I’ve just been on the Royal Gunpowder Mills walking tour. What a great experience. The history at Waltham Abbey is fascinating, and was brought to life by the knowledgeable volunteers/guides. We were a small group of 8, so plenty of opportunities to ask as many questions as we liked. The tour allowed access to many of the buildings and structures that you only see from afar on the tractor tour. For anyone with an interest in military history, explosives, or industrial architecture l’d highly recommend this tour. Many thanks to the guides for giving us their time.

Fantastic day at the Gunpowder Mills. Greeted before entry by welcoming volunteers. The site is huge with attractions and information. We made a rocket and launched it which was fun. The tractor was great with a very informative guide. The volunteer who gave us the talk in the rocket vault was exceptionally good. We went on the miniature train and the bigger train where we saw more of the site. There is so much to see and do here. Our visit was four hours and worth every penny of the entrance fee. Looking forward to booking a walking tour when they are organised.

I had been recommended the Royal Gunpowder Mills by a friend, and with the kids now a slightly bit older we decided it would be worth a try. It's only open to visitors a couple of times a month on a Sunday, and on our visit from 11am to 4pm. We got there at 11am as it opened, there is a big sign as you come off the main road, but the site is located at the end of the drive once you have driven past all the housing. Car park is a fair size, and the entrance is located to the right once you have got into the car park. Once you have gone in, it's probably worth getting yourself booked on to the tractor ride. It leaves at specific times. We went straight towards the miniature railway which took us up the site to the gunpowder mill railway. Again, there are some set timings for this, but when we got there we pretty much had the train to ourselves. The railway takes passengers for a ride further up the site, stops and then comes back again. We managed to see the deer as well as bits of the site. The guys running the railway did a fab job at showing us all about the railway, and even let the young 'uns sit in the main cab. The tractor ride was incredibly informative and really gave a good idea of how big the place truly is (massive!) and how much history is here (loads!) Again you get to see the deer, and lots of the old buildings - lots of areas are covered in greenery where nature has taken over. The kids were also given a sheet of things to look out for on the journey. At lunch we popped back to the car to get our picnic and sat at the benches next to the play area (obstacle course / zip line). There is an area where you can get a free tea / coffee - as well as toilets if required. Post lunch, we went to create some rockets and had a little competition to see who's rocket could go the furthest - kids enjoyed this! (Well, the adults did too!) After the rockets, we went to look around the exhibition and armoury. Lots to read here, and kids did do a few little interactive games (mixing the substances at the factory etc.) but they weren't quite so keen to stand and read! The armoury was literally a room full of different guns, rifles etc. When we came out of the exhibition, we just had time to have another trip on the railway. The volunteers were great and radio'd up to ensure we would catch it on time! Once our second trip on the railway was finished it was closing time... we had been there all day! We thought the dedication and hard work by the volunteers was great - we even thought about volunteering ourselves, but it's a bit of a journey away! (Although if they ever do a family volunteering day where the kids can get involved, we would certainly consider it!!)

If you want to learn about the history of gunpowder and explosives, The Royal Gunpowder Mills provides a fascinating day out. In many respects, this is the place where it all started. Our tractor guide was quite knowledgeable and provided interesting insight. The Mills is run completely by volunteers. As the MOD has been involved in siphoning off material, it's too bad the MOD doesn't promote it as the volunteers care dearly and they can use some help.

I visited with my two children and another family, on an open day during the summer holidays. There were varied activities for the kids (rocket making/launching, tie dying, slime making and nature crafts) as well as the train that runs further up along the grounds. It was a really nice day out without the extensive crowds that you often find with children’s activities in the holidays! When booking the tickets I noticed that numbers were capped quite low so I can’t imagine it would ever be uncomfortably busy. Having a mixture of fun activities for children alongside the educational side of the small museum and exhibitions was a good balance. They particularly enjoyed role playing in the village shop with ration books! I would say the open day activities etc are probably most suited for children under 10 (which all of ours were). We also saw some beautiful deer and the children enjoyed the playground as well. Everything was staffed by volunteers (I think) giving up their time to run it. Drinks and snacks in the cafe were very well priced - i bought ice lollies for 5 children for barely more than the price you’d pay for one at an ice cream van!! We brought a packed lunch with us as suggested on the website - I don’t think there is much in the way of food other than snacks available in the cafe. All in all a nice day out, something a bit different and easy to drive to and park.

I took the walking tour today. Absolutely brilliant experience! We started in the cafe with a tea/coffee before heading out in a small group with the volunteers. They really knew so much about the site and were so passionate about its history that it was a real pleasure to listen to. Look out for the wildlife too- we saw lots of deer around!

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Fantastic facility, make time for coffee or food on the terrace because it's lovely. As described on the website, great fun white water rafting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a thrill!

Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

I went white water rafting with 7 mates for a birthday. An excellent experience, we loved it. Ask for Sean as your instructor he made it a 5/5 experience. We did 6 runs on the Olympic course and Sean upped the ante each time. Would highly recommend it!

Lee Valley White Water Centre delivered a brilliant day out. The staff were welcoming and made the whole experience feel easy, even for first-timers. The course has the perfect mix of fun and challenge, and everything is run smoothly from start to finish. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for something memorable.

Thoroughly enjoyed talking the self guided tour. The glass floor gives a unique view of the Thames, but can be slightly unnerving. The engine room has the two steam engines, used to power the bascules, on display. Over all, it's very good venue for money.

One of the most important attractions in this wonderful city! Especially, if you visit it at night is way more beautiful! This bridge brings its own unique touch of beauty in London! You have to visit it with no hesitation! 🌉✨

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in London and visiting it was a fantastic experience. The views from the bridge are stunning, both of the Thames and the city. Taking the Tower Bridge Exhibition tour made the visit even better, as it gave detailed insights into how the bridge was built and the fascinating mechanism behind its operation. Walking across the glass floor was a unique highlight too, giving a completely different perspective of the bridge and the river below. The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to wait in a queue for entry, and on a sunny day this can feel a bit frustrating. Still, it’s not just a landmark to admire from outside, but also an educational and memorable experience to explore from within. Definitely worth visiting.

Walking near Tower Bridge is honestly one of the nicest things to do in London, especially if you’re trying to escape the busy streets without leaving the city. The view is unreal – you’ve got the bridge itself, which looks straight out of a postcard, the river Thames calmly flowing, and plenty of spots to just sit and chill. There’s something peaceful about hearing the water and watching the boats go by, even when there are tourists around. At sunset, the whole area lights up in warm colours and it feels kinda magical. It’s also surprisingly clean and safe, even in the evening. Loads of nice little cafes and street food stalls around if you fancy a bite, and the walk towards the south bank or down to St Katharine Docks is worth it too. You get a mix of old-school charm and modern city vibes. Would definitely recommend it for a date, a solo unwind walk, or just to take some beautiful photos. 10/10 – calming, scenic, and very London.

The Tower Bridge is a great stop if you're in the nearby area, and provides about 30min to 1 hour diversion. Combined with the free audio tour, great views complete with partial glass floor in one section, historic awe of the building process, and gift shop at the end - I would highly recommend if you're in the area. There are lifts for the tower, but I suggest/recommend you take the stairs getting some insight, facts and touch of history on the way up and down. There are benches to rest, toilets but no Air Con for most of it, however fans throughout provide plenty of relief - 84 degrees and it never felt sweltering inside. Learn how the bridge was designed, constructed and changes over the years - in particular the engine room videos and presentation on divers were really great. And whenever you're done walk along the Thames River path near the wharf and grab a bite to eat.

Good view from the top from a perspective you won't see otherwise. Short video of old footage of London was good. Information boards everywhere to enlighten visitors. On the London Pass so that makes it better value.

Wonderful experience. We travelled to Waterloo by train and hopped on boat to London Bridge for the Tower which was easy and entertaining. The Tower was fascinating, such history. The poppy installation was fantastic. A really good day.....but you need comfy walking shoes!

