
Brandon H — Google review
Definitely worth paying R30 for this museum as it has so many exhibitions and they were all amazing! The exhibitions were also in English and made it so much easier for us to enjoy! The ticket also includes the contemporary art in another building. We ended up spending over 2 hours here but could’ve easily spend half a day here. Highly recommend this to everyone!
James P — Google review
I enjoyed this art museum. It has a nice mix of old art and contemporary art. The only artist I actually knew about before visiting is a Rodin statue. But it was fun to learn more about Brazilian artists. I was hoping to visit some other art museums but all the other museums were closed on Monday...But the Pinacoteca was open! They get an extra star just for being open on the day I was in town. The gardens around the museum are beautiful and peaceful. But the restaurant had a long line so I did not get to eat there.

I loved this gallery. The exhibits are diverse, well curated, and educational for those new to Brazilian artists. There’s a cafe and shop worthy of stops, too. Highly recommend!

This is a fascinating house with many rooms of art by different artists. The ladscaping breathtaking and the day i was there live music and artistic acts. Right across the street from the famous Luz station

One of the most beautiful museums I've been to. They have a great selection of pieces, with differing mediums, the space is clean and comfortable. The main entry goes thru a sunroom with super high glass ceilings, currently showing pieces done with wood, so you can smell the sap being warned by the sun. The staff was friendly and kind, very helpful and attentive. Bathrooms were clean. The pieces being showcased are very well selected, I think. And the infrastructure is beautiful.

Outlet Premium

Outlet mall
Shopping
Outlet Premium is a well-known destination for shoppers looking for a wide variety of brand name stores in a modern, landscaped outdoor setting. It offers a pleasant weekend getaway with its selection of restaurants. The range of stores includes popular brands like Nike, Puma, Calvin Klein, and Diesel, among others. While prices can vary depending on one's luck, there are great deals to be found as well as some items that may be pricier than in regular shops.
Too many brands at the place and you can find some good prices.
Gilberto M — Google review
Nice place to go and spend a weekend. Concerning the stores, here you will find a good selection of those (Nike, Puma, Calvin Klein, Diesel, and others). About the prices, depending on how lucky you are, I've already found some very good deals as well as I ve already found some items that were more expensive here them in the ordinary shop. About the food, not the best but not the worst as well. Good enough for an average lunch.
Paulo J — Google review
Expensive parking but rental cars are free. This is a "fashion mall". There's a parking garage and store side spaces. Prices are false, ALWAYS at a discount. Shop for convenience and variety but NOT price. A very busy place with customers coming from Sao Paulo city and Campinas areas. Very easy to get lost, poor signage.
Howard R — Google review
Massive range of stores. Plenty of food and drinks and nice things to see like the fish ponds.
X — Google review
Awesome outdoor outlet mall! There are many options, some on the higher priced name brand. Variety of restaurants throughout and a small food court area. Great walking and shopping atmosphere. The only reason I am giving 4, not 5 stars, is due to the parking, on busy days it can be very difficult to find parking. The parking lot doesn't keep track of spaces so you can find yourself entering the paid lot and not finding a spot and then have to exit and drive around to the added parking garage which is also paid parking and also doesn't keep track of the vehicle count.
Shawn H — Google review
Comfy drive from either SP or Campinas, Generous parking lot and good arrangement of shoppes.
Angelo V — Google review
I have driven by this place many times without knowing it was even there. It was only when I saw Rafa Ribeiro post about it on Instagram I decided to visit, since I was passing. The place looks great, however, when we visited on a Tuesday lunchtime, the place was packed! Parking was stressful and could use some management or guidance. People were parked everywhere, literally! To my surprise we did find a space. We were hungry, and wow, every food place was packed, and the seated restaurants had huge waits, so it would seem best to arrive earlier and make sure the first thing you do is book a restaurant, or eat before you come. There was a great mix of stores, however the busiest and most popular stores, like NIKE and Adidas seemed on the small side, they were packed with customers, and surely could use larger stores. As for the prices, maybe for Brazil is good, but even with the favourable exchange rate from the UK the European stores seemed expensive for sure. I would visit again, but would hope to find a quieter time.

