(Translated by Google) This is one of my places in the world. Nature at its best, cared for to the maximum by the local people. The river is wonderful and there are several natural pools that are very accessible and safe. The cuisine is very good, fresh ingredients and generous portions. The energy of the place is unbeatable and the people are very calm. Silence reigns but some nights you can find good music. I absolutely recommend it for those looking for peace and nature. (Translated by Google) Definitely of my entire stay in the province, this was my favorite place. It costs a lot to get there BUT IT'S WORTH IT. From the entrance of San Marcos Sierras you begin to enter a gravel road and mountains. There are two spas/inns prior to this one. And there is a half-deceptive sign on the road that says “three pools UNCLE RICO” that's not it. You have to continue a little more until it says RESERVE THREE POOLS. They charge an entrance fee of only $7000 per person (February 25') And inside they sell very delicious and cheap food. There you swim with the fish, you see fauna and the good thing is that there are not many people. There are waterfalls, it's dreamy. It costs but I recommend it.

(Translated by Google) Dr. Illia's house is kept in perfect condition, as well as his period furniture and personal accessories (both those of his profession as a Dr, and those of his daily life). The entrance is accessible and they give you a brief tour, the guide is friendly and willing, but he lacks knowledge to be able to provide more information on many aspects, for example about Illia's management, so you have to ask him how to get a topic of conversation. and be able to delve into the historical part. Otherwise everything perfect. (Original) La casa del Dr. Illia se mantiene en perfectas condiciones, así como su mobiliario y sus accesorios personales de época ( tanto los de su profesión como Dr, como los de su vida diaria). Por lo demás todo perfecto.

(Translated by Google) The museum is Illia's house that was given to her by the residents of Cruz del Eje. He lived there with his family and also used it as a doctor's office. The best of all is that it is as it was when they left at the time of being named president. A contribution bonus of $500 must be paid per group and it must be visited with a guide. No one else enters until the tour is finished. They should correct the schedule published on Google, since it is now longer.

I had a Great Tour and a Great Time over at Bodegas Callia! I want to personally thank Gustavo Montiveros for the tour of this fairly large bodega. During my tour, we saw and witnessed the whole wine making process. Furthermore, I also want to thank Patrico and Analia Vilanova from Alta Bonanza De Los Andes for taking me there. Sincerely yours, Howard Paul Shore Visitor Executive Writer For Google And Tripadvisor Websites /HPS
HOWARD S — Google review
We called an hour before we got there to be sure, that we could do a tour. Arriving there, we were not even allowed to enter the area of the Bodega. The excuse was more than lame: the guide became sick some minutes ago. Seems that they were just not in the mood to finish their siesta. A pity, as the effort to get there (>30km away from San Juan) takes time and money.

Celda Historica del Convento Santo Domingo

Nestled within the Santo Domingo Convent lies the Celda Historica del Convento Santo Domingo, a significant site in Argentine history. This chamber was once occupied by General San Martin in 1815 as he prepared for his pivotal campaign to liberate Chile and Upper Peru. Visitors are treated to an engaging experience, guided through a collection of historical artifacts including a replica of San Martin's saber, charcoal portraits of national heroes, and important documents like San Martin's legacy upon his passing.

(Translated by Google) They saw that May 25 is the Cabildo and that July 9 is the Historical House of Tucumán, well the Cell of San Martin in the Convent of Santo Domingo in San Juan is one of the buildings that explain the events between both dates. Very important building in our history, the oldest in San Juan still standing that should be at the level of conservation of the Cabildo and the House of Tucumán. It is worth highlighting the enthusiasm and detailed account of the facts, events and anecdotes provided by Professor Carlos Basualdo, far from the best I have seen in personnel in charge of museums. Review history before you go and enjoy the exciting stories that the teacher tells. It's free, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., but as other comments say, the teacher is always willing to help after hours. It's as the name said, the first days of Sarmiento. It can be a good chance to take this time machine to do an sneak peek to those days. Can be better or maybe a little longer, but isn't.

Great place if you're into museums and history. It is the birth house of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, one of the best historical figures of Argentina. it has both audioguide and regular tour guide. A MUST VISIT if you're doing tourism. Plus, the tourism information of the entire state is just in front of it, so you can do two thing in one. There are also statues you can take photos(free) with of both Sarmiento, and some dinosaurs(the dinosaurs are across the street, not on Sarmiento's house)

Nestled amidst stunning vineyards, Marale Wines offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Guests can unwind in spacious and comfortable rooms that provide a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals, making it convenient for those who prefer not to venture far for dinner. While the complex is beautiful, some areas could benefit from a bit more care and maintenance. Excitingly, they are currently constructing a pool that promises to enhance the experience even further once completed.

