Opened in 2002, it is the largest museum in Latin America and features 12 rooms showcasing contemporary art, design, and architecture. The building itself resembles a giant eye and is perched on a massive yellow pillar, creating an awe-inspiring sight for visitors.
Amazing museum dedicated to one of the most famous architects you will ever come across in Brazil. The museum is very well done and has sufficient reading material as well as displays. Some of the art is interactive and some of it is historical artifacts. There is a lot of modern art and some art from people from Curitiba. The parts of the museum that showcase Niemeyer’s accomplishments are particularly cool, especially if you’ve traveled around and seen some of his works.
Miguel S — Google review
It’s a nice museum and a real Curitiba’s postcard, however the exhibition wasn’t good, I was expecting more for the most famous museum in town. I’m glad I didn’t pay. Usually on Wednesday the entry is free 10am-6pm
Babi L — Google review
Amazing building. African and Asian exhibitions were well curated and very engaging. Loved that museum goers were invited to create their own art out of materials similar to those used in the exhibition. Museum store needs some work.
Beth M — Google review
I expected more from the museum. The sculptures are ok, the space is very pretty and overall it's ok. The only thing I didn't like was the internal security team. Some of them are a bit rude when dealing with customers. Attention.
Fernando R — Google review
So beautiful and modern! It's worth it!
Lilian M — Google review
This famous museum is on every city tour. The architecture of the museum building is impressive, especially the adjacent building known as The Eye, which is quite stunning. There are wide open picnic spaces and grounds for walking and hanging out with friends. There are admission fees to enter the buildings to see the exhibits.

Clean, organized, well air-conditioned. Stunning view! Could be better: the „Free WiFi“ needs a registration which is only in Portuguese to get the English texts inside of the museum.

Visitors can delight in the tranquil ambiance while exploring the grounds that also house a charming cafe and a chocolate shop. Families will find this farm an enjoyable destination, with plenty of opportunities for children to observe and interact with numerous birds roaming about. The addition of a lovely waterfall enhances the scenic beauty of the surroundings.
We can see a lot of animals here. Kids surely enjoy. It was amazing for my family was we could enter here for free. We recommend to buy their chocolate as souvenirs.
Papipupenta — Google review
We came on a week day so few visitors and less was open. But we got to see the animals and they opened the chocolate store when we came. Had a very interesting tasting and ended up buying some of their very tasty chocolate. We had a little girl with us and she had a great time - especially to clap the goats and see the peacock in all its glory.
Jens O — Google review
This farm was very fun for my family. There were lots of free roaming birds and the little waterfall was beautiful. However, there was no chocolate in sight.
Tim G — Google review
A great and beautiful place to stay a day with your family, good food, good groceries, good coffee. The farm have lot of activities to do in group. Amazing, i love take my bike and go there just to get a cup of coffee and go back home.
Alex S — Google review
Cool place, vwry nice and enjoyable, but no reception if you need to call an Uber back. Nobody speaks English.
Michael V — Google review
Beautiful area. The peacocks 🦚 and other animals are a joy. Great freedom to explore at your own pace. There is a part for native culture but the performance was cancelled because there weren't enough people. There was 10 plus of us there and no one came to explain it was cancelled which I felt was disappointing. There is a chocolate factory that has good products, although I've been to better chocolate factories in Ireland and Italy. Its a great visit for 3 hours but I think they have so much capacity to grow if they added some more activities, particularly with the native culture. It feels a little tacked on. Definitely would visit again and I'd encourage others. ITU the nearby city is also the best city I've visited in Sao Paulo for tourism, so far.
Tommy L — Google review
Sooooo cute! All the animals are friendly emough to eat off the hands of little kids to include the beautiful peacocks and adorable goats. The kids love this place, very interactive and fun for the whole family.