Wet'n Wild

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Wet'n Wild is an expansive and vibrant water park with a multitude of slides, a wave pool, and occasional DJ-led events. While the food court options are limited and slightly expensive, children often delight in the burger meals available. Moreover, there are also more affordable snack choices that benefit parents financially. The staff members are exceptionally helpful and amiable. However, one drawback is the steep price for parking at 50R$, especially when considering the already high ticket price of 99R$.
Great day out, I really enjoyed this water park and my 11year old neice also had fun. The park wasn't busy, queues were short, it was clean and tidy and the food and drink on offer was of a good enough standard. The yellow capsule drop slide was scary but fun, and the white half pipe and family rubber ring slides were my favourite. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone to visit and would go again.
Tristan C — Google review
A very disappointing visit to a very unkept “wet n wild” theme park chain. The water was ice cold, half the rides weren’t operational and most of the food stores were close. We visited on a weekend during these past Christmas school holidays. Wet N Wild, how about not neglecting Brazil’s theme park and ripping off the locals for every penny to enter. It is absolutely outrageous you charge a fee for children under 3 years old. In AUSTRALIA the children’s entry starts at 3 years old so answer me this why are you charging the patron’s in Brazil???? I can not believe we had to pay for my 1 year old son to enter to not even be able to enjoy some play because the water was like the Atlantic. One very disappointing visit to see how much you have let it get run down. Especially when the locals don’t know any different, I will make it clear. WET N WILD BRAZIL you are over priced, you need maintenance and a full renovation. Absolutely appalling how run down this venue had become. My advice: don’t bother wasting your time or your hard earned money at this theme park.
Courtney L — Google review
Wet n wild is a great place to visit if you have little kids or teens. It has a great atmosphere and lots of different ride options. Most of the lines aren't too long except for the Vortex which is about a 30 min wait. Olga, Luiz Carlos and Kevin were very helpful. The food is okay the snack bar is mostly burgers and it's quite unhealthy. The place is a bit worn down - most of the rides haven't been painted in a while and there are very few floaties for rides making the wait longer than it needs to be. However, it was an overall amazing experience.
Lucia B — Google review
Nice place to spend a day but needs a lot of improvements. You can see they didn’t invest one dollar from the day they opened 10-20 years ago. But overall nice

Avoid at all costs during the weekend. I went with my 14 yo kid and 10 of his friends. Here is our journey: * Parking is well organized and reasonably priced (r$ 60) * It took us 75 minutes to get in the park - that's because we bought tickets in advance. There was no shade, drinks or staff in the entrance line * We had to wait 60 minutes more in line to get a locker. * We chose a ride that was not too busy. We "only" had to wait 45 minutes in line. That means that it took three hours from the time we arrived to the time we took our first ride. * The kids took another ride and off we went for lunch. 35 minutes in line, and the tables were dirty and full of flies. What an unforgettable experience to have lunch surrounded by thousands of flies. * We took one most popular rides in the afternoon and it was time to go. * In a nutshell, we arrived at 10am and left at 4 pm, for a total of 6 hours in the park. We took 3-4 rides, each of which lasted about 45 seconds. That averages out to 2 hours wait for every minute of riding. * Staff is friendly, but poorly trained. When we want to buy an ice cream, it took staff 3 minutes to sell one popsicle. * Management don't apparently enforce any capacity limit to the park. There were clearly four times more people in the park that there should be. There is zero chance lifeguard could see any kid drowning - which luckily didn't happen. * There is medical examination to be in the park - and there were a few people with obvious and apparent skin diseases that shouldn't be there. That, combined with a 35 degrees Celsius temperature made this trip the worst trip of my last 20 years of life (where I have been travelling extensively for work and tourism across 25+ countries in 5 continents)

Eat before you leave your home. My wife always talk to me that would she like to go in a water club. Although, we live in a city with beach she prefers fresh water. The last month we went to Jundiaí SP and we resolve have fun in a club, so we choose Wet'n Wild. I already paid 50R$ only to park my car under the sun. inside the club we wasted some time find place for accommodation but I not found. However, we like the wave swim and the place for kids. Finally we went have a meal and one more time wast more time in the line. When our time arrived there weren't desks available we had eat standing up under the sun.

Crazy expensive and over priced. Prices are abusive. Its not as fun as i remembered and I got hurt in qll the rides. Make sure to buy tickets before you go, otherwise you pay $50 more. Plus another $50 just for parking, and another $30 for a locker. Like I said, abusive.

