(Translated by Google) The service left something to be desired. I went to the store a few weeks ago with my nephew, ready to buy a Lakers tank top and something else he liked. I knew that if it was original it would cost around 500 reais or more. The problem is that when we got to the store, we were looked at from head to toe, and with a mocking air the attendant took me for a walk. Little did he know that he had enough money to take half the store if he wanted. The great evil of a salesperson is to continue to judge the customer by their clothes at the time, when the people who can afford them the most are those who dress in a simpler and more restrained way. Someone needs to give the attendants some guidance if they don't want to miss their goal for this summer, if they even have a goal. I'll probably be going back to the store next month and I want to do the tiebreaker to see if it was just my bad luck, or if the store treats its customers like this all the time.

(Translated by Google) A very nice place to visit for those who enjoy nature. The water in the waterfall and the river was wonderful on the day I visited. The trail to the waterfall is easy to access. There was a place to park. I paid R$15.00 to enter. There are rules that apply to the trail to the waterfall, such as: You cannot bring backpacks, bags, drinks, food, etc. However, you are allowed to bring water and a towel, as long as you carry them in your hands, so that they can be seen. There are lockers with keys to leave personal items. I didn't use them, because I left them in the car and the place is very safe. Bring insect repellent and a hat or cap. In the parking lot, which is shaded by the trees, you can have a snack and dip your feet in the river and on the inverted bridge, which is very nice. There is a bathroom. Again, snacking is only allowed in the parking lot. It is not allowed on the trail to the waterfall. I liked how organized the place is, because everything is clean along the entire route. There are many butterflies, birds, lots of greenery, and the water is crystal clear and very cold. The day was excellent, it hadn't rained, so the path was dry. I loved the experience, and I will definitely be back.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful waterfall! Great for swimming. Easy access trail, less than 10 minutes on foot. To get to the trail, it is about 40 minutes on a dirt road coming from Maquiné. When you get to the place, there is a clearing where some people are welcoming visitors. We went in January 2025 and the fee they charge for visiting was 15 reais per person. It is important to note that according to the rules of the place, it is not allowed to enter with backpacks, bags, food, drinks, etc. Everything we brought, such as towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc., we had to carry by hand. You can bring a mateira with chimarrão. We went to the Forqueta waterfall on the same day, which is about 20 minutes away by car, and it was possible to do both on the same day easily. Based on our experience, we recommend the tour. (Original) Linda cascata! (Translated by Google) A place designed by God. Because it's a reserve, it doesn't have a large structure. But there's plenty of parking, and there are restrooms (very clean). There's a 15-real adult fee; my 9-year-old children paid half price. From the parking lot to the waterfall, it's a 5-minute walk along a beautiful trail, filled with birdsong and butterflies. The waterfall is beautiful with a loose rock bottom, getting deeper as you go in. There's a great swimming hole (you have to know how to swim, as it's very deep). About the way: After the asphalt section, there's still about 20 km of dirt road. The day we went, there were plenty of potholes, but nothing that would hinder the adventure. Here's a tip for an unforgettable trip!

Acqua Lokos, a serene establishment boasting cozy log cabins and offering an array of amenities such as a water park, petting zoo, restaurant, and bar. The water park itself provides thrilling rides that are pleasurable for visitors, along with delectable food options at reasonable prices. However, it is advisable to avoid weekends due to potential long queues. This remarkable destination presents diverse opportunities for amusement and dining experiences.
Incredible place. First, it's huge and there's so much to do. Took our 3 year old and there were a surprising amount of activities for someone her age. There are lots of pools and splashpads, various water slides for all ages and aventurine levels, a lazy river, a wave pool, pedal boats on the lake, a train ride to a farm with animals, roller coasters (even for toddlers), a ferris wheel, multiple play areas/ playgrounds. You could easily spend a couple of days here enjoying the park. There are also bathrooms everywhere which is so nice with a little kid. Tons of food choices and lots of chairs/ umbrellas for shade. They also have a giant indoor water area if you want to go in the winter or even just get out of the sun a bit. Overall amazing experience and if I lived closer I'd be getting the annual pass.