Located in the coastal city of Santos, Brazil, the Aquário Municipal de Santos is a popular attraction for marine enthusiasts. The aquarium boasts an extensive collection of freshwater and marine species, including penguins and a touch tank. One of its main highlights is the Amazon Basin exhibit featuring unique fish native to the Amazon River. Despite its small size, the aquarium is packed with diverse marine life, from playful seals to mysterious sharks.
Small aquarium, but nice. Most of animals are from Brazil. Here you can see a small magellanic penguin.
Plamen M — Google review
The price ticket is very cheap and the attractions inside are cool. The place is nice and you can see many different species there but this aquarium is small, so you’ll finish your tour in probably 30 minutes.
Jaime L — Google review
Very nice location with good views, although we were there in winter (August) and fairly quiet, I imagine it gets a lot busier in peak/Summer time.
Simon R — Google review
Small, lots of empty tanks, but it seems like they are trying to improve it. I’d recommend it for a quick visit, don’t expect too much though.
Miriam D — Google review
This is a nice simple place to visit, especially on a rainy day when the beach isn't so nice. It's a small aquarium with a nice collection of fish and similar creatures. The one depressing tank was with the sea turtle. It was just a tank and water, no earth features or other stuff. I'm hoping that it is a work in progress.
Todd H — Google review
cheapest aquarium admission I ever had, relatively. it's good to spend the day. the penguins still clinically depressed. try as they may, AC is no substitution for arctic weather. also make sure to get combo ticket and visit the zoologia garden on other side of town. walk or take a Uber there

Good place for visiting with children. Not as big as worlds famous aquariums, but interesting. A lot of different fishes and reptiles. Penguins look tired because of brazilian hot weather.

Named after the God of joy and the Goddess of adventure, this park boasts five distinct themed areas: Kaminda Mundi, The Wild West, Infantasia, Mistieri, and Aribabiba. Each zone offers a unique blend of thrilling rides and family-friendly attractions.
Is better to buy in advance but also get the VIP ticket online. Really amazing place for vacation
Zahira T — Google review
It was really good. I visited on a weekend Saturday, and the lines for some rides were crazy long . After 5 hours, I had completed 4 rides and a snack. Wait-time for some attractions were almost 45 mins. The fastest was 10 mins. The vip pass should be incorporated into a ticket, but to pay R$200 in addition to $170 for entry was too crazy especially when buying 4 tickets. If you only have cash their is a location after the Egyptian site that issues a rechargeable card.
Carlos M — Google review
Amazing place more suitable for older kids maybe 8 to 9 years cause the interesting games are for older kids. But it is an amazing structure full of games you would need a whole day for this. The restaurants are not very practical for kids and not super clean. But overall amazing place.
Yasmeen F — Google review
It's a good place, the biggest problem is there's no free water to drink, covid is over already but you can't find water, only way it's to buy a water bottle. The hamburger is really bad but at least is cheap, the buildings is in need of repairs. Now on the good side, a lot of attractions, a big team to help you, organized line and almost all works are smiling.
Matheus M — Google review
Hopi Hari is a nice theme park to spend a day. I highly recommend purchasing the VIP pass because the line wait times prevented us from riding all the rides; the VIP pass is quite expensive though. The rides we rode were fun and the evening show was amazing! The food quality was average but I enjoyed the bacon and cheddar fries.
Lindsay C — Google review
Great place! The day I visited (Feb 9th 2019) the park was very clean and with just a few people inside, I would say 2500 people. The lines were incredibly fast. The restaurants had slow service. The park is recovering from a strong crisis. It has been refurbished and everything is shining new, but the low number of visitors is still a sign that it still have a long way to go. But I loved it! 10!
Vinicius G — Google review
A great place to spend a day with or without children. There are lots of different and varied facilities. It is not possible to pay on the spot in cash just to recharge a card or credit card. The icing on the cake was that anyone who has a birthday gets another card as a gift 🤩
Yifat A — Google review
Great park with very interesting concept: the place is its own country, and fun is the main rule. Unfortunately, they've always had financial issues, which currently leads to ever-in-maintenance attractions and the feeling that all of its potential is going to waste. Some of the coolest attractions were closed on February-21, when we visited the park. Employees are polite and gentle, but nothing compares to the reception at the entrance: clowns and other artists sing, dance and welcome the public, with contagious joy and excitement. They also seem concerned about COVID and wearing a mask is required at 100% of times, besides every attraction is cleaned with alcohol after a guest leaves. Attractions are not as radical as they seem, but roller coasters are definitely worth the experience. The wooden one is not only impressive, but it also crosses the road near the park, and is an unique experience. To avoid the kilometric lines, it's recommended to acquire a VIP pass. However, it costs BRL 120 or more (depending on the day), twice the entrance ticket value. This is expensive for Brazilian standards, but unfortunately it's the only way to have fun and enjoy your day at the park without wasting hours waiting in line. Food is overall too expensive and not tasty, so it's also recommended to take some snacks and try not to eat much. Taking water and sunscreen is also the most important thing and this is located on the countryside, and sun seems to hit differently when compared to São Paulo. To save money, take an Uber from Jundiaí train station. Overall, park fans can get a great experience for an expensive price. I wouldn't recommend it for people who are not willing to spend money, people who are not already willing to give it a chance, or very tall or large people (attractions seem designed for smaller and skinnier people. Most are not fit for people above 120kg, so a bigger person wouldn't fit a roller coaster seat, for example)