It was really good. I visited on a weekend Saturday, and the lines for some rides were crazy long . After 5 hours, I had completed 4 rides and a snack. Wait-time for some attractions were almost 45 mins. The fastest was 10 mins. The vip pass should be incorporated into a ticket, but to pay R$200 in addition to $170 for entry was too crazy especially when buying 4 tickets. If you only have cash their is a location after the Egyptian site that issues a rechargeable card.

Amazing place more suitable for older kids maybe 8 to 9 years cause the interesting games are for older kids. But it is an amazing structure full of games you would need a whole day for this. The restaurants are not very practical for kids and not super clean. But overall amazing place.

It's a good place, the biggest problem is there's no free water to drink, covid is over already but you can't find water, only way it's to buy a water bottle. The hamburger is really bad but at least is cheap, the buildings is in need of repairs. Now on the good side, a lot of attractions, a big team to help you, organized line and almost all works are smiling.

Hopi Hari is a nice theme park to spend a day. I highly recommend purchasing the VIP pass because the line wait times prevented us from riding all the rides; the VIP pass is quite expensive though. The rides we rode were fun and the evening show was amazing! The food quality was average but I enjoyed the bacon and cheddar fries.

Great place! The day I visited (Feb 9th 2019) the park was very clean and with just a few people inside, I would say 2500 people. The lines were incredibly fast. The restaurants had slow service. The park is recovering from a strong crisis. It has been refurbished and everything is shining new, but the low number of visitors is still a sign that it still have a long way to go. But I loved it! 10!

A great place to spend a day with or without children. There are lots of different and varied facilities. It is not possible to pay on the spot in cash just to recharge a card or credit card. The icing on the cake was that anyone who has a birthday gets another card as a gift 🤩
Yifat A — Google review
Great park with very interesting concept: the place is its own country, and fun is the main rule. Unfortunately, they've always had financial issues, which currently leads to ever-in-maintenance attractions and the feeling that all of its potential is going to waste. Some of the coolest attractions were closed on February-21, when we visited the park. Employees are polite and gentle, but nothing compares to the reception at the entrance: clowns and other artists sing, dance and welcome the public, with contagious joy and excitement. They also seem concerned about COVID and wearing a mask is required at 100% of times, besides every attraction is cleaned with alcohol after a guest leaves. Attractions are not as radical as they seem, but roller coasters are definitely worth the experience. The wooden one is not only impressive, but it also crosses the road near the park, and is an unique experience. To avoid the kilometric lines, it's recommended to acquire a VIP pass. However, it costs BRL 120 or more (depending on the day), twice the entrance ticket value. This is expensive for Brazilian standards, but unfortunately it's the only way to have fun and enjoy your day at the park without wasting hours waiting in line. Food is overall too expensive and not tasty, so it's also recommended to take some snacks and try not to eat much. Taking water and sunscreen is also the most important thing and this is located on the countryside, and sun seems to hit differently when compared to São Paulo. To save money, take an Uber from Jundiaí train station. Overall, park fans can get a great experience for an expensive price. I wouldn't recommend it for people who are not willing to spend money, people who are not already willing to give it a chance, or very tall or large people (attractions seem designed for smaller and skinnier people. Most are not fit for people above 120kg, so a bigger person wouldn't fit a roller coaster seat, for example)

Visitors can explore the fascinating remnants of pre-electricity waterworks, including operational turbines over a century old.
Cute small museum about the water management around Piracicaba. The entrance is free and you can nicely walk around in the museum area. The museum has some models to explain the water management, aquariums with some fish, the old water cleaning facilities. In my opinion there could be more information in different parts of the museum. Parking closeby the museum is very easy on the street.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Zoo home to giraffes, elephants & flamingoes, plus prehistoric exhibits like dinosaur skeletons.
We had so much fun! Practically had the place to ourselves. The animals were active. An amazing zoo!

Amazing place to go with your family specially if you have kids, they will love it. The trails is quit long for small child's and they don't have accessibility, or if you go with a small kids you will have to carry them during some stages of the trail, but apart of it is an excellent place to visit. I recommend to arrive after lunch in hot days, you will need around 3 hours to do the course. It has a restaurant and cafeteria to eat.

Great place to bring children or for photographic safari if you like to make photos from wildlife under more controlled circumstances. Highly recommended!