Great day out. Went on a weekend and not too busy outside of peak season. Crown Jewels clearly the highlight, and didn’t disappoint - displays nicely spaced out, not too much content to overload younger ones and up to date, but there’s also so much more to see. Poppy display was superb, exotic animals, Yeoman tour and White Tower also worth the time, with the latter having interactive area for children. Nice day out and good to take a picnic (though not lots of spaces to sit and eat).

Absolutely awesome place, went when the poppy display was on for the memorial. Got to see everything, crown jewels, the tower of London and other surrounding buildings. Was a brilliant day out. Highly recommended A+++

Enjoyed all the history The Ravens were alot bigger than I imagined. The crown Jewels were amazing and loads of gold pieces of various objects the punch bowl was massive. All the beefeaters were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely a wonderful time. As a tourist from the US, I cannot believe the amount of history in one place. You could spend an entire vacation at this site alone. Seeing highlights from the coronation amd seeing them in real life was fantastic. The displays in the White Tower were worth it alone

I’ve been wanting to take the kids on The London Eye for a while but I’m glad I waited until they were older otherwise I think they would have got bored after a while! We came during the summer holidays so the weather was nice and the views were beautiful. I pre booked for the best ticket prices and to take advantage of the £20 per adult and £18 per child special offers. We enjoyed it and the kids were able to spot famous buildings which was fun 😁 The only let down was that there were alot of us in our cabin as we were grouped up with a large family with limited seating so after a while of standing i had to sit on the poles due to issues with my knee and the kids sat on the floor. It was a busy day and I think the staff filled the cubicle to capacity This is something to bear in mind for those that may have ailments or disabilities where they need to sit down. Other than that it is worth the visit, we didn’t wait long in the queue and they also take pictures and give you a card with a QR code which can be scanned so you can purchase the pictures after your ride which is nice 😊

The London Eye is an interesting experience that I was glad that I went on, but I am not sure if I would recommend. It offers great views of the city but I understand that The Shard and Sky Garden also can do this. Heck, the coffee shop at Tate Modern also has great views and it is free to go up. We had booked a time and were waiting for our slot, when we arrived 15 minutes early to join an extremely long queue. I was very surprised how quickly the line went and we actually boarded the ride at our allocated time. I suspect if we arrived early (within reason), we could have got on sooner rather than waiting around. Getting on and off was easy, even though the ride didn't stop. The entire trip lasted about 30 minutes and was very relaxing. Obviously the views were great, but I `think that I would have spent less time if I had gone up the Shard or Sky Garden, as the ride seemed to trudge along. The are definitely opportunities to get discounted tickets: book online or in the visitor centre or with the London Pass. Since the line went quick, I wouldn't pay extra for a fast path.

Absolutely love London. And Big Ben is a must see / visit. It has been beautifully restored and looks grand as it should. Right next to the houses of Parliament and across from Westminster Abbey just down the road from Buckingham Palace. And then there is number 10. Definitely make time to go to this iconic land Mark.

I’m not the biggest fan of London, but Big Ben was absolutely beautiful. The architecture is stunning, and the city around it feels so classic and elegant. It was really cool getting off the Westminster stop on the Tube and walking straight up to see Big Ben towering above it’s such an iconic sight. Even if London isn’t your favorite city, this landmark will definitely impress you.

We didn't get to do the tour but coming off the tube and Big Ben being right there outside the station was pretty awesome. Its even bigger in person than I thought it would be. Really good angles from the station and out on the bridge.

Visited Big Ben while in London. Did you know its official name is the Elizabeth Tower, renamed in 2012 in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee — but everyone still calls it Big Ben. The site was impressive, with plenty of onlookers taking in the views. We spent about 30 minutes exploring and enjoying the surroundings. Fun fact: the minute hand is roughly the same length as a single-decker bus! Overall, it’s worth a quick stop and was one of the highlights of our trip. Saluti

Big Ben is an incredible and historic landmark, truly one of the most famous symbols of London. The architecture is beautiful, and seeing it up close is a memorable experience. It’s a place full of history and charm, and it represents the classic elegance of the city. However, it’s a bit disappointing to see that some areas around it could be better maintained and cared for. Such an iconic site deserves more attention and preservation to keep its beauty shining for future generations. Despite that, Big Ben remains a must-see attraction and one of the most remarkable places to visit in London.

What a place to visit. The world meets in London and I hope it continues that way. Everything is well organized, spaced and placed. It’s my second time in there and am keen to go back more times. This is not a one day visit you need few times to cover the whole Musuem. Recommend to come with comfortable shoes

Went on a Thursday in half term time, it was incredibly busy, loads of children! It was still a nice experience for my kids, they loved it. You need a couple of days to visit the whole museum, especially if you are looking to study anything in particular. Limited choices on thw food in the food court area and expect London prices but there is also a high end restaurant at the top. Own food and drinks are permitted only in the designated area. We will definitely come again to see and study other areas.

A Must-see Museum! You can literally feel the history of the world here. It’s free to visit; however, when you think about all the pieces taken away from their motherlands, it does feel a bit bittersweet. :) Make sure to book your tickets in advance — it gets busy! The ambiance will truly astonish you the moment you step inside.

While entry is free, I highly recommend the paid app for its excellent guided tours, which greatly enhance seeing incredible exhibits like the Egyptian mummies, Roman antiquities, and Persian histories. Be prepared for security and bag checks, and note that there's a fee for coat and bag storage. With more wonders than you can see in a single day, the museum thoughtfully provides portable stools—a welcome relief for tired legs. Several cafes and a restaurant are also on-site to help you refuel.

The British Museum is truly timeless. It was my fourth visit, yet it still felt magical. My kids loved the Egyptian mummies — their excitement was contagious! As a Chinese visitor, I felt proud yet emotional seeing so many treasures from my homeland. The collections are stunning, though the crowds can be intense. Entry is free, but booking online helps you get in faster. This museum isn’t just about history — it’s about humanity, memory, and reflection. A must-visit for anyone coming to London.

Visiting The National Gallery was truly a magical experience. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the atmosphere and every room tells a different story through its paintings. The layout makes it easy to explore, and the colors, details, and emotions in each artwork are breathtaking. It’s not just a museum but it’s a journey through art and history that leaves you inspired and full of wonder.

It was a wonderful experience. The museum has a good collection of Monet and Van Gogh paintings, which I really enjoyed. For just an afternoon, it’s possible to see everything without getting too tired, though you could easily spend a whole day if you want to study the works in detail. We visited on November 17, and there was also a Christmas market outside the museum, which added a very festive atmosphere.

A very spacious series of galleries housing some of the best known images in the international art world. With a restaurant and toilets and plenty of friendly guides you can easily spend a day here, or just pop in and revisit your favourites. It may look daunting from the outside but the new entrance makes the whole place accessible for anyone. Children of any age will find something to look at and many school trips visit and no they don't disturb the 'grown ups'! A teashop, restaurant, bookshop and well stocked shop make this a day, or two to remember.

I can say that I love this museum. Seeing such a collection of paintings for free is just amazing nowadays. There are beautiful paintings in every room. I could spend a day to visit it. Just do not forged taking a map at the entrance as this is a pretty large museum. French, Spanish, Italian, English, Deutsche… painters from middle age to impressionists. A pretty large collection of Impressionists paintings that can rival with that of Musée d’Orsay in France. Only the Louvre in France is more impressive (but far from being free) among all painting museums that I visited all other the world (with a special notice for Grenoble and Poitier’s painting museum that are great place to visit too).

The National Gallery, a one place to see history through paintings. As usual this gallery is free for entery and quite big so plan ahead. You can book free online ticket or walkin. Tube connectivity is there. Plan to enjoy and take photos from outside squar also. There is a paid washroom available outside. You get chance to see a lot of historical paintings and know about the artist. Due to limited time I was not able to complete it. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water if possible.

I visited the National Gallery today and absolutely loved it. It’s an absolute must visit place when in London, and you can spend hours wandering from room to room, never running out of things to look at. One of the highlights for me was seeing some of Monet’s pieces in person, a moment I’ve been looking forward to for so long. Standing in front of his work felt surreal, and it was worth the entire trip on its own. I highly recommend paying the galley a visit, especially because it’s free entry!