Praia da Enseada

Mentioned on

Praia da Enseada is a large urban beach with a promenade, cycle lane, and palm trees. It offers something for everyone, from the worldly and urban vibe of Praia da Enseada to smaller beaches like Praia das Asturias and Praia do Tombo. For those seeking originality, there's Praia do Pereque, while privacy can be found at secluded coves like Praia Branca.
What more can you say!

Enseada Beach - a huge bay beach, fully illuminated. Main in Guaruja so it is very crouded. Walking along the beach, we saw a terrible view of rubbish. The beaches here are supposed to be cleaned by cleaning crews, BUT after staying on the beach, people leave rubbish in the place where they were sunbathing. It is not so bad when they are closed in a bag, however most often they are loose. The evening rest on the beach after sunset (around 6:30 pm), in some dry sand, begins with looking for a place free from the sight of rubbish. The ocean's view is beautyfull though

For Brasilians, nothing special I guess, with this beach as they have so many mindblowing beaches. For me, first time visitor in Brasil - pure heaven❣️Of the many kiosks to pick, take 41, wonderful people, service and food❣️

Parque Portugal - Lagoa do Taquaral

City park
Nature & Parks
Parque Portugal, also known as Lagoa do Taquaral, is a renowned city park that features a stunning lagoon and a variety of attractions for visitors to enjoy. The park boasts beautiful trees and flowers of all kinds and is home to families of geese, ducks, and capybaras.
The best park! It was a very hot day but the park is so greeny. I walked in a shade of those big trees, met couple of capybaras enjoying their weekend. The most iconic seems to be a big Protugese style boat at the north of the park.
Borworn B — Google review
Nice park. I liked how the streets were closed off for a running event. It was a nice run around the beautiful streets and lake. Plenty of vendors for some refreshments.
Dave H — Google review
Nice park. Lots of cool local flora and lots of cappybara running around. The little food stands are also nice. We got coconut water and some ice cream and both were delicious. The panda statues at the playground are pretty creepy though...
Brandon S — Google review
If you love capybaras, you can't find a better place to go. Dozens of these friendly rodents roam around the lake. They won't let you touch them or even feed them, but they will let you pretty close. I have a video about it on my YT channel: Curves on the road
Jana C — Google review
Better with family. This is an excellent spot for running, offering wide and varied trails with spots of shade at all times of day, the path was not paved in all places and so it may be muddy in the rain. There is a big ship to explore and beautiful plants. There were paddle boats but they had a cost to try. And some play equipment for kids. Depending on your disposition, this may not be the best place to go if you have limited time. There is not much that distinguishes it from any other large park in the world and it is not well maintained. It was hot and few places to buy water so come prepared.
Benjamin S — Google review
A nice (green) park, kinda small one but still nice, well kept, kids friendly, well located, overcrowded in weekends, parking may be troublesome.
Woody A — Google review
This is a very big park, with no entrance fee! I was impressed to see capybaras chilling everywhere. There is a Planetarium, but i advise to first check out the opening hours. There's a huge ship you can get on and several food stalls with delicious snacks.
Noelia C — Google review
Definitely my favorite park in Campinas! Amazing green scenery views, river, trees, capybaras everywhere. Delicious Açaí and ice cream are the bonus. Very clean and animal friendly park. There are many street cats but they love people and people take care of them too. One of my father in law's cats is from this park and he named her "Serena".

Amazing place to go with your family specially if you have kids, they will love it. The trails is quit long for small child's and they don't have accessibility, or if you go with a small kids you will have to carry them during some stages of the trail, but apart of it is an excellent place to visit. I recommend to arrive after lunch in hot days, you will need around 3 hours to do the course. It has a restaurant and cafeteria to eat.

Trilha da Pedra Redonda is a relatively easy hiking trail that starts at the end of Av. das Montanhas or can be reached from the Plato trail. It takes about an hour to complete and offers a tranquil experience through lush greenery. The trail leads to a 1990m rounded peak, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, bring water, and apply sunscreen due to windy conditions on the rocks and intense sun exposure.