Very good place. The enclosures can always be better in a Zoo, but they seem to treat the animals with respect and the place is very beautiful.

Overall very nice place but I found some of the places where they keep the animals too small

Jequitibá Woods Park is a popular urban leisure area, attracting around a million visitors annually. It features a vast native forest reserve housing a zoo with 300 mammal, bird, and reptile species. The park also boasts various facilities such as the Caboclo House, Natural History Museum, Carlos Maia Theater, and Municipal Aquarium. Additionally, visitors can explore Monsenhor Emilio Jose Salim Ecological Park and stroll through the urban woodland of Jequitiba Woods Park.
Very nice park. There are several exotic animals, many of them were rescued and were given shelter here. There are also wild, free animals like these cute agouti roaming everywhere in the park. It was a very enjoyable stroll around the park.
Noelia C — Google review
I really think this place should charge an entrance fee to improve the conditions for the animals. Loved it, the talking Araras, Monkeys- there are some that roam freely! And of course Cotias everywhere. I will have a full video on my YouTube channel: Curves on the road

Very nice park/zoo in the center of the city. Must visit. Amazing for just walking around and reading a book. You do not pay to enter this park so I was surprised it is well taken care of. Only problem is Brazilian people who do not pick up garbage after their visit! For anyone who is against zoos this place is more of a rescue center... research and stop being so negative. They are just trying to help these animals. Releasing them will kill them! Also this is educational for all kids and adults. Look at all the beauty it offers.

Beautiful park located in the middle of the city. Very calm and relaxing.

Amazing, peaceful, quiet place, fresh air in the morning, great environment for all ages. Tip, from 6am on, the small side gate on the entrance is open. 😉
Falaco R — Google review
The park is nice, great diversity of trees and bushes. But what I think is cruel, is to keep wild animals in captivity. They don't deserve to live this way. People in Campinas should change their minds and ask the municipality to free those animals, or at least take them to some kind of reserve outside the city, where they could roam a little. Lions and Leopards are kept in small compounds without even a little bit of green. Birds are living in small cages, which avoid them from flying.

The well-maintained trails make it ideal for activities like jogging or leisurely strolls. The park features natural enclosures housing tapirs, wild cats, flamingos, macaws, hippos, crocodiles, snakes, foxes and wild dogs.
A great zoo! It has a spacious area to walk through and many animals from Brazil, with a few from other countries. The monkeys are fun to watch. That said, few of the enclosures were empty...

Nice zoo, there are a lot of different animals and many animals from brazil. The lion and tiger enclosures were not accessible when we visited. They have many birds ranging from exotic ducks to several types of aras. They also have a hippo, several types of crocodiles, snakes, foxes and wild dogs. There are a couple of enclosures currently empty.
F. N — Google review
I visited this place just to see capibaras. Unfortunately for me, I only saw one. I think it was a bad luck. Besides capibaras, the park takes care of some monkeys, aras, but also some animals that I as European don't know for my continent. So visiting the place was interesting for me. The park is huge and you can spend quite some time with roaming around. To see everything with slow pace, I would say that 2 hours are more than enough. But you can manage to see what you are interested in in about 1 hour, as I did. Entrance tickets to this place are surprisingly cheap, so I would encourage you to visit park and support it this way.