If you’re in London, you must visit this place. I stopped by during an 8 hour layover, and even though I couldn’t take my time the way I wanted to, it was absolutely worth it. The collection is stunning, wall after wall of masterpieces you could spend hours admiring. I barely scratched the surface and already felt amazed. I’ll definitely be coming back on a proper trip so I can truly enjoy and appreciate everything this museum has to offer.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield. The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better. As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.

As a visitor, you can’t ask for a better system to get about to major museums, etc. You get to ride with both the working class and executives alike. Iconic London ! Takes a little getting used to, if you need to travel in the City, it’s the way to go. As a visitor, we purchased a Visitor Oyster Card online, it’s a fantastic deal. Recommended.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.

These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point? Many but the main one is: Thanks to Bid Rigging the same people keep getting rich fulfilling contracts that do nothing but cosmetic change. I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one. Sure, they Spent £16 Billion over budget and late) on a new Elizabeth Line. It's a nice reflection on what we have - - tourists are in central London for the sights, not off to Abby Wood (the other one) and to have them riding the clittering, clanking, clattering collection of caligenous junk - - (think Wizard of Oz to the Tin Man) is a disgrace.

Coming from Manchester we need this in the city.... Yes its a bit dim, dark and dirty.... But what a brilliant, cheap and quick way to get around....

You can book a time slot ticket for free online before hand. This ensures you dont have to queue if it gets too busy. Truly a must visit Museum in London. There are so many different exhibitions that you can easily spend 3 hours here. Of course the main attraction is the Blue whale skeleton, called hope. It weighs 4.5tonnes and measures 25.2m long. This is a real blue whale skeleton and not a model! Can you imagine! There is a dinosaur exhibition and for your info, most of the bones on display are actual dinosaur bones! If you see its dated, then its real dinosaur bones. Other than that there are other paid exhibitions available throughout the museum.

The museum is well-maintained and full of interesting collections. Natural History Museum in London and was truly impressed. The building itself is stunning with its grand architecture and detailed interior. The dinosaur and gemstone exhibits were fascinating and well-organized. I especially enjoyed the interactive sections that make learning fun for both kids and adults. Spending few hours here may not enough. I recommend booking paid tickets for elderly visitors.

Always love going to museums where ever I go to take in the local perspective. It is free entry with donation recommended, which is easy once you see what this place has to offer. This would have been one of the larger sites I have visited in my travels. It has a large variety of collections spanning several floors. I really enjoyed most of the galleries I saw, with their interactive displays that complement the static representations. We literally spent all afternoon their until close and still didn't get a chance to see the whole building. Missing out on the Darwin, and some of the green sector. From what we did see the rest of the place would be just as amazing. Since it's free entry it can definitely be a 2 day walk about. The place is large and requires a bit of sauntering. There are lots of benches and presentations that you can sit while you watch. Which is nice for those who have mobility challenges. Overall, a great visit but if you really like to hit every inch, it's a whole day visit so keep that in mind.

Well kept clean and spacious. Wheel chair acess though out and entering with no steps . Its extremely hot inside even in November. Could do with air conditioning. Lots of history with lots of animals. Great for kids all ages and adults. Toilets and disabled toilets on site with a cafe which is rather expensive so I would recommend brining yours own lunch in if you are a family. 2 coffees and a cookie was approximately £15 . Over all a great experience and very educational. If you home educate your children its worth a day trip in to London to visit the museum. Hot peanuts with honey out side are delicious 😋 pre book tickets for free on line to avoid quing. Pre booked Tickets walk straight in and que jump !

Today, I took a group of elderly visitors with dementia to the London History Museum. Our group varied in mobility — some were able to walk independently, one used a walker, and two were in wheelchairs. We had a brilliant time exploring the different rooms, and the earthquake experience was truly amazing and impactful for everyone. The museum was quite busy with several school groups, which did raise some concerns. One of my members was bumped into twice by a school group, causing them to become unsteady on their feet. While the school group was apologetic, the situation was a little disappointing. The only drawbacks were that the toilets are quite spread out across the museum, and the lifts were sometimes difficult to use due to limited capacity and unclear floor labels. Despite this, we managed to navigate successfully. It was nice to see seating areas scattered around the rooms, providing opportunities for rest. Booking disability parking was straightforward and very helpful, with friendly staff assisting us both on arrival and when we left. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I’d love to return with my family next time for a more flexible visit

For a free entry this museum was absolutely incredible. A very wide variety of exhibits from a multitude of scientific fields. Definitely take your time and explore the entire building. Enjoyed looking at all the different animal exhibits. The dinosaur section of the museum was very fascinating to go through 🦖. I also enjoyed the geological sections. It really does seem that the museum is promoting education at no price! 👨‍🔬 A must visit if you're in the area.

I live in London, and visiting this city and this cathedral was one of the most beautiful experiences I had over the weekend. It was truly enjoyable. St Albans Cathedral is absolutely stunning — it feels like every wall and door has a story to tell, as if they’ve witnessed countless events over the centuries. The atmosphere is peaceful yet powerful, and walking through the cathedral felt like stepping into history. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves architecture, history, or simply beautiful places.

A magnificent architectural with loads of history and story. We visited in a weekday thus not crowded at all. You will be embraced by a deep sense of peace and afford to slow down to appreciate the view around you. Worth a visit together with the town.

The sheer scale of St Albans Cathedral, a structure of profound history and weight, provided the perfect canvas for the Poppy Fields light installation by Luxmuralis last night. It was more than an event; it was a deeply moving, sensory experience designed for quiet contemplation and remembrance. The massive, soaring architecture of the Nave, usually bathed in the soft glow of natural light or high electric lamps, was utterly transformed by darkness and vibrant digital projection.

This an absolutely stunning building dating originally from the Norman period but with additions over the centuries. The place was a pilgrimage site long before the Norman's arrived and the tomb of St Alban is still a pilgrimage site today. The cathedral possesses the longest nave of any cathedral in Britain and there are a number of medieval frescoes still visible; fascinating even if somewhat faded.

Being there you imagine that the place is nearly 1000!!!!! Years old. Some buildings were built from the Romans bricks. It is the oldest and one of the most significant church in England. This church saw everything. Besides that, town is beautiful, going there you should have enough time. It is hard to find the parking lot.

Absolutely enjoyed my visit. A stunning place that showcases its long history through a mix of architectural styles. I just loved every single detail, from the floor and columns to the ceiling.

This is such an amazing park, for people living around it’s a bliss. It is such a large and lovely place. Large tress with water bodies running canals gives a wholesome feel of forest and countryside.

Amazing and beautiful park for walks with your dog. It has a lot to offer not only to pet owners but also to parents or anyone who enjoys nature 2h free parking included but remember to take a ticket even for free period. There are at least 2 cafe points there, these are a bit pricey but they have good coffee.

The park is our lifeline. The cafes are fantastic so as the people. I feel relaxed and overwhelmed with natural feelings. We also enjoy the fireworks every year. It’s a great experience.

I recently visited Cassiobury Park for the Bake Fest event, and it was a really lovely experience. The park itself is beautiful — spacious, green, and well looked after, with plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. The Bake Fest was a real highlight: so many stalls with delicious baked goods, as cakes and pastries. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it felt like a great community event. Cassiobury Park is already a great place to spend time, whether for a walk, picnic, or just to relax outdoors, and events like Bake Fest make it even more special. I’d definitely recommend visiting, especially when something like this is happening!

Amazing place! Its been many years since I was last there and its nice that more things have been added in that time. Went during the dark arts time and was fun to see the death eather preforming at different locations around the studio. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Harry Potter! The lay out is brilliant and just getting to see how it was all made is amazing.