(Translated by Google) Great trail, relatively easy and very rewarding. Note that you need to purchase your ticket online, and there are fixed entry times. (Original) Ótima trilha, relativamente fácil e muito proveitosa. A vista no final é muito boa, e tivemos sorte de ir num dia onde o lado mineiro estava com céu limpo, e o lado paulista com muita névoa, simplesmente incrível. (Translated by Google) Without a doubt, the best trail in Monte Verde. The area is very well maintained by private initiative, with excellent upkeep, clear signage, security, and guidance before the start of the trail, making the entrance fee worthwhile. It's the most suitable option for families, especially older people and children, as the route is easy and accessible. The Platô trail, while very beautiful, is much steeper, more rugged, and longer, requiring physical preparation and extra attention. I recommend both, but each is suited to a different type of visitor and fitness level.

Such a beautiful place with kind-hearted staff! I’m not a local and didn’t know that they only accept cash and Pix, and since my card was international they couldn’t accept it. The girl selling tickets let me in for free and covered my parking as well. Such a simple yet kind act, it was genuinely the highlight of my day! The plants and gardens were beautiful, and I felt very peaceful afterwards. I would recommend this place to everyone!

This park was absolutely beautiful and worth the 40 Reis entrance fee. The gardens were all well-maintained. The views of the surrounding valleys were spectacular. It's an easy stroll through the park, and there's even a maze to navigate through. There are various plants to see and coy fish in the ponds. And there's a tree house you can visit. You only need 1-2 hours total to see everything. The employees were nice, but it may be difficult to find someone that speaks English.

They have good tree house.. and nice place to take a walk with family, unfortunately every garden doesn’t really represent the country mentioned. Only Japanese garden and Chinese garden that bit represent their own country.

Absolutely wonderful botanical gardens. The location is amazing, with plenty of beautiful scenery. From the treehouse to hedge maze, there is a lot to occupy half a day. I was impressed with how well it was maintained and the variety of plants. The price was reasonable for what you get to see. Also, there is a student discount if you show your student ID. Highly recommend Amantikir Park; it is a must see if you are in the area.

Ducha de Prata

Waterfalls
Ducha de Prata is a popular tourist spot in Campos do Jordao, featuring man-made waterfalls and showers accessible via wooden decks. The water supply comes directly from the natural waterfalls of Ribeirao de Perdizes. Visitors can stroll along the wooden bridges, listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall, and explore nearby souvenir stalls offering various items such as clothing, chocolates, and crafts.
Another tourist attraction in Campos de Jordão and one of the best for sure. A small waterfall with walking areas and platforms designed to get the best picture possible. Lots of small shops and restaurants around as well as tourism buses departing and arriving here. On the low side there is lack of toilets, so if you have the urge, you need to use one of the tiny ones located within the restaurants around.

Morro do Elefante is a must-visit spot offering breathtaking city and mountain views. Accessible by road or cable car, the hilltop terrace provides an incredible panoramic view of the entire tourist center. The cable car ride is a popular choice for reaching the top, where visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery and even return for a second visit. Standing at 1800 meters above sea level, this location offers an adrenaline-pumping experience with its elephant trunk-like curvature.
Awesome place to watch the sunset with life music They have a cable car that connects to the park at the bottom During Christmas the lights are espetacular

It was a silly place but fun for our kid and we took lots of pictures. The photographer in there was really nice and only charged us R$5 per adult to take photos of us by the sign and even did a video with snow falling. We enjoyed that!

Overlooking Campos do jordoan, beautiful European style town right in brazil. You can take a "ski lift" type ride up or down to the overlook. Couple of little shops and food vendors so you can spend a little extra time enjoying the view. The photos are what so much of the home, hotels, shops and restaurants are like.
Bert A — Google review
It was OK but not that much of a thing to see you have to pay to get a good photo photo it was around 5reais The cable car is not working now so if you want to try the cable car you have to wait-a-bit more It's also not easy to park
Amy H — Google review
Beautiful view in a place that could get potential to be better. We climbed to the elephant's hill using the scared cable car, I believe its was created with the city and never modernized. My husband, who is Canadian, liked the experience more than I did. He was scared but he found excited at the same time. I think that because I have already been to Campos do Jordão several times, I think at this point the city, which seems to be very rich looking at the hotels in the area and people who frequent it, should have already renovated that a long time ago and have made something much better and more attractive, as the other countries that have mountains for Ski. I think don’t need to be exactly the same, but Mount Tremblant in Quebec also has a small area up hill and its not so fancy, but little more attractive and safe. Anyway, the view is very beautiful and we can see the whole city, mountains and part of the other surrounding regions. When we get up there again, the attractions could be much more elaborate and modernized giving opportunity to locals to get better jobs, show a nicer view and give to the city, locals and visitors a better structure. I think the place with elephants is a good idea, especially for children, but they could modernize it and charge a little for the entrance to maintain the place. They also could make a kind of a little mall where people could expose their crafts making their products more attractive and a nice cafe or restaurant with a lookout ... Anyway, use a little of the American style of exposing your business, which could be better for everybody. If I had money to invest, that unfortunately is not the case at the moment, I would probably organize people and get that changed for the benefit of all city and visitors. Grade: Eli = 3, Serge = 3 Recommend: It’s worth for the Mountain View.