Aparados da Serra National Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Aparados da Serra National Park is a stunning natural reserve located in Cambara do Sul, with headquarters for both Aparados da Serra and Serra Geral National Parks. The park boasts breathtaking canyons like Itaimbezinho, Fortaleza, Churriado, and Malacara.
Very beautiful views even with fog. The best part was the little house that sells homemade pastel!
Sopaipilla — Google review
This park is for the rich, not for normal people, to whom it should be accessible! The greed is disgusting. With all the taxes wasted in Brazil, there was not money left to make national heritage accesible to the general public? Whoever is responsible for this absurd entrance fee and commercial industrialization of national heritage should be ashamed, and the state lawmakers should do something. In Rio de Janerio, National Parques are for free. Poor or rich, anyone can enter for free. In Rio Grande do Sul, all parks are difficult to enter (registration processes for national forests are stupidly beaurocratic, and extreme fees for national parks). Its beyond absurd, especially considering how much nature has been destroyed. Never seen anything like in Rio Grande do Sul before. Not in Brazil and not in any other country. Basically no forest or park where people can just go for free without paying fees or registrating 3 days in advance through beaurocratic application forms, having to wait for approval. Absurd and unjust. Its a disgrace!
Linnart M — Google review

Itaimbezinho is the most visited canyon in the region, located in the Aparados da Serra National Park, just 18 km from Cambara do Sul. Accessible via a stone dirt road, it offers lush trails with sweeping views of the gorge and surrounding park. The 3.5km walk to see the canyon exit is highly recommended for its impressive landscape, making it a great destination for families.
The canyons park is good. The 3.5km walk to see the canyon exit is very good, and the landscape is very impressive. Good to go with your family. Remember to get a jacket before to go: the weather changes quickly.

The most beautiful part of this place is the nature. Therefore there's no have safe structure for your children or pets. There's no signals or posts of directions on the road. The road that we used was very straight. But, I have a good point to explain: the view is exciting! And there's a lot of plant types. You'll take a lot of photos on end of the day, when the sun is running away.

Conheça os Canyons

Hiking area
Nature & Parks
If you're seeking an unforgettable adventure, "Conheça os Canyons" offers a stunning hiking trail that is both picturesque and challenging. This unique journey takes you along a river, where you'll encounter multiple waterfalls and natural pools, making it a refreshing experience. Unlike typical hikes that lead to lakes or scenic viewpoints, this trail immerses you in the heart of nature as you navigate through towering canyon walls.
This felt like a quite different, challenging and one of the most rewarding hiking experience for me. Normally when I hike, I end up in a lake, or a waterfall, or a hill with a good sight (which certainly is cool on its own). This hike is different. It goes through the river, surrounded by the great canyons walls, it has not one but a few pools and waterfalls through the way - very beautiful - and you need to actually cross the river around 20 times through the track. We went in the winter so unfortunately it was a bit cold for us to enter the pools and waterfalls (even without entering them it was a 6-7 hours hike), so to take best advantage of the hike, go in the summer. The above said, this was also a fairly challenging hike. The path is not a easy one as you will be mostly moving through rocks alongside the river. You need to be in reasonable shape to do it as it will be a quite long hike, and be careful with your steps on the rocks. Lastly, in this hike it is mandatory that you to go with a registered guide so make sure you hire one before you go on it.
Julio C — Google review
Absolutely amazing! The beginning of the trail is a bit tricky, but the trekking along the river and all the times you have to cross it from one side to another, are really good as a trekking experience. And the final view, the portal, breath taking.

(Translated by Google) Incredible place with lush landscapes. I went during the rainy season and this affected visibility a bit, but it still showed how beautiful the place is. I will definitely be back. I understand the need for local guides to go to Rio do Boi, but they could make entry easier for those who already have experience with trails. Unfortunately, depending on the local guide inhibited us from continuing the trail simply because of ego. We were late for the start of the trail and they wanted to leave and not be late for the return trip. This doesn't make sense considering the cost of hiring a guide and also the technical effort, which is very low.
Accel G — Google review
(Translated by Google) Everyone knows the trail offers spectacular views. I did it with guide Tere (@ducanyon), and she was incredible. It's mandatory to go with a guide, so look for one who knows how to respect your time. The trail is long, 14km in total, with about 4km (more or less) in dense forest and 3km along the river. The worst part is the hike on the rocks around the river. There are 20 river crossings in total, and I found it easier than I expected. We went in October, and the river level was low, which made it easier. Once you get your feet wet the first time, you get used to the wet, and it doesn't bother you as much. Some shin guards hurt, but some people recommend wearing long socks to help, as shin guards are mandatory to avoid injuries from rocks and animal bites (we didn't encounter any snakes along the way, thank goodness!!! But you can find them). At the time we visited (October 2020), the maximum group size allowed was 5 people per guide due to the pandemic, and a maximum of 55 people per day to enter the park, so book in advance! It's possible to reach Praia Grande via the mountains from Cambará do Sul, but it's a 36km dirt road and there's a chance of A LOT of fog (check the weather forecast), making the route dangerous at certain times and with low visibility. You can also get there via the "Rota do Sol" (Sun Route), which is much more peaceful but much longer. In short: plan ahead and enjoy the trail—it's SO worth it.