Where do I start! Absolutely amazing experience. A must visit for all the potter heads out there. Being a core fan of the book, the movie sets was truly a visual treat. I visited during the Dark Arts theme right after Halloween. The entire tour looked like a carefully planned adventure. The atmosphere felt do lively - kudos to the employees and the guides. A kind employee even took my picture (I was on a solo trip!). I saw the butter beer had mixed reviews. But I personally devoured it. It was refreshing after a long walk. Food was alright, not a fan of the unsalted fries. Some spaces did feel a bit rushed, specially people pushing and hovering around impatiently. Could see the kids engaging a lot with the sets. The photo booths are cute, however felt like a rip-off to have a poster print for £20! Considering the high turnaround rate, they could reduce the price. The broom videos looked a bit tacky but would be a fun try out for kids. Loved the small performance by the Death Eaters who kindly let us take pictures together! Cried myself through the pricey souvenirs, but the butter beer packs were a steal! For folks who can’t find the tickets during the holidays, keep checking every single day twice. I got mine on a random day check, and snagged it right away! They were kind enough to swap me to a different slot (which I found again), without additional charges! Overall worth every penny!

We had arranged a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio for our daughter’s birthday, as she’s crazy about Harry Potter. We were greeted by Menaka at the ticket collection counter. She was incredible!! 😃 Super friendly and charismatic in every way, and a true potterhead too! Our daughter was fully engaged in conversation with Menaka who shared all the wonderful things to look out for whilst on the tour. We gained tips on how to manage our time during the tour, which took 5 hours in total, including a break at the Butterbeer Bar. Menaka also gave our girl a birthday badge and several other goodies, which truly delighted her. We were amazed by the genuine kindness shown to make our daughter feel special 💓 We had arrived over an hour earlier than our scheduled tour time, so Menaka encouraged us to enjoy lunch in the Food Hall. We loved it! All dishes were very tasty and generous in portion, so we were fully prepared for the grand tour 🤩 As a birthday girl, our daughter was given the special privilege to open the door to Hogwarts! 🎉 From then on, the tour was outstanding. Spectacular sets, fun green screen experience and entertaining death eater performances. Beware of the Dementors and Acromantulas in the forbidden forest! 😨 Overall, a superb day out made extra special by all staff members, though Menaka was our favourite!! 🌟

Went on the small group tour. We were meant to skip queues but we didn't skip the queue we just skipped the bit we were going to see. But it was still worth it to get all the amazing little facts that the guide gave us. We went when it was hogwarts in winter. The food here is super expensive! You can take tour own food but i felt like it was part of the experience so just went with it. Remember to get your free passport so you can get your stamps as you go round 👍 The tour was 4hrs with a 1hr break. We went back in so in total spent 6hrs there and definitely could have spent longer. Take your time and make sure you make the most out of the full day.

We visited on a weekend, expecting it to be busy, but boy were we surprised at exactly how busy it was going to be. After a fair bit of queuing and somewhat rude security personnel at the bag check, we finally got through! The whole complex is huge and be prepared for a lot of time walking, standing and walking some more (reminded me of Disneyland) to get anywhere. However, it is really worth it once you can get over this and that is speaking as someone who isn't a huge HP fan. The work on display is amazing and the attention to detail so very impressive. The displays are well thought out, but do make sure you can stomach the high price of food and gifts!

The amazing world created by J.K Roling and later by Warner Brothers studios, before advenced digital effects technologies were widely available - is truly amazing. It is definitely one of the MUST VISIT places when you are in London or around. You will LOVE it.

I had a wonderful day at Whipsnade zoo today. Highlights of the day were the brown bear, elephants, rhino’s, giraffes and the birds of the world show. Didn’t see the lynx which was a shame. Didn’t see a lion only a lioness and some cubs. 1 star lost because the tigers enclosure seemed really small and the tiger looked sad pacing around the enclosure. I also felt sad for the chimpanzee who seemed like it was having fun and was very entertaining but again enclosure felt small. Park could also do with more signage to help navigate the way around as although map on the app is good would still be good to have more signage as the grounds are huge and easy to take a wrong path. I also went on the steam train which was £5 for adults but I wouldn’t go on it again. Very big ground with loads of viewpoints and lots of walking however lots of places to sit along the way and plenty of small shops providing snacks and some provide food like hotdogs at £8.50 a pop. I much prefer this zoo to London zoo, I feel like you have better sight of the animals in comparison. One other perk about this zoo is that you can drive around the grounds with an additional fee. There is also free parking with easy access to the zoo. There is also an app with a live moving map which helps you navigate around the park very good.

We had a wonderful day out with the family. It’s a large venue, so comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Families with young children may find a buggy useful, as there’s plenty of ground to cover. Visitors can bring their own packed lunch or enjoy the selection of cafés and restaurants available throughout the site and near the entrance.

First time visiting, absolutely loved it, an amazing day. The enclosures were lovely and spacious, all areas lovely and clean, staff we spoke to were so helpful. We had afternoon tea at view point, which was lovely and the staff really friendly. The day was just brilliant, would highly recommend a visit.

Had a fantastic time visiting whipsnade zoo .. travelled all the way from North Wales.. Easy to find and access ♿ parking was just great for my wife. So much to see and do here for the whole family.. Loved seeing how much open area the animals had to enjoy compared with other zoos.. The zoo covers quite an area.. and it can be explored many ways..foot. train..or by car... Yes if mobility is an issue like my wife it can still be easily explored.. We seen a bus going around..sign simply said..Hail bus driver to stop..jump on a train which was around £5 .. Otherwise drive the car around and stop and explore where you want.. plenty of parking on the side of the road... please drive safely!!.. There is part of the zoo where you can only explore by car or taking the train.. Feels like your on safari.. amazing time When we visited they were giving the flamingo's a health check.. you were invited to ask anything you wanted.. Fantastic interactive experience Cafés , toilets and picnic areas are ample and dotted around the park.. Gift shop as like most places near the exit... Would love to visit again in the future as one visit is simply not enough to see and enjoy everything whipsnade has to offer...

Whipsnade Zoo is in a beautiful location of Dunstable Downs, there is a free car park off site and charge for car to enter, blue badges are free, you can drive around the whole park and there is parking spots at each area of the Zoo so you can view the animals at safe distance. It’s a favourite Zoo of mine due to care of the animals and the enclosures are well maintained. If you visit now you may find parts of the Zoo is being improved and some enclosures updated and cleaned, so some of the animals are relocated, the kangaroos are free roaming the zoo and can be approached but best respect nature. The only part of the experience that requires the most improvement is the toilets most are not regularly cleaned or look clean, the restaurants and food vendors do not offer quality food, the sandwiches were not that appetising and the hotdogs were served in baguette, I didn’t understand the combo nor did my palate. Not that they need a fast food chain there but better menu of food and quality would justify the insane prices like £2 for a bag of crisps. Overall I still recommend this as a great family day out but bring your own lunches and snacks.

THE BUS IS BRILLIANT! Whipsnade is an awesome zoo but the bus service elevates the experience even further! Lots of walking and make sure you dress warmly, but if you get tired legs then the bus is perfect. Can't fault it. Such a friendly driver (Gary) and they come round every 20 mins. Thank you so much

This zoo is possibly one of my favorite ones I have been to. The animals have so much space and the possibility to just hide away if that is what they want. We were there on a cloudy temperate day that made the animals more active so we got to see a lot of them. We saw the penguin talk and the bird show, both are very much recommended, but especially the bird show was super well done and very enriching. I have been about 5 times the last ten years and every time has been a great experience.

We had a wonderful time visiting for the Dino week. There were plenty of activities for the whole family, and our son especially enjoyed the "Time warp challenge" interactive show and the dino disco. The dinosaurs and cavemen were very entertaining 🤣 Our son would have happily followed them all day if we had let him. Not once did they break character. The play areas were a massive hit, both the indoor (which has a great selection of slides) and the outdoor. The cafe was good, a decent price, and had a great selection of cakes (the lemon doughnut was particularly yummy!) The animals all looked well cared for, and as with most farms, they offered lamb feeding and small animal petting, although we did not do this. There are plenty of handwashing stations if you do feed or touch the animals. We would definitely return and will look at booking for the Christmas event!

​Mead Open Farm has become a family favourite for us! No matter how many times we visit, we always find a new adventure. The hands on fun of petting and feeding the animals is a great. The number of activities is incredible, from the silent disco and racing gokarts to the big inflatable ball that the kids can roll around in water. The new pirate themed splash park is a fantastic and welcome addition! Even the British weather can't spoil the fun, thanks to the massive indoor soft play centre with few nice slides. It's an action packed day out that we highly recommend.