It was bigger than o ever imagined. It’s like an entire city, it takes hours to walk around and be able to appreciate every detail. Lots of stores inside and restaurants. With the Covid-19 restrictions, we couldn’t see more of the inside details but it was worth it. They have mass every hour and multiple locations as well. I loved it. Perfect to buy gifts and there more attractions outside the Basilica as well. The entire city is filled with attractions and even the cities nearby.

Cachoeira do Tobogã, located a short drive away from Paraty, is a unique waterfall where the water flows over a stone to form a natural slide and pool. To reach this attraction, visitors can take a bus from Rodoviaria de Paraty to the neighborhood of Penha. The highlight of the place is the surfing stone that adds an element of entertainment for both locals and tourists.
Fantastic little place. Parking is only 50 meters away and it's not too crowded in winter. Friendly staff, amazing cocktails, the kids were entertained for hours. Their Jorge Amado Caipirinha is my new favourite cocktail.

A place where you want to take a swim or at least walk in water, especially on a very hot day. To get to the place, you need to walk a bit, but I wouldn't even call it a hike. It's a nice walk through a forest. No tickets to get to the falls are needed.

This was amazing! Definitely a must visit!! We went on a rainy day, which was actually perfect! Make sure to bring your swimsuit, because you can take incredible pics here! (it may have been due to the rain, but we did not pay for entrance. I think I saw a sign that normally there is an entrance fee but we’re not sure as the desk was closed)

Around 100 metres from the church at Penha you will arrive at the river where the rock formation is used by locals and tourists as a slide. A few steps to the middle of the river where you can slide down! It is so much fun and the locals even surf down it. It’s free admission and there are small pool formations at the bottom, middle and top for refreshing. Definitely work a visit if you’re staying in Paraty. You definitely do not need a guide; we caught the o local bus from Paraty bus station for R$5 per person to Penha, you can’t miss it.

I didn't expect much from this local attraction but to be honest I was absolutely blown away by it! It was extreme fun watching locals pulling off incredible tricks as well as sliding yourself. It is quite bigger than in the pictures and don't worry it is absolutely safe though there are spots on the slide that can be quite painful. But no worries, nothing too serious! The locals are there to help you slide. Ask them to take you into the waterfall right next to it. You can enter the waterfall, chill inside and then slide out again. Amazing experience! It is all for free but if you appreciate locals' help, you can give them a tip in the tip jar hanging on the tree next to the slide. Absolutely recommended to anyone staying in Paraty! Taxis will take you here for about 40 Reals.
TxicoTxeco — Google review
Such a fun experience! Paid R$20 for parking and there are toilets in the car park you can use and don’t have to pay extra for when you pay for parking. 5 min walk to the bottom of the waterfalls. 5 min climb up to the top. 2 life guards helping people slide down the waterfalls (it’s like a natural water slide). There is a restaurant at the top which we didn’t go to but it looked nice!

(Translated by Google) It's very beautiful here. Both above and below the water. Especially the below-water part is of a beauty that unfortunately doesn't last long. It's being destroyed by barbecue boats that throw trash into the water. Paper with mayonnaise, bones, cans, bags, plastic cups, straws, cigarette butts. They play funk music so loud that you can't even talk 100 meters away. In addition, there were about 80 jetskis competing, above the corals, above the fish that are the reason for the beauty of the place! We know that these machines ruin the peace above the water. But it's 10x worse below the water, it disrupts life there, right? I wanted to cry, I felt so sad. Is it not possible to enjoy the beauty without destroying it?