Nestled within the Parque Nacional da Serra Geral, Canion Malacara offers a refreshing escape with its crystalline natural pools. Located just 5 km from Praia Grande in Santa Catarina, this hidden gem is less frequented than other canyons in the area, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a unique experience. The 3.
If you have experience with simple trails you dont need to go with a guide. BUT. you need a good gps. I used the garmin 66sr NOT a phone gps. There is no signal. Its hard to find the trail sometimes, especially when crossing the river. Snake protection is recommended and dont touch anything. Go long sleeved, and with long pants, vegetation is dense. Families or non biologists, I strongly recommend a guide. especially if there is rain its dangerous quickly so you need to be able to ‚read‘ the sky and weatherforcast. (Translated by Google) The experience is well worth it. The view is truly incredible. The route to the canyon itself offers diverse landscapes, waterfalls, and rock slabs. But the view from the rim is truly beautiful, truly the highlight of the trip. The staff at the Montenegro farm and guesthouse were very attentive and provided us with a wealth of information. We accessed the site from Bom Jardim da Serra, a short stretch of asphalt and then a long stretch of very poor dirt road. Most of the way, we traveled in second gear, occasionally third or first, but in a few stretches. Upon crossing the border into Rio Grande do Sul, the road improves slightly, but only really improves upon reaching the farm property. We returned through the Silveira district to São Joaquim, and the road conditions didn't improve. We drove a small car; with patience, it's possible to get very close to the rim. Only a 500-meter walk is required. But the ideal route would be in a high-riding car or pickup truck, which is more peaceful and safe.

(Translated by Google) Anyone who visits the beautiful city of Nova Veneza in Santa Catarina and passes through Humberto Bortolotto square cannot help but notice a beautiful gondola, which is a typical boat from the city of Venice in Italy and is used to transport people through the canals of Venice. The boat was donated by the province of Venice itself and symbolizes the link that the municipality has with the country of origin of the city's first colonizers. The boat has an elongated wooden structure, painted black with an asymmetrical shape to allow propulsion and maneuvers with the use of a single oar, installed at the stern and supported by a wooden fitting. It has a flat bottom, sharp, elevated ends that project forward. It is 11 meters long and weighs approximately 650 kilos. The interesting thing is that besides this unit in Nova Veneza, there are only three other legitimate gondolas outside of Italy, in the United States, Canada and Switzerland. The vessel is sheltered in a small artificial lake open to the public and although it is not used for tours, tourists and visitors can board the gondola, sit down and take beautiful photos, and during every day, including weekends, employees dressed in a characteristic way, serve visitors who arrive at the site.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, with a great collection by this painter from Santa Catarina. They hold several exhibitions of other artists as well. They have great employees, who know and explain the works. Very worth the visit! (Translated by Google) The museum is worth visiting, the works are very beautiful and represent a lot of the history of Santa Catarina and entry is free. The only sad part is that the top floor was not open for visitors, making it impossible to see all the works.

(Translated by Google) It was interesting to discover the works of this painter from Tubarão. The vast majority, oil on canvas, prioritize the portrayal of cultural and historical aspects of the region. The museum, however, needs a little more investment in its physical structure which, even though it has been improved in recent years, still has a lot to do. (Translated by Google) I liked it better when it was a little square. The museum is right in the center of the city and has nothing interesting, its structure is horrible, it's abandoned inside, it has a library so small and outdated that it's almost a shame. There's almost never anything new. Not to mention the attendants who are always chatting and don't pay attention to you. Around the museum the landscaping is also quite ugly. Regrettable.