Parque Portugal - Lagoa do Taquaral

City park
Nature & Parks
Parque Portugal, also known as Lagoa do Taquaral, is a renowned city park that features a stunning lagoon and a variety of attractions for visitors to enjoy. The park boasts beautiful trees and flowers of all kinds and is home to families of geese, ducks, and capybaras.
The best park! It was a very hot day but the park is so greeny. I walked in a shade of those big trees, met couple of capybaras enjoying their weekend. The most iconic seems to be a big Protugese style boat at the north of the park.
Borworn B — Google review
Nice park. I liked how the streets were closed off for a running event. It was a nice run around the beautiful streets and lake. Plenty of vendors for some refreshments.
Dave H — Google review
Nice park. Lots of cool local flora and lots of cappybara running around. The little food stands are also nice. We got coconut water and some ice cream and both were delicious. The panda statues at the playground are pretty creepy though...
Brandon S — Google review
If you love capybaras, you can't find a better place to go. Dozens of these friendly rodents roam around the lake. They won't let you touch them or even feed them, but they will let you pretty close. I have a video about it on my YT channel: Curves on the road
Jana C — Google review
Better with family. This is an excellent spot for running, offering wide and varied trails with spots of shade at all times of day, the path was not paved in all places and so it may be muddy in the rain. There is a big ship to explore and beautiful plants. There were paddle boats but they had a cost to try. And some play equipment for kids. Depending on your disposition, this may not be the best place to go if you have limited time. There is not much that distinguishes it from any other large park in the world and it is not well maintained. It was hot and few places to buy water so come prepared.
Benjamin S — Google review
A nice (green) park, kinda small one but still nice, well kept, kids friendly, well located, overcrowded in weekends, parking may be troublesome.
Woody A — Google review
This is a very big park, with no entrance fee! I was impressed to see capybaras chilling everywhere. There is a Planetarium, but i advise to first check out the opening hours. There's a huge ship you can get on and several food stalls with delicious snacks.
Noelia C — Google review
Definitely my favorite park in Campinas! Amazing green scenery views, river, trees, capybaras everywhere. Delicious Açaí and ice cream are the bonus. Very clean and animal friendly park. There are many street cats but they love people and people take care of them too. One of my father in law's cats is from this park and he named her "Serena".

Cute place to visit. Such a unique feel and the architecture is very different than the other parts of Brazil we saw. The windmill spins on top and we were fortunate to see it happen. Quiet place to spend a couple of hours. I believe there are shops there that open but we came at a time they were closed.

Mentioned on

Cristo Redentor de Serra Negra offers a challenging climb with approximately 8 meters of uneven stairs, making it unsuitable for those with health issues. However, the breathtaking panoramic view of the town below from the top makes it worth the effort for most visitors. The location also provides wheelchair access from the car park to Christ and features a delightful chocolate shop nearby. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful and amazing experience while taking in the spectacular views at this iconic site.
Reaching the top is not for someone who is out of shape, it could even be a health risk for those with heart health issues. There is about 8meters of stairs to climb and the stairs are not so well made as some of them are low steps and some are hi steps, this can be a problem going back down too. When you reach the top, however, you will be rewarded with a beautiful picturesque view of the town in the valley below. In my opinion it's worth the effort if your health will allow it. I really really enjoyed it and it is a memory I will savor for years to come.

Fazenda Morro Pelado is a charming retreat nestled in the midst of nature, offering cozy chalet apartments and cottages on a picturesque farm with a serene lake. The staff are incredibly hospitable, ensuring a comfortable stay and providing assistance whenever needed. Guests can savor delicious homemade meals at the buffet dining area and take advantage of the outdoor pool for relaxation.
Stayed for a couple days, the area is beautiful especially the view from atop the mountain. Every single person on staff were extremely kind and helpful. They made us very comfortable in their chalet while we stayed and enjoyed their animals and activities. The food was also quite good and gave a good selection. We couldn't do all the activities because of time but we did the big zip line, the aqua ball for the kids, the quad adventure, and horseback riding.

We did not stayed at their hotel. We just used their paid entertainment services, such as archery, horse riding, climbing, zip line and more. If you enjoy activities like this, this is the place for you.
Maurício A — Google review
We spent a day here Christmas Eve 2018, and had a great time. Five of us did a combination of horseback riding (both short and long rides), four wheeler expeditions up the mountains, zip lining on both short and long lines (the longest one goes from the top of Morro Pelado back down to the main site, about a 1.1km run), and had an awesome buffet lunch. We could have done more, but ran out of time (they closed early, at 4PM on Christmas Eve, which is only to be expected!). Next time we'll stay at their new hotel and have a couple of days to take it in. I'd recommend this without reservation to just about anyone, but especially to families with kids who are adventurous.

I have spent 3 nights at one of the family chalets. Loved the homemade food at breakfast and dinner time. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best and, we only got a chance to take photos of the infinity pool they have on the very last day. Outdoor activities were also a great call. My family and I went on an adventurous ride in a buggy (aka gaiola) to the highest point of the city where we could see both the cities of Monte Sião and Águas de Lindóia. My husband rode a horse and did airsoft gun shot practice. We had a blast doing archery and arvorismo as well. Guest tip: Get a 30% off on the activities price when staying at the hotel/chalet (valid on October 2021).