Pleasant experience where you can ride an old train with more than 70 years-old, remembering past times of the pre-highway era. Regional musicians play tunes during the trip.

Outdoor Activities
Lopes Mendes Beach is a remote and undeveloped gem, offering a serene escape with its pristine white sand, almond trees, and stunning mountain views. Accessible via a private hike or with the guidance of a local expert, reaching this natural wonder is an enriching experience that allows for a deep connection with nature. Despite being recognized as one of the world's top beaches, it remains relatively secluded, providing ample space for visitors to find their own tranquil spot along the 1.
A paradise, beauty beyonds any words all around, thin clean bright sand dazzling us under a beautiful sky, definitively one of the most amazing beaches I have seen in years. There is a bit of hiking to get there,an around 20 minutes walk across a stunning forest, we saw colorful birds in it and eagles on the beach.
Sardanapolo — Google review
Soft soft white beach when you step on the sand its like stepping into fresh snow that crunch sound! We walked from Abraão beach through the forest. If you are a hiker I recommend it, its a 2hr hike. BUT I’m not a hiker so took us 3 hrs while it was beautiful and we saw monkeys and birds if i do it again I’d take a boat so i have more time on the beach
Meytha A — Google review
Very good beach if you are a surfer. There are large waves there. If you want to swim this isn't the place. There are surfing schools on the beach, stands with drinks. There is no taxi boat that you can take from there (unless you have arranged pick up in advance).
Victoria H — Google review
This place is SURREAL! We got to visit this beach early in the morning and it was a magical moment alone in the world! There is a small walk of around 15 minutes to get there, if you are lucky enough you will spot monkeys and birds !
Estefania N — Google review
One of the most beautiful beach if ever seen. The sand is really white like in the movies and the water is so clean and nice. Once you there you don’t want to leave I promise you! A must see when you visit Ihla Grande! I recommend to hike to the beach it’s quiet challenging but nice to climb up and down through the tropical forest. And as mentioned before, definitely worth it
Zoltán S — Google review
Very long sandy beach. Apparently once voted among the best beaches in the world but I don't see why, as it is not very special or photogenic. The life guards mark most of the beach unsafe to swim and only leave a small part open in front of their watch tower. But that part is so shallow that it's not possible to swim there and beyond that there are huge waves so again not swimmable. The best thing about the beach is that it is so big you can find a spot with no one around. The trail to get there from the drop off point is about 20 minutes and you can see some cute looking monkeys there if you're lucky.
Petr V — Google review
What a beach 🏝 a real paradise beach. The beach is very long so you can easily find a suite spot away from the crowds. There is little food and drinks for sale on the beach, so make sure you bring some before you leave. It is also a bit of a muddy hike trough the jungle before you get to the beach, so best to wear the right footwear
Joachim S — Google review
Absolutely incredible beach. The sand is fine. The ground is clean. The waves are huge! We hiked 3 hours from Vila de Abraão and it was absolutely challenging and worth it. A must see when on Ilha Grande and Brazil!

(Translated by Google) The path to the waterfall is relatively easy, and can be done in a 4x2 vehicle, with only a few stretches of dirt roads. The place has paid parking (R$20.00) and some restaurants and shops where you can buy sweets, wines, liquors, etc. A peaceful atmosphere with no loud music and on the day of the visit it was not crowded. Crystal clear, cold waters with the possibility of observing some birds on the banks of the waterfall. I recommend it and would go back! Recomendo e voltaria!

(Translated by Google) The waterfall itself is really cool, with different spots with pools and waterfalls. I went on the first weekend of winter and at 2pm the sun was already gone. There are restaurants and private parking next to the waterfall (we paid 25.00). Note: I went on a holiday and it was really crowded. We waited 40 minutes for a space to appear in the parking lot. (Original) A cachoeira em si é bem legal, tem diferentes pontos com piscina e queda d'água. Fui no primeiro fds de inverno e às 14h já não tinha sol. (Translated by Google) Mandatory slide! The Slide Waterfall really provides an experience of sliding down the rock in the middle of the river. Apparently safe, children and adults can have a lot of fun. Parking costs 20.00, with no option to park on the street. Several restaurants and bars along the way, as well as street vendors. Even though there is no slide, the place is very cool to enjoy nature. You can go up the river quite a bit before the waterfall, it is worth exploring (Original) Escorrega obrigatório! Abricó Beach