Fantastic farm with loads of activities for your kids to enjoy. Daughter was entertained for the whole afternoon and it was a joy to see and feed the animals. Highly recommend. Loses a star because sadly they don't accept cash.

I don’t know wheee to begin. This place is AMAZING!! Finally got to go with the whole family today and there was something for everyone. The kids really enjoyed it. It’s such a unique offering. With both the farm animals which are so well groomed and looked after… to so many posh and adventure options. It’s a full day. It’s great value of money. We were thinking of going to a theme park but with our one year old we felt it would have been too much with all the queues. We are so happy we chose Mead. Was a stress free day. No long queues. Good food. And so much to choose from. The foam party was definitely a hit at the end!!!! Just go!!!!!

Very mixed feelings about the farm. Comparing to others in Hertfordshire this is quite expensive for what you get. In terms of animals, if you are after goats and rabbits than that's the place. Other animals you can see - cows in the field, pigs in their little boxes. Soft play area nice. Food average, typical, popcorn chicken and chips from kids menu was ok. Play area spacious and well maintained. Will I come back? Not sure.

Mead Open Farm is a fantastic place for families. There are so many things to do, from animal petting to indoor play areas, high ropes, go karts and tractor rides. Highly recommended for a fun day out with children.

A must see. The castle is huge and very interesting to visit. One can see the different periods of time of its occupation. The interiors exhibit very well reconstructed rooms. The garden is very rich and diverse. The stumpery was our favorite part, in particular thanks to the autumn colours. Full tour of the castle and gardens took us about 3 hours.

Stunning castle for history, art, and design lovers! Walking through the castle and keep felt like entering one of my many childhood drawings. The weather was lovely and the gardens made me si happy—there are greenhouses to visit, a rose garden, ponds, and so many wonderful interiors for a great day trip from London. Thank you!

Such an incredible experience! Visiting from the states, so I don't get a lot of castle tours, but this one was simply exceptional. From the gardens, to the castle tour, to the guides, and the cafe, we left with an amazing experience and tons of stunning shots! Highly recommend planning for a sunny day to enjoy the beautiful gardens. Truly an unforgettable experience! The setups were stunning to see and the staff was more than friendly and informative. Plus, the food was great! We shared a sausage roll and pasty, but ate it too quickly to snap a photo! If you're in the area, or wanting to make a day trip to the south, can't suggest Arundel further! It took us three to four hours to clear the grounds and castle altogether- it's worth the ticket!

Lovely place. Bit pricey, but the castle and grounds are huge, so you can spend most of the day there. It's really well set up, with a specific route that takes you through the whole castle and learn about its history. The gardens are equally stunning. Great visit. Would recommend.

Google's 50 picture limit means I can't show you the superior quality of this place. My favourite castle in the country, somewhere I've always wanted to visit, and by a long way the best one I've ever been to. I loved every second of being in here, I'd do it all again. The Duke of Norfolk is a very lucky man, to own this place must be a very special experience.

11th century castle has impressive grounds and you can explore the castle. Very informative volunteers who are happy to showcase the part of the castle they are located in. Beautiful gardens. The gift shop is lovely. One of the first houses to be fitted with electrical lights. Closes soon in early November

The most beautiful castle I've ever been too. Have visited before pre baby and did the whole castle, but attended again recently to visit the gardens only as had the baby in the pram which is not accessible in the castle for prams. It was absolutely stunning and better than I remembered. Looked extra lovely in the sunshine. Gardens were beautiful. The garden cafe was great, friendly lady there. Toilets also clean and spacious. We also met the lovely little puppy Titus who was wondering the grounds with it's owner.

Used our voucher from the paper so free entry! Helpful map so had a good walk around all the gardens. Walked down and along The Thames- beautiful. Several places for a coffee, cake or lunch. Watch out for Red Kites- they target picnic areas! Second hand book shop too! Lovely day.

A fantastic day out at Cliveden! We had a wonderful family day out at National Trust's Cliveden. It was a perfect escape from London. We loved strolling through the grounds, which provided much-needed shade on a hot day. The views were stunning, and the kids were delighted with their ice creams. A quick tip for visitors: Be sure to look for the insider car park to avoid a long walk to the main house. We also wished we had known about the boat rides in advance, so be sure to check that out if you visit! Highly recommend for a family day trip. The estate is stunning, we especially appreciated the beautiful, shady walking paths that made our strolls incredibly relaxing. We found a great spot for our packed lunch, which was a nice way to save a bit of money and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The views across the grounds were truly magnificent. The kids absolutely loved their ice creams, and I enjoyed a well-deserved coffee break.

What a wonderful state in England! One of the most beautiful places I've been to of its kind. It's not far away from London, but it's easily connected to motorways. During the spring and summer, it is a great park to walk through gardens and forest, so bring your sunblock, hat and comfortable shoes. I cannot imagine it during the winter but maybe that's also a wonderful experience. If you can, book your tickets in advance and arrive early in the morning, because it is a popular spot and the park lot is limited. You can bring your trolleys (if you need). It has many accessible ways. It's dog friendly, but it's your responsibility to keep the place clean. Bring as well your banquet with food and drinks to picnic, if you cannot, don't worry! You can buy them here. Please! Please! Please! 1. Take your rubbish with you. Shame on those who leave their mess. 2. Respect the queue line entering with your car. Yes, everybody wants to enjoy the day ASAP, but good manners are really appreciated living in a community.

Well-worth the annual national trust membership price if you are a local resident. Beautiful gardens to explore and spacious picnic areas for small to large groups. There is also a coffee shop near the car park and a bigger cafe/restaurant close to the main house. There’s a good size children’s play area and there are also frequent children oriented events during the year which the our young child loves. Don’t forget to walk down to the river and have a boat trip in the summer months!

Our local National Trust, we love it here! So many different areas to visit, the woodland, the water garden, long garden, the Thames river, the house, the list goes on! Reliable food options and decent parking if you get there earlier on or later in the day... Can get busy busy weekends or school hols.

Without doubt one of the best kept places I’ve visited in England. The area is vast and full of interesting walks, greenery, water garden, fountains, rose garden and lot more to explore. The public facilities are more than adequate and the staff are extremely helpful.

Beautiful estate visited in August. Lots of ground with both a woodland area and the main house. Plenty of space for everyone. Beautiful views from top and activities to do on the river (boating). Lovely for a day out.

Well looked after grounds, well tended gardens and beautifully managed Manor House. The facilities are more than adequate and volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable to explain and answer questions. However, we found the lights were very dim in most of the rooms downstairs and it was difficult to see or read the information provided in the pamphlets and walls.

No queues, not a lot of people and one of the most comprehensible and easy to navigate National Trust houses in England. Absolutely fascinating to learn more about English history; Disraeli, wartime mapping, and secrecy. Knowledgeable staff who like what they are doing. We visited on a glorious sunny weekday afternoon. A light lunch to start, nothing really special, served quickly and efficiently. The house is very well presented and the gardens are a delight to walk around and sit and admire while reclining in a deck chair.

Lovely building with a fascinating story. Loved all of the information on the production of the maps during WW2, especially interesting that they are still finding out about people who were there during that time. Cafe has plenty of seating with the usual menu of quality fare. The gardens are gorgeous and extensive.

Amazing House and gardens and with a lot of history, with roots dating back to before the Domesday Book. It became known as the country home of Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria's favorite Prime Minister, who purchased it in 1848. If you're a National Trust member you should definitely visit.

A beautiful place to go. Gardens are well kept with lovely colours, the staff were friendly, and happy to help. House was amazing to look around. Water bowls in the courtyard for dogs and Toilets were clean.

A wonderful little museum, which highlights all the exploits of Tangmere and the surrounding RAF centres which took part during WW2 and a celebration of all the record braking RAF planes back in the day. The real stars of the show are all the volunteer staff that run the place, the enthusiasm they have is quite amazing and make your adventure here a top notch experience

Went here for the first time today, was expecting to just spend an hour or two there but we met a lovely member of staff called Kevin who was super knowledgeable and gave us a very informative afternoon and let us have a go on the simulator. Had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return with my son. Cafe served lovely food too. Highly recommend for anyone with an interest in aviation/war. Thank you to all the amazing staff we had a great afternoon.