Avoid at all costs. Nice rooms but this is not a hotel! Breakfast = toast. Terrible. Dinner was cold. Service was awful. Staff ignored us, gave awful advice for things to do. Fabril Alto Verde S.A. Is A Very Nice Bodega Located Just Outside Of San Juan, Capital City... We went there back on Monday, January 16, 2017 and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to visit. During our visit, we received a very nice tour showing us the fermentation area, where they keep the wine, where they pack the wine and get it ready to ship or sell, followed by a film and a wine tasting. The tour was given to us by Carla who is one of their experienced guides and I personally want to thank her for the time that she took to give us a Fantastic, Detail Oriented Tour. One thing about their Bodega which is different from many others is the Fact that they give you Crackers in between your wine tastings to separate the various flavors that you will be trying... In Addition: I want to also personally thank Ina Nielsen and Federico Nielsen from Nielsen Expediciones for taking me there and back. This Bodega Is Definitely Well Worth The Visit! Sincerely yours, Howard Paul Shore Participant Executive Writer For Google And Tripadvisor Websites /HPS

Villavicencio Natural Reserve

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Mountainous area known for its mineral water, diverse flora & mammals like gray foxes & wildcats.
A poetic trip from Aconaqua mountain range to Mendoze. Hypnotic landscape, vastness, desert feeling, great stop and lunch at Villavicencio
Kadi T — Google review
The place is beautiful. It’s definetelly one greener part of the Cordilleras in Mendoza. On the way there you cross some “villas” one part of the great Mendoza where you see more poverty and trash. It was a surprise to get there and see the mountains so narrowed and green, the first part of the way they look little away. You may prepare yourself and bring your snacks, the “restaurant” there is very basic, you may also want to arrive early to participate in the activities. You pay a ticket to have access to the hotel which is like 3 usd, but the activities prices varys up to 20usd .
Thaiara S — Google review
I think the ticket prices are very high, there is a beautiful view of the mountains, but there is nothing surprising or unusual here. Further on the free road you can see more beautiful and better landscapes
Максим М — Google review
Nice place to visit, I think its a good option for families with children and for retired who enjoy a relaxing walk and a short guided tour around the hotel which is closed and abandoned. In my opinion the 350 pesos fee is quite expensive for what you receive.

We enjoyed to visit the Reserve! Tickets are good but it could be better if you receive a water bottle with them. A beautiful place, definitely you have to listen the talk with the guide, I learnt a lot about Villavicencio.

The Museo del Área Fundacional is a historical gem nestled in Mendoza's old town, offering a captivating journey through the city's foundation. Visitors can explore archaeological remains, colonial artifacts, and immersive exhibits that showcase Mendoza's rich heritage. This small museum provides insights into the early days of Mendoza and recounts the story of its reconstruction after an earthquake in the late 1800s.
Besides wineyards, this historical museum deserves to be visited.

This was the place of the original City hall, then a slaughter house, a market and now finally a museum. You can see the old foundation for the original building. It has some pre-colombian artifacts. (Translated by Google) It's worth it. The road is gravel, but very good. Some places are a bit daunting due to the many curves and ravines. But the views and nature make up for it. There are birds, guanacos, and foxes. I went in late August, and in some places there was snow and guanacos drinking water from the meltwater. You climb up, and right at the top is the Cruz de Paramillos. I highly recommend it; it's beautiful to head towards Uspallata on this road. (Original) Vale a pena. Estrada de cascalho, mas muito boa. Monument to the Army of the Andes

Monument
Sights & Landmarks
The impressive Army of the Andes Monument is a must-see in Mendoza. It's well worth the visit for its impressive scale and variety of statues and memorials. However, there are no signs explaining the different parts of the monument, so be prepared to do a little bit of research before you go.
A most impressive statue that commemorates the army of the Andes. The monument stands tall upon Cerro de la Gloria with great details and a visualized story. The monument is adorned with different statues that are all impressive by themselves, arrange them together and it looks imposing and majestic against the clear blue skies of Mendoza. The views and nature surrounding the Cerro are amazing. You feel at peace here and the people are very relaxed. It's a nice walk or if you love to run, this is a good challenge! The hike up can be difficult so I recommend grabbing a taxi or an uber. Bring some water with you because the heat is killing. There is a restaurant with reasonable prices so you can indulge in some food or drinks.

You cash take the bus to the trailhead. It's a nice short hike uphill. Lots of breaks built into the hike. Beautiful scenery
David R — Google review
This is the worst statue and worst tourist attraction on Earth. It destroyed a one year relationship. It is *NOT* walkable from within the park, tourism industry lies. You need to take a cab, bus, or walk around the entire park to get to it unless you've pointlessly rented a car to otherwise explore a very walkable city. Wasted 4 hours because the map is a lie and caused a massive fight.

Wonderful place. Need an entire day to visit. The most shocking and beautiful part is the view of the Embalse Valle Grande from the top along the road to the canyon. The best view is in the first half of the day.

Nice for river rafting or just sitting around but that’s about it. No hiking trails we could find.

Very beautiful canyon in Mendoza province. It’s cool to drive on a car inside canyon and after that enjoy in the lake where you can rent SUP and kayak!

From San Rafael, the canyon is about 1 hour drive away and can be visited without booking a tour. The best option is to have a car to drive in the canyon. The road is not paved but is passable cautiously. The best is to plan the day there with a picnic like many local people and to stop wherever you want. The canyon offers various incredible spot.

From San Raphael bus terminal take the public bus (250 pesos) to the last stop which requires you only to walk to canon Atel for 30min (mirador). I suggest to take the 7h20 am bus for great photos (see photos as lake acts like a nice mirror). At 12pm lots of people rafting and will create wave ripples (not as nice). route 1: Canon Atel mirador route 2: walk back to last stop and take the other road (bridge) route 3: walk back the same way from the bus route to view other touristic views and activities (the bus to return to san Raphael will be cheaper as you will walk 30min to an hr back). 150aprox see other comments i have for nearby areas.

Pre-wedding journey to see great mountain of Aconcagua and Wine houses in Mendoza. A picnic in Canyon. When traveling with a car San Rafael and this Canyon is in between Mendoza and Buenos Aires. A stopover.