Abricó Beach is a spacious and relaxed nude beach in Rio de Janeiro, offering stunning views of offshore islands. It's a hidden gem among the city's beaches, providing an option for those looking to tan without tan lines. The naturist area is accessible by walking past large rocks on the left side of the beach. While it offers a great place to swim and enjoy nature, some visitors have reported encountering inappropriate behavior from certain individuals.
Love this nude beach. It's near Classico but on the opposite side of the entrance behind the rocks. There is no signal in the area so you will need to plan ahead, carry cash for a taxi, or walk the hill for a signal.
Eric T — Google review
Relaxing coast about 1 hour to 90 minute away from copa. Less people and nude optional. Be ware the phone reception isn’t the best so calling a Uber to return to ipenma isn’t straight forward
Sheng C — Google review
Great bar and great atmosphere. It's well worth the trip out here and it's also a great spot for a swim. We were here mid week in the early afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all, but imagine it'd get crowded on weekends.
Guy — Google review
Two places in one. If looking at the sea, on your right you have the regular beach, but on your left (passing those large rocks) you got a nudist beach. The whole place is wonderful. Today the water was clean and transparent, so you could see your feet. The only problem is to get back home, since there's not phone signal there. You should schedule with a driver to pick you up.
Rodrigo G — Google review
Fantastic as it’s calmer for kids. Warm water. Fun for adults as well.
Esmeralda B — Google review
Hidden gem. If you walk past the left side corner and go by and around big rocks on the beach sand you get access to the naturist area where clothing is optional. Great place to go for a swim and hang out for a bit in nature. It could really be an idilic place if it were not for the super weird men who are there not to be in harmony with nature but rather to let their sexual nature come out aggressively and extremely impolitely.
Gustavo R — Google review
Excellent beach. Sea is rough in the middle. Recommend staying on the right hand side of the beach, close to the rocks. The water is a bit calmer there and a car park is available.

Prainha Beach is a charming and small cove beach located in Rio de Janeiro, offering a rustic surf haven with excellent surfing conditions. However, swimming can be dangerous due to strong currents. The area is free from high-rise buildings, providing a refreshing escape with occasional wooden fish restaurants and ice-cold coconut water stands.
Visiting Prainha was an unforgettable experience. Tucked away in a stunning natural setting, the beach feels like a hidden paradise surrounded by lush green hills and dramatic cliffs. The golden sand and crystal-clear water made it perfect for both relaxing and taking a refreshing swim. The waves were gentle in the morning and more lively in the afternoon, making it a great spot for surfers and swimmers alike. Despite its beauty, Prainha maintained a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere that made the day feel truly special. Whether you’re looking to sunbathe, explore the scenic trails nearby, or just soak in the breathtaking views, Prainha is a must-visit destination that captures the very best of nature’s charm.
Louie S — Google review
The beach itself is amazing, beautiful it blends the city with nature, just by turning around a corner.. Great options to eat seafood based meals and an amazing spot for surfing. Which makes it not so welcoming to swimmers, cause there usually are a lots of waves. Phone reception over there is really bad, so getting an uber to leave the place might be an ordeal, i'd recommend a car, a bycicle or accept the fact that you might have to walk back part of the way before u can get Internet again (but there is a chance that u'll get internet over there).
Felipe C — Google review
Amazing scenery beach in Rio. Great for those who surf. Families are welcome too. I recommend you to visit it before 11h am specially during the weekends when it gets crowded.

Curupira Recreio dos Bandeirantes is a stunning beach located about 40 minutes away from Ipanema and Copacabana. It's a favorite spot for surfers and bodyboarders, with strong winds and waves making it ideal for water sports. The beach offers a serene escape from the tourist crowds, set against the backdrop of an Atlantic forest reserve.
We were there in November. A very interesting place. Luxury hotels and apartments are located next to the exotic, noisy, narrow streets of the favela.

Hello tourists. This is RECREIO beach.A strip of sand for about 10 km or so.It´s after Barra and before Macumba and the stone. It was wild back them, nobody at all. There you see a labor city and none peasant, athlete or entertainer. It´s only sand,no stones or bricks in the way.I remeber a nature with stone in the middle of the beach ahead ,in Prainha and macumba is cut by a stone also. The quiosques still about old generation,I think few of woods, closed long time with only a few fidel customers or so.It´s about yourselve. The beach has nothing actually. If you have cash or seek hanging or so.I loved do this course by myself, admire femsle athletes and very loyals. But even for a bolshoii dancer she would complain a lot about so much studies in her country to see litter, low wages and people struggling close to her.And many other complains.... Was good, her coach would avise her.I am sure she understand only of practice. Maybe kyte needs crowds or close to civilization, nobody is up to show and desert brazil. This is our biggest beach and desert so far. No safe guards, dangerous waters. No kind at all. Good walk!