Spent a good few hours enjoying the displays and exhibitions at Tangmere. Lots to see and interact with for all ages, I highly recommend a visit. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to interact with you and tell stories about their connections to aviation. Visited the Cockpit cafe as well, it had a fantastic selection of homemade classic British cakes! Would visit again

Have been to this museum four times in the last sixteen months. Each visit for me just gets better and better, so much information to read about on the wall panels, about the base history, and the RAF, and some of the wonderful heroes that have served. Maybe lot of people don't realise, this museum is home two very important aircraft, a Hawker Hunter and a Gloster Meteor that were air speed record holders in 1953 and 1946 respectively. There are some very knowledgeable and approachable guides to aid your visit, and a wonderful cafe that does a great coffee, and some fantastic snacks/ light meals. Can't recommend this museum highly enough. Will definitely be back for a couple of visits next year. Many thanks Steve

I loved every second of my time here, all the staff are so knowledgeable and also so passionate. Those who have served and flown planes and helicopters just like those that are on display. So many stories can be told here in addition to what you can read about. Lots of exhibits to see and even simulators and planes you can sit in! I don’t think I stopped smiling at any point during this visit. I never expected so much from this museum but I’ve been telling everyone at work about it. Thank you all so much! I’m not sure the name of the man who showed us so much but he actually made the trip so much better!

Mostly undercover so okay in wet. Well laid out. Helpful volunteers. Plenty of simulators to 'fly' with extra donation. Could get busy. . Many aircraft exhibits and useful information adjacent to equipment memorabilia stands.

A diverse range of shows on offer here, which I would think will appeal to a wide range of people. Tidy modern interiors and a good view of the stage (even from the relatively cheap seats) give a more intimate feel to the performances than you might otherwise expect. Plentiful parking in the adjacent Northgate Car Park.

This theatre is nothing short of fantastic. I’m a regular user of their Prologue tickets for 16-30yr olds, so I have experienced this theatre many times. The seating in the stalls and circle gives an amazing view no matter where you sit. The foyer area is a lovely place to be, and the shows they put on here never fail to be of the highest quality. This is my favourite theatre I’ve been to, and I don’t think it’s even possible to leave disappointed with your experience!

Modern theatre in Chichester. Nice to go through. Easy access and for disabled people too. Could do with more toilets. Car park nearby but requires payment. Show at the time was "Top hat".

Fabulous show at The Minerva Theatre last night. The Choir. Awesome Theatre show, amazing actors, fabulous voices and great storyline. Staff at the Theatre are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The show was stopped partway through, due to a medical episode by an audience member. The staff and Choir actors handled everything professionally and with care and consideration. We wish the lady a speedy recovery. Overall a fabulous Theatre and I'll be back again as always. ☆☆☆☆☆

Lovely Theatre. The production of Top Hat could have been better. The choreography was not really sophisticated enough for this style of musical. Some of the costumes did not seem to fit the performers well. The set and music were very good. Singing was adequate. I have to say that the audience loved it.

Plenty of parking in nearby carpark, lovely staff, clean facilities and a lovely theatre. We drove all the way from West London to see Lord of the Flies after we had such a good experience watching The Sound of Music. Easily one of my favourite theatres. There's not really any bad seats in the place. Incredible views from all over

We did the tour and tasting followed by an overnight stay. All of the staff we met were lovely. The grounds and buildings were very well kept. Victoria was a great tour/tasting guide and certainly knew her stuff. We sampled various wines, beers and liqueurs, along with some cheese and crackers to cleanse the pallet between tastings. The farmhouse breakfast was great too!

I recently proposed to my girlfriend at this stunning venue, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting or experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, beautifully organized, and completely stress-free. Don, the venue owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with- professional, thoughtful, and clearly passionate about making special moments unforgettable. The coordination with our photographer and even the tour guide, Steve, was seamless. Everyone worked together behind the scenes to make the moment magical, and they absolutely delivered. Steve was fantastic, and his knowledge is amazing. The atmosphere was lovely, the setting was picture-perfect, and the entire team made sure everything went off without a hitch. Highly recommend this venue for any special occasion- it truly exceeded all expectations!

Just a note to say we had a fabulous time. Very, very informative, easy to understand and great fun. Having been in hospitality all my life I knew a little about the subject but I left knowing a whole lot more. A great couple of hours, the time flew by. I would recommend the tour to anyone!

We enjoyed the wine tour, better yet we got it half price. It's great to hear the history of the location as we didn't know much about the area before the arrived. Everything was enjoyable from start to finish. 10 stars for the Irish cream liqueur and Blood Orange Liqueur

What a beautiful venue and a very informative presentation and tour by your staff. Forgive me but I can't recall the South African guys name but he made it a very memorable visit with his knowledge and anecdotes. Unfortunately i couldn't fully take part in the tasting session at the end because of having to drive home but plenty of great wines and beers to buy at the end. Happy to support a small but very professional and enterprising business.I would recommend anyone with an interest in wine making and brewing to pay them a visit. A truly memorable visit. Thank you

We had a fantastic afternoon tour yesterday. The chap taking us round was very knowledgeable, the setting was absolutely stunning, and the samples included lovely. We will definitely be returning to spend some time at the bar, and trying the delicious looking food. Many thanks for such a great time.

Just spent the afternoon at this venue with a tour being provided by one of the sommeliers. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the estate, the business and wine and beer making. He then led us expertly through a tasting of three wines, three beers and a liqueur. We then sat in the beautiful courtyard and enjoyed a glass of wine. Recommend a trip to this venue.

A lovely place to walk around and take in all the landscaped gardens, from the wall garden to the orchards you'll find some lovely walks. Some lovely garden statues and fruit trees. Art gallery, garden shop and of course the obligatory cafe for your tea coffee & cake. A wonderful old Saxon Church sits in the grounds that is worth looking around. Plenty of places to sit down and have a rest and take in the surrounding sights. Above all enjoy your day.

Stunningly beautiful gardens to visit. Includes a “Roman style” open air amphitheatre with concerts and plays. Beautifully maintained and a joy to stroll around. Currently £12.50 per adult but “2 for 1” deal with a Gardeners World” card. Thoroughly recommend a visit and excellent value.

We visited Waterperry Gardens for the Ceramics and Jewellery Fair. It was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth the visit. Stunning gardens and the variety of exhibitors and the quality of the ceramics and jewellery they were showcasing was superb. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and polite. We'd definitely visit again

Beautiful gardens, brilliantly maintained while keeping some areas wildlife-friendly too. Loved ‘Yew Henge’. Missed the wisteria in the ‘silent space’, sadly, but the rose garden was divine. We didn’t even get to see everything so will definitely have to go back. Bought a rose from the shop, they all looked very healthy and very good quality, reasonable price. Stopped at the cafe at the end of our trip, loose leaf tea, fruit scone, and the apple pie were all delicious! Will definitely go back for the apple pie!! Highly recommend!

Waterperry Gardens is a lovely spot for relaxation and a romantic stroll. Peaceful, charming, and full of natural beauty. To truly appreciate it, you need to be a nature lover – but if you are, you’ll absolutely fall in love with the place.

Enjoyed our time here on a sunny day. Lush green gardens with an exuberant variety of plantation across the gardens. Not to forget the lovely team rooms and garden made juices, jams and chutneys!

A lovely castle with a great history. With a reasonable price point comes the enthusiasm of the staff that work there and the free audio guide that accompanies the entrance. Car park isn’t too expensive. Incredible views from the roof.

A great place for a day out. plenty of parking. access to all areas including the roof were there are great views across Portsmouth harbour. Lots of interesting information and audio guide. Dogs allowed in all areas.