(Translated by Google) A rich collection of Zumblick's works. However, the building is poorly maintained and has a large unused area. The paintings are not protected (anyone who wants to damage them can do so). And the idea of copying the Guggenheim in the middle of a square was unfortunate.

Spacious mall offering various retail shops & services, a food court & a movie theater.
Nice place to spend time with friends and family whether eating or shopping or watching movies. Good location, plenty of parking in the surrounding area. Friendly environment.

Nice place to be on a hot day. Opens at 10.00 am. All the big Brazilian stores there. A very varied food patio and many coffee shops. Good variety of other shops like bookshops, beds etc. An outlet for MoneyGram is very useful and the bathrooms are great. A bit more expensive then ordinary shops maybe but the a/c and comfort balances out. Parking in store or paying nearby. Definitely worth a visit when in Tubarao.

Hiking area
Farol de Santa Marta is a picturesque whitewashed lighthouse located amidst beaches and sand dunes, offering stunning views and photo opportunities from its summit. The well-maintained antique structure, once powered by whale oil, stands out with its bright white paint. Accessible via a relatively easy trail that meanders through blooming flowers and fluttering butterflies in the summer, this location also attracts birdwatchers due to the diverse bird species flying around the area.
Very nice place to visit, you have to hike a little to get tp the top but overall the view is amazing 👏.
Alexander A — Google review
Spectacular view from the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits. You have to park your car on the street and walk up a trail to the top of the hill , but it’s and extremely easy walk without too much inclination. It was summer when we went, so flowers were blooming and butterflies where hovering all around. This is a fascinating location for birdwatchers given the variety of birds flying around the trail. Once at the top of the hill and facing north, there’s is a stunning view of an old cemetery overlooking the ocean and a sand dune covered beach. Facing west, you are directly about the beach and town of Santa Marta. And East, is obviously an open view of the ocean crashing upon rocks. The lighthouse was closed, but even so, the view is worth the short hike up.

Great place for a city escape. Signal reception is not good, non existent in some places. The village is really small, with not much to do, specially at night. There are great beaches to visit, some accessed through short trails.
Paula R — Google review
The village didn't change much in the last 10 years, which - for me - is positive. I love the atmosphere. The lighthouse is somewhat nostalgic. If you're lucky, the Cardoso beach will surprise you with nice waves and crystal clear water.

An antique lighthouse that long ago functioned with whale oil. Beautiful and well-maintained, with bright white paint. The reason I only gave 4 stars was due to faulty directions, Google deposited us next to a cemetery. A couple of locals told us we could get to the lighthouse from there, and we found a section of fence missing and a small footpath twisting among cactus and tall grasses and weeds. Once we arrived at the lighthouse we pivoted and saw a sign behind us warning that venomous snakes were in that area. The area we had just crossed. Now we had a snake-infested field between us and 12-yr-old and our car. We couldn't shout a warning to our kid because of the wind and waves, but fortunately he didn't try to follow us. Anyway, I'm going to try to suggest a different route, but if you end up next to a cemetery, don't walk through the plants to get to the lighthouse!

If you find yourself in Laguna, a visit to Mirante Morro da Glória is an absolute must. This stunning viewpoint features a remarkable 170-meter tall statue that stands proudly atop a 4-meter base, offering breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding area. As you take in the views, you'll be treated to sights of Laguna's Bay and the bustling city below, including various apartments and buildings as well as the ferry navigating through the waters.
This is THE view to check out if you’re in laguna. The statue is a sight to see and there is a nice nature trail next to the statue. Just be warned that there is a large amount of antennas there, which may affect people with sensitivity or heart pacemakers.

Such a nice beach! Great waves for surfing and a perfect place for relaxing and just having a good time. Nice and clean beach with a beautiful mountain backdrop. Also plenty of food and drinks available so you can stay on the beach the entire day without having to lift a finger. Overall Praia do Rosa had a very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Enjoyed my stay very much.

Surf prohibited May-July. Santa Caterina has a law that due to fishing you cannot surf on many beaches during this period. Rosa Norte allows surfing but it's busy. Very quite beach and village except in season, but a very nice, friendly place.