The beach is located on the outskirts of the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro and stretches for 11 miles (18 kilometers). The calm waters and wide expanse of sand make it a popular spot for families and water sports enthusiasts, with surfers, bodyboarders, kite surfers, and windsurfers all enjoying good waves. The beach is usually quiet during the week but busy on weekends.
Such a perfect view of the window towards the most delightful beaches in Brazil, quite long and clean. Not as crowded as Copacabana but as beautiful as that and even more relaxing and comforting. The white sand beside green space under the Blue Sky truly talks to you and inspire you that heaven is this.
Yasser K — Google review
This is a beautiful beach if you're in the area and want to check it out. There a lot of things to do here besides just walking in the sand. There also some food places on the top. Crossing the street to get here would be the biggest challenge unless you go in the early morning like I did. The weather was nice and it was after it rained a bit so the whole view was clear and beautiful.

I enjoyed this beach a lot! There’s plenty of good places to eat within walking distance. You can also get food @ the beach of course. It was cool seeing all the water sports people were doing. My first time trying the “cheese with honey” it was so good!

One of the best beaches in Rio quite long and clean. Try to pick up a spot far from bus stops to avoid a crowded area. Parking sometimes and during weekends can be a challenge. Amazing sunset mood.

I’m from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 and we have very nice perfect beaches in Queensland. But here, they know how to truly enjoy and relax with live music and good drinking coconuts. Combine this with good company and honestly all your stress and worries fly away. Lovely place and lovely people. I would just add that the people of Rio need to honestly stop charging more for Gringos, Cariocas (Rio locals) 99% of the time always look to overcharge or get more money from “dumb” foreign looking people. Be careful. They try to sell you drugs on the beach. Don’t go near the Favelas. Trust my opinion, my wife is from São Paulo, and I’ve been to Rio twice.

Pedra Bonita, located in Tijuca National Park near the Atlantic Coast, offers a stunning hiking trail and hang-gliding port with panoramic views. The 696-meter peak provides breathtaking landscapes of Tijuca Forest National Park, Pedra da Gavea, Sao Conrado and Barra beaches. Visitors can explore the biodiverse wonderland with natural gems like Gruta do Inferno cave and Cascatinha Waterfall.
Sooooo beautiful! A free hike to the top with an incredible view. You’re able to take an Uber or taxi to the top if you don’t want to hike much. If you take your car it’s only a $2 dollar parking. From the furthest parking spot it’s about a 30 minute sweaty hike up. It’s so worth it and the view is as great or better than the view from sugarloaf. But I recommend bringing bug spray. The mosquitoes there are very thirsty, haha. There’s also an opportunity for just $160 dollars to go hang gliding but there’s a weight limit of about 90-100 kilos depending on the wind that day. It includes a video, pictures and the ride to the top. I did it and it was an amazing experience.
Peter M — Google review
Would absolutely recommend the Pedra Bonita hike to anyone visiting Rio. The views are astounding - a short and relatively easy hike for a huge gain. There’s a cafe/bar with wifi at the start/finish too.

Breathtaking! Stunning! Muito legal!! This place is truly amazing. Also it's a very easy hike to great views of pedra da gavea and all of Rio West and East! You can also walk up the parking lot past the trail entrance to a bar and the runway for the hang gliders! 😍😍 Recommend for families who want an amazing view of mother nature! You can take an Uber or taxi to the entrance and walk up the very steep driveway, but once at the trail it's fairly quick and simple.
Henry M — Google review
Beautiful view and easy hike. Two tips— 1. Check the weather forecast before you go. Cloud can make you lose the view 2. If going by Uber, be aware that you have to hike up from the bend in the road and can’t go the whole way to the parking lot in the car. You also will not have cell service at the drop off point and will have to walking about 5 minutes down hill to get service to call a ride back to town.
A L — Google review
An absolute must if you are in the area. After nice hike up the mountain you are greeted by some of the most amazing views you will see in Brazil. I expected it to be nice, but it far exceeded those expectations and pictures do not do it justice. We spent a nice bit of time at top just taking in the views before hiking back down the mountain. Make sure to have water for this experience.