A really lovely visit to Portchester Castle today. After not visiting for a few years (but living locally) it was great to return. A variety of topical information within the displays (some which looked quite new) across the site and lots of beautiful, historic architecture. It was nice to find a slightly wider and more comfortable option to approach the higher levels nearer the keep but some members of our group chose to access via the narrow winding staircase for those more comfortable with heights! We visited during fair weather and there is limited shelter but pathways are gravelled to help.

The view from the top is just amazing. Great piece of history well preserved. I had an amazing time walking around the castle. The grounds are free to visit but there is an entrance fee to the top of the castle 🏰. Its worth a visit. Plenty of paid parking spaces.

This is a sea defences castle from the dark ages with a lot of intact features just outside Portsmouth. Well worth a visit and you can also enjoy stunning seascape beauty outside the walls. Part of the castle is free to enter which is a nice element.

A boyhood dream to visit here, as an original Roman foreshore castle it was on my list. We couldn't go in the church as a wedding was taking place, however we walked around the graves and found a gentleman and his family all buried together, he was an artist and a member of the Royal academy and I was able to find him on Google search and read his life which made finding his grave even sadder and a bit personal. Car parking is easy with welcome toilets in the car park.

We entered the castle from the sea . Large gate house and then the opening up to view the inside . This is a very impressive fort . The Normal Jeep is vast , but to be honest , will not stand as long as those immense 10 foot thick Roman fortifications. They are made with Flint and concrete. Roman concrete is special . It continues to harden over time and self repairs . Chemists and material scientists are only just getting g a vague idea on how on earth they did this . Great for the whole family. Picnics allowed kids love it . Dogs need to be kept under control . A tea room which serves great teas coffee and locally produced cakes and scones etc . Ice cream for the kids too . The Church is interesting and the Norman Keep too . Well worth the visit and the money . Think about joining English National Heritage. Well worth it , if you like to explore your historic surroundings

We had the best time exploring this local peice of history. The Fort has been well looked after and you can clearly see the ongoing work to restore sections and to keep it going. The exhibits were great, very knowledgeable and interactive. The tunnels were fascinating and give a real feel for it would have been like for our serving solders at the time. The summer assault course was also well loved by our child, reasonable price and can go around as many times as you like. Entrance is free just pay for parking £3. There is a donation box which suggest £3 a visit but definitely worth more than that for a few hours amusement. We will be taking a picnic next time so we can stay for longer.

A very wet and blustery day today, but despite this me and my father had a wonderful time at fort Nelson today. We have been once before and we returned again and what a pleasure it was. Fort Nelson has always been a fantastic display of history and an Incredible piece of military construction. The new D- Day exhibition was a nice touch this time and as usual the cafe delivered top notch service and food! Please do come here it's such a wonderful place! The staff are also extremely friendly especially the lady at the gift shop!

What a great experience, I last went here in the 90's when I lived in Portsmouth. It now has a wonderful new entry with shop amd cafe. The whole museum feels fresh and welcoming. The displays are very informative and the kiosk at the parade ground has very warm and friendly staff. I would highly recommend this museum

A wonderful example of a nineteenth century fort. One of 20 forts built in the 1860s to defend Portsmouth. Also houses an amazing collection of guns, mainly big ones. You can explore the fort and the underground tunnels. And it’s free! Just pay £3 to park.

Excellent experience. The current exhibition "Standing with Giants" is very moving in the way it displays the number of soldiers, sailors, airmen and civilians killed on D-Day. The museum itself eloquently shows the evolution of armaments through the ages and also how Britain protected itself from foreign invasion in the past. A great day out.

A very moving display in a great back drop. It would have been 5 stars, however pushing a wheelchair around the gravel surface was a massive challenge. A temporary pathway would have been benefical.

If you like history and Victorian buildings, well worth a visit, was impressed with how much there was to see and the quality of displays. Can't argue with it being free and £3 to park, didn't expect that

Visited the Didcot Railway centre, after travelling from Essex to kill a few hours before staying at a hotel for a couple of days. Cost approximately £21 each and what a surprise we had. It’s unusual to visit a site of this nature and have the ability to walk around everything. When I say everything actually walk on and across the tracks, get up close and personal with the restored steam engines and even play with some of the exhibit in the museum centre. The site covers about half a mile square, plenty of this to do and look at with about 15-20 restored engines. If engineering is your thing I would definitely recommend this place the smell is amazing. They’ve manages to restore the exhibits but maintaining their authenticity not compromising on the restoration. There is also an area that shows restored carriages dating back to the turn of the 19 century. They have 2 working engines an old Diesel and steam engines, both in their own tracks about half a miles long with old 1940/50 carriages. There’s a small museum with memorabilia to look at ranging from old platform ticket machines to cast iron signage from various locations from around the UK. Small cafe offering simple food, tea, coffee etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the site. I believe most are volunteers (the ones operating the engines, Sundays only). A small shop with all train related and themed merchandise. Round the back of the main area there are further exhibits with old carriages and transport from the 30s/40s (an old Dennis fire appliance), a gentlemen selling antiquities, books and assorted model railway pieces. Great place to take kids with a purpose build playing area for them to explore. Considering this was a gap filler after travelling this was a fantastic afternoon out. We were on site for a good 4 hours, I would highly recommend visiting with young families, engineers and train enthusiasts. 5/5 very impressed.

Didcot has to be the most authentic, informative rail museum I have been to. The volunteers are enthusiastic and passionate about the restoration projects and genuinely care about it. It's refreshing to visit a heritage railway that hasn't been commercialised and is clearly proud of what they do. We will certainly be visiting again. We've had a wonderful day and spoke to so many interesting people. Thank you for your commitment to history

We visited on a Steam Gala weekend, Saturday. Unbelievably great place where you can walk between the trains whilst the staff ensure your ongoing safety. At least 5 locos in Steam today, and free rides on two different short tracks. One of the best days out ever!

Such a great place and an absolute must for railway fans! You can see the history of trains from the 19th century all the way to the late 20th — from steam engines and open-roof carriages to hand-operated cranes, the diesel era, and even computer-based traffic control. All of it in one spot!

A great place to visit, we took our 3 year olad grandson there as he loves trains as do I. So much to see besides trains they have plenty to do inc a kids train feature playground. Good facilities, shop, cafe museum, signal box ect. It was well run with friendly staff. Sadly no heritage trains were running. But as its located between two busy main train lines, there were lots of trains to see.

A wonderful few hours in this interesting place! We were lucky enough to see some engines being shunted too. Had a swift break in the little cafe in the engine shed too. Well worth the money...

Had a great day out, loads to look at and do, really enjoyed steam train ride. Had lunch in the cafe which was good. Fantastic day out for children with lots to do, train rides, play area, museum quiz, large picnic area, didn't see it but there was a free show of the railway children on that day too. The only advice I would give is to park at Didcot station carpark & not the public carpark opposite, absolute nightmare trying to pay for parking on their app which wasn't working very well. Took us half an hour to sort 🤦& we weren't the only ones!

I've been relying on this transportation option lately, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. It's incredibly fun, providing an enjoyable experience every time I use it. The speed at which it operates is fantastic, making travel times incredibly efficient. Punctuality is also a major plus; it's always on time, which I truly appreciate. This service has truly made my life easier and more convenient in so many ways. My only minor concern is the early conclusion of the daily service schedule. Extending the operating hours would be beneficial for those who travel later in the day. Overall, though, I am very satisfied and will continue using this method of transport.

Best way to travel to Isle of Wight. Short wait, cheaper then then ferry, 10 minutes and smooth ride. Only thing was wish they would clean the windows so you get get better pictures of the view.

The quickest route across the Solent, and unique to boot. Quietly efficient. Most enjoyable trip. Bus to the stations in Portsmouth stop right outside Southsea terminal, and at Ryde the terminal is adjacent to the bus and rail Interchange.

As a kid, I remember watching Tomorrow’s World and being utterly fascinated by the hovercraft. The thought of gliding over the sea on a cushion of air felt like the future itself. So finally stepping aboard one to the Isle of Wight was a bit of childhood fantasy come true (no, not that sort of fantasy). In reality it’s a little like flying Concorde. You get there faster, you pay more, and you’re more tightly packed in. The big difference is Concorde threw in first-class service and champagne — the hovercraft gives you efficiency, nothing more, nothing less. The crossing itself is barely ten minutes. Compare that with 22 minutes on the fast cat or 45 on the car ferry and yes, you’ve saved time. But comfort is on the ferry’s side, with more space and less squeeze. Verdict: if that time saving is critical, go for the hovercraft and enjoy the thrill of “Tomorrow’s World made real.” If not, relax on the ferry, sip a drink, and embrace the slower lane.

Super quick! Not bumpy at all (but a very flat day) and super fun!

First time on the hovercraft today with my wife and 2 children what a fantastic experience from booking till home time went to ryde for the day as wasn't sure if the kids would like it from getting there the boarding was perfect the staff perfect the journey was amazing even down to disembarking was perfect the staff at Ryde are so clued up on everything to help new island visitors will definitely be coming over this way again with out a doubt thank you so much for making the first time an amazing experience

Visited the pick your own pumpkin patch which majorly exceeded expectations! A great experience for adults and kids, with an abundance of pumpkins at fair prices, a waffle stand and marshmallow toasting stand. Loved it.

Went for the pumpkin lights trail at nights Nd it was fabulous! So much more than I expected, really worth the money. They have so much there, food stalls - waffles, wraps, fries, hot chocolate, a bar. A disco the kids really loved and a little fair. It was great!!

A near perfect accumulation of joy and desire. Varied set pieces bring artful pleasures. The key hub of the garden centre is simply top notch, & includes a satisfying cafe. An outdoor mélange of animals near the lake is perfect for a stroll, with a forest area to explore as well. A small zoo, a deli (with another cafe), a market area and a special events space fill out the rest of the desires and joys to be had. Christmas is especially excellent.

Great experience, paid for the one to one experience, and they certainly have a lot to see, some sections aren't as obvious as others were, and went round in circles a few times I dare say, staff were friendly and helpful, learnt a bit while there, I knew a fair amount already as I've always had an interest in animals and have seen many programmes showing them in my years, but picked up a bit more while there, interesting day out, more so when an eagle tapped my head with it's wing white chasing a lure 🤣.

Went to pumpkin picking by torchlight. It was impressive. Really good fun. There wasn't a single person there not enjoying themselves. There was a lot more going on than I expected. I'll definitely be back next year. My only criticism and the reason for 4 stars is that the queue going in took a long time as there was only a single person checking tickets, an easy fix.

We visited millets for their pumpkin picking and the set up was brilliant. The pumpkins are actually grown there, unlike some places that just chuck some pumpkins out in a field. There was a brilliant variety with many diffent types of pumpkin and squash. The price was fair and we got 4 very big pumpkins for just over £20. We also visited the farm shop and brought some very nice bread and other local produce.

We had a fantastic time at Millets Farm Centre! The farm shop is full of fresh, local produce, the play area kept our kids happily busy, and the whole place has such a welcoming, family-friendly vibe. Highly recommended!

We went to see the Swindon Youth Project production of Annie. Such a brilliant show!! However, the theatre was far too hot, no air conditioning and the doors were kept closed. It’s a great theatre and there isn’t a bad seat, it just needs some investment (or a completely new one if the council ever pull their finger out!!). The staff are friendly and the food and drink is extortionate!!

Small personal theatre, seats comfortable. Reasonable prices in bar. Plenty of parking, either a small car park out & multi storey just a few minutes away. Only issue was that it was so hot..take a small hand held fan.

The show was amazing (Annie) the theatre was far too hot. Everyone in the audience was struggling with the heat. Make sure you bring a fan. The staff were lovely.

A lovely compact and bijou theatre which has a wide & diverse range of entertainment. We saw The James Bond Concert Spectacular which was wonderful & actually narrated by an original Moneypenny, Caroline Bliss. The staff were lovely and very helpfully, which added to our wonderful evening.

Great venue, always clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Seats are fairly comfortable and most have adequate legroom. Good range of shows and plays throughout the year.

Went to see Tap Factory at Wyvern recently. Car Parking is not easy as very limited spaces close to the Theatre. Nice cafe/bar area selling good drink options. Food options pretty limited. We had a great view of the stage from our seats in the Stalls. Sound quality was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Well a fantastic show, however the ventilation is appalling. Even the band performing complained how hot it was inside. Half time looking going outside on to the balcony, looked towards the court building, visitors are greeted with overflowing bins and homeless people's tents. Not very indearing for the reputation of Swindon. Considering it's closeness to the Civic offices and the amount of community tax we pay, can we not keep areas seen by visitors to our town clean and less seedy looking?

The Platform One Cafe has been taken over by new owners and it is absolutely super, serving the most wonderful paninis I've ever tasted! They were reasonably priced, very generously filled and huge! The chips (not needed as paninis were so big) were very good, very well fried so they were crunchy and soft inside. You don't need to visit the actual museum to enter the café, which is a great bonus! Keep up the great food!

Ha drinks before visiting the museum and then food in-between all the exhibits to allow a bit of rest for the old brain - the cafe is small and not on the ground floor and the toilets are down stairs There is a menu and the jacket potatoes were nice

I visited the museum yesterday which was great. The food choices for lunch were poor and no hot food menus were on displayed so I just had a sandwich and a soft drink. I paid by card and was not offered a receipt. My bank statement shows a payment to Zettle yesterday with a location given as York ( not Swindon!). This cafe could be so much better with a little bit more attention.

I had the crispy chicken wrap , salad and fries, it was delicious!

What started as a quick detour on our way back to London turned into the most relaxed shopping experience we've had in ages! Arriving two hours before closing on Friday was absolutely brilliant timing - no crowds, no stress, just peaceful browsing through a genuinely charming outlet. The £2.50 parking felt totally reasonable, and honestly, it was refreshing not getting gouged like at some places. The covered design is genius! While most UK outlets leave you battling whatever weather throws at you, this place keeps you cozy year-round. Perfect for our unpredictable seasons. We snagged some great sporting goods and fashion bargains - yes, "discount" designer prices are still pricey, but definitely better than full retail madness. The food court and coffee shops were perfect for a quick break, and everything felt clean and well-managed. Two hours flew by exploring this compact but well-curated space. It's refreshingly manageable - you can actually see everything without feeling overwhelmed. Our spontaneous stop turned into a thoroughly pleasant shopping adventure that left us both happy and satisfied!

Visited the Swindon Designer Outlet mainly for clothes and shoe shopping and was really pleased with the variety and the deals available. Lots of well-known brands and genuine discounts, so it’s easy to find something good without paying full price. The whole outlet has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, clean, bright, and well organised. It’s great that most of it is covered too, so the weather doesn’t spoil your day. There are several cafés and restaurants, and I appreciated that a few have halal options, which made eating there much easier and more enjoyable. They also got solat / prayer / multi-faith room near to Clarks, Slim Chickens, French Connection. It’s also very family-friendly, with play areas for children and plenty of space to walk around with buggies. You can easily make it a half-day trip with the family; shopping, eating, and letting the kids have some fun. Parking can get quite busy, especially on weekends, but overall it was a really good experience. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed shopping day with family or friends.

All I can say is this is the best Designer Outlet I have been too! Although M&S Outlet didn’t have any air con it was too hot in there. Besides that they have a very good brands at the Outlet. Worth a visit if you’re driving along the M4.

This place is a hidden shopping gem in Swindon. There are a host of Mid level brands available to shop at. There are also a lot of food outlet like Five Guys, Starbucks, Mexican etc. The toilets are clean and makes me feel ive got a bit of Dubai in Swindon.lol. It was a good place for me to kill time before my train. There is also a dedicated play area for children.

I really do like this mall. Although its not massive, it has a good variety of stores for shopping, and particularly boasts a great selections of places to eat and drink. I frequent this place regularly and can say that its always been impeccably clean and seemingly well-run. Kudos to the staff and management.

It's ok. Best part is that the management company were able to use a world class old building to develop as an outlet, complete with stream locomotive and historic plaques

Nice set of shops, not the largest outlets around though. Parking is plentiful and free for blue badge holders. Nice system of scanning the blue badge when returning to the car to get the free parking.
